Avon has a lot of "frilly" in their DNA but this scent captured my heart in one of their scented Avon tearsheets. I couldn't afford it back then, but this scent owned a chunk of real estate in my brain back then!! Alas, I repurchased "Today" as an adult, along with "Tomorrow" (a more mature, more white floral version of Today).

"Today" is so much more than a white floral. As someone who's not super into tuberose, I dont think this is tuberose-heavy. It may lean a little mature to today's youthful scents, but this is not anywhere near as mature as No. 5 or even Avon's "Rare Pearls". It might be closer to the realm of Clinque's "Happy" (although Happy smells quite different).

This scent is so pleasant and friendly. Very approachable and versatile - date-friendly, office-friendly, great for family gatherings... its almost a little fruity and a little amber-y.

Flirty. Classy. Playful. A little bit more sexy in the dry down.

I wish we saw more cactus notes being used! This is a unique one from Avon 👌

Marta_Regina

Romantic, enveloping, floral fragrance. Enchanting, subtle, and sweet, intimate, close to the skin. Elegant and classic.

IVamp

One of my all-time favorites for spring and summer. Absolutely the best one by Avon, and one of the best perfumes you can buy for 15-20 eur. The scent and the performance seem much more luxurious and expensive than it actually is. A warm, sunny, and abundant white flower garden in early summer. The opening is a bit grassy green but it quickly dries down to a sweeter and more flowery scent. It radiates light feminine energy, soft, gracious, ripe, and harmonic. Always gets me compliments from men. Good for both everyday use and special occasions. Sillage is medium to strong, longevity is decent - about 4h on skin, longer on clothes and hair. If you like white florals, it's a safe blind buy or good as a gift. I have been re-purchasing it for more than a decade and I never get tired of it.

I wore this when I was 17-18. It was gifted to me. I remember thinking that it's a bit too mature for my age back then, but I still wore it because there was something special about it. It was strong and it lasted a long time. I've also never smelt something like it before. I'd describe this scent as green, almost sour white florals that become sweeter on the drydown.

HeidiLynn

I enjoy many Avon fragrances and realized I may have missed something good by passing on this for years. Many white florals don’t work with my chemistry. And years ago I’d tried Tomorrow from this line and not cared for it, so I think I made some assumptions about Today. A recent fragrance sale made me take a chance on Today, especially after reading some positive reviews and seeing its awards. Overall, I’m not unhappy but it’s not the glorious beauty I had hoped for.

It’s a white floral that smells very lily upon first application. I get Easter lily and lily of the valley; I do not smell tuberose (no spiciness nor fruity/grapiness), no orange blossom nor freesia. Later, the thought crosses my mind “This is like Haiku crossed with Rare Pearls” but the notes don’t match, so that may be my imagination. It’s a cool but not shrill white floral, very pleasant and feminine. Not overbearing or too strong, it’s an easy to wear fragrance. I simply don’t get distinct notes, or maybe I’m not familiar enough with the notes listed. It lasts about 2-4 hours, with faint wafts of scent up to 6 hours. Sillage is for hugs, not to fill an elevator. Wearing it in cool fall weather; maybe it needs warmer spring or summer days to shine. I’m not sorry I bought it, it’s a nice addition to my wardrobe. The bottle is heavy, feels comfortable and weighty in my hand, and catches the eye on my dresser.

Pavleena

Probably the most luxuriously smelling Avon fragrance. If you want a strong but fresh white floral and you are on a budget, you may want to try this one.

It starts juicy green (cactus note?) with hints of white flowers. In about 30 minutes the green note disappears and the fragrance gets sweeter and floral. Tuberose and orange blossom rule the drydown which lasts about 6 hours before turning into a skinscent.

I like to wear it in Spring but it smells good all year.

Nóra Lilia

I really like this scent, it actually reminds me of Zara Amalfi Sunray. Citrusy, bright, feminine. It creates a happy scent boubble. It is softer then Amalfi S., it's more sophisticated.

whiteorchid23

I got this one as a gift. I wore for like three times.
It's a strong perfume, in my opinion it's perfect for winter. I liked it but not much. It's a perfect gift for and older person.
And by the way, it might cause headache. Especially during summer.

Andreea2906

I recently received this perfume as a gift. At 1st sniff I was like hmmm not bad, not bad at all. For some reason I remembered disliking it as a teenager. The more I smell it the more I realize there's some note in there that keeps me from loving it or wearing it (at the moment) and I have a feeling that's the freesia that is very strong in this perfume. I will give it another try when it's cooler outside. I feel that this is an awesome perfume option for spring time.

Ps. I keep seeing in comments people mentioning honeysuckle..I cannot smell any traces of honeysuckle in there..wish I could 😁

michellejesuslima

Saudades define!

Nataliemarie

Beautiful Blend of Honeysuckle, Tuberose, Orange Blossom & Lily of the Valley. Without that Neroli twist that can get weird in some perfumes, or where the Tuberose is too loud. This is just beautiful. A Creamy whote floral & I do not find this overpowering, however I am a light sprayer. One if I'm home, MAYBE 3 if I was going out somewhere you WANT to project. I hope Avon keeps this one forever. They have had a few over the years that just knock it out of the park, this is one of them. Makes ME want to be an Avon Lady. Do they even have those anymore? They did when I was growing up :).
Don't let the first note *Freesia* scare you. I dont even like Freesia & I can't pick it up here.

Serr_

I was gifted this perfume on my birthday a few years ago. Since it’s on heavier side, I have worn it to a few occasions here and there. I have made a dent on this one if that tells you anything.
This is a white floral, tuberose heavy scent through and through!
It might not be for everyone, but if you are looking to dip your nose into a white floral scent I would suggest this, it’s on the sweeter side and a little woody at the end!
This made me fall in love in with tuberose!

Dem0nic.Peach

I bought this on a whim after smelling a sample from my Avon Rep. (The sample smelled somewhat nice!)
Upon receiving, I just really cannot enjoy it.
It's strong especially for what you pay, so it's good for those who like a low budget perfume that fills a room.
I just feel it's just a very mature, outdated scent (reminds me of old suncream and watery succulents) and it's just not for me.

terenzigirl

Every time I wear this perfume, people around me ask me which perfume I wear. No one can guess it's Avon. It's really layered and complex, but all I know is that it's beautiful, intriguing and alluring. I can't even describe all the notes, but trust me when I say it's fancy and chic.

Seriously affordable! If you're looking for a new signature scent that won't break the bank, this is it. Get ready to feel like a fancy woman without spending your entire paycheck.

Dori002

Ugh, I tested it a few times. I had mini samples, so I could really have the opportunity to explore every aspect of this scent and I find it very outdated, cheap and medicinal. It smells nothing like the notes listed here I can only smell cheap lily of the valley. It becomes more and more synthetic on skin through the dry down. I don't want to hurt anyone as scents can be very different for everyone, I just want to add my personal opinion here.

cocodust

Had high hopes for this one but disappointed 😕 I get initially a mainly honeysuckle scent but after that I couldn’t tell you and there is a slightly hard woody note which I don’t love. For me the far and away line is much better. Typically my partner said you smell nice when he never comments on my perfumes I think are much nicer/preferred!

Jordan 99

I couldn’t resist and have to get it after reading all positive reviews here and on Amazon. Very tricky to describe, it’s not typical white floral, it has this unusual sweetness reminds me of Neblina from Yves Rocher, the same type of sweetness. I don’t think is old lady smell as many people described, it’s very unique not typical modern scent, definitely not safe blind buy, luckily I like it and it’s growing on me, I love tuberose and I can recognize it here, but it has this interesting sweetness, it’s not sugary or fruity sweetness it’s flowery pollen/raw honey sweetness. Definitely not mainstream scent, but if you’re looking something interesting, unique, warm and fresh, try it. I don’t wear it daily, but there are days I crave it, it’s addictive.

mermaidshimmer

This is super gorgeous and smells so much more expensive than it actually was.
I have had people asking what this perfume is!!

I LOVE IT! And will wear it more often.

SnowIce

Absolutely fabulous!
This is really a special gem and should be much more appreciated! TTA Today is soooo beautiful, well done, enchanting. The fragrance has an original and recognizable composition. I can easily compare it to some expensive and famous fragnances, like Givenchy L`Interdit. They are not the same, but they both have some kind of softness and appealling delicacy.

Today is feminine and magnetic floral scent, and it last many hours. Worth of money. I have 3 bottles!

RachelMaria

An absolute bomb of flowers and cleanliness. Its strength is in its potency I believe. If Avon ever diluted it, it would loose its character. A little goes a long way and lasts very well. Daytime floral freshness in a bottle, especially when worn with a crisp white shirt. I spray 1-2 times to the midriff so as not to overwhelm.

Nataliemarie

One of the best Appropriate for ANYYYthing Florals I own. I have repurchased this for YEARS!!

NuttyNut

My teacher used to wear this when I was in school and I was amazed by the sillage of it. I bought it myself, but not very drawn to use it.

Fleurie20

Second the review by Helidon. This is not a bad perfume by Avon per se, but it is way, way overhyped. I am a white floral gal and typically like the majority of perfume from Avon. But something about Today makes it smell in-the-face synthetic and headache-inducing. I gave myself 1 month of frequent usage to see if it would grow on me, it didn't.

helidon

Overrated. A blind buy based on rave reviews here in Fragrantica, tuberose & cactus combo sounded interesting. When I sprayed it on my skin: a bouquet of white flowers with cactus on top. Dries up into a soapy cactus-aquatic-citrusy thing with a hint of generic flower perfume on my wrist. The tuberose-cactus might work for some -and the idea is fab - but for a tuberose lover, the tuberose is too diluted. My husband tried it on his wrist when I said to him I want to get rid of this perfume. He said he can wear it; he said it is like a basic men's cologne with a citrus note on top. Indeed, it was - on his skin, Avon Today turned into a unisex ok but not fabulous citrus - aquatic fragrance :-D. - A classy concoction, though. However, not for me; my husband can have my bottle.

truffles

A light, sparkling pure floral. It smells a little like fresh honeysuckle flower to me.

lauravladelena

My teacher wore this when I was young and I later purchased it myself in my adult life. For me it smells like a woman, a perfect scent to wear at the office, for me it's radiates "put together"

chlorodream

A very nice classic floral. I think I’ve smelled it before I bought this sample actually - regardless it smells like high class soap, like a lot of other things, but with fantastic performance too.

Alciia

Very elegant, office appropriate, clean young woman smell, got few complements, good lasting power :D
Personally I will not repurchase because there is many many more interesting smells around.

Marzag

This fragrance is a very strong like for me. I don't love it for some reason, but I do like it. I think it's beautiful, classy, timeless, and elegant. Today is not a weak fragrance. It is long-lasting and has good sillage. It seems to be a safe, elegant fragrance that should please many people and it would make a nice gift. But I'm just not excited about it, and I don't know why that is.

June venus

Very nice: not a "pungent sweet floral" despite the cactus😅. Among all the notes I recognize only the freesia, cedar, musk, the latter in my opinion, makes this soapy scent. I only use it in late spring, not when temperatures are still low, or in the summer, with the heat and too hot. On my tough skin four hours This fragrance is very present but discreet, kind, gentle. I also feel a little 'water. I definitely will buy again

Tinabill

Engaging versatile floral.
“Today” smells like the huge floral bouquets of the 80s in my country; filled with tuberose and strelizia (bird of paradise)! Stunning exotic floral scent with green sappy nuances .
Good job from Avon. On par, if not better, than many designer florals out there.
Others have come and gone, but this beauty has been a staple in my collection for years and many to come.😍

Astrid89

Well, this one I call gold in a bottle.
I wear it alone when I feel casual or I mix it with other parfumes when I need extra powdery note.
At first I smell a lot of freesia. I love that combination of fresh, spicy and powdery notes. It's very intense. A little bit later you can smell other flowers and It's more soft. At the end you can smell mix of musk and wood (I don't smell any fresh notes or rose).

It's very long lasting with a good sillage at start and moderate later on. Blends very well with a lot of other parfumes but have enough self confidence to "walk alone".
Literally I am in love in all TTA collection but this one is a special one (mother of all).

If you buy it you will not regret your money.

Izabela2705

I bought the 10 ml purse spray purely of a sentimental reason. My mum used to have it on her bathroom shelf and being mid 20 then, I remember smelling it on her. Since her passing almost 10 years ago, I forgot all about it until I started looking up avon perfume on here. This sparked the idea to buy the little bottle and see if I remembered the smell.
It arrived today and as soon as I sprayed on my wrist, it felt like my mum was hugging me again! It's slightly old fashioned smell to my nose but not as 'old' to exclude it from wearing and I'm sure these compositions will come back when everyone has enough of the sweetness which many of the current fragrances have. It's without aldehydes which I can't stand so it's acceptable for me to wear. Saying that, I will keep and use it on days when my mum's hugs are needed. When I run out, I might buy some more.

EDIT:
My previous comment that this is slightly dated - It think I rushed in my judgement, I should have given it more time. The more I wear it, the more I love it. After finishing the 10ml bottle I purchased 50ml! It is very feminine and flowery but not in an offensive way. I would class it as romantic perfume. It goes through different stages from the initial spray and as the time passes, I find myself catching different whiffs which render it more interesting. This gem will stay in my collection, not only for its sentimental value but also for the quality of the smell it gives. It's a definite keeper and I really want to take the 'dated' word back and replace it with 'timeless'. This just goes to show that some perfume need time to fall in love with - this is one of them.

Lalouve<3

Beautiful classy perfume that pulls a very natural orange flower and freesia and the combo reminds a very natural gardenia scent that is mesmerising- somewhere in there there is a faint citrusy note in the back that grounds it and compliments the white flowers.

It projects beautifully and feels really refined. Had I smelled it blindly, I wouldn't have guessed it is an avon perfume. Thankfully it doesn't have that second class generic identity most avon perfumes have. If you love white flower smelling perfumes this one is a must and a safe blind buy in my opinion.

alatchka

I cant remember how I heard of this frag...a friend?...a relative?...but most likely a mention here on Fragrantica as a less expensive option for another fragrance I have been lusting for. And what is that luxury fragrance I've been lusting for? I can't remember, lol! Oh, this FibroFog really has me jotting down notes for myself...remember this, remember that!!! Anyhoo, whatever the reason behind me buying a very reasonable bottle off of eBay is a winner! This fragrance is an intoxicating blend of white flowers (probably my favorite type of frags, but not exclusively). However, this is much different than any white flower frag I own. And I own at least 50 different ones. This is not overpowering, yet the longevity and silliage is amazing. This is not sickeningly sweet as some white flower frags tend to be...it's soft and lovely. It may be an Avon fragrance, which is not one of my favorite fragrance lines...can't even think of one Avon fragrance I own, except Sweet Honesty as a teen only because my mom tried her hand at becoming an Avon lady in the 70s. This lovely fragrance smells like luxury. Even the bottle looks luxe. Run, don't walk, and buy yourself a bottle. If it is discontinued, hit "the bay" and pick one up while prices are still reasonable. With this current Government, the word on the streets is that we are heading into (or are already in the midst of) hyper inflation. If you will be forced to cut back on extravagances, lose jobs, have your home taken away, forced to live in a cardboard box under an over pass...at least you can do so smelling lovely. And btw, I pray every day that all the things I mentioned previously doesn't happen and if it does, we stay strong and united as a Country and for all humanity.

Just remembered the very high end, expensive frag this one reminds me of... Estee Lauder's Private Collection Tuberose and Gardenia. It's is a bit of a powerhouse, you must use a light hand. But Avon's Today is a softer version...and a much less expensive alternative. Heck, if your vanity is a show place, fill your EL bottle with Avon's and no one will be the wiser. Unless of course you are best buddies with the scent's creator, lol!

correspondencepersonal

This was referred to me by my Avon representative that went on and on about how many compliments she had received while wearing this perfume. This is a high pitched soprano chord fragrance which leaves a beautiful fragrance trail. The first time I wore this, I passed a group of ladies standing on the sidewalk outside a shopping store; they all turned their heads in unison and one of the ladies asked "what are you wearing" - I told her Avon's "Today" - and another lady in the group chimed in and said "that's a wonderful tuberose perfume on you"!

Linda was RIGHT!
This is a fabulous perfume on, it draws compliments like a magnet!

---------

This is linear and is a basic chord expression which just softens as it wears down. It doesn't change notes within the chord as it is passing through phases of wear; it is consistent from start to finish. For this reason, this would be a great fragrance to layer.

This adds a unified high note with a blend that most closely resembles tuberose, but has a number of different florals. This is a great buy, reasonably priced.
I will always keep Today and Rare Pearls in my rotation.
Both are great!

-------------

This is a similar fragrance to Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia - they are both fragrance chords which come across like a Monet impressionistic version of the floral they represent. This sprays like an aldehyde/ozonic cloud - and would be great to layer with other fragrances.

---------------

If you are drawn to "Today" and enjoy the tuberose notes in this, try Avon's Rare Pearls -- which is a slightly lower chord (more of an alto range) with a beautiful resonance in the same type of floral genre as "Today". Both are compliment magnets ; )

Updated August 17th 2022:

Today is actually much smoother than I remember - it is quite tame compared to Central Park West which has more of a biting icy edge to it (there are times when CPW goes a bit too bright/sharp where you feel as though you are getting almost an ice cream headache from it; but this is when you first spray it)... CPW is more in the rafters, much more soprano - almost another octave above Today. Today is a much more gentle, soft expression of tuberose... it is more like the Monet painting type impression of tuberose. (CPW has a crisper bite to it). Today is much easier to wear for every day wear.

Today and Rare Pearls are very close expressions --
Rare Pearls is more complex, with different blends of white florals -- whereas Today is more of a single note expression of tuberose. These two are very similar - together they could be perceived as a "signature collection" because they are so close that it would take an expert to tell them apart, unless you were directly comparing them side by side. Today is definitely much more tuberose... and Rare Pearls is more of the white floral blend. But really, they are both a nice alto expression of white florals -- very close.

------------

Several people have said that this is underrated -- keep in mind, this perfume won a major award: This perfume is the winner of award FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Women`s Private Label 2005.

Anomis_di_Fresia

This one is actually pretty underrated!
I don’t find it generic at all, I would recognize it immediately. It has very good longevity and sillage and it’s a pleasant tuberose sent through the added 🌺 hibiscus and 🍊orange blossom. The musky - woody base feels airy and all in all it makes a great spring scent! I used to have a bottle back in 2010 when people use to always ask me what I was wearing, telling me it smells great, so I recently rebought it as it’s really affordable as well!

nytx16

I have been wearing this fragrance intermittently since it was first introduced and it is my go to fragrance and never fails to attract. I have had men and women comment and ask me what I was wearing, on the train, on the plane, at the office, on the street or just question what smell so good in here. Maybe it's just great with my body chemistry, but it outperforms my $200+ fragrances for all day compliments and the "you smell so good, what are you wearing?" Works great for me!!

goblinbells

Gift from my girlfriend's mother (she's an Avon lady :)). I thought I was going to have to be polite about it, because for the first few minutes it smells exactly like my grandma's bathroom (I suspect my grandma also buys Avon). Smells like over-the-top gardenia to me, but I wouldn't really know. After 10-15 minutes it settles down and is completely wearable, though still a bit old-fashioned. I'll keep wearing it, though; I think I like it.

toni64

Wore this yesterday my husband loved it. I've had this bottle for a while wasn't sure whether I should wear it or not as it's so strong. But it's lovely just don't spray too much on

tonkatsu335

I was curious about this one as it is said to be similar to my beloved Givenchy Le Bouquet Absolu and L'Artisan La Chasse aux Papillons.

I happened to have the chance to try it, but I didn't like the smell of this one.

I can sense similar notes, but it is very different from the light and beautiful scents of the first two, it is very strong and makes me feel sick.

Katiestark

I actually kind a like this when I bought it. However, just as most agree with me, the cactus up Kinda kills it for me. I was expecting something a little sour but it just smelled like fresh cut grass or a funky rotten plant. I’m trying to sell it off but no one seems to want it and I can see why. The Magnolia helps it out a little and thankfully it seems to fade away as it wears off throughout the day but still. The cactus sap just isn’t it. I can’t say this, it does last a while. So if you do you like this fragrance or have smelled it before and was thinking about buying it then go ahead. It lasts up to six hours on my skin and I have dry skin. I’m sure it last maybe even a little longer one more oily skin

RosaMilena

What a little gem this is! Opens with flash of bright white freesia and cactus sap, then the fresh non-indolic green tuberose + creamy stephanotis start to glow along with the rest of the exotic florals and a light handed non-waxy/oily orange blossom. This is great for summer and holds up beautifully in hot weather, never wilting or becoming sour, flat, or rancid. Perfectly clean, sweetness derived only from the fresh florals, not screechy or too heady as inoffensive office wear. The cactus and strelizia make it smell unusual to my nose and more expensive that it actually is. If someone can't smell these accords it is because they are anosmic to them. Beautiful, clean, elegant, I love it.

Nirvana_Glassmenagerie

Got this as a gift. I hated it with a passion at first spritz. I found it to be overpowering with a strong alcohol start and then strong sweet note (I hate sweet). The dry down mellowed out the sweet part to a mild musk which I could tolerate better. The sweet and musk are dominant throughout and I could not really smell any other notes.
Sillage and longevity are ok, but despite its already being a relatively affordable fragrance, I still find it overrated and overpriced as opposed to some other of Avon's better-performing fragrances.

vgedin

Creamy fresh honeysuckle + freesia + musk. By no means the greatest fragrance on the market but for the price point it is pretty remarkable. It isn't complex but really quite pleasant. If you aren't too conservative about the number of spritzes it also lasts well, with decent projection for 4-5 hours. Generic, yes. But it is versatile and pretty. I'd give it a thumbs up, though won't say this is a must have.

crazykid

To me this is straight up honeysuckle. Some days it doesn't bother me, on others I straight up hate it.
A bit better on warmer days, during winter it gets sharp, and not in a good way.
It was a blind buy, I wouldn't repurchase

Lady Parfum

This fragrance is so special to me.
A scent of clean, sweet white flowers.
Very sophisticated.

Hidelle

This was my first perfume as a teenager and I keep buying it each time. It is so fresh, feminine and clean. I love orange blossom and this perfume is orange blossom in a bottle, but it interacts with people differently. I had people complimenting and asking me for the name of this perfume. But some of them just like it on me for some reason. Overall it smells like a high end perfume for a fraction of the price.

Mona708

I got a perfume set that had miniatures of this, Tomorrow, and Always as a gift from my mother in college. Even though I liked all three scents, I liked this the best of all because of its bold but not overwhelming floral notes. I wound up using it all after college, though. This is another great year-round scent that works well for all but the most casual situations.

berrycool1211

This perfume is delicate, clean and sweet. A floral soapy fragrance. It's beautiful and feminine. The scent reminded me of Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue though they smell different. This perfume was given to me by my sister. I like it very much. Overall it's a nice daily wear fragrance.

muckata_11

This is my bed time fragrance. I usually use it in the autum or winter. It reminds me of the season when the lindens are blooming. It’s sweet and warm. It’s unique!

Lixa

Wow! A freesia perfume indeed! Beautiful! Floral, feminine; good persistence. Bonus: You get more than you pay for. Love! One of my current favorites over many high-end fragrances

MoonGirl

One of the two Avon fragrances I return to time and time again.

Classic, stunning, white floral with plenty of creamy warmth, making this an ideal scent for every occasion, any month of the year both day or night. The heavy glass bottle and the juice inside appear very elegant and high end designer.

This is affordable luxury; confidence in a bottle. I've often had people stop me in the street to admire it and ask what I'm wearing!

correspondencepersonal

Spring in a bottle - type fragrance. Floral notes are bright and unapologetically optimistic. This is a bold burst of floral. If you are not really a floral person, this is probably NOT going to be your thing. However, if you really love florals - try this, definitely!

The tuberose is extremely bright and extraverted in this fragrance. It starts strong, the fragrance has about 2 hours of wear where it is noticeable on my skin, then becomes a skin scent.

I sprayed this to see if anyone noticed the new fragrance I was wearing. I walked past a group of ladies standing in line chatting. Apparently the breeze caught the perfume and it wafted in their direction.

Every head turned.
The ring leader perked up and said - "what perfume do you have on?"

That told me everything I need to know about "Today"!

---------

This is fresh, clean, fun, happy -- just what I needed to pick my spirits up after this Covid 19 began!

---------

This will definitely need refreshing, buy a tester set or a purse atomizer. This lasts about 2 hours, then needs a refresh.

This is gorgeous. I guess the cactus give that unique, unmistakable note, green and milky at the same time that leads me crazy. It is like the sap of a succulent cactus. You can't actually smell It, but is the best description that I can give. STUNNING. After a while this green milky note tones down and you can smell more the white flowers, the scent becomes a fresh, clean, feminine, sophisticated scent with this unique note still in the background. Perfect for summer days. It has also amazing performances. In my collection, it is the only one, toghether with Elie Saab perfumes and maybe Olympea that lasts in my skin more than 8 hours. On the clothes until you wash them. It is incredible that this jewel is so inexpensive. The only cheap quality that I can get is when just sprayed, since you do feel the alcohol for a few seconds. Beside that, is a masterpiece. I was out with my fiance that asked what was this wonderful flower smell. He could not get the nose off me xp. Bought as 10 ml sample and already repurchased in full bottle. I think it will be a constant in my collection.

nyteshade

Second review:
Tried this on a hot summer day and wow, this is lovely! Who knew one could actually perceive a watery note?! It's like drinking ice water in a fancy crystal goblet while surrounded by a gorgeous assortment of white florals overlooking a green topiary garden. This is just so damn classy!

nyteshade

This scent makes me smile...not many do. It reminds me of a spring sun shower. It's elegant and breezy. I reach for this when I don't want a sweet, fruity, or citrus fragrance, which appears to be more often now.

I first wore this around 2005 as my daily scent and it was fresh and beautiful. I recently bought it again after all these years and initially after opening the box, it kinda had a sour note that I don't remember...I thought it may have been reformulated for the worst. I put the bottle away for about a month with intent to get rid of it, then stumbled on it again. The sourness was gone, and it smelled just like the same well blended crisp, fresh, soapy white floral that I remembered! I'm back to loving this scent and wearing it almost daily again. It was so strange...maybe this scent is like a red wine and needs to breathe a little first. So glad I tried it again, this is a masterpiece and a love for me!

bel.gravia

I was so excited to try Today, a so praised floral bouquet.... I really hope my bottle is simply gone bad. I bought it on ebay, it was sealed so it cant be that it's been opened for too long. My goodness I hope when I try a new Today bottle it will smell like all the pretty things you mention.
The bottle I have smells just extremely strong, bitter, floralish but the flowers aren't fresh or nice at all.

Elynthia

Absolutely gorgeous perfume! At least on my mom. Her skin always makes perfumes smells so beautiful and it keeps the sweetness of scents. My skin on the other hand makes it turn bitter, which makes me sooo sad as I looove how this smells on my mom and I wish I could wear it too, but it just doesn't work.

When I smell it, I imagine a powerful classy woman who knows what she wants and you want to follow her through life (mainly because she smells so good lol) but she's not TOO serious to leave out the fun in life.

Such a complex scent with amazing performance for such a low price. Can't beat this avon scent!

Nataliemarie

This is a beautiful Honeysuckle scent to my nose. PLEASE never discontinue this!! I have loved this for years, ever since it came out!

PearlGarden

Have been wearing this for years. Even though it is not one of the expensive perfumes, it certainly 'smells more than it costs'. In my collection I have many perfumes, that cost much more, however, I always am complimented when wearing this one. I haven't found anything that smells even close like this does.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for 'comforting', 'fresh', yet deep and dynamic scents. I believe it can be liked by most of people. It certainly will make one question what smells like this? Because in my opinion, it is rich and complex, yet not musky or heavy- and there is no dominating component in the scent. Blended Perfection.

Seducianne

This is a truly unbelievable perfume. I was doubtful reading all the reviews since I didn’t really appreciate Avon perfumes so much but this left me flabbergasted. Such a sweet, yet fresh elegant white floral. And unique! Freesia soars for me but it’s blended quite well, which keeps it from being too “fizzy” and adds a slightly creamy dimension. It also lasts and lasts, projects and projects! It even stuck to the blanket from my body, after I sprayed in the evening. Didn’t think I would sing such praises to such a “cheapie” but this is really climbing its way through my favorites. The only objection is the first 30 seconds which burn my throat, which is literally the only sign of “cheapness”. But my solution is to spray it on the balcony and run back inside right afterwards :D

Devved

I can't stress the elegance that this perfume radiates. The combination of Freesia and Tuberose is phenomenal. Such a warm and feminine smell. This makes me think of a powerful, tasteful and intelligent woman. Who's walking down the street in a confident stride, turning everyone's head. I feel a sense of rebellion and classiness from it. There is a slight bitterness at the opening and possibly it's what takes the youthfulness away from it. It's not a delicate, flirtatious or playful fragrance. However, I wouldn't say that it is a totally mature smell that your grandmother would adore. I have wore it since I was in my late teens. Definitely a winter/autumn fragrance as it can be a bit too heavy for the summer. However, my colleague once wore it on a chilly summer morning and it was amazing. The longevity and sillage is moderate. Such a revolutionary fragrance from Avon, I haven't been blown away by any other fragrance from Avon.

MoonGirl

A classic. An elegant, opulent, white floral. Great lasting power. Quality piece from Avon.

MediaevalWench66

Re; the reviewer Colourfulmess comment;

"It reminds me of something people wear at a country club or a yacht race. What rich folks wear when they go outside."

Hahahaha - I laughed with a mouthful of coffee and it sprayed everywhere.

notnotevil

It's an intense scent. This is staying in my shelves til I hit mid-30ies. Doesn't feel youthful to me. Otherwise decent for a floral scent

Edit: Two years later and I am now in love with it. Wonderful for warm days, I smell like a garden in bloom. It's very feminine and elegant, lasts quite long and it's mid-20s appropriate after all :)

colorfulmess

Very orange blossom heavy at first, then settles down into a shampoo floral watery concoction. I sense something that was supposed to be cactus, but it comes out more melon-like (I actually don't know what cactus smells like). It reminds me of something people wear at a country club or a yacht race. What rich folks wear when they go outside. I'm sort of on the fence on this one. I love light floraly scents but this might be too dainty and clean. I need something edgier.

RoseGrande

i noticed "bad" reviews don't get very many balloons here, but i find them very helpful, so here's mine. At first it was okay, then i noticed i never really grabbed it that often, after i while i decided to use it as a room spray. That one time i sprayed it behind my fan, i literally got Lysol! I HATE Lysol. So now its up for swap, and i hope this review helps to let people know that this is NOT for everyone.

sarage

Spring, summer and definitely sunrise! These come to my mind after spraying Today on my skin.
Today has a very distinctive smell, it's quite elegant, very floral and very feminine in a traditional way. There is something safe and sound in this fragrance.

I strongly dislike tuberose but love freesia. Something good happens to tuberose here, it doesn't give me a headache!
I can smell the orange flower, it's quite strong here. That is the only sharp element, everything else is soft floral.

When you walk into a room wearing Today, you bring a bouquet of flowers and a ray of light in. That is the impression I get.

Happy to have a bottle of Today.

Nyrahe

Well, to my unfortune, my boyfriend HATES this one with a passion. I don´t think he ever had such a bad reaction on any of my perfumes (except on Grés Cabochard, but here we are on a same boat)

I, on the otherside think that it´s very nice freshly-cutted-flowers kind of a scent. I think it´s name should be Garden. It´s not sweet, just white flowers all around you :) But I admit that it is a liiittle bit synthetic. My mother doesn´t like it either, she said it smells like floor cleaner :D

MediaevalWench66

This is my favourite Avon fragrance ever. Since its release I have been hoarding bottles as I know Avons habit of discontinuing well loved fragrances. As you may imagine I have rather a lot. I did this with Premiere Luxe which is being discontinued. Thankfully my manic hoarding paid off there.

Today is such a gorgeous well blended fragrance. It is like a fresh bouquet of white a yellow flowers. It's quite a heady fragrance probably due to the Tuberose and white lily.

Today certainly competes with the higher end perfumes and its staying power and projection is stunning. It's a fragrance that can be worn any time of the year.

EDIT; July 2019. Book 11 in the UK. In the book Today is featured on page headed "Get it Before Its Gone". Noooooo it's being discontinued! Ladies, if you order the new Today flanker "Celebrate" (its gorgeous) from book 10 as a "back order" from a rep or order it online, there is an offer 'buy any perfume for £10.00 and order a 100ml perfume for £5.00'. A few other perfumes are available in 100ml editions.

Disclosure: I'm NOT an Avon rep (I was 10 years ago), though my best friend is. Sadly she is allergic to perfumes so I get to try them all out.

Elliest

Such a feminine scent. Smells like a bouquet of flowers, fresh. Really well blended. No soapy smell. I definitely like it.

The_Entity

A big fresh bouquet of white flowers around a cactus, which gives this an interesting kick. Good daytime wear for work, spring/summer.

correspondencepersonal

Very similar to my all time favorite perfume - Annick Goutal Eau Du Ciel...

Fresh, clean, upbeat -- wears like a Butterfly!

If you've studied color analysis theory - this registers as being a Spring/Summer type fragrance. The tones in this are very clear, bright, uplifting, optimistic -- and could be worn for any event or to the office.

I love this one!
So glad to have found it!

--------

If you like this one - I recommend also trying Rare Pearls - by Avon.
Another fragrance that I get a ton of compliments on!
Love both!

mrs.Bond

I wear Alien by Thierry Mugler as my signature scent the last 10 years. It makes me feel bold, sexy and very confident. I wore it when I went through divorce with my ex husband (this son of a b***c) and when I met my new husband(oooh.. Big love) , this perfume is very special to me. BUT(now comes the part about Today by Avon) this non expensive perfume by avon here is the only one that drives my man crazy! He never commented on Alien or other sexy fragrances I wear from my collection, until the day I wore Today for the first time.It smells of white flowers, little fresh, musky... just good! Sometimes I don't understand the guys, they seem to like more simple things, of course we wear our perfumes for ourselves but I don't mind when my husband is melting and turning into a crazy man who I can ask for everything. (I hope you understand what I mean, English is not my language)

taureanrage69

From the moment I tested this, I thought this seems like a high-quality fragrance. It smelled like what I thought an expensive perfume would smell like, rather than another cheap offering from Avon. Then I realized it was done by Olivier Cresp, who also made their Bond Girl 007 years earlier, which was also more impressive than other Avons that were out at the time. What I like about Today is it's a bright, energetic and upbeat fragrance. I get the same feel from this as I remember getting from Giorgio many years ago, but with less intensity. It's nice to see less common perfumery notes here like the bird of paradise and butterfly bush. It's definitely longer lasting than most of the current Avon selection. I also love the bottle, which seems like a heavy glass paperweight. My current bottle is almost empty and I'll definitely repurchase, or hopefully get it for Christmas. I'd recommend this above any other current Avon perfumes: one of their all-time greats.

Countrygurl

very classy freesia floral. Similar to Jennifer aniston Lolavie ( which I have ) but Avon lasts a lot longer. Could be used everyday.

Lyla Rose

This is my second review on Today, I think I haven't stated enough how inlove I am with this scent!
Freesia's are by far my most favorite flowers and I've been searching for a realistic freesia scent for quite some time. I can't say how impressed I am with Today from Avon and how much I adore it.
This is one of my favorites 'affordable' scents, and one of my best blind buys ever! It smells like a high quality scent, extremely elegant, not to mention it's very long lasting.

I should have known that Oliver Cresp wouldn't disappoint. Now I want to try the other Avon scents created by him from this line, although I doubt they could be any better than Today.
Today smells like a bouquet of fresh white flowers and the freesia blends perfectly with the tuberose.
It also contains another stunning and underrated flower, stephanotis: a beautiful white flower, also known as Madagascar jasmin flower, often used in bridal bouquets. When I smelled this flower, I was mesmerised by the beautiful and delicate aroma and I'm so glad I own a scent with this special flower in it.
I still believe that Today is one of the most beautiful and underrated scents from Avon. White flowers done right!
Perfect as a year round fragrance, I also believe it could be a great scent for a bride. Well done Avon, Today is a masterpiece!

SweetLadyForOne

I bought a bottle of this back in 2005. It's been buried in my collection, and I forgot how gorgeous the stuff is! I am wearing it today, and it's beautiful. It is strong. But not in a disgusting way. I probably could have gone with a lighter hand. I'm not used to perfumes performing this well. I don't usually care for Flowery floral scents, but this one is just gorgeous. Avon did a great job with this perfume.

violetstorm

im wearing this today & i forgot how much i love this scent...........its one of my fav tuberose scents............i feel avon did a wonderful job with this scent......on me i get a beautiful creamy soft tuberose , sandlewood & the velvety musk - i dont get any of the green notes me - i know they are there but i cant tell - maybe because they are blended so well - so if u dont like green scents dont pass this up cuz u may be like me & it will come off as a beautiful elegant creamy tuberose scent

beautiful floral.......very well done

oh its not strong - it settles down lightly

Sabretoothkitten

I like this but do not love. The top notes/ opening are very pretty, delicate and girlie. I know the notes say freesia and some other flowers but I get mostly honeysuckle and a bit of orange blossom. Yes I get honey and perhaps something fluttery like butterfly bush. I can imagine dancing in a purple gauzy gown in a field with friendly non stinging fuzzy bees.
But! The off thing about this fragrance is it goes from relatively strong to nothing in about 2 hours. Almost as if it has an OFF button. I could smell it nicely up till the 2 hour mark then...it was gone.
Does not smell cheap but does not last on me. I get no drydown.
As Im averse to overspraying I'll just accept the ephemeral nature of this pretty little scent. But I won't buy a full bottle. Shame as I hear most Avons are rather long lasting.
edit: my husband didn't seem too find of this. I think more women will love this fragrance than men.

Fragaria

gtabasso

Glad you mentioned this turning quite ordinary! I had this and loved it at first! Kept sniffing my wrist. It was fresh and vibrant! I kept mine for awhile, not realizing it was the top and middle notes I liked. It always left me unimpressed...even though I liked it a LOT.
Usher's She did the same thing. It was so beautiful to my nose. I still smell the box it's so appealing. But it seemed to dry down into just a church lady smell to me. Not bad, but just "eh, perfume". And I use the term "church lady" because it's most appropriate to not go overboard with the fragrance at church! It isn't a derogatory statement.
Both are far too nice to turn into such a generic scent. I'm glad I'm not the only person that feels this way. I'm not alone! :-)

gtabasso

lovely sweet white floral in the top and wish it had stayed there with tuberose, orange blossom, other interesting florals that read like LOTV and magnolia with musk and some aquatic notes, very bright and fresh in the top then deepens with musk and wood in the middle; dries down to a cheap drugstore fragrance

SeaAnais

Wow, this smells expensive! Originally brought this as a blind buy because I was curious about the freesia, but I am pleasantly surprised. I end up not liking a lot of the avon bottles I buy--Rare Pearls was a disappointment for me, Rare Gold made me feel nauseous, and I didn't like Rare Emeralds.

However, I tend to like Olivier Cresp's perfumes and because of the affordable price tag, I took the risk and brought it. It is a very rich white floral, so if you're not really a fan of florals, you might not like this. My first thought was that it smelled like really fancy soap, in the best way possible. It smells way more expensive than it actually is. I can smell the tuberose, but it's not as overpowering as it is in Rare Pearls, so all the other notes in the composition can get their time in the spotlight as well.

EDIT: This gives me a slightly similar vibe to J'adore--both smell very elegant and are heady white florals. But Today is cleaner and soapier, and is a much better bang for your buck--and this is coming from someone who owns both.

adrienn99

if you like sniffing freesia this is as close as it gets in my opinion to the real thing. Safe for blind and Hulk -ish concrete bang for the buck. Elegant, sophisticated, easy to wear.

zvrkic

I was looking Olivier Cresp perfumes and saw he did perfume for Avon, so I order one. And my God it did not dissapointed me. I loved it. It is perfect for summer, so fresh with character. Also I was never asked more what perfume I am wearing. And when I say Avon jaws are dropped. Everybody loves it. And some of them order this for themselves. :)

Perfume47

I was so happy to discover this perfume!!!!! It reminds me so much of butterfly flower from bath and body works,(which is no longer available). The bottle is really cool and I am very likely to repurchase this!!!!!

Jutamon

I blind bought this based on fragrantica reviews. And for the price and the Fifi award I figured it couldn't go wrong. And it didn't. This is such a beautiful fragrance. It makes you feel like a proper lady. The scent itself is so well blended and quite unique. It somehow makes me think of smelling flowers that comes with a breezy cool air. It's just so so elegant and modest at the same time. I don't think you can offend anybody with this scent. I just got it today so I can't speak much about longevity and compliments from other people, but for me it's a love.

Jillita

Really subtle tuberose, with sharp grassy notes, and a sun warmed flower—like dandelions (the butterfly bush note)— orange blossom, and line dried laundry. There's a nostalgic vintage Coppertone note, too, so that the effect is like the smell of skin after spending a day at the beach. Elegant, and an exceptional bargain at the price.

mirisfrik

It reminds me a lot of Nuxe edp

JenJones28

Love this! This is such a bargain at 20 dollars a bottle! Sweet, light, floral, and inoffensive. Good office scent. Great expensive smelling fragrance if you want to smell like you spent a lot of money but don’t have the budget!

Giselle Viz

I received so many compliments at work today about this perfume. My coworkers said that I smalled expensive. Its such a beautiful fragrance.

TwoTabu

I found this one intriguing based on the description, and seeing gift sets were on offer for less than ten pounds I could hardly refuse. On first spray I get a pretty freesia, nice but nothing to write home about. Then it seems to fade on my skin and I hardly notice it.

But all day long I keep catching a whiff of this remarkable prettiness, a golden floral with a hint of freshness (maybe the cactus sap?) I find myself doing a double take-is that my perfume? I draw it in but it's gone again.

Very glad I got this, though I find myself using the body lotion more than the actual perfume. Perfect for warm sunny days.

Koralanne

One of the prettiest, feminine, warm weather scents I've ever purchased! Very floral and fresh. I think you either love this because it's so well blended and comfortable, or find it disappointing as it is very safe.

PricklyAndHot

Very nice buddleia fragrance!

sweet2mechii

Haha I would honestly buy this one if I didn't feel like I was stealing my aunt's signature scent. It works so well with her body chemistry and it smells so classy, sophisticated, cozy and down to earth. I thought it was one of her expensive perfumes and was surprised when she told me it was by Avon.
Awesome fragrance for a mature woman.

crea11

I don’t understand, the main notes are floral but all I get is a harsh powdery cactus scent and a bit of powder laundry detergent. A very dry scent.

diana_gangan

Somehow, I could never find a perfume that starts better than this. There is some powdery, very exotic and delicious smelling note that makes Avon's Today a signature worthy fragrance.

comptemooc

all I can smell is white flowers, and not in a good way .. smells like an air freshener ..

Lyla Rose

Freesia is by far my most favorite flower, delicate, pure, elegant, yet with a strong vibe that always puts me in a great mood and I've been searching for a realistic freesia scent for quite some time.
I can't say enough how impressed I am with Today and how much I adore it.
This is one of my favorites for spring and it smells like a high quality scent, extremely elegant, not to mention it's very long lasting.
It smells like a bouquet of fresh white flowers and the freesia blends perfectly with the tuberose in a magic dance.
Perfect for spring days and summer evenings, I also believe it could be a great scent for a bride on her most special day.
Well done Avon, Today is a masterpiece!

Lila_Hill

I rarely buy Avon fragrances but did blind buy Today for $20 because it had won a Fifi award and because it was inexpensive.

I admit it is a bit of an enigma to me. When I first got it I wore it everyday for a couple weeks and enjoyed it, quite long lasting on my skin and pleasant. It has lovely floral notes and is a nice warm fragrance but there is a slightly synthetic scent that I can't put my finger on. It is an ok fragrance, but I can see myself getting sick of it quickly. I would not repurchase.

Venusia

Very well blended, sophisticated, absolutely surprising development over many hours, good silage too. A little wonder at incredible price that beats by far plenty of more expensive scents. Blooms nicely in spring-summer-mild autumn time.

anjezas

Believe me this is much better than tom ford neroli portofino

canadianpetite

Avon Today is another one for tuberose lovers. Up front is tuberose but aquatic and green. Unlike the sharp and clearness of the tuberose in Fracas, the tuberose in Today is creamier and made less edgy with musk. Being full of white florals, it is strong and loud so one to wear with definite conviction as you would Tom Ford or Giorgio Beverly Hills or White Diamonds. Beautiful but too much for me to wear as it is headache inducing. So why am I compelled to keep a bottle?

One spray on me,
Sillage: a yard
Longevity: four hours (my guess since my headache forced me to wash it off after 20 minutes
Rating: 3/5

Catty

Every single year I purchase this gem!
This is for me together with Michael Kors woman and Carolina Herrera the classiest and freshest Tuberose.

Unbelievable the price, Today could be easily a great maison creation.

Lots of compliments...amazing scent...congrats Avon!

perfumeaddiction

This was a wonderful swap I just received in the mail. Honestly I had no real high expectations because my past experiences with Avon have been so so... anyhow I am shocked! I mean shocked with how lovely this fragrance is. There is something seriously uplifting about this one. If your feeling sad or depressed it's like instant therapy - you cannot help but feel wonderful after spraying this.

OUT PERFORMS some of my $180 bottles of perfume. Lasts long and the quality is there so it goes to show you do not always need to spend big money to get something quality and lasting.

Ultra feminine, soft, gentle, fresh, clean - this one is seriously signature worthy. I just need to see how long it lasts but for a summer scent this is seriously top notch mind blowing for Avon. I am enamored.

BellaGiardino

This is a very soft, feminine scent that is safe for all occasions. Initially, I thought I detected honeysuckle but found none mentioned in the notes. The tuberose is just the right amount IMO. It's not bombastic like it is in Madonna's Truth or Dare. Avon has definitely been upping their game lately; I love this scent and highly recommend it.

Soofiya

I tested and reviewed avon today last autumn while I promised to come back for it in it's right season, today is a warm, sunny spring day,a great day actually since my heart is filled by a strong and deep love and I love the days of finding or rediscovering a new love.I can't believe that I ticked "like" and gave this masterpeice just 4hearts,now I see it as one of my most favorite floral scents!
I've been searching for my ideal spring perfume the whole spring, something with this features:a floral woody musk with natural smelling white florals but not too white floral, you know what I mean, something with great lasting power and sillage but not heavy and heady, something strong but also delicate and fresh in it's nature, something that won't be too much woody, something with a detectable, lovely musk but not as the strongest note, something clean also warm.a feminine sophisticated scent which also feels youthful, something ageless, something classy but not too formal.I tested various perfumes, from niches to highends and also their exclusive/private lines, classics and discontinued one, even celebrity perfumes.I found couple of perfumes which almost were what I want.I was almost believing that nothing can be complete.well avon today is 100% my dream perfume. There's not even a single thing in it I wished I could change.I love it head over hills and am going insane when I think about the fact that I can't have it!at least not soon enough to enjoy it this spring :((( how unlucky we are to not have avon perfumes in our country.I will find a way to order it from abroad but I can't wait and I have less than 2mil of it right now!
Lets stop nagging and talk about this devine scent:
It opens as a fresh white floral.a super gorgeous bouquet of tuberose and freesia.they smell so natural and high quality that it's as if you're really smelling flowers.it's one of the rare cases that tuberose doesn't want to make it all about herself.I usually dislike perfumes with green or watery notes but there's nothing green or watery added as an extra here.it smells like natural watery pureness that you feel from dewy flower petals and natural light green undertone you can get while smelling flower bushes.it's like inhaling life, nature and spring.there's also no added spices, just the natural spicyness of freesia.also no extra sweetness, natural sweetness of flowers
Unlike my previous experience I don't find it linear anymore.as time passes tuberose calms down and other flowers showup giving this flower garden other colors,it's not just about white florals and I'm thankful for that since I usually like pure white florals but they soon bore me snd I can't wear them often.it's dewy/rainwash quality and greenness also fades away though I can feel a hint of cactus sometimes
It finally dries down as a floralwoodymusk as it's supposed to.woods are subtle and just anchor this lovely musky floral to earth and give it a warm creamy undertone.musk is easily detectable but not too strong as some other perfumes in this genre,it's right amount of it to make the scent clean and sensual at the same time.this stage is what stays with me the longest time.in this stage orange flower is the prominent floral note on my skin, while lighter freesia and other florals still accompany it.it stays for +12 hours on my skin which is amazing and projects so well that anyone around you will definately notice it,even without being really close, but it won't suffocate them since it's gentle and silky
It's almost ageless(+20)and is wearable year round except cold nights.it feels nostalgic and comforting, upliftig, sensual, elegant and easy to love
I sprayed it while my man was leaving to work,he came back to ask whats this heavenly flower aura.he almost left and came back again to ask me spray it on a tissue so that he could enjoy it's beautiful smell while driving to work.then he called me to say his car smelled like a flower garden all the one hour he was on the way and asked me to buy a bottle for myself.well I will buy more than one as soon as I find an opportunity(something I've never done before)maybe even one bottle for my mom too and one for my mother in law.I'm sure hub's car is going to smell even better at the end of day when he is driving back home
I envy all lucky people who can order it right now and with unbeliveably affordable prices
Thanks a million times my lovely nikkiza to introduce me this beauty and sending me it's sample

Received this yesterday and i really love this one, it's cheerful in warm weather, i'm wearing it today and my colleagues are loving it making me order a bottle for each of them, i guess the hole offices will smell the same in the days to come, very longlasting and great sillage as my colleagues tell, they detected my perfume in the corridors without knowing it was my perfume, so i guess it is powerful, but everyone loves it so it's a non offending fragrance, i have a back up of two unopened bottles since it wont be anymore in the brochures where i live,so happy. :-)

GrandmaGaga

Another great blind swap! The freesia in this is so natural and sweet smelling! I love, love, love this...a really beautiful, quality Avon fragrance.
I would compare this favorably to Elie Saab Le Parfum edt but this is more my style; less sharp, a little more sweet. I've got to get a back-up bottle of this!

mystica

Avon Today has proven to be my trauma perfume :) This means that when really bad things happened in my life, I found myself attracted to this perfume to feel invigorated and slightly better.

This is I think due to its refreshing, sweet, aqueous floral nature with lots of orange flowers and freesias. It's new hope like spring.

*Migraine sufferers may need a bit precaution.

kat211313

This is one of my absolute favorite perfumes. It's feminine and it reminds me of something from my childhood... almost like the perfume a Barbie came with. This is floral and clean smelling, and it is one of my top 10 favorite perfumes.

paxvivavegas

I own it but I do not wear it. I'm a huge collector of fragrances and have left over Avon fragrances from being a rep. This is an acceptable release of Avon's trilogy collection. When I did sample it It screamed out to much Sandalwood so it over powered everything unique about it, however the dry down was acceptable. The sandalwood embraced a calm but lasting effect and I was able to detect honey which is sweet so the others must of played some background role or fizzled out. In conclusion they did not work. For example The White Pepper, sap and butterfly bush were not detectable. Honey when drying down was detectable with a teeny bit of freesia. You can get a warm vanilla and sandalwood mix them together and you can replicate this fragrance easily. Wore it Once and never again. Admire it and find it acceptable for those who do wear it.

Akarui_hana

I blind-bought this one. It is indeed beautiful, much more than I ever expected and my expectations were pretty high since I based them on some very enthusiastic reviews from here.

If you like sparkling florals you must get this! It is absolutely stunning! My biggest surprise is how natural this smells, no synthetic avon-esque notes here, just class all the way.

Read a lot of reviews about how Avon Today is comparable to high end perfumes and gave it a try!
Yes, the claim is true, it could pass as a high end scent.

First of, it's alcoholic and sour. The sourness won't fade, it will linger for ever... After ten minutes or so it starts smelling flowery and green. Orange kicks in and the white flowers, so it becomes strong. It is not a light fragrane in my opinion. After an hour or so, you will discern the musk and the creaminess of it. Also, it is effervescent and fizzy. There is absolutely nothing sweet about it.

Sillage is strong, a lot of people will ask you what are you wearing.
Lasting power is medium to long (well lasting power kind of depends on each individual's skin...)

It's a feminine scent, beautiful, fresh and clean, reminds me of older perfumes, see nowadays super sweet juices have taken over, and it seems that women have forgotten how elegant and nice flowers can smell. I like this scent a lot. It's strong but light, not heavy.

For all times and all places although i don't see this quite working in winter. For all ages i would add, although the younger ones might not like it at all...

Freesia, tuberose and orange blossom are definitely the most prominent of all the notes. In the background though, i get the woods and the musk, which add a steady base and lasting qualities to the perfume. The cactus note is like a ghost, sometimes i sense it sometimes i don't.

Catty

Amazing fragrance...lovely, classy, floral smell ...you can not go wrong with Today...perfect day scent...you smell expensive for a price that is a joke.

unfortunately avon perfumes are'nt available where I live.I was eager to try avon today because of it's fifi prize and also it's special notes.a sample of it was among other samples that my dear swap buddy, niki has sent me
I love florals in spring and summer but as soon as the weather gets colder I loose my intrest in florals.even my most beloved florals change to "meh"s,so I thought it's not fair to try today in this cold autumn day.I decided to save it for spring but ciriousity was the winner.I sprayed it on a paper and OMG.it's adorable
It's a floral and I can get freesia, orangeflower and tuberose, but there are also lots of flowers that I don't know them.so there's something more than a typical white floral here.I can detect something crisp and almost green and I believe it's cactus and it's very lovely
florals are soft, natural, fresh and young.there is a green undertone that makes florals even more fresh just as young flower stems.Avon today smells very natural, fresh and youthful, just like spring. It's a linear scent on me,maybe because I'm suffering a cold and flu and my nose can't act properly.the only differance I get is about drydown which becomes a little sweeter with a hint of musk.this is my first test and I like it very much.I think I may love it during spring and summer.what a shame they don't sell it in my country
although it's a soft scent, longevity and sillage are very good.it's been 8 hours since I applied it and it's still strong.it can be a great bride perfume.I link it's scent to picture of a young, sweet and innocent bride, with a simple, pretty and natural face and makeup
❤️❤️❤️❤️

I love it for its unique Cactus flower scent.

mystica

Very watery and fresh white flowers. Sweet. Freesias are BIG in this one. So much so that anybody who loves freesias can't go wrong with Today.

It's a distinctive perfume, strong enough to assert its presence, but a very soft and feminine presence is this. For that reason I find Today even a bit naiive, and because of the memories between us it makes me slightly upset everytime I wear it.

Apart from that it's really one of the loveliest florals I know of and that I can actually wear.

Adina Galani

Yeah, similar to rare pearls indeed, but surely not the same. Rare Pearls is more insence and tuberose while Today is more of a white flowery one, slitely softer but same in quality. I am not the one to go by the rules, but if anyone is, I would think this one is more a summery one while Rare Pearls more for fall / winter when U want to come out of heavy orientals.

celebrity89

Super pretty, mellow yet cheery orange blossom scent. I'm not a fan of the toxic White Diamonds, but there is a similarity here. This is what White Diamonds should have been.

christina.cvetkovic

I am sooo in love with this parfume! It reminds me of very nice and chic lady. Very fresh at the same time. Deffinitely a spring/summer scent. One of my favourite next to 5th Avenue by E.A.

FionaNewZealand

Today is very different for Avon, it doesn't smell like all the others. I can see how it would be a love or hate perfume, it's very distinctive. I get very clear and strong spring and white flowers. I gassed my husband with it once and usually he doesn't make remarks about how much perfume I put on, so it is a big one!

nitschevo

Received a small purse spray today - what a beauty!! I cannot stop smelling my wrist, this one is absolutely gorgeous! Dense but at the same time light and airy flowers. If you don't like floral perfumes this one is def not for you. The tuberose in this reminds me a bit of Giorgio Beverly Hills and strangely enough also a tad of Tease by PH. Less intense of course but with the same brightness to it. Not sure how the cactus note is supposed to smell but I can very clearly detect the orange blossom and a touch of musk with an aquatic edge to it. Also a bit creamy, not too sharp. It also reminds me a bit of one of the J'Adore flankers, don't remember which one though. L'Or maybe?
There are far better reviews on this than mine so scroll on :) I only have to say I love this and will get a FB. Summer is coming!

mshimoz

I think it's a nice one..excellent longevity ,but I smell it everywhere, most of women wear it here..think I can't use it becuz of that and um sad for it

valmue

I had almost forgotten how much I used to love it. A reminder to show my fragrances some love and appreciation before rushing off to buy the new and "exciting" stuff from the want list :)

on this one I can only agree that it surpasses the general expectation level when "Avon" is mentioned. A well made, very together and grown up, yet light daytime scent. work appropriate. Curiously, I don't detect the white flowers, maybe a powdery freesia. I mostly sense yellow flowers, with a strangely contradicting creamy powderiness to them. a very muted citrus note that hides behind the prominent freesia in the powdery veil. later on, some shy white flowers appear, but rather faint on me. this one gives me confidence and an air of "I know what I'm doing" when I am at work. classy and ladylike.
and the bottle is of course gorgeous as well

Catty

Together with Calvin Klein Beauty, and Penhaligon´s Gardenia Today is one among of my best classy freshy floral scents for daytime. I alternate always these 3 scents most of my time.

It´s unbelievable, but Today smells rich, sophisticated like a niche perfume La Chasse aux Papillons...purchasing Today, you get much more class, refinement, femininity for less money.

Today is a very cost-effective, intelligent choice for a classy woman with a lot of personality.

I love it!

mystica

Definitely the best Avon perfume available. Nothing short of a designer scent... It's a lovely, clean, classy, wonderful floral. I hope they never change the formula.

mellymel

This is gorgeous, strong and long lasting but,I won't be buying it because it's overworn. It has a distinctive scent and I smell it on the bus, at the market, even on a small student of mine who got it as a present... so,sorry but no...

dabu

I find avon parfumes generally so similar to eachother and generic but this one is totally different. It is the best avon parfume ever. Smells chic, elegant, fresh and floral.

Zoita

A creamy symphony of white flowers, with the lead tuberose accompanied by seductive musk, all bathed in water. Feminine, velvety sweet, classy and lovable

zolitakat

I'm in Love with the bottle! Such heavy glass and so classy. It make me happy. the fragrance is one of my go-to fragrances for daytime. Its really special, floral, Springlike and zappy-happy bouncy-stepped lady somehow. I don't normally wear this kind of a sharpish fragrance, but I adore this one and will keep it in my repertoire forever its so classy and nice!

kellbell73

Man, this bottle is heavy, elegant, and classy. The golden juice...nectar of the Gods! A slightly sweet, beautifully blended swirl of white flowers give the overall impression of gardenias and honeysuckle, while the cedar keeps it from becoming a too sweet headache inducer. This smooth, creamy, almost humid tropical fragrance is comparable to Roberto Cavalli and costs so little!!! Sillage and longevity are AMAZING. I'm grabbing several more bottles; I must always have this sexy lady!!!!!

DeborahLeigh

Nice for day time work wear. Not too overpowering if you work with other people close by. Today is the nicest in this Avon trilogy Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. A good staple perfume at a great price when on sale.

shoareku

simple, elegant and romantic!my signiature!

gawerika

This was gifted to me a couple of years ago but it did not interest me and I did not even remember how it smelled and don’t even it I gave it away or chucked it...then I was I into gourmet/fruit sweet scents then. After reading many positive reviews on this I blind bought it and I am so pleased with this that I will stock-up on it as soon as it comes on sale.

On my skin, I find it citrusy with delicate floral ascents and a little spicy to give it that oomph, wrapping you into a fresh, feminine aura with a moderate but present long lasting trail and now and then as move I find a breeze it that just makes me smile with content. It is ideal for any occasion depending on how much you use, for work, casual and intimate outings 1 spritz as it is enough to last all day and until the next shower. It a strong qualify perfume and it can get too overpowering if more than 2 spritzes are used being that it is potent.

I am in love with it and glad that I took a chance on it!!

lhm

It's undoubtedly very oriental perfume of scented gardenia. it's nice clean, crispy, very importantly has powerful smell and it does last for many hours. If you admire gardenia this perfume would be your good pick!

rednut

A lovely bright, clean fragrance yet strong and deep. Not my usual style but there is something about this one that will keep me buying it.
A big freesia opening quickly moving to the middle notes. The tuberose and orange blossom blend together very well with the other florals but these are for me, the ones that remain most prominent, even on the drydown where a slight musky woody scent with a hint of cedar joins the florals. I don't seem to smell the rose though. I don't much care who makes a scent and this is for me, a keeper. Great scent, Great price, excellent longevity and sillage.

kristi.cathcart1

I bought this fragrance off of a co-worker who sells Avon and I was blown away by the quality of this perfume. Smells like i spent 3 times more than the 30.00 I paid. People always compliment me and ask me what I'm wearing, they look shocked when I say Avon. It is a fruity floral on me that mellows to a soft powdery musk. I don't smell pepper or sandalwood but the tropical vibe is present in the top notes., long lasting with mild silleage, it is feminine and rich smelling. Well worth the money

jailalai

love this perfume

Martaynd

Love this!!! I am an admitted perfume snob. I seek out the fragrances off the beaten path. Do NOT want to smell like everyone else. Don't mind paying top dollar for a FINE fragrance. So SHOCKED that Avon had something I could LOVE! Today is just beautiful. And I didn't have to spend $$$ to have it. Just reminded me that I can still find great fragrances for reasonable prices.

Lasts all day. A little goes a long way. Doesn't morph and change throughout the day. This is definitely a bright, sunny floral. Fresh. Feminine. Very versatile, office to evening. I think it lends itself more to business and dressier occasions, but absolutely would use it for casual days too. Preferred it more from spring through fall.

Lucky7z

My all time favorite scent/perfume from Avon.....imo its a nice light floral perfect for spring. I always get compliments when I wear this!=)

claudiajanet22

I like this one, it has a lot of jasmine and green notes,on my skin hasn't good longevity but it's nice for daily use.

Update: This fragance took me time to understand it, it´s a complex smell, i feel it really original and natural, i don't feel any sintentic or cheap ingredient.
In my own opinion i think that it's an expensive smell based in green and sweet notes, but personally the thing that makes this fragance very original is all the things that makes you feel, you can agree with it or not, but the point is that all the ingredients are so well blended that you can almost compare them with, for example: real jasmines and cactus, and another thing that it's important to say is what a fragance must make you feel things like a piece of art, in these case Today has that magic.
The last thing that i would like to say is that my first bottle maybe were expired because some days ago i've just recived a new one and this bottle smells beautiful and also changed its longevity and sillage which are both amazing ( about 3 - 8 hours lasting and sillage of three feet), so we have to be careful with expired perfumes. It deserves to be purchased this fragance.

preciousdrug

I like wearing it in the winter and even beginning of spring. It's because it's sweet, but a heavy sweet. I also find it elegant, and i think it's the most elegant perfume I own. I like the fact that even if I find it elegant, it's still for young women and it doesn't make you feel old and dusty kind of last century lady. I'm a big fan of sweet perfumes, so i own more of this category (I admit though that i don't own very expensive bottles), but yes, I repeat, this one is the best.
I feel like it's longevity and sillage are on great levels, because everytime I come closer to the bottle or it's box, I start smelling the perfume in the air. On skin it stays long, even longer in hair and clothes, it lasts through the night. Usually when i wear it for a long time, I realise the perfume is always there with me :)) I mean, it's stuck to my clothes, hair, objects, scarves especially. I run my hand through my hair and I feel light notes from the perfume for a few seconds. Eh, you get it.
To sum up i'd buy it again, if i won't find something better.

avon_lover

One of my all time favorite!
Super clean, floral and long lasting parfum!
All my friends go crazy when i wear it!
Congratulations Avon!
P.S: In February (2015) will be release (Europe) men version of Today!

HanamiTsukimi

It's too much for me. Classic smelling, yes, but the freesia is loud and shrill. Of course, this is coming from a girl who doesn't have much affection for most white floral perfumes, so take it for what you will.

And it's not in the notes, but I and also my aunt who tested it with me thought that there was a definite note of gardenia. It has that overall vibe.

I will say that it's excellent value for the money considering I've tested white florals priced twice as high that don't smell any more prestigious.

Catty

Today is a romantic, lady-like daytime Tuberose scent.

It´s perfect for the Office. One spray is enough to last all day and the projection is very good too. It´s not an intoxicating scent, on the contrary, it´s a polite, and refined Tuberose.

This is not a fresh Tuberose, or a creamy one. This lovely scent is basically very flowerly from beginning ´til end, being very feminine.

It´s incredible that Today is an avon scent. Nobody believes when I say it. It could be easily a product from any top "Grand maison".

For the high Quality and Price, Today is really a catcher for a good daytime scent.

chick4troy

This is a very intense floral scent and apparently not for everyone; especially not the fainthearted. It's like opera, either you love it or you hate it and I for one LOVE it. I think it is similar to Pleasures from Estee Lauder. Pleasures is slightly lighter and sweeter and equally lovely. This fragrance is very feminine, warm and the epitome of Spring.

mushkbar

love the bottle but perfume is too loud to my taste.Always gives me a headache.I think this bottle will just sit pretty on my dresser.

Shwets

This smells very similar to rare pearls as a few reviewers have already mentioned. Except in rare pearls there is a dry heavier tuberose note which spoilt it for me.

A gorgeous scent but sadly for me today gives me a headache as does other Avon perfumes.
My mum who is very critical of fragrances was besotted with this and sprayed some on saying it smells very natural.

I have one small spray on my wrist and even after half hour it is strong. I'm trying to resist from washing it off but my headache is quite bad and will try to test how long this lasts

PLUMPIE

I didn't want to like this at first, it seemed to have the classic avon perfume base at first and reminds me of a 90s scent they released called 'Dreamlife' mixed with Rare pearls and Rare Gold, but once it warms up on the skin this is a wonderful scent of fresh honeysuckle and freesia. The honey and honeysuckle give it a slightly retro vibe which I love. It is floral, just syrupy enough with enough musk to save it from being too sweet or headache inducing for me. I don't know what the cactus notes are about or what they would smell like but all I know is this is an easy wearing crowd-pleasing day scent for when I don't have the nose for my heavy oriental or Gourmand fragrances and need a break from amber patchouli based scents but don't want to opt for one of my musk fragrances. Pick up when on sale!

Something in this has a peppery note and it reminds me a lot of Sarah Jessica Parkers Lovely. I get a very fresh natural smelling honeysuckle from this even though there is none listed. A perfect spring scent.

Super concentrated and long lasting this will give me a headache and becomes quite overwhelming if worn on my wrists or neck - I like to spray on my back and legs that way I get a lovely trail of honeysuckle and white florals without it overwhelming me.

Fragaria

This fragrance is very pretty. When it arrived, I thought "hmmmmmmmmmm this smells flowery and nice like 5th Avenue." I figured it was a bit of a waste, but didn't feel "taken" for my twenty bucks.
It didn't "grow" on me, I just kept smelling my arm. At one point, I thought as others have mentioned, RARE PEARLS! It didn't smell exactly like it at all, but that maybe some base notes as if this was a flanker? And it might be. As much as I like Rare Pearls, I prefer this one. Like I mentioned, this is pretty like 5th Avenue and I feel a bit more acceptable to those around us especially if we wear more than a spray or two. It's been a week or two and I'm glad to have spent my twenty bucks! This is a perfect everything scent. It's a bit too refined to wear just for the day out gardening, clearing a shed of clutter, or painting. But this is great for anything you might do AFTER you've done those things and showered! Flowery and pretty as this is, I think I'll keep mine for early fall and through winter. It's just a touch heavy for very hot or humid days to my nose. Meaning, that I myself might not care for it following me all day. I'm sure smelling it on someone ELSE would be fine to me...even welcoming! I think I'd like to sit near someone in church with this on. All in all, this is a well behaved, pretty and bright, crispy, and clean little lady. I....LIKE IT!

Labaloo

A clerk working at a local grocery was wearing this tonight. I caught a light whiff as soon as I walked in, and she was perhaps 20 feet away from the door at the time. After I finished shopping and my turn came up at her register, I complimented her on this lovely fragrance and asked what it was. This ended up turning into a short, but pleasant conversation of vintage Avon bottles in all their wonderfully-kitschy variety, and how we both wished- well, I'll keep this short: I thought 'Today' was perfectly enchanting, and so-very-fitting for the late springtime/early summer in which we are now in the midst. It fit right in as if a rare-flowered tree were in full bloom, the sweet aroma caught by a breeze.

Marie76

I got this as part of a 10 ml purse set, with today, tomorrow and forever. Orange blossom and white flowers are favourite notes of mine, today is beautiful, balanced, a bit more lemony than neroli should be, but beautiful. Projection is excellent, and so is the staying power. The dry down reminds me of L'air du temps, by Nina Ricci. Alas, all of the three perfumes give me a horrible headache, despite liking them...if anyone wants the set get in touch.

L'eaulita

A crystalline sparkling orange blossom fragrance that has such an ethereal feminine effervesence about it. The way this scent catches on the breeze is stunning and for a relatively cheap price, you can smell like a million bucks.

Aldehydic freesia and orange blossom twinkle with a backdrop of fluffy, airy tuberose. This floral bouquet isnt going out of style- ever. It smells classic yet very much in vogue, uplifting and bright.

Elegant and poised, this fragrance fits like a dress should, tight enough to prove youre a woman but loose enough to show youre a lady. It fits in all the right places, has no sharp edges or synthetic harshness and belongs up there with the best of the Chanels and Diors.

Not at all like Rare Pearls which is more along the line of Diors Pure Poison, thick and velvety, a little raspy and purr-y. Where rare Pearls hums, Today sings like a wet fingertip running around a crystal champgne flute.

Pity about the name..."Today". What an embrassing name for such a splendid work of art.

polkadot27

On my first day of university I remember sitting in the small tutorial room thinking what is that beautiful classy intriguing scent, who is wearing it? What is it? It doesn't smell like any marc jacobs or lady million or any other generic student scent. What is that beautiful expensive complex magnetic designer fragrance ? Later that night when I got back i realized...Yeah little did i know it was me all along. I had sprayed it in a hurry for the first time that morning, not expecting much of it -being from Avon and all. Wow, i am still blown away and taken aback by the fact Avon have created such a multi-layered expensive smelling scent. It is a masterpeice arguably the most expensive classy smelling scent avon have created it is up there with Chanel mademoiselle and the like. I find it hard to detect and describe the notes because literally there is so many notes and complexities and layers to this fragrance over the course of 6-8 hours. All i know is it is beautiful, intriguing, magnetic, classy, charming, sophisticated, cashmere like & blended lovely. One of if not thee best tuber rose perfume! I always get a compliment when wearing this. Brilliant sillage & lasting power & brilliant affordable price. I'm in love with this absolute diamond.
Like other reviewers have said- I don't know what it is- this perfume just has that little something about it that makes it magnetic and captivating.

bonnie52

This is the best of Today, Tomorrow and Always by far! It is a very fresh, floral, clean, uplifting, beautiful scent! I applied with a heavy hand to get it to last. It does smell kind of similar to Rare Pearls, however Rare Pearls has much better silage. Also a wonderful scent!

k8r8r

It starts out very fresh and green, then softens and turns and creamy and elegant upon dry down. My fave Avon frag so far. Another reviewer, @Lilah Veil said it's Rare Pearls repackaged. Interesting. I'll have to check it out, thanks! Reminds me of Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia by Estée Lauder.

tuoksuhullu

I don´t know, what it is in this perfume... but it is just captivating! Lovely, happy. Not too heavy nor too weak. Suitable on every occasion.

Lilah Veil

Avon Today is exactly Avon Rare Pearls repackaged. I own both and there is no distinction. I ordered a mini gift set of Today, Tomorrow, Forever. As soon as I tried Today I knew it was Rare Pearls. If you love this fragrance save yourself some money. Rare Pearls is less expensive and the exact same scent. Never mind the notes display. It IS Rare Pearls (Light). Think of Pearls as the edp version of Today and use a light hand. Pearls is same notes only richer and deeper; 90's style when manufacturers were not skimping on oils, unlike today's 99% alcohol evap within minutes.

My Rare Pearls is hanging forever on my left hand while Avon's exact notes have altogether disappeared within 15 minutes. Today has no longevity compared to Rare Pearls. Pearls is a light fragrance itself of finer quality with staying power.

xluchi

simplemente perfecta flor blanca, no puedo dejar de oler mi muñeca, es muy alegre!!!! Me hace feliz llevarla
8 horas y aun puedo sentirla al otro dia, en la ropa es eterna

salmad

So light, elegant and green floral. The tuberose and orange blossom dries down to a lovely white floral with a hint of orange blossom. My mother who is in her late 40s wears this all the time. Sadly she has resorted to keeping it as a "side table drawer" perfume since barely lasts an hour w/ the body lotion. And because my dad loves smelling it on her. I would buy this again if it was on sale.

YogaRose

The combination is exquisite. Tuberose and orange blossom stands to me but in the end, Today, is it's own notable scent. So ethereal, soothing, oriental-ish, with a bit of "sweet". Longevity is fantastic. Just like I like them. The best of Avon and I hope this one stands their test of time.

belleve

Too strong for me

odie

Intense and fragrant perfume, all of its notes blend well and I especially caught the musky/spicy interplay. My mother said "it makes me feel happy" when she smelled it at Avon retailers today. I told her to buy it. For a person who is reserved about Avon fragrances "Today" is a worthy buy.

Lavallectra

I agree with Radchick - it's tuberose for people who don't like tuberose. Normally I'm not a fan of tuberose but I like Today... it's a pretty, silky white floral with hints of more unusual notes like cactus and honey-sweet buddleia. The longevity was really good, and though it's mature smelling I think plenty of younger people would like this too.

Radchick

One of Avon’s best. Today is a lush, dense floral, and smells like the fragrance of freshly cut blooms filling the air. This is one of my favorite floral fragrances by far. I would call this a tuberose based scent for people who don’t like tuberose. There is a fair amount of freesia in here, which complements the tuberose better than I would have imagined, plus some other odd notes that seem to work perfectly together. I have a gazillion Avons in my collection, and I would never guess this was an Avon. This smells mature and elegant and, as others have mentioned, this smells more expensive than it is

MilicaaR

Timeless and mature. For independent women who know what they want. And of course, Today must be worn with a good pair of high heels.

zolitagirl

My favorite Avon perfume. It smells so much more expensive than it is and it lasts for days if sprayed on fabrics. The bottle is a work of art in its gorgeous simplicity and heaviness. Its my favorite perfume bottle ever made. It is a spring or winter fragrance. It makes em feel zingy and pretty and feminine but there is a twist in there that also makes it interesting and not generic- Maybe it is the strelizia??!! A great gift for anyone. They will be surprised at how good and classy it is. I keep my bottle on top of my piano because it looks so good there. I love looking at it. I am so happy I found this perfume - it is one of the best perfume finds in my life.

dipisor

It's such a nice scent. It's very feminine and elegant and smells like a very expensive fragrance. Though it's not suitable for women under 30 years old, I think.

irisjetaime

Je me rends.... Je m'abandonne...

Plus sérieusement, Today est un petit chef d'oeuvre pour qui adore la tubéreuse.

zekica

Great value for money, it's worth to buy, I always have it I my collection

missk

Avon Today is one of those sweet, Spring appropriate florals. Its most dominant accords are tuberose, freesia and orange blossom, however I can also detect a note that smells very much like mimosa.

Both this fragrance and Reese Witherspoon's In Bloom are white florals that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone. Their quality is indeed superior when compared to other Avon scents.

I'm not usually a fan of freesia, but in this particular composition it compliments the tuberose and orange blossom perfectly. The overall result is a smooth, clean and feminine white floral blend.

Avon Today projects a long way, so I would only apply this one sparingly. The longevity is also surprisingly good. If you're ever stuck for gift ideas and are on a tight budget, I would highly recommend ordering this fragrance from the Avon catalogue. It's an easy crowd pleaser.

I unfortunately cannot remember who sent me a sample of Avon Today, but I'll shout out a thank you to whoever it was.

You know when avon is the issue, expectations are generally low. but this one is quite surprising. if you like flowery scents, it is perfect for you. my skin has good harmony with flowery scents, therefore i choose perfumes having flower notes. this one is a mixture of wonderful flowers and it is perfect for summer or spring :) Honeysuckle is very dominant, jasmine and orange blossom can be detected, too. Longevity is like 5 hours and the bottle is nice. this scent is a nominee to be my signature fragrance :))

Meis

Elie Saab anyone?

However this scent is the more enigmatic sister: Slightly less orange blossom, a few more other notes.

It was the only Avon perfume I've ever liked, but I didn't like it enough to buy it again.

(I actually think I had Today, tomorrow, always... but it was in this bottle. So I'm not sure.)

mhubbard

I realized this is almost a perfect dupe of Splendor.

mhubbard

This is a very very loud white floral, reminding me of Fracas. Very perfumey, no one will think it is just shower gel. Unfortunately I detect a strong gardenia note which is the one note I cannot abide, thus it is a scrubber.

Madallina, you are right!
I don't wear it in summer because it's sweet and somehow warm, embracing, "covering". For cooler summer nights it's ok, but during hot, sunny days- a big NO. Then it looses all the beauty on me. Maybe for other people it works well.

madallina

I don't know if it's only me thinking this but I find it difficult to wear it on summer.I love this scent on winter and autumn but in july and august i can't bear it.Am I twisted??

EmilyTheStrange

Sampled this today and have to say I was surprised. Only smelt on paper however it was very feminine, elegant, floral and surprisingly NON Avon smelling to me (ie couldn't really smell any alcohol).

Once this comes down in price (I'm in Australia and it's still 'new' here so about $40-50) I may actually buy it. The impression I get with this fragrance is it's pretty safe without being boring.

Limpylou

This Spring/Summer fragrance has always worked on me; I ALWAYS receive compliments when wearing it. Again, fragrance snobs will always look "down" on Avon. So what? This is white flowers and honeysuckle, but without too much "sweet". Get off your fragrance high horses and give it a try! Plus it lasts quite awhile:)

Today is a blind swap for me. Before swapping I carefully researched all reviews as I usually do and decided to give it a try. Despite all positive comments, all testimonies how beautiful this fragrance is, all opinions on its great projection and longevity, I am still very surprised as I didn't expect all of it to be so true.

Today is all about flowers to me, fresh and very real smelling, yet not in the usual combination. It reminds me of a scent, probably to its own self as the fragrance was released back in 2004 and I cannot forgive myself I admire this quality fragrance so late. But I say to myself hey, some years were wasted but our relationship will last for many more to come, for sure.

I can't understand why all the negativity toward Avon. Not all scents work on all skin, that is why there is so much to choose from. I like many of their fragrances and at their prices I can afford to have several to choose from according to my mood.
I bought this one late last fall and I realy do like it. At first I thought it more of a sometime fragrance, but right now it is in my daily rotation. So far it is a powerhouse on my skin. It has very good sillage and lasts all day.It wears and smells similar to the Estee Lauder's I love so much, but is a better buy for daily wear. In the cooler months it is more of a tuberose with a well blended floral base. When first applied I get tuberose and not much else. After dry down though I get a little more of the florals and I get some of the catus, which on me is green and melon like, blended with the soft florals. In cooler months on me this is as others have stated more of a "linear" tuberose floral that lasts all day. With the warm weather though this fragrance changes some. Still a sweet floral with that green melon/catus, the dry down opens more and has more depth. With the warmer weather I get more of the freesia which I love plus more of the other florals, now the tuberose blends more instead of standing on top.The orange blossom remains tame on me which is good as far as my nose is considered. It still lasts all day but now it developes more over the day and is no longer linear on my skin. So far this is a clean office safe floral in both cool and warm weather. I look forward to see how this one developes in the heat here in the south, as of yet I only get a litte of the pepper and a hint of the hibiscus. I still get none of the cedar or the musk and I am not too sure of the strelitzia. I do consider this more of an spring and summer scent as heat seams to make this fragrance "bloom". I most likely won't use this one next winter, but like I said I look forward to enjoying how this developes over the summer.

A beautiful, gleaming fragrance for summer. Full of fresh and golden flower. I don't really like parfumes with flowers but this one is reminds me of the first days of summer holiday, when you are bathing the aroma of nice flowers, the air is full of happiness and fresh anticipations. Your skin is still cool and firm from a morning shower, you are wearing a cosy but cute dress, you're carefree and smiling. Very very good one!!!!

dtchbrd

This one is not for me. I found it incredibly strong and flowery and more suitable for mature ladies.

edna maria de lima rocha

bom eu gosto muito desse perfume..ele é diferente de tudo que AVON JÁ FEZ..

juliaten

I like the smell a lot, but prefume gives me horrible headache I couldn`t stand I thought I`d die. No thank you...

BikiniBabe

Got it as a present from my grandma. She loves it so i wear it whenever i go to see her but other than that keep it away from me. Again, its a womanly smell. Nothing sweet or rebellious about it =( Just not my thing.

Update - January 6th 2014

I am doomed! I just got a gift set for Xmas from grandma again. This is for sure my 5th bottle... all bought by her.

She is convinced that this is my favorite perfume in the whole wide world, because i always wear it for her when i go over to visit.

Anything to make grandma happy i guess... but another bottle!? Help! Ha ha ha =p

Yesterday after a hot shower I wanted something comforting, like a lullaby, so I sprayed on this. On my hot skin it opened and I entered a huge garden of oriental flowers. Soft scent from the petals brought by a breeze of warm wind. I smell freesia ( but I "see" it white", not "yellow"), cactus (I think it gives that unique touch to this perfume) and tuberose. Pepper makes this scent sparkling and refreshing.
Today I woke up. Guess what I smelled? A soft whiff of "Today" from my wrist.

kelly.locke.79

This is a lovely creamy/mellow floral fragrance. The pepper notes makes it slightly spicy and alongside the orange blossom makes this yummy. Lasts all day.

This beautiful scent reminds me of my old high school friend. The first time Today met my nose was when my friend and I were riding the bus together after school. I remember asking her what she was wearing and she said, oh it's a perfume from avon. My birthday soon came and she gave me a perfume set of Today as a gift!!! I was ecstatic. I've received many compliments on this perfume, especially from men. A few years back a had a group of guy friends stop me down the street just to ask what perfume I was wearing. When I told them it was an Avon perfume, they couldn't believe it! It smells like a 100 dollar perfume, indeed.

Avon Today used to by my mom's signature scent few years after it appeared in the market. So I often recognize it on other women and immediately it brings me pleasant associations. But even the scent itself is worth writing about, not only memories. It's a very feminine perfume. Freesias are ones of my favorite flowers and their scent is gorgeous live and in fragrances too. I'm not a big fan of tuberose though, but in Today tuberose is not "extreme" and choky, I'd rather call it a sour tuberose. I'm very picky on floral fragrances, but this one is really something. Not a masterpiece nor brilliant, but really very wearable. I imagine it would fit women in their thirties or forties best. Perfect choice for a romantic walk in summer night. And also - to office, only when not overdosed. Be careful not to use too much juice at once! One thing - it's quite radiant and another issue I observed - it starts to smell soapy and cheap (especially at drydown) when overdosed.
Personally, I'd like it to develop more. On my skin it smells the same all day.

sonic.dia

I remember that when it was first released back in 2004, I loved it. I even got some samples from my friend who was avon lady. A month ago I bought 2 bottles, one for my grandmother and one for myself. When I got them I opened one of the bottles, sprayed it on me and expected that gorgeous flower smell...and it just wasn't it. What I got was not good, it was too sharp and not at all like I remembered. I was very dissapointed and didn't know what to do...it was supposed to be a christmas gift for grandmother. So I waited for christmas day for my grandma to open it, and guess what happened - in her box was the amazing scent I remembered! Then I noticed that the boxes are slightly different. They must have changed the formula and I just got "lucky". But I'm really glad I opened the bad one first and grandma got the good one...

yammyclink

I had this for christmas but i thought i would love this fragrance...unfortanatly it didnt turn out like that..i hateit
and it smells so nasty, if i smell this again..Oh dear:(

The notes sounded spectacular, but I'm afraid all I get is those old fashioned soaps that got passed down from friend to friend to friend as a "filler" for like a gift basket on special occasions. Yep, that's it. Somehow it makes me think of those horrid soap operas like "The Young and the Restless" too. Not for me.

BettyNoir

Oh dear. After my previous review (see below), I have gone off this and will be giving it away. The thing is with Avon perfumes (with the exception of Little Black Dress), is that the base or whatever it is they use to make all their fragrances, smells cheap after the drydown. This is only my opinion of course.

Avon Today gives me a big hit of freesia and maybe jasmine, and then beds down into something that smells like posh air freshener in a loo. I kept sniffing thinking I'd tried a sample I didn't like in a shop, but no, sadly it was my bottle of Avon today that I have become disillusioned with.

I don't hold with the fact that you have to spend a lot to smell good as there are some excellent bargains out there. but in this case, an expensive smelling top note was wearing cheap shoes.

yammyclink

I have bought this perfume by look at the bottle...BIG MISTAKE, although it was cheap, theres something in that perfume i am not keen on, its smells soapy and cheap too me,so i gave it away, but i wouldn't buy this ever again..

marsiesmoon

I would like to make a comparison, for anyone who may remember Avon Vivage from the 80's, this reminds me very much of that but I cannot find any info on Vivage today. Today, is a beautiful perfume.Floral at it's finest(coming from someone who doesn't dig florals too much).
If there is one perfume in my collection I would like to have a backup of, it would be Today.Pure exotic floral loveliness.

fragaddict

The bottle is nice and the fragrance is straight floral. This is not sweet, fruity or really interesting for that matter. It is soft and floral. This is not complex or intiguing. Don't get me wrong, it's not bad, but I'm into orientals which is why tomorrow is my favorite from this particular line. I have considered giving this away many times but I like the bottle and the fragrance itself smells expensive. I may wear this once every year or two, but Tomorrow is the one I love. If you like soft florals Today is worth a try.
