A very pleasant scent. Unfortunately, its durability is 30-45 minutes for me.

Zabuda

I smelled it today for the first time, and I find it really weird that the notes listed here include neither dates nor myrrh, both of which I found very noticable. I definitely liked it - it is way edgier than I had assumed, and less sweet. At some moment in the future, I should like to get a bottle.

(Two days later, I ordered it. It's really an appealing scent.)

Now I have it, but on the skin I sadly don't get any myrrh. It is somewhat sharp but also undeniably sweet. I sprayed three times two hours ago and I'm still enveloped in a cloud of sweet oriental fragrance. A little less would have done. I fear it might become nauseating. I'm not sure I like it as much on me as I did onthe test strip. But I do find it somehow comforting, so I'll wear it for a while and see how it goes.

Ok, I definitely cannot wear it, even if I only spray once, it is too sweet and overpowering for me. Anyone in Colombia who wants to buy it at a cheap price can PM me.

Ok, I actually hate it - it's just one sickly sweet stench that sticks to everything and never wears off. Whatever I smelled in the store which reminded my of dates and myrrh was not what I received when I ordered it. It's nauseating, cloying and headache inducing. It has no edge whatsoever, it's absolutely one dimensional: sweet. I also cannot imagine that any man would wear this, despite it being offered as unisex. Just awful.

FragGuy

I purchased a bottle of this from Greece through 365pharmacy on eBay since it was hard to find. Here's my impression of this fragrance:

Very similar to the base/DNA of Musc Ravageur - it gets the amber and oriental spicy notes almost identical to Musc Ravageur. But it is severely lacking when compared to Musc Ravageur. Part of what makes Musc Ravageur is the beautiful animalic notes enveloped around musk. That is what gives Musc Ravageur its character. Want Musc Ravageur but without the animalic notes and musk that gives Much Ravageur its character and is ultimately the most important parts of Musc Ravageur and why people want to buy it? Then buy Méharées instead.

It's essentially Musc Ravageur without the animalic notes and musk. Way more wearable and less polarising but nowhere near as sexy and masculine. All Méharées captures is the amber base and spices found in Musc Ravageur and nothing else. There is musk in Méharées but it comes across much much lighter than the fairly intense musk found in Musc Ravageur. The amber is a lot more pronounced/at the forefront of Méharées in comparison to Musc Ravageur and is a creamier and sweeter amber than that found in Musc Ravageur. Also Méharées is much more vanillic.

8/10 - Great for the price and very sophisticated/complex for its price-point. Great if you want a non-polarising version of Musc Ravageur without the animalic notes and musk - only the amber base and spicy notes found in Musc Ravageur.

Over the years I have used 2-3 bottles of this gem & that alone I believe is enough to sum up my take on the fragrance.

Really love this one

I wasn't prepared for how much this reminds me of MR! Lovely quality perfume and at a great price

Saboba

This reminds me of dates with spiced milk. It`s a very warm, cozy and comforting scent. Almost edible.

Maya lilac

My L’Erbolario store experience: I was underwhelmed by some of the fragrances I expected to adore, case in point, (still nothing I dislike, though) and absolutely fell for a couple that I thought I'd pass on. Meharees was such a big disappointment to me!
I honestly didn’t get any of those amazing notes listed, my kind of notes for a fall scent.

My experience with Meharees is that it is a very faint and dull and forgettable scent. Nothing intense here just a bit of vanilla, cinnamon and amber with some vague woodiness in the background. It’s not a bad smelling scent but it’s too faint and short lived to worth the money. And it’s not an expensive scent!!

I hope I am not offending anyone here, but I don’t recommend this to anyone past the age of 14, because it’s like a whisper of the scent I felt it should have been with such great notes listed. I have body spray that last longer and are more intense smelling than this eau de perfume!

Eve_evolution

It smells like dried dates and warm spices. It’s beautiful, comforting and sweet but not overpowering. Longevity is poor. But still a beautiful scent.

Zaca

‘Meharees’ roughly translates as a “journey on camelback”, and I couldn’t think of a more appropriate name. Meharees sits in the same “dry amber” realm as fragrances as L’Air Du Desert Marocain & Sahara Noir. Myrhh gives it a Middle Eastern/North African vibe and the sweetness of the dates is a smart little trick that makes it both unique and more approachable. Guaiac wood lends a very subtle vanillic smokiness. Love the image on the box, and a very affordable, less skanky alternative to (not replacement for) Musc Ravageur.

Smokeandhoney

This is such a warm, fuzzy, cozy perfume. Unisex completely as you get a little sharpness from the citrus in the top and it’s really quite woody in the mid but everything blends beautifully and any harsh edges are rounded out with warm spices, balsamic accords, beautiful vanilla and musks. The musk isn’t animalic or overdone. My bottle is over 3 years old now and it certainly has deepened up—the vanilla and amber have thickened and the spices have macerated somewhat, the sandalwood is rich and the rose just a little more pronounced. Top note citruses haven’t vanished or “turned” but they’re less sharp and bold, for sure. This is a delightful creation—it’s like you’re inside a log cabin, sat at a huge carved wooden table sipping on a mulled blood orange concoction with cinnamon and vanilla… a different image to what the perfume name suggests—Mehari I believe is a journey on camelback so evokes an image of the desert and possibly the scent of spices wafting in the dry wind from merchant caravans in tiny villages where the true Bedouins reside… their tents and their animals, children running barefoot reaching up to ride along with you… only found between the dunes by those who wander by camelback. A special fragrance and affordable, too. Long lasting and ever so comforting.

orestes13

Better version of Musc Ravageur for a fraction of the price. In Musc Ravageur the musks are just a bit overdosed in my opinion, almost covering up the rest of the notes. Meharées on the other hand is all about the mid and top notes. It's one of the best warm spicy scents I've ever tried and it proves that price doesn't always translate to quality.

Beware of reviews that are praising MR as being far superior to this. They are mostly from people who already owned MR only to discover that this is much much better and are now upset that they wasted so much money for nothing.

Lwjm

I think here we have a classic example of "the wisdom of the crowd" going horribly wrong - or to put it differently, utterly implausible fragrantica reviews. Just as some people merrily vote for pollen, pebbles (yup - maybe from the Flintsones?) and ivy (I live in England and the place is covered in it - doesn't smell), here we have "people" saying this smells like Musc Ravageur.

No. This is good - warm, comforting, very cheap for what it is. But it is NOT Ravageur.

The Fr. Malle scent is a dirty joy. Ever gone out on the town after having sex without a shower afterwards and noticed that the world is alive to you, and you sort of "glow"? That's Ravageur.

Some reviewers have said that it's like Ravageur but without the dirty/animalic vibe. Which is like saying "This is like sex but you're on your own and don't have an orgasm."

This scent is lovely, but unless your baby batter smells of vanilla and your sex sweat reeks of cinnamon and dried orange peel (I mean, it might...) then no, this is not your dream cheap dupe. (Go to Perfume Parlour for that - it's amazing.)

If your juices DO smell like that, then please do hit me up and let's get it on.

lmnsvgz

This is INSANE! Especially the opening. Spicy cinammon scent with depth, there is a bit of citrus, but the whole scent is just deep, sweet and oriental. Doesn't give a spice shop in Morocco vibe, but it does give your grandma's dessert spice cabinet vibe. It is really beautiful - UNISEX, definitely NOT only for men. Downside it lasts 2 hours on my skin.

I've had for years since it was my grandmothers go to perfume and it's definitely strong. The notes may be a little off though because it has a alcoholic smell to it. Almost like fireball or bourbon, it's not super off putting though but keep the sprays to a minimum.

Cymbaline1

got as a blind buy. By the notes I thought it would be more gourmand. To me, the cedar note was much more than I had expected. I think the pine-y-ness is what some people interpret as bug spray. I could see on a cold winter day smokey pine vanilla sweetness would work.

Saraljo

Smells like fireball. Strong spicy.

Lalunalynn

On the L'erbolario website....
Unisex Fragrance - Amber, Creamy
Notes of: Orange, Guayacan wood, Amber, Vanilla, Mosses

These notes make more sense to me than what is listed here. I've tried to like this frag but I just don't. It's musty and I can't shake the bug spray vibe. I cannot for the life of me understand all the love for this. I have scrolled down the comments and as far as I got, not one person has disliked it or mentioned bug spray. Even my husband and daughter said they could smell hints of it. I have Musc Ravageur and I don't get the comparison. If you took out the bug spray it would be kinda OK, but the dry down is just musty and more male leaning. Now, saying all that, I have Meharees Perfume, but listed here is Aqua Di Profumo. So whether it is a new formulation, I don't know, but I certainly don't get all the warm cozy vibes that everyone else gets. Blind buy fail. 😔

Osfrisi

Well, this is NOT a “clone” of Musc Ravageur. It lacks the dirty masculine components of MR. Meharees is all about vanilla, cinnamon, amber, and nutmeg. It’s a very pleasant, warm, really comforting scent.

Meharees smells niche, way more expensive, and high quality! The opening is quite pleasant resinous and sweet, the dry down is Ambery, resinous (not smoky), vanilla, and spices. Absolutely divine and a true BANGER for the price!

Aekemi

I love this one, its so comforting.
It smells like warm dry wood, strong creamy chai latte and fruity orange. In the drydown the vanilla and wood shines brighter.

Could be unisex (I would love this on a man), slightly more female in my opinion because of the sweet vanilla vibe.

Arber Cami

Close to Musc Ravageur if you ask me. All I can say is that I absolutely love Meharées and it reminds me a bit of ""Prada Amber intense"". This smells niche, high quality, expensive : Opening is quite heavy resinous and sweet, the dry down is Ambery, resinous (not smoky), sweet vanilla and spices...absolutely divine. Absolute banger for the price. A must try if you like resinous, amber-vanillic fragrances.

Julia P

Bought it because I really like Musc Ravageur, but cannot afford it. What can I say? This is divine, smells exactly like MR, minus the piss lol. I do miss the lavender though. Anyway, it's warm and ambery, very comforting. Moderate longevity, surprisingly long lasting when sprayed on clothes.

glouis7

Sweet, gourmand, powdery and warm. Notes of cynamon, vanilla, buble gum and rose. Pleasant smell, could easily be unisex. Good value for money. Good blind buy.

alexmare3

I have a bottle of Musc Ravageur produced in 2022.
I have Meharees too.

Musc Ravageur opening is a little bit different, with a proeminent lavender note on my skin.
After the opening, they smell the same on my skin, creamy vanilla, not sweet at all, with hints of spices.

Snozzberry

Meharées is to Musc Ravageur what Au Coeur du Désert is to L'Air du Désert Marocain. It's a much more wearable, slightly toned down version, and for a way better price. They are almost identical except Meharées lacks the pungent cloves and animalic vibe of MR, which can be off-putting to many. My earliest memory of MR was going out with friends one night and getting a hug from my friend's wife. She had this disgusted look on her face and I immediately knew it was because of the MR! Solid projection, about 8 hrs of longevity, and it's cheap! Total no-brainer if you enjoy MR.

Fabrizio97

I love this fragrance, but there's a lot of confusion about its "notes". The description on Erbolario's official website mentions "dates" and "myrrh", but then, it also gives a different list of: orange, guaiac wood, amber, vanilla, musk.
No mention of cinnamon and all the other notes I see on here, even if cinnamon is the most voted note by fragrantica users (I absolutely don't smell it). I also strongly oppose the general tendency found in most reviews to list 5-10 different notes like we're supposed to be able to smell each one individually and in a realistic manner.

To me, Meharées doesn't have any prominent "realistic" note. It's very warm and sweet, with a resins/amber accord. It's also a little spicy and powdery. It's like a comforting warm hug, and it gives its best in cold weather. The mention of dates is spot on in my opinion, because it gives the idea of a sugary-fruity accord, but it's warm like dried fruits, rather than fresh. Considering the price, for me it's the perfect soothing fragrance to wear when it's cold.

Carlitos

A "méharée" is a journey through the desert where travellers travel on "méhari" dromedary camels and participants in this type of trek are called méharists. The "méhari" camel is a noble animal par excellence. It is white, slender, large, haughty and very resistant. It is a saddle animal adapted to raids and races on the sands of the Maghreb. Its place of origin is the Algerian strip north of the Sahara. The typical image of a Bedouin caravan that we keep in our memory, whether the most genuine one from National Geographic or the most Hollywoodized, is certainly based on a méharée journey.
Now that it has been revealed what the name might suggest, I would like to clarify whether Méharées can match its semantic heritage. I believe that intrepidity, adventurousness and charm should be called upon. Do these attributes strike our noses?
The perfume scent qualifies the fragrance as an amber-spicy one, and waves flags with musky, (warm) spicy, woody, ambery and powdery notes, along with a slight sweetness. Hostilities open with an orange cinnamon accord that really surprises and helps the development of a woody, half-creamy, half-sober heart mood. When the base notes settle down, the main facets are revealed. While cinnamon stays alive through development, musky, amber and vanilla accords take over and define the dryness rules as well. It is certainly a captivating, warm and enveloping fragrance. Perhaps with a denser amber tone, maybe with some resins added, a stronger and animalistic musk and hotter and dirtier spices, I would consider it a devastating perfume along the lines of Musc Ravageur or L'Air du Désert Marocain or even Isra & Miraj. Perhaps then it would become difficult to use, lose its balance and versatility, its price would increase tenfold and perhaps no one would buy it... and perhaps L'Herbolário would discontinue it. So, I thank L'Herbolario to keep this fragrance just the way it is now, in its state of bringing me "enough happiness". I also enjoyed my camel ride in the Lisbon Zoo.
Last but not the least, I would like to comment on the perfume ingredients. There is no trace of synthetic accords because L'Herbolario has a policy of using almost only natural ingredients. Unfortunately, that also justifies the so-so performance.

My opinion about this magnificent perfume:
It has a discrete presentation. Although with an EdP concentration the performance is just average due to L'Herbolario policy of using only natural ingredients (And I am happy about it). The price is beautiful and can be even lower during a seasonal sale!
Is it a perfume I recommend? Yes, I do recommend it due to its ingredient quality, magnific musky/ambary/spicy scent and low price.
Did I mention that smells like Musc Ravageur (but without cloves note)?

Start with Musc Ravageur

Now take out most of the musk and all of the ravageur. And here you are!

That being said, without the unflattering comparison, this is a nice, mildly spicy amber with orange, a bit too sweet for my tastes but would fit a lot of peoples tastes. If you’re an amber fan that likes sweet, this is a quite affordable - heck, you could use it as a room scent affordable - variation on the theme that doesn’t smell aggressively artificial or as cheap as it is

Odina

Oh, maybe it's not my tipe. To sweet, not comforting my senses. 😶🌫️

tobaksskab

Consoling, warm, complex, delicious, musky, an embrace of a scent, an oasis indeed. Reminds me of a sunny late afternoon in an empty church in the middle of nowhere, south Europe, sunlight coming through the stained glass. I have had people say it has banana, cocoa or buttery tones, I get sweet orange, myrrh, amber, a magnificently gooey smell, luxurious and very rich. One of my favorite perfumes, and I absolutely love the body cream, too -you can smell it from the other side of the house if someone is applying it on their skin. How great!

jcarn90

It is almost impossible to write about Meharees without mentioning Musc Ravageur. And I must admit - I did purchase my bottle based off of this supposed similarity. If you peruse the reviews here, you will find innumerable comparisons. Many people disappointed, their dreams of a "budget" MR shattered and erased.

While Meharees certainly isn't a carbon-copy of MR, this is a GOOD thing, hell, it's wonderful. Why you ask? Because it is ultimately a more WEARABLE Musc Ravageur.

You see, Musc Ravageur holds an almost mythological status in the fragrance community. Whether it deserves its acclaim is up for debate, but its notoriety is unquestionable. That being said, MR is by no means an easy or casual wear. It's performance, as well as its notes, ensures its reservation for colder temperatures. Likewise, its potent musk note is polarizing (I love musk myself, but many do not.) With Meharees, the musk is toned down, the citrus turned up and the spices balanced throughout. What you are left with is a gorgeous - and versatile - musky, spicy, orange. Fresh enough to wear all-year long and versatile enough to wear casually or with a suit.

Absolutely beautiful and a great daily driver. Pick up a bottle if you want a dryer, fresher, more versatile take on Musc Ravageur. 10/10.

Tyriel

This is the most cuddly fragrance I have ever smelled. I have compared it one to one with Musc Ravageur and it is nearly identical. Take away the animalic undertone and the cloves and what you are left with is a very cozy, warm, thick. sweet, alluring scent. The amber, cinnamon and vanilla dominate in this fragrance. So you got to love those notes to love this fragrance.

The fragrance is perfectly unisex.

If you ask me what is the best movie-night, cuddle fragrance, I will say it is L'Erbolario Meharées. In the winter time, I sometimes spray in on my pillow. It creates a warm, soothing aura, which calms you down before going to sleep. It lasts for 3-4 days on fabric.

Ovaltine Jenkins

Sweet and amber-y. To my nose it's closer to MFK Grand Soir or Costume National Soul than it is to Musc Ravageur. Good for wearing in the fall and winter.

Gen Martini

If you like this, try Lush Sticky Dates shower gel, not as spicy as this perfume, but you get the yummy date deliciousness. Could be nice for layering.

Januszek

Smell harsh in the beginning due to the explosive performance of spices. A soft and creamy note vanilla and sandalwood follows suit. The scent itself is not at all complicated, but it is by far one of the most special fragrance that I have had. Another warm gourmandish but not so sweet scent is Folies de Saisons autumn edition by Yves Rocher, and their base notes smell astoundingly similar.

First of all, this doesn’t smell like Musc Ravageur nor L-Lolita nor Lira.

I’m not sure if I got the correct sample based on the notes I’m seeing, but it opened as a herbal spice barbershop scent. Then it just smelled like a generic natural soap bar (soapy-not pleasant). The dry down smelled like typical vetiver(though it’s not listed).

7/10-strange one
Update: I can now see a bit of resemblance to Musk Rav., but not as musty. Reminds me of a classic fragrance style I’ve smelled when living in Europe long ago during childhood. It’s strangely familiar. There is a dusty metallic scent if you smell it close on fabric. Leans masculine.

violeteme

Stunning. So warm, so comforting, so sensual and sexy. It smells like some sort of balm from sunny deserts. I get this imagery of hot sun somewhere in the bustle of Morocco, twilight, light wind going through the hair, sand between toes and warm golden-toned skin. It's very heavy on amber, that amber is warm lit and spicy, but in no way a Grand Soir, this is a soft whisper in comparison, a tender hug. It smells a lot like Musc Ravageur, just a bit more polite. I've rated it as a like as it is not my scent profile, but if I was interested in these types of perfumes, this is amazing. If you like hair products like Moroccanoil, Nashi Argan, anything with argan oil, give this one a try. +

Serpentarius

This is a nice fragrance...doesn't 'wow' me, it's more like a reliably warm blanket. Closest reference point to another I own is LDDM by Tauer. This is sweeter, less animalic (not at all), and a tad more feminine-leaning while still unisex (spectrum-wise).

Great value for the money, easy blind-buy. I think it's fine to wear in any climate but a super hot one. Performs decently on my skin. Good balance of air and spice. Solid addition to my lineup but I can see it being a signature scent for many.

Update: I'll probably give this one away but that's not a knock on it. I got this because of comparisons to Musc Ravageur but it doesn't have the ravageur. This turns me into Madea.

Digam

For the price it's a must, very spicy- cinnamon orange sweet perfume amazing longevity 8+ hours with 4 sprays for some reason I enjoyed it a lot when I first got it but after almost a year I think now it's too strong and powdery BUT I still love it

Bubbles1964

My second review of Meharées, and a side-by-side comparison of Meharées and Musc Ravageur:

On one arm I sprayed Meharées, and the other Musc Ravageur. They might be in the same spicy genre, but on my skin they are two different perfumes. Meharées is softer, more rounded and gentle. The wood notes and vanilla are more dominant than the spices. Musc Ravageur is noticeably spicier and animalic—leaning more masculine in my opinion—even though I like to wear both. Musc Ravageur is all about dominant spices mixed with some sweet smelling, and very, very naughty, skank.

Musc Ravageur lasts longer on my skin too—with a bigger throw. Long after my nose can no longer detect Musc Ravageur (at the 7-8 hour mark) I am still getting compliments. Sadly even though I love Meharées, other people have a hard time picking it up. Granted I only recently acquired Meharées though a trade with a Fragrantica member, I have had the opportunity to wear it several times around others so maybe I need to keep testing.

Unlike in my first review where I thought I couldn’t pull this off in warm weather, I do think Meharées might be one of those spicy scents I can wear in summer. And at least on my skin I think performance will be better. When it comes time to switch out my Fall and Winter scents, Meharées will stay so I can retest it in a few months.

My personal assessment is that the two scents are not remotely the same. Meharées is the gentler, older distant relative. This is a scent I could wear to bed. I really love it.

kokalinja

Lovely warm smell. Bought it because of said resemblance for Musc Revageur. It is very similar but a bit spicier. I feel like orange and cinnamon here are a bit stronger than in MR, and the main difference- there is almost no musk here. Some people can smell it, for me it's very soft. In Musc Revageur the animalic musk is what makes it quite dirty and sexy. Here we have a lovely, sweet and spicy smell. For that price, it's worth it.
If you consider wearing this in replacement for MR might be worth layering it with something musk-heavy.

gmoney9438

How in the world are you guys getting Musc Ravageur 'clone'? Get out of here. This one is more benzoin, vanilla, and woods: sensual and sexy. MR is heavy on the cinnamon and clove: loud animalic dirty sexy. This one is extremely light with the hand on the warm spices, more benzoin and vanilla. The woods and other facets come out more, well balanced. MR is not. This one is "I'm sexy and I know it." MR is "Hey, look at me. I'm sexy and you know it!."

It opens with the lightest touch of citrus and florals with a big big body of benzoin and vanilla, with cinnamon, woody and herbal patchouli accents . MR is a spice and animalic vanilla amber explosion that drowns out everything. I am a proud owner of both, and to say that it smells like Musc Ravageur is downright untruthful and insulting to those who are looking to purchase..

Musc Ravageur is animalic, extremely spicy forefront that cuts the vanilla sweetness. This is not it. The spices are WAAAY lighter on this one, more balanced, with amber vanilla and woods. My suggestion to the liars is to actually buy a bottle of MR, otherwise ease up on the lies. It's the holidays for goodness sake..

konchokjenpa

This is unusual and really quite lovely. First notes I get are cinnamon, orange, vanilla, and musk. There is an almost-leather accord happening that is quite nice, something herbal and almost licorice too. To me it has a gourmand feeling but not sugary. It is warm and dry and definitely has a woody desert vibe. Performance is good and the bottle looks nice. Some might call it "cheap" feeling if they're used to the over-the-top excess of some of the Middle Eastern houses but it's simple, well designed, and nicely presented.

kigyo

This is what I'd call a cozy fragrance. Warm, spicy, creamy. It reminds me of being in Morocco and taking a shower with Moroccan made bath products in a magnificent riad's bathroom that was an art itself. I absolutely love it, L'Erbolario never disappoints. I will always have this handy in the colder months. One thing I've noticed that is smells completely different on paper than on skin. Try it on your skin.

isotrbo

Smells like a vioin case filled with kalafonium! Beautifull. Lasts 8h+

igor_bt_mk

Very good sweet perfume. Good lasting power over 8 hours. The perfume for cold days...

fromthebayandaroundtheway

I love Meharees. This scent is fall in a bottle. Meharees is composed and blended perfectly. Simply put, with a few clear, stand out notes of: cinnamon, sandalwood a bit of Guaiac wood, cedar, a splash of vanilla, amber and patchouli and you have a great scent! Meharees is perfect in almost every way; the scent, the performance and the price. When you wear this think a few good sprays and it works beautifully under a scarf or sweater. This can be worn anywhere and daily during the fall, day or night. Give Meharees a few sprays when the denim and flannel just won't cut it! (Btw this is completely unisex! My wife and I fight for this bottle regularly!)

ceeceelee

@herculano ~ you might be nose blind to it. Next time you want to wear it, get a trusted friend to be upfront with you. All noses interpret scent molecules differently of course, but sometimes with a strong spice we can burn our noses out on it. It's happened to me a few times. Anywho, I hope it works for you someday.

As for me, I'll update how my nose interprets it when I receive it, lol.

ingeneuxo

-Opens rather faint.
-Said to be similar to Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle. I'm not familiar with that scent so I cant comment on similarity..but to my nose, this is rather reminiscent of cheap leather furniture you'd find at IKEA. (-)

rosequeen

I didn't realize until now that this scent wasn't labeled as unisex. Not that it would stop me, but it seems like a good summer fragrance for both sexes. The sand and oasis image on the packaging seems very apropos to me; it's what the big labels try to market as a beach scent, but this one really feels like light sand. In a good way though. And a lot lighter than the notes in the pyramid suggest. You'd think anything with cedar, patchouli and guaiac wood would be heavy and overwhelming, but this just isn't. Nice stuff, and the price certainly is right....

xvxmatthewxvx

i was expecting a musk bomb but it's more of a dessert gourmand on me
lots of myrrh, date, & vanilla
reminds me of root beer & creme brulee

clemmy

Spicy sweet oriental with a creamy drydown. Definitely a crowd pleaser, perfect for men but potentially intriguing for women that prefer 'not too gourmand oriental', in fact the vanilla at the end will round the fragrance. The opening is very nice, a sharp cinnamon and orange. All the most relevant oriental notes are present in a good blend (amber, musk, patchouli, sandalwood), the woody notes are robust yet well dosed nor dominant (cedar and guaiac wood).
For that price is a steal and highly recommend for oriental fragrance lovers. 3.5/5

miarose

I just received this in the mail. Omg, cinnamon-powdery-vanilla-amber goodness. I'm so glad I finally have a bottle. The liquid in my bottle is quite light compared to pictures I'm seeing, and I'm hoping it darkens with age due to the vanilla. This is a cinnamon scent that I want. Not Red Hots, not too sweet, more complex with a bit of woodiness and musk, and certainly more skin-friendly than diluted cinnamon E/O. It's not particularly potent, but it's delicious.

I owned this one since 2014 after hearing how similar this is supposedly to Musc Ravageur. While true, it is similar, it’s also like a hollowed out version of MR. Not a replacement by any stretch and imo an inferior recreation of its predecessor.

It’s strange how technically similar they are to each other, but worlds apart in how they feel.

Old formula MR was a feral ‘sex in a bottle’, new formula is like a declawed version of the older one and Meharees is what you get when you seal the deal further and chop the balls off.

EDIT: I just recently got the chance to smell this again. I might’ve been a bit too harsh on this scent. It’s not as musky as Musc Ravageur but it still has a bit of muskiness in the base. Musc Ravageur fanatics like myself might not be as impressed by it compared to the OG but it nonetheless stands on its own two feet just fine. Longevity isn’t great, but it smells really good especially for how cheap it is. It reminds me of Shalimar too. My sister thought it’s Shalimar when I sprayed it for her to try.

Digidrago

It's the fragrance equivalent of a beautiful C-chord, every note hitting and blending together in harmony. Cinnamon and oranges lead the scent, in equal proportions and with no bitterness at all. Vanilla and amber act to soften any harshness further. There is a slight touch of rose to my nose.

Overall, 9/10. The only issue is it lasts around 3-4hrs at most.

Hazel1234

For those who want to buy this stateside, it is sold by a boutique called The Herbarium - L'Erbolario USA. They are an importer of Italian beauty products. Arrives in a matter of a few days. A lot of the reviewers mentioned buying this from Italy directly and that is no longer necessary.

Was intrigued by the comparison to Musc Ravageur. I do find a LOT of similarity between the two. Have worn them side by side. Musc Ravageur does have a bit more umph and a bit more animalic musk but overall, the scents are 95% similar.

I definitely get 6+ hours before this becomes a skin scent.

gennarowilde

Dreamy and one of the best in its category. Unfortunately the lack of synthetic molecules makes it short lived. L’Erbolario only uses naturals.

I have been on the hunt, for years now, to find an obvious cinnamon fragrance. I’ve even used straight up cinnamon essential oil as perfume.

I blind bought meharees and waited a month for it to arrive.

Upon first spray ...and up to one full minute... this was my dream cinnamon perfume. Warm, even hot, cozy, invigorating, intoxicating.

But after that first minute this turns into a cold churchy myrrh and amber, with zero projection. And zero cinnamon to speak of.

45 minutes later there is nothing left of it at all.

Even on clothing. Even on hair.

What a disappointment.

In fact, the way this disappears reminds me of disappearing ink. It’s almost like a magic trick.

I have even tried wildly dousing myself and my clothes in it, to no avail.

Yes, it’s a gorgeous scent while it lasts, but not worth the money at all. In Italy this might be sort of reasonably priced but add on 20 bucks to have it shipped to the states, and it’s just not worth it. (speaking for myself, of course).

Update:
I gave this to my sister, as she much prefers lighter fragrances, anyway.

I miss it because it truly was the very best cinnamon fume I’ve ever smelled. Truly gorgeous. Someone suggested I may have gone nose blind to it. That’s always possible.
Not going to try it again, though. The shipping, the cost.

I have enough perfumes as it is. *sigh

Sample this one next to Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle. Study the price tags and a few home truths about modern perfumery will become self-evident. You'll soon realise that 90% of the price tags of many scents derive directly from the costs of generating hype, marketing, celebrity endorsements, prestigious store placements etc. Meharees is not only similar to Musc Ravageur, it's actually better - softer, more rounded, better blended.

LadyIva

Meharees is a wonderful little fragrance created by a refreshingly unpretentious company. If you love scents such as Musc Ravageur, Grand Soir, Laetitia, Coco, L'air du Desert Marocain, Zoologist Camel and such, get yourself a bottle of Meharees asap! To be honest, it is not a dupe to Musc Ravageur, first of all because it's much weaker, and second, because it lacks the 'dirty' masculine components of Musc Ravageur. Meharees is all about cinnamon, vanilla, amber and nutmeg; it is a warm, pleasant, comforting scent, ideal for colder weather - but it can also be worn in warmer climates, because it's not too strong and overpowering. Rather, it lingers around you and produces a soft, cocoon-like effect. Frequent reapplications are welcome and needed; given that it is so affordable, its less-than-stellar lasting power shouldn't be an issue. Although Meharees is marketed to men, it is perfectly unisex, even leaning feminine, due to these sweet, edible notes of warm spices and vanilla.

ailingc

Just got this based on recommendations of its similarity to my beloved Musc Ravageur, and I’m kicking myself for not discovering Meharees sooner. On me, Meharees smells very similar to the extreme dry down of MR while bypassing all the aggressive opening notes. It goes straight to a lovely, warm, spice flecked, amber-y vanilla musk. Its development is relatively linear (compared to MR), but what is there smells complex and well-blended, warm and cuddly without being too loud. MR is still my gold standard - its polarizing opening just makes it more distinct and memorable. But Meharees is a solid LOVE, and an absolute steal!

adrian.meeks.35

Love when people try to justify a high price purchase...This smells exactly like MR. Don't if it was a clone of MR.

meroo

I bought a used bottle based on the reviews and the hype. I carry a decant and spray once on the neck while at work (yes!!). For the price, this is gold, I absolutely love it. I get cinnamon, orange, musk and maybe a bit of amber. I barely, if at all, get the rose and patchouli. It's a musky, a little spicy, a little fruity and somehow fresh all at once.

Got several compliments for this. Performance is good, If I spray it on a t-shirt, it would still be there the morning after. For 22 euros this is going to be in my collection for as long as they make it.

Regarding the comparison with MR, I'm waiting for my MR bottle, will comment on that when I wear MR a few times.

I don't care at all about the presentation, bottle,..etc but in case you do, you should know they don't. The bottle, cap,..etc look and feel cheap. So I wouldn't get this as a present for example.

Perfumeaddict777

Meharees is a shift changer on me. I love it. Im absolutely addicted to the opening! This smells like a stronger more cinnamon packed Lira And Tender Madeleine I have both and Lira I swapped because it was light on me. I adore TM but that seems to fade quickly (must be my chemistry) well Meharees smells like sweet cinnamon , oranges and vanilla. After the first 15 minutes it starts to smell like L de Lolita and musc ravageur an hour later it becomes cleaner smelling...i still smell cinnamon but much calmer, wood, and musk. The very end is where I can smell that this was created for men. It has a slight after shave smell but not enough for others to really notice. At times I think I smell sweet Hot sand . it melts into the skin so beautifully. I love wearing it alone but also with musc Ravangeur to make MR last longer. 2 sprays of MR and 2 sprays of mahareesI think it's georgeous! I've been searching for my perfect cinnamon, orange ,vanilla. This is it. Moderate sillage and decent longevity...i can smell it in myself for about 4 hours.

gracemg23

Meharees smells almost identical to Musc Ravageur from the bottle. MR was one of the first niche perfumes that I smelled, and I instantly fell for it. I even love the opening, which people tend to despise. However, MR holds a hefty price tag, and I'm not sure how often I'd wear it (but boy do I long for it). MR has a tendency to get a little skanky, and it can be very dirty at times. I think that is one of the things I love about it, but it's also one of the things I miss in Meharees.

Meherees is a very pleasant sister of Musc Ravageur. I think it is more "feminine" than MR. Its a very good dupe, but it is certainly missing the qualities that make MR so spectacular and polarizing. I find this to be a more sanitized, digestible version of MR. It's more heavy on the citrus, and it lacks the clove and lavender. I would use this more as a "daily driver," and use MR when I'm feeling more confident and assertive. For now, it helps me fill the Musc Ravageur shaped hole in my wardrobe, but it keeps me itching for more.

For those of you who like Musc Ravageur but don't want to shell out the cash, this is for you!
For those of us who LOVE Musc Ravageur, I'm afraid nothing can truly replace it. This comes close and will be a good spot-holder while we save up ;)

gabri

All Erbolario fragrances are excellent, too bad the price of importing them is way too ridiculous, so I would have to buy when I'm in Italy. Also, this frag is not a "clone" of anything, Erbolario doesn't need to copy from any other perfume Co.

ScentManJojo

Being that I have never smelled Musc Ravageur I wouldn't be able to compare this in any way with Meharees... That being said I do find it similar here and there to a few scents that I do have or had... Those being AMen by Mugler and Allure by Chanel. I would say the more it drys the more it goes from Allure to AMen on me. I do like it and I am on the verge of moving it into my top 10. I do find it linear in most respects which is fine. I know there are only 2 notes listed but I am sure there are many more... I get cinnamon, patchouli, vanilla and amber... 1.7 oz for 50 dollars US is a great deal for the quality, longevity and projection. Enjoy!

diversifikacija

Very nice scent. Too nice a little. I layering it with Incident Diplomatique by Jovoy. Perfect combination for Fall.

scentitar

I am going to echo the praise of this one. You get a soft vanillic Desert fragrance. Soft spices, hot wind tossed sands, delicate spices, a silk tent in the distance. This fragrance speaks to me and I am so happy I learned about it. You can get this for about 50 to 60 usd after import. If this was imported in mass or if you live where this is made, this is likely a 30 to 40 usd fragrance for you.

Amazing value, amazing composition !!!!
Soft, inviting, soft, sensual and a little spicy. This is a exotic vacation on foreign hot sands in a bottle.

4 to 6 hours longevity, soft projection, fair sillage

A Masterpiece

tucktimosprime

I've been into serious fragrance collecting now for about ten years and I know what I like and I've gotten really good at looking at notes and doing my homework on fragrances as a lot of them are blind buys, simply because a lot of them you can't find in shops.
I've been putting off buying this fragrance for way to long and yesterday my bottle arrived and "wow" this stuff is incredible, truly mind blowing, this is love from the start til the end and I've had to put it into my top five.
I don't understand why people are getting bad performance out of this as its still screaming off of me after twelve hours of application.
I definitely get that lovely hot sandy opening that lasts for about half an hour then the cinnamon and vanilla kicking in and it just gets better as it processes, I also get a strong amber in the drydown that gives an almost smokey vibe.
I got my bottle on eBay and bought it from a seller in Italy. if you have this on your wishlist, stop putting it off and get it, this is going to be perfect in fall and winter and I can see this being my new Christmas day scent.
10 outta 10..

smellsbells

very weak- its ok and gormandish but not lasting long.

jujucherry

I blind bought this and i'm glad i did it's such a comforting scent well blended and smells totally expensive i just wish it lasted a little bit longer💔.

Aj49

Blind bought this after seeing some comments and reviews and I think it's a wonderful fragrance. Cinnamon and Vanilla and are balanced well together and seem to equal each other in the opening and for the price point, I think you won't find many fragrances that smell as nice as this does for the price you pay. It's nothing amazing but I like how it does not smell generic. A good spray and go type fragrance

Bubbles1964

First Impressions. The opening of Meharées is fantastic, a mysterious journey into a open air market in Egypt: a cinnamon driven, dry fruit and spices, and natural vanilla scent. After about 30 minutes the warm amber notes arrive with a few of my favorites: sandalwood, a juicy orange and a gorgeous guaiac wood, taking this journey several more hours down an intriguing path.

It’s a cool Spring day and Meharées is the perfect companion. I can imagine this working in everything except hot weather. And I agree with all the comparisons to other scents, and yes there is a bit of 80s retro vibe to Meharées, but it’s also so much more wearable. (I can’t wear Kenzo Jungle L’Elephant, for example).

Therefore I would classify this as a timeless masterpiece, at apparently bargain prices if you can find it. And you know I’ll be looking. (Thanks to swap partner deb.martinez for including this beautiful sample)

Falco4758

Want to love it but I don’t. Bought a bottle in 2015 and have barely used any. It smells very dated to me and it’s so linear. It smelled like something from the 80s and also has a medicinal note.

Purpose

Love at first wear for me.

When I first receive bottles one of the first things I like to do is sniff the atomizer to get a idea of the fragrance. My initial thought was that I had made a bad blind buy. Off the atomizer it smells like a heavy “dated” scent (no pun intended). I don’t like those types. I had sprayed my pillow before sniffing it and though “Hmm this ain’t so bad. But I still don’t love it. About a half hour in I began to get this really soft and warm vanilla/cinnamon combo that was so comforting. I kept smelling my pillow over and over and I liked it more and more.

Now on my first wear during a cold day is when the magic happened for me. I sprayed it on the inside of my jacket when mixed with the cold air gave off the most delicious smell I had ever sniffed. This will sound weird but for me it gave off this deliciously fresh bubblegum type of smell. It had a fresh, minty but warm, soft, creamy vanilla scent that just makes my legs weak. Oh man so damn good! I haven’t gotten any compliments on it thus far but I don’t even care. I love the heck out of it and it is now my signature winter scent. It’s a hidden gem no doubt.

Scent: 10/10. In the right weather (cool weather) it’s heavenly. Think bubblegum with a gourmandish twist.

Projection: Soft, as it should be for a scent like this. I don’t like loud fragrances anyway so this is perfect for me.

Longevity: On skin, 10-12hrs with about 3-4hrs projection. On clothes it lasts for days & smells even better the longer it stays.

Versatility: Can be worn day or night in cool spring, fall or winter weather. Definitely Unisex and can be worn on most occasions (besides maybe work because it’s a bit too “elegant”.)

And I just Iove the name “Meharees”. It sounds like the name of a young middle eastern girl that has unique gifts and heals the sick. She’s worshipped in a small city somewhere & the townspeople adore her. Hell, If I had a daughter I’d consider name her After this fragrance.

Coquita

I blind-bought this looking for a replacement for Kenzo Jungle Le Tigre or Organza Indecence, as I read that they resemble. Unfortunately, it is not the case, as this fragrance never goes into the semi-sweet territory where KJLT and OI belong; it's a dry unisex scent that opens up as a very woody zesty-patchouli on me and stays like that for a couple of hours. Then, the patchouli tones down a notch and the amber and vanilla pick up. No cinnamon, whatsoever. I think I'll have to try it a bit more, as I'm not sure if I like it or not.

01/19/21 edit: Trying it side by side with Musc Ravageur, they're 90% similar, but this one lacks the skanky opening of MR. In fact, I like Mehareés better.

6/10

Andy the Frenchy

I confirm this one is unisex, primarily designed for women.

As per L'Erbolario italian website:

"... the fragrance that every woman likes. And that can also please the man."

adrienn99

drop of musc ravageur mixed into a large bowl of vanilla cinnamon milk pudding.

scentstagram

If Musk Ravageur and L'air Du Desert Maroccain met somewhere in the desert, had a passionate affair and produced a love child - Meharees would be it.

If you 'love' Musc Ravageur you should save your pennies until you can buy a bottle. There is nothing like it and if you love it you should settle for nothing 'less'.

However, if you 'like' MR, already own it or you simply are in the market for a lush new oriental spicy - get you one of these stat. It. Is. GOOD. Well blended, rose, sandalwood, spice, something dry and slightly smoky - from the guaiac wood? Amber for sure, soft, round with vanilla undertones. Faint grassy patchouli. Yum. Unisex imo and absolutely gorgeous. Medium sillage, great longevity, value for money, all thumbs up.

Tyriel

Do not be fooled by the "cheap" looking bottle. This scent is amazing. It is sooo addictive. It is a silky vanilla/cinnamon concoction, smoothened out by the amber and woody notes. I am having trouble picking out the other notes, which is not a problem at all!

This is such a warming, cuddly fragrance that lasts for a good 12h on skin and more than 24h on clothes. It was still detectable 72h after spraying it on my pillow. Amazing stuff. Perfect for a rainy day with your SO, watching a movie, cuddling.

It is totally unisex.

Scent: 11/10
Projection: 8/10 (3-4h for two to three feet. One spray filled a room for over an hour)
Sillage: 8/10
Longevity: 10/10
Versatility 7/10 (Colder and/or rainy days)
Uniqueness: 9/10
Price-performance: 10/10 (I think I paid €22,-/50ml)
Total: 9/10

I am surprised the fragrantica profile claims this is a fragrance for men. This is not shown anywhere on the package. Of course a woman could still use it even if it was marketed for men.

The scent itself is warm and spicy and quite addictive imo.

I first tried Musc Ravageur when I was in London, it haunted me. Such a boozy sweet and naughty scent with contradictory elements of romance.

Several years later, I came across Meharees in my local pharmacy, and while I knew other L'Erbolario scents but Meharees was an unknown path...

It's thinner than the Frederic Malle fragrance but has a very alluring dusty element that makes it mysterious and closer -in character- to one of my favorites: L' Air Du Desert Marrocain.

Don't let the price and the availability in pharmacies fool you, this is a beautiful sandy vannilic cinnamon, ready for your night out. It has been my favorite club scent, as it has amazing longevity and medium sillage (I don't want to be the person that suffocates the dance floor).

This is blind-buy worthy if you're into orientals. If you're aware of Musc Ravageur and you want something less sticky & more ethereal with a sandy effect.

Beauty.

daenrf

Bought this blind, like many, after hearing how similar it is to Musc Ravageur.
And (imho) it is. When I spritzed it on, my eyes rolled back so fast I think I sprained something. This smells just about identical to my experience of Musc Ravageur.

Full disclosure: to me, Musc Ravageur smells exactly like the far dry down of Shalimar, vanillic, musky, gently spicy. And Méharées smells like that dry down as well, down to a T.
If you get something different from Musc R. then this might not smell that similar to you. I've heard so many impressions of Musc R. that I'm certain my perception of it is but one of many.
HOWEVER, if you love Musc R. but can't afford a full bottle (I hear you), Méharées is budget friendly enough that it's worth a blind buy if you can't find a sample.

Oh, and yes, just like the Malle fragrance, this is completely unisex.

GodKing

Meharees has been on my blind-buy list since 2014, but I just couldn't manage to pull-the-trigger on a full bottle purchase. Although I didn't buy into the Musc Ravageur hype several years ago, I fell in love with it but didn't purchase a bottle because it wasn't well-received by others, and I couldn't justify the price for yet another scent I enjoy while reading at home. So after my terrific experiences with Dolcelisir, coupled with all the positive reviews for Meharees, it was a no-brainer that I would one day own this fragrance.

I was fortunate to receive a sample recently and I am sad to report that I did not love Meharees. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice cinnamon-vanilla oriental spicy fragrance--and right priced too--but it is no substitute for Musc Ravageur, which I find to be much more masculine, thicker, richer and with much better performance on my skin. To me, Meharees has that lighter, fresher, almost Mediterranean type vibe that, while pleasant enough, was not what I was looking for from this scent. I am not a big fan of cloves when used in perfumery, but its presence was noticeably lacking from Meharees.

In the end, I found Meharees to be a pleasant lighter alternative to Musc Ravageur. However, it did not meet my lofty expectations so I will not be ordering a bottle. Your mileage may vary so give it a try...it's still a very nice fragrance.

mattin5

Didn't try the perfume but I used the shower gel a few times at my friend's house when I stayed at hers- so sensual, spicy, warm, beautiful! It was the only time I experienced smelling like my shower gel a few hours after I showered. Maybe because it was quite oily, so the scent stayed on the skin. Loved it! I want to try the perfume as well, and if it smells the same, as far as I'm concerned it's 100% unisex

ebaybeccis

This is a need-to-try frag for me! I’m not too excited about fragrances with a dominant sandalwood note though... I’d love to try this one reading all the positive reviews, but don’t quite dare to blind buy! What’s the woody notes like in this one?? Any thoughts on this is much appreciated...

zenais86

very good delicious arabic approacching perfume. I didn't expect that! i tried it bacause very good reviews... good job

Gemini66

I received my first 50ml bottle of Meharees yesterday and after 2 sprays I was struck with instant regret, Regret that I didn't purchase the 100ml bottle to be exact! Wonderfully crafted fragrance, on my skin I can detect the vanilla, cinnamon and a musk note? Whatever, I love the way it smells on me!I'm glad I've found an alternative to Jaipur for men which I love but can't wear because of it gives me severe headaches! They are not similar smelling but share that same feeling of being transported elsewhere when worn! There is nothing cheap smelling about this fragrance, and it is completely accessible for a man to wear! This I would describe as a scent of a well-traveled soul! Sexy, exotic.romantic, and blissful are the words I associate with Meharees! Male or Female this fragrance will compliment both! From further on I will purchase the 100ml because I know the 50ml isn't gonna last me too long! I highly recommend this fragrance, try before you buy if possible I hope you are as delighted with it as I am!

Absolutey gorgeous scent.
So many great reviews.
Just wanted to add this is not for men only. Definitely unisex, nothing that would make me not wear Méharées and I'm a woman

GILscent

Simply perfect for the cold weather, like today! A great, great alternative to Musc Ravageur. Cheaper and very good quality! L´Erbolario made a good job on this one.

Fireflower80

i live in italy where l'erbolario is quite common, and they made some great perfumes at very good prices.
this meharees is one of my favourites, very particular (i never sniffed musc ravageur), is warm, ambery, spicy, sweety sugary but in a dry way (as can be a date)
it perfect fit with the mood of the fragrance, a journey in a middle-eastern desert.
is a wonderful scent, i think that if were a dior, chanel, or maybe tom ford, this was considered a masterpiece, but maybe the real masterpiece is the musc ravageur that came before.
anyway, is a really, really great perfume for an amazing price (22 euros 50ml), one of the best price/quality perfumes ever, also because this does not smell absolutely synthetic or cheap, it smell absolutely natural.
what a beautiful perfume!
8,5/10

gtabasso

citrus top, no cinnamon, vanilla and musk with amber

Duskfall

The utter gorgeousness of Dolcelisir set my expectations high, but Meharees was a slight disappointment.

For the first 15 minutes it smells downright unpleasant resembling bug spray. At this stage it reminds me a little bit of Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain. When the weird chemical tone has vanished you're left with some cinnamony vanilla and a distant whisper of fruitiness in the background. Smells nice, but not particularly interesting

The performance is mediocre at best which enhances the bland impression. Yawn...

p.s. It bears a fleeting resemblance to Musc Ravageur in the opening, but MR smells much better and is a superior creation in every way (as it should be, considering the price). Don't expect Meharees to be a substitute for the real thing.

koret

it's warm, spicy comforting scent.

kinda reminds me when i was a child and my mom always bought me ginger candy on the bus. this thing smells like that!

opens up with blast of cinnamon and something zesty but that doesnt last long.

on the 10mins and on, the cinnamon still the strongest note i smelled. the vanilla and musk appear slightly in mid phase. i detect a hint of smells that kinda like soda.

this scent is not particularly linear IMO.

on my skin, this is absolutely gorgeous!

While I had heard of Meharees as the Musk Ravageur "dupe", this one got my attention when I started searching for a spicy oriental that wouldn't affect my budget.

I finally found it at a local pharmacy and gave it a try. A few hours later I went back and bought it, since I had spent the entire morning sniffing my wrist. It's warm and sexy and definitely doesn't smell cheap or synthetic.

I couldn't care less about the MR debate, this is an actually good, classic fragrance, by any standards. In my opinion, it gives most of the latest designers' launches in female fragrances a run for their money.

"Sugar and spice and everything nice"
An excellent scent, especially considering it's affordability.

The opening is captivating with ethereal spices and baby powder. An amber heart follows suit, it's nice and rich with a subtle animalic facet and gradually fades into a musky drydown that is pretty if somewhat safe and simplistic. Overall a very pleasant composition that with a little more structure and volume could pass for niche.

It is ideal to satisfy that craving for sweetness I get every once in a while, and has good lasting power and a subtle projection. It's in accord with popular tastes, in other words: a compliment getter ;-) The comparisons with Musc Ravageur however seem unjustified IMHO and no one will take this for a 400$ frag.

eleozora

This is my favourite every day scent. In my opinion, it's light enough for daytime and summer, but also definitely warm enough for cold winter nights. It also layers beautifully, since it's sweet yet dry.

MrsPress

I just got a sample of this. I've heard how much it is like Musc Ravageur...and it is true. I did not expect it to be that similar. The progression is different, Musc Ravageur opens more citrusy and is a little more smokey and complex, but this is definitely as close as anyone could expect from a fragrance a fraction of the price. Not sure if I'll go for the FB of this or Musc Ravageur, mostly bc I live in the US and this is hard to come by. If I lived somewhere that this was readily available, I would go for this one.

sarabx5

If you have the opportunity to put your hand on, do it, even by blind buy. This scent has a niche DNA.

I have the other perfume from the same house, DOLCELIXIR, (Hermes Ambre Nargile killer). Both are FANTASTIC.

Offer yourself 2 superb scents for less than 50 dollars.

A must try

Superb scent. It opens more like a cinnamon-pepper combo as opposed to animalic sharp cloves in Musc Ravageur. But in the drydown these are extremely similar. Performance is 1/3rd of MR and projection is apprximately 50% of it but surely hands it the edge over the MR because you can wear this anytime anywhere without having to worry about invading spaces. Superb quality for price. Very well composed scent for price. I enjoy wearing it. MR is another stellar scent but I have heard recent batches are weak. Yet to test those. Overall an easy 8/10.

laura710

I bought it yesterday after sniffing it on a blotter and I loved it. To my surprise, it wasn't as hot and churchy as I thought (because of myrrh, which isn't listed on the notes but it's definitely there).
Today I sprayed it on mg wrist and... Magic. At the beginning I could smell citrusy notes and a bit of myrrh, it was quite fresh. After a little while I began smelling rose, a lot of it. But it wasn't overwhelming at all, it's a delicate creamy rose, and I also smelled dates, sandalwood, and then vanilla and amber. A bit of cinnamon. On me the main notes were myrrh, rose, sandalwood, vanilla and amber.
It's sweet and spicy, not really a gourmand but similar.
By the way, I was expecting a very intense sillage with this one, instead it was very close to the skin, which made me even happier. It's a warm wintery scent, but not as strong as I feared it to be.

EDIT: after a couple of hears of owning this, I gave it to my dad, because I have been smelling many niche and high quality perfumes and unfortunately, this doesn’t work for me anymore. I know it sounds pretentious but it is true. It is not bad whatsoever, but it is too sinthetic for my nose - I can't stand synthetic smelling perfumes anymore. Plus it is quite masculine-leaning, not really for me.

mesziman

funny because it is described as a myrrh and date fragrance. I dont see them in the notes list . I will sample I am curious

mj_naja

This is my new favorite! I heard that my beloved artist G-Dragon adores Musc Ravageur, but when I googled for MR the price tag made me shock lol. So I read comments in Fragrantica and they said about Meharees then I ordered this perfume from Ebay right away. Price is very reasonable.

The scent is definitely unisex. Warm, comfort, inviting, not too sweet, not too masculine.

First 5-10 minutes I can smell a little bit of lovely lemon/orange, after that it is gorgeous musk, vanilla and sweet oriental feeling. I really love this perfume I received a lot of compliments from both men and women saying something like I smell so good from inside and sexy. Staying power on my skin is around 6 hours.

julieekerr

this is a beauty. i absolutely love it. its like a unisex version of coco chanel but with a creamy woody powdery finish. I think it odd its listed as mans frag only. defo unisex. I love the guerlain L'art et la matiere collection: cuir beluga tonka, bois armeine etc. this has a similar vibe but for a fraction of the price. It opens with a warm woody spice then flows into a warm vanilla spice with a creamy powdery finish. It is close to getting into my top 5 i love it so much. It's not too sweet like some of the female vanilla frags but has a gentle sweetness - I understand the date note others have mentioned. silage is 5/10 longevity is 6/10 but for that price you can just re-apply it.

On the lookout for TF Sahara Noir substitute (since it is discontinued) I stumbled upon this little gem. Beautiful scent, warm, spicy, woody! I don't see incense in the list of ingredients but I swear that was the first thing I thought reminded me of Sahara Noir. The lady at the shop also said there is dates in it, giving that delicate sweetness (in no way it is fruity or cheapo sweet note), I don't see dates listed here either. Maybe it's an updated formula they now carry? Anyways, definitely on my wish list. I still have a tester to see how's it doing in the longevity department, but so far, I love it!

Croman

Only one word:masterpiece.

To Themuffinman:Your fragrance is not fake.L'erbolario changed labeling Acqua di profumo to only PROFUMO on all new boxes and bottles.Profumo is same thing like EAU DE PARFUM.

Mayweed79

I too had to try this as I have a huge crush on Musc Ravageur - and sure enough; it's amazingly similar but this one doesn't have the sharpness that I sometimes experience with Ravageur. This is the same scent, but silky smooth. I can spray 6-8 sprays and it's not remotely overbearing, I just feel surrounded by a soft spicy cloud.

Ravageur has sligthly better longevity on me, and stays truer to the original scent even after many, many hours, but Meharees is probably my favourite of the two even so; just more wearable.

frageazy

Have an extra bottle of this. PM me if interested.

KJS88

So, the legends are true.

Musc Ravageur was a masterpiece (in a way only Roucel could pull off) because it achieved what it did without any floral notes, just wood, spice, and synthetic notes.

But Méharées is a masterpiece because its creator achieved what Roucel did with cheaper, fewer, and more natural ingredients. This is an essay in how rose with spice, orange peel, and vanillic woods can achieve a gorgeous, sensuous musk without the skank.

I've worn Musc Ravageur for years, since it's release, and I have to say I prefer this. I respectfully disagree that this smells more synthetic. To me it is very much a softer, more natural, "pastel" Eau de Toilette rendition of Roucel's masterpiece. And that, in my opinion, makes it significantly more wearable. What's more, I've only had this for two hours and I've been complimented half a dozen times. I've never been complimented on Musc Ravageur.

Terrific.

@Themuffinman

I think is very unlikely that that you would have a fake. I never seen or heard about a fake L'erbolario fragrance. Maybe is a new design, how is the fragrance, is smell proeminent as alcohol? How much is lasting on your skin?

Later edit. I just seen on youtube the latest video of FragBoy Stewie, and he have a bottle just like yours. So is pretty much sure that L'erbolario changed the labels for Meharees and Dolcelisir.

anna.dkr5

@Themuffinman: Probably, unless L'Erbolario has changed the label on their bottles. However, I went to the official website, and the pictures show bottles with "Acqua di Profumo" on.

Themuffinman

I was wondering if someone could give me some info. I bought this online and the picture associated with it had on the bottle 'acqia di profumo' whereas the bottle I've received says only 'profumo', have I been sold a fake? Any help is much appreciated.

Migotka

This fragrance is divine. Not very expensive, but for this price, you get a scent worth of a niche.

Meharees is an oriental goodness, almost a gourmand scent. Not strictly foody, but nonetheless it has quite a lot of powdery vanilla that combined with rose and cinnamon smell so delicious! As it develops, Meharees shows more of its woody/incense face with some subtle myrrh undertones (it used to be listed in the ingredients, not any more for some reason).

I really enjoy wearing it, but unfortunately it does not have a very big projection and could last a bit longer on my skin. For this price, I am not complaining too much, but it would be nice if the parameters of it were as impressive as the scent itself.

dormir6

In Hungary it is still available.

deanyunuss

did they discontinue this masterpiece ? I could not find any in my country, not even from their counter!

tatonnement

Unreal. I bought this on ebay for about 20 EUROS after reading the reviews on here that this smells similar to Musc Ravageur. And guess what? IT REALLY DOES. Minus the huge musky furry note that Musc R. has, it is uncanny in its resemblance especially in the dry down. If you have a good nose, you will definitely notice the differences between the two but from a distance, they could be twins. Meharees, while inexpensive, is not cheap smelling nor overly synthetic in that nauseating kind of way. It is actually quite beautiful and smells of quality. I get warm woods, spices, vanilla and musk. Meharees has become my everyday scent and Musc R. is now being saved for special occasions. Do yourself a favor and get yourself a bottle of this!

smellslikedimond

There is a lot of discussion around this fumes similarity to Lutens Musc R. To me one of the differences is the prominence of the guaic wood in Meharees. It stands out quite a bit more in my mind and is why I love this one

tfirebaugh

Meharees is a class act!

The vanilla, cinnamon and amber are all present from the beginning with the most gentle whisper of dried citrus peel, almost like Earl Grey tea accompanying the mix. On my skin, it starts out so soft and subtle that I thought it might get lost right away.

I quickly discovered how much the resinous amber accord really begins to blossom and intensify after a few hours. I have read of it's kinship to the timeless Musc Ravageur and I TOTALLY see it. I wasn't crazy about the loud musk note in MR, so Meharees is the perfect fit for me. I've yet to wear it in Winter Months, and I can only imagine how much more it will come alive then.

For the price, I consider this a perfume of great quality. Do pick up a bottle, you won't regret it!

PS: Does anyone know who the Perfumers are for L'Erbolario? I'm curious to know if this was made as a "knock off" to MR, or if it was created independently and has a similar vibe. Thanks for any info!

deadidol

I love cheap thrills, and L’Erbolario do cheap thrills well. This is the infamous Musc Ravageur clone, and as I write this, I have Méharées on one arm and Musc Ravageur on the other. The parallels are there, but this is not a full substitute.

Méharées starts with a spicy cinnamon and a delicately metallic clove. The clove delivers a faint medicinal chill to what is otherwise a warm tea-like oriental. It’s more balsamic than sweet, and there’s a fig/myrrh kind of desiccation to it. It’s somewhere between chai and an oily benzoin. The scent is quite linear and flat, but it wears pleasantly and is absolutely worth the $25 or so that it costs for a 50ml bottle (I had a friend bring it back from Italy for me). However, if you compare it to Musc Ravageur directly, its inadequacies are revealed.

The most obvious difference between the two is the musk. Musc Ravageur has a blistering civet at the start that’s entirely missing from Méharées. Furthermore, Musc Ravageur is more bodied and refined whereas Méharées comes off as gaunt and shrill in comparison. Having said that, over the course of thirty or so minutes, the two scents drift closer together and what’s left is a fairly analogous base, but I still wouldn’t say they’re identical. Musc Ravageur becomes a rich tonka over time that remains fairly refined; Méharées is notably hollow and higher pitched in comparison, becoming more of a synthy vanilla-resin affair. Musc Ravageur maintains its raunchy musk whereas Méharées never had one to begin with. Méharées smells cheaper in comparison, but not necessarily cheap unto itself. And that’s the key here: Musc Ravageur is about 8X the price of Méharées, but Méharées doesn’t smell 8X as cheap as Musc Ravageur. One way to look at Méharées is that it’s a sturdy, simple scent that just happens to resemble a more developed and expensive scent. While fans and owners of Musc Ravageur would inevitably be let down by this, for the less nitpicky, the dramatic price difference makes Méharées well worth it. It’s no true substitute because it lacks what makes Musc Ravageur what it is: the musk. But if you hate Musc Ravageur’s animalic musk yet enjoy the warm spiced vanilla-tea that it becomes, and as long as you’re okay with a less cultivated composition overall, go with Méharées and save yourself a massive chunk of change.

elislo

This has been my signature perfume for a couple of years, when I was very young. Speziato, warm he remembers the medioriente..what I love a lot. This perfume remembers me my summers..beach friends and first loves.
I love him/it but I don't succeed anymore unfortunately in bringing it..suffocate me and me tired!

Mieroli87

I like it: it's sweet but also spicy, warm. It reminds me of some Christmas pie or biscuit, it's perfect for winter. However, not too heavy or sugary.

psebi101

A wave of spices with a musky base followed by a sweetness from the dried fruits. I don't like it, as it is cloyingly sweet and makes me nauseous by being also quite strong in the first hour.
On my skin it gets powdery and I think it's more feminine than masculine. It dries down to a simple sweet scent.

Excellent choice for the fall and winter months. I get sweet dates, sultry resins, sandalwood, amber, cinnamon and musk. This lasts anywhere from 6 - 9 hours on me with moderate projection. L'Erbolario has really done a superb job with Dolcelisir (in my top 3) and Meharees.

Update: After wearing this more in the fall and winter, I can truly say I love this fragrance. I've had the opportunity to test Chergui and Musc Ravageur (I'd put all 3 in the same family- dry, sultry, sweet) and I believe Meharees is just a more pleasant scent...and it's cheaper. I'm so glad to have this in my wardrobe. One of my top 5 scents...EVER!

polly golightly

anna.dkr5

Just a reminder... this is actually marketed toward women. I've seen it in the women section of L'Erbolario stores countless times in Italy.

Evelyn Orchid

I was so happy when I've found this interesting and captivating little curiosity. It's listed for men but it's rather unisex, as some of the reviewers pointed out, so I was delighted to wear it some long time ago. I can't quite remember all of the notes now that some time passed I haven't worn it but I recall the air of a luxurious refinement embracing lavish elegance and lifestyle that subtly evokes a sense of the exotic and an image of oriental golden Deserts. It's like a warm touch of a deluxe cashmere texture at your fingertips. I think it's time to purchase it again and wrap myself with this sensual, sophisticated caress. This remarcable oriental has a beautifully balanced smooth flow but at the same time attracting your attention all the time.

Molko

Very interesting oriental scent that I got it today. The first sniff is weird, I don't know what I can smell, something old, dirty/churchy and at the same time sweet spicies, maybe the mix of myrrh, patchouli and vanilla. It calms down fast into softer powdery dusty vanilla, sandalwood, this part reminds me of Shalimar but so much sweeter and funny, not as mature and raw. I think I like it, I always dig my nose into my arm to smell more:)
Sillage is rather close to the skin or moderate, lasting is also max. 4-5 hours on my skin.
Very addictive scent, I love it already:) I think it can be use in hotter weather also, because not so strong, on me it's silky and lightish

Anaïs Nin

L’Erbolario‘s Meharees is a hot, sensual, exotic fragrance. It starts off medicinal with hot cinnamon! It made me think of the exotic spice market in Marrakech, Morroco. The dates add a sweetness to the scent, they are sweet with vanillic orange drizzle. Maybe it is my imagination, I sense a bit of curry powder, it is used daintly here. The amber is warm and rich with a hint of cinnamon underneath. The Myrrh then joins in to complement the amber. The myrrh adds an exotic touch to the scent, I am transported to the hot dry Sahara Desert. I adore the sultry vanilla drydown. It lasts for about 7 hours and the sillage is soft for me. This was a great blind buy for me (Not affiliated but purchased from CyberCucina.com)! The fragrance is marketed for men, but women can wear this too!

For men only? I don't think so. This smells very sweet on me.

Definitely exotic gourmand but soft and mellow. Smells natural and very Middle Eastern - feels like sweet, spicy dust storm. Interesting and attractive.

In addition to the mentioned spicy notes, dates and myrrh, the official site of L'Erbolario talks about "woody and ambery notes. fresh accords, enriched with warm and velvety tones, with a mild and sweet background" and into the list of ingredients of the bath collection is mentioned "cotton oil" and honey. Can't say about the honey, but actually cotton can be also part of the composition of the perfume, even sugar. I believe ginger and vanilla as well cause Meharees remind me Vaniglia e Zenzero by L'Erbolario (arbitrarily translated in Vanilla & Ginger by Fragrantica) then probably those can be part of the composition.
And yes this is so similar, the smooth version of Musc Ravageur to make us doubt of the precious and expensive raw materials of certain niche/elite producers.
Honestly who has some knowledge of marketing knows that, despite the ingredients, some expensive products are sold with an high price just to catch the attention and money of rich believers.
Meharees is a truly beautiful and classic "One Thousand and One Nights" perfume.
A sunset in Egypt.
A lot of sandal in the drydown.

anna.dkr5

@gregoriou5: I own both Meharees and Spicebomb. Maybe it's just me, but I don't find them similar.

gregoriou5

I've had so many compliments since I've been wearing this. It's definitely going to become my signature scent I think.

For people who are comparing this with Spice Bomb, then they're definitely right as I've been asked if that is the fragrance I'm wearing. I haven't tried it though, so can't compare them.

The rumors are true, Meharees is indeed very much like Musc Ravageur... and even better!!

Meharees opens up with sweet orange and dried dates and eventually dries down to almost chocolatey spicy musky vanilla. Like said, Meharees smells like the best part of MR - the drydown after the pissy musk clove top notes. Also Meharees is fairly cheap and can be easily applied freely without having the feeling of smelling too much of perfume. L de lolita is also mentioned here and I partially agree that all three MR, L and Meharees share a salty quality but lolita leans more towards the gourmand side due to the caramel.

Normally I'm sceptic about "reminds me of" perfumes but this totally exceeded my expectancies! Absolutely worth it!!

Chicago Tony T

A true masterpiece up their with LDDM by Tauer. I never smelled MR so I can't speculate. This is a very dry scent. iDK if the notes listed are accurate as I feel their is more. Maybe some cinnamon and Tonka. This is very long lasting with mega sillage! A very cozy and romantic scent best worn on cooler days. A blind buy that will be in collection as long as I am alive!!

rossyegio5

Gigi89

Cheaper version of Musc Ravageur! very good fragrance!

heymoe9

I was rearranging my perfume cupboard and I found the bottle of this perfume. I know I got
It a while ago, put it in the cupboard and forgot it. What a fool I am.

This smells so wonderful on me I can't stand it. Softly spicy, it almost makes me hungry it's so good. Musk always pops out on me, but with this it blends so well with the other notes it's not predominant as it usually is.

It reminds me of Palm Springs in the summer. I would take my kids there then because it's so hot the hotels are cheaper, and they love hotels. We would stop at Hadley's, which is a little store that sells the dates that grow in the area. We'd buy the dates then go to the dinosaur museum. The smell of the desert, the dates, sun, kids splashing in the pool, this perfume sums up the happiness I felt then.

chip

My God this is soooooooooo similar to Musc Ravageur! I've got both and though MR is a tad more musky and has clove in it, nobody will notice the difference after 1-2 hours. On the first spritz its about 50%-60% similar to MR, but once it has dried down, its 90% similar to MR. After 2 bottles of MR, I've now turned to Meharees as the ultimate substitute that is wayyyyyyy cheaper!!

anna.dkr5

@bobekecske: this fragrance is actually marketed towards women. I live in Italy, and it is sold in the women's section of L'Erbolario stores and retailers. I think the admins might want to correct this. While it can be unisex, Méharées was meant to be worn by women, and loads of women here have had at least a product from this specific line in their lives.

bobekecske

Since everyone was likening it to Musc Ravageur (which I was always excited to smell but have not done so till this day as it's hard to come by where I live), I got very excited to find this on a good price being sold by someone online.
Oh the disappointment. Serves me right for ignoring that this is supposed to be targeted to men.
Don't get me wrong, it's nice, bit spicy, mainly ambery, warm and rich, great value for money as it seems potent and well done. But I will never reach for this.
Reminds me very much of L by Lolita Lempicka (which is marketed to women), which I liked but always neglected therefor passed on to someone else.
I bet this would smell nice on a man (and probably many women too) but my SO found it bit too sweet for his liking, so that ship has sailed as well.

Furby76

This was on my doorstep when I arrived home from holiday today, and I couldn't wait to smell it due to the many positive reviews on here.

Since I was wearing Bvlgari Man Extreme (from the flight) I had to spray it on a clean item of clothing. From the first spray it sent out a gorgeous sweet smell that reminded me of something I loved and recognised from somewhere but couldn't quite put my finger on it. The scent didn't last a huge amount of time on the clothing, so after bathing I had to spray it on my skin. And this made a huge difference. Meharees is good on clothes but just amazing on skin, and that memory of smell hit me straight away.......my favourite soft drink root beer! I can not stop smelling my wrist without having the reminder of bringing an ice cold tin of root beer to my mouth. Beautiful.

ParfumFetiche

This review is based on decants. Tested both Meharees and Musc Ravaguer. Meharees opens up with prominent sweet date note while MR with prominent clove and a touch of musk. Clove+musk gives an animalic feel to it. Once they evolves into mid development, they both smell almost identical with cinnamon+vanilla, which is gourmandish and very pleasant. MR isn't as loud as many say with average projection while Meharees has below average projection. Both have good longevity on my skin. IMO, Meharees is FB worthy.

mabduaguye

First off, Thanks to all the "Fragranticans" who voted, else I'd never have stumbled across this frag. Being a lover of Musc Ravageur I decided to get a bottle from Ebay, and I am very glad I did.The best way to describe this is that it smells like the "best" part of MR at about a fifth of the price.

Longevity is not great on my skin, but I am not complaining, on my clothes I easily get 6-8 hours. At its price, Its definitely worth every cent and then some. If you love MR, this is a must-have!!! I am looking forward to trying the shower gel and body cream sometime in the future.

One thing though, after getting this, I realised that I actually rather like the opening of MR x_x

EDIT (30-08-2014)

The more I use this, the more It reminds me of Spicebomb. I speculate that it is the cinnamon+vanilla combo. Side-by-Side, they do not smell exactly alike but still, SB comes to mind each time I use this.

Daniel.Friedrich42

Liking the heart and base of Musc Ravageur but hating the overkill of cloves in the top and also really liking L de Lolita lempicka i had to check out Meharees, especially for the price(30€ for the 50ml here in germany).

to get it out of the way first: yes, it's very very similar to MR with way less cloves and it's also a less feminine and a little less sweet L

Given the "official" more detailed note breakdown this kinda what i get out of it:

Top notes: orange, rose, cinnamon, dates, a hint of clove
Middle notes: cedarwood, guaiaco wood, patchouli, sandalwood, myrhh
Base notes: vanilla, amber, musks

Pretty fruity right after spraying it on but not like tropical fruit, more like dried sugared fruits with rose and a pinch of clove in the top.
Gets more woody, incensey and sweeter in the heart, though the cinnamon stays very long for me while cloves and rose fade away.
In the base the vanilla really outshines the rest but is kept in check by the musk. it never gets cloying but has a rather dry spicey feel to it.

Overall this is either a vanilla-gourmand or oriental spicey depending on how it turns out on your skin. Either way it's a very well blended fragrance.

Definitely a Unisex since neither the feminine nor masculine side overshadows the other.

Last about 12 hours(excellent) on me while projecting about arm's length. Great compliment factor from all the people that noticed it on me.

In the end this is imo a better version of MR at a fifth of the price.

If you liken the theme of vanilla/cinnamon/spices/musk you have to check it out if can get ahold of it

anna.dkr5

Nataja

Now this is a serious love potion,GORGEOUS;GORGEOUS;GORGEOUS!!!!!

Yamba1

This is a gem. Yes, it is very similar to Musc Ravageur as others have said, but to be honest, it's better in my opinion. MR tries a little too hard to be noticed, and has the tendency on me to become heavy and cloying, maybe due to the cloves.
Meharees by comparison, is softer and more appealing. This is the type of scent that draws you in for more. I guess the dates are adding the sweetness, but I could have sworn there was vanilla or tonka in there too.
This is definitely unisex, so ladies don't be shy!
You can pick this up quite cheaply on eBay from an Italian trader with reasonable international shipping charges. Believe me, it is worth every penny.

Jim_Jones

At the risk of sounding like a texty teen: OMFG!
This scent is a beautiful, a handsomely presented gourmand brother of Musc Ravageur. I have a nice size decant of Musc Rav, but have been putting off buying a full size retail bottle b/c of its not too economic price. I was confident, due to the "...reminds me of" votes (thanks to all fragrantics who voted) that this would smell at least SOMEWHAT like Musc Rav; but this is superb, DEFINATELY worth the purchase, esp for such a well done scent at a great price and A MUST HAVE (as someone already said below) if you are looking for somthing like and Musc Rav, whether you own it (Musc Rav.) or not, grab a bottle of THIS and in just a couple sprays, watch this one unfold on your skin. I find it to be more complex then Musc Rav on my skin, personally.

I would give it 5/5 hands down, but will say 4.5/5 as longevity and silage could be better.

All in ALL --. AWESOME FRAGRANCE -- perhaps even one of my top ten, we'll see.

Mellyhelly

While I'm not generally into L'Erbolario, I think that Méharées is a nice job. I discovered this when I was looking for a myrrh scent that could smell more mellow than most pungent stuff.
I like the smell of myrrh but many myrrh-based scents becomes musty and acrid on me. I tried L'Occitane Eau d'Iparie and it was awful on me!
L'Erbolario also makes Myrrhae which I don't really deal very well and this one also made with myrrh. I like this one better, because it's sweeter and more layered, still quite a simple fragrance not many facets.
Anyway it worked wonders on an old friend of mine and smelled just ok on my skin with a musty edge given maybe by dates, which I love to eat btw.
It conjures up images of the desert and places I've been to,
It's very longlasting and exotical from a Western point of view.
If it works with your chemistry is a very good one.

thoushaltnotdefy

For those of you who want to get your hands on this fragrance but are struggling to find it, if you search L'Erbolario on eBay under International Sellers, you can get a full bottle of this for only 20 euros from Italy.
Mine is on the way, will review it when it arrives :)

anna.dkr5

This hadn't been in my rotation for a while. I've decided to wear it now, and it's making me feel so relaxed. :)

lovetribe

i don't like this.is female scent.nauseant!!!!!

anna.dkr5

@Christianne: I live in Italy, and Méharées is sold in the women section of L'Erbolario retailers. While it is definitely unisex, it was meant to be targeted toward women. :)

christianne1

This is an absolutely beautiful, sensuous, powdery and warm spicy oriental. Meharees is completely unisex (not sure why it says for men). It is REALLY hard to locate though. I had to purchase a decant just to be able to try it. If anybody knows where you can get a full bottle (that ships to the US) please message me!

I am a huge Musc Ravageur fan and wear it regularly so I am not quite getting the same clone effect as some others. To me they are in the same scent family but still smell pretty different. But 158 people clearly disagree with me. :) Meharees is the much tamer version, less animal, less punch. It starts out smelling a lot like the mid-point of MR so for those who do not care for the ka-bam opening of MR but like the dry down, you would probably love this.

This retails for only $40, unbelievable price. The only trick is finding it. While it is MUCH less expensive than MR, the lasting power is substantially lesser as expected. But at this price you can spray it as much as you like! And it is the closest thing you will find to MR. So, if Frederic Malle isn't in your budget, this is a terrific substitute. Frederic Malle isn't in my budget either, I am just going into deep debt because of my champagne taste and beer budget when it comes to perfume. ;)

If I can ever locate a bottle of Meharees it is SOLD that is for certain. Love finding something great for a great price. I get a little buzz. :)

EDIT: Woo-hoo!! Thanks to a kind Fragrantica member who directed me to an Ebay seller in Italy, I now have a bottle on the way!!

bcoops

i just wanted to follow up on this. This was in my full rotation for last fall/winter/spring and back in again this year.Of all my fragrances that I own, decanted and tested including top niche and designers this is still at the top of my list.If wearing it today over a year later I can sometimes pick out something new in it.Its unique (at least me), performs great and is a steal for the price. It has taken on its own world. Its no longer a MR clone to me....It gets compliments and odds are no one has ever smelt it! In my search for my 'holy grail' I beginning to wonder if it has been with me all along ...

Update from me. I really do like this, particularly the dry down. I shan't try to describe it as it has already been done so much better than I could.
However, I doesn't last at all on me ,1 hour tops and then I'm having to press my nose right to my skin.
Oh well.
So I have a nearly 50ml bottle going if there are any fans out there who want some and have something STRONG I could try.

Oh I'm soooo excited. I found a full, new bottle on ebay today for £30!. I have no idea what it smells like, but it is my kind of perfume I know that. AND I was thinking of getting MR and or LDDM.
Can't wait for it to arrive and will update!

silverlook1

Ok it's very similar to MR but I gotta say after some heavy testing of them both.. Meharees is better.. I don't care what anyone says. MR opening simply reeks. I had people on the bus changing seats (preety sure because of it ;) ) .. I can't say the same for Meharees which is sweet and sexy from the very beginning. The opening has like a weird eucalyptus note..which some people who smelled it also got (I know it's not listed) but I guess the mix puts off this kind of vibe to it. All in all - a GREAT, sweet, sexy fragrance for a great price (so take that all You niche bastards who charge ridiculous money for even the simplest of your fragrances) ;)

taninha07

i fell in love w/ this one , i must add i never really liked musc ravageur , simply bc the clove was bam ! in ur face ... 2 me , if both fragrances must be compared , meharees is so much more wearable ... its the kind of fragrance that i wear and it does not wear me ! its sexy enough , close to the skin enough , these days i wear it alone , and w/ my main man .

dormir6

This one is really wonderful! For me it's not oasis and desert, but angels' wings. Sweet, orange oil at first and then something mouthwatering, delightful, sweetness in light clouds. Heaven itself!!!!
Much better than the Profumum Roma line for example. Simple winner even amongst the niche perfumery!

mendwillie

Wonderful. This is identical to Musc Ravageur. Brilliant I love it really, chic, elegant, sensual, sexy, charming, perfect mix. Powerful in longevity and sillage. I need to buy another bottle. Wanna have this to me forever. For lovers of sweet perfumes full of spices from the East.

I classify it thus:
Smell: 1000/10
Projection: 10/10
Longevity: 10/10

hermyonee

have to try this one, but I'm rather skeptical, how could it be very close to Musc Ravageur and Battito d'Ali at the same time, those fragrances have nothing in commun! Seeing the notes, and after reading the other reviews, I'd rather say it's closer to Musc Ravageur, but still it might be a good try ;)

bigjakeriz

I purchased this thinking it would be a better alternative to Musc Ravageur. And surprisingly I enjoyed musc ravageur more. This shares a big resemblence to musc ravageur with a little bit of L'air du desert marrocain which I did not enjoy. It shares the same sour note that is in lddm that I did not enjoy along with the toned down clove and cinnamon. It's just not appealing to me. Musc ravageur is a better fragrance overall. To each his own.

To my nose: the strongest note is opoponax, although not listed, I believe this imparts the myrrh aspect of it’s ‘myrrh and dates’ description. If you are unfamiliar with this note, resinous opoponax smells of incense, amber and mustiness. It’s extraordinarily beautiful in the same way that old second hand book shops smell when they are overheated by winter radiators, in short, cosy and ancient. Les Nereides released ‘Imperial Opoponax’ of which I have a small decant. This fragrance combines the musty old book shop with a hint of cherry sweetness, again, another wondrous creation.
Alongside this note, an air of dirty musk resides, giving Meharees an animalic feel. This is not the clean whiff of laundry so evident in contemporary musks, but a big old whiff of the unwashed, ultimately rendering it a rather sexy fragrance. For those fearsome of ‘dirty musks’ such as Musc Koublai Khan and Musc Tonkin, you will find L’ Erbolario’s interpretation somewhat easier on the nose, yes, sexy, but not ‘inside out second day knickers’.
A third olfactory sensation comprises of a vaguely dried fruit scent. I feel this is the least obvious of it’s components. Is it the date provided in it’s description? I’m not sure. There is a noticable sweet ‘mulled wine-like’ smell that could be constituted of date, raisin, even a slightly plummy jam. Although the fruit appears, it appears shyly, lurking in the background.
Atmospherically, I can recall the dusty watercolour illustrations of my Children’s Illustrated Bible, vividly depicting the exodus through the desert or the Three Kings bearing fragrant gifts at the Nativity. As an adult I have shed any latent belief in biblical stories or indeed organised religion, however, I find the fragrant link to this childhood memory both beguiling and consoling. Overall, this is a scent of comfort, the warming hug of a lover on a cold night, languorous and appeasing. There is no exuberant stimulation here, it’s a soft edged, muzzy headed, fragrant Valium.

I wish I could get a hold of this! Sounds great. Has anybody residing in the UK bought it?

ClareN

This is a really pretty scent and it does resemble Musc Ravageur, but it doesn't do it for me the way MR does. I remember MR having a stronger and more feral musk element. This is a tamer spiced vanilla/amber, closer to L de Lolita Lempicka than Musc Ravageur, in my opinion. They all share the same odd salty-vanilla-tonka base, but Musc Ravageur has something the others don't have. It's been almost a year since I last tested MR, so I'll need to test it again to see what that is, unless my brain is tricking me.

anna.dkr5

@Stjoseph777 - you're welcome! Let us know how you like it. :)

stjoseph777

Got it thanks Anna. : )

anna.dkr5

Bought it today. It's as good as I remembered it to be: dry, sweet, sour, gentle, and sensual.

Méharée is a French word that means: "Journey on camel back".

This fragrance is supposed to remind one of a journey in the desert, travelling from an oasis to the next. Date trees are often found in oases, hence the date fruit note in this perfume.

It's hard to get bored by this fragrance because it's so multifaceted, and keeps you entertained. It envelops you gently and follows you around for many hours. A couple of sprays maximum and it can be worn anywhere, because it will remain discreet. This has a lot going for it, and has more character than many other much more expensive fragrances. Also, not many people wear it.
Quality-wise, it even beats some Dior and D&G perfumes. It contains natural ingredients and it's not tested on animals. The price is great. What an affordable treat!

*There's a whole line of products with the same scent, including body cream. it can usually be found at cybercucina.com*

EDIT: If you're thinking of purchasing the deodorant cream, it doesn't smell very much like the perfume anymore. It used to smell exactly like it, and it projected well, too. Now, I'm pretty sure it's been reformulated, because all I get is very light talcuum powder mixed with incense.

anna.dkr5

I've used the shower gel and deodorant before. I loved both, but this is not a scent everyone will appreciate. It's sweet and bitter at the same time. It has spices, and a hint of a medicinal smell at times. The drydown is sweeter. I haven't tried the perfume yet, but it is definitely my next purchase. I plan to wear it in Summer, too.

samuelsingh

Does anyone know where can i buy this one?

Greg1965

Well, after reading the revievs and especially seeing that it "was much like MR", I decided to buy a bottle without even knowing how it smelled.
The simple thought was... It can't go wrong.
I got the bottle last week and I must say, I was pleasent suprised by it. Yes you could say it is MR family. I like the MR better but this is a very good scent. Worth buying and using.

evhely

full_of_colours

Great unisex choice for lovers of Oriental Spicy fragrances! As someone mentioned, it is sweet and dry. Lush resins with a good dose of spices, vanilla and musk! Can't go wrong for the price. I smelled Musc Ravageur yesterday and yes, they are indeed close cousins.

emmanuel.santana

if anyone interested in selling a bottle of this please pm me

bcoops

I have Dolcelisir on the way...cant wait to checkk that out

fgallarini

What can I say, L'erbolario has some really good pefumes at very affordable prices. OK, they are not long lasting but hey, they're almost at supermarket costs!

Menares is unique, has a great oriental flow to it.

sistermoon

Oh Meharees! Warming, hot spices and woods, amber and (very modest) vanilla with subtle zesty citrus notes (orange oil?) all wrapped up in lots of airy and kinda salty musk. I do get the idea of dates, because there is a thick sweet note here that I usually get from dates and figs. Now that sounds like a lot of notes and impressions, but in reality it's all very well blended and effortlessly morphed into one thing. It really is unique. This is not your average spicy oriental. I'd say it's too musky for that label. It's a bit of a skin scent - the kind that stays close and smells like the better version of me (Wouldn't I like to think that!) and yet when I smell it closely I can also sense a bit of... err... rumble in the jungle.?. (won't say more).

Well, you'll just have to smell if for yourself, because I know that I'm not making much sense. But overall what I'm struggling to say is that Meharees is a very sensual fragrance with oriental vibe, and a lot more to it. It's also one of 2 or 3 fragrances that I would dare to describe as sexy. I don't like using that word to describe a fragrance because every ad does it to sell yet another fruity floral to young girls. When I say it, I really, REALLY mean it. But of course, these things are a matter of personal taste and opinion... Meharees is far from desperate and attention-seeking as you can get. Instead, it draws you in and keeps you interested. It also makes you write silly reviews. I'm in love. :)

arabrabsotrab

It does not remind me of Battito D'Ali at all. More like Musk Ravageur, but the drydown is soft, feminine. I am more and more addicted. True, that it does not last long but never mind, while it lasts it is really nice on a female. I can also imagine it on a man. Sexy!

5354alice

I had this one, and I usually buy it every year in october...I think it's perfect for the first cold: the spices make you feel hot and the dates remember you the summer. It' quite exotic, but in a elegant way...and it's cheap and long lasting! I love it!!!

Ale

This fragrance is definitely unisex. It posseses an intense medicinal note so i don't like it too much. However, i appreciate the effort of "L''Erbolario" to create a unique fragrance.

leecher88

yes this one is nice, in the beginning its a little bit like medicine or medicament but then it became better !

its for me hard to describe how it smells but the spices are well combined !!!

and when i wash my hands (on my wrist i sprayed it ) i washed little of my wrist with water and WHAT THE HELL
it became even better

really i will try it soon out with and without water !!!

but for sure try with little water after spraying it

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm gourmand pure !

maelleinrome

Rougetnoir, you're right! If you read my review about Profumum Battito d'ali, you'll see I wrote it's very similar to Meharees (I just tried Battito d'ali)! But now I absolutely want to try Musc ravangeur...how is complex, longlasting and amazing this Meharees! :)

luz

I have chosen this as my wedding scent. it was perffect for a noon cerimony in the Jersusalem montains.

rougetnoir

nobody recognize that this perfume is very very close to another Italian creation, Battito d'Ali by Profvmvm, THAT COSTS A FORTUNE!
maybe because l'erbolario is veny known in Italy but not in the rest of the world, and Profvmvm is a nice company, probably sold only in rome and in very few other perfumery (and online).
I love them both, but I only tried Mehares in a shop, so I can't not tell you if they are sooooo close.

melanie

Another L'Erbolario to recommend, maybe their best. Such a warm composition, yet so simple, slightly spicy, woody and even sweet on my skin. Leaves the impression that it's more complex. Very well done, amazing how affordable. Suitable for winter, I never thought of it as a men's fragrance.
edit/suits male's skin too,a must try!

takeitupthenose

Was looking at Musc Ravageur to post my Scent of the Day, saw this, read all the reviews, bought it blind and all I can say is they could charge twice as much and still this would be a steal! Very nice! The heart of Musc Ravageur and this fragrance are identical, this is a tad drier maybe a bit sweeter. It also resembles L'Air from Tauer

spumyland

...gnammmm..reminds me of the lip balm...sweet butter, warmmmmm, i LOVE it!! i have the candle version. He enlightened many nights in my house, now it's over but I can't throw it! ' will surely buy the eau de toilet.
for the price????: excellent!!

adriana.rizzati

I asked L'Erbolario about the detailed olfactory pyramid of Meharees, here it is:

Top notes: bergamot, orange, rose, cinnamon
Middle notes: cedarwood, guaiaco wood, patchouli, sandalwood
Base notes: vanilla, amber, musks

Fairly good sillage, incredibly long lasting.

adriana.rizzati

A little masterpiece, an outstanding fragrance, extreme and incandescent just like the place that has inspired it: the Sahara Desert.
Much more complex and multifaceted than many other perfumes by L'Erbolario.
I appreciate the fact that in Meharees there are all the types of taste: bitter, bitter-citrus, citrus-salty, savory-sweet and sweet.

For this reason, despite the presence of warm and sweet spices that make this fragrance round, creamy and ideal for cold weather, Meharees suits perfectly also in the hottest summer... indeed, under its golden-warm-desertic scent, you can smell a citrus-salty echo from the northern coast of Africa, as a pungent breath coming from Ionian and Tyrrhenian seas. These sparkling notes, anchored by sensual musks, give to Meharees an invigorating character that makes you literally reborn...

In Meharees I found a deep, sensual fragrance: it's warm, sweet and savory, cosy and welcoming, smoky and assertive, balmy and regenerating; it makes me feel self confident and charming, and above all it makes me feel happy!

merilu59

meraviglioso!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! la crema per il corpo è fantastica profuma per ore e ore

rritual

it resembles musc ravageur. if you hate the clove note in MR, then this is for you. it has the drydown the vanilla and the musc. it cheap too but hard to find. i got two bottles, and i find myself not using my MR because if have this to be honest.

hnyc

Definitely a woman's scent! It's sweet and warm. I can't detect any specific spice in this but it just smells nice. It is very light and does not last long, that's my only complaint!

Update: I have to change my statement above, this does last a long time and nothing lasts long on me. I put it on yesterday and i could still smell it when I woke up this morning. it was such a nice way to wake up!!

Babina 70

I don't think it is a fragrance for men.. I prefer it for women.. it's sweet, oriental I like it a lot, especially for automn/winter.

Pa.princess

Just got this yesterday, and I have to say I like it VERY much. It's a tad dry, a little spicy and sort of sweet. Kind of like L'Air du Desert Marocain (my fav)with a spoonful of sugar:) A lovely, cozy scent with good staying power. Excellent price, also.

luz

It makes me think of an oasis in the desert, oriental and refreshing. Great fragrance !
