The first thought that came to mind was this smells like Sweet Tarts candy dust. As it dried down, the sweetness was still there but the musk balanced it out and took over. The syrupy sweetness smells good but I can definitely see this being a cooler night time fragrance for me. If you don’t like super sweet fragrances, pass by this one.

First Impression:

The opening is the sweetest thing I have ever smelled. Diabetics, stay away!

Full(er) Review:

Okay! This is really, really yummy.

Yes, it is SO sweet. Yes, the first time you smell it is sort of insane. You will probably faint a little from the sheer sweetness. HOWEVER, I love it. I totally understand why people say it has a bubblegum accord because I definitely get that in the opening. I was sort of confused by it at first, but now it's addictive. The cloves/spices/green touch also left me befuddled the first time I wore it, but I just wasn't used to it; that spicy edge is actually very light now that my nose doesn't immediately pick it up. Then the dry-down is just a beautiful, slightly unique vanilla.

People calling this a white floral-bomb is crazy to me lol. I LOVE white florals, even vintage grandma white florals (though I probably wouldn't wear them out), so this is nothing in comparison. If anything, the tuberose is a little light...I almost want more. It's blended into that vanilla very well. It's not super distinctive, just adding this creamy bubblegum-banana edge to the scent. In fact, if I didn't know what tuberose smelled like, I would have no idea there was anything floral in here.

I saw "fish oil" in these reviews, which tbh...made me really nervous. I think straight from the nozzle, the insanely sweet bubblegum accord mixed with the extreme oiliness of Mancera perfumes might be what's reading as "fish oil" to people. Once I spray it though, I get none of that.

Very, very fun. Hint of candied juiciness in the opening, then this lovely, ever-so-slightly floral vanilla that sticks around FOREVER. This is my first Mancerea, and yes, this is beast mode lol. All in all...it's a LOVE for me. I think this will be my signature cold-weather gourmand.

Velvet Vanilla is a white floral gourmand with green touches, syrupy blackcurrant, sweet mandarin orange, pear and pink pepper, warm, spicy cloves layered on a thick, ambery, vanilla, white, musky base.

First and foremost, Velvet Vanilla is a fragrance crafted around tuberose. The carnal, big, bold, bubblegumy, white flower is surrounded here with jasmine, neroli and rose. The sweet fruits combined with vanilla give Velvet Vanilla a pronounced gourmand feel.

Angelica and neroli flower are brilliantly paired with the sweetness of the fruits to contrast and balance the composition, preventing it from becoming sickening sweet.

The overall feel of this scent is indeed velvety and silky, smooth and soft, creamy and luscious but not too much. Or too synthetic smelling. It’s so beautifully balanced between all the accents and accords! Every time I wear Velvet Vanilla, I feel happy. It’s such an uplifting, radiant and mood boosting scent that brightens up my day!

To me, as far as performance goes, Velvet Vanilla is a strong scent, without being a beast like my other Manceras. I would put this in a moderate to strong category with moderate sillage. Also, I think this is better suited for spring and summer time, since it’s so rich in fruits and all sorts of floral notes. The vanilla base offers a wider wearability, therefore I can’t say that I would see this out of season if worn during fall season!

From my personal collection of Mancera, this is the most feminine, pretty girl type of perfume, followed closely by Holidays.

I can’t comment on similarities between Velvet Vanilla and Love Don’t be Shy because I haven’t tried it. But apparently they are similar, other reviewers say it here… And usually Mancera scents have a better performance than other brands, so I feel I have the better one out of the two. If I ever find myself around a Kilian counter to get my nose on Love…, I’ll update here!

Whether similar to Kilian’s scent or not, Velvet Vanilla is a gorgeous, sweet white floral with great performance and very affordable price! It’s another 10/10 perfume from Mancera in my opinion.

PipaFlowers

First of all - I've read synthetic but I think it's more some good quality food fragrances (but the musk). Why do I say this? I've worked for kitchens and food equipment and I have this idea: sometimes it's possible to find great fragrances borrowing them from the kitchen professionals. The tangerine - zesty aroma in this scent is so culinary and if it were purely synthetic I wouldn't be able to stand it because, after pregnancy, I have a bad clash with purely synthetic orange essential oils ( the one we can usually find in room fresheners or even in some signature scents - chemically different from the ones used for food ).
I love this scent and it has been a very lucky blind buy (do not blind buy if you don't like florals, vanilla, tangerine/zest and innocent sweetness ).
I don't get the bubble gum at all, but I get an aroma similar to a southern Italian Christmas cookie called "susamielli" which is made with tangerine essential oil, almonds and a mix of vanilla, honey and spices (cloves, cinnamon and sometimes coriander).
Well there's no coriander here (thanks!) but there's an amazing angelica ouverture ( and angelica it's the same botanical family as coriander or fennel - one can notice a trait d'union among these fragrances), followed by this high end tangerine/zest, cloves and a great white flower burst that ends up with a comforting posh vanilla - directly from vanilline ;) .
It reminded me this Mediterranean Christmas cookie but it's a scent I usually use during spring and summer: it opens up way better than during the winter on my skin and the floral heart comes out lighter. I often use it to go out (evening /night) and it's very noticeable, finely sensual but not nauseating.
I love it.

I tried this fragrance today at a store on my skin. In terms of ingredients and performance, I think it is a good quality perfume. Also, the sillage is quite good and it lasts whole day on my wrist, even after taking a shower.
However (sorry, there is a however!), this scent just doesn't match my taste. It is VERY sweet, as in bubble gum sweet in the opening. Later on, it turns into a warm vanilla, which is in a way comforting, but it reminds me a lot of vanilla I'd use in the kitchen. So, while it's not really my type of fragrance, if you are into sweet scents, this one might be worth a try.

fubar

I wear this, as a man, and I don't see any problem with it.
I really like the florals, and this fragrance just smells so sweet and yummy.
It isn't a powerful masculine scent but it smells good so IDC.

Faverinsky

Imagine how pleasantly surprised I was when I received this in the mail this morning, expecting a bubblegum fragrance, and that is EXACTLY what I got; the bottled scent of the original tutti frutti Hubba Bubba! For over a year I delayed blind-ordering Velvet Vanilla (it's only available online in NZ's South Island) because it was often compared to L'Interdit and My Way (I'm not a fan of those atomic/shallow/sharp tuberose-centric scents), but I'm glad I finally caved in because I was rewarded with this sweet, slightly creamy/spicy, strong, long-lasting, bubble gum scent... Holy Princess Bubblegum, yum, I'm in love!

Soonimari

It was a blind buy and based on the negative reviews I was prepared for it to be fishy and not so great but I was pleasantly surprised. It is my new favorite fragrance. 😍

It really does smell like bubble gum and is pretty sweet. I do smell some white flowers but they aren’t overpowering and mostly smell bubblegum. I usually cannot stand sharp white flower smell but in this one I like it because it is blended so well, has a clean vibe to it and smells expensive. Definitely way better than Moschino Bubble Gum, which smells cheap and nauseating.

If you love Burberry Her or Her Elixir, Ariana Grande Mod Vanilla or Kilian Princess, then it can be a safe blind buy. 😊

amecinnamon

Very bubblegum on the opening and then it dries to a more floral scent. It's nice, nothing spectacular but I like it.

Blossomlove

Hmm..bubblegum? I'm not smelling bubblegum. I'm getting a high end vanilla, like the one in Cuir Beluga. I also smell fruit and citrus notes blended very well and balanced with white floral tuberose and jasmine. To me, the sweet vanilla scent is the strongest, most dominant note. I also detect the green, herbal quality of the angelica. It's wrapped in the vanilla so well that it actually really complements the other notes in the fragrance. It is very reminiscent to the sweetness and vanilla of Cuir Beluga and because of that, it seems very refined, delicate, and classy. I also detect the black currant with the angelica, all the notes anchored with a clean, white musk. It's definitely not a gourmand vanilla at all, and the pink juice is not the right color for this fragrance. It needs to be a pale, golden color complementing the gold bottle.

Siv7Stars

It is pure Original Hubba Bubba, I haven't smelled or tasted that stuff since I was about 12 but I suddenly realised that's what it reminded me of, what I was smelling. V nostalgic fun perfume. As good bubblegum as Bel Rebels. Love this.

BikiniSoTeeny

Bubblegum tuberose, and generally white florals dipped in powdered sugar, it is a bit much but oh well I still wear it on occasion. I like synthetic nature of it 🎀

Dina France

It should not be called Vanilla! This is a blend of Tuberose (70%) with some green notes, but mostly tropical and cloyingly sweet, Mandarin, Lilly of the Valley + Rose (= "a new doll" smell), Orange Blossom, Sugar / Cotton Candy. I do get the comparisons with Bubble Gum and Love Don't be Shy. Kilian has more Orange Blossom, but if there was a Tuberose version of Love Don't be Shy it would probably sound similar to this.

verytrulylauren

Sickly sweet like Kilian’s LDBS- SO glad I only bought a sample as it’s already giving me a headache. PASS!

Fortune1

There is very little vanilla in this to my nose. All I get is a sickly sweet, synthetic tuberose bubblegum mess.
Decluttered.

cellycell215

Think pink , pink wig , pink lipstick , pink shoes , pink Barbie set , pink bubble gum !!! Pink everything! . Smells exactly like sweet pink bubble gum . That’s all nothing more nothing less

Thykes10

The opening is fruity but slightly spicy. I think I mainly pick up on orange and pear with a *hint* of clove? It's just enough to add interest but not so much as to make it feel too "holiday spicy." As it starts to settle I can 100% pick up on the tuberose which feels creamy and sweet. It's definitely not a vanilla centered fragrance like I thought it would be based on the name. On me, the strongest projection was for about 2 hours. After about 4-5 hours, I can pick up on a white musk with a slight vanilla.

ginandrice

Opens like fruity-floral marshmallow candy—reminiscent of Love Don't Be Shy—but then the tuberose muscles its way to center stage, and Velvet Vanilla turns into a more typical fruity-floral.

The tuberose is like tangy, under-ripe banana here, which I find cloying in combination with the velvety, throat-coating sweetness of VV's white floral core. There's also a sort of even, unending sameness to VV that pings as distinctly synthetic to me.

Ultimately I find Velvet Vanilla disappointing, even subtly off-putting. I find it alluring at first sniff; then flirty and coy; then boring and slightly vacuous, all within less than an hour.

Nikkisouth79

Started with a 10ml decant of this and loved it. I then purchased the full bottle a month later , sprayed it once and never looked back at it until now (year later). I hate I put it away for so long. The initial opening is a bit much due to the abundance of chewy tuberose BUT once it dries down and all the other notes settle in...it is beautiful. The dry down gives me a little pink cotton candy and bazooka bubble gum quality but in a sophisticated way. It is definitely better suited for fall/winter in my area, since we battle a lot of humidity in the spring and summer.

Katelynl88

I do not like this at all . I don’t understand all the white floral in a perfume called velvet vanilla . It’s very strong . Just not my type of scent . I enjoy tuberose and vanilla but this particular white floral I don’t like at all . This is a scrubber for me

Charmedbymeghan

It is true what the people say about this not really being a Vanilla-centric fragrance. This is a pretty floral - it even comes off kind of like a tropical floral because the tubereuse leans banana* (not bubblegum**). I was so nervous to get this and have the bubblegum ruin it for me. Thank God I am not getting that. Instead it is more banana-esque, with the sweetness of the vanilla-base shining through the (mainly) white floral composition - it comes off as almost edible, like the type of flowers you find in a salad at an upscale restaurant. It's still floral, but I mean maybe I would eat it to? 🧐 lol ... It is not full on BANANA. Definitely not full on VANILLA. and no - it is NOT Bubblegum. More like banana laffy taffy & sweetened white florals. Slightly creamy... Pretty and great for spring/summer and to take on tropical vacations and days at the beach ⛱️ ... I would wear it whenever though just because I like the scent. It has really good projection and longevity. Better than an average perfume, but not quite the beast that Roses Vanille, Red Tobacco, and Arabian's Tonka are. You can find for around $60 at discounters for a 4 fl oz bottle and that's a great deal! Don't pay full price!!! Pretty bottle too to match the scent. 😊

villyda

It’s sweet more than anything, jasmine, vanilla and bubblegum, so much bubblegum!! So far I only tried it in spring and summer. Did not work. Its a childish or young scent, but this child has ADHD and can’t sit still, which in turn is good because the scent bubble would simply be too cloying. I blindbought 10 ml of this and am willing to try it in colder weather. I wont be surprised if it still wont give what needs to be gave.

Kucemi

Very floral with a turn of clean soapy musk mixed with a tail of vanilla and powder.

DaintyEssence

Princess Bubblegum from Adventure Time smells like this 100%.

Yes it is sweet vanilla, flowers and mandarin are clear here. But Pepper and clove prevent of make this scent too childish, so we have here some elegant, mature bubblegum fragrance. So none can say it is boring kiddo scent. Strongly like this scent and will wear it with pleasure.

I would say it is more spring scent cause of all this floral note makes me think about blossom time

also it reminds me Love don't be shy, but only reminds - they are still different

Calvinrock

Love don't be shy if it was more indolic and animalic. This perfume is so strange, to me it doesn't smell good or bad, and yet it's kind of addicting. It doesn't smell gourmand to me, I want to try this in the cold cold winter

herculano

I decided to go ahead and risk a blind buy with this one, even knowing that I am often really put off by heavy vanilla fragrances. (There are several exceptions, but it’s safe to say vanilla heavy fragrances are not my top favorites)

I love white florals, though.

The reasons I took the risk with this are several:

Creamy white florals are something I adore.

Rumored to be long lasting and powerfully projecting (for example, Love Tuberose is supposed to be only average on those points and I can’t bear being disappointed and spending big money for something that few will even notice on me, or that I won’t be able to smell much on myself)

And, of course, Mancera bottles give you more juice for your money.

Okay, so…
I am not disappointed VV …nor am I blown away.

I am enjoying it. I love the strong tuberose in the first 20 minutes much more than I love the vanilla dry down however, this vanilla is kinda interesting and I am warming up to it.

It’s a “vanilla shampoo” … literally smells like a vanilla shampoo, instead of a swarthy sticky vanilla pod. It’s a clean, sudsy, soapy vanilla. It’s not an oppressive or dreadfully cloying vanilla, in other words.

I can understand the marshmallow effect too. But again, it’s a clean effect, instead of sticky or gooey.

I do think the tuberose stays well into the dry down, too, but it takes a back seat to vanilla and I think I go nose-blind to the tuberose after awhile.

The next morning smelling my arm it’s still as though I recently washed with a vanilla body wash or shampoo.I still smell an ultra clean vanilla, and I must say I am enjoying it. It’s strongly fragrant, 9 hours later.

I also ordered Wild Python, and it’s on its way to me.

Hoping these two will end my search for long lasting creamy white florals. I suspect they will serve this purpose for me.

So to sum it up, I think the initial stage of this perfume is swoon worthy, and really hit the spot for me.

The dry down isn’t as gorgeous, however, I am beginning to enjoy that stage, too.

FYI, this is long lasting but nowhere near as powerful or projecting as Rose Vanille.

VV is “good” in terms of lasting power and projection, but I don’t find it nuclear strength at all.

UPDATE:

I just picked up the shirt I was wearing the other day when I was wearing VV, and it’s powerfully fragrant and super delicious smelling. More powerful than I thought at first.
On my shirt I smell the tuberose AND the clean sudsy vanilla.

UPDATE: I much prefer Wild Python to this, and I don’t find myself reaching for VV much since that first few days I got it.

Again, I think mostly only vanilla lovers will enjoy this.

A “nice” fragrance, but I didn’t need this in my collection. I may keep it and enjoy it occasionally, though.

Cyn_Belle

Velvet Vanilla is a more grown up version of Love Don’t Be Shy( which I’m obsessed with btw). I get a scent of gorgeous white florals ( tuberose being the star) sitting on a thick, solid bed of the most beautiful vanilla. The vanilla in this is not as sickly sweet as in LDBS but is just so so pretty to smell, think of a rich madagascan vanilla bean ( like in Dior Addict but sweeter). I get the creamy bubblegum floral scent a lot of folks talk about as it settles into the dry down … smells like vanilla whipped cream infused with tuberose. So good.

Obsessed with this scent as it projects throughout the whole time I wear it. It does not budge an inch and clings forever on clothing so overspraying not recommended.

Price point is great for the quality and amount you get of this scent. One of Mancera’s best perfumes in my opinion. This and Roses Vanille are part of the brand’s best and firm forever staples in my collection.

Bottle matches the scent perfectly.

Love.

loliirain

This is what I would imagine a more floral love don’t be shy would smell like. While I enjoy love don’t be shy, I’ve always wished it had less orange blossom. Fortunately Velvet vanilla has very little orange blossom, no rosewater and less powdery notes than LDBS, but is just as sweet and jammy. I get some of the juicy pear and Angelica in the opening. In the middle there’s some orange blossom mixed with pink bubblegum, buttery tuberose, a hint of jasmine and neroli. The drydown is mostly sweet warm vanilla with tuberose. Creamy and bright. I think those who love tuberose and vanilla fragrances would enjoy this. I can also see the comparison to truth or dare. Truth or dare is like the more mature version. It’s dirtier, more animalic and heady. The tuberose is stronger, more velvety. But is no where near as sweet and bubblegummy as velvet vanilla.

Esna

Spoiled snobs who are friends because they know what it's like to have people be jealous of them.

The name is deceiving, it’s very ultra floral. I hardly like florals but whatever, I've still had this for years somehow. Next.

ambervxyjul

I blind bought this and was skeptical after reading reviews because I’m really not into a heavy tuberose. That note can be tricky because if it’s done wrong, it can smell like a grandma. To my surprise, this scent is very inviting and happy. I get the vanilla but it’s a candy like vanilla. I don’t get much tuberose! There’s also a slight cologne vibe to it that keeps its balance from being too sweet. Don’t get me wrong it’s very sweet on the scale, but once settled it’s fitting and in place. I will wear this when I want to uplift my mood, it’s a very happy scent. My bottle is ombré though so not sure if that’s a different velvet vanilla considering the photo on here is purple?

n87

Smells like pink bubblegum. The pear isn't very strong in this. Mostly get orange, tuberose, neroli and a hint of jasmine. I get some vanilla in the drydown, although it's not very strong. It's nice if you're looking for a pretty bubblegum fragrance with hints of orange. Performance is really good. 3 hour scent bubble and 7+ hours on skin.

Alexx123

I was really excited to try this based on the reviews, however I have mixed feelings about it.

I was expecting it to lean towards more of a vanilla scent, but I’m not getting much of it. More of a strong bubblegum scent but it takes me towards a young person’s perfume (childlike).

I noticed some people compare it to Love don’t be shy, but I’m not getting the similarity at all. Love don’t be shy smells like an expensive desert (very smooth and creamy too) whereas this is nowhere near that. They are different. I don’t hate it but it wouldn’t be something I’d go for or something I’d be excited to wear.

Update: I actually noticed this is close to Givenchy l'interdit after smelling it a second time, which gave me the idea to smell the two to compare. I always thought l'interdit smells like expensive bubblegum. However velvet vanilla is more sweet and more childish, maybe a bit more sharp too.

anjunakerry

I was sold on this for the tuberose, Jasmine Gardenia(my three favourite notes ) Pear, orange and vanilla.
I get none of that...Yet! I've only been wearing it for about a hour, All I get is the clove and pink pepper. Its not bad but I'm hoping the middle and base notes come through soon. I do detected a tiny bit of the bubblegum tuberose that I love.
This stuff is nuclear, I've gone for two sprays and it's powerful. At first I had a bit of a sneezing fit but it was short lived. Anything more than two sprays and you risk choking your family, friends and colleagues out. I was going to wear this to the cinema and to fly In but I won't subject the other passengers to this beast. If you want subtle...this isn't for you. This will be resevered for going out occasions and colder weather.
Paid £95 off allbeauty in the UK. This was the only mancera that wasn't on sale. But all the others are, plus montale.

Capricorn89

I just got mine today...and I don't know how I feel about it. Blind buy based on reviews. Im a big fan of the house and I have couple of their fragrances already. This one doesn't impressed me much. I don't get the bubble gum vibe everyone is talking about. Not at all. Its more floral than fruity for me and heavy. I get some burned sugar somehow. It smells thick and like a candle. Im trying to like it for now, but its hard tho. Test first before buy.

SmellGood48

10 - 15 hours on my skin, even after the gym! I get pear, orange, and some pepper in the beginning. Then the blast of tuberose, jasmine, and, I think, neroli makes the expensive bubble gum vibe that lasts about 4 hours on me. Then the vanilla rose, and the orange came back. Until it's just a very smooth vanilla that I love and boosts my mood. Women and men both love the smell. Yes, it leans more feminine, but wear what makes you happy.

aniton

This fragrance smells like a fancy bubble gum, and it sticks around on my skin for over 8 hours. I absolutely love wearing it because it boosts my confidence and puts me in a happy mood. If you're into sweet scents, this one is a winner. It's super sweet and rich. The mix of tuberose and vanilla gives it a unique vibe where neither one overpowers the other. Normally, I'm not a fan of tuberose, but it works for me in this fragrance. Whenever I have it on, I feel optimistic, and the pink bottle totally suits the whole vibe. It's a "think pink" fragrance for me

Whateverwhocares

Very harmonious blend, albeit after a jumbled opening. But it gets there quick. Synthetics on point. Sillage, projection and longevity are all 🔥. Unfortunately this one is very body chemistry dependent. A total banger and not an easy wear.

Velvet Vanilla is a constantly developing resonated floral-vanilla, spiced tuberose and pear scent profile; this is one of the best from the house; a dense scent that’s gonna wear you unless you’re super confident. Leans feminine, but I think this is made for a flamboyant guy.

insanelystellar

I hate everything about this. After much research, and being a tried and true tuberose fan for years, this is just not it. I wanted to love this. I've tried it on the separate occasions, different weather, everything. All I get is a VERY sharp and synthetic blast of florals that is indistinguishable from one another. There's a tiny hint of synthetic vanilla extract in the background that's trying to claw it's way through the mess that is the opening, but it's too faint to matter. I absolutely adore Amouage Love Tuberose, Armani My Way, BDK Tubereuse Imperiale, and JHAG Lili Fantasy. This is a jumbled mess in a bottle. Buyer beware, and test her first! I have a full bottle with maybe 4 sprays missing for testing. All packaging included.

myra83

Its more closed to my both favorite from robert piguet douglas hannant and petit fracas which is my favorite scent thanks to my beloved bro hanif send me gift for such a lovely beutiful scent . 💕

Littlethingsweetpea

Very beautiful scent. Very floral and fruity as well as a hint if vanilla. This is perfect for all year round but shines in the spring and summer. I do get a hint of pink Bubblegum from the tuberose but it's more fruity, sweet, floral, vanilla. A very creamy inticing scent that will get you tons of compliments because the projection is great and it lasts all day even after you've taken off your clothes and smell it 3 days later, it's still on the clothing. It also lasts on the skin for a long time as well. The bottle I got is 4 oz 118 ml and there is a ton of juice in the bottle it has lasted me for 9 months and I belive will continue ro last me for rhe rest of the year. Good price for $100.

KimberMoon

Heavy jasmine and I want to say gardenia, but she's not in the notes. It's some pretty strong, sweet floral juice. The fruitiness is just kind of in the background and the vanilla is too, to my nose. There is a bit of a candy-like quality to the tuberose, but I wouldn't say it's gourmand at all. It's a pretty floral.

Dianaoud

What’s not to love about this tuberose/vanilla/ jasmine scent? Creamy, soft and pleasant scent that’s stays on the whole day. One of Manceras refined and well balanced scents.

Ground hound

Fruity, floral bubblegum, with a creamy vanilla end and tuberose.
The gourmand notes fans will probably like it as it is borderline edible :)
I have noticed with Tubereuse Couture (P. Guillome) that tuberose works very well with warm /creamy vanilla and this proves it again, this combination really compliments it.

No weird twists, no "acquired taste" notes, just sweet warm fruity-floral vanilla bubblegum/gumball/gum tape.
Can`t smell any angelica, spices or rose. There is a bit of pepper on the background though.
The musk is very mild.
Warm, comforting, pleasant, somewhere even nostalgic due to its bubble gum note.
It does not feel childish as vanilla and white flowers definitely make it more mature.
But of course if you dislike sweet/gourmand notes you should not buy it.
If you do like them- you might have found your new fav scent.
Good combination of notes, good layering as usual from Pierre Montale.

Nataliajj

I don’t really smell vanilla, it smells very sweet and like bubblegum. I don’t really like it on me personally because I think it smells a bit like children’s perfume. Also it kind of makes me feel sick its so thick and sweet.

Edit:
I went to the local grocery story and there was a Hello Kitty Childrens perfume that smelled exactly like this.

cats_eye

I wish people would stop comparing this to Love, Don't Be Shy. If it's similar to anything, it's Watch by Micallef. This isn't LDBS and it's not trying to be. This is way stronger and has a soapy note.

camilleollo

i wore this today at trader joes and literally the cashier and 2 other strangers came up to me just to tell me "you smell so good". i was shocked! the projection on this is wild. im shocked because this isnt even my fave perfume, but im keeping it because it smells like marshmallow bubblegum and it's a huge compliment getter!

PPLY

This smells nothing at all like LDBS. I blind bought this, I get no vanilla whatsoever & no sweetness just a potent floral fragrance. I’m going to try it over the next week and see if I grow to like it, but right now It’s not what I thought. I wanted to really like this.

Ethereal Love

This smells like bubblegum and also has that powdery marshmallow quality, like marshmallows straight from the package. Very delicious and beautiful.

noneya88

Smells like bubbletape. I like it 👌

Momopeach

This smells super good. It does smell quite similar to Love dont be shy, but it has a harsher opening, a bit green and sharp, maybe that's the Angelica and cloves. For sure, you get the dusty powdered sugar bubble gum scent.

Despite tuberose obviously being there this smells way closer to LDBS than My Way, My Way is more citrus, zingy, fresh.

I have to say the Mancera atomizer is the best I have ever seen. It is a LONG spray, super fine mist, it's incredible.

katherina.1

This is a beautiful fragrance. The name indeed suits the perfume very well. It’s floral and sweet, yet not overly sweet. It’s creamy, velvety and well balanced. Gorgeous really.

It does remind me of “may way” but this is a more velvety sophisticated take on it. I wouldn’t overspray this one, though.

cats_eye

This is really nice! It's a vanilla floral musk with marshmallow and bubblegum notes. You could probably wear this year round.

Edit: Got two compliments on this one yesterday!

Edit: I went and found the Blue Magic hair dressing in the blue tub someone below me mentioned.. and it smells nothing like Velvet Vanilla. You need to get your nose checked!

Miazinha

Detergente e não perfume para o corpo, é o que tenho a dizer deste perfume. Tanto ouvi falar dele, que era orgástico e tal. Pior desilusão. Já me desfiz dele. Deu dor de cabeça, forte demais. Não recomendo.

k8iet

I would definitely agree with reviews saying it could be too much for some people. I can spray myself with two sprays and smell myself all day! I love the scent, which is a relief as this was a blind buy for me. At first I smell a lot of the clove, I didn’t love it at first but once it settles I smell a lot more of the fruits, specifically blackcurrant. I absolutely adore that vanilla on the dry down, it’s delicious. Not sure I pick up on the bubblegum that everyone talks about but I love it still.

I have had compliments from so many people asking what I’m wearing, which doesn’t happen often for me. The projection is huge with this one.

I love this fragrance on me, it pulls very sweet and vanilla but the clove adds something really unique I haven’t smelt much of before. My first Mancera fragrance but definitely won’t be my last, I love this so much!

zind

I've wanted to try this for years and finally got a sample. I would probably love this on someone else, but now that I have it on it's unbearable, very cloying and nauseating.

It comes across as a pretty simple scent. I agree with the banana reference, it does have a hefty dose of artificial banana-candy to it. And tons of vanilla. Very sweet and girly. I really like it but I can't stomach to wear it.

scent.2go

Omg seriously? Grandma and funeral home? Its just too much, too far! I cant detect any grandma or funeral home. This is happy scent. Banana, vanilla, some marshmallows and flowers. Little bubblegummy, lomg lasting.

Kameronb24!

All I smell is the Angelica, tuberose, and some rose it smells green, it kinda smells like blue magic pressing oil, it’s very mature and old fashion smelling. Someone says it smells like something a grandma would wear to a funeral and I can’t unsmell it. It almost smells like when you first walk into a funeral home.

Andy&Andy

You know, it's a strange feeling after first sprey, it's like you fell into the pink pool with liquid Hubba-Bubba, and the same time-you found so beautiful natural smell of white flowers. It's a perfectly balanced parfum, so you can feel every note of this sweet bomb.

Lorilor

Excruciating nausea. I wore this only for a day and it almost turned me off from perfumes entirely. I just had to go more than a week without applying any fragrance because otherwise I would have puked. Straight out of the pits of hell.

saria_

sprayed this on my jacket three weeks ago and i can seriously still smell it.. 'nuff said!

dan99

I smell like fruity pebbles wearing this. so yeah its fun

Natalieex

This is a hybrid of Love don’t be shy and Angelique Noir. If you take the sweet creaminess of love and combine with the vanilla, angelica and pear from AN then mix in a heavy dose of sweet bubblegum tuberose then you have velvet vanilla.

I know it’s not listed but I pick up on a white chocolate note that I funnily enough also smell in love don’t be shy.

Overall if a loud feminine tuberose gourmand sounds appealing to you then I would recommend sampling this one but it’s not a safe blind buy.

Like all manceras this is an absolute powerhouse and only a couple of sprays is needed.

NoMilkToday

It's too dense. I tried it in a shop, liked it, not really had much time to try out many more similar ones, plus my husband loved it, so I got it, together with TMOV Andalusian soul, which i actually came in to get. They gave me some samples, among which was Coco vanilla, which I didn't try earlier, dismissing it because of the coconut (i like it, but i'm a bit of fed up with it), but in Coco Vanilla it's beautifully blended, the scent is much "brighter" than the Velvet one, plus sillage is better, as well as longevity. So in the end I was sorry I didn't get that one instead. I have a problem with too much tuberose and that's probably what bugs me when it settles. I tried layering it (i put Bvlgari au de Rouge on top of it) but it didn't work. They actually cancelled each other, all of a sudden i couldn't smell either of them that much.

Hazel_n

Beautiful skin scent. I don’t understand why it doesn’t project on me.
Lasts long but i can just catch weak whiffs from it.
Also, one day i smell biscuit, one day pear and/or bubblegum, it’s never the same.
Tuberose very shy and “fake”, but all in all the scent is so beautiful that i don’t care.
Opening is harsh but lasts a minute.
Are there different performing batches out there?

LizDee007

Smells similar to LDBS..not an exact dupe. Very girly and fun with whiffs of white floral (tuberose and jasmine) BALANCED by the orange, pear and vanilla (sweet notes) to smell reminiscent of bubblegum which I love about it. Blind buy for me and I’m happy. Definitely will repurchase and layer with similar notes.

Side note: Mancera are beastmode fragrances, so handle with care😊

lmnsvgz

This is a heady, a bit powdery tuberose vanilla scent. VERY STRONG. Smells a bit dated like all tuberose scents. I don't get the Love comparison.

Littlethingsweetpea

Smells like a less sweet and marshmallow version of love dont be shy. It is floral and smells like a fruity, vanilla, floral bubblegum. I adore this scent for every season. It projects well and lasts a long time on the skin and on clothes. People also like to smell this on me and give me compliments that I smell like sweet vanilla. Layer this with a vanilla lotion to amplify the vanilla smell. My signature fragrance until I can purchase Oriana by PDM.

kaitlynandres1999

the dry down of this is really heavenly, it kinda smells like lotus biscoff biscuits

CallMeT__

To me, this is 3 parts Love Don’t be Shy, 1 part Angelique Noire. It is VERY sweet yet smooth at the same time. Some might even find it too sweet as there’s not much freshness to contrast the sweet. Anyway, I never understood what people meant by bubblegum tuberose until I smelled this perfume, there is a literal bubblegum accord so a little caution for those who are not into gourmand profiles. There's also an oiliness to this fragrance but it quickly settles. The performance is formidable so a little goes a long way. The fragrance leans feminine but I suppose men can pull it off as well. I like the price point, and the fragrance works all year round except maybe in very hot conditions. I would repurchase, but I will caveat that by saying this wasn't love at first sniff, it grew on me. I rate it 8/10.

tiger_eyes_

I don't really get that Hubba Bubba pink bubble gum. Just a nauseating, cloying and unbearable sweetness with nothing to tone it down. Even thinking about it makes me sick.

jbsherry

This fragrance is so fun. It’s not elegant, but it’s not trying to be. It’s bright and girly. I find it delicious.

What I detect most is sugared pear and bubblegumy tuberose. While I get the comparisons to actual pink bubblegum, to me, the pear prevents it from translating to literal bubblegum.

I also get the comparisons to LDBS, they both are candied white florals. However, LDBS is more grapey, while VV is more bubblegum and has the prominent pear note.

I did blind buy this, as I was confident I would like it based on the notes and reviews. That said, unless you like pear and sugary sweet gourmands, I would recommend testing it first. This will be too sweet for some.

Candylover666

I decided to give this perfume a try because of all the comparisions to LDBS by Kilian and because I got in on a crazy discount.
I was a bit afraid of the tuberose note because it’s listed as really strong in this perfume and i’m not the biggest fan of tuberose.
When I first smelled it it gave me the same impression a very sweet car freshener gives or a very fancy salon shampoo.
I was not loving it at first spray because you get a lot of green in the first 10 minutes.
However after that it started smelling sweeter and fruitier, if you take a quick whiff it does smell like bubblegum.
The tuberose is tolerable in this, after the drydown you barely smell it.
This perfume is best mode, today I sprayed it at 7.25 am and can still smell it now at 5 pm.
So you can easily go 8 hours without respraying. Three sprays of this is probably enough, however I like to spray it at least 5 times lol.
I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it. It’s very strong but also very versatile.

JamesPawn

sweet, fruity, bubblegummy tuberouse scent

EG123

Maybe there is something wrong with my nose - but I get literally no sweetness from until it dries down. Then it’s just a whisper of sweetness. I don’t understand how people are getting crushed smarties. I agree with other users the opening is atrocious, really synthetic and has a prominent green note that I don’t like. This should be renamed to “Harsh and Synthetic.” I will keep testing and see if I change my mind or my nose suddenly does a 180. That happens sometimes.

EDIT: okay now that this has settled from shipping this is sweet and nice! i got complimented on it today and asked what I was wearing which is a first. The opening is still a bit rough but I find that with most perfumes of this genre and also mancera.

EDIT: One of my favourite scents now. It’s girly and sweet and honestly one of the best scents to layer with others in my opinion. I layered it with Olympea today and it’s do delicious and gourmand

Snifftastic

The reviews really made me pull the trigger on this one during the holidays and I think people are overcomplicating this scent.

It smells like powdered smarties IYKYK. It's a wonderful scent but you need to want that candy-like dense powdery goodness as a scent to buy this. Velvet Vanilla is a stunner in my eyes and actually LASTS which cannot be said for most fragrances on the market.

I wore this house hunting in December and could smell it the entire time which was amazing since it smells great to me and some of the houses didn't smell the best.

If you want to smell like powdered yumminess nab a bottle. But ignore the comments about "cat girls" and whatnot as this is definitely not what "that" would smell like (if that even has a scent?), haha.

tuberoses

I've only smelled two Mancera fragrances - Velvet Vanilla and Jardin Exclusif - and that was because I was given tiny samples of them. I can say I didn't like either, but I specially dislike this one. It smells like some sort of sweet rubbery whatever that I instantly want to wash off my arm. Unfortunately, washing this thing is not an option, because it's thick and greasy and oily and sticks around for what seems like a week. I tried to like this, which was why I gave it a second chance after trying it a few months ago. I won't be trying it anymore.

fairymeist

This smells more of bubblegum than bubblegum toy 2 from Moschino

JoyousOne

I should've read the reviews before spraying. The opening is rough. That might actually be putting it nicely. It does soften and smothen out. I dont get any adult smelling bubblegum. Im not sure what Tuberose smells like but I dont really see it as a note very often in scents I love. I found that this sits close to the skin. Nothing beast mode or really sweet. It gets powdery a tad during the drydown. That soon fades. This wasnt sweet enough for me. I like Prada Candy sweet. I like Fenty sweet. I like Baccarat Rouge 540 sweet. I like Hypnotic Poison sweet. I like Alien Goddess sweet. There is nothing oh la la about it. I would love to smell it on someone else. It doesn't turn your stomach but its nothing to write home about either. After an hour it smells a bit pungent. Is that Tuberose? After 2 hours I all of a sudden smelled a cloud of vanilla outside around me when the small squirt on my finger was NO WHERE near my face. Is she playing peek a boo and developing? I'd really love to smell this on someone else.

Ruba99

I’m little disappointed thought it would be very similar to my way by Armani but the vanilla is noticeable in it ,
Although well continue to wear it

Snifftastic

I usually make long reviews, so I'm going to keep this one simple.

This smells like crushed-up smarties to me and my partner and I'm not mad at it.

Velvet vanilla to me is a sweet scent with a nice density to it -- I blind-bought it and was not disappointed. I love smarties so this is a win-win for me.

Kdsosassy

Just got this and I came here especially to say that this is absolutely beautiful. I was slightly scared of this bubblegum synthetic smell that everyone spoke of, but this is so well blended to me! I was surprised to smell something so similar to LDBSE and Pin Up. But what distinguishes this from those is the green note—not sharp like it is in Sintra. It almost takes over the entire fragrance. Green & bubblegum, but not sweet. This is good, and I’m so happy I blind bought it. Hate that others had a bad experience with this, but I love it. I can see how it’s polarizing though. I wouldn’t describe it as a universal fragrance.

jas000n

I wanted to love this so much for the bubblegum smell, and the opening really does have that vibe! However 😓 ... It does that thing I've only experienced in vintage vanillas (Ciara, LouLou, Poison) where the deep dry-down smells almost like burning plastic. If you know what I mean by that, you probably won't like it 😆

whisperology

Creamy sweet bubblegum and candy. Addictive with monster projection and longevity. Seriously, spray max 3 times unless you want to suffocate people! Wore recently to a hockey game and when passing by a friend she said "it's YOU that smells so good!"

I get intense fruity candy (think those candy flavored Lip Smackers) first, then creamy pink bubblegum for the majority of the wear.

This is very playful. Despite its name the vanilla is not noticeable to me. Just bubblegummy sweetness in the best way. Wear to feel girly to the max. A cozy knit sweater and fuzzy socks, or a pink floral patterned dress all done up. Not office or everyday appropriate imo.

I'd group this with my gourmands, but it is not basic at all. It doesn't smell like an indistinguishable boring sweet. The florals round this out and eventually make this feel very soft (for the monster that it is). You need confidence to rock this one!

pinkfairygumdrop

i freakin love this. what a perfect spring/summer perfume. its wonderfully blended, not sharp at all, beautiful white florals and faint vanilla, I absolutely love this. Blind bought it and I am 100% satisfied. it smells lovely and way more expensive than what I paid for it. came brand new in box too. bought from Aurafragrance on ebay and paid like 75 bucks.....considering its going for $180 on the brand website and Saks, although it is pricey, it would have been worth it. this just smells soooo good. I cannot wait to wear this in the spring. its so feminine and delicious smelling. thrilled to have this in my collection now!!!!

Headache

Advaitaforever

The notes work harmoniously to blend into a warm, sweet, syrupy concoction of sticky bubblegum pink. Although the scent profile is very likable and projection is powerful, it isn't particularly complex or distinguished and could easily be mistaken for another candied orange blossom and vanilla accord from the many popular designers. This isn't a realistic tuberose, it's has the narcotic effect without the greeness. Altogether the scent reminds me of 90s pop icons, tanned bleached blondes, crop tops, sparkly pink lipgloss and autotuned singing.

Olesi

This is not probably worth blind buying. There is one note at the opening which chokes leading to instant headache. I expected a very smooth vanilla but no. The perfume itself needs alot of patience to sit on you before you start enjoying the settled scent. Velvet vanilla doesn't match the notes

Mysticmiah1970

This fragrance always scared me before but I finally bit the bullet and purchased it after getting it for a good price.First off the bat I smell citrus.pear and Angelica which gives a slight spicy element. As it dries down I still smell the fruits but the tuberose jasmine and other florals come out the tuberose is definitely more the dominant note. It’s bubblegummy I really like it.Comparing it to wild python which is another tuberose perfume from Mancera I find them different enough to warrant having both I’m a huge fan of tuberose tbh lol.
Wild python a creamy floral tuberose
Velvet vanilla a fruity bubblegummy tuberose
Very happy to have both in my collection
A very successful buy

callsomeoneyoulove

I've tried it accidentally with no expectations and my first thought was "Wow, bubblegum! What a misleading Velvet Vanilla name". After a year it was still popped up in memories. Wonderful scent. Finally in my collection.

Don't expect anything gold-special-worth-buying. Think of it as a bubblegum. If you like it at first, you won't regret your rash purchase.

MxchiiBich

I'll say this first. NOT, *NOT* A SAFE BLIND BUY. I was intrigued by a tiktok saying this is the creamiest vanilla, and I'm sold since I LOVE gourmand perfumes. And I didn't check fragrantica first lol. I straight up went and buy a 3ml decant of this.

Genuinely speaking, this does not leave a good impression to me at first. Because I don't really smell the vanilla. And the opening at first is so loud it choked me. But it dries down fine, smells more tuberose-y bubblegum, but I wish I could actually smell the vanilla and not too much of the jasmin. Although I do think the jasmine gives the creamy white floral profile, it would be better if its a little bit toned down. But anyways I've grown to like this. And for the price point, I would say this is good enough. After an hour or so it smells so good like idk how to explain, but it gives me the vibe bubbly cheerful kitty girl iykwim. Also Melanie Martinez?

Another thing I would like to talk about...is the PROJECTION and LONGEVITY. The projection of this perfume is MEGA. I shit you not. Remember I said I bought just a 3ml decant? Yeah I'm not even halfway through. Be careful with this juice, even 2 sprays is a LOT. This perfume attracts a LOT of attention for me. You'd smell like a walking bubblegum flower garden. As for the longevity, I experimented with this baby and went to the pool. I frolicked in the pool for a good two hours. I sorta forgot to wash my swimsuit and left it in the bucket at the shower, a day and a half or more later I picked up the swimsuit to toss in the washing machine and damn, the perfume is still pretty strong on it. Mind you the swimsuit is wet. The whole time. Wowzers

victoriabarretta

Much like many other Manceras, the opening is loud synthetic scariness.

But after about 30 minutes when it dries down, this is really nice! I am very picky with my gourmands and I don’t love anything too syrupy and I do enjoy this once it calms down.

The fruits keep it bright and from being too heavy and the angelica adds that little twist to make it stand out from other fruity gourmands.

I can definitely get LDBS from this, but LDBS is more powdery. I get a summery fruity banana vibe in the deep dry down too. Really pretty for Spring.

Samanthabdel

This is a fun scent. Shes giving Barbie. Bubblegum tuberose like the other reviews say…

If you have a decent size fragrance collection (>10 full bottles) you DO NOT need a full bottle of this. Its dumb strong and you’ll never go through a full bottle. Its kind of like the costume jewelry perfume in my collection… you wont wear her everyday and when you do its because youre feeling erratically playful, maybe a little bored with your others... Try to find a decant or a partial because a 4oz is going to go to waste.

Note- i work in corporate America and i would never wear more than 1 spray on the inside of my blouse to the office. It would 100% annoy coworkers because of the heavy florals. This shit is beat mode and its borderline offensive.

RobynCrabtree

I received this as a free sample with the order of another perfume sample, and I am not impressed. It smells jarring - the tuberose is overbearing and it smells of smoky incense (perhaps the mix of pink pepper and clove)? I would consider this a unisex scent with maybe even a slight masculine lean. Not what you would expect from the notes, name, and bottle; any vanilla was overpowered. Not a safe blind buy!

Gaz4

I dig it. Is it feminine? I suppose yes, but not in the extreme, I enjoy wearing it, and I prefer traditional masculine fragrances.

So what do I get from this: white florals, pear, slight bubblegum, little to no vanilla in the beginning, but big vanilla in the dry down and jasmine.

Overall it actually reminds me of Sicily by Mancera. Wherein with Sicily you get a big burst of citrus, then it dials back and showcases peach and jasmine. With velvet, it acts the same....big burst of pear, when it dials backyou get tuberose and jasmine.

Good longevity, sillage and projection is above average.

7.5/10

EndlessEuphoria

This is a more wearable LDBS. I love LDBS but I get nauseous when i smell. Velvet vanilla I get a bubble gum marshmallow scent this smells good good!

bren400

I can't with this! 🤢🤮 ZERO bubblegum! The reason I purchased a manufacturer's carded sample was because reviewers mentioned it smelled like bubblegum. ZERO bubblegum! INTOLERABLE! 😩 Oh, and I must add, though I do not like Kilian's Love Don't Be Shy, it smells WAAAAY better than this and should be considered an insult to compare the two! I purchased a manufacturer's sample vial of Moschino's Toy 2 Bubblegum specifically for the promising note🤞 I'll get back with results from that one in about a week.

EDIT: Moschino's Bubblegum smells EXACTLY like bubblegum! Though it only retains its scent for a few minutes, it's an original "Bubblegum" scent.

rinrinlovesrinrin

tuberose, vanilla, and a generous hidden note of bubblicious, bubble yum, hubba bubba bubbletape, etcetera. love it! 💗🍬🃏

thank you mancera!!!!! for creating one of my favorite perfumes ever and something sophisticated that really does smell like bubblegum. i am so glad that the name of this, velvet vanilla, peaked my interest and led me to the reviews because none of these notes would have spelled "bubblegum" otherwise. i can't believe this perfume exists.

gotta love the mancera fragrances house, creating unique concoctions that people will either gravitate to or run away from, but nevertheless they've got something for everyone. not generic, not blind buy safe, but when you find something you like from this house, it's hard to find similar fragrances.

top 3 favorites and a newly added signature, for personal reasons.

MrAbbas

Stunning sweet, fruity, bubblegummy tuberouse scent. The scent is very flirty and attention grabbing. A Beastmode scent that for sure would turn heads. It has hints to the opening on Armani My way intense, which I also love. I imagine it on a pretty girl or a 30s lady that wears makeup and is fashionista. Its a sexy scent and seductive. Feminine smelling true beast. Hight recommended. Will join my collection soon ;)

likesleet

this was kind of boring and i thought it would smell like coco violet or velvet haze. generic tuberose/vanilla/jasmine combo that i dislike

Fleurdecoco

SO addictive. Monster sillage and attention grabbing. She's a total dolly in a soft pink dress. Her skin is infused with vanilla. She's all about sensual white flowers. Mm, so dreamy.

Edit: I finally understand why people smell bubblegum, however I have other memories when it comes to this scent.

ash.nguyen6

Sweet, bubblegummy tuberose scent. Imagine combining Angelique Noire and Love by Killian together and you will get Velvet Vanilla. The angelica in the opening lingers for a while before it turns super sweet and bubblegummy. It’s a heavy scent so don’t go to crazy on the sprays. I really enjoy this one as I’m an fan of tuberose and white florals.

darlindol

Kind of punches you in the face upon the first spray and you'll be tempted to recoil and scrub it off, but if you wait a bit it calms down and is pretty nice. It has amazing sillage and a strong, sweet yet spicy scent. The downside for me is that the spiciness fades really quickly and then it becomes too sickeningly sweet and tuberose heavy. The tuberose is way too prevalent in this for me, but if you're a tuberose fiend, I'd jump on this one, because the quality is there.

Princessy

One of my favorite scent of all the time. It's a masterpiece mix between tuberose, extreme sweetness and marshmallow/bubblegum.
The performance is outstanding, as it is very long lasting and the sillage is great. The first blast of spray can be surprising but wait few minutes to discover

I always get a ton of compliment while wearing this one, and I can't stop smelling myself.

Dawnya7b

i have never left a such a negative review but... yuck!

Kuty22

Damn another blind buy 🙈
Waited more than 3 months to receive it
Love it ❤️❤️
It smells like bananas 🍌 and I'm in 😍

Nnazneen

I finally understand what the "bubblegum" tuberose smell is like, and frankly I hate it. It smells too sweet in a synthetic and cheap way. I grew up in south Asia with tuberoses everywhere, this does not smell true to that tuberose smell. In my opinion juicy couture edp captures the real tuberose smell better than this. Happy that I sampled this first, not worth it at all. And definitely not a safe blind buy.

Marie20707

It starts off with a lot of sweetness. I smell the pear, the mandarin orange and the black currant. Then the tuberose comes in heavy and I get the bubblegum smell that many have mentioned.

The dry down is the soft vanilla musk of many of the Mancera fragrances. This is a very girly scent. I can kind of see how some say this has a LDBS smell, I think they're referring to the dry down with the soft vanilla musk. Although, I like it, I don't love it.

Shaina87

Velvet Vanilla is a stunner! I love this one. It's a sweet bubblegumy, fruity and the slightest bit of floral on me. Think pink Hubba Bubba bubblegum. It's delicious! Perfect for spring and summer. Projection, longevity and sillage are great.

Edit/ This is slightly similar to Mancera Wild Python. But it's more of a fruity bubblegummy tuberose while Wild Python is more of a floral tuberose with jasmine, peach & osmanthus. And they're divine layered together!

Sully92

This is bubblegum in a bottle!
The name is misleading because this is first and foremost a tuberose fragrance, you get big bubblegummy tuberose with some pear and vanilla to sweeten it. It is very very sweet. I don't get any spicy notes at all. Maybe a hint of blackcurrant but that's it, this is just all bubblegum.
Mancera is great bang for your buck, you are getting huge performance for a really good price (for niche anyway). I feel like they are a really good 'starter niche' brand if you are moving over from designer. Some of them can be a tad synthetic, especially if you have sampled fragrances from higher end niche houses but that doesn't really bother me, they have so many great frags with fantastic performance.

This would be too cloying in high heat but summer nights or any other season would work fine. This is NOT an office safe fragrance (unless you hate your coworkers 😉) please don't wear this in enclosed spaces because you will choke people out.

Edemay

Finally got my nose on this and it smells like
a mish-mash of truth or dare and LDBS
The sweet bubblegumyness is there but its not overwhelming or accompanied with musk
its brighter and more citrusy
Then theres that slightly rubbery green tuberose quality too, luckily its not too overpowering
Theres another scent this reminds me of too - Petit Fracas
I think this is a fabulous buy if you want a sweet fun floral for summer, its comparable to so many other great scents plus its more affordable

TaniaClamp

Mancera's Velvet Vanilla is straight up vanilla and tuberose, very bubblegummy kind of scent. So if you like tuberose and if you like vanilla... this is for you :) It's the best tuberose/vanilla scent I've ever come across. Love it !! It's absolutely delicious, it's incredible, it's strong VERY VERY strong! "It's a beastmode scent" Be aware!!!! It starts of quit syntetic (like all Mancera does) but bare with it, it will come around :) the harsh, in your face start, will settle down to this sexie, vanilla tuberose pear angelica scent, soooooo good :)

My suggestion:
Don´t blindbuy, try before purchase !

MarcyAlexis

Mancera’s Velvet Vanilla is an absolutely beautiful fragrance in my opinion. I don’t get the bubble gum smell that a lot of people mention. On my skin I get a very sweet jammy tuberose scent and a smooth, well blended vanilla. The first few minutes I do get a scent that reminds me of buttercream icing, but after that it develops into a beautiful tuberose. This fragrance also leaves a beautiful scent trail behind you. The longevity is definitely there. I sprayed it on yesterday evening and could still smell the fragrance this morning. I think this could be a nice signature fragrance as well. Velvet Vanilla is supposed to be a unisex fragrance, but I feel it’s more feminine leaning. But maybe it’s just my body chemistry. I highly recommend this fragrance. It’s not a safe blind buy unless you love tuberose. So I recommend trying a sample before purchasing. I hope they never stop making this!

Eveningrose

This smells exactly like the original pink hubba bubba bubble gum!!!! It could be from the tuberose. I don’t see myself wearing this but if u are a fan on that bubble gummy scent go for this! Also I realized this is very similar to Givenchy l’interdit! Same bubble gummy tuberose but I like the one in Givenchy better ! This scent is a great layering scent with rose gourmand from Zara/ Mancera rose vanille

bluesunshine

Sickly sweet tuberose/vanilla/green scent but I like it every time I wear it. I don’t think Velvet V could be a sig. scent but more of a “I’m feeling sassy & girly today” scent. Lasts all day. 👍🏻

NoorbBelgium

This is definitely an uplifting fragrance. It's a sweet, vanilla-ish fragrance with a feeling of smelling a flower bouquet which is very pleasant. I even smell more of the tuberose rather than vanilla for some reason, I think the name is a bit misleading, because I smell a very bit of vanilla and more of the flowers and sweetness.

RedMartyr

When i had sampled this it had a pink peppermint bubblegum smell. I remember not liking it, but if i consider that pink bubblegum was what they were actually going for, then this is amazingly close to the actual smell of it. That being said; if you want to smell like pink bubblegum this is probably a great fragrance

Jerrythecat

I’m in love with this perfume. It lifts up my mood. This is holiday in a bottle and a journey back to memory lane.
For me it screams LA, the beach, Beverly Hills, yellow and white stripes and…Giorgio Beverly Hills. It is back!
It is a tuberose and a potent one. I have just sprayed it and I cannot smell any bubblegum as other mentioned or even vanilla. I will update later when I have reached the dried down.
It is a very niche scent that you cannot smell anywhere which is why it makes it so special. It also reminds me of the old Ambre Solaire oil in the 70’s.
It is a very oily juice so careful on clothes: spray on hair or chest only!
Presentation is top luxury: pouch to keep the bottle in the dark away from sunlight, magnetic cap but most of all the bottle and its colour. Amazing!!!
I managed to get 2 bottles of 125 ml for a little bit more than £100 which is a very good price. It was a blind buy and a very risqué one that I do not regret at all.
If you like strong tuberose and sweet fragrance, this is one for you. For me, it is going to be very addictive I think…

Update from previous post: I did not have the beast mode sillage that others mentioned, and the vanilla was not prominent as expected. Maybe because the bottle was new and oxygen needs to work its way in to perform its magic. We’ll see. Still a beautiful fragrance though.

MaiSuwinai

A bit too sweet for my style.
I have a full 60 ml. for sale in EU if anyone interested:)

wondervalley666

This reads as a white floral soap up close on my skin, and powdery sugar candy from a foot away-like smarties/sweet tarts/pez. The vanilla seems to grow in intensity for the first hour until I’m left with a predominately vanilla scent. I never get any distinctive tuberose here. I’d say mostly what I get is a blend of jasmine, rose, angelica, with 50% vanilla. It’s OK but I like Holidays a lot more. The vanilla works better with the flowers in Holidays than the blend here.

kkaattjjeess

Ok I now officially take back all the shit (and there was a lot) I have ever talked about this perfume (used to hate it when I tested it back in 2020). But 2 crazy (!) years later I randomly purchased the 120 ml bottle (having a tuberose kick) and I absolutely love it. Sweet creamy tuberose, might be sweeter than most people would prefer their white floral scents, but I like my scents a bit sickening.

PS If you want a very cheap alternative of this scent, try Angelica Sinensis by Jenny Glow.

staka01

Fruity bubblegum deliciousness. I get predominant tuberose with supporting florals, a bit powdery and it is sweet but there is a bit of spice perhaps from the pink pepper and angelica. It projects and lasts for hours. This is my first Mancera full bottle purchase and I am very happy with it.

SummerRose

This is my first Mancera perfume and I love it. The name Velvet Vanilla is quite misleading. This is a sweet white floral fragrance that leans feminine. I get the bubblegum tuberose, jasmine, neroli and the rose. There is a bit of spice which makes it interesting and I can pick up the vanilla on my skin. I don't get any of the fruity notes.

Unlike others who have reviewed, I don't get any of the synthetic notes or any sharpness in the opening. It is just a smooth, gorgeous, sweet, tuberose perfume. If you like Armani My Way, Givenchy L'interdit, Ralph Lauren Woman or the very new Banana Republic - Collezione Riservata Tuberose Overdose, then you may like this. This is not a dupe for those but it shares some similarity (tuberose) but still quite different if you know what I mean.

It was a blind buy for me but I did my research and I am so happy I got it. I know I tend to like bubblegum tuberose fragrances and I enjoy a bit of spice in my perfumes so I was able to take the chance. Although marketed as unisex, I don't think this leans unisex but if you are a Guy, I would say wear whatever you like.

Performance is above average and those around would be able to smell you. The longer it's on the skin, it's the more beautiful it becomes and the more the vanilla shines through. The dry down has a similar vibe to Prada Candy Night. I think it's good value for money and it will last a long time. A 120ml bottle will only need a few sprays so should go a long way.

Gosh

For me this is a dupe for Heeley Bubblegum chic and I actually find it more wearable. First 10-15 minutes were horrible, Velvet Vanilla smelled very synthetic, screechy chemical sweet bubble-gummy tuberose. After VV settles on skin, it smells a lot nicer, bit fresher, but still mainly sweet bubble-gummy tuberose, but the longer it wears, the better it smells. The bubblegum is still there, but less prominent, its more floral and pleasant. I also get a watery peach, but it's not in the notes. If that appeals to you, give it a proper skin test, I wouldn't recommend a blind buy and this is definitely not a fragrance you buy after 3 minutes of spraying on paper strip. Personally I find it too young. My Way and My Way Intense have also a bubblegum tuberose, but still have some sophistication and elegance. This, not so much or I just feel too old for this. I don't know. Maybe with the right outfit and occasion might be great, but I just can't think of any for me. I don't attend carnivals, fairs or little kids parties. Might be nice on a beach as well if you want to stand out among all the coconut frags. I'd give it a like, I wouldn't mind smelling it on someone, but for me it's a pass.. Also, it's nothing like Guerlains Angelique Noire.

Tinabill

Silky vanilla/tuberose.
It starts with a sharp, synthetic blast like most Manceras and Montales I’ve tried, but thankfully that goes away quickly. It then turns into a very smooth sweet tuberose and vanilla with a dusting of Angelica.
Truly beautiful and feels like you’re wearing a quality silk, or light velvet, dress.

mary jane

This to me is a green vanilla (the angelica is quite distinct to me) colored with some tuberose/bubble gum nuances. It begins very green but with time it mellows and the vanilla becomes more prominent on the skin with the tuberose feel never fading away. I was in the post office the other day and the woman that worked there complimented the scent and when I asked her how it smelled to her she immediately said vanilla. So my guess is that the projection of the perfume leans towards a more vanillic thing than you might think by smelling it on yourself.

Myru

Give this time! Initially I tried this and it had greenish plasticity notes that were screenchy and took away from any bubblegum sweetness. I was disappointed.

The next few times I wore this the sweetness started to develop!
Now it smells like a tuberose slightly bubblegum-ish ice cream!

Whenever I spray this I struggle to fully smell this after a minute or two but others say they can smell it a mile off!

I love sweet bubblegum vanilla scents and I’m just not loving this perfume like I thought I would. I find there’s something slightly off or lacking the wow factor! Still I’m going to give it more time.

I wouldn’t recommend blind buying!

marty15312

I had left this sample in my sample box for a while and not given it much attention. What a shame! To my surprise I actually really like this! I don’t find it screechy or brash at all (like some mancera/montale can be). To my nose it’s very very sweet though! (But I’m sensitive to sweet in perfume). I definitely get a bubble gum scent and the color that comes to mind is bright fuchsia pink. There is a subtle Angelica note so I suppose that’s why people compare it to angelique noire but no. No no no. Angelique noir is green, herbally and nowhere near this sweet. I’d say this is her much (much) younger cousin. It’s also more “tropical” than angelique noire. This is perfect for a beautiful spring or summer day. Though I’m not one for sweet scents I absolutely like this! Will hunt down a decant to try it some more.

Vickalicious

This is a nice tropical, fruity white floral fragrance. I mainly get tuberose and fruits. Despite the name, I don't get a ton of vanilla. I do see the similarities to M. Micallef Watch, but I get more vanilla in Watch, especially in the drydown. Unlike some of the other Mancera's this one didn't have the characteristic "beast mode" performance on me. This is really nice. I prefer Watch (which has more character and is more robust), but this is a good one.

hola gigi

Appealing floral even for some who don't "love" florals. Gives off a marshmallow vibe on the drydown & lasts all day. I don't detect any notes standing out more than others. It's just a mass appealing, well blended, easy reach scent without any particular wow factor.

CreamSunshine

I finally got around to testing Velvet Vanilla directly against Angelique Noire (pre-reformulation batch) since people like to say these two are the same. With VV on my left arm and AN on my right arm, I can confidently say these fragrances are absolutely nothing alike. VV opened up very banana-candy floral, while AN opened up herbal-green-vanilla. In the far dry down of each, AN is simply a beautiful vanilla with slight green-ness, and VV literally smells like tropical fruit punch in comparison to it. They both have a similar vanilla “texture” or creaminess to them, but definitely not even close in their actual scents. Hope that helps, if anyone was thinking about spending money based on thinking one fragrance was like the other.

2whit2quit

This is a very nice, playful rose and tuberose offering, but I think Wild Python is where it's at if you're looking for a darker tuberose dominant Mancera. Velvet Vanilla is sweet, fun, and smells like the color pink. It reminds me of the magenta pack of Extra chewing gum they had in the 90s. It's super juicy to my nose, keeping in mind all the fruit at the top. The vanilla does a great job of blending the florals together into a smooth creaminess.

tirput

Another misleading perfume name. If you’re expecting comforting vanilla, this might not be for you.

Velvet Vanilla opens with a burst of white floral with a hint of crushed leaves and bright citrus. I am actually baffled in a very good way. It has everything I want in white floral perfume. The tuberose here is the kind of tuberose that is made for fragrance, not a photorealistic one, so it’s easy to like and wear. The vanilla is not dominating. I can sense some spices as well. And, no, I don’t get the bubblegum (not that I expect it tho).

SPL is great. Versatile enough for both daytime and nighttime occasions. Overall a very pleasing fragrance. I am a big fan of its opening, but not the drydown. It becomes somewhat plasticky sweet on my skin.

Perfumer: Pierre Montale

subrikon

I love tuberose and this is straight up tuberose with some vanilla and fruit, it’s the sweet bubble gummy tuberose. This fragrance reminds me of my way (without the citrus) and l’interdît (with the vanilla) if you like my way or l’interdît you’ll love this. The projection is moderate and I use three sprays which lasts over 12 hours. Personally I would wear this all year long.

BOBOHU

I'm just disappointed by this fragrance. For anyone wondering how this smells, it has the same scent profile as My Way by GA but more synthetic. There is something about the scent that makes it overpowering and lowkey hurts my nose. Even the dry down was a let down. I really wanted to like this perfume but I just couldn't. I think white florals aren't my cup of tea. Overall, a huge let down.

Youssefmolly77

Im a man this smells so feminine but so bad i have a feminine fragrance that i love but this one is bad it has a very bad vibe that gives me headaches

fanntonyoscar

This fragrance is all about the tuberose. It’s a floral, not a vanilla. Who on earth comes up with these misleading names? I get no vanilla at all. None. It’s a tuberose bomb and a scrubber for me.

MaxieF

Don't get it twisted yall this is a white floral fragrance. Yes it's sweet and bubblegumish but it is more white floral and mature. If you love sweet soapy florals this is for you. Is this sweet? Yes. Is it gourmand? No. Because it smells like a Bouquet of flowers and I'm pretty sure most of us don't eat flowers. The sugar is not the star of the show. It smells like a FLORAL bubblegum.. Now that I'm more comfortable with florals I can wear this. My boyfriend did mention that it smells too mature. I don't personally mind. Beware though..it's very soapy which can honestly bother me sometimes. I'm really not the biggest fan of neroli. Unfortunately, neroli easily overpowers any fragrance for me.

Nichole FZA

I am a fan of tuberose and I thought I don't mind bubble gum until I got this one. The bubble gum smell is too strong on me, I can't detect the tuberose and blackcurrant and in fact I can't detect all the other notes, just a straight forward bubble gum. This is a full on beast mode perfume, I got people asking me what perfume I was wearing, they said it's a "happy" perfume, no...it's a "HAPPY" perfume, capital letters because it's loud haha

mariahedenstrom

Bubblegum tuberose yes! Just like the one in truth or dare madonna. The difference is that VV not only has the sweet creamy white florals (that are beautiful in TOD but also rlentless and headache inducing) VV has the tangy fruits and earthy green tones from the Angelica (I guess as I'm new to that note) plus a big dose of vanilla that bring the flowers and bubblegum sweetness down a notch grounding them. You have to have patience with this perfume and wait for the drown down that's when all the notes come together in a beautiful symphony that lasts all day. If you love truth or dare and your sad it's discontinued try this beauty chances are you'll LOVE it even more. For me VV has what TOD was missing and Im so happy I found it, its so unique and gorgeous.

Anitanita.

A gorgeous sweeten tuberose perfume .To me it smells like white flowers with sugar ,black currant is very prominent too .On the dry down it reminds me of Kilian Love don't be shy ( where Velvet vanilla is not a dupe but long distance cousin ). Very long lasting, beast mode projection .In general fantastic sweet fragrance for all occasion in my opinion.
It is not a bubble gum scen, but it has some bubble gummy qualities in the most grown up version. A must try, but don't blind buy it as it may be too much for some people.

Chavezb3

The opening is slightly green (probably from the Angelica), but it instantly turns very sweet. This is a slightly green, bubbly gummy tuberose with a touch of spice (clove) that remains throughout the whole longevity. The vanilla comes in until the dry down and honestly I wished the vanilla was a bit more prominent since the beginning. It’s a beautiful scent! The tuberose definitely gives a velvety feel to the fragrance and the vanilla gives it the finishing touch.

Jacquis

Wearing Velvet Vanilla in FL weather is asking for a sweet, sweet syrup for most of the year. It never gets cold enough for this perfume to transition and for the vanilla to emerge. Velvet Vanilla remains a linear, sweet syrup in this weather. Very thick, no transparency. I wear this on rainy days when I just want a sweet candy fragrance. Longevity and projection are impressive and I get compliments on it.

taragsmellzbomb

Smells like bubble gum and I’m not a fan of tuberose. Have to let it dry down first then the vanilla peaks through. I loved it once it dried.

allyasshi

Sweet bubble gum tuberose + creamy coconut vanilla and lil bit green/herbal notes. I'm glad someone actually mention the similarity with Mancera Holiday!! Because it does smell alike in terms of creamy coconut, kinda weird how there is no coconut notes in VV.

Tuberose in this perfume remind me of tuberose in Woman By RL another tuberose perfume I own. Don't get it wrong it doesn't smell similar I'm just comparing tuberose in both perfume. Both are sweet tuberose but tuberose in Woman are more mature and nutty creamy meanwhile in VV youthful and playful creamy vanilla tuberose

I don't think I'll purchase huge bottle as Im not a fan of tuberose and white floral perfume but it is a beautiful perfume!!

BG fragrance

I’m not a fan of that bubblegummy vibe. In the opening I can smell smth very greenish and It’s the angelica I guess. I was looking for a youthful well blended tuberose something like Armani My Way but all I get from velvet vanilla is some kind of childish artificial bubble gum smell. Not a fan!

faeryqueen

This perfume is not for people who aren’t a fan of loud and obnoxious perfumes. The name velvet vanilla might sound cute but the performance is not cute at all! This perfume really fills up a room. I am an oversprayer with all my perfumes (about 20+ sprays). For this one, I can only spray until 10! One time I wore it and my friend can’t breathe in the car HAHAHA this can be offending to some people with sensitive noses. I agree that this can be headache inducing for some. So, spray with caution depending on who you ate meeting. Bottom line is performance is amazing! I don’t know what’s wrong about the people who voted that the performance is weak lol.

For the scent, I really like sweet fragrances so I enjoy it from the opening to the dry down. Initial spray may be a bit sharp due to the citrusy notes but it goes away quickly on me. Then you get that bubblegummy nuance from the tuberose. As it dries down, the vanilla comes in and the scent becomes this creamy, cake icing-like smell and it has this soft powdery feeling to it like powdered sugar. I love it! Another friend of mine told me that I smell like marshmallows when I was wearing this. (Maybe this is why it is compared to LDBS?)

kerrylovesgourmand

This is alright. A tad screechy for me on it's own, but great as a layering base. Also amazing projection and longevity.

Nanalvzpink

This is a blind buy for me, all of my Mancera’s are so far.

Bae walked in the house and after 6 hours of lightly spraying it on my pulse points the comment was “ouuu it smells like bubble gum in here.”

Think of Dubble Bubble or Hubba Bubba Bubbletape Original Chewing Gum… remember the powder that they are coated with? Well add a small hint of vanilla to it and that’s what this perfume smells like to me. I always wanted a perfume that smelled like bubblegum and I finally got it. My perfume collection is almost complete.

This can be worn my a male or female, who wouldn’t want to smell like bubble gum!!!

This perfume has a small resemblance to a perfume that I do not like at all… only in the opening it reminds me of Pure Honey by Kim Kardashian. It must be the mandarin and musk.
I prefer this on my skin, because that’s when I get the vanilla but to get the real vanilla kick, you will have to wait a few hours.

A month I wore a jacket when I applied this perfume. The jacket smells like bubble gum STILL, and it has my entire closet smelling like bubble gum💖🤗

So worth it!

Only big problem is that my bottle leaked a little in transit, but that’s not the brands fault.

This is forever in my collection!

virna.medina

I was looking for a tuberose perfume and plan on buying Armani My Way but then I stumble into this. So I got a 5 ml decant. I have to agree with some of the review. This one projects so grande and last very long on my skin (10+ hours).

The scent profile seemed nice, but on my skin this turned out very synthetic, unlike Armani My Way (and even Gucci Bloom Nettare Fiori) which is very uplifting. The initial phase is okay i guess, but then after 1 minute this turned very plasticky and I had to put up with this for around 1+ hour before it become a bit better. One of the most cloying perfume I've ever sniff. I can't wait to scrub this off. Glad only purchase a decant instead of going for the full bottle. Although I still don't know what to do with the 5 ml decant - I just cant with this beast bubble-gummy-plasticky tuberose.

My recommendation: NEVER blindbuy this. Get yourself a sample before pulling the trigger

SiVic'sLady98

I love that it reminds me of Big Boy bubble gum, or even Bubble Tape, and other times it smells like an oversized cupcake. And it lasts forever!

Skinterpreter

I bought a full bottle of this and it was a blind buy. It's so delicious, though! This is exactly something I've been craving recently, a sweet bubblegumy tuberose. This is it. I've run out of the sample of my beloved Petit Fracas (it seems to be sold out everywhere) so I got this instead. It opens in a rather spicy, herbal way, but then goes sweet, pink bubblegum powder. I think this is mainly for those who love sweet, playful perfumes. So, so nice. :) It's so bubblegumy to my nose I don't even know what else to write as far as the notes goes. But yeah, it can be like this - 1. angelica (prominent) in the opening, then 2. mandarin, tuberose and vanilla. Yummy.

lorihollie

I just blind bought this and received a 120 ml bottle today (I got a pretty good deal), and you guys... I DON'T KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT IT. I don't think I like it? Or do I? Ugh, I'm not sure.

So my problem with Velvet Vanilla is that it smells too... ripe? You know when fruit is too ripe so it turnes rancid? Well basically this is tuberose turned rancid... And like many other has commented, I get this coconut-creaminess which I'm not a fan of...

And also, imo this is NOT a dupe of Love By Kilian. Love is such an amazing complicated and nuanced fragrance. Well Velvet Vanilla is just not on the same level unfortunately.

So what now? I'm not sure. I'm definitely giving it another chance and then I'll se if I'll sell it.

gildedmoon

full bottle of this juice and willing to swap, pm me :)

A few of my favorite perfumes are Givenchy Extravagant, Oros Pour Femme, Love Tuberose, Wild Python, Sedbury,,,it seems that I have a thing for Vanilla and Tuberose combined. I bought Velvet Vanilla for myself, sprayed it, spent about half a day with it on Christmas. Somewhere near the end of the day, my husband, who never ever had a negative thing to say about how I dress or how I smell ( we have been married 30 years), looks at me and tells me that he wants me to either throw this in the garbage or get rid of it in any other way. Confused, I asked why, and he proceeded to explain to me what he can smell about two feet away from me. He said that I smelled like someone took a bouquet of fresh tuberoses and threw them into a nearly full garbage bag, that has been filled with food and sweets leftovers, veggie peels and onions. I honestly could not smell any of that, I felt like it fairly resembles Givenchy Extravagant, and that is all I could smell, but my husband smelt something else, and now it makes me wonder how other people around me perceive some of my fragrances. No other perfume caused a negative reaction from my hubby, ever. I am not sure what I shall do with it, I may hold on to it and see if it changes in the summertime, but it is very cold here now, so maybe somehow it fails to bloom.
I def don't want to smell like a garbage bag, especially not to my husband. Funny thing is, once he pointed it out, I could clearly smell it on my arm, that specific garbage smell before you tie the bag off and take it outside.
I will say one thing though, Velvet Vanilla has zero to do with Kilian's Love. People need to get their noses checked. They are not even 10% similar, entirely different profiles.

proudoversprayer

Mancera’s Velvet Vanilla. The name says it all. It is a creamy vanilla with sweetness. Somehow the creaminess reminds me off Mancera’s Holidays with the creamy coconut.
Don’t get me wrong no cocunut in Velvet, but definetly creamy vanilla almost caramel. You also smell the florals vanilla and florals are trying to get the upperhand but in the drydown it’s a nice blend and harmony allthough it is a little synthetic but not to much.
The performance is like a Mancera it is strong and long lasting.

Mancera’s always make me somewhat nose blind so strong are they. But I’m somewhat fascinated by the brand with there nice heavy 120ml bottles and very strong performances.

If you look for a Vanilla scent this is maybe something for you. I think i prefer this one over Mancera roses vanille. Velvet is les sweeter.

mei_clavio

I bought this because I was looking for a nice vanilla scent. Don't blind buy. This makes me dizzy. Smells synthetic and cheap. Smells like hairspray.

GiBaby

I bought a sample of this and I’m so glad i didn’t blind buy the biggest size because I would have been very disappointed. Firstly, this is not as beastly and long lasting on my skin as so many have touted. I get a good 5 hours maybe. Now on to the fragrance. It’s not bad but it’s also not as amazing as I thought it would be. It’s opens up with a blast of white florals that comes off kind of mature to my nose. After a couple of minutes it settles down and the clove pulls extra strong on my skin. It takes about an hour or more to get to that bubblegum aspect if it. It is not until the deep dry down that I get any vanilla, and by that point the fragrance has turned into a skin scent and on its way out completely. I was expecting so much more☹️

Sweetasgodiva

Velvet Vanilla introduced itself to me with a big bouquet 💐 of white florals. It is not a shy, receding hello it is a full throated, loud hello that says I’m here and I wanna give you a hearty handshake. The white flowers persist while I wait for the bubblegum vibe that so many of the reviewers have talked about. I was not expecting my package so early so I had already perfumed. About a minute or two in and I am starting to get that bubble gum scent that led me to buy this perfume in the beginning. The introduction also had the pink pepper 🌶 peep out as well. I will spritz some more on and see what I get. I must confess that I am a chronic over sprayer. I am a perfume junkie and junkies always think more is better. With my perfume obsession on overdrive, I must admit that my perfume haul of
Velvet Vanilla, Whiff of a Waffle Cone, Montale Vanilla Cake, and Bois Doré Van Cleef & Arpels are only paltry appetizers for what will be the piece de resistance of my perfume haul, the holy grail of gourmands, Rojas Sweetie Aoud! One last confession before I go, I told myself when I obtained ‘Sweetie’ I would stop...if only for a month—I lied I want Bel Rebels Bubble gum. My son’s “birthday gift” The Gate’s Inside Out was shipped from Italy I might get by my next birthday in October 2022 lol. No, he’s a great son...anyone that buys you a $200 + bottle of juice is a keeper!

Question How much would you spend for juice? Of course there’s a caveat for wealthy people who may have no real qualms about the price. However, there could be some wealthy people who still would put a limit on how much they would spend on perfume. I wanted my holy grail so badly I paid for expedited shipping which pushed the price total close to $600. I have seen $1300 bottles of juice on recent searches!

Hello! I have to review velvet vanilla because ITS A 10/10 BEAST! This a perfume that is actually such a talented mix of BUBBLEGUM tuberose, angelica & pear in the top with CREAMY VANILLA base. Feminine leaning but super yummy smelling on a guy to according to reactions of this perfume on me. If the beginning to is to strong for you spray less and wait for the dry down 😍😍😍😍😍😍.

So if you ever smelt the Avon Skin So Soft cream from the early 2000s it has the vibe in the beginning. The dry down mixes 30% fruity pear bubblegum with 70 % vanilla SOOOO beast mode. I pair this Bath and Body Work Warm Vanilla Sugar cream & layer with JPG Classique Essence and it was a BUBBLEGUM CREAMY VANILLA BEAST. Literally everytime I wear this perfume I get compliments. I basically went out one day for 2 hours to the orthodontist and then another store and got 3 compliments from separate strangers I encountered and 1 from my sister. I wrote it down for one of the dental assistants. Another one asked if I was wearing cocoa butter. !!!!!! I WAS wearing a pretty colourful outfit too so maybe that caught people attention too but having that reaction through the masks is crazy. I was like wtf this is little too much for me!!!!! I also wear it to work and my girls love it too. I got it from Perfumeonline for like $95 or something and it came in 3 days ☺️☺️☺️. 125ml will last but I HAVE A DENT because I have been wearing it so much. XO

a_va

ADORE this perfume. To me it's like a scent of heaven.!!! Angelic scent.
Reminds me a little bit of Love dont't be shy.
Compliment getter for sure!!!!! Performs like a BEAST!!
!!!! 10/10 !!!!

Coco_fab

I already reviewed this but it just hit me while wearing this ! Velvet vanilla reminds me of a modern, sweeter Coco by Chanel. Not coco noir or coco Mademoiselle, the first Coco but the current formulation.

I think it’s the clove-Rose-amber combination that reminds me of Coco DNA

Sugarpoiso

Bought without testing. The opening to Velvet Vanilla reminded me of Les Notes Gourmandes Guimauve on initial spray mixed with a candy sweetness. I was bummed because they both have a green/herbal/medicinal note I'm not a fan of. It reminds me of 10 year old rosemary in an old kitchen cabinet. But luckily in Velvet Vanilla it slowly fades into the background as a subtle green note. The sweetness stays at the forefront and it's subtle powdery bubble gum with an equally subtle white floral note. I enjoy the Dry down alot and luckily it stays pretty much a candy sweet/powder/floral for the whole time. I get around 7 hours of wear and on me it stays really close the skin. It isn't beast mode on me but it's rare that a fragrance does that on my skin. I also don't find this to smell like Love in the slightest. They're both sweet and candy like but this is more a true bubble gum whereas Love is more complex and fruity pebbles/marshmallow/orange blossom

Claire brad

Tuberose is the lead player in this fragrance, not for me i prefer tuberose to be green.

I was hoping for more vanilla. If you like this fragrance check out franc boclet cocaine, if your brave enough to be obnoxious it might be for you. This is no shrinking violet by any means but pales into significance compared to cocaine, it’s quite nice but not for me, cocaine is this on steroids but extremely nauseating.

sawadeecara

A Sweet bubblegum tuberose fragrance! It reminds me of going to a flower shop and sniffing white flowers when I was a child. The initial spray is a little citrusy, but the vanilla and tuberose combination is lovely. The dry down reduces the sweetness, leaving a veil of vanilla and musk. I have a 1mL decant of this and I need a full bottle ASAP! 💐

nurism96

I blind bought it due to the strong positive opinions on youtube and fragrantica... but i was mistaken. I do get that "banana bublegum" scent everybody talks about, it is indeed kind of sweet but in my opinion the tuberose is way too strong, it completely fades all the beautiful sweet and delicate notes this perfume has. I am not a huge fan of tuberose, since it smells a little too "mature" for me. It reminded me of a perfume my grandma used to wear that contained a lot of jasmine... not for me honestly. The white florals in this ruined everything :( i really wanted to love it but i was so disappointed i had to sell it to somebody else. Next time I will be more careful with niche fragrances... never blind buying expensive brands again...

Coco_fab

Mancera’s Vevlet Vanilla is my first niche fragrance and I absolutely love it !

I wanted to ride on the niche perfume train because I was very courious! I was in the mood for a sweet scent that smelled like candy. First I tried Killians Love don’t be shy but on my skin it smelled like burned caramel and on the paper strip like marshmallow, which I absolutely loved !!! Unfortunately it did not work with my chemistry and also did not last on my skin.

So I found velvet vanilla and on first sniff I completely fell in love !!!!!! Velvet vanilla is banana bubblegum on my skin but still very sophisticated. The tuberose is very buttery and sweet in this one and in my opinion the best tuberose fragrance I’ve ever smelled !

It stays 10+ hours and I get delicious wafts of it throughout the day without reapplying!

I use this during the day or as a work day fragrance. It’s not deep and warm enough in my opinion to pull this off in the evening or for dates

csunny

I don’t know why but this reminds me of banana laffy taffy. I like it but now that I made that connection that’s all I smell. I kinda get the LDBS comparison. But they are also very different.

DarlingLovely

Sweet, candy-like opening with a creamy vanilla dry-down. I find it to be very pleasent.

violetscout

headache inducing and it's suffocating. I gave it a time but still very disappointed

Didylane

All I can say is that this is overhyped 🤨 my advice to you is please don’t blind buy it like me unless you have an option to return it.

Hessieg

Layer Mancera Velvet Vanilla with Reminiscence Vanille Santal. The sandalwood adds creaminess, smoothness and warmth, as well as tames down the sweetness. Glorious combo. Thank me later!!

Just recently tried this while having Love Don’t Be Shy, My Way, and a handful of other sweet white florals so it’s nothing that is exciting me. LDBS is sweeter and more gourmand, My Way is more bubblegum and smooth. There’s something about VV that is harsh and screechy to me and not worth personally adding to my collection when I have LDBS and my way, as well as other sweet white florals like I want choo, eau so sweet, si fiori, ect… this is nothing incredibly special and can easily be replaced by countless other less expensive offerings and I think is less appealing than even some of the LDBS dupes like Carmel Overdose, Sweet Addict, ect.

kiraj717

So I finally got this. People if you do not like sweet fragrances this is not for you. This is a sweet Bubblegum tuberose fragrance. Initial spray is slightly citrus but the vanilla and tuberose combo is nice. This is not for extreme hot weather. Definitely fall and winter vibes but I wear this to bed too. Dry down tones down the sweetness leaving a vanilla musk.

ladyjb

This smells nothing like Love. It is delicious though! Juicy fresh pear, sweet vanilla and a bit of jasmine. I usually can’t stand tuberose but it takes a backseat in Velvet Vanilla. I think would be a good ‘dumb reach’, and suitable for most situations and weather!

Andrina72

Sweet.. yes. Sickly sweet... not at all.

It's a fruity sweetness, toned down by a creamy vanilla floral. It's like having Hawaiian Punch poured over vanilla ice-cream IN a tropical flower garden.

The longevity and silage, as with most Mancera offerings, is above average. It's not a monster, but it's certainly no wall-flower.

It's a very universal fragrance that works all year round, except for maybe in the absolute hottest weather.

For the reasons stated above, it has fast become a favourite of mine and is definitely full-bottle-worthy.

Robynskye

Smells like sweet tarts. I’ll come back with full review after i wear for a week .

Imagine you're chewing bubblegum. You decide to spray some perfume and it accidentally gets in your mouth. You're now gagging, as it mixes with the taste of you gum and ruins it. This is what this smells like. Strong synthetic perfume and bubblegum. The notes never quite blend together. I had to sell it.

eau de cocoa butter

I was a little apprehensive to purchase Velvet Vanilla because of the sickly sweet references. Relief washed over me after testing it on my skin and a burst of the cavity sweet smell did NOT hit my nose. I own Pink Sugar and that is all the vulgar sweetness I need in my collection. Velvet Vanilla reminds me more of what I'd expect an It girl to smell like. It's a strong performer, but it's soft and balanced thanks to the sweetness. There is more to her than just the surface, her animalic side does not disappoint and plays well with the florals that are present. I do pick up a faint bubblegum scent but it's not in-your-face like when you open a pack of Juicy Fruit or Dubble Bubble. Overall, Velvet Vanilla is really nice and feels lux. It's pretty and feminine and I'll be spraying this very often!

hsiangchi.huang

Okay... I finally get the plastic-y, rubbery, synthetic, bubblegum tuberose everyone was talking about.

Opening: This is a SWEET SWEET SWEET, girly and almost childish vanilla fragrance. Vanilla plays a dominant role here, and so does pear. The pear is almost too ripe and may even be sweeter than the vanilla. You can a hint of angelica in the background, but it's quiet. All the playdoughy bubblegummy smell is in the beginning, it does get better in the dry-down.

Dry-down: I see where the comparison between this and Angelique Noire came from now. It's ~75% similar as Angelique Noire has more distinct angelica note and is WAY more refined. Velvet Vanilla is more synthetic and childish, although the overall notes composition is still beautiful.

AquaBaby5

I prefer this scent to Angelique noire, the Angelica note is very similar to me. Though if you dislike tuberose or white florals, you would likely be the opposite. I was scared to try this thinking I would dislike the “bubblegum” tuberose but it isn’t very bubble-gum like to me, I agree with others below that it is still definitely a beautiful white floral without just smelling candy-like. Now I want to smell Love by Killian to smell the differences there for myself.

Dreamdott

This is definitely high class bubblegum! When I purchased it online I knew I wanted a bubblegum scent and thats exactly what I got. I can understand why some people say it smells of banana but it translates to me as a strong straeberry bubblegum scent. I'm not disappointed and its so unique that if I ever do run out I would repurchase because its so different... a good different! It isn't a terribly artificial bubblegum. I get pear a bit mor le potent than most pear scents i have. I dont have too many tuberose fragrances but this is a good intro. Most of my favorite notes are in this so I expected great things! Its very sophisticated and even though it lasts forever its not too overpowering. Now I want bubblegum... I'm gonna go get some bubblegum...

Edit: so its a few months after and I've realized that even though this is an amazing perfume I would rather swap it with someone who would actually appreciate it more and wear it. I've been cleaning my perfume closet out and though this is very fun and cute im looking for fragrances I actually want to wear. For swap!

Nanners88

This fragrance has zero chill game lol. When I received this I wasn't as knowledgeable so it caught me off guard for sure. But now that I can better appreciate tuberose more I love this dearly. It is hot as all get up in the Midwest so I'll probably wait and update my thoughts in this once it's cooled down. So far, it is addicting but in the heat it will choke most out. It smells like a buttery, high class bubblegum/rich vanilla. The tuberose makes it warm and a little spicey.

RainbowGirl

This fragrance is exactly what I didn't know I wanted.

Sort of.

When I ordered this perfume, I was wanting a vanilla gourmand fragrance. I watched a review that described this as a "delicious vanilla", and since I can't resist an affordable delicious vanilla, I blind purchased... before reading the reviews here.

I know.. I know... dumb move.

The reviews here described this as a bubble gum tuberose, and I have always avoided those fragrances. I just don't want to smell like pink bubble gum!

Or so I thought.

Meanwhile, it's full on summer now in Texas, and instead of craving gourmand fragrances, I have been starting to crave strong white florals. The stronger the better. I have been testing a few, and thought to myself, I wish I could find a strong white floral, with a strong sweet vanilla.

Ha! Velvet Vanilla is that fragrance!

And as a bonus, I get a strong black currant note in the opening, which is one of my favorite fragrance notes.

I am in fragrance bliss right now. This is EXACTLY what I want to smell like today.

In the opening, I get the bubblegummy tuberose, black currant, and a hint of orange. Amazing.

I finally know what "bubblegum" tuberose smells like, and although it is bubblegummy, it is also... not.

It is not an "on the nose" girly bubble gum scent. It is a beautiful sweet velvety floral, that is reminecent of pink bubble gum, but still smells like you are wearing a lovely and sophisticated floral fragrance.

I never knew what the fragrance note angelica smelled like, and it's a... light green? Such a light hint of green. Very pretty, and I believe this note is what keeps this smelling floral garden, and not straight up in-your-face sweet bubble gum POW.

When this settles, I do get the sweet vanilla, a hint of pink pepper, and beautiful white florals, with the tuberose as the star. I get such a slight hint of spice, that must be the cloves, but this fragrance is so smoothly amalgamated, that it really is difficult to pick out each note at this stage.

Projection is perfect. I have a beautiful intoxicating yummy scent aura all around me, but not choking, or soapy, like some strong white florals can be.

I will probably be asleep before this dries down, but there's a very good possibility I will wear this to work tomorrow, so I may edit dry down and lasting details later.

Velvet Vanilla is a beautiful smooth sweet white floral vanilla, and my new love. 💘

You may ship me all your bottles.

Edited to add: The scent aura lasts about 4 hours for me.

Not sure how long this lasts as a skin scent, because I re-applyed as soon as I noticed I couldn't smell it around me anymore.

I also couldn't tell you what the drydown smells like, because I reapply before I get there.

I also realize that I own several fragrances with tuberose, and I never knew tuberose was what I was smelling. It's exciting to be able to pick out that white flower from other white flowers now. Made me want to pull out those fragrances, and try them all again, with my new tuberose sniffer... but then I accidently smelled the cap of my Gurlain L'Instant... and now it's magnolia and honey tonight, instead.

Maybe tomorrow. :) 😀

RedMartyr

All i can smell is pink bubblegum and something that irritates my nose. The same effect i get from Aoud Lemon Mint (however i do like the smell of Aoud Lemon mint)- my nose stings when i smell it and 1 minute later my nose is stuffy and i want to sneeze. i wonder what ingredient they are using that is causing these sort of things in many people. I guess i really got to test these Maceras before i buy them

Soraya

This layers BEAUTIFULLY with Armaf Club Dr Nuit Intense Woman.

Lovely scent, I get the bubblegum references but to me this is just a lovely sweet floral fruity scent, uncomplicated and pleasant.

beccastanton

This is absolutely gorgeous, a really gourmand bubblegum but not a young girl bubblegum I find it more mature. The tuberose is creamy and the vanilla is sweet and yummy, but i dont find it cloying at all as I find the cloves and pink pepper really ground it and balance it from becoming too cloying like some sweet scents can get. My nose doesn't pick up on the pear but I do get a nice dose of blackcurrant and Mandarin for the first few hours. It's a sexy creamy bubblegum and the dry down brings me a sweet powdery musk that I am obsessed with😍 so far this is my favourite Mancera! As for being unisex I do think this one leans very feminine though I do want to test it out on my husband when he's home again!

Once my sample of LDBS Kilian arrives I will return back to add my opinion between the 2 :)

DaniBear1121

Definitely expected something more high end smelling and beautiful from this. It's certainly strong, but the notes don't mesh at all for me. Maybe it's just not good on my skin, but this fragrance smacks me in the face with strong real vanilla (which I like), powdered sugar (?), heavy heavy bubble gum tuberose, and an incense type note (clove probably). If this was lighter on the tuberose and powdered sugar, or just omitted them altogether, I could see myself liking this. As it is, it is not for me despite the other glowing reviews here.

lovesick

pink apothecary potion slithering down eager gullet. frosted eyelashes batting in the face of the big bad wolf, frolicking to one's demise on gumdrop trails. roseate chiclets folded into meringue swirls and aquafaba mousse. fingers of the mischievous ingénue secretly dipping into fuchsia wedding cake batter, sitting on a countertop with ballet flats swaying back and forth against alabaster nylons. binging dragées in private, froly jordan almonds and love pearls spiraling down porcelain behind closed doors.

perplexingly sweet, with complex floral and fruity hues beyond the striking bubblegum accord. creamy tuberose with so much depth one can almost reach out and lap up its notes of buttercream and milk. at times, heady and reminiscent of runny, hot pink amoxicillin i drank with delight as a child; but mostly, soft hubba bubba gum gently coated in powdery sugar, along with the classic tutti-frutti flavor profile: kaleidoscopes of strawberry, banana, and pear intermingling to create the iconic sweetness already so deeply-ingrained in the confectionery collective unconscious, recognizable to all even if not nameable. beneath all the saccharine singing, into the drydown, hints of subdued spices become subtly apparent: cloves and angelica, with faint coos of gummy cinnamon. at the core of the entire composition remains a strong spine of warm, bright vanilla.
not medicinal, but still complex. not cloying, but still sticky sweet.

I tried this because I read the notes and it had angelica, pear, and vanilla. So, I thought that this could be a dupe (or in the same vibe) for my beloved Angelique Noire. And boy I was wrong. This is a juvenile perfume (Angelique Noire is elegance in a bottle). It definitely resembles a bumble gum in the best way. It's sweet but well balanced by the pink pepper and black currant. I cant smell the jasmine or neroli but the rose it's definitely there, sprinkled with a ton of sugar. The sillage is huge. My husband could smell it from ANOTHER room. I would just spray twice maximum to avoid choking the people around. Be sure you will be smelled. Sadly it's not for me.

Palmer Eldritch

I blind bought 'Velvet Vanilla' due to the birthday cake, bubble gum comments...But received something more complex instead!

This fragrance was a complete surprise on my skin. From first spray there's buttery, thick, velvety tuberose rounded by some tart fruits & a hint of pepper, but the herbal facets are prominent thanks to the angelica. These notes develop on a bed of sweet, whipped vanilla without disappearing, which is oh so SUBLIME!

Yes this definitely reminds me of Killian LDBS: they both have this retro scent of erasers and dolls from the 80's/90's. However there is an intricate greenness woven into this perfume not found in LDBS...it's similar to parsley!!

Even though this is not the gourmand I was expecting it to be, 'Velvet Vanilla' is a rich, creamy fragrance with an elaborate, green character...It's addicting & utterly captivating to say the least.
Highly recommend trying it out!

THE BEST mancera perfume so far for me 😍
Bubble gummy vanilla but not in the cheap way, is niche bubble gummy velvet Vanilla as it's name! So so beautiful and girly, unique, féminine, pink and simply gorgeous 🥰 I have never smelt anything like this before! Sweet but not sickly sweet! It is also a beast mode, is last more than roses vanille on my skin which I also looove❤
I was confused from the reviews if I have to blind buy it but is the best blind buy so far! I will for sure buy a backup perfume!! I think it is feminine but of course anyone wear whatever want, I also wear perfumes for men 🙃

G's Fragcollection

As much as it is a favorite in the fragrance community, this did not appeal to me. I am a huge lover of tuberose but this jasmine tuberose blend did not work for me and instead gave me a headache.
Tried adding orange oil and bergamot oil to it on separate occasions but it only worked for an hour or so then went back to the cloying head inducing scent. I was disappointed on how it settled on my skin and never got the vanilla.
The silage and performance are insane, I find it difficult to wear because of how cloying it is, but love it on other people

Unisex? 🤔

Velvet Vanilla is a Great scent for females. Ladies ignore this review

Gentlemen, this fragrance is very feminine. Although it is amazing on a woman it does not cut it for us. Once it settles all I get is a heavy dose of tuberose, rose, neroli, and jasmine with a tinge of vanilla on the dry down.

This fragrance smells extremely floral and I get love by Killian vibes from velvet vanilla as well as apogée by Louis Vuitton except there’s no vanilla note in apogée.

Gentleman don't blind buy this fragrance, sample it first. Again it is very pleasing on a test strip and in the air or on a female. I can’t see myself rocking this. It can get cloying, the tuberose mixed with the jasmine and neroli florals overpowers everything.

I understand fragrances vary from skin to skin and it’s all about personal preference. My review is for guys who want to blind buy this fragrance based on hype from YouTubers and my point is to try a decent first, before opting in by purchasing a full bottle like I did.

StinkyTinky

😍😍😍so wow...this is GORGEOUS!!!
Still not what I was expecting. Even though I watched/read every imaginable review for weeks before pulling the trigger. The bubble gum is real, but it feels much more “from nature” to me. As if it’s just a really freshly picked tuberose bouquet that’s firm and buttery and thick. All the edges are smooth. Nothing sharp here. I really went into this purchase thinking it was going to smell like bubble yum, birthday cake and bananas (um, hi, I’m here for it!) but the floral is a bigger player here for sure.
Soooo different from anything I have in my collection. The longer it sits on my skin the vanilla comes more to the forefront. It feels more like a dessert vanilla than the vanilla you get in a shalimar, cinema by ysl, addict- which are all inedible vanillas.
I’ll have to compare...has anyone given this a smell next to organza?

It’s also giving me maybe 40% snowfairy from lush

Edit- definitely not seeing any similarities with organza. Just tested and that one is definitely more of a raw heady indolic floral...
Velvet vanilla tantalizes your senses with sweetness like only bubblegum flowers can..

angelarge03

Same vibe as Kilian LDBS but much more floral. The jasmine and tuberose really stands out. Reminds me of my grandmother but in a good way-- it has a classic smell but doesn't smell old. I love it! Much more affordable than Kilian LDBS too. 😍😍😍

Riannevanderlaann

It took me an entire year to fall in love with this fragrance. I sampled it first and I was put off by the extreme bubblegummy tuberose vibe this gave off. I thought it smelled childish or too girly. After sampling it again about a month ago I fell in love. The tuberose in this is the highlight of the fragrance, it's not a sharp, green tuberose, but a beautiful (indeed) bubblegum, sweet and slightly creamy tuberose. I don't understand why I thought it was just an okay fragrance at first, because it smells the same to me but I love it now. It's definitely a beastmode fragrance and it projects quite a bit. I can smell it on me 10+ hours easy. It's a very strong fragrance so you have to apply lightly otherwise it might be headache inducing. I don't get any of the top notes, just tuberose, jasmine, vanilla and musk. Gorgeous!!!!

relaxteas

Bubblegum tuberose with a hint of banana (not in the notes) in the opening. Very sweet and synthetic smelling, but surprisingly, it has complexity. The drydown and sillage smells heavenly, smells like a creamy bubblegum vanilla. I can't stop sniffing myself when I have this on. The sillage and performance are insane, I easily get 8 hours at least. This one went from a hate to a love.

Scent: 9.5/10

CreamSunshine

I think this one is a bit of a chameleon, for sure. The first time I wore it, it was sweet bubblegum tuberose with a slightly dusty, bitter undertone. The second time I wore it, however, the first 15 minutes smelled exactly like banana Runts candy! And I was blown away, because I smelled absolutely no hint of artificial banana smell on the first wearing. But it was insanely banana-candy on the second wearing’s opening. After that, it eventually settled back down to bubblegum tuberose, and stayed that way.

I’m going to play the comparison game, in case that’s helpful to anyone. Velvet Vanilla is indeed similar to Love Don’t Be Shy, but it’s not a perfect dupe. LDBS smells like the fairy dust powder inside the wrapper of a square of pink bubblegum. VV smells similar, but it’s like a little of the sweetness was removed, and replaced with a bit of bitter floral note. I wore them at the same time, one on each arm, and found LDBS to be noticeably sweeter, though not by much.

katheryne_art

This is such a beautiful perfume! So soft, so comforting, sweet but not too sweet, very sunny, very natural smelling but still very complex and very feminine! I am actually very surprised that nobody said that this smells very similar to M. Micallef-Ylang in Gold! They have almost the same texture, but Ylang in Gold has definitely more ylang-ylang and Velvet Vanilla has more white florals... But I am trying them side by side right now and I find them pretty similar! However, I might like Velvet Vanilla even more than Ylang in Gold, but I'm not sure, it's very hard to choose 1. Both are gorgeous!
P.S. I am usually not a big fan of white florals, but in here it so well blended and so soft and you don't even think about the white florals! Love that!
