I've been looking for a dupe of this gem, and of course there's nothing like it, BUUUUT, I purchased the Miris impression (Amazon) for $23dlls, and I can tell you it's very very similar, kind of linear, but I really liked it! So if you are looking for a cheap dupe, try it! 🤩✌🏻

A forever love for me, having worn it for years I was heartbroken when it got discontinues.

I have tried multiple dupes and can confirm that Éclat 222 RAR smells just like the original, maybe a tiiiiny bit less berry-y. Not usually a fan of dupes but trust me and others having recomended this one! 💜

I've probably reviewed this before, somewhere back there, but have just had a flash of nostalgia for Gucci II.
I wasn't a fruity perfume lover at all back then but someone at work had this and I did end up with a mini or something at some point and surprisingly became addicted.
It was always RASPBERRIES for me and I loved it.
Why do such great perfumes get discontinued? 😭

Selling an original 50ml bottle (square as in photo), recently opened from box and only tested once. In the EU.

I've had this for many years, but I never wear it. It is one of those fragrances that smells alright, but I never, ever reach for. Today, I decided to be adventurous and wear it outside of my home. It has been many years since I've worn it. First of all, the atomizer, at least on my bottle sucks! I can only get a little bit of the product at a time. I'm an over sprayer! I need a great atomizer! Secondly, in the initial spritzes, there is a pencil lead smell that is super annoying. Luckily, that disappears in the dry down. As a result of the "pencil lead" note, I decided to pair Gucci eau de Parfum II with Body Fantasies' Jasmine and Lily. These two work awesomely together. The longevity on this fragrance is over 5 hours on my skin and it dries down to a skin scent. In my opinion, this is an acquired taste--not a safe blind buy.

Drop what you’re doing , go to Miris website or find Miris on Amazon. They have a dupe of this perfume for suuuper cheap. It might even be better than the original. Longevity is great and I’m very surprised that the quality is there for such a low price. I bought a dupe of this perfume from Fragrance Revival and that was pure garbage (alcohol with a bit of diluted berry in it , but way more expensive).
I haven’t smelled this perfume for more than 10 years. However, my thoughts back then were that this perfume is fresh, fruity, green but has a sharp almost bitter note in it. Somehow Miris was able to replicate the perfume without that sharp bitter note, which made it even better in my opinion. What I’m smelling right now is citrus, berry and greens. I’m obsessed! so happy I was able to find such an affordable and beautiful dupe. I also bought Gucci Rush II and DKNY Be Delicious from them and love those too! They were buy two , get one free!

A clean and youthful fragrance, I picture a girl in her mid teens wearing this. For me, the scent is a green floral, and almost cold. Could be worn both in summer and in the cooler months. I like that it's not one of those sweet, gourmandy perfumes that has spread across the market. If this has been discontinued I hope Gucci brings it back.

This was a blind buy for me as a YouTuber said it was their favourite perfume and raved about it, the notes sounded like something I would really enjoy. I was so disappointed when I first used this. If I would have tried it first I would have never have purchased. All I can smell is pine needles and mosquito spray. I tried to apply it again tonight to give it another go. It smells even worse than I remember. :-(

I absolutely loved this fragrance, sad it was discontinued. However I would love to thank everyone in the comments who recommended the dupe from Eclat no.222 oh my goodness it’s a fantastic dupe! It arrived in the UK super quickly from Germany. I’ve been walking about feeling like I’m in my early twenties again. I recommend this to anyone who is in search of this perfume, you won’t be disappointed.

A nice clean smell. More of a once in a great while frag for me as my favorite continues to be patchouli heavy angel. I will hang on to my bottle now that I see they stopped making it which is a shame.

I love the freshness that comes from the fruit but is not extra sweet, it s a lot of greenness for me and woodyness which i found fascinating and very charming from the very first sniff.

I am not a fragrance expert, but Gucci EDP II was my signature scent for years and when I smell Angel Nova on my skin several hours after ONE spray (because it is A LOT), it reminds me of the Gucci EDP II dry down. I always see the Gucci II described as a fruity floral, but to me it was more a fruity-woody scent and that is what I get at the end of Angel Nova (after you get through the rose - there is a very distinct rose stage that Nova has that EDP II obviously does not have). Would be curious if anyone else notices a similarity or if I just became so nose blind to the Nova that I wasn’t really smelling it properly anymore at that stage.

I was lucky enough to find this gem right before they discontinued it. I'm using it only on special occasions because it's a green, woody, fresh scent that I adore which is unlike anything else in my extensive collection.

This was my absolute FAVORITE in high school/college and could NOT live without it! It’s fresh and floral but also woodsy. Literally the best scent ever and I’m so heartbroken gucci discontinued it. I’ve been trying to find a dupe but have been completely unsuccessful until I came to this website. Apparently there is a dupe called eclat no 222 from a German store, HOWEVER, I have been unsuccessful in purchasing it because they don’t deliver to the US? I even called, texted and emailed the company who told me they did not ship to the states, which confused me because I saw another comment that didn’t have an issue purchasing. So if anyone has any tips or tricks to ordering this scent you would literally be making my life complete because if it’s even 50% of how this fragrance smelled I’d be ecstatic! Please message if you can help me I’d owe you everything 🥰

This is one of my absolute favorite perfumes and I still kick myself over tossing out the last few squirts from my 1oz bottle back in 2011. I hope Gucci brings this back. I ended up purchasing several bottles of a dupe from eclat.de called No. 222 on mention from Kaliyanei and Aneta_Kometa. I'm from the US and purchased directly from the German site. They updated the order within a few days to add shipping and it took about a month to get to me but well worth it! It's not a 100% dupe (though I have to admit, it's been over 10 years since I smelled the original). I remember the original being more fruity with the berry notes and crisp/clean with the slight pepper note - elegant yet worked for casual outings as well. This dupe is more floral on clothes, but on skin is pretty spot-on with the berry notes I remember. Longevity isn't as good as the original imo, but I'm extremely pleased to have this in my collection! I felt it was important to update with my experience for those in the US who saw the same mentions but weren't sure about purchasing.

Notes that stand out strongest for me are green, powdery and violet. It’s a masterpiece of a scent with ultra fem’, freshness that reminds me of spring and makes me reminisce about my youth and puts me in such a happy mood - a real treat - yet, they discontinued it! I got hold of the last two bottles I could but, private sellers were selling them at astronomical prices so I had to give it up despite it being my favourite perfume of all time but, Gucci have opted to deprive me of it! So gutted.

I just bought a 1.7 fl oz bottle, (the rare pink bottle) and this scent is not for me. Like someone else mentioned below I smell pepper, citrus, berries and wood. Elegant, and fresh. I will be selling this if anyone is interested.

I wore this scent for years when I was around 17-20 years old and I llllloved it. This was really a great scent for a loud, smily teenage girl, fully in love :)

It's amazing fresh, floral and fruity unique scent. It stays on my skin for a long time.

I love Gucci II! I get pepper, berries and wood. Very elegant, not too sweet. Shame they discontinued it!

For anyone looking for something similar, check out Marc Jacobs Daisy Love! As soon as I tried it on the skin it reminded me of Gucci II - not identical, so different enough that each stands on its own, but it has that same lovely peppery berry.

This perfume lives up to the hype for me! I bought it last year for a really good price from someone and then resold it in the fall because it seemed like more of a spring/summer perfume to me, and I regret doing that because I had to pay WAYYY more to buy it again recently lol… It’s so gorgeous and unique and fruity/woody/floral. I think it would be hard to dislike this frag. I hope Gucci brings this back like they did Gucci Rush

Antoine Maisondieu fantastic perfumer that one very gifted. Red berries, Peony and Heliotrope for the win. Fruity floral all the way nice.

I bought a new, sealed 30ml from a huge famous online retailer. Def real.
It was expensive, and I blind bought it (yes I fall for hype) as I love EDP I, so I assumed I’d love this one.
Having now smelled it, I recognise it as the signature scent of a girl I went to university and then worked with. Her clothes smelled like this. She’s actually the one who introduced me to Gucci EDP I; she had a 30ml spray in her spare bedroom, and I loved it from first sniff. Gucci by Gucci became my signature scent after you couldn’t buy EDP I anymore.
However this one, EDP II, is not a love for me. I wish I could find the original one new, as I hate buying from eBay and don’t know enough about the bottles of it to spot a fake. I love amber frags though, so perhaps it’s not fair to directly compare 1 and 2, as 1 is a lovely strongly woody amber, and 2 is the complete opposite, a fruity leaning softly woody floral.
Gucci EDP II is nice. It’s very floral, bright and fruity (think the slight sourness of blackberry), with a slight soft cedar and a definite touch of powder. It’s a young frag to my nose, but isn’t sugary sweet. Definitely recognisable. Nothing like anything else I’ve smelled, reminds me of a blackberry herbal tea.

I am so crazy happy that i have found a DUPE of this perfume, thanks to someone who commented below (thank you so much to this person, i can’t seem to find the comment back). I have been so desperately looking for this smell, when i’ve read the comment about the dupe, i took the risk of ordering a dupe version of this perfume and MAN IT SMELLS FOR 90% the same to me. In case someone is looking for it, the website is called: eclat.de and the number of the perfume is 222.

I hope that people who love this smell so much like me will buy it there, so they will keep making it. I am even worried about the fact that when nobody buys it, there will probably be a risk of them not making it anymore.

I have had more than 50 perfumes in the past decade but this one is my all time favorite... I have known this one for more than 15 years. I cannot explain why or which notes specifically but i think the combination of all the notes it’s just so unique to me.

It’s smells like a fierce and passionate woman who knows what she wants without being arrogant, and a little sexy as well. Not like a sweet and lovely girl scent to me. Not too sweet but still feminine enough. Really nothing smells like it to me. This perfume will have a special place in my heart for the rest of my life ❤️.

Very pleasant, very ”pink” but without being sweet just spicy,
fruity and fresh, I really like it but wouldn’t say that it’s the very best fragrance ever, as some claim based on the comments below. Of course, it’s all subjective in the end and fragrances mean different things to different people. But there are LOTS of more interesting and unique (yet appealing) fragrances out there, so calling it the best is a bit of a stretch in my (subjective 😉) opinion.

Nevertheless, a good spring fragrance. BUT the performance is so weak, it only lasts 2 hours on me. 😭

funny story... my birthday is coming up and i dreamed my husband gifting me this perfume gucci ll in full sized bottle and another 30ml size. it was so real that i could smell it in my dream and woke up in such good mood😄
i had this fragrance several times and everytime i finished one i got another one. i get bored easly and i don’t really have a signature scent but for me it could be easily gucci ll.
this was literally best perfume of all times. smells like heaven. perfectly balanced between fruity, floral and green. very long lasting and not heavy, very bright, suitable for every season. the scent it self is on the cooler side so it’s ideal in a warm weather, but can be easlily worn all year around.
gucci have to bring it back, exactly the same formulation! maybe a different bottle. it is the best scent ever. its just beautiful. i really miss it.

Please bring back this Perfume, Gucci! Man, why do they discontinue the good fragrances. They should bring back Gucci II & Gucci rush, maybe with a new packaging and new campaign but please don‘t discontinue them forever...

Edit: Aahhh I got it! After a few months of searching, I got super lucky and finally got a big bottle of this from a verrryy generous person. My heart could explode. It's everything I remembered it to be, and I'm so glad to find it again! I gotta ration my sprays, so I'm def still hoping that Gucci revives this one or I can find a good dupe easily accessible in the US. I've tried most of the top recommended ones on here, none of which really come close. But I just ordered Peony & Peppercorn from Banana Republic, so I'll be able to do a comparison & review once it gets here. Fingers crossed!

I FINALLY found the perfume I was looking for!! I had a sample of this back in the day (mid to late 00's) that I kept in my wallet/coin purse. I loved it so much, but never had the funds to purchase. I never imagined Gucci would get rid of something so popular. I had my little spray for years, and I always kept it in its little pink case due to its potency. To this day, I still remember it so well. The sample made my entire purse smell soo amazing - a beautiful peppery, rosy, fruity, pink floral smell that lasted forever. The memory of this is still embedded so deeply in my brain.

Fast forward to the last couple months, I suddenly remembered the little pink Gucci perfume I had before, and I started looking all over the internet for it. I was looking thru all of Gucci's pink perfumes and I kept seeing this one. After many blind buys and tons of searching, I looked up the sample version of this, and I finally saw an image of the exact little pink plastic case I had.
I finally found it.

What was excitement quickly mixed with sadness and dread, as I realized that in my search, I'd come across many people also looking for this one or it's dupe. There were a couple on eBay, but they're going for hundreds of dollars, and that's still a gamble.

Alas, I am still on the search. I will continue to seek out this perfume and try some of the similar ones listed here / on forums. Maybe one day I'll get lucky and find a bottle of this leftover at a store. Or maybe Gucci will decide to revive this fragrance. For now, I'm just glad I finally figured out for sure what it is I've been looking for.

I owned a bottle in 2015& since no more left...I could cry...it didn't have well lasting power& not sweet ,yet its feminine ¿ It smells like a fancy black pepper but if it were girly....at least to me..thats actually why I liked it so much...different♡ Its not worth paying extra to buy or find FB ~only for this fact no staying power~2 hrs max~ but I do love♡ its all Gucci!¡!

This is the most beautiful perfume I've ever used. Naive, fruity but not sweet more fresh masculinity in it. Love it.

I had this on my wedding day 2008.
I have it now again and was so excited to smell it after all these years and bring back memories.. i love it, but something has changed. Its a lot more green in the top notes then I remembered and less of that fruit. The scent does not last very long, but base notes are beautiful though and I feel feminine when I wear this.

FINALLY got my hands on this, there was one left at a local perfume shop, aaaaand I'm a bit disappointed. I don't know how some people describe this as sweet, to me, I'm not getting any fruit whatsoever. When I spray it on both paper and my skin, there's zero sweet, fruit notes I get. This perfume feels overpowered by the cedar, which isn't bad, but just not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a bit of fruit mixed in this to combat the woodsy-ness. I'm hoping I didn't get a bad one or anything, but judging by the reviews, I feel like I'm not alone. Honestly, this is not worth the high price tag you find it online for nowadays, Idk. I might mix this with Lalique Amethyst to get the best of both worlds. BTW, I don't know how this lasts on some people, because the longevity on me sucks! :/

This is a peppery, black-currant, musky tea. I LOVE it. It lasts on me forever and a day. I hate that it's discontinued. I don't think anything comes close to it.

I used to really dislike Gucci ii. I found it generic and too cedar heavy. Fast forward 10 years... I was able to buy a gift set with the 50 ML bottle, shower gel and lotion at such a great price I figured why not let's give it another go. And dammit I really love it now. I've smelled so many designer perfumes since then that it no longer feels generic at all, especially in 2020.

It's a light, agreeable fragrance. Reminds me very much of other Daniela Rocher creations like Prada Infusion d'iris EDT and Bvlgari Au The Bleu, but namely the latter. I layer this over Au The Bleu body lotion and the combination is divine, especially after a shower. They share an aromatic quality with violet, musk, Andrier green touch, and they radiate at the same frequency, so to speak. There is no dupe for Gucci ii, but you can smell that it came from the same nose that did some of the loveliest aromatic style Bvlgari fragrances as well as the Prada Infusions line.

Tart fruits, bright and powdery florals, fuzzy warm musk over a woody base. Excellent in warmer weather. Love love love it. But it makes me a little angry because I know my bottle will run out eventually and well, it can't be replaced. Only downside besides that is its weak performance. I have to spray a lot to enjoy it the way I like, and even still it's gone from my skin within a couple of hours. Best to blast your clothes with it and not think about using up the bottle too quickly. Or don't wear it at all and just keep it to look at that oddly satisfying chunky bottle with crystalline pink liquid inside :p. if you happen to have the matching body lotion, layering does help it last a bit longer. Unscented body cream might do the trick too. Or, you could try my Au the Bleu layering combination and see what you think.

This is one of my favorite perfumes, it's so sad that this got discontinued! I was young when I first smelled this and I was just in love with it! I knew none of the notes (I was 10 and living in a tropical island, we don't have any of those fruits and flowers) but it was such an enjoyable scent for me!

I can’t wear this because once I start I don’t want to wear anything else. It’s so beautiful. I have never smelled anything like it and I’m afraid I’ll ever smell anything like it again.

This smells like a morning walk through a pine forest after a rainy night. This is a masterpiece, why this was ever discontinued is beyond me.

I consider this my "lucky" fragrance. It's the perfume I was wearing when my partner and I bought our first house - I wanted to wear something that made me feel confident because I was super nervous and this just made me feel like I could take on the world.

Now when I wear it, it just reminds me of that excitement and being so happy and crying happy tears while drinking champagne haha!

I love the berry notes in this. I don't wear a lot of fruity perfumes but this seems really unique to me.

Gucci II is a long time love of mine. It was hard to find a few years after I first began wearing it so when I did find it I bought 3x50ml bottles. One is in use but I dread running out of it. It opens with what I perceive to be a slightly peppery green note in combination with fruits, mainly berries. The florals in this are very well blended and I can only distinguish what I believe to be lily from it. This fragrance also has a slightly powdery, woody finish.The bottle design is beautiful, rounded lid on a cuboid base in heavy glass, love the mix & match of shapes. Not travel friendly though and in a pinch it can be used as a weapon because of how heavy it is. Oh and great longevity on this one. It is a master piece and I hope Gucci listens to everyone pleading for this to be brought back.

Again, Kathleen Lights made me purchased a perfume. This is her all time favorite. I know this has been discontinued, however my magical trusted online seller has this available.

Fresh sweet berries combined with peony created a young beautiful scent. Even when you are over 30 yo and have a young soul wearing this scent is not a crime at all.

I am hoping Gucci would see and listen to all the beggers and bring this gem back.

This is meant to be fruity, sweet, fresh, and even floral!

I'm not getting *any* of those - I'm getting a sharp, woodsy unisex / leaning-more-toward-masculine scent! It's not eased by any fruitiness (...unless it's a sharp, sour blackberry!) nor sweetness. No floral scent I can detect at all.

Seeing all these lovely reviews about it being a masterpiece and delightful and feminine - I must have a bad bottle.

I really want to find a fresh bottle because this can't be right!

Hmmm.. i managed to find a bottle of this on kijiji and was so excited to buy it. It instantly reminded me of desirable by Lise Watier and a little bit of blue ? By Ralph Lauren. That was smelling from the bottle, but upon spraying, I am still trying to figure it out. It's quite Woody or something for quite a while on my skin, does lighten to that lise watier/ralph lauren smell but I'm not sure I see what the hype is about. I sprayed desirable which is an EDT on my wrist, and 5 sprays of Gucci on my neck and wrist, and I smell desirable above the gucci. Maybe it's my skin. Ill see if it generates any compliments like it's supposed to ;)

This is a masterpiece without a doubt. So sad it discontinued. Managed to get my hands on a 30ml bottle. This is a cedar and blackberry fragrance the rest of the notes are there to provide the background. I've been trying to find a similar perfume and have tried the Paul Smith's Extreme woman which was created by the same nose and shares some notes but the tea note there diverged the two scents. Alas will have to keep on looking. What a shame they have discontinued it, it's absolutely divine and ageless, one of those that you can wear anytime anywhere and still leave a lasting impression. On the downside it is short lived but I can forgive that.

It is ridiculously hard to find this fragrance. I know that it was discontinued, but still. Now that I am finally able to lay hands on it, I kind of understood why beauty vloggers on YouTube have been raving about this.

Gucci II has this cold, mysterious, aloof quality to it. It's like if my standoffish soul has a smell, this would be it. I'd say that this and L'Ombre Dans L'Eau have the same aura (although they don't even smell remotely alike). The cedar stood out the most. Honestly I wouldn't even know that this is a fruity fragrance had I not read the description here.

All in all, I totally understand the hype surrounding this. Love it.

I love this one. There is nothing disagreeable about this fragrance to me. It is a people pleaser. I am surprised people are saying this is too green/peppery. I definitely get the pepperiness (from the cedar?) but it is not overwhelming at all and never dominates over the fruit. The slight wafts of pepperiness are what make this intriguing and peculiar to me and not just another jammy fruity perfume.

This is all about the sweetness of blackberry and blackcurrant rounded out by the freshness of cedar. It feels like I have been transported to magical summer forest, which is exactly where I want to be! It is ageless for me, I feel it would be appropriate for any age of woman (or man) with a little bit of whimsy in their heart.

Lasting power is not great with this one, I find it fades after a few hours. And I have to dig it out of the corners of the internet at ~~$50 for 1 oz.

Boyfriend test: He loves this one. He will dig this face into my neck if I spray it. He is finicky about perfumes and hates traditional, heavy "old lady" perfumes.

Gucci II is so fresh and alluring. To me it smells like cold white tea with blackberries. Alas, my bottle is long gone. If you can find a bottle, I highly recommend it. If you like Gucci Envy Me, you will probably love this.

Possibly the best perfume ever made. It's a crime that this is so hard to find. I feel as though the whole universe came into existence just so this fragrance could be produced. And Gucci discontinues it. Duh.

I may have written a review for this, but many years ago. So I’m onto my 3rd bottle. Rarely do I wear it, unless I need an urgent pick-me-up or I’m going somewhere nice. This may seem a little bit backwards, but I wear it rarely as I’m too afraid of it losing its special spark. I adore it so much I want to savour it & never ever tire of it.. if it’s possible to! Seeing as my current bottle is years old and sits on my bathroom sill with brief direct sunlight, I thought I would tell you how it’s held up.

At least half of my other perfumes on the same window sill have lost their scent/gone stale. Gucci ii.. just as fresh and beautiful as when it’s new.

Smells like no other perfume (note the ‘smells like’ section here & the comparisons almost have no votes).

This scent is still my number 1 favourite, nothing compares, so elegant & happy, a definite winner :)

I don't like the opening of this fragrance. I was thinking too green on the first spray so I agree with the other reviewer stating that the opening smells paisley and celery but I don't get the berries. I like the dry down slightly sweet and I can smell the beautiful floral. The other cons for me is the projection. almost no sillage - I love a good strong perfume - I don't regret blind buying this since it was only a 1 ounce bottle and at a fair place given of the current price on the market but I don't think I would've go for it if I tested it first. Hoping that I can overcome the opening issue and sillage...

People don’t get the fact that there are summer scents and winter ones! This is definitely a summer one and it will be beautiful to use it on your skin in a warm sunny day ☀️

Love this fragrance but it’s not long lasting. Lasted about 3-4 hours on my skin with unscented body lotion. The fragrance lasts longer on my clothes. Definitely reminds me of Jeanne by Lanvin which doesn’t last on me at all. Sillage is mild to moderate. I need about 6 sprays to build up to a moderate sillage but it fades away after 2 hours.

Smells feminine and fruity. Will probably repurchase again despite the longevity.

My favorite of what I can "friendly fruity-floral" fragrances. The 50ml bottle also doubles a bludgeoning weapon. Not too sweet or juicy even with the berry notes, and a nice lightness to the musk in the dry-down. I wear it to work often, but it's also a little flirtatious. I definitely get the fruit on the top and floral in the middle) The base has moderate longevity, but the sillage is not very strong.

This is soft and sheer, very work appropriate. Fruity and inoffensive but that doesnt mean generic or bad. I absolutely love it and wish it were available in the large bottle. I can only find it in discount websites/ebay. It is underrated, for sure. It makes me happy whenever I smell it.

This is the only thing I own a back up bottle of!

EDIT: I broke into my backup bottle when my little 1 oz finally ran out. I had been using it very seldom, since I didn't want to use it up, so I had sort of forgotten (or perhaps my new standard is higher) that it disappears so fast on me. The longevity of perhaps a strong body spray. Still absolutely ADORE the smell, I just wish it was stronger and lasted longer on me.

Sweet floral for the first few minutes then started to smell like cheap men's cologne...I was so excited to try and perhaps buy locally when it's finally back in stock. I was dying to buy it because of KathleenLights and I have been contemplating for a long time. I was disappointed by the simplicity and how generic it smells. It smells like they mixed men's cologne and women's generic summer floral perfume together. Luckily didn't buy it for the price I think it needs to be somewhat decent. As I have been smelling more fragrances recently my amateur nose began to prefer more complex fragrance yet I am still noob AF anyway.

EDIT: I can't believe mum has this in her collection. She just showed me her 30mL bottle which she apparently was gonna give away. She didn't give it away instead she kept it to herself. She just then sprayed it on me and it smells soooo good.
Innocent girly safe scent. It smells different to the 50mL I sampled in the store recently (maybe her bottle's got the original formula or whatever maybe I will try it out again). I think I definitely prefer the 30mL as the packaging is more portable versus the 50mL (chunky as you can literally kill anyone with that blocky bottle). I get the hype as to why this is popular. It is a safe scent that gives you the elegance and cleanness without being powdery. Okay, sold. So glad to have this in my collection as mum said she can leave it with me for the time being. HEHE HAPPY <3

I came back to add to my review below, since I've heard that many people get woody and peppery notes from this.
I have to say that amazes me and it must be due to totally different skin chemistries. So if you are about to buy this, I highly recommend testing first.

On my skin this a beautiful sweet berry scent with some peonies and violet. A very feminine and girly scent, the colour of which would definitely be pink if this scent had a colour (even if it wasn't literally pink in the bottle, I mean).

No woody cedar notes whatsoever here for me. And trust me, my nose is usually very sensitive in picking up cedar notes, especially sharp ones (pencil shavings). Any spicy peppery notes? No, not on my skin.

So this is a good example of a scent behaving in a very different manner depending on its wearer. That's a good thing, I would say, since it makes the scent a lot more interesting. But at the same time it might cause a lot of surprises if the scent is not tested before buying.

I just brought one bottle from Notino and was hoping to love the scent. Unfortunately, it smells very sharp and peppery on me, somehow masculine. I guess it's not a fit for me. However, it's a luxurious berry perfume, like a more mature and dark version of Dot (by marc jacobs).

To me this scent is sweet and pink, almost a girly scent.

Yet sophisticated enough for me to feel like wearing it. So it's not overly sweet, I guess the woody notes balance it out just right. And this scent has that certain coldness to it, which makes it adorable to me.

This became one of my favorite scents at the time when I tested it at an airport some 10 years ago. It's been hard to find since, so I'm glad I have backup. I don't use it enough though, since somehow I find myself thinking it's a bit generic these days.
Based on some reviews below I might be totally mistaken though. I should actually start wearing this more.

I blind bought this because of the rave reviews on Youtube. The most prominent smell to me is Cedar wood. It reminds me of the wood chips used on the bottom of a hamster cage. Not a horrible scent, pleasant but a little too woodsy for me.

Like a couple other people on here, I got this perfume because every youtuber raves about it. Of course I checked here and it was the same, everyone loved it. I couldn't find anywhere to test it and I heard it was going to be discontinued so I just blind bought a 1oz bottle online. The notes say fruity as the main one, yet I just smell grass and pepper, at least on my skin (I have pretty dry skin). I'm not a fan of super sweet/fruity fragrances, but I need enough to where I smell feminine. So my advice to all reading this is that if you are looking for a fruity/fresh fragrance this is not it. It's more of a floral/fresh fragrance with a hint of fruit. If you are not into sweet/fruity scents, I highly recommend this. I can see why people like this perfume but to say it is fruity is not accurate. In addition, the silage and longevity suck.

every time i am at an airport i test this it has a very prominent note of cassis (blackcurrant) that i adore and it also has a slight herbal note wich i think gives it more dimention kind of like the same herbal note that is in escada's magnetism this scent is very perfumy and sofisticated i wich i had a bottle its dark and very sexy

This has very poor longevity and sillage. The scent is just another fresh scent but nothing to hype about.I spray this on my skin in the morning and after 5 minutes I sniff my wrist again and theres nothing there. It's disappointing...

I love it! This is the kind of perfume you wear to a fancy lunch with your boyfriend and to a daytime party.

It smells expensive and elegant. To me it smells like fresh new handbag leather! People can smell it, but it’s not too overwhelming.

I discovered Gucci II in the bargain bin at TJ Max more than a dozen years ago. I still have about a quarter of 1oz left, so not a big love from me but I'm not keen on fruity florals, so no surprises. I always thought pink pepper was in here, but I see from the notes that it's not listed.

The initial opening is sharp, filled with berries and flowers and what I thought was pink pepper, and too much for me to be comfortable around others. It dies down in about 30 minutes and I find it pretty and non-offensive in the middle and drydown. It's gone in 2-3 hours. Wearable year round. I like it but not enough to buy it again.

I see sooo many ppl saying its discontinued. It's ON Sephora's website.

Just changed from had to want. Gucci II is a child of the early 2000's - sharp, flowery, unsweet berries and an elegant freshness. Assertive while being carefree. Elegant without being overwhelming, With presence without intruding space. I loved it but never repurchased because of all the other bottles that entered my collection.

Gucci II EDP, where do I start? I've been wanting to try out this scent and luckily I was able to get a bottle for a good price considering it is discontinued. Now I know what the hype is all about!

The pinkish purple color of the juice is well suited for this soft and feminine fruity floral fragrance. Blackcurrant, blackberry, and cedar are the prominent notes I get. I can also smell the violet, peony, musk and that hint of citrus. It has this champagne-y yet woodsy vibe that I can’t quite explain. The blend of each notes compliment each other so well its gives it a complete and well rounded yet sweet scent that can be for daytime or nighttime wear.

Downside is that sillage is poor and doesn't last long on me. Though I like that the heaviness of the bottle gives a statement, it really is not practical bringing a paperweight all the time in your bag!!

Gucci 2 on me smells like a fresh floral, not sweet or too flowery. It is very feminine and refreshing with a hint of citrus. On me it is a skin scent but in beginning it projects nicely. I did not notice any wood note. This is a good day or night scent. It is worth trying.

This smells really cold.. like menthol or mint but it doesn't smell like either of those things at the same time. Very difficult to describe!!! But I love it!

Gucci II is a hard one to describe, but dear God do I love this! It is fruity/fresh with quite prominent cedar. I haven't smelled anything else that is like it. It is more of a skin scent, but has good longevity. Every time i wear Gucci II I can't stop sniffing myself! This is a smell that I'll never get tired of. It is such a shame that it has been discontinued.

just smells like someone aggressively squeezed a bottle of intoxicating baby powder on your face. Eye rolling price for what it is.

After seeing many rave reviews about this on youtube i knew i had to try it.
I ended up scoring a cheap 30ml bottle on eBay.
On first sniff i was worried as it reminded me a little of bright crystal but thankfully the peony didn't become any stronger.
Cedar is a main player in this, but it doesn't smell masculine, kind of dry woody yet menthol like.
The soft powdery florals and sour fruits blend surprisingly well and the outcome is quite unique.
Overal i find it musky, dry with a fruity touch and on my skin its quite light.

I love this so so much. People ask me what I'm wearing and compliment it. I think Gucci stopped making it? Anyone know if it was discontinued? Really is a shame if it's out of production. It's a light crisp blackberry scent that the scent of peace could smell like if the scent of peace had any sillage at all and a little more sweetness.

Beautiful violets blend with blackberries and the fresh air into the woods after a spring rain! A fruity floral at its best. Although it is Intoxicating, it gives you a hint of spiciness that makes you feel energetic and ready to conquer the world! You can only find harmony in this beautifully blended perfume. It's sad that Gucci decided to discontinue it.

I bought the smaller bottle at first and wore it everyday since I got it. I love the smell so much! It's sexy and sophisticated at the same time! Fruity and woodsy with a tinge of floral! it is also very fresh! I have had a lot of compliments whenever I wore it and I was surprised somebody said I smell so good even after I couldn't smell it on me anymore so I think the sillage is more than moderate! A 10/10 for me !

I'd never smelled this before purchasing. I initially heard about this fragrance on YouTube. I've also read the reviews on this fragrance on this website. The notes listed in the fragrance seemed like something I'd like wearing.
I searched for the fragrance online and noticed it only at sephora.com for about $98. The price was pretty steep for a blind buy. Needless to say, I forgot about it. A few months later, my mother and I visited our local TJ Maxx- and I saw this! The price was for $48, so I bought it.
The scent is lovely, but it's not what I was expecting. I imagined a "pink" fragrance.I wanted to smell fresh berries SoO bad! But all I can smell is a green kind of floral scent. With the listed notes in mind- all that I readily smell are notes of cedar, peony, and a smidge of mandarin. The scent really reminds me of a more subdued version of either Burberry Brit Summer, Burberry Brit, or even the Burberry for women perfume with some tea thrown in there.
As for longevity , this lasts for quite a good while.The down side is the sillage!This really does not project on my skin at all. Maybe its supposed to be a close and comforting type of scent. One where only YOU know that you're wearing it, and even you may forget at times (because the sillage sucks that bad). But as soon as you pull your wrist up to your face you will remember you put something on.
In the end, it's cool that I found it on sale. However, I wish I never bought it. It's kind of boring. And not worth the price in my humble lol opinion.

I purchased this recently as a blind buy and it's actually not quite what I had expected. To me the scent is nothing groundbreaking. The initial spray is very very strong in the cassis grass note it it mainly what I smell, it's also woodsy, not sweet at all I'm not getting any berries. I feel as if this perfume wasn't designer that it wouldn't be so popular. The bottle is very classy but I can't keep buying perfumes because of the nice bottles. I had purchased peace love and juicy by juicy couture not long ago where Cassis is a note in that as well and they are similar to me and I actually prefer that over this and was a fraction of the cost. I'm also going to stop blind buying fragrances over reviews and smell them first because everyone's opinions are different.

Gucci eau de Parfum appears to be a perfect choice for summer , it is extremely feminine. This is your typical pink fruity floral, inoffensive and pleasant.

The opening of Gucci eau de Parfum II is actually quite strong, with the berries and citrus coming out too early in the composition.

I like the dry down with a musky and subtle berry scent. I thoroughly enjoyed this sudden creaminess and I found it to round off the scent nicely.

This was a blind purchase based on a lot of hype on YouTube and the fact that it's discontinued. So I couldn't find any testers anywhere. I don't like this. To me it does not smell floral at all or fruity. All I smell is peppery and green herbal notes. A little bit like a masculine cologne . I can see how this wouldn't appeal to the masses and this is probably why it's been discontinued. Not very feminine or alluring. Back it goes! There are nicer fragrances out there and not going to keep it just because others think it's great!

I have mixed feelings about this perfume. It's very unique and I love the way it mixe's with my body chemistry, but it does not last on my skin. I just don't know why. It literally disappears within minutes. I know some people who have it say it lasts a life time on they're skin, but for me it does not last at all. Which is disappointing because I really do love the scent.

for a start, perfume doesn't last long on me. i'm a sweater and as it's summer in australia, a fragrance has to be strong to last an hour.
so i applied gucci edp II quite extravagantly, maybe 7 sprays, on skin, clothing and hair and do not reapply, hoping that my fragrance will last. initially, gucci II opens with orange blossom and jasmine. it is a unique fragrance which is very sweet and syrupy and i like it.
so i'm at work and whenever a lady customer comes in, i'm thinking "i wonder what perfume she's wearing?"and then the next lady comes in and she's wearing the same perfume. then i have a break of no customers and goddam it, i can still smell that perfume.... i'm not blonde but i must've been having a moment because it took me a couple of hours to realise that that was my perfume!! and hallelujah, it passes the longevity test. yay. so 6 hours later i can still smell orange and jasmine and cedar and musk. faintly, but its there. a big thumbs up for gucci eau de parfum II.
update. there seems to be a resurgence of this perfume on the market so i guess that they've re released it

Let me start by saying that I tend to really enjoy floral-fruity fragrances, but thus far in my perfume history I do not enjoy floral fragrances. (There are a few exceptions.) This particular fragrance walks the line a little too dangerously close to floral for me.

I blind bought a 2.5oz bottle of this largely due to hype and the fact that it fell into the floral-fruity category, which in my experience up to this point in time I had most liked. When it arrived, I sprayed it and was almost immediately disappointed because of the strength of the floral component. I was really expecting something fruitier. In the beginning I smelled berries (red berry, black currant), not too rich but not too light. I smelled something a bit green (cassis) too. This scent mixed with a very strong peppery (yes, peppery), fresh, floral component (Lily of The Valley, Freesia, Violet, Peony). The strength and predominance of this component almost turned me off. (I still to this day don't enjoy this part of the perfume.) Luckily, the added blackberry held the berry scent in this strongly floral heart. As the fragrance dried, I got musk and cedar rather clearly as well as a bit of renewed likeable sweetness, which rescued this fragrance.

Overall, I say tread carefully. This is a pretty unique scent in my experience thus far. So, if you love floral-fruity fragrances that lean floral, this is definitely for you. If you're more like me, you could definitely pass on this and not think twice. Lastly, if you're a collector, you might want to make a purchase before this completely disappears from the market.

i think this perfume smells like some type of cleaning product. On my skin i dont get fruity at all , i get woody notes only.

I picked this up today and it reminds me of Burberry Brit Sheer 2015 edition except a tiny bit less sweet. I like it.

I wanna try this after watched KathleenLights review about this perfume. It's already discontinued but you can purchase this at sephora.com but for me blind buy is quite scary. One day, I was wandering around Parkson Pavilion here in Malaysia and I passed by Gucci counter and saw this Gucci II tester which literally means they still selling this. I give it a try and it is not as my expectation to get very sweet blackcurrant scent. It is totally different but in a good way of course. So classic. I think I got a lot of cassia-freesia-heliotrope-cedar notes

Overrated. Doesn't last on me. Smells like a diet Tommy Girl. Disappointment.

Out of all the scents that have come and gone from my fragrance wardrobe over the last thirty years, there has always been a bottle of this (since it came out in 2004). I fell in love with it the day it was released and it will always have a special place in my heart. Raspberries, pepper, and cedarwood are the main notes I get. It's floral with just a hint of fruit and luscious smokey, woody notes. It's elegant, sparkling, delicate, playful, and unique, and it is suitable day or night all year round. This exquisite perfume carried me through the worst event in my life.

Oh I fall in love with this Gucci 2,definitely a big fav for me ,this pink pepper fruity sexy smell with hint of musk it's the best combination made ever from Gucci brand ,gorgeous !!!!!

Gotta say, I've realised that I am a bit of a Gucci fan!

Last year, it was Flora, which I still really love! And think is one of a kind.

A couple years before that, Guilty, which, wow. What a sexy perfume!

The brown Gucci bottle fell somewhere in the middle here... great date night scent.

Recently, Guilty Black because it's moving into cooler weather here and that bottle is so damn cool.. lol!

But I've just now tried Gucci 2 and I like it - I'm really surprised at it!

I think I always took Gucci as being... ordinary? I don't know why I ever thought it, but like many other brands I just always assumed their perfumes to be samey samey and synthetic to a point that it is off-putting, but the more I explore the brand the more I am impressed.


This, first spray, took me straight to my favourite blackberry in L'Artisan's Mure et Musc and the one prominent in Philosophy's Falling in Love, both of which are very different but I can appreciate. I quite like blackberry as a note and was surprised at how bright it is, how fruity it was, in Gucci.

The cedar comes up quickly and mixes very well with the fruity accord so that eventually it is an outright perfect mix of the two scents together as the one note - it definitely takes me to the feeling and smell of Balenciaga Paris though.. there is no denying how very, very glaringly different these two are - Paris always strikes me as more dry and violet-limned, where as this is distinctly blackberry with a cedar edge. I love how it plays black and forth between the two, but I definitely don't get anything else except the berry and the cedar, but I'm not complaining. I like that initial smell of blackberry and the way the cedar snuggles up.


I'm going to test drive it today and see how it lasts. I really like it so far.

it's so difficult to find this perfume nowadays, i had to go to at least 2-3 malls to find one. i hope this isnt gonna be discontinued, and im so freaking furious at GUCCI. why must they discontinue a good perfume??

this smells so fresh and fruity ( not cloyingly fruity), puts a smile on my face everytime i spray it on my body. this perfume has that effect on me.

versace bright Crystal has almost similar notes as Gucci II, but Gucci is more peppery and fresh, whereas Bright Crystal is more on the sweeter side.

the top note is the BEST, makes me wanna breathe it deep in me, never want it to leave me. the dry down is somewhat very soft, but it's there.
i have been to many stores and tried every single perfume there is out there, hoping I could catch myself a dupe or anything that smells close to this, but there is none. NONE.
NOTHING SMELLS LIKE IT, and thats what makes me super crazy about it.

I will always repurchase this, I will always look for it anywhere I go, simply coz it's considered extinct nowadays. i hope there is a Gucci reps reading this now, I hope she or he will bring this matter to Gucci Ceo, or whoever that is in charge of deciding to DISCONTINUE this exquisite perfume.

there is NO OTHER perfume that smells like GUCCI II, this is truly ONE in A MILLION perfume.

been buying and testing lots of other perfumes but when i came home to this, i went weak at the knees, EVERYTIME. so bummed that Gucci Edp ii isnt available here anymore

Recently a guy passing by had to stop to tell me how great was my perfume. I was just wearing a little bit of this scent. I don't find it particularly nice, it is clean, fruity, with some odd chemical tinge like a rare vegetable I believe it might be the cassia leaf. Extremely good longevity and sillage. My husband, in the other hand..simply hates this scent. He asked me "what is that smell? it is like bug spray!" and then came smelling me and saying "what horrific perfume is it"? yeah, it was Gucci II. So, you see, some people love it and some hate it. Some men will find it great and others bug spray! I don't know, I enjoy it but I would not think it is a sexy scent at all, just a very fruity and somewhat medicinal scent.

There must be something magical about this one as it smells horrendous and chemically to me. But people rave about it. I seriously can't see how anyone can like it. Unlike with perfumes like coco chanel which r bit of an acquired taste, this just smells like burnt plastic to me. But of course people rave about it and love it and it gets them compliments.. So it may truly be different for different people... I will be willing to swap

I recieved my first heavy on glass of a lid, perfume,Gucci ll edp,I really like this one,i have nothing like this other than harajuku lover super G's by Gwen stafani if you wanna save,they smell very close,but gucci on my skin lasts&lasts,idk if its cuz its marchy lucky birthday month,but its an excuse for my perfume hual....shhh!Yeah so to me this perfume smells like a sexxy pepper,with being lovely strange enuff,it smells unique....but even though its new,ill only wear on special nights out,only due to being discontinued tho,like i do my black opium ysl,but this is different its a tomboy in a black little dress with her head up going to a fancy dinner at night.I liked after drydown about an hour&it lasts 8hrs,skin.

I smelled it yesterday and had some great expectations. This scent is delicate, floral, soft at first, but after a few hours only a sharp and medicine-like vibe of the original Gucci Parfum remains, plus the vibe is diluted by 10 as compared to the original. I'll give it one more chance I guess, but I'm not sure it's worth the hype and the price...:(

I got this perfume as a gift from my dad and I don't like it one bit. The fruit notes are so strong that they caused me a headache. I tend to go for gourmand floral scents with hints of musk. Definitely try this perfume before buying it.

I adore the berry and floral combination of this perfume. Unlike floral perfumes which sometimes can be too sweet, it is rather a fresh smelling perfume. The peppery, almost patchouli like openning always tend to offend me so I didn't use to wear this perfume much often. However, I just discovered that the berry and floral notes smell more strong in damp, wet, and humid weather whereas the peppery note tends to smell strong in dry weather. When the spicy patchouli like note tones down, the elegant luxurious beauty of this perfume surfaces. It's an expensive yet fresh smelling perfume.

My signature few years ago. I love this, very feminine. Very unique scent, so different from everything. Still very original and modern.

Find this quite a smoky fruity scent. But it's not something spectacular to me tho. All in all an easy going lovable fruity scent.

Gucci Eau de Parfum II is adorable. Playful and innocent scent in one bottle. Suitable for a young, romantic lady for every day usage. I mostly smell blueberries with a bit of pepper in the base which adds a mysterious tone to this perfume riquisimo.

Similar to gucci rush to, but has more vanilla at drydown.

I get a strong peppery note, almost feel like sneezing the first 1-2 minutes after applying.

But I don't mind, cause the smell is really, really nice. Very girly and yet I wouldn't put an age on it.

Its very easy to wear, fresh - crispy. Goes well for daytime, wouldnt use it in late evning or when going out, would chose a more heavy and sweet smell for that.

Have a 30ml, but found a 50ml for a very good price so I bought that one aswell. I'm in no doubt that I will use every single drop from both bottles.

This was my to go clubbing perfume when I was younger. Even though I know the notes now I still find it peppery, floral and slightly fruity. I can't really detect the berries in the topnotes. This is a perfume for a woman of any age. It's not childish or "old" but in between.

I was honestly expecting much more from this fragrance. Is totally Guerlain Insolence, but more peppery. :) LOL

Gucci irritates me. They always discontinue their frangrances that become my favorites. It's happened many times with other scents they had. This one is so beautiful, floral but not over the top. Very feminine

This one drove my husband crazy! In a good way. But made me feel sick every time I wore it. I think it's because of the pepper in it. Also my bottle has gone sour over time. Too bad....

When I was younger, I liked it very much. Now I like it too, but it is not the way I remembered it. My taste or my skin chemistry has changed! Now it is a lot sourer and not so intoxicating as it was before. What a shame.

Ohh I love this perfume, it's so different from everithing I've recently tried, it's stylish, rememberable and unique. I feel great when wearing it!

I had been curious about this scent because I love the original Eau De Parfum even though they are complete polar opposites.. I stumbled upon three bottles of this and a tester at a Sephora so I squirted it on my wrist and I liked it a lot.. This is a modern pink fruity floral which we know is the common trend going on in women's perfumery.. The difference between this and the rest of the fruity florals is that Gucci Eau De Parfum II manages to give the fruity floral effect without the overdone fruity notes and the wallop of sugar that I detest! It goes on very fresh cool and tart! It stays tart through to the heart of the fragrance, and than the fruity notes start to show themselves more.. The florals are there but are tame and done just right! There is some musk and cedar in the base along with some heliotrope that grounds the scent and leaves a very nice simple pleasant drydown.. This is a classy, sophisticated fruity floral that can be worn by a women and not just young girls.. I really enjoyed experiencing this one.. The best fruity floral I have ever came across!

Similar to Gucci rush 2 but more powdery, like vanilla undertone. Maybe violet, cause I don't like violets.

Tried this today based on reviews and I do not like it at all. Very sour, musky and can still smell it even after scrubbing wrist!! I will stick to my Bright Crystal for a floral fruity perfume.

Gucci EdP II was my signature during my last year in high school. I loved it so much, and still think it's perfect for a young girl who wants to smell flirty and classy, someone who is still innocent but not oblivious.

Although I've worn this religiously for more than a year, I have a really hard time describing this scent to others. To me it smells peppery (possibly thanks to the cassia, which my skin tends to amp), with this light, fresh sweetness that comes from the dark berries (as opposed to the creamy, vanilla-type sweetness in most 'young' fragrances today). I'm honestly unable to identify any of the florals in the scent pyramid, and I feel like the perfumer was going more for a 'modern & pink' feeling, rather than a concoction of clearly recognizable notes.

I still have a large bottle of this, but I almost never reach for it. I'm ten years older now, and I just don't feel like this suits me as well anymore.

This fragrance is tart, fruity, quite fresh and stylish. I don't find it sweet or cloying at all. It's crisp and refreshing while being feminine with all the berry scents. Also I get a peppery smell that perks up the fragrance, giving it a little character. I like that it's not the typical girly berry scent because it's spicy and has a woodsy undertone.

My all time favourite! I love the way the fragrances are so balanced in this. And the bottle i love! chic and sophisticated!

My only favorite perfume, I used them 6 years ago on the paper and still can smell it, great. I think in short time I will buy them. Recommend for these who loves fresh, soft sweetness and fruit smells, no soapy or powdery. Unique perfume, there are no perfume like this.

This perfume has a fresh citrusy opening. It wakens you up. After a while it gets softer. The citrus disappears and, for me, the red berries come in. The dry down is lovely. It turns to fresh and soft at the same time... I can't explain it better :-) .
It's classy, not cloyingly. More of a springtime, summertime perfume, but if you like, you could pull it off all year round.
It softens up a lot, so much so I think it has disappeared after a few hours. But if I smell my wrist, it's still there. It's a perfume that seems to have no sillage, but that isn't true, I just can't smell on me. But a day later I can still smell it on my sweater without having to put my nose to it.
I love the bottle, it's very elegant and heavy. That does give it an expensive feel :-) .

I see people here have very different opinions about this perfume. So mine is also quite weird.
At first I smelt a strong spicy smell, a little masculine even. That was kind of weird, but I liked it.
Then it became very floral which I didn't like that much.
And the drydown had quite lovely cedar scent which reminded me of cedars at the seaside on a windy day.
Full of different aspects of nature.
I'd say like, not love. I wouldn't buy it myself but if someone gave it to me as a gift I would wear it.

A floral/fruity scent that makes you feel happy. At first it smells mostly blackberries, citrus and flowers but after a while mostly violet. The drydown is lovely. It is young and fresh but also classy.

I loved it from the very first sniff. It is a cristal clear clean smell. A great and very sofisticated scent.I love the way it reveals its sweetness in the cold winter days, the way it embraces me with fresh notes in hot summer days. It is so delicate. I love the mixture of fresia black currant cedar...wonderful..well balanced. When I first smelled Feerie edp Van Cleef & Arpels I could instantly get a glimpse of Gucci II. As I thought it~s the same nose who created this gorgeous perfumes.

Lovely, elegant and different! I have worn it in two different periods of my life and I really enjoyed every drop of it.

to be honest i could not smell anything else but a 'Hospital smell' or a 'Drug smell' at first..after awhile i could vaguely smell the sweet berries with the peony..however, everyone around me kept asking me the perfume i used, complimenting on its sweet smell..still not my favourite i can tell.. ^_^

For me, this perfume is indescribable. It is wonderful from beginning to end and everyone I make smell it loves it too. They ask what they're smelling and I say "wait for it" and they say "hmm do I smell berries?", which makes me happy that the berries aren't too in your face. This perfume does not know seasons nor the time of day. It is perfect all the time.

One of the best fragrances I’ve ever had. It might seem fruity and a bit girly for a first sniff but it’s not. Gucci II is womanish, radiant and optimistic. I adore combination of flowers and woody notes with a hint of black currants that give it slight fruity freshness. It’s a shame it’s been discontinued, but it often happens to fragrances I really love.

I´ve tried it yesterday, bos the bottle looks very nice. At first I could smell fresia and peony with lil sweet base. Me and my friend considered, that it will be my next purchase, cos it seemed to fit on me.
I kept sniffing it and after one hour it changed to sweet berry smell. But that smell lasted more that 12 hours (after one tiny spray)!!! So if you are searching sweet perfume with great longevity, that´s it.
But for me nothing special. I was a fan of such fragrances in my early twenties, when I wanted to smell like a candy. It smells definitely same as the MEL MERIO from Rossmann drugstore, so I won´t buy it...

I tried to like this, but I just can't. I got a really strong spice/pepper like scent. This is nothing like my all-time fav Cacharel Promesse, well at least on my skin. :(

there is something lovely about the sour berries with the cassis and cedar.
As an added bonus if i carry the 50ml bottle in my handbag i have something to use as a weapon if someone tries to mug me.

It's a nice perfume but something is really bothering me.. It is too sauer! Like I can even describe it.. It is a very unique smell. I think it's love or hate.

On me it turns very bitter and sharp. Like cheap drugdstore creation. After a while it gets woody but still with unpleasant sour undertone. Oh well, i've never had good relation with Gucci and now i'm at least sure i should stay away from that brand.

It does really smell like fresh dewy black berries, refreshing it comes on like a crisp breeze. Its like shaking a thorny berry vine covered in frost, sending a blasting cloud of soft feathery sweetness. Clarifying, sharp and clean.It smells light hearted, whimsical but manages to completely avoide the too sweet lines like Britney Spears fantasy or the Mariah Carey lollie pop bling, The ingredients present themselves timidly, quality substance made from a sophisticated creator. There is a tartness, bordering on puckering that one would get from a dry red wine. Its less of a curt smile, more of an inviting glance.The smell summons clean white linen, ice cubes and the beach on a stormy day. No cuteness, but still refreshing like a cold blast of water to your face in the morning. It helps wake me up in the morning and keeps me focused all day.

Over time this has become one of my favorite smell, its sweet treat on a winter day, i want to buy a bigger bottle, its really amazing. pink luscious downy crushed raspberries over ice with a sprig of ceder leaves. Fizzy current soda with lime, tart cherry and black berry jam with out the sugar.
On me it manages to retain the buoyant succulent delicacy of the raspberry flavor, as it is pierced by a heavy sourness of the sweetness bursting over sharp musk. Like a sour berry being crushed over tart lemon ice. Delicious. Wish it had stronger ingredients but oh well. You wont get a head ache from it at least.

think my nose is playing me up big time,just had a spray of this and its lovely but reminds me of the violet sweets you buy,and that's it !!! violet sherbert type fizzy sweets,mmm not sure its worth a bottle full

Sprayed this on my skin today to test. Boring. I immediately thought this would be beautiful... on someone else. Just not for me. Very safe and very powdery on me! Did smell lovely though, nothing bitter or sour or sharp, very smooth and soft, blah. Some people even actually came to mind that this would smell beautiful on, so I do think it's nice. Just too safe. I picture a girl in a cardigan at a country club or something, def no rock & roll with this one! Very nice! Not for me! It's been over 6 hours and I can still smell traces of this. I think this is a nice everyday scent for the right person.
I also smelled a "pine-y" smell in this? Almost Christmas pine-y? Just at first. Could someone message me and tell me why, what notes cause that pine smell to my nose?

I wanted to love this so bad!!! But it's just not right. Maybe something was wrong with my sample.. I don't know. The initial spray had a very strange tange to it, it smelled super sharp and something turned me off about it. Within a minute it faded away to something completely different, a faint smell of flowers and just... green plants? : Seriously, it kinda smells like grass. Hard to tell though since it's so faint it's hardly there. I got my sample from Sephora.

I really love this fragrance. Two days ago I wore this for an event and a friend of mine who came to welcome me gave me a kiss and said 'OMG you smell so amazing'. Men really like this perfume and I have to admit I love it too! :) Very pleasant, sophisticatesd with a hint of sexy eradiation .

This perfume is three things.

Spicy, Fruity, Fresh! I that order.

The casssia really plays the leading role in this when it's first wet on skin and makes the whole composition smell like spicy fruit. It's not an overwhelming beauty of a perfume but so far so good.

The drier stages see the cassia (very similar to cinnamon) temper down the little bit and it's becoming way more fruity and...dare I say...BORING.

It's turning into something that I've smelled a million times before unfortunately. Vague berries and weak citrus mushed together to form something with not the most amazing personality. Pass...

Hmm...glad this was a sample and not a blind buy. Phew!

this smelled so nice on paper in a magazine, but after i purchased it and used on my skin, it mainly ends up smelling like flat plain black pepper to me. My roomie agreed, just flat black pepper end. Not for me.

i first smell it when i messed around my aunt's bunch of perfume and i found this one which made me feel like im on heaven!

There is a bottle of this sitting in my sister's and it looks bulky and unwieldy.
Despite the bulk it houses a soft quiet scent.

I sprayed this generously twice to the arm. With no idea what frag is about I thought I smelled a luminous rose accompanied by citrus and then this is completely overwhelmed by a persistent spiced peppery smell. Earthy smelling, the entire thing was patchouli like. I concur it does resemble flat pepper!

I concluded This is simply a soft, aromatic spicy floral. At some point it got sweeter and creamier with a hint of musk.

What berries? Has our bottle gone off? Can hardly smell anything anyway

Useed to wear to work as I got my 1st job, and was on cloud 9 for as long as the bottle lasted: this is really THE fragrance to make a woman feel that she is PERFECT: I felt so complete wearing this! The dominant blackberry shares the spotlight with a very tender jasmine, and indeed there's a fizzy-bubbly quality to it, so it has a "zing" even many hours later after the spritz, and just enough sugar to distinguish it from unisex, but less than required to place it right onto the "tacky stuff" shelf: the sweetness amount is juuuuuuust right! Coming off a little powdery at the start, it clears up and has only a tiny soapy shade, which is just enough to make one feel a minute-ago-out-of-the bubble-bath fresh; then there's a cool fresh surge of morning spring air! - this gave me personally such a mood lift everytime, despite quite a rocky patch in life I was going through back in those days. It also gives an incredible amount of confidence: what ingredient exactly that is - god knows, but as if by magic I would feel like I was a very self-established successfull businesswoman, who knows what she wants and will be respected and valued at all times, but will not give up her femininity even if she wants to "wear the pants" sometimes! This fragrance is indeed unique and is not like anything from the wide floral range available these days: one of a kind, therefore makes you feel even more special. And it is not a pink fragrance that is worn by every 15-year old on the block, it is indeed more raspberry-lilac coloured with a transparent cotton veil (the powdery aspect) and it sounds incredibly sophisticated on the skin after the drydown. I 100% agree with those who chose it or is considering choosing it as a wedding fragrance: it has this " fresh new start" feel about it. I actually loved the bottle and its heaviness and stability: for a "got-up-too-late-so-running-like-a-headless-chicken-around-the-house" type that I am it was a godsent, since I was deeeeeeply traumatized once by dropping a tiny round flakon and losing the whole contents of a VERY pricey scent on the carpet ( that persisted smelling for years thus reminding me of that black day of the year!). For those, who like to travel through life with their perfume in a handbag there's a perfect solution such as a 30ml version of it - probably designed especially for that purpose, so I really can't see an issue with usage comfort here. The big bottle looks veeeery refined without looking like an item from an apothecary ( I know,I know, there's a charm in that too, but not for this kind of scent imho). I have used up 1 big bottle (75ml) and a small one (30ml), and after years of playing with other scents I am ready to come home to this one - for warm seasons ( it is so full of spring that I cannot imagine this being worn in winter, when I am gasping for a cosy or sultry oriental). It used to be my day-and-night scent, but as an eveningwear it only go with a sleek bordering on minimalistic look: straight lines, minimum accessories , an impeccable hairdo (updo) and pastel colours - the effortless chic that is so hard to attain sometimes! I can see this being a very obvious "rich b**ch scent, at least it makes me feel that not only I am worth a million - I also have one!:) Since I don't, I will be roaming ebay pages in a search of a bargain, starting now!

I bought it. It did not suit me at all. It was too heady and overpowering. I would not wear this in the daytime. Over time, it gave me a headache and made me feel sick. I think it was the berry influence. A pity because I did think it was nice in the beginning when I bought it.

THREE YEARS DOWN THE TRACK THIS PERFUME GREW ON ME.EITHER MY TASTE HAS CHANGED OR MY CHEMISTRY. IT SMELLS WONDERFUL ON MY SKIN. LOOKS INNOCENT BY THE COLOUR OF THE FLUID, BUT WOW VERY SEXY AND ALLURING.

This is a nice, fresh and fruity perfume but nothing special at least in my opinion. The oriental version of this one Gucci by Gucci is much better and lasts much longer. This one i can hardly detect after an hour. A little bit disappointed, will finish my bottle but will not purchase it again

Fruity and very floral, I love this perfume! My bottle is nearly empty and I will definitely repurchase. It has a wonderful clean and fresh scent.

Oh, I so love this..... Warm, peppery spiced blackberry, hints of violet - woody undertones, musky, sexy, yummy - perfect for the autumn/winter I think. Maybe my favourite perfume right now. I certainly don`t think this is a young `girls` perfume as many have said, its not your typical pink, fruity fragrance (I`m not a fan of fruity perfumes as a rule) - its elegant & deep, but never overpowering. Lasts all day, can still catch a whiff in my hair the next morning! Beautifully weighty, simple bottle, oozes class. Just gorgeous!

I bought this perfume 6 years ago in Greece, it was stolen after a month of use with my bag. I was hearbroken. Now after 6 years I bought it and I am exactly in love with it as before and reminds me of a great month I spent there. It something I can't get enough of. Im in a half of bottle now and thinking of buying a new one to be sure I will not run out of it.
It's perfect fragrance and I love violet notes in it.
In dedication to my beloved perfume I created FB fan site and hope we all gather there since in some countries it's not available anymore - and that's a shame for Gucci since there's no other frangrance from their line I would love so much (excepting men's eau de parfum II).

Fruity floral fragrance.

I don't like this blackberry musky fragrance, because it brings me associations with the pink color and the baby doll style, which I don't like a lot. And, actually, in general this fragrance remind me more raspberry scent than blackberry.

Too girlish. Too pink. Not my cup of tea(

I think this is a very nice perfume, well-balanced as there's not too much fruit, too many flowers or too much musk. It's light, gentle and unobtrusive, I think. I could see this as being one that would work well at work. I see it as more of a spring and summer scent.
On me, it doesn't last long and I find that it tends to fall a little flat, unfortunately, but I think it's very nice on other people if it works with their chemistry.

gucci II is a mature floral-fruity! Sexy,feminine,soft! Verry well blended! The blackberry and black currant are there throught out the all fragrance! But,the jasmine,peony and violet makes it feminine and mature! The cedar wood makes a nice and soft base.the musk completes that beautiful blend of fruits and flowers! Perfect for a summer night!

I have a most gorgeous vegan and cruelty free oil imitation of this scent. I cannot tell you how the original smells,as I have never smelled it. But I will be reviewing my imitation of it:)

The oil is so very juicy fresh,with fruits,citrus of bitter oranges,mandarins ready to be plucked from trees,green crisp leaves of cassia (gently green,not gripping green).There is a strong note of black currants,so sweet like nature's gentle candy wine,but the leaves really tone the sweetness down.

There is the nutty, creamy feel of a warm purple heliotrope flower necklace draped over your heart. This flower note adds such texture to this dreamy scent.

Just a smidgeon of white flower petals I do sense. Some peony and lily of the valley (I am not really sensing jasmine) these petals add lovely touches to the layers. :)

There is also a soft woody note,just touches of cedar branches.

I find it so lovely on a hot summer day. The juicy feeling and the breezy fruit air,makes harmony on a scorching day. This scent will not overwhelm the senses.

I find the Gucci II oil imitation lasts a good 5 hours on my skin,and then I can easily re-apply. :)

Initially, my coworker brought this in to work on a strip that she let me smell. I loved it at first whiff. She kept saying she hated it because it smelled like pepper. That was my favorite part! So fast forward to now and I'm at Ikea looking around. This lady passes me and i ask her what she is wearing and she says she is wearing this! Wow! Fragrance comes full circle! So, now I know I must buy it! What are the chances I'd run in to it twice and still love it! LOL!

I've never smelt anything like this (although I haven't really tried that many!). Spicy powder on first smell, but the pleasant kind.

This was a blind buy and it arrived yesterday as I was leaving for work, after showing and already having sprayed another perfume. I couldn't wait and sprayed it on top.

Well, I do physical sweaty work all day, and at the end of the day I could still smell this, and no trace of the other.

Great lasting power on me, unusual fragrance.. which I like (so many similar fragrances gets very boring), and very pleasant. Thumbs up for me =)

UPDATE: I'm addicted. This smells sooo pretty! No matter how crap I feel, or how run down I look, I feel like a princess when I spray it.. will buy again and again!

My brother gave this to me several years ago. He worked for Sephora--I was a lucky girl then! I didn't like it. I tried and tried to like it. There was something in it that I couldn't describe that just didn't work on me. In the end, I gave it to a friend. In the past few years, my taste in fragrance has changed tremendously, so I thought, maybe I'll like it now. I tested it again. In the first 5 minutes, I smelled something soft and sweet, like berries, soft woods, and powder. But all-too-soon the berries disappeared, and all I could smell was that "thing" I didn't like about it. It was still there. I finally realized the right word is "bitter." It's very bitter, unlike any perfume I've ever smelled. I think this could be so beautiful on the right woman (or man?), but bitter doesn't work for me. It's soft and elegant, definitely classic, sadly just not on me.

I smell a dark berry with masculine, sharp cedar. It does not seem sweet or warm but bright and crisp. I love the heavy bottle/cap and light, pink/lavender color. I think this is a good early spring scent when the air is warming, the sun is bright and the snow is melting.

it's a kind of a pink scent, but not candy(sugary) like. I feel blackberries and peony most of all and cedar "lets" them settle. Really sexy, stylish and I think it's good for all seasons.

I purchased this perfume at an airport when I was getting off the plane and wanted to smell nice. (Since airport security throws out liquid, I could not carry my own.) This was 6 years ago. I have purchased 3 bottles since then, but it goes quick because the bottle is so heavy and mostly glass. I love this perfume and whenever I wear it EVERYONE always asks because they love it. ;-) I never tell them, this perfume is my secret :-) It is more of a going out at night perfume. Not your daily type :-) But you must smell this perfume first before purchasing. Its not everyones taste!

This is not an easy going, fresh, young berry scent as you may expect from the notes, not at all. It is full of pepper which for me destroys whole composition.
I was expecting a pink, young scent, a bit fruity sweetness, something that fits jeans & white t-shirt.. But this is too spicy and heavy, and I find nothing in common with Jeanne Lanvin. If you like Jeanne Lanvin and want to give this a try just because you like the other, please do not. These are completely in different leagues..
Jeanne is a citrusy / raspberry and definitely easygoing young fruity floral. But this one is gross, stuffed with pepper.

I have to agree with the two reviews that are below me this one is head turner it is SEX in a bottle when I wear this my other half and can not keep his hands off me .Men ask me what I am wearing so they can buy it for their ladies.It is just so sophisticated and sexy .LOVE IT!!

This a sexy fruity bomb of candy. I literally ONLY wear this when I am going out to a party. It's way too much for a daily perfume. There is a sorority girl element to it, but not so much as Miss Dior Cherie, or any of the other candy fruit bombs that rule the perfume market today. Overall, I like it but once my bottle is out I am never buying it again.

I had it when it first came up, and reminds me first dates with my boyfriend. Floral and spicy. Very romantic. I think I ll buy another one just to become 20 again....

Wish the scent would last longer !! I Like it 'cause is clean and fresh, I find many florals too much for the senses, and fruity scents often too sweet or too citrus, however this is a perfectly balanced blend that is feminine, subtle and sophisticated, and has just a touch of warmth that I do not find powdery at all . A great day-to-night year-round fragrance.

Gucci II is a spicy fruity luxurious fragrance. Blackberry and blackcurrant for a sweet spiciness with violet for a soft powdery note. Light jasmine and a touch of bitter orange and mandarin. Heliotrope and cedarwood for a smooth dry down. Absolutely love this gorgeous scent!

to love the scent I must find it either vey pleasant and neutral (not too heavy)at the same time or unique..this one is very unique,u wont find anything similar!spicy but fresh and when it comes to occasions when to wear it it's very versatile

BEAUTIFUL. one of my favourites in my collection. Fresh, fruity (rasberry almost) fun, girly scent. If you want a perfume out of impulse or have never smelled this one before. This one is a safe bet. LOVE it.

I bought this perfume 6 yrs ago in Greece on vacation, used it every night when was going to club as a young girl and used to have those perfect summer nights...but after coming home it was stolen as brand new with my bag...now after a looong time sprayed it on my skin and couldn't wait to buy it again, so bought it right away and I'm still amazed how marvelous it is...I absolutely love it. It's a perfume in which was a hard work put in. It's not the kind of perfume that would be similar to any other. It's unique like dior addict. Once u smell it on someone you will know..! :)

This one is nice , But i cant come ower the peppery start. I guess it is the cassia or somthing , it is so peppery but blended whit the peony(this one can be peppery to)Violets , freesia ,Cedar , berrys and more. it is delicios , but i cant sniff up close one my wrist right away. this turns to instant head ache ..
But this is a delicios and fun , flirty , girly. I do get the a bit distant feal to this.. Like a lady that you do not want to step to close to. She like here distans , and do not let you that close .. (Dont get me wrong , Nothing wrong whit that)

Love this elegant and cheerful perfume. It always lifts my spirits and makes me think of spring; although I think it works at all times of year. It's one of those fragrances that changes on you in all seasons. In spring and summer it's bright and cheerful; but in fall and winter, you tend to focus more on the woodsy smells in the fragrance. To me, that's a sign of a great fragrance. Way to go Gucci! This is definitely modern; but with a complexity that harkens back to vintage compilations. I must admit however, that the bath soap and the lotion don't smell the same as the fragrance for me.
