The female version of Dior homme sport 2021
Citrusy with some middle eastern vibes
I like it ✔️

Adrian1jones2

For me its very different from the original alien its an older version it has a more mature scent and a day scent for sure still prefer the original version as this one really doesn’t last that long like 3.5 hours max if im lucky its a stay close to skin smell projects well the very first 30 mins then its sort of gone skin close scent. Its bright citrusy but has a darkness to it imagine a pond in the middle of a forest you see a bright light and the sun is beaming but hints of the dark forest is around

Novalee_Marie

Alien Eau Extraordinaire is a light and pleasant scent, reminiscent of Alien eau de toilette but with a prominent tea note.
Instead of shelling out $$$ for a full bottle of this, I just layer my own Alien EDT with JLo Still for a very similar effect.

PhantomBelle

I got this when it first came out, I was so excited to see the cool bottles and try them all at the department stores. I ended up getting it of course, and I had fun with it for a while. It's super strong, this is the only beast-mode perfume besides flowerbomb that I've ever owned and will be the last, unfortunately. Beautiful design, but the juice is just too strong for me. And, the longer it sat, the more powerful it got. I learned my lesson.

She's just too powerful...

Purchased from Macy's or Nordstrom, can't quite remember.

AmieClay

I'm discovering that finding a perfume that doesn't have powder stank is like... trying to find a microwave meal that doesn't have onions. I hate onions, but everyone else loves them. I hate powder stank, but everyone else must adore it.

This started out as a very soft floral - I got no citrus, only flowers, and nothing special, nothing that caught my attention. The blandest of florals. But in minutes that was overpowered by powder stank and I died. Hate.

The only perfume I've tried so far that has more powder smell is Bvlgari Omnia Coral, which also killed me with stank.

Nocciola23

This is a refreshing citrus scent that is pleasant but not life changing. As an Alien flanker, it tends to be quite expensive, but I don't think it merits the price point.
The bergamot and tea is very zen, and its a nice scent. I'd wear it to the office or on a holiday but it's not a date night fragrance.

violetaura

On myself, it's beautiful, and I think it works really well with my chemistry, however on paper, this smelled like dirt to me! So try actually wearing it instead of just a paper test.
I tried this as an experiment, as a big Alien fan, to see if i could enjoy more citrus and green and pepper- which I tend to stay away from. The answer is yes. It's done very well here. It's delicious, inviting, more wearable than the original Alien, literally nothing offensive about it. And still sweet and slightly warm.

To me, it's like they took 30% Alien, 20% Aura and 50% Alien Goddess. That's what I make of this, and it's gorgeous. A good in-between for all those 3 fragrances which take a bit more commitment.
I would buy a full sized bottle if it were as cheap as my current summer go-to.

Edit: now that I've worn this a few times, i notice it leaves me craving Jimmy Choo Illicit. Then i did a weird experiement where I layered Illicit with Mugler Aura (EDT) and BAM! I've just made Alien Eau Extraordinaire <3 so there's something about them that's similar, but Jimmy choo is more amplified with the sweetness and less green.

arefuthescroob

It is pretty, has a nice and uplifting feeling to it.

AurelieGeuz

A very easy going and lighter take on the original alien.
I use this fragrance when I want a light and happy fragrance. Perfect for around the house or during the day during spring and summer.

TheDeleeShow

This is so beautiful and fresh smelling. I generally wear it during summer months, but also wear it if I’m sitting around the house after a shower, and know I’m just going to slipping into fresh sheets. It’s clean, but still has a nice warmth to it. I wear this with light makeup, and sun dresses or flowy pants & tops.

It says “Hi, I'm friendly and yet mysterious, familiar yet exotic, and can go with a beautiful gown or t-shirt and jeans.”

Charlottesumxs

I'm still new to the world of fragrance and figuring out what I like. For some reason I assumed I wouldn't enjoy citrusy scents, but after getting a sample spritzer of Alien Eau Extraordinaire I realise I need to let any preconceptions go and try a bit of everything! The citrus rings out crystal clear when I wear this and it's one of my favourite things about it. That said, there is literally nothing I don't love about it, except maybe that it's an EDT and doesn't have the longevity I'm searching for. I'm happy to respray in the afternoons though, it's such a joy to experience again through the spray and dry down.

Dora75

Love it so, so much! Feminine, fresh, flowers and delicate sweetness! My fave for summer!

mamijuana

Randomly layered Bois Doré over this on clothesss??? 😰🔥 now its a sultry summer night scent

queen of confrontation

This is probably my favourite "fresher" fragrance in my collection. It's an addictive floral, citrus, amber version of Alien. However I won't buy another bottle when I've finished this one as the performance is so lacking. Literally after an hour I can no longer smell it, even after over-spraying. It's heartbreaking!

HenrietteM

First sniff ;not impressed. Second sniff ; there she is. Third try ; ooooo'h!

I get non of the original Alien dna with the Extraordinaire.
This is how I remember them old school lipstick smelt like. Straight up makeup.
Very powdery. I find it intriguing.
The sillage is not the loudest. Within arm lengths the first hour. After that it sits closer to the skin.
Longevity is moderate, about 5 hours. Longer on clothes.
Strong like. Not a love -yet.
She's growing on me.

silverlocusts

Best Alien flanker, hands down. Lovely, rounded, sensual, and full of light. On me it is a fresh white floral touched with citrus and grounded by creamy musk and cashmeran. I feel so happy when I wear this and it always instantly uplifts me. Projection and longevity are insane as well. It is on my all-time favorites shelf for a reason and I will be gutted when there's no more left.

CoffeeLuva

Blind buy because I'm an Alien fan. I agree with others that this has a lighter finish than the original.
When I first sprayed it, I thought uh oh I made a mistake. However, now that it's about 30 minutes later, I really like it. I'll definitely wear this as a daytime fragrance. I probably won't buy another bottle though. The original is still the one that makes me swoon.

emilymonroe1

It's fantastic. This is a fresh, stripped-down version with plenty of green citrusy tea notes for effervescence, yet it's just as interesting while still keeping the unique Alien flavour. It's a lovely, circular composition. The sillage and longevity are outstanding. Soft, airy, feminine veil with its own personality and originality. This is incredible.

darlingnadine

I love the scent but it is weak and has no staying power. The dry down not as exciting as Alien and Angel. Very complex and well blended like all Mugler fragrances but way too light and stays close to the skin. Doesn't smell like the original Alien. More summery than the original Alien, although I personally wear the original year round.

AriaLennon

This is a lighter, more refined version with lots of green citrusy tea notes for effervescence, yet it's just as interesting as the original, retaining the distinct Alien flavour extremely well. It's a round, agreeable composition that doesn't lean sharp. The silage and lifespan are not quite as atomic as those of the original, but they are still outstanding.

Lindsconn

This is a fresh citrus version of Alien, one that’s more wearable in the day time and suitable for office wear. You can still smell the original Alien DNA somewhat but in a very toned down way, so if the original isn’t your thing there’s a chance you could enjoy this.

Projection and longevity are moderate, but if you don’t like the original with it’s beast mode you might enjoy this.

qofb

This is a citrus Alien, but a mellow and sour citrus, not a sunny one, there's a lot of bergamot but also neroli. It's slightly bitter. I sometimes get the tea, sometimes not. On the whole this is mild, there's little projection or sillage and it's really not that long lasting compared with the original Alien and that annoys me a little. I also don't really get much of the tropical florals here, but there is that original Alien DNA still. It dries down to ambery musk, but really it's a skin scent for a lot of its life.

I enjoyed my bottle, it was a nice twist, literally a twist, a citrus tea twist, but I wouldn't repurchase even if this were still available, it's not my favourite Alien. I love Mirage and the original more.

Miss.Tara

I wore this all day and was so excited to come back here to read how others experienced it.
But it seems I’m a little alone on this one.

At first I didn’t like it. It was warm yet had this almost metallic feel. I remember wondering what the notes were suppose to be because it was as if they were going for a futuristic metallic apricot? Plus amber or vanilla.
However! On clothes, this mellows out in about an hour to what I perceived as a blonde wood with a light floral that is so addicting! So not wood like a deep mahogany, or pencil shavings, but a smooth light wood. I think that might be the sandlewood and tea molecules though?
Also, I was so surprised others thought this weak. I may have to spray and walk through next time as the first hour or two was a little too strong for me with two sprays. And it’s very present still on hour 9!
I can’t wait to try this in Fall and Winter.

ntabassum92

I have so much of Alien Eau Extraordinaire and I am so happy about it. My friend and I found a really cheap refill bottle at TJMaxx and later I bought a partial bottle off of eBay so that I could fill it with my refill - so now I kind of have two mostly full bottles of this perfume. Which is perfect because I am an Alien fiend. This is definitely my springtime Alien. I have been wearing it a little the past few days but I feel it's a little too sweet for super hot summer - it goes on a bit strong and could choke you out. The tiare is super sweet and watery in here, with lovely fresh bergamot (not too sour) and sparkling green tea. Neroli is also sweet and happy. The Alien DNA is here, but lighter, brighter, and watery.

It's different from Sunessence, as that one is much sunnier and very lemony. That one is my summer Alien. I think the name and bottle of this fragrance, Eau Extraordinaire, suit it perfectly - it has that light golden shimmering feel, a veil of soft, sweet, tropical Alien and fresh green tea.

Mghen

Simply love it, fresh and easy to wear. Everyday signature scent worthy.

cookygirl

Hmm, not sure about this one.
It's not quite what I was expecting.
I don't really get the citrusy top notes or the tea.
On me it's a tropical floral along with quite a heavy dose of pepper.
The amber is strong too and smells almost salty on me.
I don't think it's suitable for the hot summer ahead of me here in the Middle East.
I think I may have to shelve this one till winter because it's reading much heavier and warmer than I had thought it would.
There's a good chance though that I'll appreciate it in cold weather, especially since I have a very hard time finding scents for winter that I like.

ETA- this is just a scrubber on me unfortunately, even in winter. There's a note in here that reminds me of the rubber gloves my grandmother used to don before she cleaned the house or did dishes.I am getting more citrus and tea now in winter but the pepper is still too dominant and whatever accord is creating the rubber gloves smell is overwhelming. So sad this didn't work for me. I'm suspecting, once again, the orange blossom, which is increasingly transpiring as my olfactory nemesis.

Rcates78

I am a huge Mugler fan and Angel has been my signature fragrance and a staple in my perfume cabinet for more than two decades. I love Alien as well (and Aura, and Womanity...I could go on), but for me, there is a (narrow) time and place for it's use; most often spring afternoons or cool summer evenings spent outside, IMHO. Alien is a total beast and a jasmine bomb and I rarely put it on when I'll be crammed in a venue in close proximity to a bunch of other folks or even in a small space with just one or two other people, it's that potent. But along came Eau Extraordinaire and if Alien is characterized by it's otherworldliness, Eau Extraordinaire is characterized by it's down-to-earthedness...or some other word that indicates that it's of the earth and comforting and accessible.

I love citrus top notes and Eau Extraordinaire begins with a hit of my favorite - bergamot. The orange, lime, and lemon come padding barefoot into the room next, with the creamy white florals (which I am unable to distinguish between...seriously....I can't tell the difference between neroli, jasmine, and orange blossom...they all smell the same to me) sauntering in lazily behind them. The tea note is readily distinguishable and has a spice to it and once the citrus settles and the base notes creep up, the whole experience is like sitting down at a patio table on a warm afternoon with a slice of lemon meringue pie and a glass of iced tea. It is so refreshing and comforting, I would wear Eau Extraordinaire anytime, anyplace, all day long.....and herein lies the trouble because I will HAVE to apply it all the time, every place, all day long because it is that fleeting. I applied 4 sprays this morning at 6:30 am and could only detect the base notes as a skin scent by 8:30am. It is such a bittersweet scenario to have found SUCH a lovely citrus floral tea scent only to have it melt into an unoriginal (though not unpleasant) creamy skin scent so quickly. Eau Extraordinaire, how I love thee! But why, oh WHY, don't you last longer!?!?!?! I suppose it's a good thing this one isn't being produced anymore, so my fleeting love affair with it can end the way all passionate ones do - abruptly and with me in search again for a longer-lasting love in possession of all the best qualities of the one just left behind.

Agnes81

I don’t get a lot of the tea and citrus everyone else is writing about. On my skin it is sweet, sunny, tropical flowers. Tiare, orange blossom and ylang ylang. It lasts more than 12 hours and feels quite linear.

sa3da

A delightful, fresh tea scent that is easy to wear. It's airy and close to the skin! I adore tea scents so this scent is really special to me. The only alien I like.

emi

Bought it partially blindly because I have owned it for very short period of time several years ago and I couldn't really remember how it smells. I am not dissapointed. It smells like fresh, citrusy and creamy white floral, mostly neroli. For me it is not very similar to the original but still holds its dna. Really pleasant, there is something familiar and cosy about it. The parameters are really decent although it's only edt.

KarolaFragrance

I ordered this one by mistake, I thought I was buying Alien EDT, but it was a nice accidental buy.

It is creamy, sunny and refreshing. The tea note gives it some calming qualities. Nice spring and summer option, elegant everyday scent with decent longevity and small projection.

Rober7a

YES, I've found it!!😁 A fresher, wearable Alien. The DNA is still very much there, but it's way brighter. It opens quite strongly with citrus, but that evaporates fast and I am left with what I can only describe as a summer version of Alien. 🌞👾 This is beautiful.

Sweetfemme

If you like to smell like a bright citrusy earl grey tea, look no further.

I love this fragrance and I’m surprised because I usually don’t like this type of scent profile.

It’s summery.
Fresh.
Floral
& Bright

It makes me want to put on a flowy white summery dress and run through a meadow in slow motion as I look back at the imaginary camera with my hair flowing in the wind 🤣

k3llfae

loosely researched blind buy like 99% of my purchases. I'm a little too intimidated by the original Alien; i'm not sure I'm up for the responsibility but this is lovely. I bought it with summer in mind but I had to put it on right out of the box because AEE smells exactly as I'd hoped. i get lots of tea (which was the note I reeaaally wanted) and lemon drop citrus, soft vs. sharp or tart, but still fresh.

from my own collection, reminds me a little of Canadian favourites Watier or Jewel, both of which took significant hits last summer so I suspect this one will join that rotation barring any rude surprises. de toilette so she doesn't linger but i might welcome that come the heatwaves.

i also got a sample of Le labo bergamote 22 around the same time and found a lil dash of that plays very well together.

starlightsteward

This seems like a totally different scent family than Alien, which comes at a slight disappointment to me. Normally I love sweet fragrances, but this falls pretty flat like a lemon candy without sourness, or like a bland tea that's over sweetened and served room temperature. I think its the ylang-ylang which can have a characteristic banana/custard quality that gives this effect, or even the heliotrope with its almondy staleness when paired with all that citrus. Will have to give this another try but this is the least interesting Mugler I own.

CeeTee

I’ve wanted this for years and finally got my hands on it yesterday. It feels like a summer morning, just out of the shower. You’re headed out to a picnic with a tall tumbler of lemony iced tea for the ride. You greet your friend with a joyful hug.

Fresh, sophisticated and airy. It’s structure is like Alien, but trade the jasmine for tiare. Remove the wood and add pepper (not the sneezy kind.). Now crush a lemon lollipop on top. It’s well blended and grown up. (But still youthful.) It’s an EDT, so don’t expect beast mode. That wouldn’t be fair. :-)

Safe blind buy, in my opinion. Easy reach. Easy to wear. I wish I had a purse spray so I could re-up during the day. Value and performance? Eh. If you have cash, do it. Not splurge worthy.

Update:
I love it. After a few months, the tea has really started to pop. It’s not like Alien, but it has the same structure/bones (if that makes sense!) I’ve tried spraying it on top of Alien and it’s divine. Please do not buy. I want every bottle for myself! Haha

Christinageor10

An amazing daytime fragrance. I love Alien and this very much has the Alien DNA, but with a more uplifting, fresh, and slightly lighter vibe. it opens with citrus and tea. I can smell the neroli as well. I get the jasmine and tiare in the mid notes and the same base as the OG. This is extremely likeable and mass appealing and I always get compliments when I wear this.

Not a safe blind buy unless you enjoy Alien and its base notes. Absolutely full bottle worthy with excellent longevity and projection. 8/10 🥰❤

ALIEN EAU EXTRAORDINAIRE

This is quite nice! It's more of a spring/early summer scent, I think. But whereas Original Alien is a huge dump of jasmine, the white flowers here are much more subtle. The citrus really comes forward in this flanker and makes, for me, an easier scent to wear. I just can't do big hits of jasmine, they don't work on me.

There's not a lot of sillage here. You'd have to practically bathe in it for anyone else to really catch the scent of it. But it is super pleasant. Would make for a nice gift.

Sweetlady 123

This is Alien on vacation 🏖️
I love that it's keeping the original Alien heart but with zesty twist. First blast of bergamot and tea is so refreshing, like sitting in the Italian garden full of citrus trees and drinking your morning tea while watching the sea. You already put the tanning oil on your skin ( the tiare flower/vanilla/Ylang Ylang combo) and you know that by the time you will get to the beach you will be surrounded by truly extraordinary aura.

Siennam9

I wasn’t too sure of this fragrance at first, I thought it smelled a little too mature for my liking. None the less, I decided to give it a shot and wear it out. At first spray you get a lot of the citrus which is not something I’m used to because I like warmer scents but as it wore through out the day a lot more of the vanilla started to show. The first time I wore it out I received a couple of compliments and now I get one every time I wear it. They always tell me I smell sweet like candy haha. I’ve only worn this in hot weather but I’m sure it will still be nice in the cold.

catysuewho

Found at TJ Maxx, 50$ for the 30ml size. This fragrance is very fresh, comforting, and lovely without being boring or generic. It opens with a tonnn of bergamot, tempered with the other citrus notes to keep it from straight up smelling like Earl Grey. Once it dries it's all full bodied white flowers, but the pepper and lingering citrus keep it from being overpowering. The drydown is what really grabs me about this fragrance, and where the original Alien DNA comes in. It's that almost syrupy sweet jasmine musk. It lingers and lingers, softly, the kind of perfume you can put on in the early evening and still smell the next morning. But not in an obnoxious way, in a lovely way like how the fragrance of a loved one would linger after they've left. I don't usually love citrus fragrances because I find they can often smell either generic or like a household cleaner, but this is neither.

perfumeshewrote

Alien Eau Extraordinaire opens with zesty citruses, bergamot, lemon, lime and orange, you can smell them all. There is also a floral and fresh touch from the neroli and green tea. The opening is a freshly squeezed citrus juice in a tiare garden.

Over time, the fragrance becomes denser and sweeter thanks to tiare flowers, orange blossom and the classics of Alien, amber and cashmeran. I also feel a slight heliotrope, in the distance, light.

Forget the heaviness of the original Alien, this one doesn't even have jasmine and woody notes. This is the furthest from the original Alien EDP and perhaps for this reason so light, fresh and loved by everyone.

singlehandedbeauty

Alien Eau Extraordinaire is a beautiful iced lemon tea scent with a whisper of Alien DNA. I love the original, but I can't quite pull it off. This gives me that Alien jasmine elegance, but in a much lighter, more wearable way, especially in the heat.

Today was an insanely hot and humid day and Alien Eau Extraordinaire wore like a dream. I kept getting wafts of it mixing with the muggy salted sea air and it made me fall in love. My skin projects a lot more sweetness than I expected, but the long-lasting tea note and gentle woods temper that sweetness preventing it from being cloying. Tiare flower and jasmine keep everything classy. This has become my favorite tea fragrance.

Longevity is average and sillage is closer to the skin than other versions of Alien, which is ideal in high heat. It's a shame this is being discontinued, so I will probably buy a refill or two. Loreal's purchase of Mugler is heartbreaking.

natasha28

Review is for my own reference - Pleasantly surprised by this fragrance as some Mulger perfumes can be polarizing. I think this is a safe perfume. It's nothing niche, but still good. The price is good for a Mulger perfume at $70 for 90ml on a discount site. However, there are probably other brands that do it for cheaper. It's a good crowd-pleaser perfume, in my opinion, a nice balance of spicy citrus and a little floral. Nothing offensive. I might actually keep this is gifted. I wouldn't buy it myself, bc it is a bit overpriced for what I like to pay for perfumes (still fair price though). I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard much about this perfume before. It's a good daytime perfume for any season, the citrus may make it more spring/summer leaning. It's fresh like D&G Light Blue, but not the same. It reminds me of a scent the brand Halloween would make.
The silage is a bit too soft; I think of Mulger perfumes as those boss-bitch perfumes that everyone can smell when you walk in the room, but to me, it sits close to the skin-to an arm's length.
Overall, it's a good fragrance that I really like, but I have some others I would buy before this, because the longevity is too weak. It kind of reminds me of YSL Libre EDT - fresh citrus tea

Based on my memory it is not a dupe for the original Alien Mugler

AlaskanAngel

I find myself currently wearing this a great deal because my 4-year-old niece loves it on me. "You smell so good, Tia." She finds many of my other fragrances "stinky" as in, they are too strong for her nose. This one she snuggles in to smell my neck;)

hannahlauren

This is such a beautiful fragrance!

This was a flanker that wasn't too excited about for some reason I thought I wouldn't like a citrusy Alien, although I do love tea fragrances.

I opted for Eau Sublime first, because I heard in comparison everyone likes Sublime more.

I'm in a collecting kick of Mugler fragrances, determined to own every one that's available for purchase right now, so Eau Extraordinaire was one of the last on my list.

Just got it, and I was so wrong!
It is gorgeous and citrusy, perfect for summer (another reason I knew I had to have it).
The opening is a blast of citrus, followed by the fresh and delectable tea note (I am totally in love with white tea in any fragrance, and that is what this smells like)

The dry down is mild, I get the typical Alien dna with a bit of vanilla, but it is a gorgeous warm floral scent.
The opening is my favorite, when everything is just singing and glorious!

I'm definitely happy to have this in my collection, sorry to see that it's discontinued!

SummerRose

I have a growing appreciation for Mugler fragrances as they are unique, well blended and they have good performance. They don't smell like anything else, they are not mass pleasing, you either love them or hate them. I think that is brave and it takes balls..

Anyway, when I first blind bought Alien Eau Extraordinaire, I was so disappointed. All I could smell when I sprayed it was the pepper note and it made me sneeze. I thought it was dreadful..... I was thinking I could never wear it. I decided to give it 4 chances and I would spray 1 spray on my skin, let it settle and then see what I think. The opening was always bad, though pepper listed as a middle note, I also got it in the top notes. The dry down however was good. By the 4th time I tried it, I no longer smelt the pepper at the top and I could then really appreciate the beauty of the fresh, citrus floral perfume. It is lovely for the summer and I love it. One of my favourite Mugler fragrances. I have 5. I still cannot yet get to grips with the Original Alien. I'm not quite there yet. But this is a good one to start with if you are new to Mugler fragrances.

Moral of the story - don't be too quick to quit, some times give the fragrance a chance to shine.

Kon-nos91

Another great discontinued perfume. What a surprice! Recently I only comment about discontinuations and the bad thing about it is that if you're used to good, you can't accept the average/'perfumed waters'. All quality and best blended perfumes are facing either a reformulation or...Anyways, the positive thing about it is that Thierry Mugler has many variations very similar to Eau Extraordinaire like Flora Futura.

First spray is like a pure citrus blast in a way I wouldn't even give it a chance on my skin. It reminded me a bit of the latest Light Blue by D&G release, named Forever EDP minus the fruity touch. After a few minutes you get also a fresh bitterness that must be green tea & pepper. As I said before, the blend is perfect, just give it some time to bloom. All notes are 'dancing' together and give their best 'moves'. Mostly the floral ones like ylang-ylang that you can hardly add to new releases. It's a bit of a vintage, classic and hard to deal with other notes. 'White' amber, cashmeran but mostly musk & sandalwood shine non stop in it's soft woody base. I know it might sound weird, maybe because of the connection my nose has with my mother's signature (D&G Light Blue EDT), but this perfume is a 'mommy' type of one. Classy, present in the room without being demanding, fresh, classy and easy. If you're a fan of citruses, don't miss the chance to try it, if you find it of course...

HyacinthBucket

Bright and bubbly bergamot seltzer with sparkling lemon and orange blossom.

This one's for the citrus lovers. Dazzling with beautiful white florals. A hint of amber gives depth.

DO NOT OVERSPRAY. One spritz will last for days. Sillage for miles. You only need a little.

This is very similar to alien, I wasn’t expecting it to be SO similar but I love alien so it was not a disappointment at all.. this scent is absolutely beautiful it’s not as deep, but the mysterious sexiness that the original alien brings in my opinion is still in this one. It’s perfect for summer I still think alien EDP can be worn in summer but this one would probably be more appropriate

fleader

This is lovely, plus cheap to buy online right now. I am not normally a citrus person, but I am a big Tiare person, so I have ended up loving this. Mood-wise it's like a more sophisticated and tropical Clinique Happy. The tea note keeps the citrus from being too sharp. And there's a mild powderiness that blunts the citrus as well.

dienle13

Effervescent serenity.

Eau Extraordinaire has all of Alien's fluid grace and charm without its mystique, depth or killer potency.

Bright, joyful, fleeting.

AlaskanAngel

My first Mugler, this is a lovely fragrance. Fresh opening is very bright and quicky settles into a smooth amber-wood with light jasmine and white musk keeping it more clean than heavy. Dry down is a perfect, soft unisex in hot weather for all ages while the opening seems young with the sweetness and fruit. I appreciate that the fruitiness fades fast as I enjoy it more in the base notes.

Kikichaaan

A beautiful brighter sister of the original Alien. I love that citrusy, tea, and light floral scents but sadly I have to spray quite a lot just to make someone notice that I wear this beautiful perfume. If you like Alien but want some citrusy freshness to it, you can try this one because it still has that noticeable DNA of Alien in the dry down phase.

Aaaaah, If only they have the EDP version that works better than this one and give some twist to it, I think a lot of people will love this even more. Will I repurchase this? Yes, even though the lasting power and projection is just average.

Lalouve<3

I love angel muse edt, but this one is just 'meh'....* unoriginal, unnoticeable, flat, boring... not bad or a dislike, just...indifferent... *had this not been a blind buy, I wouldn't have bought it...pass!

Murmur123123

I love the original Alien, and was very happy to find this one on Amazon given that it has been discontinued. I absolutely love the opening, which retains the Alien DNA but has such a refreshing citrus scent. However like other reviewers mentioned, this has such poor lasting power and projection it is so disappointing. I am normally not an over sprayer, but with this one I used 6 sprays in the morning, topped up with another 4 sprays in 1 hour before leaving the house (because I could not smell it well by then), and after 2 hours outside I could not smell anything on myself, not even when I pressed my nose on where I sprayed it on my arm.

rainydays

I am IN LOVE. For years I have debated purchasing the original Alien. It's beautiful, elegant, mysterious-- but it was always just a but too much for me. I knew I'd rarely reach for it. Eau Extraordinaire has similar DNA but is just a bit fresher, brighter, and lays closer to the skin. It's everything I wanted Alien to be!
P.s. I heard this is one of the flankers that is being discontinued, such a shame.

Anamandy

This is fast becoming my favorite Alien flanker for warm weather. I thought Eau Sublime was my favorite, but there is just something about this one, that little extra zip from the black pepper, that makes me love this more. I get a strong tropical vibe from this scent, even though the only tropical note listed is tiare. It has a sunny, airy, and slightly exotic feel. The only downside is I wish the scent was more prominent. I can smell it around me, but it is very light, no matter how heavily I spray. Still worth it for me to have especially on days when I need a little pick me up. I spritze on this and suddenly I'm transported to a beach in paradise. This also works fantastic with coconut scents. I layered this on top of D&G Only One Intense and it smelled like it could have been a flanker from Tom Ford's Soleil line. I bet it would work great with other scents too as there are a lot of elements here that seem perfect for layering. Overall, I'm very happy with this vacation in a bottle. Though I won't buy a back-up bottle now, I will replace when this bottle is finished. I just hope it won't be hard to find then.

Rivercat

I adore the citrus and tea blend of the opening, but after that it's the typical Alien white amber floral (though much more subdued than the original). There are occasional whiffs of a soft, warm wood, but the floral keeps smacking it back down again. Just confirms for me that Alien is a nice scent, but for other people.

temporal

It is citrus and white flowers, sunny and shiny. Nice but so common. I have sniffed similar fragrances through all my life: you meet this kind of composition everywhere. It is everyday fragrance, which tells no story. Disappointed.

AnnaElli

Fresh, very well blended citrusy white floral. Citrus and white florals work very nice together, none of them is overpowering or too loud, on contrary they compliment each other. You can still smell the Alien DNA but with a lighter, softer, kind of refreshing twist to it. I prefer it this way tbh. Not powdery in the drydown, which I am happy about. Definitely worth trying.

ghkim

This starts out with citrus but it's not your typical citrus freshie. There is a veil of tea, and then it quickly turns into a floral amber that resembles the OG Alien but in a much softer, more well blended way. There is musk as well but I don't get too much sandalwood. It is not very sweet. For me Alien has a very synthetic, plasticky vibe, but this one is much less so. It resembles a men's cologne. I like it better than the OG Alien but it's still just OK. It does not project, so I would reserve it for summer.

RottigrlNYC

I regretfully blind bought a 3oz refill of this perfume for $45. And I figured since I love Alien and Angel and this one is supposed to have bergamot and all the notes I love to see in a perfume, that I would love it as well. But no. It’s ok it’s very VERY lite. Similar to thousands of cheap designer perfumes that are out there. After about 10 or so sprays, I can barely smell it. Granted it is an edt so I should have known it would be a lite scent. But this is ridiculous. It’s too lite. I do faintly detect the Alien dna, barely. After about 20mins the base notes show up and the amber is here for about another half hour but I have to put my nose right on my arm to even smell it. Then an hour later it’s all gone. What a waste of money. This is the 5th Mugler flanker I bought over the past few years and all have really disappointed me . I love Angel( original not reformulated weak crap) and Alien(original not reformulated weak crap) and thats it. Every flanker has been boring, basic and same floral citrus or floral fruity crap as all the others are putting out. I am done with buying anything from Mugler anymore. Ever since he sold out, everything has been reformulated to death. I bought a small 1oz purse size of Alien coz it was so cute but I was disgusted at how weak it was. I guess Mugler doesn’t care that his perfumes have been ruined. He took the money and ran and said “thank u suckers” meaning us, the consumers. I still have a bottle of Angel from 1998 and a bottle of Alien from 2007 and when they’re used up, I’m not repurchasing. I’m not listening to any more Angel or Alien flanker reviews, they always exaggerate.

lzak

Lovely summertime Alien. Dosen’t last too bad long, so carry a decant, but it’s sparkling like chsmpagne, lovely and being discontinued, so grab it while you can.
Definitely get the citrus but it dosen’t smell like cleaner or furniture polish like Light Blue.
It’s a 2-3 hour scent but so lovely.

scarlett.angel

Sadly heard this one also got discontinued :( so I'm wearing the hell out of it, even though it's winter here and this was my "summertime Alien", there are some days where I still crave something light and with the original Alien DNA. It just makes you smell all sparkly like champagne.

heatherrose

This fragrance really is something quite unique and lovely - It's fizzy (like the smell of a carbonated water), citrusy, floral, and light. I'd say if you like Alien but and are looking for an airy, light, spring/summer/daytime appropriate version, than I would highly suggest you try Alien Eau Extraordinare

alliesunshine

I belong to the category of people who love Alien’s scent but find the perfume too heavy and headache inducing to wear. (One spray and my head is ringing). For me, based on that, I was really excited to try a ‘dialled down’ version of alien in hopes that I could wear it. Eau Extraordinare is exactly that! It’s Alien’s DNA but lighter and fresher because of the citrus and tea notes. The initial experience is fresh and bright while the dry down is a lot warmer, however all of this is happening around the unmistakeable DNA of the original Alien. While this may not be as much of a beast as the original, I find the performance of this EDT quite impressive when I compare it to your standard perfume. We all know alien isn’t standard so comparing to that, one may be disappointed in performance. To me, I enjoy this version better in part because I can actually wear it but also because of the light airy freshness that’s added to an otherwise heavier scent. Cheers!

I just received an email from L’Oreal for an inquiry I made a couple of weeks ago. They confirmed that the following are discontinued:

Alien Eau Extraordinaire
Alien Eau Sublime
Alien Flora Futura

The following are still in their portfolio:

Aura EDP
Aura EDT
Aura Sensuelle
Alien EDP
Alien Fusion.

Hope this helps! It’s a real shame that they discontinued those 3, I really enjoyed them, but at least the rest are safe for now.

HalimaOfLondon

After reading the reviews below I'm uncertain about whether I have purchased a genuine bottle. As a fan of Alien (like many on Fragrantica) and a Dan of both citrusy and white floral nktesy, I made a blind-buy.
The citrus is definitely there and is reminiscent of DKNY Women EDT. The tea and amber is also present. I was looking forward to the tiare notes, unfortunately this fragrance does not last for very long and is almost untraceable for me after 3 hours.
It's a safe work scent.

jovejove

List of Mugler fragrances L’Oréal just discontinued;

Eau Extraordinaire
Flora Futura
Alien Fusion
Alien EDT
Alien Man
Alien Mirage
Alien Essence Absolue
A*Men Ultimate
Aura Eau Sensuelle
Angel Eau Sucrée
Angel Étoile de Rêve

The list is a bit longer, but I can’t remember. They’re gutting the line.

Manya3

Sweet Jesus this has the sillage of an atomic bomb! I put the blotter in my cloth bag and put it next to my cardigan on the car seat - I had to roll down the window because it took up all of the air in the car and smothered the two other perfumes I had tested on my wrists (Sisley and another Mugler, so not wallflowers).
Unfortunately I lost the blotter so a retest is needed but my cardigan still stubbornly smells of sweet jasmine tea - the perfume ate through the cloth bag and sank its teeth into a piece of clothing it wasn't even touching! This Alien has the determination and bulldozer power of an exomorph I tell you...

Update: tested on skin on a different day with Aura on the other wrist (they could not be more different).
Eau Extraordinaire stayed a polite refreshing scent, turned a tiny bit metallic and sank completely into my skin after an hour. I could still smell it around me though! It lives separated from its wearer, interesting experiment for me as I've never encountered a perfume with such a whimsical behaviour. I can see how it would be perfect for warm summer days but I wear perfume for myself, not for others, and this one has to be chased around to be smelled, the pretty weirdo!

jamir6789

Very fresh, tea, floral & citrus. With a little spice. Definitely suited for spring/ summer!

lavender_and_teal013

I do get a bit of citrus in the opening with the lime, as well as some sweetness, freshness, and a bit of floral. I don't really get the spiciness. Something about this seems oddly familiar but I can't quite place it. It's lovely on warmer days. I am grateful that the citrus is not overwhelming or too sharp. I don't like citrusy fragrances like Light Blue or Chance eau Fraiche because the citrus is too loud and/or reminiscent of lemon pledge.
I have a small 5mL decant of this that I will continue to wear. If my feelings on this fragrance change, I will update my review. However, as of now I would recommend it to those seeking a lighter, not too citrusy, but fresh fragrance for the warmer seasons. Alien Eau Extraordinaire does not remind me of the original Alien at all, but I do enjoy both.
Update: Performance of this is not great. Little to no projection, longevity ~6 hours at best on clothes. Not worth a purchase.

RRHouse

The opening is citrusy with the bergamot and lemon/lime with the Neroli adding a lovely honeyish-orange sweetness, there is also a bit of peppery spice. The tea is keeping it green and fresh; it’s appealing. After 15 min, I get more pepper and green tea. I’m staring to question if I like the amount of pepper that is in this. After about an hour I get heliotrope adding its powdery note and the Tiare flower adds its spring/summery tropical vibe, at the same time the citrus and pepper dials down some. It just got sweeter, and softened a bit, a light vanilla smoothed things out, and amber, subtle sandalwood and musk added some depth. This is an interesting, complex, feminine, fragrance for for the daytime in the spring or summer; its not your typical fruit cocktail, suntan lotion dupe, or super citrus bomb. It's likable, and I would wear this to the office. I can’t see someone from 17-25yo wearing this; I think it may read too sophisticated for that youthful age range. It’s a solid performer. It’s 12 hours after application, I just checked my arm and shoulder, I can still smell this. This one is a keeper for me.
Rating: 7/10.
Projection: 4/10; Silage: 5/10; Application: 5 atomizations; Performance: 7/10. I did not test this in summer; I will revisit this when it is warm out.
Gender: Female; 25+yo.
Blind-Buy: No, test first.

enikodoring

This is the softer, more elegant and complex version of the OG Alien. While I do love the Alien DNA, the best way I could describe the difference between the OG Alien and this one is as follows:

While Alien Eau Extraordinaire feels like a gold satin sheet wrapping you up in a soft embrace, the OG Alien is as if you were smacked in the face with a brick that is covered in silk :)

wquila

If OG Mugler Alien and D&G Light Blue/Chanel Chance eau Fraiche had a baby this is how it smells like. I hate citrus/lemon notes in perfumes so i’ll skip this flanker.

Tolkashutka

If the citrus from Light Blue had a baby with the pepper grinder that is OG Miu Miu, this would be their kid. I think Miu Miu has a citrus flanker (Twist?), but I haven't had a chance to try it yet.

I like it. It's got a pretty impressive performance/longevity for an EDT. My little 6 mL sample (that I did not order, but was delighted to receive anyway) says that it's from "Thierry Mugler" on the box as opposed to just "Mugler", so I'm curious if this is pre-reformulation. If so, I wonder if the reformulation of the flankers is as drastic as the original Alien? Only one way to find out...

I've been going a little overboard with Mugler's winter sale lately, but this is not part of it. I'll wait until later in the year if/when it goes on sale, and sparingly use my generous sample in the meantime.

natfran98

This starts out as a really fresh citrus and tea scent with noticeable lime. Middle phase the neroli comes out to balance with the tea and fortunately it’s a neroli I can get behind (I normally can’t stand it). I think it works because the tiare flower compliments it so well and stops it being so overpowering. The tiare flower adds that smooth, creamy tropical quality. Then deeper into the dry down (~3/4 hours) the neroli and tea are largely gone and we have a vanilla, peppery ylang-ylang scent with woods.
It begins as a refreshing, zesty and sweet-green fragrance that very cleverly balances on the line between light and cloying; it’s delicate but makes its presence known. Then gradually softens and warms up to a comforting skin scent. It’s not one I was expecting to like but I’m enjoying using my sample to spray on my arm for the occasional comforting smell.

Forbiddenjade

So, I wanted to find a lovely tea fragrance and upon reading ingredients and reviews decided to give this one a go, though I never liked Alien.
The opening was glorious, tea/citrus galore with a lovely floral back bone. I thought to myself "wow, this is going to work for me!" and decided after first, light application some two hours before (1 spray per wrist, from far), to indulge a bit more. I gave another spray per arm, happily sniffing away.

But. BUT. What happened next shocked me and made me sick. After some couple more hours, a sickly sweet note began to rise, very strong, overpowering everything else. It was so strong that made my stomach churn.
I could not believe this, and yet this note had nothing of the lovely, fresh and uplifting tea/citrus/flowery vibe of before. All those nice notes vanished, and that one roared like an angry tiger, its bite never letting go of me. Gosh, I hated it!

I made some investigation to understand what was going on because I was truly dumb struck. I discovered that almost all Mugler's perfumes contain cashmeran. This is a synthetic note, for in nature no bush, tree, wood or anything else produces it. It is created in lab, it's a fantasy ingredient - this is how it's called in the industry - a bit musky, spicy, powdery and it does not wash off well.
It is for this very reason used in fabric conditioners (!) due its property to "cling" to "expand" floral notes. Holy cow! That's exactly the sickly sweet note that made me feel queasy and would not wash off my wrists or arms.
I kid you not, after 6 days and few washes I can still smell it - though much fainter - there where I sprayed it.
The same shocking reaction I had with Wonder Bouquet of Mugler, a perfume which I adore.... when sprayed in the air. The first time I wore it on, it gave me the same violent, sickening reaction and I found out that most of Mugler's fragrances contain cashmeran, which is actually the infamous DNA many talk about: a syntethic note though!
Not very extraordinary, rather nauseating.

Alas, I would have loved this and possibly Alien too if it wasn't for this cashemran note, but I must be sensitive to it because it truly makes me sick and prevents me from ever wearing any Mugler scent which contains it. That makes it all of them or so.... thank God it is not contained in Angel, which I wore for over 20 years with no such issue!

Sadly, this is the biggest no for me - to anything which "clings" to the skin with this power and aggressiveness. I did not like the experience and will never buy again any perfume containing cashmeran notes!!

hanbanana

Gorgeous perfume! I'm allergic to the original Alien and a few of its flankers but thankfully not this one. It starts off with bright, sparkling lemon and lime (which, yes, is somewhat reminiscent of Sprite but who doesn't like a cold glass of Sprite on a hot day? 😂), quickly followed by delicate tropical tiare and a very restrained orange blossom, eventually settling into a soft, musky, vanillic sandalwood. It's much more of a crowd-pleaser and less unique than the other Mugler fragrances I've tried so it's definitely work-safe, but still sets itself apart from anything else I own. I'm happy to have finally stumbled across a floral that I can actually see myself wearing, especially in spring and summer. Such a shame it's been discontinued!
Sillage and longevity are modest, as to be expected of an EDT.

bleu_canard

18/01/2021 update: I contacted Mugler France and they confirmed that Alien Eau Extraordinaire has been discontinued.

In France, it's sold out almost everywhere, is it discontinued?

sakura28

I love this brighter, lighter, citrus version of alien. It still has that Alien DNA in the base so it does stay true to the original. But is perfect for hotter weather months and day time. It's lovely and easier to wear on the daily/for work year round, compared to the original alien. It's very pretty and the bottle is so beautiful and classy looking. I highly recommend.

Corvus Corone

Iced tea with lemon on a sunny day. Bright and refreshing, lots of people say lemon lime soda and I get that but the tea note comes stronger on me. And because Mugler is such a genius weirdo even if this wasn't named "Alien" I would still get the sense from this otherwise uplifting fragrance that beyond the glass table where the pitcher of iced tea sits, past the manicured lawn where the smiling people are sunning themselves, just beyond the white picket fence where the vines of jasmine bloom....stands a creature from somewhere else.

svetbright

This is a refreshing tea fragrance with a hint of a Tiare flower. It blooms standing in the sun. This perfume performs best outdoors in the heat. I love how refreshing it is but it doesn't last. I don't mind because the scent is incredible and perfect for summer time.

Amnaa

Very pleasant and uplifting, slightly spicy. What I don't like so much tho is some strange fungal note I get after drydown. Not sure where that's coming from.

The box is scented too and I absolutely adore how woody and radiant that is! No mushroom there, haha!

Miasha

I bought this a couple of weeks ago, when it was on sale for half the price at a little perfume shop in my town. I was a little curious, as I had never tried the original Alien and have no idea what it smells like. I tried this on my wrist, and then I walked around for about an hour or so.
At first I had thought that it was too sharp and that I didn’t like it that much, but after a while it softened and I decided that I liked it, so I went back and bought it.
It is surely a nice addition to my perfume collection; a little different than anything else I own. It is still somewhat sharp, but in a nice way - not headache inducing or too much. And it is very fruity, I think. The only fragrance I have that may be equally fruity I guess, is Dolce &Gabbana Light Blue. But that one is also crispier and more a typical summer scent for me. This one is good for summer I think, but for me even for autumn/fall. Maybe there is a kind of tropical feeling to it as well, or is that my scented candle I’m burning right now?? 🧐
Or maybe both...
Anyway, this fragrance gets a ”like” from me. Not a ”love”, since I am glad to have it, but I will not repurchase. It will be lovely for as long as it lasts, but then I can be just as happy with something else.
(I now think of Versace Vercense, which I have a small sample of, as one having a similar fruitiness to it. But it is softer than this. Since I love all things Versace, maybe I’ll go for that one next time.)

P.S.: I see now that they say this is powdery!! But with that I have to totally disagree. I sense no powder what so ever..!

Jeresa545

This was a blind buy based on the fact that I adore the original Alien; I received it two days ago and have been wearing it ever since. This perfume literally smells like someone spilled a fresh can of sprite, then decided to spray Alien all over it. Now this isn't a bad thing because I actually love the scent! I'm a little disappointed that it smells so much like the original Alien as I was hoping for something more different, but in terms of being a like or a dislike it's a solid like :)
As mentioned it smells mostly like the original, but I am getting bursts of lime and bergamot which gives the fizzy 'sprite' scent. It's a lighter version which will perfect for summer. There is currently a very cold snap in our country so I'm not sure if that will affect the scent/longevity, so I'm super keen to try it in summer.
The only negative is that the longevity is not great on me! OG Alien is a powerhouse that lasts from morning until evening, whereas Extraordinaire only lasts about an hour before becoming a soft skin scent. I'm hoping that warmer weather will make it stronger and longer.
Overall this was a fantastic blind buy, I wouldn't repurchase but I will happily use every last drop of this :)

Samanthajc1

I had to add a second review! After wearing this all day and falling asleep for a bit I’ve come to the conclusion that this is one of my new favorites! As I was falling asleep I kept getting refreshing wifts of bergamot and lime but it’s very sweet! I love love love this fragrance! I went right on the site and bought a refill bottle!
If you’re testing this in the store make sure you spray it a few times because he won’t get the full effect if it’s a blind by you won’t regret it! Wow!

Samanthajc1

I read a lot of reviews dad said they smelled like flat sprite. I don’t get that at all. This fragrance is really classy and beautiful. It’s a very citrusy the Bergamot and lime stand out along with the flowery notes but in a good way. I can smell a little Amber, vanilla, pepper, cashmere And a few other notes but citrusy floral are the main notes I actually like this a lot more than alien and I think it’s different enough to have it so name it doesn’t remind me of a slinky which is a good thing I do hope they come out with a parfum version. It stays a lot longer if you overspray or you can just leave it as a light fragrance which is actually the whole point.I got my bottle monogrammed with my name as I do with most of my mud bottles in this bottle is absolutely gorgeous it isn’t one of the prettiest bottles I have I absolutely love it!

arapp95

LOVE this one. Bright citrus on the opening and a hint of Alien DNA in the drydown with a pretty good amount of musk. This is my perfect summer signature scent. The longevity is not fabulous, it lasts a couple of hours and the projection is only strong right at the beginning. It becomes a skin scent pretty quickly. I made myself a 10ml decant in an atomizer so I can carry it around with me and refresh the scent because I just love it so much. I also have Sublime and LOVE it as well but it's a bit louder and definitely more true to the original Alien DNA but is also appropriate for daytime. I work in healthcare and I have to be careful with the strength of my perfumes so I don't mind something with a soft projection for everyday, hence why I reach for Eau Extraordinaire more often. I have SEVERAL backup bottles of this perfume and can't wait to continue wearing it.

(I have a longer review for Sublime on that fragrance's specific page if you're interested)

Julygenie

I have eau extraordinaire and eau sublime. Between the two, I much prefer the eau sublime. While they are nearly identical initially, there is a muskiness in the dry down of the eau extraordinaire that I don't enjoy. It also doesn't last as long as the eau sublime. If you're looking for a fresh Alien that remains bright for the duration, go for the latter.

ItsAlwaysSunny

Every time I wear this fragrance I love it even more. I only tried this once before I purchased it online. In almost every perfume I find they is a note that just doesn’t suit me right - this perfume is not like it. there’s nothing I’d change about it. I have only tried the original Alien once and it was too powerful on me. I can’t say if this keep similar or not. But I love it. I get mostly the tiare flower and the tea and a very faint vanilla and bergamot. This is not a citrus Perfume. This is a floral perfume that has a little bit of citrus in it to brighten it up. The vanilla is done just right. It’s there but it’s subtle. Again the tiare flower is the star of the show and the vanilla is a beautiful supporting character.

Bwiller

This is beautiful for Summer but man do you have to overspray & re-apply. I'm a stay at home mom so I can but I wish it lasted longer for sure!

Jadelovesperfume

I love this fragrance for summer its like a light iced green tea. Unfortunately I need at least 5 sprays for moderate performance and a touch up. Its longer lasting on clothing probably because I wore the same jacket wearing this multiple days in a row.

aldinatic

I like that its strong and therefore great for winter but can't handle the note mixture. It has the original alien DNA, which I like too.

melialyn

I like this, I've worn it several times now. It's fizzy and sparkling, slightly sweet green citrusy..it reminds me of sprite as well. Buuuut... Lately when it dries down it's got a bit of a flat sprite scent..you know how flat sprite gets a slightly thicker and sweeter scent. Loses a bit of the sparkle for me.

Very pretty but I don't think enough for a full bottle. I have Versace Versense and I like that too..but it has a slightly bitter dry and veers a bit more unisex. I'm looking for something in the middle. The search continues. Lol

ylva

THE Alien for me. The original is waaaaayyy too heavy for me. This has a nice fresh soft scent to it. Long lasting. My favorite of the flankers. Still smell the original alien in it. Masterpiece.

agj

Absolutely ADORE this perfume. Alien has been a signature of mine for the last six years and alien extraordinaire quickly replaced this about two years ago. It has a slight reminiscent of the original alien perfume however with an addicting citrus notes added into it. With the initial spray it instantly transports me to a hot country, sipping cocktails eating delicious foods. I have bought two back up bottles since I found out about L'Oreal buying the mugler brand and I did not want them to ruin this beautiful fragrance. Would recommend this if you love the original alien or if you love a light citrus summery fragrance to add to your collection.

bombekmateya

This is OMG! Wow! Soooooo beautiful, pleasant, unique, just ahhh wow.

codymarieb

This fragrance has the original Alien DNA especially in the dry down, but it's a fresher, zestier summer time day version.

I do enjoy it, simply because I have been gravitating more toward fresher fragrances lately but nothing beats the original Alien.

If this was your daytime scent, Alien EDP is your evening scent, and I think you could layer the two quite nicely.

I love it because I love Alien.

ridgel

Diet alien. Slightly citrus fruity, tropical fresh watered down alien. I love the original and this is a nice version for the warm days.

Rosemary14

This is like a lightly peppery bergamot tea in the opening. There is the floral there and the Alien DNA and also the pepper. I want more floral and richer notes in the opening. Then when it dries down you do get more of those notes. The rich amber comes out, the cashmere, the tiara flower, vanilla, sandalwood, and musk come out but they are forming a bit of creaminess all together. I wish those floral and base notes were even stronger than they are. I guess floral and base notes are my favorite notes so maybe that’s just me. But, this is nice it’s refreshing, it’s complex, it’s well thought out, it’s interesting. There is that Alien Amber DNA in the dry down but it’s not loud like in the original. In many ways I like this more than the original. It’s more wearable.

Apiaceae

Not bad! Cannot wait to wear it in summer. It is not putting on a show, but its well appreciated for the subtle and interesting take on a summer Alien. I don't like the original, but this one I love. I mostly get a soapy sweet citrus mixed with white florals. A tiny bit of sweetness appears from the background, but without changing it into a sweet perfume. I wore it to sleep also, very cosy. Worth a go even if it's not the best performer in terms of longevity.

Calinare

An Alien flanker I've never tested until today. Disappeared on my skin in less than two hours or so and barely smell anything other than skin scent of Sweet Bergamot and White Flowers. Less overpowering Mugler. A tamed cat.

seagreentangerine

In February 2019, I took an extraordinarily cheap last minute flight to the island of Lanzarote. It was so cheap, it was cheaper than a bottle of perfume.

Feeling pleased with myself, I read the in-flight beauty magazine and BOOM, this perfume was staring me in the face. "Sparkling, Neroli, Tiare... Sounds like a holiday fragrance, mmm tiare, Bronze Goddess ish? I'll have that please!".

Well... I sprayed it before leaving the plane because I couldn't wait to try it, I loved it instantly, there's something in it that I've smelt before, was it Hermes Jour...hint of Lubin's Eau Neauve... a bit of in Love Again..? Hell, I think I even smell Givenchy Eaudemoisselle in there too... IT'S EUPHORIC IN THE OPENING! Like the feeling of excitement and young love in a hot country... Like a race track before the beat drops... Yeah, it's all those BUT..... BUT... it just stops. It like comes to a grinding halt. All you want is the first 15 minutes to keep repeating or dry down together, but no, it just departs, like a one night stand, like an Alien going home, leaving you unfulfilled and respraying like a crazed drug addict. What's left is less than the smell of washing powder, even Ariel lasts longer.

I'd save your money and buy something like Hermes Jour Absolut, Loewe's Coral or even Lancome's D'Azure, Bronze Goddess etc. - sort of the same vibe but won't leave you lonely in the sunshine after its had its way with you! Ooo I even think the Caron Eau Fraiche would be better too.

Vanian

This is an amazing addition to the Alien line. I like the original Alien, however not on my skin. The one I absolutely adored was Alien Luminescent (which was unfortunately discontinued)followed by this one and Alien Fusion. So, what's the description of Alien Extraordinaire - well, it is simply extraordinary. As many of the reviewers below points it start citrus-y, it has Alien DNA, on my skin the jasmine is very well presented. I find it suitable all year round, for instance I wear it today (Dec 21st) and it is performing beautifully in this winter, but not too cold day. In fact it brings me some brightness as a feeling as it is too cloudy and dark outside.

Dan27

love this so much! i cant stand the original alien as it is too much for me. this one still has the alien DNA but not headache inducing. it fresh, light, sparkling and slightly sweet. alien eau extraordinaire is like alien little sister. if alien is a sexy mysterious lady in little black dress, red lips and killer legs wearing high heels, alien extraordinaire is a girl in floral pleated skirt and white shirt. if you cant stand alien, get her little sister instead ;)

velvetflowers

Smells like a fresh, dewy bouquet of white flowers! A beautiful, perfect blend of citrus, white floral, and green—accords that I normally do not care for, but the Angel Eau Extraordinaire is gorgeous and definitely a keeper.

This manages to smell both innocent and sexy. It's a very versatile perfume. I like this very much! I'd give it a "Love" if I actually liked the accords. Bergamot is the most prominent note accompanied by white flowers (mainly neroli, I think). Ach. Simply so beautiful and elegant.

As with most Mugler fragrances, this is quite strong in terms of sillage so spray with caution. Lasts forever on the skin as well. More than 8 hours of wear.

Canadiangrrl

This is so beautiful and fresh smelling. I generally wear it during summer months, but also wear it if I’m sitting around the house after a shower, and know I’m just going to slipping into fresh sheets. It’s clean, but still has a nice warmth to it. I wear this with light makeup, and sun dresses or flowy pants & tops.

katgirl76

After trying the original Alien, which was def not for me, I was leery of this flanker. It's okay, but nothing to write home about. The citrusy start is quite nice, but the rest is just boring to me. I don't think that I am destined to be a Mugler fan. Nothing I've tried so far is "fabulous" for me.

joanne.healey

My favourite of the alien spinoffs. A summery lighter version of alien with a nice burst of neroli.

pipergirl

Wow, I was not expecting to like this at all because I really do not care for the original Alien (cartoon weird) or Alien Absolue (cloying) - just bad on my skin. The only reason I even (reluctantly) tried Extraodinaire is because I got a free sample with my purchase of Aura. What a stroke of luck that has turned out to be! That cold grapiness of the original version has been toned down and tweaked and elevated into something that is just really pretty and very wearable to me. Yesterday, I hated Alien with a purple passion. Today, I ordered a bottle of Alien Eau Extraodinaire.

Good_Sniffer

Mugler Alien Eau Extraordinaire EDT: Generic and inoffensive; a slightly sharp flowery perfume. Too expensive to be so generic. I doesn’t smell anything like the original Alien and it’s not for me.

Joys of life

If tinsel had an odor this would be it.

Super light, bright and sparkling with an ozone skin. All the ingredients are like this - I can't detect base or mid notes here. I detect mostly white tea, white amber, and some kind of white floral. 7/10 sweetness. It's pretty - seems a bit juvenile though probably because it seems 'high pitched'.

Alisaaa131

I love tea fragrances as well as bergamot, but unfortunately both types of fragrances don't last long.
This one is a light tea-citrus fragrance which is awesome for summer but has the longevity of a body mist.
I'll continue to use but whenever I spray this no one can smell me and I can't even smell myself after 1 hour.

If this came in EDP I would purchase in a heartbeat!

Lizzys

I do not get any of the Alien DNA in this version, but it is very elegant and citrusy. Definitely a fresh type of wood in the mix. Would not repurchase but have no regrets buying it either. I love the original Alien and will always be curious on the flankers.

ElizabethMH

I've had no experience of any other Alien scent. I bought this on a flight as it seemed a good deal. I like the bottle and interesting topper. I like the scent - I think. On me it starts out woody and then I do detect a sweet floral (the Tiare flower?). I don't detect much citrus. Does not seem to last long. Would I purchase again? Not sure.

Mona Lygre

I got a sample of this nice perfume 2 days ago, and it smells sooo goood!!!

I would love to spray it all over, but, unfortunately, I get my astma of it :((

Why-why-why - it's such a nice smelling perfume - the rest of you who can wear it - are just so very lucky :))

7/10 - 3 minus because of the astma/allergy note.

sharenkova87

Actually I can't smell any Alien,no similarities for me. It reminds me of something i've smelled before.. maybe some CK fragrance, I'm not sure. It's good for the office, not annoying anyone. When i tested it after a shower before go to bed , in the morning i was feeling it. Now in this hot weather i feel it about an hour and then...no trace.

mirena.1

I love it! It's similar to original Alien but little bit fresher.

Trotsky

I tend to like the kind of warm, rich scents that work best in cool weather, so finding summer fragrances isn't easy for me. Most are either too fruity and kid-like or too floral and fluffy, so I was very glad to find this particular version of Alien.

I primarily like this because it has plenty of oomph and character - which, of course, is great at any time - but it's also fresh and wearable enough for a hot summer day. I especially love the bergamot, which, with the lime, adds a crisp, attractively androgynous note that lingers beautifully.

And you'd never guess it was an EDT! Even with all those bright citrusy, summery notes, it has all the depth and interest of a favorite EDP.

lrnonken

fresh but strong, sweet but sharp, leading note of tea but lots more going on, too.
Complex but pleasant, strong projection.

justchillinxo

Okay so I'm noticing a kind of theme with some of Mugler's fragrances.

Here it is:

Eau extraordinaire smells like sprite.

Alien essence absolue smells like root beer

Angel muse EDP smells like hazelnut/chocolate liquor

So yea. Obviously they're very refined and don't smell cheap, but you get the idea :P

Chris v.V.

It’s only me, isn’t it? I’m the only one who smells nothing but mint/eucalyptus? I got a decant from a generous member. Really wanted to try another tea (combined with citrus and pepper). The “bright” “sparkling” notes everyone is talking about is straight up menthol to me. At dry down a little musk. Is mine off? Did the decant come in something that had mint in it already? Am I anosmic to certain notes in this fragrance? (I’m picking up mint in a lot of perfumes now - where there either is none, or very little - yikes!) Sigh.

Ninasknows

I absolutely love this !!! Eagerly awaiting my bottle after sampling. Not a fan of original alien it’s too overpowering and gives me a headache. This is fresh, clean , sexy and interesting !! Only downside is it doesn’t last too long on my skin. I would love this in an EDP! The bottle is stunning as well .

ptilda

I wrote in my notes, after my first test if this fragrance, that it is like a baby Alien. It has the DNA, but no "bite." And that's pretty much the case.

But to be fair, I assume flankers like this were made precisely for the benefit of whom the original Alien is too much for everyday wear. And for that, it is masterful.

I'm rather impressed with the longevity. From a 1ml stick vial, this one is still quite present several hours after application. It retains the signature jasmine note throughout, but this one is so interesting in that it brightens up with an almost creamy lime note in the drydown. I assume the lime was there at the beginning, but just covered by the other notes. It's just interesting to me that it reveals itself most in the drydown.

I can imagine this being a lovely day time or office Alien. Particularly in the heat (and I'm testing it in Haiti), it is quite nice. A spray would doubtless provide a different performance, but based on my tests, I have to say this is a very nice option for someone looking for a more everyday version of the classic.

A solid like for me.

CosmicSupernova

For being an Alien flanker I expected jasmine...but it's nowhere to be found in this. It's a nice unexpected surprise! So creamy dreamy citrusy. Sweet but not too sweet. Tart but not too tart. Warm summer vibes. If it were a drink it would be an Arnold Palmer.

Coquita

This is just as amazing as having ice tea and key lime pie in a flower garden in Florida. Not that I've ever done that, but it's what I picture when I spray this: lost of citrusy sweetness, joined by the soft bitterness of tea and a few indolic flowers. You can even feel the sun kissing your face when it settles. The dry-down is very similar to Alien EDT, but with a vanilla twist. It's a gorgeous, bright fragrance, mostly suited for spring-summer.

7/10

hexed

Trying this in winter, it's a good scent but doesn't make me feel as strongly as the original.
The citrus makes it light and uplifting.
The white florals in the original Alien are absolutely intoxicating, this one's a little more laced up and appropriate.
The drydown gets a bit "expensive hotel soap"-like, but it's still shockingly gratifying.

justfloral

Creamy orange flower and jasmine (creamy like fabric softener, I know it's tiare but my first thought was it) + peach?, canned peach or some exotic fruit + effervescent woody peppery SALTY note (like aspirin tablets effervescing in water or scent of silver poplar buds in spring) + dried flower bouquet?

It is very "yellow flowery" scent. It doesn't smell like jonquil of course, but I can imagine an yellow flower emitting fragrance of Alien Eau Extraordinaire.

drawingmaniac35

Honestly I cannot see how someone would wear this gem in the heat of summer. For me it would be too much. However in the freshness of spring or as a ray of sunshine in autumn is when I can see this scent work its magic. I love the original Alien, it gives me this "bad girl" vibe, it makes me stand out and have a big presence given I appear rather small among my colleagues and friends. Eau Extrordinaire is like a bad girl gone good. Still mysterious, still a huge confidence booster, just that much brighter.

Black petal

Nice fragrance similar to the original Alien when it cool down very refreshing and energizing scent I prefer to wear it during the day time.

ApathyAngel

Word association:
Sparkly
Energizing
Bright mornings

On first spray, the citrus is what shines through on my skin. Sparkly, spicy, completely refreshing and rejuvenating.

This is my get-motivated perfume. I'm the literal opposite of a morning person, so when I've got a lot to do, I spray this to immediately energize me and put me in a good mood.

Alien and each of its flankers (that I've been able to get my hands on) are like different sides of a woman, or different women as part of a cohesive, complementary team.

Alien is the woman who commands and carries a room. Essence Absolue is the woman who seduces and enchants a room. Flora Futura is the woman who excites and inspires a room. Oud Majestueux is the woman who mesmerizes and captivates a room.

And Eau Extraordinaire is the woman who energizes and motivates a room.

Utterly beautiful fragrance.

PricklyAndHot

Actually, I wanted tiare. But no beautiful tiare( In general it's not bad. But much less interesting than Alien.

RedLipsReview

If you have worn Alien and would desire a lighter and brighter version, then this is the solution to your wish. The Neroli, Tea and Tiare flower stand out. It is not super citrusy like CK One or Aqua Celestia, but there a slight undertone. It lasts for about four to five hours with a good four sprays and has sillage less than an arms length. It is perfect for office wear, especially when you sit close to other people or work in environments where heavy fragrances are a no no, such as being an educator. I wish there would have been an EDP as well. I would love to have it last longer even if there is no change in sillage. It is great for summer time, but won't last in the colder months. You need to switch back to Alien for the winter. But it would be a great summer-winter rotation.

colorfulmess

This smells like black tea leaves, tobacco leaf, and pepper. Its not to my taste but there is something intriguing about it. Its like nothing else in my collection. I just wish it was a tad fresher, and that I could smell the tiare since its one of my favorite notes. Alas, its more peppery than floral. This is my first Alien scent. I'll probably go for Sublime next!

canadianpetite

White theme: white flowers (jasmine), white pepper and blonde wood. I cannot detect citrus but that is probably what lightens up the scent. I always thought Tiare was an intoxicating bouquet - oh wait - stripped of sweetness, that must be the big flower I am getting. This fume suits someone with big personality and presence.

One spray on me:
Sillage: arm's length or more
Longevity: 3-4 hours
Rating: 2/5

lola29

The difference is only in the opening which has citrusy note. The drydown is the same as original Alien

cedar_lea

I had to search through the comments to make sure I wasn't smelling the wrong one. This is so. Much more woody than the listed notes. I'd expected the to see cedar or oak, moss, and vetiver listed as predominant notes among the classic Alien scents. It is beautiful, although it does seem like a lot sometimes and like it's trying to be two different scents. I'll need to wear it more to form a strong opinion, but I wouldn't mind doing that al all.

PerfumeKing14

This is lovely alternative to the original during summer, it lasts a long time on me & it smells lovely, it’s nothing like the original’ the citrus takes full control here but I really like it. I was never a fan of this when it first came out but I’m hooked now. Well worth purchasing.

romrom

I love this one!!! It's very summery without that sporty feeling that most summer fragrances have. It smells amazing on a hot summer night .

YoshikuniAkino

I'm surprised to see people commenting this perfume to be green and nice for summer. For me, it's mysterious and different than any perfumes I have tried. And it's unexpectedly pleasant for someone who often goes for straight-forward refreshing fragrances like me. This bottle got me feel like " this open girl is hiding something from you", or kind of " she is more worth-reading than she looks", as to my imagination :) I dont mind its humble silage, but I wish it could last more than 3 hours on me. I think it's more suitable for winter than my tropical summer. Yet I keep wearing it at the summer cuz I got it at summer and love smelling it on me :)

cherelune

Still Alien, but a brighter, more wearable Alien, especially in the heat of summer. I'm a lover of the original, and Alien Eau Extraordinaire is its warmer, friendlier sister. It opens with luminous citrus and fresh neroli, then develops into a white floral heart, with tiare and orange blossom at the center. It settles with an amber warmth and the Alien DNA lingers on. Though not as bold as its big sister, I keep catching whiffs of it even from just a few dabs from my mini. Eau Extraordinaire is a pleasing, inoffensive Alien beauty.

crea11

This is the Alien for me! It’s clearly Alien, but so different. Citrus, white flowers, and amber... this scent is so cold but so COZY, at the same time! A bright Gemini. If you like the idea of Alien but think it is too much give this one a try.

sheshittedonem

I really agree with the reviewers saying that this fragrance veers more unisex or masculine than other iterations of alien. Especially initially, this one is heavy on the bergamot.

I don't really agree with reviews saying it's a great summer or warm weather fragrance. I think that the green tea, amber, and cashmere wood are fairly prominent and give it the kind of weight which, along with all the citrus, can come off sort of sweaty smelling to me.

I find this scent really refreshing, but I don't find it clean. I love that it has a bit of the original Alien's super dreamy creamy white floral DNA, but not the heavy syrupy aspect.

I think it's uplifting, fresh, and herbal, but not sweet, not intensely feminine, and definitely no soap or powder to be found.

It's neutral/barely warm. Unsweetened green tea brewed with lemon rind, dumped on a lush white flowerbed, wetting the leaves and dirt a bit.

Charess

This is a green/citrus version of the original. It's also less intense than the jasmine bomb Alien is, which I like. It smells very cold, making it suitable for summer, but also for an ice cold winter day. Sillage and longevity are moderate.

Revontuli

My excitement lasted so short once I sprayed Alien Eau Extraordinaire on my skin... The citrusy opening first made me a bit anxious if this would stay rather unisex on my skin. Then it started to settle down, I was getting so excited to smell the beautiful tiare, one of my favourite flowers, but no, instead, the green tea became prominent. And it just smells like as if I sprayed it on sweaty skin and it got so disturbing.

I love the original Alien and I thought of this as an option for warmer weather. Well, maybe the cold weather has some kind of effect on the outcome so I should give this another chance next year. But until then, I'll only adore the beautiful bottle but not the juice in it.

JenJones28

This is terrific! I absolutely love tiare. I absolutely love this. It is very light and fresh for a mugler creation. It doesn’t have the weird sour notes that the regular alien and angel have. If you generally can’t wear mugler frags, this is one that is very different than the others so you may be able to wear this. It is a must try for tiare jasmine lovers.

CB23

Am I the only one that finds this completely unisex? I just tried this and I feel I could easily pull this off.

Clean, light, fresh, not at all what I was expecting as I've not really tried the women's range but have come to expect the exact opposite from the mens.

In summary, it's beautiful. I bought it as a gift for someone but will be getting a bottle for myself now too.

Fresh and Pretty

This is still Alien, but softer, more refined, and with a feminine citrus note that fades away in due time, with the light softer Alien scent remaining for several hours. I previously missed this one and I am so happy to find it. It seems that the stores could never keep any bottles around to sample. This is a close match to what you would get if Tom Ford Velvet Orchid Lumiere and Versace Eros Femme had a baby daughter.

clariella

How could I have missed this? Such a lovely fragrance.
A very balanced, but not boring mix of citrus, spices and white florals.
The opening is quite citrusy, with a lot of White florals, but as the fragrance developes I get more of the vanilla, amber and spices.
The longevity is excellent. After spraying it at noon I can still smell it at 7pm. And, not to mention I've got several compliments for the fragrance from random people.

placid

Absolutely love this fragrance. Comforting jasmine with some depth, nice sillage.. Something that I wont get tired of

missk

I must be honest, this is my least favourite Alien flanker. The green tea accord in Alien Eau Extraordinaire does not blend well with my chemistry at all and sadly smells quite sharp and synthetic.

I love the original Alien EDP for its sweet and unique take on jasmine, which was quite daring at the time of its release. The original smells like something from another world, however this flanker brings the scent straight back down to earth. It's not outstanding in any way, just a crisp jasmine tea fragrance with a heavy dose of musk and pepper.

Alien Eau Extraordinaire could actually be worn by men as well as women as it's the least feminine Alien I've smelt so far. Towards the base I find Alien Eau Extraordinaire quite grassy and green on the skin with very little sweetness. For this reason alone I would love to see how it wears on a man.

All the citrus, green tea and soft jasmine accords steer this fragrance into warm weather territory. I would probably refrain from wearing Alien Eau Extraordinaire during the cooler months as it find its freshness quite jarring when mixed with cold air.

iamtlynnette

There is something simultaneously familiar and...well, alien about Alien Eau Extraordinaire. I've been sniffing my wrists all morning, and I just can't quite place this fragrance—it's like a fleeting memory that grazes the edges of consciousness and then disappears again, still not fully recognizable. AEE, for me, is a will-o-the-wisp—seductive, beckoning, irresistible, impossible to catch. It's not completely floral, not quite gourmand, almost citrus-y, nearly woodsy. Somehow both bold and ethereal; a beautiful daydream as brilliant as starlight. AEE is paradox in a bottle. Quite happy to have this unique scent in my fragrance wardrobe! <3

Kath Grace

This is a beautiful fresh clean fragrance.

The lime and pepper are quite predominant to my nose but are tapered by the warmth of the sandalwood and amber.

These notes are intertwined with the glorious orange blossom.

The heliotrope lends a powdery finish. This heliotrope is like none other other I have smelled in a perfume. This heliotrope is true to nature and smells close to a marine heliotrope I have growing in my garden.

This fragrance is fascinating in an understated way. Very safe and pleasant but also very unique and interesting. Just beautiful!

I see some minor resemblance to Alien but really, this a different perfume. I am happy to have them both.

maianh83

Thierry Mugler NeVer fails at stealing my heart with his perfumes. This is exactly the sexy feminine Summer smell I have been looking for after owning over 80 different bottles of perfumes of 80 brand names ! this one still remains the soul of the original Alien EDP ( 40% ), 60% of this one brings the fresher feeling from tea, lime, lemon, bergamot and the floral feeling from the mix of tiare, neroli, orange blossom, ylang ylang, heliotrope.
Last notes : some slightly salty smell like Womanity exists in this one.

Madrona

It's great. I like it more than the original Alien, which assaults my nostrils to the point of nausea after half a spray. This is a fresh, sheered out version with plenty of green citrusy tea notes for effervescence, but equally intriguing as the original - it retains the distinctive Alien character very well. It doesn't lean sharp, it's a rather round, pleasant composition. The sillage and longevity respectively are not quite as atomic as those of the original, but still impressive.

LittleParfumista

A wonderful combination of alien EDP and citrusy notes. Fresh, but also still a true alien. A beautiful flanker, lighter and fresher than the original. I have to say for an EDT it's silage and longevity are quite good.

supertw94109

It's citrus on top of the Alien base of "purple juice". Always wondered how they got the perfume to smell like such an embodiment of the violet color in the original. Tart and refreshing. Would rather try the more gourmand ones instead as I already have so many citrus scents in my collection.

Wow I sprayed this on while skin was still very warm from bed and finally got the woody airy textured almost ozonic floral effect that I never experience before. Usually my skin temperature is very cool and on the drier side so citrus notes and other fruity top notes last very long on me so the citrus and purple juice notes were all I smelled before. Yay I am so happy to discover a new dimension to this perfume.

jay1

It's a non-offensive white floral. I get a lot of jasmine like smell. Don't get any citrus.

edwardnr17

Has a certain thick sweet warmth to it that I say it's more for spring than summer, or rainy days. In heat or small spaces this could go rogue on you and become cloying.

TsarinaM

This is the perfume to end all perfumes for me! I might as well delete all of my other reviews (kidding, there are some truly good scents out there) but this one is beyond words to me and is beyond any scent I can articulate. Thanks again, Mr Mugler- I feel like this scent was made for me. I can't get enough of the lemon yet gourmand scent. I can't so I won't even try.

God bless you-

VintageViolet_

While I enjoyed this fragrance, I found it to be lacking in heart compared to Alien Essence Absolue. (Which I adore in cold weather)

This is a more accessible and fresh version of EA. Definitely more suited to warmer months of the year. Extremely elegant.

ofir.derri

For all the Alien lovers out there, you must try this, at least for once, and let me tell you why -
As a person who had the original alien as signature scent for a year and a half, and as a person who dislike citrus smells, this one is heavnly alien based topped with lemon.
this is SO GOOD, It's perfect for the summer, it's not as heavy as the original alien but it can be smelled, and longevity is nice as well.
it is not as expensive as the original, but it's a straight up one step ahead.
love this so much

pinky_brit

I'm wearing it right now, I dislike the original Alien(way too green and intense for me) but smelled this a few times and actually liked it.
Well this is still very intense, I did not put a lot on and this is all that I can smell.
It is very very sweet, sexier than the original and also warmer. Still mature but younger.
It reminds me somewhat of the new JPG Classique Essence, which I also like but on my skin makes me nauseaous like this one.
I think I can't wear it either unfortunately, but I actually enjoy it just not on me.

EDIT: After the first hour lost a lot of power and in 4 hours I couldn't smell it anymore, so is not long lasting.

Sherrywijaya69

A sharper fresher, powdery, ever so slightly greener version of the alien EDT, is it better? Maybe, is it worth buying when you already have the edt? Absolutely, positively no, lasting power & sillage is below the edt, but scent is slightly upgraded, but not to the point that its worth buying

duchess_atreides

This was definitely a mistake for me. If anyone wants a 90ml bottle sprayed once, PM me

woodlandwalk

I'm not keen on Alien but thought this version sounded pleasant - with citrus notes, tropical florals and heliotrope.

Sadly I find it very boring, I get synthetic musk (probably Cashmeran) and a smooth sort of oily feel alongside a sickly vanilla. It reminds me of cheapy hairspray I'm afraid.

corkscrewcurly

I have yet to smell a version of Alien I don't like; most, including this one, are passionate loves.

I won't go into the notes (others have done so far better than I).

If you have Alien Absolu as well as Eau Extraordinaire, try layering them.

The result is heavenly.

duchess_atreides

It smelled so good in the store, like a lemon pop tart. I ordered it, and now it smells like sour lemon + white floral. I hope it's just my brain being affected by the flu virus.

bettybee983

Smells like sunshine in a mossy fairy grove, where their wings sparkle and shimmer and throw tiny little gusts of wind that carry a zesty, zippy citrus rounded out by smooth amber that blossoms from the base to the top. Dries down to an almost smoky, aquatic aura with a setting sun filtering through the leaves of a deep forest.

strut

I smell a lemon pie with this rich alienish jasmine DNA, the scent remains light but heavy, sweet but fresh, playful but serious, unique but not very out there. Very interesting creation, so sensual.. gourmandish floral luxury.
Love it

madame_plumeria

First of all I strongly dislike the original Alien as I find it cloying and on me it smells sickly sweet.

I would never think I'd like any of its versions but when I was given a sample of eau Extraordinaire I fell in love.

I actually had to check the bottle again as I thought to myself this was far too nice to be Alien.

It smells warm and sexy with a hint of citrusy freshness.

To me this is an ultimate night time fragrance... An elegant 'dress up' one which doesn't scream 'smell meeee'. It doesn't seek attention... It doesn't have to!

It smells like confidence...elegant, adorned with expensive jewellery.

Decent longevity, around 7h.

Overall 8.5/10

NeveD

The flanker has freshness, lime, lemon and orange, has a depth that gives him the connection with the original, vanilla, musk and amber, but that's not it.
The longevity is above 12hours and sillage is good also but I like aqua chic version more than this one.

GrandmaGaga

I haven't met an Alien I didn't like and this is no exception. I think even people who haven't liked Alien would like this one...no camphor in the beginning, very sunny disposition...the easiest Alien to get to know. Try it...you'll like it!

scarlett.angel

Oh Alien, one of my forever favourites. Too bad I live in a permanently hot climate and the original can be extremely cloying in our hot and humid weather. Eau Extraordinaire is the perfect solution. It is bright, luminous, fresh but warm at the same time. The tiare flower is beautiful and reminds me of summertime and the original Alien straight away. All those citrus notes are perfect for a pick-me-up up or hot days. The first few times I wore this I was disappointed by the longevity, but this has changed now. I wore it out last night to dinner, expecting the scent to disappear after 1 hour, when a couple of hours later I thought to myself, "what is that beautiful smell?" Turns out it was Alien Eau Extraordinaire and the drydown which I hadn't been able to properly detect before; that mix of cashmeran, white amber and vanilla. Alien Eau Extraordinaire blooms on skin best in hot and humid weather, so if you're having longevity problems I'd suggest trying it out in such weather. It does not last well in the cold (or aircon for me). I was pleased to come home still smelling of it. The bottle is just beautiful too, like a precious luminous stone. 10/10 for me!

For The Love of Perfume

I think that @Genny17 described this fine, fine fragrance spot on!!! Smells like a lighter, airier version of Alien, with some citrusy notes along with neroli. With a creaminess of vanilla and musk just to round it off so it's not so sharp.Very fresh. Will be a beautiful Spring/Summer scent, but who cares, I am enjoying this just fine in the winter :)

I had been dancing around the idea of owning Alien for some time. There was something so good about it, powerful, and beautiful. But as I sampled the fragrance on my skin, I really felt the fragrance was wearing me and not the other way around. Then comes Eau Extraordinare. This is amazing. If Alien is the color purple, this is bright yellow. "AEE" is so uplifting and fresh and warm, and yes, powerful like her sister. While the original Alien commands the stage front and center, AEE is dancing in the corner by herself in a beam of light with absolute joy. It's brilliant. The citrus is not tart, nor sugar sweet, but warm, like a sparkling honey lemon warming in the sun in a field of fresh, effervescent white flowers. I disagree with those that say this fragrance does not have staying power. It lasted all night and into the next day and still lingered on my clothes after that. Don't hesitate because its a toilette. I have plenty of parfums that don't have this staying power. If you are to compare her to her big sister, yes, but that is only because her sister is such a unique and strong girl that it takes more than a few hand washings to even get rid of her. I am so glad to have purchased this and I really love it, it really makes everything else I own pale in comparison.

nihalhel

It`s fresh and at same time so warm. I love it!

babodoeji

I prefer this one more than the original. Everything in this bottle is a treasure.

The Jury is out on this, I love Alien, But this I am not sure yet. I need to wear it a few more times. This was a blind buy due to my love for Alien, Unfortunately it smells like Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers on me which is a downer because we didn't get along at all back in the day :(

barentonwithaba

Very strong powdery orange blossom opening. Then turns into a much better blend of citrus with florals and dries down with a good amber. I do not get the great silage or longevity. I typically don't go for powdery or orange blossom but this one is pretty nice. I will try it again in warmer weather too.

"Oh ohhh, I'm an ALIEN, I'm a legal alien, I'm an Englishman in New York." -Sting

My first Thierry Mugler perfume and hopefully not my last. This one is right up my alley of notes: Tiare, Citrus, Orange Blossom, Ylang-ylang, Amber, and Sandalwood. It's a fresh floral that can be worn anytime and any weather.

Destrea

It's heavy, but thankfully not as heavy as Alien - it's a bright day fragrance but too strong to wear at work. Opens soft and fresh but settles into an overly potent powdery floral.

Three of my friends have now rejected this perfume and passed it on to someone else because: "It just doesn't smell right on me", "smells nice in the bottle but kinda old-lady on skin" "seemed light but then gave a heavy-perfume headache"

slavka.filipova

Wow, very fresh, deep, citrus and gorgeous, one of my faves from Alien line. Some love, some even hate it i am from the lovers. I will buy refill bottle soon even i have 1/2 that how much i like it lasts all day on me.

8/10

Konga5000

Sampled this at Macy*s and you people are right on!
It's like Alien with the hard inky edge removed then replaced by something sunny!
I love it and will be buying a full bottle soon (not at Macy*s however! Too expensive there).

Justpeachy007

Yes, this is still very Alien. Just Not nearly as "thick". I do love Alien, but it's extremely too potent for everyday. And Too intoxicating for daytime IMO. Original Alien Can be invasive to those around you as it is a cloud. Albiet a delicious wonderous cloud, but not everyone's cup of tea. Extraordinaire On the other hand actually has a tea note! Lol. Very wearable. Still the Alien offspring, the DNA is clearly there. But subdued in such a perfect way. You don't loose the notes in this eau. You are sure it's Alien. The silage is not at all overpowering, and the longevity is decent for an eau. On clothes you will smell it hours later. Uplifting and bright. Does make you feel good to smell it. It's a draw in fragrance, not a push it out. Highly recommend. This for day, original Alien for night.

Currant01

This is the one I go for on a date night or a night at home. Opens up citrusy and dries down to something warm and just comforting. It's pleasing and always appropriate without being boring, as this is a scent that kind of sits close to your skin but is interesting. I love it

sarahvigne

A sensual scent, mainly bergamot and tea, therefore reminiscent of earl grey. A bit woody, very gentle. I love it and was so sad when after a week of using it I dropped the bottle and it smashed. Perfect for summer, for day or evening, nothing remotely headachy or offensive about it, a friend for life.

fyre92

I mix this and the Essence Absolue. AMAZING!!

rihabi

I don't know why the lemon is so down in the pyramid of smell according to people. I definitely sense it since the very beginning, it's like a lemon pie or an ice cream maybe. Some tea is on the surface too and probably this tiare flower, that's all I can sense. Usually I hate citrusy stuff, but this is bearable and kind of pleasant for summer days.

Leah lilly

From top to dry down are bergamot, neroli and tea. The dray down is a little bit softer and warmer because of the tiare flower and amber. Anyway it's just nice elegant fragrance ☆☆☆

Tussa

i tried this one today, expecting that I will not like it. What a surprise. After a while I couldn't smell any citrus notes, settled down, I felt luxury flower soap in most positive way. It has very good longevity and for me, smells quite unique.

mystica

Creamy fresh lemon pie, spicy with a strong floral (jasmine) touch. Vanilla, amber and sandalwood is also detectable.

Ideal for spring & summer. A very chic daytime frag when you want to look polished & tip-top condition.

katemax

I tried this recently and t reminded me of ange ou demon... although obviously someone is in disagreement as twice Ive put it n the box where you put stuff like that and it wasdown voted

freddinos

Initial spray: very diluted Alien invasion, with lots of aromatic lemon zest. It is in fact quite lovely, and this is coming from a lemon and Alien disliker.
It is far less potent than the original, and within 1 hour it already is only a skinscent.
Lovely nonetheless, wouldn't mind a full bottle for the summer.

upperu

Very fresh and deep fragrance. It is more citrus but still "Alien" one. It is ideal to wear in the situations where the classic Alien might be too intense: to the office, to the beach or during the romantic getaway.

Southern Blonde

O my God the best THE BEST in the Alien fragrance line. This is just lovely. I feel like they made it just for me. The Tiare Flower from Tahiti is my favorite tropical flower and I can totally smell it here. It's the most beautiful white flower besides gardenia. This does tend to smell like a gardenia based white floral but it's not as heavy or overpowering as you would imagine. It has other lovely flowers: ylang ylang heliotrope and orange blossom. My nose picked up on the heliotrope and the orange blossom rather quickly. The frag opens with citrus and something like a sweet bergamot tea. It's fresh and delicious as it starts. Then the flowers begin to softly bloom. The dry down is vanilla and amber. This is my kind of perfume. Feminine, sweet and soft. It doesn't announce itself when you walk into a room. Perfect day time casual scent to wear to work. It's also really the most feminine of the Aliens. Most of the aliens smell like men colognes and you know it. This one is the female alien.

kikinha

WOW! That's all I can say! This is a gorgeous fragrance. I got a sample when I ordered Angel Muse and honestly, I regret not knowing this gem before. I would have ordered this instead. It does not last long, but it's an EDT after all. Love the price, love the bottle, the fragrance... love everything about it!!! This is my next!
