I got gifted this from a friend who gets given tester display perfumes for free by his workplace.

I didn't care for it at first, but I didn't mind it. So, I sprayed it for casual errands, etc. I ended up growing to become fond of this scent and now I'm close to the end of my bottle and I don't want it to end!

This is a scent you either love off the bat or it grows on you. I love perfumes because one sniff can take you back to a certain time in your life. This perfume has become nostalgic to me in a way most perfumes haven't, and I grew to really appreciate its unique spiciness. I never regret it whenever I reach for this in my collection.

JLorenz

This scent is definitely very unique and sexy! I have noticed that it smells the best in cold weather... several years ago I went to Hawaii and tried to spray this on me, but alas, it smelled extremely cloying to my nose. It can still be found on eBay, so don't miss out on this amazing scent. If you live in a predominantly cold region, this is the scent for you!

solocha

I have a 30 ml bottle of this for sale on the UK ebay.co.uk, listed for a short time.

qofb

If you loved this and miss it and are in the UK, try Superdrug Layering Labs Exotic Body Mist, it is very very similar... Much cheaper too 😉

xababyxaforluv

Black XS for Men, but much more toned done and floral. To me, this smells like vanilla and slight sandalwood and pink pepper.

SandyToess

I am selling the original formulation bottle with the rose at the top - 50ml over half full, uk only. Not my scent profile at all.

NataliaBonc

I first bought it when I was going to high school, probably 2007 when it was launched, and I really loved it. Some friends still remember me wearing this perfume (for sure I was unaware of its power🤣)! It was really strong and delicious! I think I purchased it probably three times. I would love to find it again!

Axxn

One of my first perfumes, I loved it! It’s sad that it discontinued as it’s such a unique scent.

Lilah_lilah2023

I used to love this perfume, so warm, sexy and sultry. Sad they don't make it anymore. Definitely not a daily perfume as it is very strong. But I just loved it. Bring it back plz 😞

iammelody

I have the older bottle; the one with the rose on it. I actually worked for Coty when it launched, and they sent us to a few nightclubs to hand out samples to promote it, so I have some nostalgia associated with but I was never 100% into the fragrance because I find it to lean a tad masculine, which doesn't suit me that much. I still think it's pretty unique. I get quite a bit of cranberry and chocolate on my skin but in order for me to enjoy its best qualities, I need to layer it with something that's going to balance out the masculineness of it. This will sound like an incredibly bizarre mix, but BBW Pink chiffon (lotion), and Al rehab's Chocomusk make an incredible trio, and that's how I wear this.
I go through the trouble of layering simply because I don't want to declutter the bottle due to the nostalgia, and if I can make it work, I might as well get the use out of it!

scarlett.angel

Sadly reformulated. My bottle is from the mid 2000s and has a rose printed above the writing, as well as the big rose emblem on the front. It's super strong, so much that I can smell it from the bottle, and where I sprayed it on the cardboard opening months ago. Lasts forever on me, cloying on clothing, one spray max. Almost smells like cherries, dark chocolate and vanilla. I should've bought a back up bottle because now it's impossible to find in stores. Not sure what the newer ones smell like, but if it doesn't have the rose printed on the bottle, it's definitely a reformulated version.

Lexvanova

This perfume is dear to my heart, I have such fond memories of my teenage years with it. It’s all I would wear!
Every time I smell this, all memories pour in.
It’s bold and somewhat sweet, dark and has that “edgy teen “ vibe. I wouldn’t wear it anymore but it’s a good scent.

Laurus

I have just bought this from Kruidvat which is a local drugstore here in the Netherlands so I am sure this is genuine. This is a very light scent. I am also someone who does not like strong perfume but I call this light. Usually I spray perfumes 1 or 2 times. This I sprayed 3 times and it is still not too strong. It starts to me with shower fresh smell. Very fresh, pleasant and not overly sweet at all. After a couple of hours I get the lovely chocolatey scent, again not cloying but more like a skinscent. The bottle looks like youre going to get an overly sweet teenage fragrance but this is a beauty. I feel absolutely zero resemblance to Angel which I strongly dislike. Also compared to Lady Million Privee this is less sweet and less cloying. I prefer this because I feel it is more unique. I am curious to see how this juice develops when it stays in the bottle like previous reviewer advised. I could not test this because it was not available anywhere. This was blind buy and zero regrets. This is love. I want to get the eau de parfum version to compare.

suzanne_ronald

Sparkling CRANBERRY & CHOCOLATE. This beauty has been reformulated to death. Originally signed by perfumers Emilie Bevierre-Coppermann and Mark Buxton, performance now requires several months of dark storage after first sprays (develops to average or slightly above average). Opens with a burst of sparkly cranberry patchouli that sweetens onto a cacao & rose heart resting on a massoia wood & patchouli base. Has reminders for me of of the Angel range by Mugler.

Contrast to Maa Arwaak Rasasi:
This is a dupe, but they aren't totally identical but. When compared side by side, MA has a slight pencil shaving note on the skin initially. As they dry down they become more and more identical.

Contrast to Angel Mugler:
With its cult following, it's difficult to compare anything to Angel, which is instantly recognizable and in its own class imo. However, there are some striking similarities, both having a tart & prickly fruit accord over a chocolate-patchouli base. Black XS has cranberry instead of pineapple, and the chocolate is somehow darker in contrast with the chocolate & near-gingerbread of Angel.

Overall: with average or slightly above average performance after storage, this beauty will have a nostalgic vibe for many noses. Enjoy!

GirlOnFire

I really wanted to like this one. People were saying it had creamy chocolate (where?!), that it was sexy and spicy (huh?!), or that it was bold and daring (how?!). This not only has terrible performance, but it smells like watered down hairspray (kind of Paul Mitchell-esque). No depth, darkness, gothic sultriness to be found. This is a scent for teenagers. The only thing that sticks out really is cheap and synthetic cranberry.

Suncica7

Heaven. Is anyone selling it and shipping it to Montenegro, Europe?

Elfin Will

I went to test this perfume just by curiosity. From the first sniff my reaction was: Oh but I know this scent so well! Everyone used to spray it when I was a young teenager! This scent really took me back 15 years in the past.
I don't particularly like it, but it's nice... a bit retro by now, just like Angel by Mugler. I think I prefer it to the 2018 EDP version. Weird enough, this EDT is more interesting, spicier, and even more intense than the EDP!

Black XS was one of my very first’ expensive’ perfume buys , when it launched.
I was captivated by the bottle mainly.
I remember the first time i sprayed it , i wasn’t quite sure about the scent, to me initially, it reminded me of fresh washed denim jeans, with the blue fleecy fabric softer, which is one scent that physically makes me ill.
Its, powdery .. headache inducing.
Personally, i do believe it is a very original scent .

I adore those odd ball scents , like Angel & Believe. Patchouli based are my go too’s , so upsetting that i didn't catch a note of that in this scent . I just couldn’t get past the overwhelming’ fabric softer’ note .. it last long, and carries a great scent throw .
Unfortunately, not my favourite .

Gyps

Had this in the EDT version. Nice smell but lasted 5 minutes on my skin unfortunately, as I did like the fragrance. Gave it away to my granddaughter.

Mirabele

i bought this for my daughter about a year ago, since the price was good and she is into sweet scents and she was a bit into that phase with black here and black dr martins at that time. she didn't care for the scent at all, and her style has changed many times since then. we kept the bottle anyway but i am the one to use it sometimes. it is not as strong as many people say here and definitely not as strong as i perceive from reading the reviews, this was the main reason why i didn't try to sell it. it is very moderate/subtle in its strength and not very long lasting. our bottle is vintage and i am not sure how well it was kept and i am thinking probably thats why lost most of its strength. it is cranberries, cacao, dark and patchouli, and some rose. dark and rebellious, yes, mostly for young people, teenagers and young women, i kind of see it this way. definitely not for me, i am at the age where my daughter is a teenager, and my son is young adult. my usual perfume style is subtle clean scents, so this is as far as it goes to be almost the opposite. i do not perceive the perfume as very sweet, not as i have imagined from the reviews, probably the cranberries and patchouli balance it out, here is this unisex/edgy part may come from. i personally not a fan of rose/patchouli since it is not my style, and not a fan of patchouli/sweet /since it smells a bit like sweat sometimes to me) so usually i stay away from the scents with those notes in profile, but this one just keeps it not too much going in either direction. i use it some days at home, after work as a relax scent since it is a comforting and so different from my good girl everyday scents that i usually use and love. i like that rebellion/gothic part of the scent and i think it comes out very nicely, so i do understand what so many reviewers talk about, i like the concept. it is autumn/winter evening perfume to me. since i am very cautious about patchouli/rose/sweet combo, i would never wear it in public, but i enjoy it time after time for some quiet evenings at home.

BigBobRoss

Warm sweet fruity vanilla smells like a fruity tart...

Very feminine

Above average longevity and sillage

Chiquita Virtual

This was my scent when I was 16 yo while in my emo phase. I absolutely love it still! Tamarind & violets make such an amazing combination.

jadesfragrances

i had the gift set years ago but gave the bottle away since i really wasn’t keen. well, today i found the matching lotion from that set. exactly as i remember - it just really overwhelms me, like the scent almost gets stuck in my airways. i find it very overpowering. i can’t put that down to it’s performance since i’d never been able to wear it long enough to find out how it performs. i’m thinking maybe it’s just because i don’t like it, so as long as i can smell it, it’s bothering me.
honestly i’m not sure what it is that gives it that effect. i’ve got nothing against any of the notes listed, in fact i like the majority of them. the only way i could describe it is like a sweet, yet very spicy musk. i get no florals, no fruit and definitely no vanilla or cacao.

SmellyCat85

I bought this because people on here said it smelled exactly like Black Opium so I thought I’d get this as a cheaper alternative. I wanted to like it so badly but sadly it’s not for me. In my personal opinion it’s nothing like Black Opium. This is very spicy, sharp and has a definite masculine feel to it. Black Opium is much sweeter and creamier. Won’t buy again sadly.

amyaz

There is something comforting about this scent but also smells a bit basic... like when I was 14 and not crazy into fragrance, if someone said "perfume" this is probably what I would have imagined.
It's sweet for sure, but also kind of powdery on me. I can pick out that splash of cranberry. I feel like it's a safe blind buy if you like Britney spears fantasy ot even black opium. Not a bad perfume, I'll test it out again at some point, not sure if I'd personally go full bottle on it though.
Also I get the similarities between this and the red loverdose perfume, if you have that I don't think you need this too.

Maggybutch69

Yes correct this perfume us nice, and gourmand.
Though it's such a typical perfume celebrity smell that you'd expect every girl in this current era, it's deffs more of a quality perfume compared to the other ones though and has a tiny special something too it.
Typical sweet but nice perfume xx
IF YOU WANNA SMELL LIKE EVERYONE ELSE BLOODY GO FOR IT :D

aralsheart

I used to wear it back in my teenage years (around 2015-2016 ish). It was one of my first perfumes. Loved it back then, but now I find it... urgh. Overwhelming, nauseating, overly sweet. I caught a whiff of it in a perfume shop not long ago and I just don't like it anymore.

Tanny_ups2

This perfume was a hit back in 2007-2008 and it remains me to the good old times! It also reminds me to Black Opium but I can tell this so much better! I miss this fragrance around

Ninalovesclassy

People tend to forget that YSL Black Opium literally smells exactly like this one and I was so surprised when it came, that no one commented on that. Very likeable, super generic and boring.

scarlett.angel

This is the original 2007 version before it got reformulated. I've had a 50ml bottle of this and it's still going strong. I dread the day when I finish it and have to try the reformulation. This was one of the first fragrances that made me fall in love with perfumes. I still wear this on days when I'm depressed as it's an instant mood lifter yet slightly sad too for me. It's so nostalgic of the 2000's pre-covid days when I was still allowed to dress up gothic and go to concerts like Evanescence without crazy mandates. On me this lasts forever and 3 sprays is enough. Smells of everything I love. Roses, cocoa, and vanilla but with a dark twist. It's very sweet but the earthy notes give it a slight masculine edge and prevent it from going into these days "smells like every other generic fruitchouli" territory. Back when everyone still smoked cigarettes instead of vaping, the scent would mix well with the tobacco too. Sillage is amazing for hours, then dries down to a pleasant vanilla skin scent. I remember going out on dates and hugging my ex who would always say the scent remained on his shirt or pillow and remind him of me the next day <3

I remember my mum gifting me a bottle of this on one of my 20-something birthdays. Back when she still knew what I liked and times were good. I immediately fell in love with the beautiful bottle with a rose on it and still keep it in the original box.

I'm 34 now and refuse to grow up. I love that the 90s-2000s are back in style and I still have this. Whenever I'm sad I spritz a bit of this, listen to my favourite 2000s Spotify playlists, and hope for better days ahead. Some people will say this is only for teens-20s but I think fragrance is timeless.

ren

I used to have this masterpiece! Very sexy..intoxicating. Cranberries plus cocoa wow! So yummy and just mesmerizing smell! I must buy it again!!

Hunnynpink

The opening is spicy cherry/cranberry and licorice, syrupy and medicinal. As it dries down I get an earthy tamarind then sweet vanilla. Unique dark sexy

MademoiselleMaya

It is very wearable and likeable.
I hope the new version is similar, because my vintage starts to turn slightly. Still, it smells perfectly after 5 minutes.

Great all-year-scent. Day-nighter too.
It is fresh, it is sensual, it is even slightly warm but cool at the same time.
A mystery.

Such a master creation - memorable, wearable and original.
Cranberries and violet.
Rose and patchouli.
Pink pepper and cocoa.
Vanilla somewhere on the back-seat.

So feminine.
Fairy-like.
Temptress worthy.

Such a master class like Poeme, Tresor, Coco Mademoiselle, J'Adore, Dolce Vita, Le Feu, Ultraviolet, Halloween, Rush, Lou Lou Blue.

Timeless.

Nephalia

I had this perfume for my 15th birthday and even then it felt it was too grown up for me. lol. But i loved it, i was sort of an emo / goth so i solely picked it for the bottle as the edgy teen i was and the "woman rite of passage" i went through by my mom. It's a very spicy and long lasting fragrance, i went to school by 8 am and i'd come home at 3pm still smelling sweet. It definitely has a lot of personality and it's strong fragrance does become your signature smell. The Patchouli/woody notes definitely adds some androgynous scent after the first sweet spray. It will forever be my edgy teens scent, tho i think it'd fit a late teen, early 20's person.

Soccergreat88

I really like this. It's alike angel or angel muse since it has that Cocoa and sweet dirtiness. It's definitely a winter and night perfume for cold weather as this is a heavy scent. Don't blind buy but enjoyable for people who like Angel, Angel Muse, and Cocoa, Licorice, dark sweet scents

Yussra smki

It used to be my favorite perfume for ages, I used it for 6 years couldn’t find something better until I tried lady million and it became my favorite now.
Black xs (the old version) is really strong and has a special scent represents a wild, strong and out going personality.
I used to wear it day and night in summer and winter but I recommend it more as night fall winter perfume.
Really long lasting.
The new versing of black xs ( in which they removed pachmoli from base notes and added sandal wood instead ) is not that strong it’s softer and more for summer.

qofb

This definitely strikes me as a unisex fragrance. My bottle leaked a bit unfortunately. I am unsure whether that resulted in a bit of a plasticky note to this fragrance or not but that was what I smelt along with the cranberry and a warm patchouli, woods, cocoa and a bit of rose. Short lived on me, maybe 3 hours, with low to medium projection. I felt as if I was whisked back 15 years wearing this. Not a love but an interesting experience. I've seen this for sale online at tkmaxx and in Savers in the UK if anyone wants it.

Tishreen_iris

There is aperfume from lamis company
called "darkfever" just like this in aprice about 10$ but it's longevity is about one hour as it's low price
U get what u pay for👍😊
There is alot of arabic and turkish dupes cheap prices with good projections
I mentioned them in my insta account if you want more dupes
@tishreen011

Vain

Such a beautiful fragrance. The one that inspired my love for fragrances to begin with!

It reminds me of being a teenager. Those cold autumn/winter days. Scarves, leather jackets, ripped skinny jeans. Absolutely stunning.

It is intoxicating, but not in an annoying way. Blended perfectly on my skin, created this sweet-spicy coat. I've always received compliments while wearing this. On me it was warm and cozy. It's sweet, but rebellious. Truly a gem. Maybe, I'm biased, because this holds so much memories and wonderful moments from my life.

Would I wear it now? Maybe. But I have a strong association with my teenage years and now I prefer more mature perfumes. However, I truly think the original XS is the one and only!

HawaiiMoon88

I used to love this perfume so much, me and my two friends used to wear it when we were teens. The days of being in love with these sweet, intoxicating scents. Like guys wearing lynx africa ;'D.

I'd still wear this perfume now to be honest. It is fun, sexy, flirty, juicy, sweet, sensual and warm.

Love! very intoxicating but not in a heavy or headachey way at all...

missogi

This reminds me a lot of Fatale Intense by Agent Provocateur, even though the notes are different. Somehow I smell licorice, which shouldn't be present according to fragrantica.
It's very heavy on patchouli, reminds me of Angel. If you like one of these two, you'll like Black XS.

natasha28

Review is for my own reference - LOVE at first spray! At first I get peppery and sweet rose notes. She's a sassy bold lady, yet still femme. On the dry down I smell more of a woody pepper and slight sweetness. I can understand that not everyone would like this, bc its a very unisex peppery woody scent, but I really like it. It's an EDT so I worry the lasting power wont be there, and the silage isn't that great. Fragrantica says its a Floral Woody Musk, but the package say Fruity Floral Woody fragrance.

I wish this was cheaper to buy, even on discount websites it's pricey ($80 for 100ml). If I could get it for $50 or less i would buy, buy there are other scents that take priority for buying. It's a really nice rocker femme scent <3 I had a feeling I would like this by the bottle. I also love Lancome's Midnight Rose Tresor, that perfume is more sweet and less pepper, but it's a beautiful rose without being too old or floral.

I prefer the dry-down woodsy notes of 007, and I prefer the fruitiness or Black XS PR, really hard to choose between the two!!

GabrielleeeeeW

Yuck, I did not like this! I'm always on the hunt for a perfume with a good chocolate note but this isn't it. I was excited about the cranberry note too but it came across as synthetic. Something about this perfume reminds me of hairspray. It's not overly sweet or fruity, or even spicy. There's just a screechy sharp note that takes over. Longevity/sillage seems to be good.

cat1994

This perfume was my go-to during my teenage years. It was my step up from Fantasy by Britney Spears, and I loved it. At the time I was all about sugary sweet, vanilla-cacao type of scents (very different to what I came to enjoy as an adult), so I was utterly obsessed with this. My parents hated it as I had a habit of putting on too much. I could smell it on me, no matter how long I had been wearing it for or how long I had been using it for. I seem to also recall some spiciness. I have no idea if they changed the formula -- but it was certainly a thumbs up from my 13 year old self!

CreepyKid

Actually really enjoy Black Xs for her even though I'm a dude. On my skin it has a nice dark cocao rose almost citrus warmth with a slight tartness from the cranberry. I've tried the men's version and it's just too weak and teenagerish for me. Weird how sometimes a women's fragrance can be more masculine on a man than the men's counterpart. ET Passion is a good example of the same thing for me. Decent longevity and I'd say bottle worthy for me personally. As others have said it truly does illicit images of the Myspace and Scene era. Kids in skinny jeans and band tees, neon colors, girls with razorcut hair and a hundred bracelets at Hot Topic going rawwrr. I had friends who were part of that subculture and could totally see them wearing the various Black Xs scents.

North lily

I want to buy this I like the bottle and hopefully I will love the scent too 🌺

Enzot82

Hi guys!
Do you know the difference between the black package with a red rose in the middle and the other one with a pink rose? Is the same scent?

scarlett.angel

I'll always love this haha. I have a huge bottle of the EDT. Lasts a long time on skin, forever on clothing. It's so strong though it can become cloying, I never wear this if I feel a headache coming on. The bottle and the scent reminds me of the 2000s, the good old days, pop/punk/rock music, Myspace, all the fun stuff before the world went to sh!t. I'm planning on wearing it to a "2000s Emo + Pop Punk" outdoor event here in Australia. It's winter too, and it smells so much better when you're wrapped up in layers of clothing and goes well with smoking cigarettes all night 🤘🎶💖

janne91

I LOVE this, it has been my go-to for years, and pretty much my signature scent for years.

lyrily

Can't wear this because the opening is plain not enjoyable; dry and bitter and headache inducing. Maybe its the tamarind or cranberry. It a shame because the dry down isn't bad and I bought it (in 2014) after a friend stayed at my house and left the room smelling amazing. Sadly didn't smell so great on me!

noircat

I wanted to like this. I wanted something dark, spicy, interesting, but this was just boring synthetic fruitiness on me.

sashazor

Oh man, just looking at the bottle brings me flashbacks of my teenage years when I wore this all the time.

I recall really strong chcolate/vanilla notes with a slight spice to it. The sillage was massive, the longevity was incredible. It was a sugar bomb through and through, and at the time, I loved it.

Only issue I had with this perfume is that over the years the scent really, REALLY changed and turned wayyy too sweet, almost nasty. But I have really fond memories of this.

I felt super flirty wearing it!

Laralaritaaa

This is a review of the former EDT version. Haven’t tried the current EDP ver to make an actual comparison and honestly, I’m not interested to try it either since I already know I will be disappointed.
I’m familiar with this perfume since I was a pre-teen. And I finally got it a while ago. I only wore it once, but I’m aiming to wear it more often this winter.
The opening is so sharp and a tad masculine, the cranberry note is loud and acid, you can also detect the pink pepper. However give it a few minutes until it warms up... and the beauty of this perfume appears. On my skin, it develops BEAUTIFULLY. The cacao note is very sweet, and femenine, blended with a warm, sexy vanilla. So yummy. There’s some undefined florals floating there that give it a bit of complexity. Linear, but I don’t mind. I love floating in a cacao cloud. Longevity and projection are amazing, a lot better than most EDP of the current market.

LaContessina

Well, it's almost your average fruity floral, with the so in-fashion woody notes in the drydown.

A berry start, sweet and perhaps cloying but the violet, the deep rose and a touch of cocoa make it more interesting and deep than your average fruity floral.
It has a kinda sexy note due to the loads of patchouli & vanilla in the dry down.

Interesting, fares way more better than the Lady Million stuff, however will not be a gamechanger in the history of perfumery....

Cliche1206

Was there a black XS made before 2007? I swear I wore it before then. Please someone answer me!!!
EDIT: I FOUND IT!!!! The original edt version! I’m so happy. And I’m still trying to figure out the relation with this to black opium because I owned this for years and black opium now and I just can’t see it. Or smell it, rather. BO Is a ton more musky and I feel like the notes in Black XS are a lot more separated but to each his own nose.
I have a very small (I think it’s 1oz, I’ll double check of BO that I’m looking to trade. Brand new.

Cliche1206

I honestly can’t believe I just came across this scent. I used to wear it when I was younger and had forgotten about it but not that I remember it, I’d like to have some around. Wow! Did I read a comment tho down below that it’s not the same anymore??

grapefruit352

Reminds to me very much Fatale Intense Agent Provocateur. The notes are not that much alike, but I get a feeling that they are very similar. Oriental, spicy, dark and a little bit heavy scent (in a okay way). Not a fresh, not a fruity, not so sweet, warm and quite intensive scents. The base is vanilla and woods, the heart notes are rose and other flowers. Upper notes have a little bit sour dark berries. There is a pepper note in both of them. The difference mostly is that Black XS has a Cacao note and Fatale Intense has Licorice. And Black XS has a patchouli in the base and Fatale Intense has Leather. But the complex of those components makes they sound quite similar.
Also Black XS sound like YSL Black Opium..Black Opium- there is a coffee note on the warm and spicy patchoulish base. But..you know..Coffee and Cacao they do not differ too much from each other in the complicated scents like those ones. They sound smoother and less direct, which makes them brothers (together with Fatale Intense of Agent Provocateur).

[Finished and repurchased full 80ml bottle. Usage in all year around high humidity tropical climate near sea breeze.] Purchased this perfume as I was in love with male version of black xs which is sexy and seductive all year around for all age. Luckily the female version of black xs carried the exact same vibe. Just like the bottle, it is dark, not gourmand, more seductive and 'badass' type of rebelling scent. Great for those who wants a unique and original vanilla. It does not smell cheap but not in an elegant way. I would say the elegant sibling of this would be hypnotic poison. This scent will linger around you as a deep spicy and citrus vanilla. Perfectly blended and so beautiful. I've used this all season, all year around. Love smelling on others and on myself.

Sunkissed

I wore this for years and it brings me nice memories, but it just isn't my thing anymore. I don't even know if it was my thing to begin with, as I was gifted a big bottle and just made it suit my style and repurchased it when I ran out because I was so used to it. I still remember receiving the first box of this perfume, it even came with a pendant necklace or something like that.
This scent makes me think of young women who like to dress in an alternative cool style and know what they want. Smells like warm chocolate mixed with cramberry. A little synthetic.

Dark and feminine. Long lasting, good sillage.

rociito.moon

I don't like it. It has all the right notes, but the mix smells unrefined and plastic. Also the sillage and longevity are really poor. I don't find it sensual or feminine... I think it would have been perfect for the 18 or 20 years me, but now I can't find any redeeming quality in it...

Nourhan

Gorgeous! It reminds me of black opium so much

PerfumeDoll

Cocoa, rose and juicy red berries, the initial blast reminds me of a chocolate bar with Turkish delight inside. Mmmm
As the scent developes on my skin the wood notes appear.

Lidell

Black XS smells like young, boozy summer nights that invite you for an adventure that you will mainly enjoy and likely survive.
It is yummy with an edge (patch here is earthy and hippy/goth), easy but not naive, all fishnet stockings, choker, cranberry chapstick with Converse sneakers - makes you feel really ready to go.

Not your niche work of art, but surely not your generic floral-fruity either - rather a pretty unforgettable, attractive twenty-something.

MahaS

I am not sure why lately most designers are just getting rid of fragrances that are a hit. I have been trying to get a hold of all my loved fragrances that I used when I was younger and quite a few of them have been discontinued. Crazy thing is when I read the comments here everyone seems to be pretty sad about it. I got a hold of the EDP (the current version) and to me it smells really bad. It's cloying and I can't see how this could be a good replacement for the original one. Anyways, it's a sweet but not overpowering fragrance. Very long lasting, I used to work at nightclubs when I was young and I could still smell it on my clothing after 10 hours of spraying it on before going to work.

If someone is thinking about purchasing this you should. It's way better than the new one.

hellogoddag

This is a dark sensual one.
Red berries, cacao and other edible stuff.
Absolutely feminine!
Very sweet, but with a well placed bitter backbone

Eternity Girl

The first time I got a whiff of this my mind went bing bong boying !!!
I had never come across a perfume like it ever and it really was magical. It was winter time and it felt cozy and warm, exotic and intoxicating and I couldn't stop thinking about it until I got some.
Its very special and I covet it. My nose mostly detects cranberry, other red berries, violets and rose and soft sweet woods with a spicy punch. Quite sharp to begin with but settles into a soft powdered version of the opening later on.
Im excited to try to newest edp version.

pacsalia

Does somebody know any Information about liquidation of this fragrance? Did you guys heard that? I know it`s also an edp Version but that`s not the same :( I`m afraid that i can not buy Black XS edt again because it`s my signature, my absolutely favourite, SCENT of my life….

latafan

For me this will always be what my best friend from school/uni times smells like.

She's a gorgeous woman with an olive tan, dark brown hair and cat green eyes. She's turning heads wearing a sweater and sneakers just as much as when she's wearing an evening dress. She loves to dance and does it whenever there's a chance. She loves to have fun and is sometimes a little too passionate for her own good, but she's also insanely conscientious and loyal. And all throughout our friendship she's been always patient with me even when I really didn't always deserve it. And when she hugs you this is the scent you breath in.
Now after many years of living in a different country than her, whenever I get a whiff of it somewhere I get a little nostalgic pang in my heart. But it's okay. This reaction is just all the more proof of the great times we had together.

Anyway, to add a little bit more objectivity to this review, this is an amazing long lasting sensual, sweet and a little naughty fragrance for women in their 20s or any woman who still feels 20 in her heart! On my friend it used to last easily throughout a night of dancing. Sillage depends very much on dosage I guess. It is possible to get a nice scent bubble with this. I remember she would get complimented on it by both men and women.

I highly recommend it, even though I personally could never wear it, just because in my heart it'll be hers always :)

Monita86

I've heard that hellebore noir rose is considered as witches' flower so it was obvious for me to buy. :D It was long ago but the scent and my relationship with it is still the same.

mydearestagony

My very first 'real' perfume and one that will forever be my signature scent despite the now-rising costs of the EDT (which in my opinion is superior to the EDP).

It isn't an easy fragrance to describe... definite elements of sweetness, yet with a spicy flair and heavy enough to feel far more ethereal than edible. It reminds me of late nights, rock concerts and rich velvet. Lasts amazingly well too, I can smell it on collars of coats not worn for nearly a week.

Black XS isn't childish by any means, but it's also not overly mature or old lady-ish like a lot of the darker and heavier perfumes I've tried, most of which would honestly smell ridiculous on someone my age.

A good choice for a young woman who is interested in alternative fashion and the darker things in life, but who still wants to smell 'good' without being overwhelming. If you like younger Gothic men, this seems to attract them rather reliably... I even met one who wore it himself.

Certainly not for everyone, but from my experience, those who like it truly adore it. The bottle is beautiful too, in my opinion.

Juryiah

It's definitely a very unique scent and hard to describe. It's sweet and floral but spicy and warm simultaneously. Verry very warm. I find that it is strong and long lasting. It's similar to YSL Black Opium but not the same.

It was given to me, and I like it but I wouldn't buy it. It's just not not for me. I know a girl who was crazily in love with this perfume though.

Selena

The last time I had this perfume, I was in a relationship. My ex loved the smell of this.
I finished it wayyy back last year.

And never cared for it, didn't think of repurchasing either.

Months later, I miss the smell of this warm cocoa, sweet spicy goodness..

I had my hands on all over it yesterday :)
It didn't bring back a slight memory, they say 'time heals every thing'

Perfect scent for warm breezy nights,
4-5 sprays will be enough.

Lasts long too, I'll always choose EDT over EDP.

Dem0nic.Peach

Really gorgeous spicy scent! Lasts long and smells very feminine and dark. Bottle is very pretty and very Gothic! Not a lot of shops near me sell it anymore otherwise I’d buy more!

aldinatic

Dark and sexy.

ninaxoxo

I have a 1.7oz bottle of this, 98% full, if anyone is interested in swapping. I would consider any other flanker of this. Especially the Debbie Harry version. Or others in my “want” list. My bottle is from 2014.

Rose du soir

At the start, the cranberry is very prominent and delicious. Sadly, it doesn't last and goes quickly to the background, but the chocolate note is just as yummy. Vanilla quickly joins. It's a syrupy vanilla. The scent is familiar. It's the scent of Black Opium ! But Black Opium was made well after Black XS. So this is where Yves Saint Laurent took its inspiration (and even part of the name) ! Take Black XS, replace cranberry with jasmine, add an extra dose of sugar for a heavier sillage, and here comes Black Opium.
Overall, Black XS is a lighter and fruity alternative to Black Opium. It's slightly less sweet and light enough to be office appropriate if dosed well. The lighter sweetness and sillage are details that make a subtle but important difference to me, as I'm a migraine sufferer, and anything extremely sweet and heavy might trigger a migraine on a bad day. Black XS doesn't do that to me, and it's such a rare quality with gourmands these days. This fragrance isn't true to its name any longer, in the time of excessive sweetness everywhere. Patchouli, although quite noticeable, is lighter than average too, and never obnoxious.
A very nice comfy gourmand for Winter and for people who like gourmands but who want to keep it lighter than La Vie Est Belle, Black Opium and their friends. And certainly underrated as some others in the same brand are, sadly. Even if you're not a fan of Paco Rabanne, give this one a try, you might be surprised.

STARISH

I miss this one. This used to be my signature. Now, it's the EDP version since EDT seems to be discontinued.

I love EDP version so much too, but my point is that EDT shouldn't have been discontinued. What's the point on have created such a beautiful fragrance if it was going to be changed a few years later? Why not offering both, old and new? I would happily have both in my collection.
This breaks my heart.

Love Black XS EDT and always will.

samantham-123

Its amazing how one note can make such a difference in the drydown, here its sandalwood vs patchouli.
I much prefer the smoth milky effect of the sandalwood in the edp but the patch in this really does give it its holding power and projection.
It oddly does remind me a little of Rebl fleur! not what i was expecting at all, but i think its the patch/ berry combo that does it
I much prefer this though, the cocoa, spiciness and vanilla are really beautiful and I got a tester so the lasting power is really quite good.
I like the edp a lot more but this just performs better with a few differences

Update: I've really been wearing this a lot lately, and I find it has different characteristics depending on the weather. I personally love it in the geat, all the spicy notes intensify and it gets a lovely velvety chocolate note to it. In cool weather it's a lot softer and sweeter, but it always lasts a long time.
I find it's one of those scents that; to sniff where I've sprayed it on my wrist it, it seems to npt last but then all day I get whafts of it all around me on my clothes and in my hair so it does last. I've been looking for the L' excess flanker and can only find it in one store after I got a sample and quite liked it, but I actually think I prefer this tbh, it doesn't have the overly sweet grape-y note .

babyrose1985

I'm not keen on this one, it's ok but it isnt sweet enough on my skin and it smells a bit nondescript and uninteresting which I wasn't expecting, I tried black excess l'excess afterwards and I much much prefer that one, it is sweeter and I can actually make out the notes, that one is a little darker than this..and it can be a bit of a depressing scent at times actually, i dont know why but its just got a very deep gothic dark vibe to it so I have to wear it only on certain occasions but the scent itself is so much better on me than this one is,it has more character and I love the sweetness, this one doesn't smell of alot on me weirdly so I can't even explain what notes I'm smelling x

NessS

Looking for a chocolate rose scent and blind bought this based on the reviews and forum threads. Can’t wait to get it and test this baby out!

Catsylvania

A blind buy. Being a goth, I simply couldn't walk past Black XS without being mesmerized by the divine packaging and without buying it.

I was already prepared to be disappointed and simply keep it as a nice decoration for my perfume collection but Black XS instantly proved me wrong. Initially quite sharp and weird, the first impression was quickly softened up by a velvety combination of cranberry and vanilla. Patchouli and pink pepper, on the other hand, did everything to prevent the overall composition from descending into monotone sweetness, and I find that the overall harmony between spicy and sweet has been well-maintained. Rose adds a nice soft touch but vanilla rounded up the soapiness and powderiness that is often quite typical of rose scents.

What really disappointed me was the longevity. While the initial silage was pretty powerful, the scent barely lasted over 4 hours on my skin and was gone without trace. I did try to wear it during warmer summer days but that was definitely a huge mistake as the scent quickly became overwhelming in just a few minutes of initial spraying, and it still had no effect on longevity. Hence, I find Black XS most flattering during winter times as I find it pretty warm. I wear it day and night - no preference here.

Overall, I think this is a well-rounded fragrance worth giving a shot. It's pretty original and definitely stands out. Not sure whether I'd repurchase it though as I hardly doubt I'd be able to finish my current bottle. Though wonderful, Black XS can get tiring if worn for too many days in a row, and long terms breaks are needed.

hazygem

I feel like if I had discovered this at the time of its release, I probably would have liked it a lot more than I do trying it now for the first time. I can’t distinguish any individual notes. Very much along the line of Flowerbomb or LVEB, but to my nose, Black xs is not as well blended as either of those. It’s linear, and from start to finish is a sweet, vanilla patchouli fruity floral miasma that at this point I’ve smelled so many times it just kinda smells like what you think of when you imagine trendy sweet perfumes. It’s a very pleasant scent, but I already have so many that are similar, I can’t justify a full bottle.

Speaking of, this bottle is awful, lol. The teenage goth inside me is drawn to it though, I must admit!

Edited: there is something weird in the dry down. I have no idea what the note is supposed to be but I get something yeasty. Like bread dough. It’s incongruent and a little skanky. :( I thought Black xs was pleasant if not hugely remarkable, but this doughy note is strong and vile.

AnnieT303

I have a 1.7 oz bottle for swap if interested.

This just isn't my cup o' tea. A little too sweet & chocolatey...

Daliadivine

Just bought this because i wanted something New. Dark and sexy. I have few similar scents not sure is this so special they say but for now Im liking it. I can smell it differently trough the day. Same Style than diesel tattoo.

Nikolett

It's a sexy warm-spicy fragrance. I mostly get the cranberry note, to my nose it's not sweet, reather spicy. It's very seductive, good for night outs. I think it's one of my most worn perfumes. I have many great memories with this one.

cedar_lea

I don't like this as much as I expected. My complaints are all stylistic and personal preference stuff.

This is a very blended scent. I have trouble picking out individual notes. Chocolate and patchouli are the most distinct for me. The berry is more nondescript fruity and I get some interestingly fresh floral notes but nothing specific. It doesn't seem to grow or change much although there are tims it is sweeter and times it is fresher. It just feels a little bland to me.

I do love the L'exes flanker though.

N8vDoll

Sadly, I don't like Black XS as much as I had anticipated. Judging by the notes and countless good reviews, I was certain this would make an exquisite addition to my collection. I expected something dark, spicy, and sweet. Instead, I got a dark, spicy, and old lady. I tried, I kept sniffing my wrist, desperately trying to pick up the sexy mingling of notes I had envisioned, but to no avail. Perhaps we will meet again, Black XS, when I am 60 years old and still a diva lol.

Georgia.24

Black XS by Paco Rabanne is an iconic fragrance personally, my mum wore this fragrance on and off for years and I always loved it the most, out of her collection. When I was around 14/15 I finally received my own bottle of Black XS and was so excited to own my own designer fragrance. I wore it all the time irregardless of season or situation. I continued to fall more in love with this fragrance, the note of cacao and how sensual and enticing it smelt was addicting to me. Black XS is an intoxicating, deep, feminine fragrance, perfect for nights out, winter evenings or clubbing. It is truly gorgeous and well worth every dollar. Longevity is a good 6 or so hours, with equally impressive sillage. Black XS sticks to clothing, I recall spraying this regularly on a scarf during the winter time and months later it still had retained the scent. A modern classic fragrance, one I will always repurchase and own.

fr3ckles

One of those fragrances that reacts incredibly differently on different skin. On me it's delicious, rich chocolate and sexy vanilla, warm with a little bit of sweet spice. It's a scent to wear on a fall/winter night out, when you're dressed up but wrapped up too. It's super sexy, bold and dark, with enough sweetness for me to wear it, rather than for it to wear me. I bought this when I was 15 and would still wear it for a night out at the bar (I feel like my more mature version of this is Black Opium).

moonrise

Very sensual and smokey. Perfect for a (sexy)night out. Never for daytime wear. Good news for smokers out there, this scent blends well with cigarette.

Gabrielle217

Doesnt agree with my skin! After reading reviews of it smelling like chocolate and berries I decided to go test it. Tester spray it smelt like redskin lollies. Lots of berries. Had to buy it, got home and sprayed it on myself and it smells like a dirty old musk stick? So disappointing. The notes must just not agree with my skin. It's not sweet at all just dry musk smell.

fluffydeathkitty

This is an absolute cocoa bomb on me. It's not all chocolate but there is so much of it that I can barely distinguish other notes. This isn't a bad thing and it's generally a very nice sweet perfume. I wasn't convinced at first as it seemed a bit generic, and when I first sprayed it on it smelled a lot like men's perfume covered up with sweet candy notes, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. It develops quite beautifully on skin. It's not the complexity you would expect from an "edgy" rock / gothic perfume but it's still a nice, sweet, dark, easy to wear mixture.

JacquieDS

Beautiful scent, like what’s described in the notes, fruity, dark vanillish, woody, I like it very much but it’s short-lived, all home in 30 minutes.

the purple rose

Black XS smells great, the note combinations are awesome.I love this scent, it is so sexy smelling.Unfortunately it does not last very long. What a shame.
Rating 8/10.

Alisaaa131

I really liked this fragrance when I first purchased it, I could smell red berries the most, then some cocoa. It didn't last and went straight to a clean musk with a tiny bit of patchouli within 1 hour. This was surprisingly my boyfriend's favorite out of all my fragrances, I'm not sure which note he really enjoyed. I was hoping the cocoa note would be stronger on me but sadly it was mostly red berries.
I do like this but just because it doesn't last I find myself using it less and less, I wouldn't really repurchase.

Update June 4th 2018: This is my boyfriend's favorite out of ALL the fragrances I own! It's a really nice fragrance but it turns to musk too fast for me to enjoy, I'll just search for a new dark chocolatey scent.

Mbrock

I will not be rebuying this. Its smells very good. Unique. I actually love the scent & it would make it on my rebuy list except that it has terrible longevity( 2hours) and 0 sillage. No one can even smell it. My husband had to put his nose to my neck & let me say im not a shy sprayer. Tragic, And such a shame to charge so much for a badly made EDT. I could wear this every day if it were made better.

chlorodream

I used to love this when I was in my late teens, enough said. It's so MySpace. The chocolate/cranberry/pink pepper combination is overpowering and sweet and sticky, unsubtle as all hell.

It'll always have some sentimental value to me, but that initial blast is enough to make my stomach turn on a bad day, so these days I give it a pass.

clare.87

Sweet with a dark berry musk scent.
This and Dior addict are my all time favorite scents.

dglightblue

Very weak on me. I'd have to spray 5-6 times to get a coverage.
I did think when I first sprayed that this could be a light version of black opium.

I nice scent by all accounts but I was looking forward to the notes and I only get sweet, and floral, a bit of coffee I suppose.

someoneseriouslyhasthatun

I was hoping this would be less sweet. Most of these reviews sight cocoa, patchouli, and cranberries. I don't get much cocoa and hoping it would be sharp and powdery or at least like a dark chocolate. Instead of chocolate and patchouli being dominant to me I get the cranberries (not at the forefront but noticeable and delicious), Violeta, and pink pepper which makes this concoction fruity. It smells like a spiked punch. It's not bad by any means and not the sweetest perfume I've encountered but sweeter than I'd hoped. If you like hypnose, la petite robe noir, or MMM you'll probably enjoy this. I do like those scents, but I'm more neutral than passionate. In the end it's very yummy and the cranberry is mouthwatering. Hopefully I draw more dry notes from it soon. Will update if my feelings change.

Mona Lygre

I absolutely love this great perfume, it smells fantastic on my skin.

AnitaHendricks

Cranberry and cacao are the strongest notes to my nose. This scent would fit a warm, kind teenager very well despite the tough looking bottle!

SailorV

Black XS is my favorite of the Paco Rabanne pillar fragrances so far. It's less sweet and in your face than Lady Million and Olympea and just more to my taste.

It opens with tart and juicy cranberries on a base of patchouli and cocoa. I always enjoy this kind of note combination, makes me think of dark chocolate. Contrary to many other scents, the tart fruity note in this stays for many hours. I can also sense a hint of woods in the background.
The drydown is quite typical: The scent becomes softer, warmer, sweeter and closer to the body. The cranberries vanish and the vanilla note starts to shine next to the patchouli.

Nowadays there are a lot of perfumes that are similar to this, in the end I would categorize it as a dark, not too sweet fruitchouli. I like it very much, I would use it with pleasure if I got it as a gift or for a really good price, but it's not a perfume I feel I need to have.
I would recommend Black XS for those who like this category of scents but don't own a lot of them yet, and for anyone looking specifically for the cranberry/cocoa combo.

ayh210

Smells like chanel's coco mademoiselle, which I already have, so pass on this one. Was hoping for a more chocolate-y vibe. Recently got more into gourmands and am binging on gourmands...guess that makes me a glutton

JacquieDS

Very pretty but the sillage is very low

sail0rmars

Black xs for her is a rock-chic that is here to stay. She's modern, simple, and of course a big city girl. Well, she's not the girl that wears pink and is always smiling, she's the other type of girl that loves rock music and the colour black. Dynamic, confindent and so damn sexy.

neoncake

Smelled this perfume in the store . It made me feel really sexy. It's a very sweet but dark sent . Would wear this at night only . Definitely getting one of my family members to buy this for me as a Christmas gift ;) .

rihabi

i don't think it's any kind of heavy fragrance, it's more like a warm and comforting juice...it's adorable, how can you not love the vanilla-cacao combo...there's a hint of some cranberries and pink pepper, which makes it a little spicy thing, but it's good I don't sense them so much. one issue i have is not the longevity, but the sillage...it's too close to the skin and some people say it's hard to sniff from few steps...it's durable on clothes, but on skin - not so much and i'm kind of sad...it's a day-night type of fragrance for me.

Dua86

wow!
This is such a sexy perfume. I love parfums that make a statement. Having a bold fragrance on gives me comfidence.Work collegues were all askimg me what i was wearing as i walked past and left a trail. I think this works well as a day time fragrance too. Longevity for me on skin was 5 hours and on clothes longer. I just couldnt stop sniffing my wrist. Its vert sweet on me at first but then dry down is so sensous i cant explain it but it just makes me feel so cosy and sexy. Rock this wiih confidence!

soned

From a man perspective ladies......this is the sexiest perfume you can wear. Not "serious sexy" (like Lolita Lempika), but "playful sexy" (like Flower Bomb). Try it during a night out and please..........let me know on the results!!!. ;-)

sukiyakiya

Smell grape and rose, though people mostly said this fit for night, I don't usually go out at night so I used this daily at morning before I go office, and its...amazing?! First spray probably a bit musk and heavy, but again its getting softer, i love it :)

Russian girl

This is so fun, playful and sexy! Black XS is very uplifting, I feel confident and happy wearing it. I smell mostly cranberry, patchouli, vanilla and woody notes. Sillage and longevity are good for an EDT.

missjosephinee

I remember when I had this perfume it was my favourite but Olympia is now my favourite I will be buying this one again though.

sarah_0508

I love this perfume. This was my signature for years when I was at university. It has a kind of bad girl vibe and I received so many compliments when wearing it. A definite confidence booster.

It had impressive lasting power and sillage on me. I would say that this would probably appeal to someone younger as it is quite sweet.

neoncake

I need this perfume . I had a sniff of this in the store and it smells really sexy. Its the perfume i've been looking for for a while . Its sweet but still mysterious at the same time and a little masculine . :) this would be great when your going out.

ssaminn

This is by far the prettiest gourmand fragrance that I had the pleasure of smelling! It's a strange way of describing it, but it is really pretty! Like the most beautiful desert ever, it's a black forest cake!

It starts with peppery notes along with a sour kind of berry, and patchouli; and gradually develops into a much nicer, warmer, and happier scent. The middle notes that I get to on my skin after an hour are dark chocolate, vanilla, and cherry, wafts of roses, with a hint of the nicest patchouli I have ever smelled! It's like even patchouli cannot be harsh to this beautiful creature! Have you ever had some of those Lindt Excellence Cherry Intense? It's a Dark chocolate bar with cherry filling inside, and the middle and base notes of black xs for her smell exactly like the taste of those chocolates. It's not overly bitter, and it's not overly sweet, it's not too jammy, and it's not too powdery; it's just the perfect amount of deliciousness.

When it gets to the base notes I encounter with a sourness again but this time it's more of a tamarind kind of sourness along with cocoa, vanilla, and a few berries. I don't now what Massoia wood smells like so I cannot comment on that, but the middle and the base notes sure do have a vaguely woody quality to them.

To me, this is a fairly feminine frag rance for a young but relatively sophisticated girl. I think it's a perfect fall scent but wearable in all seasons as long as it's not too cold or too hot. It's very cozy and comfortable.

The only complaint I have is the sillage which is moderate to soft on my skin. I want to be able to smell this all the time, and It would be awesome if it were stronger. The longevity on fabric can be up to 12 hours, but on my skin, it lasts about 4-5 hours.

Goneja

I seem to be on a nostalgia kick lately. I loved this fragrance when I was 15 and discovered if at an in-resort shop on vacation in Mexico. It will always be special to me because of that memory, and the goth-y bottle was really cool to me at the time. I still think the cacao-vanilla combo is delicious, but the berries make it weird on my skin now. I guess it was more suitable for me back when I actually could fit into an xs! I think it would make a great and memorable gift for a teen, rather than another generic fruity-floral or candy sweet celeb scent.

UnearthlyApothecary

Sweet, peppery, berry/fruity, chocolate, patchouli. Everything I love in one scent. I really feel like the notes/composition is unique in this scent although many people think all fruit-choulis smell the same, I assure you this one does not. Or if you want just one in your wardrobe (I can never get enough of this type of scent myself) this should be the one. In Black XS sweet sticky cranberry tamarind notes with a pepper pop lead into dark sultry chocolate and musty patchouli. It's just fabulous.

Eva Wu

Oh God.... This perfume was my very first love +_+

It's going to be hard for me to be level headed about this one, since all of junior high I walked around drenched in this stuff, went on a date with my first boyfriend, showed it off at sleepovers, etc.

This was technically my very first personal perfume (my signature from years 13-16 if you will), and I think it's a perfectly good perfume for a teenage girl to spray on by the gallon.

Sweet, sugary even, but warm and inviting, with a touch of fruity berries up top. Also I loved the bottle! Made me feel like such a goth hahaha

I've grown out of it of course, but it still holds a special place in my heart :) If you like Gourmands and you're looking for a more essential take on the genre, try it out!

fraggirl

This was the first frag I ever purchased a bottle of. I remember my mother trying to persuade me to get into perfumes as we walked the aisles of the fragrance department at the duty free. I kept smelling floral after heady floral and I was beginning to feel slightly nauseated... then I got a whiff of Black XS for her! The chocolate hits you first -- but it's a refined and ever so slightly bitter dark chocolatier cocoa, not cheap milk chocolate. Then you get some sweetness from the red berry, but also some tartness and crispness. The vanilla's there but it's very subtle and actually almost woody or nutty. There's also a spiciness to this fragrance -- in reading the notes I guess that's the pink pepper. Delicious, soothing, yet not overly sweet. Thankfully, I don't pick up any prominent floral notes. It's leaning towards being a gourmand but veers away from that sickly sweetness and somehow retains a certain sophistication. Reminds me a little of Loverdose Tattoo but this is more refined and I would say much easier to wear as an everyday scent. Since discovering this fragrance I have curiously taken a sniff of the other Paco Rabanne scents... but nothing else they have out currently is interesting or original beyond Black XS. A crowd-pleaser!

Bold, and I guess long-lasting. But this smells just like thierry mugler's angel which I was never a huge fan of. The cacao to me smells like coffee in this perfume - so coffee smell with fruit/patch=ew! BUT if you like Angel, you'll love this.

I guess a 'mature' scent. Disappointed…

scentimentalbeing

I thought the bottle was a bit kitschy when I first saw it online, but when I received it in person the liquid emanates an almost iridescent glow because of the bottle!

The bottle suits the fragrance: voluptuous, decadent, and glamorous. I'm not sure why, but this fragrance reminds me of a fortune teller's den or a fabulously mysterious dame clothed in black, smiling behind a crimson fan.

This is beautiful and distinctive with heavy chocolate notes topped with cherries/cranberries. I love how the red fruits don't smell synthetic and fake (I can't stand many fruity fragrances because they smell watery and overly juicy and fake) and perfectly complement the dark chocolate and vanilla.

The fragrance remains pretty much the same from start to finish (the drydown is similar to the initial spray); sillage and longevity are wonderful. Not too mature for younger audiences, and not too girly for older ones.

Verdict: Cozy yet alluring. Perfect for anyone who wants to channel their inner decadent diva!

BONUS: Please try a spray or two of this with your bath. Trust. :)

Edit: The drydown after a day smells of wood and chocolate!

Maybe it's just my chemistry, but after only a few minutes this smells like sharp, strong patchouli. It smells like a sleazy men's cologne, like the gross guy at the bar with his shirt unbottoned just a little too much and his hair slicked back. Nothing feminine in how this develops on me at all. This is exactly why I tend to avoid fragrances with patchouli notes - they have a tendency of turning rancid and sleazy-masculine on me. Too bad, since the reviews make it sound like just the dark, sweet, warm yummy I was craving.

knotslandinggirl

This scent is for a daring woman, someone who doesn't want to blend in with the crowd, and stands alone.

It is edgy, and has depth,a very multi faceted fragrance, and is suited to someone who holds their own and tells it like it is.

I think the berries, with the patchouli makes it sweet, but sharp, and I love that,it is a contradiction in terms, it isn't like other sweet fragrances, because the patchouli is so apparent, yet the cocoa and berries softens the rough edges.

Longevity on my skin a good 5 hours, and projection is moderate to heavy, people around you will know you are wearing this, it has a life of its own!!

I think this is the best of Paco Rabanne, yet it is overlooked, it reminds me a little of LPRN from Guerlain, however it is more potent, and where as LPRN is playful, this is daring....

Black XS is for someone who doesnt fear to tread where others would not dare to go.....

nweh

This does surprisingly well in the warm humid tropical Singapore I'm from. Can't wait to try it out in colder weather. It doesn't smell anything like the other fruity floral aquatic fragrances that are very popular in Asia, and I do enjoy not smelling like anyone else.

Sharp peppery opening that dries down to a warm sexy chocolate. Very long lasting for an EDT (lasted longer than poison on me but this is reformulated poison so....)

Madrona

Are you a big deal on Myspace? Did Jeffree Star sign your boob that one time on Warped Tour? Does your life consist of nothing but My Chemical Romance, your parttime Hot Topic gig and upkeep of your coontails? Then you are probably a scene queen circa 2007, and this is the perfect fragrance for you. Just look at the bottle. LOOK AT IT! Doesn't it make your neon diamond outline necklace jump for joy?

I like it tho. Might develop into a love.

sanahrose

I got this perfume as a wedding gift by my big brother. The ideal gift for a newly married girl, it really takes me back to the early days of my marriage. It smelled just so hot. We got married in winter, so perfect it was. And although I used it liberally back then, and instilled every memory with it, I found how costly it was just recently.

It is MYSTERIOUS, deep and complicated. Now when I see the notes, I recognize there are cranberries over desserts. The fragrance is loud and so just so sensual.

A trivia attached to it: I conceived my daughter while in this perfume. And I save it for special days and moments. Wearing it sparingly.
Once when my sister was visiting me, when she was leaving the next day, she spritzed a bit of this beauty on her. And my baby girl would not come away from her. Smelling the perfume on her, she thought it was her Mama, LOL. That's when I realized how powerfuland important a signature fragrance is!
I can never afford a bottle of this. SO I am on the look out for similar fragrances. Any suggestions? I have found Dark Night by Estiara is a smell alike yet cheap. The notes match too almost. But I am a little sceptic of it being a new perfume brand.

ladenu

Even though i have a flu, i noticed a very plesant scent when i entered the office today. I asked my collegue what she is wearing and she said black xs. It returned me to my university years. I cant believe this still smell amazing with an enormous sillage.

Miss X

What I like most about this scent is the woody rose + clove in the style of Coco Chanel... despite its low intensity it reminds me a lot! That's why I find this perfume (and its flankers) only suitable for strong, independent and intellectual women with a great personality, without rejecting her tender femininity and youth charm.
The initial cloying raspberry smell evaporates in 1 minute, and it leaves a floral, woody, and creamy sweet scent (not so sweet!), but definitely, it doesn't smell only like cocoa and vanilla.

JacquieDS

Absolutely gorgeous and sexy, I love this perfume, its a joyful, festive scent, great for glam, parties and short black dress

Luxifer

First of all - trying this one out on a cardboard sheet doesn't do it any justice at all! I definitely recommend spraying it on your wrist for a more true presentation of the scent.

I can see some similarities to YSL Black Opium in this one, but apart from that, i find this fragrance to be more light and fresh than Black Opium. Don't get me wrong, this is definitely a deep, dark fragrance - but on the lighter side of the dark spectrum. This is Black Opium - if Black Opium was more of a red, bubblegum lollipop.

The first thing I sense in this one are the berries, candied red berries. When the sweetness has worn off, it turns more "noir" with the deep vanilla, cacao and black violet. A very pleasant contrast to the initial juicy sweetness.

I definitely like Black XS, and it is truly a pleasant fragrance - but to me, it is more of a casual than an elegant perfume. It is in my opinion an everyday (fall/winter) scent for those who like darker and deeper fragrances, since it isn't too overwhelming or demands too much attention. Even though I am drawn to it - I fear that it is too ordinary and too bland for me. It is too similar to other popular fall and winter fragrances for my liking, and it unfortunately tends to fit too easily into the category of "just another noir fragrance".

I'm looking forward to trying the other fragrances in the Black XS-family, and I will contemplate wether this one is for me or not.

wildangel72

12/11/16: This is the Wicked Queen on her day off. A scent for those times when you're just not up to destroying lives; instead you wiggle into your best black yoga pants, and sit with your feet up stroking an overly-indulged pet on your lap, serenely contemplating all the new and exciting ways that you can ruin lives again tomorrow.

I see chocolate-covered cherries in the reviews, but this is not a candy- type scent for me. A hint of cacao shows up on the drydown, but on my skin there is no overt sweetness--nothing to prevent it being taken seriously by terrified subjects. I really wanted a stronger dark chocolate note, but even without it, this juice grew on me and became one of my go-to casual scents. It's a little powdery, semi-dark, and with only the slightest pinch of red fruit somewhere at the back. When I inhale it, I just think of burgundy crushed panne velvet--the stretchy, lightweight, weekend-loving sister of heavy, traditional velvet. Still rich, still gorgeous, but a bit more relaxed.

Black XS is casually deep for those queenly days off, but still credible enough to order an impromptu beheading or two. For me it says, politely but firmly, "I like to unwind as much as the next girl, but don't forget who you're dealing with."

PinkRainbow

There is a very intense cranberry note here that make this scent fruity and fresh, and somehow perfect for a Christmas night. Unique. Good sillage. Love it.

ellebunny

Paco Rabanne Black XS for Her is a perfect example of a gorgeously balanced fruity floral fragrance. Maybe it doesn't smell entirely 'unique', but it's definitely distinctive and got it's own character. This was everything I wanted Diesel Loverdose Red Kiss to be, but wasn't.
In the initial spray, Black XS for Her opens up with a dominant note tart, bright cranberries. The top notes is accompanied by ripe pink peppercorn and tamarind notes that quickly steps into the background and firstly reveals a slightly bitter cacao note. In the heart, the black rose adds a girlish freshness to the cacao, cutting the bitterness and turns it more bittersweet. Vanilla cream then starts to envelop the fragrance, giving it a more cuddly feel. Eventually, Black XS for Her settles into a warm, velvety base of cacao and vanillic musk on a amber and woody base with just a kiss of roses and cranberries.
Overall, this is my favourite fruity floral fragrance in my current collection. It ticks all the right boxes for me, and it never becomes too sweet or syrupy. It doesn't smell generic, which I really appreciate. I'm not a fan of the marketing around this and it deserves a better bottle but it was indicative of the time it was released, in 2007.

Lilance

Sexy and loud! You will get compliments on this, but its not an everyday kind of scent.

Strong sweet spicy kind of scent. Not too deep but still screams sex.
great longevity and projection. You wouldnt need too much of this to be noticed. Its a winter/fall scent for sure.

lucia.cirstea

I sense the Cacao very much and the pink pepper. It's very feminine if you ask me, not in a girly way, but in a womenly way. This perfume tells me " wanna play a game? " because it changes very misteriously on my skin, depending on what i took a shower with or , or the cream that i've used, but still doesn't looses its essence.

PrissyCurls

This little gem is sexy in a bottle!!!! Chocolate covered cranberries is so....delicious to me. I haven't given it a proper wear to report on longevity/sillage but the scent itself is quite beautiful. Someone mentioned it has a unisex vibe and there is some truth to that statement but the sweetness/flirtiness keeps it more on the feminine side of the spectrum. I absolutely adore this fragrance and wish I could find the body lotion to go with it. Anyway, this will be in heavy rotation for me come winter here in the US ;-)

kikiena01

One of the most perfectly put together sexy female fragrances. Very deep, rich, sweet and intoxicating. Heavy on the cacao note, sweet thanks to the cranberry (which I adore). The drydown almost smells like an unisex perfume.

I only wear this in late fall and winter months. Also I love the bottle. It would be perfect ... if only the cap was made of metal, not plastic! But I love it anyway.

GREETINGS FROM THE CZECH REPUBLIC! :)

Classypress

My mom gave this perfume to me on my birthday. Very warm and spicy. Love it! Used every single drop.

Missy0104

Black Forest sex bomb beautiful bottle and beautiful perfume dark mysterious she devil . Smells like rich liquored cherries dipped in melted dark chocolate swimming in spiced rich vanilla cream. Very gourmand fragrance and I don't get the masculine dry down vibe some have commented on. A lovely chocolate cherry creamy Drydown absolutely gorgeous from start to finish longativity is great aswell can't go wrong if you buy this as a blind buy it delivers on the scent notes described. Great little black dress and stiletto heels perfum or just a come over here my beau and get me lol :)-

imochy

This is my second review of this fragrance (sorry, I can't help it)

I once said that this fragrance is playful and sexy. Well, that part I will not change. But I recently wore this on a formal evening event. Something that I never did before.

I received lots and lots of compliments, about how good I smell. Surprisingly, Black XS can also work for formal event. Still sophisticated. Still not your regular evening fragrance. And still draws so much attention (and even in a very good way)

This fragrance is always be my first head-turner option. The one I'd pick to get attention.

Spicy cocoa and vanilla that lasts and blooms?
Could never go wrong.
Pair it with your evening dress!

Ariana.b

This is a very beautiful, spicy-sweet perfume, uplifting and so sexy. I love how it changes from hour to hour, but keeping the sour top notes. The pink pepper and the cranberries fit so perfectly on the warm and cozy cocoa-vanille base. I think it's a youthfull perfume, interesting and quite different from other sweet-gourmandy fragrances. Also, it's a very good option for summer and especially for summer nights. It's not overpowering, but it will last preety much. I really love it.

funnygaming911

Ce parfum est tres sombre de style rock et goth, epicer et fruiter pas pour tout le monde surtout si vous avez le fin , ne dure pas longtemps 3 heure .Mais je l adore sur moi il ne sens pas l ado de 12 ans ...

sf2explus

what i get from this scent is a nice fresh dark rose and a light patchouli. there is some fruity notes at the top but as the scent dries down it becomes more dark.
It has that sophisticated evening type of smell to it. I see this good for year round scent day/night except summer hot days it might become a little cloying. I recently got this for my wife for a gift and she loves it.

preslavapopova

Deep, sexy and warm scent. I usually don't like chocolate or cacao notes when it comes to fragrances, but in this one I really like the cacao feel. I get cacao, patchouli and spicy vanilla with a bit of cranberry. Totally a winter fragrance for me, it suits cold weather perfectly and I can't imagine wearing it in any other season. Moderate sillage and longevity on me. In the drydown reminds me of The One by D&G. I like it but I don't think I like it enough to add it into my perfume collection. I expected more noticeable cranberry note, since I'm huge sucker for berries when it comes to perfumes and I miss it here.

Soofiya

On me it's all about a spiced creamy vanilla chocolate with a tart fruity undertone(berries) and a hint of florals with a woodsy dry down.it's sweet but with a dark cocoa, coffee and a tart cranberry, tamarind undertone.not a generic sweet candy at all..
I find it bold and gentle the same time,it has defenitely some masculinity specially in the dry down when patch and other woods become more dominant but it still manages to please a girly girl like me,there is still enough cranberry-chocolate-cream to keep it sexy and feminine,it's dark, delicious, young but not girly in a pink romantic way
I like it's tart fruity, spicy sweet opening but I like it's drydown even more,it dries down to a creamy, woody, chocolate scent
I can imagine a girl with short dark hair and casual, sport clothes, easy going, full of energy, pretty and sexy in her own special way..black xs suits her perfectly
Really nice for nights out, clubbing and college parties,it also has good longevity and sillage,..best suited for fall and winter

Renata tang

I got it from beauty boutique at a really low price. I always can't distinguish smell at perfume counters, so basically another blind buy. Because it is made in France so I got it.

vidal.agustina

Strong fragance. Not for everyone. You can smell it from a long distance. I hate patchouli fragances... and this one smells masculine to me. Wouldn't ever buy it.

Swamp Lily

Very berry rich sweet and vanillery. Imagine a syrupy black forest mudcake, sounds delish but is much too much for me.

Chelsea1605

I used one spray on the back of my hand about 4 hours ago and it's still going strong.

It opens up quite sweet with the cranberries and dries down to a gorgeous musky vanilla chocolate. It doesn't smell massively floral to me but that's great. It's just a like at the moment, I think i'll need to test this a few more times but it feels fab for this colder weather.

olga_adriana

this reminds me a lot of Alien. Synthetic, in your face, yet oddly intoxicating.
maybe good for a night out clubbing or something but definitely not a refined perfume

Duskfall

This is quite an oddball! On me the performance varies greatly from one try to another. Sometimes it's a weak mess that I can't pick any notes from. I'm testing it again now and it seems to have more power and definition. As we all know, almost every fragrance has some variation in performance depending on different factors but this is in a league of its own in that aspect.

I get cacao-dusted cranberries in the opening. The drydown is almost masculine; semi-fresh spices and woods with a gourmand undertone. The drydown is a bit sweaty (in a good way, though)! It's like a whiff of cologne blending with some pleasant body odour on a sexy dude... Yep, a DUDE; this is not a feminine perfume in the traditional sense! It actually reminds me of a fling in the past. Lovely memories... ;D

Moderate longevity and sillage (it's not a powerhouse by any means).

I got the bottle a couple of months ago and I'm still not sure about this one, the testing continues...

EDIT: No... Just no. My short and casual relationship with Black XS came to an end like that passionate fling many years ago; we just weren't meant to be. No hard feelings. After several trials I knew I'd hardly ever reach for it so I gave it to my friend. It smells so much better on her! :)

_Lashes_

I like this, I definitely get the cocoa which is what I was hoping for as this was a blind buy. The dry down is a bit masculine and shall we say "dirty" but I find it pleasant nonetheless! Wish it lasted a bit longer on my skin though.

nightcutter

Unpleasant fruit and patchouli smell. Horrible in my opinion.

jessbot101

A musky masculine scent that I (mostly) like. However, there is some sort of lingering bad floral, almost powdery head-ache inducing scent in the dry-down that to my mind screams "cheap perfume". It's not super-prominent, but I can definitely smell it. I wear this scent occasionally during the day, when I'm in the mood for it, but it's not an everyday perfume. Maybe because of the masculine aspect, I find it gives me a confidence boost.

Calinare

Ugh. Okay. So I purchased this the other day with the lotion. And because on paper, it smelled really good. Like a berry vanilla shampoo. But as saying goes, it goes differently on skin. I tried applying a single spray on both wrists. I get very sweet red currants and cranberries and sugar. Soon enough, it'll settle down into a dirty, disgusting, wet mop-like smell with some chocolate vanilla seeping through. IT'S ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTFUL. The mop-like smell turns dark woody afterwards and plays along with the richness of vanilla. I tried spraying twice, thrice-- meh. Bad idea. Became so annoyingly sweet and cloying bordering headache territory. Like the scent of ballpen/marker ink. I think what lacks is the resinous feel. I prefer this with incense or tobacco or styrax-- since nothing calms down the sweetness in this. It's just sweet-bland like cherry chocolate pudding with too much water. Silage is definitely heavy, longevity is good. I also tried layering this with YSL Opium and oh gosh it's heavenly.

EDIT: It smells like wet earth and cherry bubblegum lol. It's quite linear and the cranberry note doesn't fade easily. I guess, it needs more spices.

GeorgiaMoxie

I'm not nuts about the cranberry opening either, and it's actually hard to rate the notes because after a while the cranberry kind of disappears and it morphs into a cocoa dusted vanilla woody fragrance which I love.

This one actually reminds me a lot of Black Currant Vanilla from BBW when it opens with the berry patchouli and when it turns vanilla dominant. Black Currant Vanilla and Black XS both came out in 2007 so it makes sense, that was the height of the red berry vanilla craze which I do miss now that we're pretty much stuck in Candy Land.

The comparison between the two ends there because XS turns woody, which I happen to love and why I do like Black XS. Young girls for whatever reason don't generally like woody fragrances but women do, and men do on women especially since it's quite a sexy cocoa dusted vanilla woody.

Would I call this a secret weapon or too dark to wear? Not even close although my basis of comparison is different, if I had a bunch of cotton candy fragrances on my dresser this would certainly seem dark to me. I'll stick with my Tom Fords personally if I'm wanting to go there. Otherwise, I like this one in my collection, I realized that I no longer had any red berry vanillas and Black XS is a great choice for that.

Hope114

I did not like the opening at all - i think it is the cranberry. But the dry down was amazing, musky and a little masculine which I like.

Krixe

For a very long time I was wondering what perfume should I get for winter. Then I remembered that my cousin had this one 8 years ago and I really loved it then. And I hadn`t smelled this since that time but I knew- this is it! I have found it!

anna_law_

This perfume allies the sweetness that I love together with that bit of sophistication not to be too girly.
Quite feminine for me, and receives lot's of compliments wearing it.
And I looove the base notes, creamy, a bit vanilly and a bit flowery. It's a good perfume for those who usually like fruity fresh perfumes, but wanting something more grown up and complex.
Thumbs up for this one.

kristinejane

Mmmmm..... little black dress, high heals and a spritz of black xs... perfection. This perfume is hot, sexy, seductive, unforgettable. The bottle and the name suits it perfectly. Excellent last power. Wanna be a femme fatale? Try this one ;)

UnknownBecca

IT IS EVERYTHING!❤

psychobutterly

could last longer, but still, one of my favorite perfumes ❤

shell_bell

I bought this little lovely last winter and VERY much enjoyed it.

Now that the weather is cooling down and I've tucked away all my summer perfumes I pulled this one out and though I usually save it for MUCH colder temps, when it shines, I indulged and spritzed.

The coffee and cranberry along with cocoa and creamy pink pepper scents enveloped me and made me smile.
Now that a few hours have gone by I can still smell it wafting off my skin and clothes and can't WAIT for snowy winter so that I can wear this all the time!

Even thinking of buying the men's version for my hubby. ;)

mihaela.rosca2

I CANT STAND THIS PERFUME.
SORRY FOR ALL ITS LOVERS, BUT IT GIVES ME STRONG HEADACHES.
I HAD A 15 ML BOTTLE OF IT, I FORCED MYSELF TO LIKE IT USING A COUPLE OF TIMES, BUT IT ENDED VERY BAD. NO REACTION BETWEEN US.
TOO SWEET, WAY TO SWEET FOR ME.

nickhi1984

My husband gave this to me as a gift in 2012 and I always felt too sorry to open it up and wear it. Well, I have decided, since I'm 31 and have soooo many perfumes, the time has come to open up some of these beauties that I've always felt too sorry to use.
Black XS is a sweet, fruity, patchouli on me. I get a musky vibe from it too though. I really like it, I wouldn't say I'm madly in love with it, but this is a really nice, non-offencive fragrance :)

Dafja

No cocao in this that's for sure. This a verry elegant perfume! It's funny that good perfume gets always an ugly bottle. THis deserves definitly a nice heavy cubic perfume botlle. Anyway i dont care how the bottle looks like, it's just something that i have noticed.

This is a rich powdery, rosy, crispy scent. It is a little sharp, but it's a good blend. You will get a verry rich feeling if you wear it.

The lasting power is ok. (3 hours)

It's a night perfume. But you can also wear it in the spring, summer, fall & winter.

PerfumeKing14

has this changed? i had this when it 1st came out & wore it for so so long but recently got a bottle & it doesn't smell the same to me now,may just be me..

Angeldaisy

berries. berries and more berries!
sweet.
like a manly ice cream with that red sauce squirted on top.
quite linear. plasticcy.
finding it difficult to catch any notes of spice or wood as such under the berries, but i do detect rose and what i imagine might be the pink pepper.
not for me.
if you like fruity sweetness, then this is for you!
it isn't black...but it is excessive.
i tried the Debbie Harry XS perviously and i can see they are very related...i preferred that version, but still she shared the same funky berry, which spoils them both for me.

Alpha.Leonis

This was the first fragrance I ever bought for myself. I instantly loved the slightly sweet patchouli, the spice, the vanilla, and the cacao with hints of berry and floral. At the time, it was like nothing I'd ever smelled. It felt very unisex to me, and very sexy overall. This scent seems like it would be at home on someone with a strong personality, with a sense of being, someone fun--but responsibly so. This fragrance was very rich and warmly thick.

I recently ordered a new bottle of this and I swear it is different than the one I had before. It seems... less. I don't know if it's because the fragrance was reformulated or because the bottle I got just wasn't very good, but this one doesn't quite wear as long and it seems 'thinner' somehow, which is the only way to describe it.

Overall, I still love this fragrance and I plan to buy it again once my current bottle is gone.

Alayna1011

I really like the opening on this, but I can't smell this for longer than about 45 minutes. It just disappears. I don't think it's fatigue either, as my boyfriend can't smell it on me either. Guess I must just have bad skin chemistry?

It would be perfect if it were stronger.. but I still like it. It seems like a "comfort scent" to me, the kind you can wear to bed or wear on a cold dreary day and it will make you feel better. Also, the bottle is great.

margarita.angelova

Gorgeous woody perfume. I love that masculine feel and the minty undertone. It's definitely sexy but not in the sensual way - it's much more rebellious than inviting. Great for casual evening wear.

One thing I don't like at all is the cheap looking bottle with that tasteless font.

sammyblue

This is my blind buy. Well it's smells okay for me, dark, chocolatey sweetness, suitable for a night out. Sadly, i can't wear it more often, another popular colleague of mine wears this everyday. Like it though

Anthaval

It's released in 2007, when it was cool if a teenager girl listened to Evanescence and Nirvana. The perfume glints this era: it's so shrill, loudmouthed but sweet.

It's a fragrance of an era, when I feel it I captured by the nostalgic mood. I got a little tester a few days ago when I bought my Guerlain. In the evening I sprayed to my wrist and behind my ears. It was too sweet and too violent for me despite this one hour late I didn't feel nothing, and my boyfriend didn't feel anything as well.

It's a perfect perfume for teenagers, or even if someone was a teenager between 2000 and 2010 she will love it because of the nostalgic.

daisyvision

Based on the main notes and chic bottle design, I thought I'd love the edgy Black XS - but this scent has got a bite. A very bitter, offputting and stinging bite that slashes right through several notes I love (cranberry, vanilla, cacao, patchouli) and strips virtually all of the sweetness and femininity away, leaving behind an almost alcoholic quality.

I agree with other reviewers that have described this as a 'masculine' perfume, yet, I personally wouldn't want to smell this on a man, either. Based on its description as 'bitter and acidic', Tamarind must be the note that's causing the clash and preventing me from loving Black XS.

Eivi

I absolutely don't like this perfume. It's so strong and sweet, but at the same time, it smells like men's perfume. Yuck!

kristinejane

wow. this stuff is so damn addicting!!! I kept sniffing my wrist!!! Sweet, musky, a bit masculine but sexy asss hell!!!!!!!!!!!

1000000/10 :)

chuckywife

wau this is good, reminds me of gucci rush, which is also considered as very seductive EDT, but l dont like rush, but l do like black xs,also it reminds me of rihanna rebelle,it must be because of that patchouli, it is very sexy for young girls, if l was 18, l would definetely buy it. I get lots of fruit, which l find suitable for young girls.Go for it!

sleppery

This one is so weak. It barely lasts on me and I can't really smell it at all. I accidentally spilled some and STILL I can barely smell it. It's waaay too subtle for my taste.

LuSlovakia

oh, this :) it was i blind buy and after first spritz, i wanted to sell it, bacause we didn´t really fit. fortunately i gave it a chance and it was worth it. black xs is dark and sexy, these two words are enough to say. i tried to wear it in work, but it just wasn´t made for daylight and office and routine... it was made for special nights.

it attracts men like aphrodisiac.. when i wear this, good friend of mine (total friendzone, no intentions from both sides:D), is always around me, sniffing, can´t get enough. once he said ,,i would give everything for just lying next to you and smelling your hair." so, ladies, this one´s a dangerous weapon in womans hands ;) use it carefully :)

CaramelSweets

I can't rave on enough about this perfume. It's wonderful the mixture of vanilla, violet, cranberry and musky wood. The scent lasts and lasts. I put it on a day ago and the scent is still strong and sweet. I feel sexy but sweet at the same time. The bottle is a gorgeous Gothic style pink and black bottle. A very feminine perfume.

geekgoddess

This reminds me of fresh-out-of-the-oven vanilla cake smeared with berry jam, all of it too hot to eat. The vanilla and fruit combo in Black XS is pretty, and a bit more grown up (and also much nicer) than a lot of the vanilla fruity frags out there that smell like jolly ranchers and syrup, but it's still in the same genre. I still like this perfume, but at 26 I am really starting to wonder if I'm too old to pull off this sort of thing.

flyingwind66

Starts sweet and floral with that bit of a woodsy base... then a few hours later, all I smell is the sandalwood... like the fruit and flowers just got deleted.

Does it feel like it's 'black' or 'excessive' in any way? Not really... still a lovely scent. The fact that the bottle is pretty helps.

kasks

I received a sample of this thanks to a lovely fragrantican. Paco Rabane Black xs starts off sweet, imagine the scent of sugar syrup blended with soft fruit chewies. Add to this mild chocolate and a drydown which is very very delish( couldnt stop sniffing myself). But egads! Why is the longevity so dismal on me? As is the silage? Every half hour, I would spray a little from that precious sample because it smelt so good but disappeared. It is indeed addictive, especially for people with a sweet tooth, but, for me, the silage and longevity on my skin being major factors, as important as the blend itself, I would refrain from making a full bottle purchase.

SzekelyEmoke

One of my exes had XS pour homme, and I thought to get a sample of this to see if I'd like...
It's kinda what I was expecting...too sweet and dark-spicy, some would call it sexy, I call it "too much", yet very boring and linear scent.
Definitely not for me.

Update: some notes from this reminds me of Lancome Hypnose.

Please guys do yourself a favor and buy that one.....It is so good!!

Love wearing this on a night out, very warm and sexy - makes me feel good! I prefer wearing it during winter, as it is quite strong.

This is one of my favourite perfumes to wear on a night out! When it's fresh out the bottle it can be a little strong but after a short while it calms down into a dark, moody, sexy fragrance that I get a lot of compliments on. It lasts by the far the longest out of all my perfumes, even after hours and hours of wear.

collectyourdead

This would be AMAZING if they added in tobacco as one of the top notes. It's missing the tobacco! Sigh, still good but it could be even better.

Definitely and interesting perfume, I impulse bought because of the bottle mainly, and because I love Lady Million, though it's not my favourite it still is quite nice!

kaypops

When I first spray this on it can be a tad strong, but as it drys down and mellows out this is absolutely sexy and beautiful. I get lots of compliments when I wear this fragrance. It is very bad ass and edgy. Just my type of scent! ;) Plus it lasts forever! I sprayed this on a shirt weeks ago and just found the shirt in my laundry basket while doing laundry and I could STILL smell it on the shirt. Definitely worth the price.

For some reason this is really weak on me. The smell on me is sweet and vaguely ozonic, but very faint lasting less than two hours, and with almost no silage.

princetongirl

The sexiest perfume ever ....perfect for winter !soooooo yummy <3

This is quite the interesting scent for me. Normally one to shy away from florals and sweet smelling scents, something in this fragrance sticks in my palette. It posesses a capturing pull between feminine and masculine, sweet and spicy, naughty and nice. The opening is very sweet and drenched in alcohol reminiscent of hairspray- not too appealing. However, once it settles, it transforms into a spicy, deep and likeable fragrance. The drydown smells like peppery rose with a hint of patchouli and musky cranberry. Not the most complex scent but a good one to have on hand when one tires of overpowering, decadent niche scents. The lasting power on this isn't long but maybe that's a good thing - less is more in this case.

This one does hav some slight spicy notes to it. Bt this one is too sweet, I will never buy this. I'm reviewing this for people who like sexy warm, slightly spicy scents, with Woody notes, like Versace crystal noir etc. Coz this one is nothing like that. If u r not a fan of sweet perfumes, Plz don't blind but this, coz it will smell cloyingly sweet on people like us.. Otherwise I think it's a beautiful fragrance for little over sweet n soft spicy scent lovers..

armacoonsum

Oh, dear. I love this even more than I just knew I would... it is indeed fruitchouli... May I coin a new acronym? CSS- can't stop sniffing. It is all of the dark, warm cocoa, the tart red berries, the nearly peppery patchouli I wanted it to be, drizzled in molten caramel-vanilla-honey-musk. Just absolutely delicious. For me, top notes & drydown were opposite of what many experienced-- I got the ever-so-slightly unisex vibe at first spritz, and it became fruiier and more honeyed as it developed. There is a tiny nod to Escada Magnetism, but *much* darker... I expect there are similarities to Flowerbomb and maybe even Killer Queen, going by listed notes, but have too little experience with those to say with any certainty. I do not get any Angel, at all. This one smells like the color of the bottle it is in. Angel does not smell "magenta" to me. ;)I wish I didn't love it, because now I MUST own a full bottle. The biggest one.

loonad

this one would be the rock princess sister while ricci ricci would be the preppy princess sister.love them both and both seem to have common notes.black xs gives you a certain edge.it is very sexy.

lyciumchld

It's nice enough, but on my skin it smells like men's cologne. I wonder if the vendor I bought the sample from gave me the men's version instead?

The last thing I need is ANOTHER perfume but MY GOD this smells good. Just like all the other reviewers said, it's clearly in the flower bomb, lolita lempicka, and angel family but unapologetically dark and mysterious too! I'm a little surprised that 7 years have gone by and I haven't noticed this sensual dark chocolate berry. There's a really good chance I will be purchasing this soon.

Lybarra118

What a yummy fragrance! The chocolate (Cacao) note usually becomes bitter and a bit sour on my skin (like dark chocolate), but as Vintage_Witch said, this is like spiked hot milk chocolate, and just as smooth.

The tamarind is noticeable, too, and the tartness/tanginess of it seems to keep the scent as a whole from being overly sweet. Goodness how I love to eat tamarind candy.

Black XS is mysteriously sweet, deliciously dark, with the perfect amount of patchouli and rose to keep it from crossing into Aquolina Pink Sugar territory.

A bit different for me, but a nice surprise nonetheless.
Come on cold weather! I need to wear this bad-boy asap.

Projection is moderate, longevity is about 4-6 hours. Longer when sprayed on clothes.

Update 10.14.14: Definitely has a hot chocolate dry down. Also, longevity is more like a strong 10 hours, and that's on skin! Not sure where the 4-6 came from.
