Luna by Nina Ricci is a Amber Vanilla fragrance for women. Luna was launched in 2016. Luna was created by Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne. Top notes are Wild Berries, Orange Blossom, Tangerine and Lime; middle notes are Caramel, Immortelle, Pear and Jasmine; base notes are Madagascar Vanilla, Licorice, Sandalwood and White Musk.

In 2016, Nina Ricci launches a new fragrance that will extend the world of fantasy that was created for Nina in 2006. Luna comes out in September as the enticing, powerful and mysterious counterpart to the modern and romantic princess represented by Nina.

Nina was created by Olivier Cresp as a sparkling and bright floral-fruity composition, while Luna is developed by Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne as bold, intense and mysterious.

Its sweetened woody-floral composition begins with notes of wild berries and sensual orange blossom. The heart combines yummy caramel blended with immortal flower on the carnal background of sandalwood and Madagascar vanilla.

Luna keeps the symbolism and shape of an apple. Colored in blue, decorated with gold leaves and black leather around its neck, it represents the night, the moonlit version of the fairytale fruit. The box is white with an apple motif in blue.Models of the campaign are Frida Gustavsson as Nina and Jac Jagaciak as Luna. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 80 ml Eau de Toilette.

I didn't get a whiff of any of its floral notes but instead, I get a spicy vanilla caramel that smells clean by dint of the licorice. It has the same vibe with the other vanilla caramel perfumes minus the licorice. The fragrance stayed long on my skin and clothes. This is perfect for nigh out.

sandraaalindgren

This is definitely a gourmand fragrance and a delicious one! The sweetness of the vanilla and caramel combined with the spiciness from the licorice is quite addictive tbh. And the bottle is magical!

JenAvery

Found a tester bottle in an antique shop, it smells a lot like D&G Devotion. I love it!

Løpasdfkdf

This is caramel with orange blossom. Its ok for cold, rainy days. It does not last that much. You have to like sweet perfumes. At the begynning is a lot of caramel and orange blossom but after 3 hours comes out the vanilla and musc.

Erinlu

I love this scent 🌚. It reminds me Lolita Lempicka but this one works better for me. I feel a lot vanilla and licorice, no berries. Too bad it's discontinued. I'll have to look online for more bottles.

vixen1995

Such a cute, Gorgeous bottle! Love the colors. The Licorice note is really nicely done here, Seems most prominent in the opening despite being a base note. Compared to my other Nina Ricci perfumes, This one doesn't have the greatest longevity, But for the price, It's worth re-applying. To me, This smells like you mixed Lolita Lempicka, BonBon, and Black Opium together, Maybe with a hint of Pink Sugar even. If you like those, You're sure to enjoy Luna.

Amethystery

It's a fine fragrance for autumn, and I do agree with it being perfect for a Halloween party, but it's just not compatible with my senses. I like the taste of licorice but I don't want to smell like I've bathed in it...

Luna is extremely heavy on the licorice, much more than I expected after seeing the votes. It really feels like it's formulated to smell like a Lolita Lempicka perfume; the scent is mature and on the verge of dated. If you were to mix every "sexy" fragrance from the early 00's marketed towards women, I imagine it would smell something like Luna.

I think I'd enjoy this if the fruits were more prominent but all I get is licorice and crumbly caramel. I really wanted to like Luna, but this was unfortunately a very disappointing blind buy.

Christy Kreyol

This is definitely a gourmand. A delicious 😋 smelling one, too. It's so beautiful on my skin 🤎. But for whatever reason, on clothes 👗 the top notes are smelling horrible to me.

Even though most people voted this perfume as a fall 🍁 perfume, it works fine on a summer ⛱️ night 🌌.

The13thHour

Luna is a absolute AUTUMN QUEEN!

I get a little bit of the wild berries in the opening but mostly this is a very caramel, apple (green apple to me), coffee, creamy vanilla and licorice fragrance. This is a must have gourmand perfume for autumn and winter! This gives me Halloween carnival vibes. It has good lasting power and it's not overly sweet!

spellbook.soaps

I can’t believe how much this scent has grown on me. At first, I got a gluey and synthetic blast of chaos, but thought it improved as it dried. I could really smell the licorice, but wasn’t sure how to feel about it. Over the past three weeks I’ve had it, I feel it calling to me more and more. It lasts about three hours and is sort of faint indoors, but outdoors, I catch whiffs of it on the wind that are so magical! I started picking up on sandalwood, caramel, and jasmine along with the licorice and it’s such a rich, captivating blend. At $27 a bottle, I’m not sure I’d spend more on a cool-weather scent ever again. I crave it almost every day, and it’s not even fall! I might see what Nina Ricci can offer for warm seasons… hee hee!

acatarinapatricio

She is young. She is not looking for romance, but somehow amazes all men that passes thro her. She looks like a princess but craves adventure. It is a sweet and feminine perfume, but not sickening at all.

I believe most people will disagree with me, since Luna is generally used during fall and winter, but the sweetness of it is totally fine for warmer days from my experience.

Honestly, I wanted to gatekeep this one, but I just can't. The "soft spicy", "powdery" and "balsamic" chords that stick to your skin makes everyone wanting to keep smelling continually.

If you are not a fan of sweet perfumes, then maybe this is not the one for you, otherwise I recommend you giving it a try!

iribrix

total blind buy but i have been dying for a nina ricci ever since i had a tiny little ricci ricci when i was a tweenager and found this one on a resale website for like thirty bucks which i think was an absolute steal. when sprayed into the air it smells like duty free, loud and clean and expensive (with an interesting spicy kick), but on my skin it almost immediately settles into something gently gourmand and very alluring. don't recommend it for the current season just because it can become quite cloying in the wrong climate, but even during the summer it'll stay ON for a night out

Thranduil

Finally, I have found a non-cloying gourmand!

Though I do love a delicious smelling perfume, gourmands tend to be overbearing and cloying in the tropical heat I live in.

Luna is soft gourmand. It's yummy, and it doesn't make me want to stop breathing a minute after I apply it. My nose picks up on the caramel, licorice, vanilla, and a tartness of forest fruits. It's certainly alluring and a touch "mature". Nothing like the loud sweetness of the original Nina and Bella is to be found in Luna.

Sweet but not overly sweet, Luna is an apt choice for those wanting a cute gourmand perfume during hot weather.

MademoiselleMaya

I loved it spring evening time - it had a lot of depth, allure and seduced me. A lot of forest fruits somehow mixed with lime juice and caramel with a lot of pear and fruity water nuances. Quite a dose of licorice too. Pale woods are holding it todether. It's moist, fruity and gourmand.
Different and unique and yet in style it remonds me of LouLou Blue, Noa, Ange ou Demon and Lolita Lempicka.

sugaryrose

Reminds me of Lolita Lempicka - sweet and mysterious. Bears similarity with Black Opium too. You can definitely smell caramel, licorice and coffee. Ideal for autumn/winter or a summer night out.

Acrelune

Not much to say here.
This is a caramel-Orange perfume. Very similar to (but IMO better than) The Only One by D&G.
Pleasant gourmand scent. Very beautiful bottle.
But that is all there is to it.

I've been wearing this at this different times for a couple of months now, and have discovered my favorite way to enjoy it. It's sweet (but not too), it's pretty, and my experience with it is very similar to everything LiliiiS said below! It is reminiscent of Girl of Now but a few degrees less intense. For me, I find Luna to be perhaps a little bit too youthful, as I am in my 50s, and it lacks the notes of depth, complexity or sentimentality that I usually am looking for. It's still a very pleasing, comforting scent though, so I tried it at bedtime and I love it for that. It makes a sweet and cozy cocoon. And, I adore the bottle! So I actually took it out of my special perfume cabinet (where they are stored in the cool darkness) and put it right on my nightstand where I will enjoy seeing the beautiful blue apple named Luna (for the moon), and it will be part of my nighttime ritual until it's used up. I probably won't repurchase it, but I'll enjoy it while it lasts - and will certainly keep the empty bottle. :) It's a like/love.... if I were 22, it would be a love!

LiliiiS

I don't find Nina Ricci Luna that similar to Prada Candy, D&G The Only One, Viktor&Rolf BonBon or Lolita Lempicka. it reminds of Elie Saab Girl of Now a lot. it's as if it's an edt version of Girl of Now.
I can detect berries in the opening but I can also pickup a strong pear note which lasts longer than berries and blends with warm, sweet and slightly powdery notes of vanilla, caramel and sandalwood. licorice is there but I don't find it as strong as it can be in other perfumes. floral notes don't really show themselves to me. it's more playful in the opening thanks to the fruity notes but it dries down to something more smooth and cozy. it has a gourmand vibe all through it's life. I can feel something nutty in it but I don't know which note is responsible for that.
This is a autumn, winter perfume for me which lasts around 4,5 hour and has moderate sillage. I know that I like it a lot just as I like Elie Saab Girl of Now. I'm not sure about loving it though

juliausa

It starts as strong, delicious sweet gourmand ( in same category as Lolita Lempicka EDP) …unfortunately after 10min all the excitement is gone, and flat moderately sweet and powdery scent remains, turns into skin scent in 2-3h.
It does layer beautifully with moderately sweet perfumes that can benefit from added powdery notes. Keeping it for this particular purpose only.

This is my least favorite one from all the Ninna Ricci perfumes I have tried ( and I tried many of them).

loonad

One of my birthday gifts from my husband this year. It reminded him of me as I'm named Loona. A sweet inoffensive scent.

Sodastream83

I bought this travelling to Bangkok, used it during my stay there and loved it. You don't want anything cloying in humid heat, and I found this to be the perfect gourmand for the weather. This made my sweat smell very sexy and I could really get all the yummy caramel/licorice/vanilla/sandalwood-notes. However, since returning home and experiencing swedish summer and autumn this is not a perfume that is doing me any favours. To be honest I can't almost smell it even if I overspray. It's very tame. And there is no reason to use this in this dry climate when I could use classics like Poison girl etc. that actually projects and make me feel myself if you know what I mean. So now this is just collecting dust and waiting for my next trip to a tropical country..

EternalLight

Cheaper, sweeter, longer lasting Prada Candy.

Kat111

I hate the smell of licorice… with a passion. It doesn’t smell at all. I think it blends in with the other sents.. and is nice

Tinabill

Luna starts with tart fruity & citrusy notes mixed with sweet caramel and licorice. It becomes very sweet in the heart and base, but still multi-faceted and balanced out by the other notes, so I don’t find it is boring or sickening. The tartness tames the sweetness, the licorice adds an interesting kick, the white florals render some airiness, the immortelle some powderiness, as well as some depth from the sandalwood.
I like it a lot.
It lasts 4-5 hours on me with a close scent bubble for the first 2 hours. It then becomes a skin scent with occasional wafts with air currants. This is good for an EDT. The One Desire and Prada Candy are caramel EDPs that last only 2-3 hours on my skin.
The scent and bottle of Luna pay a nod to Lolita Lempicka EDP but in a much more tame way. Very lovely for autumn and winter days and LL for nights.

bel.gravia

Soooo sweet intense and balsamic! Caramel sugared berries almost cotton candy. Together with gorgeous immortelle.... the immortelle made me recall Interlude by Amouage its such a strong and unique note. These two perfumes are not at all similar however. Luna is a fiercely strong balsamic candy. I love it.

AuraAngelMuse

This perfume is definitely not what I was hoping for. It smells almost exactly like Paris Hilton's Can Can for me, which I decluttered a few months ago. This does smell like a better version, more tolerable. It's got this Dr Pepper cola smell, with burnt sugar caramel and some powderiness. Can Can has such an overload of powder and amber that it makes me super nauseous. Luna doesn't have too much, therefore it's much better than Can Can. However, I was definitely hoping for something that smelled more like caramel and less like Dr Pepper. Sillage is not amazing, I get whiffs every now and again. I had to over spray to improve the sillage. Longevity on skin lasts a couple hours and all day on clothes. I highly doubt I'll repurchase this ever again, but I wanted to try it out in case it's been discontinued, as I'm trying to find a bunch of good caramel fragrances. This missed the mark for me, but it's definitely not awful.

Edit: This smells good to me now. It has a powdered sugar type smell at the dry down to go along with the Dr Pepper smell. It reminds me of Katy Perry Killer Queen a little bit now. It lasts a good while on my shirt and I can smell a lovely sweet powdery sugar smell wafting around when I wear this fragrance.

LeaLush

I'm very confused by these notes listed on this fragrance. I don't get anything but caramel, vanilla and musk. That's it. This is a buttery sweet girly pretty scent. Quite lovely actually. But for the life of me I don't get any red berries, limes, tangerines...maybe some pear in the opening but that quickly dries down to a delicious caramely vanilla.
Also, I've read every single review on here and I can't believe nobody has compared it to Ralph Lauren's Beyond Romance. The drydown is spot on identical!! Only difference is, the RL has a raspberry note throughout but WOW!! The first spray just hit me in the face like whoa this is a beyond romance dupe without the raspberry. It's the same sweet caramely vanillic powerdy drydown.
This stuff projects like crazy and you will smell this on you throughout the day. Full disclosure, I'm not a fan of overly sweet perfumes but this works. And for the price I paid for it, I'd say it was worth it.

yunoh

Hands down the best Nina! Words cannot describe how much I actually like this, it's kinda crazy! It literally has a lot of my favorite notes. This is a fruity caramel with a bit of sandalwood, I cannot really smell the licorice in it but I wish I could because I love licorice a lot. It's a really sweet scent. If you like viva la juicy or la nuit tresor you should try this Luna scent. The bottle is really cute too!

Fashionplatefanny

Delicious! It’s sweet gourmand but not edible or sickly and unlike most choc/patchouli gourmands. It’s sweet, slightly fruity and floral, buttery caramel. It’s smooth, yummy and has a nice depth. I find it comforting. I’m relieved that the white musk in the base is not detectable as I’m not a white musk fan.

The blue bottle is gorgeous, so enchanting and suitable to the perfumes name. I love Nina’s bottles but I hate the sprayer on this one, it feels flimsy and it’s hard to aim the spray.
I love it!! Anyone can wear this one. I’d say it’s a cooler weather fragrance and probably more suitable for night. It projects nicely without being overbearing or invasive and due to the lovely depth it has good longevity. It’s a winner! Sad it’s being discontinued.

Edit* So the longevity is huge!!! The longer you wear it the stringer it gets. It’s a little sickly.

Simona Anemone

On my skin it just smelled like tart caramel. Almost as if mixing sour apple juice with caramel.
Gave it several chances, and tried to like it, but it made me nauseated unfortuneatly:( I had to gift it away to someone who could wear it. Very pretty bottle.

SiVic'sLady98

Caramel butter bomb!✨

_I.V_

Luna is great! I kinda love/hate the opening. It's very sweet. I like syrupy and sugary gourmands. But this one can be a bit too much, at times. Once it settles, it smells like buttery caramel with wild berry notes... and vanilla cake... utterly delicious tartness from those berry notes and decadent sweetness of caramel and pear. I don't get a lot of floral notes. Maybe a hint of orange blossom here and there. It's like a grown up Viva la Juicy type of scent. The base/drydown of this fragrance is gorgeous. It's all about that powdery sandalwood and delicious maple syrup-y immortelle flower. The base notes are not overly sweet, and have almost like a 'cosmetic powder' quality to them. Lovely. Great longevity. Projection wasn't amazing, on my skin... but with this one I can't do more than 1-2 sprays. Caramel overdose, for real. Perfect for fall months. Cute 'whimsical' apple bottle. However, this one doesn't really smell like apples. Maybe there's a hint of sweet apple in the deep drydown; or maybe it's the berry/vanilla/pear combo.

trixiesalamander

Heads up! I just saw this put on sale at shoppers drug mart, with a sign saying it’s discontinued.

autobus25

Sweet musky wild berries on my skin. Not too sweet, not too powdery. Great for any seasons, any occasions. Get a 30 ml, pretty sure I'm gonna buy a full bottle of this in the future.

fyetan

Starts with a fruity vanilla that is sweet, but not fresh. It's kind of a thick fruit, like a reduction as opposed to zest. The thickness must be from the immortelle.
About an hour in, the fruit has settled into a sweet floral - the orange blossom and immortelle combined with some caramel. If you were looking for a candy-forward perfume you will be disappointed, this is more complicated than that. Maybe it's a chameleon, since so many reviews differ even in if it's tart or sweet.

I don't think this is as recognizable as Nina. I've smelled sweet florals before. The bottle is darling though.

alicemarcone

This fragrance is very unique, one of my favourites gourmands, but unfortunately it just wont stay on my skin for very long. It is sad, it's longevity on me won't go further than 1 hour. But I started to use this fragrance everyday in my bed: a few sprays when I wake up and a few more right before going to sleep. I really get why it is called Luna, my sleeping time turned out to be a delicious part of the day. The caramel and the vanilla notes are what I enjoy and feel the most, specially when it sticks for some time on the blankets, but there are so much more in this. There is also something that must be the immortelle, very sweet but also different and exquisite. I like very much sleeping with Luna.

echurch1979

I take a long draw from my blotter, and the most lavishly sweet top note breaks my perspective wide open. The opening of this perfume is transformative. I see reviews are lack luster, mixed, and irreverent. I tilt my head in question. No one seems to agree on the DNA of this creation either, with suggestions of Black Opium and La Vie Est Belle, missing the mark considerably. Off hand, I would find it difficult to identify a close comparison. As I have journeyed through this trio's surreal gourmand manifestations, I can't help but be markedly impressed with Nina, Bella, and Luna; each in turn, taking us further into the enchanted forest. Luna's use of wild berries and a vanilla drenched caramel causes, even the most refined parts of me, to swoon over its sticky sweetness. Bergamot, jasmine and pear further add a luxuriantly silky thread throughout. A gentle, mid-summer fever dream, of dark branches shimmering gold in the moon light. Creamy sandalwood seems like an intuitive collaborator, opening facets of orange blossom and honey accords. Although its sugary nature is profound, it somehow feels balanced - a mesmerizing midnight stroll through shadows where magic surely lurks. A truly wonderful escape from the tediousness of daily responsibilities. Here is a refuse of your own creation, where fairies flutter, and visions manifest, in a way only the night can conjure.

Cosmina07

Lime, tangerine and sourberries make sense for me now, but all the citruses should be listed here with all the vitamin C because this scent is really sharp and tart, almost astringent and sour. I have mixed feelings but I can not say anything bad about its performance and silage ...still is a little bit too childish.

RachelSeun

There’s something about this fragrance that reminds me of YSL’s Manifesto, so I’m glad to see Manifesto appear in the ‘This reminds me of’ section even if people disagree. You could probably layer the two together. Smells very green yet sweet with a soft powdery touch to it, there’s a perfect balance of musk and caramel so it’s never too sweet and never too musky.

bluejellyfish444

Starts off with a scent of berries; I feel like cherry should be listed as a note as well. The drydown is a sweet, warm gourmand that reminds me a bit of black opium.

Parfumului35

I have 30 ml bottle. Can anyone tell me please if the sprayer is simple or like the 50 ml one? Mine has the leaves as the cap.

cherrygalore

This is a review for the EDT.

This one is a very powerful scent. It reminds me a lot of Hypnotic Poison by Dior. Quite powdery and spicy.

What's funny is that I'm detecting some lemon pledge scent underneath the powdery notes (although this could just be the lime), but it's very pleasant and well balanced. The liquorice, musk and lime are the main notes in this fragrance. It's not overly heavy or too fruity. The caramel, wild berries, vanilla and sandalwood aren't as potent, but they make a delightfully discreet appearance.

Something about Luna is giving off a moonlit beach on a tropical island vibe, and for a few moments, I was reminded of another perfume; Magical Moon by Hanae Mori. There's some hidden incense in there somewhere for sure. Smoky, aquatic, mysterious, and dark.

I wouldn't say this fragrance is for the faint of heart, but for those who like a good 'kick'.

Perfect for an autumn/winter day.

samantham-123

I quite enjoy this. My bottle liquid is a slightly golden colour in the blue glass and it's got pretty good projection and longevity.
It's burned caramel and mixed berries on first spray. Then it dries down to a delicious mix of bitter licorice, creamy caramel and that honey-soaked-hay like accord from the immortelle that's kind of dry but syrupy at the same time. It just works.
It's not overly sweet, soft and airy but strong enough to get nice little whafts around me.

Nancy83

While I prefer this one over the woodsy apple floral Nina, Luna is a incensey caramel berry scent, more yummy, my style, I love the licorice note in the background, I would use it up easily if I had it, but I don't plan on buying it, there are more caramel perfumes on the market I found more interesting. The performance is average. I think I wish it was deeper, darker, a bit stronger (but not Aquolina Pink Sugar strong). I wrist test it at the drugstore and I might retest it again, I'm not closing the door, but I think I will keep my money for a perfume with a more wow factor.

mevans

Luna is very yummy. I love that caramel-vanilla-berry accord. A previous reviewer mentioned a coffee note and I get something like that too although I think it may be coming from the caramel. This is a good all year round gourmand. It's not overwhelming to those around you but still gives you that fix. It's a light fragrance and wears close to the skin. Longevity is quite good. I could still smell it on my skin hours later which is amazing for an EDT.

Cmed

Update. So some years later I'm revisiting this. My slightly more experienced nose is finding this to be predominantly jasmine. The opening a fresher fruity jasmine and the dry down becomes more caramel jasmine. It's quite sweet but has more character than the more recent 'sweets'. Sweet with depth, full, slightly spiced.

monicemo

A blind buy for. I normally love the notes and main accords that Luna has. And after reading all of the reviews here I dared to take the plunge. Wow! How wrong I was. I really really dislike the smell of this perfume. No vanilla sweetness, but something sharp and unpleasant. I tried it several times but I always end up in the shower. I can't believe all these raving reviews. Maybe there is something wrong with my nose.

100_percent_correct

When I first purchased this fragrance in February 2019, I really enjoyed it. It smelled like a delicious, sticky, caramel-vanilla dessert. Very sweet and also somewhat musky and powdery. The longevity was pretty poor lasting just 1-2 hours, and the only compliments it received came from hungry women. Nevertheless, I wore this fragrance almost daily until the snow had completely melted before moving onto something more floral for spring. Flash forward to January 2020 when I rediscovered this adorable little bottle in my collection. Despite having been stored in a cool dark closet the whole time, this fragrance had turned in less than a year. The liquid is noticeably darker and until dry down, there’s a horrible synthetic, chemical-like note; similar to the experience of using a certain “bubbly” bathroom spray cleaner. I was so turned off by it that I put it away until this evening. Unfortunately, another 4 months in storage hasn’t improved matters. The caramel and the powder have softened and the fruitiness really pops out now, but it still smells like a bad, cheap candy coated with spray cleaner. Maybe I received a bottle from a bad batch, who knows. Anyway, it’s safe to say I will not be giving Luna another chance

Apiaceae

Nina... Cute! I get the Lolita Lempicka comparison but it's just an overall impression. Nina isn't as fun or spicy, but she is more tame and cosy! On me, this dries down smelling of cake. Vanilla, caramel and fruit on a Lolita - ish base. Not overly sweet, fine overall, but don't expect fireworks. Would be nicer if those floral aspects were louder to balance the cake. Worth buying if you want a gourmand that is not aggressively sweet!

caro78

Guys this has been heavily reformulated ? my new bottle doesn’t smell like my old one at all
Much thinner and the caramel is barely there

food.is_life

Luna is actually very nice, despite the horrible bottle and the other scents from Nina Ricci. The licorice note is noticeable, but far more pleasant than the one in Lolita Lempicka. I think I also smell some coffee. Overall, it's a sweet fragrance, easy to wear with some uniqueness. Best I've tried so far from the brand.

rchayes

This smells like a lighter, fresher version of La Vie Est Belle.

Amascent

Peppery smokey salted caramel with a fruity touch is the reaction on my skin. It's not so sweet on me. It's well balanced with woody herbs and crisp citrus... but it remains crisp and deep... stays away from fresh and bright. I don't smell a lot of licorice as others have mentioned. I have Hypnotic Poison, and that is a crazy stong licorice, not this. The licorice in this is nice, soft and barely noticeable. Well blended and just adds a layer of depth to this great scent. I actually get a strong smokey peppery kick on my skin. Not sure where this is coming from since pepper isn't mentioned in the notes at all. It's like a fresh cracked pepper. I wonder if anyone else gets this as well? On me it smells complex and lovely. On a tester strip it smells sweet of caramel berry's and less unique, more sweet and predictable. On my skin it has that peppery crisp kick that's just enough to be special. It lasts about 4ish hours on me as well so just ok, but not terrible. At the end of a long day I'm left with a very soft smokey fem powdery scent after the crisp richness wears away. It's easy to wear... sweet peppery and soft in the mornings, so not offensive when you're trying to wake up while many other perfumes punch you in the face before you're ready for it. So this is a nice every day scent. I wouldn't wear it at night, or to anything special. as I like something a little spicier and richer for evenings. This is perfect for day wear. Oh and just a fab little bottle too. So cute, and I love the shade of blue with the black and gold! Looks great and I enjoy reaching for this little work of art some mornings. For the price it's a ncie little addition to have in your collection. Something a little softer and lighter for those easy girly days.

bianca_11106

Buttery caramel on top of yummy berries, this is what I get from Luna, and I really enjoy it.
The licorice isn't too obvious to my nose, and it blends so beautifully with the immortelle note, creating a rich, smokey accord.
I admit that longevity isn't that great, after a couple of hours it goes to a powdery vanilla skin scent, but I don't mind, I like it for what it is, a sweet, delicious, warm and cozy  fragrance.

LisaMari

A cloying generic musk

lttlgrl

Nina is one of my favorite fragrances so I was really excited to try it's sister perfume.

Luna is, like Nina, a caramel gourmand but more grown-up and less fruity/fresh. It starts off with a hit of liquorice and caramel. After drying down, the liquorice is even more pronounced and stays very strong for about an hour. For me personally, liquorice can be everything from extremely offensive to alluring and sensual (such as in Lolita Lempicka). In Luna I think the liquorice is a little bit too overpowering and doesn't really blend in all that well. To my nose it even kind of blocked out all other notes during the first hour. I was actually quite annoyed with it and wanted to go wash it off my wrist but decided to be patient.

After about 1h of wear, the liquorice starts to fade and warm, cozy caramel and vanilla comes through. I get some berries in there as well. Sweet gourmand, but not over-the-top syrupy sweet. Suitable for colder weathers but I think it works well for both day and night. It's cute, but honestly nothing ground breaking really, as I feel like I've smelled this type of scent a million times before.

What's really disappointing is the lasting power. Even for a EdT it's weak. I think the blue apple-shaped bottle is so pretty though, apart from that black rubber band on it's neck. Why did they decide to keep that!?

liverpudlian78

Luna doesn't last all that long on the skin, but it is really pleasant;sweet yet not cloyingly sweet. I want a bottle because the flacon itself is nice and the perfume is very wearable. It reminds me a little of Lolita Lempicka, but I prefer this.

aqua76239

This was a blind buy, edt and small lotion in a gift set. Its fruity gourmand basically and its lovely. Fruit notes are so well blended with midnote floral that its hard to tell when it moves into that stage. There is a teensy bit of powder which I actually like and it gives me more of an adult feeling rather than staying in "I am a teen girl who is wearing sweet like candy scent. As another reviewer said the base while still with some sweetness has some smokiness so it doesn't smell like your average vanilla, it has more of a woodsy thing going on. Overall, its a step above fruity vanilla scents that are so popular and everyone and their mother is wearing them. Bottle is adorable btw.

I don't think its anything earth shattering but I been happy with my purchase, lotion is richly fragranced and smells just like the perfume itself

nightcutter

This is a lovely fragrance. It is sweet but not overwhelming sweet. The top notes are a delight - a mix of caramel, berry, licorice and an odd patchouli-like menthol note.
If only it lasted. This performs very badly on me and is a skin scent in 30 minutes. Its gone completely after 2 or 3 hours.

Rose du soir

Luna smells like Lolita Lempicka mixed with Bonbon. It has more complexity than it seems like at first. The caramel slowly goes to the background, and then it's all about sweet, herbal, powdery liquorice. The sweetness is just right and very gourmand. It's a possible option to those who miss the beautiful liquorice in LL after its reformulation, because Luna's liquorice is more present and lasts longer than in the reformulated LL. It has average sillage and its longevity is 10 to 12 hours on skin. And the bottle is so cute.
The more time goes by and the more I love Luna. Its caramel and liquorice are addictive.

melialyn

I also lucked out at shoppers and picked up a 50ml for $20. First impression was sweet fruity vanilla, maybe brown sugary. I like it so far, not super strong but very sweet. Can't speak for longevity yet, but does remind me of wonderstruck enchanted. I wanted a sweet fruity gourmand and had recently found d&g pour femme in the States and thought I'd love those notes but I get a sharp weird plasticky smell, I don't know what it is, got the same smell out of both Roberto Cavallis I've had. But this I like.

florabella

I picked this fragrance up from the 19.99 shelf at Shoppers Drug Mart. It was a blind buy that I’ve come to enjoy! It definitely is a vanilla and caramel gourmand with a bit of a smokey twist to it. I don’t pick up on any of the blueberry at all. What I found to be the most interesting thing about wearing Luna is that all day I kept thinking that someone near me was wearing Hypnotic Poision, it turned out to be me! I’m not saying it’s a dupe but on my skin there are definitely some similarities.

Mirella86

I have mixed feelings about this. It is a blind buy, considering I love almost everything with caramel, vanilla and licorice. However, this failed to impress me. It is in no way bad and I don't dislike it, but I find it too average for my taste, it's like it doesn't have anything special to make it stand out. I will use it, however, but I'm not very impressed. I love the bottle, though, it's a little piece of art

kioflare

Hello, little Lolita Lempicka smellalike!
And the bottle is also an apple! Cuteness abound.
I don't think it is a straight dupe, maybe less complex, but it reminds me of the drydown of LL a lot.

Not too sweet for a gourmand, less sweet than Juicy Couture's ilk. A little sour.
Better.

And the late drydown crosses into Terre de Lumiere territory. Is this scent an amalgamation of things I like?

rachellecunningham

When Luna first came out, I absolutely HAD to test it since a) Nina is one of my all-time favourite perfumes and b) I LOVE a good vanilla/gourmand. While I did really love it upon first sniff, I actually opted not to buy it at the time.

Caramel is undoubtedly the strongest note in Luna, with enough vanilla and fruity goodness to go around. But after a little while, I found that the licorice note stood out quite a bit, and that ended up being the reason I didn't buy this little blue beauty right then and there. I've always had a sort of love-hate relationship with licorice, and at the time, I guess it just wasn't meant to be.

I ended up receiving this as a gift a few months ago though, and I have to say, I've been enjoying it SO much! Maybe I'm crazy, but I don't get such a strong licorice vibe from my bottle. Just sweet, comforting caramel and vanilla.

I wore it to bed the other night, and when my boyfriend snuggled up close, he quietly said "mmm... you smell like fruit punch," before drifting off to sleep. Now, he's a guy who typically just says things like "you smell pretty," so I'm gonna take that as a win.

AHeartLikeMine

Luna is a gourmand through and through. The caramel is strong, and for me, the vanilla isn't very present. Luna retains some of the floral, incense-y notes from Nina. It reminds me of Katy Perry Killer Queen (itself often compared to La Vie Est Belle) mixed with Nina, with caramel in the place of apple. I feel like this fragrance had a lot of potential, given that gorgeous flacon, but instead only put a slight Nina twist on the popular idea of gourmand.

I'm still waiting to try Luna Blossom. I really hope I love it more than this.

P.S. If anyone loves this or wants to try it, I have several (11) 1.5 ml vials that I can swap. PM to make offers.

carolinneus

I'm sure Luna is no great artisanal feat, but it's a scent I can't get enough of. It's sweet and adorable, but I wouldn't have this as a fragrance to sport so much as just something I would want to keep smelling all day, all the time. Silage is fine, longevity pretty good. I wouldn't call this a mysterious scent at all, more childlike and cute. Like a fairy.

There's a brief opening that lasts for mere minutes on me. I'd say it smells like a fresher, berry soft drink/mountain blast version of the heart stage, with a slightly more fougerey tone. It's sharp enough that when I was trying this on in various stores I'd always worry that it was the wrong fragrance!

The heart is just the aggressive caramel-vanilla accord all the way down. Soft and absolutely delectable, it doesn't change much on me at all. I'm guessing since it doesn't smell just like caramel, this accord also has tones of the immortelle listed here.

GodleWska

Took mother for a gift for the new year. The aroma is delicious, warm, with notes of vanilla. I only use delicate fresh fragrances, but I really liked this one. Aroma is good for winter and late autumn. And yet, breathing in this fragrance is a picture: a cold winter evening, a fireplace, a warm blanket and a glass of hot mulled wine :)

magdalena81.1

I blindbought this with a discount and I´m happy I did. To me it´s blueberries mixed with caramel and vanilla at first. Then the musk kicks in making it more interesting and darker. This is the little sister of La Petite Robe Noir Intense, a perfume I have a tester of and I have tried it several times with the result that it is too strong on me and the musk is overpowering which I don´t like at all. Still, the beginning of LPRNI is really nice but the drydown puts me off. Luna´s scent is as beautiful as it´s bottle and the blue suits the berries well and reveals that the evening and colder season is the best for this fragrance. Not for every day wear but for days when you want to smell sweet and a bit sexy. Good longevity on me and moderate sillage which is good because you will want to be near the person wearing this.

Edit: I forgot -it´s a little powdery at just the right amount. (Powder is certainly not my favourite note but it´s bearable in this one.)

charlie.aeroplane

one of the few sweet fragrances I can enjoy, reminds me of sprinkles. Why I like it is because the sweetness doesn't sting down your neck, It is polite and charming in its simplicity.
Oh, and the most important it is airy, unlike others sweeties that can suffocate.

mapache

Flowers...caramel...berries mixed in...a little vanilla action thrown in...and...then...ya get a light...sweet licorice "vibe"...(not full on)...and then to my nose...almost an herbal-ish undertone...???...and sweet woodiness...not dry...not spicy...the mid-drydown goes gourmandy for sure on me...the the final drydown is very blissful.A very interesting and misleading composition to the nose. This smells slightly different each time I have worn it...???...Ok...do I like/love it..???...Yeah,I kinda do,due to it's "put me on,and let me fool with your senses" thing...lol...This one is a guilty pleasure....just for me.

P.S.: The botlle is very nice...and I agree..."blue" was the wrong color choice...lol.

Harpalike

The berries in Luna are not the main accord. They are not interesting as well. But the licorice is more than interesting - sometimes I can detect it in the opening, other time in the base. Hide and seek game :).
The floral notes and the citruses make the caramel very balanced and not tooth-achy. Interesting and as the others already mentioned, multifaceted fragrance.

marchen

I've always bypassed Nina Ricci. When I was of an age for girly things I wanted to wear something more mysterious. Now that I'm more mature I feel I may have aged out of the princess and faery demographic. But I was looking for something new with my precious immortelle and thought I'd give this a punt. I'm shocked by how many facets this perfume has. Every time I smell it, something different emerges. On the whole it's a powdery sort of sweetness, so I can understand the 'kool aid' accusation but Luna is more than just a berry blue.

YYY_Delilah

The intense caramelly sweetness is there alright - but not, I think, quite to the degree that the notes-voting here would have it - but it's so well buffered by the other elements in this against becoming cloying. I would not favour this if that were not so, but the upshot with it TMM is that it becomes rather woody. And I think the jasmine has its say also, and it's a quite-on-the-skanky-side jasmine. Then there's a pleasant amberiness, although musk but not amber is listed here, enriching the woodiness, to which it seems particularly to connect. And the whole has a satisfying full-bodied-ness to it.

Might possibly promote this to a 'love' later!

A bit reminiscent of Mugler's both Alien and Angel, TMM, but keeping plenty of its own character.

Had this on all day now, and have found it plenty stout. How could I forget the bourbon vanilla note (or Madagascan - same thing, I think). Obviously, that's s major player in this. Bourbon vanilla, sandalwood, licquorice: it's probably the accord of these that's giving rise to the woodiness.

As to the marketing ... I ignored this for a long time, it appearing rather '''tacky' to me. But I think now that if exactly the same perfume had been in a more austere bottle such as, say, Prada perfumes come in, I would just have instantly clocked it as a perfectly fine fragrance. But I still wish they would 'lose' the apple-stalk plunger - it just asks to get broken! It's a bit baroque, shall we say ... and soon it will be baroque!

crossfitqueen

This could be the “little sister” of Lancôme:La vie est belle and Candy by Prada. Smells delicious.Sweet,gourmand.If you like sweet fragrances(I personally do) this one probably is for you. On me smells so much like LVB

Cassiano

Luna was released in 2016, a decade after the release of its other half, Nina. It is part of the collection "Les Belles de Nina" and tells the story of inseparable friends, lived by two real models: Frida Gustavsson and Jac Jagaciak. Inspiration continues to be the universe of the young, with their temptations, laughter and emotions.

The bottle also follows the pattern of Nina's apples, but has gained a more striking shape, with a leather strap around the neck and golden leaves that bring a much more beautiful and modern internal spray. My only criticism is for the blue color, which does not represent - at all - the color of the fragrance and what it conveys. When it comes to apples as forbidden fruits and bottle design, while Nina resembles the Fuji and Gala types, Luna looks more like the McIntosh and Cortland types. And since I mentioned the color, it would be much more coherent if it was made in shades of yellow and orange, existing in nature and compatible with the aroma.

Luna's official composition carries notes of orange blossom and wild berries, anticipating an explosion of immortelle and caramel, in the body of the fragrance, on a base with vanilla from Madagascar and sandalwood. The brand defines it as a tempting floral-woody. In my opinion, it is a floral gourmand, which is complex and even innovative.
When touches the skin, Luna shows itself much more nocturnal than Nina. There is a floral freshness, coming from the orange blossom, which comes to mask all the sweetness that is to come. Wild berries do not show any trace of a red fruit accord, in case you are afraid of this type of ingredient. However, as I said, the orange blossom is what you notice, right away, until the moment when the heart of the fragrance begins to beat. Then, all the power of the everlasting flower appears with its intense luscious and floral scent, dipped in a caramel syrup.

There is definitely a mature side at this stage, which makes me understand that the Luna woman may even be Nina's best friend, but her experience of life is different. And to finish, there is a smell of creamy vanilla, as in baked cookies or baker’s cream, which holds the evolution for hours to the point where the perfume gets lost a little and reminds of several others on the market, with that smell of sweet patchouli / burnt sugar.

While Nina, with her apple caipirinha scent, can be worn even on slightly warmer days, Luna is the ideal type of perfume for colder days. It may seem more of the same, but it just seems. For a product launched in 2016, when everything smelled similar and was made with notes of vanilla and patchouli, this fragrance surprises me with the originality of using a flower that is difficult to work with and has an intoxicating fragrance. Even today, in 2018, I notice a more current approach and I am shocked at some criticism I read about it.

I particularly feel a more elaborate creative style - beautiful work by Christophe Raynaud and Marie Salamagne - to the point of saying that if this fragrance were in a bottle of exclusive collections from Guerlain or some niche brands, no one would dare to imagine another apple made by Nina Ricci.
Now, the question that begs to be asked: why blue?

blake.lee

This is more complex than I expected. The immortelle note is strong and interesting. In the same sniff this comes across as both sweet gourmand, berry fragrance and then dried herbs and aquatic. It is not your run of the mill fruity floral. It dried down to smooth, woody and sweet herb cosiness. Try it. Maybe you'll be surprised by it's quirky vibe too.

addiehominem

Luna smells like blue Kool Aid for faeries, a wonderful thing if you can embrace liquid whimsy. I think the bottle matches the juice--Luna strikes me as a cheery, pretty, sparkly sort of perfume, like midnight in an enchanted forest or A Midsummer Night's Dream.

I love its berry facet the best; the berry note isn't flat. It's light and a little aquatic, but has a deep blue raspberry aroma at its heart. Caramel sweetness veils the fruit in a subtle way, never becoming overbearing. If I had one complaint, it would be that Luna has only slightly more depth than a Victoria's Secret fruit scent, and poor longevity. It compensates for this in smelling a bit more mature than VS offerings, however.

By the way, does anyone else think the Van Cleef & Arpel's Feerie and Luna bottles look dangerously similar?

EDIT: I've been hesitating wearing this again because the last time I wore it, it made me feel nauseous. Definitely not something to wear in any kind of heat.

PricklyAndHot

Yummy fragrance. Berries and caramel. Only maybe I'm old for it.

Nynke

This was a blind buy for me and unfortunately I don’t like it.
I am not good at telling notes apart in a scent but I get quite a strong somwhat alcohol-like oldfashioned vibe from this, like I get from perfumes like Chanel No. 5 and Chanel Allure. I also get it from Miss Dior Cherie, the 2005 version. Could it be the sandalwood? Then I will make sure to avoid it in the future...

Siv7Stars

The black rubber detail is totally out of place, what is it doing here? If the neck needed to be longer why not just elongate the gold stem? That detail alone would've probably resulted in increased sales as this would be more of an aesthetically pleasing ornament. Generic caramel, nothing memorable to me but it's ok on skin. This one absolutely needs testing on skin more so than anything else I've ever tried, on cardboard strips it smells absolutely disgusting for some reason.

Soofiya

This is freaking delicious I want to eat my hand!
I love gourmands and luna is definitely a gourmand.so warm and sweet like caramel syrup.yummm.fruits are there but not as dominant as nina apples.also florals stand in shadow.caramel, immortal and licorice are what I get the most
I won't call it a simple or childish gourmand,l can't think like that when a fragrance has such a dominant licorice and immortal note, licorice gives it a dark and delicious burnt undertone and immortal gives it a touch of special powdery dryness.so for me luna is a modern gourmand with a little of mysterious dark and naughty charm.yes it's just a little but it's still there
As time passes vanilla shows up more and more and it gets softer.I can easily see manifesto gene in it.more like manifesto's golden flanker but I prefer luna,as it's younger, less heavy and not that woody
Silllage is good specially at first and longevity passes six hours
Can't talk about a crazy love but I definitely like it a lot.it's addictive

gabbigeo

To me this smells like Luna Blossom, just a little dirtier, in a good way. I really love both though I'm not a fan of the original Nina. I love it from start to finish (as with Blossom) but this is better for fall weather with the caramel-dipped pear scent, which to me is fairly subtle, not overpowering, which is great because I don't care a whole lot for super sweet caramel scents, they often come across as too sickly sweet and often artificial, like you showered with a seasonal caramel handsoap almost. But this, this is beautifully balanced, must be the immortale because it's a unique scent and I have a ton of fragrances, none with immortale. When it's first applied I can definitely catch the orange blossom and the berry notes with just a hint of citrus, I wouldn't have been able to tell it was lime and tangerine specifically but the immortale, caramel and pear come through pretty quickly and add to the beauty of the orange blossom, although the berry fades pretty quickly on me which is disappointing because it's a beautiful note in the perfume, but still, I absolutely love it, just want to keep spraying it on for those top notes! The dry down is almost soapy, definitely powdery but still beautiful with the vanilla, sandalwood and musk with just a hint of licorice, which makes even the dry down unique among my collection of perfumes as I don't care much for licorice and have tended to avoid it. In fact, I almost didn't get this perfume because of it (together with the caramel and the citrus, I wasn't too sure) but I loved Luna Blossom so much I had to try it and I'm glad I did! I think the other notes turn the licorice into something much more sensual. I'm so so glad I gave this one a shot, it was a gamble blind buy and it is quickly becoming my go-to scent this fall.

AnitaHendricks

Sweet caramel is the most dominant note! There are sensual florals too. The fruity notes add for some light freshness. It's not too warm or heavy. There's some lightness like all Nina Ricci apples have. It's nice!

SailorV

Sweet and sticky caramel is the most noticeable note in Luna from the start to the end. Licorice is also quite dominant and pushes the caramel in a darker, heavier, slightly burned direction. I can barely detect any of the fruity and floral notes until the licorice calms down after a few hours and gets replaced by some vanilla that finally softens the scent. Sticky and burned sweetness overpowers everything else in the top and heart.

Overall this is an okay simple gourmand to my nose, but it's not smooth enough and a bit forgetable. Luna doesn't smell bad if you like those sweet notes, the drydown is pleasant enough, but it doesn't have the certain something that makes a perfume special to me. Also quite linear.

trabuquera

File under: Surprisingly Pleasant. It's a gentle, inoffensive, mass-market sweet thing made mostly of caramel and vanilla, but not quite as dull or as cloying as that might sound. I usually loathe sweet generic scents but this was ... OK ... when sprayed lightly, with juuuuust enough woodiness to keep it from being terminally boring. For anything of this kind to be even wearable for me is quite a coup so anyone who does like forgiving, girly sweet things may even find it exciting. Longevity not great, though - gone in 4h for me. Would never buy an FB of this, but it's broadly, blandly, all right.

raiza1990

On me, it is mostly caramel with a country touch (maybe the mix of the berries and the immortelle?). It is well made, it is not sickening, it has appeal. It is not very original, but apart from that, i don't have anything negative to say about it. sillage is ok, longevity too. It is a quality product.

Cmed

My favourite of all the ninas I've tried. There's an element to it that I've always felt was lackinf from the original. Like its filled in a gap. I enjoyed this from beginning to end, which is unusual for me. Each hour was a suprise and I imagine it would layer well. It takes you on a journey through the day but there's no abrupt changes. To me it's on the sweet end of the scale, so avoid if that isn't for you, but it's not overly sweet and theres plenty of other facets to enjoy

briones

I don t think is like manifesto. I could smell it the whole day on my skin. Love it.

briones

opium black and si gave me nausea. i do adore this, subtle. new fave.

Wolfwood

The pretty bottle caught my eye instantly and the name Luna conjured up a mysterious ethereal perfume.
How wrong I was. It is yet another over sweet perfume heavy on the vanilla. It smells like dozens of others. A fit in with the current fashion type of perfume but not for anyone wanting to smell unique.

blueviolet

YSL Manifesto in a different bottle.
Not just similar. Exactly the same.

jamiehammond1980

Love it I got this purley because its naked after my dog and I just love that pear note almost get a cross between pear drop and a stopped dessert pear I don't get the toffee note but I do get the woods in the day down and I get some incense but not as much as I would like so for that I give it 8.5/10

Soutty123

I tried this today with fairly low expectations given the reviews and was very pleasantly surprised.

This is the sort of fragrance that I expect from Lolita Lemicka, unusual and whimsical. I fell in love with it straight away. When I first sprayed it I thought it was too light to be worth buying but then I found myself getting lovely little wafts all afternoon, maybe that's part of the magic. It does look and smell like a magical perfume.

lou hotchkiss.knives

With a name as esoteric as Luna, the last thing you expect at first whiff is that fresh, solar scent of citrus fruits. What the hell- zingy, sherbet notes ? How is that even remotely celestial ?
And then it dawns on you. There is a funny little magic to "Luna". Granted, it is the witchcraft of teenage witches, but it's not devoid of sassiness. This lovely little potion cleverly takes you on an olfactory journey though the lunar cycle. The top notes are bright like the young, waxing moon- this is Diana, the virgin moon-goddess, as she emerges over the horizon line. The middle notes- gourmand caramel and pear- are softer and more rounded, evocative of the plenitude of the full moon. We are entering the realms of a somehow more nurturing moon goddess, the kind that receives offerings of warm cakes on her altar.
As the fragrance settles, the bottom notes - liquorice, sandalwood, vanilla- descend into more heart-felt sorcery. Here's your night scent_ heavier and more sensual. Don't be fooled, that sexy young witch dancing in the dark of the Moon may appear a bit ditzy, but she is still a serious seeker.
The bottle is beautiful. The apple is that of youth and temptation; deep blue for the night sky, round like the full moon. Luna does not have Nina's effortless, flawless elegance; instead she conjures another kind of young woman-more rebellious, arty, and street wise.

Best worn by : the characters of "The Craft" on a coven meeting night.
Reminiscent of : Angel and weirdly, Flower Bomb. But with a dash of Teen Spirit.
Verdict : Interesting, but could have been more daring; as a result, it is more faddish than epic.

pauroj

is really fresh i don't get any caramel juts a sharp citrusy smell , not really my cup of tea is just too bland

Iloveperfume.ir

Yesterday I Tried it in a mall and first I didn't like it.I smell burn caramel and citrus fruits.sweet and boring but after some time it change to something sweet but very interesting. At first I was thinking that it is for child girls.caramel and fruits like Victoria secrets and viva juicys but then I smell woody notes and something powdery,a little bitter but also delicious.this woody, vanilla, caramel, mysterious powder was very interesting and not for kids.this blue apple is very different from red and pink apples. longevity was very good.I wish to get it as valentine gift so I wish that my boyfriend reads this

I purchased some cosmetics and the sales person gave me a variety of samples, including this absolutely delicious perfume. I know when I've found a fantastic perfume; I get so wrapped up in the fragrance that it envelops me and the outside world seems to melt away. There are perfumes I have that I really like but only a few transport me away with their fragrance. I was quite surprised that I LOVE this fragrance. Especially since it starts out sweet and I'm not a fan of syrupy sweet (yuck) scents. It seems as though the majority of the newer perfumes are like this. Absolutely no mystery or depth. Just icky, icky sweet. The sweet top notes of this fragrance are tolerable, especially once you get past them, you're in for a delectable experience. A wonderful perfume that surprisingly has sensual mid and base notes.

It does not smell at all like La Vie Est Belle, which is an absolutely disgusting fragrance, thank goodness! If you don't like sweet fragrances, you may still want to give this scent a try. Any perfume needs to be applied to the skin (in a small amount) and allowed to develop for at least 30 minutes, to determine if it suits your individual body chemistry. To me, this fragrance is similar to Guerlain's My Insolence, which is another fragrance I find to be yummy.

Rhairis

I do not think it's super sweet, no.
In the output a diluted Poison Girl (EDP), and in the evolution a soft caramelo, incarcerated and delicate in the style colonies for babies.

HeavyBeatsUK

It smells the same as all the other sweet scents that have been coming out for the past few years.

Orpheus

@STARISH: I totally agree with you. This fragrance smells like Manifesto; the only difference is that this one is less overwhelming.

IkuraGirl

At first, I was overwhelmed by the sweet caramel overload of this juice, almost to the point of giving up on it altogether. However, after letting it settle for about an hour, a soft, woody, absolutely velvety scent developed on my skin. And it's this smooth vanilla and woody mix (ha, ha, that sounds a bit naughty) that convinced me to purchase it.

Is it sweet? Yes. But boring? Not to me.

About its longevity: I can smell it on myself the next day, so I find it long lasting.

I don't know that this scent will graduate into my permanent rotation but every day I wear it, I find myself waiting for that special hour when it transforms from sweet to seductive. And it always does.

STARISH

I bought a sample today out of curiosity. When I tested it on my skin, it smelled very similar to Yves Saint Laurent's Manifesto; they are from the same olfative family to my nose. Perhaps, the major difference is that Manifesto has a strongest note of vanilla and black currant, but the simialrity between the two fragrances is evident.
I wanted to discover something different to add to my collection, but I already own Manifesto, so I won't be adding Luna. However, it is a wonderful parfum. If you like sweet fragrances with vanilla and black currant, Luna is for you.

COSMICSCENTS

Another perfume I take off from my "WANT" list :/
I really wanted this perfume since the bottle is so pretty and my dog's name is Luna, but the perfume is soft and similar to other sweet fragrances.

jan24

Like another reviewer mentioned, this is similar to La Vie est Belle, except brighter and less suffocatingly sweet.

Although this scent does not develop as well on my skin as La Vie est Belle (whose deathly sweetness eventually becomes warm and velvety), I don't find it absolutely offensive.

That being said, those who don't like jasmine may easily find that the jasmine becomes overwhelming and clashes in a terrible death with the caramel.

I don't puke at the smell of this, but it's definitely not a favourite.

dinaia

For perfumes like this there should be a "neither like nor dislike" or Indifferent button.
Not too sweet, not too loud featuring the ever present caramel-candy note, it is rarely pleasant and mostly flat and boring. Maybe I'm anosmic to some of it because to my nose it's just a generic caramel sweet smell that goes away pretty fast.
I see the reviews are divided in 3 broad categories: awful, boring or lovely. I'm in the "boring" camp.

MaryAddiction

I don't find this fragrance boring. As a sweet gourmand perfume lover, I think this perfume is very nice. I sprayed this on myself today and it kept getting better and better with time. I loved it so much that I bought it. This fragrance actually evolves and takes some time, not within 5 minutes that it goes from top notes to the bottom notes.
I have smelled Viva La Juicy and that stuff is very juvenile, whereas Luna is more grown up and less sweet.
I do love Black Opium, La vie est belle too, which is nothing like Luna!
Beautiful bottle, I am glad I own this now. Really surprised of all the bad reviews.

I hate to say this.....but I can't stand this. While out shopping I found this sprayed it on my wrist and sleeve and walked around. I ended up buying a different perfume and they gave me a free sample of this with another Nina Fragrance. When I got home I couldn't figure out what the nasty smell I kept smelling was....yeah it was this. I had very high expectations for this I don't think there's a Nina Fragrance I don't love....until this. The notes listed and what it actually smells like are nothing alike. Caramel...NOPE....any of the other notes....nope. it reminds me of those over bearing scents from the 80s or 90s that everyone at the time loved and now thinks is disgusting. I'm so disappointed

Singabera

One word - ethyl malthol. Annoying, faceless, sticky mess.

Tried at perfume shop. Ohh, the packaging may lead you to think it smells berry, maybe fresh, aquatic but it was sooooo sweet I couldn't detect any other notes than sugar sugar and sugar. Why there are so many houses which makes non-characteristic sugarwater fragrances? They smell cheap, stuffy and bad. It's just awfull.

Nina Ricci's apples are all delicious. I could easily wear any of them.

Luna caught my eyes on a perfume counter, the blue bottle and the golden leaf are so beautiful!

The scent itself is as gorgeous as the bottle. It is different from the other apples, more caramel and berries, perhaps a bit more sophisticated and perfect for the colder season.
This will be added in my holiday gift wish list :)

I totally agree with smellofroses, if this is bad, then La Vie Est Belle, Black Opium and Prada Candy are awful!

The juicy berries and the orange blossom in the opening quickly moves on to the caramel of the middle notes, which in turn mixes nicely with the slightly woody vanilla base.

Nina Luna is a soft, kind and uncomplicated fragrance with a demurely sexy edge. La Vie Est Belle, Black Opium and Prada Candy are vamps, Nina Luna is the girl next door. And I like her a lot.

The biggest FLOP of Nina Ricci ever. Where are the glorious years of L'air, Deci Dela, Signoricci and so many MASTERPIECES? What's the matter with all of you guys there? What is this headache inducing syrup, even the insects are going away from it? Whith a tricky bottle you can t make "spring" no more... What a shame.

I was on a shopping spree and it was presented in a department store on a table with other "Fragrances of autumn 2016". I wandered around the long table and tested the various perfumes and was excited to get to Luna. When there, I smelled it and I was convinced that they wanted to create something like La vie est belle, which is the No. 1 seller for ladies in my country. It is such a disappointment! I would have bought it right away if I had liked it as I love Nina and wear it very often, I picked up a box of Balmain Gold Musc instead.

For a supposedly gourmand scent, I find it barely sweet. Something kind of fresh gets in the way... All I get is a soft caramel and vanilla. Definitely missing depth here. Pretty linear from start to finish. Longevity about an hour, weak projection. As much as I loved other Nina Ricci creations (La tentation de Nina/ Deci-Dela), this one is a bit disappointing... even though the bottle is beautiful!

Boring.
Sooooo boring.
All that fruity/berry/candy sweet girlish teenage stuff out there.
Stop doing that!

I tried it today. A huge nothing! This disappeared from my skin without a trace, I can smell nothing...

I don't like it, it's overdone in my opinion. Too sweet and cloying, simply annoying.
All I can smell is sweet and fruity notes, there's nothing interesting or original about that perfume.
There are many better sweet and balanced scents than this one.
Disappointing.

The bottle may be beautiful, although I have seen much nicer ones. The juice I find horrendous, nauseating, and not original at all. Vanilla can be quite cloying, although I think one of the greatest achievements of contemporary perfumery is the way vanilla is used in quite a few fragrances. In this fragrance, though, what I get is a beyond cloying scent I cannot relate to any nice natural note I know, not the least vanilla, although I must say thismtype of scent is very common these days, its not even being original the least. Just to finish, there is more to vanilla than its sweetness, and the sweetness of this fragrance is not even the clean sweetness of vanilla. On the top there is no twist here, contradictions, different facets, sobrepositions, whatever. I guess the staying power is good, but I am not going to test it, because I cannot wait to rub it off.
Thinking a bit more about it, there may be a dark side to this scent which may suit certain occasions or moods and make it appealing.

First the bottle is lovely! darker blue than the pic..the scent is a typical soft sweet gourmand, with a bit more intensity also, like it has been done before but the balance between sweet and florals is nicely done in Luna, so the scent is charmingly pretty..do I find it bold, intense and mysterious? no, I dont...but it smells attractive, and it isn't boring either, it it is better than Viva la juicy, it isnt a cheap sweet vibe, it is like delicate yet more grown up in a sense.it does get that powdery sweetness fairly fast..I like it, it is nicely done, without being mesmerizing! I truly enjoy the blend of florals, with a soft oriental vibe, really quality stuff!

Rhairis

Black leather and blue bottle is very masculine.

My dog's name is Luna, she wants me to buy it right away!:)Love the name, the color, the bottle design and the notes, a must have.

auroramaria

Sounds nice even though it's nothing original but that bottle is a must have

Luna would be a much more daring and appealing fragrance without this omnispresent caramel/praline note. Nowadays there are only perfumes without mystery and elegance.. It's all about sugar, sugar, sugar. Will theses fragrances be one day great classics we are longing for? I doubt...

ezsuzsannaí

The bottle is beautiful, the gold leaves, too, but I hate that black rubber between the two. Oh that rhymes : ))
I was thinking about lately, what kind of apple would come next by Nina and my tip was: a mysterious blue one...and here it is!

lulu169

another Viva La Juicy? (almost same notes..)...boooooring
