J'adore by Dior is a Floral Fruity fragrance for women. J'adore was launched in 1999. The nose behind this fragrance is Calice Becker. Top notes are Pear, Melon, Magnolia, Peach, Mandarin Orange and Bergamot; middle notes are Jasmine, Lily-of-the-Valley, Tuberose, Freesia, Rose, Orchid, Plum and Violet; base notes are Musk, Vanilla, Blackberry and Cedar. This perfume is the winner of award FiFi Award Best National Advertising Campaign / TV 2007.

J’adore is a modern, glamorous fragrance, which has become incredibly popular, and for that reason developed in number of variants of different concentrations. J’adore is a luminous fragrance. Its opulent, golden scent shimmers on skin like sunbeams. The classic and ambitions of this fragrance reflects in the bottle shaped like Greek amphora. J’adore presents a new conception of Dior feminity, a scent so new and so in line with Dior style at the same time – sweet but balmy, slightly sharp floral with fresh mandarin in the top; jasmine, plum, orchid and rose in the heart; and amaranth, musk and blackberry in the trail. It was created in 1999.

thought this would smell amazing as i'm a fresh floral type of girl, but i was hugely disappointed :( definitely more suited towards older women.

Norie

It is amazing how polarizing this fragrance is on here. 😂 When I first sprayed this on a card, I thought it would NOT be for me. But I persisted and sprayed on my arm. It seemed a little sharp for the first few minutes and gave me hairspray vibes. BUT THEN IT DRIED DOWN and became this elegant shampoo fragrance that will be an easy reach ALL YEAR. This is very classy, clean, IT GIRL fragrance for those who like fresh aquatic florals.

strokingmyguitair69

It literally smells like hair conditioner. Not in a bad way tho! It is deep and gorgeous.. just very mature.

midget11

upscale but typical designer perfume, smells like a moms perfume (idk if thats cuz my mom wore this for years)….its extroverted but sophisticated, kinda looks like angelina jolie as a mom in her mid 40s vibes…it would make me nauseous in the car when my mom wore it, and i would get headaches wearing it myself as does have the perfumey stink/sharpness (tho its not a chypre, i think its from the jasmine or mandarin orange), i never smelt it and thought wow I love this scent…i just smell it and think “oh…perfume”…its nice but nothing special, let alone memorable, and theres many designer scents I adore despite havjng a taste for niche fragrances- this does not fall into that category unfortunately. Its a shame bc the bottle is iconic, I wish the juice was too- this line is just a bit outdated and i imagine only older women still like this, the younger gen have moved on to vanilla. its a well loved and popular fragrance, perfumey, WOMANLY, Ive worn it about 10 times in my life and had an ok time, love the bottle and it will stay for my collection, but lets just admit its a little boring, sorry not sorry to the 30+ year olds who cant live without this, youre just old x

Peaches&Cream

Yes, I have finally found my signature scent ! Such a light, classy, clean fragrance that is perfect for a spring day or a rainy day like today. It makes me smell so clean like a nice scented soap that stays on you. I remember my grandmother wearing this back in the day but the sillage was much stronger, now that I am wearing it is smells floral, fruity (pear) and aquatic. It lasts very long too, I don't need no more than 3 sprays on clothes and 2 sprays on skin.

henderson_the_rain_king

from a longer while ago, it was a gift, and i have no idea anymore how it smelled, which means it was not a particularly unique and/or memorable scent for me. never been one for the run-of-the-mill florals, much.
the bottle design is beautiful tho - that stunning elegant silhouette line - perfection. reminds me of the tribal women who make their necks super long by stacking gold ring necklaces on them - the kayan tribe from myanmar.

RamasNewObsession

I got this perfume as a gift but if I had smelled it before I would have never gotten it to be honest. It’s very heavily floral, it’s not unique or new and I feel like I have smelled it a million times. That’s not to say it is timeless. Also, as a person that suffers from allergies when I am overwhelmed with a scent, this perfume is definitely something I would avoid.

bluepistachio

A classy perfume mom loves. it became her signature. A nice fresh pear and top of jasmine. instant classic beauty.

sarp

This perfume is mild at best, The opening is alright, The base is alright, basically everything it is alright. Only bought it cause the bottle is amazing.

archerries

Extremely, extremely floral (instantly reminded of the middle notes in Hypnotic Poison) with a hint of melon. The pear upon initial spray is divine but unfortunately lasts a matter of seconds. Magnolia, jasmine, lily-of-the-valley and roses coming through strongly. Slightly powdery, crisp and mature - certainly not a youthful fragrance. Someone made a Febreze comparison and now that's all I can think of.

Fleurdel

I’m not sure why but my skin chemistry seems to work with it to break down the main small to be musk. Smells to me like a pungent scent like old perfume. My mum used to have a perfume that she dots on her wrist, I think it’s musk and it smells like this one. I wanted to smell some flowers but I don’t smell any strong floral scent. To me this does not really have much of a distinct fragrance, I’m not sure how to make this a signature scent.

TitaSofia

I don't understand some of the reviews ... I guess a perfume smells different on each person. I really like wearing and smelling this one. It's not sweet but smells expensive and fresh floral at the same time I don't know why it smells like champagne maybe because it's a bit citrusy. I get compliments when I wear it.

worldgeorge310

Fruity at first...then BANG.

szania

Alluring and sharp white florals, classic but definitely sexy. You have to wear this perfume or it will wear you so beware. Timeless, exigeant, a masterpiece. There’s no soapiness or medicine vibe but it is mature. Can be worn year round but I reach for it for date nights or dinner at what most people would call fancy restaurants.
When I wear it I envision myself bathing in a champagne and gold tub.

Genetos

The scent is okay, reminiscent of Pantene shampoo or conditioner, as another reviewer noted. But, as a male, I personally wouldn't prefer being in a car with someone wearing this fragrance. Yet, if I caught a whiff of it from someone passing by, I think I would find it pleasant.

h149

Pantene shampoo/conditioner.

luckyfreedom3

The top note is giving Febreze. Not much going on, very fresh smelling for sure. For my personal preferences, I give it a 6.5/10. It’s a nice enough smell, but not something I would want as my perfume. Edit: wow, 24 hours and a shower later, and I can still subtlety smell it on me. As the smell faded, it smelled more like vanilla and less like Febreze I think.

GracieLions

Layer this with Carine Roitfeld 'Forgive Me', then thank me later. 😍

I literally created an account on this website to review J'Adore. I'd bought a sample bottle because of the lovely reviews I'd read. I sprayed my wrists and OMG... what a rich, luscious, heady floral. It blew my mind and I could NOT stop smelling it. It was amazing and I would have made it my signature scent. Except...
Except, a few hours later, the floral was completely gone and all that remained was a stanky powder smell that I detest. Instant nausea. It took multiple washings to get the powder smell off. To say I was disappointed doesn't truly capture my feelings on this perfume. A rollercoaster ride in a bottle and not in a good way for me.

But if you like gorgeous flowers and powder smells, give it a try!

Nicki.Fisher

Hands down, I would have to be the most fussiest person on this entire planet when it comes to perfume….

OMG this perfume is the absolute bomb!!!!! It’s absolutely heaven in a bottle 💗 For years I’ve always asked staff in Myers, David Jones etc etc for a “clean, fresh, just out of the shower soapy, but also floral feminine smell” I’m sorry but I don’t want to smell like a cupcake, or coffee caramel, or spices that belong in the kitchen…. So many perfumes just stink to me and I was beginning to lose hope of finding anything that I could actually wear without having to wash off after half an hour.

Until this golden bottle of perfection!!! I always overlooked Jadore because it’s been around for years and I thought it would be outdated. Gee was I wrong!!!!!! With so many notes, it continues to tease you as each note appears and then the others come through. Each one complimenting. At the final dry down it settles to a scent that (to me) is like picking up a bar of soap. But not that lavender musty soap!!! That gorgeous clean of clean bars of soap.

Even after showering, I can still smell Jadore on me which doesn’t alter in smell, it just dilutes.

Absolute PERFECTION if you ask me!!

Saveria

Generally, I'm not a big fan of floral perfumes. But I love this one!

Why ? Because to me, it smells of roses, more roses and again, roses! And I love rose, whether in flower for its beauty and its smell or even in syrup, cake, pastry... Perhaps my love for the orient that comes through? (although the perfume is not at all an oriental but clearly a floral).

It's a very fresh perfume and one of the rare ones in this category that I managed to finish without getting tired of it.

More of a summer scent in my opinion, for sunny days with a light breeze.

perfumekiwifigorange

Smells exactly like a sip of crisp, cool, fizzy champagne on new years eve. Delightful and elegant, but strong. Beautiful, feminine and crisp scent.

Kaiakaia

This perfume is an anomaly for me. I got it two summers ago during a vacation and I was obsessed, like oversprayed a ton, could not stop smelling my wrist, OBSESSED. However now anytime I decide to wear it I end up wishing I hadn't all day at it turns quite suffocating throughout the day. I love the notes, I love how it smells in the bottle, and I love the bottle but lately, I find myself wanting to wash it off when I have it on for more than an hour! It makes me sad because this really is the most classically perfume perfume in my collection if you know what I mean, as someone else commented, it smells like what you would imagine when someone says the word "perfume". Long story short I am really not sure what changed with this perfume but now I definitely understand what people mean when they say it could be too old for someone in their 20s (like me) because when I wear this it feels like I'm playing dress-up.

PeacefulSunshine

This is the perfumiest perfume of them all.

What I mean by that is when I think of what perfume "feels" like in my head, I think of J'Adore. Simple elegance without being too obnoxious or mysterious or tropical, etc. This doesn't mean that it's the best perfume out there (and it's definitely not my signature), but I think this is the best, high-class perfume that should appeal to the most amount of people (someone below me called it "beige" and I get that for sure).

This isn't a sultry date night perfume, or a loud sexy clubbing perfume. It's perfect for the office, for an interview, for a symphony, etc. It's not to express your unique individuality but to say that you are confident in yourself and your femininity.

Everything in the J'Adore line is always so wonderfully blended and balanced.

Solid stuff. The best blind buy of them all.

Schondis

Nothing unusual, and a lot less "sexy" than I expected. I sniffed my wrist a few times and I'm already bored of it. It seems like something that would appeal to a lot of people though. Smells very beige.

Adela1502

I use j'adore since I was 19 and now I am 36
I love it and people around me love these parfume on me specially mens
It is a compliments getter for me
My husband like gourmand parfumes but these is his favourite and not a gourmand. For years, every single time I were this he compliments me and he never do that with other parfumes
What I like the most is how this parfume makes me feel (fresh, sophisticated, feminine and sexy)

jademcd

It smells like shower gel but in a very good way. J'adore is a clean, feminine and slightly fruity white floral. The scent lingers beautifully on my skin. Nice sillage! The sample makes me want to get the full bottle. I recommend trying the EDT if you like scents that are citrussy and less musky.

Ariete76

I fully agree with those who say that it is better now than it was 20 years ago! I remember that I pestered my husband, who was my boyfriend at the time, to the point of exasperation to get him to give it to me as a gift.... and guess what? As soon as I wore it a couple of times I couldn't stand it! Too. Yes, because it was too heavy and dark for me, I bought it again a few years ago and it's a completely different story, delicious fresh, fruity dessert much "lighter" than the original one. In this case I also prefer the more youthful, more wearable flanker plus everything! Despite having several perfumes, this splendid j' Adore remains a must-have for me, I find it is never out of place, very feminine and sensual.

iocean

I love this scent. I just got it, so will add to this review after I've worn it a few days, but upon first application it is the most lovely scent out of about a dozen I just purchased samples of. It is definitely a sweet, feminine scent, but not powdery. I consider the powdery smell to be the old lady smell. Feminine, but in a 'no thanks' way. I don't get any of that with this fragrance.

Emilie1806

I unfortunately Can’t stand it. It makes me feel sick, and like I’m going to have a headache. I ended up selling it.

sjfb

really not my kind of thing. opening was beautiful and fresh but found the dry down to be overly musky to my taste and frankly very sickly. made me feel unwell to the point i had to overspray a different perfume to “cancel it out”

szeon

First and foremost, this is one of the most elegant and fun bottles I have ever owned. The perfume's scent, to me, was one of the most unique I had ever tried out. I used to save this perfume for special occasions only since it smelled expensive, seductive, and very classy. This is another perfume you can't go wrong with and is wearable throughout any season and special outing. It is floral but in a much more mature way compared to other floral-heavy perfumes. The top notes of all the fruit add that extra punch needed to turn heads. Love it!

xrhea

one of my favessss, most complimented by men when I wear it. such an elegant and expensive scent!! it is an incredibly light scent but I love wearing it to dinners and its longevity is around 5 hrs id say.

Chrisandra

I have a bottle from 2000 which is more than half full.
It didn't turn at all and luckily, time didn't affect its performance either.
One spray on my inner wrist lasts at least 7 hours.
If I double spray on top of unscented vaseline, it lasts around 10-11 hours and much longer on hair and clothes.
A classy, elegant floral and fruity scent.
I also have the Summer Fragrance version from 2004 (alcohol-free), which is lighter and lasts less.

Brazilianbadbeech24.

Smells expensive and gorgeous i really like it but not for full price and wouldn’t buy a full bottle, she’s nice but not for all that better options out there plus she doesn’t last super long 😭 but still nice fs

NadiasmellsGorgeous

J’adore is a classic fruity fresh scent. This perfume always reminds me of stealing my mom’s perfume before I went to school. However, I distinctly remember my mom’s perfume lasting for hours. Now I spray it and it only lasts for 1 hour.
I know perfume took out the “toxic” chemicals that made them last longer, but it’s not like they put the price down to compensate.
Can we go back to those?

kittenpawz

Oh I so love it. 🥰

My introduction to J'adore collection started with Infinissime flanker which I found extremely unpleasant so I was afraid the same would happen with me and the original, but it turned out to be quite the opposite. It's also the closest I've come to finding the perfume my elementary school teacher wore in 2000s. Taking reformulations into account, I'm 90% sure I've found it. It was a delightful scent that filled the room and fitted her perfectly: I remember her as the kindest woman ever who genuinely loved what she was doing. At the time she was a very elegant, sophisticated woman in her 50s with hair color close to that of a bottle of J'adore. Her adult children supported her and now that I think of it, her clothes and perfume always seemed designer. She didn't *need* to work but continued to simply because she loved us and being a teacher which I'm still thankful for because the classroom always felt sunnier with her in it. That's precisely how I feel about this fragrance. A sort of quiet luxury, gracious, chic and cheery vintage fragrance.

I don't like that it's considered an "office scent" probably due to not being daring, intense or dark. However it smells very vintage and romantic in the true vintage sense, hence it is absolutely not boring. I can't imagine it on an office clerk because of how old-fashioned and fanciful it comes off to me. This fragrance would fit Dior of the old. I think even Christian Dior himself would have approved of it, it fits his idea behind Dior's new look so well. Everything he wished to see in (and on) a woman is highlighted by a fragrance like J'adore.

It evolves a lot. In the opening I thought it smelled a tad animalic and far from ideal but that passed in less than half an hour and since then it's been splendid. It's true to the listed notes but it's not the kind of perfume where you can single out the notes and go "here I smell this one thing and then I smell that one thing", no, it's like one complete composition. The base smells very woody to me and well-rounded and refined at that. I didn't feel like it was especially fresh or aquatic but enjoyed the gracious floral smell almost from the very start. If you're having trouble with how it smells on your skin, I would bet it's because of the musk note, I've had trouble with Dior's musk myself a few times, spraying it on clothes should help with that.
My handkerchief was laying next to the tester card for a few hours and it smelled of the fragrance the following day. I got the most of the so called "old lady smell" from the handkerchief but it was appealing, not like an "old lady" but like a young woman who happened to live long ago and wore haute couture back when it was a luxury and a privilege.

Yes it doesn't smell modern if we consider 2020s standards of perfumery, but it is exceptional nonetheless and modern smelling perfumes in all honesty can't hold a candle to it. It is a very nuanced and intricate work. If you like late 1940s/early 1950s and Christian Dior's vision of femininity, you might want to try out this fragrance.

Sarish

For many people it is a generic flower scent, but I can't find anything like it. Very light, inoffensive, jasmine forward but not artificial, with sprinkles of fruitiness. It is simple and complex at the same time. A beautiful flower smell that does not cause headache to sensitive nose. I have many testers due to pickiness in perfumes and headaches from many, this one is one of a few full sizes I have gone for.

stephanita

I love this perfume! I used to love the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance when it was still in production and the other Miss Dior scents, but J'adore smells so good!

The melon musk scent I love, and the violet powder adds a nice touch to the composition.

I love Lily of the Valley, similar to J'adore l'Or which came out this year and I also have the parfum l'eau.

It feels as if I'm getting major Cleopatra vibes.

Dave12

This is a light, fresh and airy white floral that is perfect for summer and lasts about six hours on me I always opt for white florals so this is right up my alley it has an oceanic vibe. Overall I like it a lot.

Deianera

Yeah this doesnt turn out too great on my skin, the florals plus the ozonic, make it smell a little bit like cleaner/dishwashing soap on me with the dry down. But for a short beach night walk in summer it's ok.

IVamp

One of my favorite white florals. Angelic, ethereal, and gracious. Happy and inviting in the warmest, softest, most tranquil way possible. Light feminine vibes to a fairy-like level. Average longevity and sillage, not overpowering. The drydown is sweet and creamy, doesn't turn sour or alcoholic. It's a bit overpriced for this performance but the scent is so addictive I can't stop re-purchasing it. It's one of my must-haves for warm weather.

buttercupies

It's a really fresh and ozonic take on white florals - at first spray it smells really airy, but as it dries down on a skin I can only find the white florals - nothing else. It really reminds me of Gucci Bloom, but J'adore is a lighter version of it (on the drydown). I feel like it's a safe fragrance, sophisticated and "old money"-ish. It's a really good choice for work, really safe and doesn't scream in people's faces. I don't think it's a compliment getter, you smell good but not that good for people to tell you that. It's just a really safe smell - fresh, airy florals.

amaramarie0208

There's a lot of white floral in this one, and it's a very classic, typical scent, that some (myself included) may find a little pedestrian or unspecial. It's very pleasant though, yet at times I find its citrus notes a little too fresh and tangy.

karinatfragrantica

Classic, non-descript floral, well blended but dated imo

Gimathedi

It is one of my favorite perfumes. Amazing white floral scent that is sophisticated and feminine, and it works well for any time of the year.

noshinn

smells like a nice shampoo, very pretty

LovelyMsHoneyBee

Hmmmmm I sprayed this on my wrist and was immediately turned off by the plastic shampoo smell. It's light and floral but there is something in it that does not agree with my skin. I decided to give a small spray to my clothes instead and there is where I got the magic of this perfume. It is light and airy, I didn't get any of the plastic. The shampoo remained but the most expensive shampoo that you could find. This smells like the flowers in an upscale spa. I thoroughly enjoyed it on my clothes. I'll give it another try on my skin without a scented lotion to see if they didn't play well together or it was indeed my chemistry. It smelled good enough on my clothes that I will keep it either way.

ablesister

Gift from a lover. Coincidentally released in my birth year. I loved this immediately. perfect for daily wear or special occasion, perfect bottle design. Feminine without being super floral (to my nose), sexy but in a stumbling, awkward way....I can see why some might scoff at it but I'm no sophisticated woman. Just so special to me. Date night, flirting, adventure, a new year's eve going into the 21st century. leaning towards cozy fall/winter vibe, but I wear it year-round. The ad imagery w Carmen Kass suited it well...the rings around the neck...so good. Disagree with the "mature" descriptions, it's very girlish to me. Uncontroversial in its sweetness and glow.

forestpisces

All I can say is that if you love florals and have expensive taste this is for you. Smells very light and feminine, there's nothing sweet to it in my opinion. I can imagine a 28 year old soft rich woman wearing this.

killua_zoldyck

This is my go-to fragrance and my first ''expensive'' one. It is fruity-floral and feminine but also refreshing. It is indeed classic with a luxurious vibe. However, halfway through my 100 mL bottle, I am slightly bored with it...
The performance is superb, with moderate sillage and significant longevity. It is good as a signature scent both for a younger mademoiselle and a well-established madame.

Cristina S.

I recently fell in love with this fragrance. To me it smells like a cool forty-years old woman who has her life figured out. It's feminine, sofisticated and calming. It's the smell you would expect an expensive and rich body cream to have. What I smell the most is a captivating magnolia and a musk that lingers on hours after you applied the perfume. On me it lasts a lot (the whole day) and I like that it's not an overpowering scent that screams at you. I find it very balanced: it's not a skin scent but it also doesn't have a great projection. To me this is an autumn/winter fragrance that's perfect for everyday wear.

Llessurx

I received this as a sample and I have honestly never disliked a perfume so much.

Imagine it’s the end of a long day at work. You’re developing a headache. You get into a humid, hot packed out public transportation vehicle. In these scenarios there’s always someone who is wearing some extremely sweet, nauseating, over powering scent. J’adore Dior brings me right back there.

Also has a subtle undertone of a public bathroom. Cheap air freshener has been sprayed, but underneath there’s subtle tones of poop.

In summary - gross, sickening and headache inducing.

LeonoraM

love. Need my mother to stop wearing SO I CAN

MTK82

I love Dior perfumes...and this one is the Queen of them all! It's majestic, sexy, feminine and beautiful! Everything a woman wants to be! And it's lasts and lingers on forever...my man loves it on me too! My favourite forever...I'm on my 3rd 100 ml bottle!!

Mia80

I’m not saying it’s bad, I’m just saying: nothing new here. Nothing new to add on to scent world. Libre, on the other hand…

poirot303

My mom gifted this to me as my first ‘adult’ scent and it’s always been unwearable to me. I don’t smell any of the notes listed, just powder. It’s another beast mode perfume, so you can’t get it off for 2+ days after just one spritz. Instant headache. It’s a solid no for me.

Soni12

She’s a very maternal and comforting warm vanilla scent. The bottle is a huge giveaway of what to expect from the scent. Feminine and tender. And the performance is absolutely amazing. Definitely mature.

emilianods75

Is it only me or the new reformulations are weak in terms of Longevity and sillage? What's up Dior?

romanticblossom

Love, love love it. It is a classic that can still be worn in these modern times. It is loved and complimented by many.
Very well balanced, lightly clean fruity with white floral notes. It last really long, smells expensive and luxe.
Very feminine and I associate it with a motherly figure. It is warm, sparkling, beautiful, classy and very elegant.
It suits a classy feminine woman who is very put together, soft spoken, womanly and loves to wear beige.
It will always remain one of my favorite together with the EDT version, both are very beautiful.
This version has more fruity notes, adding a lot of depth to the fragrance, but edt is also very beautiful leaning more floral. Both versions are clean smelling, making it very feminine.
J'adore will always hold a special place in my heart.

brt

I've loved fragrance all my life - even as a child - but it's only in the past ten years that I've tried to learn more about the fascinating history and creation of that world that is perfume and its devotees. I started collecting seriously about then, too, and I recently realized that I had not one Dior fragrance! Well, that was a new reason to add another bottle to the old perfume armoire and I decided on J'adore EDP simply because it's a classic.

I tried it years ago and remember thinking how innocuous and virginal it seemed to me. So, I recently bought a set of the EDP and lotion and have been wearing it for a few days. I mainly get sweet, sweet pear mixed with rose and lily of the valley. It's very beautiful and smells of quality ingredients, and still seems quite innocent to me. It is comforting and gives a sense of serenity that brings to mind a fawn, legs folded under, lying in dappled sunshine peacefully napping amidst the sound of leaves rustling in the breeze. I think I'm smitten and will reach for it when I need to find some of that serenity. Peace and serenity to you all on this rainy autumn day! May you find joy your favorite fragrances!

SweetEnigmaticSoul

January of 2023 I walked into the bank and sat down with the teller. Before asking me anything she stated “You smell so pretty wow!” I was wearing J’adore perfume.

This is a very nice clean, sweet & fresh scent to me.

Mando

@op81

You are a troll with no fragrances in your wardrobe!

Troll, troll, troll!

spiderleenie

I have *finally* smelled this perfume for the first time. I don't know what exactly kept me so long, but here we are.

J'adore smells like soap ... But the most luxurious soap you can think of. That's the best way I can describe it. I think it's lovely, and I can see why it has a reputation.

I would only purchase a bottle for myself if it was discounted, though. I can't justify paying full price for a "soapy" perfume.

op81

this scent is horrendous. I don't even know if I can identify what the notes are in this concoction of-- i don't even know. This smells like your granny's fragrance she's had during world war two. Do not recommend it.

Agatazem

A more grown up Britney Spears - Curious. Not a bad thing at all!

rene.saller

I bought one of the miniature EDP bottles, which is exquisite--one day I'll splurge on a bigger bottle if the price is right. J'adore J'adore! It's a soft musky floral, and it's hard for me to pick out individual notes--just a lovely symphony of crisp greens, sweet fruits, and lush florals. Sometimes lily-of-the-valley pops up through the floral accord--it's a very nice approximation (these grow along a path I walk daily, so I know the fragrance well). J'adore reminds me a tiny bit of Pleasures, but it's not quite as soapy, not quite as aggressively floral. It also reminds me a bit of Beyond Paradise, but less "tropical." It has been a very long time since I smelled Poison, but 80s overload turned me off Dior for a while. J'Adore is a welcome surprise.

Hellokt

Tried a million times and it's always a total fail for me. This one and ever single flanker smells like unwashed, stinky private parts. Sorry for offending those who love this line...but for me it will always be an absolutely terrible concoction. I can't be the only one out there who thinks this.

AlexandraRoseD

Although well blended and lasts for about 6 hours on clothes with medium projection, it is quite boring and soapy to justify the price. I'm still having a hard time finishing the remaining half of a 50 ml after purchasing it two years ago.

The advertisment with Charlize in the form of a beautiful godess dripping in gold does not reflect its true DNA.

A commercial that truely reflects its essence should have been Charlize the home stay mom (but married to a financially successful husband) in a white t-shirt and jeans with just washed hair coming to pick up the kids from school.

Nice, safe and clean. But just about that.

Mattesha Erotica

I received a large 20ml decant as part of one of my orders and was thrilled as I’ve been meaning to try J’adore. Being a huge fan of Dior’s Poison and Addict lines it felt our meeting was long over due, and that I think that fact gave me rather high expectations.

First and foremost do not judge this fragrance upon its initial blast, you really must wait for the dry down and let it all unfold to capture its true potential. I was let down at first because all it was was a very clean soapy floral, but within a half an hour it began drying down into something much more familiar. In its current formulation, this J’adore smells like an iteration left on the editing room floor while the creators were working on Dior’s Pure Poison, though its likely the other way around as J’adore was released 5 years before. Its a much fresher soapy-er take on my beloved Pure Poison, perhaps a foreshadowing precursor to the iconic Poison flanker.

Yes they have a very similar aura and composition, but they represent two different Dior legacies, and its reflected in the distinct blending of that same type of white floral DNA. Like taking two different routes to get to the same destination.

In all honesty though, I likely wouldn’t grab this over Pure Poison, or will I be buying a full size of J’adore after I finish my large decant; but thats not to say this classic is unworthy. I exclusively wear fruity gourmands but if I ever find myself wearing a white floral, my needs are beyond met by the LEGENDARY Pure Poison and ICONIC Jesus Del Pozo In White.

Gorgeous!

amyfjkw

Probably the most elegant scent I've tried. When I wear this, I feel so empowered.

Charlize Theron is the perfect ambassador for J'adore. Classy and sophisticated - everyone aspires to be her.

shuuuuuyi

My auntie given this to me because she personally dislike feminine scents. This is my signature fragrances for school every day, the bottle is almost empty now because I used it daily. This is such a ladylike and classic perfume, not too overwhelming or wild. I noticed a little bit of caramel or salty vanilla when the wind blows, I was addicted. I find that this perfume last for a very long time, I can still smell it on me after a long shower. Not my favourite but I'd still wear it since it's such an easygoing scent

Rinio

A motherly perfume. A warm hug and a kiss on the cheek by your mama when you need it the most. The exact opposite of sexy and wild or attractive. A mature woman’s scent with a golden heart ❤️

Lovaloo

I can't comment on the original, and yes, I know it's been reformulated several times.

The current iteration? Overpriced and a bit dull. Jarred fruit slices + white floral shampoo. Calice Becker is a talent, and she included a subtle tannic aspect that gives this perfume some dimension, although it is not saved. The jasmine is not aiming for realism, it's colorless and flat. The whole affair is rather aquatic and soapy, it has the modern Dior musk base. An early aughts functional product scent that comes with a Dior price tag. Glad this perfume sample was free, I have lotions and candles that smell better.

All in all not bad, but it's tired and overpriced for what it is. If it's your baby I apologize, I hope one day it is restored to its former glory.

Straight To It

For anyone unfamiliar with J'adore, it is a very heady white floral fragrance, but still sparkly in its essence. Think: a group of freshly showered young women drinking Bellinis surrounded by a lush garden of fragrant flowers. They are sitting next to an opulent magnolia tree, having a fruit tray with beautifully ripened melon, sugary sliced pears, juicy sectioned oranges, and deeply purple blackberries. The trees and plants that bear the fruit are not quite far off. The wind is blowing and you catch a whiff of the party disguised as a blooming brunch. But you smell the peachy and bubbles from the expensive champagne in wind, the sensual scent of clean skin of a gorgeous group of women, a fence of fragrant flowers with pillars of lush magnolia trees peppering the landscape, the sweet scent of perfectly ripened fruit wafting through the air.
Fruity, bubbly, flowery and sensual all at the same time.
I smell peaches and heady white florals immediately, then you get the pear that sweetens it, the orange and bergamot brighten it up and bring the bubbles, cutting through that peachy and Peary sweetness. Plum is floral but sensual and keeps the scent up, but the musk and vanilla allow that all to settle down against your skin that makes it seem like you just washed with an expensive white soap under it all.
Even the bulbous, thick bottle reminds me of champagne as does the color of the juice. The golden rings represent the gold foil that surrounds the neck of the bottle. It is topped off with a clear crystal, engraved, letting you know the experience of the wine before you pop it open, you will say, J'adore!

alyssarware

It smells soapy! But like a clean bar of white soap, like Dove or Ivory. Very elegant

brownieemaria77

I fell in love with this fragrance when I was just 13. So elegant, unique, feminine—just perfect. It can be used at any time of the year and is definitely a signature-worthy fragrance. It will always be part of my collection!

soymilky

All I can think of is wet hair and fresh out of a shower but with an added touch of sophistication and sensuality. I can't stop raving about how good this perfume is, especially during the sizzling summer days. While I do love wearing my trusted Nenuco baby cologne during the day, there are moments when I crave that alluring, sexy feeling and J'adore is the ideal choice for those occasions.

joanneJ

My body’s chemistry can’t allow me to wear this during warmer seasons/days, so this is one of my go-to Fall fragrances. It smells very classy, refined and elegant. I’d describe it as a fresh and sweet one, and it definitely gives off ‘grown boss woman’ vibes, but not in an old fashioned way. I do prefer to spray it on my coats and scarves rather than on my skin. I do this with all my heavier perfumes.

Lauraura

Beautiful fragrance, however doesnt last long on my skin, within an hour the scent has almost disappeared, whilst when i wear pure poison i can still smell it the next day, for the price i would want this to last longer.

eva.daisy.88

Yes, I adore this scent 😍 It is a comfortable, embracing scent. You have to love white flowers though, it’s very loud if you over-spray it. I love the opening, the white flower are so intense and sweet, it reminds me almost of the linden blossoms in full bloom and linden blossom honey. After that it turns more fruity direction, with pear and melon poking through.
Lasts good 5 hours on my skin. This is a perfume that never disappoints 😍

neşeyusubova

Fruity and floral fragrance. It's a scent I can't get over in the summer. An elegant perfume. Characteristic perfume in my opinion.
Although it is an old fragrance, it is still a perfume that does not go out of fashion today.

Rja94

Love! I’m a cheapie fragrance girl through and through but will always go back to J’adore as a safe bet. Clean and elegant smelling whilst also feeling luxurious.

umayy

i've just finished decant of it and i am considering to buy full size. some people think that it smells like an old lady. i don't think so. it smells like a luxury hotel shampoo, it is very suitable for warmer seasons but it can be used in cold though. i love it.

nisarsarah9

Smells elegant and is a safe option for women. The smell is really soft and I wear it whenever I'm not in the mood to experiment with any other fragrance. I must admit that I didn't used to wear it much and it just used to sit in my cupboard but once I started wearing it, I realized its actually good and can be a go to option if you are confused about what to wear on a particular day. Especially love the jasmine notes in this scent!!

Ericaxeliza

I have a bottle of jadore that was gifted to me that still has 90% left in the bottle. It’s beautiful but I just don’t wear it. Message me if you’re interested! I’m willing to negotiate price or make a trade :)

Kozache

Nice perfume but old-fashion

ElonorCrush

I always get complements when wearing Dior J'Adore, it has such a distinctive smell. Never leaves my side, even though I wore other perfumes, I always return to this, even just for summer/autumn nights. I have been repurchasing them since 2010s. I have also noticed that Suddenly Lovely by Lidls smells identical side by side (although I don't know if it lasts as long as j'adore).

Sassafras23

A perfect high-class fragrance. Exquisite mainstream. Justifiably expensive. One has to be elegantly looking and going somewhere elegant to pass her time elegantly. That’s where this perfume belongs.

Lotte_Liese

Oh yes, I like, adoration is too far off, but shall we agree that 'like' is good enough? Pear, jasmine and melon- these three notes come together quite well. I'm both surprised and unsurprised that I disliked this fragrance in the past.

ScentJunkie5366

Surprisingly lovely. I received several samples of designer fragrances. It turns out, the ones I didn't think I'd be interested in were my favorites.
J'adore is a beautiful floral fragrance with a sparkling fruity opening. Leading directly to beautiful white florals. The jasmine is stunning in this fragrance. I'm a huge jasmine fan, anyway but sometimes it's just perfect and this scent is gorgeous. I'm so glad I don't get any tuberose. I really thought I wouldn't like this scent because tuberose usually ruins a fragrance for me. I'm really not getting it here and I'm so glad.
The notes are so wonderfully blended here that it just smells like a beautiful, happy, sophisticated floral that would work beautifully on anyone. I'm so glad I received that sample. I purchased a 100ml bottle after using the sample over 3 days and didn't want to be without it.
Performance is great for a designer fragrance. I get 6 to 8 hours on skin with good projection. I received compliments several times while trying the sample out. It stayed in my sweater for a few days, as well. Please give it a sniff if you haven't, already.

deliberateangel

Pretty and non-offensive, scent and bottle. Nothing special and would be great if you worked in an office with conservative people. Would make a great wedding perfume for people who are uber conservative and like their perfume that way. Expensive for what it is.

Anelalm

The original formula was absolutely stunning. It smelled of opulence, bright, delicious and so elegant, almost sexy. The maketing is spot on on how it was. It smelled of feminine beauty, of perfection.
Don’t know about the new formula, sorry about that.

Atomikbomb_

I ordered a sample of J'adore because I thought I hadn't smelled it before. I was mistaken partially, because I immediately recognize that I've indeed smelled this somewhere, sometime...but I cannot, for the life of me, remember when or on whom.

This is really beautiful. It opens with a fruitiness similar to that of white grape juice, with effervescent (but not aldehydlic) qualities, nearly like champagne. It's deliciously sweet without being heavy or cloying, and I really, really think the topnotes are exceptional.

I expected this to be ill-fitting for me personally, because I don't consider myself a particularly classy or refined person. However, I the jasmine laced with sweet, refreshing fruit (these fruits smell better than the canned cocktail fruit smell or many things on the market lately) is surprisingly easy to wear. I don't feel that it's stuffy, unapproachable, or outside of my range at all honestly. I'm finding this very easy to wear, and classically lovely, yes, but not "too much".

It has a soapiness to it that provides a super clean element. It's as if there are really good fixatives working here to keep what are normally heart notes alive, because this lasts, yet doesn't dry down into too much musk or woods. It remains very much a white floral for hours. It's quite interesting when considering that white florals typically disappear much quicker than they do here. Eventually they do soften and it becomes less jasmine dominant and more vaguely floral, but this is after hours of wear time. It isn't too strong in the heat either (maybe if you overspray, but I'm wearing a modest amount).

Gosh, it's just really good. I understand why this is a favorite for many people. It's not groundbreaking, but it truly is a beauty.

Bomber81

I had this perfume in the original formulation back when we took that kinda thing for granted. I didn't appreciate it the way it deserved back then, though I do remember enjoying the scent. This new formulation is lovely as well, though I'm sure it isn't as intense as it used to be, this perfume has good bones and still is what it is. I received a sample at SDM of multiple j'adore and decided to start with the original. A delicate and beautiful white floral woody musk. It's not overly in your face, but also not too subtle. A very safe blind buy, I'd bet this suits just about anyone.

If you're wanting to try a jasmine perfume but tend to not like jasmine, or haven't had luck with that note in the past, try J'adore. This jasmine is so well blended, I can certainly smell the jasmine, but it isn't as intense as Jewel or the likes. It's just so feminine, soft and clean. You could wear this to a wedding, even your own! Or just down to the market to pick up some tomatoes. Could probably wear this anywhere and you'll likely get told you smell lovely. I love.

emeradora

I was expecting to dislike this one, since jasmine tends to be a little indolic on my skin, and tuberose… well, it’s the last flower I’d invite to my garden party. I ended up enjoying J’adore despite myself, though I’m still not a white floral convert by any stretch. Ladylike and linear, it’s a nice date-night scent, though it wouldn’t be out of place in an office setting either. The opening is a little busy, but the fruitiness turns nice and dark in the drydown. I especially like that it manages to be mature without being matronly. On me, it lasted around 6 hours with decent projection. Smells like a sophisticated, if unadventurous, wealthy woman on her way to the country club. Though I’m in no hurry to wear it again, it did surprise me for the better.

eacook160

This is a nice scent. It’s not my style, but I don’t think that I am the target wearer of this either. It’s unobtrusive and understated. Not complicated. It’s not obnoxious or overly sweet. I think that a lady of a certain age could wear this to anything. I smell a bouquet of flowers at afternoon tea time.

Galkagalinka

Update: I’m liking this scent more and more! It’s elegant, fruity-floral and as feminine as you can get. It lasts for weeks on my clothes, not days, WEEKS!! I am pleasantly surprised how good it is overall. One of the few perfumes that’s actually gorgeous on skin! If it’s this good now, how much better was it before reformulation?! I wish I’d discovered it sooner. It’s one of my signature scents now.

gatsby

I have an old version 100 ml.Tst. EDP for trade if someone in European Union is interested 💮

TheNyx2003

This is really nice , elegant , sophisticated and classy
And gradually it turns better and better it's fresh white floral_melony type of fragrence and it has charecter
A women over 30 which is crisp , self confident and feminine
This was a scent that i expected chancel chance eua tendre would be

Edit : i sprayed 2 puffs on my hand and
It's 7 hours that is on my skin , WOW

Xenabea

I wore this for a long time. I had the original formulation. An all time favorite of mine. This always got me a lot of compliments. Will no longer buy because Dior tests on animals.

81ghazal1314

People have described the scent perfectly, so I'm not gonna speak too much. Classy and clean, perfect balance between bitterness and sweetness and I mostly get honey even tho it's not mentioned here. But I don't know why on me it not only becomes completely bitter (still a classy bitter scent tho) but also it doesn't last more than two hours on skin. The projection is also terrible since I can't even smell it by the time I make it from the house to the car. I've tried over spraying it and spraying it after applying Vaseline etc too and it just doesn't perform well on me at all. Such a pity cause I love the scent. I always imagine if Grace Shelby in Peaky Blinders could choose a perfume from the modern days, she would've smelled like this one. Also I'm 20 and don't find this too mature for anyone

Allybabaa

This is mature, old school class. I can see my aunt or grandmother wearing this with pearls or gold jewelry. If you wore this though as someone in your 20s-30s, you would still get compliments from men as this DNA is classic (speaking from experience). It’s clean and inoffensive, yet sophisticated and like I said, exudes class. Perfect for the office or a daytime formal event.

fenobourris

@ecenova Interestingly, I'm a middle age teacher and some of my Grade 10 students wear J'adore !

Galkagalinka

I wish I knew what this scent was like before reformulation, I’m new to this one. I like this version so far. It’s a pretty scent and long lasting. On my skin I’m mostly getting tuberose and on clothes its spicy floral.

I did hear it was groundbreaking before reformulation, and People keep complaining. Why would you reformulate a masterpiece and disappoint thousands of fans around the world?! Other brands doing that as well. That’s how you go out of business because people will go look for something better!

Reigningflavors4

I have a large bottle of this up for swap... Im a fan of Gourmands, Oriental, Amber-Vanillas, spicy-ambers. DM me

ecenova

Smells like a middle aged teacher, which isn't a bad thing at all, quite feminine and sweet, I could see a mom wearing it as well. Longevity is ok. Would not recommend to people in their 20s. Still good.

Fragmorocco

I love this fragrance as a man, I have good memories with it, I remember growing up and always smelling this on my mother as it is her favourite fragrance, so I just got her a new bottle
It smells so good

HannahRosesAreRed

J’Adore is as pleasant and sweet a fragrance as you can get. It’s a cheerful, lighthearted yet calming blend of fresh fruits and gentle green and white floral notes. I get a strongly juicy melon fragrance at the opening, specifically honeydew or cantelope, followed by strawberry, pineapple and pear. The equally juicy magnolia lingers into the heart notes, alongside lily of the valley and tuberose.

The dry down finish does have a slightly soapy, powdery edge to it, which keeps it from being too young and cutesty—it almost reminds me of a sweeter, less woody Chanel fragrance—like a less woody and aldehydic No 5 or Coco Madmoiselle without the amber and patchouli. J’Adore is a cooler, fresher fragrance, tailor made for warmer weather and just mature and versatile enough to go from day to night. I can see all ages wearing this fragrance.

J’Adore shares many similarities to some of its late 90s and 00s contemporaries, like the citrusy mimosa flower notes of Clinique Happy, or the white floral, fresh magnolia-pear-tuberose Curious by Britney Spears. Being a Dior fragrance, J’Adore has good lasting power and sillage, so a little is all you need to go a long way. That being said, I think you’d really have to overspray for this scent to offend anyone.

isadrmm

I pretty much blind purchased a small bottle after testing it at Ulta. I have never even worn it. I hoped that the fruity notes i got on the test paper would shine more than they did on my skin, but it turns into a powdery old lady perfumy mess on me. If anyone is interested in trading/buying this from me (US based) pls pm!

tilapia_johnson

Bright melon and stone fruit paired with some of the most notoriously "screechy" florals, drying down to a creamy, musky, soapy (think Dove) base. The smell is not as insipid as most reviewers are saying it is, but it is a let down if you are hoping for a luxurious fragrance to match the bottle. It is a perfectly fine fruity-floral, but the floral notes like tuberose and lily-of-the-valley give a sterile-plasticky feeling, a sexlessness that makes you wonder what the point of wearing it is. It's not notably clean or delectable, lush or even fresh. It is an idea of femininity that I don't think speaks to many contemporary women.

bajablast

I think Dior put the most forgettable juice in their most unforgettable bottle

MishaGericke

One of my favorites. I bought my bottle on my way home from France in 2013, and it still smells amazing. I love the interplay between the fruity and floral accords, and how they form interesting combinations as time goes on, which means that every time I check in with the scent, there's something interesting or surprising to enjoy.

In a way, this reminds me of Versace Dylan Blue, but in a much gentler way, with most of the tangy edges taken off. Of the two, Dylan Blue is still my favorite because that bit of edge is a lot more "me". In a sense, I bought J'Adore when I wanted to feel a bit more soft and feminine, whereas I bought Dylan Blue three years later, when I started to grow into myself more and didn't mind a scent that was slightly biting anymore.

That said, I understand J'Adore's popularity. It actually reminds me of a fragrant sparkling wine (which I like), which is refreshing and soft, but at the same time has just enough "fizz" to keep things interesting. This is an excellent buy if you want to add a staple to your fruity floral collection as I don't think this scent will ever go out of style.

One more thing I want to add in response to the reviews on this perfume: Of all the perfumes I own, this one seems to be among one of the most responsive perfumes to body chemistry as well as such things as the soap you might be using. Want something more floral? Use something like a lavender soap. Want to get a hit of fruit when you spray on? Use something apple-flavored or something similar. Dove soap makes this very powdery. Luckily I like all of these scents, but yeah, if you don't think J'Adore works for you, try a different soap or body lotion and see how it reacts. For this reason, I suspect this will be an excellent choice to layer with another perfume or eau de toilette.

Gigip123

I'm not happy with this perfume. It smells too much like lemon, it is like this citronella candles for killing mosquitos

jessica_chinos

I like this scent, I used it on my brother's wedding, it was appropriate. It is so elegant, mature and overpowering, I like it with moderation, I use it once every year or so...

smccmurphy

I didn’t want to like this given how popular it is but it’s clearly popular for a reason. Champagne sipping, classy fragrance.

lucccx

Smells classy, elegant, nice opening and dry-down. I'm personally not a fan of this type of perfumes, but this was a pleasant surprise.

DCJerry

The person below me knows what he's talking about and I 100% agree. Also, I would like my fiance to wear this on our wedding day. Classy. Elegant. Divine. A proper scent for a proper lady.

VanillaV

J'adore Eau de parfum in human form would be a beautiful woman (not a girl) fresh out of the shower. She's sun-kissed and sparkling, well maintained, classy. She's got it together. Windows down on the way to the beach on a summer day in a car she bought and paid off on her own. She's wearing a golden anklet with perfectly polished toes. She'd be warm even in the midst of a long winter. She's probably too good for me. I can't afford her on a regular basis. I'm not sure how long the magic would last even if I could, but still... 💖

theperfumequeentiktok

This was an immediate no for me. I love strong/beast mode fragrances but this nearly blew my top off. It’s strong but unfortunately not in a pleasant way IMO. I don’t agree with putting ages on fragrances but this one definitely gives me older lady vibes. I think it’s a like marmite. You quite literally love it or hate it.

saho93

I think I need more time to process this. At first, I get a soft soapy scent. And that is one note that I don’t like in perfumes. But I want to see if it goes away to open up with more of the fruit scents described. So, far I don’t detect it much.

I mean the formula looks fantastic, something well rounded, fruit and florals. I just can’t get over the soapy note that seems to dominate on my nose. I will try another time and reevaluate.

Update: 07/15/2023. I tried again, and I don’t like it. I don’t know why, but I get a persistent expensive soap smell.

Cherrii

It’s outstanding! Fresh, lovely, have my own bottle. Would for sure recommend.

samra9

i could write an essay about how much i love this perfume! it’s gorgeous, classy and smells utterly divine. it’s a staple and must-have fragrance in my opinion. the melon note definitely opens the fragrance up and i find it very flattering and not over the top fruity

Iristhenurse

Classic and popular. Crowd pleaser kind of perfume ! I have always loved it. I just find she is too pricey and the sillage is not strong enough that you would probably have to build up a few layers. However she is gentle, wont give you a headache even if you spray a lot. I am a jasmine lover so this is a must have because jasmine note is nicely accorded with other notes. This is a good perfume for work environment or even bedtime for me. Day or night. Versatile and professional kinda girl while still charming, feminine and attractive.

xoxokeukey

I bought my first bottle.
Let's say this is a "classic-feminine-simple" fragrance. Something you can't go wrong, especially in spring-fall or warmer days.

I wear J'adore as daily fragrance.
As an office worker, I would say this is very safe; not overwhelming, but enough to make my co-worker notice that I smell good.
The longevity and the sillage on my skin between weak to moderate.

FYI; I spray it right after shower (around 9am), have to re-spray it after 4 hours or after lunch time, and another one before heading home (5-6pm).

The opening on my skin more flowery with touch of pear and melon; fresh yet sweet enough. I get musky cedar and white flowers for the dries down, it's so subtle but somehow very calming.

Overall it's a 6.5/10 for me. Definitely not my fav but still I like it. Pricey if I have to spray it like 3 times a day.

ToastyMonroe

I recieved this as a gift and I was unsure at first. I’m not usually one for fruity, flowery scents - preferring a more dark, seductive profile of amber and the spice of oud.

However after a few wears, I love it! For me the initial scent is still incredibly summery, I’m hit with the sensation of walking around a hot European city. I’d say it’s a very womanly fragrance, the sort of woman who likes the classics of an Hermes Birkin. It’s all not quite me but it’s who I’d like to be!

Unfortunately my husband told me I smelled like his Mum so my personalised bottle will remain on my shelf, rarely worn.

Pearlstar

A shadow of its former self. On my skin I get the rose straight up and then it fades so quickly becoming a skin scent. The melon note is perceptible after the drydown, but barely. It's pleasant but I wouldn't purchase this. Lucky you if you have an older version, or if your skin chemistry brings out the fragrance better than mine.

Shaina87

I'm addicted to this sweet and fresh white floral scent! I feel so feminine and classy when I wear this. It lasts for hours on my skin which says a lot. I swear my skin eats perfume. It's jasmine heavy so if you're not a huge jasmine fan I'd suggest sampling. This is another one that I'll always repurchase when my current bottle gets low. I reach for this quite often in the spring and summer.

Lagunita

Nothing too deep or complex about this. Envisions sparkly white bouquets, brunch, champagne, oversized rings, pricey shampoos.

spamchow

My mom gave me this as she was decluttering so I presume this is an original 90's bottle. I'm probably never going to sell it or let it go, but honestly, there is something about this edp that gives me a headache. Even after the alcohol wears off, I think one of the floral notes just doesn't agree with me. Nevertheless it's a pretty bottle; just not my cup of tea.

peachygal

One of the most generic and boring floral scents. Slightly sweet and floral and that’s it. I don’t understand the hype and never have. Doesn’t perform well either.

KippieBall

Chic, and very feminine. Would consider it as timeless, and easy to wear. Perfectly balanced floral/fruity fragrance that can be enjoyed my most women.

MichelleOd

This one smells exactly like 5th Avenue by Elizabeth Arden.
I'd save my money and just get that one.

Icarel

Highly overrated IMO. It is indeed a white bright floral but really commom white floral. Or it became common? Kinda the mothers of them all since 2000. I guess since it came out on the market, it has been imitated 1000 times or is probably a good source of inspiration for others perfumes. To me, Dior definitely has other gems in its perfume marketed to women range that deserve to be promoted as loud as this (hi Dune and Dior Addict!). However, and to be fair, I must admit that the efforts put by Dior are impressive: all the advertisements are amazing, even the ones before Charlize Theron. Every commercial give the will to buy it or to at least try it. But the gap between the commercials, their intensity and sexiness and the scent is huge IMO. It also intrigues me that it is a best seller since I have never smelled it by accident on anyone or anywhere ... Maybe it is so common that my nose does not perceive it? I have the same with Le Male JPG…a close relative had a few bottles on her vanity through the years and used it, and to be honest, it had a really poor performance and it was gone really fast on her everytime. Less than 1 hour. Nevertheless, its a bright and nice scent and I understand the comparison with champagne. Sweet fizzy white wine. It has proseco, sparkling wine vibes for real. Hear me out, I dont hate J’adore, its nice, you cant really go wrong with it and you will smell good, the bottle is a work of art and the name really powerful, but I,and its just my opinion, find frustrating from Dior to put under the spotlight something like that, and do all it takes to make it iconic whereas they are other precious gems put in the cellar almost.

bananapancake

I still have the old version of J'adore, so I wouldn't know too much about the scent after the reformulation. But based on the older version, J'adore is just heavenly and so beautiful. It opens with burst of different florals, and the base note is heavenly musk+ white florals. Very long lasting with good projection. I don't see it as a date night/night out perfume, but more as a daily for winter/fall. The J'adore commercial really does the scent justice.

GUADELUPA

Reformulated J'Adore is a light, tender melon and a bunch of flowers. Simple and casual. Unfortunately, J'Adore became the "one of many" perfumes. At the same time, J'Adore at our days is not bad, it's good enough: tender, feminine, classy.
And the bottle is gorgeous, of course. It reminds me of Cleopatra's neck with gold necklace. I just would like the fragrance to return to its original formulation, because the original formulation was for real queens!

julietbythebalcony

Legitimately the most beautiful, sexy, fresh and feminine scent I’ve ever owned. This smells like a gorgeous and sophisticated woman’s freshly washed hair as you pass her by in a breezy summer morning.
I’m in my early twenties and this is by fair THE perfume that will always stick with me and be a favourite. Honestly, I feel like I should be wearing either a white blazer/trouser duo with a flown white tank top, or a white summer dress sitting on a yacht. I feel rich, elegant and youthful at the same time.
I don’t get how anyone could say this is dated. This is absolutely in my top three for life!

dizzypixi

This one caught me by surprise. I’m typically not someone who likes femme florals but this one is nice. It isn’t too sweet or suffocating. It’s light and fresh, very everyday, girl next door vibes. I like to wear it right after the shower. It smells clean and almost like a moisturizer. It’s not a signature girlboss fragrance but if you’re looking for something on the go I would recommend this.

TripleA

If you walk into a Rasasi store, you can get J'adore perfume oil. Smells and performs the same but is just much cheaper. I like to get it as a gift.

beta-ionone

Very heavy on the rose and florals but it's a fresh scent that can be worn during the summer....or any time for that matter. It doesn't smell like an outdated or extremely powdery perfume to me so that's a plus. There's no intense musks or screechy notes so this makes it an inoffensive and safe buy for the ladies and lasts a good while.

jasmine2278

My grandmothers signature scent, anytime I smell this I am instantly transported back to her hugs. A beautiful scent that isn't too sweet but is powerful.

Korra13

J’adore is so classy. The white florals do not feel dated like some can. The light musk is so relaxing and together with the wafts of fruit that feels unidentifiable until I look at the notes really roping out the sharper floral edges. A hint of vanilla and cedar give delicious body to the fragrance. This is such a sophisticated scent.

Michael Couture

Iconic! We have so many notes in this fragrance but for me it's LUXURY. Reminds me of gold.
We can talk for hours about the notes and how strong they are-but you just need to try this. Simple as that :)

Duxx

Reminds me of Laskarina by frapin, my fav frapin too, if you like j'adore or want something similar give it a go maybe.

lauren1nader

J'adore smells like spring.

Alex1984

Like countless times before, I don’t really notice a perfume when it’s new, sometimes because I don’t really ‘feel’ it and sometimes because it just feels pointless.
Case in point, J’Adore. Never really noticed it, never a fan, and yet curiosity spiked my interest a few months ago.
Found a couple 1999 and 2000 bottles for sale, got one to try and then went back for a couple of backups.
So, review based on one 2000 bottle and two 1999 ones.

J’Adore, created by Calice Becker, was a radiant floral that turned out to be the blockbuster Dior needed after Poison. Dune and Dolce Vita came with little fanfare, never really taking off and replacing Poison as the next Dior hit. J’Adore wasn’t conceived that way but surprise surprise, it went on to become an overnight success!
Milky, smooth, golden, scintillating, embracing…a smell that has been copiously introduced into almost every single scented household item, it went on to become known as a shampoo/clean smell that permeates dryer sheets, cleaning products and air fresheners. That’s where my lack of interest for it started; it became a functional smell rather that a pleasurable one.
But take the original J’Adore and smell it; it all changes.

Fruity nuances in the opening, dominated by pear and melon. A cool floral heart with a light white floral creaminess ending on a woody and vanillic base. Simple. Uncomplicated.
But the genius of Calice was making this simple formula smell expensive, elegant and golden. The complexity of the ingredients, the artistry of their combination. It smells high end. And that’s why it became such a hit. Everyone needed a slice of the J’Adore pie.
And just like every hit before it, J’Adore became a victim of its own success spanning clones, cheap imitations, and eventually even cheaper reformulations that have only made it a bad caricature of itself smelling cheap, trashy, plastic.
Now there’s no complexity, no seamless transitions from the ivy green notes, to the juicy melon, to the cool lilly of the valley and the creamy vanilla/sandalwood/cedar base. J’Adore became disfunctional when it started smelling functional.

J’Adore started, for me, smelling like luxury body products. It went on to intrigue me, and I discovered it’s beauty in the original formula. When I smelt the current iteration, it simply felt off, like a room freshener that tries too hard.
The new Millenium brought us many things, some better than others, but those last years when Dior was still rocking it, we had Hypnotic Poison, J’Adore, Addict and ending with Dior Homme, we got the best of the Galliano era.
While a victim of its own success, eventually feeling burned out, now, more than 20 years later, it begs to be rediscovered in its original beauty and formula. It can now be appreciated for what it was all along, a golden touch of genius!

chrissay

This was recommended to me because I love Origins Ginger Essence and 4711. Tried it, liked it, and will probably add it to my collection.

Jloveparfum

J' Adore is a beautiful Floral-fruity fragrance, Classic but with a timeless smell. It opens honoring the olfactory family, it begins very sweet, fruity, accompanied by a large bouquet of white flowers. It is very floral and sweet, here jasmine, white roses and tuberose predominate, all mixed with fruits such as melon, pear, blackberry, peach, plum, under a soft dew of citrus. Turning somewhat musky and subtly woody on the dry down.
A very feminine and elegant perfume. Ideal for Autumn-Spring seasons.

hotbaby1

All I smell is flowers. Too floral for me. I gifted it to my mom who loves it.

bad_flo

Safe blind buy, typical scent to be worn everywhere. I like it but it s not my cup of tea. Fruity - floral scent, i just dont get the hype around it. Bought it because i let myself convinced by a review i saw on YouTube.

icerise

It’s definitely a beautiful scent at first whiff, and the dry down seems pleasant and inoffensive. The name suits the perfume, and I can see why people adore this classic smell. It‘s unlike anything I currently own because I tend to gravitate towards bright and citrusy notes, and this was mellow in comparison, but it does remind me of Coty’s Ghost Myst. It’s quite aquatic and soapy, and I agree with one of the reviewers, it smells like melons with a hint of florals, at least on me. It was strong in the beginning, and it caused me a minor headache, but now it’s settled, and it is milder— I can’t stop sniffing myself. It’s less playful and more restrained. To me it feels more like a mature scent, for someone in their mid-30s and onwards. It also feels dated, a tad stuck in the 90s to early 2000s, but it doesn’t change how appealing it is. I wouldn’t consider the person wearing it mysterious, but I envision a white flower slowly blossoming and revealing an ethereal woman. Charlize was the perfect model for this line. The bottle, I don’t like as much, but it’s unique and memorable. Overall, I want it in my collection, but it’s not something I’m going to reach for or wear in public frequently.

soso.sofia

Unfortunately this is one of those perfumes that I wish it were that beautiful white floral that everyone else seems to get, but on me turns into melon going off...

Alexandra.kom

i used to wear this perfume when i was 22 and i remembered it as a super strong white floral that was overpowering after a while. Now that im a "few" years older i can say this is one of the best white florals i have ever put on my skin. I live in warm climate and this perfume smells lovely all year round! The magnolia makes it creamy and balances the jasmin and fresia so the final result comes out as a fruity fresh white floral scent. It stays on me around 5-6h but it stays close to the skin (especially the winter) .

villiruusut

Cloying white florals and smells like shampoo. Perhaps works better on others than on me. A huge pass on my end - I much prefer the Infinissime flanker. Je n'adore.

Pia20

I would go so far as to say it's a classic. I always need to have a bottle of this in my wardrobe, it's my go-to scent. You can not go wrong with having this.

Itiskimia

Omg this Smells exactly like a bathroom air freshener or a room spray, synthetic junk. absolutely insufferable and despicable

ca$hm3re

Beautiful fragrance.

If you are younger, love in the UK and love this scent profile but feel it’s still a little too mature for you… then go to M&S right now and buy 100ml of Mandarin and Ylang Ylang from the Discover Intense range for £12.50. It smells like J’adore except a little fruitier, more flirty and younger. It’s so delicious. I prefer it to J’adore, and I love J’adore already.

This scent is timeless and classic, pretty and elegant. It’s not my first choice for a scent profile, however I enjoy having the dupe mentioned above and it’s a lovely scent that anyone really can enjoy. Luxurious soapy vibes.

Anfissa

A classic white floral scent. I hope I will always have it in my collection. It’s indispensable. If you love Jasmine, you are likely to like it. Some have described it as soapy, and yes, it has that feeling of the most luxurious Jasmine scented white French milled soap. However, it’s so much more. It makes me feel luxurious, uplifted and sparkling. A great everyday signature scent for any time or occasion. It’s an easy reach. And if I could, I would bathe in it.
Generally people want to have fragrances that are exciting, unusual, super sexy, date night, etc. But recently I realized just how much I really need something beautiful and uplifting, but something I can wear daily. And nothing else I tried compares to J’adore for me. It works with my skin chemistry and is a forever classic.

Mima97

I wanted to like this perfume but it's too fresh and too soapy for me. Smells like my bathroom air freshener too 😂
Really sad that my money went down the drain.

Mwoodle

Very nice and very beautiful. Love the scent. Very sophisticated floral

venus28

Smells like soap from the bathroom of a very rich woman

Gyps

It’s a very pretty scent with a lovely melon note. Not overly strong or long lasting, so to me it’s way overpriced. You pay for the brand. It’s a like but not a love. Good office scent.

igalmusic

The best from Jadore range, really don't understand why people say it's a grandma scent, Very feminine white floral perfume, unfortunately it doesn't last long

candyxoxo589

this definitely has a pear scent to it with a powdery twist. Mediocre lasting power, but I think the hair perfume lasts better on me. i'd describe this best as a daytime spring scent.

lia.y

i appreciated the top notes but once the middle notes came into play it smelled like bathwater to me and i was over it.

Nora805

Beautiful floral. I gave a bottle to my boss and I think she bathed in it. My office cohorts hated me for giving it too her. Regardless. Its a safe blind buy.

natasha calli

This is still one of my favourites. Too bad it's really hard to find here in the Philippines. A good signature smell which is also a fan favourite. A true oldy but a goody.

TexasTuberose

On my skin this is mainly jasmine and citrus with a mellow pear for sweet freshness. This perfume is nothing like I would've thought based on the marketing. It's less a mean, slick beauty and more a light, bright, white floral maiden. I love jasmine and citrus so I really like it!

MsAd89

A wonderful very well combined perfume, with white flowers where jasmine and magnolia stand out with the fruits, I especially get the melon over the rest. The floral-fruity family is one of my favorites in the perfume industry, sometimes the fragrances in this family are guilty of remaining in 'one more creation that everyone likes and does not offend anyone, that has nothing special, that is loved among teenagers' but J'adore is very far from all these opinions so repeated in the reviews, it is an extremely elegant, beautiful, timeless perfume. You feel well groomed when you wear it, ideal for warmer days. Gorgeus

KylieBooFace

(Review based on a new tester in Ulta). This fragrance has brilliant packaging, marketing, aesthetic, and sounds AMAZING in theory. It smells anything like a bouquet of florals to soap-y clean to slight fruity. I can see the carefully coordinated artistry of the notes and how it could work on many ages, especially in a professional setting, daytime date, or simply to feel nice lounging at home. On my skin, I am not a fan of the initial blast but the drydown is okay. The blackberry and sweeter tones seem to come out at drydown. But after drydown. I don't think it particularly works with my chemistry, like the Lumiere/EDT, as it can get a bit woody for me. I wish it just had a wee bit more sweetness. Ocean di Gioia for instance borders on being almost "too sweet" for a "clean" scent (depending on my mood/perception that day), so I wanted original J'Adore to be something inbetween.

I don't think OG J'Adore smells like cigarettes exactly, but it does have a bit of that vibe on my skin, like the EDT (woodiness?). Again, my skin chemistry and nose preference is biased, as I am very much into strongly vanilla-based scents. I would estimate 99% of my collection has a strong vanilla base. For reference, I adore Miss Dior 2021 when I am in the mood and disagree it smells "mature" or like baby powder. Miss Dior 2021 to me is a youthful fruity vanilla with a wonderful, noble iris/peony/rose/lily-of-the-valley bouquet. I do however love the J'Adore L'Or (newer version- 2017?) for how it has the sparkling, clean, flowery, luxurious feeling conveyed by J'Adore ads, with a special ambery vanillic drydown. J'Adore L'Or to me is a wearable, more elegant, and ageless White Diamonds by Elizabeth Taylor type of scent.

Sometimes though, when I feel unwell I crave a nondescript clean scent. Maybe not too citrusy , not soapy to the point of nausea (Philosophy Pure Grace 🤮) . J'Adore is not it. Planning to try Mojave Ghost for shampooey goodness. Acqua di Gioia is great for wanting a minty citrus clean . On the bright side, I am however warming up to J'Adore d'Eau (white bottle) for such a nondescript clean flowery shampoo scent. Though I dislike the initial blast, J'Adore d'Eau settles into slight sweetness with more smoothness and less sharpness. Amazing. Anyway, thank you for reading my rambling thoughts on these gorgeous pieces of art we call fragrances. I love this community and the joy we share joking, ranting, and raving about fragrance. ❤

dinobarding

obsessed. when I first smelled it while sampling I was a little taken aback by the white florals as they're typically not my favorite. however, as it dried down a bit I just fell in love. j'adore is a fresh, soapy (in that it smells like a good bath soap), classically elegant fragrance. It is gentle and soft, so while the scent lasts, the projection is not beast mode or anything. I can see where people come from when they say it leans mature, but I think anyone can make this work. Please don't let people who mention age scare you. Lol.

amid

A very elegant scent, but in an old fashioned way. I tried it several times, the projection is very good, it lasts a long time on the skin, but I would never wear this. I imagine a severe old lady, with elegant but outdated clothes and weird red lips wearing it. It's not soft, not sexy, just loud all the flowers in the garden mix. I have and love classics from Dior house, Addict, Dolce Vita, Hypnotic poison, Dune, but this one is really not wearable for me.

jesz

Yes, the latest formulation has changed. Be aware.

The essence is the same, but it has 1 main caveat: It's a warm weather fragrance. Fruity generous florals, just as it's always been.

Wear it in the cold, and it becomes a cheap, odd powder lotion... thing. I can't believe this is the same bottle, but it is.

Magic in the summer. Avoid in temperatures under 19°C/66°F.

Garofita4

I love this perfume I am on my 3d bottle. I did not have it for many years and I bough it again. I wanted to buy it again for a while and finally I did.

Veronica1962

A really nice scent but I think it smells different from the bottle vs on the arm. I think I more prefer it from the bottle. Its nice and fresh and floral but still smells strong. 8/10

books.art.dogs

This is my classic example of a perfume whose opening is delightful, but the dry down is lack luster. The longevity and sillage are okay, but nothing to write home about.

strangelight

Unfortunately, this is exactly the kind of fruity white floral I can't stomach at all and used to make me say I hated floral scents.
It seems to have more of a character and less of a harsh synthetic scent than recent designer releases at least, so I can kind of see why if this is your thing, it's a great affordable pick.

mgcande

chelseamurdock

I always feel so refined when I wear this fragrance. I really appreciate that this isn’t a cloying beast mode fragrance on me. It’s a perfectly blended and balanced fresh, fruity, and elegant skin scent. I feel comfortable and beautiful when I wear J’adore.

Joshhiggins32

I’m not one for florals but I’ve seen this bottle so many times and just wanted to blind buy it and give it a chance. This is actually a really nice scent. It’s floral and sweet fruity mix that has a really nice quality to it. It’s a very good performer and the scent bubble is pleasant to smell. I enjoy this also because there is no powder smell, it’s fresh and that’s good for my nose. If you like a fruity floral that is sophisticated, this will do the job very well! Also this is great mixed with cologne. If you like this smell as a man and want to wear it I say go for it but if it’s to floral mix it with a gourmand or tobacco cologne and it mixed extremely well!

JongheonKim

As a 30's Man, I Think this perfume one of the best and attractive perfume it can be sniffed from woman. I don't know why but it's very keep sniffing nose magnet to me. floral note in this perfume is very well mixed for me. clean and dope.

sitingqueen

A very feminine fruity but not syrupy floral. Nice white floral bouquet. Longevity is about 3 hours. Sillage is close contact. Office friendly. Nothing wondrous about this one. Very pleasant. A safe blind buy. If it smelled as beautiful as Charlize Theron looks in the ads this would be a showstopper. In actuality, it is a middle of the road floral.

lauravladelena

I can describe this scent in 2 words: sweet soap. The staple clean scent to be honest.

Shikin27

Bought it for my mom for her birthday. I told her to try anything and pick anything she wants and she picked this. It's not my favourite. There's too much stuff going on and too many florals in one perfume gives me a headache. But she loves it.

liambentley

As a 23 year old man i think this shit is straight up bussin and i have no idea why. it’s my favourite feminine fragrance of all time and everything thinks i’m crazy for thinking so. i bought it for myself even tho i’ll probably never wear it because i don’t really wana go out to be told i smell like a sexy milf in her 40s. but god damn if i smell a girl smellin like this i will straight up cream my pants. if ur a girl reading this just go buy it. i’ve tried all of the flankers and i think the original is the best but that new one in the white bottle that looks like an egg is equally good i might fuck around and get that too. hope this review helps.

XOXO_marcel

Oh, man...this and "L'air du temps" have the most beautiful bottles in existence. If I had unlimited cash on hand I would buy this just for the way it looks.
As for the scent itself, I'd say it's just ok. Not outstanding, but not bad either. I have a lot of respect for this perfume given how unique it was when it came out, but if I'm being honest with myself, I wouldn't pay full price for this. There's something in the background of this one that reminds me a bit of grass clippings, and something else powdery that feels out-of-place. It's just enough to make me not care for it.

Edit: I tried it recently in warmer weather and got quite a bit more of the peach. This time it reminded me a lot of Tommy Girl, but it's definitely more sophisticated. Syrupy and musky at the same time. Pleasantly sweet.

IrisPrima

One word: Masterpiece!
This is certainly one of the most Iconic designer scents ever made. Stunning feminine notes: Pear, Peach, Jasmine, Tuberose, Orchid. Beautiful performance and projection. Calice Becker at her best!

CamillaAre

I have both the Edt and the Edp and the dry downs are pretty much the same after 4-5 hours. The difference is the openings. Edp is more flowery and buttery whereas the Edt is more lemon-fresh. I like the EDP more because there is something in the EDT that gets a rubber smell on my skin 10 min in and is off 30 minutes.

EDP opens up with a beautiful blend of flowers. Smelling it continuously while it dries down it´s almost like listening to a music accord when the notes are played one by one, but it´s well blended. The dry down is like a spring garden where all the flowers blended, the musc gives it depth and lingers in the background.

It´s not a sweet fragrance and it´s mature without smelling like an old lady. This could definitely be my signature scent, worn this for 10 years now and keep coming back to it. This is an old goldie and not so hyped, but deserves so much more. It’s a chameleon, works at the office, all seasons and any occasion.

Read some reviews and I might own a bottle from before the reformulation. So sad it´s not the same….

If you like this one or the EDT, you probably like Elizabeth Arden 5th Avenue as well.

Yulia Che

Classic crisp jasmine, quite versatile, so it can be worn all year round. J'adore would make for a good signature, which is essentially what I remember it is as - a signature scent of all of my girlfriends' moms in early 2000s.

Projection is there for only 30 min on me, the scent lasts for ~4-5 hours if I go intense with overspraying, otherwise 2 hours tops.

I've had this bottle forever and was only drawn to reach out for it for more formal occasions. As it's about to finish, I'm on the lookout for more modern jasmine/white flowers that would have a better projection and lasting power, so would appreciate your recommendations.

Croatian.Girl

I like this. Reminds me of my mother during our and her "happy years". Early 2000s. Great for nightout, nice evenings... Pure gold in bottle :)

Suelll

I have EDT, L’Absolu EDP, EDP and L’or. I got rid of the EDT as it did nothing for me and I especially hate the dry down phase. I probably will be feeling the same way about L’Absolu soon as in terms of scent it’s closest to EDT, it’s actually cloying to me but I know many people find the EDP cloying. I am one of those people who would dismiss anything that has too much mass appeal, J’adore in particular. The only thing that I like is J’adore L’or (the earlier formulation- amazing jasmine) and I am psyched that J’adore EDP is even better, my bank balance would agree with me on that. I am just so happy, it’s surprisingly easy to wear (only need one pump) I feel so good, pretty as a flower and I don’t feel that I need to hide from people who would find it offensive because it’s just too lovely to not share. Thank you Dior. My EDP is from 2019. Sorry if this post is not helpful I am not good with notes.

winxfairiez

this scent is so elegant. the flowers work together well, however i don't like the initial scent, but i won't comment on it as it goes away in 5 mins. this is an essential perfume any woman should have, it is elegant enough to wear in the daytime but doesn't make you feel like you're wearing something too fancy.

Lindsconn

Such a beautiful, elegant fragrance. This is a great performing aquatic floral with great silage and longevity.

Whenever I wear this I feel so elegant. I feel this suits any season, day or night. There’s a reason this is a classic, it’s such a timeless fragrance!

beatrix75

The one and only parfym witch I bought back 4 or 5 times and always I falling in love again and again! The best from Dior in my opinion, timeless and sofisticated

MimesOtto

Elegant fruity floral with a mature vibe, it is classy and timeless floral all occasion all season

perfumelover9999

smelled in store and smelled overpoweringly citrusy and white floral. wasn't a fan. i like the notes listed here though so maybe i'll try it again sometime...

Olliette

i have an unopened, sealed 100ml bottle for sale. pm me :)

MauveBee93

This used to be one of my most used, easy-reach, every day fragrances that I’d consider a signature scent of mine back in the day. Unfortunately, the newest formulation of this perfume is simply unwearable to me.

It’s so sharp it gives me a headache every time I wear it, there is no body or softness to it like the previous iterations. Just thin, sharp and generic. I’m honestly a bit disappointed because this used to be one of my favorites. Thankfully I still have my older bottle and have purchased backups of the previous formulations for future use, as I cannot wear nor recommend the newest formulation of this perfume to others.

If you can, get your hands on a pre-2017 version as those formulations are far superior to the watered down headache-inducing mess they’ve put out on shelves now. I understand that reformulations are inevitable and/or necessary, and sometimes they can be pulled off well but that’s just not the case here and it’s a shame that they had to ruin such a classic scent.
