Lemony to my nose

Tea Tonique is a spot on name for this fragrance. I’m pretty weary about predominantly citrus fragrances but this is very unisex. It feels so relaxing and makes me happy and uplifted, but sits close to the skin and you’d need to overspray with this one and keep it on hand when you’re on the go to respray throughout the day. I honestly want this, but I wonder if there’s a fragrance similar to this with better performance…

astralmonad870

Beautiful scent. Smells somewhat similar to Neroli Outrenoir by Guerlain which also features a smoky black tea note. The middle part of the drydown where the peach blossom emerges is absolutely beautiful as it brings out a luscious fruit aroma.

Update: Yet another pricy perfume I've added to my collection. Longevity is less than an hour but I thought the peach blossom note was irreplaceable. Also, this perfume reminds me very much of Un Jardin en Mediteranee by Hermes which has totally different notes except for the sharp citrus at the top.
I also have a small bottle of the matching lotion that I got for free and it's wonderful.

Dmiddy

Very realistic tea scent. Light and fresh with zero staying power. I wouldn’t buy it, but I appreciate it.

gjdar

it reminds me of a fresh cut bitter orange with a hint of black tea. it is a very lovely and comforting smell, especially wearing on a gray day in winter to remember what it's like to sit in the sun. it's unfortunate that it only lasts a couple hours on my skin. for that reason, it is probably not worth the price, but i am very tempted to buy the hand soap or lotion

clemmy

Perfect summershine fragrance. Uplifting citrusy lemon tea in a bottle. It is refreshing and gives energy in the morning. Office safe. I really love it. Recommended 5/5

Gulsah Sezgin

Pungent tea and petitgrain. Very long lasting imo.

dobbyleung0313

i get quite a lot of citrus lemon, can buy

Shpeeep

Crushed lemon seed sour, petitgrain and peach blossom light summer breeze, iced unsweetened green tea. How you wish a day spa smelled. If you went on a first date (regardless of your gender preferences) after work on a hot sticky summer's day, and your date showed up and smelled like this, you'd be delighted at the fresh clean icy-but-not-aquatic vibes. It's an inoffensive and slightly creative take on a clean refreshing unisex summer fragrance, but I can't imagine wearing it outside of the muggy days where you can't wear your signature and 3.5/4 season faves. Part of whats so delicious about it is the comparison to how other people smell at the end of a humid day 🫣 you're not supposed to say it, but it's true.

I'll enthusiastically use my sample, and if I could afford a larger collection this would DEFINITELY be a contender for a high summer scent.

Odor Aeternitatis

Citrus green tea
This is all you should expect from this fragrance: green sour citrus tea without anything else. You can feel the presence of tea on the top and a little bitterness from petitgrain. It might be too green for some people and to me it's only wearable during hot weather. Everything is in average for this one, scent, performance, etc. It's not my cup of tea.

The top notes are very reminiscent of lemon tea, which I absolutely love. However, they don't last too long and gradually transform into a subtle tea scent that I find quite ordinary. The longevity and projection are both weak. For a unisex fragrance at this price point, I would prefer the performance of Un Jardin Sur Le Nil by Hermès.

Smell : 7/10 - Like the top notes
Performance : 7/10
Uniqueness : 7.5/10 - Special
Longevity : Weak
Sillage : Intimate
Value : 6/10 - A little overpriced
Personal score : 7/10

Lime is not listed in the notes but something in the lemon-tea-bergamot combination translates as lime to me - its like a lime and gin and sugar drink with a hint of spice in the periphery. Its nice, the sweetness (from musks?) makes it leaning flatter and more sugary rather than crispness and dryness you sometimes get from tea-citrus fragrances. Longevity on my skin chemistry is not great. Its nice but its not love.

BellaSmella

Like a refreshing Iced Tea on a Summers day - so quenching and uplifting! 😊😋☀️

Rav Pahud

masculine, light, yummy tea... somehow the middle & base note mate put some depth on it... i would wear this at home after shower and freshen up in the evening for dinner in the park during spring/summer.. the smells simply classy.

NecessaryExistence

We got this in a shower gel, conditioner and shampoo. It is one of the most wonderful scents my wife and I ever came across. We tried to get the perfume here in Canada but it’s next to impossible to get. Highly recommend if you can get it!

elakaysniff

I do like this fragrance, but not on me. I love the opening of the fresh, zesty tea and would have bought a bottle of it didn’t develop too much further, but the dry down has something slightly bitter and spicy about it that catches in my throat and leans too masculine for my taste.

QueenieIrenie

Another pleasant and refreshing fragrance from this house. MH seems to do spring/summer fragrances very well. If you are looking for a light, office-friendly, calming yet uplifting tea fragrance, this may be for you. True, this may not pack a punch the way Wulong Cha does, but I don't think it was intended to. I wish longevity were a bit better, but I will re-test when the weather finally warms back up, as this is definitely a warm-weather fragrance, and Wulong Cha is more year-round, IMO.

arizonaruby

I got a sample of this. From what I can tell it’s a nice zesty citrus-green scent, but honestly the sillage is so soft I can barely smell it. I get a bit of the citruses and a bit of tea, but I have to press my nose against my wrist to even smell that and it disappears within an hour. The notes sound great but the execution lets it down.

Eunibomber

It’s likable for sure, in a universal way. It was also familiar and nostalgic but I couldn’t quite place it until a couple of hours later when it finally dawned on me that it reminded me of Mickey D’s lemon iced tea from decades ago, only with a more jasmine/floral element! I haven’t had said tea for decades so I can’t say if it’s still on the menu or whether it smells the same. It’s a pleasant scent, but I can’t justify the price tag on this one.

Jane Kong

Wulong Cha has a way stronger and creamier trail than this. Literally couldn’t smell it on myself after spraying it for 10 minutes.

vanillamoss

Tea on tea on tea. Refreshing, a tiny bit spicy, effortless. I want to bathe in it.

MamanAnna

Tea Tonique is, indeed, similar to Wulong Cha. However, I find TT to be a little smoother and cozier. All of the bright and clean notes of citrus and tea with the hint of spring blossoms and nutmeg giving a gentle wink. Even though WC’s performance is superior, I will be decluttering in favor of TT.

PostitBoy

This is very nice and reserved fragrance - smells rich!
Now that 'Bvlgari au the rouge’ (one of my favourites) is discontinued, this is a great alternative. I have a sample and this is the perfect EDP version of Bvlgari au the rouge (cologne) + Hermes Un Jardin En Mediterranee (Edt).
Office friendly, safe, non-offensive, reserved and rich- Must have in the summer collection if you want to move away from typical Blues.
Get it before is gets discontinued.

derby2169

A very British citrus tea fragrance, going for that shimmery zesty bergamot earl grey feel, but like other Miller Harris fragrances, it works only in the opening.
After about 10 mins or so I get a strange rice-like note, at first I though it was the nutmeg, but it isn't, it is a note I am familiar with.
It ended up reminding me of sticky Thai rice balls wrapped in warm banana leaf, it's very off putting and oddly flat.

Cherry_Darling

Beautiful tea bergamot scent with subtly sweet floral and nutmeg undertones - you really can't go wrong with this scent profile in my books, and I'm starting to think I need to own a tea specific scent that is not spicy chai! Let's see how this one lasts and which notes dominate the drydown, as that will seal (or break) the deal! Anyhow I'm putting this onto my best of tea scents. Drydown: Tea, mate, bergamot going strong! Slightly soapy drydown, but in a posh, fresh way. Good contender for next spring buy.

Sniffathon

So fresh and refreshing! I could definitely see myself dousing myself in this in the high heat of summer to uplift a sluggish mood. It has just the right amount of spice to elevate it. Overall it’s nothing that special but something I’d see myself reaching for often for a pick-me-up. Currently working with a sample vial but for the right price would purchase.

DS9Dax

Nice clean bright, more on the green tea side. Easy grab for hot summers.

Bedtimestory

3 sprays and a paisley shirt in the mediterranean summer.

Yes it's smokey, but the best kind of smokey, one for those that enjoy a freshness too. Superb performance, really sophisticated. Gorgeous.

Miumori

this smell very similar to jo malone earl grey n cucumber. I like it :)

Did they reformulate tea tonique in the past 2 years?
I first bought a bottle of 14ml tea tonique as it ran out of 50ml at my outlet -- I tried it in a tester set and fell in love.
After a while, it came back in stock in my local Sephora for its old price (it's price had gone up in most outlets and in MH stores) so I snatched it up, happy to have grabbed it before inflation.
But comparing my small 14ml and 50ml, I found that the 14ml has another fragrant layer that is missing in the 50ml, making the 50ml smell borderline bug spray like in comparison.
I am sure that my 15ml is a new batch as it is in a new bottle -- the old 14ml has the pretty pattern of the larger bottle but the new ones (as seen in the official website) is now a blank bottle with only the name and stuff printed in the front.
I'm just relying on my 14ml now :(

TunyaPe

I wish they would tone down the lemon note as it 'almost' smells like Lipton Iced Tea Lemon (rather than high-quality tea). I do not dislike it though.
Thanks to petitgrain and mate for some green, herby, aromatic, and bitter touch that adds some depth to the scent.
It is still a pass.

Mt.Carmel

I tried so hard to like this. and make it as one of my signature scent.. but :(

One day i was buying some perfumes and saw this Tea tonique in display so i sprayed it on the strip.
its was nice indeed, but not memorable enough. so i ended up buying other perfumes.
but i always take those strips back home. and that night i smelled it again and wow.. this was signature scent worthy.
i couldnt get over that TEA like scent. but unfortunately i already bought 2 perfumes that month (i limit myself like that)
so i couldnt buy it! for a month i was always thinking about this TEA TONIQUE.. i was longing for that scent again..

finally the next month i bought it! i was so happy and excited. even the bottle was so beautiful.
the day i got it i sprayed it on my wrist and clothes 3 times...

my first impression was, YES this is the TEA scent that i was longing for! but wow its so strong..
it was quite different from that strip i remembered..
like how the person bellow me said, if you see it in a kinda negative way, its as strong as some 'bug sprays'

as i spend more and more time i started to get headaches.. my head was hot.
at that moment i knew.. unfortunately this was not for me.

so sad. but dont get me wrong this smells SO good. :')

bergamotted

A refreshing light citrus tea with some spice, however I also found it reminiscent of bug spray. The opening faded within seconds and I was left with a woody dry down which, while not unpleasant, was not what I'd hoped this fragrance to become.

This is a skin scent on me and I had to bring my wrist up to my face to get any whiff of it.

LawmaLlama

Ah, this is a sip of a citrus ice tea on a hot summer day. Refreshing, cooling, and a bit of spice. I think that's the mate I'm picking up. Adore this, will pick up a full bottle soon.

BeardedIris

Fake plastic flowers ("peach blossom") and iced tea drying to a polished warm accord. It opens quieter and tea-like with some green from the petitgrain but finishes as an absolutely huge musk scent. Tea Tonique would suit an unretiring egomaniac who likes to dominate the room. Kind of fun really. Definitely worth a try

Ardamiactadh

Muskbomb.

For me it shares an opening with Le Labo Bergamote 22 and the Mercedes Benz cologne. The citrus has a grapefruit aspect - it is a little heavier than pure lemon/bergamot - I think it might be an unlisted vetiver lurking beneath.

Later on the cedar is apparent - not quite so realistic as Le Labo The Noire 29 (and without the fig).

It doesn’t give me a strong impression of tea - probably because I’ve never drunk tea that smells of musk.,,

SailorV

This is nothing I would have sought out on my own, but someone send me a sample in a swap. What a nice surprise it is!
Ice tea in the two classic flavors of peach and lemon, with a hint of bergamot, mixed up and served in a wooden cup. It's higher quality ice tea, not as sugary as the typical Lipton/Nestea/store brand stuff, but still quite sweet. I love any kind of ice tea, so this is great to me.
The woody note in this doesn't reminds me of birch, but of cedar, specifically of the little pieces of cedar wood you can put into your wardrobe to repell moths. We had those when I was a child and I remember I liked their scent, it's different and much better than the typical cedar note in modern fragrances.

So, this is not an average boring green tea fragrance. Refreshing, mouthwatering, original and easily unisex. I don't find this particularly smokey or spicy.

Miller Harris is sometimes available for cheap at TK Maxx, and while I wouldn't pay full retail for it, I will definitely pick up a bottle of Tea Tonique if I ever see it there.

cranky137

Spicy spicy spice tea, very energizing.

If you like goint into a tea store, and smelling different tea varieties - you will like this one.

pppzltn

Smells like tea.

oobunillaoo

this is beautiful. it sits so closely to many other fragrances in the genre but its anchors are wonderfully orchestrated. not a game changer by any means, but i do find the presence of tempered birch lends a depth that needs to be experienced on skin to appreciate fully.

it's sparkly, vaguely earthy, and so unmistakably tea at the top and heart, and while that current runs through it the entire duration, the evolution to the base is particularly stunning.

fantastic longevity from 3 spritzes. for something that feels almost watercolourish (think JCE jardin series for hermes) this really seems to hang around.

hesione

not a fan. starting with really sharp citrus then quiet down to sweet fragrance tea. Smells synthetic to my nose and kind of harsh / stiff, not very smooth.

Rawhead

A very nice tea frag with welcoming spices and a citrus zestyness. It's very pleasant to the nose and fresh enough for office use.

There's a smokiness akin, but not similar, to Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver which I guess is the birchwood teasing my nose. The spicyness is warm and inviting and marries well with the green notes.

All in all a fresh scent with a nice tea and birch kicker. Pleasant and inviting.

Undelete

Not my cup of tea ;-)
It smells tea in the opening(what a surprise)
And then smells like a citrusy/ashtray after 1 hour, I guess because of the birch.

IMO there are plenty of alternatives for the money.

fishwife

Very fresh, very light...I really like this one...definitely a day-time perfume with a nice pick-me-up from the bergamot...feels sophisticated yet simple at the same time...

zamir.azam

Got a sample for this, sprays it on my hair and wrist.
Found it similar to any other 'verde' perfume concept.
But spicier.

The scent however keeps coming back now and again, as if reminding me that its there. Will took you off guard as you're writing a paper, listening to your friends problems or as you're walking to your car heading back home.

I like it.

The dry down will still remind you that you're wearing a tea fragrance but with a 'denser' feel to it, like a cumin. As its not stated, it could be the nutmeg.

So i got it. A bottle. Didnt regret it.

Its a crowd pleasing scent, although my friends didnt take it as a tea fragrance, but generally accepted it, as apposed the other 'heavier' perfume i wore.

There are other great Verde perfume i agree, but this one lightens up a tad different stroke for me.

nada

It does what it says. Tea tonic. It is more citrus that tea.

ScarlettX

It's a good, fresh natural smelling fragrance. There's no wonder, because tea fragrances are almost always good and pleasant smelling to me. I sense it as fresh, green and citrusy. A nice scent, I don't think it's a must have, there are many good and more interesting tea perfumes out there.

d_l_esmond

Gentle, fresh, interesting fragrance. One can detect a slightly bitter take on black tea (some fresh leaf tea in a box generates a fleetingly similar smell). The citrus component takes over and seems to provide the tonique component. Seems quite well balanced, although discreet. Typical of the house's green/herbal signature.
Longevity is ok, sillage is moderate. In the end it develops into a mate/citrus combo.
At all stages, this is polite and moderate.
