L'Eau Couture by Elie Saab is a Floral fragrance for women. L'Eau Couture was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top notes are Magnolia and Calabrian bergamot; middle note is Orange Blossom; base notes are Green Almond and Vanilla.

L`Eau Couture is the olfactory continuation of the designer s Ready-to-Wear 2014 Spring-Summer collection, in which ethereal fabrics as light as petals chisel a magical fusion between woman and nature. It captures the ecstasy of nature blossoming in an urban springtime setting.

For L`Eau Couture, Francis Kurkdjian dreamed up a brand new tribute to freshness, which he leads into sensuality characterised by absolute sophistication. L`Eau Couture reinterprets accords in a way never seen before.

"The idea to create a Couture Eau is quite uncommon in this register. It s a sophisticated, sensual freshness, far removed from the conventions found in fragrances usually created in this repertoire" - Francis Kurkdjian

Here, Orange Blossom unveils an unexpected facet, inspired by the fleeting period when the newly-bloomed blossoms exude slightly almondy notes. As its traditional honey-like aromas are subdued, Orange Blossom inhabits the fragrance like a poetic whisper. Its subtly textured floral freshness, upheld by intricate transparency, is an echo of sun-kissed femininity.

A fusional Accord of crisp Green Almond unites the blossoms with the bed of vanilla at the perfume s base. An irresistibly light Vanilla Infusion reveals the transparency of the floral notes, which it enshrouds in an addictive aura, creating a soft and luminous sillage.

Dressed in an elegant water-green box, the delicately facetted bottle reveals a crystalline green juice. Radiance and transparency resonate like an echo of the original freshness of this new fragrance. L'Eau Couture lets us discover freshness like a promise of new emotions. It invites us to dive into new sensations born of the lightness associated with the newness of spring.

The newest fragrance by Elie Saab named Le Parfum L'Eau Couture will be available in 30, 50 and 90ml EDT bottles before Spring 2014.

I tried to like this, because the notes looked so promising, but unfortunately it's just a sad perfume. Somehow, for some reason, it smells old and tired and just plain sad. Old, sad, and bitter, just like that almond note.

ARainyDayInMay

I'd received this years back from a friend as a 15 ml mini and it managed to surprise me at the time since I wasn't really acquainted with orange flower or almond that much.
As an EdT, the life this has on skin is amazing, since most will disappear within the hour most times. You can overspray, and this will not become screechy, it will not become overly sweet.
I find it a bit green, a bit sweet, very clean, very office friendly. If you can still find it at a good price, it's definitely worth getting, especially since it's been discontinued for such a long time. It's worth mentioning that probably due to the vanilla in the juice the color goes darker. I've only had that pistachio clear color on my first bottle for about a couple of weeks when it started going dark little by little.

I have just bought my second bottle on Ebay, glad that somehow we can still have access to this beauty, it's so smooth and well blended, and for the price, wow, amazing.

Negihak

A really pretty scent for any occasion. Creamy smooth & sweet orange flower. Such a shame it's discontinued

TDSollog

This Francis Kurkdjian creation is a favorite of mine. It's almost half-gone, and I'm sad it's discontinued.... it's superior to Tom Ford's "Vanilla Sex"!

TexasOrangeBlossom

For where I live, I feel this works best in spring and fall. I tried it during our blazing hot summer, but it didn’t appeal to me as much then. I’ve come to the conclusion that I do not appreciate the waxy green smell of magnolia in high heat.
Anyway, this is youthful and carefree. Clean, pretty girl impression in the beginning that gets cozier as it dries down. Not the best longevity on me, but I semi recently bought my bottle from Jomashop for a very good price. As for the Elie Saab house, I have several from them and some have taken time to learn to appreciate. Don’t dismiss them too quickly.

Dracaena

I bought it in 2014, and have had it since. It is dark amber, almost brown, the green color lasted for maybe a year or less. But it is still beautifully addictive. I keep going back to it (and I have 3 other Elie Saab perfumes). White floral almondy wonderfulness, with strong orange blossom which I love. I don't distinctively pick vanilla, but my husband dislikes vanilla in perfumes and dislikes this one.

Despite some common notes, I find that the original Elie Saab fragrances have VERY DIFFERENT personalities. For me:
-- Elie Saab EdP is sharp, beautiful but very sharp, makes me think of a business woman with power. She's smart and serious and wears pointy heels with her suit. Very long life in my skin.
-- Elie Saab EdT is girly and delicate, this is for a summer dress, fresher than the others, sadly short lived in me. She's young and happy, wears a flowy flowery dress, near the waterfront. Mid-afternoon summer vibes.
-- Elie Saab Eau Couture is cozy romantic, orange blossom and almond make me think of a mediterranean city. She is a woman (not young girl), cozy in her large sweater and friends love her, perfect smell for hugging. Very long life in my skin.

I have been trying to find a similar fragrance dreading the moment when I run out of my 50ml bottle. I bought GoN and hate it. This one is still unique, and one of my favorite perfumes ever.

veida

I bought a bottle at a discount. It probably stood for a long time, the color is brown, but are there other deleted inscriptions on the vial? When touched, the remnants are also erased, very strangely

Mooniq

Love this fragrance but I can't find it to buy anywhere. Found perfeume parlour UK, they make really good clones and I love this clones, just as good as the original.

Imagine edible magnolias made from a baker’s fondant, butter cream icing, vanilla Angel food cake, and crushed almonds between layers of cake & icing. Right now I am testing this while sitting outside on a warm sunny day. The last time I tested it was when it was still cold outside. IMO, I feel that this is one of those perfumes that blooms best in warmer weather— late spring throughout all of summer. There is a floral, butter creaminess that surrounds you when wearing this. The almond note appears on me too, but what it reminds me of most is those wedding almonds (Jordan almonds) used for party favors. The florals and candy coated almonds float around in a cloud of butter cream and cake. A light gourmand floral is how I would describe this. Light as in, it will satisfy your sweet tooth without giving you any cavities. Projection is great too. I almost passed this one on, but I have reconsidered. I am glad I held onto it until I was able to try it in warmer weather because now I truly can appreciate how lovely it is. Speaking of wedding almonds and cake, it would make a beautiful wedding perfume. 👰♀️💒💍

P.S. The citrus top notes don’t linger very long. On me they disappear rather quickly, which is why I didn’t bother to touch on them in my above review. Also, if I had to choose between almond note perfumes from Elie Saab, I would choose this 100% over Girl of Now.

I originally purchased this one when it came out (2014), and used it a lot that year. When I smell this, it brings me straight back to that year - completing my first year of university, and falling in love for the first time. A couple years went by, and I grew out of it and gave my bottle away. I'm not sure why.

Fast-forward to this week, and this beauty popped back up into my mind. Despite knowing it was discontinued, I decided to search for it online, and managed to order it. It just arrived, and it is just as stunning as I remember it to be.

This smells strongly of orange blossom and almond, with a sweet vanilla base. It has a duality that I find makes it unique; the vanilla makes it warm, while the green almond gives it a certain 'coldness'. The smell reminds me a lot of baklava, which is a middle eastern treat I really enjoy - filled with nuts and soaked with orange-blossom tinged honey.

This is super feminine and perfect for spring/summer. I can see it working well worn with a summer dress, enjoying a coffee on a sunny patio.

The downside is that longevity isn't so great; it becomes a skin scent within only a couple hours for me. Between all the Elie Saab flankers, this one ranks second behind my favourite - Le Parfum EDT (which has also unfortunately been discontinued). That one smells quite similar to L'Eau Couture, but is a tad less sweet so I find it more balanced.

Note: the juice in this does darken quite a bit over my time. My bottle (which according to the batch code was produced in 2014, but never opened) has a dark amber colour.

What a nice fragrance!

This is my first Elie Saab fragrance, which attracts me so much.

When I tried this on paper, I thought it would definitely be a giveaway. But this smells so beautiful on my skin.

The creamy almond scent brings me back to my childhood memories because I used to enjoy making and eating sweets made from almond powder.

It's so interesting and touching for me to know that I have come to adore the scents of the fragrances and foods my mother used to like even though I couldn't have intimate relationships with her. Almond chocolate was one of her favorite sweets.

It's been my dream to wear almond fragrance ever since I purchased almond linen fragrance from Dr. Taffi, a house from Toscana, Italy.
Elie Saab has made my dream come true.

Due to the difference in moisture in the air, I have the inclination to choose British fragrances rather than French fragrances.

I feel British fragrances match Japanese air most. But I'm really surprised that Lebanese fragrances also gently touch the air here.

Scentflower

I love Elie Saab perfumes! Le Parfum Intense is my FAVORITE. Sadly, I don't like this perfume. Blind buy gone wrong. I wanted desperately to get a almond note in here, but sadly I got none. It's a pure white floral with a soap quality to it. I saw reviews about a soapy vibe to it but really didn't expect to get it. I get no almond, no orange blossom, no lemon NOTHING. I'm not sure what white floral I get but it smells kinda dated. I'm laying off the blind buys for a long time to avoid another mistake.

Marketaza

Nice, nice, nice.. I love it so much! This amazing lemon macaron is one of the most beautiful scents in my large collection, I must stock up on enough bottles!

Creamy_ambrette

This is NOT gourmand at all to my nose! This smells like a very high end shampoo to me. I get the waxy magnolia at the top, then a sweet but very floral magnolia/ orange blossom combo. Mixed with the green almond and vanilla, this just comes across soapy.
It’s a very nice fragrance and I think some would love this, it’s just not me. I gravitate towards more lactonic, creamy almonds and deep resinous ambers and balsamic vanilla’s to ground the florals. I will say this has major longevity and projection! I think Le Parfum or Le Parfum in White might be a better fit for me.

Fleurie20

It feels almost like if you have either of the two Le Parfum or Le Parfum EDT, L'eau Couture is unneccessary cuz it smells so similar once sprayed. Sweet orange flower w some strange synthetic theme beneath. It seems to me Elie Saab was a bit unsure about what type of scent they want to introduce next after the massively successful LP and LP edt.

peachygal

Such a gorgeous fragrance! I can’t pick out any specific notes but it is incredibly sweet but In a fresh and light way. It’s not deep. I feel like it is appropriate for any time, any season and any occassion.

It’s a grown up sweet scent. Performs quite well too.

RomanticRose

Big Elie Saab lover here and this juice does not disappoint. Just a beautiful, cool, intoxicating white floral.
I wear this in the spring when the white flowers are blooming and I love the crisp yet comforting aroma this beautiful fragrance invokes. A successful blind buy for those who love their white florals

splendorfalls

I keep coming back to this fragrance - it's really one that has grown on me. On a test strip I thought it was awful - very sterile. A few days later I thought the same test strip smelled amazing. On my skin I find myself liking it more and more through out the day as it changes on my skin. This is not like Girl of Now almond but a lighter sweet green almond. It's fresh and lightly floral - a little green but not off putting if you are a green hater like me. The vanilla is there hugging it all together. Comforting, delightful, fresh, and somehow gets better the more you wear it. Not many perfumes I own intrigue me like this one. (mine has turned from green to gold over time as others have mentioned)

Likilichi

I thought I knew notes well enough to blind buy this perfume so I was super surprised when it arrived and didn’t smell an iota like how I’d imagined. Now that it’s here, I think I like it but I keep layering it with another perfume so maybe I don’t. The whole thing is a confusing situation. I just keep thinking that the smell reminds me of an unused feminine hygiene product…not gross in and of itself, like if you didn’t know what you were smelling it would be devoid of grossness. But you know a fresh-from-the-box maxi pad smell so you kind of can’t escape that in your brain.

minipistachio

This is officially my signature scent. I smelled it for the first time in 2014 and fell in love with it. I was in my early 20s and broke, so I couldn’t afford it. I would think about it occasionally and put in low offers on eBay (sorry to all the sellers who were upset with my lowball offers). I’m now in my late 20s and I can finally afford this perfume. I bought myself a bottle, nervous that I might have misremembered it. I still have my original sample vial gifted to me by my aunt, but no juices are left. I basically blind bought this. I sprayed it and WOW. It is still just as marvelous as I remember. I am in love all over again. I immediately bought 3 more bottles as backups. This is my forever fragrance and I am so sad it is discontinued. It holds a special place in my heart.

This fragrance smells like a warm, full bodied, well rounded cup of tea on a sunny cold morning. I get almost no almond, which is surprising. I smell bergamot, orange blossom and vanilla. This perfume smells like a cross between earl grey and jasmine tea. The bergamot makes this perfume smell like earl grey and the orange blossom almost reminds me of a clean, fresh, non-musky jasmine. This scent is very sweet but light. It then settles into a warm cozy vanilla but doesn’t really lose the orange blossom. It’s a very creamy and comforting scent. There’s no other perfume like this on the market.

It smells similar to Jo Malone Orange Blossom, but without the sharpness or harshness. The bergamot and vanilla really round out this fragrance and make it a well-balanced, comforting scent. I love smelling this scent when I’m overwhelmed because it calms me down. My go-to aromatherapy scent.

A woman who wears this is timelessly elegant, confident, youthful, slightly mischievous and sarcastic but poised and gracious. Good god I couldn’t pull this off in my early 20s but I feel like I’ve grown into this fragrance.

I am so in love.

Top notes; citrus, magnolia, rose, lemon

Heart notes; orange blossom

Base notes; green almond, vanilla

Delightful :)

This is really lovely, a successful blind buy. At 25.99, I thought, why not? I had been looking for an almond scent but the ones I had tried had been too powdery, too boozy, or too faint (I’m looking at you, Hypnotic Poison). This is a gourmand-ish floral that is elegant but not pretentious. The almond here is more green than creamy but the vanilla and orange blossom keep it from going too green. I could swear I smell pear in this but it’s not in the notes. However, I see that Montale Wild Pears was listed in the “This perfume reminds me of” section so at least I know it’s not just me!

Amour, Michele

This is a delicious almond vanilla nougat drenched in orange blossom water. It's a dreamy floral gourmand scent, equal parts watery orange blossom and almond vanilla tincture. The whole effect is light and airy, and I think the greenness of the almond instead of the usual sweet or powdery facet helps. I'm not a huge fan of the original Le Parfum because it's too much; too honeyed, too floral-sweet, too amped up, too made-up. I think L'eau Couture would be a great easy everyday perfume or something to wear on vacation or while relaxing. It's really delicious without being too foody. Perfect for people who like gourmand scents but don't want to smell like a cupcake. Don't be put off when the bottle you purchase contains a golden brown liquid instead of the beautiful green in the picture. As usual for scents with a lot of vanilla, it changes color without the scent turning.

cranky137

This is absolutely amazing. I just wonder why not people are talking more of this beauty? It is almonds, but not intoxicating, vanilla and orange blossom. You get a felling of a Elie Saab le parfum flanker, for sure, but it is definitely unique enough to be a separate fragrance.
Aside from this, it is made by Francis Kurkdjian, with a skill of a master perfumer, l'eau couture could be easily sold by his own brand MFK and it would cost about 170€ for 70ml, and I bet, people would buy it and praise. So shame it stays in the shadow and is discontinued. Fragcomm should definitely pick up for this gem.

fmangion

I just got this and I love it. So sad it's discontinued. Such a beautiful gem. Classy, sophisticated, sexy perfume.

purplelover

I miss her so much :((

sunnyjim

I was wondering is there an updated perfume out there now on the market similar to Elie Saab L'eau Couture as it's discontinued? Please any updated suggestions. Thank you.

beige dahlia

I tried this at the store and I really liked it at the time because the scent is beautiful. The thing is that to me, the sweetness and citrusy notes are just sooo strong and after awhile I just don't want to smell it anymore, but it just wont go away. I have sprayed it on paper and after 5 days I can still smell it. Unfortunately I am not wearing it at all.

mypoison

L’eau Couture is sophistication in a bottle. It makes me feel like a million dollars. I often find orange blossom cloying or overpowering, but L’eau Couture is fresh and classy with just the right amount of sweetness.

92juanjavier

This perfume is very fine. A scent that evokes the good years of perfumery, when a perfume lasted a long time on your skin and projected a lot.
When you smell it on blotting paper or directly from the stopper, which you shouldn't do, it smells like a dense and full-bodied perfume, like some 90's or 80's fragrance, very powerful, but once you spray it on your arm it smells in a totally different way.
Elie Saab Le parfum L'Eau couture is a perfume that will delight any lover of good fragrances.
(This perfume also contains magnolia and bergamot inside, although it is not listed on this website)

I consider this perfume totally unisex, it made a very good chemistry with my skin and I can't notice it feminine or masculine, simply a scent that evokes a spring or autumn day, (maybe too loud for spring?)
Something I like about wearing this fragrance is that I have never smelled or know of any that resembles it even a little, it is very original and unique.

A longevity on the skin of more than 8 hours and a very noticeable sillage
Quite a work of art by the great Francis Kurkdjian.

By the way, the color of the juice of my bottle is not green anymore, now is amber, this is not bad, it's normal because of the time and vanilla.

harperpeshhe

This one was a blind buy for me and after a couple of months of wearing it, it's a strong like but it very much depends on the weather. On cooler days, I detect a slight green almond note with sweet vanilla, it is really elegant and beautiful. However, on warmer days it's a very amped up sweet vanilla and nothing else. Maybe it has to do with the vanilla strengthening in the fragrance turning it amber in colour?
With the recommendation of the previous reviewer, I tried it with the Shea body butter from the Body Shop and it is lovely. If you really love sweet scents you could pull this one off all year round, but for me it is purely autumn/winter and perfect for rainy days.

polkadot27

I love this perfume so much. It is sexy, classy, floral sweetness with a creamy nuttiness that seeps through. This perfume just makes me happy and for me it is somewhat gourmand too which adds to the deliciousness of it. It makes me feel sexy and feminine whenever I wear it and lifts my mood. I think it is an ideal perfume for going on dates or for a summer romance. It has a uniqueness about it and I am disappointed that it is now very hard to find here in the UK.

I am not usually one for layering my fragrances with a body lotion, but by accident I layered this with Shea body lotion from body shop, which also has that nutty undertone and it made this scent last all day. It really made for a killer combination and I wore the two together everyday for the early summer months and it kept me feeling fresh and sexy. I highly recommend anyone who owns the two products to wear them together, you will not be disappointed.

Dulcette91

This is one of those perfumes I love sooo much, but it just doesn't seem to work on me. I LOVE the scent on paper and out of the bottle, but it doesn't smell as special on me. I feel like this is one of the rare almond scents that work for my nose, though. It's not marzipan almond, it's nuttier, and works well in combination with the orange blossom. It is a beautiful scent, but perhaps too gentle for me. I just find it disappears on me and doesn't suit me, but I do love wearing it nonetheless. I noticed the juice discoloration too (and within weeks...) which is incredibly disappointing :( From what I tested, it's my favorite Elie Saab. I couldn't stand Girl of Now even though the bottle is so pretty.

lysithea

Such a great combination of green almond vanilla and orange blossom. Vanilla gives a warm sweet base and green almond gives it a fresh green twist which makes the perfume more interesting. Simple beauty.

missogi

It's funny how polarising the reviews for this baby are. One reviewer said that she took a 180 degrees turn on her opinion (from "meh" to "love"). Well... I'm similar :D
I have the original EDP, EDT, the intense one and and the red resort collection, and I LOVE them all. I mean I really love them. With this one, I was going back and forth based on the reviews, but then decided to go for it and blind buy. It's discontinued, so no chance to try in a store.
Straight after the purchase and the first 1.5 days I was a bit underwhelmed. I'm not a huge fan of green fragrances, and this smelt too green, too clean, too fresh to me. I like it sweeter and more intense. And since I have the original ES LP as the benchmark, I wasn't sure I was going to keep L'Eau Couture.
But then something happened... I gave it a proper wear for half a day and fell completely in love! It's beautiful, it calms me down, it's elegant, and so sophisticated in its simplicity. The first 5-10 minutes I smell the green, somewhat bitter almond. Then I start smelling the orange blossom. I never get to the vanilla on my skin, for me it's definitely not sweet. L'Eau Couture makes me feel good and makes me constantly smell my wrist. It's like a warm hug that you don't want to let go of. My husband complimented me on it (which doesn't happen often 😁)
I'm absolutely in love, and am baffled by my change of heart on this beautiful fragrance. Very happy to have it in my collection.

Update: I heard that you have to use a fragrance for some time before it 100% unveils its real scent. Aka "get some air into the bottle". I think it's the case here. I also decanted about 8ml into an atomizer, so that could have helped with getting that air in.
I'm head over heels in love with Eau Couture, and I can't imagine that it smelled like this when I first sprayed it. My reaction was "meh, ok....", and now it's a consistent "wow". I'm even considering getting a backup bottle even though mine is a 90ml bottle.

RainbowGirl

My first review here was a scathing review of Jo Malone's Orange Blossoms, which was just dreadful enough to lure me here, so that I could share my experience. Now I am beginning to think I was a little too harsh on our Londoner Perfumer. Perhaps the smell I likened to a "tree anus" smell, was the smell of an actual orange blossom? Because I smell a hint of that scent here in this perfume, but thankfully just a hint.

The green almond is delicious, and the perfume is pretty, but it does not hold a candle to the original Le Parfum. I would not have purchased a whole bottle of this, if I had the opportunity to try it first. C 'est la vie.

If anyone would like to trade something for this perfume, please message me. I have a full bottle in the original box, kept in a dark cool closet.

Lollo

Not so good that I would by it again. Smells a bit aged, like more suitable in in the early 00s. Its still quite nice for a lady Who is around 60 years old. Or perhaps a girl at 16? Sweet and feminine, Vanilla and Sugar but powdery maybe some apricot. Theese are notes i dont usually like and it takes me by surprice beacuse i love the rest from the line Elie saab - Le parfum.

greten55

I bought it summer 2020 but didn´t use it so much then. I had a test of it two years ago and really liked it, and then I got a chanse to buy it from a friend. I have now used it every day over a month, and start to get addictive of it. It is not perky, yet present. It´s classic and feminin, without being to much floral and sweet. I am surprised that I love it so much.

Lazarelle

This was an impulsive blind buy - I really wanted to know what the green almond smelled like, the mint green bottle in the adverts looked so pretty, and I can't go out and try any fragrances at the moment. As other reviewers have said, the green almond is a sharp, fresh, soapy note, and nothing at all like a well-developed creamy almond. (I much prefer the latter, like in Valentino Donna Acqua.) This scent strikes me as quite heavy for an EDT, or maybe it seems that way in the cold weather. I will try wearing it again in spring. I am also realising I just don't get on very well with white florals - they tend to overwhelm my senses and give me a headache. I would limit this to one spray only, and that would be more than enough when I'm in the mood for this sort of scent.

Elie Saab L'Eau Couture is a clean and sophisticated fragrance, unequivocally high-end, but rather impersonal and cold. A springtime business fragrance...I'm imagining a white chiffon blouse in a formal, austere, minimalist office setting. I would like more sweetness in it - I can hardly detect any vanilla. Just the green almond and white floral sharpness all the way through. This is an easy perfume to appreciate, but perhaps not to love. I can imagine myself wearing it when I want to feel, or come across as calm, cool, collected and somewhat detached from others.

I should have looked at the Fragram photos for this; the appearance of the juice is not actually mint green, but a darker yellow-olive colour, which disappointed me. Maybe the production was changed before they discontinued the perfume.

Update: This is definitely a warm weather fragrance. Wearing it today, on a sunny (very) early spring day, and the scent is clean, soapy, refreshing and sophisticated. I can see that I'll be using this a lot more in the spring months!

dalkiuyu

On paper this combination of notes sound like a dream. Plus the bottle and mint green juice are so beautiful. For me, however, I get a very strong, almost sickeningly sweet smell of almond/cherry syrup. The addition of white florals makes this sharp and it can be headache-inducing. Could see this being really lovely on the right person though - sprayed sparingly on a cashmere sweater in colder weather for example! I do think you have to really like sweet scents to fully enjoy this one.

Duft Liebe

Well, now I know, what a green, cool almond smells like. This is, how this perfume starts out on me. Then it takes a little while and it turns into a warmer, feminine and pleasent smell.
I hoped it to be more alike ES Le Parfum, with sweet almond. To me it is not. So, I don´t enjoy it very much, but it is still beautyful and an easy daily wear.

Cmed

A pass for me. I had to try it since 3 of my favourite notes are listed here. However the transparent green branding perfectly fits this. Instead of a cream almond, that the notes here suggest, it is very much a green, unripe almond. Not a horrible smell. I wouldn't be bothered by someone wearing it. Not overbearing or sickly. Just not my personal preference.

LenaM

A lovely, warm almond scent. Wearing l'Eau Couture is like getting a hug from your mother or grandmother; nothing feels safer. (I'm not saying the scent is geriatric) L'Eau Couture is sexy in a quiet way, and very calming.

rajnigandha

Why did they stop making it?!! I absolutely love it. It's unavailability in the market has turned me frugal with its use. This is the perfume that set me on the path of perfume collection. When I first encountered it, I hadn't smelled anything like it. Almond is the star note and somehow it stays there until the end and that's stunning.

ErinSullivanBeauty

This isn't as perfect as I had hoped, but it's still a nice scent. The almond note is more like a fresh almond rather than a creamy almond note - and I think that's why the opening smells like licorice to me. But that goes a way a bit in the drydown. I don't get much of the orange blossom. Mostly just a bright almondy vanilla scent. It's nice enough. I'll use the partial bottle I bought but won't repurchase.

KayleeAp

I like this one on first impression. It is a sweet perfume on me, and could definitely see why some others recommend wearing it in winter. I don't find it fresh at all. The almond in this reminds me of the almond in the dry down of Serge Lutens Datura Noir - but that's about the only resemblance. In comparison to the original Elie Saab Le Parfum, this one definitely is similar but has the honey and patchouli completely toned down. This one is classy but also casual - perhaps what I would wear to Sunday brunch, on a Friday at the office, or to visit my grandma. This is my third fragrance from Elie Saab and I am so impressed with this house!

eta: the more I wear this, the more I get a bubblegum vibe from it.

Malleable

This reads as a bitter sort of green fresh scent on my skin. It's almost headache-inducing and not really to my taste. I was hoping for a more gourmand sweetness but I don't get any of that.

RosieRose16

I did a complete 180 with my opinion on this scent - on first try I thought it was overly sweet and cloying but also quite generic, and boring - nothing special at all. I love all of the other elie saab perfumes so was disappointed not to like this one too. I gave it another try recently and OMG amazing. Still sweet but almondy, cozy, comforting, delicious - just heavenly! The difference... first try was on a hot day and second was cold and rainy. I know this has mostly been voted for spring/summer but I totally agree with the reviewer below me, l'eau couture totally comes to life in the cold. This will be my autumn go to for sure. It will be perfect sprayed on cosy jumpers and fluffy scarves. I love it and have managed to snag a 90ml gift set as a back up!

ETA - the liquid in both of my bottles is amber not the pictured green. I understand this is due to the vanilla changing over time and as l'eau couture is no longer in production most bottles purchased now will be amber rather than green.

AlexandraTroush

I have owned this for a while now and I finally know when it works best for me. The fresh vibe this gives off is misleading. It doesn't work as nicely in the heat as it does in the cold.

It is its most beautiful self when it's cooler. The almond comes out, the floral notes are at bay, and it gives you that lovely warm, cozy feeling.
In the heat it becomes unbearably sweet. I LOVE sweet (Angel by Mugler, namely), don't get me wrong, but it smells like a Pillsbury factory, in a very suffocating and overpowering way. Like if you ate 3 tablespoons of honey and gulped it down with warm milk.

It's a paradox. This is a fresh spring scent, without actually being fresh or spring appropriate (at least not on sunny days).

Anyway, I LOVE it on colder days. Absolutely cuddly and warming.

This is almost what I expect Maison Lancome's Jasmins Marzipane to smell like, in my mind.

Papavero0

I was hoping for almond. No almond here, folks, move along. What I did notice was the Elie Saab honey and jasmin. And rose... Try before buying...That pyramid is veeery abstract and incomplete.

Pixiedust2

This is all crisp, zesty, citrus floral on me. Very green. No nuttiness or almond to be found on my skin. I ordered three different samples of this, convinced I received the wrong one or I was going crazy, judging by the many reviews mentioning heavy almond and marzipan. This starts out with lots of orange blossom and then a zesty citrus shows up, bergamot most likely. The vanilla is barely noticeable on my skin. This is the farthest thing from gourmand. And no creaminess either. This smells like a lime and orange cologne you would splash on in the heat of the summer to refresh yourself. Wish my skin was amping up the almond but I just can't smell anything resembling a nut. It doesn't smell like Mandorlo at all to me.

Jmalone84

This is a slightly fluffier less musky version of Le Parfum. Orange blossom is very prominent in the piece, with warm fluffy overtones of vanilla and almond blossom. There is a beautiful honeyed amber quality along with musk and waxy jasmine accords.

There is a real sophistication to this one. I picture a tanned goddess with dark eyes, dark glossy hair in a white fitted dress. This is a relatively simple fragrance which manages to be very wearable. Not for casual wear though. This is more for formal or office wear, for a date or a wedding, possibly for a bride. The sillage is not quite as potent as Le Parfum I don’t think, but still quite impressive and longevity is good as well.

Likely to garner compliments, men certainly love it. A toned down version of Le Parfum.

Beautiful scent. Quite affordable now too. I have had my bottle now for more than 2 years and have only used a quarter of it. It deserves more of my attention though. Would definitely recommend. One note though, I have noticed mine is not green like the picture. I’ve noticed some bottles are pictured with green juice and some with orange. What’s the deal with that?

Rosemary14

I found MY Elie Saab. This is so fresh, clean, and perfect for spring. Elie Saab does some gorgeous fragrances and they are wonderful at portraying the orange flower. But, I tend to be sensitive to patchouli. I like patchouli when it’s used with a light hand or it’s very well blended. In this fragrance there is no patchouli and the freshness of the orange flower is allowed a solo for a while until the almond comes in to support it. Which is incredible because MFK is a Kill Bill level master when it comes to that wonderful delicate little orange flower. It does have the same DNA from the original Le Parfum, but without the richer honeyed patchouli. This is lighter, fresher than LP with the same exact orange blossom of the original with some added fluffy powdery almond and vanilla and slightly green freshness. I’ve circled around buying this fragrance for a few years now and I’m so glad I took the plunge and blind bought this little beauty. It’s so fresh and pretty. Orange flower is a tiny bit green in the best way. It’s a natural kind of green like just the freshness of green nature, but not at all overwhelming. If you love orange flower and the sweet creaminess of almond buy this little gem while it’s still around. I’m an almond fiend and I adore the orange flower this is clean, fresh, sweet, uplifting, sweet, floral. If I’d found this fragrance years ago even when I was a fragrance scaredy cat I’d have loved it guaranteed. It’s a great fragrance for wanting some out of the shower light spring freshness.

victoria.mei1992

Smells very synthetic. Nuts mixed with sickly sweet honey jasmine scent. Once you spray and walk through the room, your room will smell like this all day.

Bubbles1964

Regarding florals in this composition: mostly I smell jasmine flowers and orange blossom. But the predominant note throughout is almond, and there’s no change from start to finish—it just gets a little softer. Everything is sweetened up with vanilla, and what I perceive to be a honey note.

This is a spring scent because it might be too strong for summer. In the heat, I would imagine this to be too much. Elie Saab and Francis Kurkdjian have created some great work together, and this is another like from me.

For an EDT, I’m getting very good performance. Should be on your short list if you like easy-to-wear, sweet, clean floral.

Miasha

I had this, since I so fell in love with this very beautiful and special fragrance. But unfortunaltely, it was too strong for me, gave me headache!! So I had to give it away. Such a shame for me, cause I liked it a lot, but at least I made someone else happy!
Before this, I had also tried on the original Elie Saab, just in the perfume shop, trying twice, different days. An absolutely lovely perfume, that one too! But too strong for me. So sad: obviousely these are not for me.
Maybe some day I can try again..?

Jacquis

Elie Saab Le Parfum L'Eau Couture EDT is a fresh spring/summer perfume. The immediate blast is quite bright and cheerful. Today is 80F and low humidity. L'Eau Couture has great longevity but does not project far. More of an EDP performance. It has a sense of sophistication about it. The dry down is very unique and gives me a sharp, green almond and neroli scent with no sweetness. Reminescent of a pistachio note. Perhaps the vanilla will appear at greater than 90F? I'll find out in another 2 months.

MinnieCay

I really enjoy this. I'm not a huge floral fan, but the notes in this caught my eye so I decided to try it. It's a nice, soft floral. It's sweet and a bit powdery. I don't know that I love it enough to purchase a full-sized bottle, but I would consider a travel size for sure.

AlexandraTroush

I sprayed this on myself about 30 minutes ago and when I suddenly have the craziest revelation: this smells EXATCLY like Britney's Hidden Fantasy.
I own Hidden Fantasy, so I compared them side by side. Hidden Fantasty has some extra citrus notes, but they fade away quickly and all that's left is this orange blossom and vanilla cloud, which is exactly L'Eau Couture!

If you've been wanting to get your hands on this and can't anymore, grab Hidden Fantasy, you won't regret it!

chinna

Sweet marzipan, juicy bitter greenish notes, a touch of lactonic jasmine, all at the same time ... take center stage one at a time randomly. For my peaceful and relaxing pleasant sensation.

lmwimsatt

I just got this in a swap and I think it smells mostly like pear. I like it a lot!

floralscents88

a successful blind buy. a beautiful clean and fresh scent. It's an unusual scent. on my skin i can't smell the vanilla, thank goodness. it's faintly sweet which I can tolerate. love the heavy bottle too.

rajnigandha

Can anyone please tell me if this scent has really been discontinued?

AlexandraTroush

Very nice, clean, spring perfume. Lovely, really, and I don't reckon smelling anything similar lately. It is not the most unique scent ever, but it is pretty and cheerful. I can't wait for spring!

Eugenia Olesen

Lady in the bottle. Not a mysterious femme fatale, but the sophisticated lady, the one that knows she is a Woman and not a bit apologetic about her female powers. Let us leave all the fatal temptations to other scents. This one is cosy, tender, warm, homey scent. This is a light, sunny and ever so slightly bitter fragrance for home, for love, for family. Adorable one!

zind

Oh L'Eau Couture... you and me,.. what happened!?

*sigh*

I finally got my hands on a huge and expensive bottle of this, but there is just something off-putting and sickening here that I didn't get the last time (when I wrote a raving review). I had anticipated finally getting to use this gorgeous perfume, but it made me sick and I ended giving it away. I did get whiffs of what I once loved about it, but I kind of suspect there is something in this that has gone bad. No one seems to notice but me *shrugs*, but being discontinued and all... just a heads up, if my chemistry and nose hasn't changed tremendously, there might be a chance this is prone to turn :(

Wednesdaychild41

So this was a blind buy. . I'm getting really naughty for that lately.

Loved the classy bottle, and the simple notes seemed safe.

At first spray, I instantly wrote it off as a smell I'd never wear since I hate jasmin and other white floral scents (migraine inducing for me).
However. . . The dry down became more mellow, and that green almond seems to soften the base of it. The scent refused to let me give up. . Intrigue took over.

Sniff. . Mmmm interesting. Sniff, do I actually like it now. Sniff getting more almond. A few more sniffs, and I went and sprayed more!!!

Something got me. It's creamy. It's green. It's fresh. It's extremely feminine. Yes, it's won me over.

It's a lovely white T shirt or even wedding scent.

Thumbs up thankfully.

cocogirl96

This is my first blind buy. This is a fresh scent, but it's not green at all. I really like it, but not obsessed. For some reason, I smelled ginger and cantaloupe/honeydew when I first experienced it. I smelled the almond after I read the notes, but I still smell ginger and cantaloupe along with vanilla. I don't get orange blossom at all. Maybe it's the scent mixed with my body chemistry.

BTW, the sillage is garbage. Once you spray it, it pretty much disappears immediately. It lasted on me for a bit, but I had to practically bury my nose into my skin to smell it. Basically, it performs like bath &body works perfumes. That's a nono for a luxury perfume. This is why I give it a 7/10. If it was stronger, I'd give it an 8 or 9 out of 10 because I really like the scent.

Edit: My mom says she smells it prefectly well on me, so I think my nose just got used to it too quickly.

Edit # 2: My mom says she also smells ginger and honeydew, so this is not my nose betraying me.

vlarya

While the liquid is green and it has l'eau in the name, it is not a green scent at all. It's like a slightly fresher gourmand, but only fresh because of the tangerine. Lot's of vanilla and almond in it, and in place of orange blossom, I smell its nectar. All the other Le Parfum flankers have honey in it and I was very surprised to see this one hasn't, because I can definitely smell that as well.

Solinari

I didn’t like it. I received as gift. It isn’t actually a fragrance that I would buy so I gave it away. Not my cup of tea.

colibri_classique

Really lovely scent. It stays close to the skin. Good longevity on cold weather - up to 6 hours on my skin. Would definitely buy again. I have a 50ml bottle now, but I'll get a 90ml soon. The entire Le Parfum collection is just beautiful. I use it especially on cold weather, because it seems they perform better on my skin.

Đỗ.thảo

Update: When I spray more the scent didn’t disappear on my skin but it’s very light , like skin scent
Rose and honey, but fresher and lighter than the Le Parfum

Đỗ.thảo

Put this on for 2 minutes and it’s gone
The smell is not really my jam, too

Chainani

Hi @SaraX thank you for your help. Yes i decided to return the perfume because it hardly stayed for an hour. The website refused to provide with a replacement so i opted for refund. If its true then it's really sad to know that leau couture is discontinued :( I will try to find a newer batch.

SaraX

Hi Chainani (below),

This scent does indeed have the habit of turning yellow (from mint green) after some time. It's perfectly normal and doesn't mean that you have received a fake. However, it does mean that the liquid inside your bottle is not very fresh, so you could go back to the seller asking them to send you a fresher bottle from a newer batch (this might be difficult though, since I think this scent has been discontinued and they may not have any newer bottles in stock).

Further, this is pretty much a skin scent on me, so if the scent is acting like that on your skin, it doesn't mean that there's something wrong with it.

I hope this is of help to you.

Chainani

I just blind bought this perfume online. But when i opened the package the juice color isn't mint green! it's a yellowish liquid. The website i ordered from assures the authenticity of the perfume and it smells good but i'm confused whether i should return it or not. Also if anyone can tell me about the sillage and longevity? Is it more of a skin scent? Please help!

ericah12345

I adore this perfume. It's an elegant choice any time of the year. A yummy concoction of white flowers and fragrant, sweet almond. Like walking through an almond orchard after rain.

EDIT: My reply to Chainani (above): As SaraX also said, this perfume does indeed turn yellow after some time. Mine was minty laguna green when I bought it but after 6 months or so it turned yellowish. However, I haven't noticed any changes in the scent.
On me, the longevity is quite good, two sprays last well up to 8 hours and the sillage is on the heavy side.

Soulfully Yours

This is a beautiful scent. I had the 30ml purse size and I really really enjoyed using this. Won't be repurchasing anytime soon though. Great for a touch of freshness during travel.
I wish I hadn't thrown the bottle out.

SaraX

This is my favourite from Elie Saab together with Le Parfum In White. The two are not alike though: this one is more delicate and classy, while In White is more playful and fun.

Very delicate, classy and elegant scent. More than sweet, this is fresh, light and bright on my skin, yet not an aquatic or ozonic scent, but a scent with a sweet and almondy floral heart in it.

This scent also has a cool tone to it, which always gets me. And the bottle is gorgeous: classic, elegant and timeless, just like the scent inside.

shusha

It's an interesting perfume but not for me. It's just too sharp if that makes any sense. It's spicy and sweet but to the point of being bitter. Definitely not for me, it's missing a bit of zest, but I can appreciate its uniqueness.

RoseSoul

I expected something sweeter, but I like it. It's pretty unique but linear and it doesn't make a statement in terms of longevity and projection. It's like a tea.

I would choose another Orange blossom for my wardrobe, something a little bit stronger like Classique Essence or maybe Roberto Cavalli Eau de Parfum.

FabulouslyLazy

I've been missing L'Eau Couture too much, so I've just repurchased it! I don't care if it's October- these are my 500 days of summer in a bottle!!!

rissy200

Lovely, light and airy. Low sillage and weak longevity but L'eau Couture has the beautiful note of green almond.

MWROMO

Fantastic fragrance, three sweet and well balanced notes that compliment each other very well. Smooth, elegant and easy to wear scent. This is exactly what I was expecting from Elie Saab...beautiful in its simplicity, elegant yet amazing.

Review after week: This is a very unique fragrance...it wears down to this sweet, crispy and very pleasant smell....and I love it. It follows me all day long and by the evening it is still there. What a pleasant experience. I sprayed it on at 8am and by the 10pm I could still smell it radiating from my neck. What a gem.

lamuchu

@ezrarey: Mine turned yellow too, I think it's due to some colorant that has a rapid process of decay during time. My bottle was about 6 to 10 months when I first noticed this fact with huge disappointment. Anyway, the perfume still smells great. Obvoiusly the beauty of the package gets partially ruined as the liquid loses that so pretty aquamarine blue, but.. Is a mere aesthetic aspect.

autumn_bug

I remember loving it so much when it first came out ! Bought it on sale for an amazingly killer price. A clean, fresh and green fragrance for the most part with a crisp sweetness to it. Coy, elegant, great to wear on a bright spring day, bringing out the best in this perfume ! Beautiful sillage and good longevity ! Even though I stopped wearing it a long time ago, I still keep it for the gorgeous bottle and the hope that one day I will love it again the way I first did before too many others came in the way.

peppermoon

This scent is pretty and innocent, and smells of candied almonds, honeysuckle nectar and the orange blossom/rose/honey from Elie Saab's Le Parfum. I bought a bottle of this when it was on sale, because I loved the almond note and the beautiful celadon green color of the perfume. But after owning it for a while.... I rarely use it. I think it's just far too sweet for me (and I love gourmands). I should probably swap or sell. Good sillage, average longevity.

ezrarey

Mine turns yellowish from green color ...

Mbrock

This is very pretty. It smells like lemon & cream when I first spray it then dries down to a creamy orange blossom. Im not in love with it but it is a very pretty, creamy, different perfume. I dont think anyone would be sorry if they bought this. Longevity was nice at about 6 hours & sillage was perfect medium.

Jmalone84

Orange blossoms, vanilla and almond blossom. It really is all those things. Hint of Elie Saab le parfum except with a warm cosiness to it.

Soft, yet projects just enough to make itself felt. Unexpected purchase; found on sale today. Glad I have it. Love this fragrance.

Definitely signature material, as I have a fondness for almond blossom. It means 'warm and cosy', for me.

Kissable is the word. Love this.

Also, I love the description. Encompasses this perfectly, spot on.

magdalena81.1

Tried this a while ago and thought it was a little interesting. Now when my shelf is filled with all sorts of gems this came to my mind again so I gave it a try at the store. I´ve definitely changed my mind. Been looking for a fresh perfume but this isn´t filling that gap, at least not on my skin. Tried it first at a tester strip and then on my wrist and after 1 hour I couldn´t wait to scrub it off. I felt 20 years older ( I´m in my late 30´s now) and it got very powdery and floral. It´s not all bad, not just for me. Too bad on that gourgeous bottle and wonderful color I dreamt of having on my shelf! Well, the search continues…

YoshikuniAkino

It's a little bit hard for me to describe this perfume. It's kind of in between of creaminess and spiciness, very feminine. It opens a little overwhelming but soon becomes softer, dries down in a pleasant vanilla scent. I could say it's unique and interesting enough to be a satisfying buy for me. It's likely that I won't repurchase it but I am happy I did try it. Maybe I will look into other Elie Saab perfumes.

fer_heinschalle

When I first sprayed this perfume it reminded me another one that I have, but I couldn't remember exactly, so I looked it up and I found the twin brother, J'adore Voile

SailorV

This smells just like the notes of green almond, orange blossom and vanilla suggest. It's important that the almonds are GREEN though. L'Eau Couture is a bittersweet spring floral, not a warm heavy gourmand.

It opens with a very refreshing orange blossom and citrus notes and a poisonously green almond. It's a bit creamy, too.
In the drydown, the vanilla becomes stronger. Unfortunately, I think the vanillic sweetness makes it a bit boring after some hours, even though it still smells good - the opening is just much more unique and interesting, and the drydown a bit too simple.
I have tested this in different temperatures and I think it preserves its freshness when it's a bit colder, while it dries down to an average vanilla-almond too quickly when it's warmer. There's really a noticeable difference, so I wouldn't recommend it for hot summer days.

CathSvila

Francis Kurkdjian is a sorcerer when it comes to orange flower. This series for Elie Saab is universally beautiful, and this nutty wonder is simply sublime. Upon first attempt, I didn't think I liked this one, but knew I had to revisit it, considering how much I loved Le Parfum and Intense. I'm glad I did; this frag is a stunning addition to the series - different enough to warrant a full bottle, yet still carrying that gorgeous orange DNA. Three simple notes, masterfully mixed so they absolutely sing together.
Perfect for Spring and Summer, I think this is an underrated gem, destined for a permanent position in my fragrance rotation.

dglightblue

@fabulouslylazy cheers, I got such a fright, I loved that green colour, now it looks like the elie Saab edp :(
It’s funny it did that, I’ve kept it cool, in a dark place too. It smells the same, perhaps slightly not as pronounced as when new, not gone off though. Bah humbug.

Thanks.

I’ve also noted that viktor and Rolf flowerbomb goes dark too

FabulouslyLazy

@dglightblue: hi there, yes it does change. It never happened to me personally because I've always opted for the 30ml bottle but I saw a yellow-ish color juice at Sephora and other stores. The sample bottles were the bigger ones so most likely the change in color is due to time and light exposure. Unfortunately I can't comment on longevity & sillage because I don't know if this change affects the quality of the scent. The smell on the blotter was the same.

dglightblue

Hi, can anyone comment as to why this perfume might change colour?
Mine might be about 6months old but it’s gone from the pretty delicate green juice to a shade similar to the original... the scent is the same...
Thanks

Chrysolaga

Amazing fragrance to me. I think the Orange Blossom is the most prominent with just a touch of almond. This fragrance reminds me a lot of Nest's Verde with the same prominent green notes, but this lasts longer on the skin. I think, if you like White Florals with lots of green notes, you will love this.

mylene_stl

On me, it's a sharp, annoying scent. I don't smell nuts nor vanilla... A little bit of the orange blossom, but really faint. I don't know what it smells, but I really don't like it!

Brynn Penelope Harrell

I love the smell! French macarons with a hint of orange blossoms! Mom, my sisters and I love to wear it!

Nynke

I like this one. To me it smells sweet but fresh, and sharp but soft, somehow.
I think it's elegant and sophisticated and a nice change from the sweet gourmand stuff I often wear.

FabulouslyLazy

I've just finished my second bottle and I'm sure there'll be a third one. This is one of the most polite scents I've ever come across, impossible to repel people around me while wearing it. Even those who are ill-disposed are likely to become gentle. Makes me feel like some sort of Beatrice to Dante. Pure, ethereal love.

missk

L'Eau Couture by Elie Saab is a sheer, somewhat green and citrusy version of the original Le Parfum. I don't enjoy it quite so much as its predecessor, but I do understand its appeal.

I smell quite a bit of bergamot in this fragrance, followed by orange blossom and magnolia. It's very fresh and Summer appropriate on the skin just like the fragrance name and colour of the juice implies.

L'Eau Couture is a perhaps the most subtle fragrance from the Elie Sabb collection, and the most green too. The almond in L'Eau Couture is not as sweet as I'm used to smelling, it's more powdery and delicate, even a touch green. It's unfortunate that the almond note is only noticeable towards the end stage of the drydown.

I would group L'Eau Couture in a similar category to Versace's Versense and Chanel's Chance Eau Fraiche and Cristalle Eau Verte. All these fragrances sell extremely well during the warmer seasons, and I predict that L'Eau Couture will too. It's an easy crowd pleaser and a safe fragrance choice for women that don't like anything overtly heavy or in-your-face.

Kath Grace

This fragrance could potentially be very pretty but there is definately something to these bug spray comparisons. Not sure what it is?? The fragrance is pleasant enough, pleasant being the key word, but there is something (for lack of a better word) weird about it. I actually considered buying it but could not get past the "weird".

laura22

Yes! I blind bought this and I do like it but something stops me from loving it - now I remember thanks to fraglove0291 - it smells like vapona fly spray!

boannika

Got this today, it smells exactly like an almond based liquid soap i used to have, i believe it was a part of the Palmolive Naturals line. The almond is clean and fresh and a bit powdery ( actually, i'm quite sure a lot of people won't perceive it as an almond scent at all) Absolutely recommended for hot summer days. It doesn't smell perfumey, if that makes sense, you'll smell like you just showered using a fresh, beautiful scented body wash. I like it very much so far, yet i'm not surprised, everything from E. Saab is a winner in my book.

minag

As others have noted, this fragrance features a captivating duality; it's at once fresh and powdery comfort. It's neither too strong nor too soft, neither too sweet nor too flowery. It's just right. It's all these things in perfect balance. I can't see myself suffocating anyone with this scent in any weather conditions (I've worn it in 37C and just felt perfectly clean smelling...no nauseating sweetness) and I find myself loving it! Freshness and comfort at its finest! If this perfume were a girl, she would be wearing a cute white dress with Converse sneaks.

Neckromancer

This is two fragrances at once. There's the citrusy component that's sort of sharp(but only a little), with an Elizabeth Arden Green tea type freshness. Then there's the dry, slightly dusty sweet almost playdoh-y almond. These two scents are sitting on top of each other and they come at your nose at the same time. It's weird, but I feel like people who enjoy Guerlain's Shalimar Parfum Initial would like this. It has a similar vibe, but less luxe and less powdery. This is pretty easy to wear and longevity is not too bad. The orange blossom is more like a citrusy neroli and it dries down in the first hour, leaving the mildly powdery almond behind on the skin. It's a very motherly scent in my opinion. It reminds me of Snow White or Cinderella before the ball gown. A simple, gentle beauty.
It has nothing to do with Elie Saab Le Parfum.

schmicles

This perfume really stood out for me as I was browsing (hunting) for my next perfume. The salesgirl kept recommending me generic flowery and indistinguishable perfume, some disappearing after 10 mins (looking at you, Prada). She was showing me us out of the store, all three of us disappointed, when we passed by a slightly hidden shelf of Eli Saab perfumes.

The salesgirl sprayed it on a card, all she described was 'it smells like almonds.', which is not common for countries near the equator. And the card smelled so different from anything I had smelled. The bottle made me expect a clean shower scent like Aqua Di Gioia, but it was mellow!

Then she sprayed it on my wrist (which I had reserved only for perfumes worthy of consideration). At first it smelled clean, then as it dried down, the soft milky almond became one with me. Both my husband and I were in heaven. He likes all things almond, but to me, almond milk and almond-anything except for the nuts just taste and smells like fragrant plastic. Too fragrant.

But Eli Saab. I was still in heaven when we reached home hours later.
It's a soft and non-offensive perfume IMO, definitely not trying to overpower anyone else in the train. Such a unique scent.
Though I have to say, on my skin it reminds me of Hypnotic Poison, subdued sweet milk, only this is slightly more floral and fragrant.

ssaminn

The notes looked promising and my test on paper smelled nice and intriguing and there was something very unique about it.

BUT, unfortunately on my skin the musk, which I hate as a note, develops a lot and it smelled really SOAPYYYY on me. Ughhhhhh.
If you don't like soapiness, beware! But if you like it, great! Good for you.

I'm gonna have to keep searching for good summer perfumes that Don't smell like soap and musk. Wish me luck!

erinnute

One of my favourites, I'm on my second bottle. Top notes are citrusy and fresh, with a soft dry-down of almond and vanilla.

leila_mic

I ordered this perfume blindly 2 years ago in autumn
It is the first perfume I ever finished! I love the creamy-ness in it, the warmth and summer vibe I recall evverytime I wear it
It is summer and sunny days in a bottle
Despite being a little pricier in our country, it's worth a full big bottle for day-wear, from spring to autumn
Ever in cold days I love wearing it!
(I feel it has the same warmth and creamy-ness as I feel in Orchid Soleil, TF)

celia46

Very creamy, extremely easy to wear. The style of fragrance I would wear if I'm going to be very close to someone. It's an invitation to intimacy.

socorrosouza

Try Stay Positive from Benetton, has the same longevity (5 to 7 hours) and resembles Elie Saab EdT on my skin. I wear it in the Brazilian summer as I wouldn't waste my Elie Saab EdT.Quite a nice perfume and such a moderate price.

evacecilias

Well I have already dismissed this once, but why ?
Since my fav, the edt is nowhere to find anymore. This is my alternative, since the edp is to sweet and heavy for me...
With the fact that this has only got three notes (???)
it sure has a great balance !
This is greener and more, crisp than the edt but still has the same vibe...I'm glad I decided to smell it again last weekend at Frankfurt airport, and Thank you Monica my friend (Mooniq) for a great buy !

dglightblue

Main accords look right
This is a summer test, so it's very humid here

I am impressed with the longevity so far, I have the rose couture also, which is much sweeter, and I'd love it to last as long as the l'eau couture one.

The which floral aspect is cooler, but on a whole the perfume is rounded and Luke warm.
The floral I liken to idylle by guerlain, Michael kors Michael but there's not slightly bitter Jasmine in there which is good.
I've not got many experiences to draw from in terms of almond or nutty, though if I imagine I'm eating nuts I can see the similarity.
Subtle sweet, this isn't a sugar bomb, for me a sweet sweet frag is maybe victor and Rolf which loads of people have.

It's just a feeling but this feels watery and fresh rather than thick and heavy, the accords are right, I don't get a fresh note perse, it's just a feeling.

Overall I am pleased

akashia76

Blind purchased based on the reviews, and unfortunately not a hit for me.
It is way way too sweet as if I'm sticking my nose over a bowl of powered sugar.
Quite honestly, the overwhelmingly sweet scent makes my stomach queasy.

Mdox407

Very straight up fragrance. It smells exactly as you would think with the above listed notes.

Vanilla, orange blosson, almond. Smells clean and sweet, I voted for it giving it a solid like but if I'm being honest, the original Elie Saab Le Parfum is much superior to this one.

This fragrance is deff unique, I've never smelled anything like it before but there's just something about this that keeps it from being a love for me.

Overall, nice scent. I consider this a safe blind buy, it's a very pretty bottle and would be a good option for a gift.

Performance also, is most definitely nothing to complain about.

Longevity - About 6-7 hours and unlike a lot of fragrances, not a lot of sprays are needed to achieve this.

Projection - About 3 feet.

Overall Score - 7.5/10

Caramelkisses

Intoxicating blend of vanilla, almond and orange blossom that leaves a lovely trail.

PastelMoon

How can anything so light can be so... really quite repulsive?

I received it as a gift and really was excited about this lovely pastel green bottle. I hoped for a fresh white floral. What I got is something light yet sickening sweet and a bit salty-bitter.It gave me a strong physical reaction - made me dizzy and it made my stomach turn. I am rarely that senstive!

Reminds me Lolita Lempicka's repertoire. I guess my chemistry doesn't blend well with almond notes. Strange, because I love the actual nut and its products (marzipan, etc.)

Not green, not soapy, not fresh, not elegant just a very light sweetish skin scent with a bit an undertone of... vomit. Gosh!

scain54

After I promised myself, "NO MORE blind buys!", I bought this - blindly. I had my eye on it for a while, and the notes sounded SO beautiful! No place to test it, so I plunged ahead. Yellow florals are more my taste, but the devil whispered in my ear......so, CLICK! Added to shopping cart.

At first spray, though, I thought it was a scrubber. It opened with a blast of cloying, almost nauseating sweetness. Ugh! Major overload of heavy vanilla and orange blossom in my face! But then after 10 minutes, it started to develop into something just wonderful. The almond came forth (and I could swear some pistachio), and the sweetness mellowed out nicely. Still rather a sweet scent, but the notes are so nicely mingled, and it's quite creamy and nutty in the drydown.

It's a cold, snowy day here in NYC. I have a feeling this would be just wonderful (if applied lightly) in the warmer weather. Very good sillage, and I feel that it's going to have a great longevity, too.

All in all, I'm glad I got it!

nihalhel

This perfume smells like pureness... it's perfect for warm weather... love it!

Littlegrassstraw

There is something I love about this, the lightness and freshness that comes in a comforting sweet hug. However when wearing it,the sweethug just stays indefinitely and eventually bores, eventually annoys me. I used to not get how this is too sweet as compared to the other elie saabs, now I understand. It is because the others have enough other notes to contain the sweetness. This one is like a lovely seeming pistachio icecream that ends up sadly being only sweet, no real nut taste. A scent for sweet gourmand lovers I guess.

gabkins

I bought some samples about a year ago after spontaneously deciding I needed a signature scent. ;) I'd never been all that into perfumes previously... but after reading many reviews to decide on something that might work, and after several other samples, I tried L'eau Couture and I'm so glad I did.

I love that the color of the juice matches so well with the vibe of the scent. It might even be that beautiful color that makes me smell pistachio rather than almond.

The pistachio and white flowers are held beautifully in the vanilla. This is a simple yet sophisticated scent. Very feminine.

dyaver

One cannot dislike this fragrance. It's so light, pure and soothing. Sweet, but never cloying. Better for warmer months, but can be worn in fall, too. Don't go for it if you are looking for somehing sexy, bold or provocative. Go for it if you want to feel clean, dreamy and innocent.

mishlava3000

This is lightness of being in a bottle.

Energizing and light as chiffon. Almost menthol like freshness, that my nose wants to liken to spearmint but there is definitely no spearmint here. Its so unique and dignified.

I love the green almond, it has a rounding effect on the bergamont/magnolia/orange blossom, as though they were floating in almond milk. Though those notes arent listed on Fragrantica. The scent is of the very first flower buds, with their green sepals only just holding the petals in place.

I think this is what Cate Blanchett as Galadriel, in the Lord of the Rings, would smell like. A woman with poise and gentle sophistication without being worldly or having lost her delicate charm.

Initially this perfume confused me and I wasnt sure of what I was smelling, so it may take a couple of wears to appreciate. It has medium longevity on my skin and has a breezy vanilla close.

If your body chemistry sits better with warmer fragrances, this may not be for you but it is definitely worth sampling at the department store because to miss this experience, and it work on your skin, would be a real shame.

PrissyCurls

Oh how I love this fragrance!!!!
Even though I love the edt version, I love this even more. It's has the typical orange flower note but its smoothed out by the creamy almond/vanilla accord.

I absolutely love it and I can see myself wearing this during the winter as a nice little pick me up when the cold weather has me feeling a little depressed.

In comparison to the edt version this is creamy whereas the edt is a little tangy/sharp but still absolutely lovely:-D

I'm glad I have both in my collection. I actually ordered a backup up bottle of L'eau Couture.

Also, the hubby likes this more than the edt!!!!

Update-longevity is 8 hours and counting with moderate sillage:-D

artisy

Can anyone tell me the difference between this one and the Elie Saab EDT? Like, are they different enough to justify me purchasing the EDT as well?

This was a blind buy for me but I'm very happy with it. Sweet, fresh, green and white flowers.

I'm a huge fan of Burberry Brit EDT which is almond, white florals, vanilla, and lime. It's very comforting and cozy to me. This is like the fashionable aunt that dresses in Couture. Basically, I now have Brit for casual coziness and L'eau Couture for delightful sophistication.

ReyMoe

I really Love it ♥ I can't define exactly what I'm smelling
but it is so fresh and green something like lime but sweeter. and when my sister put it it smells Jasmines on her ♥
On the other hand I can't feel the vanilla on it.

Jillzilla

As a lover of almond, orange blossom, and vanilla, I knew I wanted to test this scent, even though strictly floral perfumes often don't perform well on my chemistry.

The opening is a sweeter than the heart, but also a little green and bitter. The bitterness softens, the sweetness subsides a little, and the green-almond combined with the orange blossom strangely creates a creamy lily of the valley-like scent on my skin, so it feels more like a modern, creamy floral-green, but I do not specifically detect almond OR orange blossom in the top notes or heart phase. So here, it is just too headache-inducing for me, since I do not enjoy (and my chemistry is uncooperative with) strong lily of the valley notes.

The dry down is amazing to me. I wish I could separate it from the rest of the scent and bottle it on its own. It smells like warm, creamy, pillowy, sweet (but not sugary) almond and vanilla. Usually "floral" perfumes die off in the base notes for me, but the base of L'eau Couture radiates warm vanilla-almond with impressive strength.

Longevity was about 4 hours for me, and I think the color of the perfume matches the scent perfectly!

polkadot27

Beautiful Fresh zingy citrus with nutty almond undertones. I have never experienced a scent like this. I have to give it credit for being totally unique. It is one of my favorites in my collection I could easily wear this all day every day of the year. It is perfect for every season. It is feminine and classy and elegant. It is uplifting- this scent puts me in such a good mood and I feel happy whenever I smell this. This is definitely one of those I will repurchase when it runs out. I like how it is both casual and classy and feminine you could wear it for a stroll along the beach or wear it for a wedding. It's a safe perfume but not a boring one. It has feminine intrigue and a grace and class that makes it multi-dimensional- I love it!

This is so pure, feminine and graceful. Still, I'm not in love with it. I think I was expecting (and hoping for) a more prominent almond. On me, this mainly smells of orange blossom with a tiny hint of soft sweetness at the end. It's fresh, crisp, classy, clean - gives me the feeling of an outdoor garden wedding.

It's lovely, but not magnificent. I think I will try it again next spring and summer - that's probably when it would be the most fitting. :)

Eesa

I blind bought this for a steal on clearance, and now that I know what it smells like, I would gladly have paid full price. This is one of my top perfumes ever. Simple notes, but the scent is to die for. Orange blossom can go wrong for me when it's super sweet and powerful, but the green almond is so perfect. It turns it into a super fresh, exquisite floral. This scent can be worn anytime and anywhere. It is definitely a go-to scent for me, and is on my top 5 shelf for a reason. It's just perfect.

ellementira

This ended up not being the perfect almond fragrance I'm looking for, but it is really lovely. I get a big orange blossom note on my skin, softened and rounded. It reminds me a lot of the soap my Great-Grandma had in her home, and the hot summers spent there. I've been wearing it for that scent-memory comfort, but unfortunately it doesn't last very long on me, a few hours. It's a "soft" fragrance to me and smells more white than green... perfect for comforting the wearer.

anikomarton

For me, this is THE ZEN fragrance which embodies the pureness with its light veil but which at the same time makes you want to munch on its delicious notes.
A very beautiful harmony!

thehazysea

I'm generally a person who feels that there can't be too much of a good thing -- I'll hose myself down with my favorite fragrances and never feel overwhelmed (the people in my vicinity may not agree but dems da breaks I guess) and come back for more the next night.

I am more discerning during office hours, however, and used two modest sprays of the clean and inoffensive L'Eau Couture one morning. And boooooy was I taught a thing or two - this is a beast of a creamy white floral with tons of sweet almond. Projects like crazy and lasts a solid 8 hours. I washed it off when I started to annoy myself and still got a comment that whatever that smell was "is nice...it's just a lot". For once, I agree.

FabulouslyLazy

My only regret with this perfume is that I didn't get the 90ml bottle. A great fragrance by Elie Saab, so well-crafted, so feminine and graceful.

blake.lee

I don't like this at all. Smells like watery licorice on me which is a really weird description, but the thing I can relate it to.

zuleikarega

Long ago I've smelled this perfume sprayed on a strip, given away when it was launched. Since then it has been sitting in my to-buy-list and I finally got it yesterday, without ever smelling it again after that one time.
First of all, do they change the formula or something..? I remember liking it because it was green and fresh and floral and lovely and oh i wanted it so bad. But smelling it on my wrist now..Its so sweet. Its not bad, but certainly different from what I remember. Its borderline too sweet for my liking. Maybe its dofferent because its on my skin or something but I gotta say I'm a bit bummed.

If, you like sweet floral scent that is long lasting and smells expensive, you'd love this one. Really. I do like it but maybe it wouldn't be my daily perfume like I originally planned. I'd wear this occasionally when I want a touch of sweetness.

mschnabel666

I feel like I owe this another review. This was my first Elie Saab, blind buy.... and since then I have all the Le Parfums... Intense, EDP, EDT, and Couture.

This is a lovely addition to the Le Parfum family, and there is no doubt it's related to the EDT. The heart is there, however this one is greener, fresher, and lighter.

This one isn't quite my thing, since I love Le Parfum for the honey-floral-sweetness. But it's a lovely addition to Le Parfum! I wish this was creamier, and more gourmand with the nutty notes, but I knew it would be fresh, and not foodie.
Still smells like vanilla grass, but I wear it in the daytime here and there, and enjoy the fresh uplifting, easy scent during the day. Lasts all day too.

From Elie Saab's website:

top notes: Calabrian Bergamot, Magnolia
heart notes: Orange Blossom
base notes: Green Almond, Vanilla

I love it. It was my coveted perfume last year but I picked Issey Miyake Pleats Please L'eau edt for fresher scent during summer. This fragrance is delicate and classy. It has similarity with Issey but more posh and very seductive. To be honest I'm not a fan of vanilla note and I can smell it from this fragrance but it smells very nice.
I can smell vanilla with jasmine and a hint of honey but it is not similar to the body shop honey mania. I agree that a review said, the original edp had richer and stronger honey scent. If I could describe it...
It has the seductive scent of Chanel Allure edp blended with the freshness and softness of Issey Miyake Pleats Please L'eau edt.
So it is pretty similar to Chanel Allure edt. Fresh, clean, crisp, soft yet rich and seductive.

FabulouslyLazy

This is gonna be my summer signature! I was looking for an elegant perfume I don't smell on every single woman I bump into, and so I went for L'Eau Couture. I've been testing it for a while and I've come to the conclusion that it's real love. Orange blossom is the dominant note, but as other reviews point out, it smells similar to jasmine - pure and natural jasmine. To enhance the almond, I layer it with almond oil and the result is just perfect. Vanilla is there and you can perceive it as the binding element. Just three notes that work together with a stunning result. L'Eau Couture doesn't smell chemical at all, naturalness is definitely one of its virtues. Amazing performance too.

maltatude

This is simply lovely, jasmine (like you would find in nature) with orange blossom - light and sweet and leaves a beautiful trail.

Jasmin Rouge has been on my list of scents to buy for a long time, I am very happy to have this as an alternative, it offers more than just jasmin infused green tea.

Mooniq

Second bottle, On my skin this one doesn't work in summertime. Hot weather makes this one smell sharp and synthetic on my skin. But in colder weather its a true beauty. Love the Almond and Orange blossom - mix. Light and airy but there for many hours. A keeper.

Andra flaskan.

polkadot27

This is beautiful, it really is lovely. I would never have guessed almond was the top and main note in this fragrance. the orange blossom orange flowers dominate in this scent for me- it is beautiful fresh and citrus sweet. It is impossible to dislike this scent. I do detect lashings of jasmine as a base note in this scent. I think this is my favourite out of all the Elie Saab fragrances I have tried so far. Perfect for spring and summer. I can imagine it being good for autumn too as it has a freshness and crispness about it that will be beautiful in cool air. To me the almond in this is the nutty base notes with lashings of jasmine built on top dominated by orange blossom/ orange flowers. It is a classy oriental citrus sweet perfume for me. It reminds me a little of the cartier range- it has the same luxurious feel as their fragrances but slightly more demure and much more citrus sweet. I think of hollidays in the country side and long late night evening walks through the meadows. I have just ordered this online, it is too good not to buy, even though it is a little pricey, i think it is worth it. It is expensive and luxurious in feel, yet has an innocence about it. I love this perfume, i cannot wait till it arrives and is mine to treasure!

Just plunge your face into a bunch of white jasmine on the vine. That's this perfume. I love it! I've never made friends with orange blossom in fragrances, So i believe Mr. Kirkdjian has arranged the ingredients to arrive at a true fresh breezy natural -- as in it's how jasmine smells out in nature -- Jasmine! It is just the essence of heaven in my opinion. Wear it when Jasmine is in bloom, and you will see.

FabulouslyLazy

Honey is missing, yet I get a honey-like feeling that reminds me of the original Elie Saab. On my skin it's very sweet but it's also perfect for the summer; it lingers and at the same time there's something that keeps it from being overpowering. Very elegant and a real compliment-getter. I love it. I want it!

Siv7Stars

Quite similar to Bvlgari Jasmin Noir L'eau Exquise.

Jmalone84

This is really lovely, and I think I may want it, just don't know if it is my style. It seems to me very white floral, but in an almost (aquatic?) way that is difficult to describe. I wonder if this could become a modern classic. I almost thought tuberose? except a subdued tuberose. But I see now that it is supposedly a different facet of orange blossom.

The only thing is, it is much too soft for me. When I have an almond blossom/floral perfume (my beloved The Different Company's 'Pure Eve') I like to wear it at home. But this is meant to be dressier. It is too elegant to be a cosy wear-at-home sort of perfume so I am not sure if this could have a place in my collection. When I want to feel elegant and beautiful I wear my signature Chanel Allure Sensuelle- which as some might know is a strongly projecting head turner.
I imagine this would be nice for a super classy chic lady with a smaller collection for work wear, this is office friendly and very pretty/modern. The longevity is on the 3-4 hour mark on the moderate scale, not very long lasting but just enough. And like I said it is soft. But lovely, the epitome of good taste this one.

hsheep

I did not expect to like this as I'm not the biggest fan of other Elie Saab fragrances, but there's something so smooth about this one - I'm guessing it's the vanilla since I'm a huge vanilla nut ;)

I'd say this one falls in line with other perfumes that sort of smell common-place or generic, like nice hairspray or lotion. I get this in the initial spritz, but then it mellows out to a smooth and creamy pistachio scent (though not gourmand). It has a nutty, green quality to it and the vanilla just makes it so creamy and milky. This one doesn't screech perfume on my skin, it settles in warmly and softly. It's an office friendly sort of fragrance and it doesn't wow me so much, but I think it stands out among other common scented perfumes due to its creaminess. I'll be testing this one much more this spring and summer.

ivlia

Since I love the feeling of being swept off my feet and since recently I have completely lost my head for Elie Saab Le Parfum Intense, I expected another coup de foudre. It didn't happen and I envy the ones that were luckier than me... Unfortunately, I find Eau Couture a bit nauseating; the faint note of almonds makes me feel quasy. I still like it, but definitely do not feel like buying a full bottle.

I am not giving up though - still wearing the juice from the sample, hoping it will grow on me... I truly think that Francis Kurkdjian is a genius and I just need to learn how to appreciate this fragrance. Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Vanian

Everything is already said in its advertisement: Chic and elegant! Simple! It seems that this one will be my new 'love affair' for the forthcoming spring.

Soofiya

After elie saab edt this one is my next spring/summery elie saab love
Pretty, clean, refreshing, smells just like an expensive hand washing gel which I die for it
Vanilla and almond are not gourmandish here, almond is green and fresh, vanilla is creamy and not supersweat or warm and there is a touch of orange blossom as a elie saab signature
Reminds me jpg classique edp,but a younger, more wearable and easy to like version of it,replaces the rose not of classique with a green, fresh note and I find this one powdery too, difficult to explain how something could be powdery and milky the same time, but actually this one is
If you want to smell clean and fresh also sexy and not girlish during spring and summer, elie saab edt and this lovely smooth green couture are there for you

Madrona

Vanilla-almond goodness with the white floral sharpness of orange blossom. Minty green without actual mint. Definitely a pleasing fragrance. I see this as something as unusual as a winter-spring scent, it is crisp like white luxurious hotel sheets. I have no idea what the original smells like but I would not mind adding a fullsize of this to my collection.

EDIT: Okay, this is addictive. I keep wanting to spritz this all over myself but at the same time I don't want to run out... time to get a bottle.

LisaLovesPerfume

Lovely fragrance. It is not very heavy, yet makes a statement. It is warm without being overwhelming. I did not get a heavy almond note. It is a rich, voluptuous fragrance without being a sillage monster. This is a very nice scent for day wear, although it could transition to nighttime wear. L'eau is a well made fragrance that is enjoyable to wear.

mschnabel666

I blind bought this because of my love for gourmands, almonds/nuts, sweeties, vanillas, etc...
I've never tried an Elie Saab before.

Oh. Okay? This is very fresh, clean and light. It has long, but soft, lasting power. It's a LOT of green almond (not gourmandy almond of course, and I knew that) and fresh flower/green notes. Kind of like fresh grass and vanilla. It's not for me, but since I have it... I'll wear it in the summer, when I want a fresh clean, yet creamy scent that I don't have to think about. Long soft sillage/lasting will make it perfect for daytime/office wear. Crisp and elegant.

I wish I got more of the sweet/custard from other reviews.

However, I got a sample of Elie Saab INTENSE with this... and I'm kinda digging that!

PerfumedPrincess

I have literally received compliments on this fragrance all day long (10 hours). It is crisp, light, creamy, floral, and gourmand all at the same time. This is the best purchase I've made in quite a while. The opening was very crisp white floral and creamy almond milk. As it wore, the fragrance turned a bit sweeeter and softer.I rate it 9/10 only because it takes a little time to soften from the opening note. Longevity and sillage are incredible.

Jaycm

I thought I would love this based on the notes, and I did love it when I tested it on paper. On my skin however I didn't enjoy it so much, it became kind of overwhelming and I got tired of the smell. It has a kind of sticky cloying aspect. In terms of longevity, I could smell it for ~3-4 hours. This kind of smells like YSL Cinema to me, so if you like Cinema you might like this.

mirisfrik

A green liquid might make you think that it must be some kind of citrus perfume. But no. In contrary, no citrusy - sharp notes in here. It is very creamy and light perfume. Like fabric softener with creamy notes (Lenor almond or something like that). Perfume itself is very pleasant and non offensive. Lasting power: more than 5hr

tessaeastgate

Took me a while to try this, as I am not a fan of the original Elie Saab. I'm glad I finally walked back to the Elie counter this season. I don't even know what made me think this would be similar to Le Parfum.

This one has just the right sweetness, and the creaminess of the vanilla-almond is fantastic. This would be the closest I'm willing to go gourmand, though I wouldn't dare wear it during the hottest days here in Fiji. Not that I don't think it would work (I know people who can pull of sweet/gourmand in the height of summer), but I personally can't have vanilla very close to me when it's hot. Nevertheless, I would love to smell this on anyone else throughout the year.

I will definitely get my own bottle soon.

This is amazing! Light, sparkling... Just a touch of sweet Vanilla mixed with almond, and a bright citrus. Not as strong as the original but beautiful. A good alternative if you don't like the rose in the edt. Great for all occasions, any season... It's light but the Vanilla makes it wearable in the cold too.

Linaskye

I've been curious about the Elie Saab line of fragrances for quite some time because of the mixed reviews from different websites and also because I'm a big fan of Elie Saab's gowns that I've seen on different starlets and singers. Also, the description of L'eau Couture intrigued me. I haven't heard of many perfumes being "nutty", and I had a few France's K. Scents on my test list. Been broke lately, but my birthday is soon, and so I decided to treat myself to a sale bottle at Marshall's. The packaging is what made up my mind, as I love pale aqua blue, pale mint, etc., so all the factors meshed into a blind buy.

I both really enjoy AND dislike the fragrance. On my skin, it's super nutty once it dries down, but at the same time, it's always light and clean, which I like. The first notes are fabulously clear, watery (but not aquatic...aquatic always seems heavier to me than when I think of "watery"), and lightly floral. On a breeze, I'd catch this elegant but whimsical scent that never would overpower me or give me a headache. The middle of the fragrance did nothing for me, being way too nutty without the grace of the top (strange how I get the middle note first and then the almond top note). Then the final drydown was somewhere in the middle, smelling fantastic on my shirt, but not impressing on my skin.

What I would conclude from my observations is that it is a unique, light, interesting, classy fragrance that stokes my curiosity for the rest of the line. For my chemistry, this isn't necessarily one I will reach for very often, but I am still impressed. I will say that longevity is somewhere between 2-4 hours, and silllage starts as moderate and eventually dies down to a closer to the skin finish that's kind of but not completely undetectable to passersby. I can't wait to try Le Parfum Eau de Toilette, as I also purchased a box of three purse sprays. Check this one out for something different if you find nutty and vanilla smells to be your cup of tea.

Awater01

Palmolive used to make a moisturizing body wash in vanilla and almond oil that used to be my favourite till they stopped making it years ago. This has the same luxurious smell though I'd like to think it has a bit more quality given the brand difference. It's a comforting smell, clean and lovely. It's just as nice to spray on your scarf in winter as to warm your skin in summer. It has great lasting power, though on me the orange blossom disappears pretty quick leaving behind creamy vanilla almonds. Lasts longer on clothes.

gillbert

nice scent and easy to wear. perfect for daily wear. nice smooth vanilla. perfect for teenage and high school student.

sillage and longevity is moderate. also safe for blind buy.

L'eau Couture is a great every-day-scent. Starts a bit strong but softens down to a beautiful orange blossom scent with just a hint of vanilla. One of the best orange blossom-scents I tried so far in my life.

L'eau Couture är en fantastisk varje-dag-doft. Börjar lite kraftigt/starkt men mjuknar ner till en av de finaste apelsin-blom-dofter jag känt i mitt liv. Underbar, med bara en luftig aning om vanilj.

Peachysugarbuns

I almost blind bought L'Eau Couture because of the notes (the gorgeous, flowery-worded descriptions of their use are quite convincing!) and because of my love for Francis Kurkdjian. I didn't make the purchase and decided to test it on my skin first as it seems the fragrance seems to vary drastically from person to person.

My skin pulls sunny richness from these notes that reminds me a bit of Poeme, which I love. This scent splits into two when I smell it, which is captivating. The beginning of an inhale is all vanilla custard with powdery-sweet almond, and at the end of an inhale bright orange blossoms and a touch of greenery make a quick ascent through the creaminess to give the nose a little kiss. It settles into a creamy orange blossom scent - a nice mix of wearable and whimsical. The light green juice and packaging fits the "feel" of it.

I was going to go back and make the purchase that day because I liked L'eau Couture so much, but I decided to wait again. I'm glad I did. I found that I was tired of the fragrance after a day of wear (props to the longevity, though!) and each whiff I caught made me feel a little more over it than the time before. I'll try it again on a different day in different weather, but for now I'll wait on the purchase. Definitely give this scent a try before you buy. It could be your new favorite!

nerolette

Half the time I love this, half the time it's just...weird. When I love it it's because it's playful but sexy in an odd way - like a kitten playing dress-up? Or maybe like an older woman playing the part of sex kitten? It muddles old-fashioned notes with something distinctly immature. When I don't love it it's for the same reason, though - the old-fashioned/youthful balance is tricky. When it seems to work it's fun and quirky and delicious, but on first spray and on too-hot days it comes off all wrong, sticky and fake. I will certainly keep in in my wardrobe, but will only wear it on certain occasions.

Esperide

There's the sweetest note of dying spring in this original addictive green honeydew scent.
A beginning of bitter almond dissolving into intoxicating sweetness of orange blossoms and then into delicate creamy shades of honey and
hazelnut.
Very modest sillage.

In my opinion, this is the best of the Elie Saab range so far. This is a creamy, milky, nutty fragrance. I get the Orange Blossom and Green Almond immediately, it feels like the Vanilla lingers in the background, which gives it the milkiness I get. I really love this one. It's not as strong & almost 'in your face' like the original Elie Saab. I think you can wear this any time of the year, day or night :) It also lasts super long! I've been wearing it for 5 hours now - still there :)

When I first tried this the scent was so familiar, and I needed to find out where I had smelled it before.

Through the years I've been using the Palmolive almond hand wash. This smells exactly like that, and I couldn't be happier.

Clean, fresh, and creamy citrus with a hint of vanilla.

Longevity is excellent and sillage is perfect. You can smell it on yourself all day long and it's pretty uplifting. I do one spray on the chest and one on the neck. Any more than that could get cloying.

Guys shouldn't hesitate to try this, and if you enjoy the Palmolive I mentioned you'll absolutely like this.

I went to this psychologist, whom I don't think I'll ever forget. Her office was decorated so elegantly I thought I was in a high end book store in Paris or Rome. When she came in, wearing a fleeting maxi flower dress and flats, her nails painted in dark bordeaux, speaking very elegantly, she was so charismatic and smart, I instantly felt uplifted even in first 10 mins. There was a soothing vanilla smell coming from jo malone candles and a giant flower bouquet of white flowers on the table. When i smelled this the first time i liked it but i wasn't in love, but the second time i smelled it when a salesman gave me a test strip, i instantly thought of her, this was the aura in her office smelled like. I bought not only the perfume, but also the lotion. This is a character perfume, not something to sassy yourself up with. You smell it, you recognize it. It's also very natural smelling, not artificial at all. Yes, it is soapy, fresh, clean and sweet at the same time. I recommend it if you like jo malone florals or diptyque candles, not like coco mademoiselles or la vie est belles (which i own both).

This is my only Elie Saab fragrance, so I can't compare it to his others. I bought a sample because I love the scent of almonds, and I didn't notice any reviews saying that this one was a bitter almond at all. I fell in love and promptly ordered the 3 oz bottle.

This is a beauty. Almonds, the freshness of orange, and the light hint of vanilla. The end result is so much more than the individual notes themselves.

I was shocked to see one reviewer here say that she or he could not detect any almond. I spritzed this on and asked my husband what he thought. Now, mind you, he usually says, "It's okay." Nothing more.

But this time he said that it smells different, sort of nutty, and that he liked it. I praised him for detecting the actual note. :-)

For me, this is a fairly linear scent. What you first smell is what you get from then on. And this is a good thing.

The longevity is decent for an EDT. I do recommend getting the large size so that you can spritz to your heart's delight.

This is a very beautiful scent, fresh and floral, warm and clean all at once. It does however smell fairly familiar. The first spritz is a cloud of expensive smelling, slightly indistinguishable notes that seem very similar to many other fragrances. However as it settles, it dries down to an absolutely lovely medley of vanilla and orange flower. Sweet and aromatic. This would be my first choice for a garden party or outdoor summer wedding. Evocative of sundresses and champagne under flowering trees.

maggie_blaze

When I firstly sprayed it in the perfume shop, it smelled a bit of a bubble gum. Then the scent started to develop. An hour later I smelled my wrist again and it was a nice and warm scent, very elegant and quite familiar. I spent quite some time sniffing my wrist and recalling all my perfumes and I've got the answer: Dolce & Gabbana The One! However, Eau L'Eau Couture is not as strong as The One and doesn't give me a headache. So, I would be happy to go back to the shop and purchase L'Eau Couture for an everyday wear!

I'm just gonna write and say that THIS is NOT a safe blind buy. Some might think of that blue liquid in the toilet that flows once you flush.

It's nothing I ever smelled before . Would love to smell it on the right chemistry. I'm sure its performance is unique.

Not a safe blind buy!

Got it today....all I smell is Lily of the Valley and....maybe the orange blossom. No vanilla and no almonds. It's too sharp for me. It's starting to fade after a half hour but still there. Maybe it will make me like it better as it lays around on the inside of my arm. Oh well...can't win them all. It's not the perfume, it's me....

Update: Now it faintly smells of lily of the valley as though it is a soap now, lighter scent and non offensive. I think it's been about an hour and a half. I wouldn't rebuy this one but it's not bad, it's just I have so many perfumes and I don't find this special on me. I think I may have bought the wrong perfume. The names are so much alike. I think I wanted the "Le Parfum" without the L'eau Couture.

Four Roses

I like this fragrance, but it's not a winner. Got a sample of it, and I've used it a couple of times now. Reminds me of almond milk soap, which is a good thing because I like that smell. However, it does not have a wow effect on me. Dry down is a very plain vanilla and it has a very weak sillage.

Eira Sol

I smell like macarons and milk!!! Unfortunately I find it to be a little nauseating....
But if you`re into smelling like macarons - go buy!

Hipchick40

This a surely a Le Parfum flanker. It has the same orange blossom but it is a bit lighter and fresher. The patchouli is absent with almond in its place. It is creamier and more powdery as well. It lasts and lasts too, which is great for me. I really am enjoying it and am grateful for another Elie Saab option!

DarlingNikki

I so wanted to love or at least like this, but on my skin this is muddled confusion. It's ALMOST beautiful to my nose, but I think that I don't like orange blossom because another fragrance with orange blossom turned me totally off, too. If there was something else there then this would be a winner for me, but I just can't with this. Sorry.

GhostFleur

I find this similar to ALIEN eau Extraordinaire because of the citrus and almond accord present in both compositions. The site got the notes wrong.

Elie Saab L'eau Couture's composition based on Elie Saab's official site:

"In the top notes, a mix of fresh citrusy accents, Calabrian Bergamot blended with Magnolia brings lightness and radiance. In the middle notes, Orange Blossom conveys the emblematic, solar signature of ELIE SAAB Le Parfum.
In the base notes, an irresistible and gourmand Green Almond Accord blends with a delicious infusion of vanilla, like a new addiction."

It is long lasting and deliciously creamy with the Almond note being the most pronounced from the heart to the base. Has a moderate sillage so it's impossible to offend someone. I just love it and I'm planning to get this little piece of heaven real soon...

AllyWillems

This was my first perfume ever. At first I sort of regretted it as it seemed to green, but now that it's very warm in the UK this develops SO MUCH BETTER on my skin. The floral notes come out way more, as before it felt too much just almonds and coldness. I think I will wear this to work as it's fresh and quite sophisticated. Haven't decided whether I will repurchase yet after I finish my 30ml.

Bleyz16

I really love this scent. Absolutely delicious!

lord montifer

Mmm just like pistachio ice cream! Lovely on a warm spring day and lasts well too.

RosieRachel

Another flanker from Elie Saab that's feminine, pretty, elegant, refreshing and ideal for warm climates.

On my skin, this begins as a blast of softly-sweet green-tinged almonds combined with the fresh orange blossom that develops into a lighter and cleaner dry-down. It's very linear. Sometimes the almonds are like play dough on my skin, which unfortunately cheapens the smell of the fragrance since almonds are one of the main notes. Sillage is soft; lasts for about 5-6 hours.

Mas777

Crisp and green almond.. I know well this smell and this flavour, a sour taste, but very fresh. It is the taste of springtime in my country, southern Italy. It's not a common choice in a perfum, so I like very much Eau Couture. It's the only E. Saab scent that I love :-)
It's a warm springtime in a wonderful bottle and with a wonderful colour..

Perfumejunkie7

If heaven exists, I am pretty sure it smells like Elie Saab L'Eau Couture. This is the best fresh floral scent I have ever come across. I want it so badly. It's simply perfect. Beautiful, delicate, intoxicating and sexy. I can smell honey in it although it's not included in the notes. Can't believe so few notes could make such perfection. And it lasts a long time too.

victoria.mei1992

I hated it so much. It was very almondy. But right now I don't know, but I want to spray this on myself, I want to feel that smoky almondy vanilla cloud. It's suffocating though.

miss mills

This smells like delicate honey and vanilla with fresh green lightly infused throughout. Silky, sheer, very delicate and fairylike - I like this one an awful lot. Will test again, for sure. Feels like a very personal sort of fragrance, one that could be a surprising signature - beautiful.

ellentjah

After the first sniff I thought, this is nice, smells good, but not special. But now, after a few hours, I really become to loving this perfume :-) It's a fresh, beautiful, soft and happy perfume

phanhtofu

I would love it much better if it has jasmine instead of Orange Blossom. It's a very good perfume at first sniff tho

chinna

Smells like a marzipan liqueur... :(

Brisa_Marina

What almonds? Nothing but Orange Blossoms! Too bad the longevity is just not there. Max 2 hours on my skin and then nothing.

Chandramukhi

It's been a long time since I didn't fell for a mainstream fragrance. But this one was love at first smelling the breezy flowery silage, which transported me in a Mediterranean spring and also reminded me of an old love. I realised after buying it why that was: Elie Saab Eau Coutoure is a more sophisticated reincarnation of Guerlain Tiare-Mimosa, which I loved a lot.

KIARA85

I like the almond smell so I guess thats why I find this perfume ok, but just ok,I wouldnt list it to my fav
