Admission Requirements

International students are admitted on a rolling basis (year-round) according to space availability and the College’s acceptance of prior official high school records indicating achievement at a level which corresponds to that required of all students at the College.

Only applications with a GPA of “B” or above (3.0 on a four-point scale) for the past two years will be considered. Application documents will be accepted for grades 8 thru 11. All applicants must be fluent in the English language.

Specific admission requirements for eligible candidates:

Originally founded in 1860, ACS is an independent, highly selective, co-educational secondary school with a vibrant and growing IB Diploma program for international students. The college believes that a diverse student body enriches the educational experience for all. Currently, the ACS international program includes students from the United States, Bulgaria, Canada, Vietnam, Ukraine, the UK, Syria, Russia, France and other countries. The college welcomes applications from qualified students as this program continues to expand.

Students in the International Program are eligible to receive an American diploma as well as an International Baccalaureate Diploma upon graduation. 

The American College of Sofia integrates the values and best practices of American pedagogy with the rich educational traditions of Bulgaria and Europe.
