I came across a pen spray of this fragrance and decided to give it a try. I have never tried any others in this range but have had good luck with Valentino fragrance in general. The notes look so promising, this smelled nothing like I expected. Sadly this one was a pretty big disappointment. It opens with a huge blast of alcohol that never seems to go away. This leads to the fragrance being quite harsh and astringent. I don't get any of the warmer note in this fragrance. No myrrh, vanilla or cinnamon, not really even any peach. I see that it has a few ratings as smelling similar to Light Blue. I can see that, but only if you are comparing it to a dollar store knock off of Light Blue.

I have found the performance is quite poor and I was thankful for that because this would have been a scrubber otherwise. It stayed very close to the skin right from the start and disappeared from my skin completely about an hour later. I didn't dare try overspraying because it was so unpleasant to start with. I was worried it would be headache inducing.

My dislike of Rock 'n Dreams means I will not be looking for a full bottle, I assume it is discontinued anyway, since I haven't seen it in any stores in the last few years. I don't imagine I will even bother keeping the travel spray I have.

My first and best blind buy ever. I bought this 2 years ago on an online sale where the price was super low and so I picked this one up without even trying. Just liked the notes and ordered. This is airy, light and totally an inoffensive perfume that feels like somewhat scented shampoo. Myrrh note in it is my favorite and I prefer it most in fall. This feels like Eclat d’Arpege twin but with the prominent delicious peach aroma in it. Longevity is long lasting but silage is moderate and projection is very light. I love to wear it immediately after the shower and laze around the house mostly. The addictive, soft yet tempting vibes from it lingers well into skin. The intensity and longevity for this got double for me as I layered it with moisturizer on my skin and sprayed on clothes too. Few people have even complimented me for this nice, bright and sensuous scent. Stunning beauty to add to shelf surely. Recommended!

This is a weird one for my nose. After the alcohol evaporates, there are two scents noticeable: one around me (a gorgeous, powdery iris and peach), and one on my skin (a synthetic scent which I'm unable to place). It has a pretty good lasting power for the type of scent it is, and like others I have to agree it reminds me of a more peachy and spicy Eclat d'Arpège (one of my top ten favourites ever). After the middle notes, all that lingers is a soft, subtle vanilla scent with woody undertones, but not in a sweet way. I like it, it's a great perfume to wear during spring and summer, and is quite elegant as well.

Big fail. Started out promisingly, but very quickly turned into Light Blue, which I hate. Couldn't get it into the trash fast enough. It took forever to get the smell off me!!

Crystals On My Converse

Has this bee discontinued? Haven't seen it anywhere in like forever!!

I love this one!! I usually wear it a lot during the fall. I love the myrrh note in it, it reminds me of this time of the year... burning myrrh and copal resin/incense around day of the dead time..
Need to find some more perfumes with those notes in them, although this one does just fine, but it can wear off quickly.

Orsyna

Very interesting I want this parfume.Maybe I will buy it once.it's on my wishlist because it looks like special.

ogida

its been on my arm now for over 8 hrs. i would say its quite heavy so becareful how you use it. its an interesting perfume.

Tennage perfume..

Kitty Noire

Bought it unsniffed and it's not a bad perfume, it's a bit too light for me and ended up giving it away to my sister, who really loves it.

Anastasia Mardo

ithink this perfume is good for a 15 years old girl because its romantic n so light and its give hope or maybe its fine for spring days bt its lasting power is very weak ..

Habanita

The variations of Rock'n'Rose were quite close to the original. This one was a bit more romantic. Here Valentino's Rock'n'Rose bottles and all variations are on sale too. It seems like they have been discontinued.

juliebritto

it does smell nice, very light. the problem is the staying power: this thing just doesn't last at all, at least on me.

valentino on sale ! wow. i'm really jelous about the prices you find in usa :( in europe when it's on sale you pay double, regular 4x or even more... :(

Wynter

I found this on sale for $22, so I couldn't resist buying it unsniffed. I wore it today for the first time, and it is light, airy, and inoffensive. It's pretty, although it reminds me slightly of a scented shampoo. Considering I bought it on clearance, I will happily wear Rock 'n Dreams. But considering the brand and normal retail price, I'd expect a less generic scent.

this is indeed a Eclat d'Arpège twin whit a prominent delicious peach aroma, while Eclat d'Arpège has more lilac aroma. powdery heliotrope and light, airy wearing sensation... the myrrh i can t distinct that mutch from the drydown of Eclat d'Arpège. for me both are quite identical in the drydown.

lasting power is there but very close to the skin. i like it very mutch to treat myself asfter having shower and do a lazy evening on the sofa. it's so soft, addictive and tempting.
i'm wearing it now since 5 hours and it's still detectable near the skin. sillage lingering well!

add. note: I layered it today with the bodycream to tune up the intensity. it works! i do not notice that mutch on myself but by walking or moving i catch sometimes some beautiful whiffs coming from me (hurray!) and people commented how nice it is! a winner! perfect for those early spring days, would also suit for a sunny day in winter about the 'cool, powdery, yet creamy white sensation'. love it!

plz have a look on those beautiful bottles - (bodymilk also gorgeous). just stunning!!!

I'm not gonna describe this and will just go forward and say my opinion - it smells of myrrh, and something gently and airy - floral blend. A bit like Eclat d'Arpege. + Myrrh.

Rock’n’Dreams is super light and airy fragrance. I like peach melon notes in the beginning but then the composition turns extremely light with cool orris and touch of woods. I love myrrh notes in the perfumes but they are barely detectable here like sky76sky already mentioned in the review below. Overall this scent remains soft peachy and very light. I have eau de perfume but it feels more like a light body mist.

I wore it today to work on a casual Friday day and it was fine and pleasant while it lasted. It pretty much disappeared in 4 hours. When I buy eau de perfume I do prefer more sillage and better staying power.

LOVE IT .. LOVE IT .. LOVE IT ...!!! Good job Valentino..!!

melanie

Top notes are very pleasant, but not dry down as I had expected, I would like to be constantly at the beginning. Good choice for a dreamy girl...however, this is a pleasant scent in a lovely bottle. The fragrance seems good throughout the day, but for the evening still prefer more expressive perfumes.

COSMICSCENTS

Very light fragrance, I can barely smell it, I was expecting a creamer version of rock n´rose,oh well.

sky76sky

Very dream-like & translucent, an airy fruity-floral rose-esque fragrance, delicate, thin & light....so much so, that the first time I tested it I could hardly smell it at all!

On second testing I am aware of the high sweetness balanced by the sour edge, & the synthetic aspects of this fragrance...but they do not bother me greatly (unlike Diesel Fuel4life). I am a little disappointed by the lack of myrrh as I know it (sugar-weak-myrrhesque-haze only). The peach is ever-present, there is a warmth & softness to it, but the overall feel is of cool florals & a sweet juicy yellow fruit.

My impression is a bit of a hedge-sitter: an unimpressive yet pleasant, wearable, girly scent...sheer & watery....a sugar-frosted, sour, fruity "rose". Not my kind of scent, but would suit sweet young things of body or mind.

tommy_girl

despite some reviewers,I like this one more than the other versions, though still my favorite Valentino series are V.
by the way I had a bad time trying rock N rose and rock N rose couture, saince they were almost transparent and I didn't smell anything but some soft and mild flowers.
but here something exists.it's a bit fruity and less floral.I think it was a smart idea to put peach in it.it has became soft, feminine and fresh.
I've found out that perfumes with transparent bottles attract my nose better and here again,I saw I like rock N dreams more than the other ones.

kevaana

Like everybody else I was anxious to try it. And I was...disappointed, really disappointed.

Couple of month ago I have written a bitter review regarding Notorious(Ralph Lauren)fragrance. I retract all my words regading that fragrance..it is not the worse sour fragrance I have ever smelled..Rock'n Dreams is the ultimate sour synthetic fragrance I have ever smelled(until now).

It is sad to see that fragrance industry becomes the new "fast food" industry.

All the manufacturers want a lot of fragrances in a very fast time. They use cheap materials, cheap ideas and they want...to be appreciated as couture olfactory designers.

The sad part is the fact that many mass-market brands create better fragrances than top market brands.Pity

But I am a dreamer...and hope these things will change.

I was really looking forward to trying this one, since I loved Rock 'n Rose and Rock 'n Dreams but to me it's just more of the same. I think it's a nice scent but not very special or outstanding.

vendetta

I like the ad, too! I've read that the Model is Siri Tollerød.
I'm really looking forward trying it, the notes it features sound great :)

(notes of myrrhone (a Firmenich molecule derived from myrrh and iris), peach, cinnamon, woods and vanilla)
