I really wanted to like this, but the green notes were sharp and unpleasant from the moment they showed up. I love lime, but I cannot love this. I hope it works better on other skin, with those luscious middle notes actually making an appearance!

Impressions over time: This opens with a nice rush of really realistic lime, but it's fairly gentle and not in-your-face sharp. Half an hour in it's lime with green notes (never my favorite); none of the sweeter middle notes have made much of an appearance. An hour later it's all green. Two hours later, I never got tonka, fig, sugar, or fruit: Just lime and green stems and a faint whiff of cleaning products. Three hours in and it's just skin.

Datura-Darling

I'm very happy to have gotten a bottle of this gem from Guerlian and their Aqua Allegoria line. This is such a beautiful, light and airy citrus summer-fresh fragrance. It seems watery/aquatic, liquid sweetness and a citrus where it is fresh, soft and green rather than sharp, zingy and acidic, like you'd expect from reading the notes.

The opening is citrus fruits, and a little tropical coconut flesh and fig (which reminds me with the coconut, and general type of texture of this one's DNA, of another Guerlain AA I have called 'Coconut fizz') then comes an effervescent raw sugarcane, along with a vision of melting icecubes and fizz tickling the inside of your nose as you raise a glass to your mouth. Truly, this reminds me of refreshing cocktails in the garden. Like a homemade spritzer or mojito that quenches your thirst on one of the hottest days of the year, where there isn't a cloud to be seen in a brilliant blue sky or a worry in your mind.

I love this fragrance a lot! It lasts well on me and creates a fabulous zesty fresh scent bubble. Worth a full bottle for sure and perfect for summer or when you want a pick me up and a reminder of such days.

I’m looking for a bottle

Alces Alces

There's a Mexican restaurant down the street that makes way too sweet frozen Margaritas, so sweet they make your jaw hurt and so cold they give you ice eye and so strong they make you buzzed and that is exactly how Limon Verde smells. You can Guerlain this up all you want with talk about subtle notes, it's just a frozen Margarita in a bottle and great when it's 105° F again and will be that temperature at least through August every single day. This is a Real World summer fragrance, as opposed to Fantasy World summer fragrances that trick me into imagining summer is a glamorous fun beach holiday rather than the same triple digit hellscape of mosquitoes and cicada killers and thirsty raccoons in my yard.

Great summer lime fragrance, I mean this is VERY photorealistic and well done. A classic in my book. Over spray to smell all day.

WeezyPipes

This stuff is unisex and doesn't remind me of VIW at all, which is why I now own both. The green notes and lack of acidity take it in a different direction. More brunch in a garden than cocktails on the beach.

flem

Super airy and mouth watering lime to start. Great opening. Reminiscent of Virgin Island Water. There’s no rum listed, but I even get a little bit of a boozy edge to this. The green notes definitely come through. Mildly leafy and fresh. ‘General fruits’ are peeking through in the background. A bit mango-like.

Stays similar all the way to the dry down. Gets a little fresher/cleaner. Not quite soapy, but crisp. The lime stays sweet and sharp.

I love this. I'm not sure if it's different enough to need to own both this and Virgin Island Water (or any of the other similar scents like Malibu or Volcano), but it's incredible none-the-less. So good.

barry1052

Nice sweet tropical vacation mood fragrance, reminds me a lot of Creed’s virgin island water

Ginawang23

Aqua Allegoria Limon Verde is a sweet scent on me. The opening is the greeness of the lemon rind, but it quickly turns into fresh sweet sugar cane. This summer fragrance manages to be sweet but not cloy. It lasts only about 3-4 hours and mostly as skin scent, but this is typical of the Aqua Allegoria line. All in all, this is a very pleasing fragrance that allows the wearer to feel like she is on a tropical vacation.

anniethediva

My favourite scent recently...... 💙💛💙 it is purely adorable on my skin! Smells like sunny holidays and beautiful blue seas....🏝 the lemon and the fig combined are truly addictive.I get huge amount of compliments for this scent while i use it,you just have to try it on your skin type/my skin is fair, blue eyes, blond hair. Perfect for you if you're a fan of different lemon based perfumes.

sophiekoss

i LOVE the lime in this but i wish the sugar lasted longer! it's a delicious mojito scent for the first few minutes, but it turns earthy and kind of aldehydic very soon after. i like the greenness, but it's just SO synthetic that it doesn't quite work for me, which is a shame because the lime-forwardness is really cool!

LMBelvi

I completely agree with the previous review. This is all lime all the time! A nice one for sports or gym. I don’t find it sweet particularly so I’m very surprised to see that as a main descriptor here. Certainly glad I tried this but wouldn’t buy due to short longevity. Also ya kinda have to bathe in it for impact.

coffeefifofum

Lime zest and green notes. Also fades quickly. Not much in the way of complexity, mystery, or depth, but sometimes you just want to smell bright and fun. I like it.

Dimanta

Limon Verde from the Aqua Allegoria line by Guerlain is very citrusy/green perfume. I’m not an impulsive perfume buyer but when I smelled it at the airport I had to have it. I love both sweet and citrusy perfumes but I never found a citrus perfume that I really liked and that screamed “I’m citrus!” This perfume has it all. It just screams I’m lemons, lime, citrus etc. I can’t smell any fig, fruits or tonka bean.. it’s also not long lasting.. and with time it became “too much lime” for me so I stopped using it. I have it for few years now and it’s still good, haven’t gone bad yet.

E.H.Tersono

This is a food-based lime to my nose, crushed kaffir lime in a curry. Not a refreshing and light and zesty lime, but a lime in a drink or a dish. It's pleasant, and the dry-down is so light and fresh that the food associations are gone very quickly. Not as impressed as I thought I would be based on the buzz about it being an excellent lime. But fresh, and perfectly fine.

HEATHEN PERFUMES

Limon Verde from the Aqua Allegoria line by Guerlain (Thierry Wasser), a fragrance about which one could write poems. Refreshing, stimulating, summery. It evokes memories of the Greek rocky landscape overgrown with olives and fig trees. Citrus fruits at your fingertips, sun and a fresh wind from the sea....

Figs, still green, with pinkish flesh, straight from the tree. At first slightly tart, after a while sweet.
Limon Verde is a tale of citrus, figs and Mediterranean, carefree vacations. It bursts with lime, followed by figs, their leaves and herbs. A fragrance perfect for hot weather, tart, lingering, cooling.

Limon Verde is a simple and at the same time captivating fragrance. Although minimalistic, it does not lack intriguing accents. It is truly a citrus fragrance and at the same time it has a clearly exotic character. A specific aura of warm moisture emanates from it.

-Gin and tonic in a bottle.
-Makes for a refreshing pick-me-up on hot summer afternoons.
-Longevity: 2-3 hours as a skin scent before it fades.
-But that's perfectly sufficient for me, as I like to switch fragrances throughout the day.

*Update*
-Seems to be a discontinued fragrance.
-Has an ever-so-subtle tonka bean dry-down.
-Pretty unique citrus scent in the Aqua Allegoria lineup.
-In fact, Limon Verde is one of the only citrus scents that sit well with me. (+)

laramharam

smells like a mojito

twoski

Lime smell is at the forefront. I'd say it smells more like lime zest mixed with some green herbal notes and a smidge of fresh fig. Apparently this fragrance has sugarcane/fruit scents in it, but i do not smell a single trace of those. Certainly those notes are nowhere near as prominent as this page would have you believe.

If the fruit/sugarcane notes were more obvious maybe i'd call this a feminine fragrance. Maybe i got a bad batch but at best i'd say this is unisex. Did they reformulate it? There's nothing that makes me think "wow this smells feminine". It's just an unoffensive fresh herbal lime scent with a very faint (almost undetectable) touch of fig to it. The sweetness dies out in the drydown and i can't for the life of me even detect any of the tonka bean.

Men can easily wear this. I think it's most suitable for the summer months.

Disappointing sillage and lifespan. For all intents and purposes this is a skin scent. Most fragrances in the AA collection seem to have underwhelming sillage and this is no exception.

Michelle12345678

Not what I expected. Citrus and green, but combined with a slightly sweet, almost coconutty accord. Nice and pleasant, but try before buying. Not exactly as advertised by the name.

Cosmina07

Freshest lemonade, the lime was just squeezed, it is so juicy. I would prefer honey instead of that sugar which makes it a little bit sintetic. I can smeel the biterry zest and I want to shower in this perfume. Is my first Allegoria and I can agree that is not powerful enough but for sure this can change your mood, such a happy scent🍋

sjjahn

I am a margarita at a fast-casual Mexican restaurant.

Fresh and zesty are not my thing.

TammyLuSmells

A sweet, fizzy lemon drink on a summer afternoon. So sweet the bees are drunk and distracted. So tangy and lemony, I want to squint. This was my go-to for years, lemon summer freshness. Tchin-tchin!

labonvie

Sometimes it’s a Caipirinha, sometimes it’s floor polish, and other times it’s an herbal shampoo from a health food co-op. At any rate, it’s good when you want to feel refreshed and clean. I love it.

bodnerrachel

It took me years to appreciate Limon Verde. At first it was off-putting because it smelled like a man's fragrance, and then I realized it was much more subtle than I had given it credit for. The fig and sugar cane middle notes give it a woodsy greenness that comes out after the drydown. This fragrance is what you wear after you've spent too much time in the Spicy Orientals. It's a "back to nature" scent. Well done!

RUDOLFO512

Limon Verde is my favorite Aqua Allegoria. It is very green, citrusy and fruity. On me I can smell the lime and tropical fruits. Perfect for the summer months. It is very clean and non offensive. I love it!

Sofiaangeli

Amazing! Smells like the hotel I stayed in when I went to Spain, so it brings many great memories 🥰 It’s a photorealistic lime so there will be a bit of bitterness like in lime zest, but it’s so beautifully done and a bit more complex. I agree with the person who said it smells like you’re making guacamole.... but the most luxurious fresh sweet guacamole ever 😍 Haven’t tried longetivity but I will update later 😍😍

KylieBooFace

I had so much hope for this one. I wanted a sweet lime lollipop scent, but it smelled somewhat harsh, not very sweet, and with a bitter/sharp undertone. Versace Versense was a lot better for reference, and that one didn't hit the mark either.

dinosaursdidexist

To my nose it just smells of really strong lime and synthetic grass. I can’t smell much, if anything, else. Not for me I’m afraid. It’s actually making me feel a little nauseous and I’m resisting the urge to scrub it off. I think maybe I’m picking up a little garden mint too?!

frusia

There is a very icy feel to this Aqua Allegoria. The fig here appears just for a moment, but lime and green notes stay all the way. It's neither pungent or very sweet, just lime green and cool like ice cubes. It has great longevity on me, 10, even 12 hours easily.

Although Limon Verde and Herba Fresca aren't similar, to me they're some kind of a set, like two friends: Limon Verde is somewhat younger, perhaps a bit more extroverted or just more energetic. Herba Fresca is more gentle, softer and a bit old fashioned in a good way. I love them both, but I'm usually the less extroverted friend, so if I was to pick one, Herba Fresca would be my choice 🌱😉

Konga5000

As per the review below me : THERE is NO mint in this . NONE. Whew... thank goodness.

supersaiyan

Is there such thing as a perfect fragrance for a hot day? I think I've found it. This is a fizzy mojito through and through, heavy on the lime, makes your mouth pucker at its tartness. Not particularly sweet to my nose. I love the green opening and the fig-lime combo is to die for, and I get a slightly minty smell in the background that makes me yearn for the summer again. The only downside is that I want to purchase the rest of the Aqua Allegoria line now...

Puolanka

So fresh, so lively, so clean. Ahi me! Absolutely my favorite fragrance, even though there are others I wear more frequently. Perfect citrus fragrance.

Granted I'm biased because it seems like the Guerlain signature fragrance base was formulated specifically for my skin...havent tried one yet that didnt smell heavenly on me and better than in the bottle. That said, I have yet to find another citrus scent by anybody that captures this "fresh squeezed" sensibility...i.e., without smelling heavy like masculine cologne or cleaning products.

Pure joy and effervescence. Only downside is it dissipates as quickly as most citrus scents, but I am quite happy to reapply as needed throughout the day without any fear it will overpower. Silver lining: as it wears off towards evening, it layers nicely with almost any other perfume, and wears off as the evening perfume starts to warm up and take center stage. So aggravated this was discontinued, but glad I own backup, and sincerely hope they re-release in the future.

AnaisLouLou

This opens like freshly squeezed lime and key lime pie. Dries down like lemon meringue pie then, eventually mint. I was fearful it would smell like insect repellent. Nothing like that. I love the pale green colour juice. I have all my Aqua Allegoria in 75ml bottles. Just looking at them gives me pure pleasure. Have blind bought all of them. No duds yet! ❤️

Jacqueline7nt

Mojiti to citrus tea. Nothing exciting for me but not bad. Lasts maybe 5 hours. I don't think it projects too much.

It was a blind buy but i have come to terms with the fact that really lemon scents don't work so well on my skin or I just don't enjoy them.

A shame, because the bottle is beautiful and I have tried a few in the range so that I can find one I like to keep for the bottle.

ViouAmara

Imagine an alcoholfree mojito, very juicy, green lime, slightly minty, sparkling fresh, yummy. Then a warmer (but still spicy) drydown, very peppery indeed: fresh grounded white pepper (just like in la Chasse aux Papillons Extrême).
It’s not a gourmand, it’s a mouthwatering cocktail for a vibrant summertime.
Huge unexpected trail, I got several comments on it, mostly about freshness and good mood.

NouveauDruid

Edit Summer 2020: I sprayed this over Dr. Bronner's Patchouli Lime body lotion and it's a whole new, deeper, more grounded scent. A couple of dabs of patchouli oil to the wrists further adds to the incense quality that I wanted to experiment with. I highly recommend doing this if you want to feel earthier.

Original Post: This (2016) spring I decided to compromise with regard to my never-ending holy grail search for the perfect green and allow at least a green-colored citrus into the mix, and I am elated with that decision and this fragrance.

In my entire life I've never once been disappointed by a Guerlain and this is no exception. Limon Verde opens sweet lime (The Darjeeling Limited, anyone?) then on my skin almost immediately warms and allows the herbs and fig to bloom and crack open respectively, sending an edible signal to the nose BUT never promising it's anything but a well-blended perfume.

And because it's so fresh yet grounded it will be a go-to through the whole summer.

dcjimr

A very odd fragrance. This starts fresh but dries down quickly to something that almost smells gourmand to me...savory, not sweet. It's thick. I will try it again but probably will end up selling it.

gmr1967

Adoroooooo !!! I really like all the fragrances created by the Maison Guerlain for this line. Many are Limited editions (unfortunately this too) Over time I have had the opportunity to try several. This fragrance is a dip in Lime, in Lemon, a dip in all that "green" exists. Very bitter at the first spray but splendidly sweet over the hours. Sweetness given by the sugar cane that I feel very much on my skin. Excellent excellent excellent !!!

TinaM2

First Impression: Lovely, fresh lime (definitely lime, not lemon) with a note of cilantro (don't be put off by this) - the leaf, not the seed (coriander). A lovely combination! A slight, slight sweetness, but not so you'd categorize this as a sweet scent. Perfect for the high heat. Not getting any fig or tonka, but I'll wait for the dry down and report back.

Unfurling Blossoms

Lovely opening, minimally sweet delicate lemon smell, not too strong, but middle note is slightly syrupy sweet (clear simple syrup) mimicking that of the Lemon Drop candies, which I hate, and dries down to a dupe for JHAG's Vanilla vibes. It's not my style.

artsyfartsyhaha

WOW!! I LOVE THIS!!

Imagine it is a hot summer day at a beach resort in Cancun and you are with your friends on a girl's trip. You just took a shower and you have your hair down and loose white shirt that is left unbuttoned.

You are having fun sitting outside with your friends ordering drinks at brunch. The drink you ordered has arrived and It has freshly squeezed lime and ice cubes, the fizzyness from carbonation and little bits of mint. You can even smell it softly as the waiter puts it in front of you.

You laugh as your friend says something funny and you feel the breeze in your hair, the sun on your shoulders-as you take a sip and you instantly feel refreshed.

ThAT IS WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE.

92juanjavier

A fragrance that will delight your summer and, why not, your spring too!
A citrus cocktail. This is acidic lime with lots of sugar.
I notice fig very, very little, I notice much more the tropical fruits.
This fragrance has the power to change your mood.
My favorite Aqua Allegoria at the moment.
By the way, it has a fantastic sillage and longevity.
As can be seen by its golden and not white sticker, it is a limited edition.
It is inspired by the Brazilian drink Caipirinha, because according to Guerlain, the idea is "to savor the Caipirinha under lemon trees in the Amazon River".
I am delighted with this fragrance!

neinmuses

one whiff of this after blindly buying it was enough to have me purchasing a backup bottle immediately.
this is an instantly refreshing lime bomb that reminds me of a caipirinha in a perfume bottle (so much so that I wish I could drink it). yes, it does die down rather quickly on me and has next to no sillage, but when it smells this good and natural I don't really care.

for those who like to layer, I have used this with EldO's Fils de Dieu and Rochas man's Eau de Rochas to great success

pjspaceshit

The initial blast is almost like a photorealistic lime juice bursting out of the sprayer. It's so fresh, dewy and wet I almost want to taste it!

The drydown is much sweeter and more fruity than green. It actually reminds me of D&G - L'Imperatrice (more on paper than on my skin), but without the sharp pink pepper and rhubarb notes, that ruin that fragrance for me.

Overall it's a happy little gem and I can't wait for summer to wear it properly! I only hoped that the green notes will be more prominent, maybe I should try Herba Fresca then...

ETA: After wearing it for a few days, I feel like the drydown is not that sweet and more greener than it seemed to me at first. Yay!

sibaraa

I must leave any fragrance with figs alone. This made me gag the minute i sprayed it. After it dried down it started smelling fresh with lots of lime. Leaning very masculine. A big dislike for me.

Rabbette

This is the fragrance my husband asks me to wear. He absolutely loves it and makes inappropriate noises when he smells it on me. Were I a lesser woman, I would have at my disposal the perfect weapon to control his every move. He's lucky I'm not that woman.
I really like the citrus punch of this, but on me it's somehow creamy, like a lime sherbet. I like this even better layer with the Mandarin Basil of the same line. It's a very heady and uplifting combination.

panda-inc

This is fast becoming one of my favourite perfume for layering with other perfumes, especially rose-based perfumes. There is something therapeutic about it. The lime note is uplifting. It does not last more than 2 hours though, hence needs the layering. But, I don't mind because it is a great pick-me-up in the morning to start the day. A great one from the Guerlain Aqua range.

Nataliemarie

If a big Lime & a tiny Coconut rolled through the grass....needs more Coconut for me, I have to layer.

Konga5000

This is one of the BEST in the Aqua line. I know, I know....longevity is poor. Truth be told, if you hold out- it can be had for $40.00 - thus- not TOO pricey. And as another wise Fragrentica member told me, if something you love only lasts 5 minutes-- ENJOY the great 5 minutes. There is a lesson in there. I love this fragrance. PLEASE do not discontinue it as there are NO LIME BASED fragrances on the market (that do NOT smell like Lime Jell-O).
P.S. Amazing on hot summer days !

Maria Sköld-Gustafsson

What's the idea of buying a perfume with short longevity and almost non-existent sillage? This is the constant question I ask myself. What are our opinoins?

Eau De Rous

Summery light playful fragrance for a man but unisex. The more I wear it the more I really LIKE this. I get more coconut than lime you find in opening if you look for it as a distinguishable note but this is a clean casual scent fine for office or running out. It lasts a little longer than you think at first blush, a morning, afternoon or evening long, but projection is always close. That's in a professional, adult, and sophisticated way but not "old-man."

AnitaHendricks

This is a very safe blind buy! I can't imagine anyone not liking it. The lime is quite strong in the first three minutes but it does dry down a lot softer. The sweet fig, sugar and tropical notes come trough beautifully. I think you could use this as a unisex scent. Both men and cute girls can pull it off in my opinion.

Astar

It’s very green and airy, quite expectedly. Citrusy at the beginning, all I smell after a few hours of wear are the green notes, which make Limon Verde yet another grassy fragrance, sadly. Also, I don’t distinguish any sweet notes of fig or exotic fruit, they remain quite subdued. I prefer Herba Fresca all the way, but I fully acknowledge if you are a lover of green scents, this one might be the winner for you: like a fresh shower on a hot day.
P. S. Weirdly enough I found Passiflora (sprayed on another wrist) smell more like the notes listed here: citrusy and fruity.

Treslicious

The is the scent of fresh-cut grass! Grassy note stands out the most to me. The citrus lingers on top. It’s a very nice citrus, very realistic and not sour. The scent grows sweeter towards the middle of the hour and the fig note comes out. I don’t really smell the tropical fruits and sugary notes. This a true citrus green scent. Not floral, not very fruity or sweet.

I read the mojito reference somewhere but I don’t smell that at all. There’s no mint or sugar in this. If you want mint the Herba Fresca has way more mint.

If you love the smell of fresh-cut grass you will find this to be a beautiful scent. If you are expecting a scent of sweet and sour tropical fruits then get Passiflora or Pera Granita.

nero77

The Lime in the Coconut...

So, before trying this one I was expecting a green scent which would have been in equal parts sharp, yet soothing & refreshing. Instead, I get a very sweet sugar cane and fig fragrance. There is lime and bergamot, but Limon Verde is fundamentally a sweet scent to my nose. I get that this is inspired by a drink which has rum (the Brazilian Caipirinha) but I didn't expect it to be so sweet, nor for it to have fig in the mix. This isn't the first time Guerlain have made fragrances inspired by alcoholic drinks, but I feel with this one it didn't quite hit the mark for me. I do see the appeal, however to my tastes I find it less than what I expected from this fragrance. I think if you are young, female and like sweet summer fragrances, you can go for this one.

addiehominem

Wasn't expecting much from Limon Verde, but it's definitely pleasant and refreshing if not exciting. I prefer this to lemon scents for the summer, and my mind immediately went to margaritas when I sprayed it on. It's juicy, tart, and fizzy, so I think Guerlain did a good job capturing the summer cocktail image they were going for. I don't smell fig, just sugar cane, lime, and soda water. Sillage is soft and the scent is fleeting, but it's versatile enough to layer with other scents to lend brightness. I'm wearing it with Eau de Shalimar to give its lime note extra oomph.

WallaceGrover

Based on the price my expectations weren't super high, but Limon Verde is STUNNING. It's the happiest, brightest fragrance I've ever smelled. This comparison is going to sound weird but it reminds me of making a delicious guacamole or salsa. The chopping of the parsley and cilantro, the zesty sweetness of the lime, the sun shining bright through the window. The second I smelled this I knew it was bottle worthy.

The only downside is performance: 2-3 hours with kind of low projection. BUT I'm willing to look past that any day for something so beautiful.

JackvonMartis

I know coconut is not listed in the notes, but to me this fragrance smells like a thai green curry coconut dish.

Thomaso7

this is definitely a women's fragrance. I smelled this today. it is lime and coconuts. It smells nice, but it is not a man's scent. it has that tropical scent from coconut, like what Hawaiian Tropic smells like kinda, but there is the green citrus scent too, both kinda in equal amounts.
I thought maybe it was an eau du cologne type of mens scent, but since the package was opened, i smellt it and well - see above.

SaraX

On my skin the slightly sweet lime dominates very nicely in this one. The fig is also pretty clear, but it's so nicely blended in with the lime that this doesn't in my opinion by any means scream out to be a fig scent. The fruits and sugar cane add some nice sweetness to the scent, softening the lime nicely

So while I was expecting more of a lime based refreshing unisex scent, I think I got a much nicer scent with pleasant feminine sweetness to it.

While I admit that I could also see a man wearing this, just like so many other citrus and lime based scents, there is nothing at all that screams masculine or even very unisex to me in this scent.

This is definitely one of my favourites from the refreshing citrus genre of scents. Such an icy cold and refreshing scent that I will be reaching for very often when staying in hotter and humid climates. Wearing this is like pouring icy cold (nicely lime smelling and slightly sweet) drinks on yourself.

Lime zest and figs! All the other notes play supportive roles to bring out different facets of lime and figs, to make them more realistic. Figs have a creaminess nature and can be mistaken as coconut.

Soft and gentle, like splashes of sunlight peaking through shivering shadow of leaves and branches casted on windows in the evening, like a whisper, like a reverie.

aqua76239

this is basically lime and greens with a hint of floral. Its very pleasant and refreshing, and my coworker said it smells unisex. But lasting power is awful and it lays very close to the skin so hardly anyone around you can smell it.
To me, this is something you wear out of the shower or something, maybe on very hot humid day. But I don't see using it in any other situations

natalie.marie

I am getting a tart, light lemon, cucumber, lime. In that order. There is no sweetness at all & does npot smell like Creed's VIW. Ive owned several bottles of that over the yrs. Not even close.

basgam

Extremely icy fresh lemon-lime scent that stays on the skin for about half an hour provided I overspray it, big time!

I recently chose a promotion from Sephora that gave me three Aqua Allegoria samples: Limon Verde, Mandarine Basilic, and Pamplelune. Limon Verde was the one I was most excited about, since lime goes very well on my skin, and I like figs. Well, I've been wearing this for about an hour, and while I'm getting my lime, it's a small dose. I'm getting hardly any fruit besides lime, and no figs or sugar - yet. What this scent is on me, mainly, is a forest in the rain. Dew drops on grass. It's not quite Atelier's "Cedre Atlas," in that it doesn't remind me of camping or hiking (it's not a green overdose), but Limon Verde is incredibly refreshing - almost a "palate clenser," if you will, for fragrances. Definitely a unisex offering from Guerlain (whereas I considered Pamplelune definitely feminine).

tayyabforyouth

This is really nice and my favourite from the Acqua Allegoria line by Guerlain. It REALLY smells like Creed's Virgin Island Water. In fact the difference is extremely minimal. So yes, it smells of strong lime and coconut with rum in the background to my nose. The lime in this is tart yet sweet, like a key lime, and the lime note surprisingly lasts throughout the fragrance's duration - at least my nose perceives it that way. Longevity is surprisingly good on my skin, going for 3 hours with good projection, and over 6 hours of longevity overall as a skin scent. It leans a bit more feminine than Virgin Island Water (or its clone Gorse by Laboratory Perfumes, which is just as good).

Ella Ella

A lovely fresh and simple perfume, but extremely weak!
I can only smell it when I apply it :(

Nomen

This should have been named Fico Verde. It was the first thing to struck me upon first spray. I was completely unprepared for it: I was expecting sour citric scent, but instead there was this woody fig. Now that I can see the pyramid, I am amazed that the fig is not voted as an even more pronounced note here.
And there is also something strong woody, powdery dry, a bit masculine even (or just dusty, if you will). I suppose it could be vetiver.
Anyways, after my first surprise allowed me to be less shocked, I actually really started enjoying that unexpected fig tree shade (Mediterranean people know exactly what it smells like around a fig tree in the summer heat). It reminded me a lot of Philosykos, only in a more playful, or even naive way. I think I could make it my staple "happy summer cologne" now, instead of I Love Love. There's also the Traveller's edition, which looks lovely, while the very scent probably remains the same.
Update a week later: I took the lime slice from the rim of my mojito glass and squeezed it between my palms, just for fun and refreshment. Oh boy - when I smelled my palms that was it: Limon Verde. Equally sweet and even woody citrus. Just like I smeared some fig and coco between my palms as well... I'm in awe. I am completely amazed by that scent and that fragrance. I think I am starting to obsess over it.

Mirabele

i am not a Guerlain girl, never been, though i tried many many times with so many different scents, but never had any luck. i do like this one unexpecetdly, i like it a lot, very pretty mellow subtle summer scent. it smells like summer here - green grass, a bit of dust, and, to me, lots of fig. not that we have figs here, it is such a rare luxury, but i happen to like both to eat and to smell figs.
Limon Verde is such a pretty summer in the bottle - the real summer + some imaginable summer.
longevity is not so good, it lasts a few hours and then subtly but surely dissapears, but you can always reapply, since it is so subtle to begin with. sillage is soft and close to skin, which i like.

RosalieRosalie

One of those delightful summer nights in a bottle, you know, when it’s such a sin to go inside the house and it’s so much cosier to stay on the terrace with a soft cardigan over your shoulders. A summer night that you could not imagine without mojito.
Limon Verde is the mojito of the Aqua Allegoria line.
The sugary sweetness can be a little much; in our house we love to combine it with Herba Fresca to give it more body.

Strange though, i would have almost sworn I detect some cardamom, but it must be the Tonka in combination with the other ingredients..

Bubbles1964

I echo the praise for another Guerlain gem from the Aqua Allegoria line.

I agree with the other comments that say Limon Verde should be considered a body spray. It is refreshing on a warm day, and I would happily repurchase it again as long as I can still find a new bottle for around $30.... and I can off fragrancenet.

I also like that I can easily switch to an evening summer scent with no worries of scent carryover.

EDIT: after wearing this for a few days, it's elevated to one of my favorite from the Aqua Allegoria line, right behind Lys Soleia and ahead of Herba Fresca. It quickly becomes a personal scent, so don't expect a lot of compliments. There's a fizzy herbal element that's hard to describe but that seems to last a long time. I can pick it up hours later. Moved up to a "love" from me.

Smells_Good

Like denise02117, I use this as a body spray and nothing else. Perfect after showers on hot days. Makes you feel revitalized from the burst of lime freshness.

Paulie129

A refreshing lime AND FIG centric scent; with a 'slight' touch of sweetness. Very nicely done!

Lovely worn on its own, but very good layered with Creed Virgin Island Water.

denise021178

I do like this for spring/summer but would likely not repurchase based on longevity. On me it reminds me of the drink caipiroska al limone...limey and sugary. The pity is that is lasts maybe 2 hours on my skin before disappearing. It's a great "body spray" for me, refreshing and summery but the quality hardly justifies the price.

supertw94109

Really wished it was more lime centric; but it's much more of a cumcumberish green notes and sweet figs cologne. Lasted a long time on me but most scents do. I have several fig scents such as Philosykos, Premier Figuier; Jardin a Mediterranne but no lime ones; a pity.

miguelmontesino1998

Guerlain might not have developed the Aqua Allegoria line to everyone's liking, but Limon Verde may be an exception. I bought this fragrance as a blind buy and ended up really liking it. This one is one of my favorites in my 300+ collection, however not the best one in my collection either. It is very fresh and slightly sweet. A spring and summer fragrance. This fragrance is unisex, but tends to lean more towards the feminine side. Starts out with a lot of citrus and then develops into a more sweet fragrance, thanks to the fig and sugar cane. However it does not overpower the overall freshness of the lime. A very good fragrance overall, but may be a bit too feminine for some men. For women, this is a perfect fresh fragrance for the summer. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a more unique summer fragrance.

julia.bou

Going through my third bottle. Absolutely love this!!! Wears better in the winter for some strange reason, in summer it can get very heavy, at least on me.

joiroy

Fresh cut hay with a lime twist. I like it, but it's def not a safe citrus blind buy. The hay note (is that the fig?) could be off putting if you're looking for a straight citrus vibe.

strut

Very Grassy opening with lemon and zesty peals, then after a minute the fig starting to ripe with a help of little bit of white sugar. I get only a hint of tropical fruits with its happy vibe and tonka is undistinguished somewhere in the sweetness.
And that is how it stays - sweet figs, grassy and lemony - even in the drydown. The notes are super natural, nothing smells synthetic here.
Its a light white cloud in the middle of a clear blue sky. A little song by a creek on hot summer day, absolutely wonderful!
I rock it on our hot and humid summer. Its my summer signature.
I prefer it by far over men summer scents, even more then Dior Sport (which i like very much).
Yes the longevity is short, 2 hours on my skin. Projection is for the first 1.5 hours, and it has light silage - sometimes lemony and some times figs. Very playful.
I always reapply after 2-3 hours with about 5-6 sprays, the atomizer diffuse the liquid very light and wide like a cloud which gives very refreshing feeling.
The more I reapply the better the performance so the fragrance very versatile for usage.
Also on the hair and clothes the scent stays very long so i recommend to spray there for intensity.
Aqua Allegoria is so precised naming - it's a splash of scented water for refreshment.
I discoverer this scent when i was looking for a present for my selective sister so i was looking something very light and summery, not something that obligate for something :) In the end i took two bottles, one for me and one for her.
Tried herbal fresca from the line and im thinking to get that. Also tried mandarin basilic witch i smelled in the other fragrances many times so i wasn't so impressed, though it smelled good. Of course i'm intrigued so i wish i could sample the other scents in this line.
Bravo Aqua Allegoria!

Konga5000

I am on my second bottle now. I got a tester for like $26.00 on eBay.
Even though longevity is not long at all-- I love this juice.

It's so fresh and realistic YET dry and hazy. It instantly puts you in a good mood to used this--the first blast in pretty incredible -- as if you just cut a lime in half to make a cocktail .

LIME is not easy to do well in a cologne but Guerlain did it well . So even if you use this as a "Jean Nate" after a bath-- SO BE IT!
Wonderful in hot summer weather too!
If you love LIME --this is for you!

sria

lasts all of half an hour. Absolutely unacceptable from Guerlain.

AngelAlien

Beautiful, summery, fresh, lime!!! A lovely perfume. Really super! Green, gorgeous tropical fruit, with lovely almondy tonka beans; a terrific, refreshing, sparkling fragrance. Perfect for making you feel carefree and bubbly. Happiness in a bottle!

no-fi

Limon Verde is a juicy green lime scent which contrasts transparent watery lightness with the softly blurred depth of tonka. The lime is allowed to sing almost on its own here, without being paired with mint, as in Thierry Wasser's L'eau Boisee, or synthetic musk, as in Cristalle Eau Vert. It's fresh and very green, but perhaps not captivating enough to hold attention. Still, it's worth a try if softly sparkling contemporary citruses are your thing.

obar6084

This is one of my summer scents on rotation along with AA Neroli Blanca, NEST Verde and the usual suspect D&G Light Blue. Very green and has a cooling effect. Borderline performance, for something that comes from Guerlain the AA line needs to improve. The bottles are to die for albeit the gold component is painted plastic. Still I'll check every offering as they have new ones every year.

dyaver

It's a crisp and ultra fresh lemony fragrance that stays close to the skin. At the beginning it feels masculine, but when the strong lime fades away, the feminine side states its presence. Lasts for about 5-6 hours.

LenaNif

The best sports fragrance. This is what I was looking for a long time..
100/10 :D

edit: It´s better to wear this fragrance in spring, because in hot summer it becomes too sharpness and is much more masculine then in colder wheather.

Taliera

I bought the Xmas set (in early Oct, I know, just for me) which included a 125mL bottle of Limon Verde, a 7.5mL mini of Limon Verde, a 7.5mL mini of Pera Granita and a rather lovely makeup bag. Am not sorry, I love this fragrance to bits.

This is the perfect lime. I and have a soft spot for lime... maybe it's all those Thai salads, or nights of sipping mojitos? In my opinion, Aerin Lauder's Waterlily Sun smells like a lime fragrance (although there is no lime), and is well done. But the asking price is too high. Similarly, Tom Ford's lime offering is a sophisticated, superior interpretation on this very interesting fruit. But honestly, who's going to pay $400 a bottle of overpriced ego marketing? Certainly not me. Then I tried the Guerlain bottle, and there was an instant merging of souls. It was pleasurably sharp, in a key lime way, being tangy and slightly astringent. It was also green, like the grass and trees of the French countryside. It was also sweet, warm and rounded - not really like sugar cane or tonka bean - but more like giving balance to the whole composition. According to taste, it was my favourite out of the bunch. It was also the cheapest - just over $100. The silage is great for about 15 min, then it can only be smelled up in occasional wafts and in close proximity. For a Guerlain, this is abismal. But for mainstream perfume, this average for an EDT. Longevity is good though, 9hrs +

KmiluK

I get an immediate fresh burst of lime. So clean and bright. Then softer fruit. Great to wear in the morning or to perk yourself up mid afternoon. I have had customers at work ask me for the name of this scent they like it so much. ( I work in a food shop) Doesn't last all that long sadly. So just spritz on some more. I love it.

Talicalicia

A light fresh Lime / green scent tempered with a touch of suger and tropical fruits. the fragrance is refreshing on a hot day or anytime you want a scent burst. the Longevity isn't huge and the silage not massive and it leaves you smelling clean and fresh rather than musky or spicy.
A go to Summer Splash.

mutatismutandis

The Aqua Allegoria range need to be understood and accepted on their own terms - a water allegory, a suggestion of something. If you can deal with this then there are many choices and I would be surprised if you couldn't find one to your liking, albeit with the caveat that quite a lot of them have been discontinued.

AA Limon Verde seems the natural successor to the discontinued Lemon Fresca. Lemon Fresca is a little sweeter whereas Limon Verde is a little rounder. It's one of those nice citrus aromatics which are fresh and zingy, this time with lime as the dominant note, and rather suitable for a lovely summer's day. It's no coincidence that it came out the same year as L'Homme Eau Boisee - Thierry Wasser was obviously spending a lot of time with limes in the laboratory at this point. AA Limon Verde feels like a cologne except it feels much stronger when you first apply it but that's the lime talking. I'm not exactly sure where the sugar cane or the tonka are in here but I can smell the rest of the notes at various stages.

I find AA Limon Verde lasts about six hours so you can refresh it or step into something else later on in the day. It's moderate in its sillage for a couple of hours then it becomes a skin scent. It opens with the burst of lime supported by vague green notes and tropical fruit. Gradually the lime settles down a little and forms a harmonic trio with the green and tropical notes and then there's a hint of fig somewhere. I'd say it is unisex but slightly more feminine than masculine, I think because of the tropical fruit.

I often wear something light and bright to bed to smell clean and fresh and the Aqua Allegoria line often fit the bill for me in this respect.

hailes_xx

Sweet lime, mojito, sour taste not sour smell, settles into a subtler green scent, not at all powdery, incredibly beautiful.... So lovely and bright. If bright happiness had a smell this would be it.

OTA Mom

Got a great deal on a blind buy, so I went for it--and am really pleased. I get the sharpest, most realistic lime zest I've ever experienced in a fragrance over freshly cut hay. No other notes for me and definitely not sweet.

Phantosmia Bella

I bought a sample of this as a part of an AA sample quartet, and quite forgot about it.
Today I felt like using something refreshing, and the name seemed promising so I gave it a try.

A hidden jem.

I love citruses and they smell great on my skin, so technically this was a safe venture, but I never expected this scent to be so beautiful.
It's very fresh, but there's something almost yummy about it. Somehow, it reminds me of a little tropical petit four. I think that the combination of tonka bean, sugar cane and probably fig (a note I'm not too fond of, and luckily can't smell it on my skin with this scent) give it a bit of a pastry vibe, and it's really, really good.
Unlike many of the appreciators here, on my skin this perfume goes "in reverse" - from sweet pastry citrus into a more citrusy, less sweet scent as time goes by.
A total summer scent, but one that combines freshness with a mild sweetness. Unisex IMO, and totally FB worth. Love!

Bstefcorbin

Just got this (FB) the price was right, and I was thinking of the hubby when I bought it. Well I was right about the hubby. For all it's sweetness it still rings masculine to me. I like it very much and will probably layer it. It is a sweet lime-ade slushy with an aftershave vibe. Sexy on a preppy guy.

polkadot27

Zingy, Zesty fresh and revitalizing. A citrus that smells expensive and classic. It is well put together and has very good sillage in my opinion. Not the most mysterious scent but definitely available for everyday wear it is clean and energizing. I like this one

Inky Le Guin

Correction: tokyo milk Marine sel reminds me of the dry down base notes of this perfume, not Sea Sel

Inky Le Guin

This has dominance of a peppery green scent overall with astrigent aquatic notes over all. The opening has a lime peel sweet greenery smell that opens to a lime peel peppery green and the rest is the peppery green astrigent aquatic smell. I really like it, its unique and definitly unisex, i would say leaning masculine though some say femme, dont agree at all. Perhaps on first spray the slight sweet lime peel gives that impression but for anyone who lives in this for a day, that part is short and...sweet. I have smelled citrusy mens sport scents from major perfumers who's smell waaaaay more femme than this.
This perfume's middle to end life reminds me a lot of Tokyo Milk Sea Sel though Sea Sel has none of the lime, it smells almost exactly like the main base of Limon verde...green and weirdly dry peppery and astringent aquatic.
Limon verde has a clean yet dirty smell, like a day in the beach water with a zest of lime. This smell makes me feel refreshing and avante-garde.

Konga5000

OH SWEET JESUS !
My BEST Blind Buy of the new year (2016)!

I always was a Guerlain fan....and now I'm a BIG Guerlain fan because of this one!

This is a green grassy Lime.

It has a hazy soft summery hint of HAY to it.
Yes- I said HAY.
Hay in a GOOD WAY! 100% natural smelling oozing organics!
This is not a "juicy" lime --it's quite DRY -- which is pretty unique as well.
I was giddy just sniffing this as I walked back from my P.O. Box after this arrived today!
This juice can be prescribed by a doctor as an anti-depressant !!

Longevity is modest but that's OK because this is not terribly expensive (I think my 4.2 oz bottle was around $40.00 or a bit more?)

My highest rating of:

PNDT: Please never discontinue this !
and
ATABABUB: Already thinking about buying a back up bottle (and I just got this 15 minutes ago!)
This is JOY JUICE deluxe!

davide2111

La nota di lime è la più forte e la più intensa; seguono poi le note verdi e quella di fico infine, con meno intensità si avvertono le note fruttate, le zollette di zucchero e la fava tonka. Profumo gradevole, fresco perfetto per un'estate torrida!
Sillage 7/10
Longevità 7/10
Profumo 8/10

ana hen

It's caipirinha :))).lime, figs, many sliced citrus at sparkling soda ;).so good, pleasant, close.there is some warm dry down, not aquatic -more creamy feeling.Like lemon cake.

Love it.

freakypirate

Opens with fresh and tart lime powered by aldehydes. I smell something sweet in there too, that gets stronger as the scent develops. More fruit, sugary notes, and a hint of metallic notes underneath. Then, fig appears, giving the fruit a sultry edge. The fig gets stronger and stronger. The lime is now completely gone and the drydown is a mix of tropical fruit notes on a sweet vanillic base.

Sillage is moderate, longevity moderate.

Opens very zesty but gets a tropical fruity edge soon. Refreshing, but not my taste. Shame the lime doesn't stay, the opening is really a winner!

polka

When approaching Limon Verde, I still remembered my dissapointing encounter with Herba Fresca that haven't met my expectation for fresh, vegetable scent at all. No wonder I was quite cautious and a bit wary about Limon Verde. Fortunately, it gave me everything I was hoping for.

First of all - the lime. It makes the frag citrusy, but not too sharp and not too zesty. Then - the green notes. They're just perfect in here, like a bunch of freshly cut grass and vegetables right from a garden in the countryside. And finally - the figue. Not very bold, not quite obvious, used just to smooth the edges of the frag and doing its job perfectly.

The opening of Limon Verde is unbelieveably fresh in a very natural, almost organic way. Then it gets a bit sweeter, but not half as sweet as the notes in the pyramid might suggest.Just a perfect fragrance for hot summer. I totally love it and that's why its poor longevity breaks my heart.

thesheppardess

Once on my skin, I pick up the scent of lime, coconut, pandan leaves and sticky rice. I get the feeling I am about to eat a southeast Asian dish. The only thing missing is some thinly sliced chilies and a few sprigs of cilantro. Way too heavy a scent be refreshing. As this Allegoria warms up on me, I start to feel a little unwell. Eventually had to wash this one off.

andronikos

It's not 'lemon', just FIG, FIG, and FIG at all. Pleasant but wrong name. I like it and bought one though.

purity marilyn

nothing to say its just what i need!

carmillajeddah

Delicious citrus, not too sharp. Reminds me of a whole lemon, juice and zest. Discreet sillage.

username101

It's like drinking caiprinha through the nose! A very close replica. Often times fragrances that are themed after citruses can be overly sharp, but they did a good job with this one by retaining the freshness of citrus while cutting out the sharpness with sweet notes and rounding it with floral notes.

jedrzejowskia

It's truly a unisex fragrance, not being obtrusively fresh and masculine I fell in love with it at first smell.
Usually I'm wary of citruses and would veer on the fruity side of things for summer. However, between this and Herba Fresca, Limon Verde won hands down.
It's a calm, sweet and fresh smell, invigorating at the same time and equivalent of a sunny, green day in the park.
Beautiful, however as with most citrus fragrances not very long lasting.
As it comes in generous sizes of 75ml and 125, I don't mind, happily reapply for those zesty top notes. Yum!!!

epicurean

This flirty cocktail of a scent isn't going to set the perfume world ablaze, but it's fun, fresh and sufficiently interesting to accompany me through the summer. I would agree that fig should receive equal billing here; the lime note does not linger as long as you might expect, leaving the tropical notes to do most of the heavy lifting. The sillage and longevity are good for a citrus based perfume, evidence that it is well made and therefore decent value (cf. Pamplelune, another great AA citrus). Jo Malone take note.

MademoiselleMaya

On a hot day the lime top disappears into thin air leaving masculine mix with dominant fig note. The sillage is soft and it's gone within 3 hours. It was more pleasant when I tested it in store.

Maddyrain

I've read some people saying on the internet that "Limon Verde" doesn't evoke caipirinha drinks to them. I suppose they need to drink more caipirinha then. I tried this today and I started to laugh out loud at the citrus explosion upon application. It surely smells like caipirinha!

Unfortunately this bright and citrus beginning fades quite fast to the sugary base. I could even picture the frame: I imagine myself having a caipirinha at a bar and then I'm left to nothing but the sugar at the bottom of my glass.
I also get the fig note, but it's subdued by the sugar cane.

"Limon Verde" doesn't seem to have a strong sillage but it does last a long on my skin even after a shower. I wish the caipirinha could last longer on my glass...

ShellBelle

Sampled this today, and on me, it is far from ordinary. Beautiful, airy, and fresh! Gorgeous lime and green notes at first, that later morphs into Tonka bean and fig. Very refreshing in this hot weather. Silage is pretty good, and longevity is very good. Personally, I think it's a must try for Summer!

starmerj

This is a really lovely natural smelling sweet lime & fig fragrance.
Nothing too complex or ground breaking, just a very pleasant and easy to wear lime based fragrance.
This is perfect for the hot weather, which I think is the intended use.
This is definitely a unisex fragrance, but it does lean slightly more towards the feminine side.

This lasts a surprisingly long time for a citrus scent. I get about seven hours out of it.
This fragrance doesn't make a huge statement, but it is noticeable to those within a close proximity.

In my opinion, this is one of the better fragrances in the Aqua Allegoria line. I can imagine this fragrance would be very easy to reach for during hot weather. It would also be a good option for those who don't want the typical aquatic or "suntan lotion-like" summer fragrances.

HeidiLynn

I have yet to try a lime scented fragrance that has character and is unique. This is no exception, sadly. It is a lively and lifelike lime, with a realistic tinge of bitterness behind the citrus characteristic of limes (vs lemons). It is light and fresh and refreshing, but it is very simple. It does not develop on my skin, and while there might be a hint of fig that appears about 20 minutes after application, that could also be my over reactive imagination; this is a very uni-dimensional fragrance. It also only lasts about 3 hours total, with low sillage. Summery, but rather boring.

dsty

I like this a lot; I'm beginning to think I love everything that combines citrus with sugar or fig. Use all three and you're bound to come up with a winner in my eyes.
It smells exactly like a cocktail, only without the suggestion of stickiness. Sweet in a deliciously fresh way. It is quite simple and it doesn't change much but in my eyes that's not a bad thing; afther the lovely opening there's none of those nasty surprises or even that mild heartbreak when less beloved notes start taking center stage, like there so often is with a more complex scent.
Like most summer scents it doesn't last too long, only a couple of hours; but re-applying is nice and refreshing so I don't mind.

I'd like a small bottle of this but it's not on top of my wishlist, so I hope it sticks around long enough for me to decide (or win the lottery!).

Mellyhelly

I'm not afan of Limon Verde. It smells plesant but coming from such a perfume house it smells more of a joke. I'm not saying that Guerlain should only make old classics with matronly effect or sensual orientals or unaffordable thick and heavy Extraits. It's actually very good that they offer a wide range of perfumes, but again AA Limon Verde smells like something that had to be put on marketing for marketing's sake.
Lime is a very acidic fruit and here it is not acidic at all, well it might be the fig, but I smell no fig here. maybe when you put lime and fig together there goes a reaction that gives birth to a new fruit: the sugary figlim.
Refreshing at first, it becomes syrupy like one of those lemon or lime syrup that you put in cold water to make drinks for children or cocktails for adults.
No feve tonka here or maybe it has been eaten by sugar. Instead there is weird vaguely stale basenote, probably a result of clashing notes, very similar to what happens in Pamplelune, but Limon Verde smells better than that.
Since La Petite Robe Noire sugar has become an usual player for Guerlain, too. Very easy to do, it enfolds all the rest, so if you cannot smell real lime nor real fig blame it on the sugar, not on the fact that they actually put no real lime and no real fig in it.
In the end it smells like a sweet summer cocktail, apart from the stale edge that could be a chemistry thing with my skin.
Not a bad one, but I wish that Guerlain didn't reformulate nor discontinue true beauties to give us scents for a season. In AA line there were few meaningful ones. Gone.

Arlene-Beatrix

Pleasant lime scent, not sharp, so I like it, even if usually I don't like intense green scents. Surely it is for green fragrances' lovers.

Agafia

Another perfection from Aqua Allegoria line. I think that we are meant to be together.
It's the most sublime citrus that I came across lately. Very calming and natural smelling, not harsh or sour at all. Has a soft dry down, similar to pampelune. Will be perfect for summer nights. Bottle is outstandingly beautiful, as always in this line. I love you Aqua Allegoria, I love you Guerlain. :)

tanaligato

Sharp, almost tingly citrus scent. I think this a truly unisex fragrance since it feels masculine enough for a guy to wear.
Perfect for summer, a classy summer EDT.
Stays perfectly for more than 8 hours, so excellent longevity for a citrus, at least on my skin.

Very recommended, already one of my favorites from the Aqua Allegoria collection.

Esthertje255

I only checked out the reviews on this website and because of the beautiful bottle I just ordered this online. That was a great decision.
It's a very special kind of fresh scent.
I'd rather call it tropical. It's really good for a sunny day and it matches perfectly with the style of my tropical flower summerdress.
I have one strange remark though, the first two hours wearing this I really thought there was coconut in in. I like coconut by the way, but I couldn't find that note in the description. Maybe I'm confused with something else..?
I would really advise this scent if you're looking for a tropical and fresh summer scent for hot days, especially when you like a bit heavier scents because I don't think it's really like white floral/water fresh.
I really really hope Guerlain will continue selling the Limon Verde of Aqua Allegoria after 2014.

genny17

It is really nothing great, it is very fresh. But hard to distinguish any notes really...this is another AA without much personality really...citrus, yes. Then, something a bit feminine.,I couldn't find anything real good to mention about it, too simplistic for the price I agree.

isabelamattarelli

First: an intense(INTENSE!) lime cloud
them... it gets weaker and a fig note remembers me of womanity and un jardin sur en mediterranee

lisa o

I think it's a girly crowd pleaser, like many of the recent Guerlain releases, a candy-like smelling melon and sweet lime fruitpunch....for a Lime by Guerlain my choice would always be the old, uplifting and elegant Cologne Imperiale...

shamy

This fragrance is so nice. It has a nice not too pine oil fresh thing going. I have a very difficult skin chemistry it like to change things a lot but this is fresh clean with a hint of vanilla ending.. A nice Sunday morning fragrance.

ralucucky

I don't like it that much. It smells too..simple. Herba fresca is a much much better summer and refreshing perfume.

Zaleska

I am Brazilian and I have something to say: the name should be "Limão Verde", because we speak Portuguese here, not Spanish!
Gosh!

Mellyhelly

I tried it once and it left me half cold.
The initial burst of capirinha or better lemon vodka is amusing and refreshing, but after that it becomes sweet on my skin, the fig is faint and tonka? Where is tonka?
I expected a super-refreshing fragrance for summer (or anyday) with some staying power, instead here I got a lemon basket (after berry, a new sub-group of the endless fruit basket thing?) of course with a Guerlain quality, but so thin...
I will re-test for sure, because it was a nice smell and I had to take a shower 1 hour after testing, so maybe I missed something, even if one cannot expect a big evolution with these Aqua series.

It does smell like Caipirinha. Fresh, juicy, somewhat sweet. The fig in Limon Verde is beautiful. A very neat composition as a whole.

It lasts about 4 hours only on me, though.

I get the lime and the caipirinha that everybody is talking about. But sad to say this does not excite me and i like my citrus frags to put a spring in my step. But on the right chemistry this could be very nice.

This is nice at first application. I like the citrus burst it is very uplifting and cheerful. The one complaint I have about this fresh fragrance is that it is very masculine for me. I prefer girly sweet/citrus scents. While this scent is nice and well done, it simply isn't for me. However if you do like masculine fresh, then definitely for you (think dsquared he wood but lighter!)

I am big Guerlain's fan, but this one leave me a bit disappointed. In the first few minutes is very nice lime, fresh and up lifting, but after 15 minutes...just a cat piss on my skin :( Sorry

I can count on GUERLAIN eyes closed and Limon Verde is not an exception…

“Enjoy a Caipirinha under the lemon trees on the banks of the Amazon River” is written on the sample by Guerlain… and it’s the perfect description of the mood that this perfume gives - it’s excellent for summer time and for the vacation on the beach!

Limon Verde opens with fresh, lightly bitter note of lime zest rounded by milkiness of fig and exotic fruits. The fig gives softness and even some aquatic undertones. The fruits are not too sweet - just sweet enough to balance the sourness of lime. The composition is rather linear. It reminds me of Ninfeo Mio of Annick Goutal which I love a lot, but Ninfeo Mio evolves vastly – from extreme citrus to extreme creamy nutty fig. In Limon Verde these 2 notes are dominant, but stay always close to each other. Anyway I suggest it for all citrus and fig lovers.

Longevity 4 hours, silage moderate.

Another amazing unisex fragrance with lime. Well, I like it a lot, it's not as amazingly good as Herba fresca, but still, quite good.
I like the lime and the tropical fruits in it. If there was a little bit of mint it would be just perfect.
It's fresh, with a hint of sweetness which comes from tropical fruits and sugar. Close to nature, but not overwhelmingly green.

I love fig, I love lime and I love this scent! Like mojito drink in hot summer day. Lime is so fresh, not synthetical at all, only pure lime! There is little bit sugary and fig notes too, so those make it little bit sweetness too. Perfect for hot summer days to cooling you and your company. :) Longevity is moderate about 4 hours, so you can sprit more during the day. Sillage is moderate fresh but soft. Good job GUERLAIN!
