Kenzo World by Kenzo is a Floral fragrance for women. Kenzo World was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Francis Kurkdjian. Top note is Red Fruits; middle notes are Peony, Floral Notes and Egyptian Jasmine; base note is Ambroxan.

The all-seeing eye is a major imprint of the collection and alludes to the force of the third eye and to spiritual protection from above," said Kenzo art-directors Humberto Leon and Carol Lim.

Its the first fragrance by the new art directors.

Kenzo entrusted the fragrance creation to Francis Kurkdjian. "It opens with a surge of flowers by the armful, from petals to bouquets, with bursts of sweetness... It's a brilliant fragrance, with a lively sparkling trail, a crazy rock nectar with an intoxicating scent that titillates the nose. A shot of energy that benefits the soul."

The key note of the fragrance is Ambroxan: "Ambroxan gives the flowers the enticing quality that we need to fogret them as such. It's a bit like the sfumato in the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci, when you juxtapose power. It acts like the fog, when the mist blurs the contours of things all around, and we only recognize their hazy outline."

I tried to like this because of the bottle and being a Kenzo by Kenzo, Flower, L'elephant, Summer, L'eau fan but this perfume has zero personality in my opinion, is weak and disappears in an hour. I really could not justify the extortionate price for such a weak scent.

vixen1995

I really don't get all the hate for Kenzo World, But maybe it's one of those scents where everyone has a wildly different interpretation of it? Anyhow, On me, It's super pretty from start to finish. Love the berries in the opening, The floral mid is very sweet and well blended. Ambroxan here gives it freshness and a hint of a salty, Almost caramel like vibe. I also smell a nice White Musk in the base. So it's a clean and sweet Fruity-Floral to me, Nothing polarizing. Performs fairly well. The bottle is cute and well made. Do test first if you can!

staschhha

So, I've been searching for a new perfume for me, and by analyzing all the fragrance notes and reviews, Kenzo World somehow sounded like a match for me. I LOVE floral perfumes and jasmine, I couldn't wait to go to a shop and smell this one. BUT, the moment I smelled it and put it on my skin, I got a nauseous feeling.
The perfume smelled horrible on me, like something synthetic, sweaty, a stale dirt. I cannot even describe it. The moment I came home I scrubbed it of my skin.
Maybe it's my skin type, I don't know - I've had the same experience with some of the citrusy-type perfumes, where they smell like a male sweat on me. H o r r i b l e.
Also, I couldn't feel anything floral, nothing calming or fresh.
Long story short, as I've seen, many ladies love it, and I am sad it doesn't work for me. I think it's not good for a blind buy, but, unluckily for me (:D), it's long lasting and strong.

Dominatoarea

So sexy and feminine. Lasts all day!

violetsss

Pretty and unique fragrance I like that distinctive note, just think that the bottle doesn't suit. Would be percieved differently in a less pretentious shape.

Cerysagain

I have had this for a while now and can't smell what others are smelling. On me it smells warm, earthy, moist and overripe on opening, I guess the red fruit and earthy jasmine? Then as it settles the deep, sweet florals come out to play. I find this dark and rich, not saccharine and candy. I layered it with kayala vanilla royal for fun and it muted the initial hard hitting smokeyness and long lasting weird sinus hitting acidity I get from the vanilla royal and became a warm, fruity, woody cocoon. Love it.

MCW7

This is beautiful on the dry down, opening a bit synthetic. It's a good perfume better than most.. very underrated. Once it dries down absolutely beautiful. Uplifting, juicy, creamy.. very pleasant

Andjelija

On my skin it reminds me somehow of Muglier Womanity 🤔

smithaker

Was hoping this would be juicy and interesting for summer, but the red fruits note faded away quickly to leave behind a floral scent heavy on peony. That, in itself, is not a bad thing....just not what I was hoping for.

productwhore

I think this scent is SO fun and happy! Makes me feel youthful and energetic, and smells very niche to me. I find it a grown up whimsical experience. To me it smells like delicious fruit roll ups that would be served at lux, adult party.

Lively. Juicy. Smooth. Unique. Artistic. Deliciois.

katiesimpsonhair

I love this scent it smells aquatic with violet to me. I love the bottle but hate the cheap looking lid on the top, it spoils the bottl so I’ve removed it. This gives me memories of Lanzarote 🌵

Nocciola23

This perfume seems to get a bad rap (judging by the rating) but it's actually nice. It's a sweet, fruity floral, like ripe strawberries and peony.
I see a lot of people have compared it to My Burberry which to me is crazy. I have both and I don't pick up on any similarities.
If it should be compared to any other Kurkdjian fragrance it would be most similar to Burberry Her. It has the strong strawberry and ambroxan vibe.

The bottle is interesting, but to me it doesn't gel with the scent itself. To me this scent is pink or nude - not blue and dark.

Edit: the more I wear it, the more I get annoyed with it. It's like a watered down version of Burberry Her which I already have.

I blind bought this and am so glad I did. It is so unique and intriguing. It has a fruity, fizzy nature to it. There is nothing like this in my collection. Risking describing this as juvenile (which it is not), but it gives me a Pop Rocks candy vibe. That crackly, sweet, explosive quality to it as it hits your nose. Super interesting. I now want to try the Intense version.

Jennswen

This was a blind buy, and I am so happy I risked it. The deciding factor was someone said it was like My Burberry Black. To my nose, it must be the same jasmin that Kurkdjian uses in both to make it have that familiar yet mysterious scent..... Some sort of Kurkdjian magic!
My Burberry Black is my favorite perfume of all time, and my perfume addiction is because of my pursuit of perfumes that give me the same feeling.
If My Burberry Black is a beautiful woman in a black dess entering a wet forest while eating an overripe peach that drips down her hand as she transforms into a Burtonesque dark fairy with the sunlight streaming through the trees while the moss and the wet leaves crunch underneath her feet. ... Then, Kenzo World is the same beautiful woman leaving the wet forest, dressed in a see-through white dress, entering a field of flowers, and floating up into the clouds. This is special. I'm getting a backup bottle.
If anyone can suggest other perfumes like this one, I would love to experience them.

LavenderMilk

It's soft fruity, but there is a subtle plasticky suffocating element to the scent, so I just gave it to my cousin because she liked it and didn't feel that odd quality. I do like it, but somehow it smells wrong to me, the more of it on me, the worse.

Jernê Knowles

Say what you will, but Kenzo World is V-I-D-A-! An extremely fresh and delicious perfume, with well-divided notes, owner of a Kenzo style fixation and a kilometric trail that I have to see to believe! I hope that it will last a long time in the House's portfolio and that it will not be discontinued easily.

Right from the start it presents a delicious fruit salad and nuances of red fruits, but with a sour and specifically bitter background as a subtle curtain. It tastes a little sweet too, but nothing uncomfortable or overtly gourmand; This is beautiful here, it's worth having it.

In the ❤ it is an exuberant floral that is divided into two moments, the first, namely a white floral stained by aspects of dirt, even Jasmine odor, being fruity floral and with a powdery background, a characteristic present in most Kenzo. The Peony in it is what stands out the most, it really shines and exudes master cleanliness, a very beautiful pink floral scent, with an air of dewy Lily-of-the-Valley on spring days! Sublime!

In parting, I feel in this fragrance a portentous aroma of sensual Musk, a touch of natural Amber that emanates a velvety touch that works like a second skin. I can still feel the aroma of Red Berries amidst flowers and a slightly fresh and fine wood that provides a subtle and special bed as a farewell to this brilliant perfume that will stay in my Wardrobe for good!

Andy224

Very unique and interesting. Lasts a long time and the bottle is adorable.

malikun

Tested this a duty free, on my skin so I am sure it was a real batch. To my nose World was too generic and uninspiring, "fruitchuli" as someone described it. I was lured by the attractive bottle and intriguing name, but was disappointed, especially since it is house like Kenzo and Francis Kurkdjian :( I am still surprised to see so many dislikes, but oh well

chimidoro

I think the bottle I got may have turned.
That's the only excuse I'm coming up with.

Anybody know if it's usual for this to have an undercurrent of "off" white musk and a champagne-esque alcoholic twinge lurking?

I smell mostly light, airy, jammy berries and watermelon.
Not much else.
It's kinda nasty. Not pleasant.

It wasn't a blind buy, or so I thought.
I believe the one I tested (a few years back) may have been the darker green bottle, not this....

This has no body to it, no weight.

And to think that I insulted Good Fortune by V&R, when that's a million times better than this!
😭🤦✌️👎
(Both seem to me to be gunning for appeasing the same character typeset/crowd.)

Anybody else experienced a "gone off white musk" element to this? That strange caramelized note that comes about when a musky scent (generally with citrus top) has turned?

stephanie_hplove

I love the bottle so much that I went ahead and blind bought it. OMG It’s so strong and the ambroxan made me nauseous. It is a nice scent, in my not trained nose opinion, YSL Mon Paris is a similar but toned down version of this. I liked it, but couldn't wear it. I guess It didnt sit well on my skin. It’s strong, fruity and woody at the same time. Interesting and daring.

Milena94

I love most Kenzo perfumes, so I wanted to like this one too. And I did at first spray, so I bought it. But I got tired of it after a while. It’s very different from the other fragrances. It's less balanced and much stronger, you get nauseous when you spray it early in the morning or on hot days. I have recognized it on others, but it doesn’t go well with every skin chemistry. The ambroxan is interesting to me, but you have to be in the mood for it. I like the eye shaped bottle, but had to repair the pearl, it fell off after a few months.

jeannebelmondo

Very bizarre scent! I've been smelling a lot of mall floral fruity and fruitchouli samples lately and didn't even bother to write anything because of how boring and derivative they all are.

Not this though -- it almost smells like what a berry-scented vinyl skirt mixed with burnt ashes would smell like? It's very, very ashy and dry and smoky, and this combined with a very girly cheap body spray berry is definitely unlike anything I've ever smelled before. I'm not sure if I even like it, but it definitely smells way weirder than your usual pink colored designer snoozefest.

It's burnt, chemical, ashy, dry, resinous, but also medicinal, fruity, infantile, and candy sweet. It's a really weird combination, and I definitely understand why it's not really liked. But hey, at least it smells like something. Almost smells like one of those experimental perfumes from Comme des Garçons that are barely meant to be worn.

Uhh, I don't really like it, but it's DEFINITELY not generic.

Myriam asel

A summer and spring perfume, the start is a bit heavy on the red fruits wich may give it a synthetic vibe, but then it gets mellowed by the floral notes and the jasmine. Give it time to develop, it is fresh sweet and musky. It is for the crazy girl there who wanna enjoy their life to the fullest, the one who wanna laugh loudly under the sun rays and live in an unapologetical way. That's what I picture when I smell this perfume. Enjoy it...

Marie76

Both my daughters love this perfume. It's unspecifically sweet and very intense. Lasts for ages. A bit heady and too sweet for my taste.

Neryumo

Such a cool promising unusual AD, beautiful bottle and such a boring, whatsoever generic scent itself. I mean how?

abbieclark67

Best of all floral compositions ever. Kenzo World is a pure floral fragrance for women with the opening notes of red fruits, heart notes of floral notes and peony and Egyptian Jasmine while the dry down is simply ambroxan. Few notes that are well-blended which make it simple yet elegant. This fragrance is sweet, fresh and floral which is superbly pleasant and makes one feel happy, joyful and fresh. Mostly, I prefer wearing it in summer and spring or any other hot day as this brightens up my day along with making me feel fresh and lively. Btw it's safe for gifting and bling buy as it is light and easy to wear kind of fragrance. I love the amazing bottle and elephant on the sprayed cap. This lasts for a long time and silage is superb too. Decent and adorable beauty!

tamatomoca

This is what ground down box of nerds would smell like. Intoxicating! Also agree that the sweetness that feels sticky is a bit reminiscent of BR540. An easy every day scent.

bel.gravia

Interesting. Has that airy amber quality like Baccarat Rouge but smells of course completely different to it. KENZO World is an undefined floral fruity scent with airy amber. It gets better as it dries down. Berries and amber come out.

Vertsu

i like it when sprayed, the dry out is sickening to me, i think i dont like ambroxan.

mirisfrik

I’m a bit suprised how some people feel reasemblence with My Burberry or My Burberry Black.
To me, it is almost the same as Kenzo World Intense, and both are very simmilar to Gucci Rush (red bottle). The same plastic-Candy smell.
It’s nice, but could be a bit longer-lasting. But That’s the problem with almost any by Kenzo

maritzza

Smells very floral and sharp at least on my skin. The lasting power is poor. Nothing special in my opinion. I think this would suit anyone that enjoys floral and berry notes regardless of age.

paola.garrido

I love Kenzo but this one i regret, I used it for 1 year and soon I walk out of the door I can’t feel anything so to me is just the top notes I won’t buy it again.

btriss

It's interesting how your nose works. My cousin wore this in 2016 and I could not get enough of it. I really liked this perfume. She bought it for me as a birthday gift. I wore it everyday then and stopped when I found a new perfume.
My bottle is half full and I decided to try it again, no biggie right? Omg. That floral is so nauseating I was embarrassed to even wear it on the bus. It's so strong and lasted forever. I'm gonna sell this ASAP.

rahimajabeen

The notes totally attracted me, and luckily I was able to get a small sample. OMG this was so strong and cloying. On the first whiff, it smelled sweet and overtly fruity, which I wasn't totally averse too, but in a few minutes I think the ambroxan made a strong appearance and it felt so artificial and annoying. I couldn't get rid of the sharp tinge. It lingered all day. I get the intention behind the concoction, but I think it didn't quite turn out the way it seems to have.

nuusmells

I didn't like this the first few times I tested it but thought I'd give it a sniff once again. This is over-the-top synthetic red berries, which fade in about 5 minutes to reveal synthetic unidentifiable florals. Francis can say it's like the "sfumato in the Mona Lisa", but I stand by "synthetic unidentifiable florals." I'm finding that I'm not a fan of Francis Kurkdijian in general. Say what you want, I just think his nose and my nose are not sympatico.

Swett7sour

Slight disappontment in Kenzo, nevertheless it should have its customers (it is a good aromat, but nothing unique). It was a quick airport buy, therefore I did not have enough time to discover this product. It is fresh berries, violet and little annoying flowers, wood and some praline, bitter, sweet, fresh. For a young lady. The bottle will last forever, because it is a perfume for a mood and very long lasting. The quality is outstanding (as always for Kenzo) and the drydown of World is nice and long and better than it's beginning. I am not a fan of this, but if someone is - You can buy a copy of it (Avon Imari Eclipse for 10EUR), smells exactly the same, but lasts maybe 2 hours.

andrUTZA

I had a mini of 5ml of this. I expected for a nice smell from the notes and from the house Kenzo but all I got was a sickening sweet fragrance with red fruits. Very cheap smell and very strong. I could not get read of it. I just could not wear it so I throw it and kept only the bottle for my collection. One of the worst I've ever tryed unfortunatly.

missogi

I don't get the hate this gets. This is a nice, fresh floral. Perfect as a signature scent, easy to wear, ideal for spring and summer, maybe for someone in their 20s. I really like it in the opening, but found it not original enough later on to buy a full bottle - given everything else I have in my collection. But it's a nice, easy reach fragrance, definitely very likeable. I can't imagine anyone disliking it. Very safe blind buy for a fresh, uplifting floral for spring and summer.
Overall, this Kenzo World line is much better than its ratings here.

Kline

Kenzo's World was a surprise to me since this is not the kind of fragrance I would wear. I'm drawn to fruity/sweet/musky or rose/jasmine florals. But I do love the eye shaped bottle; very Salvador Dali, which is why I was drawn to this perfume.

But with World, the perfume is fresh when first sprayed and very pleasant. I than catch Lychee fruits, which is surprising since Lychee doesn't appear in the description. (Lychee is an oriental fruit known for it's sweet floral flavour, it has a textured pink skin, a small amount of white translucent fruit with large stone, about the size of a grape). I than get what I could describe as a freshness similar to toothpaste which is odd, but I find toothpaste not unpleasant so I accept this. In the mellow base notes I can really get a kind of aquatic-ness which aids in the fresh over-all quality of the perfume.

Beautiful, but I don't know if I'd get this one again.

I'm a mess

Super Ripe, Tart, Sour strawberry/ red berry like you are taking out a frozen strawberry from your freezer then let the ice melt off in the sun. Gradually getting warmer and even more ripe. The sourness and tartness begins to melt away with the ice and the sweetness hugged by floral rises up.
The dry down is gorgeous and It’s really opaque like when you inhale it there is something back the berry up.
This is my first encounter with Ambroxan which I suspect is what that opacity came from, It’s hard to explain but its like a musky amber??? IDK 🤷♀️ I like it but totally understand why some people don’t, It’s interesting same with this scent as a whole
This scent has a young spirit, isn’t serious but not juvenile nor light. They’re cool, confident, intense, know themselves and what they’re doing, They just don’t tense themselves up and navigate through the scene with humor and boldness.Quite Charming!🍓

Pez_Enelrio

For me this is somewhere between armani sí and my burberry, with a bit more fruityness than any of them

masako_30

What kept me for years away from Kenzo World beauty, was the black rubbery cap in total contrast to the beautiful shade of light blue of the bottle, and the golden marble of its iris, a marvel to my eyes.
Everything considering that I own Edt and had both Intense version and Power, so this thing is inexplicable.
The scent is a maceration of leaves and fruit, which I don't want to understand, just exhibit proud 'cause in few we choose it, and for is a sublime cranberries aromatic macerate and there's nothing I can add.
Love is blind, its sense of smell uncompromising, so much so that one day the fuse has been lit, and love blossomed although I thought that summer and heat were not suitable for it.
Exquisite. Beautiful.

Bouquet Bleu

When I tested it, before looking at the notes, I expected something aromatic. It is a medicinal smell that reminds me post Soviet pharmacies. Wait, now I do get some jasmine. But the price is too high for this ambroxane mix with some drops of florals and berries here and there .

MK55555

I get the sample of this and trying this first time on the paper was a bit meh to me. It felt sweet but plasticky. But on my skin it gets warm and sugary like sweet skin scent. I find it very sexy to me. One of my favorites scents that make me feel very put together.

isabella_andromeda

I know this is a divisive scent but it's honestly my all-time most-wanted "must have a full bottle" perfume on my list... I get tons and tons of berries, obviously - but tart, sour cranberries rather than cutesy strawberries - and it's kinda peppery too along with all the flowers IMO. It's a red lightning bolt of a fragrance and I love how unsubtle it is; the freshness comes through on cooler summer nights and under A/C.

Also, I legitimately adore the bottle and won't hear a bad word said about it - while I wouldn't blind buy this (ESPECIALLY not for a fragrance aficionado), if you really like this bottle you may be somewhat more likely to enjoy the fun, inelegant, fizzy juice inside.

AmbuEnak

this Enigmatic perfume....

this red berry red grapes Just little bit strange On me... for me perfume has no gender so i still able to wore it

but since this created by Francis Kurkdjian
the curiosity getting High for some reasons.

PlanetGrl

This is such an odd smelling fragrance out of the box, that jasmine paired with that ambroxan makes a weirdly chemical concoction that’s just gross to me. Soapy and sour like a fruit juice that’s fermented. It made me a bit nauseous truthfully and I didn’t dare put it on my skin because of that. A cool bottle but not a safe blind buy at all.

theuntrainednose

I own a sample.

---

I cannot wear it.

This one is odd, mixing sour berries and something vaguely soapy (maybe the ambroxan) like Guerlain Insolence, but Kenzo World, for me, crosses the line from Weird Intriguing to Weird Nauseating. I don't enjoy it. I can see that it will be divisive, and I can understand where the perfumer intended to go with the composition (a floaty, abstract sour berry mixed with abstract flowers), but it nauseated me so much I washed it off.

May work for you, though. Just try to sample it before committing to a full bottle. I would not recommend blind buying.

Bibi_S

Kenzo World is a fragrance that in my opinion doesn't match the bottle and the avantgarde, upbeat and kind of weird ad and concept. It's a toned down fragrance, very fresh that I would wear only late spring and summer. I think it's perfect for a hot weather holiday at the beach and can be worn everyday at the office, if you don't want to offend anyone. I can't really detect any flowers, but sweet strawberries with loads of ambroxan. To me it's super similar to Emporio Armani Diamonds. I think it's an OK perfume but for a 'warmer months-strawberry-fresh(er)' fragrance I will stick to Burberry Her which I love!

ShinningLightOfThunder

This is beautiful green scent! It is fresh with a dash of sweetness. Peony is the most noticable for me.

fleader

I think the people who call this perfume unoriginal are selling it a bit short... it's pretty rare to find such an unapologetically shallow perfume, I think. Vapid, even, or soulless. Those don't have to be bad things. This perfume is a vindication of shallowness. Almost lonely in how delicious yet insubstantial it is. So sweet and addictive yet disconnected from real life, head in the clouds. A lone girly girl.

This is the perfume version of Red Bull for breakfast.

I grow nose-blind to this very quickly, probably because the fragrance is so shallow and doesn't mutate much. So this tends to be something I will wear more to smell nice for strangers than for myself. It does have good staying power. It starts off more salty and punchy but it dries down to be more cozy and ambery. I agree with scentualmango: I sometimes do get a Barbie doll smell from this. But I like Barbie doll smell, and anyway I think it goes well with the perfume's whole persona.

I feel ambivalently about this scent, if you can't tell. I started craving it soon after I took home a spray card, and somehow now I have a bottle. It's so addictive, but there is no depth to it. This is a perfume that will arouse your appetite but never satisfy it. Like Tantalus thirsting in Hades... like anyone in love, really...

I love it. I have no choice.

12345678910

This has been one of my main fragrances for a few years, and I am obsessed. It is smells like red berries and what I'm guessing is ambroxan out of the bottle, but also smells unidentifiably amazing. On my skin, it just gets better over time, and lasts for 4-5 hours, although I sometimes still smell it later on.

This is not a safe blind buy from what I've seen in the reviews, but if you love it, you love it a lot.

scentualmango

I am not impressed. It definitely is a scent that is “different” in a not-so great way, at least on my skin. It’s a weird spicy and almost masculine leaning than I expected with the notes. Unfortunately I didn’t smell an authentic strawberry nor a fresh or blooming floral scent. It just smelled like a Barbie dolls hair, plastic and synthetic.

Joani_Cheddar

A fruit zing fragrance almost like a Zotz candy. Fun fruity sweet salty w a sophisticated sex appeal - the Kenzo twist on an otherwise girly perfume. It reminds me of a ukulele, duck boots, a yellow umbrella with pink polka dots, rays of sunshine, and red jolly ranchers. A offbeat but joyful delight.

lisajmunro

This perfume is STRANGE. It starts off kind of nice.. I guess.. Quite strawberry-sweet in a similar way to Burberry Her (but not as nice in my opinion) but then it gets SWEET. Like way too sweet. Sickly sweet. In a really weird way. I don't understand it and I don't know how to describe it but I don't like it. As @Rozalina said in her review, I can’t imagine someone thinking “yeah, a human would wear this” after smelling it!

SBASH

I like this scent but it immediately reminded me of two other perfumes. It smells like Coach New York EPD and a bit like Fendi L'Aquarossa. It's got a rosy, strawberry sweet scent but spritz with care, it's quite strong. I'm a fan.

Madyana

I love Kenzo’s eyes, their personality and performance, this ones too.
Funny in itself, I was looking for a watermelon / cucumber scent for the summer that would be absolutely smooth, watery and sweet, yet not being very youthful ... after a few failed attempts I gave up and ordered this berry scent, but ... No good Day! this was exactly what I was looking for!
For me, this opening is mostly a fresh cucumber and the drying resembles a sweet cucumber or melon/berries on a maybe a bit milky and mostly kind "plastic" base, which I also smell in the intense version, and which I really like very much!
On my skin, that milkiness dries slightly acidic (but not bitter at any point! ) and together with the wooden base, it balances the sweetness without any sharpness, which, for example, notes of tea / tobacco in fragrances of this style usually do.
Pretty plain scent? maybe, but for me this Baby is full of unique.❤️

mellyv1973

Very simple, but pleasant & feminine. This is a fruity/peony combo with moderate sillage & moderate longevity. Enjoyable, but not unique or too exciting.

arqnataliaferrer

at first spray the berries and sweetness combine with the ambroxan, and that was a very strange combination, but i was appealed to it. i think berries are mixed with some similar smells like caramel and flowers but berries + ambroxan is definitely a not expected twist. I saw reviews that clasiffied kenzo world like a unisex fragrance, and i agree in the way the ambro tend to give a "masculin" vibe.
blind buy for 20 usd 1 oz, i liked this weird perfume.
EDIT: in clothes remains fruits and florals, in skin remains musk.

gtabasso

I like this. Tart berries. Vanilla. Floral. A bit aquatic. Salty vanilla berries.

at first my mom bought this perfume for herself but i didn't like it that much. Than after 5-6 months, i got sick of my current perfume and i was looking for a unique perfume. i ordered sun by jil sander with very big hopes but hated it so so much and i was disappointed, then i wanted to try Kenzo World again just to smell something and boom! i fell in love with it omg! i can almost like eat it:) so juicy, young, sexy smell. loved the red berries. i now know one thing for sure; perfume is a very relative and subjective thing and your liking can drastically change even in 5 months. but if you're young i think you should give it a try:) highly recommended!

Amy Ann

I bought it after seeing the ad on YouTube, believing that it is a perfume that makes you step on anything, to believe you are a mountain of power, confidence and madness ......Nee
It has nothing to do with this. It's the smell of vanillate strawberries tart with a little larch on top.I think the ad was about drinking it. Or maybe about the outrage of putting larch over the tart.
Disappointing, I expected to argue with the statues in the center of Geneva after I perfumed myself with it.

AMajeedQT

Sweet and tart red fruits, with a strong green and floral accord.

This is a lovely fruity, green, floral, sweet scent. It sounds generic and it is not groundbreaking but it quiet appealing.

There is juicy sweet berries-like fruitiness without being cloy, accompanied by soft flowers with a nice touch of characterful, leafy bitterness.

The ambroxan is not very obvious but you do get its cool and airy feeling. Very lightly and is secondary to the fruits and flowers.

The final drydown I smelled 12 hours later was synthetic strawberries. Similar to strawberry car fresheners. The green and floral accords disappeared, unfortunately. It is still a pleasing smell to some.

I agree that it can be bit too harsh, so spray lightly. In fact, it did make me cough once when I inhaled the smell deeply off a blotter, and that is not a common occurrence for me.

Quite versatile, I feel this can work in cool and warm weather, but not on very hot days.

Big "Like"!

Wanted to love this for the cool evil eye bottle and the fact that Kurkdjian is the nose behind it, but Kenzo World is one of the worst perfumes I’ve ever smelled. First spray: super potent strawberry chapstick or candy. Fine, some people like that. But immediately after it turns into overripe, mushy strawberries that smell sour, salty, rotten. Scrubber 10000%. Can’t imagine someone sniffing this thinking “yeah, a human would wear this.”

katsong

Wow I'm smelling My Burberry Black and Kenzo World next to each other and the dry downs are very similar! Kenzo world is a little more "buttery" with less obvious florals but they are 90% similar after a full day worth of wear.

lauramtorrelli

The first 5 minutes after spraying this on my skin were horrible. It has the same sharp polarizing vibe that I got from Mugler's Aura. I think maybe the Ambroxan note was what I didn't care for. I was going to wash it off but decided to wait a little bit and see if it got better. 5 minutes in and I could smell the floral notes, in 10 minutes it had turned into a lovely sweet, slightly floral scent. I simply can't stop smelling my wrist it is so good. Only problem is I literally have to bury my nose in my wrist to smell it. But it does smell amazing.

Stwmylos

I saw a bottle of Kenzo World staring at me at my grandma's house, so i sprayed it out of curiosity.
I dont understand the hate, it has an intense sweetness which can be a bit annoying, but it is not bad.

The first time I saw this fragrance in the store for some reason I couldn't test. So when I got home I looked it up on fragrantica to see what other people thought about it.The impression I got is that it was terrible, "mature", sickly sweet, etc.

What steered me away was the "sickly sweet" I hate those kind of fragrances so I ignored it. After a while I got curious and one of my lovely swap friends sent me a little 1 ml decant. OMG! I loved it. It's funny how fragrances are so subjective. It is a sweet fragrance, but I don't see it as a gourmand. I see it more of a elegant floral. I am not sure which one of the notes is the strongest, but I absolutely love it. It stays on my skin for a long time, a friend of mine visited and said that this scent is another level (meaning that it's not the typical syrupy sweet fragrances being released lately). I personally love it, I purchased a full bottle of it and I can't wait to use it this fall to go to the living room (LOL, since I can't go anywhere because of this quarantine)

katsong

Wow, this is such an interesting fragrance. It does that peek-a-boo thing that many of of Francis Kurkdjian's fragrances do: in BR540, in Burberry Her, where the fragrance is soft yet sharp, and can can fill the room without being pungent.

It does open up with red berries.

It dries down to smell like a combination (if that's possible) of a slightly aquatic, powdered doughnuts topped with buttered popcorn!!! I'm surprised that no one else has mentioned this.

fonty_o

This fragrance is so polarising to me! When you first spray it, it's fruity, sweet, (not in a gourmand way) and beautifully floral. It's almost a 50/50 floral fruity scent.
But then...
It becomes SWEET. like, sickly sweet. It's not a foody, fruity, floral, sweet. It's a sweetness that is almost indescribable, and I think it's a mix of the ambroxan with the other notes. The drydown is flowery sweetness with a touch of fruity sweetness.
Even typing this, I realise that my review seems like it's not making sense. I honestly can't describe how it smells in words.

I purchased this as a sample to begin with and sprayed it in the usual spots - neck, behind ears, cleavage.
I should never, EVER have sprayed it in my cleavage. The scent is so strong. I don't know what people mean when they say it isn't strong. This is beast mode if sprayed on a larger chested person in that area. The warmth makes this super overwhelming. I mean, it's literally wafting up to your nose. I actually had to wash it off. It dialled it down a couple of notches, but not a lot.
I put this in my dislike list. It smelled great at the start, but became too much.

Fast forward a few months later...

I sprayed this on my wrists and behind my ears.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!
I LIKE this scent. I can appreciate it for what it is. It's still a different type of sweet, and a bit sickly sweet to me, but only if I put my nose right up to my skin.
If I don't put my nose right up to it, it smells like a beautiful fruity peony, with an insanely strange sweet ambroxan smell. I love ambroxan. It just seems to react differently to me in this composition. The ambroxan seems to amp up the other notes to the extreme. Ambroxan isn't even sweet, but damn, it brings out the fruits and flowers in this!

This is long lasting on me, (approximately 8 hours) and projects about 6 feet or a tad more. The projection is almost enough to fill a room for the first hour and slowly dials back.

Don't judge this scent from a paper strip. It smells completely different on paper than it does with the warmth of your skin. That ambroxan will screw with your senses! This would truly overwhelm someone in the heat!

Sorry if this review doesn't make much sense. It's not as linear as some others may make you think! I am finding it hard to describe. I love and like it at the same time. But hated it when it was warm and under my nose.
Make of that what you will lol.
If you're in Australia, msg me for a free tiny decant. This isn't a blind buy.

miinieeee

So bad.. i'm so sorry if this is your favorite but this is sickening.

kenzo, i'm sorry but this is nightmare in a bottle.

qofb

I love this, maybe because I love peony and this is a really interesting take on it. Kenzo World is really different to any other perfume that I own too. It's soapy and comforting, like a warm bath: it smells aquatic yet warm, floral yet soapy. I remember when I first tried it, I just kept smelling the card, I couldn't put it down and I ended up going back the next day to buy a 50ml bottle.

I know the bottle gets a lot of hate, but I think it adds to the other-worldliness of the fragrance. I guess that the ambroxan also adds to that, as it's supposed to be very different on different people. For me, the scent in drydown is unisex, one spritz lasts all day and it does have some good projection. I love all of that too! I don't own anything else from Kenzo, it's not a house that I remember trying anything else from that I have ever liked, but I would really recommend giving this one a chance.

ashleyc23

I like this. I don't love it, but I don't hate it. It's definitely not an everyday perfume for me. I only need one spray and that's almost too much. But it's pretty. Super sweet and floral. I get no distinct notes. I get no berries or ambroxan. It reminds me of a generic floral shampoo/conditioner in a way.

I would say test this before buying. I can see this being headache inducing to some people because of how strong in can be initially. I can also see a lot of people hating the sweetness of this.

Czarcasm

Kenzo World is a strange scent. It's sweet but at the same time it smells of rotten red berries topped with powdered sugar. It's something that a 14 year old would wear but it also has a weird talc-like smell that reminds me of an old persons bathroom.
It's fairly inoffensive, yet easily dislikeable.

Someone else said this reminds them of scented Ikea candles and I'd have to agree. The red berries candles smell very similar to Kenzo World.

I've worn this for quite a few times but I'm still unable to make up my mind about this fragrance. It's something different but at the same time I don't feel like it deserves a place on my shelves. I'll probably end up giving this away to a friend who does find it enjoyable in every way.

Tessa03

I blind bought this because the quarantine is driving my addiction into high gear. I was ordering the EDT version and reviews on the EDP had me curious more than anything. I remember vaguely having tried both on in store a long time ago and could not remember which one I liked. I was afraid of ordering the wrong one so ended up ordering both. I will agree with the majority and say that this is an odd fragrance for sure. I wore it once and still don't know if I will keep it. To my nose it seems very aquatic and loud. I don't get much berries from it and I am not sure I would call this sweet. I will have to test it further on a day where I have nowhere to go (which is most days LOL). Wether I keep this or not - as previous reviews state - it is NOT blind buy safe. I should've listened to that advice!

UPDATE: I had to get rid of this. This is strong & loud. It’s all I could smell all day on myself and the scent lingered on my clothes for days! In the end there was something about this that was a bit off putting to me (maybe the ambroxen?) I couldn’t get past that note.

giakerr

I’m going to start with the positive. I absolutely love the bottle- the “all seeing eye” is very en vogue. This also has major projection. You only need a squirt and it fills the room.
However... this is super sweet. Too sweet. The berries are so sweet that it smells like decay. The opening made my stomach do a cartwheel- I’ve never had this experience before.
I can appreciate that this is something different than most designer perfumes... but it’s a major dislike for me.

mhdavis

MY GOD this is one of the most awful fragrances I’ve ever smelled. Like if my dog ate a bunch of rotten fruits and flowers and then puked them up. Absolutely repulsive. Vile. Abhorrent. A confused, nauseating mess with the same mishmash of decayed fruit and obnoxious quality of MJ decadence that evokes the same violent reaction from me. I spiked the sample vial into the trash can and scrubbed my skin raw in the shower to get this putrid concoction off me. I hope I never have to smell it again in my life.

sommersne

I am a 23 year old woman/girl who mostly likes immature girly scents. I LOVE Chloe signature, La vie est belle, Midnight fantasy, Curious, Ralph Lauren Blue etc.

On me this smell young fruity and juicy. It smells like a good quality celebrity perfume aimed at girls in their teens and 20s. For me - thats just what i like. It is what gives me the most compliments and makes me feel happy and playful. I think the low rating is very undeserved. It might be because of the "immaturity" of this fragrance. But some people can appreciate a fruity, juicy, sweet not to complicated scent.

This is a 9/10 for me. Could be one of my loves. Lasts well, nice projection, pleasant scent. I feel like it is easy to like.

pisuchan

I'm goona buy this to wear on days I can't wear other scents, i'm finding it quite calming actually. Smells like unripe strawberries and cold wet sand.

gmstrack

Kenzo World opens with delicious berry jam wedged next to cold, watery flowers. The hyperrealistic berry jam is bright and mouthwatering—so intense that one can almost taste the tartness. As the fragrance dries down, it starts to build a transient architecture. Like a tent pitched in the backyard, the juxtaposition of the almost soapy floral notes and the tart berries creates a sense of space. One gets a feeling of coziness while being exposed to some of the elements. For example, a subtle breeze or ray of sun penetrates the tent, but the semitransparent veil protects us from the rain and fog. Over time, the tent starts to collapse, almost deflating, and exposing molten ambroxan. The ambroxan forms an amalgam with the skin, swirling in a thick vortex, dragging the berry jam and flowers down in a nauseating spiral. At this point, the composition is dominated by ambroxan and the original sense of space is replaced by warm, flattened molecules.

Overall, I enjoy Kenzo World as fun contemporary fruity-floral. If I owned a bottle, I would reach for it occasionally, but I am not excited enough to put this on my full bottle list. I am slowly becoming a fan of the perfumer, Francis Kurkdjian, and this composition makes me excited to sniff more of his work.

3.5/5 Recommended to people into fruity-florals and ambroxan

cookygirl

Very interesting and surprising.
I hated World when I sniffed the bottle at the shop but DD bought home a sample so I felt duty-bound to try it out.
I actually liked it on me.
I get the fruit and the amber and also pick up on what another reviewer described as a tobacco note.
I found this scent all in all very agreeable even if it is not the type of scent that I normally wear or would ever purchase.
Surprise number two was how it disappeared so quickly.
On me World is a heavy, saturated scent and I expected it to last but it didn't.
A few hours ago I sprayed World on one wrist and Joy Intense on the other.
I can still smell Joy Intense (to my chagrin) but World is long gone.

lnoskin

I am very confused by this. I sprayed it on a paper at bloomingdales and loved it so they made me a sample. Then a few weeks later I sprayed it on my wrist and I got very heavy florals, almost grandma-like. Then about 45 mins later I smelled it again and I liked it. I agree with Annah7, it kinda gives me Si vibes. I think I will pass on buying this, I like Si a lot better. But make sure to test this throughout the day, do not blind buy this or buy it directly after smelling.

After purchase review: I love the frag, think it`s original (for the price). Yes I had to overcome the awful package, specially the black plastic cap and shiny ball.

But unfortunately my skin is like glass to this frag, it evaporates in a minute or so and then it`s gone for good. So no one including me can feel it. I`m really sorry but will not re purchase.

Note: I cannot smell any berries or red fruits... just this aroma that is not from nature and reminds me of rich people living their privileged lives in rich villas and exclusive restaurants....

dglightblue

this is strange, almost Mugler territory...

summer test, skin.

i get: aloe... moss?? tobacco, the type in a roll your own pouch - just in the sillage, not when i sniff up close, and fruit.
the fruit part with the kind of wood/earth back drop sort of remind me of Nomade edp from Chloe, i have also recently tried Burberry Her.

that fruit, bit of fresh, and earth -ish combo.

this lasts like a champ, not sure what i think of it.

i have the edt to do a review for too. comingup

Migalex

It does smell of red fruits pie. I find it quite pleasant. There is a note which reminds me a lot of Ungaro Apparition (also by Francis Kurkdjian) which I think in appartion is raspberry liquer, although world is powdery and Appartion is creamy. Staying power and silage seem good to me.

Palmer Eldritch

Just to add to my past review: I love wearing this for sports or gym.

Light, longlasting & doesn't smell overwhelming or cloying.

Also would like to add that the marketing for this perfume makes it seem original and niche. I can assure you it's NOT!

Nothing extraordinary, but safe & very easy to wear in warm/hot weather.

The main notes I get are sweet red fruits and peony. It is interesting and quite unique. On my skin becomes overwhelmingly sweet, but not necessarily gourmand sweet. Sweet like a sorbet of flower petals and fruits. There is something savage, wild and raw in it, like in Mugler's Aura.
I also get something green and organic, like smashed juicy flower leaves. It has that feel of an exotic flower garden after the rain, common to many Kenzo fragrances. Mostly like Jungle.
My experience with its performance was very good.
This is a different kind of a spring time fragrance, a little bit difficult to wear, so test it before.

mattmeleg

This is a unisex, floriental fall scent leaning towards the "feminine". This perfume opens warm with blue plums and dried rose petals. Beta Damascone? 5 seconds after this I detect 2 opposing forces, one warm one cool. First, the warmth of tobacco? spices, Ambroxan and other amber-wood materials. Second, this warmth is counter balanced with a cool green muguet/mellon like accord. This push and pull, warmth (ambroxan) and cool (muguet) is kept nearly transparent with an overdose of what I could only guess is galaxolide. A very clean, fresh laundry scent. Is this perfume good? Sure. It`s very well crafted. Does it smell like very high quality laundry detergent. In a way, it does. But that`s not necessarily a bad thing.

nordstorm

KENZO fragrances have never been too "over-...". A very nice, for me as a matter of fact almost a "humble" fragrance. My wife loves it.

raiza1990

Fruity, a bit airy and a bit aquatic. At the end it gets a bit powdery. Longevity and sillage aren't great. It is a pleasant but boring fragrance.
Final note: 5/10

Palmer Eldritch

Can't believe the amount of negative reviews here! Whenever I wear this I get a ton of compliments!

One thing I can say about this perfume is that it lasts a hell of a long time & the sillage is strong too.

I wear this on hot days 30 celsius plus & don't feel it's cloying at all.

Now when buying this I was looking for a fruity scent, but nothing with VANILLA, or anything like the viva la juicys

First spray: OOoooo the berries, with the faint lingering of florals. As it settles into my skin over the scent becomes more floral with a hint of ambroxan, nothing intense. However I can't really detect the jasmine.

On my skin the dominant note is definitely the fruits. But that's why I got this perfume. I wouldn't recommend blind buying though since the community is divided

relativelystoic

Warning: Not floral. I was totally attracted to the bottle and got curious with the negative reviews, thus I blind bought this perfume. How do I feel about the scent? Its not a pleaser and would need an open mind to appreciate. I feel like I am smelling fruits with a lot of sugar and honey, thick and warm on a very hot/humid day. If you live somewhere hot (35 celcius up) and wear this over summer, you might gag. Just one spray goes a long way. I swear this lingers. If I have an option, I would check this out first in the store before buying. Hahahaha well, too late for me

drawingmaniac35

Longevitywise: On my skin this survives for about 4 hours but perfumes usually tend to not last on me so respraying is something I regularly do. This is why ...
Packagewise: The bottle is simultaneously gorgeous and easy to carry around. It is interesting without being bulky and uncomfortable.
Sillagewise: The scent is pretty quiet on me which I don't mind. I like my scents to be recognised only when I hug someone or when I am just close to them. Suffocating the room is something I am usually against when it comes to my perfumes.
Scentwise: I consider myself lucky because straight out of the cap Kenzo World can be kind of disappointing. Both my best friend and my boyfriend hated it. However, when I wear it I get compliments and honestly I feel very uplifted and happy. To me it is a happy fruity floral scent. For some reason I envision light pink soap bubbles when I smell this.

genny17

Yes it is like the eye in the sky thing ! Not my favourite either ! I dont get bad vibes from it, but I don't care for it either...perfumes should just be a nice smelling juice!'

octopuskitty

My mother has this and it makes me want to throw up. So nauseating to the point where I have to open the windows when she sprays it because it stinks up the entire house. This smells EXACLY like a clean bus. You know when you get on a bus and they've used that product to clean it and it has a very distinct smell? Yeah that's what this perfume smells like and it actually has the power to make me feel bus sick because it brings back memories of being stuck on a bus for hours and hours and not being able to get off. Very obnoxious perfume. Just do a light spray ladies.

Albiretu

What a beautiful fragrance, and so underrated!
I have to admit, I had a bit of a bias against Kenzo fragrances, somehow in my mind they are associated with airy/fresh/watery florals, pretty unremarkable and fleeting (and I admit, it was a stupid bias I had), and frankly I probably would have never even tried this had I not received a sample from Sephora.

This is beautiful! I struggle to understand all the hate this is getting. I have read such terrible reviews, people even calling this horrid, and I really can't understand what there is to hate.

I agree with ACBCNTW, this would definitely be a hit in Asia, it is perfect for the heat and humidity and I know women there prefer softer and airier fragrances.

This is a pretty floral with a jammy, juicy fruity note to it. I don't find this generic, or cheap smelling, or similar to any celebrity fruity-floral...
I actually think the quality is very good, it is well-blended, original, yet at the same time very safe and appropriate for any occasion.
Sillage and longevity are good too. Well done Kenzo! I am excited to try the EDT, which I might buy because it is on clearance here in Italy and I like the bottle better :)

outofocus

I never thought I would buy a bottle that is less appealing. .. tacky cap, tacky ball. .. but after all I buy a fragrance and that I must say I love it. It reveals the Master Nose behind it. Terrible packaging (and video) and wonderful perfume.

hexed

Sparkling, fresh, sweet, creamy, fruity.
I wouldn't call it boring but it's sort of "too pretty".
Nothing to dislike but I wish the juice was just as special as the masterpiece of a bottle.

ACBCNTW

Don´t really understand all the hates here, this fresh, sweet and floral fragrance is super pleasant, can definitely foresee a success in markets like Asia, which the ladies prone to wear something fresher and brighter under the hot and humid weather. The flasco is a pure craft of art, mesmerizing. The scent simply gives me a very good mood and brighten the day up. I have to give this great launch its deserved justice!

dovey

mmm Sweet & bitter at the same time
I like it
it also has a sweet mango syrup notes in it
and strawberry jam notes as well
It's unique there is nothing like it in the market
I have a sample tester of it, the lasting power is HUGE.
I ADORE the bottle
Coming from a middle eastern background the eye with the turquoise color is something I so relate to

tropicalkuuipo

It’s ok. Not too crazy about it. Oriental florals. Musky, but not overwhelming though. Not memorable.

lmwimsatt

Ok I just tried because it's you. And it smells nearly identical to world. Forget the burberry black comparison. I hope this is helpful

kristamb

I am not a fan of this one...it reminds me of something I have tried from Avon, but I can't seem to place it...it also reminds me a bit of Jennifer Lopez's Deseo scent, which I was never big on either. Comparing the notes from Deseo and World, it makes sense that they smell similar. It is definitely different, but not in a likeable way for me. I wish I could describe this one better, but I am kind of at a loss. I am glad this was a free sample for me.

CarrieWhite

I received a sample and I thought:"I already know it's not good" because of the reviews I have read. Well, I was really surprised! I like it though...I feel like it's suitable for nights out.

Perrywinkle

Sorry to everyone but I'm loving the hate!
It means that the beautiful fruity musk that floats from my skin when I wear this perfume is special to me... well until the multitude of people that compliment me on this wrangle out of me what I'm wearing and go off to buy bottles for themselves (or their wives!) haha.
It's an absolute love for me. Thanks MFK.

PricklyAndHot

Not yummy red fruits with not charming peony. On me it rather light. Not my type(

lmwimsatt

Sobits described as musky and rosy on the main accords. Maybe the rose comes from the mahonial floral note; which I clearly see the calalillies in, but I also see light pink flower that do look kinda like light pink roses when I look close enough. But where does the musk come from? I thought ambroxan was a synthetic amber smell, and amber smells like nothing vut tree sap. That's how amber is made. So is ambroxan also supposed to smell like musk? Musk just smell like chemicals to me. I wish I could smell real musk and see of its any similar to the musk notes they use today

Emera1d

I only went to test it out of curiosity for the unusual bottle, but I bought it for the scent. At first it is very strong fruity smell, not to sweet, but still delicious. After about 15 min I can smell the peony, which is one of my absolute favourites in perfume. I think it is very well done and balanced between the fruits and florals. I cant exactly explain it but it is seems to me very different form anything else I have tested and definitely unique. It is sweet and creamy, yet fresh. It does have a very very slight soapy note, it reminds me a bit of shower gel, but it is so faint I can only smell it when I bury my nose in my skin.
Great longevity 6-8 hours on my skin and good sillage-it can fill the room with more than 2 sprays. Love the unusual bottle design, but it is a bit awkward to hold and spray.

lmwimsatt

Fake fruits, fake flowers, and fake amber. An optimistic comparison would be a cheap Burberry black. And that's being generous. I love Burberry black but this is Not a good perfume.
At wasko, the only soapy quality this has is like a children's dollar store bubble bath

waskotransportation

I purchased this blindly and it has turned out to be the BEST blind buy of my life! I already had an idea of what it would smell like as I already have Kenzo World Intense and Kenzo World EDT.

This beautiful deep scent lasts forever on my skin and I have received more compliments on this than any of my other 200 frags. Every time I wear it people are stopping me to ask what it is and where they can buy it. Tonight I sprayed about 4 sprays, did some housework and then went grocery shopping. About 2 hours into my shopping, the lady at the deli counter that was BEHIND the service line commented on it and had me write down the name. I bought mine at QVC because of the easy pay options, I LOVE Qvc.

My signature scent is Chloe New EDP and this one is a very close runner up. It does not smell like Chloe but has the same kind of vibe and is the same qualify and long lasting scent.

This is lovely but the intense is EVEN BETTER.

If I could give this 10 stars I would.

waskotransportation

Does anyone know if this has any soapy note quality to it? I have found often perfumes with peony tend to have a soapy note.

marta_ver76

The aroma is amazing, the fruit notes and flowers are felt, sweet, but not suffocating! Very cool! And persistent! The hair lasts no less than 12 hours! Clothes smell even on the next day. Registration is also happy! I recommend!

Kittenbug

Opens as green, fresh, floral, amber, with some citrus/fruit. I think of cut grass, bamboo, Rattan, white floral soap, light amber, lemon, and pineapple.

After some wear, I sense green, amber, and some sweetness.

I find it unique, soft, and wearable. It makes me think of being outside on a sunny, fall day, with the smell of fallen leaves.

(Based on a Sephora sample)

Juma

This one was put on my Dislike list after one hour of wearing it. I was eager to test as it's marked here as an weirdo... On my skin it's generic, synthetic and makes me a headache; I am very open to all genres of fragrances and I try to understand every scent, but this one is a big no. It's all of berries and artificial flowery notes- maybe is this ambroxan, I'm not an expert as many of you. Definitely not appropriate scent to buy it blind or for unexpected gift.

miafran92

I wouldn't want an eyelid sitting on my dresser but I do have to give them props for doing something a little different, though.

On to the fragrance...Where is it? I tested a couple sprays before leaving for church and I couldn't smell anything all morning. It also would get completely overwhelmed by a lot of the other perfumes I smell around church. So,I tested a double spray on one elbow when I got home. For the first minute I got a floral pear smell, but now it just smells like baby wipes. To me, with some perfumes I sometimes I get the impression that more effort went into creating the artsy bottle than the perfume, and this is one of those times.

justfloral

Sickly-sweet.
Dried pineapple cubes! and coconut cubes + candied cherries syrup + strawberry syrup + extremely sweet, "wax-y" chocolate substitute (I agree: cheapest chocolate covered cherries!!!).
Edit: I've watched the ad :) Hypoglycemic seizures?
Try it if you like Sun Moon Stars - it possessed the same syrupy sweetness (100% sugar in sugar). World is more fruity...
Sun Moon Stars World ;)

Lempi

This is my first review here in Fragrantica as this time I felt that I really must share this with you fellow Fragranticans. :) Because... I need to tell you that I BLIND BOUGHT this eye fragrance! I’ve been laughing at myself whole morning thinking about this. This is kind of a long story but I think that there might be someone who enjoys this as much as I do.

It all began a couple of weeks ago when I was at a perfume store and saw the new Kenzo World Eau de Toilette. I had seen the famous commercial before and it gave me a good laugh so I decided to test the cute looking pink edt. As I adored the powdery, innocent almond blossom note I bought the edt immediately. After that also the original Kenzo World began to interest me. I watched the video again realized that this story is exactly like my thoughts sometimes when I feel contradictory and couldn’t care less what others think about me. So somehow I knew that I will love this fragrance and ordered a full bottle from the internet. It arrived yesterday. I had some fun with myself, again, as I wanted also to “blind wear” this. That means that every time when I blind buy a fragrance I try it on skin before giving it a full wear but this morning after showering I sprayed Kenzo World for the first time full sprays to my all pulse points. And it was love at the first sniff. This fragrance is really like me. Or, actually, my World.

The controversial commercial video describes perfectly the whole evolving of the perfume. The fragrance opens with a sophisticated accord that somehow reminds me of Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Lumiére (which I adore). It fits well to a gala night but there is a little sad, kind of a mourning like undertone. Slowly, as the overwhelming ambroxan note reveals itself, the fragrance begins to change more and more modern and even schizophrenic. It begins to bloom and shows it’s empowering heart that makes you feel very confident and free! There are moments when those super feminine floral tones come forward just to make you feel feminine but at the same time the darker tones remind you all the time that you are not only feminine but also a true power woman. The nose that blended this one must be a genius!

The bottle was for me a pleasant surprise as it is made of nice frosted glass and in real life it looks much more beautiful than in the pictures. I also adore the symbolics of the name and the bottle. When you really think about the whole world and universe it makes you feel very small and meaningless but on the other hand you look at the world through your own eyes so that the world will be there for you, just reach for it by looking it eye to eye.

Este perfume es dulce, como olor a fresas frescas. Tambien es floral pero muy suave nada pesado, me recuerda un olor veraniego. Tiene buena duración.

It´s heavy, it´s sweet, it´s wonderful. One of a kind on my shelf. I think it´s the ambroxan that gives the sweet red fruits the longevity and weight. After watching the commercial I was a little hesitant....but the perfume is just as different from other perfumes as the commercial. The bottle is also a bit weird but I really recommend it!

I appreciate Kenzo's perfume in general. They are original. My ever favourite is Kenzo Flower, signature frag. since 2005. I was eager to try World. The bottle is peculiar and so is the perfume. I mean it: very peculiar perfume. I like the concept of the bottle but once holding it in my hand, it looks cheap. The pearl looks very plastic and so does the black top. Reminds me of a track wheel.

It smells synthetic to my nose to a degree that it's unpleasant. I cannot put my finger on "what is" this perfume nor on "how it" is. I would describe it as a big "non-sense". I cannot sense the pyramid. It's an overwhelming mix of notes.
I am sure though, that it might work very well on some people with the right chemistry to bear this perfume.

I strongly recommend not to blind buy it.

tori276

Really like it! Most original perfume I have smelt in ages!

To me it smells overwhelmingly of Matey bubble bath! Which is not such a bad thing! You can definitely smell the musk after a while though.

It's rather interesting, because it smells fresh and fruity, yet musky and aquatic... once for those that want something different, but don't want to stray too far from their usual scent group... seems to have something for everyone!

bronstein

State of the art female fragrance. A pleasent fruity/flowery smell without surprises. Suits women who don't dare (at least during daytime).

I would have never describe this perfume with red fruits. Kenzo world has some sort of cold freshness to it. Almost fruity but I would say lemony and minty like an icy mojito maybe? I might be crazy, oh well :D

Edit: Someone below said there is some artificial notes going on and I wouldnt agree more. That is what causes this icy freshness. I am sorry to offend anyone who likes it but both decadence eau so decadent and kenzo world are very very similar. They both remind me children perfumes slightly.
Is it necessarily bad? I think no. Whatever suits for you anyway.

fawnydawny

I'm not sure I understand what they were trying to do with the packaging and message because it just smells like a bunch of fruit. It's not bad, I do like it. But nothing special for sure.

dttk

I liked it. I sprayed tester myself and this frag reminded me CK Euphoria in a more fruity less strong way and also a bit Carven Le Parfum.

To me, Kenzo World is like a mixture of both frag with a fruitiness. Actually, I also find it similar to Ysl Mon Paris too.

Normally, I don't like fruity and sweet smells, and i don't prefer to wear this type, but i liked this one.

I don't get this much dislike though. Yes, there are many frags created before same type or similar smelling, very common, we smelled it before etc.. But this is not an awful smell anyway. Surprising for me this much dislikes.

SailorV

I usually like Kenzo fragrances. I have 4 of them in my collection right now. But the weird ad and ugly bottle didn't make me very curious for Kenzo World... The bad reviews did though. I needed to try something that gets so much hate :D

I don't really hate it, but I don't really like it either.

The scent directly from the bottle is okay. It does remind me of My Burberry and My Burberry Black, also by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian. It has the same lush, thick texture.
But on my skin two other notes unfold that make Kenzo World much less enjoyable than the My Burberry line. One is a soapy, scratchy peony and the other is a sweet and sour berry background noise. Both come in and out. One moment I can smell them, the next moment I just get a nice sweet and dark fruit and amber perfume. And then they're back again and make the scent messy and cheap smelling. Weird.
As the scent dries down after a few hours, it becomes weaker and sweeter in a sugary candy way without any distinctive notes.
I don't know, it's not as bad to me as to some reviewers, though it's nothing I'd like to wear and Kenzo can do better. I have smelled worse perfumes, but It's not elegant or sexy and doesn't smell like they put much thought in it.

Justapixel

Have you ever seen those chocolate covered cherries you can get at CVS for $1.99? If not, they are chemically soaked marischino cherries, marinated in some viscous pink liquid and coated with a shell of shiny artificial chocolate. If you eat one, the sticky mess lingers on your fingers and the whole thing explodes into a gooey, artificial disaster un your tongue
. It resembles nothing delicious-chocolate or cherry or even a real confection.

If Kenzo World perfume was food, that’s what it would be. The “red fruits” are purely artificial and chemical smelling, like the marischino cherry. There is a sparkle to it, but not a pleasant fizzy one like champagne-it’s more like an overly sweet sugar-free carbonated fruit punch, like the gluey mess surrounding the cherry. And the dry down is no different than if you’d scrubbed your tiles and left some AJAX on. It is capped off in this ugly bottle, like the chemical cherry trapped in plastic chocolate. It is, frankly, awful. And while some fragrances smell beautiful on some people and not on others, I believe this one might be universally unflattering.

In short, the fragrance is as ugly as the advertisement announcing it. Who wants to see a pretty girl in a strange dress make weird faces and dance like she has a seizure disorder? There is nothing real, or pretty, about this fragrance or anything surrounding it. Another one for the ten dollar perfume rack at TJ Maxx.

On my skin sweet pineapple ! Paradox :) ! My new love !

mypersonalharmonics

I am a bit confused. I want to like it, cause I sense some incense myrrh thing going on, but I get lost when a cherry (?) note hits me. Still, I'm intrigued.

ScarlettX

A huge disappointment for sure. The bottle looks interesting, but the scent is not even mildly good.
At least it's not strong. Smells just disappointing, that's the best word for it.
Only some synthetic floral notes and berries.

kindredspirit

Kenzo is one of my favourite houses but I can't even like this. This smells like a bunch of chemicals put together at random. It does smell like a household cleaner, and not a very nice one at that. I do not smell any flowers whatsoever.

rbalkris

Usually I like Kenzo offerings but had the misfortune of smelling a sample of this in Paris recently. It is awful, plain and simple. A synthetic disaster that smells like a household cleaner. SMH. What were they thinking? If you want to try modern and edgy take a few lessons from CDG.

everil.f

One day I love this, one day I hate this. I don't understand what's going on, I've smelled it multiple times at different branches of the same perfume store but it changes every time I smell it.

Cauda Pavonis

Boring fruity floral. What am I even smelling?? This smells like something from Avon. I'm not exaggerating, this literally smells just like Avon's Rouge. Just add a little amber in there and it's the same thing. Francis Kurkdjian, wtf are you doing??? It's not interesting enough to dislike but guys, if you like this save your money and buy Rouge.

esteban747

It opens with sharp fruits, then it starts to fluctuate between sweetness, a slight medicinal undertone and a powdery note.
The fruit notes are generic, sort of syrupy.
i don't smell much jasmine.
If you can bare the whole thing until the drydown, then you are up for a surprise. Finally, right in the end, we get the magic of Francis K. The drydown is sublime, addictive, sexy, subtle and irresistible. The bad news is that at this point it's barely perceptible.

qotsachick

I got a trial size of this from Sephora. I thought it smelled alright when I sprayed it on the card, but spraying it on myself was a completely different experience. It reminds me of a Britney Spears “Believe” perfume I had in high school, only much worse. Ten minutes into my work day and I already attempted to scrub it off with Dawn, but it’s still sticking around. I’m not looking forward to wearing this all day. I

BlueFan

Hahaha at the review from Bad_Girl_Bex! "Golden Wonder Prawn Cocktail crisps"! - I just sniffed my wrist and actually, properly laughed out loud. That is such an accurate description of this perfume. Eight hours later, I'm getting bubble gum and the sort of powder smell that dog poo bags have.

I felt like this was a sillage monster on me, so apologies to the person next to me - and probably three rows back - in the cinema tonight, three and a half hours after I sprayed this on myself.

All in all, a fail from me. The bottle design is as naff as too, with the little dangly eye thingy getting all caught up in the monstrous, ungainly cap. Even if this was a great fragrance, I wouldn't want to look at that bottle every day.

It reminds me a bit of Zadig & Voltaire "This is Her", a similar sweet, sticky perfume, although that does have a slightly cleaner smelling dry down than the Kenzo.

pauroj

it is fruity sweet doesn't stand out at all , sillage is minimal is just very bland and honestly a bit generic , no one will ask what you are wearing it smells like a ton of other perfumes

SofiaMnl

To me it is very close with My Burberry eau de toilette. I tested both on my skin and nobody could tell the difference.

d'odora

Cannot believe the sales assistant at the airport sprayed me with this and told me 'It is far far better, even nicer than Chanel'. All I got was sickeningly sweet fruity floral (according to her it is peony and hyacinth) which lasted on me all day throughout the flight. The card that I placed in my bag is still smelling strong after 5 weeks - nooo!! Think about those cheap chemical like celebrity perfumes multiplied by strength 100X.

littlemissferret

All I get throughout is sugar water and artificial cranberries. That's a nah from me.

laura710

Mmmh nope, I don't really like this one, and I completely agree with xoxomyke - this is a chemical mess. I don't know, maybe I'm anosmic to some ingredient, but this seriously smells like softener or detergent. To me it really smells quite bad, I don't want to offend its creator and his work, nor those who like it, maybe it is just me, who knows...
A scrubber, unfortunately.

polkadot27

The bottle is really awful- super tacky, cheap and just ugly looking. It could have been done much much better- it really is so cheap to look at in person. The scent is heated warm sticky fruits- it smells really horrible on my skin. I don't get any fresh or musky scents from this at all. It was a miss for me. I tested this on a boiling hot day - it might be different in the colder months when my skin has zero perspiration. I will test again and update.

lmwimsatt

This is too fruity

Babieluv

I dont understand why so many negative reviews about this one. I haven't seen such low score on any fragrance here. This is a lighter version of Carven Le Parfum, which I love. I wouldn't buy this, since I prefer Carven, but if someone gave me this I'd be happy. It's a nice floral, amber with a hint of fruit scent.

xoxoMyke

Bursting with a rumbling roar of chemical harshness, Kenzo World is truly a chaotic mix of sweet deep red fruits and laundry softener.

The opening is where the deep colored red fruits and florals mix. I say "red colored fruits" as that is the level of chemical harshness I feel from these fruit notes. It's like "wildberry" scented kitchen cleaner. The laundry-esque florals whirl in the background like a hurricane subduing the shrilling deep red fruit notes. The ambroxan note only further enhances the "laundry" vibe of Kenzo World, giving it a super "clean" feel.

Eventually, the jarring chemical nature of Kenzo World subsides and we're left with an acceptable form of red fruits, fabric-softener florals, and ambroxan. It's so soft and tame and no longer wailing like a sea siren.

The drydown is where World turns "unisex" in my opinion. The ambroxan really reigns in the fruit and floral aspect.

World is not initially likable, but given some time with it, I do enjoy it. The throw and sillage makes me nervous that I will trigger someone's sinuses or cause an allergic reaction. Definitely not something for regular wear and something that I would wear when I know I'll be outdoors when the weather is cool - definitely late fall or very early spring type of scent.

jansiri

This doesnt quite match up to the brilliance of the other kenzo perfumes. It smells quite masculine to me. It not that I dislike this but I wouldnt personally wear it. I dont get any floral notes from this but coconut oil mixed with spice. The dry down reminds me of divine decadence in its sharpness. Quite interesting. I think on the right person it may smell really good.

Livgranger

I actually really like this! I guess it's a skin chemistry thing. I have searched high and low for a fresh floral that doesn't go all screechy on my skin, I think it's the jasmine note, on me in many other perfumes it overtakes and becomes very loud and will turn a perfume into a scrubber. Finally I have found something fresh and floral... that actually lasts too. This, to me, is what I wanted the original Light Blue to be like. That one turned into a screechy mess on me, but so many other people can get on with it.

The opening is a fresh clean floral, on the website berries are not really mentioned as a note, only that "the Peony is sublimated to accompany the "red berry" facets of Egyptian Jasmine." I agree with that, I don't get outright berries, but there is a fresh berry quality to the Jasmine. I love peony in perfumes, it's just a note that agrees with me every time. This is a nice fresh floral perfume, that lasts and I think the sillage is good too. I wanted something that would make me smell shower fresh later on in the day and this does that, with a nod to girly florals. The ambroxan turns up very late in the dry down, I think it's main role is to sustain the floral notes and prolong it. It's not overly complex, if you are looking for a simple but lasting fresh floral I'd recommend trying it, on your skin, not a test strip, this doesn't do well on paper.

bren400

I would like to smell this because it is said to have a 'Fresh' category and it is Kenzo. The bottle looks absolutely hideous-MY GOSH! Why would a good name like Kenzo agree with releasing a bottle like this???

Astar

This fragrance is like your ever returning nightmare: it just reminds you of so many others, it hurts. I can name at least 5 perfumes Kenzo World is similar (if not identical) to: say, Marc Jacobs Decadence, My Burberry etc... As many below mentioned, it is plain boring, with this familiar fresh-fruity-slightly woody at the dry down scent and overwhelmingly intensive red fruits note that seems to be the only one that lingers for as long as this perfume lasts and overpowers all the other (although complexity is definitely not what this fragrance could be proud of).

Arlene-Beatrix

Top notes are harsh, but later it is better, fruity floral. The bottle's cap is so ugly that even if it smelled like heaven, I don't know if I would buy it.

Olya-la

Too ordinary and not even pleasant perfume that reminds me a little of Carven le parfum added by rotten berries notes and smell of rubber as if coming from the rubber cap with an eye. There is a gap between the advertising concept of this perfume and the fragrance itself.

Leopold

At school some girls used to wear the original Parfum d'été and Ça sent beau in the early 90's. These compositions were so cute it gave them a fresh and romantic aura. More than 20 years after I'm still thrilled and I would even like to have a vintage Parfum d'été.

This one, on the other hand, goes in the same fruity/floral direction but if I liked it (which I don't) I would just have to go to the supermarket and grab a bottle of fruity shampoo from Garnier for 3 euros as an alternative. Very unworthy of past achievements from Kenzo. I'm very grateful World did not exist when I was at school!

guillermostf

Sorry i can't talk about the perfume. unfortunately i do not have the chance of smelling it. But it seems perfume's universe include visual issues too.
I wanna say 2 things about the bottle: not so original (see Eclix by La Perla) launched in 2000 based on fragrantica. I know ins't the same bottle, but has simmilar vibes.
2nd: i dislike the bottle cap. It seems like rubber or cheap plastic. it's ok with cheap stuff but with a reason. and kenzo is not poor to save money in bottles caps.
I thought Kenzo tried to be so cool with a "novel" esthetic for a perfume adv, but no. TV Advertisement is too long with its tryin' of "surprising" and be too cool. Ugly green dress. Ugly too tall girl shoes...
Perfumery got bored?
well, sincerity could be a good way to walk on.
@Bad_Girl_Bex "advert is ridiculously irritating. Grr..."
Yes!!! that's what i'm tryin' to say.

Best ever ad for a perfume!!! I have never seen one I liked so much. Thank you so very much for not being boring! When you get to my advanced age you're tearful with gratitude to people who- and things that- are not boring.
I have not had a whiff yet, but am looking forward to it! Already love the Kenzo Aesthetic.

DarlingNikki

Kitschy cool bottle, but I feel like I need Google Maps for the fragrance because I don't know where it's trying to lead me exactly. This kind of feels like a Frankenstein's monster mashup of notes that have been done before (and better) and in more well-balanced ways. I do look forward to trying the newest edition, but I don't have my hopes set too high after experiencing this fragrance dissonance.

gamos

I was very curious what is was like, as most of the reviews are negative, so I wanted to find out what I make of it myself. When you look at the bottle you expect something special. But honestly, I have to agree with the majority, it is really not. I can't say it smells cheap, and I quite like the dry down, kind of fruity-powdery. But overall something went wrong along the way. The middle note - sweet-fruity-flowery - is all over the place; the opening though not bad, kind of zesty-orangy in my nose. Definetly not a masterpiece, but it lasts quite long and is pleasant enough to wear it on a late summer day, when it is not too hot. It definetly smells nicer when your skin is cool.

AnitaHendricks

No! I don't like this one. The red fruits in the opening are nice but once I've walked in that door I want to get out. The peony is strong and I personaly don't like this note. The ambroxan doesn't fit well and the jasmin is way too thick and sensual in the context of this perfume. I can't even imagine this scent being nice on someone else. I hope it will find happy owners. The bottle is pretty cool and the commercial is genius.

PerfumeKing14

i tested this while on holiday recently & even in the heat (on me) it lasted until the next day! the staying power is something else. scent itself is gorgeous, i found it to be unusual but in a really good way. it's fruity but not in a cheap way & it's slightly floral but done well. i really enjoy this scent despite all the hate it gets. i'm now excited to try KENZO world intense.

JackieM

I don't know, man, I just don't know. There's something sharp and zesty about it, yet at the center is some kind of overripe fruit note. I can't place any specific note properly, but it just feels like there is too much going on. I can't imagine wearing this all day. It's like someone was trying for achievement in "composition"!! without giving thought to how wearable it should be.

Annah7

I'm very disappointed with this fragrance. To me it seems to be a copy or a sister of Armani Si. It is a fruity floral and stays really long on clothes. I wouldn't buy it though.

nightcutter

The top notes are nice, kind of bright and floral and aquatic. But the mid and basenotes remind me of modern men's fragrances like Sauvage and L'Homme Libre. I don't think this smells terribly feminine at all!

Bad_Girl_Bex

I can't get the 'this perfume reminds me of' thing to add Marc Jacobs Decadence to it - can someone else try and add it, because both of them have that same grotesquely confused, clashing, chemical fug thing going on.

Arabian Knight

Vile, cheap smelling garbage. Reminds me of Fruictus hair gel. A gooey, tangy fruit compote mixed with some ghastly chemical jasmine and aquatic calone. It should be discontinued.

TonkaTOMMY

Where im from, Kenzo is a neighborhood where alot of druggies and trashy houses and people. Hahaha never smelled this, just thought it was funny to hear kenzo in a frag

Bad_Girl_Bex

Gross.

I was in Boots today briefly and saw a bottle of this out as a tester. Not being one to ignore the opportunity to test new smells, I gave a good three squirts on the back of my hand, walked out the door into the street and the smell hit me, full-on. I was like "WHAT'S THAT SMELL? I KNOW THAT SMELL! GAH...WHAT IS IT?" And then I realised...it smells just like Marc Jacobs - Decadence (only without the underlying note of Avon's Far Away that makes Decadence even more confusing.)!

"NO! I JUST GOT RID OF THIS!"

And it being so potent (and me having lashed three long squirts of it on me) I had to walk around smelling of the exact smell I'd recently been super excited to send off to a more suitable recipient. Lol. Such is life, huh?

It starts off with a burst of prison pruno (that delightful connoisseur's cocktail of whatever disgusting remnants of fruit/sugar/juice a handful of cellies on a prison-tier cobble together, in order to brew something hazardous they can get hammered on) before going on to explode with further obstreperous invasions of cranberry sauce, nuclear fall-out and the urine of someone who consumes an inordinate amount of asparagus, pineapple and those variety-trays of pre-sliced melon that go rancid 24hrs after purchase.

Notes of a litter-bin stuffed to the gills with discarded soft drinks cans and surrounded by hovering wasps...wafts of a headache you once woke up with after challenging a really old sea captain to a jelly-wrestle with actual jellyfish...then the ubiquitous descent into overwhelming floral fug. Oh and more experienced noses will also pick up subtle undertones of Golden Wonder Prawn Cocktail Crisps.

Am so glad that I'm 37yrs old, happily settled and not going to find myself in any sweaty, airless, claustrophobic night-clubs any time in the future; because I think the inevitable cloying stench coming from every 17yr old girl, thinking they're 'totes sophisticated' by dousing themselves in this stank-brew and drinking Bacardi Breezers till they puke on their own shoes, might make me vomit up my spleen.

This perfume should be re-branded as an insect repellent, with a warning on the label to only use in a well-ventilated area.

Call it 'Reek!' and be done with it.

Gah!

Oh and I really hate the bottle (reminds me of the bottle of Salvador Dali perfume I had in the 80's) and the advert is ridiculously irritating. Grr...

Cinema

Daughter of Kenzo Ca Sent Beau. After a wave of juices a la La vie est Belle (that even the good old house of Guerlain joined) I am relieved that this one is not loud, sticky wanna be seductive diva. Plus the best perfume commercial ever!

Missisjoker

I'm sorry, Kenzo, i tried to like it but it is by far the worst fragrance of all Kenzo fragrances that I've ever tried. It is pretty much a cheaper version of Carven Perfume, but while Carven has peachy and flowery notes along with the powdery musk, this Kenzo is just powder. Sweet, patchouli -ish powder. It starts with sweet a bit fruity musk with a touch of patchouli, but very soon dries down into sour spicy powdery mess.
It is an OK smell if you are not very picky, but I am - and i wouldn't buy a full bottle - esp not when i can get a much better and more sophisticated version of the smell for $20 more.

Shwets

Amazing bottle! It's got an eye on the other side. But the scent Is synthetic and sweet. It reminds me of an Arabic fragrance which cannot recall. Didn't like this kenzo. Sillage is close to the skin on me.

blackmartini

I was so excited when I saw this today as I had no idea a new Kenzo fragrance had been released but oh boy, what a disappointment.

The first notes were very sharp and melony for some reason, and now my wrist just smells like it has been used as a guinea pig for testing some cruel mixture made out of several powerhouses from the 80s.

I just don't know what else to say to be honest.

Ha yes, it also smells pretty cheap.

HeavyBeatsUK

It smells a bit sweet and aquatic to me. It's okay, nothing special. At least, they tried to be different.

LittleParfumista

I hated all kenzos before as for me they were so artificial, cheap and old.

Kenzo done this one right! Beautiful combo of berries, peony and ambroxan. Sweet and sour, fresh and light, but present. Projection not great, silage is okay. Brilliant for summer. So familiar, yet so different.

Love the bottle design!

artsyrn

Mr. Kurkdjian's Kenzo World strikes me as a rather impressionistic woodsy floral. It is as if all the notes are jumbled together in a fog. Not a bad thing! This perfumer has made some amazing fragrances! My Burberry is one, which I adore and here seems to share vague similarities with this fragrance in the opening. Later I find this scent is not at all very strong as it settles. It is a very pleasing scent though, I just wish it were much stronger. I keep thinking, because of the name and the softness of this composition, of a hazy image of the Earth as seen from space. That is how this World feels to me.

Fizzy

Well, a thin, boneless sour berries perfume, weak with no silage. Not the quality, you would expect from company like Kenzo. If you love the kind of smell, go for far far better Mauboussin Amethyste.

Elisabeth M.

Not at all a generic fruity floral but a modern fancy concoction of fruits and flowers. I am surprised how perfumers manage to create unique perfumes with modern vibe that are remarkable and outstanding in this nowadays perfume massmarket. Kenzo world is nonetheless not a niche perfume but fits perfectly into Kenzos colourfull perfume-line. Well done, Francis Kurkdjian!

auSoleil

Well this is really rather beautiful! I received a bottle today at a KGA fragrance event and I'm so tempted to open it up and go crazy immediately! - just like the advert wants hah!
Kenzo fragrances have a tendency to give me headaches so I think I need to keep trying this on skin another week or so before I touch my bottle.
Honestly though, I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do! - I'm not usually a huge fan of peony or ambroxan but this one gets it right! It's fun, sexy and oh so effortless.

christinavictory

This is the biggest disappointment. The bottle is glorious and I wanted to love it....but it smells exactly like a $6 Victoria's Secret body spray I bought a decade ago. :( It's just so boring and ordinary and cheap. I'm quite sad about it.

Tovah

So sad...when I saw the bottle I thought Eclix had come back to life...Nope. In any case, this fragrance does nothing for me. I think it's boring.

Madrona

I am reminded of My Burberry, or something inbetween My Burberry and My Burberry Black. Still, I find it lighter, airier than both of them. I like the ambroxan in this composition, with me it is rather hit or miss. I liked the commercial, with Spike Jonze essentially repeating what he did for Fatboy Slim in the video for Weapon of Choice, but the ad does not suit this fragrance at all.

I had expected it to be very uplifting, a celebration of the freedom of being a young adult, the feeling of the world being one's oyster. Instead it is perfectly pleasant. I like it more than other entries in the genre for sure, but I can't help but feel like I expected more.

MademoiselleMaya

After just a winter time test - just another fruity floral with 0 longevity or projection. Nothing new or worthy of the awesome commercial.

_christine_

The ambrox does its job of heightening the tension between the few notes in the mix. I like the top note which is a vague berry almost like CranRazz fruit juice. The heart note pounds out a bunch of floral notes, and there's some discord there. It's sort of exhausting. Or maybe invigorating. It's certainly not boring!

It's not one that everyone will like and it's worth being selective with where you wear it. (It's not one for the office or a long car ride.)

Hipster21

I put this fragrance on a girlfriend and it's so strong. It filled the room everywhere we went and it stayed on her so long...
I loved the smell, but she didn't haha
She found it too strong, but that's personal preference.

ZBear

Cool commercial (love Margaret Qualley), weird & awkward bottle, and the juice is almost an exact replica of My Burberry Black.

Kenzo World smells pleasant enough, sort of a fruity floral with a hint of masculinity. I imagine it for more casual occasions, certainly not for a black tie affair.

Unfortunately, it is not super original, and I almost feel like Mr. Kurkdjian got a bit lazy and recycled My Burberry Black.

Decent longevity and sillage. For me, not fill bottle worthy, but if gifted, I would wear it from time to time.

Konga5000

P.S. funny trailer/commercial -- loved the end part!
Too bad this is so expensive! I think they are turning people off from trying it BECAUSE OF THE PRICE. I do not think Kenzo should go for Tom Ford prices. Do you ?
Still- this is the Queen of all fruit fragrances --take that for what it is.

If it was like $45.00 that would be OK. Not $100.00 plus plus !

Oh well.......

pablOSO

fruity floral... *yawn*

Aromascent

Haven't smelt this yet but looking at the composition, pepper notes might have been complimentary.

Konga5000

First off - love the bottle design. Weird and avant garde in a 1960s way.
What this smells like:
Take 500 different celebrity scents that smell like fruit -- blend 'em all together--make an INTENSE version and make it with HIGH END ingredients !
This is a Fruit Bomb! But natural and good quality. Good longevity. But you must love fruit!

Just got a sample, this is a heady powdery floral, in the vein of Burberry Black yes, I detect a green note too, or maybe the anbroxan, not crazy about the overall tone of this perfume..it reminds me of a Yardley soap, it has a vintage floral vibe ..not sure about the bottle,I think it is supposed to make us think of something, but in my opinion, they are missing the point...here is a Kenzo creation that leaves me unimpressed..it smells linear, vaguely fruity and floral and disappears quickly, , it has also a vague and unpleasant masculine vibe. Reminds me of a Jimmy Choo fruitchouli .
Nothing special I agree!

Silences

I agree with Valerie, this one is a disappointment and I love Francis K. The appeal of Kenzo fragrances is to get that bit of edge and this one is not edgy in the least, just fruity flowers. I thought the ambroxan hype in Bloomingdales was obnoxious too. Avon Life by Kenzo Takada is actually a much better fragrance at a fraction of the cost.

Valerie K

Yesterday, Bloomingdale's rolled out the red carpet and hired a Dj for the promotion of Kenzo's newest.. Very pretty scent! Interesting bottle.. But World seems too familiar, as if it has already "been done".. Nice, but for $100? I'm not convinced..

the only good part of this perfume is clearly the advertising. It makes you really believe 10s you'll smell something amazing and finally you have the new IKEA scented candle.
To be totally honest I prefer the IKEA candle, it smells more like a perfume.
