La Panthere Legere by Cartier is a Chypre Floral fragrance for women. La Panthere Legere was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Mathilde Laurent. Top notes are Dried Fruits, Green Notes, Pear, Bergamot and Tangerine; middle notes are Gardenia, Tiare Flower, Aldehydes, Ylang-Ylang, Peach, Rose and Jasmine; base notes are Oakmoss, Musk, Patchouli, Leather and Orris.

Cartier launched La Panthère, a sensual and bold floral-chypre fragrance that has that vibe of the classics of this category, in the spring of 2014. A year after, a new version of the fragrance La Panthère Leger is launching. The line is dedicated to free and passionate women.

This enchanting "feline" floral fragrance combines sparkling notes of gardenia flower with velvety tones of musk. La Panthère Légère version reveals a new aspect of the original chypre-gardenia-musk composition. The composition is "illuminated" with a new ingredient of tiare flower.

The fragrance is available as 50 and 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

They removed the panther’s fangs with this one, very light floral on my skin and nothing memorable.

pamelalasalle110

I'll start with sillage and longevity being fantastic. Projects well. Classy. Sexy, and masterly well blended. Leather & musk notes stay through the long lasting life of the perfume. Sharp green & clean moss combined with lovely gardenia and tiare flowers lay on top of them. This perfume makes me feel confident and sophisticated. The bottle is absolutely beautiful. A must have in my fragrance wardrobe. ❤

Panthere Legere is a great fragrance, find a special day to wear it or just feel special every day you wear it.

It smells of leather, magnolia, moss and green notes with the most refined tone you can imagine, it is a Cartier, there is a lot of elegance here, but it is suitable in many settings because it is not voluptuous or heavy.

It is a perfume for a strong woman who is not harsh with others, for an intelligent woman who is not arrogant, for a radiant woman who is generous with her happiness, it smells like a divine woman

Koningin

Not my cup of tea.
The earthy and mossy notes make it ‘dirty’ and kind of masculine.
It has decent longevity and arms length projection for the first few hours.
It’s not a safe blind buy.

KerriZ

Wow Cartier. & thank you Mathilde Laurent I feel rich, luxurious, feminine and pretty! What an elegant white floral scent. Lastability on me was not as long as I would have liked (others have better results) and sillage close to the skin. With many other fragrance loves in the $300 to $400 range this beautiful crystal bottle at $140ish --- so worth it!

rosesfromars

This is a beast. Longetivity and projection are wow. I feel very sexy wearing it, and men love it.

bintTapputi

I feel like this is a tease for whatever the real thing is, which has been on my wishlist for a long while now. It's really nice but it's holding something back. I agree completely with Dani C., it's timeless and classic while also being modern and chic. Also agree completely with Barbantio4711's summary, clean soapy perfect for the office, posh perfume. I think the original is probably more my style, and now I really look forward to getting my hands on it. 5/10

mirisfrik

This is how a young woman CEO smells like. A bit cruella classy chypre is this. This one is really premium business class. Don't try to wear it on your sweatshirt day.
Lasting power 8+ hours, silage moderate to heavy

I am working from home on this fall afternoon and decided to wear this since I have been unsure I feel about it. It is classy and sophisticated so I agree with many of the reviews, just not sure it's for me but I will say that this is one powerful perfume. Clearly I over-sprayed because even working in my office of 1 I'm wishing I could escape myself and the powerful aroma of La Panthere Legere! Will have to try again with a very light touch and see how I feel then.

Elderflower_desert

My review is short. Awesome bottle, scent is beautiful, clean, strong, delicate---L❤️VE it.

Dani C.

This is stunning! Elegance in a bottle.

It feels classy and timeless at the same time modern and up to date. Very feminine without being sweet.

Legere is a lighter version of the original with adding of Tiare flower to bring some brightness and an exotic touch.

The opening is basically aldehydes, but that goes fast. Right after it gets creamy and floral with some touches of woody and citrusy notes. If you are a Chypre lover that’s your gem. I fell head over hills for this fragrance and to me is a must-have on any frag lover collection ❤️

Kiti89

I received this as a gift years ago and didn't appreciate it at all! I was in my mid 20s and at the time saw it as a soapy, weak scent. I would always sniff it and contemplate selling it on for easy cash.

I'm SO happy I kept it!

I'm 31 now and I love it.

It's soft, floral, and powdery. Every thing I love in a perfume. It's womanly without being too mature or aged.

It's like sticking my nose in a bouquet of flowers dusted with baby powder. Beautiful and sophisticated.

It gives me something different everytime I smell it too. Sometimes it's really leathery and musky, other times powdery and soft, or fruity and tart, or syrupy, honeyed florals. It's amazing.

Oh how I wanted to like this one. Blind bought it based on the raving reviews. I’m so disappointed. I was suggested the Legere edition rather than the original because it was lighter and “illuminated”. Boy oh boy. This is heavy. I can’t even imagine what the original must be like. It’s not what I had in mind at all. Unfortunately I found nothing uplifting in this perfume. With the first sniff I was like...okay...this one’s for winter and night only, not for the upcoming summer season but do I even like it in general? The answer is no. It was mysterious and interesting yes but I found it linear and very perfumey even synthetic. Could I be anosmic to some of the notes? I couldn’t find the fruits and lively florals here. I found it rather monotonous and suffocating for my taste. I could see this easily giving me a headache in the summer heat.
It’s a “dark” perfume if that makes any sense, very very mysterious, kind of spicy and smokey, maybe empowering for some women that are into the notes (and can smell them) but unfortunately this panther is not for me. It felt lifeless. I was begging this to change on my skin on the dry down and for some note to uplift it, transform it and make it work on me. But nope. I will gift it in hopes it will find a home in someone else. Sillage is okay, nothing crazy but makes an introduction when someone approaches. Longevity very very good on skin, eternal on clothes.

Barbantio4711

This is a creamy Dove soap smell. Smells expensive. Great with a white blouse, gold jewelry, and heels while getting ready for work at the office.

Mona708

I got a sample of this from a fellow Fragrantican and I love it! It’s mature and feminine without being too vampy and overdone. Everything is blended together in a wonderful sweet and powdery, yet mildly musky mix that grabs your attention without being too obnoxious. Trying this out makes me want to try the original EDP even more.

ivadim

днес без да искам направих комбинация от него и orchid powder montale, в резултат на което получих страхотно подобие на ситизен куин, много яко

EllaDe7

Earthy, mossy, musk crushing the white flower which are my favs. Sorry, for me this is the smell of Nair wax.
Cannot find the fruits either.
I could not smell anything after the Panthere legere for a few hours.
The scent is sophisticated, complex and interesting but not for a white flowers happy Guerlain fan like me.
Good longevity, I had to take a shower. And another one. I smell like leather.

Diari

Chanel Coco!! I sprayed Coco on my arm one night to go to bed, and woke up confused at myself, thinking I'd sprayed this instead the previous night. Turns out that aside from the powdery opening, La Panthere Legere smells exactly like the extreme drydown of Coco on me: peachy, honeyed dried fruit with a shadow of florals.

poohbearwinnie

This reminds me of Chanel's NO 5 l'eau and shares a similar note in terms of adehydic scent. When first sprayed it's bitter, sharp, powdery, and very synthetic. It does smell rich and sophisticated, quite mature and like old money. It reminds me of cashmere, high turtlenecks, and high end department stores. Dries down more soapy but still has the sharp powdery aldehydic note.

Cairo Rose

Soft, classy, comfortable.... feels like a cream colored cashmere sweater with fawn suede skirt... powdery floral with a feminine leather note...Nothing crazy or offensive... it was a steal at TJMaxx, which just reopened, $20 on clearance for 1.7 oz....I am a happy camper!

UnearthlyApothecary

It’s more every day wearable then the original which I’ve always found beastly in strength and intensity, needing to really be in the mood for it. The white florals stand out a bit more, the tiare is a lovely addition. It doesn’t steal the show, but it’s detectable and very lovely. I actually find this less heavy, more well balanced then the OG. It’s almost 90 degrees today and I’m wearing this like a second skin, I could have never worn the OG without getting nauseous in this temperature. The oak moss, patchouli and leather are still very present those are the notes that really make this scent and I couldn’t love it if they were not as present as they are. I was worried that the leather wouldn’t be as noticeable. Very impressed and in love with this one. A perfect example of a flanker being an improvement over the original.

maci2222

A classy lady uses expensive soapy mousse to clean her fresh picked fruits. She dries them off with dryer sheets.

Vegas Pauli

Very good stuff here. I admit I’m a sucker for oakmoss and it is the star here. All of the fruit and flowery notes bounce off the oakmoss making for a very complex, rich and interesting experience. The leather adds to this effect too, but it is very tame next to the moss. I also get a spicy vibe and for the life of me I do not know where it comes from. Maybe the rose is spicy or the musk is giving off it off. Either way I love this. As others have mentioned this is old school and can have easy been released in the 80s next to Boucheron, Ysatis, JOOP! And Poison. What sets this apart tho is the oakmoss/leather soapiness which pushes this into masculine territory so I have no problems pulling this off. Couple this with the fact you can find a bottle on line in the $40 range makes this a win-win (and a flat out steal considering the quality of this juice). Although I only have the Legere edition I have no interest in the original if less oakmoss involved. Long story short: big thumbs up.

ivadim

Не е лесен, трябва да си намери човека:) красив, дълготраен... Избрах го пред оригиналната пантера, защото е по-съвременен, жив, аромат на чиста и мнооого гримирана жена:) пудрен шипър. Може да се носи във всеки сезон

Blueflowers

Soapy oakmoss, fairly-crisp-for-a-gardenia gardenia, lots of white musk and a smidge of fruit in the the top.

Clean and bright with that warm-yet-biting Cartier base. Performance is pretty great. Soft sillage & lasts about 8 hours.

I like this lightly sprayed in warm weather, anything more & it can get cloying. The original Panthere is bolder and creamier, and the oakmoss has a bit more of a punch. I keep thinking I should have purchased that one instead. This one has its place—I chose it pretty often lately. I’m excited about trying it once summer really kicks in.

ivadim

Красавец е, но доста капризен. Имам излишно количество за размяна или продажба, защото се бях запасила

meg0825

First of all, the bottle is just gorgeous. I'm a feline lover and the panther-faced bottle is beautiful!

The scent is beautiful too. I get a quick whiff of sweet, dried fruits in the opening, but that fades pretty fast. Then the gardenia and musk combination really comes through. It reminds me a bit of Narciso EDP in the white cube but this has oakmoss instead of vetiver. This has a soft and soapy earthy woodiness. Elegant and regal just as a panther should be!

chinook

It’s syrupy sweet, with a hint of spicy, even though the notes don’t suggest it. I wore it a few times. It doesn’t strike me as special in any way. It’s formal and versatile enough though.

Bubbles1964

I'm a fan of Mathilde Laurent's work - Herba Fresca and Baiser Vole Essence are two favorites - so I was psyched to try this one as many of the listed notes I enjoy.

Gardenia is a tough one to pull off, and this smells sharper than my creamy gardenias that are still blooming. It stays fairly linear on my skin but that's not a deal breaker for me.

La Panthere Legere also feels timeless. If someone said this was created in 1985 I would've believed them. On the right skin this could easily be a love. It doesn't work for me even though its got very good performance. Not a safe blind buy as evident by the differing opinions below.

Edit: have worn this a few more times and decided I really like this one from Cartier. I’m thinking this would be better in warmer weather, spring or early summer.

YoshikuniAkino

It opens overwhelmingly a florist scent, which is nothing special and even brings "show off" impression. Yet 30 minutes later, it softens to a very pleasant floral scent. It radiates about an arm and last to 5 hours. I think it would be a very nice choice for formal events as to the decent feeling it brings.

courant

This is an update to an earlier review. For some reason this reminds me of wearing the original 'Magie Noire' at the time of its release. It's the oak moss I guess. I tried the re-released Magie Noire recently and of course its very different, so I can only reiterate those who say this fragrance has a classic vibe. Sure does.

dnque

Love this fragrance! On top of the musky, fruity notes I get the smell of a garden centre!

kati77

Really strongly oakmoss with gardenia and dried fruits showing in this perfume.
For cold months great, for summer no. Then its too strong.
Classy style, elegant.

SDG

I first smelled this perfume last week, when visiting my grandmother. She still had a full bottle that she once received from a friend. I loved the combination of sweet, yet still classy with some fresh notes in there - I've always been into sweet perfumes as these always smell best on me, but have been looking for a more ''classy'' perfume lately. However, perfumes such as Chanel N5 just don't go well with my body chemistry.

This one, however, blended in very well with my skin. It's not too sweet (like other perfumes I wear such as Si by Armani, and La Nuit by Tresor), yet also not too...''classy''. Today I went to the store and sprayed a little on a paper. It didn't smell good at all and I was confused as to why I liked this perfume so much last week. Turns out this is really one of those perfumes that will only smell good on certain people, depending on your body chemistry. I ended up spraying a little on my wrist again later on - strong opening, I didn't like it - but after a few minutes the sweet notes appeared again in combination, with the fresher notes. Decided to buy it, and 8 hours later I can still smell it :)

All in all, it's a good and long lasting perfume, but it's not for everyone.

Konga5000

EDIT: I get dryer sheets from it. DO NOT BLIND BUY. This is NOT like the original-- at all. It is S T R O N G and long lasting though.

Lovely fragrance.

courant

The molecule is Styrallyl Acetate, it smells of hints of peach skin & strawberry & rhubarb atop of a musk that is similar to Narciso R and with the animalic content of Khiels Musk. I was given the 9 ml sample by a friend who had been away travelling and I thought that the mcQueen EDP sample would be top of the pops, but it was this. Mathilde Laurent has achieved the most perfect balance and it has knocked Narciso off its perch in this house. It has gentle sillage but excellent persistence. There's a special strawberry I remember going to great lengths to acquire because Beth Chatto (famous gardener) wrote of it glowingly in one of her books. It is incredibly sweet, Fragaria Vesca, the wild woodland strawberry and I think of it each time Legere settles on my skin. I no longer have a large garden but the magic of first reading about it and then trying it returns. The sample is on its death throes and I have ordered a bottle.

de173eld

She hates me.
The musk in La Panthere Legere smells like plastic/wax/play-doh to me.
To some peoples' noses, this type of musk smells creamy; to others' it smells synthetic in an unpleasant way.
You better make sure you know which one you are before buying this.

The musk drydown in this is the exact same synthetic plastic/wax smell I get from Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez. This underlying base ruins the entire experience for me.

I can still tell this is a gorgeous fragrance because everything else smells lovely.
Unfortunately, I don't have the natural graceful body chemistry to pull this off.

The geometric panther head is dope.

carolinaesp

Legere smells EXACTLY like the cheap makeup palettes I had in the 2000s, that talcum powder scent. The oakmoss, leather and aldehyde notes are strong here. It is very different from the other fragrances out there, but I was a little disappointed with this resemblance. It's a good scent, just not something I wish to smell like.

Konga5000

This is a classic "pretty cosmetic counter" smelling perfume. It smells like it could have been created in 1945, 1955 or 1965. It bears a resemblance to Annick Gotual's Songes minus the cream soda part.

This is liner and everything sort meshes together & that makes this hard to pick out notes individually -- nothing unusual about that.

The longevity is very very good and I will have to live with this for a few days before my final votes are in.......

Thus far a grade of B minus.

sarahvigne

A beautiful, soft, sophisticated smell. Ever so feminine and elegant. There is a warmth to it, as well as the lightness. I love the tiare in it, it's a sunbathing smell. I could imagine wearing this when I'm 80 but I don't want to wait that long , I may have to buy it now ( I'm 50).

tandaina

There's nothing wrong with it, as such. It's just so light, and generic that I don't see any reason to wear it either. A bit synthetic, totally non-offensive. Just "meh."

anilinam

Cartier makes some of my favorite perfumes.

So I blind bought Panthere and Panthere Legere. Sadly, I can not say I like either.

Part of it is that I have to come to terms with the fact that oakmoss and I, just are not the best of friends.

Part of it is this scent, seems to me, to be 100% synthetic. I know most mass made fragrances are synthetic, but this one, to my nose, reads all too much like plastic, and makes me sneeze. (This happens to me more with Panthere, than with Panthere Legere, but it still occurs with both.)

I see how both compositions (Panthere and Panthere Legere) can be attractive; and I think it's nice Panthere Legere offers a contemporary perspective on chypre; but if I could like oakmoss, my money would go to Sisley's Eau du Soire.

Sorry, I'm aware what I write here might not be a popular view if you're looking for validation, but if you are researching this fragrance, I hope you find this helpful.

SuzanneS

A clean synthetic soapy floral. Will not offend and work safe. Im not sure if I enjoy Nagels aesthetic. Not for me, but worth a try if you are in the market for a modern , clean chypre.

Soofiya

Cartier la panther is in my wishlist for a long time.I used a sample of it and loved it.I see it as a modern classic,a sophisticated, unique, soft, elegant, charming scent.a perfume that has dignity and personality.when I saw la panther legere in a sale I didn't hesitate to but it.actually I like fruity strawberry rhubarb undertone of original la panther but omitting them and adding tiara and aldehydes seems like a more mature version(though original la panther is already mature).I received legere version last week and it was a huge dissapointment for me.it was veryyy weak, unbelievably faint on me!
Just when I glued my nose to my skin I could barely smell something like a flat shadow of original la panther.only things that I can pickup is something like a white floral and something like a soapy musk.
Last night I decided to give it another chance and wow,I'm in love head to heels.I don't know why I was nose blinded at my first test(it had happened for me couple of other times too,it scares me like a nightmare)but this time it's anything but weak
As soon as I sprayed it,a heavenly scent started to waft strongly and even after hours I could easily smell it,still blooming softly but noticably
I don't know what to write about it's developement process.I can feel all the notes listed but they act as a whole unit and none of them overpowers the others
Gardenia and tiare?yes, definitely. But gardenia don't the useal heady flower who tries to mimic tuberose and tiare isn't trying hard to seem beachy.they appear in their softest form to produce a soft creamy (not fat or buttery)silky white floral accord... Musk?yes, absolutely.this is a musky scent and it has a lovely musk which is clean but not overly syntethic sharp and cheap white musk.not an oily animalic one either.it's clean and powdery, also alive.it reminds me musk in narciso rodriguez narciso edp(also similar gardenia) but I love carthier le panthere legere more...fruity notes?I can't detect them though I believe they have an important balancing role, giving the scent a fresh and crisp quality and preventing it from becoming overly dry.aldehydes?yes, this is a soapy scent but in the best way possible.it's not a sharp, cold, chemical soap.they did it just so right...moss?it's what gives the scent a classic chyper vibe.a soft earthy, powdery layer that makes it so different from what we usually see nowadays...leather?well,not really.at least not a strong one so if you're not into leathery scents don't freak out.it's not a dirty, animalic or a rough, rubbery leather.think of it as a soft touch of suede which wrappes musky florals and warms up the scent and give it more sophistication and elegance
Well,I'm so impressed that I can't stop talking about this work of art.I was looking for a clean, soapy floral fragrance for my spring and it's all I wanted and even more.it has a lot in common with original la panthere, still there are enough differences to justify having both of them.I can't say which one I prefer because I can't remember la panthere with all it's details
It has good projection for first two hours and I can catch wiffs of it with every move, then it calms down and gradualy turns to a lovely skinscent and lasts like that for another 6,7 hours
I think it would be great for spring, but all in all it's wearable yrar round perhaps except cold winter nights
Now I'm very glad to have and although I plan of buying original la panthere and it's new flanker, soir,I may consider repurchase legere one when I'm done with this bottle

Highly recommended if you want a classy clean scent, easy to wear and unique at the same time
❤❤❤❤❤

agarobka

Simply adore this one! I discovered it recently while making yet another approach to the first La Panthere. Legere is more delicate, fresher and luminous. But still very elegant and sophisticated, perfect office scent in my opinion.

tattoo_ladyk

This is the one for me! You just know and you cannot explain why, just like when looking into the eyes of the one that makes your knees go weak. You just know! When I am wearing this I feel like I can conquer the world. Irresistable, elegant, powerful perfume, with more luminosity than La Panthere, the type that imprints the memory of you into the minds of those that pass by you when you are wearing it.

Jillzilla

The top notes have a slightly bitter and bracing feeling from the pear + green notes + bergamot (pear is usually tart my skin). The bright, airy aldehydes emerged almost immediately along with the gardenia and the other subdued florals, although I'm not sure I detected any of those specifically, but they do provide influence. Gardenia can be hit or miss on my skin, often becoming sharp and causing headaches, but here it feels sheer and soft, not sharp or loud at all for me. In the heart of the fragrance, I start to feel a powderiness approaching from the clean, airy musk (not at all animalic), the dry leather (not at all oily), and the moss (only slightly sour on me, which is typical). The musk increases in the dry down, while the moss stays noticeable, and this gives it an impressive longevity on my perfume-eating skin, around 8 hours until I washed it off. On my sweatshirt which I wear around the house, it is clearly still present from 24 hours ago, and wafts of it are rising up to my nose.

So, to me, this feels like a musky-powdery, fresh take on a classic style. I want to love it so badly because I feel it is so well executed, and it smells so good to me off the sprayer and on clothing, but I wonder if the moss is just a tad too sour on my skin chemistry (a problem I often have with more noticeable moss notes). Still, I recognize that I am testing this in cool weather, when this type of scent does best on my skin in hot weather, so I plan to retest it in the future, to see if I go from "Like" to "Love".

The bottle is amazing in person, so unique and such beautiful quality!!

girlsworld

My little Panthere indulgence. Who doesn't want a little Cartier in their life? Legere was enough for me, it lasts for hours I find less is more. Rich, luminescent, warm honey gardenia notes. I would say less is more with this perfume, I do find it powerful but this is how Panthere should be. Fantastic for cooler days and heady nights. Glamourous yet classic.

oceanbreeze

Because I love leopards I finally decided to buy the set: 50ml Cartier La Pantere EDP Lagere and 100ml Cartier La Pantere Body Lotion. Panthera is the first Latin word for wild big cats, leopards are the smallest among them. Leopards are very graceful and to me there's a fascinating feminine graceful image about a peaceful leopard.
This way I got both fragrances! I love it! Very elegant and sophisticated high quality fragrance. And the bottle is very unique.

Carriewlin

Mmmm. I own La Panthere, and I find this to be an improvement. It's a touch less formal, and wears more easily, more gently, than La Panthere. Somehow, La Panthere seems to intensify over time before it finally dies down, and sometimes gives me a headache. I acquired this in the summer, and had high hopes that it would wear well in warm weather. It wears fine, and I think it would work well in cooler weather, too. In an attempt to "summer" this up a little further, I layered it with a simple coconut fragrance (I had Zuma by Yosh on hand, but there are plenty of others). Nothing too strong. I didn't want to smell like straight-up suntan lotion. It smells gorgeous! I was aiming for an effect along the lines of Guerlain's Terracotta, a blend of white flowers, coconut, and vanilla, with the flowers being the dominant note. It was a more successful experiment than I thought it would be. Come fall, I'll go back to wearing it solo, but it was fun to beach up this beauty for a little mental vacation.

Ulusia

I thought that it doesn't last but one day I was complimented 3 times by strangers. Probably I was too generous ;-) I can feel bee glue (propolis) and others also agreed that this note is there. It is a charismatic fragrance, not for a person in the corner. It was not a love at first sniff but the more I wear it, the more I like it.

Soniechka

It's a nice feminin parfum. It's a pity it's just overwhelming to me. Couldn't stand it longer than 1 hour.

Kathleen13

I wanted to love this, but it was not meant to be. This smelled clean and faintly sweet to me at first- like citrus, roses, and soap, almost exactly. The citrus faded after a short time and it became more distinctly like a rose-scented soap, which just left me wanting more as it didn't change from that point on. I'm guessing the notes I get the most strongly are the bergamot, rose, and possibly the tiare flower, which I'm unfamiliar with and which might account for the soapiness I haven't experienced before with other white flowers. This isn't the kind of scent I can really fall in love with, sadly, although the bottle and the name are lovely. The scents I love are sweeter and more interesting than this, and I'm really not a fan of that soapy accord. This does have a very "classic" kind of feel to it that I attribute to the rose note. I do like roses and that's what initially made me think I would like this fragrance more, but the soapiness eventually just becomes overwhelming to me, and I ended up with a bad headache from this. Gave away my sample.

Betsywoolbright

I really don't care for this, which might be surprising, since I really like La Panthere.
I think it is the tiare flower. I've noticed that note is present in a number of other less-liked fragrances.
I find this to be too soapy (most likely the aldehydes) and the "refined dirty-ness" that I like in La Panthere seems lacking here (or at least drowned out by the tiare and aldehydes).

brebtalka40

Dry, clean, sophisticated, and elegant at first sniff – and that's it. Doesn't last longer than a single breath, doesn't reach farther than a light spring breeze. Only the bottle was worth some admiration.
Bottle: 10/10
Silage: 3/10
Longevity: 3/10
Overall: not worth one's interest. The "original" EDP is incomparably better.

LeonieB

Perfect for a day when you want something highly chic and sophisticated in a slightly vintage classic way, but can't face the sharpness of the aldehydes or heavy florals. It's like you had tried the original this morning and it has faded and softened by lunchtime but kept the sparkle.
Not my usual thing but really appealing!

No!, so sorry to the lovers of this. On me it smelled like cleaning detergent, I just knew these notes would be good on me, but it was not to be. It is floral woody and musky but the wrong scent for my skin. I didnt even want anyone to get a whiff of me moving through the mall, I left and went home! Lol
No problem, I will continue on my fragrance quest, but it was worth the try.

omg it was so hard to decide wich one I take home! this one legere or the original, uff I was at Sephora yesterday, I put one in my wrist , and th other original in my other wrist, im smelling this one and te other for 2 hours I even ask strangers for the opinion ,, jajaj I was hilarious !! ok I buy the original la panthere... I was happy I made right choice naaaa,,, I went back to Sephora 10 min later and exchange for legere.. ladies was like haaa!! ok first impression of la panthere was strong, sexy, I like, then for la panthere legere was sexy also strong and illuminated note, like less rought more fresh ..less dark, is like alien radiance but la panthere own radiance!! I been wanting this perfume for months,,, since last febuary I went to Sephora and ask the sales lady what she was wearing , you can guess her answer! I never had such a struagle with any perfume before,,,,, but I love it ... it is sexy , sophisticated, animal,,,,,,,,,,,, wujuuuuu... for those days you want to loose your inner animal!!grrrrr

I had never tried La Panthere, because it suggested me something heavy and cloying... but, to my surprise, this one is really clean, fresh, absolutely beautiful! One more to my wish list.

Tried this on at Sephora... smells like suntan lotion, probably because of Tiare flower. I just spritzed it and it´s very subtle and gets close to the skin really fast. Smells nice but doesnt worth its price.

After the release of the traditional version in March 2014, followed by the version in extract concentration, in August 2014 (which did not come to Brazil, since the resale price would be too high and the investment would be lost), Cartier launched this brighter version, in February 2015, called La Panthère Légère.

The concept was to maintain the same quality of the previous version, in a fragrance with more lightness, ideal for daytime use, as well as on warm evenings.
It was built on the same main accords from before, which means gardenia and musk. However, this time, received a more special touch: the Tiare flower, as it is called the Tahitian gardenia.

The In-house perfumer considers it a solar-floral fragrance. Its composition brings green and dried fruit notes, in the output. Then, in the heart, we have the most common gardenia (gardenia jasminoides) along with the Tiare flower (gardenia Tahitensis). In the base, oakmoss and white musk.

La Panthère Légère is a beautiful flanker because managed to keep the DNA from the previous version, but with its own personality. And the result is a fragrance of greenest nuances, when it reaches the skin, transmitting more brightness. Then, the heart is much more floral than before, with more creamy and vanilla nuances, that brighten and give a tan to the woman’s skin, as it happens when using the Monoi oil (obtained by maceration of the Tiare flowers in coconut oil, in mild temperature).

Although it is also an Eau de Parfum, if compared to the fragrance of La Panthère, it presented better projection, as well as greater durability on my skin.
About the bottle, Cartier managed to overcome itself. If previously was beautiful enough, now it became even more impressive.
No wonder that in the event for the release of this perfume, the company stated that the technology used was patented and that among all its precious stones, this is the most stoning.

In La Panthère Légère, the feline soul – trapped before – was set free. The Panther is loose!

This is indeed the lighter, more suited for day-time use, version of La panthere. Less hairspray-like aldehydes in the beginning, fruitier and more lightly floral. An every day modern chypre. Very elegant.

Great opening, with fresh notes of fruit and gardenia! The drydown was not that good, even masculine because of patchouli and leather. Gardenia disappeared at all in the end, and I wanted it to stay.

Very nice classical scent without cloying nature of classics. I sense mostly oakmoss and musk and I like the composition.
It's a grown up scent for serious matters. Appealing and interesting. Very sophisticated.

Beautiful, powerful, mysterious and very oriental. Not for everyone, you really have to like oriental perfumes. It has a vintage style that I adore and I really appreciate, since all the NEW perfumes are...blah :( This remains true to the spirit of panthere ,opium etc. This could replace to my heart the old opium. Congratulations to the team WHO worked for this, some other teams could understand what means to rename a legend and still create your own legend.
Anyone offering to swap it, I would be glad to discuss their offer!

Mathilde Laurent caught my heart. Guet Apens and now La Panthere Legere..... Everything that made La Panthere EDP too strong for me had been muted down without loosing the superb grown-up lady from Paris caracter. I don't feel it beeing a wild cat, or a sexual beast. Instead, I think it is a classical, sophisticated, FRENCH parfume, a modern version of the wondrous, multiple, uplifted old-school parfumery. A gem amoung the shoddies (candy-sweet, boreing trendy scents). Hurray!!!!!

Wild scent indeed, not for a shy lady! At first I liked it very much, but unfortunately it does not blend well with my skin. I mean that after some time I can smell a lot of leather, musk and woods.
Better try it before buying, just to make sure that it blends nicely to your skin.

This is a strong grown up scent you should get used to. It opens with old dried fruits, green notes and not fresh but more dark and dirty earthy ones and gardenia flowers. Gardenia flowers soften a little bit the opening. So the first blast is rather hash, I just wait when it gets calm.
Middle notes appear about 30 min - 1h later. Tiare flowers add some sweetness and more gentleness to this perfume which becomes more soapy. Flowers merge with oakmoss, patchouli and a hint of leather which are more prominent than the musk. I can hardly detect the musk in the base. Oakmoss and patchouli are responsible for a grown up character of this fragrance and during all the wearing you feel this earthy and dirty main line.
It remains cold perfume evoking an alert. It wakes you up and you don't feel yourself in your usual comfortable environment but more in a hostile one because panthère is hunting!
Generally it is a good high quality fragrance with enormous projection and over 12h lasting power. The scent is quite different and distinguishes itself from generic sweet fragrances of the actual market. Btw I adore the bottle.
I like it but not to the point to purchase a full size bottle or may be one day later not now. Nevertheless I can understand the enthusiasm of other reviewers and their passion for this fragrance!

I smelled it...... and I love it!Yes there is the "mother" La Panthere-she is the big panthere the very wild cat,and the legere version is a lighter version but the same with a twist in it!
At first it's very green and a little fruity, very very good...........and than it turns into a gorgeous gardenia, oakmoss perfume with a light tiare flower in the background.
And when it dry down it's sooooo goood floral perfume with a SEXY,EROTIC,WILD CAT feeling and with a green notes and musk.
I think it's perfect for early spring,autumn.
I loveee this version, soo soo goood, very lovely,a real women perfume who is confident, independent.
And the bottle.....Oh my goood, sooooo beautiful,ohhhh......ohhh I am in loveeeeee!!
Love it so much,looove forever!

I sampled this on my previous trip to Nordy's although I didn't get a sample. When I called the SA to confirm another request I she asked how I liked the samples I tried. I told her I thought that this scent was very nice but hadn't got a sample. She offered to mail me one. Wow! How great is that. I got a box from UPS which had a small cosmetic bag, and many samples including this one. I will be buying this beauty and I will purchase from my favorite SA Samantha at Nordstroms.

Got this beauty today! They got rid of the weird, at least to me, "fruit" opening and musk, and it's pretty much all about the florals this time around. I love it! It fits in nicely with my two Baiser Voles. The press on it calls it a "sun-kissed" version, and that's perfect. It's a beachy white floral. Love at first whiff, and love at first sight when I saw and held the bottle! Great job Cartier!
