Noa by Cacharel is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Noa was launched in 1998. The nose behind this fragrance is Olivier Cresp. Top notes are White Musk, Peony, Freesia, Green Notes, Peach and Plum; middle notes are Lily, Lily-of-the-Valley, Green Grass, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang and Rose; base notes are Coffee, Vanilla, Sandalwood, Coriander, Incense, Tonka Bean and Cedar.

Noa is a small planet in your hand with a pearl inside. Noa is a transparent composition of flowers, delicate spices, velvety fruit nuances, and the energizing power of coffee beans. This fragrance is like a tender whisper, feminine and subtle, weightless, but with a noticeable presence.
Tender powdery top notes of freesia, peach skin, peony, and musk lead to a floral heart of white flowers, ylang-ylang, and rose. The base is woodsy and transparent with coffee and incense touches.

Will there ever be a fragrance that tops this white musk plus white floral skin scent dna? We see this scent profile being replicated over and over again, yet nothing is as timeless or as smooth as this one. I can smell everything, yet no individual note ever screams or shouts in the opening or the end. The most feminine, inoffensive, and comforting scent that’s incredibly balanced and well-blended.

Barbarossa

Am I hallucinating!? It smells slightly more floral version of skin by clean reserve. It wears better than skin on me and costs half the price. It’s a win win situation

Xx-neon-xX

have you ever just..... i dunno, tried sooo many fragrances, and you try to find the best scent, with the best projection, the best longevity, so you don't have to reapply, and you know everyone can smell it, etc... and the price tag just keeps going up, and you get influenced by TikTok peeps, and you just keep going until you get this one..... and you're like.. oh my word... life just stands still for a second as you just feel, feminine, soft, light, calm, and serene... it's a well needed change from the 540 BOMBS and eternal scents that linger like nuclear fallout... I really really enjoy this one,, and I have bottles that eat wallets... this is so lovely for the price it's a total safe blind buy IMO.

laurakaye

This was a blind-buy gift to me for Mother's Day from my daughter. I would see this scent come up frequently on Fragrantica as being a calming, zen, comforting scent and I've wanted to try this for years.

Upon first spray it's very powdery but quickly morphs into a mostly musk scent for me. It's lighter than I thought it would be, but wearing it for the first time to work I had a compliment within minutes. I gave myself 5 healthy sprays and I can catch slight whiffs as I move around, but it seems to be rather quiet and subtle.

It is all of those things listed above - it's definitely comforting. Reminds me of warm clean clothes fresh out of the dryer. It's not a statement-making scent, but I can see me reaching for it on days when I go out for a walk, or just for hanging around home.

fragrantO

it smells like being reassured after crying for hours until end
musky soft but something wet like the smell of tears powdered by musk.
i do not like most perfumes from this brand but this is an exception.
i do not like the assosiaction of being emotional with this perfume but take this with a grain of salt ; this perfume does smell good i am just overtly dramatic

sappho's tea

very nice, it can be both casual and elegant! smells like Eclat d’Arpège. i like the tiny sphere inside the bottle

WearyWanderer

I’ve had it for all of two days and already got a compliment. Olivier Cresp doesn’t fail! It’s a great clean, calming, soothing fragrance—I get soft, powdery flowers with just a hint of musk that, for once, doesn’t come across as sharp or pungent like it does in other perfumes (Glossier, I’m looking at you). No coffee or any of the bottom of the scent pyramid for me. It’s so quintessentially, universally likeable. And while it does sit pretty close to the skin, it’s noticeable when being hugged hello (hence the compliment), and it lasts a long time! Two sprays this morning and I can still catch a whiff after 10-11 hours. Makes me wish I’d gotten a bigger size.

kittyyyyyyy

Oh man, I'm not sure what happened here.

I apply it & all of the florals & the fruits & the vanilla are completely null. I don't believe that I'm getting any coffee either. It's an acrid, sharp, dirty fragrance on my skin. It makes me dizzy. It reminds me of the interior of my father's old car (I would breathe through my mouth to avoid the car smell lol.) Like seatbelts, if that makes any sense to you. I think that it may be some combination of the musk & coriander...?

Time buffs the sharpness from it, but it retains that mungy quality. The gentler notes hide underneath & are never quite able to escape.

I was very excited to try this perfume, with how soft & introverted it was supposed to be, but unfortunately it was victim to my chemistry !

francesco_grieco

Noa by Cacharel is a velvety white floral fragrance. While it avoids any unpleasant notes and doesn't come across as cheap, it lacks personality and results overly intimate and subdued.

ClaraMorgon

This is a nice clean fragrance, doesn’t last too long and it reminds me of Jlo glow. Still ok fragrance. I was looking for a clean still feminine and with more depth, I tried a bunch and my total favorite is Mont Blanc signature 💕💕

Scorpio Queen

This review is for the reformulation. I have never tried the original. This was not what I was expecting or hoped it would be, from the description or positive reviews from others. It started out smelling floral, fresh, clean, rather bland and inofensive, then the coriander note kicked in. I have found that this is a note I need to avoid in perfume, as for some reason, if I can detect it, it turns my stomach and makes me feel nauseous. It's prominent in Noa. As for Coffee, I pick up a hint of it in the dry down, but it's hardly noticeable. If like me, you dislike coriander in fragrances then I would definitely avoid this one. As for the scent as a whole, it smells clean, powdery, unobtrusive, and unfortunately very boring, in my opinion.

emmisdagbok

Found this in my mom's perfume collection and I absolutely adore it. It's a beautiful clean flowery scent with a cozy warmth from the base notes. It stays very close to the skin so it's perfect for everyday wear.
Smells kind of like my childhood library, calming and nostalgic. I feel like this could become my new signature scent.

IngridFitz

When I saw the notes i thought this was going to be great! I love a good coffee scent as well as spices and some woods. It’s a beautiful bottle too, very different!
However, I’m hardly smelling anything. It’s almost like nothing is there. I’m not sure if I got a fake bottle or what but I’m so disappointed.
I’ll let this sit for a bit and see how it goes but if it continues to just smell like nothing I’ll have to toss it. I’m wondering if anyone else has this issue.

swedishmilk15

Getting vanilla and coffee coming through for the first time today. Really beautiful. Usually all I get is musk and freesia, nothing exciting. It's raining today. Humidity might help this one.

Saveria

*From someone who doesn't like coffee*

I'm sorry but I don't agree with the extatic reviews: Noa is a floral, heavy and thick perfume that I never liked.

Now that I see the pyramid, I understand better; I hate coffee! Even in small doses, my nose detects it automatically (precisely or not) and it has to be really well worked (or drowned out by the other ingredients) for me to appreciate it in a perfume, which is extremely rare.

Everyone wore it when I was a teenager, a real nightmare. Worse, my father gifted it to me thinking I would be pleased!

I finally managed to sell it recently (more than 20 years later), with great difficulty because people wrinkled their noses when they smelled it (true). I understand them.

jeannebelmondo

Not a good pick for those who dislike the scent of baby powder. The initial blast of this smells just like Dove powder fresh deodorant for women. The drydown even smells like Nivea lotion. If those are appealing to you, then it's a good pick, but definitely not what I was looking for.

Also smells nothing like Gap Close, like at all. Not even remotely in the same scent family. Those 37 people hopefully understand that the point of the Fragrantica voting system is not to suggest things that just have a similar looking bottle.

KateStefano

This is stunning. Baby powder, soft, feminine, makes me want to wrap up in my baby blue fluffy jumper and climb into bed with a lavender tea. However, it doesn’t project and it doesn’t last. I wouldn’t mind no projection as such if it lasted longer, but it’s there and it’s gone again in less than an hour on my skin. My 100ml bottle lasted less than a month for me because I sprayed loads. I wore it to work and it was lovely for that but I had to top up. I wish there was a proper dupe for this because I’d wear it all day long. I know I’m a millennial and people hate us, but I love the late 90s/00s perfume so much. They were just better then ❤️

sweet_teenagedream

This is just magical✨ I can’t even really say what it smells like. Soft and and the most beautiful and gentle musk🪽 Like a freshly made white sheet Bed on a spring/summer morning and the windows are open, so a ray of sunshine is coming in🤍 Like you’ve just had a bath and now you’re all clean and wrapped in a white bathrobe🤍 All it took for me, was to watch a few reviews on this Gem and I was sold. I ordered it almost immediately. Even if I wasn’t going to like it (though i was very sure I would😊) i was gonna keep it solely for the absolut art of a bottle, just chefs kiss🤌🏻 and the price for this perfume is a steal. Can’t believe this perfume has been around for such a long time and withstood the stand of time. It has everything you could wish for, the juice inside is so so amazing and so is the bottle, the price is unbeatable for everything you’re getting with this. It might not be a beast mode fragrance, but it does last 3 hours, then it gets quieter and lingers around you. Spraying your robe or your hair works amazingly. Can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t line this or could get offended by it.

Augustarina

Given what I paid for this, it's surprisingly lovely and well-crafted! It's one of the few 'florals' that I like.

In the first few minutes there's almost a citrusy vibe going on, and then suddenly it's peach, freesia and peony, gorgeous. After only 15 minutes I can detect a lovely warm vanilla. It doesn't seem to last long, so frequent sprays are necessary but I'm so glad I picked it up. It's quite different from my usuals.

bbkay

To me this leans way more floral than musky. There is a slight creaminess, but it takes a few hours to show up & creamy is not the first word that comes to mind when I think of this perfume.

I don’t like how sharp the opening is, it’s very strong & there’s something about it that’s just off putting. Once it fades though, this is actually very nice. I think I’ll like it even more as a summer scent — in the cold air, the sharpness lingers more. I’ll probably start layering this with another musk to soften it. All in all, it’s pretty. If you’re interested in this scent as someone who is primarily a musk wearer — this may not be as safe of a blind buy as people are saying. For everyone else, go for it.

chancespoon

I find it so comforting, calming and clean. I went through a number of bottles and will repurchase for sure. It reminds me of the minimalistic 90s style and I love it. It's fresh, clean, musky and floral, but not romantic or girly. Such a good every day scent and one of my all time favourites.

angievoicu

Reminds me of Anais Anais wich i hate. I am using it as room spray because i really do not like it. Not my style at all although i love clean and fresh fragrances. To me this is not clean nor fresh. But to each their own.

First impression: Blind Buy

I have to say that the bottle of this perfume it's gorgeous, looks so cute that's why I actually decided to get it since I'm not so fond of floral fragrances.

I got a 100ml bottle from 2016, it was kind of a bargain so I couldn't miss the deal. When I sprayed it I got this instant freshness and after one hour or so it turns into a more delicate soapy vibes perfume, for some reason I recall my grandmother with it even though she never used Noa but the vibes I get with the perfume remind me of her as it provides me some sort of calmness when I use it.

Lasting power on me it's moderate about 5 to 6 hours at most and being generous with the atomizations. ☺️🌷

Sophia97

This fragrance is one of my favorites. It gives such cozy warm vibes. Takes you to another place, literally. It's a must buy if you love clean fresh fragrances.

angelbeast

My gorgeous little orb! It's like they put comfort in a bottle...fresh without being green, fruity without being sweet, soapy without being common, creamy without being gourmand. It's light and subtle, but says all it needs to. And the bottle...! Just looking at it gives me a frankly unreasonable amount of joy. So cute and round. You will not regret letting this little orb into your life 🔮

Ninubs

It's a bit dusty on the skin. My husband thinks it smells like an old closet

celi

A minimalistic, clean smelling fragrance that reflects the taste of the late 90's. All you get is musk and some indistinguishable soft flowers that never steal the scene. A little twist in the drydown with the discernable coffee note and that is all. It smells very clean and pure but a bit outmoded and even cheap to me. Positive or negative associations apart, I doubt many people smelling it for the first time today would by wowed, but I also doubt it could offend anyone .

in.awe

Warm temperatures brings out the sensual plum, tonka and incense notes and I get lots of compliments!
On cool days it smells simple and generic.

JoeyA

I always receive compliments when wearing this fragrance. It's a very soft, clean, soapy scent, suitable for all ages. Great for the office.

Stinkynuts

clean fresh soapy scent... just got this in a box of stuff from my grandmother who passed... pleasant smell, would be good for work or church, not sexy, just clean fresh floral... this is by far the best IMO out of the three in the box, others were both from Estee Lauder, "Beautiful", and "Pleasures", Pleasures is another decent smelling floral, not as good as this though IMO... "Beautiful" smells exactly like youd expect an overweight old granny who wears way too much makeup and perfume to smell like.. the sort of scent you can smell when youre following in the car behind them and its still giving you a headache...its not "Beautiful" in any way... this scent however is quite nice....

valolopez

This is pure nostalgia for me. It is 1998 in a bottle. I was gifted a little round bottle of Noa back then by my aunt, and I remember it being one of those interesting-but-not-for-me fragrances for my 12-year-old self. I wore it very few times before the cap on the spray nozzle fell off, and was I unable to spray it ever again. Now in my thirties, I got my hands on it and it is such a beautiful scent! It has a complexity to it that I couldn't appreciate back then. I'm usually not crazy about powdery florals, but Noa has a depth to it that makes it intriguing, particularly the tonka beans, which are not revealed until the very end. It is warm and clean, and floral and woody, but not spicy or cloying or soapy.

diego.lesgart

janeway

Opens with white florals, settles into a cloud of musk. I didn't get any rose or green notes on my skin (I did feel those on the paper strip though), just very creamy white florals with a side of sweetness. It's a bit too sweet for my taste, would give me a headache if I sprayed more than one spray. Nice soft sleep scent as it resembles those classic lotions my mum used to wear, maybe like more expensive Nivea cream. Inoffensive, safe and stood the test of time.

Elisjah

Even after not smelling her for 20 years, so recognizable! But I experienced that with all the older scents from Cacharel, all have their own character. On the other hand, fragrances of today, you only have to walk into the Douglas and the overall sweet odour meets you. Noa is also sweetish, but very soft and powdery floral. The funny thing is, if you pay attention to it, you can really smell the coffee smell, there are freesias on the table. It's like waking up in the morning and someone downstairs has already turned on the coffee for you. You can't really smell it, but you can, somewhere far away, a little whiff. And then you get that homely comfortable feeling that all is well today:) And we looooovveee our coffee in the Netherlands, maybe that's why Noa is still everywhere here.

rene.saller

Noa is tied with Anais Anais, also by Cacharel, as my current favorite bedtime fragrance--perfect after showering and moisturizing before unwinding in bed before sleep. I think Noa would also be an excellent choice in a professional setting because it smells more like the residue of floral soap and lotion on very clean skin than it smells like perfume. (You could even wear it surreptitiously in settings where perfume is forbidden, not that I would encourage anyone in office subterfuge.) The lactonic notes and the faintest touch of coffee are also comforting, like being in bed while a household begins to stir pleasantly and unobtrusively in the background. Maybe that's why the associations are so pleasant for me--it reminds me of being under clean cotton sheets and soft blankets at my grandparents' house, lazing and dozing while they murmured and drank their percolated coffee in the kitchen.

Mona Lygre

Yes, we have got the Siberian icecold weather, as promised from the weatherforecast, right now, 23.25 in the evening, it's minus - 23,5° C outside, near Dokka, Norway, and,

I'm sniffing this little beauty, I bought a mini some weeks ago, and, l'm as happy as I can be,

I sniffed this perfume back in about 1998, and felled in love with it, but, l never could afford it, also I had my second baby boy,

when l could afford it, it was gone in the shops, but now, I MUST BY A BIGGER BOTTLE!!!

swedishmilk15

Noa is an easy-to-wear white floral, very beautiful. Cool, soft, and serene. I don't detect coffee distinctly, and I prefer it that way. I also have Noa Fleur. I find them similar indeed.

ingrid.superstar

A drawing of a Picasso dove and a love letter scrawled on the mirror with a cake of luxe soap -- that dull-squeaky, wet-chalky sound. ASMR for the nose. Figuratively thumbing its perfect nose at all post-modern perfumery trying to smell like hot fuses, hot marshmallows, hot espresso, and neutered plants. Perfect soap, and gone just as soon...

I used to e-thrift for vintage Liberty-print Cacharel day dresses when I was a teenager — now I know what they smell like.

stinkyfrog

noa is precious: it's floral, calming, nostalglic and clean. something about the powdery flowery opening and ambery dry down is totally reminiscent of the 90s and i really enjoy it. the coffee note is what initially intrigued me and, although it doesn't stand out loudly on its own, it's definitely there and adds a layer of interest to the fragrance. i bought this to wear to bed after my nighttime shower - it's just perfect!! not to mention the bottle is fabulous. i have a 30ml and it's become my little emotional support orb 🫧

tip: layering this over top of a musk perfume oil (i LOVE auric blends' egyptian goddess) reeeally elevates the entire fragrance. i find it adds a seductive sweetness that's missing from this scent and intesifies the coffee/woodsy notes, making it more wearable for me personally. i also find this greatly improves the longevity and sillage - tried this combo before bed and it smelled just as strong the next morning as it did upon first application. this pairing is a heart eyes for me :)

Toady89

Noa is a time capsule in the best possible way. I remember very clearly my visits to the dentists as a child in the 90s, where they would have magazines, like Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire, in the waiting area and they had fragranced ad pages. I remember seeing an ad for Noa and smelling the page and thought it was the most sophisticated classy smell. How I envisioned rich people smelled like. I have always found it classy and "expensive" smelling.
Few months ago I bought a bottle to see if it still had the nostalgic effect. It did,but to me it didnt smell right on my skin. I knew it wasnt the perfume as it smelled fine on paper, air and clothes. Almost gave it up but I persevered.
I recently tried it again and lo and behold, that nostalgic magical scent that I so craved returned. This is a beautiful musky green scent. It's clean, calm and tranquil. It's not loud or brash. It's classy and understated.
It is a must have for anyone who enjoys clean "your skin but better" scents and it's a beauty that I will never let go of.

fangpili

This is somewhat boring but my daughter loves it on me as it has a fresh, linen clean, soft, slightly warm and comforting scent, fairly reminiscent of Dove body lotion. It dries down to a creamier, more rounded scent. The main notes I can discern are white musk, freesia, very faint lily and, as it settles, cedar. This is not groundbreaking but is ''fresh out of the shower'' clean, only suitable for daytime and very safe and calm.

renzhina.eugenia

Wow, Cacharel. One more beauty by you in my wardrobe!
My personal fluffy musky cloud dove-soap kind of fragrance. So gentle, so clean. I imagine this as both good wedding and motherly fragrance at the same time. Or a fragrance that represents fluffiness and tenderness, cuddling. Was very afraid to be anosmic to it (as a lot of people report), but luckily I am not. I like it better than NR musks which I was also testing looking for my musk fragrance. And the price.. can't be better :)
The bottle is GORGEOUS. I am usually totally indifferent to bottles but it is aaahhhh!!
I really want but never can smell coffee here. I am also a bit confused as a lot of people can. And you know, coffee has quite a distinct and strong smell. But still no coffee for me. Let it be

nomi00

I wear this to uni and work sometimes. simple, clean, comforting and inoffensive but doesn't smell like straight up soap either – more like a very clean, sophisticated and innocent angel wearing an old school luxurious lotion and a freshly washed silk robe lol. Very approachable! This is also my introvert scent on days where I dont want anything on me to stand out too much
(also the bottle is so cute c: )

Angaby17

Horrible salida para despues surge lo bonito y desaparece , no me gusto lo regrese

Rozalina

Inoffensive, clean scent. The coffee provides a little warmth. This smells like the 90's. Noa was nice to throw on after a shower, but I won't purchase it again.

AdalynEverly

First Impressions: (On paper)
Okay definitely soapy. I could've sworn I've smelled this perfume before.
Edit:
Definitely nostalgic. I wonder if someone in my life has smelled this way before, like a librarian or a chic classy woman when I was a toddler. has a creamy lotiony vibe to it, almost like a babies head. The coffee makes it more interesting, and makes it full bodied I guess you could say. It kind of smells like if you woke up, you still smell lotion on your skin, and you smell coffee brewing in the distance. I will say this, this is way better than Lanvin Oxygene I had. This almost smells like a piece of paper to me, or am I tripping? Definitely very comforting.
Edit 2:
Ooo I’m in love. This is a molecular fragrance in that it makes me smell like I have good hormones, or you have a warm hug. I wonder if Narciso Rodriguez was inspired by this perfume, and made his perfumes more likeable to this one. I also admire the bottle and the atomizer is absolutely shockingly good considering the price point. This is a full bodied musk with a slight toasted warmth to it that intrigues me. If y’all know anything like this message me suggestions. This also last longer, but the projection isn’t the best I will say.

Voted 8.89 by me second opinion compared to to a guiletta which is 8.5

Beautiful is the right word for this parfume, maybe some of people can't stand with this clean sweet soapy fragrant but if u wanna be had a girly vibe u can try this parfume.

PorcelainDolly2003

I absolutely love this fragrance, I have a strict job that doesn't allow me to wear perfume but this one goes undetected. It is a very "clean skin" fragrance but fresh and soapy at the same time. Beautiful scent

HerGoldenSecret

Dove body lotion with a hint of coffee - such a warm and lovely perfume. ☺️

HoneySmoke889

Gorgeous, better than I thought it would be. I love how the opening smells like hairspray. It reminds me of watching the older girls getting ready backstage at a dance recital or sneaking into your older sister's bedroom. It smells familiar and nostalgic, I'm sure I've smelt it before sometime in my life. I love how the notes meld together for me, flowing, airy but rich, creamy, light, feminine, clean and comforting. It's a win for me!

oxeslevy

It's a quite nice sprayed on right after a bath. Lovely classic lotion smell.. maybe too sweet for me to describe it as clean. I find the freesia makes this a bit dated but luckily it is one of the first notes to fade on me.
All in all I find it mild, mellow and quite comforting. Definitely get the Nivea/lotion creaminess.
I'm not getting the incense unfortunately but I do get a hint of coffee... it's not a barista coffee... more like the dregs of milky instant coffee in a polystyrene cup, which I quite like!
I'm thinking this could layer well with other fragrances.
It's nice for the price. If I could up the incense and decrease the floral and sweetness it could be a winner!

clairesque

This fragrance punches above its weight. It smells incredibly sophisticated and expensive. Noa is delicate florals and peach, underscored by a slight sweetness and the smoothest skin-mimicking musk that rivals even the Chanel musks. It's definitely a "perfumey" scent and not a true skin-scent, but wearing it makes you smell more like you are wearing a delicately perfumed lotion than a perfume.

My only issue with this fragrance is that it does remind me of the perfume my grandmother used to wear. I cannot wear it without feeling like an elderly woman. If it weren't for that, I think I'd have a new signature scent.

an_baum

@Jessie James below described it as a cloud watching event and i must agree. it feels like the lightest of pencil sketches on a notebook with round edges- from the whisper of opening plum to the rosier heart, it floats in known subtlety.

edit: something i like about this is that somehow, despite its bubbly-bathedness, it's 100% a morning perfume for me. i think its the sneaky, nearly undetectable coffee note that makes it pair great with actual coffee. it's meant for open kitchen windows on a blue crisp day, a cup o' Joe, & toast.

this smells just like A Drop Dissey by Issey Miyake mixed with My Glow By Jlo… how come no one has mentioned that ????

Amethystery

This reminds me of having coffee at my cool aunt's house in the early 00s. Maybe this was her perfume at the time, maybe it was just the naturally fragrant air of her kitchen; peonies on the windowsill, nag champa incense burning in a corner, wafts from the open spice rack above the stove and the sense that the oven had recently been baking something sweet. This perfume is nostalgic yet timeless, the perfect cozy scent to wear when you feel the need to stay in and romanticise a gray afternoon.

cawico7

Tested this out twice, because I really thought I would have liked it, and honestly I'm kind of horrified. No idea what is causing this, but this smells like straight up paint thinner on me, and just disappears right afterward. I guess skin chemistry can play tricks even on the most innocent sounding scents. Anybody else?

JoPolsdottir

I can't get enough of this scent. It is clean, warm, nurturing and elegant. Sensual, even, and inoffensive. Musky, floral, with some sweetness and warmth from the coffee. It reminds me of parties with my parents when I was a kid in the 90ies, with elegant ladies chatting and laughing, with scents of perfume, make-up and coffee lingering in the air. Still it feels completely timeless and something I can wear anytime, anywhere.
I love, love, love this gem. This sphere with the floating pearl is precious to me.

Gail14

Noa is a soft, clean girly fragrance! Great for a Summer day! I don't get the coffee note, but I like it anyway! :)

Hypnotic Flower

This smells so good, very clean and creamy and reminds me of Tous (silver) which I love. I don't own it but every time I smell it it makes me happy.

scatteredshowers

I wanted to like this, but it just didn't work for me. I keep getting distinct whiffs of baby wipes; as a rose lover, this is often a risk but usually doesn't bother me as much as it does with Noa. Noa Fleur sometimes has this issue though not as noticeably and it doesn't put me off. It also doesn't remind me that much of Nivea Creme, and although it definitely falls into the category of what I consider 'lotion' scents, it's too light to really feel creamy or rich. It feels like it vanishes less than an hour or two after I put it on and I can barely smell it on myself. There's also a strong alcohol scent when I first apply it. Maybe it's just my miniature, who knows...

Edit: If you're searching for a Nivea Creme smell-alike, try Solinotes Cotton Flower (listed as Cotton Blossom on fragrantica).

Sassafras23

It really does smell like that Nivea cream! It also reminds me Incanto in part: they do share many ingredients (musk, peony, peach skin, plum, lily (albeit red for Incanto), jasmine, sandalwood) and a simple bottle aesthetic - colour free, rounded, and flowing. Incanto is fruitier while Noa definitely develops with more complexity or contrast. Coffee I do smell in it at later stages as well as some spice.

AMcK

Powdery and soapy, as Exclamation by Coty, IMO

I first smelled this perfume on a 60ish year old lady a few years ago. I kept thinking I was getting whiffs of her hand lotion every time she walked by and assumed it was probably Nivea or something a little more high end. I kept running into her at different family events and was always catching whiffs of her "lotion" and the more I smelled it the more I liked it. I finally asked what that smell was. She told me it was her perfume, called Noa. Well, I'm in my 30s, she's in her 60s, so I thought to myself "sorry but I won't be buying an old lady perfume for myself", even though I thought it was actually pretty nice. And that was that.

Fast forward to last month - I was sitting on a boat with this same lady on a warm, sunny summer day and again I kept getting whiffs of her perfume. This time I thought to myself "fuck it, I'm getting myself a bottle." When I got home the next day I ordered one.

After wearing it myself, I no longer think of it as a nice "old lady" scent. It actually reminds me so so much of being a teen in the late 90s/early 2000s, it's so nostalgic and just beautiful. It's soft and creamy and smells "white". Pure and innocent. Carefree. Bright and happy. I used to wear Close by Gap back in high school and Noa reminds me a lot of that one, only softer and way better.

As I mentioned earlier, it smells like a nice body/hand lotion. In that way I would say it smells clean and fresh, but definitely not clean or fresh in a lemon cleaner type of way. This is a creamy, soft, powdery, dreamy, girl next door type. It gives off vibes of a laid back sunny summer day. It is the epitome of a "white t-shirt and jeans" type of scent.
I want to lay on the grass and watch the fluffy white clouds float on by when I'm wearing this. It's so calming and comforting. It'll bring back childhood memories, I guarantee it.

I ended up really falling in love with this perfume. It quickly went from a motherly, old lady scent to a youthful, full of life, bright sunny day. It's a breath of fresh air.

morphoevgenia

Funny thing: I smelled it in the store, walked away, but then was thinking about it for months until I purchased it. For me it is all about bath. It smells like true cleanness of a warm towel and bubble bath. It is mainly florals but blended well, like in the original Nivea blue tin cream, when all comes together, and you brain doesn’t divide it on notes. It is also slightly bitter in the air after spraying. The pearl shape is adorable and conveys a right message. Longevity is meh. It lives in my bathroom, I cannot imagine myself wearing it for a day, as a main perfume.

Thykes10

This is a clean musky scent right from the start. It has a powdery aspect as well though. I feel like I can pick up slightly on the coriander and coffee. I definitely pick up on an overall cozy vibe but not as creamy or "fresh" feeling as I thought it would be. It has decent projection for about 3 hours but by the 6 hour mark it's barely detectable to my nose, even as a skin scent. This one's not for me but it is interesting and I can see why it might be preferred by others.

Kinzie31

In my hunt for a modern, soft, clean perfume I tested this in store, but unfortunately it wasn’t for me.

It felt a bit old-fashioned in its style, so if you are sensitive to that sort of impression in fragrances then this may not be for you. But I do not mean that in a negative way - there are many well done fragrances that are more traditional in their style, and should be appreciated. I think I am looking for something a bit sweeter.

Mangaetteok

If anybody has a Vintage 30ml of this or similar small bottle of the Pre Reform Cacharel Noa, well I loved it so v much, & it's so nostalgic for me, reminds me of when I recieved gifts from my Grandmother-esque Relative who was such a huge part of my childhood too- & have many on my swap list, minus 1 spray only & most of them are amazing (I love those too, in my Collection but a lot of gourmandes or deeper perfumes I cannot wear - the Original Cacharel Noa was perfection to me & the musk note isn't usually something I'm particularly interested in, but this was sublime. Love!

(For anybody like me, who "hates peach" in perfumes; well I just don't smell peach (per se) in this at all. Not a specific peach note, at all & the "fruit" part is v subdued altogether really, & this is so well blended, the original was a Masterpiece & the reformulation is still pretty good)

pamelalasalle110

The bottle is gorgeous. I bought this perfume because of the coffee and incense notes posted, neither of which I found here. There are a lot of notes listed that I didn't detect. All I get is a sort of clean musky odor , very similar to baby oil. A skin scent that lasts minutes on me.

Saffron pink

I definitely get the similarities to TF White Suede, however this is way more bar soap once it’s settled. It’s very pleasant, clean and kind of angelic imo. A luxe Nivea cream?
It’s nice. It’s simple. I like it
the longevity is moderate

doya

I like it, smells clean but really soapy, literally like soap. A nice one, but still a soap and I someetimes feel like smelling that way, but I find it only for day use and mostly casual activities like when going for a walk or to a store or to sit for a coffee with friends. Oh, and office safe, uninsulting even if you happen to overspray.

hypnone

I love this fragrance. On me it smells like the perfect subdued "clean" soapy fragrance. It is very light, as well. The only criticism I have of it is that it has very poor longevity.

Lotte_Liese

This is quite a predictable fragrance- I smell pink florals, white florals, musk, powdery vanilla, a tad bit of greenness and a whole truck load of musk. It is ageless.

Mangaetteok

If anybody has a Vintage 30ml of this or similar small bottle of the Pre Reform Cacharel Noa, well I loved it so v much, & it's so nostalgic for me, reminds me of when I recieved gifts from my Grandmother-esque Great Aunt (my parents were older & both sets of Actual Grandparents were long gone before I was born) & my Aunt who was such a huge part of my childhood too, gave me this one (+ a beautiful, pale gold faux Chloe mini backpack when I was ten fir my Birthday) & I loved both so much in, oh, 1999 it was (when perfumes were still amazing quality & I was still a child really) - & have many on my swap list, if you'd like to look, most only minus 1 spray - & most are amazing, take your pick, though I love those too, in my Collection, love them all! (but a lot of gourmandes or deeper perfumes I cannot wear for more than 1hr so am happy to swap whichever) - bc to me, this, the Original Cacharel Noa was perfection, in it's category & I loved it from the first moment I used it - the musk note (which isn't usually something I'm particularly interested in, I think) was just sublime (& never bettered) re the Original - & I miss the Original Cacharel Noa v much (the reform is still good, but the original was just gorgeous) a Masterpiece as only Cresp could; & even then, he did something v special here
(& pure nostalgic fluffiness,
to me..) Love🙏🙏

fwuity

the definition of a soft, powdery, fresh floral; it has a slightly sharp quality i would describe as soapy or spicy green, like a split open green pepper. the bottle does a great deal to sell the fragrance (i confess i bought it mainly based on appearance), but the scent deserves credit as well. it feels like the cooling sensation of rubbing lotion into your skin, soft scent of flowers blooming as they warm to your touch, then slipping into clean bedclothes, lighting a candle before bedtime while you rest against luxurious pillows. my partner says it smells like sunscreen, and i agree—not a suffocating oily sunscreen, but that lightness of cream on sun-kissed skin. i've always found something endearing about girls with hair on their forearms, and this gives me a similar impression—a tenderness, soft fuzziness, a demure femininity. like a beauty spot, a little treasure.

Saarahfragrance

So fresh and musky! I love how It smells on the skin and it lasts way longer than it does on clothes. It smells so similar to dove soap but more sophisticated. I definitely think it's an old school smell with the powdery dry done and I had to buy one for my mom because she loves it.

Problem is that it doesn't last or project ):

Leila22920

If ever I had a signature scent, it would be this one. I finished 3 bottles of Noa in 6 months. It’s the perfect soap. My partner says it smells like expensive nivea cream on me (oxymoron, I know). I usually wear it to bed on a clean matching pyjama set after a hot shower. I spritz it all over me and go to sleep. I think there isn’t a single fragrance in the world my partner and I love more than this on me.

I love soap. Cleanliness, soap and comforting showers have always been my way of self-soothing and this is exactly what Noa smells of. Soap for those who associate cleanliness with comfort. It’s also such a steal in a very 90s artsy bottle. If it were made today, it would be by some kind of niche house for £300+. We are lucky to still have this gem by Oliver Cresp for cheap.

Consider this my love letter to Noa. May this fragrance never be discontinued.

Rose1412

The first spray smelled like hand sanitizer, but later it developed into a smell of Nivea cream. Lovely.

mothmama

Everything about this perfume reminds me of sweet, fancy, flowery soap/clean bedsheets with a hint of Nivea cream and that's exactly why I like it! I was looking for a clean spring/summer fragrance and Noa is just what I was looking for. On my skin it lasts about 4 hrs with small to moderate sillage. Noa is mostly a day scent although I do see myself spraying some on my pj's before bed because the smell is very comforting. I think it's a safe blind buy if you like soapy fragrances.

sweet2mechii

This perfume smells like mom. She must've worn it when she was younger. It worked so well with her skin chemistry and mine too, it's like being cuddled in freshly washed and warm bedding.

gigihadidm

It's a fragrance that smells amazing on everyone. OK, but unfortunately it was terrible on my skin. To be fair to Noa, it's not for me.

Maha1985

I like it i would have loved it if they had emitted the peppery coriandery stuff that ruined it for me and it most definetly isnt a base note but a very obvious top note . What was the thought process here ? It smells beautifully musky and creamy but needs more coriander ?

Red Jaguar

I blind bought this based on reviews and scent profile, but unfortunately it didn't work on me. It's great value, very soft, but all it reminds me of is those little tree car fresheners, the blue one that is supposed to smell like "new car". It makes me a little nauseous and not really anything I feel like I want to smell like. Maybe it's the combination of grass musk and incense, I'm not sure. Also perhaps the original formulation was better.

Pizdrik-cik-cik

It's horrible. I blindly bought it because of all the soapy comments. I was looking for something clean like Castile or Marseille but this is a cheap floral scent that screams CHEAP. I get the lotion comments but it's just not clean, it's like “I didn't shower today so I'm gonna pour this flowery wc spray on myself and pretend I'm clean.

étoilesdejasmin

This perfume for me, is a gorgeous example of the deeper facets of olfactory memories… This is the perfume my mother wore when she gave birth to me. She sprayed it before she went into the hospital. When I discovered that as you can imagine I ran to smell it.
So very clean, and I ought to say with disappointment I did not experience a mystical regression to infant-hood.

SailorRoss

Primarily a vintage white floral scent. I never picked up on the coffee note. After reading reviews I was hoping for a more comforting aroma, but I had to wash it off after developing a headache. A positive is the aesthetic of the bottle, which looks good on my vanity. It also reminds me of my great-grandma who passed away in the 90s, so I will keep it even if I won’t wear it. My batch number says it’s from 2020.

Maria19

Even though the fragrance notes can be shared with others, the perfume is beautifully simple. When I found out that Olivier Crisp is behind the fragrance, I bought without testing. On my skin the scent is sensual and slightly musky and also elegant. The bottle describes this fragrance so well. I can imagine myself wearing a white shirt and jeans with this scent.

Jordan 99

I just got my 3rd bottle, I have been wearing Noa and Noa fleur last 20 years and non of my perfumes got me as many compliments as Noa. It’s very musky, lightly floral, cozy, soft feminine scent. Not too sweet just right. I don’t get any green notes or green grass. I would say it’s pretty much boring scent but on other hand there isn’t anything similar and I would recognize it between hundreds of scents. So good luck imagining boring unique scent. I love Noa slightly more than Noa fleur, it’s one of few perfumes I always have to have in my collection. EDIT 03/27/23: My third bottle smells different, I don’t know if it is old or reformulated, so now I understand those polarized reviews 😞

whisperology

I'm shocked by how much I love this. How can a fragrance be so clean smelling whilst still creamy and sweet? It's calming, it's cozy, it's getting in to a freshly made bed after a bath. It's not just fresh linen, it's what I wish every 'fresh linen' candle, air freshener, etc would actually smell like rather than the sharp detergent smell we all know.

The base notes are what make this feminine and even sexy. When I think fresh, I don't think vanilla, tonka bean, and coffee - but they work. This is a work of art to me. :)

Office and school appropriate. Everyone will just think you smell clean, maybe not even think you are wearing a fragrance because it could pass as the fanciest fabric softener ever.

Lasts 5-6 hours on my skin.

rosetinteddream

I added a review a year ago with a newer 50 ml formulation but I got a 100 ml bottle from 2000 and wow! 🤩☁️

I still can’t pick out the florals. I get a “sense”, no pun intended, of peony and lily of the valley. And only a hint of anything green. The florals are really well blended and I like that. Despite loving the scent of many flowers in real life when I smell them, in perfumery they have to be really high quality for me to be into them singularly standing out. Anywho. The musk is extremely present, from beginning to end for me. In the beginning it almost gives it an aldehyde vibe, or perhaps clean laundry. It’s not off putting nor does it smell like a fabric softener, it’s very comforting.

Once it starts getting to final stages, I can actually get a whiff of that coffee! It’s very faint, not meant to be a strong note, more a supporting character. And I believe it’s a coffee bean. It mixes with the vanilla very well, giving this vibe of drinking a vanilla latte while sitting on a plush sofa. You’re wearing a white scarf and have a cashmere blanket on you, and it’s a cold day that you don’t have to leave your home. Ahhhh. I get a slight hint of the coriander because for some reason when I sniff this I get the faintest and I meant faintest little hint of the opening of my beloved Dior Homme Eau. I don’t get the incense so much unless it’s before the stick is lit. I do get the tonka and sandalwood though. There’s a hint of…hmm, sweetness? There’s also cedar so I can smell hints of wood, but they are faint and blended in very well.

It’s angelic. It’s cozy. It’s comforting. It’s puffy clouds. It’s cashmere. It’s the clean laundry at your moms or grandmas that always smelled so good, maybe in the linen closet or hanging on the line. It’s a vanilla latte, outside in the snow in a white coat/hat/gloves/scarf aesthetic. It’s creamy lotion on exfoliated skin. It’s, quite simply, ethereal.

I bought it as a stand in for Chanel’s 1957. And although I will eventually get a full bottle of that, I hope to always have a bottle of this. It’s just so nice. Especially on days when I am not feeling my sensual and sexy patchoulis, or my refreshing and get shit done greens.

Also, yes, Noa is more “feminine” but please wear what you like and what suits your tastes and mood, don’t worry about the associations or what others think. If I did, I’d never have found this.

🥀

Soapyscent

I love this one. It's divine. It's everything that I wanted it to be. Noa is soapy but combined with creamy notes that makes the perfume very comforting and luxurious. I have the little bottle but I'm going to have to purchase the big one since I can't get enough of it. It's also very long lasting on me.

yadzee

Started my journey in perfumery with Cacharel. Loulou and Scarlet (missing this so much) were my signatures, Anais Anais was my basic. Noa I brought in my collection very recently.
My nose is quite poorly, I smell a smell very shortly. Due to compliments ànd complains I know that my fragrances are still on me. I have the tendency to overspray.
As far as I can tell Noa is a soft white floral perfume that isn’t overly sweet. I smell musk, freesia plus other flowers and sweetness.
I hope when I wear Noa, that it is a nice experience for the other persons in the room. One compliment for now.

Iveta IBM

I must admit I am quite biased on this one.
Back when I was a 10-year-old in the late 90s in a small Eastern-European town, someone gifted a teeny tiny bottle of Noa Cacharel to my sister for her prom. I remember being so intoxicated by this fragrance, at the time it was the most luxurious scent I have smelled. I used every opportunity I got to "borrow" this from my sister's drawer and take a sniff (I wouldn't even think of actually applying some, she would have killed me).
Fast forward 15 or so years later when I accidentally tried this in Sephora. Keep in mind I never actually knew the name of the fragrance, I hadn't seen the full size bottle and I hadn't used it after my sister had it but I was instantly dead sure this was it. It is absolutely amazing to me that the human mind is capable of keeping memories of scents for such a long time.
ANYWAY. About the actual fragrance:
I don't think this is a "sexy" scent, if that's what you're going for. To me, this is cozy, innocent and angelic. If fragrances were experiences, I'd say this smells like a coffee date with your best friend from childhood. It is also perfect for the office - it is soft and inoffensive without being bland and unnoticeable.
Bonus points - this is not currently a trending fragrance, it is not all over Tik Tok so you're not going to have everyone around you smelling like you.

ilydemirel

This perfume is so innocent. My man loves it. Sometimes, i just say "oh thats perfume not for me" but that musky-creamy vibe drives me crazy. My bottle is empty. Probably i'll take another one to.

Nemorivaga

Now this is a really interesting one, both because I thought I didn't like "soapy" scents, for example I couldn't stand Pure Poison, but also because this is probably the first scent I've felt compelled to buy despite only rating it as a "like". (Edit: It has kept growing on me and I love it now!)
I have had my eyes on this one before, since I love musk, and had a colleague speaking well of it, but after reading the rating and reviews here I put it on hold, then today I passed by a store and decided to smell it. And it's been such a pleasant surprise.

The prominent musk in this turns it into a very soft, warm and comforting scent.
Something about it also feels a bit nostalgic.
As if it triggers the feeling of a memory of folding fresh soft laundry out in the sun with my mom, despite not even being sure that's a real memory.
Not in the category of the types of scents I'm usually drawn towards, but it's a nice complement to the shelf. A nice scent with a good performance to a good price. Someone else here mentioned wearing this to bed after a shower and I definitely get that. But I don't find this to be a unisex scent, to me it feels feminine.

Not_a_perfume_junkie

First impression - blind buy.

Normally I hate soapy scents. This is not super soapy though. It's not bad but yeah, definitely soapy. I get soap and light florals. It's pretty and lady like.

Edit:

I gave it to my sister. It's just not me. I think it's pretty . My sister loves it. I knew it was a risky purchase. I literally bought it to smell it. I can see this as a beautiful wedding day perfume.

Fortyfree

Reviewing a vintage miniature, no pearl in the bottle.

Opens fresh, clean, floral and musky. Maybe some slight milky facets and a dusting of coffee (not strong, more Latte or capuccino-esque).

Green notes appear soon after. It's airy, outdoorsy, not really fruity, retains the musk but becomes slightly more lactonic.
Softens down quite quickly remaining clean and inoffensive, still a touch floral, creamy, powdery and feminine leaning (I don't get loads of Sandalwood though).

In terms of performance can't comment on the newer versions but this miniature is quiet and persistent, with slightly sweet, clean, milky, green wafts every now and then.

This is a feminine fragrance (but not overly so) that's a little old-school but safe for the office and most other occasions during the day and especially the morning. I would still try before you buy as always, mainly due to the throw-back feel it has.

jocing

Beautiful bottle and a pearl in the bottle make them stunning. The sprayer is tricky and hard to control them sometimes. It will make my hand full of perfume. That is the annoying part.

But this perfume is simple, smell elegant, warm, cotton, mild powdery, not too soapy and very skin like perfume. It is not strong and I love some minor minor coffee note are well blend and I detect some coffee behind them.
Is easy to wear, you can blind buy this.
It stay on my skin longer than my cloth and my skin are very friendly with this perfume.

I love it :)

forbes_mq

I don’t get half the notes listed. To me this is a very clean musk with some soft fresh florals in the background. Decent performance compared to other scents like it.

It’s a very unisex anytime and where any season type scent. If you like clean white musk you’ll love this!

Murba

I had this one in high school, but I don’t think I would come back to it. That peach note smells like something sweaty on me, like I’ve been sleeping with my yesterday’s clothes on.

Luxeefaith

I’m not an expert at this yet but I blind bought this because I’m on the hunt for some good soapy fragrances to elongate that fresh out the shower experience like j lo glow does but this wasn’t what I expected after all the recommendations like it’s not horrible and I tried so hard to like this! something about it is off to me I can’t put my finger on it…it is very vintage and mature with me being in my twenties and whenever i smell it, it just rings through my nose to the point where I can taste it strongly with small sprays I’m not sure what it is
But the bottle is adorable lol will be getting rid of this asap it also reminds me of Oscar Bella Blanca which I also wasn’t a fan of

DaringVictoria

I first discovered it in 2003, someone in office wore it but it was very subtle scent. It was kind of fresh and innocent odour of calm, trustful and confident individual, and I really liked to stay near aura of this scent.
Since then, I tried and I did not like it on me. I came back to it 5 year later and discovered that it wonderfully blends on my skin and I feel kind of clean, "pulled together" as a whole, relaxed and confident. I wear it to work and to crowded places when I want people felt comfortable around me. I wish I could found something similar which lasts longer than 3-4 hours....

car0

A bar of soap. Lasts decently on my skin (got around 6 hours), seems perfect to run errands as an after shower scent or just on one of those days where you want to smell just clean. It has that mix of a really nice soap, like hotel soap, and clothes that have a still lingering sweet-ish fresh fabric softener scent. It's definetly very musky, so if it's not your thing, beware. Also because of this note's previous behavior on my skin i'd definetly try it on first. This used to smell horrible on me when I was a teenager and I tried it in the perfume counter, now it is a very safe very clean scent that will be a perfect no-brainer so it probably doesn't give the most young girlie vibes. Definetly 90's so do know that's what you're getting, not coffee and definetly do not expect modern fruitchuli-esque sweetness near the musk. It leans even a bit green but definetly, as I started the review: a bar of soap.

jajakapitan

I had a bottle of this as a late teen and it smells like a harsh plastic to me. Didn’t enjoy wearing it at all. Rubbish sillage and longevity. Only redeeming feature is the bottle.

Bomber81

Soapy clean powder lovers: pair this with Dana's Chantilly and it is DIVINE after a shower, before bed.

Just throwing that out there.

Bmcbat

Personally, I'm not someone who is super into florals. This one here is possibly the most airy yet fresh floral that I've ever smelled from the 90's, and maybe even since then tbh.

Very much a white tshirt and jeans scent. Pleasant, not challenging to the masses, but unique enough for fragrance lovers to continue purchasing over 20 years past it's release.

Also: I only smell this on my skin after 2 hrs or so.

AshBud

I knew Noa had a reputation for smelling like soap and I bought it with the intention of having that freshly cleaned scent for warmer weather. It was a blind buy at a great sale price, and let me tell you, the bottle design is gorgeous! Very fitting of whats inside. It IS a very clean, soap and shampoo like fragrance. At first spray, I got straight astringent alcohol. It truly does take a good 3-5 to develop. Its slightly spicy and green, much like Irish Spring, and I would consider it unisex. That said, it does nothing for me and cannot see myself ever reaching for this. Sadly, it will be returned.

Kcbear28

So my first perfume was Beautiful by EL but my high school signature was Noa. Britney’s Baby One More Time was at its peak. I sprayed heavily before school, got told by the (pretentious) prefect to wash it off (she’s just jealous), sprayed again on first break, picturing myself Britney bursting out of the classroom, dancing wth my girlfriends in perfect harmony.

I loved the scent. It’s clean, youthful, comforting an versatile. It could do no wrong in my book.
Like many have mentioned, it’s soapy but in the best possible way. To me, the scent doesn’t intrigue you as such but triggers that comforting, fluffy and luxurious smell you wanna bury your face in lol. The performance is amazing. Projects like no ones business, silage is great and very long lasting. I have so many fragrances over the years and never got round to restock this. But maybe this year I will! Plus it’s Oliver Cresp, he can do no wrong in my book either lol Hit me baby, one more time!

banillavean

The first perfume I ever repurchased!!! Bought my first bottle in high school with the pocket allowance I managed to save:) I remember I got it with my best friend and sprayed it on my arm and I hated how it smelled (because I was too shy to test it before I buy- I know how dumb of me) and I almost cried so my friend consoled me by saying "it's not THAT bad" lol. Magic happened when I got home. This smells like the nicest most sophisticated wet wipe ever<3 Definitely not for warmer weather for me though. So clean in a way that's not soapy and shampooey. Do not blind buy like I did though as not everyone is a fan of this.

darkRoyalty

So let me tell you my story about this.. While going for my teen years favourite Cashmere Mist (which was weak & a shadow of its former self), I came across NOA and despite having worn hundreds of different perfumes I had never tried this one. I spritzed on my wrist at a local store and forgot about it after trying on heavier favs. But going back home it kept coming back to me. What was that? It reminded me of waking up in the late 90s/early 00s and wearing your jeans and tight DKNY crop top, your tiny stud earrings - ready to go out for a walk with your girlfriends to look at boys, very confident in the belief that you are young, beautiful, fresh, cool and you can have everything you want in life. It also brought memories of this cool girlfriend your older brother had and she had the wet hair and they were preparing to go out on a Saturday night in all of their glorious teen coolness. This also is surprisingly long-lasting and is now my morning perfume ;)

I wanted to love this one so much, and sniffing myself from afar, or just in movement, it smelled good. Clean and pretty. But when I raise my wrist to my nose I get pure, vegetal grass and green, in a not very pleasant way, not in a fresh way which I’d probably enjoy. A bit like smelling somebody’s back garden whilst they’ve got the laundry on. It doesn’t work for me, because I feel it should be one or the other.

chocolat

"Noa Cacharel" could have been inspired by the Walnut Tree during Spring, in my interpretation. The shape and the size of a 30ml. bottle I find as being reminiscent of a large, green Walnut fruit, as well. There could be found the scent of a Crab Apple fruit during the first phase, and this could make it a great fragrance for a walk or running in the park.
The fragrance itself is long-lasting and has great silage. I would describe it as a scent of warmth. The design of the bottle is very subtle and careful, and the small spray-top fits a woman's fingertip well. The price range would put it on the side of being expensive. A classic clothing and leather goods Boutique could be carrying naturally such a scent in the air.

banjerine

Dove feathers, crumpled peonies, a billowing white nightgown flecked with drops of candle wax. Peaceful, gauzy, dreamlike, and virginal, with a lifespan that flirts with immortality.

specialfairygirl

I bought this at TK Maxx for a very good price, blind..
Let's start with the good.
It certainly has a vintage feel, my mum seems OK with it (she generally dislikes perfumes), it is not too overpowering, it's not horrible, it didn't make me feel sick.. High praise, huh?
And now the bad.
Honestly it is like a slightly off cream or lotion, that has some sharp scent in it which makes it unpleasant. I.e. its not a clear cotton-y scent. What is also annoying that as it's very weak you have to keep spraying yourself to have any sort of effect and then the slightly off lotion smell comes again. I must say I am disappointed as I thought it would be a nice vintage one.

kittywhiskers

Picked up a 30 ml bottle of Noa from Shoppers for $20, was a blind buy. My first impression is that this is a very clean scent and very reminiscent of soft 90s floral perfumes. Pretty sure a friend's mom used to wear this back in the day.

This fragrance is just pure white musk and florals to me, was kinda disappointed when I couldn't smell any of the coffee, incense or vanilla - those notes were the main reason why I bought it, but I really should've known when so many reviews mention how it's soapy and powdery. It's ok for when I want to smell squeaky clean, but nothing special to be a favourite in my books.

XeniaKoneva

My mother used to wear this one, and when I saw it on a bottom shelf in Boots I felt so sad that such a lovely scent is not getting the love it deserves. I bought it just to experience the brightest moments of my childhood again but now find myself reaching for it for more than just sentimental reasons.

It smells like a luxury skincare product, I admit, but boy oh boy, how relaxing and comforting it is! It makes me feel like I'm wearing the finest white silk gown when I spray Noa on myself. It is creamy, suede-like, and delicately floral with a tiny hint of coffee. Personally, I feel like it is not outdated. and smells relevant to this day.
Longevity is great, and so is sillage. One of the most complimented in my collection.

suzanne_ronald

Imagine a log cabin at a lake where you enter to find freshly folded linens and a vase of fresh cut flowers. A breeze through an open window turns your attention to a campfire at the shore, where someone is brewing fresh coffee. Through a patio screen you see a woman shampooing her child's hair as the suds accumulate and drip though the treated lumber. Clean and woody hidden gem! Powdery and fresh burst of white florals opens this baby which fades into a creamy lather of sandalwood.

Comparison to Night Magic Evening Musk Avon:
To my nose these two are in the same vibe, although the openings are different, Night Magic having aldehydes in the opening, where Noa's opening is vaguely reminiscent of Pure Poison Dior. Both have a slight vintagey vibe, more so in Night Magic.

Comparison to Burberry Brit Rhythm:
Overall a similar clean vibe, but Burberry Brit Rhythm has the prominent lavender note.

Comparison to Bvlgari BLV NOTTE:
Despite the large discrepancy in the notes, these two are in a similar clean vibe for me, with BLV NOTTE picking up more chocolate the longer it's on your skin, and Noa gaining more creamy sandalwood and a coffee note.

Overall great value $20 in Canada for 30ml. If you like clean and woody scents and aren't scared off by a slight vintage vibe, check this one out!

Fragranceliker

Soapy but in the best way possible lol

emilia123

top notes are too white floral-y for me, but I liked the drydown.

Duaham

I'm realizing soapy, laundry scents are not my thing. This has a "vintage" feel to it. Not a fan, but cute bottle. Will use as a bathroom/car refresher

hexed

Kind of a classic 90's lotion/fabric softener/bar soap kind of a scent, but a tad more sweet.
More flattering than Cashmere Mist and such, but a similiar vibe.
Nearly annoying in its cleanliness.

soapyclean

It’s one of the best soapy fragrances in the market. A beautiful classic with a bit of old school vibe (it was released in late 90s so it makes sense) which I don’t mind at all. Glad this scent was not discontinued like many beautiful scents were. I love it soo much and I think you can wear it all year round.

violeteme

One of those perfumes where that effect of simplicity, purity and cleanliness is done with such complexity! It's such a soft and ethereal perfume, but also multifaceted, deep and not superficial at all. It's difficult to break down the notes separately. Of course, I get a lot of musk. Fluffy, white kind of musk. Coffee is very obvious in the beginning and fades quite soon. Noa smells softly floral, softly creamy and powdery, softly green, everything is balanced to perfection. Yes, a bit "Dove soap", but it is not that simple. Stunningly beautiful. +

Misia Cloudy Lamb

I just cant believe there is someone liking this hideous scent and also I am convinced that iconicness of it is a scam. Of course I am joking but.. THIS PARFUM LITERALLY SMELL LIKE PUBLIC UNWASHED RAILWAY STATION WC … !!! what’s wrong with my nose or what’s wrong with yours? Ehhh

Ps. The bottle is masterpiece and I mean it.

mermaidshimmer

I need to pull this out to wear this more often. It’s beautiful ❤️ This is tranquil, cozy and soft, especially for the fall season we're about to head into. The sillage is delicate..I would classify this as an intimate, personal scent. But if you're sitting beside someone and you stand up, they will detect a clean smell. Think freshly laundered blanket or a fuzzy and warm sweater.

It's lightly floral and sweet, with a tiny hint of musk. I don't get much of the coffee note after the initial spray wears off.

BetterSecondAct

Grown up, inoffensive, soft, warm - incense & cashmere. I really like Noa, it was my daily perfume for a while. The only problem with Noa is that there isn't enough of it - not enough sillage, not enough longevity. I put it on and one hour later it's gone. If I could find Noa's older sister I would be so happy. Yet, it is still a lovely perfume.

abbieclark67

I think of Noa Cacharel in this manner. Smoothly sinister and just a little seductive. I get a serene and romantic impression from this one, but it also makes me feel oh so graciously full of life and tender desire. White Musk, Peony, Freesia, Green Notes, Peach, and Plum are the top notes of this fragrance. Lily, Lily-of-the-Valley, Green Grass, Jasmine, Ylang-Ylang, and Rose are the middle and base notes. The top notes are White Musk, Peony, Freesia, Green Notes, Peach, and Plum. Wonderful sillage, moderate longevity of about 4 hours.

SmellyCat85

I wore this scent on my wedding day 15 years ago. The marriage didn’t last but my love for this perfume never wavered! It’s elegant and pretty. For women of all ages I think. I was 22 when I got married and I’d been wearing it on and off since I was 17. It smells very expensive and classy.
Floral, fresh and slightly sweet.

Chevybee

As Janet Jackson said: Anytime, Any place. This is an all season, anytime of day scent. I love this scent and plan to always keep it on hand. I feel that it was created in heaven just for me. It's a compliment getter, it's ethereal and I feel enveloped in a fresh, warm cocoon when wearing this. I love you Noa, I really do!

desturner866

Dove soap. Clean skin. Nivea cream. Beautiful.

juristhegreat

Innocent, maybe the perfect word to summed up this fragrance.

If open their Fragrantica's page, you'll find lot of notes on the perfume pyramid. But at your first spray you will be surprised, how clean, floral , musky, and powdery it is, not complicated at all.

Some crisp white floral; from fressia, peony, lily, and lily of the valley combine with musc, light touch of green grass and plum, to a dry down of faint incense and sandalwood.

The bottle is unique and cute, clear spherical glass with white pearl top ornament. Inside, there is a white peeble-like floating in the clear juice. The performance is moderate with intimate sillage, and it's give you an innocent and comforting feeling.

Who else to create the simplistic but unique fragrance, other than Olivier Cresp.

CandyButterfly

I blind bought Cacherel's Noa after seeing YouTube reviewers describing it as a clean-skin scent. I looked at the Fragrantica scent notes before the purchase, and noted the juice was pretty complex for such a description. But I bought a tiny bottle anyway, thinking a clean-skin scent was probably the same as a your-skin-but-better scent, which I tend to like. But when I tried Noa on, to my nose, it smells like soap. To me, clean skin and soap are two different accords. I don't mind a soapy smelling fragrance, per se. But Noa has a pretty woody base for a good half hour into the dry-down, and I'm not a fan of wood-floral combinations. After that phase, the woody part of the scent settled down some, and I liked Noa a bit better... but then the scent was undetectable to me in about another hour. In fairness, I disliked Noa enough that I'm not interested to see what else happens with it. But I would say if a person wants to blind buy this, you probably need to enjoy an old-school soapy scent with a woody base. And then, I'm guessing you'd probably need to overspray it and/or refresh it from time to time. The right person would probably enjoy this for an around-the-house scent, or an after-shower or bedtime scent. 🦋🧡🦋

MomGodess

Wow. The bottle and the scent are in perfect harmony. Well rounded scent. Signature worthy. I remember sitting on my mother's desk as I was a child and it makes you have a familiar feeling even if you never smelled it before. I get that it can be a grown woman's scent after applying her night facial cream.
However I see that men loves it. It is nostalgic and innocent at the same time. Gives you a "home" feeling. Where there is candle light, coffee and fresh laundry smell. No. It is not a booty call scent. This is what men
are looking for in a wife material. That makes it incredible sexy. This the scent of the mother of their child. This is the picture on my mind.
Silleage is present without being offensive. And longevity is pretty great especially if you wear it subsequently, you closet and surrounding will be drown in it.
I was looking for my next HG after my beloved Stella was discontinued. It gives the same vibes, however in a completely different way.
Innocent. Clean. Nostalgic. Deeply sensual.
Also it can be a prophet of the molecular scents, "your skin but better", at least for me it works. Like a perfect cashmere sweater and tight jeans. Very classy, I don't see it on tattooed or overly pierced skin. Smell of the woman, who doesn't need to try too hard because she already has it!

VANILLA CLOUDS 77

This is Prada Candy instead of the Caramel, it has green notes on bed of musk and benzoin.
Also identical to Tom Fords White Suede, less than quarter of the price.

cirmok

Why have I never tried this before?? I remember very well this perfume, or rather, the bottle and the campaign in the glossy magazines of the nineties. I have always assumed this would be a boring musky scent, and just by reading the notes I would have never tried it, as musk usually turns sharp and dirty on my skin and I don't care much about jasmine, rose, or ylang-ylang either.

But I tried it and I'm so happy I did!

It is a wonderful comfort scent, simple without being dumb.
I get the top in it's joyful green and white, and the coffee and the coriander somehow manages to keep this fresh without turning too sharp, and miraculously the musk (or at least in this version) works very well on my skin. (Hormonal changes maybe?)
Extremely well-rounded fragrance overall, I'm officially smitten.

Somehow reminded me of Laura Biagotti Essenza di Roma. Not necessarily the fragrance itself, but rather my own reaction to this two scents. Carefree, quiet happiness, seductive not because it is overly sexy but because it is confident and self-content.

This whole experience happened at the airport duty free shop before my flight, where I got in a bit of a Cacharel feast.
Left wrist Eden, right wrist NOA. In middle of the European summer heatwave.
A risky move, I thought, but it worked out just fine eventually.

Spent the flight time reading through the reviews here for both fragrances, and it was absolutely hilarious, given how polarizing these two seem to be, although in different ways. I had no idea.

Longevity is nonexistent though, it was gone by the time I landed, and Eden was still just unfolding on my other wrist. But that's ok. Some things don't need to last to make an impression.

I like the bottle design of both cases.
As for Eden, the unassuming green bottle hides and counteracts the beast inside. On the other hand, the pearly round bottle of NOA empashizes its pure and timeless beauty.

Could be a safe blind buy or present, I think, at least compared to my left wrist Eden, definitely. I remember very well Cacharel from the nineties (I used to own Anais Anais as a teen, certainly not a match but at that time there were not many choices in my just-then-post-Soviet home country). Maybe that's why NOA flew under my radar until today...?

Anyway, I think I will be testing it a couple of times and if it's on sale I might buy a bottle. We'll see!

TunyaPe

Dove beauty bar (on the skin after shower not straight from the soap) but more powdery, more floral, muskier and less sweet.

I can only picture 2 things: either a pure innocent infant/baby or a stylish grandma, which is not bad. I will keep the bottle only because the pearl inside is just so cute and squishy, lol.

lilliankim98

I tested this on paper and on my skin, and it definitely smells more like Dove soap on paper. But on skin, it develops into a softer, rounder, less soapy musk scent. It dries down to a warmer skin scent with more prominent notes of vanilla and a slight coffee aroma.

Noa is a very nostalgic scent for me, as it reminds me of watching my older female cousins apply makeup. Korean makeup has a very floral, powdery scent to it, and this takes me back to my childhood, when I longed to grow up and become a woman and do all the things.

Phantomias

My evening ritual is to dab on a different perfume every night, just before I go to bed. So a few days ago it was Noa's turn, and I was not prepared for the prominent coffee note that rose from my skin.
I've worn Noa since it premired, and never noticed a hint of coffee. How is this possible? Why is there no coffee note in the other flacons I have?
It'll remain a mystery, but now all I smell is coffee and musk. How strange!

Lili1105

I love this fragrance.. Is very versatile and pleasant...Is like a body lotion after shower..A hint of clean fragrant soap, a little more body lotion and I feel very cozy .. Longetivity is quite good.. Thank you Cacharel, good job...

Brebre1213

The initial spray is really good. But the dry down turns too earthy on me.

Snifferdoodle

Very mature. Very soapy. Reminds me of my Grandmum.

Edit:

Smells Iike IVORY bar soap.

everyscentamemory

I was looking for a perfume that would give Dove soap vibes, but I'm not sure where people are getting the comparison. This smells more like generic dryer sheets than Dove to my nose. :( It's just got a weird, musty vibe to it that is disappointing. I can't even smell the coffee note. It's just overwhelming mustiness that overrides the other notes and makes this quite flat.

If anyone is looking for a bottle in Canada, send me a message! I'll gladly trade or sell this one.

Soapyscent

I've been meaning to try this scent for a long time and I've never gotten around to doing it. I tried it for the first time in a department store and it was not what I expected. I decided to buy this online and I'm so glad I did, because I'm in love with this perfume. It's like a hidden gem, creamy, soapy, soft and really nice for the summertime.

Sweetlattemama

Being born on 1992, this was the perfume I found on my mom’s countertop during my epiphany of being a girl and started the fondness for fragrances. It’s always been legend.

Yes Malena

(Current formulation) I like the idea of having a great perfume I love from each of the most important years of my life. So 1998, if that is correct for the launch of Noa, is the year I met my husband. Sorry if TMI. Anyway, I am trying again with this perfume, and it's really coming along for me! I like Donna Karan Cashmere Mist and this falls into that general zone for me (sans vanille), a floral musk that is creamy and understated. She suits quiet times with family or friends, because her character is easygoing and contented. [Edit: Adding a word about the coffee note, I do get that faintly in the opening, and it smells to me like a mocha candy.]
Noa does not work on my skin in winter. I live in a very cold climate. Now that it's warmer, this is a solid like! 😌 (But for me personally, not sure it does justice to my 1998.) Thank you, Cacharel and Olivier Cresp. Peace.

lambeyc

This is a nostalgic scent for me, because I remember first smelling it in a Seventeen (or similar) magazine when I was in high school in the late 90s. I never actually owned it, but purchased it recently during my perfume journey when I remembered it existed.. and it's just as lovely as I recall. Funny how you can remember a scent that you only smelled once or twice from so many years ago. The only downside is that it doesn't last very long at all on me... an hour or two tops. It's a gorgeous, well blended, smooth and clean smell that's not too powdery. (I tend to hate perfumes that go too powdery, and certain floral notes give me a headache-- not the case with this.) Also, it's not listed one of the notes, but I get a bit of an apple blossom vibe from it. It's clean and inoffensive and would be the perfect scent for wearing to work.

Lina_Lina

I dont get all the soap comments.. this is a perfect light white flora smell. Its hard to find a floral that does't smell too mature, but I think this one is suitable for younger women too. very clean smell that isnt overpowering and doesnt have that gross sweet flower smell. Very professional and classy and most importantly, great for the price!

ssamhita

I got this to wear for the first day of our new year, which marks the beginning of spring, right in the middle of April, and I don't think I could have found a better fit. This is feminine, and calming and very, very beautiful. This gives me the same elegant vibe as Pure Poison, although the only thing common between these two perfumes is that they are soapy. To me though, Noa isn't that harsh kind of soap. It is creamy and clean, and in my mind, this smells like that graceful elder cousin who was always put together, possibly visiting from abroad, and when she sat next to you, you would take deep breaths to take in her scent. Doesn't last a whole long lot on my skin, but it isn't that bad either. I keep getting wafts for quite some time. This is your white dress perfume, know what I mean? Easy, breezy, elegant.

kaide_nj

This is comfort in a bottle. It's like your favorite sweater wrapping its arms around you. For me, this is definitely a Winter fragrance. There is a warmth to it which gives it a cozy feel. It is a very pretty soft delicate clean scent that is non-obtrusive. This isn't my typical scent as I am someone who loves true floral scents but I am so happy that I have this in my collection.

ChristyFirefly

It's silk in a bottle!
I imagine this fragrance smooth and shimmering with silver light. I believe that the sphere is the perfect shape for it and the designers did not lose. It is elegant and unobtrusive, but very attractive. It's a very gentle thing. Not as delicate as perfumes with the smell of cotton candy or butter cream, but a gentle cosmetic fragrance emanating from a very beautiful well-groomed woman. I used 30 ml fairly quickly about two years ago and I think I will repeat this pleasure in the near future.

cookygirl

Well. Color me surprised.
Last time I sampled the most recent version of Noa, back in pre-pandemic late 2019, I was devastated by the reformulation of one of my favorite scents. I felt it had lost its sparkle and magic. My own bottle had just turned and I decided not to replace it with the new version.
To my great regret, Noa and I had to part ways.
The other day I was in a shop and just for the heck of it - after reading some of the recent reviews here - I decided to give the new Noa another try.
To my tremendous surprise, it smelled very much like the pre-2019 version or to my memory of it at least...
I don't know what has changed. Maybe I'm not as attuned to the nuances of the scent because it's been a while since I last smelled it or maybe what I smelled two and a half years ago was an interim version that has since been refined.
In any event, I am happy enough with this version and I've since purchased a small bottle.
I do sense that the scent is weaker than before - it used to last the entire day, from morning to night, and now I have to reapply around mid-day.
I also think the musk has been toned down and the 'lotion-y' aspect has been amped up. However, I actually prefer it this way.
The musk in the older version was sometimes a bit much.
All in all I'm very happy to have reacquired Noa.
I feel like I've been reunited with an old friend.
Yes, she's changed and maybe mellowed somewhat.
She may have lost a bit of her luster but she's still recognizably Noa, and she's still very much one of a kind.

Foxxtrot44

I wanted TF White Suede, until I saw this compared to it. Gave this a try and was shocked just how many similarities these two fragrance shares. The price difference is vast. This has the exact musk notes that appeal to me so very happy with this!

Heliotropea

I sooo wanted to love this and wear it after my sweet Mama passed away as it was her favourite scent. It always smelled so good on her. Sadly, there is something in it which doesn't agree with my skin, can't put my finger on it.
I have a lovely antique cabinet which contains her ashes and dried flowers and I regularly spray what's left of her bottle inside it. Opening it and closing my eyes I smell her as if she were standing before me. It comforts me and I'm sure she would have liked ...
(Sorry for this sad note)

Ellie275

Very fresh and clean.Reminds me of fresh laundry, a relaxing shower.I can see a man wearing this too, although it's listed as a women's fragrance. It's inoffensive, great for daily wear and lasts very long.

Mona708

A light, yet cozy and feminine scent. It needs heat- your body heat or warmer weather- to reach its full potential. On my skin, it starts out somewhat woody with hints of coffee before turning sweet and powdery. It also becomes a skin scent on me very quickly- I can barely smell it on myself after about four hours, even when I put on a lot of it. If I can get a guaranteed older formulation of the ESP, I would buy it in a heartbeat.

Pilikins

This has two layers: one is a diaphanous, floral musk that billows with out-of-the-shower freshness. This is lovely but nothing novel and can be found in many other perfumes. The other layer is the mellow smoothness of freshly ground coffee which adds definition and contrast to the dreamy, clean musk. It’s as if you have stepped out of the shower, those wonderful, steamy clouds of soapy freshness are wafting around you and you are handed a cup of finest Colombian. This perfume is nothing without the coffee, but together, the layers make something wonderful and different. It is at once comforting and refreshing. It is suitable for men but leans feminine. Longevity 6+ hours, sillage moderate.

Zmnim

This, to me, smells like Pleasures but not as sharp so I bought a 30ml bottle for €19.90, which I think is a reasonable price. It's also quite long lasting for an EDT. Sprayed on my wrist yesterday morning, took a shower last night and I can still faintly smell it today.

msyd17

when i smelled this for the first time my first thoughts were "meh." the most "meh" perfume you can ever smell, when it dries down it starts to resemble j'adore in some way.

SweetMary

I am not sure which formula, original or reformulated I have as I got it as a sample in a trade I did recently. But whichever formula it seems to collide in a huge way with my skin chemistry.

There's something very synthetic and soapy about it and extremely offputting to my nose. I smell it on my wrist and you know, ok, it's quite soapy.. synthetic, not to my liking.. and then, a few seconds later I find myself literally retch from the nausea that overwhelms me. I also got a splitting headache from it. I can't explain this, I honestly have no idea what provokes this rather violent physical reaction. It's like it's my "kryptonite". Not in the sense that it could kill me, obviously, but it certainly decapacitates me. I am really not exaggerating; this fragrance and my skin is a match made in h*ll. (I have noticed that fragrances with Ylang Ylang often turns bad on my skin; dunno if that's the reason here though, as this one truly is a vicious kinda bad, on my skin)

That said, this might very well be a great fragrance for those whose skin doesn't reject it the way my skin does. I wouldn't want to discourage anyone from trying it. But I would strongly recommend sampling it before buying it :-)

FrkFors

Please let this perfume sit on your skin for a least 10-15 minutes before you decide if you like it or not!
It becomes this most serene, feminine and delicate scent! It smells like taking a shower using Dove soap bar and using a body lotion with discreet lily scent. So peaceful and nice. It's grown a lot on me and I love spraying it on before bed, it makes me feel so calm and cozy. The only downside is that it doesn't last that long or project much. Like it's just for you and your own wellbeing, like being in your own little bubble.

who.am.i.you

This fragrance smells like those moments after a nice long shower, wrapped up in musky freshly laundered towels, preparing morning coffee. Lovely.

roxyjuliet

Noa by Cacharel is soft and creamy. It reminds me of a floral scented body lotion in the best way possible. Definitely worth a try if you like creamy, lotion like fragrances.

Szafirowy czar

When I tried this fragrance in the duty-free zone at one airport, I liked it so much that recently I've bought the whole bottle. However, I became disappointed because it seems that the perfume doesn't go along with my skin's chemistry and it just doesn't smell as well as I was expecting. To some extent this fragrance is nice but at the same time quite irritating to my nose if that even makes sense. Don't get me wrong, it's not all bad, but I definitely won't purchase another bottle. By the way, it's quite long lasting and discreet

Adriennne

To me this smelled like old 2000 or older musky powdery mess. Not impressed.

Yes Malena

It does not perform with any complexity on me. I will try it again in summer, but really am not feeling this at all. Just tonka, incense, barely barely a hint of greenness, and not liking the way the lily sits like a wall in this perfume. I get coriander but it actually smells like cardamom to me, which is overpowering to any lighter notes. The musk has that saliva-esque flavor to it on me. Not a fan of that. Probably Noa needs the heat to come out with more complexity. I don't get it. As of now, this is a bad blind buy for me, and I'm mad at myself for not testing first, but I will try her again during a warmer season.

Added: I agree this smells like Azzaro Twin Women, and that one doesn't work for me either.

Drydown is buttery.

Mellyhelly

This perfume is one of my staple since ages!
I recently bought a new bottle and I can say that it has gone through some reformulation.
The ancient spirit of Noa is a bit betrayed but I cannot say it smells bad now. Quite the opposite it is still a lovely scent that delights some noses and repell others.
The musky part is still very present but a bit tamed, so that the flowers really come out and the coffee that I didn't smell before, now it's there. I'm not a fan of coffee scents, but Noa is such a complex fragrance and this greenish coffee is not disturbing.
Noa is strong yet tender. The initial blast is not very grateful. It smells of alcohol and a chemical note that for many people is similar to hair salon products and hairspray.
Give Noa 5 minutes before judging and you may change your mind.
Honestly my love for Noa is not easy to explain. I usually don't like white musk-based scents because they scream laundry with a high pitch. I also have a strong dislike for white lily (the big white flower that you typically smell at funerals) because it's very piercing to my nose and brain.
These two notes on paper should make me run for hills only reading them in a note lists and I can say that most perfumes with these two notes give me a big headache and general discomfort.
Oh, yes and coriander. Coriander for me has a foul smell both eaten and as a perfume note. Who ever started to put coriander in perfumes?
And incense that usually turn acrid on my skin.
That said, I love Noa. I guess all the rest of the composition can mellow these sharp ends.
I clearly smell peony, freesia, ylang-ylang, lily-of-the-valley, plum, sandalwood and tonka bean, but... don't expect to smell them separately. The blending mastery here is awesome. I deeply admire Oliver Cresp who also created a beloved one: Avon Today.
I don't love everything he did, but he's a great nose. Noa in the end smells only like Noa.
It ends up in a fluffy musky-floral smell, not sweet, not uselessly sugary, super clean and yet vaguely dirty (this part is very tamed in the reformulation) and after all not so innocent. It may be a little chemical at times, but not soapy.
The lasting power is not what it once was, but still decent.
I think that Noa is the smell of tenderness and soft sensuality. It's good for sleeping, too.

krmarich

I decided to jump into my "perfume time machine"(my large box of unopened treasures from closeout stores) and revisited 1998's Cacharel Noa in its original formula. Cacharel was/is the iconoclastic fragrance house always smashing the current trends. After Eden, with its bright neon "green rainforest" homage, Noa wandered off in a completely different direction. The "avant-garde" was once again engaged in all aspects of this production. The ad campaign tossed off tradition. An exotic model walks through a grimy cityscape in a diaphanous white gown sporting a gravity resistant bottle of Noa. What kind of magic did it contain?

At the end of the 20th century, I began exploring women's fragrances as if they might appeal to me. Noa immediately grabbed my attention. The little bottle with the pearl in it was all it took for me to try a sample. I have the original and Noa Fleur still in my collection. I always felt the pearl a little odd, yet once you hold it in your hand, it's hard to stop playing with.

What does this mysterious bottle contain? White musk enveloping the most delicate floral composition I had ever encountered. Generally, I cannot pick up white musk, yet Noa is based on it from beginning to end. Its rather powdery and soft. Peachy peony and lily notes weave in with green fresh clean accents. It's a sheen pearly soap character that resembles Dove soap. Then comes the big breakthrough note of coffee! It's not dark and bitter. It has cream, vanilla and cinnamon, that delights your nose. It rests on creamy cedar and sandalwood that sustains the composition for the day. Gentle doesn't mean weak. It wears like being in a spa all day.

As a man I have always used triple milled rose soap on my face and it keeps my skin toned and moist even on the coldest winter day as the years rush by. A spritz of Noa is like the fountain of youth as well, which I apply as an aftershave. It is regrettable that the coffee note has been removed. It was like a latte for your skin. By all means, get a bottle of the original formula as supplies are dwindling...

Mmmmm, I love this!

I bought this after falling in love with my sample of Chanel’s 1957, which I can’t afford a full bottle of. I decided to do some research and try out a few other white musky scents, including this.

The first spritz, besides the alcohol, I get a nice sharp musky smell. Then the florals start to come in and help it evolve. I only got a few whiffs of something green. And to be honest I can’t pick out a single note other than musk, flowers (but not one in particular), and the base minus the coffee (don’t get it at all).

Reminds me of something I smelled on an aunt years ago. I personally find it very inoffensive, clean, and comforting. I guess I get the soapy comments. But I agree with the creamy clean and smelling like a nice white lotion comments.

I haven’t checked my batch code, but I got it off fragrancenet so I doubt it’s an older one. Lasts longer on clothes, but doesn’t develop like it does on skin. I sometimes spray it on my bedding before I go to sleep and it still smells musky and clean.

I have a small bottle of Noa, bought recently. It is quite weak, even for an EDT, but is a pretty, subtle, feminine day scent with some interesting points to note.

Noa opens with a blast of ethanol fumes that give way to grassy green, herbal, slightly woody notes. They are joined by a soft, powdery floral accord. Clean jasmine and ylang ylang are most obvious to my nose, rounded out by sweet peony and rose. This soft floral bouquet makes for a beautiful, understated opening.

Clean musk creeps in as it develops, blurring the florals to create a pleasant soapy effect. At this stage, the coffee note is evident, staying close to the skin. I am a big coffee drinker, but am not sold on coffee as a note in perfumery. Here, it adds a warm, slightly bitter edge to the musky florals, and perhaps only works because it is so subtle. Soft vanilla in the base adds some smooth sweetness to the musky floral drydown, and it becomes quite powdery as it fades to a musky skin scent. Sillage is briefly moderate, and longevity is weak.

Cheap and cheerful, Noa is a likeable everyday scent that still manages to be interesting. Clean, fresh and comforting, it is best worn (and reapplied) in warm weather. Fleeting, but lovely, it's worth a sniff. 3/5.

A very musky, fresh white floral, that goes powdery very quickly after spraying.
It has a bit of an old fashioned vibe. Not sure I’d ever reach for it.
Reminds me of lily of the valley talc. And a lily of the valley rollerball perfume I had as a child, it has that sharp, cheap kind of smell, but a lot more powdery.
Huge projection.

an update to my previous review: I used up my two samples from 1998 and bought a huge 3.4oz bottle manufactured in 2016. This is after one reformulation, I believe, but before the second reformulation that allegedly altered the scent severely and made it very weak and dull.

This newer bottle is much more floral and sharp on the opening - I am certain this is because it is newer. The older samples probably shifted in scent a bit, and lost most of the strong floral notes. This change means my experience with the perfume is different, at least at the opening. After the scent settles a bit, it smells much more like the samples I got: warm, musky, fresh, unisex, alluring. The sharp, alcohol-y florals only last about ten minutes on me. Then they mellow out and become part of a unified, blended scent. I genuinely don't mind this about the perfume.

I do think longevity/projection/sillage are better with this 2016 bottle. Especially on clothing. I won't be surprised if I finish this bottle extremely quickly. I can see that I've already made a dent in it. The only downside is I'll have to scour ebay for another pre 2018 bottle!

PerfumeNoob2

Bought this since it was really cheap thanks to Black Friday and it’s a like from me. It doesn’t really last or project on me, but I like the feeling it gives me. It makes me feel fresh and clean, so I use it as an everyday perfume.

Feige

Good to note: I'm testing this on a cold, snowy winter day.

It's a rather unisex scent. It smells very alcohol-like when I first spray it and as the scent develops I start to notice a urine-note which is revolting, but the awful note doesn't last long, it slowly develops into green notes and then I can mostly detect a sharp musk. As time goes by, the scent becomes warmer and develops just the tiniest hint of sweetness on my skin, perhaps due to the vanilla, but it remains icey and fresh at the core which could be due to the woody notes or the musk. I find that it becomes more beautiful with time.

I don't like it when sprayed on the clothes as the scent doesn't develop any warmth and it just stays icey and sharp. Unlike on my skin, I find that it becomes very woody and reminds me of Beyonce's Rise which I dislike. It's possible that it's due to the lack of skin warmth that would develop the scent. Perhaps it would work a little bit better when the weather is warmer, such as on a spring day.

Update: it's been about 3 hours since I sprayed it on my skin, and the sharp masculine notes are gone. All that's left is a soft and warm musky vanilla. The woodsy notes are still reigning on my clothes though.

Update 2: I mostly like it by spraying it in the air and walking through the mist. I find that if I spray it directly onto my skin, the scent is much sharper and can get a little too much. It becomes much more soft and pleasant when I walk through the mist.

Update 3 - 2023.05.16:

Haven’t worn this scent in a while due to how harsh it always smells on me. It’s a warm spring day today so I decided to revisit this perfume, and I find that it smells a little warmer and a bit like paper with some harsh green notes in the background. The paper scent I’m experiencing may be due to the woody notes… I’m still disappointed so I may give it away.

Tshiamo

If you're looking at the notes and are expecting to have a gourmand scent or at least a sweet clean fragrance. Prepare to be bitterly disappointed. This like a lotion to me, very similar to Azzaro's Twin for Women but a bit stronger. If you like to smell effortless like you just showered and put on some white lotion. This is for you. More creamy than soapy to me.

emaltic

I just got a second-hand bottle. The initial spray smells like a deodorant. It also somehow reminded me of my childhood. Smells like a clean hug of a mother. These are my first opinions

Slightly

I usually love musky soapy fragrance
But there are some notes in Noa smell like tinner or nail polish remover and literally caused my headache......

ingeneuxo

-Noa initially comes across perfumey when worn on clothing.
-Cheap, generic perfume you'd pay 5 bucks for at the drugstore.
-It dries down slightly to morph into a slightly less perfume-y scent...soapy almost. With a hint of soybeans. (-)

*Update*
-My bottle might have needed a while to sit after arriving in the post.
-It's totally not perfumey once left to settle for 24 hours. Opens smelling soapy and clean.
-Largely linear scent, with a hint of soybean in the dry-down.
-Overall, Noa is a clean, soft, soapy musk scent that has officially secured a staple spot in my collection.
-Noa satisfies my craving for its niche older sister, Clair de Musc by Serge Lutens-- which, rather unfortunately, fades all-too-quickly and has a drydown that reminds me of cat piss . (+)

Miasha

I don’t know how you can percieve this one as soft. Yes, I agree that there is a creamyness to it, similar to Nivea, but it is too too sharp and strong!! Headache inducing - and I have just been using one little spritz to my wrist, and touching the other wrist with it. Unbelievable!
And I am not usually oversensitive to perfumes and fragrances. But this is, unfortunately, just like a too strong laundry detergent. A pity, since I used to own a mini bottle of Noa Pearl, which was absolutely lovely. But that one is of course sadly discontinued.

Khelish

The two sample bottles I bought are from 1998, so I cannot compare with the new formulation. When I run out of one sample bottle I will buy a full size new one and compare the scents.

This scent lived up to all my hopes and expectations. Attractive, feminine/unisex, with a warm creaminess. My brother described the scent as "Clean", and I agree but not in a soapy, sharp way. Fragrantica user diddilybop described it to me as "more like fresh out of the shower skin after using a creamy shower gel", and I'd say that's exactly right. This scent makes me feel pretty, and kind of mysterious and effortless. I might layer with a grapefruit solinote scent I have, just to see how that brightens the scent up. But I think the fragrance is very very wonderful just as it is. It's not too serious, and I prefer some playfulness in my scents. Don't get me wrong though, NOA is not childish at all. Musky, cozy, pretty, seductive, lighthearted, clean, etc. The coffee becomes more apparent during the drydown, and it gives the scent a tiny bit of edge. I could sing its praises all day.

(I came to hear about this scent after looking for a crossbreed between Auric Blends' Egyptian Goddess, Glossier You, and Prada Candy L'eau - I'd say it's a pretty good answer for anyone who likes those three scents or scents similar to them!)

CRiche

If angels had a smell this would be it. Clean, fluffy, beautiful. My husband always tells me how good I smell when I wear this🤍. I’m all about the musk lately and this one is my favorite.

katwren

I don't believe I've seen this mentioned yet, but this smells SO SIMILAR the OG Biolage shampoo. I really enjoy this perfume, but my skin really blasts floral-citrus-fruits, so I don't get a detectable musk note from this like most others. I normally don't care for floral perfumes at all, but this is one that doesn't make me sneezy or feel like I've got to scrub it off after an hour. Noa is not sharp, but soft, and the adorable rounded bottle really reflects this quality. I don't have a nose to pick out notes, but I can tell you this one smells like you've walked into a garden after a heavy rain.
*EDIT: smelled Tocca Giulietta at Sephora, shocked that it smelled so similar to this. Not surprised to see they share many of the same notes.

pineapplemamba

This was a blind buy for me and find this very soapy/peppery at the beginning. It feels like an “old lady scent” but I like how subtle it is when it has dried down. When it dries down I feel like it has a “I just naturally smell good” vibe. It’s a good, pleasant everyday fragrance.

jangseung

완전 겨울에 잘어울리는 포근한 향. 초등학생때 처음 맡아보고 성인이 되어 그때의 기억으로 구매함. 너무 좋음!!

Hermetique

Very soft musk, maybe a hint of white flowers, maybe like a dried potpourri. Wafts in the air like white linens outside in the sun. One of my favorites when I was a teen. Ladylike, feminine, soft. Not overpowering. Has a hint of masculine musk, like you were making out with your boyfriend and have a hint of his skin smell lingering on you.

anneshrimatti

I don't have an exact signature scent yet but this could be it. I'm afraid to use it all up because I have a 1.7floz bottle. It's a very unoffensive smell, it literally smells like clean skin. You will smell like you have your life together. I think this would suit any age group (I'm 18). The opening is not my favorite, it smells like sampaguita which is arabian jasmin, but after less than 5 minutes it turns into the soapy powdery skin scent. Not extremely long lasting but still has decent longevity, it lasts around 3-5 hours. Highly recommend for an everyday scent.

Burgundy Jayde

NOA was reformulated about a year ago. It is soooo weak and boring now. It used to be a masterpiece that lasted on the skin all day. Now its weak and dull.

jellybeantree

This perfume just makes me happy. It’s calm and comforting in a way. When it came out I tried it but I was into Ultraviolet by Paco Rabanne and Angel and it was kind of was bitter on me but now I really like it. It is perfect for all occasions. It kinda is like you are wrapped in a cocoon. A hidden gem in my opinion.

melanie mother or foxes

Around 25years ago, my (now late) mother in law used to buy this every Xmas. At the time I hated it!. It smelled of nothing so I used to give it to a woman I worked with. (I feel dreadful now rest her soul) 😭
Now 25yrs later, I am now the same age as this woman at work and I have so say, its rather nice. Its kinda like a very luxurious soapy clean innocent smell. I can't believe I passed on so many bottles of it but at 25 Yr old I was more into the more trendy smells ,like Tommy girl, or Hugo woman.
Noa is a very underestimated fragrance as are all of the Cacharel perfumes.
Its a just stepped out a lovely hot bubble bath at a posh hotel. Its classy but not sexy.
I get my boyfriend to rate my fragrances as I buy them and he gave it a 10/10.
Perfect for a wedding, christening, tea with the Queen etc. And omg the bottle is soooo damn cute!!!!.

TabledThoughts

Close in personality to Lacoste Pour Femme with some fresh warmth.
Close to skin scents that I find appealing.
Musk fan must have.
Pleased to have both.✨

cocogirl96

This smells like water but in a good way. Also, it's not the watery scent of a beachy/aqua body spray nor of a juicy/fruity smell. It is very light and fresh. This is the safest perfume I've EVER smelled. I can't imagine how anyone can hate it. You might be disappointed because it smells bland, or maybe the fragrance doesn't work well with your body chemistry, but no one will be put off by the smell itself. I don't even think most people will recognize it as perfume. It'll smell like a really clean person who didn't use any fragrance.

Think of the smell you might get when you step out of the shower after washing with unscented bar soap. Take that smell and put it in a bottle. Does it smell interesting, unique, amazing? No. But it does smell clean and safe. Perfect for someone who is sensitive to fragrances.

The sillage is okay. Longevity is also okay. I like to spray it on my clothes. You might think it has poor sillage and longevity because the scent is so light, but I actually smell it a few hours after spraying it. It's just really light.

Overall, I give this a 5/10. I like it, but it's not special. I don't get the dreamy quality you guys are talking about.

Edit: I completely forgot about this fragrance. Today, I found it behind my dresser. It was wedged between the dresser and the wall. There were a bunch of dead fruit flies stuck to it. Some even INSIDE of the bottle! Last summer, I used to see fruit flies in my room and was so confused. I looked everywhere! I deep-cleaned my room, used fly traps, fly repellant sprays etc, but they would not leave until the fall came around. I guess it's this fragrance that attracted them x___x

vetiverberry

Mild and airy. This is a nice clean floral that isn’t headache inducing or dated. It doesn’t have any sweetness on my skin, but it’s still quite feminine. A nice daytime scent, doesn’t smell dated or matronly. Kind of reminds me of Elizabeth & James Nirvana White but with more character and longevity.

The coffee note is a nice little surprise in the dry down, it adds a little kick to this otherwise innocent, clean composition. Unfortunately something else in here makes me a little sneezy. If someone had told me this was a modern perfume,I would probably believe them.

Woodamber

Oh wow! This is how I remember the 90's used to smell like. Noa feels soft, clean, floral and powdery. Cozy and comforting. I get alot of musk as well as soft and lovely florals. There are also some hints of fruity notes in the background. It is simple and beautiful!

Dreamdott

This reminds me of waking up in the morning at 7 AM right before my mom leaves to work and I have to start school. Clean, fresh, powdery and musky. I really wanted to love this one but for me it’s just a like. It’s nothing too special. I’ve smelled it before it is nostalgic but I have more nostalgic fragrances than this one. It is cozy and calming though. Not the vanillic sweet kind of cozy. More the fresh clean skin kind of cozy. Not bad but I dont think ill keep it.

This is the type of fragrance for a very simplistic type of person. It’s easy to wear and not offensive. Safe blind buy!

tryhardcomplex

A very comforting and nostalgic scent that I can't help but love. Smells very clean and the dry down is very soft. I enjoy layering it with other perfumes as it adds a fresher cleaner scent to anything I use with it. I absolutely cannot live without it and I buy a bottle of it every couple of months because I just love the smell of it around. It doesn't last very much on the skin but I can't help but love the opening of it due to the nostalgia.

kiraagold

What a fun little coffee-on-the-terrace scent!

Opens with some late 90’s fruity flower goodness, then warms up with espresso and coriander–the seeds, not the cilantro leaf, after the plant has bolted and the flower pods are ripening in the sun–warm and sweet and spicy.

The powdery musk in the center is soft and ageless and perfect for morning.
Doesn’t last terribly long, but it’s not pricey, so have another cuppa.

JasminePetal

I used to wear this in my early 20s a lot, it was all the hype back then. It has a very soft, powdery, sweet floral smell, but somehow more synthetic floral than natural. It's also that soft that it doesn't really have much a voice of its own. Almost like a bit stronger laundry detergent that your shirt just happens to smell like. It's still beautiful, with all those lovely notes, beautiful combination. But it's also very young, like a fresh blank page with just two sentences on it. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike it, and it fitted my style back when I had it, but I would not buy again. Also because I find it quite recognizable and that leaves so little to the mystery when smelling someone.

pinkRocket81

Someone said in an earlier review that Noa smells of liquid baby powder, and another, remarked that it is what they imagine “baby unicorns to smell like”. I couldn’t agree more. It seems like something either aimed at second graders, like something belonging to Disney’s ‘Frozen’ marketing campaign, or something worn by a conservative, safe 90’s Mom.
While that concept in itself could be interesting, any campy 80’s, innocent, vanilla ‘My Little Pony’ playfulness is not my first association.
Yes my friends, sadly, this bottle falls into the reformulation belt and thus, reduced to as much of a forgettable and dull, unoriginal drug store scent as the plastic pearl inside.

electric_evelyn

This would be a very nice perfume if it lasted longer and had a bit of sillage. Someone described it as “innocent”, and that’s how I think it is. Somewhat powdery and floral, mostly clean - not soapy.
It just doesn’t last... it’s more of a skin scent. I can compare the longevity to Armani Code for her, which smells very nice - but also performs bad.
