At first opening comes off like Top Ramen Chicken Flavor. Then I start smelling what I think is saffron and cardamom, and then an espresso shot along with a subtle sweetness of the caramel . I get an underlying soft leather in the mid but no leather is listed . It’s a nice coffee fragrance- I’m sick of smelling that sickly sweet Frappuccinos , an intense coffee is nice for a change . Even still if anyone wanted to layer this with sweeter scents it could work if it was too spicy coffee forward. This is sexy, but cozy. Unisex . Not sure how it does in heat and longevity , will have to test it out

Intoxicated opens like a power shot that’s %30 rooibos tea mixed with %70 dark roast coffee.
It’s bitter, dark and grainy. There’s nothing remotely milky or creamy here. In fact it's quite punchy and dry.

I’m finding it to be far more expresso martini than macchiato - it’s spicy and sharp and not at all sumptuous or cozy. I’m actually finding it a little headache inducing and somewhat medicinal and I want to scrub it off but I'm still in the opening so I'll wait it out...

After the first hour mark Intoxicated has settled into more of a gourmand. My scent association has now stuck to 'smoky Christmas pudding with a large dollop of molasses'. The pudding isn’t very fruity, but rather serving sticky brunt caramel. Emphasis on burnt.

5+ hours in and its now a sweet syrup goo with a touch of booziness. It’s become a lot more smooth and I’m finally picking up on that macchiato vibe that the notes promised. I find it to be much more tolerable now. Which is a shame because I can barely smell it and neither can my partner.

After a day of testing I don’t really remember the intoxication but I sure as hell remember the hang over.

Another Killian pass for me.

Gets compared to Angel Men quite a lot, which was one of the first frags I ever owned & also enjoyed, might I add. I do see some comparisons but Angel had a bit more sweetness & I actually enjoyed that one more surprisingly. I would say this one is less polarizing though, perhaps a cleaner Angel Men if you will. Doesn't really wow me though.

Anabol2336

The scent begins with heavy, sweet scents of cinnamon and caramel, but it also smells a little like vanilla and very slightly like honey and chocolate. In addition, the scent is tart and quite spicy. Actually reminds me of A*Men by Thierry Mugler, only it seems less biting to me.The cardamom is definitely responsible for the bitter-spicy, the coffee note. Later, the fragrance continues to smell of sweet spicy scents, of nutmeg and cardamom, but unfortunately no longer of coffee, as it is becoming weaker and weaker and soon says goodbye.
Much later the fragrance smells basically the same as it did at the beginning, only with slight differences in the individual intensities. The biggest difference is that the fragrance is much softer and more pleasant at the end than at the beginning, as the fragrance becomes slightly more powdery in the base.

TT_Joker4

Wow such an unusual frag in an affirmative way, classier it gets with the dry down. Lies on the masculine side in my opinion. Cardamom is not overused or disturbing so don't worry about it, also i don't get the coffee note for some reason. Slight caramel sweetness alongside with cinnamon & nutmeg tease can be felt at the dry down. Super pleasant and crowd appealing attention drawer.

VERY IMPORTANT UPDATE:
Typing this after 4 hours of spraying the fragrance. The dry down is literally identical to the opening of Armani Attitude (my all time favorite fragrance which is discontinued unfortunately). Maybe that's why i loved the smell of intoxicated who knows. Coffee and cardamom is doing the trick i guess.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

So, not particularly in love with this...LOVE the cardamom, absolutely love the first 30 seconds of this. I don't get as much of the base notes as I expected, but I should have known better to expect anything at all--one of my mottos in life is to "Expect nothing, appreciate everything." Idk, this house just gets me down and I should have known better.

BUT! Turn of events. I walked past my boyfriend, he VERY, like OUT-OF-CHARACTER, VERY, enthusiastically through his Mr. Serious moustache told me how good I smell, asked what I was wearing, and I tried to slough it off. "Perfume," I said. He asked, "One of mine?" Told him no, kept kinda trying to dodge the whole thing. Long story short, he is enamored with it, sniffing my hand and saying he wants it for himself. So, he will get it. Because if there's one thing I love, it's sharing fragrance with him--the hobby of mine he doesn't understand (until he falls in love with something). For that, I'll buy, share/gift any and every bottle. Even if I don't love it. It's going to smell great on him, and make him feel great, too! You win, Kilian...this time.

HeyItsJoel

Absolutely no punch to this fragrance. When compared side by side to Black Phantom, it fails miserably.

GrenadeGirl

Not really a fan, and tbh I was a bit surprised by that.

It isn't terrible at all, the notes are often ones that draw me in, but this... well, I guess this just isn't special.

I love warm spices that are not too overbearing. Tick! Yes, it has those.. but the blend is 'fine', rather than 'ooooh!'. I adore coffee done well? Ish-Tick. Yes, it is CLEARLY coffee, but I own at least 3 others that do it better.

Summary: If you don't already have a shelf of spicy or coffee, give it a go. If you do....? Meh...

thenomnomhamster

One of my favorite fragrances in my collection. Such a sexy, warm, and intoxicating scent. Perfect for colder, rainy days,

gedlive

Of many similar fragrances. This is the best for me. As it is less gourmand and more beautifully spicy. More sophisticated and mature maybe, than other vanilla gourmands.
It has an almost floral musk. And the cardomom really began to pop for me, after using the fragrance for a while.

Sasspergers

With a name like Intoxicated, I guess I was expecting something a bit more? The sillage and longevity are pretty good, but this just smells like a diluted version of Dark Rum by Malin & Goetz to me. It's nice but nothing groundbreaking.

Antoshka2

A beautiful fragrance that disappears quickly and leaves only a very tiny trace of what was once there after 30 minutes. Safe for all occasions for this reasons. Work, day night, dates. Not over powering, doesn’t project well but a beautiful beautiful multifaceted scent. Warm chocolate cardamom but not for long. It just vanishes after less than an hour. The dupes last a long time but they don’t smell as good.

rizasman

Turkish Cats wear this fragrance

Devved

I mostly get cardamom, vanilla and caramel. it has really good longevity and it’s really smooth. it’s really good, unisex. What i like about Killian at least all the black bottles is that the sweetness is really well balanced. But i think it takes a while to get used to this perfume. The dry down reminded me of an expensive candle.

Chrisandra

Unisex, aromatic, gourmand, boozy and delicious.
On me, it lasts more than 8 hours.
But there's a catch. I was talking about a dupe ;)
If you love Intoxicated, get Contagious from Marhaba at a 10th of the price.
Thank me later ;)

Ksj_

When I smell this, I definitely get the A*Men similarities. Although, there's a fizzy cola vibe that I also get and I don't enjoy that aspect.

Side note:

This is almost identical to Mugler's DNA .

kerolos

Very beautiful fragrance. It is a mix of green fresh cardamom with sweet dark coffee.

Performance is on the average side for the price.

Random note, I wonder if this one has been reformulated, or its just me comparing it to my original from like 10 years ago. Opening my new bottle and freshly spraying it, although it still has that sorta clean fresh, almost urinal quality to it(I say urinal but not in a disgusting way mind you)I also got quite a bit of dark, smoke, almost a smidge of I dare say a whisper of charcoal quality faintly in the background. I would say it reminded me more so of the cliche what other people say A men kinda smell. Or well to be honest again not actually A men but more so pure coffee to the few that have smelled that.

Again could just be its a freshly opened bottle and maybe my nose is playing tricks on me since normally when I wear this its from a pretty much gone 10 year old bottle I have or maybe it is reformulated a bit, or maybe its just my post covid nose years later still playing tricks on me.

Overall still no problem with the scent for me, I enjoy it.

vtzd

Heavy, dark, sweet. Does it's name justice!

Detman101

I feel duped.
Expected something boozy, or at least coffee-based...given the notes and it being referred to as a "Coffee Fragrance".
Nope...
Not a bit of coffee anywhere in this fragrance to be found.
I get a "spicy lightly-soapy floral"...and that's it.
Thank goodness it was only a 10ml.
I'll pass this on to the wife...

Don Coolio1942

Nice clean scent that fooled me on initial spray. I got almost a coka cola type vibe then 10 minutes into the dry down it changed to a clean fresh scent with a hint of sweetness. 7/10 smell for me 👌🏾

Chemason1967

Prunel if you think this is “linear” your nose is broken 🥴

Prunel

The name doesn't represent the fragrance at all. At least on my skin. With that name, you'd expect something heavy, sweet, strong. This is not that. It's very clean and linear. It smells good, but I was expecting so much more. This is almost fresh on me.

ShowMustGoOn

Makes me think of my childhood. Very Middle Eastern vibe. Sweet dessert, spices, mom’s baking around Easter, medley with nuts on the table, ground up cardamom and sugar pastries, strong coffee and cacao.

Surprised that there are no other spices listed. I smell a bit of Pepper. Sweet but spicy and somewhat soapy. I have two bottles of this. One for travel, one for regular size. Recommend it if you love cardamom. There is a lot of it in here. Somewhat linear scent though. Like at first sniff.

NevesR

Paying high bucks for fancy bottles and a poor juice? No thanks.

Abdul.b

This is what someone can say : a “niche version” of Mugler A*men. Polished, balanced less tarry and in your face A*men version. The coffee!?? Hmmm, is still not that prominent here but it’s there.

Luca Lucarelii

Very good smell but poor performance. On my skin, it projects moderately for half an hour and the scent of the skin for the next 5 hours. People around you will like it, provided they can feel it. My opinion is that it is in the TOP 3 Kilan perfumes.

KerriZ

Another elegant addition to the Kilian line. A super gourmand cardamom, coffee and vanilla blend. It is like walking into your favorite Turkish coffee spot in the souk filled with rich middle eastern spices. Lasts for hours.

sivosevic

Overpriced Armani Attitude immitation. For this price, you’re better off getting a vintage bottle of Attitude on Ebay. Still cheaper than this. 🤣

Maliken

Intoxicated envelopes with an explosion of spice, primarily cardamom. I dislike the immediate opening as it doesn't even smell like a perfume at this stage but rather like you just left the kitchen after working on a spicy curry dish. But thankfully this does get better when the spice starts to mellow and the coffee becomes more prominent in the blend. It’s pleasant for the colder weather, but when you’re presented with the prohibitively expensive price that By Kilian charges for a mere 50ml bottle one should be entitled to something that’s more than just ‘pleasant’. It’s an incredibly one dimensional scent that doesn’t really have anything to compliment or balance the blast of spice other than the coffee that just lingers in the background but never truly shines.

seekritdude

Just because its kinda interesting how after losing my smell completely for a long time, and slowly but surely regaining most of it these past 2 years now although rare there are times that some fragrances I get different things out of. This is one of them. Very very rarely in reviews I have seen this fragrance compared to having a cola smell. And I can say since my sense of smell has returned I can now also smell a cola, or a effervescent tinge or sparkle to the fragrance that I did not smell before. I would say this to me now smells like...

Youre at a high end coffee shop lets say. And you go to the bathroom, and there is this cleaning agent almost clean urinal smell. I dont mean that in a bad way, but there is that sorta clean freshness to this fragrance. You wash your hands with this high end soap. Go back and sit down. And at your table you have a coffee, a bit of chocolate for a smidge of yummyness. With a bit of cinnamon, cardamon, and well.. You also ordered yourself a cola on the side and the bubbles are freshly popping to tingle your nose.

Again I cant ever recall smelling that tingle effervescentness to this fragrance before covid. Certainly ive gotten the clean urinal smell before. But never a cola, but now I get it. Go figure. Covid.

Anyway I still like it though, its a bit of a strange one, because it smells almost too fresh, to be snuggly and yummy, and yet the whispers of the fragrance/and scent in general is relaxing and nice to smell in doses. And perhaps... INTOXICATING.

But really yeah, I guess in a sense its a strange one because again it kinda teeter totters on that idea of being snuggly and yummy, but its just too fresh to really be so. And yet although I never have that feeling or constant desire to bury my hand in my wrist when I wear it, I do like smelling it come off me while im relaxing.

Still bummed that while I was in Turkey my sense of smell was extremely sketchy because I would love to compare since supposedly this was supposed to evoke the image of being in Turkey and drinking some Turkish coffee from what I understand. Sadly all my images of Turkey were how great the cats were, and nigh everyone trying to rip me off every 5 seconds lol.

mer919

The opening is a cardamom bomb. As it evolves, the cardamom note changes into a sweeter coffee-vanilla based scent. Definitely is a scent aimed towards winter nights, it would simply be too overpowering and intense for summer IMO. I would also not recommend blind buying this, since the cardamom opening can be nauseating for some. Sillage and longevity are quite good, but this is an overpowering and intense fragrance.

gedlive

I hadn't worn this for a while. I was craving cardamom, so I reached for this.
It's better than I remember. I also like patchouli. This has a very nice patch and cardamom accord with vanilla and coffee.

This is like a niche version of Angel Man, and similar to Naxos. This is the best of these fragrances. The new Dior Diorama is also similar, but not as good as Intoxicated.

This is yummy gourmand, yet the green cardomom balances the sweet gourmand aspects. It's why I like it so much. As I don't generally like sweet gourmands.

will_i_smell

Wow....

I don't think I've seen a greater dichotomy in reviews here. Something's not right.

So, some folks say it's "soapy", smells like "cleaning products", "very fresh".
Others say it's "super dark", "heavy, dark, deep scent", and "super intense and smokey".

Then, as usual here, the performance reviews are all over the place. Everything from "lasts just minutes" to "can't get rid of it".

Ridiculous.

moyashi

This is very heavy on cardamom
When it is dried down it becomes a bit more subtle but it is still too much for me

Rodrigo2023

Definitely I don’t like this thing. I tried, several times, but the only thing I feel is the smell of cleaning products. Coffee note? Are you sure about that? Impossible to smell coffee here. Not my cup of tea.

josephineds

I don't really get the notes listed at all, defo no coffee, no nutmeg and no cinnamon, not a lot of experience with cardamom. I just get soapiness, not what I wanted. I expected a spicy sweet gourmand.

themattsky

Smells like Mugler's original A-Men - love it!

AboTurky

emil1724

super dark, i got kind of a boozy, dark coffee with a little caramel. its also a little spicy because of the heavy cardamom and hint of nutmeg. its very sweet, but has enough contrast from spice and coffee, which is important for me. its very different from what i usually wear, so i will have to test further. but so far i really like it. might pick up a bottle for winter wear. good longevity and projection

outerwilds

Cardamom bomb! I barely get any of the other notes, perhaps a little coffee in the dry down. The longevity is great, and the projection is impressive. I can only use one small spray of this.
I don’t think I’ll get a full bottle when my sample runs out as it is quite intense and can’t picture myself wearing it too often without getting a bit sick of it. I’ll revisit this in fall/winter however as I feel it’s definitely more of a cold weather scent.

Frankly B

Very heavy and dark. I like it for layering, but it is super intense by itself. Smoky and coffee-forward. It is definitely unisex— do we worry about labels like that anymore?

Aizen1987

It smells amazing, with strong cardamom fragrance.
As some one from India/ Kerala this smell too familiar though. This smells like our spice market.
Even a sweet caramelly jaggery(unrefined sugar with molases) note was there in the opening.

This time I got the reformulation (I think). It smells like soap. No more of that sweet jaggery like note, just soap after a few minutes. very disappointing.
(The fragrance was so different I tried it from another vendor also, but same disappointing soapy smell)

Edit- Nevertheless, after dry down it has a beautiful crispy fragrance.
& I managed to get along with the new reformulations.

Now I started putting some cardamom in my south Indian milk coffee. It taste wonderful.
It taste like I am using actual jaggery in Coffey, pretty handy discovery ,for I only use stevia or erythritol for sweetening.
We put cardamom in Cha but not in coffee, I wonder why, since cardamom grows here & is native to our mountains.

Edit 2
Ok was not using this for months & now it seems to have macerated & that beautiful cardamom, molasse like sweet smell is back & masked all the soapiness.

Maddieh

Plz give me this without the patchouli note 🙏🍀 other than this specific request I've got nothing absolutely gonna love this on others! Might just need a travel for safe keep.

rizasman

One of the Best Turkish Coffee scents.Amazing.

monsieur.moustache

An indulgent chocolate fragrance with hints of coffee in the opening. Can't imagine any fan of gourmand fragrances disliking this. It is the quintessence of the genre.

Best for cooler temperatures and nighttime.

10/10

MarkoPeeko

Landed a 30ml travel set recently with 4 X 7.5ml bottles. Intoxicated is one of those.

First hit reminded me of Mugler’s A-Men. That unmistakeable coffee and spice mix. There’s a slightly danky, earthy vibe in this, possibly from the nutmeg, however, that disappears and this wonderful sweetness shines through from the cinnamon.

I find this slightly sweeter than A-Men but just as long lasting. Projection is moderate to strong. Maybe not as prominent as A-Men, but still noticeable.

Worth the $400 AUD for a 50ml bottle? If you’ve the cash to splash. Tbh, I’d be happy spunking $75 on a 100ml bottle of A-Men again.

Still a classy number, all the same.

CMaingi

This is so intoxicating. I never stopped sniffing this. It’s a perfect unisex with the right skin chemistry. Some ladies may find this too masculine but sometimes I layer this with a soft gourmand to make female appealing this is not for every woman but can easily be worn on a romantic dinner. Wearing this around the work area might be very risky. But damn!! I have never used drugs but if this is what being high feels. I wants feel like this forever.

scenturian

One of my favourite from Kilian.
Basically a cardamom bomb, hard to get coffee and cinnamon notes.
Overall it smells like a luxurious soap.
Reminds me Angel by Mugler, but not that harsh.
Leaning on masculine side. Wearing in summer might be challenging.
Very potent, so be easy on the trigger.

★★★★☆

Anabanana08

Such a beautiful spiced coffee

cpsottak

This fragrance evokes a scent memory. It reminds me of my Nans house from childhood, the smell coming from the wooden cellar stairs you’re walking down, smells like antiquity. Truly intoxicating

Sheherazad

Invokes MidEast. Warm, spicy, intense cardamom arabica coffee laced w/ araq, steam rising from the tiny gilded glass cup. Dangerous & delicious. A dusky, evocative sip of sensuality.

*loves_shoes*

Had the travel size for ages. Just got a full bottle.
This is unisex. It has a sweetness you wouldn’t expect looking at the notes. A touch of vanilla maybe?
Every time I wear this I get compliments.
However, this is not for the woman who likes only the current generic all-smell-the-same LVEB-style sweet scents. This is a spicy, daring, in-your-face type of scent, it demands attention.
I’d love it on my man as much as on me.
And I love wearing it in autumn snd over the festive season. However I’m still wearing it in April so it’s fine as long as the weather isn’t too hot.

a00000k

I get some sweetness in the opening which I think is the nutmeg. After that, strong benzoin with a hint of chocolate and vanilla in the background.

Soothing scent that sits fairly close to the skin.

abbie_sayshello

I was so ready for a strong coffee fragrance, especially at this price point; but all i got was a strong back licorice.

leriver

Turkish coffee with cardamom, more warm spices and a twist of lime. After my first sprays the citrus turned me off, but after a week I could not stop sniffing my arm. A delicious poisoned coffee. Picked up a full bottle and Intoxicated has become my current addiction. So addicted I have it sprayed on a ceramic block at my desk to haunt me all day. I wear this for me and go noseblind after an hour, but when checking into a hotel a stranger asked me what I was wearing, over 5 hours after applying. Proceed with caution.

asiarakk

Masculine scent. Blindly bought 7,5ml travel version. Tried once and it’s unwearable. Truly man’s scent. Very rough, spices and coffee dominant. Very new money but smells expensive. Little bit tacky. Very “Kilian”.

E.L.2002

I'm not a fan of ByKilian, but this fragrance is actually good.
The main note is cardamom combined with coffee, vanilla and other spices.

But is it worth the price? For 50ml? Considering that it doesn't even perform well...

Scent 8/10
Performance 6/10
Versatility 7/10

TheFragranceShark

By Kilian Intoxicated is a fragrance that will have you feeling buzzed with just one spritz! With notes of cardamom, coffee, nutmeg, and cinnamon, it's like a warm hug from your favorite barista... or a warm hug from a serial killer who just brewed a fresh pot of coffee. This scent is perfect for anyone who wants to smell like they've been mainlining espresso all day, or for those who want to attract attention from the FBI's most wanted list. Just don't try to light a match near your wrist, because you may burst into flames from the explosive aroma, or attract even more attention from the aforementioned FBI's most wanted list. In conclusion, By Kilian Intoxicated is the perfect fragrance for anyone who wants to embrace their inner caffeine addict... or their inner Hannibal Lecter

Lyonside

I’m a woman and I’m sure that this perfume can express itself better on male skin. On me it is very fresh, almost like a home cleaning product (it reminds me of an expensive floor polish). Men’s skin can highlight better the spicy notes (where I assume the magic lies). The dry down is really nice.

JamesGamez

Love it! Imagine A*men without the tar note, and not as sweet.

Keemun

The more I wear this, the more all I get is patchouli/hemp. The coffee/cardamom is definitely there, but I feel it takes a back seat. Maybe I'm just sensitive to patchouli.

jroyogi

this is good

Change123

My best perfum ,so spacil ,and unique ,
A bit expensive, so I don't use it daily.

Seuni

This is SO close to Mugler's A*men I can't understand why you'd pay the price of Kilian. It's 90% the same and I mean it - it's just this one is a touch more airy, and mugler is a touch denser and has that 'tar/rubber' note.

Unisex leaning masculine, 12h+ strong, absolutely not office safe, colder months.

blurb2

I want a full bottle so bad, this is my favorite gourmand scent I've ever come across. If you like coffee and/or cardamom fragrances, it is a must smell.

DearAlexabell

Not a coffee scent like I was lead to believe… this is dark and spicy but not in a good way for me.. I was not a fan of this, I usually love that scent profile but this was a no for me… it definitely leans masculine. It’s super strong to the nose & has decent lasting power which sucked cause I didn’t like it & got stuck with it. It can become nauseating for me. Pass for me,

LALDN

I was hoping this would be the coffee scent for me, but there is something leaning cold in the fragrance, and I’m not sure yet. There is a chocolate undertone and I get what people mean when they say soapy and that’s really a bummer for this scent profile.

josephineds

again another scent that mentiones coffee as an important note and where you just don't get a hint of it...
it smells like fresh shower gel but like you're trying to wash yourself with it in an old church cause it has this musty smell to it... not good

meama

Licorice with a pungent, green cardamom which lasts from start to finish on skin, creating a nauseating contrast like a turkish coffee spit into a bucket of cleaning product.
(Calice Becker seems to have this talent to transform all the possible notes into the smell of shampoo)
The minor improvement in quality and depth compare to A*Men are insignificant (except the 250€ gap between them).
Mediocre

boolinbilly

Smells of lovely Turkish coffee. Very aromatic and dry, the cardamon isn't as heavy as i thought it would be. A love from me.

jpipe

Absolutely love this one. Cardamom is my favourite spice, and this has has an amazing, natural accord. It really is like cracking open some green cardamom pods. Paired with coffee it's heaven for me.

The rest of the composition is nicely balanced to my nose. Fragrantica is missing some notes, but according to Kilian, the base is caramelised sugar. I can detect this sweetness, but the overall composition is well balanced with the natural spices, and I can pick up an orangey citrus accord early on. Next to the spices, it's like adding sliced oranges to mulled wine. A kind of sharpness that adds another facet to the mix.

Overall this smells very high quality to me. Compared to another coffee fragrance I have - Polo Red Extreme, this is like a Rolls Royce in comparison.

amyaz

Usually a fan of Kilian. Unfortunately this is a pass for me. Good longevity, 6ish hours and I was still catching whiffs. However it started off slightly soapy and then not sure what happened because it really started smelling like a weird mix of patchouli and cardamom on me, even though patchouli isn't listed as a note. Once it hit that (about 30min) it didn't develop any further and that's all I kept smelling.
Akro Awake still my go to coffee fragrance but I'm glad I atleast tried this one.

Chocobaby

This is intoxicating. It’s very well blended and smooth. I cannot discern any of the notes, even though I know what each one smells like. It’s deep and cozy and the dry down smells like an intense version of Guerlain’s L’instant. Strange, as there are no similarities in the notes. I cannot stop sniffing myself.

ismellsomething

I have great experience with it, after first note evaporate, second note is even better and long lasting.

UFChrisB

This is genuinely addictive. "Intoxicated" is the perfect name for this one. It is just outstanding. The coffee, cardamom and cinnamon combination make this so alluring, cozy and warm. There is also a "green" aspect/note in this that occasionally pops out from the background. It's just beautiful. This is definitely a cold, rainy, snowy day fragrance. The days that would cause you to reach for a hot chocolate or a hot cinnamon cider are the days you should think about wearing "Intoxicated."

thongvm2711

Vintage version in hand. I thought:"Downy fabric softener?".
It's not in the notes but I feel the Lavender, reminiscent of the 80's vintage feel.
The cool and sweet Nutmeg and the spicy green Cardamom are 2 notes throughout the process. The two blend together to create a clean high bar mixture.

Love this, marvelous scent, dry down is so addictively pleasant I keep smelling my wrist. It's a compound smell to my nose can't pick any note but you do feel each one of them while smelling it.
If this was released 30 yrs ago it would be screaming like Kouros but it's very toned down and much clean scent.
I''l put this in more masculine leaning scents.
One of those fragrances where I buy a lot of backups and since I discovered it's clone which is 99% same with great performance, I got a lot of it may be like 4 liters all put together.
Winter scent, I'll not wear it in summer.

Scent 9/10 If you like the notes coffee, cardamom, nutmeg, aromatic spices etc you'll love this.
Sillage 7/10 The projection comes to arm's length within 3 hrs and 1 ft. after 6 hrs.
Longevity 9/10 Stays 8 plus hrs on my skin but the jacket in hanger still had it after 2 days.
Value 6/10 Expensive but the scent is marvelous try to get the clone along apply 50/50 to save OG.

I'm not really a huge fan of this house in general, I feel it really caters to the club crowd. I've had bad luck with Straight To Heaven, as it lasted about five minutes on me (shockingly I was able to return it) and Angel's Share dries down to a toothpaste smell on me; that one I sampled. However, Black Phantom and now Intoxicated are in my collection.

There are definite similarities between the two, both in scent and smoothness. Both have a coffee vibe but they dry down quite differently. What I feel By Kilian does well, especially with these two scents, is create this smoothness you don't get with many other fragrances. There's no sharp edges whatsoever. This may make it sound like they are softer fragrances and therefore don't perform well but that's not the case for either. I usually do three sprays; two on the neck, one on the chest, and this combo gets me over 24 hours on the skin and over 12 hours of decent projection. There's a definite boozy quality to this with some coffee but no alcohol, a quality scent.

The issue for many of us will be the price point. $350 CDN for 50 ml's is nuts, especially now they don't sell them in the cool boxes anymore. I got mine with a ton of gift certificates, I would never pay full price.

If you love By Kilian, you already own this. If you're like me and not a fan of the house in general, definitely give this one (and Black Phantom) a try.

NOSEYBODY

Upon its initial spray all at once I get notes of Cardamom, Nutmeg, & Lavender blended with Milk Chocolate, Coffee, & spiked with Whiskey.

Its both fresh spicy & warm spicy with a fleeting Whiskey note.

Cardamom, Lavender, & Patchouli give the fragrance a vintage 80's feel & its perfectly woven within its semisweet gourmand notes, which helps Intoxicated to lean more masculine.

As Intoxicated dries down further Patchouli lends a subtle Earthy nuance like wet soil. Its in this stage where it begins to turn warm spicy with the introduction of Cinnamon.

The Phantom notes I pick up on are Lavender, Whiskey, Chocolate, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Cedar, Sandalwood, & Patchouli.

Imagine Thierry Mugler's Pure Malt done Niche, with none of the synthetic rubbery nuances the A*Men line is known for.

Intoxicated is very intoxicating. It's dark, mysterious, & sexy. Its a weapon of seduction in the right hands.

rickkkkky

Quite astonishing how you can make coffee smell so fresh, clean, and soapy! I simply adore this scent profile, there's no way around it.

However, when it comes to performance... a *massive* dissapointment. The ratings overstate Intoxicated's performance beyond belief. This is a total skin scent in under 30 minutes, and the longevity is a total joke, especially for a fragrance coming in at 250 EUR for 50ml.

10-15 sprays and you're good to go.

Vegas Pauli

It opens fresh and somewhat green, then the coffee kicks in and the two kind of clash. Muddy dull coffee vs the bright cardamom. The coffee isn't robust or nutty but slightly weak and bitter, like maybe green unroasted coffee beans. I find this mix interesting. Comes across as brisk with an alluring sexiness from the coffee. Too much of this and it can turn a bit thick and heavy. Keep it light and this will attract attention in a good way. Starts off cool then warms up on the skin. Can be worn to the office without annoying others it has a subtle kind of feel. The dry down turns peppery thus this tilts more on the masculine side in my book. Fans of This is Not a Blue Bottle from Histories de Parfumes will like this. Recommended

Dmh9404

I'm new to perfume reviews, IANAE! I loved the coffee scent and just overall sexiness of this perfume. I received a sample of this and exclusively used it for fancy date nights and events, weddings, fundraisers etc. I do wish that this was available in a smaller size as I'm not sure I would like a larger size to use for every day, but for special occasions it is quite exotic.

jassca99

Smelling Intoxicated makes me think my beloved Kilian Black Phantom, which I categorized as unisex and sometimes masculine, is now straight unisex maybe leaning feminine. This is a “masculine”, very spicy, heavy on cardamom and nutmeg, dry, slight coffee fragrance. It’s a little bitter and not very sweet but slightly sweeter and more projecting than Straight to Heaven which is completely unsweetened to me (for comparison, if you’re looking for a dry nutmeg fragrance). It’s more like a small coffee bush planted next to a large cardamom plant, than a coffee drink so just a heads up. Intoxicated still smells cozy and like a fragrance rather than food and will smell great on a man, in my opinion.

TjSmellsGood

Basically entirely cardamom and nutmeg. I make Indian food pretty frequently, I have a big bag of green cardamom pods. It smells like I opened that bag and took a big sniff. It does have a little coffee and cinnamon in it yeah, but the cardamom is like 90% of the scent. The nutmeg gives it kind of an autumn spice mix kind of profile. It's a bit sweet, but really I can't overstate how prominent cardamom is. If you've ever had a chai latte, that's pretty close.

Spicy89

This is a love for me! It's soo warm and cozy.
Intimate sillage and projection, but I find the longevity to be pretty good.
This is a scent for the one who wears it. Like a warm blanket on a cold winters night.

Arsenal Till I Die

I’m not even going to review this. I get a lavender vibe in this as well? All I want to say is.. this is one of the most overrated niche houses there is!

Summer4Life

To me this smells like a blend of Montale Chocolate Greedy with Mugler A*Men. I would rather own and wear any of those (maybe even layered) over this. Not to say this is bad of course – it's quite nice – just not that special or unique for me to justify purchasing it.

Ilikewhatilike

Enjoyable coffee scent. I get a prominent cardamon note and a good dose of nutmeg. Very wearable. Performance was decent on my skin. There are definite similarities with A*MEN. Personally, I see the increased quality in the Kilian.

To enjoy this scent you really need to be a fan of cardamon. After a few tries of this and other fragrances, I don’t think fragrances that are dominant in cardamon are right for me.

RayCashhhh

First impressions: It smells like a gingerbread house. With a hint of coffee in it. Not bad necessarily, but I think it's way overpriced for what it is.

libou

Save your money and buy A*MEN by THIERRY MUGLER!!!

Belli9

really ? i own it, but it smells like a 90-year-old grandfather's castle kitchen. couple days abandoned kitchen in which nothing is cooked well. I don't want to know what he has in the saucepots. so niche. tasty 6/10

Chemason1967

Aptly named because I cannot stop smelling this, absolutely stunning 🤩

The Wolf

I agree with the review below mine. This is not a complex scent. It's simply cardamom and coffee and that's pretty much it. It dries down and smells like if you make Turkish coffee into a fragrance. I love Kilian but I don't care for this one.

I'm glad I sampled first. It's not bad per se, it smells like quality ingredients (albeit linear) like most Kilian frags. Not my thing, but if you love coffee, and want to smell like it, then check this one out.

Turkish coffee and cardamom with a slight "perfumy" feel.

Scent 5/10
Performance 7.5

Salinas99luis

Well, this is just coffee, cardamom and Nutmeg; LOVELY fragrance, just a bit similar to A*Men, but A*men is not nearly as good as this Banger.

motorjon68

I love the cardamom and coffee with hints of booze. It’s simply delicious. I’ve never smelled A Men but purchased Angel for my wife, so I was excited to get this scent. I thing it’s subtle and brilliant.

Sunnn

I love this fragrance. It´s aromatic and warm but also "airy" in some way. I love it so much because it is sexy, elegant and very addictive. It performs well and I can see it as a perfect scent for a special occasion but also just as a pleasant scent to wear on a normal day/evening. I wear it all year round except on hot summer days (I use it on summer evenings at times though).

I understand why many people says that this is similar to A Men by Mugler but i disagree. I mean, yeah there are some similarities and maybe Intoxicated is inspired by A men but this is on another level. A men is cheaper than this but it does smell cheaper also . This is more refined, smells more natural , it is more sophisticated and have more depth. If you smell A man and Intoxicated side by side you will see that these two are 2 different scents and that if you like intoxicated you can not replace it with A men. Not at all. If you are on a budget and want something similar than ok, A men will do, but if you can afford the price (I know, the price is very high on this one) Intoxicated is a wonderful fragrance, maybe one of the best of this house. That´s why a lot of people that don´t like A men loves Intoxicated!

I don´t usually care if I get compliments or not, to me the only important thing is that I like what I wear, but with this fragrance you will get a lot of compliments for sure. You won´t go unnoticed, i can guarantee that. ;)
Amazing scent!

likesleet

cinnamon / coffee + a little soapy on the drydown. loveeeeeee it though.

BrooklynFreshness

I really liked this when smelling it at Bloomingdales and even on the scent card; however, after leaving the card in the car for a couple days and returning to get a whiff again, it smelled horrible, just funky. I purchased a bottle and hope it doesn't smell like that on me after the dry down, if so, it's a no for me and I will be returning it. I returned the Kologne, as it didn't last more than an hour after spraying. Who wants to pay $280 for a bottle that you can't smell after 30 minutes! If this one doesn't work, I don't think I will be trying another one from them in the future.

Adog22

Smells like hotel soap. Super nice though

Pilikins

I just received this and I am pleased with it as a bb. I was hoping for a deep coffee perfume, which it is. However it definitely leans masculine because of the aromatic cardamom, and it is not nearly as sweet as I was expecting given the reviews here. However it will blend very well with sweeter amber or vanilla perfumes to get just what was looking for. So anyone looking for a potential coffee perfume for women, don’t be afraid of this if you are happy to blend.
Edit: I have tried blending with Tihota which was ok but not fantastic. However I also tried with Widian Black I and that is an amazing combo, sweet (but not too sweet) coffee, spices and sandalwood- perfect! Another great blend is Calaluna which turns out like creamy cardamom cafe latte😊

ingeneuxo

-Nondescript blend of coffee bean, tobacco leaf, and a bit of cacao.
-I'm not super certain if my blotter strip has been contaminated but I pick up a soapy undertone to this...rather likely from Kilian's Dark Knight.
-Intoxicated isn't the least bit intoxicating, unless it's hinting at sobering up after a night of binge-drinking...courtesy of cheap coffee from the gas station. (-)

IamdrinkingBeer

Take, A*Men, tone it down, put some cardamom and stronger coffee note, and bam! This is my second favorite from Kilian, it is intoxicating indeed, really easy to like.

Seamayde

I kind of surprised myself with how much I loved it, tbh, because I don’t usually go for food-adjacent scents. On me it is very unisex indeed, leaning more fem than not, and the scent very memory-evocative: it is just like having a nice strong black coffee with cardamom at one of those little outdoor cafes in a sun-warmed Mediterranean city, with wafts of spices and incense and flowering citrus orchards vaguely in the background. The dry down is a fairly nuanced vanilla, with smoky-incense notes. Incredibly satisfying.

Lady Nightshadow

I apologize with those who love this fragrance, this is not a positive review as my skin badly messes up with its notes and this is the second chance I'm giving to it - the first one was even worse (all I could smell was ammonia).

On my skin, Intoxicated initially smells like a cleaning disinfectant product, I imagine this is the cardamom, I don't really know, but there's something really pungent that starts with a bang and ligers through the whole experience.
I can see why they called it intoxicated, because that's actually how this makes me feel.

I managed to survive the initial punch and finally, the development is not bad at all, the spices are more distinct and softer, but still, it retains a green, pungent edge that gives me a lavander cologne vibe.
If this is the coffe, they need to check it because I think it's gone bad.
The spices are dry, indeed intoxicating, almost bitter to the point of giving a fresh vibe.
The spoiled cologne comes back in the end haunting me furthermore.

I didn't expect that my skin could fight this bad with a fragrance.
Overall, Intoxicated is a masculine scent that requires moderation in application, otherwise it becomes quickly overpowering.
Not a safe blind buy, definitely needs to be tested before buying.
It's not really appropriate for an office environment unless your skin really manages to make it bloom.

A previous review suggests to try this in colder months, and that might be the key to this scent, but at the same time it's a 200 euro per 50 ml fragrance: I think that you need - at least - to like its DNA all year round to consider it as a possible collection addition.

SalivatingSoul-stice

This smells exactly like Mugler Amen in the opening. It's coffee with that unusual soapy freshness combo DNA mugler has. I haven't tested it extensively on the drydown so it might be just a tad different but as of now, this is an extremely close clone of Amen

Hed-noi

This smells like you're just out of the shower in the morning and you get a good cup of coffee.
A little soapy, a little spicy, with a hint of coffee.

Arber Cami

Opening is quite potent from the spicy cardamom. Dries down to a pleasant, spicy coffee with hints of fresh citrus in the background. Challenging but definitely worth trying.

mrluctoretemergo

A more refined, more sophisticated Angel by Mugler. Excellent ! My wife can wear this everyday if she wants to.(but unisex for sure)

9,5/10

zackrevolvex

this is art for your nose. really. very warm spicy

Chinadoll36

I am a female who enjoys masculine scents. I was excited by the notes on this, seems pretty straight forward. As soon as you apply it, you get a burst of cold spices and a touch of coffee. Seems promising, until the strange dry down. On my skin, this pulls so floral! Almost soapy as well. I have not been confused by a frag in a long time, and this one has me confused. There is nothing intoxicating about this scent, to me. It has a slight cold spice undertone but its drown out by a strange synthetic lily/rose combo going on. Its not listed but I swear that is all I smell! Sits very close to my skin, does not project. To me, this is not intoxicating. I was expecting a bomb of semi sweet, warm spices, with a touch of darkness in the background from the coffee, something to draw you in and make you wonder. Maybe it is just my skin chemistry, but this completely missed the mark for me. I do not need every scent to be ground breaking, but for the price and the performance, this is a hard no for me.

blairwarner

I was searching for a cardamom-forward scent, and this is it! On me, it starts with an aromatic, green cardamom that eventually gets warmed up by the coffee notes which are more creamy than a black coffee kind of situation - the coffee notes are there to support and lift the cardamom instead of compete. In the base (which, for me, comes after 8ish hours of wear), it's a nice, smooth vanilla vibe.

This scent reminds me of making krumkake for Christmas-time with my grandmother. It's not the cooked krumkake but the batter, which is the best part. Creamy, spicy, and soothing. Not sure how it'll perform in the summer, but this is now on my regular rotation and one of my favorites. Intoxicated doesn't over-complicate things, and it's better for it.

EDIT: This is NOT one to wear in high heat! The cardamom turns a little BO-ish, and it's not so pleasant anymore. Save Intoxicated for those more crisp days.

briannadedrew

I would really like this on a man, but I think it is way more masculine than it is unisex so I am not a fan of it on me personally. It is very much a cardamom bomb, I don't get much coffee at all. It also reminds me of Angel by Mugler but, again, more masculine (and I would actually prefer this to Angel).

JK731

This was my SOTD for Fragrance Day :). Despite being the first or second day of Spring, it was a gloomy and rainy day and Intoxicated was the perfect scent for two reasons: 1) because fragrances, in general, have a mood and perception-altering effect, similar to intoxication, so this was a celebration to the world of fragrances, and 2) because the day just needed something warm and spicy--a little "pick me up," if you will.

Story aside, this is a bewitching fragrance. It envelops you in a cloud of warmth, comfort, and seduction all at the same time. I'm left feeling moved by it and I love when that happens. I get a moment of clarity where I get it. It clicks, it makes sense.

I wouldn't categorize this as either feminine or masculine. I'm refraining from saying 'unisex' because I don't even want to define it. It just is.

Probably best for winter and fall (or gloomy spring days)

9/10 for me (the only reason why it's not a 10/10 is because of the seasonal restriction)

sk8-daniel-96

Intoxicated is in second place right after Black Phantom in my by Kilian chart. I can smell a fresh n' spicy coffe enriched by a pleasant cardamom. I also received a few compliments wearing it.
Cons: price .. You can have a 50ml bottle with "just" € 205,00

JazzFragrance

Gorgeous fragrance from kilian! In my top 3 from the house. Slightly spicy, slightly boozy, coffee, cardamom, cinnamon fragrance. Truly is intoxicating. Reminds me of fresh Turkish coffee with a salted caramel sweet on the side. There is something addicting about this fragrance that people love!

careebearr

Initial blast of spices, mainly cardamom, then mellows out into a cozy chai tea. The coffee note is barely noticeable on me, which could be due to the fact that I'm using a dabber. Not what I expected but I really like it. It's not overly sweet at all. You have to like cardamom in order to like this one. I would say this is unisex, maybe leaning a little masculine.

mangooo

This smells like straight cardamom to me, which alone is not super appealing and I had to wash it off because it started to get a little cloying. but it works well mixed with other fragrances to add some spice. To me this is unisex, it's spice heavy but I can see anyone being able to pull this off.

ArkangeL

Who knew wearing spiced coffee could be so sexy? “Intoxicated” is the right adjective to describe this fragrance, especially if you love gourmands as much as I do. Addict would have been a great title, but Dior got the jump on that one. Kilian executes yet another perfect gourmand without being dependent on vanilla. Turkish coffee is the note present throughout the lifespan of this fragrance, but nutmeg is not shy here either. Green cardamom makes it interesting and keeps the fragrance from smelling too much like you spilled Starbucks in your lap. There is a subtle powdered cinnamon note that lingers ever so faintly in the background, allowing a beautiful finish. While this is notably more masculine than Black Phantom, it is still very much gender neutral. Comparisons? For those of you familiar with Thierry Mugler (R.I.P.), Intoxicated is strikingly similar to Angel A*Men Pure Coffee with a touch of Angel A*Men Pure Malt. Addictively intoxicating and by far my favorite coffee fragrance… for now.

cbrewerton

Why is nobody talking about the fact that this smells like a pine tree? Like a REALLY potent pine tree candle from like Yankee Candle or something.

nsquared

After the initial cardamom top, the mid and the dry down smell almost exactly like Mugler A*Men (Angel for Men).

derby2169

While I think by Kilian is a very competent brand when it comes to their fragrances, their marketing (similar to MFK) seems misleading, almost a bit condescending when they present us 3 note fragrances that actually smell like 30 notes.
Intoxicated by no means smells like cardamom and coffee alone. In fact coffee centered perfumes rarely work, because coffee is quintessentially a top note. Think of the smell of freshly brewed coffee, it doesn't linger long, it almost immediately evaporates and fleets away. Same goes for cardamom.
What you actually get here is a very tricky masterful transition between dry aromatic spice components and a soft sugary marshmallow-like oriental sandalwood-y vanillic base, linked to another via a elaborately hidden floral accord.
When I first read the comments, I was surprised no one mentioned rose or geranium, but before everyone dismisses my review, check the elaborate note pyramid on Nose Paris and you will find geranium listed as a heart note. To my nose it is closer to a rose accord, but the concept is the same, connecting the ethereal top note of coffee with the warm sugary base, whilst giving it enough air to expand and breathe. Clearly a trick inspired by older Mugler offerings.
I feel it is a touch feminine overall just due to the sugary sweetness, but men can still comfortably wear it. Very warm and spicy, for me more of a winter scent. Longevity is massive.

antoniov

It smells sweet, has coffee hints and it creates a cozy/warm feeling but the cardamon ruins it for me as it ends up not being sweet coffee like Coffee Break from MM. I think I prefer Black Phantom from Kilian.

Nnfigui

I dont know what i was expecting.. but not thissss ... it was a blind bought and i kind of regretted.
I dont get the sweetness i just get coffee and lemon, and not the sweet coffee scent, it smells like when you spill coffee and let it dry for a couple of hours.. i want to like it .. but i dont think i would use it that much, not with so many great options out there.. i also think i would like this more on a guy..

Trendkill97

Lactonic, reminds me of "cardamom chai", warm, sweet, tinge of patchouli with some bitter spiced coffee, extremely similar to A*Men, but this is more powdery, less cloying for sure, airy and refined, more tamed and well-balanced, lasting the entire day getting whiffs from time to time. Overall, a great cold weather confidence boosting scent, that's pleasant and cosy, makes its presence felt around your close circle. 8/10

sf2explus

this smells like A men for men original formulation but a bit spicier. blended a bit better. but almost the same scent. mugler fragrances in the early 2000's used to be such high quality you can compare niche fragrances from these days to it in terms of quality

atifkhan60

Nice fragrance but another flavour of middle eastern fragrances , oud! Overly priced. Always test before investing.

holocene445

Oh damn. Reading about it online I thought I would like it since it has all the notes I love. Unfortunately it smells like my grandfather's cologne from the 90's. I can't specify any notes, it's just very strong and overwhelming. More masculine than feminine. I can see why people like it but it's not for me sadly.

Fragaddict123

My second favourite by kilian after angels share
I get the resemblance to angel man but it’s not identical
Here you get cardamom and coffee though I don’t get cardamom in angel and less coffee as well
The smoothness of this one is a Beauty sometimes way smoother than what I like
If it was a little more powerful it would be a must buy for me
A hint for people who tried Arabian coffee if you love the smell of Arabian coffee this fragrance is for you

Rico88

I have tested this one day by accident and I just fell in love. It smell like a beautiful Arabian coffee which I think some of the reviews I have seen in here are confused with the coffee part. I'm middle eastern and this just smells like a beautiful arabian coffee. This needs to be added to my small collection very soon.

*loves_shoes*

I put this one on today randomly. And what an amazing Christmas fragrance!
Totally unisex (surprisingly, but genuinely no strong male dry down or anything, it’s just spicy, which maybe some people find masculine but I don’t, I find strong woods and vetiver with citrus masculine, not the spice in this).
I’ve just read the review below and I don’t find this similar to AMen. I find that one masculine and a bit thinner and lighter. This is much more spicy and just delicious. Not a fan of AMen. Love this.
Totally Christmas.
Love it!

Edit: I’ve never received so many compliments than when wearing this! My boyfriend’s whole family said I smell nice (we hug and kiss on greeting) and they’ve never said that before! Mainly the men loved it though.

hritz87

I have intoxicated and amen
They are 95% same
Except amen is bit sweeter
And intoxicated has the added cardamom

iszzieanna

A sweet cardamom fragrance.

I do not get much coffee. In the opening, there is a burst of a green, raw coffee. But this is not a café latte coffee. It's a robust, strong coffee. Slowly this dissipates and I am left with a warm, spicy cardamom. Not a full bottle worthy scent for me.

EDIT: a changing cardamom. Very intriguing. Addicted to it now. The cardamom ranges from smokey and soft to soapy. It’s an odd one. There’s almost a rose note that’s creamy. And the coffee note can be smelt at occasional whiffs.

thestranger

I love all of the listed notes, so I thought I'd love this one! For the first 30 minutes this had a sharp and harsh quality to it that I didn't enjoy - I couldn't pick out any of the individual notes. It mellowed out afterwards into something very dry and cold. I have to go pretty close to my wrist to smell, I think I've become anosmic to it

Rjdee

This scent just last 24 hours with two sprays on my skin after me showering as well. Love this juice.

Alisha_

I passed by the Kilian stand and thought I might as well try some of the perfumes while thinking that I wasn’t going to be impressed. I also felt like I wasn’t willing to join the hype train and jump on a perfume brand just because Rihanna wears it. I asked to try Black Phantom and Intoxicated on a tester strip and I was blown away and I instantly asked to test both on my skin. Both scents are really strong and both are intoxicating and so beautiful. In the end I asked my boyfriend to choose the best one on my skin (it was a difficult decision for him) and he chose intoxicated. I was fortunate to get a full bottle as a gift as it is really expensive.

I tried the perfume again once I got home and I realised that one spray is enough for me as it creates an extremely strong perfume cloud around me that lasts for 3 hours and fills up the room. After 3 hours the scent comes closer to the skin but still maintains the strong cardamom/ coffee scent. After a while the scent further develops into a creamy vanilla coffee. This perfume is definitely for very special occasions and for evening/ night and most definitely only for the colder weather.

Fyi I also tried several other perfumes from Kilian and they were all incredible, so smooth and well blended. Definitely made it’s way to becoming one of my favourite perfume houses.

Comrade Zagoryanskaya

Got this fragrance by note description that falls into my very favourite category. Of course I didn’t expect it to be feminine but thought it’s going to be kind of Black Phantom or TF TV type of unisex. All the notes are there (well maybe not that much of coffee) but although well done the blend is much greener and more retro than I expected and to my nose and taste it turned out to be 100% percent masculine - no ifs or buts. So if this is not something you’re looking for plz be careful. And seriously I need to stop blind buying.

Sam654

I personally don’t want to blast everyone out of the room with “beast mode “. Intoxicated is perfect for me. A short cloud around me, not too sweet (which can be an issue with some gourmands) and lasts. One of my favorites.

Trayce

By Killian intoxicated - Opens with a big blast of cardamom and nutmeg it’s spicy and fresh but rich at the same time. After the opening it turns sorta powdery but not fully. The cinnamon sweets up the Turkish coffee in the mid which last the entire fragrance. This is a ♣️ Cardamom dominant fragrance so beware it’s not youthful at all it’s mature and sophisticated. The coffee in this is trying to replicate Turkish coffee so don’t blind buy this thinking it smells like Starbucks or Folgers.

Longevity - 6+ hours 6/10
Projection - 8/10 it’s strong
Overall - 7/10 it’s okay not bad for a night event

QueenieIrenie

Well-blended, fresh, yet warm and spicy. I find this more fresh than spicy, especially as it dries down. Fresh enough for day, spicy enough for evening. I can't really pick up on coffee or cinnamon as individual notes, but I think I can smell cardamom and maybe nutmeg. I like the fragrance, but it is too masculine for my taste. I have a travel size and will give it to my husband, I think it will smell great on him. I can confidently rock Black Phantom, maybe because of the sweetness and slight powderiness, but with this one, I just feel like I'm wearing a men's fragrance. Not that I find anything wrong with that, I just prefer to wear fragrances that are more unisex or feminine. Also, it does not project much. I have Black Phantom on one arm and Intoxicated on the other, and the latter is getting dwarfed by the former. To be fair, out of all the Kilians I've tried, BP is the closest to "beast mode" from this house, as most Kilian fragrances do not come close to filling a room. Most seem to project no more than an arm's length. But I still think that Intoxicated is well-made. For me, I don't need to fill a room but I enjoy a nice scent cloud around me, but longevity needs to be there. The scent cloud dissipates fairly quickly but the overall longevity is there (purchased in 2019, so I can't compare to more recent batches).
Edit: I could swear I feel patchouli on the drydown, but neither the Kilian website or Fragrantica list it as a note. Perhaps the coffee note in this is earthier, like wet grounds.

ScentFan2021

This smells like a flanker of one of the Angel Men fragrances by Mugler, but not nearly as good. It opens that way and then goes somewhere else after 20 minutes that is irritating on my skin. I'm sure it smells fine on other people, but not me, so hard pass.

Linear, weak projection, and smells exactly like Cola w/ dry woodiness!
This scent has so much potential and I can understand the appeal, but for me it just doesn't get the job done - especially for the price!

Smells like the palaces of gulf royalty.

The ingredient breakdown is basically the recipe for traditional gulf coffee served in the majlisis during a funeral wedding or special occassion.

This is the smell of money plain and simple.

Had a opportunity to visit the local By Kilian booth and tried this. Really loved it and almost bought it. Tried it on skin and was so disappointed. It just didn’t last on my skin unfortunately. Had to go for something else.

Had the opportunity to buy a used bottle from someone at a good deal.

Kai_11

Peppery coffee to start, but the coffee fades within 15 mins. Not as sweet as expected- a bit of a slightly sweet, buttery musk that’s throwing me off a bit. It is (slightly) masculine leaning on my skin.

Anabol2336

My father had Mugler Amen when I was a kid back in the 90's. This scent reminds me of sneaking into his bedroom and spraying it all over me before I went to school. I will say despite the similarities, Intoxicated is a much more appealing and sexy scent than Amen is by far. It's also longer lasting if you can believe that because everyone knows Amen is or was extremely powerful. Anyway I definitely recommend this fragrance for fall and winter. You will stand out and get positive feedback for sure.

AlaskanAngel

Nice, fresh, cardamom scent but I never smelled the coffee, so that was disappointing. It also dries down to a more "cologne" type of scent instead of the gourmand I was expecting. The longer it wears on my skin the more it smells like soap or deodorant. Not edible on me at all but clean.

LMBelvi

Gorgeous. Edible. Sexy but not drop dead so it’s friendly enough for a more casual occasion as well as date night.

alexandrinemontcroix

The beginning of the fragrance is truly intoxicating. Spicy cardamom coffee that I can´t stop sniffing. Maybe I just need to give it some more time, get used to or even start liking the soapiness which comes out pretty quickly.

EDIT: Second time wearing my sample of Intoxicated and I think I am starting to like the drydown too :O

EtRnitY

Mocha, cardamon, vanilla, with spices and probably a touch of alcohol (whiskey). The spices (cinnamon and cardamom) help this fragrance from going too gourmand or strong, and create an addictive and intoxicating scent.
Start is spicy and green, vanilla and coffee develop fast and it rapidly becomes addictive.
It's really intoxicating in a good way, enigmatic, intimate, dark and elegant, black and green, very contrasted.
Expensive, try a sample, like any other expensive niche fragrance, especially Killian.

nszlufik

Off the bat pleased me with a a dark, sweet 'Armani Attitude' or Baldessarini 'Secret Mission' vibe but shortly thereafter transitions into a niche-quality version of Pure Havane. This is the rich man's Pure Havane. Dries down into a more sweet, less earthy patchouli scent late into its drydown. Pleasing and nice, perfect for nights and/or cool/cold weather.

Nutmeg & Almond

I am in love with this perfume. Today was a dumb day but Intoxicated lifted my spirits every time I noticed it on my skin. This is technically a coffee scent but I find that the spices, particularly cardamom, steal the show. It almost reminds me of a chai rather than coffee (maybe a Dirty Chai?). Whatever it is, it’s divine. Intoxicated seems to be more masculine but I threw on a black dress, held my head up high, and wore this fragrance with confidence. A huge thank you to Calice Becker and Kilian for this beautiful creation.

LeHuppert

I'm still not sure what the hell this scent is. I hate it from the first whiff until the drydown. Smells like spicy and salty sweet shower gel if that makes any sense. I get absolutely no coffee from this. Can't believe some people call this a gourmand.

Nraveles

The way people compare this to Layton when there’s 0 similarities 🥴
Layton smells like vicks and this smells like coffee mixed with cardamom. There’s like no comparison

executer92

Smells nice but nothing extraordinary, performance is good only for 1 hour after becoming a skin scent. You expect much more from a night out fragrance for that price. Had it for almost a year and in occasion I could use it I choose other fragrances.

Might be a good entry niche fragrance

callmevil

I smell Layton Exclusif in intoxicated.

lia_i_ame

I smell Initio oud for greatness somewhere (maybe coz of the nutmeg)

gg23

This became one of my favourite fragrances after the first time I tried it. Instant love. Truly intoxicating, so one of the few fragrances true to their name. It's a cardamom bomb with a bit of coffee. Definitely an easy attention grabber. I don't think I'll ever be bored of this fragrance (which happens a lot with me) and it's definitely one I'll keep buying as long as they make it! Other people around me also had great reactions to this scent. I think longevity and projection has been pretty good for me so far, although I haven't been able to use it a lot, so not sure about performance yet. Also, stylish beautiful bottle as expected from all Kilian's. 10/10

Kilian Intoxicated

"Unusual Intimacy"

This aromatic and spicy perfume is deep & well aged with cinnamon, whiskey and coffee. Little bit of everything which perfectly blended just like 40+ sophisticated man full of surprises. Both tough and compassionate.

Scent: 10/10
Longevity 7/10
Sillage 9/10
Overall 9/10

Nooshin (Atghia)

I sampled so many coffee-based fragrances and most of them have dominant warm spicy accords. Intoxicated, however, is something different! It’s elegant, sublime and stylish. Sweet and scented with cardamom, sensual and intense, this fragrance evokes Turkish coffee to perfection. Cinnamon and nutmeg complete the dance of warm spices, and conclude it with a caramelized, vanilla note; something like rum as a reminder of Kilian Hennessy’s heritage.

Wail.F

Huge disappointment, the performance is simply a joke, the scent is very linear with no depth. All you will smell is cardamom. This is what you get if you took PDM Layton and only left the cardamom and turned the performance to a zero.

Sjividen

So bummed on this one, can’t pick up on anything except serious amounts of cardamom. Not even a nice cardamom, it’s like a somehow soapy cardamom.

Scent it flying

Cannot understand the reviews below that claim this doesnt last..

I get 12 hours easy out of this before it starts to fade.. and it definitely projects nicely.

Lasts on clothes for days.

That being said.. im not the greatest fan of the opening.. but the dry down is one of the best things youll smell.

Grefvinnan

A modern, high quality take on a classic masculine cologne and it is so perfectly blended. I love that this is only spices and none of the typical pine and tobacco smell. It has that pleasant edge from coffee and nutmeg, with the cinnamon and cardamom to warm it up and smoothe the edges.

TyNel

There's definitely citrus in the opening that makes it brighter and lighten up the darker coffee and cardamom that become more prominent in the mid and the dry down. The cardamom keeps it from going too dark and full gourmand. It's very addictive. The performance is average on me, and very suitable for cooler casual and romantic occasions.

spiceysauce5

Boy is the cardamom strong in this one! Reminds me of marijuana a bit, though it doesn't really smell similar at all, but that almost sour/spiced green-ness ("dank" if you will) quality shines forth in this, and gives the coffee a kick. Really wakes me up like caffeine would haha. A bit too rich for my taste, though it is certainly marketed as such

macy_5

I see it totally unisex, not musculine. It is my favourite Kilian besides Rolling in love. On opening there is something very fresh as it would have citruses, aparently it is cardamom. I see it as very elegant, more minimalistic smell for woman, suitable for day, work or evening.

Leonyarra

Regarding the comparison to A*men, this doesnt have the tar and the milk notes so it is a lot more pleasant. Its basically the best parts of A’men amplified, with all the kooky bits taken away.

everybodyhateschris

Don’t get a noticeable coffee vibe but smells to me almost like a chocolate orange cake with a bunch of cardamom thrown in. The chocolate orange disappears as it dries down and leaves a more soapy, creamy cardamom scent which is almost slightly ambery to me. It’s really nice but I’m not sure the performance warrants the price for me.. Is more or less a skin scent on me after a couple of hours.

Advaitaforever

Very Kilian, it has a similar vibe to Black Phantom. I can see the comparison with Angel as it hits in a similar way but the notes go in a different direction. There is a strong, dark, and rustic espresso coffee that is ground and unmistakably gourmet. This adds a dry texture to the scent. The cardamom is sweet and soothing, contrasting with the bitter coffee. Artistically it's very innovative but practically I'm not sure this would be appreciated by the subject's audience as it isn't very fresh in the drydown. I also wish the cardamom was more abundant (but I say that about every fragrance). In summary, it has that addictive quality of coffee where you want to return for another shot and it definitely triggers a pleasure centre in the brain ;).

M G S 005

Surprisingly...goddamn!!! This one I love...alot. I have chosen not to learn my the tradionaly A B C's of frangrance review in terms of notes, fruits, etc but stick to the human emotives. 😉

It evokes the emotions I felt when wore Interlude Man by Amouage - sauve, confidence and elated! It caresses your sense of smell in a comfy warm way...for a good 10+hours! And everyone around you gets to know why you are walking with you head held up!

The 50ml vs £, is what had me dragging my feet for a long time but it is so worth it!

Таня_х

I really like this on myself, but I would love it even more on a man.
It’s not loud, but you can feel its presence.
Sexy yet elegant.
Longevity is pretty good too.

Smells confident and slightly mysterious.

AlanneSedai

Like all By Kilian scents I’ve tried so far, something magical happens. I feel a strong need to overspray with all of them, because the scent seems to melt into my skin.

Yet this morning my mother confirmed the scent most certainly radiates around me, in a very non offensive and pretty way. She hates most scents I try, but likes Intoxicated. Another half hour later the scent has started to radiate even more. Oops, maybe I could have done with a little less after all. Don’t judge sillage after just spraying.. it develops with the scent!

I think the same thing may be true for other by Kilian scents, they blend and mix so well with my skin, it’s like it’s not perfume anymore, but just my scent. Only a very sophisticated, almost always changing delectable scent.

Intoxicated reminds me of my favorite coffee drink at the local coffee shop, ‘Vanilla fudge’. Strong espresso, with vanilla syrup, no milk, but a dollop of whip cream on top, but as if I’m drinking it in the Turkish Hamam at a spa? Mmm spice and coffee.

I could swear at the opening and throughout I get something citrusy or floral, but it must be the spices. In any case yum, yum, yum. I get whiffs of it that seem to change from wood, coffee, something sweet, something oh.. I don’t know. And when I sniff my wrists it’s different het again. Truly Intoxicating.

According to the By Kilian website, the base contains notes of vanilla and caramelized sugar which are not listed here, but can so be smelled. As By Kilian claims “Inexplicably addictive”, can’t stop sniffing.

Going on my list for a full bottle on short notice. No idea how this works in summer, so I’m going to get it while it’s still cool, so I don’t have to wait until next fall to wear it again. My winter scent for spring's 'Rolling in Love', which I like just a tad more still.

Lolapoop

When I read here ,that people have it short lasting, can't smell coffee etc... You all have dupes. Shortball. Frag is powerful ,long lasting ,great procection ,intoxicating indeed. The secret is to pay more than 40 $

Pacifica_

I really love this fragrance. I personally think it’s a true unisex but I sometimes wear some more typically “masculine leaning” fragrances, so I might be biased. It’s sweet almost vanilla coffee with a bit of spice (cardamom and nutmeg.) It wears really nicely in the winter. I haven’t worn it recently to tell you about performance in the spring. The lasting power is crazy, as with all Kilians. They stick your skin and good luck getting rid of them. Intoxicated in general is inoffensive and gourmand, I really like it. Probably my third favorite Kilian, first being Woman in gold and second being Rolling in love.

mike.ola

How is it 99% of people on here are not mentioning the smell of GINGER!!, it really does baffle me. This is a gingery citrus bomb!. I defo don't get a "Gourmand " scent from this at all. Maybe my understanding of that word is different but to me gourmand scents are like Kilian black phantom, TF noir extreme, Bondno9 new haarlem, Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo etc...those are "Gourmand" scents to me and im sorry but intoxicated is farrrrrrr from that

Rjdee

This is possibly my favorite niche of all time. Comparing this to A men is like comparing a Honda to a Ferrari. Very sensual and sexy fragrance for a man that is serious, but who also knows how to have fun. Absolutely outstanding. Lasts forever and projection is very solid.

Scent it flying

Wow.. just wow. They picked the perfect name for this.

Only other thing I will say is to those not getting much longevity.. thats a bit bewildering.. i sprayed I squirt of this on my wrist yesterday arvo and even after scrubbing in the shower this moring I can still faintly smell it. I certainly understand that everyones skin is different etc etc but this stuff is definately not weak or something that fades within a couple of hours..

SmellsGreat33

I really do love it. I don't even know what my nose picks up as a scent profile...I couldn't even begin to tell you what cardamom is supposed to smell like, or nutmeg really. To me it smells inoffensive and uplifting. I wear this frequently in warmer months as change up from citrusy/aquatic fragrances. It can be worn year-round though.

8.7/10

mare_crisium

Very pleasant, fairly masculine fragrance. I get way more spice in this from the nutmeg, cinnamon and the cardamom than any real coffee, which is a shame. I was after something a little more café noir to be honest. Acceptable performance.

Emgamo

It truly smells like something intoxicating..
like when you fall in love for the first time.

This is a Cardamom Cinnamon bomb with hint of coffe & tobacco.
Imagine a spicier version of Armani attitude.
However i find this to be a scent for men. This is too masciline to be called unisex.

I love Layton - its my favourite perfume.. IF something could challange king Layton it would be Intoxicated!

Sillage 8/10
Longevity 8/10

I love this so much. I want to eat myself its so good. This fragrances makes me love myself and that is why it is in my top 3 (1 is aventus 17x01 and 2 is millisime imperial).

Corvettezr1

Love the scent , good longgivity, weak sillage , way overpriced

Parallax

Okay this is almost identical to A*Men. It’s a bit smoother, it’s got a cooler name, and it’s got a higher price, but that’s about it.

Rangel7

I've been wearing this on and off for a few weeks, trying to decide if I like it or not and the jury is still out.
My first impression is that it's kinda obnoxious? But who doesn't want to be obnoxious every now and then!
It smells sweet and spicy, but leaning a little masculine on my skin. I just can't decide if I want to smell like this...

c0rtland

smells really nice. clearer than Amen. A dense scent with unfortunate Creed-like performance.

Steph_S

I received this as a mistake. But OMG, what a wonderful mistake!!! I ordered a gift set and Intoxicated was included instead of another fragrance. The name truly fits because the scent is just as it says - intoxicating.

It does seem to lean more towards the masculine side, but that suits me just fine. I'll be wearing a scent that's more manly ..... it's that good.

Roozy85

This is truly intoxicating.
Delicious,dark,bold,
Biggest complaint is that it doesn't have that oomph or depth, you know, not complex enough, but, still great
2 hours in and a lady I knew said,if I could,I wanted to take a bite from you, because you smell so delicious.
Fuckin gorgeous.
I will try if few more times to give a more extensive review regarding performance.
Yummmmmm.

Whulum

I wished this worked for me because it smells fantastic.. But it dissapears so so quickly it is insane. 3 sprays of this goes away faster than 1 spray of 95% of all other perfumes that i have tried

Sannahnilsson

I get no coffee at all, on me It’s not warm or sweet either. All I get is a very green cardamom which sadly turns a bit sour on my skin. Warms up a tiny bit in the drydown but the sourness is still there, sadly! Really wanted to love it!

piyux

Kilian Intoxicated EDP opens with a moderate projection of sweet, soda-like, coffee, and spicy notes. The opening is aromatic, gourmand, tasty, and pleasant. The coffee, cardamom, and cinnamon are the most noticeable opening notes. The coffee in this fragrance is very particular, it is evocative of blond coffee, aromatic, mild, as opposed to the bold dark roasted note found in other fragrances. Not listed as an official note, the coffee is accompanied by a very sweet, dry fruits-like, an accord reminiscent of fruity soda. The cardamom is next, sweet, resinous, spicy, and slightly bitter; the cinnamon and nutmeg have more modest participation, both create a sweet, spicy hot and warm accord. The fragrance is completely linear, the lineup of the notes remains the same from opening to dry down. Once Kilian Intoxicated EDP has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, very sweet, coffee, cardamom, cinnamon, and nutmeg fragrance. The fragrance feels casual, common, delectable, delicate, diluted, fruity, inexpensive, inviting, mild, moderate-quality, modern, soda-like, sugary, sweet, unisex, warm, weak, young, and pleasant.

Balushi

A simple fragrance that combines sweet cardamom, caramelized bitter coffee, dusty nutmeg and warm cinnamon. There is a prominent sweetness which feels like caramel and it is very similar to the caramel note A*Men. It is like smelling your cup after drinking your Latte. While it is not identical to A*Men, it is undoubtedly similar but it is much simpler which is not necessarily a bad thing and the coffee note is more prominent.

Tiger84

First impression yesterday was a milder, spicier (with greenish spices) A*Men, for eight times the price, with a cola-ish drydown, so, considering how close it is to A*Men, nothing original. Today the cola smell is much more prominent, with cardamom and nutmeg, and less of the well-known A*Men, therefore more innovative. It will take a few more wears to get a complete picture.
I hoped to get coffee from this, but none so far.

Phigreco

This is a cardamom bomb. The opening is huge then it settles down and starts projecting strongly with other drier and darker notes of coffee, a little bit of cinnamon, and to my nose also some nuts that are typically used in the dough to make pastry. It reminds me of Christmas biscuits or buns. It is warm aromatic, slightly sweet, the projection is very good. I'll add how it perfoms later.

EDIT: 2h later it is a skin scent with hardly any projection at all. What a pitty I really loved both the opening and the drydown, even though it would not be a very versatile fragrance

JammyGit

It just smells like Lynx shower gel

Sam654

This is the first time I’ve been smitten by a fragrance from the first spray since Herod. Put only one spray my hand to try. Damn... I was just sitting in my chair and my wife could smell it 6 feet away 3 hours later. One. Spray.

jomarie_veloso

What really surprises me, is the fact no one mentioned 'Ginger' as a main ingredient in this perfume.
Intoxicated by Kilian smells peppery ginger, but not in a sharp way, rather in a warm and pleasant way.
The initial spray was kind of 'in the face', but after 6 minutes, the smell of it, actually dissipates.

Scent: 7/10
Longevity 4,5/10
Projection 2/10
Sillage 3/10

This is my first encounter with the perfume, so you can still follow up.

After 15 minutes I actually feel this perfume reminds me of 'Lolita Lempicka's Au Masculin.
Yeah, now I'm for 100% sure. It feels like Au Masculin, but a far weaker version of it...

Mr Tibbs

I’m pretty disappointed with this one. Kilian is my favourite house but this one is just not great.
The name is misleading, why do they call this Intoxicated?
Also the note list is misleading.
i expected a coffee forward fragrance, but i don’t get the coffee at all. It’s just a cardamom bomb.
The scent is okay but get’s cloying after an hour or two.

The performance is outstanding.
The fragrance is very strong, longevity and projection is insane.

Shame i don’t like it.
