Smells like a rich middle aged woman on a vacation. I like marine dry down, but the first blast is the definition of a heady floral.

Maya lilac

Testing Eau Capitale EDT from an official Diptique 2 ml sample.

Eau Capitale EDT is instant love for me. It’s a wonderful, warm tuberose centred scent with supporting floral notes of orange blossoms, rose, iris plus benzoin, musk and pink pepper. It’s a heavenly scent, fresh, bright, warm spicy realistic smelling tuberose. This smells like you would hold a big bouquet of tuberose in full bloom in your hands and smell them up close in the air. It’s a dream come true type of scent for tuberose lovers like myself. Femininity in a bottle…

I have more than a dozen of tuberose centred perfumes in my collection already, it’s my favourite flower alongside lilac, but I need Eau Capitale in my collection.

This is a very lightweight, ethereal and classy tuberose scent. The right one fit for spring season wear. As soon as I can get a decent deal on it, because it’s an EDT, the performance is not great, I would add Eau Capitale to my collection without any second thoughts!

Reminds me of Gucci Bloom and French Flower by Matiere Premiere. Gorgeous!

Exquisite scent: it's like daydreaming under a blooming veranda.

Tuberose is the heart of the composition, but this is far from a soliflore.
I personally smell jasmine more than orange blossom, which works very nicely in rounding the green facets of tuberose.
Pink pepper is subtle but definitively present, especially in the opening. I can also feel a light note of iris as the fragrance unfolds. Rose is mostly undetectable, unless you count the rosy-floral aroma of pink pepper.
Drydown is silky, warm and very floral.
Sillage is intimate and staying power is weak, yet stubborn: the scent fades quickly, in two hours is barely noticeable, but a faint sniff clings to the skin even after showering and sleeping.

Like music, every note plays it's part in creating this dreamy fragrance. It's a very feminine scent, light but dressy and somewhat nostalgic.

This perfume transports me straight to somewhere in the Mediterranean. I imagine myself living in an old stone villa. On an early summer morning I open the windows, and the scent of the nearby tuberose and jasmine bushes floods in filling the room. This is one of the most beautiful floral perfumes I've ever smelled. An airy, intoxicating, realistic tuberose scent that is perfect for spring and summer: feminine, indolic, timeless, elegant. The scent lingers on the skin for an incredibly long time, evolving into a softer, sweeter, and creamier aroma over time. Yet, the lovely lightness and airiness of the opening persist throughout the day, even into the drying phase. Do Son makes me euphoric, and I can't get enough of it.

This was my signature scent for a few months and then it started making me feel sick. At first it was incredibly fresh and clean but now it smells too waxy and soapy at the same time. Makes me nauseous so I sold my bottle.

dandelionsandfire

When I use this, I feel so feminine and pretty when walking around.

If smoothness was a scent, this would be it. Diptyque has perfected how to make a photorealistic perfume smell like a soft, smooth tuberose that has been covered in morning mist and the milkiness of the flower. You could almost feel the soft damp petals when you smell this. So far this is the only floral perfume that I found to have zero sharpness/screechiness. It has a creamy side to it which makes it rounded and beautiful.

I only like to wear this when the temperature is below 80 degrees. If it's hot and humid, the milkiness of this can be suffocating and too cloying to me (I'm rather sensitive to strong perfumes, so it may be fine for you). I've also worn this to to sleep in because it's quite cozy and comforting.

A white flower fragrance for introverts. With the edt version, Diptyque creates an ethereal ghost summoned on the memory of every fragrant white flower one might imagine: tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, orange blossom, or Easter lily. Do Son is narcotic and haunting. There is nothing overbearing here, and yet, it is a strong performer with a lovely projection--about eight inches from a pulse point--and good lasting power for an edt, about five to six hours on my skin. It is quite reminiscent of blooming star jasmine, a climbing vine grown on fences and latticework here in the southeastern United States. An excellent choice for spring and/or summer.

vipariously

Tuberose and jasmine.

Smells floral, sweet, and "deep".

Nice.

Very beautiful white floral notes
Dried down to a smell of jasmine tea
Last 6H on me which is a beastttt for EDT ( i haven't tried the EDP version)
Diptyque never failed me

aleckzandurh

I have Do Son EDT and EDP, each on a separate wrist.

The EDT is a true white floral. It’s brighter with a more energetic personality than the parfum version. This one wants to be known and feels like it’s leaping off your skin for attention. Jasmine can sometimes be too sharp or soapy for me, but there’s a softness here that’s lovely. I also seldom use the term “photorealistic” because I think it’s tossed around too often… but it does smell like my memory of jasmine vines that flower in the evening.

Since I’m really looking for it, I do get more of the animalic/ indolic quality in the EDT than the EDP surprisingly. It’s not aggressive or off-putting, just a distinction between the two. No one smelling this on you would say it’s “animalic” at all.

In short, I prefer greener scents, so I like the EDP more. If you like clean florals though, this one’s great.

ginandrice

A feminine, sensual, balsamic white-floral.

Opens with a surprisingly classic, "perfumey" moment; floral and elegant. Then it quickly dries down into a warm, skin-like white floral.

Do Son is definitely led by the lotiony, bubblegum smoothness of tuberose. Beneath that lies a warm, balsamic base, with a supple, slightly translucent quality to it—like a piece of smooth and malleable resin. There's also an element of vegetal/metallic funkiness to it, most likely informed by the pepper and rooty iris mixing with the subtle, tangy-green undertone of the tuberose. It's interesting, which I appreciate, though it borders on off-putting for me at times.

Do Son is in a similar vein to Michael Kors, but it's warmer, mellower, and more resinous, with a naturalistic, understated sensuality compared with MK's more overt sexiness. It also shares a degree of similarity with Prada Heat Wave, though Heat Wave is even more mellow, and lacks the tangy-green undertone of tuberose.

BarbieBright

@Fragrantica, please add Jasmine to the list of notes. Thanks!

BlockOMungas

Apparently it smells like murraya (according to my gardener mother).

As someone who doesn’t own this I feel like I can do a genuine review…

Longevity is 4-5 hours. Sillage is 6 feet for the first 30-45 minute but then quiets down to 3-4 feet for the rest. Lasts for about 6-7 hours as a skin scent though.

Smells like walking through the gardens of Babylon basking in the warm spring UV rays. Or maybe lounging outside talking to your friends and family wearing a sun dress and wide brim hat.

Luminous tuberose with gourmand orange blossom and comfortable musk. I love it, it's very beautiful and classy scent. It smells baby, it's feminine and elegant animalic floral but not powdery. I don't understand people say it's similar to Gucci Bloom which is powdery and very cheap. Do Son doesn't have a once of powdery note and it's very luxurious and natural scent. I smell the quality of the materials in, tuberose is subtle and fresh. The sillage is subtle, light, it's intimate.

fluffyfairy

Kind of reminds me of a grandma, but mostly it transports me to a lush tropical garden in full bloom. And, it shines like a star in the heat.

minhleee

The opening is unpleasant, heavy alcohol smell with a bit of floral and its gave me a light headache, but after a few minute, its amazing, very fresh Jasmine and tuberose smell.
Do Son is just so special, I really love it

Kkardaper

I really like Do Son. If your into white floral and tuberose you'll be obsessed. It's perfect for spring and summer, if you're looking for delicious sophistication in a bottle this is for you. My only issue is that it smells exactly like Gucci Bloom to me. More specifically Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori. They smell super similar only this one is more expensive. In my option don't waste your money just get the Gucci.

Jaeyoung07

Love, love, love this fragrance!! If you are a fan of tuberose this is definitely one to add in your collection. Floral, yet sophisticated and elegant. Performance of the EDT is also great; I get whiffs of it 6 hours after spraying it. Sillage is good too.

COLOREDGIRLSHUFFLE

I just got a Diptyque Discovery Set from the Georgetown store and the Do Son was one the sales person pushed.

It smells like a wealthy, white floral bomb, you’d wear for a day at Preakness, with a pastel Jil Sander dress, and a Soigné hat.

It’s heady for sure.

Kim Kardashian by Kim Kardashian is a great dupe for this. I’d get that first to see if you’d like to spend the money to get this one.

normalswamp

Smells like green tea with jasmine all the way through it's short life. It's a good scent, but it feels too straightforward and boring for me, especially when Diptyque has more interesting and complex perfumes.

Joz

Amazing scent. When people often stop you out of nowhere to tell you how good you smell, you know it is a winner.

NadiasmellsGorgeous

This perfume is so creamy and fresh. It smells like walking through a Hawaiian forest. The tuberose and Jasmin wafting on the breeze.
This is also a pretty close match for the discontinued Michael Kors perfume that was beautiful bright tuberose. And because it’s discontinued- the diptyque is the better price. It also comes in a body mist which is a very good deal.

ceruleankais

Upon smelling Do Son, I was immediately reminded of my mother. She loves a white floral, something delicate and easy to wear. This fragrance is one I wear during bouts of extreme homesickness and its simplicity adds to the appeal. Like a hug only a mother could give. Comforting, relieving. Just like home.

mccartneys

I'll preface this by saying that I am absolutely not a white floral fan. It's too sharp, overdone, in your face, and it seems like every 40+ year old lady I know douses herself in a white floral perfume till its able to give you a headache at a distance of 20 ft. BUT, this one is something different. I don't know how to explain it but there's almost an oiliness to this that smooths over every sharp edge. Like you have a bouquet but its covered by a blanket. The florals are there, especially the jasmine, but there's no offensive burst of fragrance. Its more subtle than that. It almost comes off as if though you bathed with a floral soap, and then layered on a floral body oil rather than just sprayed a perfume

dinkleheit

This has become one of my favorite scents, ever. It has a strong presence but in an elegant way. It's not overly complicated, which makes the notes shine. The projection is impressive and I can't stop myself from sniffing it all day. I think it also helps me have good dreams, too. The scent is comforting to me and doesn't smell like flowers in the distance or airy, but smells like you put your head into a bouquet from a fancy florist. I recommend only spraying one spray, because it is quite intense and potent. I think that the musk makes it less boring and dated, I think that it gives it a youthful quality.

amethystfeline

i love white florals, so i expected to love this! it's undeniably beautiful, but the jas/tuberose blend is shockingly light and not indolic. i prefer a dark and heavy rendition of these flowers, but this is perfectly light and agreeable, almost like a gardenia. in fact, i'm reminded of pacifica's tahitian gardenia, if it was more subdued and classy (for lack of a better word.) i didn't end up picking this, but it's a beauty.

MarineVardanyan

i had Do Son Eau de Toilette Diptyque, i didnt like at all. i could smell only white lily ((

ljsmith

Photorealistic tuberose/jasmine, like walking by a jasmine bush on a warm humid day. So realistic you can practically smell the flower petal texture. I get zero animalic/skanky, but maybe I don’t fully understand indole? To me it just smells like happy sunny flowers on a summer day. Incredible performance for an EDT.

¤[◊Garden◊]¤

Very beautiful perfume ! Stop comparing this to cheap fragrance like Gucci Bloom... It has absolutely nothing to do with it. Do Son is a very classy, round, animal musky scent and warm floral but not powdery. Bloom is chemical, low quality, soapy and slightly powdery... Nothing musky in Bloom. I'm going to buy Do Son because it's very elegant !

Flared Maple

Wonder how this smells?

Brew a cup of Jasmine tea.

Thats EXACTLY what this smells like.

irasimica

such a lovely scent! it starts off a little citrusy, and then dries down to a really nice ‘jasmine tea-esque’ sort of scent on my skin

HannahRosesAreRed

People of Fragrantica, I present to you, the whitest white floral ever to white floral. The titan of tuberose, the jumbo jasmine, the biggest orange blossom fragrance in existence. It's bright, it's sweet, it's animalic, and it's super, SUPER powerful. It's scrub-proof, it's a projection monster. It is the one, the only, Do Son EDT.

All joking aside, this EDT is no joke. It is STRONG. Don't be fooled by the "eau de toilette" typing, this is a beast mode fragrance in the way that white florals can be at peak form. Spray with caution–I tested this in a Nordstrom and this nearly knocked me out!

That isn't to say this is a bad fragrance. It's excellent. It's the most intense white floral ever. Almost stronger and more potent than a torrent of the real blossoms being shoved right in your face. Superpowered tuberose, front and center, with orange blossom a close second. I detect a hint of jasmine in there despite it not being listed. No rose or iris. This isn't fresh or powdery. It's sweet, indolic and heady, borderline aphrodesiac. White floral haters need not apply. If you spray this, you are committing to this scent. I love it, but it's way too powerful on my skin–something about my skin chemistry turned me into a walking asphyxiation hazard while walking around. It doesn't just leave a scent trail. It bulldozes! On someone with a sophisticated touch, this would be a romantic and lighthearted fragrance. Diptyque doesn't fool around, folks.

equatorium

pretty white floral!! more long lasting/stronger compared to their other EDTs! you can't go wrong with this one, although there are better white floral EDTs/EDPs for the price.

leesam

When I first smelled Do Son, I immediately liked it. Do Son smells EXACTLY like the way Abercrombie clothes smelled in 2010. It's a fresh, kinda sweet, slightly cologne-y, unisex scent that feels clean, yummy, and very intimate. I'm quite biased because I loved the way Abercrombie clothes smelled, and I'm so excited to have found a slightly more sophisticated ode to that era. Despite the freshness of the florals, I can see this being a year round, day or night, multiplayer scent.
The silliage isn't overwhelming on me, but the scent stays on the skin far beyond the initial spray. I couldn't help but continually smell my wrist through the day. I will own a full bottle.

jess_M

Just as lovely as Honour woman by Amouage but without the rhubarb. Creamy white floral. Sticks around on the skin for a good while 😊

PeacefulSunshine

This is nice! Tuberose with a bit of light salt (I guess that's the marine scent). :)

I don't think this is like the OG Gucci Bloom... but it does remind me of my Gucci Profumo Di Fiori sample. I think tomorrow I will have to compare that to this one and see which is better...

Thykes10

Photorealistic, florist shop type of jasmine similar to Aerin Ikat Jasmine. I'm shocked there's no jasmine listed on the pyramid on Fragrantica. The drydown has a honeysuckle aspect to it because of tuberose. This is a green/fresh interpretation overall- like the lush petals of the flower. I think this has slightly better performance than Ikat Jasmine, but that's not saying much. This has a very soft projection. I'm not sure the soft projection and short lasting power is worth it overall. On my skin the best projection was for about 2-3 hours, then becomes a subtle sillage/skin scent.

astralmonad870

Where is the iris and rose listed here? Pretty sure that is wrong. And so is the categorization of one of the note accords as being animalic, as this is the fresh kind of tuberose that lacks any kind of indolic "bubblegum" note aspect. This perfume has quickly become a staple in my collection, a holy grail of white floral scents, and not just the scent I thought I would be wearing to my church wedding. I’ve made a 25 ml dent in this over the last 2 months.

Sadie666

Without the sophistication of all the descriptive words, this is simply jasmine green tea.

ohuz01

Stunning masterpiece, beautiful waxy creamy ever so slightly indolic true tuberose. It blooms over skin creating an air of class, subtlety and confidence. Playful, professional but never boring. Arguably the best white floral in the market today.

francesco_grieco

Do Son by Diptyque masterfully crafts a hyperrealistic portrait of tuberose, revealing botanical precision that faithfully represents the true essence of this flower. This fragrance avoids any distorted or artistic representations of tuberose, instead opting for an almost scientific approach.
For those deeply passionate about tuberose, I recommend delving into Diptyque's comprehensive Tuberose line, which also includes their home fragrances. Within this collection, the use of genuine tuberose underscores their unwavering commitment to preserving the flower's innate essence.

bergamotblonde

Like pure, bright sunshine, a kind that's the color white and tickles your skin but doesn't burn it. Sunshine that streams in through the foliage of tender, freshly budded leaves and mottles a bed of soft grass. The promise of iced tea later. The florals in this perfume are strikingly present, but are rounded out by the musky base to something Venusian and wonderful on the dry down.

kayqin

I find this much more wearable than the first spritz would suggest. It's certainly "photorealistic" jasmine as another reviewer said, plus a lot of interesting breezes around that note which give me a brief impression of the Thai jungle (or similar), sticking my face into some white flowers there and listening to the teak leaves falling. For my personal tastes the dry-down smells too much like perfume - forgive me - so I don't think I could make this work in my life.

louie0800

I've said it before about a handful of fragrances, but I think I mean it this time... Do Son is my favorite scent. But not the Eau de Toilette- it's the Body Mist! (This review is primarily for the mist, though I've extensively sampled both the Eau de Toilette and the Eau de Parfum). All three formats are relatively similar. The toilette and mist are nearly identical, with the toilette having marginally better performance, while the parfum sadly lacks the marine note, which I think is essential to Do Son's charm. Do Son is mainly a floral fragrance, but that marine note keeps it fresh. I used the mist on holiday in very hot weather, and it was delightful. I kept some in a small atomizer and spritzed it on whenever the heat got overwhelming. Somehow, it managed to never get cloying or heavy, and felt clean, refreshing and beautiful. I get the tuberose, but also a fair bit of jasmine (my boyfriend said it was reminiscent of jasmine tea). I don't really pick up on the iris or rose listed in the above notes, but believe that these add a more well-rounded floral accord. When I step outside after applying I feel like I'm gliding on a breeze with petals swirling around LOL

The key to the mist is that it has an alcohol-free "micro-drop" formula. It has a milky watery texture that is an absolute pleasure to apply. The bottle blasts out a generous spray. It doesn't dry as quickly as a traditional perfume, but it does actually feel moisturizing (as advertised). The mist (far more so than the toilette or parfum) truly delivers on Diptyque's mission statement for Do Son: "a tuberose fragrance borne on the sea spray" and "hazy as a sea breeze". The watery mist literally smells and feels like flower petals and sea spray.

The body mist is a great price, especially in contrast to Diptyque's pricing generally: £50 for a big 200ml bottle. It has great longevity and light sillage, which is the exact performance I'm after. And while I don't prescribe to gender in fragrance, this can be totally unisex (though obviously different from typical men's fragrance profiles).

smithaker

I love this, even though the opening scared me. Thankfully, it settled down quickly. The opening was very strong tuberose and pepper and I feared it would very linear. But it quickly morphed into something lovely that I kept sniffing on my wrist all day long. It smells like sitting on my grandmother's porch in the deep south, where it's hot as hell and you smell gardenias (a close cousin to tuberose) all around the porch with occasional wafts of wild honeysuckle in the breeze. Every now and then a car drives by and kicks up some dust from the dirt road. The dry down is close to the skin and sweet and dusty. Good longevity on me, though sillage fades. But that's something I'm willing to accept in exchange for the strong scent memory it invokes.

washudtoj

WOW.

This was my reaction when this perfume was sprayed on the back of my hand. It's photorealistic jasmine in a bottle. Of all Diptyque fragrances I've tried, this one is, without a question, my favourite.

It's linear but I don't mind. Think of white florals with a ton of fresh jasmine in a bottle. This is it. I just can't help but love it so much. Overpriced? Yes, but extremely good, as well.

Gorgeous, gorgeous scent. I absolutely love it.

kadams99

Extremely similar to Gucci Bloom, but has what was missing. To me, Bloom is a very singular one-note floral. Nice, but not the best for someone who prefers a musk base. Do Son's opening is the same as Bloom, but then the settled scent hits the back of your throat and adds a slight warmth to he overall picture. Between the two, Do Son is the clear winner (though if you like one, you'll like the other).

astralmonad870

I've found the perfect perfume to wear to my church wedding. The sillage is small but the longevity is 3-4 hours on me. Orange flower is one of my fav white florals and it is beautiful and fresh in combination with tuberose here. I tried Gucci Bloom to compare but that has less depth and is bland/boring. I also considered Beyond Paradise by Estee Lauder but the latter is much more animalic/indolic with the lush jasmine. Had a 10 ml sample that I loved so much I bought a 100 ml bottle so I can cherish the memories afterward. I’m also noticing like another reviewer below that the full bottle brings out a sharper and greener tuberose while the sample is sweeter and more mellow.

maiiraa77

Bought a full size after loving a 20mL travel size. I just want to say that the mini I had was a bit sweeter and fresh but the full size brings out a sharper tuberose. I wonder why…

Traisk22

Very similar to Gucci Bloom but after drying down, there is something deeper and more alluring than Gucci.

cheleine

Currently swapping 48/50 ml of this for Eau Moheli!
Only Europe 🩵

Anabanana08

At first very pleasant and deep, but after about 40 minutes becomes unbearably bothersome for me - all the tuberose comes out and I just want to wash it off.

Tasherapd

I love this scent. I received a free travel size after purchasing a full bottle of eau rose. I had NO idea that this had tuberose. I can usually identify tuberose instantly as it’s a very cloying and overwhelming note for me. This was very well done. The scent is soothing, sophisticated, and sensual. I will be purchasing a full bottle when my travel size runs out.

Scouthome

This is for sure a classic and very typical Diptyque fragrance worthy of praise and glory for being a very classy and timeless interpretation of white flowers with a nod to the past for its both innocent and a bit skanky daring ness which imparts the dichotomy that embodies many of our most famous white flower fragrances. And have so for avery long time.
Having said that Do Son is still not my favourite kind of tuberose I’m afraid… Oh I soo wanted to like Do Son as it is such a typical Diptyque fragrance and I really like this house. My sentiments is however mostly connected to the fact that I am constantly on the hunt for a really perfect fresh and spicy Jasmine scent and sometimes tuberose and a Jasmine are not that far apart and where I am from Jasmine does have a bit more of the tuberose sweetness. (There are so many different forms of these flowers and they obviously smell differently depending on both what kinds and where in the world they grow. In my Scandinavian country jasmin bushes smell very clear and spicy and do not really sport any of the indoles or the skankyness that these flowers begin to show much earlier in their development in other more warm climates. So my idea of Jasmine is subsequently a more spicy and fresh white flower and that has proven itself to be very hard to find in a fragrance. Hence I try a lot of tuberose and jasmin heavy fragrances. As I will not give up…

Do Son is to me pretty much a little bit more of the skanky tuberose solo flower that feels very powdery and almost like I would imagine the yellowish pollen from a crushed outbloomed flower would smell like if you put your nose into it. I bet it’s the iris that adds to this feeling which is in my opinion not the best way iris can be used. But then again some of us love both the skanky indolic touch and the powdery ness of it so the opinion stands for me and comes from the place where I personally am always on the hunt for the glorious scent from the huge Jasmine bushes in my parents garden when I grew up. So that colours my experience.

I wish the benzoin and the musk was more prominent as that would make this less skanky and dry to me. But alas they sit safely in the backseat. I can understand if this induces headaches or nausea in some people. It does not in me though. But it is not an overall pleasant experience to wear either. And I do not love to wear this on a hot day where I expect to get warm and sweaty as that mix is not really my idea of intoxicating indulgences… Albeit it might very well be that exact thing that makes Do Son a hit for some people…

Compared to Eau des Sens from the same brand which to me is the epitome of cool, clean and soapy Do Son instead represents the warm and sweaty take on hot summer days… The two represents in that regard opposites to me. But both are fragrances built for hot summer days. Where Eau des Sens is cooling, clean and refreshing - Do Son emphasises the heat of summer and mixes itself with the sweat and the smell of the sun on your skin… thus making it quite intoxicating for some… but the opposite for those who do not enjoy the skanky side of white flowers.

I do enjoy the dry down of this more than its initial 30-60 minutes where the skankyness and the dry sour pollenesque feel is more pronounced. In the dry down there is something a bit more comforting that comes through. Like a warm hug from a very loving but a bit sweaty grandmother on a warm summer afternoon… I guess I find this fragrance a bit dated… But dated fragrances often reminds me of people I encountered when I was a child… So I guess another way to describe it would be to say classic…

I do not think the Gucci bloom scents are that similar to Do Son that they can be said to remind you of each other… as the Gucci ones are more vivaciously flowery and a bit less indolic to me. They are also less “pollen-powdery” if that makes sense?

For me this fragrance feels feminine, but having said that I don’t think that should stop anyone from any sex to use it. But from a traditional point of view this is very floral and feminine.

Do Son is a rather mild scent however which to me is a good thing here. As if this was a heavy projector it could easily knock people down. On me however it stays close to the skin with a small projection and hardly any sillage unless you give the person wearing it an hug, and will last on my skin about 3-6 hours before fading away. Again the dry down is far better than the initial experience. But sadly this is not a favourite of mine from this house… But I do wear it still from time to time when I sort of want a bit of a blast from the past I guess… ❣️

Just bought a brand new bottle in the latest limited edition and I couldn't be more pleased! I have the two blue bottles of both the EDT and EDP and found myself going for the EDT with a lot more frequency - I guess the orange blossom in it adds a lightness and effervescence that is not present in the EDP. The EDP is a lot richer and slightly bitter due to the petitgrain and the woody base notes. But the EDT has become the everyday signature scent that I cannot live without anymore. Although not my preferred notes, I find it interesting how the pink pepper adds spice and the iris brings a sort of coolness in the opening. What follows is the combination of jasmine, orange blossom, and tuberose, which are my favorite notes in perfumery, creating a beautiful and elegant bouquet. This is an ethereal scent that is reminiscent of a natural flower in full bloom. If you want to smell like an actual flower kissed by the sea breeze, this is the scent for you! :-) Although not disclosed as part of the notes, I have to say that I can smell the scent of lilies, perhaps due to the spiciness of the pepper combined with the white flowers. If I have to be honest, I wish it could last a little longer, but longevity is reasonable and I am very happy overall. . .

A beautiful, creamy, and perhaps a little plain/boring tuberose depending on how you look at it on any given day. Has the potential to be nauseating and headache-inducing; you probably have to be a white floral lover to enjoy this one, and if you're not, I doubt Do Son would win you over. Very linear -- just tuberose, tuberose, and more tuberose, which can get boring. Fortunately or unfortunately, even the EDP lasts about 4-6h on me, which means I have to deal with all my feelings about this scent as I wear it (enjoyment in the opening, boredom after 2h, and slight nausea after 4h, until it's soft enough I can spray something else). But somehow, I can't bear to part with this one. It fits the fantasy image I'd like for myself: elegant, kind, beautiful woman.

I blind bought this and the parfumed bracelet thinking I would love it. I received a small sample to test before opening and I’m glad I did.
I’m not sure if I’m not a fan of white florals (I do have some in my collection which I love) or is the tuberose just too much for me.
This perfume makes me nauseous, I’ve been wearing the bracelet and it’s even giving me a headache, I honestly can’t stand it.
It’s very rare for me to have this kind of reaction to perfume, but unfortunately Do Son is not for me.

As a lover of tuberose, Do Son - Diptyque's take on a white floral - has been on my list for a long time. It is a run-of-the-mill example of the genre, if nicely put-together - a bold, creamy tuberose-led white floral bouquet. The tuberose is lush, sweet and clean, enhanced by the other notes. This EDT is surprisingly different to the EDP - there is a slightly cloying orange blossom note here that is thankfully absent in the EDP. Misleadingly, I find the EDT to be heavier and more intense as a result, and prefer the simpler composition of the EDP where the tuberose really has a chance to shine.

Do Son is tuberose-dominant from initial spray. It is at its freshest at the opening stages, slightly green, becoming more intense as it develops. The aforementioned orange blossom note follows closely, adding cloying sweetness as it develops. It's not bad, but takes from the beauty of the tuberose.

It becomes more powdery as it develops, perhaps thanks to the listed iris note, but I get clean, powdery jasmine rather than discernable iris or rose.

The drydown is musky and slightly animalic, a predictable conclusion to a white floral scent. There is a hint of spice here that complements it nicely. The white florals remain until final fade, surrounded by soft musk. A hint of dry vanilla adds soft sweetness at the tail end. Sillage and longevity are moderate - it actually projects better than the EDP. It is a feminine springtime scent.

A reasonably decent white floral scent that is sweet but not tropical, Do Son will appeal to plenty, but is not the definitive tuberose for me (that remains Frédéric Malle Carnal Flower or Estée Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia). I prefer the cleaner, simpler, more-tuberose-less-orange-blossom EDP. 3/5.

denisa_iv

Typical white flower, I get a lot of tuberose and a bit of orange blossom. If you like this category of perfumes, there's not much to dislike here. Even if you don't typically go for, might consider giving it a chance. It's pleasant, less loud than other white flowers that can become too heavy. It's nice to layer it with something sweet and warm or a perfume that needs a touch of femininity. It does not last too long on its own, but I also find this typical for these type of perfumes.

JulianaMP

Can't get over the differences between the EDP and EDT; they're two different scents. The EDT is light and stays that way; the EDP dries down into something spicy and heavy that I did not like at all. The EDP is also ever so slightly cloying at the start, whereas the EDT stays at an appropriate level of sweet (for me - I can see it being too much for others). Oddly, I swear the EDT both projects more and has a larger sillage. The EDT seems to last longer, too.

leglesstoy

A rainy spring day is what Do Son EDT is about: it's tranquil and poetic; it's supremely floral but not dainty (contrary to Olene); it retains the boldness of tuberose but it's measured, steady, and not intrusive (unlike Carnal Flower).

Excellent longevity and projection for an EDT. I tried the EDP and didn't like it as much. For what makes Do Son singular is its meditative quality. To deepen it, I'm afraid, is to deprive it of its balmy nobility.

Nbebis

This is absolutely gorgeous! The tuberose is so realistic, slightly milky, and soft. It works so well with the orange flower and petitgrain. The overall scent is slightly sweet and very floral, but the bitterness from the petitgrain adds this stemy quality that makes it all the better. It is feminine leaning but I can also see a man wearing this in the Mediterranean during a hot summer night. While I also adore carnal flower, I would say this is a little more casual and carnal flower is much more elegant. Both are great and each have their own strengths! One of my favorite tuberose scents:)

millyb

Anyone have experience with Diptyque's solid Do Son perfume? I love the liquid scent but I've also been wanting to experiment with a solid formula.

apt23

I feel whenever I wear this, that I'm walking through a garden filled with freshly watered tuberose flowers. This fragrance feels hydrating and clean and very realistic. this is beautiful to smell on clothes and quite long lasting there as well on my skin I would say it performs not as well as compared to clothes. One thing that is odd is I get a quite prominent note of banana, or even something like a banana candy. All that aside, it Is a wonderfully realistic tuberose fragrance, if you want to smell like a bunch of flowers, this is it.

lihsinhsu

Beautiful white floral fragrance. For me it does exactly what it sets out to do. It's a feminine white floral perfume that is clean, straight forward and pleasing. If anything it's a little dull, but beautiful nevertheless.

Ms Stockholm

For me this is uplifting and calming at the same time, just like Eau Duelle edt is. When I first smelled this it reminded me a bit of Jo Malone Orange blossom, but Orange blossom was a bit harsh and cold on my skin, this is softer, more feminine and more joyful.
I disagree very much with people who thinks if you love white Lilies, you also love Tuberose. I can’t stand white Lilies but adore Tuberose. White Lilies gives me a headache. I can tell Do Son isn’t for everyone though. I love both edt and edp, bought this because there was a limited edition 30 ml bottle available. I like this more during daytime but edp has such a gorgeous soft drydown I want that too..

asiu

This perfume smells remarkably similar to Jo Malone's Orange Blossom. While it's a pleasant scent, I struggle to discern any notable distinctions between the two

RebelWithoutApplause

Wow. This has convinced me to stay far, far away from anything Tuberose.

If you aren’t sure you like Tuberose or what it smells like, let me help you out. If you love the smell of white Lilies, you like Tuberose. If you like strong white florals, with a bit of their crushed up stems, drenched in musky powder….you will love Tuberose.

For me, it’s a huge NO. I’ve tried wearing Do Son for an hour now and I’m feeling super nauseous. Total scrubber.

Phylira

This review is strictly for the EDT as I know the EDT and EDP can vary with Diptyque fragrances and I have yet to sample the EDP. I own a FB of the EDT. There is something very special about this. I understand the comparisons to Gucci Bloom; they are in the same family, however, Do Son is the sister who lives near the ocean and frequents it. This really does evoke imagery of a temple used for meditation, in a warm, tropical jungle near the ocean where it rains almost always, beating down rhythmically on a metal roof. The tuberose and jasmine here are green and wet, in their most natural state after a long afternoon shower. The sun comes up momentarily before it sets, heating the water, garden, and wet rocks into a natural, floral sauna, with the distant ocean air being swept in with a cool, evening sunset breeze. Unlike many heavier white florals, Do Son performs so beautifully in high heat. It actually performs well in all weather, but really shines in the Spring and Summer. This is my perfect rainy day scent; I spray it and am immediately transported to a place where the rain is meditative, peaceful, and natural.

AuthenticAF

I just got this and only field tested 1x, it isnt the right season really but it has been unseasonably warm. I really like this, i think i will love it in spring more. I do get tuberose, but i think the element i like best is the peppery, spicy accord. Some say cloves, some say pepper. I am not sure what it is, could be the green element also. I think that it balances the tuberose and jasmine. The green note to me was almost vegetal or grassy. For an edt it is very good performance and sometimes i prefer an edt when i just want something for a few hours and dont want to commit for an entire day.
I think this would be great for spring, for having lunch outside, going to a picnic, a daytime date, etc. it is aromatic i think and i like that a lot. I will update later after more wears.

smellbluebewwies

Got this as a present but unfortunately did not like it. Not a safe blind buy - migraine inducing, might be all the floral notes. Had it stick to my jacket once and I could not get away from it faster, the smell stuck to clothes and made me feel quite sickly. Not for those who veer away from headache-inducing floral scents!

lavandette

Where has tuberose been all my life? I've been surrounded by tuberose without ever knowing its name. Never the idea, always the signifier – someplace between banana-gentle sweetness and earthy indoles. It's the shadow that brings white florals to life. I want to be lost in this perfume - to be lost in it is to be lost in the world. Depending on your culture, it might remind you of weddings or funerals, the beginning or the end of love. But there is a history to the nightbloom. It was Omixochitl, the bone flower, cherished and cultivated by the Aztecs. By trade and by conquest it became tubéreuse, named for its swollen roots. Wherever it travels, it takes a new name. Whoever holds it, whoever grows it, seems to adore it. All this in a bottle that is supposed to introduce me to "a childhood in Indochina." These seem to be innocent and pure years for Yves Coueslant, spared from the full weight of imperialism. Somehow he found respite in tuberose. But tuberose surpasses the simple conclusions of nostalgia. Love and loss often come to us in the night. So do our memories - the things we wish to relive, and the things we wish we could forget.

gigijolie

My favorite scent used to be Gucci Bloom edp- which I still love but this is superior. It's a more interesting fragrance and lasts longer, sillage is better even though it's an edt. Even though Bloom has not been out that long, it is not the what it used to be. I bought a vintage bottle which is a better than what they are putting out now. Love Bloom but love this more.

rosewoodoud555

Diptyque Do Son + Lattafa Yara? Boom, man killer. Perfect combo for rainy days, cool, tropical weather, and date nights. Super classy fragrance with great sillage and projection. My first French niche frag and I absolutely adore it. It's slightly cloying because it can be a heavier floral frag, but I love softening it with Yara. Just the perfect feminine combo and compliment getter on dates

Edit: I can't wear it on its own. There's a barn-smelling undertone and a strong bitterness that I just despise. Thank god for Yara to brighten things up. I wear this mostly for casual stuff. The animalic notes on this is pretty gross to be honest. It smells worse than Narciso's musk line. I regret buying this tbh — smells better on clothing/strip than skin.

frangiris

Oof, heavy white floral. A bit like Tocca’s Florence. You don’t need both.

soso.sofia

I do think that, apart from the reaction with ourselves, how a fragrance performs also has a lot to do with the season and the air. I live in Australia in an area where the air is generally very dry, and now that it's summer, wow I'm really enjoying Do Son again. It really blooms and shows its beauty during summer here. Do Son is currently one of my favourite perfumes for summer, so I brought my bottle with me to France this summer, during the French summer that is, and I somehow didn't enjoy wearing it at all while I was in France. Somehow Do Son just did not shine there. I rarely enjoy it during winter either, it makes me feel "cold".

Anyway, so how does Do Son smell to me in my Australian summer? The tuberose is the star! Tuberose predominantly, with a few other flowers, with some green stems, in plenty of water. It is dewy, and the tuberose has a slightly rubbery sensation to it. I once gifted a friend with a bunch of flowers, including tuberose in the bouquet, and she put it in a vase in the middle of the dinner table during out dinner. The smell was truly beautiful, and reminded me of Do Son, only Do Son is perhaps slightly dewier.

I've read of many comparisons of Do Son with Gucci Bloom and FM Carnal Flower. I think the opening may be similar to Gucci Bloom with Bloom being a thinner scent, but soon afterwards Gucci Bloom morphs into something synthetic and disgusting on my skin. Do Son performs beautifully on my skin throughout its wear. As for similarities with Carnal Flower, I don't find them similar apart from the fact that they are both based on tuberose and white flowers. I find Carnal Flower more show-off-y, glamorous and wanting to impress, while Do Son is meant more as an enjoyment for yourself, which is something Diptyque usually manages to do outstandingly.

Xelibri

Tuberose, headache, more tuberose.

It was a blind buy for me and i could never wear it, it smells like old syle clothes detergent with some perfume in it. After this perfume, i avoid every tuberose containing perfume and if it has some, i have to test it 3-4 times.

kaiaoh

甜爆 暈爆 茉莉花
睡香 深沉味

whoaboy

If I press my nose right up to my skin I get a nice scent of tuberose. But anything farther back and the orange blossom takes over. And with the benzoin, it adds up to a very realistic men’s urinal cake scent. Definitely not the right scent for me.

panyadoll

I fell in love with this when I first smelled it. I am a massive tuberose fan. This is quite tuberose heavy, however a very different fragrance than Dyptique’s Tuberose candle. It is a sophisticated, pretty floral, and good for daily office wear. I will admit, though, after spraying this in my closet thinking it was very safe, I picked up the very slightest cat urine smell at times on my clothing. I still love it but perhaps not a safe blind buy.

kwisdommeister

Creamy white heavy floral to me. Cannot imagine this being wearable. It’s like i have a big bouquet attached to me or something idk very realistic flower scent. Nauseating. It’s a pass for me.

Shmea106

Immediate migraine. This is Tuberose on steroids that knocks you in the face. I am usually okay with Tuberose but this one is just too much. It does not give me niche fragrance vibes, more like a cheaper designer perfume.

Youkay

This is just tuberose, tuberose , and more tuberose. Not bad but certainly nothing groundbreaking. It’s something along the lines of gucci bloom but certainly long lasting. Definitely for white floral lovers. It’s a like for me.

farishawan

Smelled it in a Diptyque store and immediately bought it. I was impressed by how creamy but fresh this fragrance is. For weeks, I thought this was the best perfume ever created. Until that one visit to my parents' when my father said 'somebody pls close the bathroom door'. Boom.

T'was me. The indolic part of tuberose in Do Son. Few weeks of having it on my shelves, I was in denial that I could actually smell something poo-ey from the atomiser. It smells like a freshly-cleaned bathroom, but if you moved your nose closer to the toilet bowl, there is still that stink coming off. That unforeseen comment from dad was enough for me to desert Do Son for a while before I decided, meh who cares, damage done. To these days, I still wear it on days I want to feel elegant, put together and occasionally, I do get compliments.

Great longevity for an EDT. On me, it only turns into a skin scent well after the 8 hours mark. Lesson learned hard, never buy fragrance at the first sniff. Get a decant/sample and live with it. And, tread carefully with white florals.

jejakakera

Just got my sample. Sprayed it on my arm, and gave it an appreciative sniff. Smells cold, almost like a whiteboard marker.

Then I realized how this smells EXACTLY like my current signature scent, Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori!

There's some solar warmth in the latter, and it performs WAY better.

Sorry Do Son EDT, I choose Gucci Bloom Profumo di Fiori over you.

wondervalley666

Just blind bought a bottle since I'm a tuberose junkie and was able to score a secondhand bottle for a great price. Before spraying, I knew I loved the scent, just based on what the atomizer smelled like. My favorite tuberose is Lys 41 by Le Labo, and I'd say this is the closest tuberose to that scent I've encountered. It's somewhat similar (50%+/-) to Carnal Flower, only lacking CFs green notes and with an added sweet feminine touch that makes it "prettier" and less "hyper realistic freshly pruned flower bush." I would not say this is like Gucci Bloom at all. I resold my bottle of Bloom as I got no actual tuberose from it (the original bloom is pure lily honeysuckle to me, and I tried it several times before parting with it) and Bloom was too much of a generic whisper soft nothing scent for me. I only found actual tuberose in the Bloom Profumo di Fiori flanker, which is one of my fav scents, but is much closer to Fracas than the original Bloom IMO.

Do Son is a creamy, carnal, "summer suncreened skin-smelling" expensive tuberose floral scent. It's tuberose done in my favorite way. It's not sharp, shampooey or soapy like a lot of tuberose I encounter. It isn't buried under overpowering notes that clash with it's vibe like certain tube scents that contain patchouli, clove-like spices, or other stronger white florals. It makes my skin smell like a sunbaked steamy spring garden in full bloom. It's sunshine in a bottle. I wasn't impressed with other Diptyque recommendations I sampled, but this is a real winner. Eve though it closely resembles Lys 41 and partially resembles Carnal Flower, both of which I already own, I feel like this will be a staple in my collection for some time to come, and I welcome any scent that can give me the joy I feel from Lys 41 or Carnal Flower without the hefty price tag.

Also, thank you to reviewer below @Unruly Julie - I usually buy EDPs because of better performance, but this EDT seems to perform well and be better priced, so I'll stick with it!

ms.ameerah

This perfume does not smell niche, maybe because it is an EDT.
Basic white floral. I prefer Gucci bloom over this. It smells better, and it is longer lasting.

Adeenafzal10

Beautiful, elegant and refined scent. Love the powdery settle down and the pretty sparkly white floral opening. For an EDT it’s extremely long lasting. Love it.

rfvdizon

This was a blind buy to me and no matter how I give it a try multiple times, it just isn't for me.

It smells like a cheap fast food's comfort room. Gave me terrible nose itches for some reason.

I have to keep reminding myself not to do anymore blind buys because 80% of the time, it's just always a fail for me.

Unruly Julie

I have to say, to my surprise, that I prefer Do Son EDT to the EDP. On my skin it is stronger, more interesting and longer lasting. I can hardly smell the EDP, even with multiple sprays. It's OK though, because I find that the EDT has more depth and is significantly less expensive.

safira.naila

On the first spray, this perfume is a perfect mix of fresh and creamy at the same time (?)
Tuberose and jasmine all the way, with a hint of orange/citrus maybe from the orange blossom
The only tuberose perfume that for me not too hazy and make me dizzy

But careful when using this perfume in a hot weather, cause it got too powdery

Cynthia30

Creamy white floral, I'm getting some coconut water notes...sweet, like a magnolia...or sweet, like hibiscus. [Btw real hibiscus doesn't smell like much - It's a delicate, sweet smell.] Some clear booze..elderflower cocktail maybe. Good soliflore. Flower with not much leaves or wood. It's pretty though. Yawn.
Prominent Jasmine drydown with typical greenish tinge.

CR95

Tuberose bomb. Fresh. Clean. Doesn't last very long. Projects a lot for the first hour.

arbieonly

Reminiscent of a walk in a garden of exotic white flowers and fresh leaves after the rain, Dyptique Do Son is a mild and floral fragrance nothing short of what a simple pure beauty would be like.

andrea806

I love how light this is. it's jasmine is overpowering some of its notes. But the problem with EDT, it doesn't last for at least 5 hours, I noticed to only last for couple of hours or less and it just disappears completely. Too expensive that doesn't last. I suggest to go with EDP.

kyraberries

On the first spray, you get an in-your-face, strong frangipani smell. Quite surprised the flower isn't listed in the notes. It mellows down into this beautiful tuberose that is mature and serious. This is a black-tie, formal-events, dressy perfume. Wouldn't wear this wearing a shirt and sneakers.

Naqwalan

A superbly clean and smooth tuberose scent that I've been in love with since first smell. The tuberose in this smells greener and fresher than the bubblegummy tuberose in L'Interdit (which I also happen to love). I wear L'Interdit when I'm in a playful mood and save Do Son for occasions when I want to feel more classic.

Do Son is a timeless floral scent without unnecessary frills. If you love tuberose as much as I do, there's a good chance you'll love this.

SamboMambo

Usually, I can’t stand tuberose. Do Son is different. I never thought I would say this about a tuberose fragrance, but this is beautiful and elegant.

Cherry_Darling

Starts powdery and iris then a really strong, bubblegum, indolic sweet tuberose, I find this very spicy i was getting cloves but i think it's just the peppercorn. Has a mild old school vibe but also modern on the drydown with all the resins. A strong tuberose is not my note, but still very enjoyable! I do prefer gucci bloom to this it's much more fresh and green. This can be a bit cloying.

** 200+ samples up for swap UK - check my customs, get in touch **

nonelle

This is light, fresh tuberose and although there is some pink pepper it's not spicy. It reminds me of L'interdit, but it's fresher and cleaner than l'interdit.

Fragaddict123

Tuberose
Tuberose
And only tuberose
It’s good fragrance and actually strong enough to last almost a full day
I enjoyed it it’s smooth and calming
But it’s something I smelled a lot before
Almost generic
Good one but there are a lot of better options

Conniethehbk

Tuberose is a note I struggle tremendously with. It’s usually too heady and punchy, or too bubble gummy and sweet. I was persistent in my pursuit of a tuberose based scent, however, and have found it! There are lots of notes for this being similar to Gucci bloom and I have to disagree emphatically. I have tried to force myself to love gucci bloom (the bottle is so cute) but those first few hours of that scent are intolerable for me, extremely heady, extremely potent, extremely headache inducing, it actually hurt my sinuses to sniff it. This is the opposite of Gucci bloom. Somehow, here, the orange flower, Iris, rose, pink pepper, benzoin, and musk combine powers to turn Do Son’s tuberose into the creamy, feminine, sweet floral scent of my dreams. Maybe not dreams, but she’s VERY good! This is the most well blended creamy tuberose I’ve come across thus far. A really classy, creamy floral. It’s giving very elegant, shy, sweet, sophisticated, pretty girl vibes for sure. This is pearls, Volvos, and hair in low buns and I love it!

Darcy_x

I tested this twice, with Olene (which was like a younger lighter version)
And then with Gucci Bloom. I actually prefers Gucci's bloom to this, which is sad because this is the one I most want to get from Diptyque. Do Son ofcourse has a more realistic flower smells which you can tell is from the higher quality but I like the more depth that Gucci Bloom has. Being from Thailand, I am less attracted to realistic flowers (which you smells everywhere in room diffuser etc). Gucci Bloom has that depth, slightly more perfumey smell but not in a bad way at all. It smells more like a concoction than straight flower extracts

blondie353_4

This is my first full bottle of a white floral perfume. Do Son manages to be hyper feminine without being too prissy. It is a very watery white flower with tuberose being the dominant note after the initial cool down. I struggle to find spring/summer scents because I am more attracted to the fall/winter smell profile. I am very pleased with this though and have been receiving compliments on how lovely I smell.

As others mentioned, the smell is very natural and less artificial. I wore it today on a rainy summer day and feel so glamorous and femme. It smells like Monet's water lily paintings look: cool, calm, harmonious, etc. I'd recommend it, even as a safe blind buy.

jbsherry

Unexpected love for me. After a bad experience with a tuberose-dominant scent (a Tokyo Milk EDP, cannot recall the name) I was hesitant to give the quintessential white flower another go. I'm glad that I did.

Delicate and realistic tuberose, green and fresh. It reminds me of a bouquet of flowers, verdant and lush. I find it somewhat indolic, but not overwhelmingly so, which gives it a pleasant sweetness.

Not headache-inducing. Charming, playful, and feminine. It's working great in NYC summer heat and I think it's best suited for spring/summer wear.

Longevity and projection are strong for an EDT (~6 hours) and it lasts even longer on clothes.

nmua

Lovely, pure and linear white floral with a warm and creamy vanilla musk underlining it all. A small tart scent (not very green but quite fresh) to keep everything light so it doesn't become *too* heady. Upon first spray it envelopes you, but wanes within several hours becoming something softer and more of a skin scent. This was my first blind buy and I find it very successful!

bergamotted

A very linear white floral that works in all occasions. I don't find this too heavy or indolic. It has a beautiful, watery sweetness that makes me feel like I'm floating in a pond, or like a content little frog chilling on a lily pad.

Aisabelle

Oh, what a gorgeous fragrance for white floral lovers.

The opening is quite zingy and narcotic, full of the heady wooziness of orange flower.

Unexpectedly, the top and mid notes quickly evaporate, leaving a buttery soft benzoic and musk accord.

It seemed to bypass the mid notes entirely.

Altogether, a very pretty and inviting fragrance just don't expect the floral notes to last long (or it could be my chemistry).

bbkay

Peak springtime. It’s lush, it’s verdant, it’s fresh. It reminds me of Easter egg hunting in my godmother’s garden.

It’s very feminine to me. Sometimes maybe a little bit too much so, but either way it’s beautiful. It’s a classic, sophisticated floral. I can understand why others may not like it & I could see how it gives an old lady aura. Still, it’s very pretty & I will be wearing it the rest of the spring/summer!

PerfumedParrot

High-pitched tuberose with a green and sour/tart floral. I couldn’t tolerate this all day as it will give me a headache. Good bridal fragrance.

aaanamarialatis

This is so fresh and fun, a bit spicy, a perfect spring and summer scent, I love it! It was a blind buy of the new blue bottle version, I thought 30ml of this could be enough to be able to test it without breaking the bank, but I'm pretty sure I will be buying a full sized one soon enough. After reading a lot of reviews I was expecting it to be boring and very mass appealing, but man was I wrong.

Chelsey325

I loved this on the test strip! But on my skin the orange blossom is very heavy and gives off an old lady vibe. So disappointed. Definitely try on skin before buying, because I actually kind of hated it once I wore it. On paper though, it was lovely 🤷🏼♀️

emerson10

It's giving Michael Kors x Child x bathroom potpourri

very happy and bright and also TOO much for me.

violeteme

Sheer, natural, high-pitched tuberose. I compared it side by side with Gucci Bloom, they are very similar. Do Son, despite being so transparent, has more projection and I felt more orange flower. It's like an innocent smell of beautiful young women. It is not complex or groundbreaking, but great and timeless beauty sometimes is this way and there is no reason to overcomplicate it. +

Lstarr3!

I remember going to Walgreens in the 90s and smelling a very similar fragrance called SAND AND SABLE by Coty. Do Son is the EXACT same scent. Check out the notes and compare! $20 verses $200 wow! I kept telling myself I’ve smelled this before. Here’s your dupe guys.

Swashbuckler9x

Incredibly photo-realistic white floral. Somebody said 'fresh cut flowers'.
I love my Nana dearly, and this is her signature scent.

It's a pretty fragrance. It would've been pretty in 1922, and it'll be pretty in 2122.

BotticelliBlonde

I tested this on my skin last night and was treated to an instant explosion of tuberose. As the fragrance expanded I grew nervous as it was expanding toward a brink of sourness I knew I didn't want. It seemed to bulge briefly over that brink before shrinking back and settling right on top of the extreme edge of magic. The tuberose is very much front and center for me, exquisitely so. I can smell the rose, and it seems to be very nearly turned white by the creamy excess that is tuberose. I agree that the other notes play a supporting role for the tuberose and picture an enormous raceme of tuberose in a large glass vase with the base notes fixing the stalk to the bottom of the vase and the other florals as surrounding the tuberose to keep it straight and tall. The smell of this creates a taste in my mouth of flower-infused coconut milk. Even my dog licked my arms to taste this.

When I woke up this morning, I could detect a faint skin scent, so I put on some Perfect Veil by Sarah Horowitz to see if it would revive the Do Son. It helped but I added more Do Son because life is short and something really interesting happened: the bright lemon note of PV became distinct and put a cap on the tuberose, taming it into a more manageable daytime scent that would be office friendly. I took my dog to the park because today was sunny and warm and I could smell myself in the wind and I felt like a goddess of spring. I was happy to know that I was sharing this beauty with others.

On its own, Do Son is both a public and timeless spring scent and shockingly intimate. It reminds you what flowers are for and I can see myself applying it with my lingerie to prepare for intimacy. It's a scent-as-experience so profound that it should be shared between lovers behind locked doors as well as enjoyed alone without distractions. It is also nice to know that it can be tamed by layering and carried into strange company so that I can wear it more often.

I'm pretty sure I'm done searching for the perfect tuberose.

paranoka

Cute fresh tuberose fragrance. I used to think that I didn't like florals, but I think my enjoyment of this fragrance made me realize that I specifically like green florals. Very fresh-cut flowers scent.

lihsinhsu

Beautiful tuberose. I find that tuberose frags are often too heavy and oily. This one's just right.

Atomikbomb_

I've wanted to try this for a while, because I really enjoy tuberose. I'm glad it's basically exactly what I hoped and expected!

This is essentially a soliflore with a few supporting nuances, but the additions are in keeping with the nature of tuberose anyway. It's almost as if the slight rose, musk and pepper (I really don't get iris or orange flower) are just here to highlight and bring out those existing qualities of the tuberose. But if someone were to smell this on you, all that could really be detected is tuberose.

Projection is polite, but noticeable, and it lasts well for a good chunk of time, and stays even beyond 4 or 5 hours, though it's a skin scent by that time.

It's a display of quality and restraint, and smells very much like it was constructed that way to remain simple and allow tuberose to shine fully. It's naturalistic, buttery and green. I can't wait to wear this on a rainy day in April or May 😊

eva.daisy.88

It’s a very bright floral, which reminds me on the jasmine plant in bloom. Very precisely on the bush that grew in my grandmother’s garden. Happy childhood memories.
Apart from that, it disappears from my skin after 2 hours, and it’s not very strong scent.

petitebourgeoisie

A well structured white floral-ly tuberose. I'm not keen on these particular notes so it's not for me but I can see why many would love it.

Hike4Scent

Layered Do Son with Oyedo and this made it softer and greener, not just the tuberose but the fresh cut stems as well. Reminds me of a rose lemonade. I work in physical therapy and I like to wear a faint but uplifting scent.

Olfa

The first initial thoughts after putting this on;
Tuberose, a little jasminey and spicy from the pink pepper I guess. Reminiscent of the jasmine of Burberry London but not indolic or overpowering. That’s why I prefer tuberose.
I can say this is a spicier version of a tuberose scent and it smells like cloves.

I guess the dry down is the creamy tuberose bc now I can have a hint of it becoming that way.

TabledThoughts

Loud and proud tuberose with hint of sweetness beneath.
Bit of rose in there.
Quality.

thestranger

For me, this smells too lotion-y. It's hard to dislike, hard to love

skiergirl24

I love this tuberose. I find it a bit lighter and softer than most of the other tuberose perfumes on the market. Bright and soft. Clean. Classic. Love it. I like to layer with cardomom scents (TF Soleil Blanc or Rebecca Minkoff) for something unique and stunning.

stardenise16

Do Son is a lovely fragrance from Diptyque. After smelling Philosykos (which smells horrible in my opinion), I wanted to find a fragrance that I would enjoy from this house and I found it in Do Son. Love the tuberose in the formula.

Geoviness

Classy, very feminine, soft and, a little powdery. The problem is, It almost disappeared after 2 hours. Delicious smell but not worth the almost $200 I paid for the EDP.

lairdumoi1892

After purchasing a 20ml EDT version as a part of set about a year ago,I finally revisited this scent today. The first time sampled this smelt like a hearty headache, Gucci Bloom-y sweet disaster. However, upon giving it a second chance (after a long mutual disliking), Do Son opened like a starry night somewhere tropical, when the wind blows the serene smell of blooming trees from the darkness of a rainforest. While this is a sweet white floral, I do not find it particularly cloying, rather very comforting and soft. The projections is quite strong for an EDT so do be careful with the amount of sprays of this summer wine. A lovely scent for the warmer months or a tropical getaway. In agreement with the other users, to me it is a type of scent I would want to smell on myself, however in private rather than in public.

lorenzarabia

Farbice!! Just wow!!

tahnif

This smells acquatic or ozonic to me. Not sure which note would lend to that, but it's overwhelming. Perhaps the iris?

The Wolf

I blind sprayed this today without having ever seen the notes.
Smells like a super potent, vintage tuberose drenched in raunchy animalics.

I like the notes but not the blend.
Also not unisex IMO, very feminine.

I like the house but not this one.
Pass for me

dianaelz.1

well said by msFCAS below. must have for those into white florals. Imagine carnal flower by FM less creamy more Green. the iris make it a bit bitter. the dry down due to the benzoin is soft and sweet longevity for EDT is enormous.
Dont buy this if you are into sweet tubereuse this is a Green fresh bouquet of white florals and iris.

MsFCAS

This has a sharp almost bug spray strong opening on me but it dries down into a lovely, long-lasting tuberose. It’s not an everyday fragrance for me, but this is a must-own for lovers of white florals.

librabeing

Ah, this is beautiful. I've kept the sample for a long time and tried it here and there because I couldn't come to a conclusion. But today I did! I absolutely love the smell. It's immediately recognizable, yet mysterious. It verges on headache territory, but doesn't go over the edge for me. With that said, this is one of those classic I-like-this-smell-but-I-don't-want-to-smell-LIKE-this situations. So pretty, but I can't picture wanting my body to smell like it. :)

MannyOyson

[RETROSPECT]
I reviewed this years ago, yet I still can't stop thinking about the pretty, just midly-buttery lightness of Do Son. (My original reason for reviewing was the beautiful smell of my Do Son bath oil, but if not included last time, it was also because I was looking for a realistic "zen" tea scent which was: Hermessence's Yunnan Osmanthus and one I forgot.. but it was definitely by The House Of Oud!)

I do, in fact, regret having given this one away because even if other fragrances may seem more nuanced or hyperreal and I may have given this one to replace it with Olene (which-- surprise-- I did not!) its a common phantom scent of mine and while Do Son might be too bright for certain occasions, this is a great fragrance for a nice burst of comfy spring sunshine. I'd love this and als my new favourite of Diptyque: Eau Duelle (delicious creamy vanilla, and IMO beats Lutens' Un Bois Vanille and L'Artisan's Coleur Vanille in creaminess) and pair it together to make a delicious springtime vanilla-lemon rind cake!

I think Diptyque should try more creamy / gourmand and sweet scents, they are surprisingly good at it. It's not easy finding something so smooth and not grainy to the nose, and still deliciously pleasant at this retail price, esp. at a 30ml for $99AUD only! Luckily, with the popularity of both these fragrances and the house of Diptyque itself don't worry about both of them going away anytime soon (at worst case, a reformulation that misses the mark of what makes these appealing.)

istvan.buda.779

Smells like Coconut or fig with an added flashy Jasmine, it has that typical rotten meat jasmine smell that I usually get from Jasmin extrait. But take my review with a grain of salt, everyone has a different nose . jasmine is my kryptonite in perfumes

makitakeshita

Pretty cute white floral scent. It reminds me Tuberose Angelica of Jo Malone London.

ironlithium

This gave me a headache almost instantly. Smells far too similar to those scented (sharp almost citrusy) hand sanitisers, usually for children. Shame because I was looking forward to this one. Projection was really good (unfortunately for me as it made me feel quite ill). Definitely going to give my sample away

Murmur123123

A must-have for those who love white florals - opulent and rich, still retaining some freshness and translucency, without feeling sweet (like those bubble-gummy tuberoses on the market) or cloying. Not for those who do not like white florals (because it is pretty much a 100% pure white floral through and through), but a staple in my collection. Love it.

RainbowGirl

This smells like a green and creamy tuberose. Not a sweet bubblegum tuberose, but fresh and white floral. I was very surprised to not see any green notes listed. A beautiful scent. Reminds me a little of Gucci Bloom Profumo Di Fiori (the yellow bottle.) I prefer this over the Gucci. It's a little stronger, and more fresh.

Projection is good, but lasting is not great. The first time I wore this, I couldn't smell it on my skin after an hour or two, but I think projection and lasting can be subjective. The longer I become obsessed with fragrances, the stronger I desire them to be.

This fragrance smells amazing, and I don't mind reapplying. It is a beautiful summer morning in a bottle.

If this is what Carnel Flower smells like, I really need to try that one...

Disclaimer: I am a tuberose fan, and a picky one at that.
My very first tuberose was Santa Maria Novella's Tuberosa, followed by Fracas and despite liking it quite a lot since 2013, I think I quite grew out of it too.
This spring I sampled and disliked mr Armani's interpretation of tuberose in My Way, far too bubble-gummy and bimbo oriented.
Then I had the chance to sample Carnal Flower and Do Son and I think they're strikingly similar. I actually think CF is a tad greener and fresher, at least in the opening, but it's more intoxicating and sexual than the playful, strong but compelling Diptyque take on tuberose.
Overall I would recommend it, even in the sweltering heat... Longevity is good, but Fracas has better sillage of all the tuberoses I wore up to now.

Anapaul

This is a review of the oil perfumery version of this perfume. This smells so amazing and the longevity is so good. I apply it on top of a layer of Vaseline and that really makes any oil perfume perform like a beast. This does smell like Gucci bloom a little bit but it is much better than Gucci bloom. As much as I love Gucci bloom it can smell a bit old and not complex but this is just such a beautiful, Intricate, and mysterious. I'm not very good at describing perfumes but I am very impressed with this one. I do love rose perfumes very much and this one has my heart. If you can afford the original Diptyque go for the oil perfume are you version of this perfume. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

hannahyangster

Tuberose is one of my favourite notes and while I agree with @aaronmilic below that Carnal Flower is probably THE tuberose fragrance to have, for me, I find that it can be too ''loud'' for everyday wear. Do Son is the tuberose frag for everyday wear and won't induce headaches in those around you - it's ''safe'' as its projection is not Beast mode, like CF can be, and still satisfies that tuberose need for tuberose lovers. It's creamy, with hints of jasmine and woody notes peaking through in the drydown.

aaronmilic

Tuberose is tuberose. As mentioned in my review of Carnal Flower, Tuberose is so distinct and not very versatile, you only need one in your collection. For me, that is Carnal Flower, which I do like more than this. Otherwise, as Tuberose's go, this is still good. Significant difference between this and Carnal Flower though is longevity. This is already fading after an hour whereas Carnal Flower lasts all day.

violacolors

Smells too aged. Headache inducing. I agree with the previous review, similar to acetone smell.

amatuerfraghead

Nice and creamy white flowers fragrance. Naturally smelling tuberose with a hint of jasmine. I am a man and can comfortably wear this. However, it could also portray an elderly women so make sure to sample this before you buy. Never smell the edp counterpart so can't comment on that, but the performance and longevity is good for an edt - definitely worth the price tag.

UrDreamGurl73

Very pretty floral with that hint of animalistic, is beautiful. The dry down does remind me of Gucci Bloom but it's a little different. Initially, I smelled moth balls but it faded away and left me with a very feminine tuberose that is noticeable. Leaves a great scent trail but is also a skin scent (hard to describe). I really like this fragrance.

Pacifica_

There is some really unpleasant note in this that ruins it all. Smells like acetone almost. Hits the back of my throat like a menthol cigarette. Super green and pretty realistic floral scent, but extremely grandmotherly. I am going to wash this off now.

jaclyncxh

Coming from South-east Asia, this is incredibly familiar. It's the smell of offerings of Jasmine and Tuberose placed in water, incredibly realistic. Starts off with Jasmine and mellows to a tuberose, overall linear scent, there's some depth at the end maybe a very heady floral musk and green earthiness akin to crushed flowers or flower sap. It performs so well, almost too well a few sprays at 9am lasts till the end of the day at 7-8pm. It's a little overpowering for me, gives me a headache and makes me slightly nauseous to a point I'm slightly afraid to wear it again, so probably a no for me. Great silage, makes me stand out in such an overtly feminine way which I guess may suit some.

Overall for someone who doesn't particularly like white florals or tuberose, it's pretty darn impressive. I still really recommend it to tuberose or white floral lovers.

Unfortunately also makes me think of a particular folktale about a female ghosts with these trees commonly blooming in graveyards - beautiful but not the best sort of mental association.

Much better compared to bloom. Bloom smells a bit of chemicals.

bathcatz

Can smell screechy jasmine at first then the tuberose appears. Very white floral but more on the unisex side. Not really a fan of this scent but like to layer it onto other fragrances for added dimension.

sejohnson77

I’m currently testing this side by side with Carnal Flower and find them to be very similar. Do Son has a better price tag and funnily enough.. is lasting longer on my skin.

botany28

The only tuberose fragrance I can really tolerate, let alone like. It's delicate, natural, and soft. Very pretty. I still wouldn't purchase, but laud Diptyque for being a house so capable of capturing authentic, organic smells, so skilled in creating harmonious scents even with notes I typically feel aversion towards.

Flowermagic

This is just a no no on me! I’ve got headache and it doesn’t work on my skin! I don't know what is that makes me just feel nauseous!

Girlie

Very heady jasmin on me. I like it for the moment but not 100% sure

melodylim

Just a so-so to me.
Suitable for middle-age women in my POI.
Could be too overwhelming for younger people.

stephunny

A blind buy (because I read so many good reviews about Do Son on this page!) that I don't love nor hate.

For me, it's a straight-up Jasmine/Tuberose scent that is quite linear.
Smells like jasmine tea to me.
Too white floral & even green for me.
Hoping that layering it with other fragrances will make me like it better.

That being said, I must say it's still a really well-made piece by Diptyque.
Just not for me.

For some reason, it reminds me of India Hicks Island Living (Spider Lily) by Crabtree & Evelyn which I owned many years ago. They don't smell similar but there's something in the drydown that reminds me of it...

aldinatic

Wonder if this really smells like Vietnam as a couple of sites say, let me know if anyone agrees. To me Vietnam was more herbal smelling than flowery, but I will try this out for sure.I am realy curious.

hsiangchi.huang

Key Notes: Jasmine, Tuberose
Season: spring/summer
Age: 18-28
Aroma: clean, white floral, innocent, sweet
Longevity: good, but even better sillage
Score: 10/10

Probably THE BEST white floral perfumes I've ever encountered. It's just incredibly beautiful, and I imagine someone pure, innocent, kind and sweet would wear it. Every time I spray it, it just relaxes me and makes me feel happy. This one from the entire Diptyque house ALWAYS sold out every time I go. No surprise, it's such a versatile, wearable and feminine scent.

Compares to Gucci Bloom (another well-known white floral), this one is softer, smoother, creamier and a tad sweeter. Gucci Bloom has a weird almost bitter scent to it... but this one is just so well-done and flawless.

PlanetGrl

This is a scent that still stuns me with its simplistic beauty. Tuberose isn’t something I was familiar with until I tried this, and it blew me away. Apparently it agrees with me, it garners lots of compliments anytime I wear it.

Thaolee

To my nose, this is straight tuberose, jasmine and musk, but it's nicely blended, not really unique as i expected. I am not really a fan of white floral, so sometimes it gives me headache. Quite long lasting arnd 7 hours on my clothes. Prefer to try other Diptyque.

Syu

I like do son edt, but it doesn’t long last on my skin, maybe 2-3 hours.
It smells fresh, floral, and calm. Tuberose note is dominating than the others. Tuberose note is nice and very feminine.

Margielouise

Now I know what the term screechy means in perfume. It’s a step above Gucci Bloom but not by miles. For a smoother tuberose try Armani Prive Rouge Malachite.

GinCatsBooks

I thought that most Tuberose scents were the same, or at least, very similar to each other and that is true of some, Do Son however is totally different from most others I have owned or smelt.

As always, Diptyque always have the most amazing artwork on their bottles, Do Son's label is no exception to this, it looks amazing, as for the juice, Do Son is fresh, crisp and bright. The tuberose in this smells natural, green, stemmy but very lactonic, the pink pepper adds some sharpness and prevents the tuberose becoming too rich and cloying, orange flower and iris give some added depth and gentle powder and the benzoin warms the composition through, but there is something slightly aquatic lingering in this, Diptyque's website states it has a marine accord, this could very well be what I can smell.

Do Son is a perfect scent to wear year round, its warm but not heavy or cloyingly so, I agree with what others have said about this being a beachy scent but I wouldnt say that its a sunscreen-y type tuberose though, its more like a humid tropical garden. Silage is moderate and I actually get quite good longevity with this; 7 hours.
Easy to wear casually or dressed up, its another wardrobe staple for me from Diptyque!

LandNoise

It was a sample of the Do Son shower oil that turned me on to this sea-side tuberose fragrance. I'm man enough to wear this.

ladylynton

Do Son is tuberose in all its glory. Its a blockbuster, the best tuberose since the Reformulation era, even better than my beloved Carnal Flower, and I never thought to say that!
I can hang up my boots, my tuberose Quest is over, Do Son is my Holy Grail.

Seducianne

Ohhh, you beautiful Do Son!
This is indeed tuberose in its purest form, before it gets too heady or camphorous. I would say it's one step higher than the most wearable tuberoses out there, so it might be a good idea to get acquainted with lighter blends / interpretations, but once one has identified and embraced their love for tuberose, this will definitely be a good and safe go-to. This is a beautiful, feminine tuberose, perfectly neutral between hot and cold (it's not camphorous and gas-like like for example the opening of Bubblegum Chic is, but it's neither tropical nor banana vibed like the classic Michael Kors one - actually, if anything, I could maybe compare it to the Gucci Bloom one, but this one manifests more sweetness and less greenness on my skin).
I would say this is a good choice for a spring-summer day, as long as temperatures are not too high. It's very carefree and playful, but at the same time, not shallow at all.

furryfleaae

EDIT: I just realize that I actually have the EDP version
........................................................................................
White flower fragrance often trigger me a migraine headache but I’m so IN LOVE with this bottle. This is the most realistic and natural tuberose that I know. It doesn’t smell like other white flower perfumes which tend to be overpowering.

The main note is surely tuberose and I also notice jasmine in it. The other notes can be noticed only when you pay close attention.

Tuberose are not to be planted at home in my country for they are used in funerals. So this scent always connect me to a peaceful silence with emerging sounds of meditation bells of buddhist temples. It always makes me feel calm, comfortable and concentrated.

animahad85

I blind bought this one. Its a safe blind buy without smelling it. It smells bright floral with jasmine notes but I cant smell pink pepper though. I would love it, if there's stronger smell of pink pepper. The smell is quiet straight forward and smell all floral without different layers of fragrance.

Will be suitable for summer, beach day out and bright sunny kind of day. It's also much suitable for younger women with bright, fun and outgoing kind of personality.

huet82

A heady blast of jasmine is mostly all I'm smelling, very floral and quite fresh. Sillage is around moderate and fades after a few hours to sit closer to the skin. I'm trying out the EDT, and after reading some of the reviews on here, I didn't expect it to last so long, but it lasted around 6-7 hours on me. Similar to another user's review, I can't shake off the association with air freshener type vibes. Other than that, as a college student, the scent feels more mature to me, and while not unpleasant, it's not something I'd usually go for. In the end, it's boring, but a safe play, and I might eventually end up buying a bottle.

Fluffsicles

Not a fan. This has a musky, berry, fresh smell (which sounds great) but at the same time has a real old lady feel to it. I'm 35 and this smells like something a parent or grandparent would wear.

Rick1789

I intend to provide my own personal interpretation as I do not consider myself to easily understand or recognise the composition of a perfume. I am not an expert.

A Diptyque favorite of mine as I enjoy the tuberose and jasmine notes. I find it lasts on the skin for a couple of hours and I choose to wear it during the evening.

In my mind I'm on the film set of 'South Pacific' where the sky keeps changing color and I'm enjoying the intoxicating exotic scent of foreign flowers......... well that's my imagination anyway........

MannyOyson

Diptyque Do Son is a hyperrealistic tuberose fragrance that smells juicy sharp and florist fridge-like. To the nose it is the equivalent of beautiful jasmine tea, and it includes in its character the smell of the sap of jasmine leaves— never sugar sweet, more grapefuit, more akin to breathing the air of a summer garden. Although sustained all throughout, its daintiness and quality makes it quite balletic. (I sold it after I got La Chasse Aux Papillons, which is stronger in scent and more faithful and MORE balletic a tuberose interpretation.) Do Son is so light in scent it smells more jasmine than tuberose. Although if you want good jasmine or tuberose with a similar daintiness to Do Son I recommend Floris’ Bouquet de La Reine which is about the same price for a 100ml here.

ALSO: Diptyque's Olene, which I now prefer more. Also consider Prive by Ormonde Jayne. But my favourite hyperreal floral perfume of all time, which I now highly recommend (instead of Do Son or Papillons) is DSH's Divine Gardens. Superb!

lydia_2886

Diptyque doson = mfk le beau totally the same

moonlightbaby

I love this!!! I’m not usually a fan of florals but I do love my white florals from time to time. This makes me feel so elegant and feminine it’s so soft and it smells heavenly. The tuberose is so evident and it’s just wonderful. I am in love with diptyque

Thai_Florist

I hate it for the first time, I wear a lot of perfume like this, a scent like Gardenia, Tuberose, Jasmine etc. but when I try this one on my neck for a long time I feel like I discover a new kind of tuberose that no one can do like Do Son (EDT only). I love to smell a fresh tuberose in Thailand so much because the scent is very very charming, in Do Son I feels like I smelling a fresh Gardenia not a Neroli or Jasmine, it made me fear a lot because every scent that the first open with Gardenia when the middle comes it will be a very very cheap smell but not in Do Son! I smell a very creamy and sweet scent at the middle note and it make me feels like I am an innocence young child with a beautiful eyes running in the garden of white flower in somewhere! This become my most favorite fragrance right now and I cannot stop to wearing this everyday! Don’t believe the first opening scent until you decide to wearing it for a long day! You will discover a fantastic scent like me!

Cajou

Definitely not my favorite tuberose, but very wearable, soft, comforting. All perfumes are unissex, I know, but if you're a male and you're shy to wear tuberose, this might be the one for you. Soft sillage, good longevity. The musk ruins it for me, but all the fault is on my skin. I really admire Diptyque.

humaira_

a perfect white floral and tuberose with a little hint of rose! If you like floral fragrance, you should try this!

Anteatereatingant

I find this, Fracas, and Madonna's Truth or Dare very similar - to the point where there wouldn't be any point in owning more than one of them (I already have ToD so I'm not interested in this one).

All three are thick, heady tuberose perfumes.

This one is the best out of the three, although the difference isn't big enough to justify the price difference to me - Truth or Dare is already mostly there and only a fraction of the price. Either way, it's the most 'rounded' one and the least likely one to be nauseating (tuberose can do that).

Truth or Dare would be a close second, but it's 'flatter' as a fragrance, even though the longevity and silage actually outdo DS's. You wouldn't necessarily think anything's 'missing' from it...until you smell Do Son - and then you can't un-smell it.

Fracas is the worst of the three, I think, as it just can't justify its price tag - I don't find it any better than Truth or Dare. The only thing it has over the other two is its longevity.

MrEleven1181

This ones a fresh floral fragrance and its for woman. Got this in my 2019 diptyque advent calendar. Didn’t really like this one, the hints of tuberous and jasmine are nice but fresh floral fragrances just aren’t my thing really.
Performance around 4 hours even for a edt I expected better. Sillage is moderate for the first hour then goes to soft.

6opar

This is some pretty jasmine fragrance. And yet, I was hoping for a tuberose scent. For a few moments while breathing it in I did detect the creamy and carnal essence of tuberose that I love smelling so much when this wonderful flower blooms, but those moments were too brief.
For me Do Son is a green jasmine, which is always a pretty thing. But when it comes to white florals I’ve smelt better.

VanilllaPrincess

Smells very similar to Issey Miyake Absolute, which I adore. By the way this website is so early early 2000's esque. I had to scroll down all the comments to write this. Maybe time for an upgrade? Haha.

notzarafan

A very cool-smelling tuberose - not overpowering at all if you're careful (I have the roller ball so it's better if you're worried about over-spraying - which I usually am). Opening the bottle always me feel like I've stepped into the cool, slightly damp shade of a tree after walking in the sun, and happening to find tuberoses growing under the tree.

Wilhelminary

This one is a special one on my shelf because I bought it not because I love smelling it. I bought it because I love how it made my feel.

It made me feel very feminine. I never dress myself in feminine clothes - I usually wear neutral colors and black jeans. I do not own any heels or floral dresses. But wearing Do Son gave me this delicate, feminine, sexy feeling, but in a quiet, mysterious way.

It is tuberose plain and simple, without any nauseating sweetness. Lasts most of the day on me and a little goes a long way.

Light, fresh, smooth, sophisticated - very well done.

h149

Do Son smells like Diptyque's Olene, but it hits you at a much lower register, feels less sweet and innocent, and there's more heat. MUCH more heat. Actually, it keeps heating up and up and up as it dries down. For this reason I find it intensely animalistic and even a bit aggressive despite the fact that it is essentially a floral scent. I think it could be very compelling on the right sort of guy.

lanlinhcc

I am Vietnamese so I am really keen on trying this Vietnam-inspired fragrance. So sad that I don't like it at all. It is a simple, subtle, fresh tuberose, and that's it. No layers, no complexity. If you like tuberose and tuberose only, this is for you. If you are looking for something else, something interesting, it would be disappointing.
One more reason I don't like it is I cannot find any feeling related to Do Son, or Vietnam, not as what the house has stated :)

1guy1dog3cats

For me, tuberose had a high "learning curve." I guess that's to say it took me a while to understand and enjoy it as a perfume note. But now, I actively seek it out. Of the tuberose-centric, you've got your Gucci Bloom as a fresh, everyday tuberose, your Fracas as a grande-dame tuberose, your Truth or Dare as a billowing, candied tuberose, your Versace Blonde as a brash, slutty tuberose, your Carnal Flower as a mentholated, photorealistic tuberose, etc, etc.

But then there's Do Son. A proper, but still sexy, tuberose, with just the right amount of musk and a perfectly calibrated smoothness. Truly special, unforgettable, and an absolute classic.

mohsen95

cocofluff

Crisp, green, and powdery tuberose that has a musky base that's nice on my skin. It's a little metallic and animalic, which is absent from the EDP so I prefer the creamy EDP over this EDT. Lovely perfume. Sampled it. -

EnergeticCrab

Do Son smells nice from the bottle, but on me it is an acrid floral bouquet in a vet's office. Very medicinal and reminds me of flea collars. I think it's the benzoin. Unfortunate because this brand makes some stunning scents.

ntabassum92

I do get the iris in the top, after first applying. It's a fresh and green floral perfume at the beginning. This is one of the more transparent tuberose fragrances around. As the tuberose and orange blossom begin to show themselves, they have kind of an oily feel, like white floral perfume oil. I don't love this effect, but as the perfume wears, the oiliness dissipates and the perfume becomes more warm and vannillic. Although it does become slightly sweeter as it dries down, it still retains that fresh, green tuberose quality that other more gourmand tuberose fragrances lack. This is a very realistic tuberose, good for spring. Perhaps because this is the EDT, it doesn't last so well on me - can't really smell it around me after about 2-3 hours. I think it's also a little too simple to pique my interest, but if you are looking for a fresh, non-heady tuberose, this is a good one.

Do Son was my preferred choice of tuberose centered white floral of the last summer. For the almost constantly working girl in the summer, Do Son had successfully created the illusion of swimming in the sea and then jumping onto a bed of tuberoses, with their stems, to lay.
Of course I have been wearing it in autumn and in the coldest winter that Greece is going through, and it still works amazing. Five hours with small projection is reasonable for a pure floral.
No sweetness at all even though there is a slight hazy coconut effect, with an old-fashioned hair-spray opening, a green tropical intermediate stage and finally straight up tuberose with a prominent medicinal accord
I love it when I get a medicinal effect out of a perfume, which I did not primarily expected from Do Son, and it came as a surprise. Lady-like, sensual, "grown-up" perfume. A perfume. One of the best from Diptyque

Singabera

It's quite boring perfume, lacks of nuances and development. Just blast of white flowers, which stays with you for about 4 hours, and gradually gets more and more silent.
L'Artisan De nuit tuberose is much more interesting.

It's true that the EDP and the EDT are completely different, and even if you're new to perfume, like me, you'll still be able to notice. I adore the EDP but not the EDT, just a matter of personal preference. Don't risk a blind buy just because you love one. You might have completely different feelings about the other.

I find this fragrance fairly middle of the road, as much as I love Philosykos and Eau Moheli. It's nice. It's fine. It's very flowery, quite light, would be (and probably will be) a pleasant work fragrance. It's just flowers. Lots and lots of flowers, not much else to report. It's unoffensive and fairly light, just flowers.

This is ok. Not the best I've tried from this house; unoffensive, pleasant enough, not over-powering, clean... Not shaking my world but it's fine for work and general nostril peace.

Do Son EdT is a soft spoken tuberose scent. After a brief citrusy opening the tuberose dominates the whole fragrance with a creamy musky drydown. Very linear, simple, easy-wearing scent. It is not a heavy, loud, indolic diva-type tuberose, it's much more innocent and natural.
