I'm not really familiar with panettone scent or notes but this one smell like photorealistic lemon cake
I like it, i just can't justify the price because the SPL is just okayyyyyyy on me.

Velvetta

It's actually the most realistic gouromond scent i have ever smelled, wow. It's literally what it's claiming to be - purely realistic scent of this specific cake - it's really impressive and worth to experience even if it's not something you would normally wear.

er1cah

You have to love the panettone cake to love this because the fragrance is an extremely literal take on it. This has to be the most photorealistic gourmand I’ve come across ever. For me personally, I’m not the biggest fan of buns and dry cakes, including panettone, so this is not on my buy list. For the panettone cake and gourmand fragrance fans though, this is a jackpot.

The quality of the liquid is very high! Nothing artificial here. That has been my experience with all the fragrances I’ve tried from this house and my two favorites are Basilica and La Prima. Check those out if Panettone is not it for you 🫶🏻

vanillefraise

Not safe for blind buy. I expect more of orange peel and soft bun likey smell but it stays as smell of licorice candy of Haribo.

ardengardenn

this fragrance is so yummy. it really is a perfect gourmand because it smells like baked goods but not in an unnatural way - it's as if you were just baking a cake. its very forward with the orange and has the backdrop of warm spices. I've found myself wanting to wear it all the time. it definitely leans more intimate/doesn't leave a trail, but i don't mind that. to me the only downside is that it doesn't wear very long.

smellmelater2137

It does smell amazingly like panettone, but on my skin it loses the buttery cakey smells and leaves me with bitter orange peel. For some reason that makes me think of bathroom cleaning products, so it’s a pass for me haha

ladynoro

I've finally found my perfect gourmand. This smells exactly like panettone - warm, yeasty, syrupy, and spicy. My mouth waters when I smell it on my skin. I can't imagine a better scent to wear during the winter holiday season.

Zethre

Very pretty orange and spices. Not really like panettone, but I get the reference.
Sort of like a sweeter, more orangey and less soapy/ metallic version of Like This.

This would be great for winter or rainy weather

Ladym00nlight

The brioche opening lasts literally seconds, then what's left is sweet citrus with some ginger Note. There's something annoying here that rubs my nose the wrong way. Not a safe blind buy abd a bitter disappointment for those craving bakery scents.

*loves_shoes*

I can confirm it does indeed smell of panettone. Or if you’ve ever had the Christmas bread in the Netherlands with the paste inside that you spread over the fruity bread - it smells exactly of that.
I actually love it.
It is very, very sweet, but doesn’t smell too sweet to me - it’s definitely a more bakery sweet and not like a Britney Spears fantasy type.

librashortcake

I am so sad I want to try this so bad but I'm allergic to buckwheat, who uses buckwheat in fragrance?!

Silver Hiccup

I'm so sad that I'm not getting what the others are with this perfume. To me it's quite unpleasant, a harsh opening of bitter orange , ginger and something kind of bitter, pungent (maybe the carrot seed or davana?) It definitely ruins this scent for me. I don't get any bread-iness, any vanilla, no soft, fluffy, doughy panettone. Very disappointed.

Aroverie

Blind Buy Success!! This is panettone 1:1. It is a literal gourmand, no perfumey elements here. If you dont like literal interpretations, dont get this. A little spicy (baking spices), a little bready, sweet, delectable. Like a mix between the batter and the finished product. When I first sprayed this I was blown away! I smell like a literal snack....and I'm not mad. Very happy with my purchase.

mallowmist

To be honest, after reading so many fantastic reviews, I decided to try it. I thought it would be a bit different. Don't get me wrong, the name really speaks for itself, so if you want to smell like panettone, then go for it. It is zesty, citrusy, yeasty. However, it is really strong, not a subtle, delicate scent, so consider that before buying. And unlike many reviewers here, I would say IT IS NOT A SAFE BLIND BUY. It could be fun to try a sample, but I would not consider buying a bottle. So I would say it is super realistic, so I applaud the perfumer, she certainly nailed it, but just consider whether you'd want to smell like panettone :)

Nocciola23

This is a very realistic and pleasant panettone scent. It's so realistic I think it would be hard to wear as a perfume.
It's very cosy and has a yeasty, floury base note which is interesting but just not appealing as a scent to wear on the skin.
Would be nice as a candle.

Greensprite

now this ages well!...put a bottle of this in your cupboard and when you come back you will be very happy.. rich honeyed cakey top notes on the more savoury bready / haylike base. Jeux de peau but a little sweeter in the top.

Vuk12

Aghh, no. I just made huge mistake blind buying this. I need to learn to not read comments, they were so good for this one. Not sure how someone can wear this, like you came out from Panettone bakery. It's horrible for me. I was expecting something more maybe smooth vanilic, like dry panettone smell, gentle. This smell like some wet, not cooked well penettone full of dried grapes or something. So sharp and somewhat sweet smell, I hated it and needed to wash the parfume from my arm after half hour. 🤕🤢 People, definitely try this before you buy it. There are sooo many better options out there to smell like. Not sure who would want to smell like pannetone. Now I know, me definitely not. Not sure why I was expecting to smell like something nice, like PDM Althair.... 🤣

Goldena35

This is beautiful! Pretty complex drydown to my nose. Starts out bright with the spicy citrus and then settles into a warm (slightly boozy) baked vanilla with hints of herbal florals. Definitely a warm baked doughy bread thing going on here which is not overpowering. It is definitely a PERFUME that leans gourmand for me …not the opposite way. Maybe because it’s not overly sweet. Which I personally prefer. I was surprised this wasn’t voted largely unisex because I think this would be sexy as hell on a man. Totally understand the Christmas associations I have read. It’s well below freezing in my part of the world today and this performed well. I have never tasted the namesake bread but this smell is captivating.
**EDIT** I got a little bit of a tea scent profile in the beginning. Not sure if that was from my personal associations with the ginger/citrus or the combo of that and the herbal like notes.

Angelic3432

I received this as a free sample included in my purchase of some decants and it was love at first sniff!! Omg. Delicious! FB worthy!! Blind buy safe! Gourmand lovers need this in their collection!

mad_mal

THIS WAS A SUCCESSFUL BLIND BUY and I love it! and it became an instant favorite. At first spray, you'll get the citrus candied oranges and ginger. Then it warms up, and you'll get the vanilla... It's sweet and bready - really like panettone bread. I used this every day last December. Absolutely comforting and smells like Christmas.

This perfume is beautiful.
I was afraid I might not like it, but I trusted the nose behind it too much and blind bought it: bull's eye! This is Christmas in a bottle! Candied orange and yeasty cozyness, not too sweet. It's Wheaty like most of Bijaoui's creations for the Jo Malone's English Fields line, so if you like those fragrances and imagine them with added ginger cookies spiciness, you might love this. It doesn't project too much, more at an arm"s length, and stays for 6-8 hours.
Absolutely full bottle worthy. One of my favourites so far ❤️

Maya lilac

Panettone encapsulates the Christmas season and aromas in a medium royal blue bottle. It’s such a warm and gourmand fragrance with a photorealistic candied orange and freshly baked sweet dough evoking the sweet, warm smell from a kitchen when something delicious, like panettone, is baking in the oven.

It’s amazing how well the nose managed to capture the panettone smell in this fragrance and it is still smelling like a fine fragrance. Panettone is a very dense gourmand scent without being saccharine sweet or overly edible. It reaches the perfect sweet spot without becoming an immature or cheap smelling scent.

The first thing that I noticed when spraying Panettone was a very delectable bitter orange candied soaked in rum overnight, a mildly spicy ginger and something else unique that must be the carrot seeds. Very distinctive opening. Can’t say that I perceive the floral notes listed very distinctive but the combination of marigold and immortelle flowers makes this smell very appealing and gives it contrast. I have met this combo in another thick, delightful gourmand scent from Amouage and I suspect that these two flowers work magically together in here as well. Smelling Panettone after about an hour it reminded me instantly of that fragrance. These two fragrances don’t smell the same, but that two flowers combo creates a very specific, particular smell.

There’s a bit of aromatic, herbaceous, balsamic feel mixed into all these delicious and edible notes coming from the davana and the marigold flower. A heavy dose of moderately sweet vanilla in the base rounds up the whole composition.

The performance of Panettone is quite decent, nothing impressive just kind of average. Moderate sillage but it lasts decently, around 6-8 hours on clothing.

Panettone represents to me such a well balanced blend of notes that results in the most delicious, mouth watering, realistic smelling panettone desert.

For an over the top luxurious and 100% gourmand experience I will be layering this with Interlude by Amouage for wear on Christmas Day. It’s gonna be epic!

ntlzhng

I recently revisted my small vial of Panettone because I thought it would be a fitting scent for the holidays. I can appreciate the art behind a hyperrealistic gourmand but I typically don't want to smell like a piece of cake or vanilla ice cream. I remembered enjoying this cent, but this time around, I was blown away by how wearable it is. Panettone is so delightful—it is a bracing, aromatic candied citrus peel with a slight booziness and sweet, yeasted quality. Contrary to what some other commenters are saying, this is one of the rare gourmands that doesn't smell like a Bath and Body Works Warm Vanilla Sugar flanker or Yankee Candle. I love how conceptual but realistic this scent is—it truly captures the essence of Christmas panettone but also takes some creative liberties with davana, carrot seed, ginger, and even...buckwheat? This is definitely full bottle worthy for me!

2G

This is not for me as its heavily leaning feminine but its one of the best perfumes I ve ever smelled in my life WOW!!!

Clancy69

This is my favourite fragrance to date! The most realistic scent ever, I can’t get enough of it.

iro222

My kids (6 years old)said „Mama what is that smell?“ i said what does it smell like and they answered nice!! like applecake 😂 So yes it smells like baked goods and my children are really picky they dont like most of my perfumes so i assume its a good thing? As time goes by it is becoming a very airy, sweet but classy scent i like it. But i really struggled with the opening. It was heavy bittersweet it made me nauseous. With BDK Yacht i had the same effect but it was not that intense for me as panettone. The bottle is beautiful, the smell turns very nice and delectable but for me not a safe blind buy.

frag_nostalgia

Upon first sniff my mouth watered. A delectable scent of orange and dough/starch/grain. More bitter than sweet, mildly spicy-floral due to the addition of marigold and everlasting flower. I get an aroma of rum, and a smooth vanilla, but this cannot be classified as "boozy", per se.

Delicate wear, without massive sillage (which isn't a complaint, as I don't like a gourmand fra to be invasive. They're more for my personal enjoyment). Not something I could envision going through a full bottle of, however I'd happily accept as a gift because the bottle is so pretty.

leaves.n.rain

This is a fruity & citrus heavy fragrance with a slight hint of spice & alcohol. It's a little too warm for my taste, and I think I would like this more if it were sweeter. The davana note is really present, and it gives this a balsamic quality that I dislike. The citrus and fruits almost need something to tone down the acidity (as the davana also lends an acidic quality here). That being said, this is very festive and I can see why people enjoy it. There is an almost bready quality to this, and I think that may be part of the reason why I don't like it. This fragrance almost smells like a candle, but not enough that people would think you were wearing a room spray if you used it.

dcjimr

I absolutely love this and get the orange and ginger quite well. To me, this is not a straight-ahead gourmand and the fresher notes make this something other than "bready." I've re-sprayed this 3 times today because I can't get enough. It lasts really well, so there really wasn't a need to re-spray...I just love it that much.

antinousmondragone

This one made me smile! I was dying to try this as soon as I heard about it because panettone is the quintessential nostalgic holiday scent for me. Was initially worried when I first put it on as the combination of dried fruit, citrus, and sugary vanilla was reading more Bath and Body Works holiday candle than panettone - it's loud, sweet, and synthetic. After about 10-15 minutes it mellowed out and I began to get the toasty bready notes which temper the sweetness a bit and really do make it smell as though you've just opened the door to an oven full of fresh baked goods. As someone who's not a huge fan of sugary gourmand scents, this isn't something I'd wear out, but I'll definitely be picking up a small decant to wear around the house over the holidays for the nostalgia factor!

fvnaticbychoice

this is a gorgeous conceptual fragrance. reminds me of holiday spices going in the kitchen, familial chatter around the fire, etc. loving these “Christmas in a bottle” scents!

Helvetica

Sadly, this turned really synthetic on me and I was reminded of scratch and sniff stickers. Im starting to think my nose/body chemistry doesn’t pair well with these types of fragrances :(

eefs

Although fairly realistic, especially the opening, it dries down a touch too candle-ish for me. I think it's the cake/bread element that's not quite sitting right. Definitely a winter fragrance anyway, I didn't like it at all in when I tried it in the warmer months but now I will happily finish my sample.

Kathie_KW

I love this so much. Really really good if you like gourmand and spices. Very well done. Great layered with Sweetly Known by kerosene. It's my cozy, curl up in bed and have the sweetest of dreams scent. Hot drinks fireplace and snowy trees - ultimate hygge!

aniton

Sooo good! Panettone opens very gourmand but dries down to a wonderful, addictive warm and sweet magic. At first there is this cakey bakey feeling to it, but it transforms into a sensual, warm, fruity scent which is so wonderful, it quickly became a favourite of mine this fall. There is a holiday vibe to it, but it's super wearable, I enjoy wearing it to the office as well. Words can't do it justice.I am clearly a fan of Mathilde Bijaoui.

Fenissa

You can give me this beauty over Xerjoff's Italica any day, and I say that with no disrespect as an avid Xerjoff fan.
I will be wearing my bottle of Panettone a lot over the Christmas season. It is utterly divine!
The perfect Winter gourmand for me. The only problem I have is getting weird looks from people because I spend an inordinate amount of time burying my nose in my wrist.
Unisex and long-lasting with moderate silage.

Bordo

Upon initial spray I do get some quite realistic panettone. But also I'm getting some sweet and happy and a bit gourmandy ladies perfume, which maybe I've smelled some 15 years ago. Reminds of some sweet pistachio / caramel scent, like Sol de Janeiro. But also there some floral notes or so it is not a true gourmand to me, it is not fully edible or primarily panettone scent, rather otherwise. If has some oily quality to it, so maybe that's what makes it smell like food to some. The oiliness is a bit sour even. Does not smell particularly sweaty, but did not wear well once I got sweaty in a workout..

Peffrey

This is how you make a gourmand, smells like you just opened the oven and you can smell the caramilzed bread with orange peel and fruits.
Had such a pleasant experience wearing this, because it fulfilled me with feelings of entering a rustiqe backery during the colder seasons.
Would recommend to anyone who enjoy wearing gourmandes.

Acarin

It’s the most unique scent I’ve smelt.
I definitely smell orange and ginger. It’s like an orange ginger bread.

I’ve tried pannetone before and I don’t remember it being so unsweetened. I feel like this perfume is too bready.
I’ve never smelt davana before, but I guess that’s what overpowers the fragrance.
Glad I got a small sample. My nose might be too newb for this one 😄

It settles down to a bubble bath scent for me, I have no idea where that’s coming from. Like a hot steamy fragranced bath.

alternateu

Well, I've never smelled anything like this. This is a classic example of a truly niche perfume.
I was expecting a sweet, candied-fruit type bread. On my skin, what I suspect is the davana REALLY comes through and gives the entire perfume this herbal, very bitter undertone. It doesn't smell like bread or citrus. In fact, the bitterness is so strong that to me it actually smells like those medicinal Chinese soups.
I'm disappointed :/ If only I had the chemistry to get whatever other people are getting.
I suppose I'll have to try it on another day, but right now, getting traditional Chinese medicine vibes.

Scent: 3/10 - perplexing.
Projection: Moderate
Longevity: Good
Polarity: Firmly unisex

astrorocks

This is my first year living in the US after many years in Europe and I MISS panettone. So, when I saw this fragrance, I knew I must try this. For me, it is (almost) photorealistic panettone. It takes me back to days spent having dinner with friends, before everyone leaves for their holidays (the Italians, for at least a month). We are sitting around baking cookies and shoving them into little decorated baggies with gold ties for Christmas presents. This immediately hits me with Christmas spices - cinnamon, cloves, ginger, orange. And what is, for me, very impressive is I actually can smell the bread, even on the dry down. It has been in my experience VERY hard to get notes like bread or buckwheat to come through and this perfume manages. It remains complex and just like I smelled it fresh out of the bottle. It is somehow gourmand and edible, but not overtly so or sickingly so. The spices and orange tamp it down to keep it very wearable. Sillage is pretty moderate and longevity is good (4-5 hours). This is a 9/10 and I am definitely buying a bottle. Very nostalgic in the best way possible

Dive_Space

This is the most accurate gourmand that I've come across thus far. A beautiful blend of citrus' and florals that really just smells like the name. I find the spicy ginger off the top a bit cloying, It's almost a little tobacco-ey. It's far more palatable after about an hour making you smell like delicious baked goods.

RkyMtJax

Excellent take on the Italian Christmas cake. The opening is citron and vanilla, but the dry down is annisette and pastry…maybe some toasty wood. It projects, but not too much. It’s realistic and very sweet, but sophisticated. It smells like an old-fashion Italian Brooklyn bakery. Very special.

dj71

This is a sweet gourmand that would absolutely be a great scent to wear around the winter holidays. Warn and cozy. Yes, it is citrus forward, but not in that summer frag kind of way. If you are familiar with the taste and smell of panettone bread, this is a great scent match to it. Dry down almost smells like gingerbread with citrus in the background. A comforting fragrance.

Bibi16

This smells nice but a tad too citrusy for me, and can be tiring after some time of wearing it. Was testing it yesterday but it was so loud, potent it was overwhelming and would not leave my arm after 3 washes. Not sure if I like it or hate. Not blind buy safe

joeyj0jo

Panettone was a blind buy for me. I love eating panettone at Christmas time with the Italian side of my family -- so considering that and the great reviews, I knew it would be a safe blind buy for me.

I love this fragrance. It is a gourmand, but not obviously so. I don't feel like I am walking around smelling like Christmas bread -- so if you are worried about that, you don't have to be. It is a comforting, warm citrus scent. And to me, the heavy citrus makes Panettone suitable to wear in all seasons. The opening is sweet and syrupy, which I enjoy, but that calms down quite quickly, and I am left with a soft rummy orange rind.

I do top up this scent a few times throughout the day -- mostly because I love to experience the opening. I do wish it lasted and projected a little longer, but I don't mind carrying around an atomiser. I think this may even be signature scent worthy for me.

UPDATE: Layering with Iso E Super (not Molecule 1, a more affordable version from Etsy) increases the longevity by 2ish hours.

emgailba

I suspect this is the most well blended, most photo-realistic gourmand I've ever experienced. At first I was stunned--it's just like a sweet bread scent. Candied bitter oranges, apple/ginger spice--as many other reviewers mentioned, it reminds one of the holidays, perhaps Christmas punch or hot apple cider with the floating oranges and mulled spices. There's something about this scent that's stunningly well blended, and the boozy base notes really round it out. I'm impressed with this one, but can't see myself wearing this, even on Christmas day. In general, I do not want to smell like Christmas, I do not want to smell like warm, spiced-cider, but I like the conceptual artistry here.

Annabelsnose

I get an initial blast of sweet oranges and the dry down is a sweet bready or cookie smell. Not too sweet, which I appreciate. I get a touch of rum for depth. I really enjoy this but it was gone in two hours. Not sure I would purchase for its lack of longevity.

santiniansia

To me, this walks a fine line between Fanta and creamy orange biscuit. It was love at first sniff when I sprayed a friend's sample on my skin. It smelled like freshly baked orange cookies. So I got a 3mL decant of it. But when I sprayed it on my clothes for the first time, I was confused, because it smelled like orange soda! So now I had doubts about getting a full bottle, because I didn't want to smell like Fanta. But I started wearing it regularly, and I did end up liking it enough to want a full bottle. It's amazing, as long as I spray it on my skin.

Caliscents

Amazing and beautiful gourmand. Just a small touch of a “cake” or bakery scent, but mostly a sweet and spicy boozy orange. Love!

Hartsy3

I got this sample by surprise along with something I ordered online. The first thing I said when I sprayed it was "wow Christmas!" Then I saw that the packaging says "a sweet anticipation of the merry festive season" so clearly this was intentional. Honestly, I had no idea what a "Panettone" was until I Googled it. To me, this is reminiscent of a ginger snap cookie. Very gourmand, spicy and gingery.

Personally, this isn't how I would like to smell unless perhaps it really is Christmas day. But if you love gourmand smells and especially Christmas potpourri type smells, you should try it.

honeymushroom

I love this sooooo much. It's giving Winter of 99 by Kerosene a run for its money for my favorite sweet, comforting gourmand winter fragrance. It is absurdly realistic to its namesake, I get the scent of yeasted bread, vanilla, butter and bitter candied peel.

ava96

I can't exactly pinpoint what it smells like to me. It's not panettone, it is some sort of baked good, but a bit burned/dry... Not sure how I feel about it. I had smelled it before and thought it was great but after wearing it I'm not really feeling it. It's been very cold these days but maybe I should wait for Christmas to truly feel the magic.

JamesxHorne

You get a lot of candied orange and lemon and spices inside of a bready cake. Smells very close to real panettone. Not sure I’d wear it but good fragrance if you love that smell

Verrucosa

Mathilde Bijaoui is a genius. This smells exactly like panettone, and a little like the leftover king cake i'm about to eat today. It has a gorgeously yeasty opening and an impressionistic pastry note sticks around. A lot of orange and ginger and rum. A must try for the gourmand lover. I'm over the moon about this one!

amanda0727

Very sweet, orange-y & spicy, smells like Christmas. Reviewer fondeux below nailed it. This scent profile is more suited for candles. I personally would not want to smell like this. Glad I only got a 10ml decant but I wish I only got a 1ml sample.

Edit: Just want to add that this is an amazing crafted scent, I love Mathilde's work. Almost like Lira. But I still think I would not be able to wear this out so not full bottle worthy for me.

fondeux

Tried a decant from LuckyScent --

Opens with orangey-boozy fall spices which settles into an apple pie scented candle / Glade plug-in. None of the bread notes really came through or flourished on me, which is a shame because I was really looking forward to this!

CallMeT__

Yup, they were not playing any olfactory games with those top notes because you REALLY get that ginger and bitter orange. Very zingy and piney in the opening and some of that rum peaks through as well. I have a feeling that opening may be challenging for a few but I personally enjoy it. Once the notes settle the perfume becomes more realistic to a panettone. Orange rind soaked in some strong rum and yummy candied ginger. Not too sweet but enough to satisfy the craving. Boozier than it is sugary, but also quite different from the boozy perfumes that are currently out there. There’s something slightly herbal, but only enough to add some mystery. Some elements are reminiscent of Immortelle by Manos Gerakinis so I can see them belonging in the same wardrobe. Performance is good, maybe something to reach for in cold weather or at night-time. I imagine this to be stunning on both men and women. To those that care about presentation - the bottle is gorgeous! I recommend this perfume to gourmand lovers who might be searching for an edge to their sweet, 10/10!

aviegravy

this is so realistic and beautiful. you get some zing up front from the citrus and ginger, something fruity like raisin, and then the gorgeous boozy spiced vanilla heart. there is a distinct bready note from the buckwheat, which is a little off putting on my skin. but this is a feat of perfumery.

perfume_angel

This is the most delicious, scrumptious, and realistic smelling gourmand ever! When I first sprayed it I was pleasantly surprised by how accurately this mimics the scent of a real freshly baked Panettone. 🍊🍦🍰

It is sweet, buttery, and has a strong dried fruit base. The dried fruit smells like sweet candied orange and sweet candied ginger. Although it is very sweet and delicious, you get a bit of spice from the ginger which gives it a nice kick and keeps it from getting too sweet. You can also definitely smell the buttery bready texture in this fragrance. I am in LOVE with it and if you love Panettone like me then you should run and try this gorgeous fragrance.

I think every gourmand lover will adore this but if you are not a fan of sweet gourmands then I don’t think you would enjoy it, but then again why purchase a fragrance with the name Panettone if you don’t love gourmands😅

I find it long lasting on my skin with moderate sillage. Also I would reccomend this for winter and fall because it could definitely be too thick and heavy for the summertime.

Overall, if you are searching for a spot on Panettone scent then this is perfect! I must add the bottle is luxe and gorgeous with a magnetic lid.

KiikiKiiki

A truly immaculate and delicious fragrance but poor performance; quickly becomes a skin scent

brennerm222

Spicy candied ginger and citrus with a breadlines and booziness. Reminds of a spicy pancake. Delicious.

QuidCollector

Smells delicious, makes me want to consume myself, does make you smell like actual food however

betsyglez8

This smells like orange sugar cookies , with some cinnamon , very warm yummy baked type of scent it’s very realistic gourmand ,

Panettone in a perfume! This wonderful fragrance smells like boozy, sweet bread with candied orange peel and dried fruits. Good silage and longevity. The perfect fragrance for Christmas.

Boozy cookie dough that smells like a yankee candle. 5/10

Very similar to Woodstock by Franck Boclet.

95% the same.

This is a scary realistic representation of panettone. It has so much depth and character to it. It smells like comfort, winter and spending time with family. I would spray this all over my house during Christmas time. I love it.

AquaBaby5

This is actually very similar to Teisenddu, but it is less sweet, a bit more floral, and overall the citrus and orange notes are not as realistic, more artificial. Bottom line less gourmand and a bit more… potpourri-ish? Like walking into a store with a mishmash of holiday candles, rather than literally smelling like a unique festive dessert. For those reasons I prefer Teisenddu.

It's always the samples I look forward to the most that disappoint me so bitterly.

On paper: briefly citrus, then sweet, unbaked, musty dough and later something sickeningly salty is added. No thanks.

On my skin: salty butter pretzel. Yuck. After 30 minutes this somehow reminds me of Pèche Cardinal from MDCI. My mind is playing tricks on me.

Immediately upon receiving, I sprayed this on my arm. I'm unable to tell you any other details because I ate my arm off. They did an awesome job on recreating a Panettone - bottom line this smells YUMM! This fragrance is the perfect gourmand (Not super kiddie sweet, not girly sweet, not sugar, or frosting sweet but refreshingly semi-sweet). LOVE NOM NOM NOM

Another well done fragrance by nose Mathilde Bijaoui ..... opens with a lovely orange so neat with rum, boozy potent and later drys down to the wheat and carrot ... A perfect picture painted of Panettone the italian bread

very unique scent , i love the notes , not smelt anything like this before..

I got the sample from a friend and am sure will be getting the bottle soon

Not sure where the comparisons with Italica have come from! They've done a great job in trying to replicate the smell of Panettone :) sweet but not overly sweet

Sweetasgodiva

This smells nothing like Italica! Fresh, sweet oranges 🍊 shock the senses, the bitter peeks out. The other delicious notes meld together to create a goodness hard to describe. I believe the ginger, carrot seeds, buckwheat, and the flowers 🌺 create a balance that keeps these beauty from the dreaded cloying sweetness most dread! A winner!

By the plethora of positive reviews, I had high hopes for this one. Sadly, all I got was spices on my skin—very strong spices. Not an iota of sweetness. Above average longevity, but this would never suit me.

This just makes me want to eat a big slice of panettone. It is so realistic. It opens with a huge hit of mandarin and rum. The mandarin is soon replaced by booze-soaked fruits. There is something bready in there too, perhaps the buckwheat. This definitely smells edible but not at all sugary. I am really glad there is nothing aromatic going on, due to the davana because I was a bit worried that there might be some sharper notes in there. However there aren’t. This is pure comfort in perfume form. It leans feminine because it is quite sweet. It is good for autumn and winter. It projects pretty well so a little goes a long way and longevity is 8 hours.

I love the opening that brings a kick of bitter orange and rum. After this settles, it does smell very sticky, bready and nutty. It smells like spiced dried fruit mixed with rum. I was pleasantly surprised by how much this smells like fall. It's like smelling cinnamon apple pie baking. Not so much panettone but still delicious

mead_knight

This smells so delicious! I was wowed from the first sniff. It's the mix of orange and baked goods plays so well with the rum note. I love this and will be ordering a full size soon.

I agree with OTA Mom. All I could do was close my eyes and smile. I know I won't be able to wear this until the fall but I couldn't wait. I had to get it. And to matinam83, no, it is nothing like SL 5 o clock au gingembre. 5 o'clock is heavy with spices. Panettone is light, citrusy and spicy with the vanilla coming in from the background.

OTA Mom

A high quality gourmand that features a sharp orange note adorning delicious baked goods. The kind of scent that makes you close your eyes and smile.

I originally got this as a sample with my purchase of Love & Crime from LuckyScent. I love gourmand-y/bakery scents, as I am a baker and vanilla is my forever go-to. I was a little hesitant at first because like other reviews mentioned, it's a bit of a smack in the face, and almost too boozy/sweet, but WAIT. The dry down is OMG delicious! This is definitely a holiday or cold weather scent. This will be too much in warmer months. And the staying power was pretty impressive. I washed my hands several times and could still smell it on my wrists. I won't be purchasing a bottle right now since we are headed into Spring, but it is on my wish list for the next holiday season. If you are looking for something comforting, warm, slightly fruity and sweet, and absolutely unique, this is right up your alley. Highly recommend!

this is gourmand done super right! delicious!

the smell of candied oranges and spices. a dash of booze and generous vanilla. oh yum!

forgettingaboutit

A month before I got this, I was eating panettone and wishing there was a way to bottle that heady scent you get when you open a box of it. One sample purchase later, I am blown away by how perfectly they recreated the smell! Immediate strong rum and candied orange-- in fact, my first impression was that the scent was a little *too* cloying, the candied fruit kind of smacking me in the face and drowning everything else out. But never fear, after half an hour I started to get some of the bready, vanillic base notes that really anchor the scent. After that I was more and more thrilled with the just-out-of-the-bakery scent that kept floating up from my wrist, so warm and cozy and indulgent and holiday-y. I was even more happy when, after a full night's sleep, my wrist and pajama sleeve still smelled of the incredible cozy drydown, vanilla and bakery and something deeper that might be the florals coming in (though this is definitely not what I'd call a floral scent!). The opening is exciting and technically correct but the drydown close to the skin is my favorite part. I'm sad I only bought this after the new year, it's a cold-weather, pre-holidays scent for sure. I can't really see myself wearing it out-- but boy, am I gonna enjoy spraying it on a night in!

A wearable, not overly sweet, but restrained gourmand.
