I love wearing this on a Monday.

Beautiful, juicy, fresh floral bouquet. Mood boosting, peaceful, and happy scent. Great for the spring and summer, suitable for the office or a casual outdoor evening with friends. It's youthful and delicate. It can often be found at a reduced price, it's a very good deal - affordable, good quality. Noticeable projection and long-lasting.

Flowers bloom here

Absolutely beautiful summer Bouquet... I'm in love <3

In order to make sense, I would start by stating that I have the newer formula and bottle of Weekend. Not the bottle shown here on Fragrantica. Simple, similar to Le Labo style of bottles, produced in 2020, in Germany.
I have never had or tested the original Weekend version but like expected, that was the superior one apparently! Most likely, the 2020 reformulation has butchered the essence of Weekend, like it happens with most of perfume reformulations.

My Weekend is a powdery floral-fruity bomb type of scent. I say if you’re into peaches, nectarines, sweet mandarin oranges, Weekend is your scent. Very affordable as well. Slightly synthetic smelling, sugary sweet, like candy fruits would. Pleasant, sweet, fruity, feminine perfume.

Besides a ton of sweet, juicy fruits, I detect a nice, spring flower bouquet: peach blossoms, violet, hyacinth and iris. Rose hip and mignonette are two new notes to me, so I can’t comment on how prominent they are featured here. I would say that both have a honeyed, floral sweet smell after reading the description here, so I think they are well incorporated in the juice. Weekend it’s truly a a floral sweet scent! From the base notes, I think the sandalwood and cedar are much needed for some neutral, grounding notes because of the intensity of the fruits and florals.

It’s a nice, everyday, casual scent, better suited for younger people in my opinion. Season wise, definitely spring and summer appropriate.

If you can get it heavily reduced like I got my bottle, it’s not a bad scent. It has two noteworthy ingredients that I have not encountered ever in niche scents. But it’s nothing very unique in terms of how it smells. I know perfumes have to smell like perfumes, but this smells very "perfumey".

You are spending a late spring weekend in an English country manor and decide to take an early morning stroll in the beautifully manicured garden. The flowers are covered in morning dew and the smell of wet soil mixes with their beautiful scent. The sun has just risen and the golden light of dawn gives the place a dream like quality. You hear some rustling behind the hedge and know that some nocturnal animal is watching you. You wrap your pashmina shawl tight around you, take one last deep breath of the fragrant morning air and hurry back to your room.

This is all headache-inducing powdery yellow florals for me. I thought the nectarine and citrus would lend it a little juicy sweetness, but they are nowhere to be found. Sadly on my skin this scent does smell very old fashioned, reminding me of perfumes worn by various aunts and teachers--all born in the 1940s. When I was teenager in the 80s perfumes started to change and target a younger audience, and these older ladies summarily disapproved. My friends and I got used to hearing that our perfume smelled tawdry, loud, loose, and cheap; the stuffy powder florals from the WW2 era were the only respectable thing. A "good girl" smells like flowers, not something edible, and never draws attention.... 😂 🤣 No offense, but I can see those staunch ladies proudly wearing this.

Burberry Weekend is a great bargain scent, a powdery, polleny floral whose quality belies its price. At least, this is the case for the EDP in the squat circular bottle, which is what I'm reviewing. My sister received this as a present in 2010 as a young teenager, and I found her original bottle recently. I can't speak to the new taller bottle and any possible reformulation, but the bottle I have is beautiful. It is a slightly unusual floral - fresh yet sweet, bright yet powdery - but is an easy reach for everyday.

BW opens with sweet, polleny floral notes. I'm not familiar with mignonette, but its description as a sweet floral note fits. There is a lovely fruity edge to this scent with sweet, juicy orange adding some freshness up top. It is clean and slightly soapy here.

As it develops, some soft herbal notes add aromatic greenness, complementing the florals nicely. The orange of the opening gives way to sweet, juicy peach. The hyacinth is heady here, with the peach adding a honeyed quality. It becomes incredibly powdery as it develops further, due in no small part to the iris-violet accord. I get something akin to mimosa, but this is perhaps simply due to the powdery texture and polleny sweetness.

It becomes softly woody and cleanly musky as it dries down, with the sweet floral lingering, powdery until final fade. Sillage and longevity are moderate. It is a feminine spring/summer daytime scent in my opinion.

A slightly unusual but very wearable floral scent made from good-quality ingredients, BW is a bargain gem. Fresh, sweet, powdery goodness. I wonder how the current version compares. 4/5.

@Nil3 it seems to be a new bottle design: both EDP & EDT look the same now (long bottle vs old one). But the pyramids are different, yes

so fruity and floral😍

I love Burberry because of Burberry London and Burberry Goddess, but Burberry Weekend was a bad experience for me. Oh my, I can't like this fragrance no matter how many times I try. It is an old, classic, and somewhat dated pollen scent on my skin. When I smelled it, I felt nauseous and uncomfortable, as if I were sick. Weekend reminds me of classic scenes in the English countryside, vintage floral curtains, and heel-length floral dresses. It's beautiful, but old as if covered in dust, no one has touched it for a long time. I've always liked country Vibes like Jane Austen's novels, but it's full of sunshine, flowers and life, not this old and rustic thing. Please forgive me because I only feel this way when I smell Burberry Weekend. If you like classic country style, sunny flower fields, like the girls in Jane Austen's romantic novels, try Versace Eros Pour Femme. In my opinion, it's much better than Burberry Weekend.

I can’t seem to find the edt online .
All I see is the edp.

What are the notes of the edp version?
Oh Fragra team, the edp bottle of weekend looks just like that of ‘bottled Hugo Boss ‘ for men.

Please put it in your wardrobe 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I normally don't go for florals, but this is beautiful!! It's fresh and clean and faintly sweet. It feels like the perfect spring fragrance. It is very well-blended, put-together, and easy to reach for. I can understand why it seems "old-fashioned" upon first spray -- there is some sort of note I don't agree with that lasts for the first few moments which reminds me of an older woman who smokes too much -- but I have to stress again that it does not last long. Once it dries down, it's a very classic, inoffensive, and easy scent to wear. It is pleasant like a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
It's not a gourmand and it's not exactly "unique" or "it-girl" material, but it is classy and reliable.

This review is for the reformulated / new version. (I really don't like the bottle! It's ugly and boring and cheap looking. But the perfume is good.)

Nrsabha

I remember discovering Burberry Weekend while on holiday about 20 years ago. Love at first sniff! Such a happy, comforting scent! I just bought a "vintage" bottle and cannot stop sniffing my wrist.

szeon

This is a perfume you can't go wrong with. It is another safe choice alongside Lancome's La Vie Est Belle. It smells amazing and is definitely floral and sweet. It is perfect for daily activities, but I wouldn't use it as a scent for a special occasion or a date night. It is lightweight and doesn't feel overwhelming at all. Definitely recommend you give it a trial period for at least a week if you haven't worn it before.

morphoevgenia

I have a small 2 ml decant from what I think was a tall, reformulated bottle. I get crisp apple, peach and honeyed flowers. I would say it is yellow flowers, just because it kinda resemble Poeme by Lancome a little, but I see no mimosa in the notes. So I guess it is hyacinths or cyclamen, or other not-yellow flower which I am not very familiar with in the wilderness. It smells so typical of 90s luxury fragrances, at least what this epoque has to offer now in era of reformulation. It is fruity in powdery way, not mouth-watering or fresh way.
I can see how it can be purchased for nostalgia reasons or as a gift for a mature friend. It is very very typical of 90s, as I said.

Meier

Definitely worth it, i bought it a while ago at a airport in london. I walked past it and was immediately intrigued. This is the perfume who started my fascination for the world of perfume. It’s a amazing scent for work and daytime activities.

NillaSugar

This was one of the first ever perfumes I bought myself many moons ago.
I was 18, going on holiday abroad with my boyfriend (now husband) for the first time. That’s what this nostalgic scent reminds me of, being young and holidays.
It’s youthful, fun and lively.
Creamy peach, tropical fruit pastel smell & blossom is what I get.
I will always have this in my collection. I wore it on holiday last year, my husband kept saying I smelt good and how it reminded him of when we first met. Ahhh the power of perfume, an example of how they evoke memories💖

teaspoons

gives the impression of tropical fruit w/o any of the corresponding notes; an off-putting photorealistic krabby patty gummy scent (specifically, the orange bun parts of the candy)

J'aimeunefragrance

Very fresh and uplifting. Used it quite a lot in the olden days. Recently it started to seem a little meh though, so gave it away.

AquaRegia

Burberry's Weekend for Women embodies a floral office fragrance that exudes relaxation and powdery elegance. Crafted to capture the essence of a tranquil weekend, this scent mirrors a laid-back country style. Its well-balanced composition resonates as a smooth and harmonious olfactory experience, making it a fitting choice for daily wear on crisp spring and warm autumn days.

At its opening, you're greeted by a delightful blend of sweet mandarine, zesty Mignonette, and the aromatic grassy note of sage. The heart notes flourish with Nectarine, Blue Hyacinth, Peach Blossom, Rose Hip, Iris, Red Cyclamen, and Violet Root. As the scent evolves, it gracefully transitions into a soothing base of Musk, Sandalwood, and Cedar.

This intricate fragrance unfolds like a beautiful bouquet of lightly spiced florals. Despite being associated with a renowned brand, Weekend for Women remains reasonably priced and boasts above-average performance in terms of projection and longevity. Occasionally, after a period of non-use, a slight note reminiscent of nail polish remover might emerge, but this issue is easily resolved by a few spritzes into the air, restoring the fragrance to its pleasant and normal character.

MTK82

Wore it non stop in college!! And then for some more years afterwards... love the creamy heady lingering smell...not for everyone though.

qianqian

Is it the hyacinth?? I don't like it ...the shop assistant recommended as fresh but I found it clogging.

figgypudding

This was an airport duty-free impulse buy. This is a solid, easy-reach fragrance. It's a light, citrusy, floral fragrance with a touch of that nectarine. It feels like an accessible, feminine fragrance great for the hot days in early fall.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

I've owned the old and the new (simultaneously as well) and they're both fantastic. I've been wearing this since probably 2002, so I'd know. My best friend's mom used to keep her stocked with this stuff and I'd usually wear it when I was at her house or steal a few sprays before we went to go see whatever band was playing. My first introduction to Burberry fragrances (that I was *aware of*--that isn't entirely true though). Fast forward to probably 2014 and I got a bottle for myself--it felt like such an intrusion to be wearing someone else's signature scent, haha! I've gone through this stuff like crazy as I used to overspray very heavily, and then touch up throughout the day. I do love it, it's great any time. Powdery and bright. I am glad I own it, but I don't reach for it much these days. The new formulation doesn't last as long, it's not as rich in scent...but it's still very much the same in the overall smell. Something about the old version felt cozier, even down to grasping the frosted bottle. When I wear this, I picture a Sunday morning, so the name is VERY spot-on. Sunday morning, bf asks me and the kiddo if we want to go get breakfast--pre-second pregnancy when my olfactory grew a mind of its own. He asks, and I don't know what to wear, so I throw on a t-shirt, some cutoffs and sandals, and for whatever reason, douse myself in this. Sit and nibble on avocado toast, wishing I'd ordered FRENCH toast. I simply just don't reach for it anymore because my life is so much different, and I'm not the same woman I was 5, 6, 10 years ago when I wore this at least once, twice a week.

Large bottle, new formulation, on my Poshmark for $30 if you’re interested.

ljsmith

I just think this one is so lovely. There seems to be a great deal of discourse about the old vs new formula and I can’t tell you which one I have… just that it was purchased recently at a discount store, but whichever it is, I love it. It is clean-smelling, bordering on soapy, like freshly washed hair, still wet and smelling of the heavily-scented shampoos of the 90s (I miss them!)
The orange and nectarine give it a lively brightness, and the florals are light and friendly rather than hot and overbearing. The musk rounds it out nicely, keeps it from being so light and airy that it simply floats away.
I think the name suits it perfectly because weekends are meant to be easy. I wear it on weekdays because of its friendly weekend personality. It’s pretty! It’s very girl next door. I don’t find it boring at all, personally (not to be all “back in my day….” but) I miss when perfume was meant to be appealing and not expected to be challenging.

athomas

It didn't work well with my body/skin chemistry. Smelled like very strong indolic floral perfume. It did not smell fresh, I also smelled no fruit, not a clean scent on me just way too indolic. The smell takes me back to scent memory of being in some public washroom in the 70s, gives me the vibe of bathroom smell mixed with awful air freshener. Just turned out very horrible on me.

Scent_Insensibility

One of the most dull, inoffensive perfumes I've ever owned. Vaguely fruity, floral . Everything that was wrong about 90's fragrance. By this point they'd become so insipid as to be barely distinguishable. Nothing to like , nothing to dislike. Meh 🤷🏼 in a bottle.

Review for vintage version

alice_w

Smells classic, elegant and nostalgic. Makes me think of fair ladies in Jane Austen’s novels.

parvatishallow

Boring.

qofb

I've got the older round bottle, pre reformulation. My friend gave me hers as she said she doesn't wear this any longer. I hadn't tried this before so I was intrigued, but my history with Burberry is not generally positive, I didn't love body, my Burberry, touch or her.

This one starts with a slightly dirty musky citrus and indolic floral blast, it's quite strong. It's at this point that it smells like a slice of 1997 or even earlier. It's certainly something you don't smell now. As this dries, it becomes peachy (assuming it's the nectarine) and the dirty musk and indolic florals calm down. Later this fragrance is sparkly nectarine scent with a background of very sweet florals and powdery musk.

I don't like the opening at all, if you hate what some people term "vintage floral musk" fragrances then stay well away from this one. The drydown is actually quite pleasant and this fragrance is truly nuclear and long lasting so overspray at your peril.

Tinabill

Not a weekend spent in the mall with gourmands and fruity florals all around you. Not a weekend by the beach with aquatics, citruses and monoi drafting by.
No, no. It’s a laid back weekend in the countryside, long walks in flower fields with your hands brushing against loads of flora. You relax under a fruit orchard sitting on a hay stack reading a book.
The air is very powdery, very floral, somewhat sweet, a bit peachy (in a fresh rather than syrupy way thank God), with a hint of bitterness in the background.
A beautiful old school composition without being stuffy or old fashioned. BW is timeless for the irremediable romantic. A beautiful powdery floral with good performance.
Note: I have the old bottle and have not smelled the new one for comparison yet.

VictoriaSmells

this is so delightful. the reviews forced my hand, and i also blind bought an 'older' bottle, just in case.

This is fresh, sweet but clean, just a few years too mature for me, but not garishly so.
This reminds me of my childhood visits to my Aunt Sharon and her farm in rural Pennsylvania.
The farm itself was surrounded by lush, dewy green fields, with woods and a reservoir just a short walk away. While one part of her farm was horses, cows goats, etc... she also had a vegetable garden and fruit trees. Apple trees, cherry trees, blueberries, black raspberries, wild flowers, daisies etc...

All that fresh country air combined with my actual Aunt Sharon; a really fun and warm lady. Always had a guest bedroom ready, always had a pitcher of wooly mint iced tea in the fridge. The bathroom had blossom-scented soaps that contribute to this nostalgia. My aunt's guest bedroom also had a vanity filled with her makeup, including powdery scented lipsticks and pressed powder foundations.

She was a farm lady, but she never smelled like one. She always smelled like a cool mom and a warm hug on a fresh spring day.
That's what this perfume is like.

bashak

I love Burberry Weekend. Reminds me collage days. 212 Women and B.Weekend are both perfect for everyday use, casual or office. Comforting but never boring.

renealizette

I recently just bought this and goodness I can't stop smelling it. It actually smells very comforting. I imagine my Mom wear this on a trip down the beach. She'd prepare us barbecue and packed meals and everything is just nice and it's such a beautiful day and I have no problems and I can just relax. I definitely relate to the name of this heavenly scent: Weekend. Like a weekend off, a break, a very comfortable vacay with your loved ones with nothing to worry about for a few days.

Emmouko

A spring perfume ! Elegant and classy worth the money

hazelnut333

sprayed it and it smelled like a dentist’s office after a few seconds i smelled like someone had urinated on me

ChelleBelle84

I don’t own the one in the new bottle, but I tried it out recently. I had the older domed bottle with the flat bottom. Something I’ve noticed reading these reviews. People who say they bought the one in the new bottle are saying this, “ I don’t know about this, because that bottle is just so ugly I can’t wear this now.” As if the bottle has something to do with the actual scent. Things get reformulated all the time that doesn’t change the scent by much, I can attest to that myself. However, just because people see it’s now in another bottle, psychosomatically for some people, it’s thought that the scent has been reformulated and therefore it is now said, very melodramatically I may add, that it’s a “shadow of its former self and no longer has the glory that it once had. The shame, the shame!” [eyeroll]

I don’t see any difference. So for others, if there is a difference, consider these possible causes that affect your PH that can alter a scent on your skin.
1. Hormonal changes (particularly after a pregnancy or menopause)
2. Change in diet
3 Medication that is being taken or has been taken in the past (this can include birth control/hormone therapy)
4. Stress levels

For me, this always reminded me of Champs Élysée by Guerlain whether in the old bottle or new. Why some may not have thought this to be as spectacular as Burberry’s other scents may be because it was meant to be low-key, laid-back, and relaxing. It’s the weekend. Time for a little rest and relaxation from the week’s hectic work and activity. Not every scent has to be a 💥wham bam boom💥, knock ‘em dead, take no prisoners, kind of scent. This will talk you down off of a ledge and have you and others around you so that you’re not so uptight. If people are loving it on you, that may be the exact reason why. They feel comfortable and at ease, which to some, is quite beautiful and very alluring. Certain aromas can do that to people.

As for the bottle, yes, it is minimalistic, but the idea or aesthetic is to be relaxing and uncomplicated. As long as the juice is the same, which it appears it is on me, then the bottle is just fine. It’s not like it’s a plastic spray bottle that you find in a dollar store. So, just relax and enjoy the weekend!

LivingForPerfumeFrenchie

My review is based on the old formula ( I think they reformulated in 2022? with a new bottle ). So I'm talking about the round flatter bottle, with the slightly yellow juice; the old formula.

I can't believe they have reformulated this scent. This fragrance was absolute perfection and I am hunting down the last "vintage" bottled I can find. This is a classic Burberry fragrance, it really embodies the Weekend and spare time.

The old formula is strong, lingers all day, awesome projection.

Bit sharp at first spray but that sharpness fades down to the background and all you're left with is amazing fresh, on the top of your game kind of scent. Perfect for private and work. Inoffensive, but yet special and noticed. Elegant and a bit posh even. It's strong, but not D&G vintage red cap pour Femme strong, it's the level just below that in terms of strength. But it will last all day long.

Burberry Weekend vintage smells like someone with money and someone who knows her value. It also smells like a high end professional and like someone who goes to the races and high tea in the weekends but not stuffy: modern and a young and feisty spirit. Can be worn by all ages though, it has a timeless elegance to it.

I haven't smelled the new version. but I read that it has gone weak toilet spray so I won't even try the new one. I'm sad to lose yet again one of my fave fragrances.

Will there be any real perfume left in 5 years from now?

LadyIva

The present-day version of Burberry Weekend for Women smells nothing like the 1990s original. It's not terrible, it's just... different. The scent has been stripped of all the facets that once made it so memorable, and we're now left with its bare skeleton. The house of Burberry should have simply discontinued Weekend and launched the new juice under a new moniker (here are some ideas for the new name: Oversimplified; Lazy; Chill; No Brainer; Easy Come Easy Go; Nothing Much; etc.)

cristinap9587

I smelled the original bottle and loved it, so I ordered it but unfortunately got the new bottle. It's "OK" but not great and not the same as the OG. It's a nice spring-summer scent, I get a jeans + white polo shirt + white sneakers type of vibe. To my nose, it's an exact dupe for Paradiso by Cavalli but this one is weaker.

sopelka

This is the quintessential 90s scent, and I am all for it! The fact that is smells familiar but no longer instantly recognizable as a mass market syrupy top seller is what appeals to me. Weekend is casual but unapologetically perfumy, musky and powerful. If my 15 y.o. daughter can pull it off, so can anyone!

KittyDeBeauvoir

Look here, you - "Burberry Weekend" is delightful.

I procrastinated buying this...because...honestly...I loathe those new bottles. There. I said it.
The new bottles suck. They lack imagination, and I may just have judged this perfume by that particularly uninspiring cover. Thankfully, I found an old perfume bottle and eyed it for months. Eventually, I clawed this to me.

Hear this, hear this!
I wore this to work today and got *major* compliments. I'm talking, "Walk over here, so I can smell you more!" and "Oh wow, that's beautiful". Yes, my colleagues are both demanding and sweet.

This is wonderful. Straight-up floral. In fact, WILDLY floral. And I'm not even remotely mad at it. I was expecting juicier nectarine, but I think it just supports the sweetness of the florals. It's also Very Strong: 2-3 sprays will do you, but who really practices restraint in this day and age? Certainly not me. I spray what I want in volumes I want. Sillage is *enchanting* - I LOVE smelling this on myself and it actually is a perfume you continue to smell on yourself for ages. Longevity is about 4 hours on skin; an eternity on unwashed clothes.

This is such a romantic scent to me. I put it in the same sort of category of 'pretty, romantic, spring floral' as I do with "Olene" and "Peony & Blush Suede". If those kinds of scents are your jam - spread this condiment on your olfactory toast.
Some people might find it smells a bit dated. I think strong, heady florals like hyacinth and rose hip lean that way, but it's all in the composition, people! I honestly think any age could wear this. A little girl would delight in how pretty and adult she smells. This makes me think of a *nice* teenager. A young adult who is full of sunshine and rainbows wears this, and a geriatric will undoubtably rock it whilst wearing this.

A cool, fresh, sweet, pretty, romantic, wildly feminine juggernaut of a scent.
I'm falling more in love.

Repurchase-worthy!

There's a soft, airy sweetness to Burberry Weekend, a kind of olfactory fluffiness that's not really to my taste. There's nothing wrong with the scent, it's quite pleasant, nothing I think is innately offensive in its own right, but it's just not me. I guess I like my perfumes more aromatic, or perhaps with sharper edges. As a perfume it feels very round.

It's very yellow- though the actual sensory perception I get is of the colour peach, not the fruit, but the colour. I can't smell any sage, or anything herbal, which is a pity. Also It's too sweet and syrupy, far too 90s in a bad flashbacks to my childhood kind of way, and I would say not floral enough- or at least not floral in a realistic way, like how actual flowers smell, more that abstract florality of perfume, which combines with a nectarine/peachiness that lacks the sharper scent of real fruit- I would call it a fruity floral and not a floral though, personally, which may be why I'm finding it so troubling. Fruity florals are really not my thing.

So, really, I think it's a try before you buy, but if you like sweet, yellow-peach, fluffy, syrupy, round, squishy, soft, airy, shampoo-ish, 90's fruity florals it may just be the perfume for you.

ETA: I can't stop wearing it. It's still not me, but apparently it *is* what I want to be smelling. All in all worth a try, especially if you want an unabashedly *cheerful* perfume.

doya

Floral, not fresh but very sweet and sticky. I've been waiting for it to grow on me, but that never happened. I love florals, only fresh floral aquatics, can't stand anything overly sweet, and this one has a lot of sticky sweetness in it. Had to pass it on.

sunglow

Weekend I find it comforting relaxing casual easy reach kinda chill with presence plus elegant.

kvo5

This perfume was gifted to me years ago. Never cared for this - not really my style - yet, every time I wore it, my husband would always compliment me on how good I smelled.

djui._.

When I bought this perfume, it was a blind buy. It is very confusing at first. I struggled a lot with the first spray until the first 15 minutes. It is very strong pungent scent. But when it's already dried down, it becomes very soft airy sweet floral musky scent and I realized that I love this scent.

i really love this one dearly. almost-blind bind and very successful. I've been wearing it nonstop for 5-6 weeks now and this doesn't happen very often to me. very autumnal, especially dry sunny autumn, September/ early October daytime of perfume. very cosy, very easy to wear. just like favourite underwear, like second skin. i would say it is Burberry Everyday, not Burberry Weekend. this isn't love from the first sniff, i remember testing it about 10 years ago and disliking, it gave me english flower garden/2000 airport/older woman vibes, which wasn't something i was looking for back then. i quess it was more popular back then which would explain my airport/duty free association but felt not for me. now i don't mind that garden feel, when it comes to airport vibe, i still kind of feel it, but i don't mind now, it just reminds me times back then when i had finances to travel which is not the case nowadays. when it comes to older woman vibe, well, i am that older woman now, and i dont mind it a bit to be older woman, i kind of enjoy it a lot. it just feels cozy and safe and a bit motherly. as for the notes, there are so many listed, i smell a blending but not individual notes, just a bit soapy and those flower garden notes. it kind of feels very suitable for dry sunny September days, but rainy days seem to fit that perfume very well as well. at the place i live at we have more rainy days than dry days, so this was really very successful purchase. the perfume is soft and subtle, not much silage, which i like a lot, i enjoy my perfumes subtle. this is newly bought, and the bottle is of the new type, not like the one in the picture here.

Edit: i ended up loving it. it is still a bitter powdery peach, but that bitterness calmed down a bit after some time. very good everyday scent for late autumn and possibly winter. i kind of surprised so many like it since it seems to me like a perfume that is hard to like.

mhubbard1961

Inoffensive innocuous scent. Smells of shampoo or panty liners!! with not much projection or longevity. Safe work scent but I didn't repurchase.

amrandcoco

I first discovered this fragrance while in school back in the early 2000's from a friend. It was a beautiful floral fragrance that you could smell on yourself throughout the day. I don't know how to describe it but it was like fresh green sparkling iris but also nectarine/peach with a very inoffensive musky background. Back then, it garnered lots of compliments and left a nice light fragrance trail that not only others could smell but myself as well which is what I really like in a perfume. I couldn't wait to get my own bottle by saving up and when I did, I felt just as special as the first time I borrowed a few sprays from my friend. I loved wearing it and kept wearing it until other sparkling fragrances had captured my attention that contain notes I love such as lotus, magnolia, peony, green notes, or aquatic types captured my attention that I started to save for such as Curious by Britney Spears. I bought this in the recent past hoping for that same beautiful smell and somehow giving in to my fantasy that it would be the same as it was before only to have my hopes dashed. I should have known by seeing the color of the perfume because like J'adore going from a gold colored liquid to almost water colored this has as well. It is nothing like it used to be, and I can see how others don't like it now because I don't either but I promise it used to be full of beautiful notes with lasting power and gave all those little wisps of the fragrance as the day went by when you wore it. It would be a dream come true to have my favorites be as they were before. I am not a fragrance expert, just a lover of beautiful smells that turn my head and wear them for me so I want to smell them more than 30 minutes. I am coming to accept that those fragrances are gone forever and all we have now are shadows of what they used to be for various reasons. I am starting to lose hope in fragrances being anything like they were before unless they are powerhouses and beast mode perfumes that are just not my thing. The "deepest" or "spiciest" perfume I liked was Portrait of a Lady so not that deep for most people and even it is a shadow of what it used to be and was released recently and not decades ago. I have experimented with some Arabic perfumes due to lasting power but they are just not the same as the beloved ones from my past. I guess it just something that will be no matter how much customers complain because I know that they wouldn't "fix" something that isn't broke for the worst. Whether it is due to profit greed or regulations, I guess they are gone forever and all we have left are the memories.
I can't recommend buying the new reformulated version of this perfume. I am hoping someone can recommend one that is very similar to this but lasts.

kosmo

the first spray smells like cucumber and water..
it gives me headache.
however remained scent is quite nice.. powdery and sweet
but i cant stand the first scent so i decided to sell it

vixen1995

This is one of my favorite scents to wear to bed for some reason...
It's very floral,Sweet, And "hyper"! Good projection, Moderate longevity. I don't find it dated at all, Rather bright and young. It's actually unique, Out of my large collection I can't say it's similar to anything. I have the newer formulation, In the tall clear bottle. Seeing other reviews, I imagine the old version is quite different. I like everything I've tried from Burberry so far, Their scents are casual, But quality.

Moniamali

The base notes here are just the worst, gives you headache after a while of smelling it

BoryanaB

The new formulation is a total disappointment. I can hardly smell it. What a pity!

I'm absolutely positive, because I just finished my 2010 bottle and sprayed the new one. It's lighter and weaker.

bloominghale

I have the new bottle and to me, it smells like banana. I don't totally hate it but it lacks floral and sweetness for me. I just had high expectations because of the feedback from other people but maybe the old formulation was better.

SailorV

Hyacinths are so intense and have a very characteristic scent. I often had a little hyacinth plant at home in spring and never bought more than one at a time, because they can easily turn overwhelming. Weekend doesn't smell all that much like a realistic hyacinth to me. It actually reminds me more of honeysuckle. The opening is very fresh and dewy, borderline soapy, with some unsweetened fruit notes to warm things up. The nectarine is really nice, it's subtle and underripe, but clearly there. To me, nectarine is the fresher, lighter, sometimes more appreciated version of peach. I also get something akin to a green banana peel, which can happen with white florals. It might not be everyone's taste, but I like it.
Later, when the scent has dried down, Weekend smells warmer on my skin, like honeyed flowers, but powdery in texture.

When I smell this I think of the 90s, but not necessarily of my own 90s childhood, but a very specific image. I imagine a young woman with bouncy hair and a floral spaghetti strap dress using some honeysuckle scented products and then spraying this one before heading out for a picnic with a wooden basket. Weekend indeed. But I also see no reason not to wear this for the workweek.

I like this for the experience, it's a lovely throwback, but it's not something I would wear myself.

PaperInABook

the scent:
this is my most repeated purchases among all the perfumes i own. its citrusy, refreshing and bright scent suitable to causal daytime use and most important this scent reminds me of holiday and weekends! exactly the same as its been named "weekend".

the bottle:
ever since their reformulation and change in packaging, i stop buying it. i prefer to the older version of short frosted glass with thick heavy cap. the current design looks uninteresting and its easily been mistaken as weekend for men.

Naqwalan

My mum wore this in the late 90s/early 00s, and she let me 'borrow' it everyday. I felt so sophisticated and mature wearing this as a pre-teen. Thank you, mum! A soapy, herbal floral scent with some sweetness. Everybody smells it on you and it lasts ages.

fall4grace

I bought this a few years ago as i was trying to get into the Burberry perfume vibe...on me this just smells like green apples, i was actually surprised no one says apples but nectarines. It's a nice smell, sweet and somewhat(?) fresh but i just wore this to just add something to a fresh shower, or when i just didn't want to use another perfume.

ImmiMathiassen

My favourite in the late 90’s. People asked me what I was wearing and wanted to buy it. Taxi drivers asked me too. Now I still love it but can’t see myself reaching for it so often. BUT! Today I discoverd a new way of wearing this to make it more modern / up to date. (And everybody seam to enjoy most TF Fragrances) so please try this: When you layer it with TF: Eau de Soleil Blanc edt it becomes so beautiful!

divineeze

Smells kind of soapy
I love it, it’s fresh and nice
The longevity omggg, I sprayed it 5:30 in the evening and it’s still smelling by 9:30 in the morning. Love this

rainme

I love 90's fragrances and I love most Burberry scents but there is something extremely offputting in this. A reviewer below mentioned indoles, and maybe that could be it. It's not a clean or fresh floral, there's an dirty edge to it. It smells like a ladies public bathroom, or scented panty liners. It could just be that this scent profile is old enough to have been copied by hygeine companies in their products but either way I wouldn't wear it.

mauvealert

An underrated gem--nectarines and cream in a wooded spring garden, equal parts fruity, floral and woody, it shines in warmer weather. There is a green aquatic element, like an overgrown pond, in a nice way. I never knew anyone who wore this so I am coming at it with a fresh nose. If it is a mom perfume, so be it, I am a mom after all, but to me it just smells timeless and is an easy blind reach when temps rise above about 15 C.

ETA- also great for sunny autumn days!

Caladhiel

This is SO indolic. My god, I hate it so much! Maybe I can tolerate it if I smelled it on someone but when I tested it on my wrist with one spray I almost gagged.

belinda.1

Had to sell this because it triggered my allergies, sadly. Top notes were sweet and fresh, a little bit ozonic (thought that's not listed) - I couldn't pick out any particular fruit or flower. Drydown got a bit too lingeringly heavy and woody for my preference. Probably would have kept using but for the allergies.

Caveat emptor that I am a freshie person.

stinky_inky

my mom is livid at the reformulation. not that it's "bad", it's just not her fav anymore

ingeneuxo

-Opens nice and bright. Juicy, fruity scent with a watermelon-like note to it.
-This scent carries a toned-down brightness throughout.
-Although most female-marketed scents are loud, bubbly and almost shrill in their vibes (Think: Marc Jacobs' Perfect, Viva La Juicy) this manages to steer clear of said territory.
-Overall, Weekend is a fruity femme scent that appears to have withstood the test of time.

-Those prone to headaches might wanna avoid this though. It does turn a tad perfumey in the dry-down. I'd suggest going light on the trigger, and perhaps, to avoid wearing this on planes in consideration of fellow travellers. (-)

fishandbear

This started my love for powdery and floral accords. I used to be a gourmand girl but now I'm always on the lookout for something powdery or floral/green. I don't pick up anything sweet from this and that's what I love about it. This is what I wear to convince myself that I have it together when, in reality, I'm actually going through a depressive episode.

chakukan

I picked this up in a new bottle. It smells nothing like the old. Smell exactly like OFF DEEP WOODS bugspray with the orange cap. Headache inducing and clogged my sinus' . Such an awful thing to do to an old fav. AVOID at all cost unless you have a mosquito problem...

seliko

this is what i call a mom perfume. to push it, a 2000s mom perfume. my mom used to wear this, and she still loves it, it is a floral perfume however i feel like this isn’t its only personality trait. like all scents my mom adores, this one also can’t escape the 2000s flip phone pixie hair belt with jewels driving kids to dance class no you can not play snake on my phone aesthetic. kind of like CK euphoria and DKNY perfume. maybe the nostalgia is why i like this perfume. scent wise it reminds me of euphoria, it has the same powdery floral tint to it

laurenrebeccaroth

A casual mature floral scent. Its powdery base is great for a fresh feeling. Definitely a mature scent and has a lot of nostalgia. This is an older scent for me and if I smelled it now, I would not purchase.

coffeefifofum

Trying for the first time in 2022 with a dabber bottle that came to me in a traveling sampler box. Floral with a heavy floral sweetness. Cloying. Overwhelming. Base is a powdery musk. I get no woods. Excellent projection and staying power.

I get a weekend rental house or hotel room that's been doused in air freshener smell from it. It does take me back to beach runs in the late 90s when a group of us would stay at the cheapest place we could find, carefully treading the border between dump and somewhere that will mind that we're drinking heavily and getting sand everywhere. I'm glad for the experience and the nostalgia but this isn't a perfume I want to wear.

Miss Dolittle

Just dug this out when sorting my bedroom out. I had a little left in the old style bottle. I thought, oh I will bin it. Then I thought I'll have the last spray. Gee's I forgot how much I adore it. It's floral musky and strong. I love heavy perfumes. There's something so comforting about the smell. So, decided to reorder her again, though I'm not keen on the new bottle. Such a cheap price these days but, a lux smell. Allbeauty online shop 100ml £28. A steal.

Kuty22

I bought this perfume recently
I've smelt it before, and I didn't like it then (my teens), because of the white flowers(in my head)which I do enjoy now.
Now, I know there are no white flowers, but the hyacinth intrigued me, and in general, I like the scent but the nectarine note is so dominant, at least on my skin, this comes out extremely fruity like a nectarine EDT from body shop.

Edit: I don't know about this one 😕
The new bottle is so damn ugly
I've been trying to make it work but it's slowly becoming my least favorite 😖

Edit: June 2022
Horrible scent. I think I detest this fragance, it's not bad my any means but is just 🍑 🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑

pearl421

All I have to say is I came here out of nostalgia for my 20s and these comments do not disappoint!!!

This perfume was a blind buy from my mom when i was in my early 20s and I used to spray like 1-2 sprays to go to class, and someone had once commented it was strong enough to "kill an old man".

I love the comment below about "perfect for rainy days". I totally, totally get it!!!

Sparkleball22

***Review for the formula in the newer, more slender bottle ***
First off, people saying they can’t smell the new formulation because it’s weak… you may have sniffed so much perfume that you have damaged nasal cells? This version is a Bomb. In a great way…;)

I love the fruity flowery fresh thing Weekend for Her has going on. I started with a sample of this long ago and it shocked my nostrils right away. I thought it was too strong. But I kept going back for more as my comfort fragrance! I couldn’t get over it. Note:this is a mood/season fragrance for me! Not a signature because I don’t feel this mood very often!
But when I’m needing it, it is so happy and fresh. But very flower-full!! Combined with the assertive nectarine which adds a full, fleshy, sweetness.
Sometimes it makes me think of melon, sometimes it feels very floral, but I am a big fan and I like its bold character.
Almost a grassy meadow quality that makes me breathe a little deeper. Excellent longevity and I don’t go nose blind to it so I can enjoy it all day. In the winter I crave this the most because it reminds me of spring.
This could really challenge anyone who can’t handle florals like hyacinth… maybe don’t blind buy?

_NicoleNonya

I recall getting this perfume from Marshalls in the 90's, it smelled stronger & was in thicker glass.
I got a larger bottle, it still smells great but the projection & silage isn't as good.
I would buy again as this is perfect for summer errands.
It's not over powering & is nostalgia. Seems reformulated but that's the world in which we live, I still get most of the notes from the 90's bottle.

gtabasso

sweet, bright, fresh spring or summer floral; peach blossom and mignonette that almost reads like a lily of the valley; a little watery and aquatic in nature, not salty but more like lotus

LayersAndLayers

This is the perfect scent for a rainy day. Feminine, fresh, floral without being one of those nauseating florals. Classy and office appropriate. I really enjoy this one.

A review said "Smells like linden tea with honey." -- Hmmmmmm, perfect -- ok!

----------

The name "weekend" -
I originally had an aversion to this name - because I have been working round the clock on my writing projects for years and have not been able to take a weekend off in years. Even the thought that people take weekends off, was offensive to me, until recently - when I realized that I really DO need some time off - to stop and smell the roses on occasion. Even if this is just for a few hours to clear my head, taking a nice walk during the day really makes life so much more well balanced.

Enough about that --

Weekend perfume is one of those unexpected "finds" that I first sampled as a dupe of Burberry's "Weekend". Like I said before, I never would have been drawn to this simply by the name of it, but when I actually smelled this - I really loved the vibe of this. This is fresh, clean -- like a breath of fresh air... so yeah - I can definitely see why they would have named this perfume "Weekend".

Burberry's fragrances are more casual - and can be worn every day...this is part of their attraction.

I've seen a few if the reviews here - and people rattle on and on about the fact that these are not all that special, but yet - then why are they even sampling a perfume like this? Focus on Tom Ford, Bond, etc... if that's what you are really into --- but don't slam perfumes that serve purposes that a number of people are looking for.

Finding a great every day perfume that smells relaxed and enjoyable for the weekend may seem ridiculous to some people, but there are plenty of people who are looking for something along these lines just to fit their choices for a casual afternoon to walk the dog(s) - get out of the house - and smell the roses!

This is worth revisiting - I tried the dupe as a sample, but never purchased the bottle.
I love the yellow floral type composition. This is pleasant - great for the weekend. Floral and sunny.

No, this is not something that I would wear to a formal occasion.
But yes, this is a very pleasant perfume that would serve many purposes - even on "The Weekend"!

I’ve been having a ton of 90s nostalgia. I do this thing where I obsess over older perfumes that have big cult followings or had significant mainstream success. Often I may not have ever knowingly even smelled them. I blind buy them (in this case it was only $25 at least) only to find massive disappointment. Weekend is definitely a fabric softener type scent. I was expecting peaches and hyacinth and something so cheerful and springy but it’s totally an unimpressive mainstream laundry detergent type. I’ve never liked a single Burberry so clearly something is wrong with me to have gotten my hopes up. I lean towards niche and better quality scents most of the time anyway. I remember so many gorgeous 90s fragrances (such as Byblos, Eternity, Sun Moon Stars & Pleasures) but Burberry Weekend falls short compared with those greats. It’s a simple clean yellowish fruity floral that is pleasant but doesn’t have huge longevity or trail. Definitely inoffensive, easy, fresh and casual. 4/10

I got the original squatty bottle not the new packaging. Also can’t understand the dated comments at all. This is a fruity floral just like all the current fruity florals. It doesn’t have that trademark 90s vibe at all.

Milenapitch

Did they change the bottle?

mirisfrik

Not s safe blind buy. It is clean, classy, fresh but also very yellow and has a note (which one it’s hard to tell) that does not suit me at all. It lasts the whole day, almost 12h. It even survived overspraying with brit edp. Even though I sprayed it very generous, weekend with only one spray survived and still kept reminding me of how i don’t like it.
I have new, redesigned bottle, and this perfume really is a beast and great buy for those who like the smell. Pretty unique & longlasting for ridiculous price.

alsa7

To me, this perfume smells clean, fresh. Floral with a tiny trace of powder, very elegant.
It works for office, all day long.
There is a resemblance with Regine dei Prati by l'Erbolatio, something in them makes me love them!

Rcates78

Weekend was a blind buy in a number of bottles I recently purchased and it has quickly become a new favorite (possibly signature?) fragrance. I never preferred the flagship fragrance (I think it was the peach - like syrup in my airways, I hate it in candles too) but don't judge a bottle by the company it keeps, right? I was not disappointed! It smells like a wet meadow you decide to take a shortcut through to get home after filling your basket with fresh fruit and flowers from the market on Saturday morning. There was a steady, soaking drizzle earlier, and although more rain is threatening, there's a window of gentle sunshine just now. I smell unripe nectarine, pond water, a breeze through the rain, flowers, sweet herbs, wet tree bark, and the light scent of "me" wafting off my damp dress and hair. Weekend hangs out close to my skin, pulsing at a soft and steady pace up to my nose for most of the day, on the condition that I'm freshly showered and my body oiled up before I spritz it on (otherwise it tends to wither away within a couple of hours). Today I put it on at 6am and it's still pedaling along merrily at 3pm. I'll still smell it on my shirt when I change into my bedclothes this evening. So IMHO, Weekend is just simply lovely - clean, refreshing, polite, good-humored, and easy to get along with. To me it has become a favorite aunt, a sweet friend, a secret spot in the forest where I love to play. All this to say that I will likely revisit it over and over again and never tire of it.

melissas94

I loved this from the first spray. I get the mandarines, peach and nectarine scent the most. It is very fruity, bright and super feminine. It reminds me of a bright, sunny, warm spring day sitting in a garden. I don’t find it to be old or outdated at all, personally - just an ultra feminine, girly, sweet perfume.

Phoenixpink80

On first sniff I wasn't sure about this one. It reminded me of a Yardley fragrance, but I'm not sure which (so I get the 'dated' comments).
However, the dry down is a different story, a soft, sweet, musky floral I can't stop sniffing! It's very calming and comforting. Definitely not a 'sexy' fragrance, but soft and feminine.
This is a 'feel good' fragrance for sure 😊

ssamhita

I first smelled Burberry Weekend on a colleague I highly looked up to, because she was everything I aspired to be – amazingly well-dressed, always put together, and smelling great. She was the kind who would leave a trail of perfume wherever she went. She told me this was the perfume that wouldn’t budge, and was the only one that could take the rigours of an entire day of walking up and down the stairs, taking up to seven classes, and then coming back to complete preparations for the next day. Finding a tester bottle (100ml!) that very weekend in an atrium sale at the mall next to my sister’s condo, for a very reasonable price, felt like providence. From that day onwards, this became the bottle I reached out for every single morning. Right after I put on my red, red lipstick, and right before I slipped onto my kitten heels.

Burberry Weekend is probably one of the most unique perfumes I have in my collection. I don’t think I have seen these notes in any of my other perfumes, leave alone a combination of the above. This probably explains why it is so hard for me to describe this smell. The amazing thing about this is that it smells almost the same in the dry down as it does in the opening – a fresh, straight out of the shower smell, with just a tinge of the compact powder smell and maybe, just maybe, a hint of oil. So imagine you doing your make-up in your bathroom right after your shower, improbable as it sounds, and your hair is still wrapped in a towel and you can still smell the soap on your skin. A lot of reviewers have called it dated and old-fashioned, but to me it just smells classy. I bought a second bottle after I finished my first one, and have realised that I don’t reach out for it as much as I used to when I was working. Maybe because I have stopped teaching, and I don’t associate with the teacher in me anymore?

This is not a perfume that sits unannounced in a corner, nope. In a room full of pink flowers with dainty petals, this one is a flamboyant yellow, with voluptuous petals that immediately draw your attention. You’d want to go sit next to them. You’d want to bathe in their gorgeousness. Which is why I wouldn’t call this a safe blind buy. While not exactly a polarising smell, I still belief that you’d have to have a certain something to like this. But smell it once if you can, please, and then make up your mind. This is exactly what you would want for yourself if you don’t want to smell like everyone else in the room.

Dancer_kr

Not for me. Very unpleasant and too musky for my tastes. I got a headache after trying this a couple times.

alanaronald

III'd really like to like this more. Hypothetically, the ingredients are all there for a "wow", but this seems to be a tad weak, pleasant, flowery and just "there". Yes, I like the mignonette, the nectarine & the touch of rose, but I find, in contradistinction to some, that I must apply it too heavily for my liking to register. This fragrance, in my opinion, could be perfect for a young blue-eyed, fair-skinned blonde in spring. It's perfect for someone who just wants to blend in, to remain inoffensive, yet mildly attractive. Now I'm layering it with something stronger: experimenting with a blend with Muse, (Guerlain), then I'll put some bergamot later, to see if it can strengthen this essentially good scent. In fact,I'm now imagining it with some incense to really punch it up to become something I could wear with more assurance and presence.

nouf8881

it's somehow addictive , I can't stop sniffing it lol

Kateri81

We met 20 year ago. I loved it. Three days ago, we met again. Still love. Smell of wild garden, clean laundry, make up and lipstick. The mignonette is just lovely. And the sandalwood in the drydown! Simle yet elegant, bit outdated, but in very nice way. Made mah top 5 ;)

ilayda

This perfume was a blind buy and I still do not know how to feel. Its very mature for my age, not sexy or gourmand and quite musky and powdery. I pair it with bare vanilla body spray to make it sweeter and cozier for fall and winter. Theres a floral fruity note that shines through after the initial spray that is quite nice. I would describe it as a sweet woody scent with hints of nectarine with the bosy spray which I like better then the musky green citrus of the perfume alone

SalinasL

I love this perfume. The nectarine is most prominent at first, as a general peachy fruitiness. This is one of the few perfumes I’ve found so far where the nectarine/peach is so bright and fruity rather than immediately heavy and powdery. And it’s supported by an interesting group of notes that keeps it from being a nondescript fruity floral, the mignonette which I love, and beautiful subtle rose hip. The iris and violet poke through after a while but stay in the background and never overwhelm. It’s a well-rounded, complete scent, fairly linear in a good way, and suitable for casual and semi-formal occasions. It lasts from morning ‘til night and will project as much as you want it to (I split one spray between each wrist). To me it’s, simply, one of the best.

Alexandra.kom

i snif it deeply everytime!!
one of my old time favourite perfumes!! it's is wearable every time of the day, any day of the year!

Nectarine, iris , musk , sandlewood, sage are the ones i can detect.
Blind buy it for everyone!

JaneVanDerWoodsen

Chilled, juicy nectarines and fresh, icy flowers- this perfume is so cold somehow. I don't think it's outdated at all, definitely an underrated stunner. Works beautifully during the day in any season, but I especially love it in the dead of winter.

AMAZING performance, projects very well, lasts forever.

Marina.reviews

I don't know why but to me, I smell coconut in here..... Does anyone else?

maybeascorpio

I agree, this smells very outdated. I only bought it for relinquishing some unobtainable, some vivid and barely-there memories. I was six years old, about to go on stage for a spelling bee contest I won, bitterness swallowed my small body as I'm certain I could've gotten a shinier prize. The frown turned into a affectionate smile towards my mother who was wearing this fragrance. We're not rich and I have always thought only well-off people wears this fragrance and my mother smelled like a million bucks with this on. I've forgotten the foreign feeling that was drowning me, I've never felt more warmed and at ease when my mom walked with me on stage.

MrsYes

First time smelt it back in 2007, it was too strong for me, left however a strong impression. Just bought it few days ago, i don't know whether it's me and my nose got spoilt or reformulations/thinning down took place: it smells like a fake version of itself. Dilluted and many notes missing. Meh. Will be a nice air freshener.

llamasinpajamas

it really does smell like a meadow full of spring flowers, on a rainy day -- at first. sadly after a few minutes it starts to smell like someone picked all those flowers and stored them in a dusty attic for a really long time... the word "dated" comes to mind. the opening is great, the drydown not so much for my taste. but if throwbacks to the 90's are your kinda thing, you might like this

clemmy

Thank you for your great accurate reviews fragrantica friends!
I am developing a passion or the master perfumer Nathalie Lorson, I just love all her fragrances!!
It is the perfect floral daily spring perfume, with hyacinth and mignonette (cannot detect the peach). As someone said 'Spring in a bottle' is a perfect title for this perfume. Hyacinth is not common and easy to find. This perfume doesn't resemble anything that I know, so I consider it quite unique.
It is very complex and layered, strong longevity, definitely sophisticated and underrated lately. Great for flowers lovers and office scent. My mother just stole a bottle from my fragrance counter (I had the 30 ml, then I bought the 100ml). Recommended but not a safe blind buy.4/5

Gully

I bought this a few years ago. I like Burberry for Women and compared to that, I didn't like this one as much. Just ran across this today at the back of my shelf and figured I would try it again. It is a rainy spring day here, and this scent is now wonderful to me. It smells to me of spring flowers and a touch of something I don't recognize but is soft and sweet. I definitely will be wearing this one through the Spring.

MCulpa

Love the new bottle, super simple. Cannot say how it compares to the old edition regarding the scent itself, but all I can say is that I remember loving the previous one and I absolutely adore the new one as well. Super classy, fresh, clean, elegant and beautiful. Smells like spring. I am a Burberry lover and this may just be my favorite scent from them, with Body and Beat coming close.

MamaPk

Even though it’s quite an oldie, I just discovered this recently and completely fell in love! As someone said, it is just like smelling an enormous flower bouquet.

mellymel10

This used to be in my collection years ago. I found I only wanted to wear it on rainy spring days. Weird, right?
Anyway, I would like to smell it again after all these years I have forgotten what it smells like.

StinkyTinky

Wow hi there hyacinth...
So...here’s the deal. This is just straight up floral to me. It actually legit smells like the mixed bouquet my husband bought me for Valentine’s Day a week ago. Like you stuck your face into a flower and you’re smelling the stamen..
It’s green of course, realistic floral. Perfume doesn’t really have an age to me, it’s all about taste.
I like to smell like cotton candy sometimes, maple syrup, wet cement, a bowl of berries, and sometimes like a flower.
This will do...

jterjesen

April in a bottle! Where are you, hyacinth girl? To quote Andy Griffith, “Rightchere I am, Juliette!” It’s green and smells of floral bells, wafting into powderiness. There is a datedness to it, but I kind of love it for that. It could be headache inducing, so I would only spray lightly, but it will be lovely for low-key days as the ground and the weather warms.

Sol0013

I tried this at store today after watching several positive reviews on Youtube. I sprayed it my wrist and I couldn't stand it at all. "Old" that's what came to my mind. I know this is one of the classic fragrances from the Burberry house and I'm a fan of timeless perfumes. But this... is...just...old...🙁

Mynotaur

My absolute favourite fragrance. Just picked up a couple of 100ml bottles to stash now that the reformulation is taking over shelves. How dare they!!??

Jana711xx

Horrible smells like kittty wee

Zaleska

Bought this one when it was launched. I was in my early 20s back then.
Now I have it again, as an early Christmas gift from my beloved husband.
I couldn't be happier.

chelseamurdock

This is a really lovely perfume. A sweet and fruity nectar with fresh floral notes. A touch of haziness. It’s perfect to wear in the spring and summer.

marios2014

Airy ,sweet and everyday perfume, ideal for spring season

GinCatsBooks

The description of Weekend being a "relaxing country style" scent is, at least in my opinion, spot on.
Weekend smells like a warm, sunny morning walk through a wild flower meadow in which all the flowers and grass are still covered in the morning dew and are drying in the sun. It smells very familiar to me, I cant quite place where I've smelt it before, but to me it smells how that one favourite female relative smells, shes clean, kind, caring and warm, its quite comforting and calm smelling.

I always get compliments whenever I wear it, but not in the sense that I get asked what perfume it is, no, I get told my person smells good, Weekend becomes essentially a "my skin but better" scent on me, its an easy to wear scent and never feels out of place in a formal setting either, it feels very "British".

I get a lot of the nectarine and powder from the iris and the hyacinth, the base is grounded nicely with cedar and musk, on my skin, Weekend doesn't develop much, its linear but its also not boring either, but, I will say I do not like the newer bottles that Burberry have put this wonderful juice into :(

Longevity is great, it lasts for days on clothes and for a full 24hrs on my skin, silage is strong but not obnoxiously so and also doesn't give me any headaches or sinus pain, I would repurchase this once my dome shaped bottle runs out, this is such a pleasing, all round wonderful scent!

Alyjah1234

Im a 22 year old and this smells absolutely gorgeous! I dont understand the comments about this being for an older women as its really a hyper floral perfume, i imagine a rainforest enchanted with soaked flowers particularly wet rosehip, blue hyacinth and mignonette meshed alongside a juicy nectarine and sharp green notes. One of my number one at home fragrances after the shower or just sitting around wanting a little something to boost your mood!

JolieSucre

Absolute disappointment, compared with all other Burberry creations. This is the strangest, weakest and oddest fragrance I have had and tried from the brand, and luckily it was a gift from an ex so I didn't spend any money on it. He loved it, I couldn't stand it. It does dry down a bit better, however by the time the perfume has settled, I am already sick of it and want to wash it off/wear something else.

To me, the fragrance is simple, dominated by nectarine - it smells like fizzy nectarine lemonade + has the slightly 'colder', rougher note of the hyacinth. After the initial spray, whose opening aroma thankfully doesn't last that long, I also detect something akin to a rotten banana. The scent of the brown parts of a banana. Couple that with nectarine and a whiff of hyacinth, for normality I reckon, and it is just... unpleasant.

Smells surprisingly cheap, chalky sunscreen-like and diluted peach/nectarine, compared with everything Burberry makes. To me, all their perfumes have an elegance, a weight of aroma regardless of whichever fragrance we are talking about. This perfume completely lacks that elegance, relying on a rather cloying, 'exotic' stank. Maybe that's their poor take on something 'sweet', but to me it was a huge disappointment and I gave it away as soon as I could, never to even mention it again.

Unimpressive, just like the bottle - cheap looking, understated, nothing special, rather common, with the white writing and flattened shape. Total bore, total cheap peach lemonade vibe.

I would absolutely advise against blind buys.

Mynotaur

Just received mine and it smells like it did over 10 years ago when I used to wear it. It’s nice and light but honestly smells too old for me for some reason! I don’t think it smells any weaker than it used to or watered-down like a reviewer said but I did purchase the parfum so maybe that’s it? Anyway, it’s very pretty but too powdery for me in my 30s!

Winter Sweet

Pay attention! The reformulation (in the new absurd bottle) is heavily watered down and therefore the staying power is weak. Shame on them.

Winterspring123

Sweet peach or apricot, clingy, stays close to the body. Perfect for a summer night out (at least for me)

Viktoria8267

Have this, but havent been wearing it alot, i wear it when i feel for it. Smells nice, tender, mystique.
bottle is cool and the nice color the perfume have.
bit sporty.you can wear it all year around.
have to wear this more !!!

Pearlstar

I love this fragrance. The opening is sparkling honey nectarines and the rest of the drydown is a very very pleasant olfactory journey that evolves through the day. It lasts super long on me, like 8 hrs + and I enjoy its waft throughout the day. Sniffing it gives me comfort and happiness. I enjoy wearing it both day and night. Loving this blind buy that I bought for cheap and it makes me want to check out the rest of Nathalie Lorson's creations.

Jespan81

I don’t know if something is wrong with my bottle.
To me it smells dated, very 90’s and it also comes with a hint if urine smell, absolutely horrible.

LauraHorrorwitz

I was hesitant to blind buy because of the polarizing reviews. I ended up getting a sample from The Perfumed Court and I love it. The opening definitely outshines the dry down but the entire experience is lovely. If you love a fruity floral and a powdery base please give it a chance.

Longevity is sadly 2 hours.

This is what the late 90s were allll about!

Carla Delloro

I got a bottle just today and based on the batch code, it was from 2008! Woah! But the scent is still good, thank God. It's not funky or whatever. This is a fresh floral suited for summer or Philippine weather. It's not a favorite but i am so thankful that i like the scent, as this is a blind buy. This, though, is like a somewhat of a dated scent but this would fit perfectly on a feminine mature lady... I agree on the comment below that this is a 90's scent. But i still like it.

UniProcrastinator

Bought this after trying it at the chemist. Soft tones, quite a happy and innocent smell. It is long-lasting, though applying too much will give you a headache. A good spray or two is enough for the day.

Seaworthy

I am trying this parfum today, what I have smelled on first spray and now after wearing for 4 hours is the most complex, beautiful, powdery, vintage dusty rose! Totally authentic smelling rose btw. But not strong or cloying in any respect, soft but enough to subtly remind you of it's presence as you move throughout your day. I wanted to try this fragrance because the genius behind it is Nathalie Lorson and I absolutely love every fragrance creation that I have smelled by her! I have several of her fragrances that I have bought blind and I have never been disappointed. Her fragrances are infinitely wearable and unique, they stand out from the commonplace fragrances out there.

louiee

Never have I ever...

Smelled such a lovely rose hip scent.
My elderly colleague wears this daily and it’s so god on her

Flowery and very fresh...comforting like a really expensive and rich handlotion.
This review is the smal chubby bottle.

Office safe.

Not sexy or seductive. Just really a pleasant scent in every way.

Will for sure be a big time sprin/summer favorite for me.

Reminds me a lot of forever and ever by Dior

Longevity is very god and silage fills a room but not in an intrusive way.

How can I have missed this for so long... love love love

dessybg

Много свеж и много нетраен

aldinatic

Too much herbal, too much 90 s perfume for me

Saad Sultan

Im a guy , and I love this fragrance.
ohh god this is so perfect and fresh
you would love your girl even more after smelling this scent on her
I would love to buy this for her
highly recommended !

Nataliemarie

Just so you fans know, this has been rebottled. It is in a clear round taller bottle now. FragranceX has it online.

mevans

I really get the hyacinth in this. It has a bit of sweet fruit from the nectarine. Everything else is blended. It's nothing super special, a nice summer scent. I'm happy with trying a 30ml bottle of it but I'll move on after it's done.

JustSimpleThings

Right after spritzing, it was a citrus blast, then as it dries down, the herbal notes come out. For the first hour or so, I liked it.
But another hour passed and it became very powdery, still herbal but now sweet as well, and I realised what it reminds me of- mosquito repellent candles (the citronella ones). I don't know if it's the sage, the mignonette, or what but unfortunately this puts me off of this scent.

babyrose1985

I can definately see why there are so many mixed reviews of this one. On first spray I thought oooo this is quite nice! Initial spray on my skin strangely smelt similar to paco rabanne ultraviolet only better..sorta how I was hoping ultraviolet would smell...And then it quickly turned into a NO not for me as it developed and dried down.

This perfume doesn't smell horrendous although it's bordering on it ..it smells more like those smelly things you hang in your car...it definately doesn't smell like detergent/softener to me which is what I was kinda hoping, I like scents like those..And this actually doesn't smell anywhere as nice as most softener smell..which is saying something!, this perfume isn't great in all honesty, not great atall and especially for Burberry and the price it's being sold for. It's a hard one to explain but it doesn't smell like a perfume, it smells like a car freshener crossed with those old potpourri flowers people used to have in bowls around their homes, I wouldn't want to smell like this. Not my sort of perfume atall but each to their own X

tandem_4x4

I tried it today in the chemist shop on my wrist.

It smells exactly like my laundry room, i.e. it is either same smell as my detergent or fabric softener.

It is hard for me to determine the notes, as the association with the laundry room is too strong. I would say it is "white crispy shirt" scent, perfect for office. Not sure about weekend.

Longevity and projections are very good.

natasha calli

My aunt from the States send us a bottle of this. Initially, I was hesitant because I never heard of this perfume. Burberry wasn’t actually a best seller in our country but it was such a pleasant surprise because it was so good. It was fragrant and my classmate even complimented me on this perfume. A nice, sweet daytime scent good for summer and spring. Really a wonderful scent.

pennyligeia

I fell in love with this year's ago when a co-worker received it as a gift for Christmas and began to wear it every day. It would linger, faintly, after she'd pass by, with a warm, happy, soothing scent. There was nothing harsh, nothing abrasive and at the time I thought, "I've got to have that scent."
I changed jobs and forgot about it. Years went by and I happened to come across it on Amazon, discounted tremendously, so I bought it. It was as I remembered, but stronger, since I was spraying in myself. I received so many compliments from men.
One day I had a doctors appointment and had to fast for blood work. I had the beginning of a headache and made the mistake of spraying it prior to heading out for the drive, which was about an hour. I was sick by the time I arrived. It really wasn't the fragrances fault, but I haven't gotten past the association, yet.
Maybe later.

raiza1990

Clean, powdery and fresh with a vintage vibe. Reminded me of Chloé fragrances and Glow by JLo. It’s one of those scents that smell like sweet washing powder or handmade soap. It’s not the kind of perfume i normally wear, but i like it. It has its charm. It’s feminine and relaxing.
I recommend it to a modern virgo girl, who likes to spend time in nature and is a bit nostalgic.
Sillage is soft, but the scent is not weak. Longevity is 3 hours and counting.
Final note 8/10

Claire35

I was given this perfume as a present. At first I thought it would have been a "retro" scent, one of those white floral/powdery scents that my Nana used to use in the early 90s.
However, after the very first use, positively impressed by the slightly fruity/floral notes. Lovely dry-down on my skin and good longevity. I really love it!! Very clean and relaxing scent, almost effortless. Slightly reminds me of Gucci Bloom in some notes.

lrnonken

a really nice strong opening, easy-going floral and soapy, but then on my skin it turns odd and somewhat sour, and then just fades away in 3 hours

therose7

One of my favourites, just beautiful. Fresh, classic, summery and bright, a light sweetness but not syrupy. Reminds me of early summer and fashion. I always receive comments. I've had a few Burberry scents over the years and this is my new go to. One of those ones where you sniff the tester and know it is going to be loved.

JenSin

A sunshine filled day, hyacinths, a cross between fresh cut grass and hay, a little nectarine on a base of musk and sandalwood. I wore Burberry Woman for years and decided to try another classic Burberry fragrance. Clean and crisp. Great for causal or office wear.

roxyjuliet

I purchased this fragrance after listening to a review that suggested its happy qualities 'sunshine in a bottle'. When described like this how could I not buy it?

I agree that this is a happy sunny fragrance, reminiscent of the smell of fresh laundry hanging out in the midday sun. Flowers bask in the sun's warm rays. A nectarine tree is present and gives off its warm fruity aromas.

Burberry Weekend has moderate projection on me and lasts well. If I spray it on myself at bedtime I can still smell the fragrance next morning. I use 4-6 sprays. This would be a beautiful fragrance for a spring or summer picnic.

Edit - this is a gorgeous scent - I'm buying another bottle.

ModernClassic1

This one dries down to a subtle clean scent that you enjoy on yourself while running errands or shopping in the weekend. It's a break from the weekly routine with its powder and lemon citrus smell. Pleasant, I wear when I want to feel bright and relaxed. Happy scent.

DarlingNikki

Smelled a sample of this once and it was a horrific mixture of in-your-face synthetic, sour nectarine (a note that I'm finding I don't like at all) and suffocatingly powdery violets. Not the kind of weekend that I'd like to have by any means.

aeva86

There is something in this perfume which smells just awful on my skin. I don't know if it's the iris or the violet or what, but when I wear this I don't like it. I got it from my mother, she didn't like it either so she gave it to me. I don't own many perfumes, so I've tried to wear it, I've really tried to like it, but I just can't.

Undinah

And I got it. Totally blind buy. I thought I never smelled it in my life (which is surely not true, since i did, (it smells so familiar and warm and cozy to me), but never knew it was the Weekend). It's pretty cold outside here in Russia, around -2 Celsius. I just received the bottle, opened it right away. Sitting here, in a park, watching my child playing, the sun starts coming out, I sprayed it on my wrist, found that classical piano music like Chopin would suit it perfectly- put the headphones on, having my coffee and life seems soooo sweet right now. Yes, I can smell the honeyed nectarines, was really afraid of them, since i had couple of unpleasant experiences with peach notes in perfumes, those smelled very artificial, these nectarines are ripe and extremely delicious. Little powder and some honey it all makes me feel soo cozy and happy. Yes, I can also smell that lemonade note which gives it a spark. Gotta let the bottle rest a little and see how it opens up later. So far im in love again! Funny how this happens, as i never have that first-sniff-love. Never. It's always just later on, when i "feel through" the perfume and it "penetrates" into my whole being- then I feel the love. Weekend also is very classy one, which makes it more precious to me

Amy Ann

I don't know why some people say it "relaxing" in my opinion it is a pure business smell, it was created for professional woman for day perfume. I find this perfume absolutely strange, I smell it on a young Romanian businesswoman at a conference and I was damn sure it is Amarige first after 20 minutes I change my mind and I asked her: oh, you and your Trussardi again dear? ( we have absolutely the same taste in perfume and I absolutely adore her, she remember me of myself in the young age) She smile and say nope Amy it not, after one hour I was very determined to discover what this great smell is and she never tell me but 4 months later on my birthday she sent me a bouquet of garden flowers with this perfume in the middle and a written note who say: this is the smell, happy anniversary. For that moment I love this smell.
It soft, elegance, not to powerful and very peached one.

meg0825

Weekend is casual and relaxed but still a classy fragrance. I remember smelling this in magazines during the 90's. I just never got around to buying it until now. Sweet and juicy nectarine mixed with some herbal notes and green hyacinth. The dry down is soft and musky woods. I'm really glad I made this purchase. Very happy with this fragrance!

Phantomias

Nectarine opens, florals follow. Soapy with a hint of bug spray, this one's a fail. The bottle's cute enough, but the scent isn't worth the money.

Some Burberry perfumes are quite nice, and I have a few. This one seems a poor effort for an otherwise good line.

pamelalasalle110

I purchased this perfume mid-autumn as a gift to myself while Christmas shopping, and glad that I did. As a lover of all things Burberry, this fragrance didn't fail. Burberry Weekend has become my new signature scent. It has the perfect amount of class and sexiness, without being obvious or overwhelming. Reminiscent of a rich floral garden with warm woody undertones, and just the right amount of juicy fruits. Can be worn any time of day or year. One of my favorite Burberry fragrances.

darcy_xx

I owned this so long ago when i was not that into perfume and got many compliments. I smelled Amouage Honour (I am pretty sure its this one) recently and it smells so much like Burberry weekend, I am surpised no one mentioned this!

liverpudlian78

I bought this blind a couple of years ago in TK Maxx. At first, I thought it was alright; feminine, floral and spicy. After a few wears though, I don't like the dry-down at all: it is predominantly a very heavy, hyacinth scent that is very cloying. I don't feel refreshed or pretty when wearing it. Someone has mentioned layering with Esterr Lauder Beautiful, so maybe I'll get a sample of that and give it a go, but I'm not convinced. Perhaps this is just TOO floral for me.

giuseppe98gp83

well-built burberry, a fruity / floral class with a bursting nectarine. Absolutely spring / summer. I like it!

LateBloomer

In the UK...gray skies, a cold drizzle, a biting wind...ducking into a tea room and the smell of sweet baked goods and warm fruit tarts with steaming aromatic tea...then stepping back out into the chill just as the sun bursts through the clouds and you feel the happy, welcome glow of it on your face...

That is the feeling I get from this perfume.

Alces Alces

Weekend is fresh and relaxing, floral but in a different way. It helps reset my nose and psyche when I have worn a lot of heavy or complex fragrances or when I have been under a lot of pressure. Kind of like taking a day to goof around outside. This is a low-stress scent that doesn't announce itself or demand your attention, like a really good old dog at your feet. I mean that in a flattering way.

Some reviews say it's not subtle and elegant, but I think there is a natural elegance in taking time to be outside on a clear day, and that's how this makes me feel. Perhaps it's the odd blooms you don't typically see: peach blossom, mignonette, hyacinth, rose hip (not a bloom, but still unusual). These oddments of floralcy create sort of an outdoors-when-things-are-blooming feel. Weekend reminds me of flat spaces where I run, flanked by wildflowers and weeds. It's not natural smelling, but somehow makes me feel as if I am out in nature.

Tvv2005

My nose just loves this smell. It has a distinguished smell and it lasts a long time. I feel relaxed and beautiful and free with this perfume. Love it.

sibaraa

This was one of my favs in the late 90's. A nice floral fruity perfume. U can smell the nectarine note from spaces. Still, was never cloying, i might buy it again if i find it on sale.

Stasi

I blind bought this fragrance and disliked it from the first sniff. Months later I decided to give it another try and I still hated the top middle which are dominated by blue hyacinth (in my opinion it's a bit mumsy), but that base though... The dry down is beautiful, but it's not worth the wait.

There needs to be something between like and dislike - a meh button.

pyttlc

This is really classic and one contribution to the 1980-90's gems.
It's relaxing and alive. Not only for casual weekend, business is also ok. From the first sniff,i can detect its quality. Yes, there's something quality of this.Apart from its fruit and floral, there's an earthy even animalic thing.

Staying power is amazing.I sprayed on a piece of paper and it last for weeks. For me it's right for all seasons.Whenever i wear this, i feel pleasant.

masako_30

I discovered, and bought, Weekend by chance years ago, while almost all the girls wore D&G (red cap).
It has been like leaving the choir, albeit remaining in theme.
There is a lot of character in this (frosted bottle) perfume!

MixedTastes

A very realistic, heady hyacinth in the first stages, then goes through a brief fizzy lemon sherbet stage before drying down to a lingering floral musk.

This is a nice just-out-of-the-shower fragrance for me, or perhaps an office safe scent for spring and summer days. Not as deliciously feel-good as the peachy warmth of Burberry’s original fragrance for women, but delicate, versatile and a strong like.

dglightblue

Weekend by Burberry
First off my bottle isn’t Matt like the photo, mine I sent clear glass. The liquid isn’t as yellow either.
Second I must be getting s different perfume than what’s been reviewed here...
I agree with one comment that has this being of a soft woody base. I think that tempers the whole fragrance so well.

First impression
Fruit, watery, fresh (although I was in a bathroom post shower).
This isn’t juicy or tart, the fruit element was ‘yellow’ not sweet either. Perhaps a floral with that now I think about it.

Second, as it develops
Aldehydes... perhaps, I hate them normally, but something I smelled reminded me of fragrance si didn’t like, which are of aldehydes in some way, but this is nice and pleasant.
Very soft sunshine floral with a powdery (edge only, not a flowery sweet powder) floralness, which is when I seems to detect the blonde type woods.

Overall I think this is a very nice blend, great to feel clean but if you aren’t feeling like an aquatic or herby fresh mood coming on. Sunshine, watery (only at the first few mins, but then I was in bathroom), floral, woods, slight powder (not baby powder).
Softly fresh with a nice sillage, not leaning toward a specific group.

Thumbs up

Winter Sweet

Chill out! It really gives me a sense of relaxation. I like it a lot.
Smells similar to yellow Akat deodorant spray for women. (And I do not intend to demean it)

PS: After writing my review, I checked out the fragrance description.
Yes! It is truely a relaxing country style scent!

charlie.aeroplane

All Burberry scents are like, if I smell on someone else I would say Wow, you smell soooo gooooood and if I wear them it just doesn't feel right, like I strongly like most of them but they aren't me. (not with all but the majority)
The same case in here, it's very pretty I mean I would like to own and wear it sometimes but it will always feel to me like I have stolen someone scent.
It reminds me of freshly washed lingerie strung in a garden with sweet riped flowers at a silent summer noontime when you can only hear bees, ladybugs, and other insects sounds. indeed smells like linden trees.

Mariel-fragrances

Even though it´s a classic, I have discovered it just now!
What a lovely white floral!
It opens with the typicall sharpness that white florals tend to have, but it does so in a very delicate and sophisticated way. I feel like there are bubbles all around me.. clean flowery bubbles.
It gives me the feel of a laundry shop, but a very elegant and sophisticated laundry shop haha.
Love it !! The nectarine note goes perfectly with the hyacinth.. it´s just clean and happy magic!
Wereable to any occasion. Not a sexy scent. It´s rather a very relaxing, happy, soapy, clean, sophisticated, elegant but not too elegant scent… casual and romantic, but not “rosy romantic”.
It makes me love myself everytime I wear it. It makes me happy!
I am thinking on taking this one for my trip to Cuba next month  .

Suitable all year round, from summer heat to cold winter. Very versatile.
Great performance! Very good longevity and surprising sillage on the first 3 hours.. then it sits closer to the skin but you can definitely notice it´s still there.

Longevity: 8 hours easy, some times 10 hs.

Sillage: great sillage for the first 3 hours, then it sits closer to the skin.

Bottle design: it´ very simple and casual. No complaints here.

Overall, I can see myself repurchasing this one, it´s a great one! Well done Burberry !

Mbrock

I love hyacinth & thats what this mostly is. Its a very casual floral perfume. Perfect for a lazy weekend day. Its a lovely scent. That being said, even layered with the matching lotion im only getting about 4 hours longevity with it. I have perfumes Ive paid half as much for that last twice as long.

charity.julieth.lara

NOTHING SPECIAL...Let me tell you that

EmilyCora

Fruit juice sweet, generically floral, mildly powdery, unintimidating, inoffensive, screams '90s. Honestly, pretty forgettable but pretty nonetheless.

YKem

Although synthetic it's a nice scent nevertheless. I have bought it for my mother..
It's a versatile scent that can be worn anywhere and best suited for spring.
It has decent sillage..but do not overspray this because it is really overwhelming.

Longevity is up to 6 hours

Sillage is around 2 meters or 6 feet...

Germanblonde

I lost it during a move, and when it disappeared there was no love lost. It has a synthetic scent to it, almost like bathroom cleaner, throw in some sweet aspects and a big flower bouquet, and voila, there is Weekend. It is a fragrance that will haunt me forever. Just looking at a Weekend bottle makes me nauseous.

bibibling

I didn't want to believe it but it's true. The newer clear bottles really are re-formulated. The older, frosted "Week end" had a much more natural juicy true nectarine feeling with a stronger floral background whereas the clear "Weekend" bottle has a strong but artificial peach note that is extremely similar to the one in D&G's The One (don't include any vanilla) and the floral stuff is much more subdued. They must have used a different chemical to make the nectarine note. I would have thought this was a fake had I not been in an actual department store and known beforehand about the new clear bottles!

If you can get your hands on the frosted bottle, buy it, but if it's the clear bottle, be sure to smell it first to make sure you still want it, especially if you have anything from D&G's The One line, because owning both would feel redundant even though to me The One is a wintery perfume and Week end/Weekend is summery, but that peach(nectarine?) note is exactly the same. Just one is embraced with warm vanilla and the other framed by cool hyacinth and vague flowers.

minusvminus

Cannot cope with that overpowering wall of nectarines. Literally exchanged 5 minutes after the blind buy. Luckily even though it is loud, the longevity's short.

AntigoneAscending

This is a beautiful, sunny, peachy floral. It is soft and simple but absolutely lovely. Burberry really nailed the whole idea of "Weekend" with this one.
To me it smells like lazy winter days spent snuggling on the couch. It is cozy and comforting, but without the being sweet or reeking of vanilla. It brings light upon first spray, like the sun shining through your windows waking you softly from sleep. It is soft and so so charming.

chrisdimple87

This perfume to me is just unique and so fresh....
Overpowering when I sprayed too much on me once, with the right amount of spraying...it’s fun-reminds me of a fun loving ,smart and a carefree person when I smell this.suited for corporate woman and also for casual occasions, citrusy in the beginning and settles down really well on my skin..longevity around 4 to 5 hours with moderate sillage..definitely a good one at an affordable price!

Nuitdenoel

I love this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but to me, this absolutely does not smell of anything terrible or bathrooms. To my nose, it is the smell of a a warm flower garden that has predominately hyacinths and irises, but also has an orchard where the fruit is fully ripe and succulent. You get hints of all this on a delicate breeze. Weekend is not a strong fragrance and very work appropriate. I have had four or five bottles of this over the years (I used to be a one perfume at a time person!) and I wore it everywhere. Based on reviews, this is probably not a safe blind buy, but I encourage you to try it out.

VVM

To me it smells like public bathroom or cheap hair salon... somewhere... I don't know where... maybe on the outskirts of Shanghai? It has nasty and offensive to my nose generic aroma. Sorry Burberry, it's horrible. I can't even recollect how on Earth I got a bottle of it, might be a present from someone. Rid!

who.am.i.you

@Timby I think it's the Blue Hyacinth which is a note in Cabotine...I know what you mean. I also think this is really nice when it dries down a bit to the heart and base.

I did not think I would like this perfume given that it's a powdery floral...and yellow. I seem to only really like yellow perfumes when they are amber, honey-based or tropical. This was a surprise to me. It seemed kinda "meh" when I first sprayed, like something a little too 90s, then it mellowed down and I kept getting wafts of a what I can only describe as a warm, autumn wind. It's probably supposed to remind people of summer, but this reminds me of the cusp of autumn when summer is leaving her trail behind...

Makes me think of the last of the wildflowers, falling leaves, and the warm sun peeking through a cool breeze.

zhaine

i never hated a parfume as much as i hate this one, i got it as a gift, smells weird citrus

margarita.angelova

It smells strongly of soap. Quite uninteresting one.

I really like this fragrance, but in the most recent wear, I did notice a high top note thst i don't like at all...reflections of a common note to Cabotine.

Fortunately for me, that top note goes away quite quickly. And then I love the fragrance. Easy to wear, office appropriate...casual. Soft, feminine...and lasts quite long on me.

I would buy it again.

atractenberg

It smells sweet and light. One of my favorite Burberry perfumes.

I think I finally understand why this is named Weekend. Weekends are for relaxing. For no responsibilities. A chance to renew yourself for the next week to come.

To my (admittedly amateur) nose this fragrance doesn't demand attention or include loud notes that require strategic placement for "responsible wear". It's blended well, it's fresh, it's smooth, and it's a crowd-pleaser. Great for all seasons, for office settings, for errands... it's great in just about any situation. It's also a good "break" fragrance when you feel like you've been perfumed out.

And just like the weekend, it never lasts as long as I'd like.

I am very happy to own Weekend. By the way, I have Cabotine, and this does not smell like Cabotine. At all. Weekend starts as a very nice, sunny, sweet scent, then gradually goes milky, lacto-floral on me while remaining smooth, fuzzy and round. Its longevity is to die for. I guess just goes on and on forever, as my friend made it a point to recall and ask me what scent I was wearing when I met her last weekend, the fragrance was still lingering on her car seat and she loved it. Gifted her a bottle, and made sure I bought myself a new one. And many other people ask me what I am wearing, its a very pretty scent. It reminds me of a milk maiden churning butter & making salted sweet butter toffee in an English country farm with haystacks, wooden fence and very pretty smelling blue & yellow flowers lining the way side. If I could rename it, I would love to call this Burberry Buttercup. Yummy and pretty. I can almost eat it.

Hyacinth. Ugh.

Sometimes if you don't like a note, then it's all you can smell. That's my trouble with Weekend - I simply cannot get past the wall of hyacinth.

This one reminds me a lot of Cabotine, but Weekend has a more forward peach note.

This one was a "Meh" for me. Had a bottle back in the late 90s or early 2000s. It wasn't a particularly memorable or distinctive scent but it was fresh and inoffensive for the office. I didn't repurchase because it did not last particularly well on my skin.

wingkienusanti

it's been long time since i had this one. and i did not like it.. the mixture between floral and powdery makes it smells like a bug spray

Annnelii

Almost blind-bought it twice. Thank God I didn't because once I got around to test it, it smelled like flowery bathroom aerosol spray on my skin!

Burberry weekend is great for winter. It lasts a while and smells powdery.

eleanor.lepage

Weekend is just gorgeous. The name is perfect. It does have a relaxed feel & is equally at home lounging around reading in bed on a cool rainy day or tramping about on a winter bushwalk. I won't wear this to work (even though it's a perfect office scent - inoffensive & subtle, soft floral & gentle citrus) because I love saving it for the weekend. It evokes feelings of happiness, relaxation & carefree days - exactly how your weekend should be. I absolutely love it in cooler weather but it's citrusy freshness means it can also be beautifully refreshing in the heat of summer.

jreyes366

What is it about 90's scents that really speak to me? This beautiful gem is just absolutely divine.

The fruity, powdery, floral and green notes in this are just blended to perfection! This scent is one that I feel most people could wear, But the florals in this can be a bit strong.

I believe that this scent performs its best in really hot weather. The freshness really stands out and it lasts all day long.

lilybet11

To my nose, Weekend is similar to Burberry in that it starts off by smelling like Smarties tablet candies, although maybe a tad sharper. I was hoping for a dry down similar-ish to Burberry (I get vanilla/cedar from that one), but alas, it was not to be. While it does get a bit powdery, Weekend never loses the basic Smarties scent on my skin. It's not bad, but I can't say I'm thrilled with it - kind of makes my teeth ache (though that's probably because the candy does too).

Longevity is very good - 12+ hours later, and still going strong. Sillage is moderate. Probably better suited for spring/summer.

What can I say about this perfume?
It has it all, the freshness, the elegance.
My mother had this & I remember as a kid I'd always sneak into her bedroom just to smell it out of the bottle.
The memories it brings back.
Reminiscence of my youth..
Buying this was definitely not a regret.

iamoir

Oh the 90's perfume! Everyone and their mother were wearing this puppy! Can't blame them, it's a pleasant scent.

The opening is damn citrucy and kind of sour, but that somehow evaporates(?) really quickly, it sets without any sour note. It reveals its softness right from the start, feels green, not sweet at all, almost flirty. Fresh, reminds me of vacation, summmer. Ten minutes after the initial spritz the powder will kick in and linger for ever. The florals though appear approximately an hour or two later, and this is how it sets. Peachy, clean, SOAPY as hell, pleasant and inoffensive.

It does not remind me of Bank of England scents. It can be worn by women of all ages. Douse yourself with it. It is that safe and pleasant. The sillage is pretty good for a powdery fragrance and it's quite long lasting, it won't bail you.

Weekend really is suitable for calm and interesting individuals. To me it sits in the background, it's not going to get noticed much.

Let's get to the notes:
Notes that i GET: nectarine, peach blossom, rosehip, musk
Notes that i get A LITTLE: blue hyacinth, sandalwood, red cyclamen
Notes that i do NOT get at all: mignonette, iris, sage, violet root, cedar
Mandarin orange is present only at the opening, it's gone within at least ten minutes

Wear this at work, wear this on vacation, by all means wear it everywhere, you cannot go wrong with it. Wear this with a classy cleavage showing long white dress, or even beige, wear subtle jewelry with it, pair it with thin strap sandals, heel or flat. Jeans work as well. The color of it is between white and beige, not yellow

I didn't expect to like this as much as I do. I even voted this as a "love"! I watched my best friend's reptiles while she was on vacation this summer and she has a few perfumes, so naturally I spritz. :)

I am not typically a green floral lover, but there's something about this that makes me think of nature. I think it's good to wear for most of the year, and not just a summer scent. I'm wearing this on a rainy autumn day and it is performing beautifully. It is crisp, green, yet powdery, which warms up the composition. It helps that I layered with Alien Essence Absolue. In the summer, I'd wear it alone or with something fresh as it has a fizzy aspect to it that makes it fresh. I don't have many complaints about this scent at all. I purchased my own bottle and I understand it's a reformulation. The first time I tried it was out of a frosted bottle and the one I purchased is clear. I think the older one maybe was a bit more powdery, but otherwise, it invokes a very similar reaction within me. This is signature-scent worthy.

MissIness

One of my co workers had Weekend as her signature. All her work place was smelling like citrus and peaches. Then I was impressed how perfume can be different on people. On me it was only green floral and fruits going bad haha. On her it was crisp and fruits full of dripping juice!

Heliotropea

I have Burberry Weekend for Women and Estee Lauder's Beautiful. I didn't care much for either of them on me. Then I read a suggestion in one of the reviews and layered them. Now I can enjoy the scent of these two combined. They definitely smell better together.
Thank you, Mystica.

Mignonette (Reseda odorata).
Cool, fresh, slightly bitter saccharin sweetness. Out of this world.

Burberry Weekend was my true love, it is my first high ended fragrance i bought 3 years ago when i was in new town and have new job, this one made me addicted to perfumes and it is very dear to me still. Sunny and sweet, clean and powdery, makes me feel relaxed and cozy in winter days. I can always tell when i spot someone have this on.
