Faint resemblances to the original. This is more creamy, cashmerean and floral. Definitely aquatic but I don't think it's salty. On skin it latches on and actually reminds me of a deo called Mum. This is definitely not a loud scent. Just close proximity only.

Honestly though, I don't think the notes are right.

These are the notes of the EdP, not the EdT. The EdT has citrus in it as well and, although it smells similar, is not as marine as the EdP.

The EdP is something I'd say smells nice but a bit fishy. This one is nice all the way through, and it's cheaper, too. Smells better on clothes than on skin I think.

I'll pick this one over the EdP and the original.

This is. SO. BEAUTIFUL! Its very close to the original but also, not so much. Its as if they decided to deconstruct L’eau D’Issey and recreate a carbon copy of the original but using entirely different ingredients. The perfume is slightly more intense but not in a masculine type of way. More of a very confident unisex rendition. I adore it.

I bought a 50ml bottle today for a really low price - not quite a blind buy, but this is not a perfume I'd ever really considered.
This scent is a nice surprise, it opens quite sharp but settles wonderfully. I love how close it stays to the skin and it's a pleasant perfume for everyday use - but don't be fooled, this perfume is not "flat" or "dull".
Funnily enough, I tried the EDP and actually prefer this one.

The opening is a challenge. It is bitter, unnatural, and unpleasant. After an hour or closer to two hours it unfolds and becomes the lovely floral aquatic it is meant to be. This is one to try before buying.

The first thing I notice were the water notes but I would swear that there is a warm pepper scent hanging in the background so I went to their site and listed as a top note is the wild Persian Cyclamen, which is reminiscent of Hyacinth could that be what the warm scent is or the Lotus Rose.

I don't care which one it is for as time goes on I really like it! It slowly develops into a lovely white floral scent that is very pretty which is made up of carnations, lilies, and the peony flower. Sounds lovely and is which makes for a nice day scent. Which dries down into a woody, musk, creamy amber scent.

I have to say I didn't care for it at first after wearing a couple of times it grew on me for it reminds me of a spicy floral musky perfume, this is not your typical floral perfume. It has a moderate projection which lasted 6 hours which I feel is good for a toilette. I could almost see a man pulling this off.

fyetan

A soft, fresh, watery lily. Longevity and projection are low, max two hour wear.
Pleasant but not unique.

Not as fresh or white-floral as I expected. The aquatic notes certainly lends a certain lightness, almost to the extent of a nose-stinging sharpness. But it's way too powdery for my tastes.

raiza1990

Starts a bit sharp and powdery, soapy. Later it gets softer and i can smell the white flowers. This stage is more pleasant but it’s still too soapy for me. It’s better than the original Eau d’Issey though.
Final note: 5/10

So I received this bottle this week purchased on eBay really cheap and am still testing it but just wanted to add my two cents so far.

I am getting so many different perfumes from this at different stages of the progression of the scent.

When first sprayed I can smell the orange blossom from JPG Classique X. This was one of the flankers of the original Classique...the one w/the large "X" on the bottle.

Toward the middle I'm getting the citrus note from Burberry Sport for women. It's a real tangy type of citrus scent.

I feel like this scent changes a few different times and gives me surprises so that for me makes it interesting but I still need to finish testing it a few more days to see what type of scent it is and when I would wear it.

It gives me a winter vibe also for some reason and seems it may be too heavy for summer however the longevity may be short so maybe wearing it in the summer months could work.

I might be starting to dig it. It's giving me that orangey scent I love in Burberry sport with something that softens and rounds it out a bit so it's not so sporty but has a delicate side.

I actually like the bottle and love the box which is rare.

Eager to finish testing it and happy to have it!

Update: I love this! It smells different to me now than when first sniffed but I have been wanting to wear it all the time. This has not happened since back when Light Blue was released and I smelled it on a customer at work. I think that's been over 15 years or so.

I've liked scents but this one is one that just smells like me. We'll see in the next few weeks if this could become my New signature after years of not having one. Can't wait to try it in the spring and summer!

Opened bitter on me today, give it 10 mins, lovely, fresh, oceanic

To my nose, this scent is the greenest of greens. It recalls wet forests and summer rain storms. I like it, but not as much as I had hoped. I was expecting more heady floral notes, but all I smell is water and wood (and I could swear Lily of the Valley, though it's not listed.) Very fresh and (so far) long lasting.

As @Germany noticed, the notes listed here are not right. I can't find the real note pyramid but at Issey Miyake website this perfume is described: "For the first time, the aquatic accords of this fragrant odyssey are brightened by citrus notes. Zesty, fizzy Mandarin sparks up the fragrance. Pure, soaring, as exhilarating as the dawn of the first spring, Neroli essence wraps the heart of the fragrance with a diaphanous halo. Bathed in pearly light, Rose and Lily-of-the-valley bloom. A salty, musky breeze of Ambergris and Cashmeran touches these freshly blossomed flowers, wafting the scent of sea spray, sand and sun-kissed skin."
The perfumer behind it (as well as the EDP) is Dominique Ropion.

Despite being EDT this fragrance is very strong and well projecting. Longevity is good too.

Many thanks to my skin once again to magnify this overtime scent.
How to become the queen of eternal snows and glaciers on a cold snowy day.

For me its a strong aquatic jasmine on first spray! As time passes the scent is still there! It gets slightly powdery but lily and jasmine are still doing great. I love scents with jasmine and this is a nice one. It doesn't have that fake floral smell to it. But two sprays are enough as I think it is quite a strong scent for a floral aquatic.
Edit: Wow, I just discovered this smells like ADGioa without sweetness, and dries down to ADG for men! But it has better florals than ADGioa! This is according to my nose though.

Picked up a 30ml bottle of this at Superdrug for £15, 'cause it was there and handy. Unwrapping it, was thinking "bet I've just thrown £15 away!". Spritzed a bit on my hand ... I was stunned! You know when you blind-buy a discounted perfume, and then you scold yourself ... and then - it turns out to be one of those really exceptional scores? Well, this is one of those for me! Wish it had been the 100ml bottle - and of EDP, coz isn't this one of those where the EDT is strictly just a more diluted version of the EDP? I think it is.

Love, love, love it. It's fresh, clean, very long lasting and wearable during any season. Perfect!!!

AnitaHendricks

The sea notes are heavy when you spray this perfume on. Nice and fresh! This tames down quickly to make room for the florals. I can't make out the rose note but the white flowers are each clearly there. They are strong, sensual and clean. The cashmere wood and ambergris notes are there to add more dept to the perfume. It's a musky, powdery type of dept. I think it's way too overwelming within the first hours. This even repulsed me. The scent became pleasing again at the end of the day after these notes worn off. The florals could breathe again! Too bad I'm not willing to wait for it.

Arlene-Beatrix

Very soft floral scent, creamy and discrete. Office safe. Pure is a good name for it. However, it's not fresh enough for me.

Germany

Love this new version ! So clean and fresh. This new Edt has a nice twist. It's less moist and less wet compared to the "pure EDP " it almost has a slight powdery note added as well as more musk. It's drier and lost some of the classic DNA ,it's very modern and clean with a citrus note added , an orange citrus note ,,,, it's not as long lasting as the more flowery oceanic and moist EDP .
The edt comes in a frosted white bottle and contains different notes 100% , it has quite a bit more musk ,an orange note and maybe even cedar instead of the cashmere wood, it's more fluffy and white rather than wet and carnal. Not that the EDP is as carnal as the classic Issey but it does have more flowers and shares more of the classics DNA .... both fragrances are amazing. Anyone know who the nose behind them is ?

ScarlettX

A fresh scent with a touch of some earthy note.
Suitable for spring and summer. I can totally sense a sea water kind of freshness here.
I like it quite well, it's a nice and clean scent without any sweetness.
Pure is a suitable name for it.

pinky_brit

So fresh, totally different from the original Pure.
The notes are wrong, it's very citrus.
