Flowerbomb by Viktor&Rolf is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Flowerbomb was launched in 2005. Flowerbomb was created by Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaim, Domitille Michalon Bertier and Dominique Ropion. Top notes are Tea, Bergamot and Osmanthus; middle notes are Orchid, Jasmine, Rose, Freesia and African Orange Flower; base notes are Patchouli, Musk and Vanilla. This perfume is the winner of award FiFi Award Best National Advertising Campaign / Print 2006.

An explosive bouquet of fresh and sweet notes arrives with perfume Flowerbomb, designed by Olivier Polge, Carlos Benaim and Domitille Berthier.

It was introduced in 2005, as an oriental perfume.

Top notes tingle with fresh and sweet accords of bergamot and green tea.

A heart is floral and opulent with intensive, sweet and pure Sambac jasmine, seductive Centifolia rose, freesia and Cattleya orchid. Musk and patchouli in a base wrap us with an oriental scent, while its milky and powdery notes gently fondle our skin.

The bottle was designed by Fabien Baron, in shape of diamond-granate, alluding at the fragrance itself, since it is so explosive, sophisticated and glamorous. It was introduced at the 10th anniversary of Viktor&Rolf house’s work. It is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml EDP and EDT.

It took me a long time to try Flowerbomb. I was hesitant due to the notes and due to its popularity. But one day, my husband surprised me and gifted this to me. He said out of all the perfumes he smelled at the store, he loves this one the most. So I decided to give it a try... and WOW. I know it's a classic, and some people call it basic, but this perfume is GORGEOUS. Everything is blended so well. It smells sophisticated and it's almost addicting. I get pretty good longevity out of it too (around 4-6 hours), and I carry a travel size with me to refresh with because I love smelling it that much. Love love love. Sad I didn't try it sooner! XD

This was the second perfume given to me by my momma. Fell in love with it. Definitely not flower based, on my skin it's warm patchouli, and very sweet. But not in a sugary way, so I suppose the florals are somewhere in there. Definitely important to try it on your skin, on some people it smells off. I can see why it's so popular— it's cozy and inviting, as well as feminine. On clothes it lasts for weeks (smell gets less potent over time), on me it lasts for a full day and settles into a skin scent at night.

alexisx

A shower of citrus fruits that in the long run mixes with an earthy scent that emerges as time passes. Then some unspecified flowers arrive. The scent remains fresh, sour, suitable for spring even if it could be at its best in summer. It has a certain simplicity that makes it suitable for all noses, but this is not a strong point. It's bland, no bomb here, it remains light but enveloping and engaging. It has that aspect of a sparkling, jovial and youthful perfume, without exaggeration, without praise and without infamy, short sillage and longevity. Move on without regrets

Vnp322

This smells soooooo good! A beautiful gourmand flower ! It's so strong though, which I love, but it can be a bit headache inducing but as long as you spray very little you'll be cool. This laaaaaast, the sillage is so good on this too! I can see why this is loved!! A absolute love for me <3333333

elenagr22

This is for children! Overly sweet and completely juvenile scent

i want to eat this for some reason

i kept trying to like this. when i first heard of this, i thought finally someone is making a perfume with just flower scents. then i smelled it on me and disliked it immediately. it’s a bomb alright, but not a flower bomb. it’s the tea scent i dont like. i used to wear tommy girl in the 90s and wore it for years. i got so sick of it and i think it ruined me on this type of tea note. and of course it projects and lasts. so, it’s good if you like it. isnt that a duh thing to say. i mean it’s a good perfume if you like the scent because it projects and lasts and the bottle is nice too. it’s a well made perfume at a higher price.

Norasjisic

This is my spring fragrance 💕 so sugary and sweet not overpowering floral and kind of reminds me of those squishes that became illegal 😭 does anyone remember?

Zeddyteddy

I like flowerbomb a lot but it’s missing good sillage. I also feel it is overpriced because it just does not last on me - or perhaps I am anosmic to this scent. I bypassed this for a long time and didn’t know what it smelt like, therefore I haven’t experienced the hype of smelling it everywhere on other people. I am not sure how it smells on others, or if it lasts on them. It is an easy reach day time scent for me. I enjoy but there are other fragrances I’d rather spend that amount of cash on, especially ones I don’t need to top up on.

Milleregretz

I got this in highschool and 13 years later it still goes dummy. A unique girly but musky floral. Its only negative is its popularity but I love smelling it on someone walking by (usually a tween at the mall).

Where to wear: in a size 2 BCBG dress at your highschool graduation

baka.tenshi

Flowerbomb has been my favorite for years! I love it so much.

hannahbrooke

I finally caved and bought it, it is a delicious explosion of warm florals. I am not usually a floral fragrance girl, but this one takes the cake 🍰 So musky and also delicate, yummy, satisfying! Perfect for everyday or a night out. 🌸 VERY feminine. It’s young and mature at the same time, very classy but also fun

summervanilla

I did not like this scent for a really long time. I don't even remember why and what my impression of it was. I smelled it when I wasn't very knowledgeable about fragrance, then avoided it as I learned more because I thought I disliked it. I tried it once or twice and it didn't agree with my body chemistry and my nose at all. It gave me a headache and didn't smell nice on my skin. But I still had the sample, and I have been trying to use up all my samples, so I gave it another try. I don't know why, but suddenly I kind of like it. It smells really sweet on my skin. I would agree with everybody who says it isn't very floral. It's like flowers drenched in honey and covered in sugar. I get the similarities with La Vie Est Belle, but they aren't quite the same. Maybe Flowerbomb is her sister, I can't say who is older and more mature. I realize now that I have a few random, cheap perfumes that are dupes or clones of Flowerbomb. While I find I suddenly like this fragrance, I do like the dupes I have better for one reason or another. This would probably be a safe blind buy despite my experience. It would make a really good first fragrance for a young lady or anybody who is interested in sweet, feminine leaning fragrances.

Ruthmarie0

Flowerbomb, una fragancia delicada y femenina, ideal para ambientes cerrados como oficinas o reuniones familiares. Notas frescas de flores blancas y un toque cálido de vainilla. 🌸🌼

laviegourmand

Meh. Not sure I get the hype on this one. It's a beautiful floral, but there are so many excellent quality dupes out there I don't think it's worth it at full price. I keep it around because my husband loves it, and I don't dislike it, but it's not my favorite and I wouldn't get another once I use up my current mini bottle.

youmeoui

I don't care how basic it makes me, I ADORE this perfume. Always have, always will. There's a reason this is so well loved, it is a timeless classic. Exquisite. A true masterpiece.

SmellGood_Chi

I really wanted to love Flowerbomb...and I just don't. It's a dud. Reeks of old lady in St. John. That is to say, it's classy but dated. The floral descends into something reminiscent of bug spray on me. Is it the tea? The bergamot? The freesia? I don't know but it just doesn't work. Even in trying to layer it with other fragrances it just does nothing for me. Deeply underwhelming and not a compliment-getter. I bought it in a flash sale from Macy's so I'm very glad I didn't spend a lot of money on it but I've spent a few months spritzing her and I just can't. I'm interested in trying some of the flankers to see if they're any better but this OG version is really stale and boring.

velvetmist80

I first smelled it on my friend, Perla, and it was absolutely intoxicating 💐🪄✨️; I HAD to buy a bottle!! Well, on initial spray, the air was filled with an explosion of fresh and sweet notes that had me swooning. 🥰 The opulent bouquet was soooo good! 😍 However, on MY skin, it started to take a turn. 😐 It became way too musky for my liking, and the patchouli + my body chemistry didn't mix well. 🤢 Straight from the bottle, it smells absolutely fantastic! 🥰 But on ME, it veers towards dirty and gross. 😆🙈 So, while Flowerbomb might not be my personal cup of tea, I can definitely see why it has its devoted fans. On certain people, it's a fragrance that demands attention and leaves a lasting impression! 💐💣💥✨️ Just make sure you test it on your own skin before committing! 🥰

B4bynel

I wanted to like this so bad. Maybe it's my body chemistry but it smells like wet grass on me. I do smell the sweet florals, I just wished the wet grass scent could disappear :/

HippyDippy57

It's not a wonder that Flowerbomb endures as a popular scent. It is an all enveloping cloud of floral gorgeousness, but not an old-fashioned floral. A more cool and elegant take on a floral perfume. It is so well blended that no note stands out, but they all combine to glorious effect. I sprayed myself and clothes this morning, and 9 hrs later I can still detect it. Once this bottle is finished, I will repurchase as I would miss it if I didn't.

Chef Loreal

Perfume lady in the store sold me on this one. I didn’t LOVE it in the store but thought it might be good for a professional
Setting like my job. I bought up a huge bottle which happened to come with a ton of free stuff bc it was Black Friday. My bestie lovesssss this scent. On my it smells like the most powdery musty grandma perfume. Ended up giving it away to me bestie. My loss her gain. I kept a small travel atomizer to see how it matures of the years. I def don’t get the hype but it’s probably just my skin chemistry.

slmbrkty

A decent, easy to wear, non-offensive floral. I enjoy the scent, but Flowerbomb feels the same as so many other floral fragrances for a way higher price tag. I do not personally find anything profound about this scent or formula. The tea, rose, and jasmine are prominent upon first application, and then it settles into a nice spring day with a blanket of musk underneath. Longevity and sillage are moderate-high; lasts about 4 hours on my skin, a little longer on clothes, and it has a nice sillage that radiates just enough from the body. I would give it a 6.5/10, maybe a 7.5 if the price point was lower. I don't hate this, but I am not head over heels for Flowerbomb. I do not plan on purchasing a full bottle, but it's a good fragrance to keep a vial of when you're in the mood for it.

lavieenrose1987

As I’m still new on my fragrance journey, I asked a more knowledgeable acquaintance for recommendations. After listing off a few currently popular choices and some niche fragrances, she then giggled and said, “or, if you want to be basic millennial, you can get Flowerbomb.” Honestly, that right there confirmed that I needed to get my hands on at least a sample.

While I get that the fragrance industry is just as bad as fast fashion when it comes to a constant stream of new releases and trends, things that are labelled “basic” are popular for a reason. This is a smooth blend of floral and patchouli with some spice on top which gives it a unique kick. I’m not big into super girly and photorealistic florals, so this is a fantastic alternative for someone who wants something feminine with a twist. It’s a fragrance that resonates better with women in my opinion, so if that matters to you, this is your girl.

If this is what qualifies as “basic”, then call me basic. I notice that Baccarat Rouge 540 is already falling from grace into that category, so don’t worry. Whatever your current it girl fragrance is, it and you will be framed as “basic” soon enough, then "grandma" in a couple decades from now. I look forward to the day that “basic” and “grandma” stop being used as descriptors for scents that have historic popularity.

risarii

I avoided this fragrance for a long time because of its annoying popularity, as I think a lot of people did. Now that it’s seemingly less ubiquitous (despite being sold at Sephora, I guess many girls have moved onto Black Opium which now seems to be the ubiquitous it girl) I decided to smell it. And I must say, it was quite good. Very good, even. Possibly great but I’ll wait to say that until I smell it again.

I think the tea and osmanthus keeps it from being too generic gourmand/fruitchouli (a la LVEB). It’s well-composed, high quality and sort of hyper feminine (though maybe I’m just being influenced by the adorable bottle). I never thought I’d want to own a bottle but here I am, considering buying a bottle.

Excellent throw and longevity.

PhantomBelle

I sampled this back in 2014 and I enjoyed it enough to buy a travel size. That little sprayer lasted me around 8 years before it was so macerated and condensed I just couldn't stand it anymore. This one is a beast-mode to me, and it lasts and projects very well. The notes are pretty much spot on, you do indeed get a lot of florals and a lot of patchouli/vanilla. I am really hoping the Tiger Lilly flanker is more calm, I want to like V&R, I really do, but they are very powerful scents.

Proceed with caution.

Purchased way back when from Nordstrom.

Larrynori1

Flowerbomb is my new signature scent and I can't believe it took me this long to find it. The combination of the floral and warm base notes of vanilla and patchouli make for the perfect balance and it's both sexy and comforting. It's also not too strong or overpowering, which I like, so I can wear it to work and school without worrying that it might bother people. I am absolutely obsessed with the way I smell now and always catch myself sniffing my wrist at any chance I get. My confidence has also definitely skyrocketed because there's no better compliment to a woman that "you smell SO good"!

thaochipnd

I don't even see this as a floral scent, let alone a “Flowerbomb” like its name suggests. This was a mild disappointment.

Rating: 7/10

sweetflorallove

I don’t get the hype with this fragrance. I tested it today at Sephora and thought it smelled kind of gross, honestly. I wish I could better describe why but I just didn’t like this at all.

moon-lake-nymph

Ohh.. <3 Girly, feminine, free-spirited chocolate.
Sweet, sugary, and precious.
Less floral to my nose, leans MUCH more gourmand.
Not a scent for a professional / corporate environment.
I feel like a big pink blossom. Like a tiny, magical flower fairy eating a delicious box of chocolates.
Quietly happy, youthful, serene.

nisarsarah9

A sweet, floral affair. Smells really elegant. Perfect for any occasion.

yukikiki

A sweet, floral, tea fragrance. The patchouli is present but not overwhelming. It's extremely well blended and I can't pick out where the sweetness might be coming from except maybe the vanilla orchid. Nowadays not groundbreaking but beautiful nonetheless.

Have not smelled anything similar to it, and disagree with the votes in the "reminds me of" section that it's similar to LVEB. LVEB is more lipsticky and more iris based.

I'm not sure if it's weak or if I go noseblind to it, but it seems to become faint rather quickly. I don't love this fragrance since I don't gravitate towards tea notes, so I don't think I'll repurchase a full bottle. But I will have a travel spray around. I've never smelled it back in the day and have no scent memories or nostalgia attached to the scent. It also doesn't smell outdated.

Not work appropriate in my opinion. But great for a signature, date nights, and day to day wear. Too sweet for summer imo.

Wonderfully made fragrance. Worth sampling.

I was introduced to Flowerbomb through a dupe back in 2012 (though I didn't know it was a dupe at the time). I was perusing the perfumes at a Zara in El Salvador, and Black Peony struck me. It was a little dark and fruity, warm and sensual and maybe a touch loud (although keep in mind, I was wearing it in blistering heat with no air conditioning). I kept the bottle for years and eventually it went rancid.
Now I'm testing Flowerbomb, and there's just something about it that smells so...right. I didn't know it back in the early 2000s, so I don't have those "dear God, it's everywhere" associations. To me, it smells like--hear me out--lilac-colored chocolate. Not lilacs, but the color lilac and soft chocolaty nuances. I know I'm not the only person who struggles to describe a perfume that really touches them, but that's what I get. In absolutely the best way. It blends into my skin, easy on the nose. I may just be a typical 2000s girl, but I love it.

vowsandperfumes

This is lovely! I don't think it's anything really groundbreaking nowadays but it's really a safe, soft, sweet floral creamy fragance. Very feminine. I wouldn't mind having a full size of this because it's really an all occasion crowd pleaser and an easy reach - I wouldn't compare this to La Vie Est Belle because it's not nearly as overly sweet and cloying. I find it slightly more mature than LVEB. It has a moderate sillage and I find it has low to moderate lasting power - though after a while I may tire a bit of the sweetness because I don't often reach for sweet perfumes but I promise it's nothing cloying. I especially like the patchouli and sweet, flowery, warm vanilla in this.

katjaeinga

The new Ralph Lauren pony 2 perfume for basic girls. Sweet and youthful.

vanilllabitch

so yummy i want to eat it

embuggle

Am I being grandiose if I say this is symphonic? Each note is cooperating with the rest, and nothing feels out of place here. Patchouli is far from my favorite smell. In fact, I used to avoid buying any fragrance if I saw patchouli in the notes. This perfume single-handedly changed my mind. Overall, it's a general people-pleaser while still being complex and interesting and alluring. Sweet, but not too sweet. Feminine, but not juvenile. There's a reason Flowerbomb has been popular for so long.

Arcticmanatee

Lovely sweet floral fruity opening. Well blended. It’s hard to pick individual notes out. Really a very nice fragrance. But it did not last long enough on me. I only got about 2-3 hours. I found a travel size splash bottle at Burlington for pretty cheap so I bought it. I really like this. I’ll see how it’s lasts as I wear it more.

dinkleheit

This is a perfume that I think will serve as my go-to when I am not sure what to wear. It's perfect for intimate settings where you know you won't offend any noses because it's just one of those scents that is mass appealing. I think that is quite rare, too! Love it and is a good part of my collection now. I will just call it my black little dress of perfumes! Not the flashiest of my perfumes, but versatile and elegant.

Harley522

Old but good. This would never go out of style. Forever young, pink gentle cloud full of sugary flowers 🌸

Maya lilac

Flowerbomb was a love of mine since the end of 2000’s when it was released. I remember smelling it back in the days and feeling mind blown, no exaggeration… At some point in my life, all I wanted to wear was Flowerbomb and La Vie est Belle. These two were my favourite perfumes for about a decade…

Flowerbomb is a very feminine, sensual, big bouquet of flowers, sweet vanilla based that has a prominent patchouli note. What made this particular scent so appealing to my nose was the juxtaposition of green tea, osmanthus and patchouli. I still love it very much! It does something to me in a way that I can’t explain…

I like that it’s an airy, clean, sweet floral, with fresh citruses on top but also has a strong, warm, heavy base to counterbalance the composition. It’s so well done and so addictive and lasts for days on clothing. Performance on Flowerbomb was never a issue, it’s freaking fantastic!! Creates a nice scent bubble around me that makes me feel pretty and happy…

I went through two big bottle back in the days, and I bought a third one a few years ago. While I still love it when I wear it, I noticed that I don’t reach for it so much. I feel like even though it not so unique to smell anymore because it is so popular, the scent itself is still unique!

I will always have Flowerbomb in my collection, it’s a cult classic now. This scent is one of my first perfumes, and one of those who made me fall in love with perfume (and also with the note of patchouli).

Iconic scent that aged well, unlike La Vie est Belle…

LANashGirl

I didn’t like this AT ALL when it first came out. Today I love it. But I feel like a lot of my other fragrances smell like it. It must have been ahead of its time. I’m excited for the new Tiger Lily! Viktor & Rolf are definitely trendsetters for the mainstream perfume market.

nichoa99

I got a sample of this and hated it. The patchouli was too strong and it smelled like peptobismol. It reminded me of the mall and every generic perfume ever. A few months later and I can't get enough and I think it's quite unique. Weird how tastes can change like that!

I also have the Dossier dupe and it's spot on and pretty long lasting.

Blossomlove

Apparently I like floral patchouli scents because this and Coco Mademoiselle were my scents for a decade. What's not to like here? It's citrus & florals with patchouli and vanilla sexiness. This scent has staying power as well! That patchouli really grounds this scent and helps it last for 6-8 hours. Lasts on clothes till you wash them. CM was my day scent and this was my night scent. I always felt sexy wearing this and this was my go to date night scent. My ex didn't really care for this one so we went to Ulta and decided on Burberry Brit for me so I ended up wearing that one for years instead but once single again, you bet I was wearing this again. That being said, Flowerbomb and Coco Mademoiselle will ALWAYS be in my collection. I bought my mom a sample kit from Sephora and she ended up picking this one out of 6 so I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. I have so many other great scents so I guess i'll let her have her time with FB now. Also she's 74 s there's no age limit on this scent either.

Raegan Hall

A very girly, classic, sweet, easy reach.
My favorite when wearing pink!

daniellecrowe

This is definitely an all time favorite for me. I first purchased in 2015 while honeymooning in Las Vegas, and it takes me right back! I tend to save it for Vegas vacations, but put it on when a mood boost is needed because it makes me happy.

I don't think there's much I can add with my review. Its a floral gourmand delight and has lots of fans for good reason. Its so sweet and sexy at the same time. If it were a dessert, I'd have seconds. I love it.

With my chemistry the sugary vanilla is predominant, with tea and floral notes more subdued. Both sillage and longevity are moderate to strong.

Amamii

Every time I see Flowerbomb, it takes me back to 2014. At the dazzling perfume counter, I was immediately drawn to this bottle shaped like a pink hand grenade (although it was quite an eye-catching one). The design and appearance captivated me. After sampling the fragrance, it felt like bustling flower market, yet the scent was comforting and not overwhelming in the slightest.
Its top notes are a very fresh floral scent, dominated by rose and osmanthus, with a subtle hint of tea aroma; the middle notes also blend floral scents, feeling softer than the top notes. However, these are not the scents of flowers in a vase, but rather of fresh flowers planted in the soil or at least in flower pots, giving me the impression of vibrant, lively flowers.
Since then, I've tried many perfumes with various floral scents, but I've never encountered another fragrance like this one. It's not an aquatic floral scent, but rather a warm floral one, likely brought by musk and vanilla. Typically, the combination of flowers and vanilla could be too sweet for me, and I don't particularly enjoy this mix in other perfumes. However, it came to my realization after using fragrance with patchouli as base note, that it was patchouli note that toned down the sweetness.

murrrrrrrrdith

I got this as a miniature dab-on and for a long while I avoided testing it because it smelled so grandmotherly out of the bottle. But when I put it on, that's where the magic happens. The floral notes open into something more creamy and the vanilla note is very prevalent on my skin in the dry down. It lasts a long time even when I'm dabbing it on, so I would love to try the spray (I feel I get way better sillage that way). Overall a surprising favorite for me.

January420

Ok.. so I got this way before I really got into fragrances. I’m more of a gourmand lover. This is a floral one all the way, so if you love florals it’s for you. It’s very warm, it has nice projection and good longevity. It’s a sexy smell but definitely not my favorite. I would give this a 6.5/10

09pinkrose02

BOMBASTIC!! I haven't met anyone who didn't compliment this scent on me. It's sweet in a sexy and elegant way. It's so long-lasting and will absolutely turn heads - one of the best fragrances ever.

definitelasts

Timeless, gorgeous perfume. I have loved this scent for over 10 years. Takes me back to my naïve but hopeful youth. It will be in my collection someday! It's so bright, sweet, floral-y and feminine. Maybe this is controversial to say; I think that Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb is to the 2000s what Chanel N°5 is to the 1920s. It has certainly stayed consistent with sales over nearly 2 decades.

jenzel4381

For the longest time I thought I hated this perfume because on paper all I smell is patchouli. Now that I finally tested it on my skin, I see what all the fuss is about! This scent is gorgeous and I'll be buying myself a bottle for my birthday.

kitko

this is the standard Flowerbomb scent—cattleya, jasmine, orange blossom, and rose, pulled down with vanilla and patchouli. Of the three, this one is my favorite; I’m usually a sucker for jasmine despite my general aversion to florals, but they’re balanced very well by the patchouli especially. tbh I find this a little fruity, which I normally steer well clear of, but it works well here. 7/10 makes me feel like I'm in a day in the life vlog

lemmingbee

This was my signature perfume for 6+ years: long enough to go through a whole 100mL bottle and half of a 50mL bottle. It helps that it has really good lasting power and sillage, so for daily wear one spray is totally sufficient. In fact, my dad is the one who gifted it to me originally, and he generally complains that I was too liberal with application if I use two sprays, so I only ever do so for going out in the evening.

That said, as much as I used to love this scent, my perception of it has changed over the years. Something about the strong patchouli combined with the bergamot has started feeling caustic to me, almost scraping at the back of my throat. A lot of people describe this perfume as delightfully fruity, floral, and warm, and I know for a fact that I used to feel the same way, but for the past couple of years all I've been able to smell is patchouli bomb, haha. I'm hoping that taking a long break from it and exploring other perfumes will allow me to rekindle my love for Flowerbomb!

Jordu

My ex used to wear this and I still think about the smell three years later LOL

Mac_23

For a 'floral' fragrance, i don't find it overly flowery. though the floral scent is there. i find it very sweet, sugary, and feminine, which i LOVE. I am not one for florals, but i love wearing this fragrance. At Sephora, it was described as a gourmand, and i have to agree. Its a great fragrance for gourmand girlies looking to expand their collection beyond the standard gourmand scent notes.

I got a rollerball of Flowerbomb a few weeks ago. While I don’t know if I’d purchase a full size, or more precisely a full price full size, I’ve been having fun with my rollerball. I quite like the patchouli hard candy vibe other reviewers have pointed out. It makes me feel like a very pretty, sweet girl with a significant other who dotes on her, a close knit group of friends, and who is always organized and on top of things (but maybe that’s just me projecting my wishes onto the scent). It’s been beloved by so many for a reason.

I do find it irritating how many reviews seem to be not only calling the scent basic but insulting its wearers. It’s true Flowerbomb has mass market appeal and has been so prevalent in the fragrance world since its release that it now seems not only basic but more than a little passè to many fragheads. But mass market appeal is nothing to scoff at and this is the inevitable journey any highly popular fragrance will pass through. Glossier you, Santal 33, Baccarat rouge 540, Delina etc are starting this transition as well, and soon will be similarly scoffed at. Finally, all that making snide comments about the type of individual that wears this scent or similar others do, is make one look like someone who is into perfume for the exclusivity, rather than sincere appreciation of the art.

juliajulianna

This was my signature scent for so many years. Around 10 years ago it smelled sooo delicious and very sexy. It was also a bit darker I’d say. I got compliments left and right and I loved it on myself too. The silage was unbelievable. My neighbours could smell this hours after I walked through the corridor. It was very gourmand and edible. Sadly, this is no longer my signature. After reformulation or whatever they’ve done, it doesn’t meet my expectations, it’s not the same. I agree that now it’s just very heavy on patchouli, it lacks the sexiness and sweetness. I’m sad and disappointed. I gave it a chance again after some time but unfortunately still a big NO. Shame :(

MoonGirl22

Very sweet and very similar to La Vie Est Belle from Lancôme. I used to really love it in my early twenties but now I’m in my thirties I think it’s too intrusive and can be cloying.

Sugemen

Amazingly beautiful and really feminine scent. Sometimes I even don't want to use it since i don't want it to be finished ... Just love

Anna99

Sugary, pretty and feminine scent, but for me and what I like from perfumes- it was slightly underwhelming in its performance as it doesn’t last long on me at all :( But it must be my skin as many others claim it lasts a lot longer than what I have experienced, and for me it also has very little sillage.
It is a truly lovely scent but I think la vie est belle by estee lauder (which people have compared it to) performs better- but I think they smell quite different. If you are someone who wears perfumes for certain seasons/times of the day this is more of a summer/spring/daytime scent.

miaaa

It’s so pretty but I feel like I’m to young to wear it since I’m in highschool

Amethyst3

This scent is original in my opinion - you simply can’t mistake flowerbomb. it’s got a magical aura to it which I can’t quite pinpoint from the ingredients list yet. I love patchouli which helps! This was my first proper coming of age scent . It was the most I had ever bought a scent for and it smells of just that- money . For me a bit overpriced considering the staying power was only moderate . Nevertheless , a special bottle with a lovely pinky tint and I love the wax
Seal .

I think this is defo a perfume u gotta try first to see if it works with yo body chemistry. People here sayinh it smells like patchouli, ion kno what patchouli is or smells like but from the vibe it don't smell like that on me. When I smell it on paper it smells floral sweet n fresh but on me it's more vanilla, very warm, nutty even with the slightest bits of florals but yeah I'd agree on sweet. I'd assume it lasts a while, I was on a plane and even after a day I could still smell it on my wrist. This ain't exactly what I would go for but it smells real good n I'd recommend this as a first perfume to any woman who's js getting started.

v4mpir

was my signature scent for a while, which is surprising as I usually hate floral scents.
it is very sweet and flirty, and reminds me of my early teenage years.

Shimmer412

So, I’m not typically drawn to many floral fragrances, but the Flowerbomb line (OG, Ruby Orchid, Nectar, and Midnight) is absolutely beautiful! I also am very careful about fragrances that have patchouli notes because if not done right I don’t like them, but again I think Flowerbomb (as well as the flankers) are all done right!

Flowerbomb is a softly sweet floral that’s flirty and romantic! I don’t get that mature scent that I find with a lot of florals which might be why I love this one! I also don’t find the rose note to be very forward, so that’s probably part of it too! While I do notice the patchouli I also don’t find it overpowering, rather more grounding and enhancing of the other notes! I really love the orchid, orange flower, jasmine, vanilla, musk, and even the patchouli notes in this!

For reference a few other florals (besides the Flowerbomb flankers) that I really love are Coach Love (2012 version), Chloe Love Story, Chloe, Coach Poppy Blossom, Coach Poppy Wild Flower, JPG Classique, Kayali Deja Vu White Flower, and Nest Golden Nectar! I have noticed that I do tend to like amber florals and Solar florals. I don’t know if these are exactly considered strictly florals, but also Dolce & Gabbana The One and Sol de Janeiro 59.

scschroeder

this line was my introduction to the world of fragrance at 15, so i hold it dear to my heart. i wore it loyally for roughly 10 years of my life. idc if it’s basic, it’s a truly beautiful scent. there’s a reason why it’s a consistent best seller.

FireDragon76

A warm, mature sweet, lightly woody fragrance. I thought it would be cloyingly sweet, based on how the fragrance was reviewed in some circles when V&R FB was first released. So I'm pleasantly surprised!

So far, 4 hours (I'll update) and it projects within arm's length.

I couldn't afford rid when it came out. This was a blind buy 2x20ml. So I don't have the beautiful bottle. The scent is beautiful and I'll admit it reminds me of other fragrances from that time, that I couldn't afford. I'll definitely repurchase any time I can afford to!

meganlamode

I never wore Flowerbomb in its heyday, although I had Katy Perry Killer Queen, which I believe was supposed to be a dupe. I enjoyed Killer Queen, so maybe I would have enjoyed Flowerbomb back then, but it just isn’t my cup of tea now. Patchouli overpowers all of the lovely florals, which makes me a little sad, especially given the perfume’s name.

Cakerin

Patchouli bomb. You have to like patchouli, because it overwhelms the other notes. I’m not a fan. It lasts, so there’s that.

Leeenas

When I tested this in store I thought it smelled a bit old, like a more mature vibe, but still very nice and sweet. Now that ive bought it I can’t wear it. On me it’s sooo strong. It’s offensive, I feel like I’m giving other people headaches. It just smells like sugar on me. Sugar and wood mixed, nothing else sadly

Lovely246

I can definitely see why this has such mass appeal. Sure it is popular but for good reason.

faerieblues

LVEB was a favorite so finally bought this, have this been reformulated?? Very weak longevity and sillage, Doesnt smell like LVEB too, pretty basic VS or BBW scent.

elsab

A classic. I have worn it since I was 15 years old. I primarily like unisex and less sweet scents however it's something about Flowerbomb that I love and I can't find anything like it. It's warm and addictive. I think I really pick up on the tea note which sets it apart from other similar floral scents.

Anfissa

Strange, but I smell a licorice or anise type note in this perfume, especially on my skin. It’s not listed in the notes, so that’s puzzling. The longevity that I seem to get is around 3 hours. And the projection is moderate.

zkarikuri!?!?!

i love this so muchh, to be its kind of fizzy and sweet, and fruity in some way? i don't know but its pretty floral as well, really good. i dont think anyone could hate it, unless you hate it for the price lol.

annafaerie

My glamourous mother's signature scent. I dare not wear it yet. I may be biased but I don't think anybody can pull it off quite like she does.

This really is a flower bomb, it fills the air with floral prettiness. I think it is neither especially youthful or especially mature, it's very timeless and elegant. I think Anya Taylor-Joy was a great pick for the ad campaign. The warm spicy notes twinkle and dance on top of the florals.

It's heavy, too. It seems to last forever. When my mother leaves the house, the bathroom still smells like Flowerbomb. It's quite a pleasant way to fill the space.

I imagine: ballerinas sipping champagne after a great opening night, Grace Kelly in pale pink satin, an evening stroll in the garden, and Cinderella's ball.

mayvray

A classic!! Florally, patchouli goodness. I bought this for a friend’s birthday. Smells so pretty.

NillaSugar

Oh, I do love Flowerbomb. It’s a feminine, sweet and fresh floral with a little hint of vanilla later on.
I’ve been wearing this consistently for the last 10 years. I never get bored of it and it’s one of those rare scents that suits all occasions and seasons.

I don’t think it’s an explosion of floral like the name suggests though, it’s obviously floral but has a freshness to it.
I love the fresh green tea, orange, freesia and patchouli.
It’s a very well composed perfume that lasts all day on me ( even longer on clothes)

I don’t care that it’s ‘over’ popular (although, I hardly smell it in anyone nowadays)
A good perfume is a good perfume🤷🏻♀️

It’s also the scent I’m guaranteed to get compliments on, my sister bought a bottle after smelling it on me & my mum is always saying ‘oooo you smell nice’ when she hugs me & im wearing this.

I can’t say I fully get the LVEB comparison.
LVEB smells sweeter to me, I really like it but prefer Flowerbomb.

marietangerine

This is a classic. I remember buying it when it originally came out and thought it was a bit spicy and mature for me, I think the patchouli and rose were much stronger. Now I really like it. The floral vanilla sweetness and green tea combo make this seem like an extroverted cousin to Kilian Princess (way more floral of course). I don’t think you can go wrong with this, it’s very feminine, seductive, although maybe not for high heat. I find it to have strong projection and moderate longevity.

UlianaM

Nice pleasant flower scent. It smells young.
Not special, not unique, more a trendy one, but well-made.
Good sillage, not killing.
I am actually surprised this so much better than the rest of the its l'oreal sisters.
I'd say if you're looking for something flowery, a little sweet, but fresh scent, that could be a blind buy (though I don't recommend blind purchases; if you can test in store before buying, better do it).Way better than My Way Armani.
But as somebody mentioned in the comments, if you're looking for something more mature, this is not it. This is an infant one :)

Noga1980

It took me around 18 years to finally discover and buy this fragrence...
Im so late to the party...
It is so good and nice.
Sometimes we search too much and there are very good perfumes just under our noses..

La Vie en Luxe

I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. Just as the name suggests, it is a lovely floral scent with a sweetness attached. I can see the similarities to La Vie est Belle that others mention and it performs similarly on me - I got quite a few hours out of it and definitely good sillage which I rarely get. I do feel like I have come across a few others wearing this so this might not be for you if you're looking for something unique and "different" but I personally will definitely invest in a bottle. It's also a nice one to layer with other scents if you want to put your own twist on it.

warmcashmere

I put Flowerbomb on for the first time in 10 years (new decant, not an old bottle) and it smelled slightly different to me. There was a sharpness to it that verged on headache territory. It was too late to change fragrances completely (this is a strong one!), so I decided to layer it with a vanilla. I mixed it with Caramelo Vanilla and that made it more tolerable. It was fun to wear for a day and earned me a compliment, but I think I'm going to forgo a full bottle.

ambervxyjul

Timeless fragrance imo. Has all the right florals, a great balance of sweetness and comforting base of pachouli and vanilla. Wear whatever you like, but sometimes certain fragrances can target certain groups of people. Flowerbomb is weird to me because I can’t pinpoint what age can wear this. I feel it’s suited for anyone! A great gift buy. Reminds me of la vie est belle but a tad bit sweeter!

QueOndaGuera

Flower bomb is pretty and classic. Typically these are not the notes I go for in fragrances…patchouli tends to be earthy and damp on me while florals just aren’t my favorite. The combination of notes with the tea note is beautiful together. It definitely is on the lower end of moderate lasting power though. I sprayed myself before heading out the door and now it’s coming up lunch time and I can hardly detect it.

amaramarie0208

This is very sweet, mixed with some citrus giving it a rather fresh, zingy scent. It's personally too sour for my taste, meaning its floral notes are a little too underlying by the overly powerful sharp tang. This sour taste is also the reason I don't find the perfume very elegant or mature, it's very much an adolescent fragrance, with an abundance of chemical-smelling notes. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone looking for a more developed scent, but I suppose it works for a teen looking for a very fresh, citrusy perfume with overlooked floral notes.

Hybridchimera

Citrusy floral feminine smell. Not for me but could work for people who likes floral and fresh combined. It’s not the old woman floral smell.

StarryDawn

I adore this! I've honestly avoided it because when I read the name I'm immediately thinking overly warm musky white floral and that is not for me, but I ADORE this!
Sweet herbal-citrus tea with a hint of flowers.

chidom

I love this fragrance but something tells me that they changed the formulation ever since I last purchased a bottle. It smells slightly sweeter than it did before.

rose4franc

A soft rosy musk. The tea note turns sweet almost like lychee. It doesn't project at all like an EDP but more like an EDT. The prominent fruit note (orange flower) takes center stage but a synthetic orchid sweetness makes it a little jammy. Something ominous about it. Like if I walked into a big open room with nobody there but just this flowerbomb ambience spread out I'd get this haunted nostalgic feeling creep upon me.

Makeup Discourse

I love this and I don't know why!

As this was compared to LVEB, I decided to not even look at it. But I succumbed to the allure and took a whiff of this in the perfume aisle and sprayed on my pulse points. To my delight, it was not at all like LVEB, not sweet at all, and it was the reason I had to get a full bottle! This is nothing like LVEB.
On me it is a floral patchouli symphony (sans the sweetness). Absolute Love!

manateemuse

Floral scents are not my favorite, but this is not purely a floral. Neither is it a heavy patchouli that smells like your local metaphysical shop. The two notes are both extremely powerful within this perfume, creating a scent that reminds me a lot of floral pastries. The patchouli smells more like a doughy vanilla scent when combined with the floral notes, which are themselves slightly diluted by the base notes. This is still an overwhelmingly powerful perfume, and will stick to your clothes for days after. You are best off walking through this scent rather than spraying it on directly. I imagine the woman who owns this perfume would regularly wear it to springtime afternoon teas.

sennie

very feminine, and soft; it is sweet and smells of mainly florals, unsurprisingly.
i don't think it is overly so, but i don't find this to be very special either.
at first, i thought it was pretty -- which it is -- but it also is a bit generic.
i imagine you can definitely find something similar to this at bath and body works, or even victoria's secret.
you could wear this daily any time, any season, any occasion because it's that inoffensive and safe.

cutiepi

I despised this perfume - smelled absolutely rank. I am no stranger to patchouli scents, but something about this just smelt like bitter plastic. It is incredibly long lasting though, sprayed it on my jacket and the scent is still there weeks later...too bad It's awful.

Biggest.Nose

This is a nice scent, very long-lasting.
However, unfortunately for me when it's first applied to my skin it smells like a hairspray. Not unpleasant but cheap hairspray...
It then an hour later changes to a white floral mist smell; which is sweet and nice.
Then unfortunately it smells sweet and metallic almost like coins 3 hours into wearing it.
I've tried this a few times. It's lovely I would wear it but for me it's not worth the price.

BrownGirlBeauty

I’ve had this fragrance for a few months now and I can honestly say this is one of those fragrances that you either love it or you don’t. I’m not in love…. AT ALL. I keep trying to give this a chance but I just don’t like this scent. Everyone keeps saying how sweet it smells and I’m not getting that. I get a slight amber scent and old pages of a library book smell. There’s something screechy and annoying in there that makes me wanna sneeze. It’s more than likely that patchouli note that’s the buzzkill in this fragrance. All I can say is “Pew 🤢”

Laila C

No matter how much I want to like this: it smells like literal stinky feet on me. I’m pretty sure it’s the osmanthus/tea combo that doesn’t play nicely on my skin. It’s frustrating too, because there’s a hint of sweetness’s there, that promises so much but that underlying smell just ruins it for me 😔

dschwend

I’ve loved this scent for many years, but over the past 5 I’ve felt less drawn to it, and increasingly that I associate it with my early-mid twenties. Recently a friend commented that she really like the tea note in this fragrance, and I’ll admit, the tea aspect never really stood out to me prior. I decided to smell collect all my tea note fragrances together and tried mixing this with commodity gold (expressive). The mix definitely reminded me of a London Fog latte without leaning heavily into the tea note. More like you’ve brewed and Earl Grey tea, but haven’t yet taken a sip. And you’ve grabbed some sugar cookie biscuits to have along with it. The combo is a 3 pm tea time well suited for cooler weather (perhaps not a dead of winter type). If you have both I highly recommend mixing them to breathe new life into V&Rfb.

mermaidshimmer

I like to sweeten this perfume my pairing it with Flowerbomb Twist Rose Oil. Yet, even with this combo, this fragrance sticks close to the skin. It has a quiet throw, so people won’t detect it unless they’re right beside you, in your personal space. I get wafts of it all day. The warm, spicy florals are pleasant. But there’s very little projection or drama. A cozy scent 👍🏼

SwampSaddle

The opening of this fragrance isn't good nor bad - just interesting. True to its namesake, it does dry down to a "flowerbomb", which I found too sweet and possibly headache-inducing.

nicbat

This is a perfectly nice warm floral, but it is not my personal taste. A bit too floral and a bit too generic for me. I have seen a lot of people compare the new Sol de Janeiro After Hours to this fragrance, and while I see the similarities, After Hours is more my vibe - a bit more mature, complex, and sexy. However, I would only wear After Hours in the evenings, whereas I feel Flowerbomb can be worn in the day or night.

subtlyyours

This fragrance makes me so happy and i don’t even know why, but it’s like “joy” should be included in the pyramid alongside patchouli, both of which Id consider quite dominant in this composition.
Flowerbomb is not a floral bouquet, but it’s like someone used that bouquet to crack open a piñata full of sweet vanilla patchouli hard candies
This is a STRONG performer so less is more

lauanevan

This was my first perfume love in 2008, I went to the perfume counter and gave it a nostalgic sniff. Back then I was ADDICTED to it, i was a poor teenager and always went to spray the tester. I loved the top notes, but remember it turning later less lovely. Still had to spray it.

lyka

Excellent parfum fruité, fleuri, convient à tout âges, bonne tenue, bon sillage mais trop porté

cutiepi

Seeing all the great reviews I decided to give this one a go. I sprayed it on a tester card and liked the scent, so I sprayed it on myself to see how it would wear.

This smells terrible, there is something incredibly bitter and rank about it I just didn't like. After about 4 hours it has dried down a bit so it's not as awful, and I can smell some more floral coming through, but this one is still a no for me.

WhiteFlowerPrincess

I don't mind this fragrance, but it still leaves a lot to be desired and is quite generic smelling to me. There's something that is very mass market about it, like something you'd find at a beauty counter at the mall, like at Macy's perhaps.

I don't really get the tea in the opening, but I do smell the citrusy bergamot and the fruity floral osmanthus that smells like apricot. I wish I smelt more of the tea, since it would have made this perfume less cloying to my nose.

I can smell hints of jasmine and orange blossom in the heart notes, but the freesia and the rose is what I smell more of. I wish I could smell more of the jasmine and orange blossom and I admittedly don't know what orchids smell like, since I have never smelt an orchid that has a fragrance. I have heard that they have vanilla-like nuances though and I can smell vanilla in this. That is in the base notes too, though.

The patchouli in Flowerbomb is by far the strongest ingredient in its composition though ans it is what turns this perfume from a soft like to a "meh" for me, since I really don't like patchouli and its strange and sweet earthiness. I smell some of the musk too, but it really takes a back seat to the patchouli.

As far as its scent and vibe goes, Flowerbomb is like a pink flower and patchouli scented hard candy to me. It smells edible and not completely like a "Flowerbomb." More like a "Flowerbomb" candy. It seems to be a precursor to gourmand fragrances being the most popular fragrance category a few years later and indeed up till now.

I got 7 hours in total wear time from this perfume and a moderate sillage. I recommend it for spring, fall and winter and for both day and night occasions. I'd also say it's definitely a woman's perfume, despite it not being my cup of tea.

Altogether, I'd give Flowerbomb by Viktor and Rolf a 5/10. It is as average as average can get for a fragrance for me. It's definitely better than La Vie Est Belle though, which this fragrance is most compared to.

unicajiha_01

This perfume is really feminine and soft. I bought the 4pcs at Macys and their lotion is one of the best. I tested this scent once it came from my doorstep along with the lotion and my husband can’t stop siniffing. I used it and we had our alone time time that night and I can say he liked it so much. The only downside is that it doesn’t last that long. It’s only good for few hours.

kylieesi

I typically love these types of notes in a perfume, but Flowerbomb was not for me. It was cloyingly sweet like store-bought frosting, cheap vanilla body lotion, and Starbucks Frappuccinos. There is a certain depth to this scent - it isn’t just a sugary sweet perfume - but the depth almost feels fake…

onjelbercier

Very pleasant, modern, amber floral that smells a little more like hard candy than flowers. It is subdued but notably sweet. It works as a nice signature or layering perfume. Great for any time of day and arguably any season. I am not sure that the projection is very good. I know many say that this smells like many other perfumes, but I actually like it a lot.

carrico1986

Finally trying this out almost 2 decades later.... I must say as soon as I sprayed it, I definitely recognized it! This scent ruled the bar scene between 2005-2007. I still like it though. It's well balanced. It's sweet, sour, floral, musky and sexy all at once. Without the tea note, this scent would be a total sugar bomb, so I'm glad it's in there to balance things out. I enjoy it. I know it's been done to death but it's still a highly likeable perfume! A definite classic.

bbyevrm

its waaay better than lveb, its less sweet and less nauseating. smells like lollipops. and it has a fabulous sillage and longevity u cant go wrong with this

AlliCat1215

I always feel like I’m missing something with flowerbomb, like I’m crazy because everyone talks about it’s great projection and longevity and it just does not perform like that on me. Which is very disappointing bc I love the sweet warm floral patchouli scent.

AncientModernAncient

After Angel turning my stomach, I was worried I just don't like patchouli (even though I used to use Lush's patch deodorant!) but it's just fruit + patchouli combos or maybe just Angel. I love this.

One of my closest friends wore this scent throughout high school and that gave me the impression that it was a much sweeter, simpler scent. I wasn't expecting such a dreamy, sweet, slightly spicy floral. I love it so much, and I almost hate that I do, because for someone with a dark and androgynous style I really keep digging classically girly scents. Florals, sweet gourmands, caramel sugar bombs, light pink bottles. Do I confuse people? Probably.

This, to me, is a ballerina - not a fantasy one, but the hard work and worn-out pointe shoes underneath what seems effortless.

Jmalone84

Even after all these years I still love this scent and I’m not sure anything smells quite as delicious to me. It has freshness, it has warmth, it has sweetness and a little powder. It’s everything. Not to be oversprayed as it can turn quite hideous. I wonder if it’s still as good as I remember. Thinking of getting a small bottle. Absolutely adore the shower gel too.

I don’t understand the LVEB comparisons, I hate LVEB and love this. I don’t get the BO/ dirty or masculine comments at all. And people really need to stop saying the word ‘old lady’. Lol, 2004 is hardly old for one thing, and actual classic scents (which I won’t consider this to be until another 20 years have passed at least) are to be treasured, as we all are if we’re lucky enough to age.

KittRightKate

I don’t have much to say about Flowerbomb, but only because it confuses me a bit and I’ve never been able to decide how i feel about it. My best friend and I obviously have different body chemistry that somehow makes this smell wonderful on her, but pretty bad on me. I don’t find it very sweet, and I typically make sweet or fruity fragrances smell much better than this same bff does, so i guess it’s just one that imo, really does depend a great deal on the wearer. Which i don’t truly understand yet but would love to learn more about. I’d just recommend wearing this before purchasing, because I purchased a large bottle and gift set, only to be disappointed that I smell nothing like my beautifully Flowerbomb fragrant bff.

Dori002

It's a hardcandy-like sweet, musky pathcouli. I don't get much floral notes to be honest instead I got some wet green notes, which smells like tomato leaves to me. On my skin I smell something minty in it that reminds me of anise. I don't find it similar to LVEB. LVEB is more dense & more classy.

whosvrushti

No no no no no no. Never. Thought it was floral but I could only smell patchouli and little bit musky and powdery. It was a blind buy and I’m sending it back. Big NO for me !!!

Cardelle

This fragrance was awesome before L'Oréal got hold of it; Mason Alhambra (Lattafa) do a DECENT clone of it. So do Noted Aromas...
I own a lot of Noted Aromas fragrances. They're top-tier.
I've had to put up a shelf for all of them (15 bottles).
L'Oréal ruined what was essentially liquid-sex juice.
They ruined Prada Luna Rossa Carbon for me. Luckily, I found some bottles of Prada Luna Rossa Carbon from before they took over, and maaaan!...💪🏾

madsoem

A very sweet scent, but nothing magical or unique.

LaelMitchell

I hate this fragrance with a passion and I just cannot for the life of me understand the hype behind it. It really does smell like an old lady and it’s very cloying and sickly sweet and not in a good way. I think I’m just not a big fan of patchouli because I hate this and YSL’s Mon Paris which is also very patchouli heavy. Like I literally just cannot! Nonetheless I still have a bottle of it in my collection just for aesthetic reasons and because apparently it’s a classic iconic fragrance. I do revisit it every now and again to try and force myself to like it it it just never clicks for me.

TaijaM

Something in the opening makes my nose itchy and stuffy, and overspraying gives me migraine. Doesn’t smell like what I imagine a flowerbomb would, it’s too heavy and powdery, and has a sharp and cloying old-lady-like edge to it. Drydown is ok at best. Max amount I can stand is one spray in the air and walking through it.

LadyT33

I USED to love Flowerbomb until I realized one day that it smelled like La Vie Est Belle and that ruined it for me! I had a manger that wore La Vie Est Belle and I hated her. Horrible person, horrible perfume. I received several small bottles of Flowerbomb in beauty subscription boxes and finished them up. I think that’s it for me and Flowerbomb.⚰️

FlowerSeeker

Sweet and spicy vanilla amber tea. A fun fragrance!

FragMaster

I’m a guy, and for me this smells like when you walk into the women’s perfume section of a store, or fragrance shop, in the best possible way.

goodchat

This was my wedding scent, and I saved it special for that day and my honeymoon so it would always remind me of that time in my life, so I'm incredibly biased towards Flowerbomb. It's feminine to a T: powdery, patchouli, musky flower fields. It's romance in a bottle and it doesn't go out of style. It wears well and lasts all day. I will always have a bottle of this on my shelf because it brings me back to dancing the night away and a whirlwind honeymoon in the Caribbean. It's reserved purely for nostalgia and special occasions now.

Einfinken

This perfume defined an era. It's not one of my favorites to wear any longer and I don't currently have it in my collection, but this has been one of the only perfumes to make my husband absolutely weak in the knees. It's an iconic scent that is really easy to wear and appropriate for almost any situation except maybe the high heat of summer. I still like Flowerbomb and could see myself repurchasing at some point.

katyb23x

I spent a year with a perfume addiction trying to find a perfume I liked as much as Flowerbomb, that isn't overdone. Turns out this is popular for a reason as there's nothing out there as amazing smelling for women with great longevity. I finally caved and bought a bottle, choosing to be "basic" at the cost of smelling good af. Currently downsizing my collection massively as this one covers all nights out / date night. FYI I owned Ruby Orchid and hated a particular note in it, really disliked the gunpowder note in Nectar too.

firstmate423

This is a forever favorite of mine. Sweet, feminine, classy. It will always be in my collection. I am a teacher and get compliments on this every time I wear it. The tea note is the thing that sets it apart from other similar fragrances, making it a little more modern feeling than the others.

m0userella

I only wear and buy perfumes that sex workers wear and recommend. This is one of the ones that gets recommended a lot but my god.. what a disappointment. It's disgusting. It smells so sour and reminds me of being car sick in a car with no AC in Nevada. It doesn't give any sweet or sugary notes to me, all I smell is herbs and flowers that have been fermenting or something. It's not a youthful smell, it's definitely more "mature" if anything. I'm not getting ultra feminine vibes from this either. Its more unisex that leans more towards feminine but not totally feminine. I smelled Flowerbomb Nectar as well and it's much better than the original but still has a sick fermented smell to it just way sweeter.

oxeslevy

I really don't like this.. Too cloyingly sweet and smells like B.O to me.

perfumelovere

This was an absolute no and I normally fall for patchouli scents if they're done tastefully. This is just heavy, floral and dirty.

RottigrlNYC

I have a 3.4 oz bottle bought on 4/24/2019, brand new in box from Nordstrom. I can show the receipt to verify it’s legit. I’m just not into it anymore . If u wanna buy it, PM me. I also bought La Vie Est Belle 2.5oz at same time also from Nordstrom. Selling both, boxed full presentation . Both for $150 plus ship. US only. I paid almost $300 plus tax for both so this is an amazing opportunity.

ANNAFRYS

Its high class Sex Worker scent. Scent of money; power; and infidelity.

Christy Kreyol

This perfume makes me feel so many things at once. Feminity, elegance, girly, delicious, good and so much more. I really really love it 💕. It's one of the perfumes that I prefer to enjoy on its own, instead of pairing it with something else (I do that a lot).

Very enjoyable! 😍

Louie_098

Hey ladies, I do wear this as a man. It works for me, I also love this on a woman. It's delicious. I wouldn't mind smelling this in public every day, so please wear it more often. I think it's the patchouli that's working with my skin chemistry, and that's why the ladies love this when I wear it. I'm going to rock this time to time because I love the smell, and it works, and my friends get baffled when I wear it because they think it's a man scent. Ladies, it's not manly on you, I promise. When they ask what I'm wearing, they get turned off because they don't want to buy a woman scent that smells "masculine." These are someone else's words, not mine. They get a masculine vibe from it on me, nothing feminine. I just want to say this one more time, it is a feminine fragrance, perfect for a flirty night out.

Cardelle

@Lakris you make me sound bad🤣☠️
Very good comment!... cracking banter!🤣🤣🤣
Yeah, she knows... I told her.
She knows that women like me, for some reason...🤷🏾♂️
She's seen it with her own eyes...
In 2018, I was shopping in a big Tesco with her, wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
We were at the kiosk, paying for our stuff and... this 80-something year old woman (who was probably a KNOCKOUT and one to watch, back in her day... she still retained some of her attractiveness, was tall, and her personality was UP THERE!😳...
She pulled up next to me, inhaling my aftershave (Obsession) first, while staring RIGHT AT ME, looking at my mouth😳 she, in a low tone, but loud enough, so that everyone within 20 feet could hear her... she said, "my god, you're a gorgeous, sexy man. Back in my day, I'd have had you!!..." and she probably would have, too!... she was BOLD!...😳
That was fuuuuuuuuuckin' BIZARRE; I get a lot of attention, but nothing as peculiar as that.
That was straight-up ODD!😳
She made ME speechless. ME!!
The cashier was dying laughing, because that was THE LAST THING that she expected that woman to say to me.
I think I was so stunned, for EXACTLY the same reason.
She made me shy and quiet, because I didn't expect it!😳
Had to throw that bizarre experience in there, just for the hell of it. So you understand what my lady has seen😳
But, yeah... she's not threatened, cos she knows that I ADORE her; she's one of a kind. She's such a sweetheart😍
She's SO RARE... and she been so nice and kind to me.
Honestly, her kindness is what makes her so attractive.
But yeah... this and Narcisso Rodriguez Her EDT... DAMN!...😳😑👿

Cardelle

It REALLY bothers me how diluted and altered this fragrance is.
I bought it for my lady, after having fond memories of a past girlfriend who used this as her signature fragrance.
This fragrance WAS a sexual POWERHOUSE!
La Vie Est Belle is far better than this! It smells the same, but a lot better.
As is Club De Nuit Woman. Same ballpark, but leagues above.
Gutted!
This was straight SEX in a bottle for women!😳
It used to trigger me to undress my girl ON-SIGHT!!... but now there's nothing but sugar and water.
I hate it!! It's far too expensive for what it is!!

Just did some digging and L'Oréal have taken over Viktor and Rolf perfumes, which would explain the performance issues.
They nuked Prada and other fragrances they'd taken over from PUIG, fragrances that were once beastly. In the interest of driving sales (not providing an efficient product)-- run out faster and restock faster -- quicker, higher turnover.
The L'Oréal takeover explains why this fragrance doesn't perform the way that it used to.
This is how they boost sales. They effectively sell flavoured water.
Flowerbomb is essentially ineffective at this point, which is a damned shame.
R.I.P to an aphrodisiac💔

Ellyloveswednesday

I really like this scent, I love the patchouli and it smells very feminine and a bit sexy to me.
It's a bit brighter then Flowerbomb Nectar (which is my favorite special occasion scent), with more patchouli and less vanilla then the latter and ofcourse without that gunpowder note.
I think it can work in all seasons but I think it's better suited for night opposed to daytime because it is definitely on the sexy and heavy side for me. I wouldn't wear this to the beach, mall or to work for example.
Maybe in winter I could pull it off during daytime.
On me, this easily lasts a whole day. When I use it in the evening, I can still smell it when I wake up the next day. Sillage is also great, you can definitely overspray this and I can smell it on others from a regular talking distance.

If you don't care for the bottle design: Get the 20ml version. I paid around 25EUR for it instead of 65EUR for 30ml. The bottle of the 20ml version is not as pretty but(in my case) way better value for money.

If there’s someone from Middle East especially Arabic culture maybe will understand what I mean 😊 this smells like something we call Flower water ماء زهر
And it’s different than Rose water . Flower water is much more sweeter than Rose water and it is used mainly for cooking so it’s an edible product used particularly in preparing desserts like pudding we call "muhallabeye " and other dessert contain rice and milk with ton of sugar kind of rice pudding رز بحليب. we use the flower water with those desserts so its something very very sweet produced from flowers still edible and gourmand that what Flower water is, and that’s exactly what this perfume is 😊 so in short to me it smells exactly like a dish of milk rice pudding cooked with flower water and I like it but I found it annoying in summer even though i am person loving extremely sweet perfumes

ylva

Love it! It's a sweet scent and so feminine. Very cozy, most suitable for fall/winter.

kittenpawz

Flowerbomb reaffirms my belief that patchouli is a parasite of a note that has no place in women's fragrances because it destroys everything pure and delicate it attaches itself to even when done by renowned master perfumers. Like having mud thrown at your new white summer dress. This is what Flowerbomb fees like.

It wasn't a blind buy for me and I like Viktor&Rolf perfumes quite a bit. I wasn't wowed by this one but thought it was a nice casual fragrance that could perhaps put an end to my hatred of parasitchouli - after all it's not so uncommon to still be able to appreciate a fragrance even if it has one of your least favorite notes. Maybe my sense of smell was so overwhelmed at the store (and then for the rest of the day?) that I couldn't think straight because the scent I received differs from the tester so much it's like an entirely different fragrance, not at all what I remembered it to be. Flowerbomb is a one note scent, and I suppose you can guess which note it is. I tried picking up other notes, and it felt like they were begging for help, being mercilessly devoured by that parasite. The parasite loves flowers and sweets so much it stole everything sweet and flowery there was to Flowerbomb and Flowerbomb became an average earthy/animalic stinker with no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
Actually this is what men smell like. Men who do manual labor after a full shift. A blast of testosterone + dirt + sweat, lots of it. Remember those alpha males with podcasts? This is the kind of manly stench they would desire their bodies to give off. I do not because I'm a pretty young lass. And if I were a main character in a 2000s movie this would be the first thing I'd be throwing off my shelf in a cinematic fit of rage, not to release my anger so much as to defeat the parasite that's responsible for the fad of making pretty girls stink like a big dirty man.

perfectly_pink

I’m going to release the popularity and age of this perfume and give a review on the fragrance without those judgements. I Love Flowerbomb. This is a powerhouse fragrance in longevity and projection but it is also Powdery, floral and soft. It’s Sweet and has a richness to it, sometimes I get a mouthwatering caramelly kind of smell. It’s a ‘that girl’ fragrance that is mature, nuanced and sophisticated. I believe this translates so well between occasions. I want to shout out the tea note that really does so much for this fragrance, balancing and deepening the sweet notes and working in harmony with the bergamot. Love Flowerbomb, one of my most worn because it’s so easy to wear.

Adelamgarceo

This must clash with my natural skin scent or something because it smells awful on me. I usually like some powdery scents so that’s not the issue. It’s supposed to be floral but it’s more powdery on me and not the sweet, light type of powdery but a heavier type, with a tinge of pee. Also, I was gifted this a few years ago. Most perfumes I’ve been given have retained their quality and color over a few short years. I have no idea what happened with this one, but it went from its lovely baby pink to like, cigarette butt water brown. I feel like this is important to know if you’re the type who collects perfume for the aesthetic and uses bottles as decor on a vanity or a table. I do and I had to retire this one!

Myrtillajus

Flowers and sugar, sugar and flowers… do you like them? Well , flowerbomb is for you . I personally wouldn't be able to wear it, I'm not a fan of super flowery and sweet fragrances. I find it a teenager 's fragrance , the kind I smelled even in my day , which I have never worn though . I don't think I'd even like to hear the trail of it, I find it too much. Oh yes too much. I read that among the noses there is also my beloved Ropion, creator of my beloved Portrait of a Lady and well, here I would never have said he had contributed to the composition. Unfortunately I can't find elegance or distinctiveness in it. But on the other hand, as I often and willingly say, "De Gustibus non disputandum est".

fruity_iykwim

this smells like a generic rose floral to me. sort of mature. reminds me of chance eau tendre. it's nice, but I feel like other fragrances do it better and don't cost an arm and a leg.

my pink musk tahara feels like a great replacement for this. it's an oil and it lasts forever. it's got that fresh out of the shower clean, with a ton of rich roses.

MrsNicole

This is a beautiful sweet tea fragrance. Is it a 'flower bomb'? Not really. It's definitely less about florals and more about the sweetness. It has a creamy, London Fog quality to it.
The sillage on skin is moderate, as is the longevity. On clothing, you can smell this for an eternity.
In my opinion, it is a well blended, smoothe scent that most people will enjoy. It's popular for a reason! Pretty, girly, fun and elevates my mood any time I wear it.
This sites hatred for anything popular always baffles me.
This fragrances continued success, in an oversaturated market, would lead one to believe that, yes... it does smell quite lovely to most noses.

Esna

When people boast that FlowerBomb is the epitome of class, I just imagine they're the type that think Red Lobster and Olive Garden are fancy restaurants. No offense.

selinacat

Many people say this smells generic, the irony is THIS was the one that MADE that scent profile 🤣. It's not generic, it's the OG! If you are a gourmand lover, you have this and Angel to thank for it. What I don't understand is how a literal flowerbomb (according to the notes) can smell so sweet!

Purpleaura

Sweet sugary patchouli, very basic linear. I don't understand the love or hype for this. Sweet nothingness, like sugar coated nihilism.

Jezeleah

So here’s the thing. Flowerbomb is a nice fragrance. Yes, it’s generic but no one can really dislike it. Just one thing though. It’s too cloying for summer. My coworker wore this yesterday, and she just assulted my senses every time she walked by. Even in air conditioning. I had to finally ask her what she was wearing, and sure enough it was this. She took it as a compliment, but little did she know, I was trying to find out what not to wear, at least in the summer.

joanneJ

I accidentally purchased this instead of the Nectar version, and I deeply regret that. It’s not a bad fragrance, it’s just very overrated. Even though I tend to love sweet perfumes, this one’s opening notes are way too overwhelming, and I didn’t find anything particularly unique or mysterious about the way it dries down. It’s beautiful, but something I’d have preferred during my late teen years, not now.
To me, it’s not a La Vie Est Belle dupe; they’re like first cousins but not sisters, even though they give off the same vibe. I hate wasting my money, so I’ll find a different perfume that I can layer with this to make it more tolerable.

AleshaA

Smells so generic I can’t tell the difference between some of these designers what’s so good about similar scents this is no different from Carolina Herrera good girl or ysl opium or so many in the same line
Good for you if you enjoy it
I wish I could

kaycorrin02

This perfume is my absolute holy grail. I do not care what anyone says about it, I ADORE it. I've gotten mostly good compliments while wearing it, but my best friend and parents all say that it smells like old lady. I don't agree, but even if it did, consider me an old lady I guess, because I will be buried in this perfume. Before I ran out (I'm trying out different perfumes atm), I would pair this with the Hemps rose body lotion, and my partner would not stop sniffing me. get it.

mothtoaflame___

Never ever could I not smell a perfume at all except I had Covid. It seems I am completely anosmic to it…….so weird.

(Tested)

Erincess

Nice womanly fragrance :) safe choice for floral lovers. I regret I only bought the smallest bottle :(

NikkiDoll

Silage and longevity excellent - cute bottle ~ a staple in my life ☺️

emil1724

this is the only female fragrance ive ever reviewed, because it smells so good. i promise everyone will love this on you. best designer female fragrance ive smelled

churinl

I purchased this when it first appeared on the scene. I wasn't a collector at the time and was looking for something to wear as an everyday scent. There is no doubt that the things that captivated me the most were the advertising and the fact that Victor & Rolf was a very trendy brand at the time. I dutifully wore it but never finished the bottle. The sweetness overwhelmed me. I couldn't tell you the difference between a gourmand and a chypre in those days, but as gourmands began to saturate the market, or was my first indication that I was no longer in synch with current trends. I have a weakness for florals, but this isn't like any floral I was used to. Similar to La Vie est Belle, I realized that overly sweet perfumes would never work for me. But that's okay. There are so many others out there that I have no qualms about purchasing what I love.

Billford420

There was this girl, I was smitten with her. Everything about her was amazing. Her smile could stop traffic, her hair was as long and beautiful as the most majestic oceans, and her scent was as lovely as your first footsteps into heaven.
I remember she drove me home one day because I was too drunk and for the next few days I would smell my seatbelt like a dog because it radiated her scent.
Obviously it didn’t work, but she was amazing. When I started getting into perfumes and colognes I would receive samples of various perfumes, idole, alien etc.
One of those samples was flowerbomb. This is it. This is the scent of my muse.
This is kind of a younger woman’s scent. It’s got that tea bergamot opening, some nice florals, but not too overpowering, light powderyness, with a vanilla drydown with a bit of light musk and patchouli. I expected something more loud like alien, especially with a name like flowerbomb.
This might be a dated scent, but hey, it brings back those golden memories of her and our youth.

la.femme.scent

I finally got a bottle of FB as a gift in a set last Valentine's day. Beforehand, I tested it on a card and fell in love with it! Unfortunately, I didn't test it on my skin because I was already wearing a fragrance and didn't want it to clash.
Anyway, now that I own it, it doesn't smell as good with my body chemistry, because something in the profile goes a little sour (I think it's the combo of the tea and bergamot). And the base pulls really spicy on me, almost like it has a pepper note, but I think it's the patchouli because there's a slight "minty-ness".
Also, there's a little "scratchiness" that I suspect is coming from the osmanthus, but I'm not that familiar with that note. There's also a creaminess that I pick up in the opening.
But I will say, that this is beautifully blended together. I wish it worked better on my skin but I still like it.
I also got the lotion in the set and that works better on my skin, for some reason, but it smells just like the perfume.

autumnjoy

Oh god. This perfume is a massive headache inducer and never wears off. Screechy floral with patchouli.

I used to wear La Vie Est Belle by Lancome before I developed any taste of my own and now the smell of it on others makes me want to vomit. Then I got a Flowerbomb sample so I sprayed it twice on myself and ugh…instant regret, lingering headache all day, and general feeling of malaise. I spray perfume to feel good, uplift or enhance my moods, and feel like the best version of me. (For me) wearing this perfume is like putting on a thick layer of makeup until you basically look like you are in drag, it is the scent of a caricature of a woman.

If this scent works for you, god bless.

MadamNijinsky

Already considered dated nowadays, which fits in with many of the reviews stating this scent reminds them of their youth 10 or 20 years ago (lol). There were many of this type which were popular at the same time this was. It's not a terrible perfume, it just doesn't stand out. It's also definitely overwhelming and has a very "teenager's first perfume that she sprays too much of because she doesn't know any better" vibe.

Trmact22

Sooooo goooddd!!

ToastyMonroe

Like many others have said, this perfume is so 2010’s! I bought it remembering the fond memories of wearing it as a young adult going out and feeling carefree. This is definitely a teenager smell, not so much a smell for me now that I’m an adult. Too heady for me.

frag_nostalgia

@Frabra88 I love your review -- you hit the nail on the head! I too have a positive association of memories attached to this fragrance, the "naughties" (2001-10 or thereabouts); going to bars, hanging out with other wild twenty and thirty somethings, and reuniting with a guy I made out with when I was a teenager just to hookup with him. He definitely wasn't boyfriend material, but dammit it was a good time! And I'll always remember it thanks to this scent 😊😉😏

Personally, I don't get a true patchouli- likely because I am used to (& use & love) the earthy and dark essential oil that hippies and travelers use which makes this patchouli feel green and restrained to my nose. I definitely get a lovely tea note; with some osmanthus, a bit of orange blossom, and a (sorry in advance) highly synthetic rose and jasmine bomb (the orchid accord?); supported by cotton candy sweetness, musk, and warm vanilla cupcake. So incredibly synthetic; but the mere combination of florals, pink candy, tea, and musk in this just make it so pretty and fun, youthful and feminine. I also love the fact the bottle is pink and pretty, but at the same time shaped like a grenade bomb. A quintessential "cool chick" frag.
🇺🇲❤️🇬🇧

vanillaflower77

I do love this but i combine this with the body creme, it’s more floral than just the perfume alone. I remember how popular this was and still is! my hair stylist at the time was really careful with money and she was at Saks when it first came out, took a smell and bought the bottle on the spot!

Gemsense

Doesn't work with my chemistry at all... Smells weird- osmanthus is my enemy so I'm sure it's that beast that's ruining it for me.

rachelgiuntoli

I bought this today on a whim without reading any reviews. I’ve heard of flowerbomb but I’ve never stopped to smell it. I tend to stay away from florals because they hurt my head and lean more towards sweet, gourmand scents. I sprayed it on my wrist and walked around. I was pleasantly surprised!

So sweet and playful, but not in a juvenile way. This is absolutely a feminine encompassing fragrance. A little class, a little fun, a little daring. Like a rebel ballerina/princess. It is not superrrrr floral and mixed with everything else it’s a perfect sugar dipped rose cupcake with patchouli. Idk why people review it so negatively, it seems it’s popular for a reason!

I can’t say I’ve smelled anyone wearing this but it does have a nostalgic scent like I’ve smelled it before. I can’t quite put my finger on it. Either way, I’m keeping it. It’s too good to take back. This is a great anytime perfume.

HannahRosesAreRed

Flowerbomb is exactly what it says it is. A flower bomb. Or more accurately a flora-chouli bomb. This contemporary floral classic is to florals what Burberry Her is for berries. It's a deluge of very strong floral notes. I really like the rose here, pretty romantic, sweet and grounded without being too sweet or, at the opposite side of the spectrum, photorealistic. The herbal notes here–I think that's the tea accord–add a little bit of green freshness. The white florals are more support players, powdery and soft, not animalic at all. I can see this transitioning from day to night as easily as your favorite blazer.

However, the star of Flowerbomb is the patchouli. It's a dark, grassy, mossy, earthy, almost health food store patchouli. That, and the vanilla, was what performed most intensely on my skin, especially in the drydown. I think this should've been called Choulibomb. Not bad, but not what I wanted and not the best scent on me. It's definitely much nicer on my colleagues!

I'd compare this to Coco Madmoiselle without the citrusy, orange blossomy and vanillic edge. Or a floral-heavy La Vie Est Belle without the heavily sweet gourmand accords. Very nice, but too heavy on the patchouli for me to pull off.

Sweetnsexy

This perfume is my love. I can wear this anytime and it puts me in such a good mood. It’s sweet but not sickly sweet and smells like a bouquet of flowers.

Frabra88

Ultra feminine perfume. It makes me think of silk, of satin flowery bralettes, of perfumed and powdered lingerie, and of everything that is alluring, sensual and good about being girly and feminine!
It remains playful though, do not expect elegance.

The opening with bergamot and tea is fresh, the bergamot is strong, you can smell it clearily! Together with the tea note is like they "marinate" the osmanthus resulting in a lemonated petals effect! I really like the opening, light and green.
The sugary quality that is at the heart of the scent is clearly already present in the background, and contrasts beautifully with the more herbal opening; it smells like cotton candy but with nothing burnt about it, like spun sugar, like the rainbow sprinkles (or little flowers) that are used to decorate desserts of different kind. Even the texture is airy and candy flossy!
I think this effect, which is at the core of the perfume, is given by the combination of orchid, musk and vanilla notes; probably ethil maltol is present too but not so distinguishable like in La Vie Est Belle by Lancome (to which this is often compared).
The middle of the scent is all flowers, clearly cuddled and supported by sweet musk. I can pick up the rose, candied and youthful, the beautifully powdery virginal fresia, and the sweet marshmallow-y orange flowers! Their presence is strong like the name suggest but the sugary dimension is equally tenacious, they practically stand tall and fierce in it!!
The patchouli diffuses the effect a bit, but it's not strong and earthy (or posh like in LVEB), here the vanilla and musk are surely predominant.
It really is a musky powdery bomb!
In the dry down the musk shows some lactonic facets too which I enjoy greatly but the vanilla is too strong and synthetic for my taste; it is a dry vanilla, a little flat and not woody at all (like suggested in the accords); in any case, it is just at the end of dry down that I find it bothersome, so all in all it's not a deal breaker.
You must truly like sweetness in order to wear this perfume, otherwise it would be impossible, since the base is very sugary. Also you have to be ok with your perfume being synthetic and having almost nothing natural about it.

I understand that Flowerbomb, like many other bestsellers, is overused and very popular....but, as I was saying in my LVEB review, something about this kind of compositions clearly strikes as universally pleasing....which has is pros and cons.
I, for one, can attest that men seem to find this sexy and irresistible!

Personally, I prefer to smell unique, that is also the reason I layer fragrances a lot, beside...Flowerbomb (and LVEB that I have recently reviewd) clashes with my moody and broody character; they are ultra feminine and optimistic perfumes and I much more prefer melancholic or androgynous fragrances. Less sweet too.
Still, Flowerbomb will remain one of my *guilty pleasure*, more so because I have a memory attached to it.

I remember when this came out...I was in my third year of University, I did go out for an afternoon of shopping and tried Flowerbomb. I liked the fact that it was powdery but, in truth, it was its feminine packaging that drove me in...something about the semi round/semi vintage bottle...with that delicious Viktor&Rolf logo stopper on the noozle!!! It clearly appealed to me. More so then the perfume, what I really was after was the big puff full of the same scented and shimmering powder, stored in a pink container.
Everything was extremely feminine and alluring, I so wanted to have them on my vanity! I was very much fixated with lingerie and everything girly during that time, but it was pretty much an internal quest, or battle if we will... my style never reflected that at all, like the lingerie it was all hidden underneath.
I renounced to them, probably also because of the price, and never looked back.
Recently I am giving a second chance to all the perfume that defined moments of my youth so here I am, returning to Flowerbomb, and writing a long, boring and redundant review about it!

I would like to spent a few words about the comparison with La Vie Est Belle by Lancome, since many seem to agree on their similitude.
I think that besides both being based on patchouli and sweet orange flowers, they are not so similar after all.
I like the opening of Flowerbomb better, green and light which exalts the sweetness in the background, while La Vie Est Belle is sticky from the start, with a concentrated juice of fruits and ethil maltol in the opening.
LVEB is all syrupy and extra thick, while Flowerbomb is made of airy sugary musk.
The patchouli too is quite different in both of them...in LVEB it is oily and earthy and polishes the sweetness down, while in Flowerbomb the patchouli serves the same purpose but with a different result since it's used with a light hand.
Same for the vanilla: in LVEB it has woody nuances, is syrupy thick and qualitatively superior, complex and more natural I would say.
Besides, apart from their olfactive differences, there is a divergence in their mood too: Flowerbomb is altogether more "young", if you will...it speaks of a more nonchalant attitude, more carefree but less elegant, which instead is the main character of LVEB in my opinion...that classy sweetness gives it more maturity.

As for its flankers, they lost the plot too...same as Lancome.
The only one I am interested in trying is Flowerbomb Dew, heliotrope and ambrette on that sugary musky dna must be beautiful, even more airy and dewy!
I would have been curious about Flowerbomb Extract de Parfum too, just to see if a more strong patchouli and better vanilla would have perfected the scent...but it is an unicorn now.

Edit: more similar to Pink Sugar in style, then, let's say, Mon Guerlain Intense, which is sweet from benzoin and tonka and superbily elegant!!!

Lolodojo

Female wedding guests. Hairspray. Too strong for me. Catholic mass but like midnight mass where people are dressed up fancy. Am I dehydrated or is this giving me a headache. But I still kind of like it. Except never mind because I can’t even wash it off my skin.
Update: I did the dishes BY HAND and I can still smell it. Help.

princessproxy101

My mother has this perfume, it is a beautiful smelling perfume. Sweet fruity, floral, and a hint of vanilla.

anntdangg

Nice composition of different floral notes but it turns sugary which makes me not like it.

Night of April

It is nice. I got a 7 ml sample and I am so glad, because this one is expensive. I like it but I don't feel like this EDP fits my personality.
This is for people that like sophisticated, white flowers base fragrances mixed with some patchouli and tea. It is so weird because I feel like an expensive Nestea everytime put this on lol.

ajfragrances

i’m surprised no one has commented on how similar it smells to Mon Guerlain Intense! by no means are they a dupe to one another, but it’s like they’re cousins or something! they both are composed of a few of the same notes too (bergamot, jasmine, rose, patchouli and vanilla!). anyways, this smells divinely feminine! i’ve been wearing this all day since i’ve gotten it. smells amazing!!! to me, it smells: like if a bunch of flowers were candied or made into a syrup (not as syrupy and sticky sweet as Flowerbomb Nectar). It also reminds me of Ari by Ariana Grande (the pink bottle with a white pom pom), probably because of how sweet and playful it is. the only thing i hate about Flowerbomb is its lasting power. i was so shocked and disappointed and just how bad it lasts… it fades VERY quickly on me, but still remains somewhat there if i take a giant sniff… Also, the tea note is beautifully done here, reminds me of the tea note in Valentino’s Donna Born in Roma! Man it smells like quite a few fragrances to me huh…. well seeing that Flowerbomb came out way before those fragrances were released i guess i should say that THEY smell like FLOWERBOMB hahaha!

PrettyScentz

One of the best smelling fragrances! This was one of the first perfumes I ever bought and my eyes rolled back the first time I smelled it. It’s a classic for a reason (just like Baccarat). Pretty, girly, flirty, elevated, etc. just a really good overall fragrance. The original flowerbomb girlies have probably graduated to Delina now 😂 but this is always going to be ingrained in our memories.

katiejon

It’s pleasant enough that I enjoy having it.
On me it starts out very heavy and dense.
“Patchoulibomb” seems like a more fitting, name as far as my nose is concerned.
As it dries down I do pick up some thicker/denser floral notes (as opposed to light/airy florals), as well as a tea note.
I couldn’t handle this in the hot and humid weather of summer, but it’s nice for the other three seasons.
Would I repurchase this? At a discounted price, yes.

similar to one of Jimmy choo. I think Jimmy choo by jimmy choo. (on clothes)
Similar scent category of coco mademoiselle, or miss dior blooming or pink flower by aqualina. Not exact same scents but something in these scents makes me group them together

You have to like the smell bergamot and patchouli to like Flowebomb.

I like the smell of patchouli.

I detest the smell of bergamot.

The orchid and jasmine are lovely mixed with the patchouli! But that damn bergamot... 😭

I can acknowledge that Flowerbomb is a well blended perfume that's perfect for people who want to smell like a goddess of spring.

But that damn bergamot... 😭

And no. Flowerbomb does not at all resemble LVEB.

sakecat22

This probably smells much better on the sillage than on my skin. The opening is an unpleasant "bergamot" and the drydown is a strange uncanny valley between shampoo and caramel - when I can smell it. The direct skin sniff is unpleasantly nose-tingling, then I would promptly forget about the whole thing. The experience was quite strange.

I get the comparisons between this and La Vie Est Belle. If you want something with the same type of fruity-floral sweetness, but more forgettable, this may be for you.

Edited to add: Wore Flowerbomb again. More pleasant this time, but still not my speed. It goes metallic on my skin and reads more fruity (apricots) than floral. Deep drydown is pleasant.

Also did a comparison with LVEB. Here's what I learned:
- Top: Flowerbomb is apricoty. LVEB is berried pear
- Heart: Flowerbomb is apricot-leaning osmanthus + orange blossom on my skin (and metallic). Flowerbomb doesn't read floral on me, LVEB is orange blossom and reads more floral.
- Base: Flowerbomb is metallic caramel. LVEB is caramelized patchouli

On both I amp the orange blossom and caramel notes - and they seem to use the same ingredients for both of these notes. Since these seem to be the notes my skin amps, I now understand why one reminded me of the other. Still personally not my speed.

On my skin this comes out pretty heavy and cloying, and seems to get stronger with time. The freesia and patchouli are loudest here, maybe it’s because I’m not a patchouli fan but this really wasn’t for me.

After I started wearing Flowerbomb regularly, I switched my position on Grindr from "Top" to "Vers Top."

There is a new clone of this fragrance, Victoria Flower by Maison Alhambra EDP. The quality of this perfume is amazing, great longevity and sillage, very, very close to the original but the price is around $20, which means that you are saving a lot of money without compromising on quality, it worth to try it. Check it out and thank me later.

astralmonad870

The sweetness of this reminds me of La Vie est Belle by Lancôme. But while the former is cloying and gives me a headache, this one is balanced out by the earthiness of white tea and has a bit more full-bodied lusciousness from the rose. However before the nice warm vanilla drydown there is a bitter or rancid note in the patchouli that is out of place, and which I cannot stand. So I am selling my bottle on Ebay and Vinted.

BOLDLY SWEET Florals & Powdery PATCHOULI combine for a vibe that's dressed up yet understated. Opens with a burst of multi-faceted bergamot with peachy, tannic touches from tea & osmanthus, that deepens into a super sweet, powdery floral heart with musky & velvety touches, all resting on a patchouli & vanilla-musk base with powdery & iris touches. There's a slight 'perfume-y' quality that reads as dressed up, yet understated with the musk. This classic is signed by Dominique Ropion (Alien Mugler, La Vie Est Belle Lancome), Carlos Benaim (Euphoria Calvin Kelin), Olivier Polge (Spicebomb Viktor&Rolf) and Domitille Michalon Bertier (Perfect Marc Jacobs), Well above average performance, spray with caution.

Contrast to La Vie Est Belle Lancome:
These are different, but there is a similar vibe. Flowerbomb is softer & more powdery musk/white musk forward - almost a white musk version of LVEB, while LVEB has more of a sugar crystal texture to my nose. Both have excellent performance.

Contrast to To Be Sweet Girl Police:
These are different, but there are some similarities, but SG is more of an approximation of La Vie Est Belle. Both have well above average performance.

Overall: powerhouse performance and a beautiful scent profile, this is the perfect scent to wear to feel dressed up but understated. It's a love for me. Enjoy!

Too sickly sweet and generic for me

macijolene

it smells like sipping a vanilla tea latte while walking through a flower market with your boyfriend. it’s such a romantic warm floral with a good dose of sweet patchouli. this was a blind buy when i was 16 (10 years ago) and i instantly fell in love. this used to be the only perfume i wore and is the only fragrance i have gone through multiple bottles of. can be layered with almost anything!

smccmurphy

On me this is exactly the same as LVEB, which I find overly sweet and synthetic, but this has less sillage.

jazzscent13

So today I pulled the plug and brought a travel size of this perfume…. I wanted to see what the hype was about lol
Its basically a simi-fruity patchouli scent, this smells quite similar to my jimmy choo fragrance. I’m not necessarily disappointed, but this has a common DNA that’s in a lot of fragrances… so if you own a fruity patchouli you may not need this. None the less I still like it 💣 🌸

fragrantikuser1

One of those perfumes that I just had to join in on the hype. Smells amazing. It's a sweet floral that at least on my body chemistry I can dress it up or down. I've worn it to work, dates, going out, visiting family, traveling, etc. It is very safe to say that it was my favorite perfume for about 2 years. With that being said it is way too pricey for what it is so I am currently looking for a new signature. What I have left I will keep for dates but I cannot continue to wear it out like I used to. Recommend 100%.

This is as bad as LVEB Lancôme, I always get one of those as sample with my order, I sampled it many times because I just want to understand why those 2 are so popular. Today hand to hand Flowerbomb is sweeter and more sickening than LVEB, but has less sickening drydown. It’s sugary, cloying, lack of elegance and sophistication, sort of unrefined. I guess there is something wrong with my nose, I don’t get any flowers beside ostmanthus, but I get sugar, pralines and leather which are not in the notes. I don’t like whole this category of perfumes, but wish to understand what’s the buzz about, just don’t get it.

Rach2star

I've just tried a sample of l'eau de parfume not sure if this is the original one or a lighter version. Its very light and pretty. It reminds me of Libre at the beginnin with the citrus note. It's not my fav, think it's the black tea smell Im not to keen on.

I finally purchased a small bottle of Flowerbomb. I'd been hesitant for quite a long time as whenever I sprayed it on a paper strip, the opening was far too sickly-sweet to me, and I couldn't even imagine myself wearing anything like that without feeling nausea. I'm really glad I gave it a try on my skin (eventually!) as the opening passes quickly, and the tea note appears, making the scent cozier, much prettier, and super wearable.

Allthingssmelly

Today was my first time trying Flowerbomb. I know, I know (where have i been, right?)....I was never interested as I was under the impression that it would be floral strong (I'm not a fan of floral heavy perfumes). However, I was so wrong and this is a beautifully soft and sweet fresh feminine scent. I love the tea note. I easily get headaches from perfume but this is do delicate it doesn't bother me at all. I could wear and smell this all day. It is so easy and smooth on the senses; almost calming. I can't wait to purchase a big bottle and now I want to try the Flowerbomb Nectar. This is definitely a safe blind buy and couldn't be happier and recommend it more.

hpeeters

I finally tried the OG after loving most of the flankers. The OG and nectar give me licorice vibes that I hate! I’ll Stick with my beloved midnight & ruby orchid. Dew is also very good just the lighter of them all.

PattyLovesScents

Flowerbomb is my girl. I love this scent so much. I don't over spray her though and she stays perfect. I think Flowerbomb can go wrong if over-sprayed. She has a nice patchouli that to me is addicting. It is a clean patchouli that helps the flower/sweet scent cling to skin for a long time. You will smell flowerbomb the next day and the next day. I am not a big floral fragrance user, so a fragrance called "flowerbomb" just seems out of my zone, but her floral is a sweet white floral that doesn't really scream one particular flower. The sweetness with the floral is perfect but this girl is first and foremost patchouli. So if you absolutely dread patchouli then Flowerbomb might not be for you.

anggmndza

I smelled this at the store trying to figure out which perfume I wanted and this was on the list. I was expecting a burst of citrus and floral, which I got when I first sprayed. It was beautiful at first… But once it started to dry down, it got spicy which started to tickle my nose. Even my boyfriend made a face at the dry down. I’m not into spicy like perfumes so I was disappointed when I had to put it down and walk away from it.

renealizette

It smells like stationery. Remember those cute scented papers our moms used to buy us? It comes as a set complete with an evelope, except I don't remember using it for the purpose its meant for. I just collected them and occassionally I'd take one out to use for Mothers' Day.

Imagine going back to your old bedroom, still looking the same as you left it 10 years ago.

You join your Mom for tea or coffee as you reminisce your childhood. Suddenly you remember the small tokens you used to haul. You remember putting it in a box under your bed. You come up to your room and you pull put this box full of trinkets from your past. You take off the lid and that smell... THAT SMELL... it's that smell. Trapped in the box right there as you get a whiff of cotton candy and stationery and some dries flowers you kept in between a book you used to read every summer.

It smells reminiscing. A faint smell of childhood trapped in a box. But as you get more of the scent, you're hit by that aching feeling of homesickness, of dreams you have forgotten. But you smile, because everything that's got you where you are now, is everything you needed.

It reminds me of Dior's Blooming Bouquet, but sweeter and a lot younger.

Tony Shades

A very beautiful bright sweet vanilla floral with a gorgeous Fressia note in the drydown. The similarity to the very different dark fruity choco patchouli gourmand La Vie est Belle is a fragcomm myth, probably born out of the superficial comparison of the notes breakdown, which overlap, and the recurring perfumers. I appreciate that over 1000 members reject this misinformation.
