Burberry Brit for Men by Burberry is a Amber Woody fragrance for men. Burberry Brit for Men was launched in 2004. The nose behind this fragrance is Antoine Maisondieu. Top notes are Ginger, Cardamom, Bergamot and Green Mandarin; middle notes are Wild Rose, Nutmeg, Cedar and Spicy Notes; base notes are Tonka Bean, Gray Musk, Cedar, Oriental Woodsy notes and Patchouli. This perfume is the winner of 2 awards: FiFi Award Best National Advertising Campaign / Print 2005 and FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Men`s Luxe 2005.

Nonchalant Burberry Brit for Men is a perfect illustration of modern English spirit inwrought with tradition. Young English actor Hugh Dancy sitting in front of a fabulous old-timer embodies to perfection the laid-back, elegant spirit and philosophy of this new scent for men; demureness and irony, a classic turned into casual fragrance. Citrusy freshness of mandarin and bergamot and cool, spicy notes of ginger and cardamom preceed a masculine heart of cedar and nutmeg with a touch of refined wild rose. The base is sensual due to precious egzotic woods, gray amber, Tonka bean and patchouli. It was created by Antoine Maisondieu in 2004.

Rotten Rose

This is a fantastic fragrance and I will always recommend it. However, the reformulation has really hurt its performance. When this fragrance was made in France, it was a beast. Now that it is made in Germany, it becomes a skin scent in roughly an hour after application. Also, do not let the mention of rose deter you from trying this fragrance. It is a very masculine and timeless scent that would be a welcomed addition in any collection.

I've tried to this one a number of times and I just can't seem to ever catch myself going "oooh I smell great". I do not think the fragrance is outright awful smelling or anything. I smell this and think "presentable". Maybe if you're going to church or gotta wait at an office that morning a few sprays of this won't hurt you, but I personally catch myself just glancing at the bottle and then picking up something else entirely. Smelling like an aftershave really isn't a priority for me.

As far as I can remember, this is the first cologne I ever wore. I was first introduced to it as a freshman in high school when I caught a whiff of it off one of my friends. I asked him what he was wearing and went out to buy it that weekend. I was completely enamored with it, and thought it was the best thing in the world. Now as an adult I'm taking a trip down memory lane and reliving the scent of my teenage years. Will it still enchant me like it did 20 years ago, or will it fall flat compared to what I enjoy now? Let's find out;

Scent:
Opening is floral, powdery, and warm/spicy. The primary notes I get are wild rose, tonka bean, cardamom, and ginger. The strongest of the notes are the wild rose and ginger. The wild rose note is very in-your-face floral, but in a masculine way. In some other fragrances I've reviewed the florals can come across very unisex or even feminine leaning, but that's not the case here. It's rosey for sure, but in a manly way. The ginger is spicy and tickles the nose, contrasting nicely with the sweet florals from the rose. This is followed by the cardamom and tonka bean. The cardamom is your typical designer offering, adding it's telltale warmth and spiciness. The tonka bean is very archetypal as well, bringing its signature powdery sweetness in the background. All of the notes in the opening work together very nicely and compliment each other well. Dry down is powdery, warm, and woody. The primary notes I get are tonka bean, nutmeg, cedar, and woodsy notes. The strongest of the notes are the tonka bean and nutmeg. The tonka bean has the same sweet and powdery accord from the opening, while the nutmeg blends in a warm spiciness for contrast. This is followed by the cedar and woodsy notes for a masculine and woody foundation.

Performance:
Initial projection is moderate at around arms length. Sillage is moderate with a noticeable scent trail. After a few hours the projection was within arms length and light, and the scent trail was gone. The fragrance was a skin scent shortly thereafter.

When to wear:
This is a fall/winter fragrance that would be suitable for daytime or evening wear. This could be a safe pick for the office as well as on a date. It's light and unobtrusive, but still grabs attention.

Blind buy:
This is a safe blind buy if you like masculine florals and powdery fragrances. Just keep in mind you'll need to re-apply it every couple of hours.

Final verdict:
As a fragrance collector having sampled many different scents from all price points I can safely say that my palate has grown from what it was 20 years ago. That being said, I still love this fragrance. Perhaps not enough to say it's "the best thing in the world" like I did as a teenager, but it's still a great scent. I only wish that it would last longer; a couple of hours is not enough for most people, myself included. If this fragrance had better performance I would absolutely mark it down as a "love", but unfortunately it falls short and I just can't justify spending the money on a full bottle. It'll always hold a place in my heart, though.

Me personally I really like this Frangrance for the price it is great I love the smell of this.

VilianM.

Nothing unique about it. Trash performance, trash scent. Smells like a 1 euro aftershave. Absolute tragedy.
Smells like an old man with dusty old suit going to the local supermarket to buy onions.

This fragrance is a hidden gem. Yes, it could be seen as a "mid" fragrance, but I think its deserves more appreciation than that. I got this fragrance as a gift for christmas a few years ago and it will stay close to my heart for a long time. The opening is amazing with a strong, fresh and sophisticated ginger mixed with cardamom and citrus notes. Once it dries down a bit, you get a feel for the rose and powdery notes that to some, may be seen as feminine, which is true in a sense, but burberry does a great job making this work well for men. Its a very cozy, smooth, sexy fragrance that was also rated by women as one of the sexiest fragrances for men to wear. The only drawbacks of this fragrance is the very average performance and longevity. I find it only lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin and about 6-7 on clothes. The projection isnt great either, only projecting for about 1-2 hours before becoming a small scent bubble around you, but this is a great scent for a date night on a cold and cozy winter evening. I find this also works for school or the office as its pretty inoffensive and tame and overall very mass appealing. The best part of this fragrance however, is the price tag. I think a 100ml bottles goes for around $120 in retail stores, but you can buy this on amazon or other places for about $90 or cheaper.
If your looking for something smooth, warm, spicy and sophisticated, this is a great option for you.
Overall, I gibve this a 7/10, and it would be higher if the longevity and performance were a bit better.
Thanks for reading, hope you have a great day!

Please can anyone tell me in pm the difference between the FOR HIM version and the FOR MEN version? Many thanks!

Burberry Brit was Dior Homme before Dior Homme. No iris note in Burberry Brit but the first to bring the powdery metro style fragrance to the masses. Won the FIFA award in 2005 then Dior copied its style. Brit is still a great fragrance and for what you can get it for a it’s a no brainer. It’s still as good as it always was.

Robert Peck1

Burberry Brit is alright, it is fresh and floral and has a bit of spice.

Since there is a known reformulation and bottle change, there should be a separate page for Burberry Brit for Him.

PistolPete

Awesome spicy rose scent, but the projection is terrible on my skin

chowder.man

It's just ok.

Powdery being at the very bottom of the accords here is a fucking crime. This thing is powdery as hell, but in a surprisingly manly way. Unfortunately, powdery and spicy do not mix well, and this thing can be really cloying to me.

KokuBombasi

DapperDon

Wowww 😮 first 1.5hrs… Tom Ford Noir edt w/o mint + noticeable citrus & lighter on the dusty musk. Not as rugged.

You get the warm spices wrapped in a cloud of powdery/ dusty musky rose. Just like Noir, there’s a animalic touch lingering. A tad fresher with Burberry, but the ingredients in Noir seem of higher quality.

Within 1hr the scent dies down light, warm, fresh & powdery.
Scent is practically gone in under 3hrs. May have to use 6+ sprays (The batch I have).

benkim

This is a review of the older designed bottle; I did try wearing the newer designed bottle and did not notice any discernible characteristics between the old and the new.

This on my skin is a dominantly rose fragrance with powdery and warm spicy aspects. The powdery facets along with the musk strongly reminds me of the baby powder (or the concept of baby powder). The oriental spices just sprinkles it to make it leaning towards slightly more masculine. If someone told me this is a unisex fragrance, then I will nod my head in agreement however.

It is weird to say it, but this fragrance is a black pea coat with a cashmere muffler in a bottle, if that makes sense. It hugs you and radiates warmth around you (conceptually obviously).

Lasts a decent amount of time with a decent scent bubble around; Affordable. Classic. Versatile as soon as it gets chilly outside.

richmilton

@Dannatello Loose fitting caps are common in perfumery because the cap is often a different manufacturer than the bottle manufacturer. That's why "Testers" usually don't have a cap and is offered at a lower price. Tip: You can make the cap fit tighter by placing some removable clear tape around the stem of the atomizer. You won't see the tape with the cap on and it will fit tight enough to lift the bottle up from the cap.

schmooschmoo

Possibly my favorite Burberry scent. I really don't understand why so many people don't like it, unless it's because it's something a little different. Warm, creamy, a little sweet. A gentle, quiet, cozy vibe. Branded by some as mature, but disagree. I think this is rather youthful in a refined way. Tried this the first time in '08, and it automatically appealed to me. Classy and very British, but casual. Very "in the moment" kind of scent from the time period in which it was launched. Like other contemporaries launched during this time, like Fierce, Code and Obsession Night, this will always be a love for me.

1/30/24: If you love the sweet, creamy, musky, solar note of this scent, you might want to give another Coty scent a try that is very similar. Grand Canyon: Land of the Free. Even more pronounced, and better performance, too.

Dannatello

WHY did they make the lid/cap NOT fit the bottle? It just sits loosely as if it belongs to a different bottle. This bothers me.

Carobean

I recently reordered this perfume after not smelling it for well over a decade. I don't know... it seems different. Or, maybe I'm different. It used to be my signature scent, now I don't even recognize it. I know it's a masculine perfume, but I loved it so much I didn't care and wore it all the time. These days it just smells like wood, the same as most other male fragrances.

Satumaarit

Such a positive surprise! Delicious and full, so well made and long lasting. I love sweet perfumes and patchouli so this is my dream version of a spicy perfume. I think it’s more for the ladies.

Dannatello

Very feminine to me. I get orange rind and rose, and something sour and sharp resinous almost like the stink of euonymus flowers, there is a scent here that is very familiar, but it's name is eluding me, I struggle to place it. Almost citronella.

VilianM.

It's not a safe blind buy. It smells too much like an older gent, don't ever think getting this if you are under 40. Good price point and good silage, but you have to really try it before buying!

coonhound

First Pass - Predominantly rose water. There's something else lurking under the surface but I can't quite put my finger on it. Ginger? Cedar? Something slightly spicy/woody

1 Hour Later - The rose is still very strong, but now there is a faint sweetness. Almost like maple syrup. Whatever spicy/woody note I picked up before has vanished

Yet another "men's" cologne that leaves me scratching my head as to who the audience is supposed to be...

***Scents, like tastes, are subjective. Wear what you like***

svenolafson6

Mandarin and bergamot, rose in the heart and Tonka bean from the begging is what you get here.and you get a very alluring fragrance.nothing smells like it.i tried it after so many years and i still like it, its classic now.2004 and later was an era with great perfumes created ,perfumers were trying to experiment.well this experiment has succeed. who ever thought to match these ingredients? underrated scent, mainly bcs. its not for everyone!

nicholassua

I have no ideas why this fragrance reminds me of Christmas time

cozy, festive and youthful
cant wait Christmas to wear

moondawn

this was on my wishlist for some time, but it turned out to be rather underwhelming buy. it's certainly pleasant enough, but in the end too light for my taste. I'm smelling it on my left hand while having deodorant on my right and it's already obvious it won't keep up even with simple deodorant. in general, colder weather scents should never, never be so subtle. your body is already covered with so many layers of clothes that it makes fragrances like Brit almost undetectable. if someone actually manages to smell it on you, he will certainly find it pleasant, but why settle for this? you may as well use Avon fragrances then.

I like this house and there are better choices even if we focus purely on Burberry fragrances. Brit Rhythm Intense is an actual cold weather fragrance and it performs much, much better, while Touch is equally light in terms of a scent profile, but has much better performance as well. Brit just can't compare.

so... this isn't even a "like" I'm afraid. shame.

person of colorado

surprised someone gave 7/10 for the bottle, if this is a 7 what do you consider a 10? I say no designer effort went into the bottle, none of that designer money went into this. I get it that it's supposed to depict some sort of checkered flannel shirt print, but when you get the 30ml edition, you'll see a fraction of that. And why is it devoid of any colour, is it meant for men not to have emotions? It is like Shang Tsung did a fatality and sucked all the life out of this bottle. And so far I get it that they tried to simplify the design, but could you have least have the title and brand embedded on the sides, or on the sides of the cap? Practical it isn't either because the square cap doesn't fit anymore. It is no fair why there are so many outstanding and gimmicky perfume bottle designs when I check collections on r/perfumes each day and then they come up with this? In the past when I was a child, I refused to buy Scritti Politti and Pet Shop Boys records, even though I liked their music, the cover art counts as well. If you are familiar with Actually and Songs to Remember sleeve art cover, then you know exactly what I mean.

A cross between Granny's makeup bag, covered in baby powder.....and ..... A newly opened box of disposable baby diapers, covered in baby powder. If you're into smelling like that, more power to ya. You do you.

Burberry Brit for Men

Burberry Brit (in short it's known as BB) is a very affordable and inexpensive perfume that debuted almost 2 decades ago and in 2005 won FiFi Award Fragrance Of The Year Men`s Luxe 2005. Almost a classic but underrated definitely.

It opens with some heavy use of ginger, cardamon and cirtrus and is warm spicy and peppery, at the same time the opening seems more linear as the heart notes of powdery rose and woodiness, especially heavy use of cedarwood are there too and it includes muskiness and sweet tonka. However, the mass appeal designers dna/vibe is there after the initial sprays.  It doesn't smell niche but it doesn't smell cheap either.  So in general, it's a warm spicy rose cedar scent.

Performance wise it has moderate projectivity and silage, lasts about 5-7 hours depending on weather conditions. The good thing is once this settles on the skin after 10-20 minutes, it is rather subtle despite the initial opening being rather loud and overwhelming so you can put in more sprays and wait for it to settle. After it settles, you'll be having a lovely beautiful rose, cedar and tonka with some spiciness.

Burberry Brit isn't worn by many so wearing this you are sure to smell different out there. It's suitable for all weather and all settings. That said, get past that initial sweetish loud mass appeal designers opening and you have a very quality underrated beautiful rose cedar combo with a lovely sexy drydown.

An inexpensive bottle that every man should try to have in their perfume inventory.

jjjooonnn

One of the first "What is that?" frags. I smelled/wanted due to its interesting Roise and Cedar smells.

Good scent, but I decided not to reorder due to more prominent ones in collection.

Ed_Lanz

I find this as a very comforting fragrance, a slightly fresh opening that evolves into a clean and soft fragrance. It has a high resemblance to the smell of baby powder, but done in a nice way, that feels classy and sophisticated. I think it is a great scent for everyday use when the weather is not too hot. It is subtle, nothing too heavy, and very inoffensive, so it is a solid option for closed spaces, including the office. Completely unisex in my opinion, as it just gives a really clean sensation, it is a good option for whenever you want to use something pleasant but not too noisy.

Classic citrus and powdery rose blend harmoniously with modern oriental spices. Accessible and well crafted, it represents refined heritage in today's culture. I think it's an overlooked gem, Burberry Brit. The start of strong citrus and ginger evolves into a warm blend of rose, cedar and tonka bean. The modest projection settles into a gentle fragrance bubble. Lasts 7 hours, slightly persistent. A unisex fragrance, Burberry Brit challenges traditional masculinity. It is tasteful, elegant and unique. A dandy, a gentleman's choice. A standout fragrance in Burberry's range. Its unisex nature is revealed over time. Olive complements his complexion. Rose, spices and tonka stand out.

Whateverwhocares

Decent, clean, warm frag. Pleasant cardamom-dominant spicy scent, but nothing special. Good multifaceted wear if you don’t have or want anything more interesting. Weak concentration. Basic. I have a 10mL decant and I doubt I’ll ever get through it.

flem

The opening is definitely rose-forward, but doesn't come across as too feminine. I also get patchouli and cedar. It’s bright, but a little spicy and soft. Kind of calming. Makes me think of a forest green-colored cashmere couch in a slightly dark room. The only light is coming through a single red curtain covered window.

The middle is very similar but with less rose and more patchouli. Muskier, but still bright and slightly spicy.

Drys down to mostly a floral patchouli note. Though, there is a musky, vanilla-y sweetness which is nice. Very quiet and close to the skin. It is better/more interesting than the opening, though.

Nothing too remarkable. Safe and inoffensive for a guy that likes to be subtle. Best during cooler months and in business environments.

ROUSAK

Smell like Johnson and Johnson baby powder. It smells nice, and clean. 7.5 /10

Bertes

I absolutley love the opening. I don't get any of the "warm spicy" accords. For me it smelled like rain, that came into my mind. Of course if i think about it it , it has nothing to do with petrichor, but for me it's the smell of spring. Fresh, a little bit peppery and because of the rose, floral and sophisticated. It's high quality and smells natural in a very good way. Sadly it died within 2 hours, the tonka drydown is barely a skinscent on me.
Amazing opening, but because of the bad longevity, i would't buy it.

Perfumaniac

If you visited Dubai or other cities in the Middle East - you should remember a specific aroma coming from the incense that they burn called BAKHOOR.
This fragrance remind me of that beautiful unique Arabic scent.
A win for winter season. Highly recommended.

Flatoutchad

I absolutely love this scent. Maybe I'm biased as this was the first scent that got me into a huge obsession. I think it's classy, sophisticated, not too heavy, not too light. Work, rest, play, wear this all day. Night as well. You never hear this get talked about. I see they made a new bottle as my last one has about 30% left, and I've smelled the new bottle at a Boscov's and it packed a lot compared to the bottle I have. It's my go-to fragrance.

I also can see why it's got the average rating they do here.

CreepyKid

Grabbed a sample of Brit and it's nothing but barber's talc/baby powder. From the first spray to the dry down it's sweet musky powder, powder, and more powder. I was expecting some rose, citrus, spice, or other notes that are listed but nothing of the sort ever appeared. Not for me but it may work for others if they like powdery fragrances. Lasts a good amount of time and projects well so there's that going for it. It just reminds me too much of Shower to Shower and other bathroom/barber shop powders that were around in the 80s and 90s.

heavyindustry

Right away, I get aromatic lavender and vanilla. There's a little bit of sage to add to the aromatic facets. It's a very nice sweet scent, mass appealing, yet some what hard to find nowadays. Mild vetiver and woodiness comes through in the base, ambroxan helps the scent stick around for 4-5 hours. Very clean, unique scent, something I would look out for if I saw some spare bottles for sale. Predominate scent is the lavender-tonka-amber accord, not particularly masculine but very unique. Above average performance with good longevity, present on skin for over 6 hours. Can get whiffs of it when I least expect it. Don't expect monster performance, but definitely worth sampling if you get the opportunity. Very much prefer this scent to other masculine designers.

pepperysaurus

I don't know what this says about the fragrance, but I, a female, remember my brother wearing this for maybe a year during college (when we were roommates). At the time, I liked it, and I remember thinking that I wanted it too. Now, about 15 years later, I finally do!

At the time (2007/8), I was really into With Love by Hilary Duff (sweet, woody, warm spicy), Stelly by Stella McCartney (fresh yet ambery rose), and Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka (sweet green magical fairy powder). Now that I think about it, it makes sense that I like this one too, especially after the zingy freshness of the top notes settle down a little.

If anyone likes at least two of the fragrances I mentioned for the reasons that I highlighted, don't hesitate to pick this cheapie up for yourself. Or, if you're looking to buy a gift for someone and you know they like the fragrances I mentioned, maybe they'll like this one too!

Beardninja1

I bought this on a blind buy. A lot of people have compared this to "the best baby powder you'll ever smell". I can attest that it does have an immediate powdery onset, but for me, that shortly fades after about 15-20 mins. Being an EDT, you may need to go on slightly heavier with the sprays. I don't think it's a bad scent at all, in fact, I think it's a mature fragrance reminiscent of a fresh cut at a barber shop. I also find it masculine and nice. It's a "discovery fragrance", so if you're on a date and she's close to you, she'll definitely get a subtle, gentle hit of what this has to offer. All in all, I can recommend this as a fall and winter fragrance. And the score I'll give it is 5.5/10.

Olivet09!

Burberry Brit is an amazing warm fragrance for men. It has a level of spice and sophistication that lasts all day and through the night. The beauty of this fragrance is that it is not worn by everyone so you’re sure to smell unlike your friends and coworkers around you. It is a wonderful winter fragrance if you are into seasonal fragrances and it’s great for evening for a refined night out.

Toyboy38

For those who are interested before buying.
After this settles around the 10-15 min mark. It's a pure nutmeg and cardamom scent.

It's a simple scent but also smells natural.

RLB1979

I'll be honest, I was expecting much from this when I bought but I will say I am pleasantly surprised this is pretty good for $30 price range as I found it at a rack store, It's warm, sweet (older fragrance sweet not sickly sweet like men's current fragrances) powdery, woody and has a nice rose note in it, It's a safe fragrance for sure as most Burberry fragrances are, but its age and older throwback feel make it different enough that it sets itself apart from most of the current fragrances, so if you want a sweet masculine safe gentlemen fragrance this is a good one and it has decent longevity and projection as well

Filosykos

I have the older plaid painted bottle that was made in house by Burberry. It's very strong I wore it to the gym and got a complaint lol.
I wonder if the Coty version is this good. The current bottles of London are really good so maybe this is the same...
You need to let this macerate for a year as it seems quiet and weak at first. Believe me after a year it's much stronger and long lasting.

gravescent

Cheap and good, great for it's price in my opinion. Was a blind buy, and do not regret it. I feel like it's not a everyday frag, first can't really use it in winter as it wears off pretty quick, never tried it in summer time but I imagine it would be too warm. So mostly just fall. Highly suitable for business meetings and such things. The first 10-20 minutes after spraying smells quite overwhelming but it gets a lot better after that. I also feel like this is some what close to D&G The One, but interestingly enough I like this fragrance more. Lasts about 2-3 hours with medium projection before it becomes a skin scent. Smells a lot like sweet roses and woody at the same time. Also feel like this would be a better choice for older people than young.

ry_ta

I'm starting to wonder if people here are getting drastically different formulations. The older version I suspect is nowhere near the same.

Overall it's a very inoffensive powdery fragrance that is rose-dominant and tonka bean dominant. It's nice but definitely not a must-buy. It's more of a day-time fall scent as it's a bit weak for the winter, and too warm for hot weather. Ideal time to wear this would be a coffee date or business meeting during the fall and maybe early spring. It's subtle, and pretty unisex. It strikes me as very seasonal.

I do like this quite a bit, and maybe the dry down later in the day will change my mind, but I just can't see myself spending $110 CAD on it at full retail. Maybe $70 at a discounters if I had a nice collection and wanted to add more, but I see no reason why this should be in anyone's collection if they have under 5-10 fall fragrances (unless you really like it).

Edit: after the day, it lasted only a few hours off of 6 sprays. Silage and performance similar to The One, but not as good of a scent. Not a re-buy.

tanaC

Oct 2, 2022 - So I own new version, the one with BOLD font.
I am blind buy this and it quite underwhelmed.

I imagine D&G The One vibe, EROS Flame vibe (Strong spice) with Strong Wet Rose like Toy Boy

When I wear, it is quite not spice at all. It opens citus and mild candamon. Much milder than Eros flame / D&G the one. No peppery.

Before it is covers with rose that a bit dry. Then become dense woody powdery Musk.

It’s mild Warm spice winter-spring fragrance
It has dirty clean vibe and not complicated.
It’s soft spoken, lovely, compromise personality.

But if u are masculine, I would go with Yves Rocher one by same perfumer instead. (And rose their are a bit prominent with strong wood but very similar vibe).

It’s not strong (4.5 hours on skin)
But projection is OK.

6/10 (might like it when the time is right).

I give it a few try on colder month, it’s powdery rose fragrance that quite old school, mild spicy make it linger and warm, faint dry rose comes to play and it their. The base is powdery musky and extremely mild woody.

It’s kinda suitable on casual day in colder month / rain season. It’s has adult theme and trustable (still lovely, soft-spoken and compromise)

My rating remains the same
6/10

I wears it a bit more and I crystallize to find it smells “Auspicious”.

This fragrance grow on me a bit, it's ok but I won't wear this everyday.
rather reserve for Church or Wedding.

My rating change from 6/10 to 6.5/10

This is wried, I keep getting back to this maybe it's scent profile really match my like.
musky/barbershop scent with Rose just great for me.

I love Ginger, Cardamon, Orange, Rose and Tonga bean in general.

I can see myself repurchase as my taste starts to fade aways from strong spicy perfume.
But current 100 ml. could lasts probably many years to come.

I dis EROS Flame / D&G The One entirely and appreciate this more and it is milder.
But for other, I feel like this is best I can rate this fragrance.

As scent : 6.5/10
As personal preference : 8/10

I know, I go back and forth with this so much.
After I venture into niche fragrance once, after try TF White Suede.
(which is just musk, rose and leather), I finally have my conclusion that this is not bad after all.

This is quite dense semi-white musk scent with rose, with wood dry down.
This is not opaque, but not really transparent either. It's fall somewhere in the middle.

I would wear this in the colder month to finish the bath routine with something.
The same way with my conclusion on Comme une Evidence Homme Yves Rocher.

That one is rose water with green, spicy and woody.
This one is like other rendition with more spice, rose-water and musk dry down.

7/10.

robertandsheilaburke

Very powdery with some barbershop hints. I smell the rose, and it has an iris scent not listed. It is a gentleman's fragrance; not youthful, must have confidence to pull it off if you are young. I picture this scent on an older business man who where's a suit everyday. Not seeing this as a signature fragrance, but if you only had this one to wear, it would work during the cooler months.

GeorgeBailey

This was the first fragrance I ever bought. Powdery rose and tonka… I used to experience this as peppery zing but I don’t experience the spiciness as much anymore.

These days I want to smell refined and exclusive, whereas this is more a fragrance you’re likely to smell at the bus stop due to availability at Marshall’s etc. I never wear it anymore, although sometimes spray on the bath towels for nostalgia.

BootneyLee

This was the 1st cologne I actually was commented on. The comment was 'OMG you smell good." I think it was here that got me into the fragrance world. I loved her very much, but it didn't work out, mostly because I was still a foolish boy, and she was a woman. I still keep a dab of this to remind myself of how I fucked up.....

Laliqua

Burberry Brit - Is slightly sweet, nice enough to wear.

GetGUD

Aside from London, I'm not big on Burberry. I find, at least their men's perfumes, they come off a lot more scratchy & alcoholic than my taste will allow. Because of that, it took me entirely way too long to smell this one.

I smelled the older & newer side by side (though I smelled the newer a few hours earlier) and I much prefer the newer, something that I don't think I've ever said about a reformulated perfume.

Starts off a little (just a tad) spicy/warm for the first few minutes. But within 10 or so, to me, it's all about the Rose. This beautiful, powdery, almost jammy Rose, that has backing from the spices & woods. But that Rose to me is maybe my favourite Designer Rose. I'm sure there's Niche offerings (Lyric Man comes to mind, though I've never smelled that one) that are nicer. But for a relatively inexpensive Designer perfume, the Rose in Brit for Men is stunning. I definitely need to get a bottle of this for when the weather cools a bit.

Denimtuxedo

This is Tommy's older brother. If you grew up wearing Tommy, give this a shot. The rose is more creamy/powdery and less aquatic in this, but can be worn year round. If you only own one burberry, this is the one.

Farhat300

got the older bottle with the vertical/horizontal stripes. amazing for fall/winter; warm, woody, and cozy scent

Dawnyallah

Old version, reminds me of Moschino Uomo, with a muskier barber shop vibe. Too musky for the hotter weather and to me, the musk drowns out the whole scent pyramid (pretty much, from start to almost finish--5 hrs).

It may grow on me, but it seems fairly non-complex. It could be used as a decent layering accord, where a gray musk is welcomed.

BabyTeaLeaf

Smells like a cool and suave business man who went camping in the woods.

thecoffeeslayer

rosey freshie with some spice. It's nice, could be worn to the office. In fact, I think I've smelled this on coworkers. I guess it's been a background scent I couldn't place. Now I know.

Napasonoma

I love this as compared to the older formulation, I was surprised when I smelled this. It is a little more on the sweeter side and has a nice start-mid-finish. More of a complex scent and smells very natural and not a blast of alcohol in the beginning at all. Anytime or anyplace, but in hotter weather I would suggest nighttime or air conditioning. Little better than average performance, but I find this true with most Burberry. So if you buy this it is a new reformulation, for me better, but I would say try before you buy. So I must have the older one mine is made in France.

The Winged Horse

Just beautiful. One of my favourite fragrances for men - I love the feeling I get when I wear this one. Rose, powder, musk, a hint of bergamot-style citrus. And not a girly rose smell either. Elegant, very English, refined. Picture a suited man holding a rose and this is what he'd smell like. Longevity is 2-4 hours - reapply if you must! Cheap as chips and well worth adding to your collection, or a starting point for a man on a budget.

Smellgood8333

Yumemakura The best comment on here. So true I thought the same when I smelled this new reformulation. Just bring back the old.

Djedi

Sampled from the older plaid bottle. Bright and zingy opening with cardamom and ginger, quickly followed by a subdued spicy heart. The rose is light and airy, almost unperceptible. I enjoy this one, next to Touch probably the best Burberry scent. There is also some powdery tones in here but nothing really drastic as in the classic DH. It smells synthetic at times (nondescript sweetness) but the notes are balanced well and it kind of works in this scent. Overall, a well made spicy ginger-rose scent which, even though from 2004, smells modern to this day.

The performance is poor on my skin unfortunately, with restrained sillage. Not sure how the newer formulations hold up, but I wouldn't be surprised if even this release is butchered in some way.

Reviewing for BB FOR HIM wmade in France, clear cap bottle batch code 902502. Made 1/25/2019.

My signature scent as of now. Very clean, vanilla-powdery fresh. Moderate longevity and sillage. Nice compliment getter. You can wear this in fall and winter, casual or dressed up. Not very good for warmer weather.

Great fragrance that should be added to your collection.

JetBlvck

Had a bunch of samples of this which were great, you got a nice fresh & clean fragrance with good projection. So I picked up a bottle when stumbled upon one at a Discount retailer (Marshall’s) and, unfortunately, it was almost entirely different. Instead I get a strong citrus cleaning product opening from this bottle and then it gradually turns into the fresh clean powdery scent, but its so weak that you really have to over spray. My bottle does say Made in France and has a clear cap, like other commentators have mentioned, but there is no “Brit” on either side of it. It could possibly be a different reformulated batch or has gone bad, but it’s strange how different the samples were compared to it. Disappointed because I do enjoy Burberry’s fragrances.

richmilton

@Yumemakura is right! Look for the older "Burberry Brit" with a different plaid bottle and clear cap. It should say "Burberry Brit" vertically down one side of the bottle. On the bottom it should say Made In France by Burberry Limited.

Stay clear from the made in Germany ones. It's not a pleasant scent. The original though is one of the best Burberry fragrances in their entire line. If not the best.

Warmbroodje

This reminds me of L' Instant pour homme edt by Guerlain, wich I gave to my boyfriend but love to wear myself now and then.
Maybe Brit is a little softer. Unisex for sure.

ssamhita

I used to believe, in my naivety, that women should only wear perfumes meant for women. I know better now of course. Which is why when the husband refused to wear this one (not a fan of Tonka bean) I happily swooped it up. I think it is unisex enough for a woman to wear - not that I care. I would wear it even if it wasn’t just because it smells so good.

Burberry Brit for Him somehow reminds me of being in love during college and how I’d have wanted my boyfriend to smell this way. I somehow see this as a young perfume, the kind a young guy would wear on a date. I’d have loved for my clothes to smell like this after coming back from a date as a young girl. It starts off crisp and fresh but settles into a comfortable woody sweetness that I find so, so sexy.

Overall not exactly a trend breaker but definitely worth having in your collection.

anna1987

Smells really nice, calm, mysterious, masculine but not sharp, it‘s rather soft. British elegance, very wearable, nothing too complex but still a bit deep.
I prefer this to Prada l‘homme, this is an underrated fragrance. Love it.

M1tsouko

At first with brit, i get a tobacco scent with lavender then I get the cedar and mandarin. Somehow this is making my mouth water lol. It smells like a manly ring pop.

SIRRYANROYCE

Brit has a bold opening with a huge burst of ginger & citrus, enveloped by a cloud of powdery rose and light musk, a bouquet that is borderline cloying, BUT has so much oomph that it commands your attention. The opening is the most interesting stage. I imagine Pepé Le Pew liberally spraying this from a perfume pump spray bottle.

Dry down is pleasant, but its overshadowed by the intoxicating opening (or nauseating depending on your taste). Brit is linear, which doesn’t help given the imbalance of its opening and dry down. It’s like watching the finale of a fireworks show at the start of the show rather than at the end.

Brit is unisex with a unique scent profile dominated by ginger, citrus, rose, and light musk. It is great in cold weather, especially on sunny winter days when it’s frigid out with snow on the ground, the scent is uplifting. However, I’m always left with the feeling of wanting more as soon as the opening is gone.

Score: 7 out of 10

Would I purchase a replacement bottle? No, sadly I would not miss this bottle if it were gone.

Sweet/Spicy/Powdery
The stuff is good. I hear people always talking down about the house of Burberry, but I've been impressed with the few that I've smelt.
Brit is really a great, underrated, scent. I think it's completely versatile. It could be used at the office, on a date, or just casually. I'd keep it for like like a cool spring day or colder, but I think it works most of the year.
I get above average performance and pretty good projection for the first hour or two.
I really don't know what's not to love about this.

Melodiarose82

I swear, Angel by Thierry Mugler forever has turned me off from similar spicy scents. This has an Angel vibe to me.. :/ I'm smelling this on my own (feminine) skin. Maybe it might be different on the skin of a warm salty man! Haha. Nevertheless, it's not meant for my chemistry. I love the vintage Burberry Brit for her. Obviously, that's quite different. She's super sweet, but not in that modern cheap confectionery way.

As for Burberry Brit for him (vintage version), to my nose, on a female, it's not feminine at all. Not a like from me. Again, I'd like to smell it on a man and see if my reaction would change. The initial blast is Angel vibe, gingerbread like, all the way. The spice softens though, and I actually am starting to like it. Might smell fantastic on masculine skin after the top note fades!

A few moments later.. the dry down is kind of sexy. (When thinking of it on a man). It's almost making me hungry. I want to bite into a guy's flesh. Hmm.. Well, OK then.. Unexpected carnal reaction...!

gkanary

Can’t believe that I passed by this one. I definitely think it’s one of Burberry’s finest fragrances, right up there with London. The rose is fantastic and to my nose settles in with a nice powdery dry down. Has a very classic, British feel to it. Longevity and silage are quite good. Very versatile but really seems suited for an elegant night out with that special one. Don’t pass by this one like I did. I know that a second, third bottle, is definitely on the horizon.

KempMcArthur

A classic refined scent with just the right touch of modernity. I do find that after the initial opening it becomes mostly the rose, woody notes, but also some powdery touches. A great everyday scent, but it can also work for special occasions.

forjeangouds

I can't stand this. The notes read well, but all I get is eye-watering, unnatural citrus on the edges that will not die down or go away. It hates my skin or hormones or something, but whatever it is, I cannot wear it. Sooooo pleased I did not pay for it. Reminds me of cheap/extremely average perfumes the local chemist sold when I was a child. It's as if I've smelled it a thousand times and not one of those experiences was pleasant. You can probably guess that this one is NOT for me.

AA4102

I owned a bottle many years ago, and this was gifted to me by someone I found to be interesting at the time as well. So this will always have a special place in my heart. Not gonna break down the notes here. Not going to talk about the performance or lack of it. I just truly enjoy this fragrance. Another one "for the nostalgia".

Delosisles

I’ve worn this since it’s inception in 2004. Now, the original formulation was indeed of better quality. I still love the current but it isn’t quite as good or long lasting. The original would, when you caught a slight breeze, signal a beautiful powdered rose when dried throughout the day just to remind you it was still there. At its best as a companion under melton wool outerwear on a cold wet gloomy day. This has a nice complexity and depth to it. Of course it holds a sentimental value for me so I love it and still come back to wearing it in season, every season.

Xeno

I have an old version, maybe the first release and i have to say its a fair product. Easily wearable and gets compliments. For my personal taste is ok, but not something special, that’s why I don’t wear it a lot!

B_Lindz

There's something about this scent that's really great and at the same time it smells like baby powder. I'm just glad I got this for free. It's not bad, but there are so many scents that are so much better than this one.

SweetPeaPea

This has been my signature scent since 2004. Been through several bottles. Very metrosexual, but a pleasing floral scent fit for a true gentleman. A bit powdery, but not overly feminine. My most recent bottle was made in Germany by Coty. To me it seems different.. more alcohol on the opening, eh longevity.. but I will allow it to sit in the cupboard and steep before I abandon all hope that one of my most beloved fragrances has been lost forever. I miss the original plaid bottle design too. My 2015 bottle made in France (new bottle design) still has a few mils left in it..seems like it has more depth, class and longevity. I ordered a vintage bottle off eBay mostly for old times sake. But I will test and see which one I prefer.

MagicalChild

The classy scent profile is very uplifting, exuding a faithful personality while its shy presence never fails to persist during the day, and the people coming to mind can only be described as gentle. Like gentle men.

andrew21885

Smells like pungent baby powder. Blind bought this and is a massive regret.

SprayLove

This is a modern gentleman fragrance. It's that man who carries a rose. It's romantic, contained yet young and effervescent. I'd wear that any time of the year though I think it fits winter better than the rest. Like a cold weather fresh scent. It's a bit spicy but mostly fresh and pleasing and the rose note is amazing and stay throughout the life of the fragrance. This is elegant and refined yet casual. It's also pretty cheap which shows that you can buy wonderful fragrances at a fair price. Definitely worth a try.

DavidPliskin

A great cold weather fragrance for day or night with a fresh and slightly warm feeling to it.

Fresh Mark Scents

Does anyone else get a Liquorice vibe from this perfume?
Its the mix of aromatic ginger, sweet cardamom, mildly spicy yet sweet wild flower and the 'spices' that have an anise star note are what remind me of Liquorice in its complete flavour, yet being very gentlemanly.

izsmells

I love this fragrance. I get a lot of rose and tonka bean. It's quite masculine without the generic and commercial woodsy and spicy notes. Rose and powdery. It is a very gentle and forgiving fragrance. Very versatile. I could wear this to the office or or on a date. This is definitely a fall/winter scent, day or night. Definitely a safe blind buy.

JonniePatron

This used to be my signature scent when it dropped in the mid 2000's. Just recently picked up a new bottle after not having it for the last 15 years. Still smells the same and performs well. Smooth powdery scent. I used to wear this every night in a hot humid environment. So the argument that certain fragrances are for certain times is BS. That only applies now because we are all into fragrances more than the average person. When we all first started we could careless. Wear what you want, when you want.

ION

A solid performer and one of the very few Burberry perfumes one is worth having.
Having said that, it doesn't do much the "Blue Jeans" by Versace doesn't do better (and with much more character).

ROBOTHUG

I remember first smelling this about 5 years ago and loving it.
I didnt know anything about performance back then, and i bought it in Bloomingdales.
$98
It was worth it.

I still have about 2% left and the juice has Soured.
It smells like Rubbing alcohol.

Also, why did they change the bottle design?
I loved that Black and white plaid design.

Padhee83

Brit for men was attractive and sophisticated .I said was because recently I have purchased the new bottle with different pattern,Coty Made in Germany version and I must say it is a bit underwhelming.Gone was the citrus opening and the baby powder drydown with woods. What we have today with the coty version is a very short citrus opening which lasts seconds, then we have some vanilla, rose and woods but seems as if the sequence of the notes have been changed. It is less powdery and more of a Tonka and rose combo.Woods are not prominent anymore and baby powder smell has been muted.
It has been remixed and not for good.
Longevity is ok,lasting 6 hours with moderate projection.Suitable for office and cold weather. Not for sweltering heat.
As long as Burberry fragrances were made in house,it was ok.As soon as coty took over, the fragrance has gone for a change.
My wife likes it but for me its meh!

RIP old Burberry Brit for men.Reincarnation has been underwhelming.

luluatte

I have a mixed feeling for Burberry Brit. I love the top notes and the drydown, but dislike the middle notes. The opening is spicy rose and quickly calm down to a powdery rose that reminds me of grandma's rose powder, old fashioned and comforting. After two hours, I mainly smell of milk with spice and pencil shaving. Even though its not similar, but it reminds me of Lolita Lempicka L.

NandosNOW

Love this one, good quality for the price. It's fresh, spicy, sweet and masculine. Dries down to a powdery rose, a bit feminine but I love it. Most of the notes dont disappear on clothes and stay on for days, always nice when I put my jumper on and smell it, it's like, yes I'll wear that today.

Ja85

I used to love this fragrance so much and I used to wear it everyday for years! I haven’t smelled it in 10 years now so I’m not sure if it’s reformulated. But from what I remember it gives you a sense of warmth, elegance and class. Basically London in a bottle.

Brightgood

This has a very acetone opening. It takes a while to dry down and it isn't so bad for a while. It has an overcast vibe about it which I like. But then comes the vanilla. Not a lot, but enough that I would have to give this a thumbs down.

Not a vanilla fan.

For anyone in the middle east region, this smells exactly like original Taj® washing powder. That's a good thing!

rithacha

My boyfriend gave me his unwanted bottle to sell or donate, and what a pleasant surprise that I'll be keeping this for myself! Thanks, honey!

Brit smells like rosebud petals over a fresh-spicy base (ginger, cardamom, lemony nutmeg). The overall impression is an expensive bar of soap, with facets of florals, exotic spices, benzoins, and incensey woods.

Brit is a transparent scent, coming and going like a sheer veil, revealing one aspect at a time before disappearing and returning with a different development. Sometimes I don't smell it on me at all, other times it projects in surprising ways. It reminds me a lot of Prada offerings (Amber and Infusion d'Homme) in its sophisticated transparency. It would be difficult to overspray this one, and works brilliantly in close quarters, because I don't see this getting cloying, monotonous, or overbearing.

I prefer this in the summer, because Brit doesn't perform for me without body heat. Also, it smells completely different on skin vs paper, and evolves quite a bit on skin, so I definitely recommend to test on yourself rather than a blotter.

Brit for Men is completely unisex, and a total sleeper outshadowed by more extroverted designer colognes getting all the hype. Oh well, more for those who know it ;)

bintTapputi

It's not bad! It's my favorite of the Burberry's I've tried recently. Clean and fresh, yes, but there is a nice spiciness to it that is very appealing. It has a pleasant refinement to it that for the cost of this fragrance is really nice to see. Very mild and well mannered. 5.5-6/10

Ambroxer

Gloomy is not a word that comes up a lot around here, but that’s a little what Burberry Brit is. This one pairs well with overcast days and dark clothing, preferably for the winter months. It’s very British, but could also be the official scent of the State of Ohio.

The scent itself is a powdery rose with a woody/Tonka base all shrouded in a fog of musk. A conservative scent to be worn by the man who is laconic and values tradition. Although perhaps moving towards being outdated in the greater scheme of things, Brit is soothing and sturdy. May be one to revisit in earnest while safer at home.

Hommage to a Victorian Rose (Antoine Maisondieu, 2004)

Bottle Design: Fabien Baron

A 21st century hommage to a Victorian rose. A charmingly sloppy dandy scent. Not easy to love due to the strong powdery character.
First notes of mandarin and ginger not so impressive, but powdery rose and musky-woody-sweet base are gorgeous. Soft and flowery gentleman. It possess some twisted British humor for cold and foggy days. Really appreciate Maisondieu's creative skills. Flankers of this Brit are forgettable.

P.S. This was a review for old style bottle.

nguyenvuhungvuong

I bought Brit Her for my sister and she loves it so much so I decide to buy this one for me. First time smelling this one I'm falling in love, and buying. Now I use it everyday and after a week it makes me headache. So sad a bout that and I have to give it away to my brother but still live this scent

Alienatedkid

I blind bought it base off of reviews, I usually like powdery fragrances and while it’s nice and done well, it doesn’t wow me. I pick it up now and then, mostly on rainy days, don’t know why.

richmilton

Gorgeous scent perfect for cold winter nights. Although there's no powder in the notes list it has a spicy baby powder and soapy vibe like a classic fougere. Nice manly gentlemanly fragrance that's unique enough to add in any rotation. Brit is the perfect name for this gem.

mjastudios

Not sure about others but I definitely smell the Tonka bean from the very beginning, sort of like "Armani Code Profumo for Men" lite! I really want to love these tonka bean fragrances but not sure they work on my skin. This cologne is definitely not long-lasting like Burberry Brit for Women, which I also own and which easily lasts all day.

If women tend to love it, that's great, but for me, the jury is still out on whether I would wear this over Burberry Brit for Women or Prada or Blue Jeans by Versace (which Burberry Brit for Women reminds me of - unisex scent).

Like another reviewer mentioned, try doubling up both Burberry BRIT fragrances at the same time (for men and women together).

hellogoddag

Very crisp powdery citrus scent!
I smell high levels of bergamot and ginger, gentle cardamom and roses mixed with vanilla (tonka bean), which gives the dominating powdery scent, I suppose.
It's easy to detect the notes, when knowing them, but the overall smell is so well composed.
It reminds me of earl grey tea and pancakes (bergamot and cardamom) - great and cozy on a rainy day

Def Julz

This is a good powdery rose scent. However I feel it is not strong enough for my taste. I’ve had it for a while and it’s collecting dust.

Spasticink

YSL L'Homme Ultime is a cousing of Brit :)

Hector1922

One of my top 10 men fragrances

gman298429

Definitely a fragrance for a very regal, distinguished, Conservative gentleman that's looking to let you know he is in charge and means business. Perfect for the office. Very smooth, powdery, and non-offensive. A perfect British fragrance. Solid 8/10.

gorjan78

Nice...

Bfreepro417

Beautiful scent, I find this would excel as a nighttime/fall and winter scent. It’s delectable and mature. This is not a run of the mill fragrance, and young men will probably find it too powdery. I absolutely love it, it just reeks of class and sophistication, while staying contemporary and fresh/spicy, balanced out by the deep, powdery wild rose, it’s not offensive or dated, but definitely a mature and sophisticated, gorgeous scent. Just try it out before you buy it, it’s very unique and it’s sweet yet spicy, powdery yet fresh. I normally would not consider myself liking a powdery scent but damn, this one is just good, kind of a nostalgic barbershop scent (but not cheap and dated). I definitely feel Mr. Burberry is more versatile, yet Brit is much better for nights and cooler weather, it truly is a very comforting, nostalgic, relaxing scent! All in all I find Brit to be a fantastic offering, and to me this is the definition of a barber shop scent, as it’s very, very powdery... yet still sexy and mysterious. It’s very unique and that gets extra points as well.

8/10 , just a bit too powdery, but very good, I love rose ...

carfreak715

super good frag. you definitely smell the citrus, rose, cedar, and ginger with this one. you do get a very defined, full bodied smell with it ending with the powdery rose like others mention. its very fresh which would certainly work in the spring but also carries a certain je ne sais quois that just utters sophistication with a hint of playfulness to it. this can certainly be worn by people of all ages, and certainly can be worn day and night.

Santos89

Brit is the grandfather of my favorite Burberry scent, Brit Rhythm Intense, and that DNA shows in the original.

It opens with a quite bright yet powdery citrus/ginger accord. It's not acidic, instead it comes across as sweet.

Then it progresses to a very nice rose note. The rose is waxy and oily, giving the scent some real depth.

Rather than overload the rose with other notes, the perfumer very wisely decided to capitalize on the waxy powdery effect, and enhance the rose with tonka bean and a hint of woods.

Once Brit reaches it's drydown, you are presented with a waxy, slightly oily, powdery rose scent.

It's not powdered in a dated sense, instead Brit's powder effect is similar to Le Male's.

Personally I find that Brit was perfected by the Rhythm Intense flanker. It was a darker and gloomier take, which in my opinion is a perfect way to treat rose.

If you come across a bottle of Brit, I recommend you give it a try.

Longevity is good - 7-8 hours.

Burberry with it's "cheapish" squared bottles and such. Boring and uninspired bottle, good sprayer, yeah yeah..

This smells British. Like if I bottled a British smell, here you go. I don't mean that as a slight. It smells gentlemanly. Living in a tropical American climate, I long for days of a coat, where this would be amazing. Powdery rose but not realistic, a laundry type of powdery rose. Normally that's a horrible "no"... But here, it's so pleasant, even sexy. Clean, powdery with a hint of mystery. This is a great scent and it's easy to see why Burberry has opted to keep it around. Since I have smelled this one, I've been looking for a masculine, powdery rose like it. No luck. Burberry Brit is unique and very romantic.

Performance is okay. 4-5 hours. It is a very linear scent, which is fine. It smells great. All ages. Casual, romantic. just wish I could find a good alternative.

soned

Described perfectly by many below. The mix of ginger and rose do create a powdery feel. No wet rose, but more dark. Then moved into the more warm sweet at the dry down. Very differently indeed from what is started from. Longevity on me is good, 8-9 hours, and projects for about 2. This is a very different scent from what you may be sniffing lately across the board. But that is precisely why this is a great scent, because you simply smell different from the pack. Very different!.

mateuszolech072

Burberry Brit Revisited, some time ago when I was madly in love with Burberry, I had Burberry Brit Summer Edition wich is more citrusy and brighter version of original. Now I have classic version, there is something that strongly reminds me about English Earl Grey, spicy, aromatic, maybe it's not best quality perfume, but nice, inoffensive, elegant and timeless and... I'am quite sentimental about it and about Burberry even if it is different brand now. Classic perfumes from this house are really good wich I can't say about Mr. Burberry... I know that Burberry Her isn't groundbreaking or high quality, but again it is pleasant perfume.

CreepyPumpkinHead

Blind buy because it was heavily discounted. Scent is just Ok on me, mostly soapy with some other notes in the background. I won't be wearing this much (back of the shelf). I feel its more of a spring fragrance than a winter.

pamelalasalle110

I bought this for my husband, but being quite heavy on the rose scent he pays it little attention. Me on the other hand... I find that a spritz or two along with My Brit for women (EDP or EDT) make the most beautiful, proper, British babies. If you are lucky enough to own the 2 of these give it a try.

Carlitos

I am far from being a strong lover of an heavy rose perfume. Yet, with Burberry Brit I falled in love since the first whiff.
The opening starts with a fair amount of perennial citrus spiced by green cardamom - Nice but common!
But the heart bursts with a strong powdery dark wild rose. This accord is particularly alluring and enjoyable. The fragrance becomes a bit unisex with this scent although the woody and spicy frame around it keep the necessary masculine vibe. The alluring rose reigns in the bottom phase still, but you can feel that there is added sweetness in the scent, together with some muskiness and bolder woody notes.
For the drydown you get a very pleasant dark rose, together with a sweet and woody accord, but not really for a long time - up to 6~7 hours. With 2 sprays, It projects fairly for one hour up to 3~4 feet radius. It is quite elegant but also discrete.
It still surprises me how much I like this rose scent. I felt I had to ask external opinions to better understand this fragrance footprint.
- 3 women aged 17, 27 an 50 years old, confirmed me that it was a very sexy perfume, very agreable on a men and not really feminine despite the floral strong scent. One opinion was funny: "It smells like a Coco perfume for men". All of them would like to smell it on a man in almost any situation but specially in leisure situations at home.
- 3 men aged 18, 28 and 55 years old, liked it a lot but confessed they would not buy it if Burberry Brit was to be their only fragrance. For a "one flask fits all" cologne they would prefer something more manly, but still recognising Burberry Brit to be quite adequate for dining out, as an office scent and for daily wear.

I reached the conclusion that this scent is versatile, pleases both genders, it's kind of sexy when women smell it on a man, and pleasing but not manly if a man smells it on himself.
It's fair enough. I still keep my own impression of being a very versatile, unique and alluring scent when I wear it.
What about some metrics?

- Scent opening 8.0 (pleasant)
- Scent Dry Down 9.0 (very good indeed)
- Longevity 7.0 (up to 6~7 hours on my skin, with 2 sprays)
- Sillage 6.0 (sillage peaks up to 4 feet; It projects for 1.0 hours)
- Versatility 8.0 (quite versatile, expressing itself better in Spring and Fall, at ease in Winter days and in Summer nights)
- Usability 8.5 (it's really a "use it almost anywhere" fragrance, but avoid the gym, the seaside or any kind of sweating activities)
- Compliments 8.5 (This scent pleases the fair gender but will not provoke reactions with men. You will smell elegant, clean, fresh and maybe sexy for some of the ladies)
- Uniqueness 9.0 (just its flankers)
- Quality 8.0 (quality ingredients; nice glass bottle; good spray)
- Presentation 8.5 (beautiful Burberry patern all over the bottle. I own the version sold prior to the one in the Parfumo Burberry Brit page)
- Price 8.0 (€ 20.0 for a 100 ml tester flask)

- Average: 8.05/10.00
between 7 and 8 => above average;
between 8 and 9 => recommended;
equal or bigger than 9 => don't miss it;

Opinion on "Burberry Brit":
Rose scent lovers should not miss this perfume. It is subtle yet pleasant.
Recommended? Yes!
Blind buy worthy? No! Do try it before. You may hate the strong rose note and you are still not aware of it.

This is baby powder in a bottle. It's very strange. Sometimes I quite like it, but sometimes i walk into a room when my man is wearing this, and it smells like poopy nappies. I think maybe a little goes a long way, and it probably does better in the colder weather.

Emzed

Just finished the bottle and it is okay for me and nothing to be fancy about. Decent for its price. Buying again? Nah! I'll try others.

sharpnickelz

My father used to have this fragrance. I got it for him for Christmas one year. I do not get the "baby powder" rose accord that everyone is mentioning. What I got was a lot of citruses and a lot of cardamom, and dries down to a nice woodsy scent.

I also got this bug spray vibe to it, but not in a bad way. It reminded me of Skin So Soft my grandmother used to use to keep the mosquitos away when we went camping.

Armani Code "Light"

It is very nice & cheap, performance is average (these days that is a good thing).

ReneeW1

I got a sample of this, along with several others, for my boyfriend to try. Burberry Brit was the least favorite for both of us.

It has a very powdery rose scent and I agree with others who say this reminds them of baby powder. IMHO this cologne is unisex but definitely leans more towards femenine. I definitely do not like this scent on a man....or a woman...all in all I think is a huge disappointment.

Heetkin

Sentence Summary:

Okay, so this does smell like a kind of powdery, rose scented baby-wipe, but to me it also works as a more affordable clean smelling alternative to those soapy Prada fragrances, especially on the dry down.
A tad feminine, but then so are the Prada's, and it gives a similar effect for a third of the price, so why not?

I think this could be unisex. I am a woman and I wear men's fragrances sometimes but for me it has to lean towards feminine side and I prefer sweeter scents. This one, as another reviewer said, nice uncomplicated gourmand, with little spice which does dries down to patchouli and baby powder. I actually layered it today with Bath and Body Works lotion called Dark Amber for men and its a perfect match. I think a guy could easily wear this combo. All in all, its a nice fragrance that either sex could wear

monkey500

This is nice but ‘safe’ - quite a sweet almost gourmand opening with ‘cool’ woody notes and the warmth of spice which is better for Autumn than cold winter. It has an excellent longevity - between 8 to 9 hours. Women have told me it, 'smells yummy.'

Burberry Brit is discrete and classy but nothing peculiar nor daring nor exceptional. Another perfect office or first date fragrance.

activemylifenow

It is such a coat for gentlements!

Waterman11

This is the one that started it all for me.

I had a friend in college who knew I had an interest in fragrance and suggested it to me. She once told me that Burberry Brit on a guy with a white t-shirt was just drop dead sexy. So I bought it haha.

Definitely powdery and sweet. Since this was my signature scent for years I can attest that IF you are mature enough to pull this off the ladies will be impressed.

I've definitely branched out over the years but this one will always hold a special place for me.

Now wonder this is a classic. Masculine mix of nutmeg, ginger and cardamom softened by wild roses.

Deep, spicy, warm fall/winter friend for a classy gentleman.

To me 7/10.

This is one of my favorites. It’s a scent all my ex’s loved and obsessed over especially after it’s been on for a few hours as a skin scent. Beautiful wintery, powder musky scent. Now that I’m in my late 20s it’s not as signature as it used to be. It elevates casual clothing days. Doesn’t work as well when you’re dressed up though for that there are better options. I still treasure the scent it’s nostaligic now, I don’t think I will ever find a scent like this. If they stop making it I will definitely buy as many bottles as possible.

Thrashing*Pucks

A modern classic and my go-to fragrance during the winter. Nice work casual fragrance. Turns heads too as I've gotten hounded with lots of compliments. This nova checkered bottle delivers a light, smooth fragrance that comforts the soul.
Also, received a gift box of this for Christmas from my mother when my last bottle ran out. Lotion was included and compliments the fragrance whenever I wear it.

almondbreakfast

Brit for Men was my 5th or 6th perfume when I first started collecting.

I remember it was too heady and powdery for me.

Today, I tried it again at the store and boy, how it has changed. I love the new reformulation!

It is more balanced, less powdery. The tonka and nutmeg have are much calmer and toned down.

I am an older female and I just love this. It is not something I would wear everyday, but great for a break from the flowery citrusy. scents. However, not for every female

I worked in the hospital, was patient care tech for a few years.. I loved my job.. this fragrance is exactly what “baby powder” smells like - the one they use in Florida hospitals.. again, I loved my job, and no complaints whatsoever on using that powder! - but it’s not the fragrance that makes me feel any festive or romantic. It’s quite plain and synthetic too, for my nose. Sorry, I don’t find any sophistication or “England” here.. Maybe it was attempt for somewhat masculine rose interpretation?.. Baby powder - all I find.
BTW - there’re so much better “powder” scents, not very expensive - try Caron “Royal Bain de Caron” - better and less synthetic. As for seekers of Rose that is masculine - get your nose on Ungaro III - you won’t be able to spray this thing on you again.

Midnight Lady

Nice one. First moments the ginger is very prominent, too much. I get the rose too but the scent seems too sharp. Then here comes the drydown - it gets sweeter and milder possibly thanks to tonka bean and musk. Actually the scent becomes quite warm, cozy and cuddly.

I can't imagine this could offend anyone. The bottle looks fantastic.

To me 6,5/10.

KentB27

It smells like a fresh, slightly spicy, and refined baby powder. I'm not a huge fan of this one. The performance is terrible on me as well. It lasts for about two hours at most on me.

This is the first Burberry fragrance I've tried. I will definitely try more because I'm sure they have something I will like better. I have London in my Scentbird Queue for next time.

Update 6/19/2018: Upon revisiting this fragrance almost 6 months later, I have to say that I really enjoy this fragrance now. It's amazing how easily our tastes in fragrances can change over time.

BottledBrit1million

The fragrance that really started it all for me. A fantastic understated brilliance brims upon application. This will forever be one of my favorites. This is just a signature scent in every way. It is refined and unique. The powder just screams sophistication. This is a must for any fragrance lover.

Ansarit

This scent is too powdery and it leans towards the feminine side , definitely not masculine enough for my taste

richmilton

The presentation is nice but the scent is little too unisex for my taste leaning toward feminine as others have indicated. It's not a bad scent, just a little bit ordinary and not something I'd choose over many other scents that better fits my character. Burberry London is still my favorite from this house and from the first time I smelled London I immediately knew it was going to always be in my collection. London is everything Brit is not... masculine, woody, piney, spices, unique, and the perfect cologne for Christmas and New Years. Brit is worth sampling because I can see many people liking it and it's generally a safe scent.

mkpunk

I was initially intrigued in Burberry Brit for Men since I do like Burberry Touch and The Beat. Similar to Touch and The Beat, Burberry Brit is a spicy yet sweet scent. That said Brit stands on it own with rose as a big note.

I have a sample of Brit for Men and I dislike it. To me, it is a prototype 1 Million minus cinnamon. Like 1 Million, it is a rose tonka scent which I found from this scent, is the reason I don't like 1 Million, yet love many of the clones which don't have the rose. It is a Burberry 1 Million since it is a 1 Million but with less projection, like many people actually say Burberry fragrances don't like though I don't mind that. Burberry Brit for Men is like a more work friendly 1 Million. It isn't a club banger at all but might work as a date scent.

I'm not fond of 1 Million so this is a pass for me, especially with a lower amount of projection and longevity. That said Burberry Brit Rhythm is actually a good upgrade to this for me. It has some similarities but drops the rose note and isn't as close to 1 Million.

erha69

I think the fragrance is a bit feminine like scented powder. Maybe because there is a wild rose element on its notes. I think it is more suitable in the rainy season.

lockwood_douglas

Much like Midnight in Paris, this is a great looking bottle, but smells like a powdery cheap woman's perfume. Can't wear this. But the bottle looks nice.

EDIT: I've changed my mind on this one a bit. Still by no means one of my favorites, but it's not bad. I do not consider it one of my "disliked" frags now. I'll start to wear this from time to time.

francois81

Absolulte lovely stuff. Basically I’m the no. 1. hater of powdery scents, but this one is amazing. Great rosy-powdery-creamy-spicy scent, a little bit unisex, a little bit oldfashioned, but it hasn’t got grandpa smell! In addition, this is very very versaile perfume and has a great longevity. The opening is a blast of ginger with a bit of mandarin and cardamom, but few minutes later the wonderful rose scent becoming more powerful… Beside the rose I can smell some nutmeg and other spices. The base is lovely too, the combintaion of the tonka and the woody notes is really good. Highly recommended scent.

Mr. Ghede

Three personalities come to mind:

- A kindly, older gentleman. Mild, bookish, sensitive, incredibly polite yet emotionally distant. Intensely private.

- A younger dandy. Precocious, flamboyant, childishly brash but generally well-intentioned. Think: a pre-portrait Dorian Grey.

- A free-spirited young woman. Independent-minded and emotionally intuitive but possessing an overly trustful nature that often conflicts with harsher realities.

The connecting thread is a pretense of softness-- introversion, youth, and naivety in turn. This cologne gives the impression of someone struggling to retain innocence in a world less partial. And yet, this person is able to persist because their idealism provides a unique stubbornness and inner resilience that is missing in more pessimistic and pragmatic types.

This is not a fragrance for those with sharp edges and forceful natures.

SheogorathWaldo

Gotta say, not a fan. Its a sweet powdery fragrance that has little to no masculinity in it, which is indeed something I usually look for. The rose is nice, but I can't see myself wearing it. Don't blind buy.

chill_whisper

I got this on sale and I thought it would be great for fall/winter scent. I think it smells too spicy and powdery for me, and it reminds me of my grandma. I ended up not liking it and giving it away.

Eloy

The mix of rose, wood and powder notes is exotic and nice, this powder note is the most outstanding. The smell is soft, not cloying, but the longevity and silage are great. Congratulations Burberry!

Classic fragrance…

For a number of years, Burberry Brit was in my Top 5 fragrances, and this morning I was reminded of a love from years past. The beautiful blend of rose, tonka bean, cardamom, and that “powdery” finish remains one of my favorites. The warm and inviting embrace – the gentleness of a soft kiss – the touch, the body hug from “cheek to cheek” to “head and toe”. You remember the love from years past that for one reason, or another, that eventually diminished to the last grain of sand that fell from the hour glass. It all came back to me today with one spray – one spray wafting that filled my dressing room – Mmmmm.. I reminisce..!!

Burberry Brit is truly a classic and “one of a kind” fragrance. While it has lost much popularity, my generation will remember and still regard this line as classic. Due to the reformulation process, performance has degraded, but lucky me, I still have a bottle from the mid-2000s and performance is rockstar status, lasting 6+ hours on me and even longer on clothing – all at just beyond arm’s length projection. Brit is un-offensive and perfect for any setting or event. Definitely a compliment magnet. Additionally, I would suggest that due to the complexity of the DNA, it can be worn across seasons. I will also agree with my colleagues that given the softness of the “powdery” finish, Brit for Men is close, very close, to being unisex. Women can totally pull off wearing this fragrance – go for it..!!

Final tally for Brit is 4.7 stars out of 5 stars. Due to the reformulation process, Brit has fallen just outside my Top 5 fragrances, but still has a place in my heart and sparkle in my eyes.. The juice is that good.. I am sending out a total “love” to the Fragrantica community and recommend (even new formulations) adding to any collection. It is unique, flexible, and affordable. You may even smile today reminiscing of a love from years gone by…

Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting…

Thoriq Dorz

The opening surprised me because it was like "powdery bomb". Its unique, sophisticated, but not masculine. It turns sweet after 1 hour and smells like women scent. this scent works in cold weather and more long lasting

renzo

LydiaLiu, wise words !

LydiaLiu

This is another perfume that I like from Burberry perfume line for men. But I'd rather use it for myself, perhaps the sweet bean here makes it less masculine. Nowadays there is sometimes no need to draw the line between perfumes for men and women, if you feel good feel confident feel comfortable when you put a fragrance on, then it belongs to you, it's for you. Brit is Sexy!

Guerlain shalimar EDT...that is all...

Wanginya unik. Sulit untuk dideskripsikan. Ketika pertama kali spray, saya langsung ngerasa pusing di kening seperti terkena sinusitis. Sangat menyeruak sekali.

I don't care. Saya sudah menghabiskan dua botol Burberry Brit, rencana akan order untuk botol ketiga. Worth to money dengan scent yang unik.

ron.simko

This is one of the more interesting fragrances I've tried. I get the powder association, but not baby powder at all. There's this subtle dryness at the heart of the scent that's both compelling and a bit mysterious. It's not like baby powder or talc, really, because It's got this underlying complexity that makes the dry down something special.

This is a unique fragrance and well worth checking out. I do wish the performance was a tad stronger and longer lasting (at least on me..) but all in all I think it's a really versatile scent that stands a bit apart from the crowd. And that's a good thing.

fromthebayandaroundtheway

Rose and ginger anyone? Yes! Burberry Brit for Men brings the unique mix of these two notes to the forefront and the result is really classy. I really love the citrus in this scent as well, we get a great zesty element from the green mandarin and bergamot. The cocoa kicks in as does the nutmeg giving us this real sweet powdery essence. This scent has depth. As the base notes kick in we get the musk, patchouli, cedar and woodsy notes to give a real manly punch to the powdery essence of this scent. This Fragrance is really an amazing piece of perfumery! It is very unique and judging by its' introductory year Brit stands on its own between Chanel's Allure and L' Instant de Guerlain. I really believe that Burberry deserves more credit for certain releases. These are real hidden gems! This scent is for the guy in his early thirties, who cares about how he presents himself at work or at semi formal and casual situations. Rock this under something bold yet snazzy like a nice lavender, or pink dress shirt and a slick black blazer for peak sophistication!

builtisbill

Has this been remarketed as Burberry Brit for Him? I don't own Brit for Men, but having sampled it, they smell just alike. The bottle is completely different and looks more like Brit Rhythm though. Any ideas?

TonyAKAMrClean

Finally, a powdery scent that I can get behind! And I don't usually like powdery scents! (I'm looking at you, Midnight in Paris!)

Luckily, this isn't really "baby" powder at all! I'll agree with the reviewer who said "This is the powder that James Bond would wear." because it's not really "baby" powder... it's more like MANLY powder! Clean and fresh, but not at all wimpy.

In my opinion, you might like this scent if you like Versace Man Eau Fraiche. This isn't quite as dark, the citrus is more lemon than grapefruit, but they share a very similar vibe to me, but this is more powdery while Eau Fraiche is more aquatic.

kayo.anderson

One of my favorites. Deeply sophisticated, warm and spicy, but dries down into a comfortable place that will get you noticed for confident sexiness. 3.8 out of 5 for me.

terren

scent i probably give it a 6 out of 10
projection probably 4 out of 10 longevity probably a 10 out of 10 i think its a good fragrance :)

Uh-umm

A great offering by Burberry. A fresh floral baby lotion/baby powder yet somehow could only be pulled off by a mature adult (sorry little ones). Fresh because of the citrus orange then followed by a really pleasant floral powder. This one can easily work year round although may be a bit much during the summer heat. Perfect for a well-dressed individual, for a casual occasion.

Kevgeez

Sophisticated scent. I like it.
Lately I havent been wearing it, but it goes nice with a dresssuit or a sweatsuit.

The 100 Days Challenge - Day 18:

I indulge myself into this soft, rosy, sophisticated scent. This is the sexiest and most elegant baby powder ever made. James Bond attitude with a kindergarten twist. Therefore, i am not ashamed to admit that i feel charming and even powerful wearing Brit. The trail is persistent at first, then it fades away creating a 'come closer' kind of scent. Sensual and somehow formal, yet Peter-Pan-Syndrome friendly. By the way, Wendy can wear this too.

Today's word: Wish.

FearlessFalcon

Baby powder... I have smelled this on several people including friends, and my immediate thought turns to baby powder. I own a full bottle of this, but I hesitate to wear it because I honestly don't desire to smell like powder meant for infants.

Now, up close and personal I can identify individual notes, such as rose and spices. The nutmeg and ginger are prominent as well. It has a spicy/sweet floral aroma that sits regrettably too close to the skin. These are only noticeable when at point blank range; literally sniffing the spot where it was sprayed.

But from a distance, it has no character. No spiciness, no floral chords: nothing. It radiates nothing more than a powdery, synthetic mixture that leaves a fellow smelling like he had an accident with his infant's cleaning products. Some people indeed love it. Which is perfectly fine. But I cannot fathom why.

UnearthlyApothecary

I am a fragrance gender bender and to me this reads almost as a more edgy modern Shalimar flanker. Starting off with a fresh citrus burst leading into spice and powder with a warm comforting tonka/ patchouli drydown. This scent is complex and wonderful and I would highly recommend it to women that like powder and rose but not all the sweetness you would encounter in a women's scent.

Chioutzu

First time i smelled this was in a Burberry store in a luxurious mall in dubai. It could be that the whole experience of me encountering this fragrance plays a role in how much i like it. This is definitely not a panty dropper cologne, its more of a friendzone type of smell where females will trust you and talk to you as a bff. Im sure its the babypowder note that causes this.

I liked the bottle design too but ive seen that it has been changed/updated. Can someone verify if the scent is changed too?

djbuffoon

A classic for a good reason. Truly does capture the essence of the quintessential European man: romantic, confident, assertive yet gentle, and (above all) sophisticated. 10/10

This is Mr.Burberry brother. Same direction but not 100% and just change some composition. BTW, I like this perfume since my college. Cheap but good longevity.

This one works with my chemistry.. So the sillage and longevity are fantastic.. On me.. But as for the scent itself... This thing is an absolute masterpiece!!! This is why we collect fragrance ... This is a beautiful blend.

So I bought a bottle I guess the smell differs day to day, immediately its Rose spice, powder Rose and some pleasant smell over all 5 star rating

A scent for the Lady Detective.

Not too fresh or spicy or warm or powdery but elementally taking something of each to perform. Starts out as a drizzly evening feeling with an earthy vibe but never diverging off into full blown hippieville. Evens out into an enduring and remarkable scent.

Must echo the quotes of others saying it isn't too rosy, is a well behaved Zino and would pair excellently with a leather jacket. Could see Jessica Jones taking names with this on as she kicked asses down the hall.

Brit for men is easily unisex - it would definitely add something to the male or female wearing it, as male and female skin/oils/pheromones differ so much. Packed with attitude and sophistication, some edginess and individuality, but never over the top or too polished. It is dishevelled elegance in a bottle.. never trying too hard, yet arriving with personality and sass.

MrBumblepants

I should've loved this as it has all the notes that I like, but the only thing I enjoyed was the powdery aspect of it. And even that was a little too much. I enjoy powdery scents if it's not overdone, and this was even too much for me.

It's very fresh smelling to me but I can't really pick out any notes listed for this. I don't really get any warmth from this. Probably smells great on other people but not on me unfortunately. So far Burberry much like Dior just doesn't agree with my skin chemistry with the ones I've tried. Might try the female version of this.

Jurisprude

This perfume opens with spices and citrus. It's beautiful. Men are well served with it. Women will compliment. Develops into a woody smell which is at once clean and fresh. It's a good one for a man's collection.

penikmatperfume

Saya hanyalah pria penikmat parfum, bukan ahli.

wild gardener

Fruity - citric freshness and sweet powder on a dark woody amber core, warmed by a touch of ginger.

This ensemble features a glycerine-leatherette wild rose that counteracts the powdery texture and makes something more of it than a run of the mill oriental.

Brit for Men is well put together with good transitions and no false moves, but it has a screechiness due to the large amount of synthetic fruity and woody amber molecules involved which is a shame; it's an otherwise comfy and likable night time scent, darkly sweet but offset by a cool bitter floral.

Even though BfM contains the germ of an idea which could have been worked up into something really special, it lacked the budget to amount to much.

Nice despite the poor materials.

Two reviews down and there u get it .. this scent is some how another Armani Code .. agree to that .

imloggedin

This smells almost identical to Armani Code. It is even the same perfumer. That's it. If you have Code don't buy this.

Lucbyrnes

I like the smell of it. The best lay of my life bought me a bottle of this and now whenever I wear it I get all excited. Goooooood stuff here!! Thanks Jess!!

Insomnia51

This fragrance is pretty underrated imo. Not many video reviews on this nice fragrance. This is more of a Winter type of fragrance. I get way more compliments in the cold than in the summer. It's one of the few Rose type scents that is Masculine. I wear this to work and notice ladies get a bit closer to me than normal. Also for some strange reason they tend to open up on things about their life. I wonder if this is a calming type of scent that makes women feel comfortable around you. It last a long time about 8-10 hours and projection is pretty decent. I've notice it smells different on other people. On some it smells great and others eh, kind of like a baby powder scent. I give this an 9/10 rating.

BriantheFragranceNewb

I definitely picked up on the rose initially and perhaps a bit of ginger. After a few hours, the dry down was very powdery for me. I like this fragrance, but, for a rose-based fragrance, I think I prefer Cartier Declaration D'Un Soir. This is still solid, and the performance also seemed solid.

Ky1227

Burberry Brit was the first fragrance I ever really wore regularly. I bought this one when I went off to college because it reminded me of home. My grandfather wears it and I love the scent. This could certainly be a signature fragrance I think you could wear it year round and for any occasion. It isn't very sexy so maybe not on a night out or date, but if you wear it confidently by all means go for it. I have received one or two compliments and it is one of my girlfriends favorites, but other than that it is not a big compliment getter.

Above all, this is a powdery fragrance. I can't stress that enough it is very similar to baby powder. The opening is odd, it reminds me of cola or something with a bit of ginger.
As it dries down just picture this... You are playing baseball in a big open room with a marble field like a big gallery or museum. Very clean. Your bat is made of cedar. They pitch you a baseball filled with baby powder wrapped in roses and you crush it. The ball explodes and the powder, roses, and bits of cedar fill the air.

Where do I get my weed, you ask? Well I'd like to keep that private.

Powder? Wild Rose? Freshness? Clean? I stopped by the cologne counter today, spritzed my arm three times, and waited 30 minutes to sniff. All I'm getting—and I do mean all—is a pleasant spiciness reminiscent of Obsession, or as another reviewer put it, an updated version of Old Spice. Right now I can detect no floral note, no baby powder note, no mandarin or citrus of any kind. And cedar? I was so hoping for that, but alas, nothing but a mild and pleasant spiciness, and nothing complex or layered at all.

There is a London-like quality to the drydown which is nice, but not nearly as rich or multi-faceted as London.

I will give it more time, and should I experience anything different or better I will certainly make a note of it here. Right now I am so disappointed after reading all of the reviews here. This didn't turn out like I had hoped. I wanted much more, especially from an award-winning fragrance.

2 hrs later... It has a wonderful drydown! Warm and spicy to be sure, but I never got any rose, powder, or citrus. I'll keep waiting!

Wait, wait, wait! The scent seems to be evolving again.... What I previously thought was just spiciness is turning out to have a sweet floral quality to it. Perhaps it's my imagination or wishful thinking, but I really thinks it's there. The rose. The wild rose. It seems to be trying so hard to make its appearance. Stay tuned...

Today has been a wild ride. What started out as a nondescript aroma initially—turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The rose has finally shone through, and it's lovely. To me, it's not powdery, and certainly not baby-powdery. It's a fresh, yes—clean—smell, similar to the orange note in Terre D'Hermes (minus any bitter or sour notes), and underlying that, the spiciness rests comfortably.

My recommendation: give this one ample time to develop before you pass judgement. It really has to sit and evolve through its various stages. Brit is definitely not strong or loud, and I cannot say anything about the sillage (scent trail) just yet, as I have only sampled it. A tester bottle is coming in the mail, and after I've used it for a while I will probably know more about the effect it has on those around me, and how far it projects.

At one point i loved this scent. now it reminds me of when i change my nephews diaper. its cool. if you like baby powder.

I'm quite surprised so many people are saying it smells like baby powder! My S/O has this fragrance and I LOVE it on his skin, and sometimes wear it myself.
It is lightly musky, but I wouldn't say baby powder.
I find it fresh and zingy, a little spicy, and that cedarwood note is so well complimented by the green mandarin/lime with the touch of ginger.
Interestingly enough, the rose is not very perceivable on either of us, though there is a slightly sweet soft feel that could be due to the rose.
My S/O and I are in our early 20s... he's been wearing it since late teens. Perhaps our body chemistry brings out the best in it :)
It's absolutely delicious. One of my favourite men's fragrances so far.

I was excited when a cousin of mine passed this on cos he used something else.
However, I found the scent boring.
Like some have described, it smells a lot like men's powder with a hint of rose. The bottle looks interesting though.

I agree with the previous review.
This is boring, and doesn't last at all.
Don't spill your money with that generic smell.

zero.

As usual they write it's such a complex composition but in reality it turns out quite simple- this is baby powder with rose. It's too gentle for me, i feel like candidly suggesting it to grow some backbone. Maybe i could wear it sometimes but I'd miss something substantial in the base at least to attract me to want to put iton myself. Not impressed overall.

#edited :
now is rainy season here, and i wear it everyday and I really love the scent, so warm and spicy. can not imagine how the smell in colder air, must be great !
a bit powdery but acceptable for me, can't stop sniffing myself.
love and love ..... not to wear in summer !!!

I don't know what to say, something not to wear in hot tropical country. so I wear it for office only. like it but sometime I hate it.

Alextricity

Sampled from Ulta. This sprays smelling like men's powder deodorant and baby powder. Dry down is an herbal spiciness... maybe some basil? A bit "ozonic" but also a little aquatic as well. The best way to describe this though is powdery -- definite baby powder and man's deodorant vibe. Slightly sweet. Relatively forgettable. Moderate longevity and sillage. I like this fragrance the more I smell it, but I wouldn't purchase it unless it were cheap.

A friend recommended this so I stopped by a Sephora, sprayed some on a strip and fell in love. Wow. A very nice, fresh spicy, citrusy, woody scent. I'd actually recommend this for a guy (or gal) who likes spice in their fragrances, but not too much. Really nice balance here. Very classy. And the price is right!

(Ladies, you can rock this but only if you wanna give off that Lisa Bonet "earthy" vibe)

-Perfect for work. Not loud or "clubbish" but more sophisticated.
-Great for an older teen looking to graduate from the party-boy scents.
-Not the best for a night on the town, especially if strobe lights are involved. Too classy. I'd say it's more "dinner-partyish". Brings to mind good conversation.
-Awesome for both formal occasions, like weddings or church functions and casual wear (mall shopping).
-Moderate longevity and sillage. Stays pretty close to the skin. Probably the one con.
-Date night... Hmmmn... Depends on your body chemistry and your goals. This doesn't really qualify as a panty-dropper. More of an established-boyfriend fragrance.

This is unisex enough that I don't mind wearing it myself, but I know a man on whom it's the sexiest smell ever. On me, because my skin loves roses, it takes on a soft, powdery character, but on him it's balanced by the nutmeg and cedar and spices, and it absolutely drives me crazy. I love it on me, but I can't get enough of it on him. And normally I'm not one to respond physically to a man's fragrance, but this is so perfect on him.

I just had to step in and say I don't find this powdery at all, and I'm sensitive to powdery scents. I HATE baby powder and everything that smells similar. This is a little soft because of the rose, and sweet with the tonka, but it also has crisp citrus and very dry woody notes.

Strong mandarin and bergamot opening with a good dose of spice, especially cardamom and ginger. More soft and sweet as it dries down, with rose becoming more dominant, but also very woody. Woody oriental. Unisex. The first men's fragrance I truly enjoyed (at age 15) and I still love it.

Also worth noting that I've had a bottle for 5 years that's kept well, though it's less crisp overall. The citrus has held up surprisingly well.

Smells like a floral and spicy scented baby powder, the person I used to date liked this one on my skin, I think it made her think of babies but not just babies more like making babies sorry if that's tmi but just being honest. I think this is a nice fall fragrance that is comforting and very subtle. It smells clean and fresh out of the shower. All ages can pull this one off.

Think of it as a classier version of LA Nuit de l'Homme.

My second fragrance from Burberry. Not one of my favourites but I really like it. It starts off with a very strong ginger-cardamom blast, but after a couple of minutes it tones down into a more subtle powdery mix of rose and cedar with a hint of spiciness. In the drydown, the cedar stays while the rose starts to fade and the scent becomes more musky.

This is definitely more of an understated elegance kind of fragrance. It also gives off a very clean and fresh vibe. Think coming out of the shower, putting on a few sprays of this scent and sitting by a fireplace with a drink in hand. There is nothing feminine about this fragrance at all like some of the comments below suggest. The rose is offset by the cedar.

Performance would be the only downside to this fragrance. For me it only lasts about 5 hours before it becomes very faint and is gone after 7 hours. Projection is only good for about 1-2 hours (about 4-5 sprays). Personally, I prefer to use this fragrance during the day but feel it is very versatile.
