Sintra by Memo Paris is a Amber Floral fragrance for women and men. Sintra was launched in 2020. The nose behind this fragrance is Philippe Paparella-Paris. Top notes are Neroli, Petitgrain, Red Fruits and Bergamot; middle notes are Milk, Orange Blossom, Resins, Jasmine, Cinnamon and Rose; base notes are Marshamallow, Madagascar Vanilla, Caramel, Musk and Cedar.

"With Sintra, Memo explores the meanders of an enchanting landscape, not far from Lisbon, Portugal. A city and its palace emerging from a colourful dream, with soft shapes and a thousand hiding places, surrounded by lush vegetation and various species, lulled by the sound of the nearby sea and the inviting freshness of the fountains. The magic of childhood suddenly reawakened, its pastel colors, its comforting scents.

Around the corner from a palace, an unexpected rainforest. The heart of an absolute orange. The lace of an azulejo, the spiral of a hidden staircase, petitgrain after petitgrain after petitgrain...Welcoming visions everywhere. The glow of an absolute vanilla. A fountain whispers, a turret smiles, a garden greets you with its hands. A castle does a peacock wheel. A soft and colourful walk, a pause soon and the surprise of a sweet marshmallow confectionery. The present of childhood. Musks. Getting lost." -  a note from the brand.

Notes: Bergamot, Red Fruits, Petitgrain Oil, Neroli Orange flower Absolut, Jasmine, Milk, Cinnamon Bark Oil Madagascar, Rose Absolut, Balsam, Vanilla Madagascar, Caramel, Cedarwood, Fluffy Musks

Sintra is available as a 75ml Eau de Parfum.

When I first smelled this, I was like WOW! This is such a beautiful sweet orange blossom - I was obsessed with it! However, there is something in this perfume that is so screechy on the dry down. There's this horrible heaviness that completely takes over the orange blossom - a mixture of burnt caramel and BO! I'm saddened that the freshness of the orange blossom disappears. There is no neroli, or bergamot you just smell this weird vanilla, maybe it's the cinnamon idk what it is but the dry-down is horrible. Really sad about this fragrance, because I have a full bottle - I wear it to try and love it, but fail everytime. Please sample this properly before buying :(

Sintra is a strange fragrance, an odd mix of notes which I’m not entirely sure work together very well at all. The scent aims to combine the refreshing summery soapiness of white florals, with the sweet and lactonic gourmand elements which seems to be so popular in feminine fragrances these days.

Néroli and Orange Blossom are deployed in large amounts to create an intense white floral aura, alongside hints of jasmine and rose. An overwhelmingly sweet concoction of milk and caramel accords contrasts the florals with a sickly creamy facet, alongside copious amounts of vanilla. Marshmallow is not listed in the official notes, but I can understand why it’s voted for as it definitely has that fluffy musky undertone to it.

Overall I’m not a fan of this scent. The intensely lactonic sweetness is simply too much and doesn’t combine with the white florals well at all. In the end it comes across fat to sweet and messy, and would definitely give me a headache if I was to wear this in any sort of heat.

Is it unique ? Not really ? Do I like it enough to buy it ? No
This isn’t a beast mode fragrance . This reminds me of when you go to a fancy fusion bar where they have smoked cocktails … and you are drinking a fruity drink with a charred orange on the rim .. and you had too many and woke up with a little hang over . Smoky , citrus .. it’s more of a spring / summer scent .

VirgowithLeo

Reminds me of Oriana and Love Dont Be shy
There is that poo scent to it just like the other 2

Got a sample of this one in a recent order from my niche store. This is very strong. As a guy I couldn't pull this off at all. Objectively speaking, this is kind of nice. I'm not familiar with LDBS, so I can't do the comparison but what I get here mainly is neroli and fruit with a distinct marshmallow fluffiness. Fluffy is actually the perfect word for this fragrance. It's incredibly sweet however so in the warm weather it would probably be overwhelming. I'm definitely gifting it to a female friend of mine, though. Anyone like her, who's generally loud and wears colorful clothes, this will suit them very well (that's not pejorative by the way, I mean that in a good way).

Edit: I keep getting hints of root beer in there, too. Must be the vanilla. Interesting...

astralmonad870

Absolutely awful. My review is based on the 2 ml sample I received for free with another purchase. Despite the high quality neroli absolute oil being used the accord is sour and clashes with the lactonic accords being used. No hint whatsoever of caramel. Fragrance is highly subjective I say. I’m not simply edgy for disliking a fragrance that so many women seem to love

Sleekdecadence

I feel Ciara and Sintra Memo Paris are very similar! They are like sisters. Sintra is the younger one, a little shy and softer, Ciara is more complex and has better power in sillage and longevity. Ciara totally worth the price, very underestimated! The price gap between the two fragrances is ridiculous!

aviegravy

for some reason all i want to smell as of late is a marshmallowy, sweet, citrusy white floral. this one is lovely — very sweet, but balanced with a pleasing tartness (it’s not nearly as tart and zesty as something like unknown pleasures, but there’s enough piquantness to offset the otherwise candy sweet marshmallow-orange blossom). the orange blossom does that delicious youthful grape soda thing here, which i like. the opening is a little difficult for me — there is a sharp green petitgrain and a dusty, indolic, bad-breath facet. such is the way with orange blossom i suppose, even in its most gourmandified forms.

anduta

This needs a couple of minutes until the sharp notes calm down.
Afterwards it is beautiful.
A very sweet long lasting fragrance with good projection.

QueOndaGuera

To me it’s the warm weather equivalent to LDBS. The sugary sweet orange blossom is beautiful in both, but this has that green note to it that is a bit “harsh” in the cold weather but refreshing when it’s warm. In comparison LDBS is a little too sweet for the summer and could be a little cloying. I really enjoy both fragrances, but this one definitely lasts longer. Makes me feel pretty and comforted

The composition of “Sintra” got me mesmerized.
It’s not unique but it has something addictive , that keeps you in yearning of sniffing your wrist or the tester stripe. On the tester stripe is strong , sweet and intensive but on skin , it’s more soft , airy and less sweet.
It opens with the freshness of Bergamot and the mix of Red Fruits , followed by the green note of Petitgrain. The green note lasts about 5 minutes and then you get the Marshmallow , Neroli , Orange Blossom , Vanilla , Milk , Caramel , covered with the freshness of Bergamot and also , i detect some hints of Rose in the background. The balance between freshness and sweetness is on fleek. It’s very Long Lasting & Sillage is amazing , something between moderate & strong , perfect for this type of scent.
This can be worn all year round. In the hot summer days , i think half or one spray , will get the job done.
I imagine that in the summer nights , when you go out to drink something with your friends , this would be the perfect choice or when you goes on vacation and you are walking alongside the beach , clearing your mind , while the sun is going down and suddenly , you get whiffs of “Sintra” , perfect piece of puzzle , to turn it , into a more sublime moment. ✨✨✨
For me , it’s Unisex leaning feminine but i will rock this one in Spring & Summer , without hesitation(this comes from a picky person with fragrances overall , especially with spring/summer ones.I have always struggle to find the perfect scent for warmer seasons).
It’s more Unisex than “Erba Pura” , “Kirke” or “Vain & Naïve”.I listed this perfumes because they share some similarities with “Sintra’s” scent profile.I’m not able to compare “Sintra” with “Love Don’t Be Shy” , because i have never tested or smelled “LDBS”.
When i first tested “Sintra” , i got a deja vu , because it reminded me , the smell of the discontinued Avon strawberry body lotion(iykyk) and the strawberry bubblegums , from back in the days , when i was a kid. 🎈
For me , “Sintra” is in my top 5 and i have smelled & tested a lot of fragrances with different profiles.
Sorry for this long review but the way i’m feeling about “Sintra” , i really took it easy coulda written more!!
Sometimes , i think that i live & breathe for this bunch of feelings when i find a scent that i adore , as a perfume freak. ❤️

Pauline99

Absolutely love this! Projection and longevity are great as well! It is a clean, beautiful gourmand scent❤️
Love at first sniff!

Definitely prefer this to LDBS, not as cloying or linear and Sintra has a bit more depth. My fave neroli /orange blossom scent and one of hubby's but he prefers Ruby N Vanilla-Neroli. I've also layered Sintra with Bianco Latte and I'll try it with something coconutty in a few months :)

leyla_quiles

Eewww, just nope. Its too sharp. Pass

SILVU

To all South East Asian out there, this smells like MOONCAKE WITH REDBEAN PASTE stuffing. Immediately put a smile on my face and i can't stop sniffing it. I don't care what the notes are any more this is gorgeous and happiness in a bottle!

Scentsitivewoman05

If LDBS is pretty woman from rich family with quiet luxury life style, then Sintra is her older sister who alredy earn her stripes. It opens with greenish petitgrain and then it dries with initial citrus-y vibe. After 10 minutes-ish, the caramel and marshmallow comes through and it stays through the time it is on my skin. Like her little sister, she doesnt stay all night long, 5 hours and it started to dissapear completely. Eventhough it projects better than LDBS, it still not exceed arms length distance, not necessarily smelled one meter away. After all, it is pricey but since the projection is a little better than LDBS, and the petitgrain is an opener put a strong pioneer on the first spray, it is worth more than LDBS and more mature than LDBS.

ascetic sperm diet

Love it but completely disappointed by its persistence: it fades off almost immediately. For how much it costs, I wouldn't recommend buying it at all.

SalivatingSoul-stice

This smells very similar to New Bond St Bond No 9. It has the same gourmand feel. I like it.

gabygauthier

Layer it with Dolce & Gabbana Devotion… just TRUST ME 😍😍😍

wondervalley666

Remarkably similar to Pin Up & Cabaret (discontinued) Classique flankers by Gaultier. More oily and concentrated. This was on my list of scents to try for years. Finally blind bought a bottle. Didn’t expect them to smell so much alike even though they’re both “marshmallow scents.” I will need to test more to learn the differences. That note of bitter petitgrain that many reviewers dislike here is present in pin up as well, so if you dislike that note than don’t go buying pin up. I personally really like that note and find it gives character to the scent. LDBS was too airy and simplistic for me, though very nice, I just ended up liking pin up more.

This is my second Memo full bottle. I own Marfa as well. I hate to say it, but the Marfa bottle feels much more expensive and quality versus Sintra, even though Sintra is a pricier scent. The bottle is a bit mediocre, where as my Marfa will sit on display forever, long after I’ve used it up. I probably should have splurged on a different Memo scent to try, rather than buying something so similar to what I own. It’s a nice scent, I really like it! I just hoped it would be a bit more unique.

Update: decluttered. I thought this would be such a winner for me. Unfortunately I found the silage very weak and the scent requires an insane amount of overspraying. I’ll be sticking with my pin up and cabaret backup bottles, as they project stronger, last longer, and are a bit sweeter and nicer. My husband loves those and said Sintra smelled like them but way weaker and he could hardly tell I was wearing any perfume after the first hour.

girldeadbug

Obsessed with Andromeda’s Moon’s dupe of Memo Sintra. It is less green and more sweet and yummy but besides that keeps the scent profile so I think her take is better. And miles cheaper. Yay!

tangerun

A gourmet fantasy with a twist. The blast of petitgrain and orange blossom with some very distant, but still present berries and cedar, after you spray it, is very strong. After a few moments, it vanishes, leaving a sheer veil of bitterness. And then it's like you're in a Middle-Eastern sweets shop. It doesn't smell exactly like marshmallow to me, but more like a mix of sweets like tahini halva, locum and baklava. Very sugary, with a noticeable caramel. And then it combines with a very sweet note of a dry milk candy. That candy with light petitgrain and orange blossom lasts on me for around 10-12 hours, and on clothes for a few days. The milk candy note is prominent and exceptionally sweet.
Strangely, men around me usually found it more appealing, than women. And be careful, that if you wear clothes from natural wool or fur, it will blend with their smell, creating a distinctive animalistic aura around you. Personally, I love it, but I see why it might be disliked.
As of seasons, I think it performs ok during every weather and temperature. Very sweet in summer, a little sharp in winter, but nevertheless it is recognizable throughout the year and remains pleasant if you like it in general.

ginandrice

Personally, the lactonic and gourmand elements listed for Sintra aren't that prominent to my nose, especially not up front. To me it's predominantly a citrusy white-floral fragrance with a woody undertone. I also get a touch of gardenish greenness to it for the first hour or so.

Like rolling a Creme Savers orange hard candy around on your tongue while idling in a warm, sunny garden of flourishing neroli trees. Its sweetness is warm, fruity, and fairly natural-smelling.

It is somewhat similar to Love Don't Be Shy, but more of a cousin than a twin, IMO. Sintra is sweet, but in a more tangy and saturated way that distinguishes it from Love Don't Be Shy's pastel, powder-candy softness. The two grow closer over time, though, as Sintra's powdery, vanillic element does slowly come forward, transitioning its sunny, garden-grove sweetness into more of a soft, pastel-orange vibe.

yulikat

Very surprising since the reviews led me to believe it was more complex than it is. It smells exactly like the fruit jelly snacks that i grew up eating. They come in little plastic cups inside a large plastic jar. Very sweet and yummy. Oriana is way more powdery/soapy which is off putting at first but kind of addicting. I have not tried LDBS so i cant compare that one.

PaubMia

This is one of my absolute favorite fragrances. I love me a good milk marshmallow scent and although this can be close to LDBS, it isn't as sickly sweet. I also own Oriana, which I love but is definitely different. This also last ages on my clothes and skin! Orange Blossom is definitely present as well. Such a gorgeous and elegant fragrance!

dommymichelle

I so prefer this to LDBS & Oriana; yes there are similarities but this is a completely different fragrance. More unique, more complex, more interesting. It's not obvious. I love the green petigrain and néroli, and the resinous edge that doesn't let the marshmallow take over. It's what keeps it from being saccharine, and gives it some ... I don't know what other word to use besides edge? Super sophisticated, unexpected, and not too gourmand. Neroli milk, resinous vanilla, orange blossom... it's spectacular. A white floral you can wear in cold months. So beautiful.

le feu

Definitely reminds all mentioned fragrances but overly saturated with resins and milk tones. Pleasant but not my cup if tea. Can be a safe choice as s gift for Kilian’s LDBS

baddieb

I don’t have LDBS so I can’t say if it smells like it or not. I will say it’s a very cozy and sweet fragrance. I’m glad that the lactonic notes really pull through. I get caramel, marshmallow, mildly milky, with the white floral notes in the background. Wearable and delicious. I would not overspray because this projects intensely, 2 sprays are sufficient, but it’s very nice. I would try to layer Xerjoff Lira over this (one I have but don’t reach for since it smells a lot like Fruit Loops for me).

Lmuradian

Overall this smells like my grandmother making baklava in the kitchen. . With this rose water orange blossom milky trail. So good.

Alexafit

This is like soft orange blossom with tad marshmallow meets something a tad sour green in the beginning (absolutely love the opening) and then the dry down (two hours later) smells like church to me (must be the resin notes), which isn't bad but so different than the gourmand opening. I'm just thinking if I like the church smell dry down.
Edit: when I first smelled this I thought immediately of perdizione by nobile, and long behold I look at the notes of both and they literally have seven of the same exact notes at every stage of the scent. I just bought predizione and love it so much that I prefer it over sintra mostly because there's something sharper in sintra that isn't flowing with me. I do love sweet feminine marshmallow scents so I do want to try more of the memo line.

Thykes10

The opening is pretty sweet with the red fruits but the citrus starts to come through so it doesn't get to be too overwhelming. I do get some spices (cinnamon?) and there are some florals peeking through. I should have expected it to be sweet based on the notes but it's more sweet than I was expecting for some reason. I can see the similarities to LDBS, but this is less syrupy. The marshmallow is definitely present within the first 5 minutes on my skin. Good sillage and projection so don't overspray! I don't agree that this is classified as an "Amber Floral"- I get more of a Gourmand Floral vibe.

Youngkilla3000

I'm a guy and I like to rock this. Creamy jasmine tea is what this fragrance reminds me of. Somehow, this fragrance remind me of thai tea, the sweetness and the floral facet from the jasmine, really gives of a thai tea vibes. Don't overspray because this last 8+ hours easily with 3 sprays

Vivid Laser Eye Gawd

Smells like candy, fruit, and green growth. Projection and sillage is strong on me! I also get the marshmallow note! I have gotten many compliments wearing this

WitchQueen

0/10. A scrubber on me. At least one note was really bad, maybe the petitgrain wasn't blended well to work with my skin. Although petitgrain is in at least one of my favorites scents. I tried this scent several time and waited for the dry down to get rid of this note but it is present in the opening through the dry down.

notes-of-amber&jasmine

Smells like a greener Love Don't Be Shy

Forelsket

It's interesting: it's loud, hard to ignore, but it's also very tender and cozy.
It's extremely sweet, a neroli blast followed by a symphony of notes. Marshmallow is very present. I wear it when I need some comfort: I like to spray it on a cozy sweater that I can sniff throughout the day.
I wouldn't personally wear it regularly, as it is too sweet and too strong for me, but it is a very creative and pleasant fragrance.

AlyssaBrindley

Not a fan at all. This was a scrubber for me unfortunately, to the herbal opening and cloying fry down. My husband also strongly dislikes this and he is very easy to impress. Pass. Pass. Pass.

tarajane91

Sintra is definitely the green version of LDBS! However, unfortunately after a few wears I find this one much too bitter and sharp. I'm shocked to see milk and marshmallow notes in the pyramid - where were they?! They certainly weren't there for me.

RivvveGauche

Opens with a dead-on impression of Lolita Lempticka's L De Fleur De Corail--the salty lactonic note with a bright, breezy citrus and a dewy, grassy "green" somewhere in the background. While this stage is gorgeous and I adored it, the drydown feels....a tad generic, with heavy caramel and rich vanilla and not much else. Upscale, great longevity, and a beautiful perfume, but nothing that blew my doors off.

Kdsosassy

It’s ok. Green + a lot of LDBSE. This green isn’t my style as it leans grassy on me. Projection was great, but longevity was 4 hrs. I could get more if I oversprayed, but I wasn’t willing to risk it.

YuliaK

Extremely sweet (but not in a cheap way), headache inducing neroli bomb! Not a safe blind but. Also, don’t recommend wearing to the office or in confined spaces, people will hate you.

Caramel lady

Marshmallowey bright, sweet and creamy, my description sells it well because i would have thought I’d love something like this - and I don’t, it’s ok but not worth the price tag.

I pick up on Love Don’t Be Shy vibes from this. LDBS also reminds me of Orianna by PDM… and Orianna reminds me of Byredos Sundazed!
All 4 are perfumes in their own right as they are unique in nuance… so the above is just referring to the general likeness to my nose (due to similar notes) if you’re a minimalist like me.. you don’t need all 4.

It’s Orianna for me 💕

Boppidy

This smells relatively similar to Love Don’t Be Shy by Kilian to my nose, but something about it after a few minutes becomes…sour? Almost like a sour milk sort of smell; I thought maybe it was the sharper orange blossom mixed with the creamier notes, but someone below mentioned the petitgrain smells sour to them, so maybe that’s it.

Overall this is nice to begin with, but within about 10-15 minutes it just becomes unpleasant. I’m not sure if the sour milk smell settles as I had to wash this off!

susi_susina

Save yourself some money and get “Melodie” from Orientica. It’s 99% identical and last longer. I sprayed one on each arm and I ended up getting Melodie.

MichySpoonz

This is a very similar scent to Kilian’s Love Don’t Be Shy but in my opinion it’s more sophisticated, a little heavier on their neroli which I love but is not for everyone. As others have said it leans more green so it’s not as sickly sweet as LDBS

Sleekdecadence

Edit: To me it is very similar to Revlon Ciara

I don’t feel it as a gourmand at all. I find it noble and somehow it has vintage vibes. On me it’s mainly neroli and jasmine, rather flowery scent, I can’t feel the marshmallow or the milk.
From others comments I expected it to be gourmand but it’s smells like my granny’s deo spray from the 80s.

Adjr1087

You probably already heard this, but you need to wait for the dry down with this perfume to really see the beauty of it.
I hated the opening. It is a blast of sour, green, loud Petitgrain in your face. I couldn't understand how people could love this perfume! I gave it a while and continued with my day. And all of a sudden, I get this gorgeous GORGEOUS whiff of something sweet, fluffy, dreamy, creamy... Almost Candy like, but sophisticated. It was the dry down of this perfume, it is pure ART. Just like its bottle (I am obsessed with how this bottle looks, even though I only own a decant - for now!).
No one has mentioned this, but this is like a mix of Si Fiori (must be the Neroli) with the marshmallow goodness of Love Don't be Shy and hint of something fresh and clean. It is also a little bit musky, it is creamy and smells just like the colors of the bottle and the juice inside. I'm in love.

supersaiyan

I’ve found it hard to form an opinion on this one - the opening is the best part for me. I typically struggle with neroli but this one has a wonderfully sweet but bright quality with the marshmallow. The wear also smells good until the late dry-down where I get some weird chemical/synthetic smell. I’m unsure if I like this one more than LDBS - Love is more dense in the opening and is definitely more wintery to me, even though they smell similar. Love also doesn’t have that weird dry-down, but I prefer Sintra’s bright and sweet opening. Overall, I feel pretty confused - Sintra is teetering between OK and Like and Love for me.

j4yt33

Sickly sweet neroli bomb. Something in there makes it smell like you cooked chili pepper in sweet neroli-flavoured marshmallow milk. It could have the potential to make this relatively boring scent more interesting but instead of giving it a much needed edge, it just smells weird

Jojo789

I recently got a decant of Sintra. I have LDBS, Dossier's version, Juliana's version, and Guimauve Noel. I like Sintra. But not as much as I love LDBS. The green note in Sintra is very strong, but only for a brief time. Then, it settles into something similar to LDBS, but not as sweet. My favorite of all is actually Dossier's, surprisingly. I over-spray and it lasts all day. I think the green note in Sintra is what makes it less of a favorite for me. And it doesn't last as long as I would like. I get about 4 hours.

Candylover666

This is such an interesting perfume.
I’m confused at how much it’s being compared to Oriana and LDBS because I have all three and Sintra to me doesn’t smell like either of them, sure all of them have a strong orange blossom note but so do many other fragrances.
Sintra is it’s own perfume. It’s more aromatic and green than I usually prefer but it has enough sweet notes that makes this the perfect summer fragrance for me, it’s too fresh and citrusy for me to ever wear it in the cold months.
Is it worth 250$ +? No, but I was lucky enough that I got it on an amazing discount so I paid less than half of the original price.
The first spray is quite bitter and green but surprisingly it doesn’t bother me considering i’m a huge sweet gourmand enthusiast.
The petitgrain and bergamot are super strong in the first 10 minutes, after an hour it settles into a more sweet, citrusy orange blossom scent.
There’s something very childish and innocent about this perfume. It brings me back to my childhood and makes me think of summer afternoons, sitting in the grass and eating a popsicle, which is how this perfume smells to me. Also reminds me of old school kids shampoos.
It’s kinda funny to think that a perfume that smells so juvenile would be so costly but I guess it’s good that they make perfumes that cater to different preferences.

Sreza7

Wow this is…a challenging fragrance. The bottle design is so pretty but the scent itself it so bitter and hard to like. Grapey orange blossom, sour milk and bug spray with marshmallows.

Maddieh

I like this, i used to love it. After the first 1/3 of the bottle, i started notes the signature of the house or something. Like a heavy musk or some rotten greens. I love it as it is new but when the bottle sits for a few months i do not like it. I don't understand, cause I like all the other scents that is close to this one aswel. So sad.

AkaNeri

Sintra is much greener than LDBS, that green note is so loud that it doesn't allow to enjoy the fragrance, It's not citrusy green, it's bitter-green, like you chewed on something bitter and even though you can hear sweetness and fluffiness that's behind that green part, you can never actually reach that fluffy sweetness. It was a disappointment.

cats_eye

Love this fragrance but Velvet Vanilla by Mancera is similar and lasts longer..

BrumaJearl

I am so mad I let all the reviews complaining about the green opening keep me from buying this sooner. It's gently green for the first 10-15 minutes and since the fragrance will last like 10-12 hours you could look past it if you are sensitive to green notes. I thought I didn't use my LDBS because of the price but I see now that though I thought I really liked it, I guess I didn't. Sintra fixed what I didn't know was wrong with LDBS. It's a little more gentle (it's not weak & does project fantastically. It's just better blended), it's slightly less sweet but that makes a huge difference. Also the milk and cinnamon bring much needed depth. It's VERY close to LDBS. These differences are minute but they make a big impact on the likeability of this fragrance for me. I never knew I could love something so close to LDBS so much.

jaynella

I have LDBS, Guimauve de Nöel 31, and recently acquired Sintra. Sintra to me is very unisex, less sweet and very green compared to the other two. It is closer to Guimauve de Nöel 31 especially in the dry down but nothing like LDBS to me.

relaxteas

The petitgrain in the opening is very strong, green and bitter. But after it dries down, this becomes a creamy, orange blossom marshmallow! It is very similar to LDBS but more lactonic and green. I feel like it's less harsh if sprayed on skin. The scent trail of this is divine; you don't get the petitgrain in the scent trail, actually. Performance is beast mode, with enormous sillage! I sprayed one spray of this on a tester strip and put it down on my table, and I could smell the sillage of it whenever I walked by for days.

Scent: 9/10
Longevity: 10/10
Sillage: 10/10

Xela_529

This is definitely my favorite orange blossom forward fragrance. I usually struggle with orange blossom as I find it to be screechy, cloying, and somewhat juvenile… but here it’s done very well.

This is a well rounded blend due to the berries, marshmallow, and caramel. It has some depth. I would personally prefer this in fall and winter because it’s quite strong and hefty.

elakaysniff

WOW does this pack a punch. One spritz and the whole room smelled of it! Instant headache for me, however I can appreciate what the fragrance is trying to do. A very big, sweet, citrus floral. I hoped the dry down would calm it down a little but it didn't. Glad I paper tested this before spraying it on my skin. One for summer nights in the Mediterranean, just sadly not for me.

This fragrance is a powerhouse. It reminds me of Love don’t be shy, but more intense, rich, complex and luxurious. It has a lovely warmth to it that reminds me of a silky body oil, with a dusting of baby powder. There’s a very faint spice in the background, perhaps it’s the cinnamon note listed. One spray is enough to leave a gorgeous scent trail that lasts all day. I find LDBS a little to sweet for me, but this has just the right amount of sweetness. I’m honestly surprised by how much I love this, and might consider buying a full bottle.

Yaranimer

I love the dry down of this scent, but the opening is so off-putting I could never even think of buying a full-size.

Retro_Futurista

Petitgrain ruins this fragrance. It recalls a very stinky plant that grew in my backyard as a child. Very pissy and sharp. Where this could’ve been an elevated and sophisticated love don’t be shy, instead becomes a repulsive and pungent mess that’s underlying sweetness recalls something that could’ve been

mben086

Super sweet and cloying and i wanted to return.

However layering with MM by the fireplace is perfection! The smoky woodiness softens all the thick sweetness from sintra to make an amazing unique fragrance!

Update: once my nose got used to it, mow im addicted!! The secret is to spray far away and less, scent then wafts through the air and is thick, sweet, complex and majestic! Doesnt smell good with nose stuck up close but at a distance is gorgeous and a beast!

Leelee00

I love this. I'm super sensitive to animalistic musks and this doesn't bother me at all. It goes back and forth between creamy and citrusy. The opening is very green but after 30 mins the green settles and you're left with a very complex orange blossom and marshmallow. It dries down to a beautiful orange creamsicle. This fragrance is a powerhouse. I'd be careful with it bc 1-2 spritz is all it takes. I prefer it over LDBS. Sintra actually reminds me more of the LDBS intense and I couldn't say which I like more. I think having both is just fine.

The projection and silage make it worth the $ bc so many fragrances in this category fade too quickly and are in the same price range.

AnneKirby

I definitely get the comparison to Love don't be shy but this one goes south after a few minutes. A scrubber, just too animalic, musty and rubbery. The good thing is that it lasts. I tried scrubbing this off but it managed to stay the whole day, making me nauseous everytime I moved my hand that day. Imagine bad body odor that someone tried to conceal with a sweet perfume, just wrong

missviv

I don't hate it but I am pretty repulsed by this one. I've given an entire sample a chance over the course of several months and sadly, the more I try it, the more I dislike it. I don't mind loud, strong openings, but this one has something that is just too much for me, all I smell is weird orange (must be the petitgrain).

KumaraScents

The petitgrain in this really comes on strong right out of the gate, so prepare yourself for that slightly bitter green note mixed with the neroli and orange. Try it a few times...you may end up addicted to those first few minutes!

I have Oriana, but would not compare the two. Totally different vibes to me. I don't think owning one rules out the other. And, the sillage and projection on this is massive, so be careful you don't overspray and give yourself a headache.

If you love true orange blossom in all its complexity, you need to sample Sintra.

Hannahaija

Love Don't Be Shy by Kilian is one of my all time favourite perfumes and I can see some resemblance to this in Sintra. However, LDBS is more fluffy and soft whereas Sintra hits you in the face with an overpowering sharp sweetness that burns my nose a little.

The scent trail of this is nice, but up close, it's way too cloying. I will stick to my very much loved LDBS.

Stampinator

Initially, I was repulsed by this fragrance - BUT, I drained a sample and wanted more... So I got a large decant to give it a good go. It grew on me - it smells like a rich, beautiful, middle-eastern or Indian orange blossom dessert. The petitgrain, fresh greenness and bitting neroli really balance it out. It's really strong, beautiful, interesting, attractive, and addictive, I get a nostalgic hit of milk bottle lollies (or vanilla marshmallows) that mingle with the orange blossom... It's a good time, attention-seeking, show stopper and I love it! Happy I persevered.

Denu

At first the sharp green notes took me by surprise but after a couple of wears I’ve grown to really enjoy this element of the opening. The petitgrain and resin notes are prominent on me for the first couple of hours and then a marshmallow, slightly lactonic sweetness starts to emerge. I really enjoy wearing this. The projection isn’t huge on my skin so I can comfortably wear Sintra in the office and enjoy it without it being too much for others.

I visited Sintra a few years ago and love the beautiful tile artwork on this bottle too.

mben086

White floral, fluffy, semisweet, and total beastmode, much better in the air than upclose, a spray behind the knees is perfect!

If anyone in NZ interested I have a nearly full bottle, happy to consider swaps, pm me

Rosie_Scent_56

I am so surprised by the reviews for this fragrance. I love it so much, I think it's the perfect blend of the sweet orange blossom and fluffy musk with more green and natural notes. To me this smells like a true orange blossom dessert. It smells natural and not too sickly sweet. I don't personally enjoy the scent of LDBS or Oriana. They are too sickly sweet. This is sweet and delicious, but still light and airy. For me this is a big performer for the first two hours, but settles into a more subtle light sweet scent that is not over powering. It definitely lasts all day on me, but becomes more of a skin scent. For me this is the perfect sweet orange blossom scent out there. It's dynamic, it definitely not linear, sweet, but not over barring. It's what I wanted LDBS and Oriana to be.

aaronmy

Super sweet and a little fruity in the opening. I wasn't aware this was a women's fragrance until I sprayed this and recognized. This smells similar to the most entrancing fragrance for a woman (to my nose), Love don't be shy by Killian. This one is a little more bright, and much sweeter. The marshmallow is a lot more pronounced, and the projection of this scent is strong. It smells very nice in the air, but I prefer Love over this. I like how Love was done, where it smells very alluring and seductive, but this is more in your face.

mad_mal

I tried this over and over. Checking to see if it'll eventually work on me, but no. On my skin it's so sharp, screechy and smells like newly bought/made rubber slippers from the market. I was sad. I don't know if it's just the tester I bought, though I'm pretty sure that the seller's bottles were all authentic. Pass.

Mother Nurgle

It’s not that it’s sickly sweet. It’s sweet, it’s gourmand, and yes - I somehow find it sickening, but not for those reasons. Can’t quite put my finger on it, but some note doesn’t agree with me. Memo Paris seems to be hit or miss for me. I either love them or can’t stand them.

cutcutnat

I think the citrus is the most prominent note. This perfume is overhyped and smells nothing like the Kilian Love don't be shy and I don't understand people who keep comparing the two. Also, it doesn't last long.

subtlyyours

Once again blown away by the mixed reviews vs what this scent is to my nose. To my nose this is a girly SWEET marshmallow through and through with the tiniest hint of musk in the dry down. Im new to the world of fragrance, but never quite understood what it meant “to round out” a fragrance but the musk does exactly that to this scent.
I never in a million years would’ve ever expected myself to desire more musk in a fragrance, as my skin tends to bring musk and cedar to the forefront of most perfumes (all versace), but for the first time I can honestly say that in order for this to be a wearable fragrance for me personally, imma need a lil more musk or oud or something to pull me back from the marshmallow cloud im floating in as my glossy pink lips sip sweetened orange blossom milk out of a mason jar. Im wearing a baby blue gingham dress, my blonde hair in loose ringlets except for the braided halo tied in a bow with silk ribbon. Thinking of possibly layering with Intitio Musk Therapy because as much as I’d love to be the girl in the clouds… this perfume has made me realize that just ain’t me. I blame it on the marshmallow… i only eat them burnt and gooey on a s’more, i don’t know why i thought my nose would feel any different. They’re just too sweet. This is a long shot, but if you like peeps you might like this.
Or you could be one of the people that say this is a unisex musky citrus with a little milk. You’ll never know unless you try.
Was torn between this or Tamarindo and kind of wish i chose to try the latter of the two.

UPDATE:
My initial review was last night when I first received the fragrance. I did not smell any “green” whatsoever, but holy moly today that petitgrain is loud sharp and green in the opening. The first five minutes is borderline painful because of it. However, when the sweet marshmallow returned it was such a relief. Turns out this fragrance really is as beautiful as everyone says. ive come to realize this is a warm weather STUNNER! I received my sample in early february, so initially it was 30° ish outside while i was sampling. However, one random warmish day above 60° and WOW just wow. This is so sweet creamy and addictive in warmer temperatures it took it from a 6/10 to a solid 8.5 and totally full bottle worthy. I’m actually kinda really obsessed. Oh and don’t even get me started on the combo of this layered with BR540 it’s lethally perfect

Bergamet

Holy Moses this is long lasting for a neroli/ orange blossom based fragrance. The orange blossom note actually lasts a good six hours (double what you usually get) - after that you are left with a milky, pillowy sweet marshmallow and vanilla skin scent that's extremely delicious despite appearing perhaps a touch juvenile. Up until the dry down it's quite unisex, but once you reach the final stages it becomes decidedly feminine. I love it for what it is, I'm a fan of neroli and gourmand notes but I'm as yet unsure if I would wear it myself.

Controlledbyscent31

Love dont be shy, prada paradoxe , paco fame and this are all in the same family at least my nose smells that.

blue84HB

This smells exactly like Flintstones vitamins from when I was a kid.

silthrill

This is it. This is the perfume that converted me to orange blossom. I’ve been on a yearlong hunt because I loved the idea of orange blossom and couldn’t find anything I actually liked. If you smell legitimate orange blossoms (or use orange blossom water in cooking), you know that orange blossoms are equal parts bright and bitter. This fragrance does what I haven’t found in other orange blossom fragrances- it maintains the integrity of the flower and makes sure it keeps centre stage. While I see the resemblance with LDBS and Oriana, I feel like they are marshmallow perfumes with a little touch of orange blossom, whereas this one is orange blossom with a touch of marshmallow. LDBS and Oriana are crowd pleasers; Sintra doesn’t care what people think. It’s a masterpiece. Yes this is sweet, but it won’t induce diabetes like the other two. It’s non-linear- there are green notes that dance around with the flowers- this makes it suitable year round. There is depth, there is a “je ne sais quoi” component that smells unlike anything else. Instantly went to my top 5.

LALDN

I wanted to love this so badly but just couldn’t get past the super bitter green notes at the opening. They really stick around on my skin as well unfortunately. If it disappeared quickly I could get beyond it and enjoy the other notes, but nope. Too intensely green for me.

lmnsvgz

The neroli gives it the initial blast of citrus, something a bit bitter (I guess the bergamot as well?). The scent itself is similar to LDBS, both smell like pink Orbit gum combined with white flowers. The sweetness is well-balanced, I don't get too much from anything. A cup of sweetened milk with white flowers and a citrus slice.

PuppyFever

Love Don't be Shy is an overly sweet orange creamsicle with marshmallows. If you really want to compare the two you should know that Sintra is relatively green and floral rather than syrupy-fruity like the latter. I personally don't enjoy the bitter opening of this fragrance at all. For the price it's worth I would prefer a smooth experience from beginning to end. For a solid shot at the LDBS comparison, I recommend Oriana from Parfums de Marly or maybe Velvet Vanilla from Mancera.

BougieGirlShops

While I gave Killian Love Don't Be Shy a scathing review, I actually quite like Sintra very much. The major difference is the resins and cedar that adds a depth and balances out the candy-like sweetness of the orange blossom.

To me, it is literally like I layered LDBS with a woody fragrance which fair enough it's listed as "reminds me of" but because some of the notes are similar, not because it's a dupe by any means.

For those that like the heart of LDBS but found it cloying like I did, this is a really good alternative.

MrDollars&Scents

On me this is a wild roller coaster ride of a scent opens green with neroli and bergamot then goes into a creamy orange blossom with a buttery undertone ( at this stage I struggle with it) then mellows into a caramel, marshmallows type confection,I honestly hated this the first time ,I wore it,but after two more tries it became a love for me..

bluesunshine

Sintra is so good! Im set with 2-3 sprays which radiates a beautiful scent bubble for about 8 hours. The petit grain & bergamot in the opening set Sintra apart from other similar scents I’ve tried. This is a complex, multi layered floral gourmand. Dries down to a lactonic caramel desert. It’s hard to dislike this one, it’s so pretty & up lifting.

okamikiera

Cotton candy orange blossom metaphor. This opens with a snap of greenness I love, truly neroli, and dries down somewhat like that rubbery marshmallow smell of Libre Intense. Kind of synthetic, but I still really like it-- it’s convincingly creamy, a sherbert unlike any other orange blossom perfume. This is extremely sweet, having that “fruity pebbles” accord a lot of people identify, and definitely more gourmand than floral. Still, it’s light and comforting enough to avoid being cloying like white florals with honey. Lasts a long time, too. If not full bottle worthy (Peridizone Nobile 1942 is more subtle, and cheaper) this is definitely one I’ll want a decant of.

CCClydes

Just ordered a full bottle after using my entire sample in a day or two. It’s so good! I also own LDBS and although similar Sintra does stand alone especially after the LDBS reform. Sintra is quite sweet and could be cloying in hot/humid climate! I’m really enjoying it this winter!

thatsoutherngalval

So this was an enemies to lovers romance for sure! Ordered a sample online and at first the green note almost made me think I wouldn't like this fragrance....ALMOST. The strength of that green note fades rather quickly and then blends out into this beautiful warm, marshmallow orange blossom that's absolutely divine. It's absolutely stunning. It's definitely too warm and cozy for my climate in the summer (hot, humid, south) so I can't imagine it being a summertime fragrance -- only fall and winter for me -- but maybe for someone in a cooler environment. It's absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend ordering a sample and giving it some time before making a decision because I've grown to love everything about it including the green note. I smelled this and Oriana side by side and I do not think they smell the same at all other than that they are both warm and sweet. I do not own LDBS and have only smelled it on a blotter at the fragrance counter so I can't comment on that one, but I'm ordering a sample before I purchase a full bottle of this because I want to do a side-by-side before I purchase a full bottle. I absolutely love Sintra though, it smells elegant and feminine (doesn't read masculine to me at all), and I will totally buy a full bottle unless LDBS blows me away.

Update: Got in my sample of LDBS from Killian and initially I don't think they smell much alike at all, it's in the dry down that they start smelling similar -- after a few hours LDBS starts smelling like a weaker version of Sintra. But the top notes and mid notes of LDBS aren't really that similar to me. I understand why people would compare the two scents -- It just takes LDBS a lot longer to get there and Sintra has much better longevity and projection. If you don't mind the green note at the top of Sintra, I definitely think it's the superior fragrance in the dry down. Plus they end up being the around the same price if you order Sintra from Twisted Lily with a 15% off code. (They send you a discount on a full bottle whenever you purchase samples.) I just purchased a full bottle of Sintra and absolutely cannot wait for it to get here! I find myself not wanting to wear anything else b/c I only want to smell this all the time. It's more than likely going to end up being my Winter signature scent. I can understand why people feel like owning both Sintra and LDBS is redundant, but it's obvious that there are enough differences for people to feel so strongly towards one the other. For better or worse, it's the green note in Sintra that makes or breaks this fragrance. Try them both!

Update 2: Did a side-by-side of Sintra/LDBS/Oriana

Here's my thoughts:

Sintra – the green note in the top sets it apart for better or worse, the dry down is almost exactly the same as LDBS with more longevity and projection. It also moves through the top/mid-notes really quickly (the sharpness of the green note is gone in 10minutes for me, and after 20 it’s so stunning) so you get the beautiful dry down for the bulk of your wear.

LDBS – The top and mid notes aren’t my favorite, the dry down is where it’s at with this fragrance but it takes FOREVER to get there. If you smell a blotter of Sintra/LDBS after 10-24 hours its almost exact, Sintra is just stronger. You either love the journey of this fragrance or you don’t.

Oriana – It’s the delicate and powdery version of the dry down of both Sintra/LDBS. It is not as distinct. I understand why the comparison but I feel like the similarity floats in the background weaving in and out through it as opposed to being the main show.

At the end of the day Sintra is my pick. Oriana would be my second choice. I can’t imagine myself ever buying LDBS. But these are all beautiful in very different ways, and although I don’t necessarily think they are redundant, I can understand why someone would only want one of these in their collection. I think if you like one of them, definitely sample all three next to each other before deciding which one you prefer. I can see why they are all popular and I think one of these could fit almost any nose/personality.

Princessy

I had very high expectations as Love Don't Be Shy by Kilian is my favorite fragrance and orange blossom is my favorite note. I understand the comparison with LDBS, but they are very very different. LDBS is waay sweeter, stronger and marshmallow centered.

On my skin Sintra have a very sharp/green opening and the dry drown is kind of medicinal. Also, as a true gourmand lovers, Sintra is not enough sweet for my liking, even if it dries down into a milky orange blossom scent. I really wanted to fall in love with Sintra, and i've tried many times but I really don't like Sintra as it's too green and sharp for my liking.

Sydxoxo

Everyone claims this smells like LDBS but I personally dont think so. LDBS is much better, I was not a fan of Sintra. It smells like a bathroom air freshener.

Esna

Cut some weeds from a very beautiful French garden, sauté in Échieré butter, some orange zest then top off with plenty of white powdered sugar. Before it completely cools down, pour in a beautiful azulejo printed bottle. Nice but not for me!

gafew

This perfume is like a combination of three sleeping giants who take their turn waking up and show their presence. You'll first notice the green notes from neroli and petitgrain with some milkyness in the background. Then, the milkyness and marshmallow will dominate the white flower, making it more delicious as time goes by. And last but not least, vanilla, caramel and musk will join forces and give you the sweet sensation you expect from those notes (a little cloying if oversprayed). Sometimes when white flowers pop out much, you'll find yourself suffocating a bit since it has the piercing quality (or at least in my experience). However, when the milk and marshmallow decide to wake up, it'll be luscious, alluring and easily-loved. Stays on 10+ hours but fades away quicker when exposed to the Sun and humidity.

likesleet

light white florals. neroli and some lactonicness that comes up later. this isn't similar to LDBS to me because there isn't the orange from LDBS that creates its signature orangesicle accord. this is more floral and the marshmallow doesn't really combine or connect with the orange blossom.

iszzieanna

Very similar to LDBS, Oriana and Sundazed. This is like a hybrid of all three and redundant to own. Has a sharper, more greener quality throughout the fragrance. The fizzy notes from Oriana and Sundazed are present, and the fuzzy, marshmallowy qualities from LDBS are here. The musk is present in the dry down in Sintra. If the milky note was more present, the resins, marshmallow instead of the orange blossom, petitgrain and the solar notes, this would be worth buying. Good but redundant

valk

Oof. I cannot get past the sharp opening of Sintra. I am starting to believe that, while I love citrus and oranges, I am sensitive to dominant top Neroli. Probably an amazing perfume for another person. Cheers to those of you who enjoy this one!

Melissaluvsperfume

My sintra is in the new clear bottle and I’m thoroughly disappointed in the performance of it. It is quite strong for the first hour then it’s just a skin scent that I have to put my nose up to to smell it. Very sad because it’s such a beautiful scent. I also can not return it, Neiman Marcus’ return policy sucks. Has anyone else noticed this horrible performance issue?

ScentedSoul

There are lots of ideas about how Sintra smells and since I'm here I'm gonna put my two cents in. I do agree that the marshmallow, orange blossom, and green notes are the key players in this beautiful scent. I do agree it smells like LDBS, Oriana, LDBS Extreme etc. however it has some subtle differences that makes it stand out on its own and in my opinion, it stands on the top of the pile.

Overall, Sintra's notes are giving me grape soda oozing out of a cold can that was just popped open. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy because I haven't seen anyone else say this but that's what I'm getting.... and its gooooood!😁

stefani valini

I love this, it's very similar to LDBS. This one is tiny bit fresher, more aromatic while LDBS is more sweet, bubble gum. The opening is more citrusy/ green. You don't need both. I think I prefer this one

AryanasPerfumes

Smells like Love by Kilian, but with sharp bitter green in it, not my cup of tea

SailorV

At first, Sintra smells like a classic neroli cologne with green, herbal accents from the petitgrain. But after a short time it unveils its true self: A delightfully sweet blend of orange blossom, vanilla, caramel and marshmallow. It's true that this is in the same family as Kilian's Love Don't be Shy and its many sister scents.

I compared LDBS and Sintra directly. The main differences to me are that Sintra is a little less sweet and warm, a tad fresher. The neroli and petitgrain surely play a big role in that. But the red fruits note is also crucial, it smells like wild strawberries to me and pushes the overall scent more into a pink bubblegum direction, while the gourmand aspects of LDBS lean more caramelized. The longer the two perfumes dry down, the closer to each other they get.

I personally prefer my candied orange blossom to be warm, caramelly and free of greenery, so my favorite is still LDBS. Nevertheless this is certainly a loveable, intense, delicious scent that any fan of this genre should try.

BGBG

Very strange fragrance. First notes I pick are orange blossom and caramel. Then come the galbanum, and green bitter notes. Then there is something dusty that leans toward wet concrete. Not my style at all. Very special. Don't understand the hype. Especially the hype of Max Forti. None of the fragrances he hyped that I have tried have been a wow for me! To the contrary.

Disa_17

Sintra Memo Paris
This is gorgeous, beautiful, uniquely subtle and seductive. So perfectly blended, a tiny, tiny bit sweet but definitely not sickly. Nothing really stands out, except….I get the note of Sandalwood though it’s not mentioned. I really love this fragrance. I highly recommend 🥰
9/10 All round.

candi_n_spice

This feels like the love child of a few frags that I love, so of course I love it! I'm certainly getting the same orange blossom marshmallow floral vibe from LDBS and Oriana. It also reminds me quite a bit of the OG 2002 Dior Addict, which I loved, but has since been reformulated. Then there's a bit of Lira with the cinnamon, sweetness, and florals. Add a dash of milk, and you have Sintra! It is very sweet, so be warned if that's not your taste. My husband always says that's appropriate for me, because I'm very sweet. 😉 It does still seem a bit more sophisticated and high quality than something like Pink Sugar or the Juicy frags, etc. I was afraid it might be too heavy to try in the warm weather, but it actually feels a bit sultry.

likesleet

fresh, spicy & slightly sweet. my fav memo frag i've smelled

Adog22

Sweet fruity floral and slightly warm. Projects very well

zeelenas

Sintra is so deliciously unique.
I see the similarity to Killian LDBS but the petitgrain and milk adds a fresh, green, lactonic vibe to it that sets it apart.
It almost smells like the freshness of white sap that comes out of snapped plant stems.
Much less sweet and more elegant than LDBS.
The dry down smells sweeter once the petitgrain and neroli fades.

If you don't like green/bitter or orange blossom/neroli notes, stay away from this fragrance.

KarolaFragrance

It has sth very powdery and at the same time very herbal in the opening. More similar to Reminiscence Guimauve than Killian's LDBS.

cherubi rubi

Indeed the opening to mid is like Anamcara, a burst of very intensely sweet tart juicy concentrated candied orange with green bitterness.

Then this changes into something that’s harder for me to describe, but it didn’t wow me like the opening.

In short, I’m in love with A.
But if you aren’t committed yet, give this a try if you’re looking for a sweet tart orange and orange blossom scent.

7/10-great opening, moderate strength

Kdiprinzio

I purchased this fragrance during the winter of 2022. I tried it out during the winter, and found Sintra challenging and at first a bit nauseating, overly sweet, but also bitter. I am revisiting now during the summer and wow, this is a very different experience in warmer weather! There is bitter greenness in the opening, which I enjoy, and it's drying down to something warm, balmy, cozy..edible and delicious. I'll revisit this review as I wear Sintra over this summer.

The_Empress_Lilith

I fell in love with this fragrance after trying a tester. My first thought was, "Yup. Definitely pastéis de nata amidst the lush forestry in Sintra".
My skin seems to really love musk notes, and this dries down to a wonderfully sweet, milky musk. Sweet, but not juvenile. I bought a bottle for myself, and it's my most indulgent fragrance.

stardenise16

This smells more green than marshmallow and sweet to me.

ingeneuxo

-Impressive. Sintra by Memo bears similarity to a 2 niche fragrances I rather enjoy.
-Shares a 40% similar scent profile to Anamcara by Dusita.
-Both are green scents with a fresh and a sweet aspect to it. While Anamcara is overall more fresh and retains its green profile throughout, Sintra dries down to a candy bomb.

-The second scent that comes to mind would be: Sundazed by Byredo.
-Shares a 50% similar scent profile to Sundazed.
-Both are niche candy bombs with cotton-candy dry-downs. While Sintra leans green, Sundazed leans citrus. Both are happy summer scents though.
-Would make an excellent gift for anyone who enjoys sweet scents from niche houses. (-)

*Update*
-Dries down very candy-sweet.
-I'd say this is more suited for early-spring where one might be longing for summer, or late autumn, when enough this has lapsed between summer's end; that one would start missing summer again.
-Not a scent to be worn in humid, tropical environments. You'd run the risk of suffocating those around you. It's super cloying in the drydown. (-)

I'm not sure how I feel about this one.

I bought it blindly, just to experiment and maybe have something more unorthodox to wear in the summer, even if this leans more on the feminine side. I think it's perfectly wearable by a more confident guy.

It is very strong, it's quality, but there is something that just bothers me. It's so sweet, it's the mix of fruity sweetness and sugary sweetness combined, that makes me feel almost like I'm sniffing one of those Koolaid powder multi-fruit drinks. It's so much, that it overpowers the rest of the perfume.

Which is a pity, deep bellow there is very nice, very realistic flower base all the absolute flower essences are there, but they can barely fight the sugary sweetness to come out and shine. The jasmine, the rose, even the all the orange variances that can be a bit sharp at times are just smothered underneath.

On my skin, I honestly don't get any of the resins or woods at all. It's purely sweet-floral type of scent and it doesn't really evolve all that much after applying. A couple of hours later it will smell almost the exact same way.

The silage is pleasant but not my thing. I feel like if they cut the sweetness in half and kick the woods up a bit it would've been a great addition to my collection, but now it feels generic and uninspiring.

Honeysuckle85

I tried a sample and once sprayed on my arm, it almost put me off.. strange green and bitter smell, extremely sweet almost cloying. I let it sit for a while and forgot about it. After 30 minutes or so, I kept getting these beautiful whiffs... I smelled my arm and oh my goodness! I smelled the most delicious, milky and caramel dry down with floral and fruits I’ve never experienced. I know love don’t be shy, Oriana etc.. Sintra has an outstanding quality, it definitely tells you more. If you can simply get over the first spray you will discover a wonderful scent. My significant other commented on how beautifully I smelled too.
The longevity is crazy on me, after two showers it’s still on my arm and it lingers for days on clothes. It's almost a bit too long lasting for my taste 😑

kaie

The dry down is great but for the first 10-20 mins all i get is a odd bitter sharp floral that i can’t stand.

asg6

This one is so..confusingly addictive. I don’t get really get the “sweet” accords, any sweetness comes across to me as the lingering syrupy tinge of your average vanilla essence. Primarily I get a slightly green, resinous warm musk that has an indescribable sharpness to it. It is a bizarre scent to my nose both on my skin and on paper. The dry down is pretty beautiful and I can’t stop smelling, but I still can’t decide for the life of me whether I actually like this. Memo scents on me also don’t seem to have the lasting power I’d expect from niche prices.

This smells like my childhood. Reminds me of being a kid and going to carnivals, circuses, them parks, etc. Bubblegum, ice cream, candy, marshmallows, cotton candy, caramel. It smells exactly like the candy store in the small town I grew up in. I would buy a full bottle but I'm not paying $300 for it. If you like this one I recommend trying Acqua di Parma Colonia Note IV.

handkmommy

To me,this smells like LDBS in the bubblegum prominence and sweetness. But, I definitely smell leather/ or what some would say smells like rubber. It’s definitely a dirty smell. Hmmm, sweet rubber. Might be a vibe for someone. It also projects pretty strongly with the two accords coming together for some reason. I don’t really know what to think of it. I think the leather dies down. But you gotta want to smell like rubber bubblegum. Again, a vibe.

clairesque

Sintra was a huge disappointment to me. I seem to be only picking up the notes in the note profile that I dislike, and none of the ones I like. This fragrance is not lactonic at all and I don't get any rose. The neroli is extremely prominent, moreso than the orange blossom. Overall it smells like a bitter, medicinal version of Love Don't Be Shy. Powdery sweet white florals; candy-like but with strong green and resinous accords that give it that medicinal quality. I personally don't like the combo at all; however this could easily be a favorite for those who enjoy this kind of unique fragrance that blends green notes with heavy sweetness.

WifeyPink

I received my sample today along with quite a few MFK samples.. so far I much prefer Memos Sintra ❤ I definitely see the LDBS but there's something more, I'm not getting the sharpness in this either that others have mentioned. So far it seems to be full bottle worthy, unless it takes a bad turn or the longevity is crap.

ladyjb

This smelt lovely on paper but wow. It does NOT work on my skin. I’ve never had a fragrance smell so remotely different, it smells like sour milk, neroli, rubber and chemicals. So confused! Nothing like LDBS.

magicalcat

I have LDBS and Oriana, so I was curious about Sintra supposedly being very similar to these fragrances. Sintra is in the same realm as the aforementioned, though it's more similar to Oriana. The opening to Sintra is more woody than both of these. I'd say a key difference between the 3 is that where LDBS goes sweet, Oriana goes fruity and Sintra goes milky while keeping a green element. I don't get the grape note that some people are talking about. To me, it's caramel, orange blossom, milk, marshmallow and green.

Unfortunately, there's a sharpness in Sintra that I don't like. I'll be giving it a few more chances before I make up my mind, but I don't see this being a full bottle in my collection. A shame, since I love the Portuguese pattens on the bottle. Hammyt's description of this fragrance simultaneously being both sweet and bitter while not really falling on either side is the perfect way to describe it.

Performance is pretty decent and certainly better than LDBS. I get about 5 hours on my skin.

Start with a sample and see how it goes. This isn't a safe blind buy. Whether you prefer LDBS, Oriana or Sintra all depends on your tastes. None of them are "bad" fragrances in my opinion, but they're all different.

Ele0267

Sooo, having Oriana on one wrist and Sintra on the other I really don't think they are similar, at least on my skin they are not.
Oriana is much sweeter and creamier in the opening while Sintra is greener and sharper.
Oriana then becomes a mix of orange blossom and marshmallow while in Sintra I pick up the neroli much more than anything else.
I find Oriana sweet in the dry down, while Sintra greener sweet.
That said, I enjoy them both :)

HeathHawthorne

I smell candied oranges, sweetened milk, and something woody. Much more powerful than I anticipated. Did 3 sprays and I think 2 would have done the job all day, so there is SOME value in its longevity. I feel like MEMO could really dominate if they would trim the price tags by about 30%. I just don't smell 300 dollars with this one. Lovely and sweet, but overpriced, especially for 75ml.

Before_Sunrise

Solar Blossom is so much more refined and rounder, if you didn't enjoy the harsh opening of Sintra you will fall in love with SB.

fragrancen00biez

Wayyy too sweet!! I am surprised no one said it has salty mineral notes. It's weird because the scent at least on my skin seems it's going somewhere but than there is this smell of like a rock picked out of a mineral bath in the middle of this that seems to just kill something in this scent before it has started to really get good. It really is like a mineral rock surrounded around snow cone syrup. I can see the appeal, but it just doesn't work for me. I had my sister try it because idk maybe it would be different and she had the same opinion as me. I'm not a fragrance wiz and I'm still learning what I like or don't like but I just didn't find this a fun sweet scent like other scents I've enjoyed

Hershey1

This smells exactly like Love Don’t Be Shy from Killian. Which in turn smells exactly like Carmel Overdose from BeLayered. For real no difference at all. Well I take that back. There is a huge difference in price. If you don’t have the money to shell out on either of the big boys then try Carmel Overdose. I promise you won’t be disappointed. All of these smell like a super sweet bubblegum. I do not smell Carmel in any of these 3 or flowers really. Just bubblegum.

ilaria903

This is a new review I'm posting after getting a sample of this fragrance:

Sintra by Memo is a floral delight with a glass full of milk sweetened by sugary notes. To my nose it develops thanks to its white flowers, neroli, orange blossom and jasmine, together with caramelized marshamallows dissolved in milk. This combination makes Sintra one of the most interesting gourmands of the recent years.
It has a very elegant sweetness due to the notes that take it into its development, in which we increasingly notice the presence of vanilla pods and flowers exposed to the sunrays on a hot summer morning.

It can last hours on my skin, taking us to a summer garden with white flowers in full bloom, under an orange tree that perfumes the air together with the juicy fruits of the season.

Sintra is a real place in Portugal but closer to a city enchanted by a fairy tale, surrounded by greenery and the colors that distinguish it.
Seeing it in photos once I got to know this fragrance made me think of a medieval city set for a party, on a day in which only joy is celebrated in every smile and spontaneous dance.

When I smell this fragrance I am flooded with an overwhelming deliciousness and all my worries disappear. Its scent is perfectly wearable by anyone who wants to enjoy every moment of their life, experiencing it as a sweet time of pure pleasure. This perfume reminds me how we tend to look for relaxation and enthusiasm in the summertime, by searching for lightness and sweet entertainment. Life is worth savoring in a state of sensual delight, and I think Memo's Sintra manages to recreate all of this perfectly.

Sweetvanis

The neroli might be too sharp for some but I find this beautiful.
Not too sweet, don’t smell caramel

2whit2quit

I was excited to try a sample of Sintra based on all the yummy notes and seeing so many positive reviews. Upon inhaling, I detect a pleasantly sweet fragrance, but then I also detect the smell of heavily smoke-laced clothing and cat urine. I had two other people take a sniff and they said the same thing. Will try again later.

Update 05.31.22: Tried it again and got the same cigarette smell. Gave away my sample.

Elle's Bells

I've given this perfume three chances already and I have to ask the question, "why would somebody pay $300 to smell like grape flavored Robitussin?" Just head over to Walgreen's, and for nine bucks you could smell like Sintra. Way too sweet and cloying. A real hot neroli mess on my skin...But Marfa......

EDIT: I have to eat humble pie-but I'm a woman and the law of the universe says that I'm free to change my mind ☺️ But seriously...I wanted to give Sintra a try again as its started to get warmer outside AND inside my house. One spray and BOOM!!!! There she was surrounding me with all her orange blossom and milky splendor. I know who this woman is. So glad I gave it another chance as it's truly a stunning fragrance. Will be purchasing a FB this week.

grannyweatherwax

I don't think this is a badly made perfume, but for me, it was so sweet it made me gag and I had to scrub it off. I tried waiting 5-10 minutes to see if it would improve past the opening, but I couldn't wait that long. I can see from other reviews that not everyone has this reaction, but I wanted to echo the sentiment that it's not a safe blind buy!

Hammyt100

This to me isn't similar to LDBS at all. There's a bitter green note in this that stops it becoming sweet like LDBS.

It's not very balanced nor blended very well. I feel like it teeters on the line between bitter and sweet, and doesn't fall to either side. Just stays there unbalanced and hanging on.

I decided to try and push it over the line by layering, and it worked lol. I sprayed Balenciaga florabotanica over this, and I really like it now. So now I know it works with a fresh green over it, I'll try layering it with something sweet another time.

I don't like that this perfume was so expensive and can't stand confidently on its own. I've let it sit long enough to macerate and have given it many test runs. It really doesn't stand alone well.

nateya

I do not like this at all. I blind bought because of the reviews and this one just didn’t work with my chemistry. The neroli and milk notes is what’s prominent on my skin. It’s polarizing and I honestly hate it. It has a medicinal vibe and it makes me nauseated. It smells like orange blossom and spoiled milk on me. Do not blind buy!!!

ppalm

initial test I disliked it - too sharp at the opening and sickly sweet.

second test this is interesting. I like this. I don't love the opening sharp oranginess. But the longer I have this on, the more I like it. At times it is too sweet for me but as it dries down I get more of the woodiness and almost a mason margiela jazz club vibe. I get the resins, the cedar, the vanilla, the milkiness. but no jasmine no rose. at moments i get a pencil smell. Its very interesting and ever changing.

this definitely has potential. i am not sure its totally "me" but its worth a few more tries to find out.

yeah__books

Smells really really yummy. I think the so-called sharpness of the opening is overstated. I blind bought a full bottle and it had a sample of Marfa.

If you’re trying to decide between the two, I definitely think the DNA is very similar though Marfa to me seems much sweeter, though both are really pretty but alike with only slightly different floral notes. I prefer this as I find Marfa too sweet.

ibibonica

Just putting my 5 cents here regarding similarities with LDBS, the biggest difference is in the first phase which on me lasts for about an hour, Sintra is a lot fresher, distinct freshness of the petitgrain, whereas in LDBS the first thing on my skin is orange flower (no foreplay! :D), only in later phase when marshmallow and caramel in Sintra come out to play they start to smell similar, but still LDBS is sweeter and Sintra is a bit fresher and I think Sintra will behave in warm weather a lot better than LDBS, be more wearable, we'll see if I really need them both! :D Oh, and silage is the same on me (quite strong) but the longevity... LDBS around 4h and Sintra 12+ :)

emerson10

I get something minty in this- like sweet minty orange blossom. I am not getting LDBS at all -- much too orange blossom forward (where as that is more gourmandy, marshmallowy OB).

Yeah its like a jammy minty orange blossom. Pleasant lovely. again, not gonna make me break out Memo $, but quite nice if you're an orange blossom lover.

mrsoutlaw

On my skin, this is just a very heavy neroli fragrance. Neroli carries through and overwhelms the other notes throughout the entirety of wearing this fragrance. Upon spraying this, I received a hard hit of neroli with a side of bergamot. It then shifted to neroli and orange blossom. When it completely dried down, all I could smell was a lightly sweetened neroli. I can understand why some may love this. But I found myself unimpressed by this fragrance.

Mylah1211!

My 5 year old when asked what this smells like he said “poison ivy” and I have to say I agree it’s sweet and intoxicating with a medicinal plant bite to me it is complex. This is a first from the house of memo. I can def see poison ivy the character wearing this as a signature scent.

KayZam

Very very strong. Spicy on the first spray, the sweetness is lacking. I feel like it could be unisex.

ErinlyT

This one is somehow a mash-up of Nishane Hundred Silent Ways (Sintra is slightly less sweet) and Givenchy L’Interdit Intense. I’ve tested it out for 3 different wearings and I’m not getting any cozy marshmallow. Tons of petitgrain. It’s a shame as I was really hoping for marshmallow. It’s nice enough, but L’interdit is a much better price point for this much petitgrain.

plushberry240

Literally all I can smell is the petitgrain and artificial grape?? I barely get the caramel and marshmallow even after the dry down although the dry down is more pleasant then the opening. the opening is way too green and spicy and it almost makes me nauseous. reminds me a lot of L’interdit

it lasts very long though and the sillage is phenomenal but I don’t like the scent so that sucks

karinatfragrantica

For someone like me, who does not like vanilla in fragrances, nor marshmallow/gourmand scents, it is really surprising that I actually like this scent. It is definitely high quality and has something addictive. One of the best Memo's I have tested so far. But you have to love vanilla to truely enjoy it.

Kaylovely

Hidden gem, let them squak over love while we bathe I'm Sintra. Creamy marshmallow ocean. Your on an neroli float preparing to go down a beautiful petitgrain waterfall.

PerfumeForLainy

Sintra is ever so amaizing Big, fluffy, clean, fairy cloud! I love the note from the brand about Sintra and yes, it is easy to visualize and dissappear in the dream world.

Sweet, but never cloying, dense but not heavy, fresh but not fleeting, powerfull but not angry. It is obviously not an everyday office scent, though I did wore half a spray at work several times and it went well, no casualties. A couple of sprays(on yourself, don't waste it) do fill any room and it is a lovely experience as well and a neat trick to freshen and enchant the house before the guests arive.

Whenever Sintra feels to loud and green, but you still crave that fluffy marsmallowy sweetness, do try Signature from Montblanc. It is a tad sweeter, much less prominent and equaly lovely.

The bottle is stunning as well as the juice. I adore the little tiles, but would have preffered if they filled the whole front surface of the bottle, otherwise it looks unfinished.

scissorhandedly

Okay, I get it. It's nice. I appreciate the idea, the execution and the artistry. But it is a bit too much to be a 5/5.

The opening is sweet marshmallow from one side and a burst of green, bitter, soapy florals from the other, with a hint of grape candy. Gets better a few minutes in, more palatable. The thing is - I like the fragrance, but it is something most people, myself included, would find a bit offensive, especially if you expect to be in physical proximity to other people for longer than a few minutes. I would have to be in a particular mood to wear this - I would consider making the purchase if it came in a 10ml size as some Memo creations do.

gourmandnotes

1/9/2022 Update: I've had Sintra for about a year now. I must say that despite storing Sintra properly in my care, some of the notes have fully disappeared and Sintra has become less and less than what I initially smelled, which opened and developed with notes of petitgrain, neroli, green aromatics with probably some lactonic musks/marshmallow notes. Now, it's mostly red fruits and orange blossom all throughout its development. I would no longer place Sintra in the same sentence of LDBS, Oriana, or even Guimauve (Oriana is clearly the winning runner-up) and Sintra resembles more of Au Pays de la Fleur d'Oranger's Neroli Blanc Intense, which is to say, both are _orange blossom_ perfumes, and an exceedingly sweet, syrupy, fruity RED orange blossom perfumes at that.

AquaBaby5

Of this, Oriana, and Love Don’t be Shy, the Kilian wins for me personally. I don’t like the orange heavy citrus of Oriana or the soapy neroli in this. Learn your taste and pick which one to try or buy based upon your general preferences for those notes.

VeronicaMa

Maxie F said it best. Her review below is dead on accurate. I purchased a sample of Sintra because of the hype on YouTube. I immediately smelled the neroli and then a green grape. Initially, it was not smooth and didn't smell well blended. I was disappointed. But it smelled better at the dry down. About 20-30 minutes later this morphed into something that resembled PDM Oriana. This is a strange one. I suggest getting a sample and not blind buy this one.

its.me.aubree

Sometimes, you really can just trust the hype around a fragrance. This one has been recognized since it's launch as one of the best orange blossoms on the market. I tried it alongside Parle Moi's Guimauve de Noel and PDM's Oriana. Sintra truly stands out for its use of petitgrain here. Lasting throughout the entire fragrance is a sharp greenness you won't find in the dryer sheets of Oriana's laundry basket or the bottom of the tin of marshmallows in Guimauve. I find that Sintra, of the three, is the most complex, developing, and long lasting on my skin. I want to smell it most of the time, and I really wish that were not the case because the price point is steep indeed. I think I can likely make room in the future for this, but not now in the dead of winter.

MaxieF

Ok PLEASE don't blind buy this. I almost did but I chose to sample first and I'm SO glad I did. This smells like neroli and grape. The opening is a spicy green note that made my stomach turn. The spice remains, making it smell like children's scented markers. Not in a good way.

I own both Oriana and love dont be shy and they're both so much smoother and well blended. This is a soapy, bitter, sweet, grape and neroli scent. It literally smells like a grape scented soap.

If you're going to blind buy, at least make sure you wait until everyone starts decluttering it cause I promise you'll get it for more than half off. The hype will not last.

CallMeT__

Opens with a lot of bitterness possibly from the Pettigrain + neroli. This is my least favourite part because I don’t really like green facets, but the perfume gets sweeter as it dries down. The sweetness is that of green flowers powdered with fine sugar and marshmallows so not necessarily gourmand. Performance is 8+ hours on my skin and suitable all year, particularly for Spring because of the green facets. I don't think people should blind-buy this based on description alone because it is not gourmand and can be a bit bitter and herbal. But if you love a bitter neroli or orange blossom with some sweetness then go for it. Very similar (once it dries down) to Guimauve De Noel, Oriana, Love... but none of them hold a candle to Sintra in both performance or complexity. Sintra is of great quality but you need to know your taste and sample before buying. 10/10

curieuse

Ooooh, this is nice. I'm usually not into gourmande nor florals but when it's done this nice it's really enjoyable. This is such an interesting and sophisticated scent. Sweet yet fresh, sticky yet lightweight, so well balanced. You can smell the sweet rose dancing in a whirl, and there is a definitely oriental incense vibe but in the best way possible. I'm reminded of very cozy ethnic shops in Paris where they have all kinds of beautiful handmade fabrics and incense.
I've been to the lovely castles of Sintra in Portugal and I am guessing the influence from the Moorish architecture inspired the oriental vibe of this perfume. Mmmm, just so well done.

Coco_fab

I love this scent soooo much but it does not last at all on me :( I don’t know if it’s my chemistry.

I am not even in the mood to properly review this , like I always do… I am so dissapointed !!!

I am happy for the people that say it last long on them because it is an amazing perfume

Edit:
I think my nose plays tricks on me ! When I first sampled this and went home I got obsessed with the sophisticated marshmallow drydown! Once I got it I did not smell it on me at all for many weeks and months , until after a few weeks of ignoring it I applied again and it stayed around me the whole day!
I think the issue was that I sampled it and the scent got stuck to my sleeve and I sniffed that sleeve for weeks until I got it ! The scent of that sleeve stayed on for 3 weeks and I sniffed it for 3 weeks and that’s why I was anosmic to it when I got this !

Now I get the beautiful marshmallow drydown that I fell in love with ! It is a very sweet fragrance but not juvenile at all! It’s really a grown up sweetness! The opening is green, I would call it a milky greenness, thats when I get the lactonic vibe. The sweetness creeps in the background and after 30 minutes it takes center stage until the drydown!

Amazing fragrance and I am glad I have it in my collection!

ilaria903

This is so green at first and then it develops into a garden in the middle of summer with flowers and especially jasmine. I smell that a lot.

I've got a sample of it and I also started to notice the milk note in here. I think it makes it especially sweet with the vanilla. It's just the perfect milky jasmine fragrance. It's simply amazing!

Ella7712

AMAZING scent! 😍 Similar to LDBS but with much better performance. It's sweet-floral-vanilla-marshmallow heaven, so good I have to get a bottle.

fanntonyoscar

On me, this smells exactly like a beautiful woman wearing LDBS and smoking a cigarette… it was positively fantastic until I got that harsh, bitter note which actually ruined everything.

srcnls

I’ve always been hesitant when it comes to gourmand fragrances, especially the marshmallow note, and I find LDBS too sweet for me. At a Memo Paris counter I tried a couple of fragrances unsure of what to buy, I tried Sintra just because I’m from Lisbon (and felt like it would be a shame not to). Imagine my surprise when I loved this at first sniff! The green notes in the opening are delightful, bringing this to a more fresh realm than LDBS, the dry down has the orange/neroli notes I love and it is actually not too sweet to be cloying, it’s a perfect blend. It does remind me of being in Sintra visiting the palaces, the smell or the trees and the flowers in the Lisbon heat, with the sweetness reminding me of the smell from the local pastry shops. Compliments galore and perfume is fantastic.

Arber Cami

This perfum leans definitely towards women. Its sweet (bubblegummy), gourmand like from the marshmallow (to me its more like guimauve) and florals. The drydown reminds me of a nivea sunscreen. Overall a pleasant all year around smell for women.

Liz-frag

This perfume really does smells like oriental sweets. There is this almond/ honey/pastry sweet that we call « gazelle horns » in french and sintra is this exact taste captured in a fragrance. With a little glass of hot milk.
While LDBS is a french guimauve, sintra is oriental.
It is also a MASSIVE compliment getter, on me anyway.
I wore it yesterday and got complimented 3 times on how good I smelled. I think people like this sweet ldbs DNA and it’s a crowd pleaser kind of scent. I can’t wait to wear it again 🤍

Kaylovely

Beautiful scent, sweet warm steamed milk for the winter, orange blossom sherbert for the summer. Smells like heaven. Compared to PDM Oriana, Kilian LDBS (Rihanna fave) yet there's really no comparison!

Bear828

I like the top note as it seems more Citrus but then the laconic note turns into sour milk. So it'll have to go even though I want to keep it for the gorgeous bottle. It doesn't work with my chemistry.

WFT321

Very similar to PDM Oriana and Kilian LDBS. If you like both these scents then you’re likely to enjoy Sintra as well. I have both so sadly can’t justify buying a full bottle.

It’s a beautiful creamy floral scent and I wish I’d tried it before I bought LDBS, as I think I like this better.

nehima

Smells like branches and leaves of a citrus tree, barely any true sweetness.

jassca99

This smells so familiar, like something I’ve smelled sometime in my life but I can’t put my finger on it. I can pick up most of the notes throughout. With the first spray, you can already tell how powerful this juice will be. The beginning has a green, slightly bitter, punch to it probably because of the petitgrain but then it transforms into this beautiful orange blossom, with cinnamon in the back adding to the punch but not enough to get a spicy vibe. Also get strawberry milk with a caramel drizzle. The mid/dry down really won me over. It’s not a sexy scent but it grabs your attention. I experimented and layered this with something more spicy and that’s what really sold me on it. It’s a delectable treat. I’ve really been into the lactonic note recently and that’s what makes this the best, along with the unique greenness, compared to others in the sweet marshmallow orange blossom profile like Kilian LDBS and Love Extreme (Oriana is similar but not quite in this category imo).

Update: longevity AND projection are so good. Sillage too! I can still smell this around me with 6hrs of wear even without smelling where I sprayed myself, without moving and even without a breeze. Amazing! I get more cinnamon which surprisingly doesn’t bother me. The dry down is an eternal smell of warm strawberry milk with cinnamon sprinkles and caramel or a spiced dulce de leche. Reminds me of childhood comforts for sure but still grown. It’s just so me!

2nd Update:
I can’t wear Sintra alone outside because idk when the petitgrain will be emphasized, which it does when it’s too hot or too cold. Haven’t found the perfect weather to wear it in and I don’t want to experiment too many times, because it may turn me off completely if it goes wrong. But wearing outside when layered or in the house alone, it’s everything I described above. Caramel milk perfection. Regardless, my bottle is half empty a year later, so I really do love this.

Kaylovely

3 words, I love you!

Valerie7

This fragrance is one of my favorites, one of my holy grail fragrances!! My beloved Sintra deserves my very first comment here on fragrantica because it’s one of my favorite scents and my BEST DISCOVERY in 2021! Sintra has an amazing strong green note in the opening which i adore. The drydown, is of course sweet, but the green aspect, which makes it so special never really disappears. The fragrance just gets warmer, more creamy, with an amazing orange blossom note and a delicious marshmallow note. This fragrance is so sexy and a compliment getter! I also have the Love extreme by kilian perfume in my collection and i can see the similarities but i also can see the differences which allow me to have a place for both fragrances in my collection. If you ask me, Sintra is very unique and very very oriental smelling and one i could wear everyday without getting bored or annoyed. I also received some compliments at work while wearing it. Sillage and longevity are amazing as well!!
Sintra is the PERFECT combination of flowers and gourmand notes and will always be one of my biggest loves in perfumery and one of my signature fragrances!! A big big love for me!!!

HeavyBeatsUK

Marshmallow, vanilla, AND caramel?! Are you sure it’s sweet enough?! What a disgusting and tragic way to ruin an otherwise beautiful orange blossom!

It’s beautifully strong, it should have been combined with something bitter to make it a grownup wearable beautiful fragrance.

Well it’s not. So that’s that.

Dramaloladiva

Oh my goodness!!! Sintra by Memo!!! First of all, Gorgeous Bottle!!!!!
I agree with perfumesista (bellow my comment) about how this is not a fragrance to blind buy but Oh.My. Goodness. What a beautiful scent!!!
I just got a sample of this but I already know that I am going to have a full bottle of this soon!!!
This is Orange Blossom heaven with a sweetness from the Marshmallow and Caramel but honestly, it is floral and if you aren’t into florals, this won’t work for you.

I tried it on my wrist and it stayed for almost 12 hours!!!!!!! Talk about Longevity!!
It projects modestly (at least on my skin) but my husband (who is very fussy about perfumes) said he really liked it when passing by me.
As for the price...well, I’ll own a full bottle of it some day. Yeah, it is crazy expensive, but it is definitely worth the wait. It is so pretty and floral and quite transporting: think the Mediterranean Sea, orange blossoms blooming and you are eating a sweet treat with caramel and milk and sugar. Yeah, I know, I am not describing this well but this is just divine.
Try it before you get it!!!

Last thing, if you’ve ever tried Safanad by Parfums de Marly, it shares a few notes because of the Orange Blossom and the sweetness of it. They are by no means similar but they are in the same veins as far as notes.
I just loooooove florals!!!!

Blacktundras

The dry down is a lot better than the opening. The opening is has a green/BBQ smell then after like 5-10 min or so it drys down to that Love Dont be shy smell. Honestly, I'd rather just get Love since it doesn't have that harsh smell. But I already have that DNA from my Loew Mayrit fragrance. Although something has to be said about the performance, because its phenomenal. 1 spray is all it took to fill the room the whole day,so if you can stand that weird opening, then this should be a good buy. Just don't make it a blind buy, this one isn't safe at all for that.

Nutmeg & Almond

Sintra is the perfect perfume to wear on a winter evening while sitting in front of the fireplace, cup of hot chocolate in hand, cat on your lap, cuddled up with your partner.

The most prominent note in Sintra is burnt sugar. I happen to love the marshmallow and caramel combination but it might be too cloying for people who don’t enjoy sweet gourmand notes. Petitgrain, neroli and bergamot add some depth and balance to what could otherwise be sugar overload. As the fragrance sits on the skin, jasmine and rose start to shine. I must confess that I am not a rose fan but it actually works in Sintra. None of the floral notes take center stage and instead exist to support the warm, amber accords.

Sintra is a fragrance that grew on me over time; it wasn’t love at first sniff. Now that I’ve lived with it for a while, I realized that I’ll miss this perfume when the decant is used up. I predict a full bottle is in my future. Sintra will be a comforting fragrance to get me through the coming winter months.

Sassiearnaud92

NEXT LEVEL of Love don’t be shy by Killian.
The performance and sillage of this is amazing..

akawanis

Sintra is an instant love- has the same DNA as Memo’s Marfa, which I’ve enjoyed several bottles of. Served alongside the white floral is a smoky-resinous green- which to me, registers in the bitter davana-wormwood-Angelica family, more so than a sharp/sappy petit grain.

Prominent vanilla drydown doesn’t bother me, as it remains linearly tempered by the smoke & bitter. Bonus points for being one of the highest performing fragrances ever made!

AnnaElli

I was looking forward to testing this fragrance as I enjoyed Kilian's Love quite a lot and it's on my wishlist.
I get some resemblance but they are definitely not a dupe of each other, they are quite different in lot of ways.
Sintra has pretty strong green notes in the opening. The drydown, is of course sweet, but the sugary/vanilla sweetness is warm, more creamy, with some lovely flowery notes detectable and compared to Love, it has more of a sophisticated kind of vibe.
Love is on the other hand more playful, more easy going and I think also more sweet, where the sweetness is, I'd say, more fruit candy-like.
If the price wasn't so high with Sintra, I'd consider a FB, now I'm not so sure. Last but not least, it has an amazing performance.
So if you are a Love lover, try a sample first for sure, I would not blind buy it right away.

Absolutely gorgeous fragrance! If you have smelled Love Dont be Shy it definitely shares DNA with that because of the orange blossom/marshmallow combination but the top and mid of Sintra is where it really differs.
The top/middle is sharp, bording spicy green (im assuming it's the pettigrain). I think it actually contrasts the sweetness of the base beautifully and by the time it settles that 'spiciness' really dissipates and the scent is much rounder.
I've noticed the top/mid can turn many off so for the price its not a safe blind buy BUT if you like Kilians Love I think it is very much worth a sniff!

I really enjoyed my sample of this. FB worthy for me. I feel this is on the edge of gourmand due to the pettigrain which doesn't seem to dissipate until the end. I started out my fragrance journey being a full gourmand lover, but as my taste has changed, I prefer something that doesn't scream "dessert", just hints at it. Long-lasting as well. This will be my second purchase from Memo which may become my new favorite house.

This IS Amazing .its share the DNA of Love dont be shy By Kilian but its much more long lasting .its a gourmand neroli and orange flower.its heavy on orange flower like you smell in Maroc and eastern pastry.very Amazing addition in my collection :)

This is really expensive and I was laughing the first time I tried it because it smells like one of my own mixes I called Orange Blossom Fluff. The mix I made out of cheap fragrance oils for soaps in Orange blossom, marshmallow and a good Tihota dupe. The dry down of Sintra is a little more floral and less like cheap fragrance oil, of course. It definitely smells of its high quality; The floral is a very good orange blossom with the waxiness that the true flower can have, and the vanilla and marshmallow at the dry down mellow it a lot from just a plain floral. It’s very lovely but not worth the price in my opinion, unless you are mad for orange blossom. Then you probably can’t go wrong. Or you can PM me and I'll send you my recipe for the cheap knock off made of fragrance oils...

Absolutely gorgeous! A sharp blast of petitgrain in the opening followed by orange blossom, flowers and vanilla. Lots of sillage and lasts throughout the day. Quite pricey but tremendous bang still relative to the buck in my humble opinion. This one delivers. FB ordered.

This is beautiful and absolutely shares many similarities with Kilian Love. The opening of Sintra is my favorite part - the juxtaposition of the green petitgrain & neroli next to the marshmallow is just so beautiful. I wish this stage lasted longer... the green disappears on my skin in about 15 minutes.

The next part is when Sintra reminds me strongly of Love - they are both sweet vanillic/marshmallow orange blossom scents. But Sintra has a distinct milky/lactonic note on my skin that Love lacks. Sintra is also muskier in the base. It definitely projects and lasts much longer than my Love (I have the white bottle).

Overall, I absolutely love both fragrances and I'm trying to decide if Sintra is worth $300 to me based on that fact that i already own something quite similar. That being said, it is a gorgeous scent and if i didnt own Kilian Love, I would absolutely buy this in a heartbeat :)

Pomme de Terrier

First impressions were that it was far too green and astringent from the petitgrain.

Three hours later, I could not stop smelling my wrist. It has become the closest to a signature scent that I have. It is beautiful & adult though not overly mature. The notes in the pyramid above are accurate, and for me the performance is outstanding.

I love this fragrance. It also last all day!

This is so good! It smells like it would be almost too sweet when smelling straight from the bottle but once you get it on your skin it’s PERFECTION of orange blossom, vanilla, and marshmallow with a very slight spiciness to it. The marshmallow is done how gourmand should be done. I can’t explain it but I liked it a lot the first two times I wore it and now it’s a complete love. It’s one of favorites in my colllection. I see that someone mentioned a grape scent -which I love grape but I’m not getting it from this-I do however have a more grape scented perfume which is absolutely amazing as well-PDM Meliora! Memo Sintra has totally captivated me-they figured out how to do a gourmand that not only you can wear year round BUT strikes right dead center between sweet and a little spicy to keep it from veering into a sickly sweet. This is amazing perfumery. It makes you almost salivate when smelling it. And out of ALL the fragrances I own, it is one of the few that lasts the longest-like ALL DAY from morning till shower at night-AMAZING and so worth the money. I will repurchase in a heartbeat when I run out.

I like this a lot better than Kilian's Love... Love is much more candy-like while Sintra seems more sophisticated but is still young and fun. Someone mentioned below that it reminded them of a grape jolly rancher and I do get that in the opening! When it dries down it gets tamer though. You have to be a big orange blossom fan and you have to be able to tolerate sweet fragrances to even enjoy Sintra. Sintra remains both sweet and fresh at the same time. I love this. Day-date appropriate or just everyday wear in the spring and summer. Debating a full bottle! Also, it lasts forever on my fragrance eating skin.

Hi josie_xo I'm interested

If Guimauve is a kitten's mew, Sintra is a lioness's roar in both projection, staying power, and composition of notes. Sintra is indeed a lactonic, marshmallow scent, but it is far more a greener, spicier, and floral marshmallow than Guimauve is. It's not as sweet as Love, but there is a twinning going on, that shows up like a phantom. Sintra strikes me a bit masculine-leaning due to the copious amount of aromatics, resin and spice.

Initially, there are similarities to Love, but the caramel and pillowy white marshmallow takes a temporary backseat as the stronghold of petitgrain, bergamot, cedar, and cinnamon notes take on stage for several minutes, all the while the marshmallow and caramel are waiting behind the curtain. At some point, the infamous grape soda note (red fruits) appears, tempering and rounding out the herbaceousness. Once the brash notes fade, the marshmallow and caramel notes begin to emerge once more, co-mingling with the milk, vanilla, and musk. Together, they make an incredible soft, gourmandy drydown.

If Love & Guimauve had a love child in Portugal, namely in Sintra, I'd imagine this would come close to a hybrid of both, but with the baby taking up stronger aromatic features of Guimauve's ancient patriarchal lineage of herbaceous green DNA with prominence. Personally, I find it's not an entirely "feminine" marshmallow, so Sintra could appeal to those who don't want to smell entirely sweet, want something similar to Guimauve but more herbaceous/green, or for men who like marshmallow with a heavy dose of green aromatics.

Alright I have been flirting with the idea of getting Sintra but I finally got it...

Let me just say it’s a lovely scent when it settles in but the initial notes have way too much green for me (almost nauseating) It completely overpowers all the other notes giving a very bitter/grassy smell. (If that’s your thing you’ll love it unfortunately it’s not mine, was contemplating washing it off and selling)

As I said as it settles the green tones down and the more sweeter/milkier notes and orange blossom come through making it a beautiful scent combined. I love how much it reminds me of Love tbh.

I would probably only wear this in spring/summer.

EDIT: back after a few weeks wear and honestly it’s one of my fav fragrances in my collection lol. It did take some getting used to but I love this (perhaps more than my love by kilian) defo would recommend getting a tester first though

I just got my sample decant of the highly raved about Memo Sintra today! The first time I put this on with the blotter stick, my brother said my wrist smelled like grape Jolly Ranchers.

I tried it again, just pouring some out on the back of my hand and letting it dry. On my skin, I smell marshmallow and orange blossom, which ends up translating very similarly to Dolce & Gabbana's Pour Femme with its raspberry marshmallow blend.

It has the same vibe, IMO—the sugary sweet marshmallow is combined with a freshness from the jasmine, cedar, and orange blossom that prevents it from veering too much into candy territory. Soon after, it takes on a lactonic quality that is pleasant and comforting.

Overall, I do enjoy this, and will continue to enjoy my little sample.

Forget the naysayers. Sintra smells very, very, very close to CK Euphoria Pure Gold for Women. Pure Gold has an extremely similar neroli and marshmallow flow going for itself. But is a tad more floral. Just a tad. If you're in a financial pinch and want that Sintra vibe... really...just pick this CKEPG for women, instead -- even if you're a man.

gandabear

Just got my bottle today! It is so similar to love extreme by killian- and I don't need both (I love perfume, but I collect to wear, not collect).

Edit- sold it and bought the wonderfully weird lilac love lol

Carpe Noctem

Edit: 9-25-23 I bought a bottle last year and I have zero regrets!! I want to wear this every single day. (But I don’t)

I just got my decant in the mail two days ago and wore it before I went out. It is BEA-UTIFUL. I also have Kilian's Love Don't Be Shy and his Eau Fraiche in the same version, and Parle Moi's Guimauve de Noel, which also has a Marshmallow note.

To me this reminded me of both but more-so Guimauve de Noel, especially the dry-down. At around 4-5 hours it became a skin scent and lasted around 8 hours total. It has such a beautiful orange blossom note, and I loved it more than the other perfumes I mentioned. To me it's not as "marshmallowy" as Guimauve and has more orange blossom.

I didn't get any berries, cinnamon or rose. I don't know if I will buy a full bottle because it's so similar to all I mentioned, but I *do* wish I would have gotten this one first. It would be the one I keep.
