I have a brand new full bottle of ROJA Dove Elysium parfum that I’m willing to trade for a bottle of ROJA Lilac. I blind bought Elysium and it’s just not for me. But I love Lilacs and would love Lilac perfume. Message me if you want to trade. Thanks

Sublime. My favorite lilac until now was a soliflore I bought from Crabtree & Evelyn when I was 15. I emptied 3 bottles of it. It has a special place in my heart because I wore it when I was with my high school sweetheart. It was a pure, rich lilac scent that smelled as though it was aged. Once it was discontinued, I did enjoy Pacifica's Lilac a lot, but it wasn't quite as good. I also bought En Passant, but I sold it later because it smelled too synthetic and translucent in comparison (it's beautiful in its own way).
For the record, purple lilacs bloom on my family land each year. I am very familiar with the scent of purple lilacs. My cousin, who is even more familiar, swears that En Passant smells more like white lilacs. That, I would not know. I have not really smelled white ones.
I had been wanting a lilac perfume for a long time. I wanted that pure, voluptuous lilac fragrance, but I wanted to find something with a bit more dimension than ye ole Crabtree & Evelyn. I am 40 now. Highschool was a long time ago. I wanted a lilac that would bring back memories but would represent the woman I am today. Maybe something that even smelled a little vintage. Something more fancy than Crabtree & Evelyn, to make me feel spoiled. Something with other florals to create a fuller fragrance. Something with all these qualities that would not obscure the scent of lilacs.
Enter Roja's Lilac. I had the opportunity to buy a gently used bottle from a fellow fumehead, so I took my chance with a blind-buy. Still can't believe I did that! Roja's Lilac is everything I dreamed of. It smells almost identical to my Crabtree & Evelyn lilac with regard to purity of the lilac scent as well as the rich quality of the lilac. I smell the oakmoss and orris, giving it that plush, vintage edge I wanted, rather than watery cucumbers, you know? There are other florals in there, but instead of detracting from the lilac, they enhance it, add complexity, and most importantly remain in the background.
This extraît lasts a solid 12 hours on my skin, with very soft projection. Very lovely. Lilac should never be cloying nor overbearing. I had been thinking that for my own perfume house, House of Gray, I would create my perfect lilac fragrance, but I won't need to now because Roja nailed it.

It's a beautiful scent. No doubt about it. My personal issue is lack of longevity. 4hrs max in my testing.

This is the first Roja Dove fragrance I have tried.
This smells so much like a florist shop, it's uncanny.
RD Lilac (to me) is an ideal bridal fragrance; it is a lovely bouquet of white flowers, which are so well-blended that no one dominates the others.
I was expecting a balsamic drydown; but all I can smell are flowers-flowers-flowers - this is not a criticism, because I think this is a very beautiful perfume.
Sillage is soft and longevity... Well, for this price I expect more - on my skin (which is admittedly very dry), this almost creeps into four hours. I haven't tested on cloth.

I was kinda disappointed with this fragrance. Simply put, I expected much more when I researched the notes as all I got was a slightly spicy, linear, one note scent. How could this be? It's a extrait. Isn't that supposed to be stronger?
It was my first time sampling Roja Dove and I can't say that I'm rushing to sample more. Although I should not let this one fragrance stop me from trying more.
I'm just thankful that I hadn't spent mega buck's on a big bottle of this stuff.
