I'm astonished that this doesn't have any cedar in it. This is similar to Light Blue, which as a lover of LB should be a positive thing for me, but always ends up being a negative, because I love LB so much I just wish I was wearing that instead lol. It's hard to pinpoint exactly why I don't like this as much, but I think it's the spices in the dry down. After a while, when the initial airiness goes away, it smells like if you put a satchel of spices and citrus rinds in a cedar drawer and took a whiff-- I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just not as much of a light freshie as the initial spray led me to believe.

Theoddmr

Honestly, a very citrusy fragrance. There is a little bit of floral on the drydown, not too much. Definitely leans feminine, but I can definitely see a guy (such as myself) wearing it. Does not smell like light blue in the slightest to my nose. Smells more like Hermes eau givree

lmnsvgz

A very juicy citrus opening with a creamy floral base. I prefer it over Intense Tiare which is more bitter.

Bordo

I really enjoy it, or is pretty, sweet, fresh and simple, citrusey scent. And it is even creamy, almost like Bergamot Waters by BBW or Radisson Hotels signature scent. I do like it, but at the same time it gives me some not entirely pleasing scent memory, like deja vu, but I I don't really know why. It has this roundness to ir, probably from musk, but the kumquat and musk combination is close to giving a bit dirty vibe. A bit more mush would be too much for me. It is lot like Sicily by Mancera. Performance is good for this profile. Reminds me of Wulong Cha X by Nishane, but Nishane is way more superior and is more tea/florals forward compared to citrus dominance in Soleil De Capri.

Thesmallestaromaticfeline

Uhh I love this one! It has that Chanel Allure Homme Sport coolness in a more feminine way. The undertone is just heavenly. I enjoy wearing this in the spring time so much.

ayshee_x

I have tried so hard to love this fragrance and it’s just not for me. I was expecting it to be much softer with the florals, but the citrus (especially the kumquat note) is incredibly screechy and bitter. Honestly it’s as good as insect repellent.
Perhaps you need to live in a warmer climate to appreciate this?

Dzarsos

Heh. Capri Sun.

Honestly, I kind of despise this fragrance. It is so loud and sweet - and I absolutely don't get how it's supposed to be "bright and refreshing" as many have described it.

To me, this is a spiced, over-sweet, citrus-forward candle that an all-ladies nursing home would have burning. My only wonder is if, maybe, I got a bad bottle or something - because I've let the thing macerate for the last YEAR after the first few sprays, hoping it would show what everyone else is seeing... but no luck.

Orange and spice bagged tea, plus smashed kumquat, plus a pound of sugar, smooshed into a candle. If that's your thing, well, you'll be pleased to know that it lingers forever and is pretty damn loud, too, so you'll definitely be getting your money's worth.

For me, though? It's a deeply regretted blind-buy accompanied by a strong "yuck".

(Also, not the frag's fault, but the 2/3 full Montale bottle thing is garbage.)

KöbiD

This is such a refreshing and citrusy summer fragrance with staying power, and without being overly sour or musky!
Right after spraying, I get a mixture of citrus notes along with a zesty grapefruit. Besides citrus, I can also smell a cedar note. Honestly, I am surprised that cedar or woody notes are not listed. The white flowers, spices and musk are not very prominent to me, they are more in the background, rounding off the fragrance.
After a full day, the drydown on clothes is mostly a woody cedar-like note with remnants of citrus, simply pleasant, without any sharp musk.

dtwaddle

Refreshing, slightly tart, summery unisex fragrance that is an absolute delight to wear.

As I write this, it's summer 2023, and honestly, this is the only fragrance I wanna wear. It's so lovely, doesn't lean too far masculine or feminine, a elegantly simple mix of citrus, white floral, spices, and white musk.

The star of the show here is the kumquat note. A rare note in perfumery, the fruit itself has a sweet rind and a puckery tart flesh inside. It's about the size of a large grape (maybe a little bigger), and looks like any other citrus fruit inside.

Its aroma is somewhere between a sweet orange and a tart lemon. This perfume gives off slight iced lemon vibes in the opening and quickly transitions to a sweet, spicy citrusy, ethereal, light, refreshing summer breeze in a bottle. There's also something slightly green and aromatic, like an herb or a hint of galbanum or something in the late opening that smooths out in the heart and drydown.

A lovely, sweet summery treat with a tiny hint of faint tartness and slight aromatic note. Perfect for a casual outing or event on a warm or hot summer afternoon. I picture a confident man wearing loose-fitting white linen pants and a linen shirt with a roomy silouhette, having a cocktail at an open air beachside bar.

A delight for the senses. 10/10 highly recommended.

Nightster

Happy summer fragrance! I love it! Maybe a bit feminine, but I don’t care.

Mariyamokshina

expensive cumquat cocktail with orange slice candies that are covered in sugar as a garnish . its cute but I would not wear it

MatchaCat

I only get like two notes with this. Mainly tart kumquat or orange peel and hint of grapefruit. Later on in the drydown, a subtle white floral peeks through. A very simple and happy scent for summer. Citrusy, sweet and refreshing. You're out in the sunshine and someone squeezes a kumquat slice onto your skin. You can smell the sweet juices and the bitter oils from the citrus peel.

Smell: 8 out of 10
Longevity: 7 out of 10
Unisex leaning more feminine

For reference, I'm female.

Ground hound

A pleasant summer scent with a bit of a cold touch.
A very accurate pyramid, surprisingly.
A sweet citrus, a grapefruit sharpness, and sweet summer flowers.
The spices and musk are light but give it volume and prevent it from becoming completely generic. Can be a unisex but on a slightly sweeter side.
Very likable, but not too unique.

perfumaphile

This scent confuses me, I find that it's full of contradictions. I can't decide whether I like it or not. It's reminiscent of light blue, because it's a lemony citrus but I find this way stronger and it's more floral in comparison. There's something in this that smells green to me as well. I find that light blue smells like pure lemon soda and then it's gone. This perfume actually projects, but the dry down is not my favorite. I don't know if it's the spices note, but something doesn't smell smooth in the base notes. Also, I don't detect any muskiness. I would've liked if it smelled more vanilla/ambery in the dry down instead. I do find it to be unisex, most citruses are. My favorite part is in the opening, it's smells fresh, zingy, and uplifting. While this is a "freshie" its also kind of heavy. Soleil de Capri you have perplexed me.

Update: I recently smelled I Love Love by Moschino and they are very similar in my opinion. If this is out of your budget, perhaps try the one by Moschino.

volleyballlibero4

This is so, so gorgeous. The dry-down is just to die for. The opening is definitely citrusy, but the zing does not last (which I personally like as it just itches my nose), but as it relaxes, it's such a beautiful woody, sagey, warmer fruity sweetness that is to die for on anyone - both me and my fiance have a bottle.

I haven't personally smelled Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt, but that name itself seems to par in similarity. It's a blast of juicy fruit in the beginning with like a cold metallic note from inside the Montale signature bottle that dries down into a salty wood that's been beaten by the waves and the sun.

Despite being almost 2 decades old, this is a summer go-to that a gourmand girl surprisingly loves.

EltonWaldick

I get a coca cola vibe from it in the open, but not the coca cola that you drink is more like the coca cola you find while eating gummy candy, you know the coca cola flavor. Living in a tropiical country fresh fragrances are a must and depending of how much you pay for it this could be a very good deal.
I paid 72EUR for an 100ml bottle.
7.5 overall

SophiaViolette

Pleasant citrusy, warm, sunny opening light a ray of light.
The citrus notes are sour, sweet yet refreshing.
I KNEW there was kumquat because of the grapefruit-citrusy sourness, coincidentally I ate some before spraying this! The top notes reminds me of sour lemon candies, that I love.

Definitely a perfume to enjoy layering, I tried with Creed Silver Mountain Water to add citrusy crisp. I can see it working with Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, did with Soleil Neige and smelled wonderful.

Playful, unisex-feminine and young at heart. Making perfume or lemonade out of lemons?

SUNSHINE IN A BOTTLE

Zeynep Kıymet

This is a fresh, tart, charismatic citrus with a faint hint of bubblegummy white flowers. I see some people say it’s not complex or unique and while it may be true, summer scents don’t need to be complex in my opinion. They need to transport you to a boat off the coast of some Mediterranean country, and this one delivers.

Cupcake11

Literally, a cross between light blue and wood sage & sea salt. I have both of those frags (light blue in intense version), therefore, don't see the need to own soleil di capri. But a very nice, refreshing frag nonetheless. Longevity is pretty good, too.

Shui-Xian

Treuly charming! Fresh citruses without bitternes, surrounded by gentle flowers. Warm, musky base makes impression of a sun-kissed skin. Simple, but well composed and true in every note. Bright, inspirative and optimistic. I consider a serious relationship with this one.

Intimate sillage, longevity 3-4 hours.

jarno1208

I like it. Unisex. Very citrus heavy with some flower supporting role.

LinaSVas

Much more refined summer citrus white floral, that has a decent lasting power, the kumquat not is a refreshing change to the usual bergamot or lemons.

Unisex. Summer. Low maintenance.

Applied an hour ago, and applied right now on my right wrist and on my left wrist is Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue eau intense (womens'),
They're very similar, yet, very different (to my trained nose).
Whereas the Montale is Citrusy (as fragrantica's note: "Citruses") with the Kumquat (sweet yet sour but mostly sweet), The Dolce&Gabbana is more Bergamot and Lemony with Apple.

The Montale is more citrusy and kumquaty while missing the Apple note and a bit more floral (white).
Both lack heavy woody nuances which the original Dolce&Gabbana Light blue has (which i adore and makes it truly unisex), yet the Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue eau intense contains a bit more woody profile and nuances than the Montale (from the bamboo).
The Montale is very Montale-y (not necessarily a good thing nor a bad thing), the Dolce&Gabbana is more Italian, Summery, Mouthwatering and blended better.

Both are musky at the base and musk heavy.

Both are amazing summer fragrances.

Longevity and Sillage is yet to be tested, i'll update soon.

Update:
The Montale lasts 6-8 hours
The Dolce lasts 4-6 hours.
Both project the same, the dolce is maybe a little bit better.

BigBobRoss

Fresh musky citrus scent with a slight spicy peppery undertone, unisex scent for the mature audiences

Poor longevity and sillage expected more for the price

giparisan

On me the drydown is almost identical as Jo Malone’s Wood Sage and Sea Salt. Which I find brilliant since WSSS is one of my favourite scents ever but it has no lasting power, while this one seems to last longer. I’m definitely getting a full bottle

tuturudka

I am super curious to see if this reminds of CK Summer Daze. It seems that most of the notes are the same but we should agree that CK Summer is times less expensive than Montale. So - has anyone ever tried both to give opinion?

MrAbbas

Great summery scent. Its like D&G light blue intense for women mixed with Hermes H24, the result is great summer scent that is positive and sexy at the same time. I absolutely love it and really impressed that Montale can do citrus well instead of only heavy ouds. Blind buy worthy for sure. Performance is very good too.

Edit: My colleague loved it a lot while I was in his car so I gave him the sample. He said it smelled really good.

Zizi518

After trying many heavier fragrances with that 'burnt sugar' DNA and/or oud in my Montale discovery set, this is breath of fresh air. Soleil de Capri opens with a rich, pungent, sweet, fresh, tart, sparkling citrus accord. There is also a very strong kumquat note which is probably what's making this very sweet for a citrus scent. The opening makes me think of drinking a refreshing cocktail with a lot of slices of different citruses on top, in a fancy tropical resort by the water. The tart citrus notes quickly fade and the kumquat becomes even more prominent. As it dries down, there is more sweetness, almost a little creamy, and the white floral notes come through more, making the fragrance a lot more feminine than the opening. Slightly spicy and woody (although no woody notes are listed). The notes in Coleil de Capri smell pretty high quality and natural, especially in the beginning. I do wish the bright citrusy opening lasted longer, but this fragrance overall has decent performance for a lighter scent profile. Overall this is a very pleasant, uplifting and relaxing scent, IMO smells quite unique for a citrus fragrance due to the prominent kumquat note.

Cherry_Darling

Oh this is gorgeous. Citruses day for me. Burst of citrus - tart almost bitter but lovely grapefruit turns into a sweet kumquat with cinnamon and a touch of ginger and anise to me. Christmassy drydown, but mostly citrus. Love!

missloveschocolate

This is love from the first second.
Incredibly fresh, like a breath of fresh Mediterranean air. Kumquats, citrus, grapefruit is a bit less present. But you see that’s the beauty of this fragrance. It’s not just a plain citrusy perfume. It’s not a plain white floral perfume. The mix of citrus white flowers and spices is so well done it’s incredibly balanced. It has some fresh, marine, masculine note which I absolutely love. I can definitely imagine my husband wearing it. This is going to be my everyday perfume this summer for sure.
THIS is my perfect vacation perfume, fresh, yet stunning and well done, not a strangling mix of cocoa and tropic fruits/flowers.
Can’t wait to take it to the beautiful citrus and orange trees.

lemonbalmchai

This is D&G Light Blue's more sophisticated cousin. The smells in this perfume are very crisp, House of Montale did a great job at being true and fair to every note in this perfume. Not only do the notes have a juiciness to them, they are so sharp that it feels as though someone has plucked the citrus directly from the bush and is holding it up to your nose. What a beautiful scent! I personally don't enjoy fragrances that lean too much on the citrus side, but this smells like summer. I would happily wear this to the beach.

cp4044404

My first impression of this was how similar the opening was to Jimmy Choo Man Ice. Sharp Lemony citrus blast that stays like that for the first two hours on my skin. Eventually sweetened up a little bit and got closer to my skin. Great Summer day fragrance, very inoffensive and can be worn by men & women of all ages.

Mariyamokshina

Smells like Irish spring soap scent that’s citrusy and non soapy . It’s refreshing and does not smell cheap .

somefire

My least favorite perfume house is Clean Reserve, and this smells like something by them. It's clean, fresh, synthetic, boring, and persistent. Lots of lemon, muted white flowers, and a lingering powdery musk. This could be laundry detergent. This is a major departure from the typical Montale (no rose to be found!), and I can see some people loving this (my partner, who never comments on my fragrance, complimented this one...can't win 'em all!), but this is a scrubber for me.

Edemay

This scent is everything
Soapy, green, citrusy, spicy
Yet its not too much, its not too masculine and it smells expensive.
Like you're staying in a resort villa on some tropical island and you've just showered up after being in the sea all day and your getting ready for a fancy dinner with your partner.
I also smell fig leaf in here, prominently. Which usually I find too much but this perfume just has such a great balance.
This scent is not very sweet its more so fresh, I like to sometimes layer it with light blue when Im in the mood for sweetness and citrus.
This scent is so 'organic' smelling to me I don't know how people are getting chemical smells but each to their own

Helenka_Pinda

This is a very unsophisticated lemon scent that reminds me of furniture polish or a bathroom freshener. I am trying really hard to like something from Montale, but so far I find everything from this brand garish.

nicolekmb

Hear me out: this smells to me like if you mixed Light Blue with Delina by Parfums de Marly!

I fell in love from the initial spray when I bought Montale's best seller discovery kit & ordered this one right away! I'm a huge lover of citruses and Delina is my signature scent, so when I smelt this, it smelled unique - yet very familiar!

It had this sparkling citrusy freshness that Light blue has the initial few minutes, and then it becomes smooth - and has that "bubble gum" scent that Delina has! Absolutely stunning & unlike any citrus i've ever smelt 😍

missvie

this is such a good realistic citrus, it smells exactly like when you crack open a pomello! delicious

gigiok

I have tested this a few days ago. Really nice, fresh, not disturbing citrus scent. But it's not worth the price, there are similar citrus perfumes in drugstores.

katheryne_art

It opens very green and citrusy and then it becomes very similar to the original Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue, which I am not a fan of (mine is ordered directly from Montale website too). There is just no sweetness at all in these perfumes, that's why I don't like them.

mfleij

First impression: Suave Daily Clarifying Shampoo circa 1994. It never comes out from that scent. It’s not a bad thing, but it’s a cheap scent. Maybe it smells fancy to those who didn’t grow up buying this shampoo at the local $1 store, but it’s all I can smell. I did reapproach for the dry down. Still the same, but now I can define the scents better. It’s like if Suave made a scent booster for the 1994 version of Suave daily clarifying shampoo. Even without that knowledge, I don’t think it’s worth the cost for a bottle. If you want to smell like you just came from the shower it’s great. It’s super generic though.

Fleurie20

A citrus bomb.
It opens extremely citrusy. Sharp and harsh. Then after the initial 2 mins it calms down a bit and stay that way till fades away. It seems like being linear is a characteristic of most Montale perfumes (base on roughly 15 scents I’ve tried so far from them)

Similae to Jacquis, I find it hard to categorize this as a fragrance, it smells more like a very fresh floor cleaner / fabric detergent to me. Longevity and sillage are standard.

No, this does not resemble D&G Light Blue one bit.
Mine is ordered directly from Montale US website.

Kusuma_TH

Open smell is quite sharp but after dry down the smell is much softer. It is a citrus scent with a hint of small luxury. Smells like fabric softener or liquid soap that are durable and fresh all day long.

Jacquis

On my skin, this does not resemble Light Blue in the slightest. Montale Soleil de Capri is a very unusual, strange, synthetic, metallic, citrus fragrance. I hesitate to call it perfume because it's so cold. I first tested this fragrance about a year ago and quickly wrote it off as being "chemical house cleaner." Too strange.

However, today is the day after Thanksgiving and I am feeling satiated and overindulged. I have reached the point where I do not want to see or smell anything gourmand for another week. I need to cleanse and detox my nose and body. Water, green salads and more water for the next week. What perfume will fit this occasion?

Montale Soleil de Capri.

Surprise to me! This perfume is giving me the stark, freshness that I need to reset my whole system. It is great on fabric, not so much on my skin. It blends well with the 55 degree weather and assaults my senses beautifully. It's the cold, palate cleansing perfume that I need on a cool day.

This is a strange one. But, it's calling my name today and I'm answering eagerly.

Spirit Rose

On me, I don’t smell the resemblance to Light Blue at all. Beyond the first spray, I don’t get much citrus, and even what I do is a very sweet orange. Beyond that, my skin pulls out the spices, and that’s what stays with me. I wore this in the heat at a festival, and my friend didn’t seem to notice it. It’s a pleasant scent, especially nice for someone looking for summer spices, but in the end I’m not interested in a full bottle. Just a like for me.

savvyminx

I got the Montale Fruits & Vanillas discovery set* and I am SO disappointed in the entire line. I'm sad I wasted $30 with shipping to try these 7 'fragrances' because they're either just awful or my skin chemistry is dead wrong for them.

This is the only one in the set that I didn't absolutely hate. It's a very weak and unimaginative citrus scent. It's a bit weird because the other 6 were offensively strong and long lasting with enormous sillage, but this one is a mere whisper of office-safe body spray.

*Discovery set includes: Vanilla Absolu, Sweet Vanilla, So Amber, Dark Purple, Intense Cafe, Chocolate Greedy, Soleil de Capri

talkaboutscents

As mentioned many times, has more than just a similarity to D&G Light Blue, therefore in my mind will never be a unisex (let alone masculin) scent. It smells amazing of course, and I’d say stronger than Light Blue. A perfect women scent for summer days and nights. Reminds me of sweet/fresh lemon icecream and apricots somehow.

killandrob

This by no way masculine in my book. So much white floral notes makes me want to give this to my girl friend. The scent opens with a mild citrus note, moves very quickly to floral then the musk mixes with floral notes.

This would be great scent for a girl / woman.

SandyMelak

Oh wow I did not imagine montal copying dolce and Gabbana!!

This is copy Of D&G light blue for women !
well it is more rich and more ( intense )
so it came close to the D&G light blue intense .

soooooo
To be honest it is stronger in sillage and lasting hour , BUT .. If I have to choose 1 I will be light blue just because it is the original and showing appreciation for the scent!

I dont believe the identical scent came by accident!.

cursive123

citrusy slightly soapy opening

dries into a more warm woody scent with citrus background that is fairly soft

it's just very very safe overall, i got this to be a office scent because i wanted a safe choice. This is maybe a little too safe imo

I don't really know if this is something worth the price that it costs; it's fresh for sure but it's just so safe and basic smelling, not that i've smelled things exactly like this but i have smelled this vs some other bleu's / fresh scents and they are all better than this just because they have personality.

This to me is like really really zesty soap but without that really gaging soapy smell.

Is it worth 100? i suppose if you want something that is very safe for work but you don't want to stand out AND you don't want to offend someone then this is a pretty good choice.

If you don't like that Ambroxan / Musk smell that many of these scents have but you want a clean/fresh citrusy scent then this is best for you

So if you hate Sauvage/Bleu de Chanel/Coach/Dylan Blue, but you want that DNA without that musk or without any real balls to be frank, then this is perfect for you because it's woody, it's citrus and that's basically it, it is for sure clean/fresh but it's not like those mass appealing scents because it doesn't have that attention grabber than these have, some have more musk than others some have more incense or tonka or some have a lil more citrus notes, this doesn't have that at all! it's kinda weird that this is a Niche scent tbh because compared to those others, they seem more unique than this imo.

This is about as a generically 'safe' and clean scent as you could get, it's actually scary!

I wear this to Church and Church events...Thats it! That's how 'safe' this scent is!

eholley485

Very nice citrus scent. Great for summer.

Veedabestchef

This remind of that kenzo fragrance can't remember what it was.Anyway very citrusy almost like candied citrus with a cherry vibe like lip gloss flavored. Great for warm weather sunny day.Haven't gotten a full wearing. Will update soon.

cranky137

A niche version of Light Blue. Seriously! While I like both, I don't know which of these I would buy since D&G is so well sold and can be found at half price at major department stores during sale periods and Montale is a bit more expensive. This is a safe blind buy if you like Light Blue.

I have Mancera wild fruits and I see absolutely no similarity between these two. I was afraid they would be very close and did not purchase. Now I see that they are different.

Similar scent is Atelier Cologne Cedar Atlas.

Grasshoppaaa

Heavily sugared Mediterranean floral. Very fresh and inspiring at first. The composition is almost like a complexified version of the style Neroli Portofino Acqua is composed in, only replacing the legendary neroli for a lighter, hazier white floral arrangement.

Unfortunately, as nice as it starts out, it quickly gets boring (lacking a strong base), thus effectively reducing its wearability to the style of classic Italian cologne (which was only intended to be worn for the duration of a few hours while out running errands). It could be decant worthy at most imo, but even then I think it would end up being a rare grab for a very high-spirited day.

Pez_Enelrio

Inoffensive, and pleasant but for the Montale price its not too original, its similar to light blue but more lasting and sweeter.10/7

OTA Mom

Similar to Light Blue. The top is a sweeter citrus mix and I like it better, in fact I really like it, but the drydown is just as screechy.

Baseeta

I love how the sourish grapefruit and kumquat keep this from being too sweet, the white flowers keep it fresh, and the musk and spice give it just a bit of grounding and mystery. I really don't get the haters for this one.

DR521

There are so many bad reviews for Montales, but I kind of take them with a grain of salt. There are fakes out there, and its true that some Montales these days are thinner and simpler in the dry down than they used to be. I like them because they are easy to decipher and often smell good, for a long time. And if you care to explore, they have their charms. This one starts out with a bit of a salon shampoo/ expensive hair product smell that blooms into mimosa with a feel of honey, pollen, and something a little bit green. Close up it reminds me of the smell of little yellow wildflowers in the summertime, maybe marigolds too. This is created via the citruses so it may be skin chemistry dependent. It's really quite a remarkable scent although within five hours I can no longer smell it.

It's a pleasant smell in the 88 degree Los Angeles heat. I would wear it if I owned it.

NataliaChudo

Unusually boring and plain for Montale. I expected some powerful bitter citruis blended with intoxicating white flowers on kick-butt animalistic musk base. Instead we have a well-made scent for summer that does not bother you, pleases you but upon finishing a bottle you would not even remember its name. Usual, normal. Probably is appealing to many wearers. I do not see it as a unisex. I have 20 ml and it probably will last me for ages due to seldom use.

ChrisSmellsGood

Smells like a slightly more spicy version of Lalique White. However, the quality is much better. Lalique White gives me a headache and it does this weird thing where you smell it one minute, then you cant smell it for a while, and then you suddenly get whifs of it again. Soleil de Capri gave me a similar fragrance that I enjoy, but without the headache and weird behavior.

Also, for what its worth, I wore this tonight and received a compliment from a friend of mine who is IMPOSSIBLE to please when it comes to fragrances. He flat out tells me he hates ALL of my colognes....all 30ish of them, which I have worn at different points in time when hanging out with him. Tonight he got in my car and said "mmm, it smells nice in here. Is that a cologne"? So, considering this, it improved my liking for this fragrance, since it smelled nice to someone who hates everything else I own.

This fragrance is the PERFECT amount of citrus and the top notes last a very long time. Its almost a spicy lemon/lime scent. Its a great play it safe, people pleaser for summer.

ScarlettX

This is amazingly good, I love it. Reminds me of D&G's Light Blue, the new edition of Light Blue, Love in Capri and Kenzo's Jeune Yellow.
All the good things.
It's citrusy and white floral in a modest lemonade or lemon candy kind of way.
So fresh and nice, I really like to think of warm weather and sunny beach, when I smell it.
This is my most favorite scent by Montale.
It's just perfection! A new one for my wish list.

A nice non zingy sweet citrusy summer fragrance. I do love citrus fragrances but they do need a bit of pep. This a sweet dumbed down citrus. You wouldnt feel refreshed if you spritzed this on. Moderate sillage and longevity which isnt bad for a citrus dominated fragrances.

Fantastic! Could eat it ;)

I find this a very inspiring fragrance and the name suits to it perfectly. It's very floral and fruity... a summer sunset in a bottle. An unusual creation by Montale, but a solid one. A good choice for the summer.

This starts pretty nice with some bright lemony citrus and a touch of mandarin-sweetness but then an odd buttery-creamy note appears that imo turns me off,, as delicious as the description may sound!

But if you think about it, butter and citrus (lemon/orange) fruits + savoury butter is a pretty odd mix. I think just adding a bold vanilla instead, or a rich amber would have added more more richness and better complimented the fragrance. It's also much lacking without any sort of woodsy addition,,

I think also; maybe Lily of the Valley would have been a much more appropriate floral, both clean, rich yet 'fresh transparent' airy.

In the end it's a soft, fruity buttery musk that first appears a nice idea but sadly could have been much better if a few standard ingredients like woods and vanilla were used instead bcasue the initial lemony/organey brightness is very pleasing but unbalanced with the 'wrong' richness of florals instead of more fitting 'desserty' vanilla.

For comparison, Creed's Jardin d'Amalfi is a better done option by some way, if much,, much pricier, so I'm unsure which one to recommend here!

Scent: 5/10.
Quality: 8/10.

On one hand I have Soleil de Capri and on the other I sprayed Midnight Rain from La Prairie. On my skin it's almost impossible to tell them apart. Maybe, just maybe is Midnight Rain a bit stronger or sweeter. I adore Midnight Rain, so I could say that Soleil from Montale is a perfume worth buying.

Encici

perfect blue scent for me. It reminds me to light blue from D&G indeed, but more creamy and floral. Longivity is great and perfect for summertime.

kimberlylizkennedy

Very similar to Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana. But a little brighter and less lemony.

esteban747

Kumquat, flowers and some spices.
It's more floral than citrus and yet the kumquat and grapefruit are there.
It's nice but it feels as if the citrus and the flowers are clashing constantly as to see which one will be the dominant.

I don't know if the name "Capri" sits well on this fragrance. Something in this composition gives me a "mature" type of vibe.

I was expecting something light, more airy and citrus.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian snuck a 'test batch' of Acqua Universalis Forte into Montale's line-up. Sumptuous and slightly creamy white flowers and gentle yellow citrus provide a bright and uplifting opening. And.... and....it takes us down a straight and narrow road remaining quite linear with just a touch of spice and clean white musk in the drydown. I agree with Cake n' Cuddles, the citrus needs some sparkle to make this truly interesting. Soleil de Capri is just flirty enough to be loveable yet stops short at 'like.'

Score for a guy 5/10 for a woman 6.5/10
Projection and sillage are good, longevity is great, higher score given for women because the white florals make this traditionally feminine versus masculine.

dinaia

Very fresh, citric, unisex fragrance, but perfect for hot weather or working out as it gives a refreshing, energetic vibe without getting too sour or unpleasant. I especially like it for summer.

Strangely and totally unexpectedly my most complimented perfume along with Hermes eau de Merveilles! Has something smoky that makes it really sensual!

Just tried a sample of this directly from Montale. It is very fresh and clean smelling. I can't tell one note from the other. Basically, it's very pretty and nice. Unique also and long lasting. I'm sure there will be many loving this fragrance, if they give it a try. Citrus and floral sums it up pretty much. Summertime fragrance for sure. Too floral for me.

PricklyAndHot

This citrusy fragrance reminds Light Blue by Dolce&Gabbana a lot, only Light Blue is much more interesting.

Nothing special(

When I first tried this on paper I was really amazed by its freshness, it was kinda unique to me, and it's not easy when you talk about fresh scents. It reminded me of fresh tomatoes with oilve-oil on a sun-roof in the Capri bay, really. It was totally evocating, but then I decided to try it on my skin and what came out was an orrible "lemon-cake-just-took-out-from-the-hoven" that was really unaffordable. Sweet toasted candies, warm and sticky. No Way!

At first, I sensed citruses, spices, and tea, but after a while, the sharpness of the scent got to me, and I had to wash it off. Honestly, it reminds me of Vivienne Westwood - Libertine without the leather note. Maybe I prefer Libertine because of the leather.

This one has amazing longevity. I scrubbed it off with soap and hot water, and it's still on my wrist, emerging from beneath another fragrance I used to try to cover it up!

Antea13

Similar to Light blue D&G.

I have a sample of this and love it. It smells like very freshly brewed tea that has been iced. Although that is not in it's notes, that is what it smells like to me. Very invigourating and long lasting.

This one strays a bit from the Montale line.

Its very fresh and you could not identify it as a Montale without seeing the label.

You can use it in summertime on its own, or you can combine it with other Montale fragrance to make it lighter and fresher. With my beloved Red Auod for instance, its makes it more wearable for office use.
