It's really too much for my nose. I only smell the tiare, no coconut at all. I wanted to try this one because I like perfumes that remind me of my childhood, of all the holidays spent by the ocean, but this is toxic

michauxelle

My sister had gotten me a soap from Hawaii called Tahitian Tiare... that smelled lovely, soapy and sweet and almost a little nutty. This is quite synthetic, in line with what I'm hearing about most Montale/Mancera fragrances. Its sillage is somewhat off-putting. I have a 5mL decant stored in a dark box, and it fills up the entire box with its smell, despite its cap and being wound with tape. Almost nauseating, but that could be because I'm not in the correct mood or place for this. This could be beautiful on a beach in the Caribbean somewhere, and definitely needs to be exhausted in the open air rather than in an enclosed building or room.

Montale fragrances were amongst the first niche perfumes I had bought about 5 years ago.

I was so in love with Guerlain’s Teracotta, my first ever tiare flower scent, that the second that I found Intense Tiare available for a discounted price, I decided to blind buy it.

In the retrospective, it is not better than Terracotta unless we talk performance. Intense Tiare is indeed intense and very long lasting. And very affordable..

Smell wise, this is very artificial smelling. I am aware that Montale (and Mancera) fragrances have this reputation, and for the most part, I don’t agree. This is artificial, plasticky and not quite natural smelling. Also, it’s better smelled in the air than close to the skin.

Getting over the artificial aspect, it features heavily tiare flower, coconut, ylang ylang, jasmine and rose! It’s very tropical, exotic, holiday like smelling.

Has a stellar performance, it’s the type of room filler scent. I don’t like to wear during high heat because of the synthetic nature but in moderate temperatures it does spectacularly!

I would not recommend this over Terracotta or Holidays or Coco Vanille unless you’re into synthetic smelling perfumes…

Unfortunately, i didn't like the scent :(
I was hoping for a unique coconut smell , and i couldn't find that, i didn't either find that vanilla syrup scent
All what i found was just tiare and almost nothing else!
I didn't like it that much especially for it's price
So dissapointed.
I have intense cafe and it's beautiful and much way better

I have been wearing this on a tropical holiday and it is perfect!

It is intensely floral, especially the ylang ylang and tiare. The jasmine and coconut come off sweet and creamy. You need to like heavy yellow florals. There is a slight “sourness” to it that works in the composition.

Beautiful sillage, stays in a room where sprayed for hours.

I wanted to LOVE this fragrance - it sounded like the perfect summer scent on paper. The first time I smelled it… it almost made me nauseous (VERY sweet, warm, and dense florals). It’s such a CONFUSING fragrance because part of me thinks it’s a grandma vibe, and part of me thinks it’s a tropical princess vibe.

I wanted to give it a chance so I let it sit for a few weeks… it’s not as bad now. It’s a PRETTY scent, but I can only picture myself using this OUTDOORS. It’s too heavy/dense and warm to be used anywhere else but outside, on a breezy, sunny day. The appropriate setting I see this working in is an outdoor tropical resort where you get the smell of fresh air and salty ocean around you to help cut some of the sweet florals in this.

It’s missing an “airiness” and “freshness” to it. I think it needs to be layered with something fresh otherwise it can get nauseating. The florals and vanilla are a tad overwhelming and overpower the coconut. I think the key to this fragrance is using LESS and layering with something fresh and bitter to counteract the extreme sweetness and warmth.

It’s a shame I’m not obsessed with it because the longevity and sillage is out of this world. I won’t give up on it though. I will keep testing this fragrance in different settings throughout the upcoming warmer months.

I recently purchased Holidays by Mancera (a fresher coconut fragrance) and I hope to use that with Intense Tiare (try and balance out the notes).

Leolia

This is beautiful!!
Tiare goddess on a tropical beach!!
This smells nothing like Guerlains Terracotta.
Terracotta is also good but i smell more jasmine in that one than tiare.
This is similar to Yves Rochers Monoi but Intense Tiare is so much better imo.

norajones

Really nice fragnance for a summer vacation. Really tropical and lasts long and projects nicely. Reminds me really of the smell of nuxe dry body oil.

Parfumesa

It’s a white vanilla flower scent and creamy too. Long lasting and the sillage very good . I could smell it after 8 hours on me . And got compliments while wearing it 🫶
I would say it’s a more mature scent if over sprayed , would recommend light spray it cuz it will still be on you even if you become nose blind .

addictpiglet

I have le petit marseillais tiare body wash and these two smell almost identical. I don’t mind, I love that scent and would wear it as a perfume so easy to say this is floral, fresh, lush, and later creamy with the coconut. I will be trying this out once again in the summer to test it against the heat and come back. But I think I found a great scent for the summer.

Dudik

A very feminine perfume and really not unisex.
The smell is very synthetic and chemical and offensive

Denise marie

The fragrance opens up with a beautiful creamy, coconut and vanilla smell and as it dries down you are met with a bunch of white florals that create a divine combination all together.
I am usually a gourmand perfume lover but smelling this for the first time has created a core memory for me. It reminds me of a sunny beach in the summer, pinã coladas on the side and a slight warmth note from the Ylang-Ylang.
The projection is insane,as is the lasting power. On my skin it lasted one entire day and I can still smell it well. Overall one of the best white floral fragrances out there, that smells expensive, refined, elegant yet is fit for any age category. If you had your eye on this fragrance you should definitely buy it!

CoastStarlight

If other, pricier tiare scents are luxe tropical vacations, this is spring break on South Padre: loud, unrefined, synthetic, cheap, but still fun and will take you noon to night in a cloud of tropical-adjacent bliss. There is a surprising powdery aspect here that gives it a bit of a vintage feel, almost like the 80s Giorgio-wearing auntie stopped by to treat everyone to lunch, which classes up the joint some. Big bang for the buck, like all Montales, and a great thing to toss in a beach bag or pack along on a vacation or just shove in your purse when you want to feel young and just a little irresponsible.

herculano

All I can say is people truly don’t know what they are missing by passing up CSP Aloha Tiare for this.

This is a dupe for CSP AT and not nearly as perfect as CSP.

As far as lasting power, I am not even sure this actually lasts longer than CSP. I’d have to test side by side. (In fact, I will do that right now, and will update later).

This is not as well blended as CSP.

All of this being said, my bottle of CSP is 10 years old, so not sure if the formulation CSP is the same today as it was 10 years ago.

I might go noseblind to Intense Tiare. Not sure But I am not finding it very long lasting or beastly, at all.

It’s more beautiful in the air than it is up close.

I prefer CSP. I find it just as if not longer lasting.

There’s no plastic stink in CSP, but there is in IT. I don’t know what it is, but up close IT smells stale and plasticy.

Not a big fan, here.

update: I’ve taken to using this when I am traveling in summer because the metal bottle is more durable than my glass bottle of CSP AT, or my favorite, vintage Sand & Sable.

I took it with me this weekend where I knew it would be in a hot car, and I didn’t want to expose my better perfumes to that, or to banging around in my luggage.

Wearing it this weekend, I noticed it was much better after a couple hours (the plastic chemical scent went away)

For this purpose, it is better than acceptable, and I’ve found a great reason to keep it, but it still is not my favorite.

Sweetfloralbliss

Too powdery and smells like a powerful air freshener like those kind that you used to be able to spray behind your car seats at the wash and this is coming from an oversprayer. I did enjoy my deluxe size sample but I dont think I would buy a FB.

erika.isme.98

Smells like eating Sweet Tarts on the beach! Powdery, ylang ylang heavy with plenty of tiare and jasmine. The rose and coconut float in the background. It is a bit harsh of a smell, but I enjoy it and my partner found it very inviting due to the powdery sweetness.

Encici

Just got a sample today and I was testing this out. My first impression was that it is really beautiful. First spray is heavy in the tiare of course as the name suggests and I really like that. The coconut comes out in the first few mins and lingers in the background quite nicely. Now the coconut is sweet and synthetic, or it is maybe the vanilla, but anyways it's quite sweet. The first hour is synthetic. It doesn't put me off, but not very uplifting either. The sweetness remains and after the one hour mark the synthetic touch starts to calm down and a beautiful exotic blend starts to shine and gets more elegant. At least on my skin. But I know very well that my skin likes the Montale dna. A little bit shampooy and clean smelling for me, it is probably because lately I was using the Yves Rocher monoi shower gel. They will pair easily. After 5-6 hours I missed my beloved Roses Musk, so I added some on the top, and magic.. this concoction become jammy rosey coconutty sweet. Match made in tropical heaven. Intense tiare is not the most refined, sophisticated elegance, but elegant in a feminine, summery, flowy dress with flower in the hair type of way and I'm gonna really enjoy my FB once it arrives:).

peachygal

This is so confusing to me! Sniffing from the bottle it’s all creamy coconut but after applying to my skin and even in dry down is it sharp, a little alcoholy and smells almost a bit dusty?

But the coconut creaminess is still there.

To my shock I received two lovely compliments on this upon first wear so it obviously must work for me.

It’s quite unusual I think that’s why I’m so confused by it.

I will thoroughly enjoy my bottle.

JHart

I wear Intense Tiara every summer, and wearing now in the Florida heat. It's a gorgeous creamy, floral, beachy fragrance. In love with this.

HeatherMuffin

I just love this scent! When I first spray it , when I sniff the bottle, when I smell it dried down, it’s so good! But there is something about it, everytime I sniff deeply to inhale the scent I think in the back of my head maybe I shouldn’t because it’s a poisonous chemical air freshener! And yet I loveeeeee it.
First bottle of a montale and now I understand the reviews about the brand being overpowering & synthetic smelling. I agree.
But this scent!… I don’t have exactly this scent of tiare in my collection yet… I have decants of TF Soleil Blanc & of Terracotta, neither is really a match, very similar, but the Tiare note comes across different in both of those. I have full bottle of Replica Beach Walk and Aerin Hibiscus palm, both have softer tiare notes than Intense Tiara… any way I hope some day I find this same tiare profile… just less air freshenery.

Miazinha

Cree

For all the bad reviews, i have a very positive experience to share…I wear this and my husband is extra attentive to me. All day long he’s giving me the most positive affection. Vacations and pina coladas are on his mind. Don’t complicate it :)

ivorianangel

very nice summer scent . its not too loud when used lightly, the ylang ylang and coconut dry down is pleasant and delicate and its nice to layer with since its a simple list

as the only man wearing this, A+ from me . low-key a beastmode

ChocoLei

Very similar to CSP Aloha Tiaré EDT but more perfumey, fresher, with a little bit less warmth. Surprisingly, I like this more than Aloha Tiaré. Aloha Tiaré smells like a bathroom spray to me. If you like this monoi oil scent profile, I feel like Montale's option is more interesting and pleasant to wear. It's definitely more the most refined perfume but I greatly enjoyed it when I needed my monoi perfume fix.

Great compliment getter as well, beautiful in the summer heat.

wilhelminna

First spray was "WOW!"
Then after 5-10 minutes it start to smell synthetic, like a cheap, but not the worst perfume.
Smell is acceptable only near to me, but when I smelled my arm - it's not good.
This is not what you want. It smells like high quality clothes detergent but not perfumes.
First few minutes it is really white flowers and warm feeling but it's all gone and twist into something wrong.

solarpunk

Syrupy tiare vanilla! A sweet summery white floral.
On similar perfumes: There is no similarity to TF Soleil Blanc at all, there is some similarity to Guerlain Terracotta (terracotta is less sweet and less vanilla-coconut), but this is like a cousin of Mancera Coco Vanille.
I'm considering Coco Vanille for a FB as it's stronger on the coconut, while this is obviously stronger on the tiare.
But this is still really lovely, if you're looking for a sweet white floral with coconut and vanilla hanging out in the backseat. Or if Coco Vanille was too gourmand or creamy for you.

In the drydown the florals really come through, you can smell powdery soft petals and even some green notes (in addition to slightly creamy coconut vanilla) - which Coco Vanille lacks!

Luna_503

If you enjoy TF Soleil Blanc this may be worth checking out. It certainly lives up to the name. It is intensely tiare and tropical white flowers. Not as much coconut or as sunscreeny as Mancera Holidays. As a straight man in my late 30s I have no problem wearing it. Smells great. Last long. Pleasant likable scent.

YouSmells

Will just chime in quickly and agree with the post below me and the many: It's a beachy Soleil Blanc.

As a middle age male, this leans a little too fem for me. Does have the usual Montale synthetic-ness to it that can often be briefly appreciated, but often off-putting in the long run.

Definitely something most people would associate with "beachy."

oenomel

Opens so beautifully with creamy vanilla tiare, then dries down exactly like sunscreen -- with all the diesel-like chemical notes. So disappointed.

Edit: I layered it with a simple vanilla scent and this turns very beautiful.

Lejaffet

My mom just bought me this for Christmas and this is Soleil Blanc from Tom Ford but done better. It projects like a mf, and smells amazing omg the best sunscreen smell ever. The opening gives lily of the beach by Clinique, but quickly drys down to a creamy white floral coconut JUST like Soleil Blanc. I sprayed both on each hand and they smell nearly IDENTICAL, TF Soleil Blanc is a bit more spicy but the sillage from both smells exactly the same. I had tried Mancera’s Holidays, and the vanilla was a bit too cloying and overly sweet, not enough white floral. But THIS is a match made in heaven for me. I fully bought this in search for a replacement to TF Soleil Blanc, and this is just a much better deal for money. QUARTER OF THE PRICE for MORE juice and BETTER PERFORMANCE and exact same smell. 10/10 I bet this is amazing in hot weather.

vintagelover

Very impressive performance wise!

It was a blind buy and I absolutely love it! But had I tested it beforehand, I probably wouldn't have bought it- For me it's too close to Terracotta, of which I have back-up bottles of!

It's a summer flower bomb. Great fragrance!

Chinello23

This is a thick, heady, sunscreen-y white floral. It's summer, in your face, and really fucking nice actually.
I bought a small decant of this to try and find something that would fill the le labo lys 41 sized hole in my heart (I only have a small bottle and am already terrified of running out) and this did the job.

They're not really similar, mostly distant... distant cousins but, I'm glad I found this one along the way for my search of a dupe for that one because it's lovely in its own right.

erika.isme.98

Yummy sunscreen smell.

If this was creamier, sweeter, and more complex, it might be a dupe for my beloved (discontinued) KKW Body II!

But it's not, so it's just a Like for me at the moment...

victoriabarretta

It’s giving what I wanted Prada La Femme to give. It’s summer, lux creaminess but not too ‘mature’ like La Femme.

This is not a light fragrance though, it’s fairly weighty but that helps it last!

carla.b.r

The scent is pure Tiare, but the performance is one of the worst I have experienced, 10 min and it was done

cherubi rubi

292
To me this is an intense sweet tart Tiare with a slight sunscreen aroma. It’s oily too, be warned. The strength is fantastic and I love wearing it on hot days and nights. It’s sure tropical! Today will be 75-F(23-C), pleasantly warm. Getting this in before it gets too cold to wear it.

9/10-intense, blooms in warm heat

Rouge Jasmine

Smells like bond no 9 Central Park west (pretty much a dupe) or Saks for her (also pretty close). It’s got the same stinky flower I get in those two mentioned perfumes.

Other similar perfumes to this…light di gioia, loubikiss, Heartless Helen.

If you’ve smelled any of those you’ve smelled this.

kkaattjjeess

I got this through a swap (luckily, as I almost blind-bought it at one point) after hearing from multiple people that it's an intense version of Kayali Utopia (a perfume that I love but it performs worse than a BBW body mist).

Lo and behold, it is not in any way, shape and form an intense version of Utopia, they're not even 3rd cousins! It is clammy, waxy, and it's most similar to Yves Rocher Monoi eau des Vahines (that I own but it chokes me out with the waxy vibe). It has the artificial Montale DNA that I don't always mind (I really like Vanille Absolu and the Intense Cafes are ok too), but here it's a no from me. You know that tiktok that goes "Immediately, NO!"? That was me when I first tried this 10 minutes ago.

Smells like a laundry softener I would quickly put back on the shelf after smelling it in store, thinking "Immediately, NO".

heartaura

honestly this hasn't become my favorite scent at all... for me it's mainly a yellow floral air freshener type of smell, a very expensive one but an air freshener nonetheless. it's definitely a summery scent because of the light coconut note in the background that's definitely there sure, but it's overpowered by all the florals. it's not terrible but personally it's not my favorite as i don't enjoy this type of fragrance and i'm usually not the biggest fan of ylang-ylang either, it turns out. maybe if there were more coconut in this i'd have liked it better but that's sadly not the case. i wouldn't wear this even if i got a bottle as a gift, it doesn't suit me nor do i really enjoy this scent. this is currently my least favorite montale fragrance i've smelled so far it's not horrible at all but definitely not the best either.

Patousas

In my search for the perfect vacation-type scent I went a bit crazy and purchased Montale Intense Tiare, Mancera Holidays and Mancera Coco Vanille - I will compare all 3 here:
1. Montale intense tiare: strong floral, almost screechy at the beginning, that slowly evolves to a sweet tiare/coconut combo. It also has a strong synthetic quality that reminds me of laundry detergent with a tropical label.
2. Mancera Holidays: the most interesting out of the 3. It is again very synthetic and sweet, but it does offer the vacation vibe I was looking for. I like that it was a salty accord that takes me to the beach.
3. Mancera Coco Vanille: The perfect balance between Vanilla, Coconut, and White tropical florals. This turns very sweet and the vanilla is the prominent note in the drydown. I could see this scent worn all year round because of this, whereas the other two are very tropical - summer scents.

workingwithmeat

this scent hypnotized me when i first opened the sample. I purchased the sample blind, for fun as it's close to my name so i thought it was cute, as well as being unfamiliar with the tiare flower and wanting to try something new. but wow was i unprepared for the summer-in-a-bottle explosion that would happen when i opened it. the vanilla doesn't hit me as much as other reviewers, but thats the way she goes. i also don't get "sunscreen" either, however, as a fragrance noob i feel comfortable describing this as creamy. this feels to me like tiare took a long bath in coconut milk and fell asleep in the tub. this fragrance lasts relatively long on me from 1-2 sprays, about 5-6 hours and as it dies down it still clings to you, but this will definitely last a lot longer if you use a body oil first and maybe add another spray or two. ugh, the white flowers + coconut combo just really does it for me here. if your usual fragrance picks have "beach," "tropical," "summer vacation," or anything similar in the name or description, TRY THIS!

Vellocet

No.. it’s sweet and cloying and outdated at the same time. Otherwise i really enjoy Montale

Scrapie

Absolutely wonderful. Smells like you are actually putting your nose to a flower with a coconutty background. Beachy and clean, fresh and deep. Maybe a bit feminine, but I am a large, muscular man and I confidently wear this scent.

kevinfinettoph

Narcotic and sensual scent, the tiare flower together with coconut, vanilla and ylang ylang give it a creamy / sweet scent and at times even a very interesting fresh "sunscreen" style, which immediately makes you think of summer. However the creaminess combined with this floral sense make me see it as a feminine perfume that would look great on a girl / woman. Good persistence and sillage. I like it but not on me

Laoire

Disappointed with this purchase! Not so much the smell which is lovely, but reminds me of Terracotta which I already have and I do not need a replica. The packaging for an niche expensive perfume is awful, the sprayer broke off the top and my bottle of perfume is only half full. It certainly does not feel that I received the full 100ml, feels like only 40ml worth of fragrance. I could have saved my money!

Agniak

Intense Tiare is a very strong floral scent. I do wear it in hot weather and it last over 10 hours on my clothes, around 6 hours on my skin. I do gravitate more towards long lasting scent. It’s a win for me!

wondervalley666

Initially I hated this scent, as I find to be my first reaction when I try most Montale scents. It opens with a strong blast of sugary tiare, quite synthetic smelling, reminiscent of sweet tarts or candy necklaces. Eventually I found a purpose for my bottle - I only wear it when I'm going to be outdoors (it is too strong for indoors, especially in intimate settings), and I layer it with a coconut spray. I don't get any actual coconut or really any notes besides tiare and a touch of vanilla from this scent. Layering it with other scents helps it a lot. It grew on me more as I wore it on the weekends when I'd work out or go for a run. I must admit, though, I hate the bottle. Very cheap. The bottle does seem very light, like it couldn't possibly be full. However, I learned that the top unscrews on these bottles, so if you feel like your new bottle isn't full, you can easily dump the fluid into a measuring cup for yourself. I learned this because the atomizer on my bottle stopped working on the 3rd or 4th time I wore it. I thought maybe that weird clip with the clunky obnoxious charm was preventing the atomizer from releasing, but no, that is just a decoration and though it gets in the way, it doesn't prevent the bottle from spraying. I then rinsed my nozzle with hot water, which seemed to work great for another 3 wears, and then it was clogged again. The second time, rinsing and poking with a pin did not unclog my atomizer. I had to pour the perfume into another spray bottle. I was actually surprised to see that the practically-empty-feeling bottle still managed to fill an empty 3.4oz refillable perfume bottle to the top. 7ish wearings, and my bottle was still completely full. This would be great if I loved the scent more...

If you're looking for a scent like this, I would recommend going for Holidays by Mancera by the same designer. Initially when I smelled that one, I hated it because it seemed like it smelled just like Intense Tiare. But Holidays is a much superior fragrance. It's a lot vanilla-sweeter and more feminine-leaning, so it may not be ideal for men, but it's a much better blend, not as screechy or synthetic, much longer lasting, and very close in price.

I wouldn't buy Intense Tiare again, and will avoid Montale frags as I loathe the bottles and feel like they often have a strong synthetic vibe. But I plan to keep Holidays by Mancera as a regular staple in my summer scent collection.

princesslopez4890

I had to give this a second, I did not like the scent at first spray. This is very feminine and sweet but in a good way. I will be using this for layering I’m sure it’ll go well with scents like my way intense voce viva intensa Donna born in Roma and poison girl among others in my collection.

aldinatic

A tiare ylang ylang scent. Its feminine but a crowd pleaser.

Coco_fab

Intense Tiare is a sweet tropical soapy fragrance.
Call me crazy but it kind of gives me Chanel No.5 vibes ! Maybe it’s the Ylang-Ylang note? It is not similar at all but it is like a tropical version of N.5. Intense Tiare is sweeter and less powdery.

In the beginning I was not sure if I like this but I have grown to love it. The coconut in this is milky and very sweet. The Tiare flower is absolutely breathtaking in this ! It adds a hint of class.

This fragrance makes me feel like an Island godess. Don’t get me wrong tho, I don’t get sunscreen or tanning oil vibes. Beachy yes but in a caribbean sun godess way :) Imagine a beautiful woman walking down the beach in gold jewelry and a bright yellow silk dress and long, thick curly hair

sophie sanderson

This is such a lovely fragrance the notes are very well blended together it's comforting and cosy and it's femenine thankfully the rose is there but it's hardly noticeable I like perfumes where the rose note is present but is not over powering or to strong this is so nice to wear

missloveschocolate

Starting from the first second this is an explosion of white flowers. I have never smelled a real tiare flower, but I guess this is it, covered in a thick layer of vanilla. A couple of moments later I can hear the jasmine notes. Actually, those remind me exactly of my jasmine plant in the garden.
Then comes ylang ylang.
Overall, this is a beautiful floral composition. I actually do not imagine any vacation, more a business conference room with an enormous white flower centerpiece. Or a wedding reception with white flowers. Something quite formal, yet so flowery, feminine and sensual. Absolutely amazing.
I normally do not like pure flowers, I prefer them with spices, benzoins… but this is actually quite nice. Also quite different from any other Montale I have tested yet.
I do not hear any coconut and absolutely no roses notes here.

Skinterpreter

First impression: this is quite lovely, I've only got a sample of this so far, but I can definitely imagine buying a full bottle of this perfume for summer. I can't really imagine wearing it now, during winter, though, just like I can't imagine wearing Sun EdT by Jil Sander, Womanity by Mugler or Poeme by Lancome. Those are to be worn in hot, sunny weather, as far as my very own, personal "perfume schedule" goes. :)
This particular one smells like my childhood memories from summer vacations in Croatia. Smells like skin in summer, smells like sunscreen. :) Like the one we were using as kids and it's very pleasant. Considering notes, this really is mostly about tiare and coconut to my nose. Light, nutty, milky. It opens quite sharp, that's true, but after that it' s just nice and summery in my opinion.

gourmandnotes

Intense Tiare opens on my skin with a sharp, white floral spiciness for the first 15 minutes. The "spiciness" is the same kind of fiery, cinnamon-like X-factor found in Lust from the Gorilla Perfumes/Lush which is so gorgeous and intoxicating to me. However, after the 15 minute mark, the intensity starts losing its edge, and the once perky tiare becomes indolent, amorphous, and withers away to a generic, white-floral fabric softener/dryer sheets scent that also smells of chemicals. I'm not sure if it's from the notes themselves or from the bottles, regardless what's to blame, I'm not a fan of either. Fortunately, there's way better tiare-centric perfumes out there that are not as disappointing in its story, and aren't encased in these tacky, cheap-looking, metallic bottles. Nice to experience, but I'll pass.

BG fragrance

When I sprayed my sample In the opening at first I thought that it was good I actually really liked it. But then after a few minutes when it dried on my skin all I could get was a cheap air freshener kind of smell. I don’t think it’s beachy, creamy, tropical and all that stuff. It’s a huge miss for me!

iam2sexy4uris

Well, this smells nothing like Terracotta. On my skin it gives out a very chemical smell of coconut, a little bit of Tiare flower and synthetic musc. Terracotta on the other hand gives the most natural smelling vanilla and Tiare flower. All the Montale fragrances seem to this persistent chemical note, headache inducing.
Also, I cannot compare this to Coco Vanille by Montale, that one is very sweet and vanilla and there is quite beautiful vs Intense Tiare which is less sweet with chemical smelling vanilla.

Exotic vacation in a bottle! Positive vibes & induces happiness :) Reminds me of my vacation in Dominican Republic. Coconut milk, vanilla, banana, ylang ylang, ice cream, milky yet fresh. I will always have it in my collection. The Nuxe perfume is quite similar, but Intense Tiare lasts for days..

Missetherealbeauty

I have to disagree with many reviews about Intense Tiare because I must say that this scent is quite unique and special. It's a little hard to describe what this perfume smells like. I mostly smell ylang-ylang, tiare, jasmine, magnolia and a tiny bit of coconut and vanilla but ylang-ylang and tiare are the most dominant notes on my skin. I really don't think it smells like a suntan lotion at all, since I don't find it very tropical but it is quite beachy. It smells like a very, very creamy floral fragrance.

My mind is a little bit conflicted about how I feel about Intense Tiare. I sort of love it and don't like it at the same time. I truly find it interesting, and it smells very beautiful and different. It's like Alien from Mugler, it's a strange scent. It does not smell exactly like Alien but the feeling about Alien is the same with Intense Tiare. I can't stop smelling it but still my mind is like... what the fuck is this? Haha. It's a new type of scent I need to understand.

Overall Intense Tiare is a sweet, creamy yet clean floral fragrance, and I think it would be a perfect scent for layering with scents that are more coconutty or just more clean scents overall. Very, very long lasting. It never goes away, seriously. I must admit that this could easily have been a flanker of Alien.

Edit (some days later): No. This is not for me. Smells annoying to me now. They could do better with this one. Gave away my bottle. I have tried Sweet Vanilla, Chocolate Greedy, Mukhallat, Intense Café, Roses Musk and now this. And this was the most disappointing one! I dislike this more than Mukhallat, and I swear to God that Mukhallat smells even more strange than this. Haha.

QueenieIrenie

This is tropical, beachy and sweet, but I don't find it cloying. It's a bit synthetic/harsh when initially sprayed but quickly dries down to something more pleasant. IT may not be a beast mode fragrance, but as far as tiare fragrances go, it has earned the name Intense Tiare, IMO. Out of the 5 Montale samples I've tried (Intense Cafe, Ristretto Intense Cafe, Sweet Flowers, and Chocolate Greedy being the other 4), this one performed the best on me. It's been about 4 or 5 hours now, and I'm still getting whiffs of IT from one spray to my elbow. The other Montales have pretty much disappeared, or have become very faint skin scents. I love tiare fragrances but in my experience, they tend to be really light with poor longevity (I'm looking at you, Terracotta). I've tried CSP's Aloha Tiare EDT and thought it smelled like a bathroom freshener (I haven't tried the EDP). This one is a strong like, maybe a love. I'm really enjoying it and would consider a FB in the future.

ignatzb

Most Montale fragrances smell overwhelmingly chemical on me, but here the artifice works better. The plastic smell of the white/yellow florals is kitschy fun, not cloying or too sweet. Suntan oil, as nearly every other review said, but pumped up to luxury brand intensity and depth. I love Holidays too, but the lack of sea salt/melon note makes this more versatile and FBW.

emilyjxne

Sweet, white florals. Very much that sun tan lotion vibe. Starts out real synthetic smelling and smooths out into a nicer, creamier scent where you can pick out the rose and Jasmine. The coconut isn’t that prominent here. Unlike many summer scents this lasts and projects. I have a sample of this & my partner complimented me on it but I don’t like it enough to buy. I prefer the likes of Soleil Blanc which is more grown up & sophisticated.

Edit 9/11/2021 I am revisiting my sample whilst on vacation & this is lovely! The ylang ylang is giving a slightly banana-y touch. So creamy & yummy for days by the pool.

Tropicat28

Intense Tiare is a tropical, banana/Ylang Ylang, powdery, white floral. More Tiare and Ylang Ylang than coconut. I detect only a little rose in the dry down, it is blended just to smooth it out and gives a powdery touch. For the first hour it is a synthetic, nuclear slap across the face. After 2 hours it softens up and is very pleasant. This is the fragrance to wear when you are at the beach or pool all day and you want something to hold up. Or a hot summers night dancing the night away. Diva mode. Love!

sisina96rv

OK, I hated it at first. A year ago. I swore I would never wear anything with Tiare flower in it.
Well, then I tested Fragrance du Bois: Oud Jaune Intense, and somewhat got used to it... I did not like it, but got used to it. And then after few days tried Montale Intense Tiare again. They are similar. Not dupes, they are different, but close. If you look at the notes of both, they have almost the same ones, just in different sequences and ratios. I would prefer Oud Jaune Intense now, as it is June indeed :) It is more fruity, more dewy than Intense Tiare. This group of perfumes is not what I would normally choose, but I like to step out of my comfort zone, and test how I feel wearing them. Now, I feel quite fine with Intense Tiare. I would give some chances to Tiare perfumes now...

silviamm

It’s warm and milky, was hoping for more tropical/coconut, so not quite what I was looking for. Nevertheless its a soft pleasant fragrance which it’s almost safe to blind buy if you’re into those perfume notes

AnnaElli

Lovely summer beach scent. Just like the name suggests the tiare flower is really intense here and it dominates, especially in the opening and I love it. I do not get that much of coconut, more like the creamy vibe of it with a nice hint of vanilla yumminess. It reminds me of Guerlain's Terracotta a bit, but IT is much bolder, louder. Once I ran out of Terracotta, which I like a lot, I will probably go for IT this time.

Zoë101

It smells almost exactly how I imagined it, which is a first. This is a very commercial beach scent. Girls in bikinis and makeup, with their mojito in hand, sucking in their stomachs for the perfect pic 👙. With that being said, I LOVE it. My bottle is a creamy floral with sweet beachy nuances 🏖. It’s just lovely. I get the tiare flower, vanilla, and coconut big time so this is definitely going to be one of my go to summer scents. If insta baddie beach pics had a scent, it would be THIS. Love it 💛💛

RATING: 8.5/10. 💛💛

LinaSVas

Smells like a holiday in Hawaii.
Rich creamy and intense tiare - vanilla - coconut. Natural and exotic.
Lasts forever, smells better in cold weather but performs lighter.
This scent wraps around you not trail behind.

SmellzCrazy

Sexy mature beach vibe for the summer heat. @perfumistabunny

Nraveles

A nicely sweet creamy coconut and powdery tiare. Sunscreen vibes all day and it’s perfect!
I know some people hate sunscreen scents but I absolutely love them.

menopalu

I love this powdery, creamy coconut scent. But it was not love at first. What made me fall in love is the projection and longevity. I dislike most Montale fragrances but must give some credit, their quality is on another level.

SophieVictoria93

I would have to smell both perfumes on different wrists to note the Minuit differences, however so far Intense Tiare smells almost exactly the same as my bottle of Mancera Holidays.

Perhaps a slight difference in dry down though - can’t place my finger on what it is, but I feel that Holidays is a bit sweeter and more feminine. I liked Intense Tiare, however if you already have Holidays I don’t see the need to have both.

CRiche

Well I have to say I’m sort of disappointed. This is a lovely suntan lotion smell but it’s far from intense. I wanted INTENSE😪. I purchased this and Mancera Holidays after seeing many youtuber rave about the combination. Both are lack luster and I wish I would’ve spent my money on Bronze Goddess.

Al.green

Maybe its going to smell better in a cold weather. But for now it is a huge disappointment.

I was expecting something delicate. My girlfriend tasted it on paper and tried it on skin to make sure.

While olfactory pyramid was very promising I can describe Intense Tiare as a heavy mess. Definitely not a blind buy.

katheryne_art

I actually get a very intense tiare note with ylang ylang, coconut and it's also pretty sweet as well, which I definitely like. First time I tried it, I wasn't really impressed about it but then the more I try it the more I like it and I find it very tropical beautiful, feminine, bright and complex perfume! Perfect for spring and summer! I also don't think this is cloying either and I prefer this one over Mancera Holidays.

sibaraa

Cloying intense tiare. Very similar to coco vanille by mancera. Will sure trigger headaches for some. A big dislike.

Ewi

I am a bit obsessed with coconut scents so I had to get this one too 😬 as the name suggests it is (very) intense on tiare flowers which together with ylang ylang give a bit of harshness to it and that harshness overpower a coconut-vanilla combo. They are there but in the supporting roles. I still like and use it but there are much better coconut fragrances in my opinion. The longevity is good but on me it isn't that amazing as the other reviews suggest.

Zethre

Strong powdery coconut with a smidge of vanilla and lots of tiare flower. Very lovely, similar to Pacifica Aloha Tiare but more smooth and less powdery, and more creamy from coconut. Very nice.

CatBlanc

Monoi/ Tiare perfumes are often highly similar in DNA. This fits squarely into the quintessential family of well-composed Tahitian Gardenia perfumes.

Tropical, lovely, creamy, white floral, voluptuous and long lasting.

Good (though not ground-breaking) creation.

perfumesniffer

I was on the fence between this, Mancera Holidays and Guerlain Terracotta for the longest time. In the end I went with Montale Intense Tiare. I wanted a tropical floral with vanilla and coconut but didn't want it to be the cheapie Bath and Body Works type. The Guerlain is really gorgeous at first but longevity is brief. Mancera Holidays is the most artificial and the most vanilla/coconut syrupy. I ended up choosing Montale Intense Tiare because it's a nice tropical floral with added hints of vanilla and coconut (it's not all about coconut, it's more about the florals, but the coconut/vanilla is there in the background and more prominently after a few hours in the dry down).

Montale Intense Tiare is a beautiful tropical suntan lotion type of fragrance. It's super feminine and uplifting for warm weather or even just as a pick-me-up in the winter. Longevity and sillage are moderate to great.

Oh, and PS: my other favorite tropical floral is Annick Goutal Songes edp. Songes isn’t raved about as often as it should be. It’s a big, vavoomy, white/tropical floral over a delicious syrupy lush vanilla base. Get the edp over the edt if you want a lush tropical vanilla scent. I happily wore Songes for many years before wanting to try something new.

Taurien

Of the fragrances of this style that I have tried, Intense Tiare is the best yet. Contrary to what I would expect in Montale fragrances, which although I love them have a somewhat artificial touch in many cases, this one smells very realistic of a garden by the sea, a promenade on a sunny morning while the breeze sways the palm trees, a cocktail by the sea at sunset. It is cheerful, enveloping, very very nice. It smells mainly of tiare with coconut and vanilla in an extremely round and creamy composition. I do not get the rose.

Its silage is moderate and its duration on my skin is about 9-10 hours. It is less powerful than some other Montale's but very good.

It is similar to other perfumes in this fragrance type and with which it shares notes but Nuxe Le Prodigieux is much more intense, less creamy, more stridency in the floral, more formal. Yves Rocher Monoi smells a lot more to vanilla and it is more cloying and synthetic. Sun Eau Delicieuse Nuxe is more fruity, citrusy and synthetic. Sun di Gioia does not have the coconut, it lasts a breath and has an extremely subtle trail. All of them have a much shorter duration than Intense Tiare. When I finish any of them, Intense Tiaré will be a great replacement who will defend this position in my collection with dignity.

Smell 8/10
Duration 8.5 / 10
Sillage 7.5 / 10
Quality / price 7.5 / 10
Versatility 7/10
Packaging 8/10
Would I buy again? I didn't buy it

Mischa.ela

I just recieved my sample and... Oh my... I just cannot wait for summer so I can bathe myself in this fragrance :D it's so pretty! Flowery at first and then beautiful coconut/vanilla...
It smells almost identical to Yves Rocher's Traditional Monoi Oil (the one that is pure coconut oil infused with tiare), but sweeter.

violetbelle

If you could make cake frosting from suntan lotion, this is how it would smell. Sweet, thick, cold, frosty white icing for an ice cream cake, which you plan to eat while gazing at the ocean. Love it! ~ *Having now worn this during summertime, I get a warmer, more powdery side. Warm in the way that your skin heats up from the sun on a hot day, and just when it's almost too much, along comes a perfectly timed cool breeze. Both at once. Not heavy or cloying, but over-spraying can likely veer into headache territory, such is the sheer strength. Nonetheless, this is hands down my favorite in its league.

Fleurie20

Not sure how many people here can relate to my experience, but if you're Vietnamese or have tried the Vietnamese young coconut jam (a kind of sweet treat served during Lunar New Year, mostly come in white, pink, green, yellow), then Intense Tiare is essentially the fragrance form of that dish lol There's no other way to describe it. I feel like I've just put all those jam in a blender and then rub the liquid all over my body.

Anyway, on me it is straight up sweet and coconuty from the beginning till the end - I don't get any vanilla, ylang ylang, jasmine or rose. It is warm, smooth, creamy, sweet (but not cloyingly so). I would say this is more for a breezy, cool tropical evening than a sunny tropical morning. The sun with its heat and especially the humidity may make the scent a bit too much to bear (like what Cacraine commented below, it can feel pretty suffocating) . I'm from a tropical country where temperatures hit 40 Celcius (104 F) in the summer and humidity rarely goes below 90, I know I personally would not contemplate using this scent at all, even at night, unless it is some dinner in an air-conditioned eatery.

Staying power and sillage are very good, as is usually the case with Montale perfumes.
I agree with what some of the comments below suggest, a 5ml or 10ml decant is probably enough for your trip to that sun-drenched beach, there' no need for a full-sized bottle.

Not really my type.

Kswhittaker

I love this! More female to me but defo unisex. At first strong tiare, then it becomes a milky coconut with vanila! What a delight to wear

ingeneuxo

-Initial wearing: love.
-Subsequent wearing: repulsed by its similarity to bug spray
(Once the top notes fade into the middle notes, I get this urge to scrub it off.)
-Not fbw. (-)

Celestya

If you like tiaré and coconut, you need to have this perfume. It is not complex, but the sillage and the longevity are amazing. Perfect for summer, during your holidays. Not so elegant or chic but very efficient for beach.
5/10 for summer, day and night!

lperkins

This fragrance is so so lovely. A creamy coconut floral perfect for spring and summer but nice to wear this time of year again, great sillage on me and reminds me of summer holidays as a child when my mum would wear moringa and coconut body butters. Could potentially be my signature scent.

cocofluff

This is gorgeous. Sweet ylang and other intense tropical flowers are combined in this tropical bouquet. The coconut is blended into the florals so that it doesn't really stand out but I definitely detect it.

This is lovely. If I were to buy a montale fragrance, it would be this one. When I spray it on clothing it's intoxicating and lasts all day. Very strong. -

Montale Intense Tiare Unisex EDP opens with a moderate to a strong projection of sweet, white floral, and fruity accords. The opening is fresh, delectable, evocative of spring, and very pleasant. The Tiare flower is a prominent and inviting note, a white floral scent, soothing, creamy, and fruity; the coconut accompanies the Tiare flower with a sweet tropical fruity and slightly milky accord, delicious. The vanilla makes the fragrance delectable, it adds its sweet, cozy, comforting, aromatic, dessert-like note. Very close behind is the ylang-ylang, another floral and fruity note that contributes with a dense floral, sweet, creamy, and banana-like touch. The rose and jasmine are support notes, they are in the background but they don’t have significant participation. The fragrance is relatively linear, the sweetness and slight muskiness of the ylang-ylang is more noticeable during the opening, but it subsides to a secondary place once the fragrance commences its dry down journey and the vanilla smooths all notes down, letting the Tiare flower, coconut, and ylang-ylang assume the lead of the fragrance. Once Montale Intense Tiare Unisex EDP has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, sweet vanilla, white floral, and fruity (Tiare flower, coconut, ylang-ylang) fragrance. The fragrance feels casual, clean, comforting, cozy, creamy, delectable, delicious, dry, elegant, energizing, more feminine than masculine, floral, fresh, fruity, gentle, high-quality, intimate, inviting, slightly milky, modern, natural, nicely-blended, playful, slightly powdery, refined, relaxing, romantic, seductive, sweet, tropical, versatile, white, and very pleasant.

fbls_llmas

Coconutty floral. Smells like a floral sun tan lotion on the beach. It makes me wanna go sun bathing or do some outdoor activity in middle of 35C sun. I feel like this is too feminine for male because of the floral notes. However, this is such a good scent for summer. Nice one Montale.

Florence27

Intense tiare is a pretty accurate name.
It's bold, loud, in-your-face tiare. That pretty much sums it up. Linear scent, sunny, summery floral.
Unfortunately, there's only the tiniest hint of coconut at some point, and nothing else. Maybe it could be layered with a coconut perfume, even though I doubt that there's anything that could match the beast mode longevity and sillage.
If you love this particular note, go for it.
If you're looking for a combination of coconut and tiare, just keep looking. This is not it.

EDIT: I layered it with a ridiculously large amount of Bronze Goddess edp, to tone it down, and thankfully I stopped smelling it.

parfum arthur

Don’t only save this for the summer, try this in the cold winter - sublimely divine! You get a blast of the florals for the first 15 mins which is quite loud but not in a screechy way, then it dries down to a organised creamy blend. You will get pinging wafts of the coconut peeping through. I don’t get any rose. Great silage and projection - 12+ hours.

TIP: Layer with a linear vanilla perfume - I know, it already has vanilla but I can barely detect it - so I use Vanille orchidée by Van Cleef, you won’t be able to stop inhaling yourself!!!

Koningin

Smells like straight up bug repellent. Absolutely tragic! A HARD pass!!

Flame Maiden

Well you guys did it for me again!! I blind bought this fragrance based on the reviews and it arrived today. On first spray it is just so soft and summery and absolutely delicious. It does not say I'm too old for it, it says live your life in the sun and have fun!
I can smell all of the ingredients with nothing offensive at all. It's sweet but not sickly. It's fresh but not dry. I think I can wear this day time and maybe I will wear it on steamy summer nights too. I am so in love with it and I can't thank you all enough. I AM IN LOVE AT FIRST SNIFF!
Ok now the fragrance had dried down, it smells identical to me to the 1960's Avon Hawaiian White Ginger. I loved it so very much as a child and this brings back so many memories of playing with makeup and perfume samples from Avon in the 70's. Love it so much.

arapp95

This is my first Montale and I am blown away. The bottle feels cheap and is definitely not filled to the top. However, the perfume inside is marvelous. It's this super creamy delicious white floral that is very sweet. The sillage is impressive and it lasts ALL DAY. I sprayed on 3 sprays before work this morning and it projected for at least 8 hours before mellowing into a skin scent. However, I could still easily smell it on myself for several more hours. I love this for the summer and wish I hadn't waited so long to buy it. I also layered it with Mancera Holidays and wow, it was delicious!! It toned down the fruits of Holidays and added a slightly powdery sugary coconut-y flower on top. YUM! I can't wait to wear this on vacation, whenever we get to take vacation again.

BOGGIO

Another masterpiece from Montale.

NightMusic

This is my first Montale fragrance. The bottle feels cheap and very lightweight, almost as if there’s nothing inside, but the juice is delicious. Beautiful, creamy white florals and just the right amount of coconut and sweetness. I’m surprised by the reviews saying this is tooth-achingly sweet because I don’t get that at all. This is powerful so I can see it being overwhelming if you spray it more than 2-3 times. But used sparingly, it’s a gorgeous, tropical white floral scent that’s perfectly balanced and puts me in a happy mood!

Overall this is a fine, potent, tropical floral with a suntan oil aura about it.
From far away, it smells like suntan oil, but the sum of all the parts makes it perfect for those warm humid summer days. It has all of my favorite notes, but I could live without the suntan oil part. Tart, sweet, creamy, sultry flowers, but not too much of any of these. There is that slight irritating sourness/ vinegar-ammonia/ faint plastic at opening(which can be a deal breaker for me). But once it all calms down, it is well balanced after spraying it on my top and letting it rest. It’s powerful and blooms in warm weather. In cooler weather, the less pleasant aspects come out (chemical flowers vs less chemical natural flowers). We are finally coming into warm weather (I live on the coast), so it’s time to bring out all my tropical and white flowers for testing. I would definitely consider getting a FB after I finish my decant, so we’ll see.

Edit: I like this a lot, but there is that acrid fruity note again, almost ammonia-like, that I smell in some other scents also and it irritates my nasal airways. Anyone know what this is? 8/10

Excuse my French but "Holy Sh*t" were my very first words upon opening up the packaging. The scent literally hit me right in the face.... but PLEASANTLY...and that has never ever happened to me before. I'm a newbie when it comes to perfumes, notes, and niche jargon, but I will try to describe this fragrance as best as possible in "layman's terms"...
It smells like I just got off of a private plane that landed on some super exclusive exotic island. Upon exiting said hypothetical private plane, Tiare flowers are throw at my feet as I walk. The island is hot, and super dry, without a cloud in the sky. It is so hot that the smell of my sun tan oil is radiating from my skin. As I walk the walkway to the resort, everyone is wearing white and everyone is wearing linen. Finally... I am greeted by the resorts concierge, and handed a Pina colada with an extra shot of brown rum in a coconut shell.
That is exactly what "Intense Tiare" feels like. Rum, expensive suntan oil, a Pina Colada in a coconut shell, and tiara flowers in abundance. It smells like the dream holiday we all deserve after quarantine.

It is strong! Intense is the most accurate description. On my skin, it took about 30 minutes to mellow out. And even then, it was still intense. I would recommend a max spray of 3, and that might even be too much.

I haven't tried wearing it outside as of yet, but I will update on how that part goes.

Initial spray was pure Tiare, and some other white exotic flowers in the back ground.

30 minutes in... coconuts, and suntan oil, and a bit of a plastic/waxy note.

3 hours in, and it is dry but still holding on to the skin, not letting go for dear life. The vanilla notes are present, and that softens the intensity of the white flowers. And it is more milky and creamy due to the coconuts.

Hope this was a clear explanation. I definitely recommend this if you want to smell like an expensive holiday.

Anamandy

Montale is not fooling around when they used the term “Intense” here. It is super-intense. Everything is amped up. The buttery tiare, the voluptuous jasmine, the juicy coconut, the banana ylang-ylang, and the sweet creamy vanilla, are all on steroids. The rose is the only thing missing for me. I'm not smelling it, but I'm sure it is adding to this luscious potion. Seems I'm one of the lucky ones as I don't get anything synthetic here, which can't be said about 2 other scents I blind bought from this house. Nope, everything smells natural, but also bigger than life.

As others have noted, it does smell like Guerlain Terracotta initially, but the dry down is where they deviate. It is much more dense and rich that that. Even though it's crazy strong to me, somehow, strangely, it all works. After hours in this tropical paradise, I am rewarded with a sweet, creamy vanilla dry down, that seems to go on forever. I always hated coconut in a fragrance before. This fragrance has somewhat changed my mind. I don't think I'll be as closed-minded about that note in the future thanks to this scent. I love it!

I’m looking for a beachy florally fragrance and I found it. Its Montale Intense Tiare for sure. I purchased the 100ml bottle and I love it. On my skin, it smells coconut, tiare and vanilla. Those 3 scents very intense you could smell it straight away after you spritz yourself. Its strong, beautiful smell. When it settles down a bit, then the jasmine shines together with the tiare. It’s indeed a beautifully blended together. The longevity on my skin last about 6-7+ hours with minimal spray and the projection around 4-5 hours. The more you spray the better performance you’ll get. It works on my skin pretty well and I’m glad I pick it up at my local store. If you wish to try another beachy fragrance., try Guerlain Terracotta. That one smells good too.

ky4r4

Sadly, this perfumes is my worst regret. I bought it blindly although I read many opinions warning about a "plastic" note and there it is. As I said in a tread, this perfume brings me on a wonderful tropical paradise with a fuming dump in the background of urban wastes. Sorry to disappoint the fans of it. I guess many people are lucky enough to be insensitive to that note. No, my bottle is not a fake. I went in Montale shop in Paris and tried there with no difference. I got this note in all fragrances tested. Awful.I am stuggling to use it bevause I hate this sinthetic bomb.

Azzurance

This fragrance calls to mind a gorgeous, affluent young woman vacationing on a Hawaiian island. She rubs expensive dry oil on her legs before her dinner date on an outdoor patio. Nearby are tropical palms and cananga trees, their branches heavy with ylang ylang blooms. It does remind of suntan lotion but in a balmy, sophisticated way. The coconut adds a creamy touch but is so well blended as to be almost undetectable under the sultry, tropical flowers and the slight edge of Tahitian vanilla. For some reason whenever I smell this I think of a rich oil rather than a perfume; maybe it’s reminding me of monoï. It leaves that impression, though, of fragranced oil on hot skin under a silky dress on the beach. While this is intense (I generally limit myself to one spray, on my chest underneath my shirt), no one will be asking who’s wearing all that perfume. This is an elevated, sexy sunscreen oil all the way, hot and rich and silky.

suzu93

Summer in a bottle! ☀️ Gorgeous summer scent, it reminds me of all those beautiful beaches you only see in pictures.

modernwarpaint

Second day wearing Intense Tiare. I’m typically not a floral frag lover, but I am enjoying this more the second wear.

The opening is straightforward tropical white flowers, with a balminess, like when you apply tanning oil. It’s floral forward at first until the heart of the fragrance tones it down to more of a creamy state, attributed to the ylang and coconut. There is no discernible coconut, just sort of sits in the background.

However the smooth almost gourmand vanilla is the star at dry down, leaving behind a sweet, creamy, delicious vanilla on a backdrop of diffused florals.

This is the perfect fragrance to wear on a summer afternoon at sunset.
It seems to meld into the skin just like oil, in all its balminess.
Giving off a regal, resort like feel, and then setting peacefully onto the skin with the sun.
The vanilla mixes with the salt and sun of the day, paralleling your beach journey.

Lasts forever, sillage is moderate.

I layered this over Tom Ford Soleil Blanc body oil, and it pairs nicely. Something about the saltiness and additional coconut balances it beautifully. SB is nothing like IT, but in similar fashion, both perfect for summer, when daydreaming of laying on an exotic island beach while you’re sitting at your computer desk.

aris1223

Just received this bottle in the mail today .This is sweet but not cloying , warm , a bit milky perhaps from the coconut . The coconut is not too overpowering . This is a warm velvety smooth white floral tropical scent !

Perfume in a tin can is rarely a good idea. (Rive Gauche is one exception and even that would be improved by a proper bottle) Is it a room spray? A cleaning product? That’s part of the reason Montale has always repelled me. That and the fact that there are 3000 of them that are virtually indistinguishable. It’s a brand that (to me at least) screams “I have money but no taste”. Rant over.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. This is one Montale that got it right. It’s not serious. It delivers on its promises. Creamy tiare, check. Coconut, check. Intense, check. Exactly what I’m looking for in a summer scent. It is sweet and heavy on the vanilla, both sins I am willing to forgive in this instance because I don’t have to reapply every 10 minutes.
It’s fun and I at least smell like a Tahitian goddess.

If you want a more “perfumey” approximation of this vibe, try Annick Goutal Songes (especially the EDT).

Perfumedsecrets

This was my first Montale. I avoided the brand because I hate the bottles. The look and feel of them is awful, and they need to change it to something better and worth the price tag--like Mancera. What's inside is exactly what I wanted, but nothing like CSP Aloha Tiare (from what I remember). This is lush and delicious coconut with alluring tiare and ylang ylang. An island dream. It's intense like it claims to be. Rich and sensual. I've been mixing it with Mancera Holidays.

I normally harbor an intense dislike toward Montale. I find the majority of their fragrances overpowering, synthetic, and badly blended.

For me, this is the exception that proves the rule.

I'd been looking for a tiare-heavy fragrance for a while. Though I did find ones I liked—Guerlain's Terracotta, Yves Rocher's Monoï, etc.—they all had terrible staying power. I wanted something unabashedly summery, something oily and lotion-y and sensual.

Montale's Intense Tiare delivers on all these fronts. It is a very simple, very linear tiare, coconut, and vanilla fragrance in which all the main notes are dialed up to eleven. This lasts for days, and projects like a beast. Think sunscreen and cocoa butter and vanilla body spray layered on top of one another and allowed to sweat in the sun for an hour. There's a bit of artificiality here, but that's in keeping with the note profile. And if you dislike sweet perfumes, beware!

Wear this in high summer to be in-season, or in high winter to induce memories of the tropics. Sexy, yet casual, and definitely fun.

butterbean

I cannot believe I never wrote a comment/review about this scent.

Intense Tiare was love at first sniff. Take my money...where do I throw it...how big of a bottle can I get kind of scent.

LOVE the tropical heavenly scent of a good monoi, and this is a monoi with a capital Mmmmmmm.

Coconut soaked Tiare flowers with a soft creamy vanilla feels like you are wearing a lei of tiare flowers, delicious creamy coconuts fill the air, and firmly plants your feet in soft creamy sandy beaches. Aloha!

Intense is right --- it is strong, and lasts all day. People always want to know what it is and where to buy it.

purpleanka

I was looking for something that smells similar to my Monoi Tiki Tahiti "Tiare" coconut oil, and this one is pretty close. Feels like I'm suntanning on the beach. Not too much coconut, mainly the tiare. If that's what you need, go for it. To me personally though, it's cloying.

MaudeScent

A summer scent that lasts all day. The warmer it is, the better it smells.

This Montale does not have Aoud in it, so no sharpness when you enter a room. Just a long lasting sunscreen sillage.

It screams summer without being aquatic. It’s sweet rather than fresh.

There’s no cheapness in here also. It is thick and rich.

Margarita Birda

I got a sample from Notino and I was blown away. It is a warm white floral scent, very well rounded ideal for spring and maybe summer nights too. The coconut is toned down but brings a very playful tone to the scents. Lasts long too

JoannaGR

Wow I really like this one! I'm not sure what tiare smells like, but this smells like gardenia to me. I can't clearly detect any coconut or vanilla, but there's definitely some creaminess and sweetness (it's not a traditional dry floral). It definitely has suntan lotion vibes which I LOVE, although a tad too heavy for summer.

Edit: Just realised that I have a frangipani suntan oil that smells almost identical. I wonder if frangipani and tiare are similar scents.

cillian1988

i like it as it is sweet and comforting.. tiny bits of tuberose but overwhelmingly tiare

food.is_life

I have no idea why people think this is suitable for summer. I don't find it tropical at all. I find it to be a warming, mature feminine scent, a bit artificial, but nothing the winter cold couldn't handle. I'm not saying it would be cloying during warmer months, but it would be such a treat on a snowy day. It's not similar to Hypnotic Poison, but I would say they share the same qualities: both are compositions that feel like they couldn't have been created after 2005 and both have a sweet warming coconut note. I think that for the winter time, Intense Tiare would be a great day-time substitute for Hypnotic Poison.

Neosmiaphyte

Overly sweet heady humid plastic tropical fruity floral. Not unisex, definitely feminine

dessybg

Уникален. Тиаре, тиаре и пак......тиаре. Но ...като другите дето си ги купих (от официалния сайт) това е всичко. Трайност нула, шлейф - нула. Дано лятото нещата се променят.

giakerr

I usually gravitate towards scents best suited for cold weather and am trying to expand my options for summer. This was a blind buy and I am so pleased! It is potent but not too much. It has a ‘waxy’ quality to it (probably the coconut) which really does make you think of a tanning body oil. It’s heady and luxurious. A quintessential summertime scent. I can’t wait until the weather is warmer to let this really bloom.

Carnal_flower17

I ordered a sample from lucky scent, as the tropical coconut smell intrigued me. This smells so good. Smells almost identical to Le Labo Lys 41. Has that same tropical humid vibe which I love. Smells sweet, but not food sweet. More like smells of sweet white florals. Can’t wait to buy it .

ReWeegh

Heavy beast indeed as others pointed it out before me. Heavy flowery scent and heavy performance, One not full spritz on my wrist and was choking.
Maybe it did not go well with my skin chemistry, but I did not get any coconut, neither sun lotion vine, but rather a heavy washing powder/detergent scent.

Nevertheless I was curious based on the comments here and it changed in an hour or so to a nice, lighter sunny scent (still zero coconut).

ridgel

Intense it is. I think this could choke someone. Its tropical coconut suntan vibes in a delish way. Maybe a little plasticky or artificial but delicious nonetheless. I probably would stick to a decant, not a bottle, because of its beast mode projection. Not all passerbys have a thing for that suntan smell like me.

tessiebee

Sample- it has been unbearably hot in the UK recently, so I've been walking the dog in the evening. There has been an unusual amount of fragrance in the air from people's gardens and this has inspired a search for a similar perfume. This is very close to it, though the coconut leans far more tropical than my grey neighbourhood. The perfume is rich, creamy and floral. There is a sharp bite buried in the bouquet, not green at all, more kind of sour which my skin tends to amplify. Nevertheless this is lovely overall. Alas, the price. I'll edit or longevity once I've played with it a bit.

----

This is a silage and longevity explosion. I am catching whiffs over 12 hours later and it was a conservative spray. You definitely get bang for your buck, and honestly makes it pretty worth the price in my cheapskate estimate

LadyIva

This is your typical summer-in-a-bottle, tropical-paradise, suntan-lotion kind of fragrance. Tiare, coconut, vanilla and ylang-ylang. Sweet, sunny, girly. Similar to Guerlain Teracotta, Tom Ford Orchid Soleil and the good old Yves Rocher Monoi. My advice: if you like Tiare Intense, save your pennies and buy YR Monoi instead.

Otjello

Do I smell sunscreen? Delicious tiare, coconut scent. Incredibly summery, and actually for a man only to wear on the hottest days with an hawai appearance or swim short :-) Pretty feminine, and can therefore be used by many more occasions by her. Still I think this is great! Performance is simply excellent. 93

If you want to smell like Hawaiian sun-bathed skin. So creamy & rich, island style goodness. This is my only perfume I have ever refused to swap (and that’s sayin a lot) .. I’ve finally put it as my siggy. I’ve gotten more compliments and it really melds with your skin and heats up as you do, just enough to keep a tropical “perfumed lei” around your neck. Only need 1 or 2 sprays to leave an exotic monoi/tiare oiled-skin aura & alluring sillage all day & night. Id imagine my other 2 faves: Saks for her Bond 9 + Soleil Blanc TF , mixed together. Dreamy.

lacana7

Just ordered my 50ml bottle! Can’t wait ! I agree with people that find it quite strong because it is,you dont need more than 2-3spritz to smell the whole day ,if you overspray it it could be easily headache inducing, wonderful perfume that smells mainly like monoi,I dont get much coconut ,its gonna be my first montale but for sure not the last one.

Emorandeira

LOVE It. This coconut, tiare, vanilla and rose is delicious. However i dont find It as intense as other people says. It lasts but the projection is not too beast. It is on me more like a skin scent.

It so happens that I love them, and this.

fmharun23

Surprisingly happy with this coconut based scent!!!! Nice, creamy and sweet coconut as the based of strong tiare flower notes. Sweet but definitely not a gourmand scent that what makes it great. Its a love at first sight for me. You need to wear first only then you can love it. Read notes wont take you anywhere near because many people would mistakenly interpret the coconut note. Its really tropical and tiare in intense way. Type a scent that has bold character and one of mass pleaser from Montale. You wont go wrong with this creation and this has become my very often wear fragrance. Projection and sillage are great, longevity is beast on my skin. Last for 12 hours with a couple of spray. The more you spray the more performance you ll get.

Overall score 9 out of 10 (projection, sillage, longevity, scent and notes, wearable)

Smellslikequeenspirit

Intense Tiare, unsurprisingly, is all about tiare! It is indeed intense, sweet and long-lasting. I don't get any coconut at all. I love tiare and gardenia fragrances and I do like this one too, though I'm undecided whether it's FBW for me (it's probably too sweet for my taste). It's definitely worth trying if you enjoy sweeter perfumes. The sillage is moderate to heavy. Longevity is impressive on skin and on clothes it's tenacious!

cake n' cuddles

Had a tiny decant lying around, finally got around to trying this and, wow I really love this!

It reminds me a ton of terracotta by guerlain. The main differences being that guerlain smells maybe just a bit more coco-nutty, and has a lighter more airy feel.

Intense Tiare is a thick tropical floral scent with sweet creamy coconut. It's certainly not gourmand coconut though, and smells like an expensive island vacation. I think the touch of rose is nice and I do notice it. Either I don't get the plasticky-ness in here some people have complained about, or I like it. I do have a few plasticky perfumes I enjoy in my collection. The quality of the perfume is just wow. Thick, long lasting, voluptuous! I really enjoy by terracotta by guerlain, but when it's gone I'm buying this instead!

Tyriel

Very feminine, sweet and flowery. I get no coconut at all. Smells like expensive body cream.

I do wonder why people vote this as a summer scent. I put one tiny spray on my wrist, from a sample vial (which sprays out a minimal amount of juice) and it was chocking me for three hours, after which I scrubbed it off with soap. It was 30C/86F outside though.

Too potent and thick to be a summer fragrance. I would recommend this for cool spring days. So do the people around you a favour and NOT spray this on on hot days. It will become annoyingly cloying.

SuzanneS

Intense tiare
Good Lord the longevity is a beast. 12 hrs into it with a nice vanilla drydown
The opening is big, a bit chemical and it goes to a level of.. maybe yes .. maybe no.

I can definitely see both sides of the reviews. I did get a compliment but wondered if I was gassing those around me. If u need a beast mode tropical scent..
This needs to be your first stop.

Bubbles1964

I hate to be a Debbie downer, but this is nothing more than a tropical, plastic-y scent on me. I also smell burnt rubber. A scrubber and a hard pass. My sample was from Lucky Scent.

Neosmiaphyte

Bitter and sweet. Intense tiare and coconut. Yang gland and jasmine in the background. The Rose is cacaphanous and creates the plastic/chemical smell people notice. Heavy and long lasting. .It ends in a slightly ambered tuberose. It is a lovely casual scent not worth the price point

Edit: I wish the amber drydown (10 hours in) projected more and was its own perfume

bornglobals

I definitely smell ylang-ylang in the opening. After a few minutes it settles into a creamy mix of tiare & vanilla. Keeping close to the skin, delicious.

stacia79

Growing on bushes along the lanai outside my vacation room were hundreds of white tiare flowers. Tiare is a type of gardenia plant that grows in the Pacific islands, native to Polynesia. Every day I would tiptoe out along the stone path and stick my face into these bushes and in those moments I truly knew heaven. Montale Intense Tiare was my selection for the third day I spent in Hawaii. My friend balked at how strong and sweet the smell was after I had just put it on, almost like grape juice. "You're going to get chased by insects all day!" she warned. Luckily that never happened even though we spent a large part of the day in a tropical botanical garden. I'm not sure how much was the perfume and how much was my surrounding environment but all day I was surrounded by the sweet almost honey like scent of tiare, coconut, ylang ylang and jasmine. It was gorgeous, made me think if Thierry Mugler's Alien went on vacation and traded her edgy city slicker garb for a sarong and sunglasses. This was my favorite of the three sample vials I had packed for my trip. Quite lush and elegant. Two thumbs up.

agnemusajevaite

I imagined a prom queen wearing a shiny TIARA :D

Sweet, balanced. I feel a lot of coconut.

Not mind-blowing, but not a failure either.

Summer4Life

A bit too sharp and with a "cold" personality.
It has a "fake creaminess", kinda hard to explain but imagine:

You have two hot cocoas. One was made using lots of actual cocoa, which makes it creamy and rich and delicious; the other one has less cocoa and was thickened by adding cornstarch. While the latter is viscous, it's not rich. It's a "fake creamy".
This fragrance is a bit like that to me - "fake creamy".

Also not very unisex – more on the feminine side. It does last and project really well though.

davidlong13

So I'm from the UK, and like so many of us we tend to go abroad in the Summer where the weather is hot and reliable. This fragrance is truly reminiscent of being on holiday/vacation, wearing sun cream and feeling relaxed.

The scent is pure tiare, creamy coconut and a buttery vanilla. If you like the smell of Hawaiian Tropic, then you'd love this.

The projection and longevity is so surprising. When you think of summer scents, I immediately think of salty skin scents (Estee Lauder's Bronze Goddess) that smell divine but only last for 1-2 hours. This is some strong stuff. You'll get 7+ hours wearing this.

Anteatereatingant

This is STRONG. Likely one of the strongest perfumes you've ever smelled - definitely one of the strongest I ever have. It makes no fuss and no frills, it sucker punches you right in the nose!

If you don't like heavy, tropical, beachy florals then this definitely isn't for you as it's industrial strength. It's not a very complex fragrance, it's pretty much straight-up tiare flower and coconut/coconut milk, but boy is it good if that's your thing (it really is my thing, for one). It transports you to a beach in the Caribbean, or the Maldives perhaps, where you're sitting, basking in the sun and lathering yourself in luxurious suntan oil.

I would say it's definitely more feminine than masculine as it's sweet and strongly floral, but tastes may vary. I, for one, will keep wearing it in the summer despite being a man. It's very strong and long-lasting even by Montale's impressive standards, so be very careful with the application. I got the 100 ml bottle and I predict it should last just about forever with how little I need to smell for a whole day!

e120le

Very dry, not so sweet or syrupy. Nothing exotic I found here.
Rose and jasmin makes it dusty, dry, severe and charming.
Like if something joking and gothic played together
An all season beast scent. Masterpiece of early 00's.

Yamba1

As a child my mother bought me some Monoi Tiare Tahiti whilst traveling in the South Pacific. That smell evoked sunshine, frangipani, tiare flower, coconut and tropical beaches. I didn't think anything could smell better! But I'm here to say that Montale's Intense Tiare has taken this to a new level. It is sublime! It's so creamy and lush you could almost drink it. I'm on holiday at the beach right now and I can't think of anything more appropriate to wear. It blooms in the heat and you are surrounded by a cloud of happiness all day. Also worth mentioning, the drydown is the most delicious creamy vanilla I have experienced which lasts and lasts. Vanilla afficionados take note!
This has gone straight to my top 5 and I am on the hunt for backups.

Grasshoppaaa

Opens juicy, fresh, and youthful between a combination of Tiare flower, vanilla, and a milky coconut. Tiare is an uncommon floral in the perfume world, so it gives the fragrance a very unique feel to it. It feels new and exciting even from the start, but you have to keep it a distance or else it seems to lose its balance, and the mélange can begin to seem bland and stale.

Probably best for the outdoors—and warm weather is likely to bring out the best in this one too. Can't say if it's full bottle worthy or not, but easily worth a decant or a sample if it's affordable.

AlexUrbano369

This smell just like Cocoa Butter Lotion.
this is 100% femenine.

thesheppardess

This is the third time for me testing Intense Tiare. I have ordered and tested samples three years in a row, and I still dislike like. Smells like lavatory air freshener. Screeches on my skin like a banshee - an unhappy banshee.
One thing I can say about this fragrance, it seems to last for ages. I am into hour 2 today and I don't pick up any of the listed notes, all I get is a roar of smell.
Some of my favourite people love this fragrance, so I was very determined to like it. It isn't for me though.

fleurdecouture

Oh, this is a delicious one. Tropical, yes but in a sweet, creamy, coconut way. The coconut doesn't give way to chemical suntan lotion smell, and there is no salty-sweat-seawater tone that is so common in beachy scents.. The lovely tiare running through it makes it so pretty and islandy. It packs a punch, longevity wise, but has only seemed to garner compliments at close range in the office. This is all around perfect for me and is definitely going on my favorites list.

dsty

I've been at work all day, but at the same time I feel like I've been on a wonderful tropical vacation, thanks to my sample of Intense Tiare.
This one really delivers on the promise of its name: intense certainly is the word for it! So much so that it did make me feel a little conspicuous for the first few hours at the office, even with my usual two light sprays...but I liked being envelopped by this tropical sweetness too much to mind. And this level of intensity also feels rather fitting for this kind of scent - after all, if you're going to smell like a beach holiday, why not go all out with it? Also, at this price point it's reassuring when a little goes such a long way.
So I'm all for Intense Tiare, which is a bit of a surprise since I've had trouble appreciating this type of fragrance before. The combination of tropical flowers and coconut sounds like a dream in theory, but in practice it seems hard to get right - it's often overpowering, too synthetic, too sweet. This one nails it, though: despite all of its strength, it never feels like it's too much. It's very well blended, and just so nice, comfortable and quite relaxing. This might just be THE beach scent for me, although it's re-awakened my interest in exploring this "genre" as well, so who knows...

Baseeta

It's warm, tropical, and dare I say, creamy in a very beach like way.. This is a tropical vacation in a bottle.

sandrajj

Based on the reviews on Fragrantica, I ordered this. I applied it very carefully, not liberally at all. I swear this has lasted for days, through showers, etc. Thanks be to G*d I didn't get any on my clothing, or it would be lingering forever into eternity. This is powerful, I cannot tell a lie. And I really can't say I like it. No Coconut whatsoever, which is what I was expecting with the tiare. So, where is the coconut, folks?? This reminds me so much of Tom Ford's Black Orchid, which I totally could not stomach. I literally got sick from it. I also had Annick Goutal's Songes, which I quickly sold on ebay - none of these agree with me. Disappointed. I've ordered Montale's Deep Rose, and hoping for the best. The longevity is what I'm looking for.

Too much sweet

Planet_X

Guilty pleasure of creating a summer holidays mood in the midst of gloomy winter weekend. Aka little revolution of rebellious spirit, that begs for sunshine and sea breeze.
Deep and penetrating aroma of Tiare Montale is doing it's job, better than D3 capsules. So if I would be a doctor, I would have prescribed few sprays of Intense Tiare per day in rainy cold days, which is pretty always where I live.
It is like coconut butter with lush wet white florals and ylang. This summer I completely burned my skin on the beach and local French pharmacist advised me to apply generous layers of Hawaiian Tropic after sun body butter, which smelled delicious and I was sad when I finished the jar. Well, Intense Tiare evoked the memory of that butter along with French Riviera, - it is a memorable smell indeed.

Perfumeaddict777

I finally got a bottle!! It's amazing! I love white florals and this is outstanding. Buttery, oily, tiare! Smells like tuberose and gardenia with that delicious dreamy creamy sun tan lotion scent from the coconut. It starts off smelling like intense tuberose and gardenia and a few minutes later the sun tan lotion smell comes out. It does remind me of Madonna Truth or Dare and Robert piguet Douglas Hannant but with the added coconut. It's perfect for summer but still wearable and beautiful in the fall especially when it's rainy. Tropical, lush, classy and sexy. Long lasting and great sillage! Mine is montale paris not international. I heard montale split into two categories, so i wanted to be clear on which one im talking about. It might not matter, but any way... if you like white tropical florals and suntan lotion than this is for you!

ScarlettX

This is quite enjoyable very-very nice fragrance. Coconut and tiare flower mix together very well. It's a sweet, tropical vacation scent. Smells like coconut cake.
I can't imagine men wearing it, I sense it as ultimate feminine scent.
Different from other sweet scents on the market, outstanding!
I like it a lot!

Feli15

Oily, creamy, opulent white floral dream. A blast of jasmine and ylang ylang add fresh creaminess to the very strong but natural smelling tiare. Soon it softenes considerably on skin leaving a sensual trace of candied white petals soaked in coconut milk and vanilla. It smells divine!

Reminds me - Madonna Truth Or Dare

Update: screw it, I'm getting another bottle for myself as a man. This is a real addiction. I need help. I'm also purchasing mukhallat. Tired of the cliche mens masculine fragrances. If I like something I'm wearing it period. I want to smell "good" rather than "rugged". My muscles are all the masculinity I need. Ladies buy this NOW. You will hypnotize men #facts.

Marissaluvsscents

I love this! I also have Aloha Tiare but just... Don't... Like it much. I was scared, first spray of Intense because it smelled close to Aloha Tiare, but then smoothed and sweetened out in seconds. So so good. A new fav! Oh, and it's not too strong on me at all!

streetter

Bought this for my girlfriend. She walks in a cloud bubble of ylang ylang banana tropical beauty. The tiare goes almost honey on her. Slight tanning lotion vibe but overpowered by the sweetness. Masterful blend. Montale offers powerful perfumes for $100. Will never buy another designer frag again. Also just purchased aoud velvet for myself since I liked her so much. Tiare flower is no joke, favorite flower hands down over rose, jasmine, all of them.

Pianomelody

Nice perfume, tropical, summer and gives freshness. Beware, however,is very powerful, used sparingly, like all most Montale perfumes, the sillage is heavy. Certainly more suitable for summer, although likely to be ok in winter...It opens with notes of Tiare quite pronounced, with vanilla notes are the first I've heard.. after a while ylang adds creaminess to the perfume, jasmine and rose give a delicate and gentle touch to the fragrance. The coconut is there but not so intrusive,it harmonizes perfectly. Very well balanced, and I think I like to buy it as soon as I finish my sample :). Beautiful!

Just got this Beautiful today...

I smelt the box and got beeswax or honey kind of scent. Didn't expected it to be that gourmand sweet though.

BUT it's another story when I actually spray it!
At first spray on my neck, I then realized that I NEVER EVER experience a forceful heavenly tropical scent like this! SO INTENSE! SO MAGICAL! Yes, it fill the room and I can still smell it on my wrist after shower.
If I were to compare this frag as a woman, She would be a truly charming woman that has telepath and she's saying "Look at me... You are in love with me, like, FOREVER!" mentally. lol

I got fresh tiare, coconut, vanilla (these two make it sweet and a little oily.), juicy sweet jasmin and dry rose. Since i don't know what Ylang-Ylang smell like... so I cross it out from my perception list. lol

When i got out of my room my aunt suddenly said that she smelt Thai candle-smoke pastries. (Which is oriental Thai sweets.)
I guess the smoke or incense scent is from the (a bit dry) rose note.
My friend said that i smell mellow and dry flower like. (in a good way)

If you love or looking for a classy sweet tropical incense like scent. This is the one.

Beautiful....speechless.

It was like magic. I was on the plane back from Venice still my senses full with what I had been experiencing there. A very elegant lady passes me. Instant love I felt when she walked passed my chair. Like a hypnotized person I went after her and asked her what she was wearing. Unfortunately, she was speaking only Italian. I repeated in my broken Italian, same question, and with a huge smile she told me " Tiare, Montale" I thank her and went back to my sit. Most gorgeous smell was lingering around still. I meat the same lady in arrival terminal. Same joy of seances around her.
Needles to say I reached home and ordered it.

kokica16

The first time I smelled this perfume, I was working in a coffee shop and believe it or not, this lady would come every morning and her perfume would fill up the place ( the area where she always sat had 15 tables)! I had no idea that was somebody's perfume so I asked a manager one day which room scent are they using because I loved it, he showed me but it wasn't it. When I realized it was this lady I asked her right away and it was the Intense Tiare. At that point I already had Intense Cafe and was hooked on Montale. I just recently got a bottle of Intense Tiare for summer and it smells even better on me! It's really strong so I just spray it once and i can smell it the whole day! It starts a bit too strong for a couple of seconds, I really don't feel comfortable with the intensity but then it develops into a real tropical scent. Smells of Coppertone mixed with flowers, coconuts and salt. It really reminds me of Beachy by Lilly Pulitzer, only it's a bit warmer and a lot more long lasting. It's very very sweet.
Also it's a perfect perfume for mixing, I like to mix it with the Tropical Wood by Montale.

Houdini4

This one is a real banger! Rarely do fragrances live up to their name, especially when they are called 'Intense' but if there's anyone you could be sure of making something Intense... It's Pierre Montale.

I actually love how the tropical, sweet, white floral vibes of exotic Tiare flower and Jasmine assault the senses. This fragrance does have an edge of coconut but it's not cloying and doesn't smell like a tacky sun cream in small doses it's quite elegant.
I think worn in moderation this is a very bright and uplifting scent which dries to a talcum, musk which reminds me of my mums rose talc she used to wear when I was a kid. So yeah there is a very subtle rose note in there. I don't often say this about a fragrance because I like to think I'm open minded in my fragrance choices but this to me is 100% feminine. If a guy wants to wear this, then more power to you but I just wouldn't.
A lovely thing then and very, very potent indeed.

Mary-Jayne

I had hoped this would work for me as I do enjoy some really sunny scents with coconot and tropical florals, like Terracotta, St Tropez Dispenser, Datura Noir, Isles Lointaines etc. Unfortunately this just does not work well on my skin. The first few seconds were glorious, and I thought I was going to be in for a real treat. Sadly however this very quickly fell apart. It kind of reminded me of those birdman competitions, where people construct elaborate looking costumes in which they hope they can "fly", and take a running leap off the pier before inevitably crashing into the sea. For one split second, as they leap from the pier into the air, arms spread wide, it does indeed look like they are flying before gravity claims them. That is how this scent was for me, a moment of tropical sunshine paradise and then BAM it morphs into a plasticy, synthetic and cloying coconut shampoo. Every now and again this attempts to stagger back to its feet, sending a waft of enticing tropicana to my nose but it always falls back down again.
I seem to find this house very hit and miss, with more misses for me. Orange Flowers, Full Incense, Blue Amber and Aoud Orange all smell great to me but everything else I have tried from Montale has gone wrong on my skin. I can achieve what this perfume attempts with my trusty old bottle of Body Shop coconut oil. Not for me.

chittylafemme

There are a couple Montales that I just LOVE, but why do they all smell so similar at the base? Yes, this is nice. It is pretty. Great sillage. But it is so incredibly unremarkable.

Just received it today , it's really perfect ! Sweetness overload plus coconut ! I love it <3!!
And it does have staying power and great silage if you spray 4-5 times , with 2 you don't get that ... 6 hours you'll smell divine.

Steleale

Lovely creamy vanillic white flower frag. Lasts forever and sillage bomb...two sprays maximum.

I’m not a fan of Montale’s assembly line approach to perfume (any company that puts out 50+ “oud"-variants can’t be very serious about what they release). However, the line gets my attention when they manage to do something that deviates from their standard agar/rose/sandalwood bombs. This one smells like suntan lotion on meth, and the “intense” is no lie as this stuff is obnoxiously strong. It’s supposed to be white florals and coconut, I assume, but it smells more like a spill at the Bond No. 9 counter combined with several bottles of sugary shampoo. This is the kind of scent that was popular in the ‘80s — the sort of thing that people would bathe in, gassing out entire floors of office buildings to make a statement. It’s milky, tropical, and smells like some of the fancier shampoos at the drug store. If it were a quarter of the volume, it’d be fit to wear in public, but as it stands, it’s migraine material for anyone who comes into contact with it.

My new obsession! :) It's funny, when I tried it in a store several years ago, I was disgusted! All I could smell was a stench of mold!!! Tiare frags aren't for me - I said to myself. Some days ago I received a sample... Well, Let's try it again! And... Poufff, Here is one of the most amazing, feminine, creamy white floral fragrance I ever tried, with a very natural, sweet vanillic and coconutty dry-down! What happened? Maybe the tester in the shop was gone bad! I plan to buy the full size of this gem asap... and to spray it carefully, as it's a sillage bomb and one of the must powerfum smell I know :)

The desperate search to find an antagonist of "Carnal Flower" has led to the creation of this floral scent. Certainly not "Carnal Flower", but it is undoubtedly cute, strong and much less expensive. For those who are content.

This fragrance took me right back to San Diego, where I lived years ago, at the beach. It starts with a sort of over ripe fruity note, even though it lists Tiare as the top note. I was not very impressed, but decided to give it an all day wearing, as to write a review, it needs time to get the whole fragrance picture.
The next stage, after about an hour), was a plasticky, slightly floral vibe. Then the suntan oil presented itself! This was the scent of the beach, where everyone gathered with their boards to catch some waves. I wouldn't have minded that so much, but that slightly over ripe fruit note kept drifting in and out, and was very off putting. In it's defence, the fragrance does have good longevity, and isn't shy to show it's stuff, but I think for the price, it is definitely not worth the price tag! i was expecting a distinct, and prominent tiare flower, but, instead got coconut and a strange plastic fruit smell. I suppose I have been spoiled by my other lovely florals). This is the second Montale I have tried, and will purchase some other samples, as this house has a wide range of choices. Unfortunately, this wave just wasn't worth catching!

Fresh and sweet coconut/Tiare scent. Less is more, 1 spray goes along way. Be careful with Tiare Intense or your scent will fill a room. This is a heavy scent but gorgeous - especilly in summer evening. This is a scent great to mix with darker perfumes in my opinion.

Fräsch och söt kokosnöt/Tiare-doft. Lite är mycket! 1 sprejning håller i många timmar.

esteban747

My first impression of Intense tiare was of a simple, basic fragrance with just three ingredients. Jasmin, Coconut and Vanilla. all three wrestling with each other to get the first place. they smell intense.
But then, the whole composition keeps growing and the scent turns into a creamy, sensual, sophisticated fragrance. the notes are blending and they all work together.
It has a slight suntan lotion vibe, but the rose arrives just in time to break that path.
Unlike Comptoir Sud Pacifique, Intense tiare is magnificent, with such strong notes as jasmin, coconut, vanilla and rose this fragrance manages to stay elegant and refined.

seekritdude

On paper this is extremely floral and feminine to me. On skin the florals are toned down and although still pretty girly, not quite as extreme. On skin I get basically coconut suntan lotion and a lot of it. Stays pretty linear on my skin, with the florals just toning down as well as the overall scent. Very tropical, and I suppose if this is the vibe you want it works, but for me personally I think in this circumstance id rather just wear VIW.

AveParfum

I actually don't smell any tiare or any distinguishable florals. THIS is pure coconutty suntan lotion, literally with the plastic bottle too. That's right, it does smell like it contains a note of plastic, but it's kind of nice. It's a sillage monster, great for daytime or hot nights in Hawaii or Miami or any number of other hot, tropical vacation spots. What I like about the coconut is that it's milky, not like dry, shredded coconut. Nice perfume.

I was lucky enough to find the last bottle of this at MiN New York (amazing store by the way, you must visit this place if you live in NY or are ever planning a trip here). I initially went there with the mindset of trying out Chocolate Greedy and Intense Cafe, both of which I'll do a separate post on. After trying those out, I remembered reading about this one and finding the notes very appealing in theory, so I tried this one out, and hot damn I was blown away.

It's a very clean and perfectly executed fragrance. It is very floral, very coconut-y, but it definitely comes out in a way that men would easily be able to wear. The quality is unquestionably Montale, you get what you pay for with this one, and it is worth every (s)cent

anna.glowacka

Just like the name says Intense Tiare is very intense. It literally fills the whole room with its presence. It smells gorgeous and leaves pleasant trail after i pass by. It gets a lot of compliments. But...this is very linear smell, after initial spray it doesn't develop, it just stays the same for hours. I get a lot of tiare of course and a bit of vanilla, other ingredients are not noticeable for me. There's also second "but", after 5 of hours of wearing it started to reminds me scent of toilet block. Still nice though but but at this phase there was something not right. My conclusion is: because of its linearity it can become cloying, boring, and tiring. But i like it anyway.

Monoi obviously has a big following and is important to people who may not necessarily be in the market for niche perfume. Montale Intense Tiaré is perhaps intended for people who have no experience with monoi, but in truth, this is very monoi-like.

In brief wafts, immediately after application, I caught just a touch of soapiness which made it seem as though it was going to be a very different scent from monoi. But the wafts were very brief and pretty much disappeared after the opening.

This is really just monoi for 98% of its life. Which is fine, of course, but as many reviewers have remarked, the scent is comparable to monoi oil available from Yves Rocher for about 10% of the price. Personally, even if I loved monoi (which I don't, as it sometimes seems cloying and annoying to me), I'd save my big Montale bucks for something not so "common".

This is not an aesthetic denunciation of monoi, per se, but most people are not in the position of owning the entire Montale collection and must make choices.

gvalentinotti

Wonderful!!!! Maybe not that original, but wonderful!
Theis scent brings you to a flowers bouquets from Oriental Lands. You smell white flowers and coconut very close to suntun cream, at the same time vanilla warms up and thi is a scent also good for winter.

alchemist1976stephanie

Very true Tiare! Beautiful, tropical and warm with just the right hint of white flowers thrown in. If I didn't already own pure Monoi oil, I would totally purchase this! If Monoi is not accessible to you, this is the next best thing! Highly recommend!

Habanita

While I like the Tiare scents of Yves Rocher, I find the Montale one extremely stinky. I'm sorry to say that, but to me it doesn't smell like Tiare, just annoying. I had to wash it off.

5354alice

I'm tring this one today from a sample, and I'm a little bit disappointed: despite the name It smells more like monoi than like tiare flowers... I can feel lot of coconut, maybe too much. I was expecting a floral fragrance. of courrse it is strong, with a great sillage as all Montale's fragrances.

lassie172

wonderful..

WOW. Just BEAUTIFUL!!! This fragrance makes me think of desert islands i've never been to. It makes me think of a beautiful, colorful sunset at the beach while drinking coconut lemonade. It's a tiare fragrance but not like the other ones in the market, it's delicate and sofisticated. I chose to try a sample today after I showered and randomly i picked this one. After a few hours, you'll get this creamy rich coconut, but not sickly sweet like the ones we usually smell from other fragrances. I'm crazy about coconut, tiare and vanilla, so this is perfect for me. What a great surprise!!!

antfarm

Wearing this perfume is like drowning in a swimming pool full of the most beautiful-smelling, creamy, delectable suntan lotion. You have the extremely intense tiare working with the creamy coconut, and overall I love it but it's just too much of a good thing.

PricklyAndHot

Most of all this fragrance really smells the tiare note.

It reminds me a lot Songes by Annick Goutal because of the tiare, ylang-ylang, jasmine and vanilla notes, which are very noticeable.

But I like Intense Tiare more, because it smells more milky thanks to the coconut note and more gorgeous thanks to the rose note. Besides, it's more intensive and the sillage is stronger. Montale is famous for strong sillage fragrances, I guess.

I like it. Tropical flowers heaven in the bottle:)

40plus&fab

I love everything Montale (even if it doesn't work for me) This is a lovely tropical scent. As expected of this house, a high quality well blended coconut, tiare flower and vanilla. Ideal for year round use. However, this is a much more expensive COPY of the 1975 Comptoir Sud Pacifique Aloha Tiare! I have the CSP and I'm very happy!! ;-)

Mooniq

Coconut is a difficult note for me, but here its really nice and grown-up. Not coconutsweet, more deep and halfway sweet in a good way. Blends wonderful with Tiare, Jasmin and Ylang-Ylang. I can't smell any roses or vanilla. A scent for summernights or sunsets and umbrella-drinks.

Pbeschi

It reminds me of Fracas and Carnal Flower because of the coco feeling. Too bad it sits too close to skin and is not that original.

lassie172

It is nice sweet tropical fragrance.Suitable for spring or summer. Nothing special but plesant.

lassie172

if someone want to sell it, please PM me, i am looking for one

I bought this perfume while on a quest to find the perfect gardenia fragrance. Somehow, a review out there suggested this scent --perhaps based on others' perception of the closeness of Tiare and Gardenia. On a whim, based on the suggestions of the creaminess and sillage, I went ahead and bought this.

The opening of this fragrance is a bright and sharp white floral. It is heavier on the Jasmin notes, which reminds me of Thierry Mugler's "Alien" without the citrus. It can almost be overwhelming.

After about an hour, the fragrance begins to dry down and the coconut starts to heavily emerge. Over the next few hours, it just seems to become a creamy coconut perfume with a white floral base.

This fragrance lasts at least 8 hours on skin and even longer on clothing. The development of it seems to stop after the first 2 hours.

As an experiment, I sprayed this and Bobbi Brown Beach on at the same time on my skin. Surprisingly, they seemed to compliment each other in that soothing, beach fragrance.

It's a lovely scent, but it's not an every day fragrance for me. I wouldn't give it away, either. It's nice to have when you're ready for it.

daniela3

Lovely fragrance though in my opinion and on my skin also, I find the coconut a bit dominant compared to the name "Intense Tiare"; I cannot detect as much tiare as my expectations would demand and I'm still grieving for the loss of Saint Barth's Tiarè :( ......
As many fragrances - by the same Maison - it does not lack of intensity: you can spray it in the morning and be sure about its fidelity!, up to tea-time. Beware if you spray it on your clothes as it could leave some stains.... Despite the Carebbean atmosphere it recalls and due to its reach intensity, I find it probably better for the cold season. Or at least, that's my idea as I live in Europe......

thatbrownelf

Lovely tropical scent that's well-blended enough to keep the coconut and tiare from turning this scent into suntan lotion, which unfortunately happens with way too many tiare/coconut scents in my experience. The ylang ylang adds a creaminess to the tiare and coconut, and just enough vanilla peeks out throughout the dry down to add just a dash of sweetness. Love it, and will definitely be reaching this when I need a bit of the tropics in my life.

;-)

To me this sent starts of with tropical sundown. Coconut like tropical sunoil and the magnificent night sent of white flowers. A few hours in the coconut fades in favor for the vanilla. On me it gets a bit powdery which for me is rare, not too much thou. To me this is not a shy nor a young sent. For dinners in high heels, this is provocative woman yet sexy and a sent young doughters could describe as wonderfull. The notes blend well on my skin. If I remarry i could concider this as the sent for the ocation, especially if it takes place barefoot at the beach ;-)

MirabelleJee

I don't like coconut in perfumes, it is usually dominating and has overwhelming sweetness. In this scent the coconut also dominates on my skin, but it is softened by other components, so I can stand it. I can characterize this fragrance with a quote from Britney Spears's song: "... I'm not a girl, not yet a woman..." A young woman 20-30 year that plays role of a sweet girl - that's that I feel wearing this perfume. Lasting power is very good and 2-3 sprays are enough, or you will have a headache.

cacraine

Too sweet. I feel suffocated when I wear it. It is like every tropical flower on steroids and coconuts beating you over the head. Blech.
