Lust by LUSH
(Store test, Skin test)

Lust by LUSH is narcotic jasmine scent, I don't know how but I can't believe that something like this.
Is part of LUSH's offering, it is strong white jasmine soilfore floral bomb one.

I don't find similarity in other Jasmine scent as this is strong sweet floral scent imho.
And it is not Ambery, it is however, once the floral passed it best time, it dry down a bit flat.

I might need a few further assessment but as of now.
Compare to price offering, I think I can give this a great 8/10

This is an... interesting smell. It smells like hot breath. Not necessarily hot *bad* breath, but it smells like breath.. I've heard so much about this perfume and how it smells like dirty sex and all that so I was for sure expecting some sort of bodily fluid smell but yeah... this isn't as sexy and kinky as I was hoping it'd be.

tkonrad33

Super strong and nearly headache inducing, which is to be expected with Lush. I personally wouldn’t wear this but I can imagine an older woman would love it.

marialena888m

OMG this is such a ‘mob wife’ scent, but a mob wife from the 50s or 60s, I just realized, it fits that aesthetic to a T…it makes me want to wear black, deck out in vintage gold jewelry, perfectly set voluminous curls in my hair, smoky eye make-up and wine red lipstick lol…unapologetic indolic jasmine, creamy deep ylang, and a boozy vanilla (my bottle has aged and that vanilla has become deeper and abit more prominent). It’s heady, intoxicating stuff…NOT a safe scent at all, most people around me hate it, a friend thought it smelled like mosquito repellent lol. The liquid stains red, so careful where you spray it…a good reason to wear black with this fragrance. It’s magical on a balmy summer night outdoors, perfect weather, soft breeze blowing, you’ll smell like real jasmine blossoms…but definitely do not wear it in enclosed spaces, people will low key hate you.

I come here again and again. like I go into my cupboard to my bottle again and again
I have 2 full 100ml bottles (backups) and I'm halfway through the 100ml I do use.
this is forever my uplifter my soul mate my happy place in a bottle.
someone rightly said below - this starts off like a punch in the face, 6-8 sprays of this and you wait 10 minutes, that strong sharp opening settles into the most beautiful, wet, sweet, indolic very Indian jasmine on a monsoon evening.
this is perfection
lush, do your damn thing. you're on top of the perfume game.
I have owned / tried 100's of perfumes at this point and easily own over a 100, everything from cheapies to extremely niche things with a bunch of designers thrown into the mix (although I prefer the other ends of the spectrum lol I love my cheapies and niche more than designers) and this one, this perfume is the queen of them all.
if I had to use only one perfume for the rest of my life, I would choose this, and I would dearly miss hypnotic poison and lune feline and khamrah, but I would choose only this.
the GOAT.

tangledsteph

(This is for the solid perfume I haven't tried the liquid EDP yet.)

I love the scent of jasmine so this is a no brainer (no noser?) for me. Strong and sweet jasmine scent. Truly reflects it's name - a great one to wear on a date.

monisacred

Legendary!

The high quality extracts make it intoxicating, compared to all the synthetic designer perfumes.

Lush is the boss.

indole-gent

This perfume taught me what I really want in a scent is one that will slap me, pull my hair, and make me embarrassed to explain it to my mom. This is a solid, heavy, one note funky jasmine that stays and stays. It smells even better after you've been wearing it for awhile and maybe you sweat a little, going from dirty jasmine to slick.

There's something incredibly blunt and upfront about this perfume that was so correct and appealing for me when I first got it ten or so years ago. Yes, it's not the most complex or sophisticated jasmine. But it knows exactly what it is, and you have to love it for that.

I would definitely recommend only getting the solid perfume over the liquid, I personally found for some reason that my body chemistry did not like the liquid. I miss back when the solid perfumes came in smaller tins rather than small glass jars, but the current solid to my nose is identical or nearly identical to the formulation from 10 years ago.

sntiago

I have never actually gagged at a perfume the way I gagged at this. I have animalic perfumes that open with a slight body odor scent (Narcotic Venus) and I've never had to actually throw away a tester immediately after smelling it before the way I did with this. I dread smelling this for a second time. To be frank, It was a paper tester and not on skin and I am ylang-ylang's number one hater on this earth in general. If no one hates ylang-ylang, I'm dead. Every perfume I hate has this, every perfume I like but there's just something wrong and unsettling about this, also has this. It's like I am cursed and this was the final end.
I don't mind an indolic jasmine (I love indolic tuberose) and like scents that aren't overpowered by jasmine, as well as general white florals and woods but this was pungent and repulsive and body odor like.

hublots

this smells identical to the huda beauty easy bake loose powder?!?

giuliatrapletti

my signature perfume. i am a sucker for jasmine - and oh boy, this a strong jasmine. i will never get tired of it.

melonpeachteas

I wanted to love it and I really thought I would as I am a big fan of jasmine and sandalwood. I adored it at first sniff but upon actually wearing it it felt sickening and I just could not continue wearing it sadly

km1266

This is very sweet, bright and syrupy, I agree that it has a bubblegum smell to it. I wasn't expecting that. I'm not big into white florals because they have a harsh, screechy, pissy smell that reminds me of old women - Lust is one of the few exceptions. The first spray does hit you in the face with the jasmine and rose but after 30+ minutes the vanilla and sandalwood balances everything out.

The drydown won me over. It's one of the few perfumes that make me feel sexy and confident, it's got an edginess to it despite how sweet and floral it is. I can't put into words how beautiful it is. The sweet, sharp jasmine is still there along with the rose but there's a sweet, warmth that smells almost like honey. There's something addicting about it, I can't stop sniffing my wrist. I'm pretty sure this perfume has pheromones in it. It reminds me of Alien before it was ruined from being reformulated. It's very strong for the first hour and then it calms down, longevity is good.

I have to keep editing my review because this scent morphs and shifts. There's still that bubblegum sweetness but there is a dirtiness to it that I haven't noticed before. Now I'm noticing where people are getting the "mothball" smell from. I made the mistake of overspraying it and there was a weird bathroom smell. Two sprays is enough. I spray it at least 30 minutes before I go to work. It does have a strong opening but it fades into a skin scent and lasts for 6+ hours. Lust is a beautiful perfume, but definitely not for everyone and definitely not a safe blind buy. It's very 50/50 perfume - people either love it or hate it. I do find it sexy and carnal like people said, but I don't think it's trashy. I think it's sort of elegant. I'm considering on buying the solid perfume.

anaesthesiaangel

the thing is with this, is that you have to be a particular fan of jasmine to enjoy it. i like it, but the majority, aka those who are not, think it smells like bad breath or animal shit. it’s not a crowd pleaser.. to say the least, its really niche and unpleasant to most noses. my so thinks it smells like cow dung. get ready for people to move out your way in the street.
on the positive side, it’s incredibly raw, sexy and animalic. to me. pair this with a cheap body mist and you’ll smell like a prostitute that’s been on shift for 8hrs, sweaty, cheap, sweet, with an underlying raw dirty odour. in a good way.

also ⚠️ the liquid is potent and dark red & stains everything

milkspace35

Oddly enough, my sister, who isn't a fragrance enthusiast at all, struck me when she compared this to the tea that my mom makes every now and then. It must've been a jasmine tea?!

Agreeing with the longevity and projectivity/sillage votes - this one has a notable longevity to it. My guess is that it's a pretty concentrated perfume. I can see why this one is popular!

Silverbell

Slutty bubblegum-y jasmine. Got the solid one since it's a bit weaker than the liquid. Will be saving this one for.. special occasions.

adam2419

As a jasmine addict since adolescence, I am always hunting for *that* jasmine scent that will give me the dopamine surge that I experienced since I first breathed its magic spell.

This was the first fragrance that I ever tried from Lush. I was intrigued by the glowing reviews of their unique creations. But reading Lust’s reviews, I honestly wasn’t sure if it would be right for me. “Dirty?” “Kinky?” ...yikes! Not two adjectives I would associate with me, a bookish, pensive male. As a compromise, I ordered Lust in the solid perfume formulation and waited with bated breath.

At first inhale, Lust became a favorite of mine. I instantly ordered a full bottle. There’s simply nothing like it on the market. Yes, it is exuberantly sexy, but in a romantically poetic, unique, and modern way.

I take care to spray only once or twice; Lust carries far but this is not a fragrance that I want to wear loudly. People love this when I wear it. They smile and say "mmmm" as they ask me what I've got on.

I had never really encountered a “warm” jasmine scent before; Lust accomplishes this but very sensually. There’s no indole or sharpness in this jasmine, which reaches out to you at first spray, but it’s beautifully tempered by the delectable vanilla and anchored in warmth by the soft caresses of sandalwood.

I have to gush about the ylang-ylang’s heavy lifting here; ylang-ylang at its best is incredibly narcotic and magnetically pulls your nose into a fragrance, which is exactly what it does in Lust. The ylang-ylang, to me, acts as sort of a “chain-link” between the jasmine-vanilla and the sandalwood, smoothly binding these notes to each other and letting them dance. This incredible combination lands on a soft, warm, ever-so-slightly powdery base of rose-hugged sandalwood.

If Lust had a story, it would be a kind and beautiful Lady Marmalade in the bedroom of her second-floor walkup in the French Quarter of New Orleans in the early 60’s. It’s a cool spring night and she’s free for the evening, wearing body powder and a long black silk kimono, a fresh set of black satin sheets on her bed. Her black lace hosiery might be draped over the door of her armoire. She’s at her window in a moment of reflection, and she can smell the jasmine flowers’ fragrance on the humid night air.

I want to wear Lust all the time, but she really shines on cool nights in spring or summer, especially if you live in a humid climate as I do; the humidity just gives Lust that extra dimension and helps it bloom.

I really hope Lush makes Lust until the end of time. She’s hauntingly gorgeous and I never want to be without her.

revolverocelot

beautiful pure jasmine, slightly carnal, in-your-face femme. my most complimented perfume possibly ever. currently saving for full bottle, almost ran thru my travel size... perfect scent for me, a hard-femme lesbian.

benniboo

I sprayed this on my wrist in the shop and genuinely couldn't stop smelling my wrist for the rest of the day. Ordered it online as soon as I got home. A lot of people say this is a sexy perfume, and while I do agree it is very intoxicating, I think it leans more elegant than straight up slutty. Wore this to go to a fancy event and felt like a queen. I grew up in a country where jasmine flowers are pretty much everywhere so this is quite a nostalgic scent for me. It's definitely a very grown-up perfume, that's for sure. Definitely not something you would wear if you wanted to smell youthful. Be aware that it's super duper strong, so be cautious with how much you spray. It also lasts forever - I could still smell it in my bedroom in the evening after spraying it in the morning. It also gets on my scarf and gloves and makes them smell very faintly of beautiful jasmine for a while.

hon3ybee

such a potent sweet jasmine scent that follows you everywhere throughout the day — so be extremely careful how much and where you spray it. i had the bottle in a locker where, after freshly spraying myself and putting it back in, the smell permeated the whole locker — so the tiniest drop is extremely potent when spilled.

it’s an incredibly sexy sweet smell, I truly love it as it reminds me of Bali and tropical white flowers, but over-spraying it leaves a kind of tooth rotting after smell. as in. a literal smell that comes out of a rotting tooth. or a fart. and spraying it on your clothes will stay there until you wash them.

actually sprayed one spritz on my shirt under my pullover and the scent transferred to my work clothes after changing — I have no idea how but it followed me throughout the day in a setting where such an overpoweringly sweet and - dare I say - lusty scent is a bit inappropriate. at least my shirt will smells soooo nice until the next wash. pullover smells funky tho, don’t recommend spraying it on 60%+ synthetic materials.

also very cloying in the summer, almost suffocating even, or whenever the temperature rises — hot skin will activate it. ideal for colder weather, sprayed on clothes and sprayed lightly 🤣 this is a lifetime investment then.

gourmandgyaani

my all time favourite
signature (one of my signatures over the years)
the perfume my partner loves on me
the one I wore to our first date
the one I've worn so much the entire we lived together as girlfriend boyfriend
the perfume I ultimately chose to wear on my wedding day earlier this month <3
lust, you are always going to be so special.

Jamsine

Well all I can say is there are some very delicate and sensitive flowers posting reviews on here! If you love white florals please don’t judge this beautiful perfume on the very first spray. It has strong ingredients so wait a minute and let it work its magic. I find so many other perfumes smell great on first sniff and then fade to nothing. In contrast, this blooms over time and is a compliment-magnet. And I don’t find it slutty or dirty (whatever the hell that’s supposed to mean), it’s just flowers, natural, fragrant flowers.

sofiya_r

Very unapologetic, straight-forward, disgustingly suffocating, punch-in-the-gut kind of jasmine. Thought I'd hate it based on my general dislike for floral scents, but something about its obnoxiousness and bafflingly aggressive femininity drew me in. Real love-hate relationship, as in I never want to smell it ever again but still might purchase another bottle.

nicola7

I love this scent so much but I’m allergic to something in it. I’ve used similar scents before so I’m not sure what it is. If anyone knows any good dupes please let me know :)

parvatishallow

Really hated this one unfortunately.

Surprised it's such a popular sell because of how challenging it was for me. It smelled super raw, gasoline-like, syrupy, and ripe. I think it smells like what I imagine 'libido' smells like. But it doesn't smell good to me and I wouldn't wear it. Very different though.

Shalimar24

Love Lust!!!!! This was my first big perfume discovery freshman year of college. I was broke so I bought little rub-in tins because that was all I could afford for a long time. The jasmine and ylang ylang are heavy and impassioned, but I never felt like this scent was too much. It's the one that my husband smells now and it brings him back to my dorm room, i.e. we're both whisked away to being young again. I would personally recommend the spray bottle to have a highly activated liquid scent. You also don't need a lot, from my memory, for the scent to trail and make an impact. It always seems like the formulations of Lush perfumes stick more or transfer to other objects easily, which I really like and think adds value.

hataruna

I’m going to delete my review from September. Here are my revised thoughts: Lust has gorgeous, realistic jasmine qualities, but as a perfume, misses the mark for me.

I’m going to part ways with Lust. I get a “burp” smell unless I spray it directly onto clothing (100% cotton is best). Here’s the kicker- it stains! So no to white, which is a bummer, because I think I would most want wear it on some girlie, white cotton top in spring.

So the burp smell can be avoided by going directly onto clothing. But then… I think it’s just a tad too strong. I sprayed it on my overalls the other day, and when I got up from the couch late in the evening to make my way to bed, I got a strong whiff of it (10 hours after spraying) and decided right then and there that it’s just too sweet, too potent.

I am sad because as I was slipping it back into its box to give away, that gorgeous, realistic creamy jasmine smell permeated from the bottle, and almost tempted me to keep it. But no. I’m sorry Lust. I just can’t do ya.

bouchardo

A good stifling raw jasmine

fiber1062

Was super curious about this one, but I don't get the dirty/rotting/animalic at all. On me this is a very calm, comforting, even academic scent. Reminds me of coming home from a cold day outside, sitting down to read a book and holding a steaming porcelain teacup of jasmine tea.

Lasts forever, even after a shower, and flavors my other perfumes with its comforting tea aroma.

621moni

I ended up returning because I just really don’t mess with Jasmine these days. I often wonder what this perfume would be like if it were a dirty iris instead. The dry down is super sexy and beautiful but I have to endure 3-4 hours of a Jasmine headache before I get there. If anyone knows of something similar with iris message me lol.

heartleap

At first I thought everyone was overreacting about this, or that maybe they had boiled down the scent for my country like they had the name. I found it quite pungent and the strong jasmine simply reminded me of gajra, which is a wreath of jasmine that Indian women wear in their hair - very nostalgic. I then left the blotter in my room for a bit, only to come back to a scent that literally reeks of sex. It is raw and rotting and so intimate, like you've been dancing all night and haven't showered. When I woke up in the morning it only got worse.

If I were to associate a book with this perfume, it would be the Virgin Suicides 100%.

BikiniSoTeeny

Gasoline, plasticky, waxy jasmin. I would say slutty if it was more projecting, but on me is pretty intimate so it is just sexy and womanly. Dry down is sooo soft and sensual, even that sugestivness is lost.

Heliotrope72

Rating: 😐🙂
Do I like it: Meh
Who it is: me at 11yo when i spilled a 5ml bottle of jasmine essential oil over my notebook and accidentally gassed the entire classroom proving that too much of a good thing can be a bad thing
Smells I get: waxy, musty, decently indolic jasmine, hint of sandalwood, barely-there vanilla
Meyer's Briggs type: INFP, ISFP

It's giving a cheap department store jasmine oil vibe. It also really reminds me of a local catholic church on a spring wedding day with high humidity and white florals mixing insufferably with the sweet, dusty, stale church wax.

It has a rather musty, waxxy opening, horny indoles at heart, and barely-there vanilla and sandalwood. ⛪💮

Horny indoles, churchy, cold, rather unbalanced.

burnmemory

This is probably one of my top 3 perfumes ever. It's intoxicating but I never considered it being slutty because I always associated it being one of my moms favorites/daily scents LMAO but in the most endearing way, this scent reminds me of her and my childhood and how me and my sister would circulate it around the car after mom used it and we'd take turns applying it.

It has a very dear place in my heart, and I see myself owning and wearing this into my old ages. It's like addicting pheromones, but also some of the sweetest moments I've had in my youth.

OudLaLa

This perfume is honestly kinda slutty. Or at the very least, very forward. Lust knows what it wants and how to get it. I wore this on a date once and it kinda spoke for itself and had my date asking "WHAT are you WEARING?" It's sultry animalic and deep. Absolutely not for casual day wearers, and its best sprayed directly on skin/body vs clothes because the red pigment stains a bit. I like it but its been a while since I've had the courage to put this on.

furyrose666

I went into to Lush looking to smell V and had ruled this one out because I have never really liked jasmine. The sales associate mentioned this was their signature scent and I smelled it to be nice...to be honest...I didn't like it at first but then something about it...I just couldn't stop smelling it. It smelled sexy, but also like an attic...? Like a sexy vintage dress. They sent me home with a couple solid perfume samples, including this one just for fun. I have not stopped wearing this since that day. I immediately went back 48 hours later and bought a bottle. If you have ruled out jasmine because of the white floral headiness, let me say, you might consider a "dirty jasmine" like this one. I can't usually handle any kind of warmth in my scents, no patchouli, vanilla/tonka, etc which is a bummer because I find those kind of scents very sexy. They just don't work with my skin chemisty. This one gets that sex appeal but never appears super warm on my skin. It has a very light vanilla to me, its more complementary than truly present. The ylang ylang, jasmine and rose are the stars on my skin. Sexiest scent I own.

amethystfeline

a classic in my rotation. can't believe i was wearing this in high school tbh, it's pretty much reserved for date nights and clubbing now. the skankiest strongest jasmine bomb on the market, egregiously sexy and indolic. powerhouse fragrance.

A03

Opening is vvvv jasmine heavy and quite smoky/bitter on my skin, really reminds me of vatika hair oil. But it settles into this honeyed jasmine with a hintttt of vanilla in the background.

bonitabuzzkill

I went to Lush on a whim and while testing fragrances, found this perfume. i was looking for something floral with sandalwood undertones. sprayed it directly on my skin and it smelled like straight saliva and a sprig of jasmine right away. after a few minutes, it settled perfectly. jasmine slap in the face insatiably horny third date is the best way i can describe this perfume. i was scared to purchase - “am i ready for this?” i thought before walking out of the store. it’s still stuck to my skin 16 hours later and i couldn’t stop thinking about it, so much that i ordered the solid online and will be purchasing the bottle tomorrow after work. it is animalistic and is going to take me places i wouldn’t go with a gun. life changing for the right body chemistry.

swordoftorrent

Maybe I’m not advanced enough for this one, but on my skin it truly, truly smelled like rot. I don’t mean a sexy, alluring, dark temptress rot. I mean a full on, decomposing body, with a ton of jasmine thrown on top to mask the scent, sprinkled with a bit of motor oil. I was greatly disappointed by how horrible this was on me, after reading so many rave reviews on it. I absolutely adore jasmine, but this just was not it.

toff.tiozon

Updated review:

The main reason this scent is divisive is its opening: Loud, highly indolic (to the point of smelling like mothballs / bug spray), with massive throw to boot. Lust bursts through the gates, clobbering everyone in the way with a jasmine club.

But it does calm down real quick. Once it marinates on the skin, the edges smoothen and you're left with a sweet, sensual, overripe white floral that prefers to slink rather than stomp.

The jasmine is the star of the show; it is fleshy, humid and very carnal. My nose does pick up on the vanilla, which adds a sugary touch to the whole affair. There's also sandalwood, rose and ylang-ylang in there, but they blend with the jasmine so well it's hard for me to tell them apart - but the overall effect gives Lust a subtle "caramelized" candy sweetness which becomes more apparent as it evolves.

As a member of the less-fair sex, one would imagine I would have a hard time pulling this off as it is almost entirely floral with nothing to butch it up. But dudes like me who aren't afraid to explore outside traditionally "masculine" fragrances might find a gem in Lust. The jasmine here has an almost salty, animalic quality that registers genderless - that's to say not masculine, not feminine, just sexy. Very sexy.

I've gotten quite a bit of compliments with this one. You probably will, too. Just go easy on the trigger because this is a beast of a perfume.

honeyedclover

One of my all-time favorites for years now. Probably the most "in heat" scents I ever smelt. Sadly, the vanilla in this is very much a distant background character, but that's alright because the blend of jasmine, ylang-ylang, and sandalwood is more than enough to please my nose. The jasmine is the star of the show and, like many of Lush's white florals, it is indolic and ripe; which is why so many of their white floral scents are divisive. Personally, I love the carnal element the indole brings, it's an undeniable head turner! The longevity lasts me an entire work or school day, when I come home after a day of wear, my boyfriend is practically glued to me, sniffing me nonstop till I shower. It's an unabashed, sexy scent that maintains a shred of composure that's slipping slowly out of its grasp. You may have to be a flirtatious and sensual person to feel comfortable wearing this on the daily—which, thankfully, I am.

Imagery: an old world enchantress, one breast out, draped in red, sheer garments, wild, wavy, dark hair. she's adorned herself in her prized essential oil blend of jasmine, sandalwood, and ylang-ylang (which is exactly Lust) that guarantees her to bed any person who steps into her parlor. her eyes are half-lidded, pupils dilated, and cheeks rosy. she's ovulating, she's so horny she can't sleep at night. she wants it bad, she wants it her way, and she isn't ashamed.

Ahem, anyways... I notice people tend to complain under many of Lush's fragrances that their formulas are too potent. SIGH. I seriously don't know if these people have ever stepped foot into a Lush shop—but you can literally smell the store before you even see where it is in a mall; that should tell you everything you need to know about how powerful Lush's formulations tend to be with their products. If you don't want that, they do make a solid version of Lust which I do find to be a bit milder and slightly sweeter than the perfume, I have both.

If you're scared of coming across as a sexually confident, witchy lady who reads tarot and practices sex magick—then Lust is not for you! P.S. if you have an essential oil diffuser, you can clone Lust with 3 drops of jasmine, 2 drops of ylang-ylang and sandalwood so your house can then be permeated with this aphrodisiac scent ;)

annema

Jasmine on steroids. This is a dirty jasmine, not the "girly" white floral type. If you ever felt like rubbing yourself in pure jasmine essential oil and/or jasmine tea this is your scent. It could be called carnal jasmine but Lust is also an appropriate name. To me it smells like a bouquet of wet tropical white flowers. The loud type. This is obviously not for everyone and despite the fact that I love this perfume I'm not ready to wear this one in my 98% male office. I think that would shock some dudes over there.

Tintalle

When I am in the right mood, I really adore Lust. I first bought it years ago (which makes me miss Imogen Rose, which I also had in the old tube format). I have only ever had the perfume solid, so my review is based on that.

At any rate, Lust is super potent and jasmine is at the forefront. There are other notes that I think really support the jasmine, but jasmine is definitely the main player. I really can't wear this fragrance all the time. It just doesn't suit my usual temperament. I still absolutely love it, though. I will always have a little solid of it, so long as it is available. It really hits the spot on the right day.

For jasmine lovers - this is a must-have. Lust is dirty, sultry jasmine with just a subtle hint of vanilla. It's well rounded and the longevity and silage are beast mode - but the perfume is dark red and stains clothes :( I live in Northern Europe, where we have a cold and dry climate in winter and I don't think Lust works well when the weather is like that. Obviously, I can't wear this beast mode perfume in the office, so the only option to wear this is summertime evening activities, but since the juice stains both clothes and bare skin (one guy once asked if I was sunburned because the perfume colored my wrists red) I tend to gravitate towards other jasmine scents because I don't want to stain my light colored summer clothes - or look like sunburned. Such a shame though, because the longevity and price point are great, but the staining issue makes this a "like" for me, not a "love". I have 100ml bottle, but I don't think I'll buy another bottle when I run out of this one.

If you wear and love this fragrance, you better not say crap about other people's perfume preferences. 😱

SammyIX

The longer you wear it, the better it smells - sensual, irresistible, and delicious.
It opens with ylang-ylang and sandalwood but quickly leaves the floor for potent, realistic jasmine, the kind you can only smell on a Mediterranean holiday when passing the jasmine bushes in the evening.
It is a perfect summer scent, and also an ideal choice for a hot date.

Ciarraathena

To quote the illustrious Gaga, “I want to smell like a sl*t to be quite honest”. And by god if you wear this perfume you will, in the best way. On my skin it wears like an incredibly concentrated jasmine tea, like if you brewed it with half the water and 10 times the tea. It’s so strong and such a beautiful smell, this is probably one of my all time favorite fragrance purchases.

keiramack

Such a yummy sexy scent. Extremely realistic Jasmine scent, as if someone is holding the actual flower under your nose. It is spicy and warm but not too woody, a bit of sweetness to it. A very unique perfume at an affordable price point!! Just keep it away from white shirts

al-lewinsky

Devastatingly horny; total carnality liquified & bottled. I could never wear it personally, but a must to experience at the very least.

Astrum.Obtutus

This is dark, mysterious, sexy, seductive, teasing. I have backup and not guilty of it.

akyn

very strong, i feel like i cant wear it because the heavy jasmine scent will choke everyone in the room. use sparingly!
sensual but also very grandma-ish somehow? it is sexy, but i wouldnt consider it a panty-dropped unless i was a 60s housewife. idk why people are creaming their pants over this…
it can be nauseating and opressive. the jasmine is reallyyy heavy in this one.
i have the solid version, its great deal for the money! but maybe the bottled version smells a bit different…?
sexiest part of this solid perfume is the red color that makes me look like i have hickeys on my neck and wrists. actually scratch that, it looks like a rash. why on earth is it so pigmented?

witchnextdoor

Love at first smell. This Jasmine is insane— instant headrush upon first spray, becoming more light and airy about midday, and finishing its 8+ hour lifespan with the signature Lush candied floral base. I’m obsessed with this perfume and I LOVE how powerful it is. Do not overspray this, or you will get a sinus headache.
This may be due to my chemistry, but I do not get the same levels of dirty/sweaty/animalic notes that others do. I get radioactive, almost overripe Jasmine for hours. To me it’s electric and aquatic. I love the review that describes it as putting a photo filter on Jasmine and seeing all the hidden colors. Jasmine is such a vibrant flower that it deserves a one-note scent. She’s the star.
I love perfumes that capture the freshness of live florals. I don’t want to go hunting through sugars and powders for the flower— hack it off the plant and give it to me. That’s what Lust does.

gourmandgyaani

I come back here to express my love for this thing once more. I feel I am always collecting bottles of this. I now have 3 large ones and one small one. Insane one might say, but I never want to run out of it.
This was a love at first sniff and it develops so beautifully on me. I can never be in a bad mood when I wear this.
it is beautiful. lusty. it is indolic and animalic at the same time just ethereal, pure, pious and heavenly.
this is perfection in a bottle. it is both saint and sinner.
I love this perfume and want to bathe in this stuff.
if I had to keep only one perfume of all the many I have, it would be this.
masterpiece.
smells so simple too, just like photorealistic white wet jasmine flowers in a large metal bowl full of water, very Indian, but this is a difficult jasmine to get right. I have very many jasmine perfumes as its my favourite note and to be able to make this candied, evolved, sensual thing is a work of art. it smells so effortlessly simple, which makes it even more of a work of art. made a hard thing look easy
love love love
nuclear performance in tempered climates, do a heavier hand if you're out in the heat it can die off in the humidity.
I usually get insane performance with this one. 6-8 sprays and I'm sorted for like 12 hours

Fresca

Sultry jasmine Jessica Rabbit bomb. Luscious, heavy, hypnotic. Indolic dirty jasmine and almost nothing else. I find it incredibly feminine and beautiful. NSFW. Gorgeous.

I have two bottles. The older one, made in 2015, lists Jasmin Absolute as the first ingredient. (Followed by Ylang Ylang Oil, Rose Absolute, Vanilla Absolute, and Sandalwood Oil.) The front of the bottle has a drawing of a woman, it feels a little subversive, and I love it.

The second bottle is from 2020, and in this formulation Rose Absolute is listed before the Jasmin. The label is also different; it's now just plain white with the word "Lust." I have no idea why any of these changes were made. In any case, both formulations smell fantastic and it would take a better nose than mine to tell them apart.

It's one of my favorites, but I don't want to recommend it because I don't want anyone else to wear it! If you do decide to try it, be very careful. A little goes a long way, and it stains light clothing.

shoosie

I though I would like this because jasmine and white florals are some of my favorite notes, but the moment I smelled it I remembered my elementary school field trip to the zoo. I can't smell any Jasmine, too me it just smells like a really dusty and dirty sheep. I know this perfume is supposed to be animalic or whatever, but to me it just smells sweaty and I don't really understand how people can tolerate the strength of this scent.

This Diwali, I decided to wear jasmines on my hair. There must have been a thousand jasmine buds threaded into a long garland that I draped around my bun. I wore a brand new silk saree in a shade of pink that literally translates to Queen in my language - Rani pink - and I felt like a goddess. Each time someone hugged me to wish me a happy Diwali I could hear them sniff deeply. “You smell so good!” was the first thing anyone would say. A friend of mine begged for a second hug just so she could smell the flowers. As I walked about, I left a trail of jasmine buds in my wake and I was very much reminded of that scene in Persepolis where the grandmother reveals that she stuffs jasmine blooms in her bosom!

I’d been chasing that realistic smell of jasmine for ages now. And it’s not like I hadn’t smelled Lust before. I had, but only on paper. Even then, I had dismissed it after the first few minutes. And that’s where I went wrong. If Lust glitters on paper, it truly blooms on skin. While the initial blast can be a bit off-putting because hello nuclear otherworldly jasmine - the longer it sits, the more and more realistic it becomes. There is no other way to describe this, really. This is jasmine plucked from a bush and pressed to your nose.

As anyone who’s worn jasmine on their hair would know, jasmine has its own evolution. At its freshest it smells dewy and green, but as the day progresses, the smell ripens, for the lack of a better word, until evening when right on the verge of wilting it is at its most potent and smells almost bitter. Lust to me is the opposite. When it opens I can smell wilting jasmine, and by the time it dries down it turns sweeter and fresher.

I have CK Beauty and I have Alien but neither of these two come close to the real deal that Lust is. Three sprays and I am in jasmine heaven. I am following my Ma around the house as she wears a single bloom tucked to her bun. I am back celebrating Diwali, draped in my brilliant pink silk. I am a little girl making mud cakes in the garden back in my childhood home, while the jasmine bush gives me company.

prancingponytail

I had loved and bought the solid version, and then I wanted to check the reviews here and -BAM, I can't smell anything but bad breath after reading miewtje's review.

Now I'll have to let it marinade for 10 years.

cherrypie099

my favourite solid perfume - the feeling of dipping a ring finger into the wax, rubbing it into your skin to blanket you in honeyed jasmine is so comforting and sensual. for me, this is a colder-weather fragrance mood. something to reveal itself when unwrapping a big scarf when coming home. a fragrance that works well whether i'm freshly showered or a bit dirty. i honestly can't live without her.

CassidySmells

A simple floral, buried underneath the surface of a raunchy grass note, kind of a 'diamond in the rough' moment. Though it's not very complex, I find myself coming back to it when I want to feel like a skank.

GracieGardener

It feels like every year, I have a love affair with jasmine for 2 or 3 months, in late summer & fall. This year it’s Lush Lust! This frag is unapologetically a gorgeous ‘dirty’ jasmine. I love the vanilla and sandalwood in this perfume. The rose is subtle and jammy. The jasmine is pretty fresh even though I would describe this perfume as both candied & carnal. Lust is going to be a very fun fall fling.

miewtje

I love lust but it wasn't an immediate love. I used to hate this when i first discovered it around 10 years ago. Thought it smelled like bad breath (indoles can do that).

But having stumbled upon this again, having a wider understanding of fragrance in general and gained the ability to apreciate the intention behind a fragrance, i found myself loving it.

Aaron Terence Hughes did a review on this on YouTube explaining exactly why he hates it which happens to describe why i used to hate it. However everything he mentions he would do to 'improve' this fragrance is everything it's not meant to be. I now love it because it's an unrefined, loud, heady, gassoline-like jasmine. It's never meant to be subtle or well rounded, layered and balanced. This jasmine is meant to scream and spit in your face. It's meant to stink up the place with it's sweat and laugh at common decensey. It's sexy because it does whatever it wants. It doesn't need to know how to make friends and fit it because it doesn't care.

Being a jasmine lover and finding myself bored of most modern day releases that is exactly what i crave for every now and then.

Sticks rather close to the skin after the dry down but i just respray to reignite the passion. :)

EliasHisArmsWide

To my nose this is cloying and oppressive. I can't stand it, but I hesitate to ever call a fragrance bad just because it isn't my taste. This is a really heavy, heady, syrupy-sweet jasmine. I think it projects quite a bit, and is pretty long-lasting, getting increasingly candy-coated over time. If those kinds of things appeal to you, then this might be a good bet.

hugecreature

sweet and simple. has a chapstick quality very sensual and girly

beewing

I can't say I understand the hate for this fragrance. I have the solid version, which I think is great value and makes it a great scent for layering. You can control the intensity a little bit that way, and I like the option of layering it when I want to add something a little extra. (My only complaint is this scent can feel a little one-note.) I've also never had an issue with men disliking this perfume, I probably get more compliments on it than any other that I wear! Not suitable for a blind-buy, but if you like white floral I highly recommend picking up a sample.

cheekyfaerie

Honestly not sure how anyone likes this. It smells like straight up moth balls.

massimilianoinquieto

RottigrlNYC

I have an older bottle from 2015 and it’s a monster jasmine perfume. Nothing but Jasmine! It’s a loud overbearing JASMINE. I don’t know who would like this or even wear this horror. Selling my bottle if anyone actually likes this very loud dirty jasmine. I can’t even scrub it off it’s that strong. Oh my goodness what possessed me to spray even a drop on me. Ughhh now I can’t get it off.

JackieM

If it means anything when reading the reviews or writing one, there seems to be an unofficial consensus that the bottles made before the pandemic (all conveniently have the made on date on the bottom) are markedly stronger, longer lasting, and with greater projection than those made 21 and later (don't ask a sales associate though, they will always deny deny deny). I'm pretty sure everything else about the scent remains the same however, at least by my unofficial testing.

Whether this change is a good thing or a bad thing, depends on your inclination.

Sniffshnuff

IMO Lust by Lush is a sweeter version of Jasmine Sambac and Marigold by Jo Malone-- Lust is less focused on the jasmine, more on vanilla. Where Jo Malone's smells more realistically floral (tea-like) and calm, Lust is more vanillic and sugary. Like Malone's baby sister

onlygirlalive

This thing is a monster. A horny, dirty, disgusting monster that rubbed some fresh jasmine in between her legs before… before what? I don’t know. I don’t want to know. I could never step outside the house in this perfume. It’s rotten- and I don’t mean it as an insult, a synonym for ‘bad’, no- it smells of overripe fruit, rotting in the middle, something wriggling coming out of it. I could even go as far as to say there’s a sweet, human rot to it. Basically, there’s something that used to be alive in some way, it died, it was perfumed with (rotting) jasmine and then.. again.. I don’t know then what. Who would wear this? Who would find this inoffensive? My friend said he thinks it smells of air freshener, and I think I agree, but then why do I find it so rotten at the same time? The disgusting sweetness reminds me of those sweaty middle school years. Sweaty girls in the changing room after P.E class, overly sweet cheap perfume in the air doing its best to cover up the smell, deodorant that smells like.. overripe banana after a while. Hormones and shame barely disguised by sweet perfume, that’s it. This is really unwearable, and I’m stuck with a bottle to torture myself with every once in a while before washing it off. I don’t know how they pulled all this sweetness out of the jasmine.. was it the vanilla? I’ve never smelled jasmine like this before. I hope I never do again. I keep wondering who would wear this, and I still don’t know!! Why would you want to smell horny, sweaty, and ashamed of the fact?

ronin.jose

I don't think I've been this passionate about a goddamn perfume before. I wrote a few reviews on this for a couple of years, interpreting different results each time, and I just find it hard to do justice on this because this fragrance is not just a grower but also a chameleon.

Imagine a clear and flawless image of a jasmine flower but crank up the saturation on a photo editing app/software. As you increase the saturation, it's starting to reveal some hues that you don't normally see when you look at a jasmine flower. You start seeing colors that are quite jarring to look at, but they do in fact organically exist in the color palette of the image. That is what kind of soliflore this fragrance is.

The jasmine in this is so naturally high-pitched and concentrated that it produces this naturally occuring fruity aspect in it that reminds me of something vaguely in between strawberries and banana, and even mangoes. Not as a flavoring, but the actual fruits themselves.

The jasmine in this also lends off a sort of caramelized character to it. Think of caramelizing onions. You don't add sugar when you caramelize an onion but you just bring out its natural sweetness, same thing for the jasmine here. It's quite honeyed almost.

For reference, I used to have a jasmine grandiflorum oil, and as it ages a bit, it does bring out more pronounced fruity aspects. Something that reminds me of fresh strawberries and ripe bananas. There's also a bit of some musky milk chocolate with something funky honey-like peaking from underneath. Those facets from the absolute are present in Lust.

As I'm wearing it throughout the day, interacting with my body heat, it brings out a honeyed neroli like fragrance, despite neroli or orange blossom not being in the notes at all, which i find really interesting. It must be the indoles interacting with my skin chemistry.

Speaking of indoles, i also do get that bubblegummy, borderline cherry cough syrupy, slightly corn-like, rubbery, human breath aspect in this on its earlier stage. Not foul breath, nor even a minty freshly-brushed-teeth breath, just an in between human breath about to build up some smell, but as i'm wearing it on me i don't get much of it. I just mostly get this raw, delicious, caramelized, musky neroli-jasmine smog with a bit of ylang ylang peaking it's head through the window.

I'm not sure if i'm getting much of the rose, sandalwood and vanilla but at the very drydown, the honeyed musky jasmine softens and that ghostly indole melts in to a sort of creamy, slightly sweet floral mush which i assume is contributed by the sandalwood and the slightest bit of vanilla.

I don't normally comment on projection and longevity but i think it's not as beastly as others have described. Longevity is pretty average and projection is stronger on the first handful of minutes it was sprayed but after a couple hours it sits closer to my skin, which is pretty much expected for an all natural fragrance.

This truly is heady, voluptuous and a big character and I can see why this would turn someone off, but as an avid admirer of the thickest of the indoles and white florals, this is indulgence!

It's fascinating how despite the singularity of the jasmine absolute in this can bring out so much weird facets one doesn't expect, but they all work since they naturally came out of the material. This fragrance showcased jasmine as a singular note that can be a whole perfume in itself because of how multi-faceted and flamboyant and full of character it is. Although it has other notes, they are only there to hold the stage and the lights for the jasmine.

This truly is the best jasmine soliflore that my money can afford. This fragrance in fact smells more expensive than what it is. I've smelled a couple of fancy niche jasmines which costs more than this, but they are not as authentically multi-faceted as this.

EDIT: as my bottle of this ages. it actually gets stronger. i was at a train once and the people near me had the displeasure of smelling this on me so pungently since i tend to overspray something i love. though as it wears throughout the day i just have this beautiful trail of something that smells like pure jasmine as people have noticed on a train once again. i guess one really gets immune/anosmic to the scent they love that they can no longer gauge how strong they really smell, especially from the perspective of others. if you find this not as strong as people said it, please let it age and go light handed on this:3

fragrantO

this is WAYYY too strong! it has such a strong silleage and longevity it is honestly annoying but if you want a fragrance that lasts for 1+ year / 3 months on cloth like blankets or something that really has a fully body then this is your girl

EdHardyJailer

Trashy, dirty, fuel, cough syrup. I cannot..for the life of me figure out what the hell is going on here.

jhindsb

The sluttiest, dirtiest jasmine I’ve ever encountered. It’s smoky and messy, not your run of the mill prim and proper jasmine. But so damn seductive when backed by the sandalwood and ylang. Definitely not your grandmother’s rose either. Fishnet stockings with doc martens and smudged red lipstick, making out with whiskey breath in the corner of a dive bar, maybe even seedy opium den during the prohibition era.

julie3858

I really love this perfume. It has a character! It is not the classical, soft, frech jasmine, it´'s somehow a little dirty one :)
Not a safe blind buy at all and not a crowd/or men pleaser either.
Price/quality ratio is right. It performs well in warm weather (at 20 C or so). Can be headache-inducing and nauseating for some.
But for me it´s a gem! (it lasts around 6-7 hours).

mschnabel666

I love a lusty, slutty perfume. But the only skanky part is straight from the nozzle. On my skin, it's def jasmine and then ylang-ylang- in a more buttery/bubblegum thickness than animalic and lusty. I find Serge Lutens Fils de Joie the best dirty jasmine.
I still adore this. But it's a dupe for Jasmin Rouge on my skin. Not a bad thing either.

I got this for half retail on ebay with a new chipped bottle. Not sure I'd spend retail on this. I was hoping for unashamed raunch.

I didn't find this nauseating strong (2022 bottle) but it was STRONG after 4 sprays and a touch up. :P That could be my newly arrived/shipped bottle, or the weather. I had an overcast cold rainy 60s day.

Gobtholemew

I fell in love with Le Labo Jasmin 17, but could never justify the price for the size and longevity. Fortunately, this is not only cheaper and smells identical, but is stronger and lasts longer! Le Labo's scent lasts less than 3 hours, whereas this lasts around 6.

The only real complaint is that this is STRONG. I don't mind it because I like it, but for the sake of other people, I put it on 15 to 30 minutes before I need to be somewhere. It's super overpowering, but I don't want that to change.

bloodyheartofparadise

update! after the initial long 4+ hours of extremely heady indolic rich dying jasmine sultry smuttiness, lust actually (slightly) tames into the most gorgeous sweet vanilla and less indolic jasmine scent that's still super sexy and strong but much gentler. the calm bliss after the intense all consuming orgasm if you will. if you recoil at this absolute slut of a perfume at first spray, just wait it out. you might be surprised at what else this lady of the night has to offer...

bloodyheartofparadise

just got my bottle today and wow, this perfume is absolutely repugnant... i love it! this is the strongest most hyper-realistic indolic jasmine explosion i have ever smelled. it's carnal and dirty and so unbelievably sexy and rough and just old school trash glamour! the first 10 minutes after spraying are challenging to say the least and i love my super strong powerhouse perfumes, but this is honestly something else. it's filthy for those first few minutes but only becomes a little less filthy there after. the trail from this perfume is just 10/10 nuclear, i've had a wall of thick luscious heady dying jasmine and ylang ylang surrounding me all day, it's been 5 hours and it still isn't even beginning to let up. it's less dirty at arms length but still super heavy and luscious. i'm getting pictures of beautiful brassy cheap chain smoking hookers in 1980's amsterdam, leather mini skirts, suspenders with ripped fishnet stockings, patent white stiletto pumps, pushed up boobs bum and legs on full display. it's trailer trash whore in all her glamorous glory and if that sounds like a bit of you then i can't recommend this perfume enough. just be prepared for a full on pedal to the metal indolic jasmine whore speed ride!

marialena888m

This fragrance aged beautifully, I like Lust more now than when I first purchased it in 2019. It’s become sweeter, deeper, richer. It’s still very indolic, very fleshy jasmine + ylang ylang bouquet, and now the vanilla has become more pronounced…indolic jasmine + indolic ylang ylang + deep boozy vanilla…I’m pleasantly shocked at how sweet it’s become. It’s still not an easy scent to wear and I mostly wear it indoors. Also, the liquid is red and stained my skin, I accidentally sprayed on my white blouse and there’s a reddish spot. I’m glad I kept my bottle though, because it’s absolutely scrumptious and satisfying…especially with that vanilla note that has aged into a deep rummy smell. If the word ‘voluptuous’ had a scent, this is it. It smells like a vintage scent, something I imagine women would wear to seduce their husbands a hundred years ago, it’s hyperfeminine and carnal. I also imagine Elizabeth Taylor in Cleopatra smelling like this. Perfect for the cooler fall days/nights.

Spaceflowerrr

It’s very nice for the first hour of wearing it but it ages so badly both on the skin and on clothes. It starts smelling like cat pee after a few hours. Such a shame as it is a very true Jasmin scent like no other.

Opal94

A conflicting, addictive scent. I was never a person who particularly liked the scent of gasoline, but now I know exactly what those people mean. This scent has the best notes gasoline has to offer, as well as green, thick and lush floral notes. It makes me feel as if I stepped right in the middle of a jungle, full of rich greenery and flowers with blooms bigger than my head. It's earthy and bitter and incredibly beautiful. I put it on whenever I want to feel sexier, and it works like a charm every single time.

mabelangel

my mother used to wear this fragrance so i stopped in my tracks when i saw it in lush today so i could try it. it's a very dirty and rough perfume. not gross dirty, but dirty in a sweaty and sexual way. a punk way maybe? it definitely lives up to the name. it's a slightly musky and woodsy white floral, probably not a safe buy if you like clean and gentle florals. it's a love it or hate it scent but regardless of what you think your thoughts on it will be, it's still an important one to try i think! very good longevity (all lush perfumes do), good projection. good for a grey autumn day! it's unisex too!

jumpcannon

I wore this all the time in college and my friend called it my “whore perfume” and that really sums it up. Now I am old and boring and barely ever have a good opportunity to wear it but it’s still gorgeous!!

qianqian

Strong, overpowering jasmine. The opening can be stinky if you get too close. Give it 10 minutes, and the bitterness of jasmine comes out. I like it!

powederedoranges

The solid version is fantastic. I went from a “dislike” with the overpowering, cloying, almost sickening eau de parfum, to a love with the realistic, subtle waft of the solid. Perfect for layering under other perfumes also, as it increases both jasmineyness and longevity.

camphor_lover

I was in love in 2015 when I wore this and now I can’t wear it anymore because of the pain! Fabulous fragrance.

Edit: I ended up buying it, being in love in 2015 wasn’t a huge deal it turns out. This is Ylang Ylang more than Jasmine imo, and it has a powdery smell which I hadn’t noticed before. Is this because I own the solid wax version? Anyway, Lust is not nearly as fab and sexy as I thought it was when I was a kid but I bet some other 20 year old out there would still like it as much as I once did. I’m rooting for you baby!!!!

matchaincense

The jasmine in this is so strong it straight up smells like anus and fried my nostrils for the rest of the day

h149

Filthy dirty NASTY jazz. Indole bomb, unwashed, unrefined, Alien for trailer trash. Interesting rough-around-the-edges sort of vibe if that’s what you’re going for, hard pass for me.

Bordo

This is astounding. My favourite jasmine perfume. It is super bright, rich and even fruity. I am not really feeling any other notes apart from jasmine and it is great, because there no rose or anything ruining the experience. It is an amazing jasmine throughout entire long wear, so it is quite linear but it is a plus. But it is not some simple jasmine tea jasmine. It it sweet, complex, super bright and rich, yet still not old lady like, jasmine. It has some fruity quality, almost like fruity gummies (I love gourmands btw), but smells nothing like food, it's rather like shampoo. If you are into jasmine, it is a must to check it out. Superb longevity, but for my preferred projection I need to spray quite a bit. Also, the liquid is red, so it can stain some white/lighter fabrics if applied directly. Once dry, there are no problems. I assure you, it is still worth it!

chosesvert

I wore this for a little while when I was like 19. It never quite landed right for me, like a twisted ankle. Almost heady, but really more sweaty. Horny. Rather than sensual or seductive. It chills out into a floral incense-y smell after about an hour. I remember having to put this on carefully because it'll stain your clothes, which is a really weird problem for a perfume??

unwrappedsonnyangel

Made the mistake of spraying this and then getting in my car. It felt like I was hotboxing with incense you get from a corner store, the type with an unserious name like TIGER PISS. Anywho, it's horny as hell and I've grown to love it. Possibly smells better when you're ovulating.

vibrant.girl

this is a love-it-or-hate-it, THICCC jasmine, and it is LUSTY. If a perfume can be horny, this one is. And I think if a bigger perfume house made this and listed civet in the notes, I'd believe them. I like it, but for whatever reason the red dye they include stains everything it touches - even transferring off my décolleté onto a blouse :(

If you ever pop into a LUSH store, try it and you might be obsessed with it - its an OG classic fave for a reason... this is one of their best.

gourmandgyaani

coming back to leave my regular review on this thing because I cant find a more suitable way to express my undying love for it.
never ending love affair, this one and I. nothing makes me feel quite as happy and beautiful as this.
what's more, my boyfriend loves it on me - all things jasmine remind him of me and I wore this the night him and I went on our first date.
forever my favourite this one.

dlst08

Sweet, fruity jasmine that smells both natural and trashy. I love it.

Pssnelke

Smells like opening a loose leaf jasmine tea tin, but with the intensity upped 100. Even though tea is not listed I mostly smell a kind of bitter, realistic jasmin tea on me, which I love! It is quite heavy, but I do prefer it over a overly sweet floral perfume and it works great to tone those down when you layer it. I also get pretty much no other notes besides the jasmin, especially no rose or vanilla. On of my favourite scents ever, I hope lush doesnt discontinue it.

galoppinglady

Never before did my boyfriend lose his cool because of how good I smelled, until I sprayed this on for the first time. He stops multiple times a day to just lean in and inhale it. That being said, I admit this is a divisive scent and definitely not a safe blind buy.

You really have to use a light hand to apply it, because the jasmine is very very strong and depending on your skin chemistry, it can be putrid. I usually just spray it in the air and walk into the mist - I still can smell on myself for hours. It smells very sweet and syrupy on me, I kind of associate it with a toothachingly sweet, fragrant, exquisite Middle Eastern dessert.

rezzmail

Skanky, heady, and extremely classic as sometimes to get the best of a floral you need the entire shrub.

It's pretty and deeply feminine like a smoke sucking Southern woman with a natural sultry air to her.

Absolutely heavenly and utterly magnetic.

massimilianoinquieto

Non sono sicuro che questo "gelsomino" sia un vero gelsomino e non il trachelospermum, cioè il falso gelsomino chiamato anche rincospermo.
Non mi convince.

HzlEyedQueen

I, initially, was in love with this fragrance. I smelt roses throughout. After a while though, after resting it, it smelled sickeningly sweet. I do believe that it's because I used to leave my fragrances or in the open. Now, I keep them in a closet where they can rest appropriately.

Jicky1982

This is intense jasmine scent. It knocks you over with strong, mentholated jasmine. It is a beast and one or two sprays are almost too much.

I am a white floral lover (I prefer tuberose and orange blossom) but this was too much for me.

There are different forms of jasmine scent. There is the scent of jasmine absolute and essential oil which are more pungent, darker, heavier and oilier than the fresh jasmine blossoms. I prefer the fresh, lighter greener scent of fresh jasmine flower. Lust is the scent of jasmine essential oil - pungent, mentholated and heavy. I get no sandalwood, vanilla, rose, gland or any other notes listed besides jasmine. This is a jasmine soliflore from start to finish.

ilikeweirdsmells

jasmine power bomb, jasmine is all i smell even after dry down. this is offensively pungent and extremely loud and just really in your face floral. i layered it with a few spritz on top of Sikkim Girls (RIP i cherish my last bottle<3) and i was pretty much leaving a trail of pungent floral pepper spray everywhere. if you want a strong perfume and you dont give a f*ck about anyone in your vicinity she's for you. And she is for me and i hope Lush doesnt discontinue

belladonnaofsadness

Honestly this might be my favorite scent of all time-it's certainly the one I've worn the most, as I just purchased my fourth bottle. I love it so much that I forgive it for being impossible to wear with any light clothing because it WILL stain. If it were possible I'd want to be embalmed in it so I could take it to the afterlife.

This is where we have to separate the people who can tolerate jasmine or are just a fan of it as something that falls under the broad category of white florals, from the true freaks who love jasmine in all its heady, intoxicating glory. There is zero point in being polite about it-it's a slutty, carnal perfume. This is something you wear when you're certain you're going to have skin out and want everyone to know you're a free spirited hot girl with cool earrings. Your mileage will vary on its strength-it comes out swinging for the first two hours-ish but I honestly feel it used to be stronger, and for me it dries down to more of a skin scent after the strong entrance, albeit one that sticks around. It absolutely will not be for everyone. It's rough around the edges like all Lush scents are and some folks just don't like "dirtier" heavy fragrances. But if you've ever daydreamed about sexily swaying with the object of your affections to Fleetwood Mac's "Hypnotized" or Stevie Nick's "How Still My Love", then I'd brave the nearest mall to try this out.

Let me preface this by saying I really like Lust, but I see why it's not a crowd pleaser. The best word for this perfume is "filthy", which is how a Lush employee actually described it to me. I personally appreciate that it is a Lush perfume that isn't overwhelmed by that all-pervasive Lush fragrance base that they are often too heavy-handed with in their formulation. There are some distant background notes of rose, ylang ylang, and vanilla, but the main thing going on here is strong, intense Jasmine (grandiflorum). It seems they've sought out an absolute that's very rich in indole, even for a grandiflorum, and as a result has this intense, kinda sharp note of human body scent wrapping within and around the floral-ness of the scent. This runaway Jasmine to the Nth degree element rides the absolute line of acceptability, which is why so many love it (it smells very erotic, sexual, pheromone-like, almost hypnotising) and also why so many dislike it (for these people it crosses the line into soiled, poop-y, or just overwhelmingly intense). As a result, this seems like something for the kind of person who wears fragrance for yourself and not for what others think. Bonus points if you have a partner who does find the smell erotic though!

lentilmum

Wore this perfume for years as my absolute favourite, thought it was sexy and fresh and reminiscent of summer. I eventually discovered EVERYONE around me hated it, but never wanted to tell me in case they hurt my feelings! I think it is fabulous but a lot of people find it very offensive to smell.

Hypnotic Flower

I've always heard so many great things about it. I got it but only worn twice, can't figure out how i feel about it, it smells like poop/dirty pad on me, other times it's too strong. Meh.

Guccigoblin

Jasmine and vanilla, in a heavenly heady way. I get why some wouldn't like this, but to me it's so sexy. It almost gives incense vibes, pre burn. It's earthy and floral, clean and dirty. It's paradoxical but oh God, it's sexy and I love it. Need a bigger bottle!

gourmandgyaani

I decided that in 2023, I would stop hoarding and collecting perfumes like a crazy person (I already have a whole ton) and will spend time with the ones I already have, getting to know them better and wearing them a lot and all of that
I have about 3-4 perfumes of all the ones I used who have got me in a chokehold which I don't ever miss a chance of stocking up on.
lush, is unfortunately, no longer serving in India. so, getting my hands on Lust is not as easy as walking into my corner Lush store. I have tons of friends who travel to the UK for work or pleasure often and so whenever someone close enough goes, I ask for only one thing - a bottle of this.
I got my 3rd stock bottle yesterday and I compared the one I am using - this does get darker with time clearly, and stronger as it macerates. the difference in the darkness of the juice between the bottle that came yesterday versus the one a friend got me last summer is huge!
I will let this new bottle sit and see how much stronger it gets. I hope this is no indication of them weakening the perfume?
Anyway, I love this perfume to bits. to pieces, to the moon and back and more. this, Khamrah by Lattafa and Hypnotic poison edt by Dior have got me in their grip so hard that I feel I am having a love affair with the three. I can't live without them and lust especially. if I had more easy access to this, I can see myself not wearing anything else for months on end till I get absolutely sickened by it.
I do about 7-8 sprays of this and I am set for the day. it is not beast mode as far as I feel (but yeah for the first hour if you're in close and closed quarters with others it will be a little cloying) after that? its just a gorgeous, soft scent trail - sexual and feminine, naughty and pure both, suited for literally all weathers? I actually see this doing much better and living up to its full potential in spring, autumn and monsoon - not the extreme heat or extreme cold. I think a moderate weather allows it to perform best and brings out the true character. the heat quickly kills it and the cold makes it sharper, less enveloping and soft.
this is a simple perfume but it is genius.
it always reminds me of sticking my nose into a cold, wet bronze bowl of water in which fresh jasmine flowers are floating - this is probably a childhood memory. I also imagine being in a garden and behind me, white curtains flow and I am wearing a soft white Kurta myself.
this screams wealth and confidence to me.
lush is so underrated when it comes to their perfumes.
I sincerely hope they quickly return to India. perhaps they came here at the wrong time, this was in the early 2010's. the market is ripe and ready for them - lush if you are listening, come back please.

FallenLeaf

Addictive stuff! I even crave it when I'm not wearing it!

I own this & love it! It's intoxicating & really is so addictive! Now my signature fragrance. I instantly feel happier when I spray this on myself. However, at certain times all I can smell is backside! 🤢 therefore I can't wear it then!

But when I do wear it, two or three sprays is well enough! Any more, & the backside smell starts to emerge.

But when it's 'normal', it lures you in for constant sniffing & the wafts you get in a breeze, or just throughout the day, are like catnip drops to cats! 😌

I'm so glad I discovered it & gave it the chance it deserved. I would not be without it now & I hope it never gets discontinued!

I also own the solid version, it's also amazing but less in your face.

Just typing about it makes me want to spray Lust on myself, so.......

Bye! ;) >>>>>>> GONE!

UPDATE: Went for about a month without wearing this perfume & today I sprayed some again for the first time.

Suddenly it was as though I was alive once more! Honestly, I cannot express how much this perfume manages to lift me & make me feel so much better. It is absolutely stunning, reviving, uplifting & addictive! I love it so much!

I never in a million years could have imagined that a perfume (that disgusted me at first I must add!) could have such an effect on me!

Now, at 50 years of age, I can appreciate why people adore fragrances & make them part of their lives! For someone that has had to be so careful because of allergies & health problems, I know that I have found THE ONE! If Lush ever discontinues this magical potion, I will be heartbroken!

Update 16/01/24:
Still absolutely love to sniff this, especially the little pot of solid perfume, but sadly I cannot currently wear it since having COVID in October!

flower sniffing girl

beautiful fresh jasmine scent. smells like a jasmine bush after a rainy day. the rose is also quite apparent. i’m not sure what ylang ylang smells like but i didn’t pick up that or any of the other notes. just a beautiful natural rose and jasmine scent with good lasting power.

imperfect-angel

I get what skanky jasmine is now! Normally I love jasmine in a perfume. I love Alien, I love dior pure poison. But I can’t stand this. Very pungent jasmine almost urinal, remind me of damp dark alley of indian street in bangkok where they sell incense and spices.
This is not for a faint of heart.

caiterin

I'm totally in love. Simple but so addictive and hypnotic. It's a must-have for a jasmine lover. Only need 2-3 sprays and lasts a good 6 hours before becoming a skin scent. The red juice is a tad annoying but I really only spray this on my skin so it's fine.

AlliCat1215

This is as floral as it gets. Almost a bit too floral for me. It’s very strong to the point of almost overpowering. A little goes a long way! I can smell it on my hoodie several days later.

Edit-this is one of the strongest perfumes I’ve ever used. Not only can I smell it on my hoodie after a week I can smell it on my BRA

shannoncham

Heady, dizzying, addictively sweet. I can’t stop smelling myself. I thought I was well out of my floral phase and strong into amber scents but this is singlehandedly converting me back into an advocate for the timeless jasmine x rose pairing. It has that oily heaviness that many people have come to associate with Lush, but it works exceptionally well here. It’s a tad bit overwhelming but I can remedy that with one less spritz. Just gorgeous.

hieromance

a few months ago i passed a girl on the street and behind her there was a cloud of intoxicating jasmine scent. and just based on all the reviews and characteristics, i knew it was this one!

no one mentions this very much, but i smell a lot of damascus rose in this, it's probably what makes it more sweet and appealing and less indolic - based on the reviews, this might be what changed during the years. rosa damascena also comes first in the ingredients. wish there was a bit more sandalwood to balance out the sweetness.

if you wished floral perfumes smelled less like perfume and more like the actual flower, then this is the one. instead of sampling, you can smell some honeysuckle or mock-orange in a botanical garden

RoxieReckless

Lust is a White Flower supernova that creates a zone of floral sillage leaving no place for anyone to hide. At the edge of the zone is a yellow and purple vortex of gardenia and honeysuckle that draws you into a base of crushed, beaten, and bruised Jasmine that's challenging at first, but becomes more addictive with every application. Below the bright white jasmine and gardenia is a potent core of soft, green ylang ylang and luscious pink roses. The real mastery at work when it comes to Lust, is that despite the bouquet of some of the most powerful floral scents in perfuming, this perfume never reads powdery, even six hours later, it smells like green, living, flowers. Get it.

Sweet&Fruity

I’m told this smells the same as Flying Fox used to, which was one of my go-to scents, so let me review it based on that -

A massive, huge, jasmine and honeysuckle bomb, sweetened with a note of pure, sweet honey. The jasmine here is intoxicatingly strong, not synthetic at all, just purely, plainly, unadulterated and in-your-face. It’s like walking through an avenue filled to the brim with jasmine and honeysuckle plants in full bloom.

There’s a sweetness there too, as I say, a honey note, some vanilla tickling the nose there too, a dash of crushed rose petals also. It’s an extremely ‘grown-up’ and mature, seductive floral. Whilst the blast of jasmine is what hits you initially and definitely stays with you, it does dry down to a honeyed sweetness that lingers on the skin.

I used to absolutely love this scent. Ordinarily, I’m not a big one for hugely floral scents, but there’s something about this, mingled with the rose, vanilla and honey, that makes it irresistible. I felt supremely feminine wearing it, and it really lifted my mood every time I showered with Flying Fox, leaving the bathroom smelling divine afterwards. Why Lush discontinued FF, I’ll never know. So yes, I’m summation - very sensual, feminine, powerful jasmine-and-honey bomb.

The closest thing I’ve ever found to this outside of Lush, is JPG’s Scandal, which also blasts you with a very strong and sensual jasmine bomb. Both are not your shy-and-retiring delicate kind of perfume, both demand attention. Some of the notes in Scandal are different but the essential essence is still very similar, and both have the same intense sillage and longevity.

Gingercat77

I had this many years ago in solid form and forgot about it until I rediscovered it this week.
I’m glad I did. I am a massive fan of jasmine, it’s my favourite scent and you cannot get a more intense jasmine scent than this perfume. Combined with ylang ylang, it’s heavenly!
It reminds me of deep summer when my jasmine plant flowers and the warm evening air carries the scent far and wide.
It’s a massive jasmine bomb so beware when you spray!
Absolutely deliciously gorgeously intoxicating but not for the faint of heart!
Love love love it

reginasiena

in my country, jasmine is labelled as cheap parfume and somehow related to ghost and spirit BUT when I tried and use this, I am converted to jasmine lover. Super jasmine fragrant but somehow calming. The sillage also amazing. Worth to buy. Be careful with the stain.

Ofaruk

Truly unique indolic jasmine powerhouse, full stop. This blend is a classic, and reflects a geniune old school approach from top to bottom. A homage to the bold drug store perfumes of the yesteryear. Not a designer, not a clone, not a cheapie without any question. It has a moderate price tag compared to the value that it presents.

However, there is something that feels unrefined in Lust. When I say this, I feel puzzled and hold myself to do injustice to this feral floral bouquet. Definetly worth sampling to see if it works for you. For me, it just doesn’t fit in the refined category for my taste.

Autumn_Moon

This one is not for those who want their perfume to whisper -- at least, not during the first hour of wear. Be warned: Lust's jasmine will crank the stereo to 11 and sing along, and it doesn't care what anyone else thinks of its cathartic, primal vocalizations.

Dirty, heady, voluptuous, indolic jasmine creates an unforgettable impression from the moment of application. Ylang ylang contributes to this impromptu jam session, but the main player is always jasmine. Sure, there might be a touch of rose, vanilla, and sandalwood to provide background support, but I hardly notice them.

The overall impression I get is that of an unseasonably warm, humid night in late spring; rows of jasmine bushes are nearby, and they're in full bloom... a few of those blossoms are close to the end of their lifespan... and the fragrance saturates the air. (Ironically, I'd hesitate to *wear* it in warmer, more humid weather, simply because it's already quite thick and heavy during the initial hour.)

This is not the "cleaner" version of jasmine found in many mainstream perfumes. This one feels very close to the experience I get when I sniff a jasmine essential oil -- only Lust has a *lot* more projection for the first hour than any essential oil I've been able to get my hands on. After that, though, it quiets down significantly and becomes something close to a skin scent on me, fading away and becoming barely perceptible at around the 3 1/2 hour mark. Not the best performance, to be sure, but the oh-so-natural take on jasmine in this perfume might compensate for that, if you happen to be a jasmine lover. Also, the fact that Lush offers 10ml travel sprays of this one is a plus, as it's possible to add this to my collection without committing to a larger bottle.

I had a 80-something sweet Iranian neighbor that weekly brought me and my daughter freshly picked Arab jasmine flowers. She didn’t speak English but I understood she was suggesting to put the flowers near the pillow at bedtime for a better sleep. The scent was intoxicating and this perfume reminds me of that scent: pure jasmine, like sinking your nose on a handful of freshly picked flowers. I am reviewing the solid perfume and it’s so strong that I have to dab it on my back and on the back of my knees. Super strong, you will love it only if you super-love of the jasmine note and accept a strong ylang-ylang middle note.

akibekal89

super strong and massive monster of jasmine
some of my friend cannot bear this perfume
it sickly super sweet and floraly and really jasmine mosnter
but i really love this perfume just the red colour from the juice will stain your clothes

Julia P

I am a fan of Lush scents and this one is no exception. Big, bold, deliciously sweet jasmine that is fun and feminine. Blended beautifully, I have a hard time distinguishing the notes. Do not overspray - the juice is potent and stays on clothes for days. Fun fact - I get hungry every time I wear it.

Moondance13

One of my Lush blind buys. The top note made me gag a bit and regret that I had wasted my money of such a horrid perfume as it was so strong with somewhat unusual floral scents. But as the middle notes started to appear and I got the scent of somewhat heavenly jasmine wiff in my nose, I fell in love with the perfume.
Again, like many Lush perfumes, this is not for everyone. The most complements I've gotten are;"well that is interesting smelling perfume" and "that's a strong smell of jasmine" 😜 so not everyone's cup of tea.

As someone who loves the smell of jasmine, this is my evening perfume. Definitely too heavy for a daytime. To me the scent is very seducting and sexy. Makes me feel like a queen of the night.
I usually get migraine from strong perfumes but there is something with even the strongest of Lush perfumes that I tolerate without migraine attacks.

clairedaloon

I had a sniff of this at Lush yesterday and it not only made me recoil in a ‘what the hell am I smelling’ sort of way but I also involuntarily said, ‘bloooooody hell!’ and unfortunately got a sales person’s attention. Ι then shoved it under my boyfriend’s nose and it got a recoil and a raised eyebrow with a little more refined, ‘woah’. To me, it smelt straight off of petrol followed by more oil and dirt. It’s what the pits at Thruxton smell like on race day, petrol, oil, grease, muddy tires and sweaty mechanics.

This is probably one that needs to settle on your skin and I have had instant dislike reactions to many fragrances that I then ended up loving, but never had such a visceral dislike as I had to this one.

I wouldn’t dismiss trying it again, but maybe when I can stay home all day to give it a test run.

NessJaneGray

This is one of the rare Lush perfumes that I absolutely love and actually repurchase. It's definitely not for the faint hearted and if you don't like a punchy fragrance I wouldn't buy it. I love the intensity and how beautifully this matures on my skin. It's a little too intense initially but after a few minutes it starts to mellow a little and just smells gorgeous. I'm not a fan of overly sweet jasmine and this is definitely not a powdery or light jasmine at all. Wearing this makes me feel amazing!

frank_yxz

I tested the spray version.
I agree with the review below. The first few minutes really give this moth ball smell, it is very unpleasant.
After "surviving" those minutes, I get only jasmine, literally only jasmine. The smell of jasmine is so dominant that I hardly get any rose or ylang-ylang scent.
I personally enjoy jasmine tea and appreciate its fresh scent; however, the jasmine here is different, it is heavier and even a bit "chemical".
If you are not a fan of floral perfumes, please test it before you purchase the bottle.

ceeceelee

At first spray, you think "what the eff did I just do to myself?", but 30 ~ 40 minutes later its a warm jasmine tea skin scent that lasts 2-3 hours more. That first half hour is a heady fresh jasmine, indoles and all, blowing on a sweet, warm summer night with the ylang, sandal and vanilla giving depth and creaminess. I don't get any rose, at any stage. It smells like the air around our high school stadium where we would go every friday night to watch our football team play rival schools, in the southern US. The jasmine grew wild around the stadium. If a breeze was blowing, you would smell jasmine and cooling, sweaty young bodies. Very heady floral indeed. But for me it's all over in under an hour and the jasmine tea comes in. I don't spray more that 1 spray bc it's just too overwhelming without giving the benefit of longer wear, but you can always top up and get the same effect. I won't repurchase and can't see myself using this much (30 ml), but it's a nice trip town memory lane by just sniffing the bottle.

saffe

I have this in solid form, and I really enjoy it. I find that ylang yland and vanilla notes are stronger in solid perfume. And I am not complaing! 😊 This seems to be the only jasmine scent that works for me, usually jasmine turns somehow "dirty" on my skin (I also didn't really like this in original spray form). This is sophisticated and works for every season, day and night.

Soccergreat88

Wooof! I get a heady heady floral sunscreen time scent, stronger in the ylang ylang than Jasmine to me

It is a dark red juice so be careful spraying on white linens as it will probably stain.

Not for me but I can see this being enjoyable if you love heady florals that will be absolute beast mode and overpowering

pimmyprink

Went to test it out at Lush store after it was recommended by a friend who was a former Lush employee.
As a white floral, light, fresh scent lover, I really wanted to like it. Unfortunately, I ended up not enjoying the experience. It took only one spray on my wrist/forearm and the smell was so strong, so overwhelming and even felt a bit synthetic to me.
I live in a hot and humid country and this reminds me of something old, like the jasmine garland used in a religious setting, or used to keep the interior of a car smelling nice.
Since, in my mind, I associate this scent with old people, traditions, it wasn't the jasmine I enjoy. But I can see how the West could enjoy this as an 'exotic' scent. It's a disappointment for me though.

AleAle

My favorite perfume currently and gotten so many compliments! Definitely for the later hours, naughty and sapphic. The dirty jasmine is so powerful in this and might not work for many people but when it finds the correct skin, it’s AMAZING. For those who like strong, mature fragrances.

helloearth

This review is for the old, illustrated bottle. I have and love the new bottle too but it is a bit more straightforward to me (less rose, less cosy/creamy). I have worn this perfume so much it has become the scent of my life. I started wearing this (probably a bit prematurely) in high school, and now I associate it with every happy memory I have - vacations, beach days, long lazy summer days, first dates, sweaty nights dancing at the goth club.
If I had to describe this perfume in one word it would be "lush" (not just because it's from Lush!) - heady, full, blooming flowers. It is a full on realistic jasmine, a teeny bit stanky, sweetened by rose and vanilla.
On first spray I get the petrol smell (I happen to love the smell of petrol anyway!) but it quickly settles into a beautiful creaminess. I totally understand that it's not for everyone. Personally, I highly recommend completely dousing yourself and experiencing the magic!

jasminelust

The word that springs to mind for me is JUICY, i feel like I'm doused in the best smelling pure flower juice, it's heaven.

This is my favourite scent, woo-ing me away from the much darker deeper perfumes I used to favour.

One thing is - at first spray this scent is HUGE but it fades too quickly, so I've begun carrying the 30ml with me for top ups. I don't want it to be stronger, but it does become a bit of a skin scent after a few hours, so I find a single spray to top up when needed is much better than overspraying the first time.

I wear this to any occasion, any day, any time, any season. I get loads of compliments on this, and personally have never caught a whiff of mothballs.

When I wear this I feel enveloped, held, loved, adored, desired, and confident. It gives me a boost every time I catch a smell. The blending is perfect, floral heaven with the vanilla revealing itself toward the end, like a sweet memory of the moment just passed.

Lust isn't overpowering, but it is noticable, and extremely carnal/animalistic/sexy. Because it's the sort of smell that gets noticed, if you are shy this might not suit you, but for anyone else, you won't necessarily become the centre of attention, but you'll have a mysterious allure that people will be drawn in by.

I do think it smells different on skin than on a tester strip, I thought it lacked complexity and was a bit too sweet on the strip, but decided to buy it anyway on the strength of some of the reviews on here, and I'm glad I did, because the base note it needed turned out to be my natural human smell. Because of this I would say if possible test it on yourself, as it might not react as well with your skin chemistry as it does with mine.

It has good potential to layer with some darker & smokier scents. Today I am wearing it with 4:20pm (also by Lush) and the combination is intoxicating. Like a summer night out with a lover, bodies pressed together.

RottigrlNYC

I love all the notes in this but all I get is a horrible screechy Indolic jasmine. This perfume wears me. I don’t like it at all and somehow I have two bottles, one vintage original and one I bought 4 yrs ago.

naptimenyquil

i wore this every day when i was in college. it's a very pretty, very feminine jasmine/rose scent. when it's freshly sprayed it fills the room, i would not recommend this to someone who likes light scents. if you want people to be able smell you from a mile away after application, this definitely does the job. it's extremely strong, yet somehow does not last as long as i would like it to on me.

cheekyfaerie

Smells like mothballs

Enrium

Lust from Lush (great name) is a dirty jasmine scent. Indolic as hell, carnal and natural, it is certainly not polite or subtle, and is far from being a crowdpleaser.

Lust opens with strong, indolic jasmine from initial spray. It is overpowering, skanky and unapologetic. I felt sorry for others on the bus I took shortly after spraying this.

It mellows somewhat, very gradually as it develops, with ylang ylang adding some sweetness. Some woodiness creeps in during the later stages, grounding it somewhat. Vanilla adds more sweetness as it fades, but the indolic jasmine remains until final fade.

Sillage is initially enormous, but subsides quite quickly, and longevity is moderate - it fades to a faint skin scent barely three hours in. While it could lean feminine due to the florals, it is unisex in my opinion - it just needs a strong personality to pull it off. A year-round evening scent.

Grudging admiration, but not wearable for me. Subtle as a nuclear bomb. 4/5.

gourmandgyaani

this is becoming one of my favourite perfumes of all time and i keep coming back here to talk about it as the journey with it continues
oh lush, please come back to india! please.
the market is ripe for you now :((
also, i love this perfume so much but it just doesnt last on me :( 2-3 hours tops, by the third hour its a very very faint vanilla skin scent. it performs only the first two hours. one of the weakest perfumes i love
but boy oh boy
is this gorgeous
indolic dirty jasmine a little sweet a little woody a little obnoxious
would bathe in this 10/10

marialena888m

I adore this dirty jasmine, it’s very realistic and life-like, natural and raw. Sweet, heady Arabian jasmine in all its fecal, indolic glory, it’s like sticking my nose into the blossoms. People around me hate it though. I had nothing but nasty comments wearing it. My mom (who loves Obsession, Chanel no.5, Bal a Versailles, and many powerhouses from the 80s and 90s, even ‘skanky’ ones), well, she hated it. One guy thought someone sprayed mosquito repellant when I wore it outside, another friend commented I smelled like mothballs lol. To be fair, they did smell me just awhile after spraying it on, it smells much less polarizing after it melds with my skin chemistry a couple hours later. Oh well. I’ll enjoy it at home for myself, I love layering Lust with VS’s Bombshell body mist and lotion, I think they smell amazing together, and the citrusy Bombshell really helps to tone down the indoles in Lust. Note that my edp is from 2018, I don’t know if it still smells the same these days. As much as I appreciate Lust, I actually prefer Sikkim Girls over it, easier to wear and creamier, sad it was discontinued.

lavieparfum_44928

Sooo strong, it made me wonder if the sample in the Lush store I went to was 20 years expired... not for the faint of heart and I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

ViciousVirgo

FAVORITE frag of ALL time…something about the combo of ylang, jasmine, rose, vanilla & grounding sandalwood all in the perfect proportions & balanced and blended so well… it’s neither too cloyingly sweet, or too spicy.

wish it lasted MUCH longer/at all, it’s so fleeting on skin (most Lush frags give me a rash on my neck only). But on clothing & especially in my hair… it’s eternal. alluringly binds to my hair & when I move I catch a whiff of the beautiful scent. Fave way to wear it, truly stunning.

I buy the 100ml, try to make them last but always feel I need multiple back ups of Lust esp bc I know how much Lush enjoys discontinuing fan favorites & bestsellers literally *all the time* to “make way for new products” and I’m always terrified they’re going to retire this frag... Just like they did with Sikkim girls & tuca tuca & imogen rose & rump & queen bee & Godiva & and *soooo many* other favorite scents and products I thought I couldn’t live w.o before they yanked them to be discon & forgotten in the Lush graveyard thats filled to the brim with everyone’s favorites.

Also odd Lush doesn’t follow industry standards & label / refer to their liquid perfumes as EDP, EDT or Parfum etc. anywhere on the bottles / website. Only marketed as “perfume”. kind of convenient so the consumer has no way of knowing the actual potency or % of fragrance oils to alcohol… but regardless I’d pay even more for Lust, it’s one I can’t live w.o

Lust Immediately became my favorite the first time I smelled it ~5yrs ago; i was a huge lush fan, drawn to the jasmine, blind bought & was my ideal perfume; I felt like it was me, defined and bottled.

It was my favorite back then… and even after exploring and experiencing hundreds of fragrances; endless florals, white florals, jasmine frags, etc (prob always subconsciously looking for one that would match/compare to this…) and it’s still my favorite, and I’ll always come back to it.

Lust had a profound effect on me, an instinctive reaction that triggered some innate sense memory or emotion(s)… like a fleeting dream that floats away from your consciousness the second you wake up. And you try so hard, but you can’t remember, because it’s all gauzy & the more you try to remember, the more it’s like trying to grasp at wisps of smoke that disappear in your fingertips- but you recognize the feelings that are tied to it. It’s intoxicating yet comforting & familiar in the most beautiful way.

Lust is a VERY realistic jasmine fragrance, it’s scent is soooo close to the white jasmine vine in our backyard that no one planted; it climbed over our wall from the previous neighbors yard so long ago and took root in our yard. Then new neighbors moved in & ripped *everything* out of their yard but the stunningly wise & beautiful jasmine survived on our side spurred only by its sense of self-preservation, where it’s appreciated, thanked & adored, even more now bc of this twist of fate and for the fact that its so fleeting.

Every spring it blooms, and the flowers last for maybe 2 weeks before they begin to brown and die. I look forward to it all year long and it’s one of the things I love most abt my home. Because during those 2 weeks it fills my backyard with its beautifully potent & sweet aroma. And after sunset, the scent somehow becomes even stronger, like during the day the heat from the sun has warmed its fragrant oils and at nightfall releases the essence into the still-warm night air. I could breathe that scent forever lol. It’s heavenly. And in the evenings I sit outside reading a book, listening to the crickets and nocturnal creatures, breathing in the seductive fragrant night, knowing summer is coming, wishing I could inhale it’s sweet white indoles forever but knowing it’s blossoms will slip away on the wind, and loving it even more because of it.

And each day around dusk I selfishly snip a few flowers with their pink buds and delicate, silky-white star-shaped petals, so easily bruised, to put on my nightstand so I can smell them in my dreams while I sleep.

Kitcaliguluhhh

I have a jasmine plant growing in my back yard that blooms all year. I’m very familiar with the scent. This is Jasmine, straight from the flower jasmine.

likesleet

pure jasmine. it’s very fierce and on the attack.

naterían

This is definitely the strongest jasmine perfume I've ever had. This is an extremely feminine and potent true jasmine scent. The other notes are almost lost because of the jasmine, which can be overwhelming and cloying to some. This fragrance is just OK for layering since it is just so strong. The sillage is absolutely enormous (as many Lush scents are), and I typically get 6-8 hours of wear from this fragrance, though I have noticed it sits very close to the skin for up to a full day of wear. I would strongly advise against applying more than 2 sprays at a time! I gave this scent away because it was just a bit too feminine for my personal taste, but I still think it's a very good perfume, just not for my personal taste. 9/10 quality! Definitely worth smelling if you are a fan of jasmine notes.

Nurse_Ratchet_82

Animalic jasmine. It's quite indolic on my skin. I enjoyed Flying Fox body wash before they discontinued it; this is the same fragrance. Unlike Flying Fox, which was warm and shimmering jasmine over creamy sandalwood and vanilla, this is overtly, dirty jasmine.

Decoris Amora

Jasmine is one of my favourite notes, although in most parts it features mostly in fragrances for women. Luckily I'm one who don't view fragrances along gender lines, what a waste if you do.

But jasmine per se is also quite volatile given that it could be indolic on one end of the spectrum while being gloriously delicate and intimate as jasmine sambac, the floral that has seen its value rise five folds after Dior used it as the feature note for the J'adore line.

Lush's Lust is a jasmine between the two extremes and is uniquely composed with the distinctive aroma of ylang ylang which straddles between the florally and slightly bitter of the jasmine and the taut sweetness of neroli.

But beware on the trigger as this is both loud in fragrance and performance. Nuclear you could say.

Annie623

I bought the solid perfume of this one a while ago and I gotta say- it’s a new favorite. I love white florals, but don’t love how light and feminine they usually come across. I prefer heavier, more unisex scents, and while I would say Lust skews more feminine, it has a grittiness to it that keeps it from being too overly floral or girly.
The solid perfume last for about 3-4 hours on my skin. It starts off as a very strong pure jasmine then mellows out into a grimier floral scent, something warmer and woodier.
Beautiful if you love white florals but want something with a tougher vibe.

Selina_

This scent is perfect if you love the smell of the lush store. Its exactly how the shop itself smells. Its very strong, 2 sprays is more than enough and it lasts a good 6-8 hours. It projects very well, so if your sitting in an office all day id maybe give this one a miss. I personally am i love with it but could see it giving others a head ache if to much is sprayed.
Strong jasmine scent, but again i can only sum this up as the addicting scent of lush stores.

siorem

I have thought about it so much - do I need this perfume? I am obsessively trying to hunt down sad white florals, sexy powerhouses with jasmine and tuberose. I have almost blind bought it multiple times but I am glad I didn't as I managed to test it in a Lush store recently.
This is interestingly composed and really unique. After the massively heady opening (it was only one spray!) it dries down to a beautiful intoxicating floral scent.
But that's it. For me, this fragrance smells straight like jasmine oil (Jasminum Officinale), the one can be used for aromatherapy. I have this oil and I remember at first it smelled weird and too indolic, but at the same time really soft and a bit erotic. Compared to this, the perfume is not as bold as I have expected it to be. I find it underwhelming, and the other notes do not round it up properly.
Unfortunately in the drydown I can sense a faint mothball smell too.

jenn.ca

I still have a 30 ml bottle from 2017 that is three quarters full. I spray it from time to time. It has mellowed out the gasoline-like top note and I only now get a sweet jasmine tea kind of smell. However it doesn’t last as long as it used to! I sometimes pair it up with salty vanillic frags like Olympea.

gourmandgyaani

As far as I'm aware, you don't get Lush products locally in India anymore. They shut shop a few years ago here and so, a friend was visiting the states earlier this year and got me a bottle of this. I have been pining for this for YEARS and was a total blind buy because I love jasmine, vanilla, sandalwood and so this is a no brainer.
I am aware of its bold and intimidating reputation and was so excited to see what the hype was about.
So, for starters, this is an absolute love at first sniff. it reminds me so much of the jasmine incense used widely in this part of the world. and it has that slight sweetness and woodiness from both sandalwood and vanilla, both of which are generally sweet strong scents. I love this thing so much. For me though, it doesn't really have that spread your legs sexiness that everyone talks about maybe because of the association with jasmine in India - here, jasmine is a plant of elegance and strength and even worship. Hindu temples will regularly smile like this. Women even use these flowers in their hair here all the time. jasmine is of course strong and sensual, but it is more elegant and sensual to me than sexy and flirty and lusty. That's just my experience and association with the scent I guess.
the dry down is so pretty too. the dry is actually sweet woody and jasmine much like the opening but less sharp
this is a very linear perfume and I like that too
but the issue is the performance. I had heard it lasts and lasts and lasts and projects all day and on clothes maybe it will but I gave it a ride on my skin (I prefer my perfumes on skin and not clothes because I want the perfume to play with my body heat and chemistry) but I think for me about 3 hours in, its a soft skin scent.
at about 4 hours I would personally have to reapply.
nevertheless, I am super happy with this and think its gorgeous and would definitely repurchase when I travel or if someone else travels back from wherever Lush stores are.
I also think this is best for seasons that aren't extremes.- spring, monsoons, auntumn. maybe a light winter.
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous.

didsthecat

I’m not sure if it’s because I have the solid perfume, but this just doesn’t last long on me. It’s a very heavy scent as well. I love it though. It reminds me of warm summer nights in Greece.

thebewitchingyasmine

Inescapable, intoxicating fields of jasmine at the peak of their blooming. You decide whether that's alluring or repulsive, but that is the contrarian nature of the jasmine captured here.

Juicyscents

This one is a tricky one to evaluate.
I tried it in winter and the opening was way too sharp almost a bit urine like, then I tried it in warmer weather and it came off way more well rounded and sweet.
I think this performs better during spring/summer as the Ylang Ylang shines through and the Jasmin smells almost like it's sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Overall nice but a bit redundant if you already have other jasmine fragrances in your collection.
Longevity is really good on me and projection is moderate.
Test it on skin before buying and don't spray on white clothes, it stains.

Annabear

Similar to Regal Kitten, I had a poor experience with this fragrance. I couldn’t wait to wash it off, ironically the fragrances one least admires tend to cling tenaciously on the skin.
There’s an oily plastic/chemical smell, I can’t tell you what it reminds me of - but it’s not pleasant. I would recommend that you try this before buying.

catpawgaultier

From my non-connoisseur nose, I can easily tell you this is fresh, flowery, and sexy and carnal because of a lightly musk base. It's perfect for those who like flowers/clean smells, and want a nighttime scent for spring/fall/winter.

It's definitely a nighttime fragrance though, because of the musk - it's too heavy (and because of the jasmine, aaaalmost a little too 'exotic'-spicy smelling, for daytime, and too heavy for summer too I'd say unless it's a cold night. So apologies if you want a daytime scent, this one is a bit too much! But please make it your nighttime fragrance - sugary vanilla/spicy old-granny perfume lovers, beware! This one will weed you lot out for sure 😂

I have this in the solid balm perfume which is easily the best way to experience it (no alcohol/eau de toilette smell, chemical smells etc.) so it's just the essential oils and perfume. And honestly, I think it's the best way to apply it - it gives your skin a tiny pinky blush that flatters tanned skin wherever you apply it (I do it to my shoulders and sides of my neck, it looks very vampy).

A side note: I didn't know it was jasmine at first until I saw it, and I was always a bit worried jasmine would smell heavy on me. It only smells jasmine-y if you know what jasmines smell like. Otherwise, you'd assume it's just a great floral, maybe a rose or peony, so it's good as long as you're a fan of flowers :)

acazahra

This perfume somehow reminds me of a sweet jasmine tea or teh manis (in Bahasa Indonesia) which I used to drink every morning before going to school when I was staying with my family. Now that I am living outside country, this perfume is reminding me a lot of home. Jasmine is very strong and vanilla is also prominent, floral but with a sugary sweet kind of feeling. I guess I have the newest formulation. This perfume is kind of strong, not the subtle fragrance I usually tend to wear.

RegalKitten

I tested this because I love jasmine but this perfume is a nauseating, bad-breath nightmare that just wouldn't wash off and I had to wait for it to fade. It was only fully gone the next day. I just sprayed a little on my wrist in the store (big mistake) and with Lush stores being a mess of smells I didn't notice how bad it was until I was on my way home. When I got home the bad breath smell on my wrist was stronger than the jasmine and it made me so nauseous I couldn't eat and I couldn't concentrate on anything. I hate it with a passion and hope to never smell this on anyone.

scatteredshowers

This is the perfume that sold me on jasmine.
Before, jasmine was a heavy, cloying, waxy, nasty floral that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Any perfume I tried with a jasmine note was instantly ruined. I don't know who or what spoiled jasmine for me, but it has been a longstanding foe.
So imagine my surprise when I smelled this in the store and was instantly transported to a sweet, overgrown garden buzzing with bees, butterflies, and rosy maple moths - I even thought I smelled honeysuckle. Maybe it was the similarity to honeysuckle that won me over, since it's always been a nostalgic scent. The combination of vanilla and jasmine is certainly similar, and ylang ylang has been such a longstanding favorite of mine that it feels like this perfume was practically made for me. It won me over instantly, and I threw it into my basket without a second thought.
If only every perfume was a long lasting, vivid, and full bodied as Lust. I love how overpowering it is; the perfect way to make an impression. It's so rich and sweet, you want to chew it, but don't mistake it for a gourmand. Is it dirty? Maybe, with the right intent. But there's nothing lustful about Lust to me. To me, it is a colorful, sumptuous, exotic flower garden, shimmering in the heat of the day.

vulcano

The jasmine is quite nice but the main note here is plastic.

mhmiguelharris5

Reformulation? I have a 2019 bottle still full to the top because the jasmine was JASMINING 😂 it’s so strong but becomes more creamy due to the Ylang Ylang / sandalwood almost smells like jasmine & cocoa butter!!

I guess I’ll keep this full bottle for collection purposes and buy the new one since there’s a change in smell?

Kotikina

That's a 'no' from me. I really hoped to love it, but all I get is a very strong acetone. The acetone is so strong that I cannot even smell any jasmine behind it. And I am not a very faint hearted when it comes to perfumes.

parslysoda

the reformulation completely neutered the indolic, spread-your-legsness of the jasmine. now it smells like a lush store with the addition of a cloying candy plasticiness. not much to write home about any more

if anyone has a 2019 or previous version that they'd like to sell please DM me!

S.kekkonen

This is a wonderful fragrance, very strong which scares me bc I'm very much not the kind of person who wants to bother others with my scent and jasmine can be quite polarizing. However I absolutely love this, to my nose it smells photorealistic and unpolished. The jasmine is totally dominating and gives of a dark and witchy feeling.

Cephyrine

Jasmine is but a fleeting top note after the reformulation - this used to be an iconic jasmine and now it’s really not worth discussion

hajka

What is Tubereuse criminelle to tuberose , so is Lust the one to jasmine.
Brutally beautiful indolic sorceress.

hayley__randy

I literally wore this scent for almost 15 years until it was the favorite of a great love who became the one who got away, so I had to give her up. That said, this will always be one of my lost loved fragrances of all time. Very jasmine forward; I don't smell much else, so if you don't like jasmine, this is absolutely not for you. She is STRONG, like too strong out of the bottle to the point where you're like, oof I don't know if I like this, but trust me; let it dry down. Two sprays walking out the door, and my entire classroom is still scented after driving 35 minutes to work, and it lasts and lasts on the skin. Literally even after showering, I can still smell this on my wrists.

It is not a shy fragrance; if you don't want people to ask "What is that?" when they're nowhere near you, this is not for you. I will say though, I don't know what is in this stuff, but it's like cocaine to guys. Every time I wore this, "Mmm, you smell good", without fail, and because of that, it can easily become a signature if you have the personality to carry it.

It still smells amazing, I still love it, I just won't wear it because it makes me want to cry. Haha.

morguerat

I had a solid of this years ago, when they came in those weird tubes that always broke. I don't know why I had it because mostly i hated it. It almost smelled to me like burning rubber, and made me feel sick. After that I decided that I hated jasmine. Recently, having developed a new taste for jasmine via Alien (on one hand) and Jasmin Et Cigarette (on the other), I decided to give it another chance and I'm obsessed. The clerk at Lush told me he'd experienced a similar change in opinion, so maybe that's a common thing? Lust is still quite intense to my nose so i can understand how it once turned my stomach but now I love how heady it is. It's sweet and floral, but not in a cute way. To my nose it's purple the way Alien is, but where Alien is sexy and bold in sophisticated way, this is down and dirty, and totally erotic. I have the solid because I can't splurge on the bottle right now, so I can only speak to that but on my skin the sillage is moderate and the scent lasts for hours.

gabardine

The origin story of my Lush addiction! I bought the solid perfume back when they came in those push-up tubes the first time I ever visited a Lush store. I sniffed the tester thinking it was a lip balm or something and was SMACKED in the face with the most intense yet wonderfully sweet floral scent imaginable. It was unlike anything I'd ever smelled before. I was in high school at the time and a few of my friends thought it was an "old lady scent" but I couldn't get enough.

I eventually upgraded to the spray perfume and have gone through 1 30ml bottle so far. It does stain everything it touches so watch where you spray it. The other reviews aren't lying, this stuff is absolute BEAST MODE. I replaced my bottle today and just to make sure it smelled the same I sampled it in the store. I had also gone to Sephora beforehand to sample some new frags on my arms and when I got in my car all I could smell was the Lust. Definitely not for the faint of heart or those who dislike jasmine.

The most prominent notes to me are the jasmine (obviously) and ylang ylang. The vanilla, rose and sandalwood blend together in the background to give it that sweet, almost creamy effect. With my skin chemistry it goes almost powdery while still retaining a modest amount of sweetness. I've worn it in all seasons, day and night without finding it cloying or weakened.

TeachOlfactoryArt

@Coriemulvey is 100% right! It’s exactly real, true, Jasmin absolute. It’s so powerful, so perfect. 1 spray lasts aaaaalllllllll day.

Coriemulvey

I bought my bottle back in 2020. At first it was way too potent for my tastes but I spent the last 2 years training my nose and I finally revisited this fragrance. It smells like straight up jasmine absolute. I’m shocked that this fragrance doesn’t cost 500 dollars. It smells like thousands and thousands of jasmine flowers put into one bottle and it lasts and lasts. When Evan Mcgregor talks about his boyfriends jockstrap in Halston, this is what I imagined it smelled like.. and I mean that most positively!! This is finally a fragrance that is worth every cent it cost. Since it smells so natural I’ve decided the best place to store it would be in my fridge and I nearly forgot about it. It sat untouched for two years! If anyone decides to pony up and buy this, I would keep it out of light and perhaps put it in your own refrigerator. If you love original Alien, you’ll probably love this. If you don’t like Alien, you might still like this. It’s definitely an experience that a frag head should not miss out on.

raeseo2000

It was the first perfume I bought for myself, and I bought the pot of this and then the 100ml, because it is deliciously sweet!
Straight up jasmine is what people instantly catch. The ylang ylang and rose is certainly there, but not sure if I get sandalwood or vanilla much. It smells more like candied florals for the most part.

CaliBlonde

This is the ultimate jasmine lover’s fragrance.
A bit much at first but really turns out beautiful and lasts forever.

Just a warning: this will stain.
Avoid light color clothes and don’t spray near anything white. My whole bathroom is white and I found red drops on my bathroom countertop… it was very hard to remove it.

ugly_sara_turns_it_hard

Natural, photorealistic jasmine, the type you smell when you pass by the actual plant on the street. Pretty strong too! If you love jasmine, this is probably your fragrance soulmate, but if you’re even slightly on the fence about it this can be a bit much. It’s a whole jasmine, with the soapiness and the dirtyness and the hypnotic headiness of it all at once. Definitely CAN cause headaches.

eelii

My taste have definitely changed overtime, because I remember smelling this in a Lush store a few years ago and finding almost nauseating. For a long time, I was sure that I hated jasmine because of this.
Then I recently realized that I often find jasmine in the new perfumes I end up liking, and decided to give Lust another try. To my big surprise, I now love the smell of this little gem and of course I decided to get it!

I went for the solid perfume because I find that the spray one is still a bit too intense for my likings and can become way overwhelming if you spray more than a little bit of it. Plus, it is known for staining clothes which I definitely prefer to avoid.

The solid perfumes is still great in performance (maybe a little bit less than the spray, but it’s also easier to reapply if needed). On my (very fragrance-absorbing) skin it stays 6+ hours and projects very well for the first 4/5 hours, before becoming more of a skin scent.

The jasmine is clearly the protagonist in this little perfume, and as others have mentioned, it’s not the typical “clean” jasmine that you can find in most perfumes, but it’s more… “pure and real”, I think.

I personally love to layer Lust with other fragrances that include jasmine to enhance this note. Sometimes my nose end up picking up only Lust and goes blind to the other fragrances after half an hour or even less, but I honestly don’t mind that much because I love Lust so much.

If you tried this and hate it, but you normally like jasmine, I highly suggest waiting some time and then go back to try the solid version as it is less pungent and intense. Maybe you’ll be surprised like me of how much you end up loving it!

EDIT: Changing this from a “love” to a “like” because I’m again in one of those phases where I’m not that obsessed with it and definitely not craving it at all… But I’m sure sooner or later I’ll get back to it and I’ll love it again.

Colchiques

Solid jasmine. Not the white one. The dirty one and that’s why I love it so much. It’s kind of soapy too. The name is spot on for me. It’s a carnal flower !

Subhuman

If you're a jasmine lover (of any gender) and you haven't smelled Lust, I don't know why you're still reading this and not hot-footing it to the mall. This is not a ladies-who-lunch jasmine (Joy), or a "boss bitch" jasmine (No. 5, Nomade), or a jasmine that's been power-washed and dipped in caramel (Alien). This is jasmine with the velvet gloves off, balanced by just enough sandalwood and dry vanilla to keep the diva's arms inside the vehicle. Silky, authentic, indolic, narcotic. The spray version is almost too heady for me, but the solid is perfect. Wearing it feels like seeing the world through red Gucci sunglasses and a haze of summer languor. Sexy, yes, but mostly just stunning.

smellworthy

Dirty, skanky, sexy, dumb, witchy jasmine. Ripped fishnet tights, wooden bead jewelry, smudged eyeliner, Fleetwood Mac vinyl. I'm in love.

Kamaqt99

Jasmine x 10^100

gstringinabottle

This is my signature.. from the first time I smelled it .. it gives me a pleasure that I can't explain.. I own over 439 bottles of perfume and by far this is the one I crave.. I cannot get enough.. no poop . No bad breath.. just pure bliss straight from heaven .. powerhouse beast mode panty dropper 💯💯💯💯💯✅✅✅✅

ohcontraire

This is a strange one for me, I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with this fragrance and for many years thought i didn't like jasmine in fragrance because of Lust, where it absolutely dominates with heavy, heady, dirty, indolic jasmine and a strong honey note. This is not your bright & clean, soapy jasmine. For three weeks out of the month it's genuinely offensive to me, it turns my stomach and literally makes me gag, I have to leave the room if someone's wearing it - it's right up there with my all-time most hated fragrances. But then some weird hormonal magic happens and for the other week I CANNOT get enough of it. I've never had such an obviously hormonal reaction to a smell before (or since actually, would love to know if other people have experienced anything similar) - very strange but it did teach me to not rush to conclusions.

When I like it, it's warm, sexual, intoxicating and incredibly moreish, makes me think of hot summer nights (night blooming jasmine) and honey drizzled onto sweaty skin. When I don't, it's intensely headachey, cloying and poopy - this is what i think of when i think "indolic".
Either way it's an absolute powerhouse, potent and long lasting - one singular spray will fill every room you walk into and stay with you all day. Definitely not office safe!

I have a full, 30ml vintage (2013) bottle if anyone's interested, I bought it for that one week in the month when I love it but it's just SO STRONG that even then I can't wear it, I should have gone for the solid perfume instead i think :(

Moukka

I'm not fan of white florals, but this was instant love. Deep and creamy Jasmine, narcotic. That's the way I like Jasmine scents. I haven't tested Alien yet, but I have high expecations.

Konga5000

(2 year old bottle) This is a power-hitter. I can smell it all day long with 4 to 6 sprays. If I spray a garment in my bedroom - it will fill the (small) bedroom for a number of hours. This is a HOT brutal Jasmine that does it's job. Do not expect a "pretty" perfume in this -- it's stripped down and ready for ACTION. Attention All Men: If you want to branch out with a "non femmy" floral and you are sick and tired of "guy colognes" with their woods and greens: TRY THIS at the mall next time you go.
LUST is a "universal" fragrance with a heady bite. This is probably LUSH's oldest and best loved perfume. Be on the look out for : LUSH's Flying Fox body spray if it ever returns (it was basically LUST in body spray form , for $39.99. It was STRONG and the bottle is big -- so even as a "daily dumb grab" it lasted me OVER a year!) . Ladies : if the new versions of ALIEN are not as great as they used to be : BUY THIS instead. As always , Thank Me Later .

Charli3

I never want to upset people by trashing their perfumes, obviously some people love lust since it sells great and gets recommended often. But for me the jasmine is far too indolic, and as some other reviews have said can almost smell, well, poopy? That kinda disappears a few hours in but that’s simply to long for me to bear

libraangel98

This has quite a unique smell to me! Unfortunately, I don't love it as much as I hoped I would have - maybe a bit mature for my taste?

Jasmine7

Did this get reformulated?? I just bought another bottle and it smells like candy now. Sexier and cheaper.

Rober7a

This is INTENSE!! ONE tiny spray is all you need, NO MORE!! Oversprayed it will annihilate your nose, give you a headache and make the air around you flammable, because this is so concentrated it no longer smells like jasmine, it literally smells like gasoline. Literally. I feel like I could easily pour this into my car instead of regular petrol and it would run fine. Noone warned me of it's nuclear power when I first tested it, so it took around 6h before I could finally smell the dirty jasmine fighting for attention with ylang-ylang. Even though it's obviously synthetic, it smells really natural. And I appreciate the enormous sillage and lasting power of this since these days so many frags lack that. My nose was tired at first, but when I got outside I really did enjoy whiffs of raw jasmine mixed with cold fresh air. So I might get this after all and use VERY sparingly. I still have many jasmines on my "to test" list, but this is quite unique. But why is the juice red? Jasmines are white, and if they added colorants to this to match 'lust' vibe it's not listed in ingredients.

babypoison

im a huge fan of jasmin n when i see it being described as a dupe of tf jasmin rogue i almost blind bought it. thank god i smelt in the store n didnt !! this is not a dupe at all, i dont hate it, but its definitely a no go for me. lush describes it perfectly as a "dirty" jasmine. its not classy and does smell a little skanky.
p.s. this will stain your clothes to red. be cautious while spraying

adaloza

I bought this blind simply because the gamble was worth the entertainment, given the polarizing reviews!

It cannot be said enough that this fragrance is highly concentrated. My guess is that many of the negative reviews came from a healthy sized spray, or worse, more than one. It is most definitely a scent that could absolutely nauseate you. I handle this one like nitroglycerin, as if more than a tiny spritz will set my entire house aflame.

But having said all of that, this is my favorite scent in the world plucked right out of the air and bottled. It smells like pure, unadulterated jasmine. Not a fragrance made in a factory, but the actual smell of jasmine plants (similarly, orange blossoms) in the air. This scent lasts on me for about three to four hours before it relaxes into the ylang ylang and vanilla, which is much more subdued.

I was initially skeptical of the claim that this smells “sexy,” since I figured that is pretty subjective. But once I put it on, I understood why. If you live in an area where jasmine or other white blossoms are prevalent, this is very firmly the smell of dusk in late spring/early summer when the weather is warming up enough to go cause mischief at night. I’m unsure if it would have the same effect for people who live in areas where other scents are more connected with this very specific time and feeling, but for those who recognize it, it’s unmistakable. Re: being sexy, this fragrance is “if you know, you know” in liquid form.

If you love the actual real world scent of white blossoms, I don’t think you can really go wrong with Lust. The concentration requires it to be handled with care, but the scent itself is one that I’m amazed could even be recreated short of just dropping some jasmine seeds into the ground.

Khelish

I love jasmine. Or at least I thought I did. I took one whiff of this and it felt like I had walked straight into a brick wall. I’m not so easily discouraged though, so I took another sniff and I literally gagged. Literally. It was a purely physical, involuntary reaction. I kept thinking to myself, “But I love jasmine!” But my stomach turned and I swear I started sweating.

I kept trying sniffs of the tester strip and eventually I had to give up because I was getting queasy. There’s nothing delicate about this scent, and I couldn’t sniff long enough to pick out notes. I’ve never had this kind of reaction to a scent before. I wish I could say I wore it for a while and gave it a fair shake but I genuinely can’t. This is not for the faint of heart. Again, I love jasmine, but this is not a safe blind buy and I’m glad I went to lush to test it first.

octobersun

I like to wear it for myself, because I find it invigorating and uplifting. Sometimes I just need this huge jasmin.

vanillaorchid

I didn't find this repulsive at all, but it's not exactly alluring either. The brand itself calls it a "dirty" jasmine, but it's actually quite bright and clear, however green, and lacks the warm heart that I typically enjoy in jasmine-heavy perfumes. Will have to return to it in the future for a better reference but my first encounter with Lust was just... ok.

okamikiera

This smells like vinyl!! One of my few 'hate' votes, the plastic opening is too repulsive for me to stomach. For the record I absolutely love strong jasmine scents like Le Maroc Pour Elle and Jasmine Antique, and use the essential oil as well, but this perfume is completely unlike those.

Tolkashutka

I thought that since I loved ole' dark red vintage Alien, that I could handle an even darker red vintage Lush Lust. I was wrong. I tried it twice, and was promptly metaphorically assaulted each time.

If you need a reference point for "what on earth does 'indolic' mean?", I'm pretty sure the picture that should come up next that search query is a smiling devilish lady on Lust's Label. It is the most jasminey jasmine to jasmine the planet and I guess I am just a weenie.

It is feisty, ferocious, takes absolutely no prisoners, will stain the ever loving bajeezus out of your light colored shirts if you give it the chance, and it is no longer in my life. Learn from my mistakes--this is the most unsafe blind buy in the history of blind buys. Sample first, fellow nutjobs.

Deuces, ya crazy broad. My hoe turned housewife Alien and I both bid you adieu.

vlrtualboy

Carnal, truly HORNY, overripe fruit. Really tart jasmine note... OBSESSED! Clerk at Lush said that every time she sees someone leave with it she thinks "they're about to go ruin some lives."

fformoso88

No… omg! Absolutely not!!! I tried this on in the store and at first I smelled it and it smelled terrible!!! I usually love jasmine fragrances but this was so indolic it literally just smelled like crap. I let my coworkers smell it and they told me to wash it off because it was so nasty it made them gag! I kept trying to wait for it to get better and it did not. Definitely a scrubber for me. Never again!
