What a lovely syrupy woody rose this is. How is rose not listed in the notes?? Perhaps its the plum being misconstrued as rose. Such a well balanced sweet woody fragrance; almost too good to be an MK fragrance haha.

pinkstate

Plummy/fruity sweet opening with a smokey/powdery rose dry down. The oud is in there but it's a sweet one, not a medicinal one. I really like this one! Stays on my skin for 6 hours.

BigBobRoss

Starts fruity but turns into a woody chocolate scent pleasant fragrance...

I purchased this by mistake (wanted the Mystique one). Thoroughly underwhelmed. To begin with, it vanishes before it dries on my skin. Literally. What little I could smell was so blah I was surprised it was a Michael Kors creation.

Returned it presto.

I purchased this a few days ago and I guess I am not an oud lover. I initially get a very strong "sour flowers" smell that lasts for about 20 minutes. Once that is gone, I smell the plum and sweet praline, which is very nice. However, I am miserable for the first 20 minutes.
On the other hand, I did discover that if I layer it with Velvet Petals from Victoria Secret, it tones down the oud and makes the experience much better. The short of it is this....I will use the 30 ml that I purchased but will not repurchase.

I'm in love with that line 😩I also have midnight shimmer and is one of my favourite because let's be honest🙄 it's one of the best warm vanilla perfumes ever(if you consider the price😏) but twilight shimmer is the bomb 😍👌✨it's like Christmas in a bottle.. Rich and sweet (the opening is sweet with red fruits and it reminds me of another perfume but I can't tell which one yet) not too sweet like midnight shimmer because of the oud and the woodsy notes in it, praline is what I can smell last on my skin but it's there ... Guys 😩it's the perfect balance between sweet and woodsy notes, at least on my skin. The sillage is ok if you want to be noticed you can overspray and the whole building will know you arrived 😏

I blindbought this recently, together with mystique shimmer, both 50ml, for 35 euros. The latter was a total fail, so much so that I regret spending even 15 euros on it.

This one however, although not a love, is much more appealing to me. It is very very spicy on my skin. I can almost smell cloves and cinnamon in the opening, although they are not included in the notes. As many have stated, it has a christmasy quality to it. Smells very much like spiced sangria to me.

I can smell a very ripe and sweet plum, not juicy or fresh at all, praline and oddly some tobacco, instead of the oud listed. Once again, very spicy and potent, could be headache-inducing if oversprayed.

For me, twilight shimmer has a place and time it can be worn. In deep winter, maybe on Christmas Eve, and definitely only at night. It has strong projection and decent longevity for a Michael Kors.

Also, these bottles look extremely cheap to me. I don't know why, but they give of a celebrity perfume vibe. Maybe it is the glitter? For 20 euros it is acceptable, but not for the asking price.

This smells like the holidays to me 🎄🍷 because it literally smells like spiced blueberry/plum mulled cider + red wine...aka very syrupy and fruity with some holiday spices thrown in there. It just screams "Christmas" to me. It smells beautiful but tbh, it's not the type of thing I'd be reaching for during most days of the year unless it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, or a cold wintery day where I want to smell like spiced blueberry plum cider 😅.

Like the rest of the Shimmer line by MK, this one is VERY strong and potent, so a couple sprays will be more than enough to last the whole day. If you overdo it, it can easily become cloying and nauseating. I'll keep this in my collection cuz the bottle looks really pretty hehe and also bc it *does* smell gorgeous and unique (sweet, boozy, dark, rich, plummy)! This will be perfect for the wintertime, but sadly, I don't see myself reaching for this one often ☹️

Beautiful…
I have to say I am in love with each of the offerings from this line for different reasons. I have glam jasmine, starlight shimmer, mystique shimmer, twilight shimmer, and sexy amber.
This one is giving me dessert oud and I’m all ears. Right out of the gates it shouts it’s intentions. Even smelling this on a tester strip clings onto the skin of my face and envelops me in a confectionery, woody oud. Loving this! It’s definitely a projector so take care if you’re going to be in a setting where heavy scent is challenging. But for date nights, woodland walks in the fall/winter, or in my case, a grocery store run- I’ll sign on the dotted line.

LisaLovesPerfume

Twilight Shimmer is slightly sweet and spicy on my skin. It's reminiscent of Euphoria Liquid Gold, but lighter. I absolutely love it.

DaniBear1121

Based on the notes listed, I thought I would love this. Well. I don't even like it. There are definitely notes missing here. I smell a floral, and I smell patchouli. I sprayed it once and the scent immediately brought to mind a funeral home. Definitely not sexy to me. It is hot and humid here currently so debating on keeping this to try in cooler weather, or selling.

Tessa03

To my nose this smells EXACTLY like MAC’s Velvet Teddy. Oddly I get tons of tobacco (cigar humidor smell?) from this (but none from Starlight Shimmer which does have a tobacco note??). Longevity is very good - maybe because I didn’t like it, it’s all I could smell on my arm for the longest time!

AMajeedQT

Woody, dark fruits.

Twilight Shimmer (TS) is an interesting release by MK.

Woody Laotian oud, with leathery, serious, slightly-fruity plum dominate TS. There is mild support from the woodsy notes & the red fruits to enhance the aspects of each of the aforementioned dominant notes, respectively. The praline exists mildly here to give a more feminine sweetness to this mature fragrance. The oud also adds a very mild smokiness..

Woody, incenseny, lightly sweet-&-fruity, slightly-leathery.

This a serious, mature fragrance from MK. Beautifully feminine with a dark edge, thanks to the oud/plum combo.

A mature cool weather wear, suitable for dates & romantic nights.

Big "Like"

mister_chaz

This smells like sweet and spicy black tea.

gands

All I get is oud and praline. Nothing else. But even then, the oud is so overpowering and headache inducing I could never use it. Sadly it has great projection and longevity that I won't get the pleasure of experiencing. Giving away. Yuck.

This is what the Evil Queen in Snow White smells like lol (before she turns to an old ugly witch). Tried it on years ago at Ulta, put it on my wish list, bought it some months ago and I have NO clue why I had liked it so much back then, what was I thinking! Its very heavy to me, slightly smoky to my nose, not bad for winter, even though its not a warm scent, no vanilla or amber, its quite cold, spicy as if theres patchouli in it and dark so dark. The oud and praline combo too overwhelming for me. Its almost gourmand, something that would poison you maybe. Not sharp tho! (patch/amber combo creates a sharp note that takes awhile for me to digest, Gucci Guilty or Lady Million style thank God thats not it here!). This is just smoky!! Its a perfume for a witch in my mind. At first it smells like acetone mixed with rich fruity red wine and of all that boiling in a pot on a wood burning fire at the basement of a cold castle. Yes its a dark spell kind of potion! After a few minutes the praline makes it a tad sweeter and saves the night. I wear it with sweaters when it gets 18-20 where I live, and have a hot shower before bed cuz this 'spell' wont let me sleep.

gtabasso

kind of like a celeb fruitchouli with oud; still has a floral component to it that reads a bit like rose; praline, oud, plum or any sweet fruit, patchouli

Gingersnaps777

This is an easy westernized oud that is mass pleasing. It’s sweet, woody, and sexy. It’s good for date night and going out with the girls.
It’s also yummy and cozy. It’s not a food scent by any means but the praline and plum give it a ALMOST a dessert-like quality.
I feel this is confidence in a bottle for a woman who is looking to conquer a night out in the town and have fun (both naughty and nice fun) that is someday when this pandemic is over....

Longevity is 9+ hours on my skin and it can almost fill a room. Beautiful and fun scent!

katariina9

The fruitchouli opening of Twilight Shimmer feels very familiar, it has been done countless times before. Where Coco Madmoiselle is fresh and elegant, Twilight has denser syrupy fruity notes that like many have said before, may remind Christmas. There is hint of very sweet mulled wine in this. More like CK Euphoria, just a touch short of cloying.

But fast forward 30 min and things get more attractive. On my skin, the scent really flips around and I can suddenly smell oud coming out. Oud note though synthetic and tame, is actually very enjoyable and immediately makes it into very feminine sexy and even bold evening scent. The sweetness is still pretty borderline sugar-blast for me personally, but with oud addition it does manage to get away with this. Just. There are no other woods at the base, but a bit of fruit syrup + nutella feel with oud. Twilight Shimmer is a no-brainer, suitable for all evening outings in freezing cold, very date-appropriate. Longevity is moderate, around 6 h, but it does project well.

I wouldn't have thought to buy it, but after receiving it blindly from a very lovely swapper, its actually a keeper as a dumb reach for date night because I don't currently have anything similar in my wardrobe.

samantham-123

Smouldering.
And no, I don't mean seductive bedroom eyes I literally mean coals burning themselves out over a cooling fireplace.
I don't have much experience in the oud department so this one is new to me. It smells very Christmasy to my nose; even the colour of the bottle looks like some sort of high end Christmas tree decoration.
It opens with the smell of a spiced mulled Christmas wine; mixed with poached berries and cherries and some spices like nutmeg, anise and cinnamon stirred through.
Then it moves to the woody middle phase; you're sitting in front of a dying fireplace sipping mulled wine; and soon start eating luxury chocolate and vanilla praline.

This really takes me to that happy festive season feeling, can't wait to wear this Christmas eve :)
Longevity is ridic, at least 8 hours on my skin, 2 days at least on clothes. It has vanilla sweetness but it's not fruity and overly girly so it could be unisex, but that bottle is just way to pretty I want to put it on my dresser but I don't wear it often enough lol.

What I will say about this; is body chemistry is key. I tried this on a hot day and by God it was awful, almost repulsive. Something in there went rancid on my skin, I felt rather disappointed and thought " If this is it I'm getting rid of this"
But in cooler weather or at nighttime, this really opens up quite beautifully and is it discontinued or what? Because in Australia it was actually really hard to find, and even harder at a reasonable price.
I think the 100ml bottle I bought is probably a bit much lol but I do quite enjoy this scent

kbgirl19

this smells like Christmas to me. like you are sitting by the fire drinking some mulled cider with a cinnamon stick. I say mulled cider because I pick up a lot of warm and sweet spices and they are blended so well together it's such a beautiful concoction and I can't help but smile when I smell myself. if I want to feel comforted before bed and need to relax this is the scent I'll reach for. I can't wait to wear this during the holiday season.

divakitty24

~ I'm so glad I bought a smaller size of this , as within a short period of time it becomes a skin scent on me , that's not a bad thing per se , but after an hour or so it is like a ghost fleeting from sight , then back again , then poof , no more . It is delicious and the bottle is a Ombre two shaded purple which is attractive but nothing special { too me } I do like the Starlight bottle much better { Black Ombre } , it is so cute . I guess I'm just not into purple that much . I showered and took my usual bath duo this a.m. and spritzed this 6 ~ 8 times , on wrists , blouse , neck & valley below within three hours it was gone , totally not even a skin sent any longer , so like I said a ghost ~ I tend to run hot , some times very hot and certain scentuals on me wear differently than on others , some that are weak on others are a beast on me , and notes , some notes do me more harm than good ~ It drives me crazy ~ Of course our weather does not help as of right now it is 105*f ~ and I need another bath combo before the night ends just to place a calming scent to help me sleep ~ since the humidity is so stinking high ~ Yikes ~ I want fall and winter weather soon please ~ I even run hot in those months too , I never use a heater , I use a fan if in need , and a light blanket ~ I'm saddened by this failure on me , all I got was a fruity mishmash , no Oudh , No woods , No praline either ~ Boo ~ ///=^} ~

arapp95

Love love love this fragrance. I'm new to Oud and this one is extremely palatable. It's super sexy for wearing at night. I'm not fond of fruity fragrance and I don't find the plum in this one to be too much, it adds some freshness at the beginning. The Oud is incensy/smoky and blended really nicely with the other notes in this fragrance. I haven't had an occasion to wear this out of the house yet so I cannot comment on longevity. The bottle is STUNNING and if you're curious the glitter is well adhered to the bottle and doesn't make a mess in my drawer.

Edemay

A very safe yet sexy oud,
perfect for a night out.
Underrated, more people need to try this!
Im not usually a fan of plum but the plum in this softer and more natural than other scents.
At first try I would not say this perfume is specifically fruity or woody, its just a nice blend.

Magnoliajo

This smells like night time air on bonfire night but in perfume form with a slight hint of berry. I'd say it's a cold weather scent. Liking this a lot so far

bintTapputi

This is a lovely, dark and mature sweet-bomb type scent. It's in the same lane as many other sweet/floral/fruity cocktails but it offers something a little bit more nuanced, grown up and interesting. I love the first hour of it on my skin. Very deep, very rounded. Woody and sweet plumb. I don't really get much of an 'oud' aroma out of it, it's very low and buried, there is something that is certainly woody about the fragrance and it does want to be the star of the show but it seems like it's uncertain as to how to catch the spotlight. The dry down isn't spectacular but it's pleasant and unassuming. I like this perfume, but it also seems like to me that it doesn't really know what it wants to be. I would however be delighted to have a bottle. I think it would make a great new "dumb reach" for me. 7/10

rydoo80

I'm going to start off by saying I'm not a fan of MK fragrances... but this, this is GLORIOUS! It's sweet but not sugar sweet... it's more of a fruit sweetness with the smoky Laotian oud and that bit of praline, so fantastic! You only need a spray or 2 to last all day with moderate sillage. To me, this is a fragrance for a bad b*tch.. a motorcycle riding, carefree, March to the beat of their own drum type of chick. It's sexy, it's mysterious, it's everything I could ever want! For reference, to me, it smells like the naughty lil sister to Oud Bouquet. Not a dupe but definitely same family. And that bottle... gorgeous on my nightstand

iamoir

The bottle looks purple, the perfume smells purple, or it is my idea. Unisex for sure and will definitely work in colder weather. There is an intensity to it, that I didn't expect but it is pleasant once it settles and dries down, into a woody, somehow smokey, winey and "christmassy" scent overall, if you let it unfold through the mainstream sweetness; sad to say so but yes. Patchouli sweetness and generic saccharine berry for starters and roasted tonka bean as well.
Lasts for ever with noticeable projection.

Christycaxxx

I don’t know why it took me so long to find this but after a year I finally found it! And it was worth the wait.
So upon first sniff I got a fruity sweet smell that reminded me of all the gourmand fragrances in my collection. When my husband had a sniff he detected oud most. It has good lasting power and is still on my skin after my shower. Definitely a scent for cooler months as it has the tendency to be headache inducing in warm weather.

AnitaHendricks

When I tried to guess the notes I was thinking about a deep, purple plum, patchouli, cranberry, something musky and something woody. This would be perfect during the fall and winter. It's warm, sweet and engaging. People want to be near you when you wear this.

gmstrack

Twilight Shimmer (Eau de Parfum) by Michael Kors opens with a densely packed blast of designer sweetness. The opening reminds me of a fruity patchouli fragrance, but without floral notes. Vanilla and generic fruity notes dominate during the opening, but it is clear that there is a woody accord screaming for help under all of the designer mall candy. Eventually, the fragrance unfolds and reveals a bold smoky accord that sticks around long into the dry down. I’m not getting oud, just smoke and a touch of woods that could be mistaken for patchouli. The candy-smoke combo reminds me of By the Fireplace by MMM. This fragrance could work for someone who likes sweet fragrances or dislikes florals. I wish that I could detect the oud in the fragrance. I can’t, so this is not going on the full bottle list. On the other hand, I can really see Twilight Shimmer working on the right person. Performance is decent, the bottle is beautiful, and the price is fair.

karlee79

this is extremely rich, I get alot of incense and oud , but yet a thick syrupy sweetness , like sucking on a sweet candy forever and needing a drink of water. It lasts forever , use sparingly , I will definitely be buying this for winter , so jammy and bold and sexy, you have to be a sexy woman to wear this one ladies

Princess

I dont think this is a bad fragrance, its sweet, i like it :) It does not smell like Thierry Mugler Alien. I also dont think its unisex like some pointed out. So i think this is good!

lmwimsatt

Wow I'm surprised there are so few reviews on here. This perfume is absolutely nauseating to me. Just saccharin sweet and gaggy. Perhaps nobody bothwrs to review it simply because it's so bad. But negative reviews are helpful to the consumer so I just gotta be honest. Maybe it's the laotian oud note I dont care for, even though I love regular agarwood oud... who knows?

Ctclough

Tested this at Ulta today and I was pleasantly surprised. I struggle with most sweeties but this one is beautiful. It's a sheer, white sugar, plum scent with just a tad of smoke. It smells like you'd picture the dark sister of the Sugar Plum Fairy would smell. To compare, this strikes me as a more sheer, more feminine yet smoky cousin of Decadence. It's a sweetie from start to finish but the smoke keeps it in check and it is never cloying. The contrasts intrigue my nose. She doesn't decide if she wants to be naughty or nice so she is unapologetically both. More sexy than luxe. It would be a good evening or winter fragrance, as it has strong sillage and good longevity. This would be a good one to try if you like Decadence, if you want a contrasted sweetie *without* patchouli, or if you are a dark fragrance lover wanting a lighter crowd-pleaser. I may have to add this to my want list!

angiec777

I just discovered this one today and was very pleased. I'm a huge fan of it's predecessor, Midnight Shimmer and this one is almost as enjoyable. I say enjoyable because I wouldn't say nice or refined or lovely. It's just a charming fragrance that will bring an unexpected smile to your face. It's a bit dark, because of the plums, I'd say. It's boozy and I honestly expected champagne to be listed as a note for this one.

Gellert77

Well, this one made me smile! It was as if I were immediately transported to the UAE!

If I were to try to explain someone who has never experienced a Middle Eastern scent, what I understand as one, I would use this as an example. Oud, oud and once again oud! ;-D

Longevity is Ok, but does not compare to the perfumes/oils (often third of the price of the MK scent!) that you can get from the Middle Eastern perfume houses (e.g. Al Haramain, Swiss Arabian, etc.) Same with sillage.

I also find this a bit linear, I wish I could get more of the fruits and praline. The bottle is very pretty.

What an interesting release from Michael Kors. Compares to nothing I have ever tried from the house before!

Ps:As a fragrance, has absolutely nothing to do with _Midnight_ Shimmer, which is a _much_ softer scent.

TowerOrchard

I picked this up as a blind buy at TJMaxx. I'm not usually a fan of Michael Kors scents, but the notes sounded interesting enough to give it a try. I am SO GLAD I did, because Twilight Shimmer is gorgeous. There is a strong blast of plummy fruit in the opening, but it quickly settles down and blends perfectly with a rich oud. Several reviews called this unisex, but to me, it is all sophisticated woman. It has great sillage and it lasts, so tread lightly when you spray - a little goes a long way. For my sensibilities, it's a little too strong to be work appropriate, but perfect for fall evenings. Oh, and the bottle is a pretty addition to my collection - I am a fan of the sparkly purple!

evatgirl73.1

Spied and tried this at Ulta the other day. I am usually not the biggest MK fragrance fan, for whatever reasons they don’t work for me or wow me, but this one is really nice. I can’t really pinpoint notes other than it was really pleasant on me. Appropriately named, I feel this is nice for going in towards fall, a more cozy, lazy evening type fragrance. I won’t search this out at full price, but if I see it at discounters in a while I will definitely buy it!

JackieM

Fruity, oud-y, really rich and resinous. Sweeter than the previous "Midnight Shimmer", but also sharper.

Twilight is a good name because it also works for fall. For summer it feels too overdone. Whoever voted for the Jo Malone Velvet Rose Oud makes a good comparison, though I wouldn't say these are very similar like duplicates. They are both dominated by oud and both have the same kind of jam like appeal. The DNA is similar and the depth is similar but they are more like cousins.

Jestme

I just went to ULTA to sample this. It is very strong at first. Something about this is powerful and sophisticated. Nearly unisex. The plum never made an appearance to my nose. What came to my mind was a very expensive chocolate desert at a high end restaurant (and dark wood architecture). It has been over six hours and it still has a faint lingering where I sprayed it, but all sweetness has left and it is only wood now. I love it. Maybe not as a daily or signature but for an impressionable date night with a confidant attidue.

VioletNoir

OMG im excited about this one

I LOVE the bottle....my name is violet and even tho purple isn't my favorite colour I still feel an affinity with the colour violet and I like it a lot just not my favorite colour

and the notes look just like something that I would like fruity...with a little vanilla and creaminess

do u have any idea where it is being sold?

PepePurFume

This is not a review. I am so excited to try it! Just like Eaugirlspirit posted, I want the bottle! Michael Kors fragrances have worked well with my body chemistry. I’m hoping this one will too. If someone has sampled it, please review it. Thank you kindly...

Eaugirlspirit

I want this for the bottle alone!!!!!
