Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Narciso was launched in 2014. The nose behind this fragrance is Aurelien Guichard. Top notes are Gardenia and White Rose; middle note is Musk; base notes are White Cedar Extract, Cedar and Vetiver.

Fashion designer Narciso Rodriguez became celebrated in the world of perfumes with his debut Narciso Rodriguez For Her from 2003. That minimalist name and design, as well as musky sensuality adorn his latest olfactory creation that comes out in September of 2014—feminine fragrance Narciso Eau de Parfum.

"I wanted to create an extremely sexy fragrance that would turn a man’s head,” announces the designer, with the description, “The sensuality becomes a little bit more sexy, a little bit more intoxicating.”

The composition is composed of white gardenia and rose above the warm heart of musk. The base includes woody accords of vetiver and two types of cedar: black and white.

The bottle is simple: square, milky white with the name printed in black letters. The face of the perfume is a model Raquel Zimmermann.

I’m selling this perfume for AUD 100. Selling in Melboune Australia

Encici

This is my second review here and just as important as the first one😄. I was a little bit nostalgic lately, this was my signature from the first time it came out till it was discontinued and disappeared totally from the shelves in my country. You can imagine the heartbreak I went through.. Although meanwhile I found my new signature and I am totally happy with that, I wanted to have this again, so I ordered The Verset version, thanks to @Thesmellofmynose review below. I had the Nicolas white from Yodeyma in the past but I decluttered it, because I felt it to be too synthetic and harsh and I had the real thing back then so I didn't needed it.
If you want the Narciso, but it is not available for you (I think you still can purchase it in the US), you can safely order Vivian by Verset!! As someone who used up around 50 bottles of the white cube, I can tell you that the Verset version is fantastic. It projects and lasts very well. Very very close to the original, 95%. The first spray was different, but as it develops on my skin, I cannot really tell apart. Maybe a tiny little less creamy. I don't feel the need anymore to start a petition to bring back the Narciso. And also wanted to leave this comment, so more people get to know about a fantastic substitute and hopefully it will stay on the market.

CarolinaM007

Selling my 90ml like new bottle. Please note this is now discontinued and harder to find, I’m only selling it because I’m moving and this one of my heaviest bottles. Dm me if interested located in US.

bring it back, Narcisco!

My mum has a sample of this since I was little and I remember getting a headache from smelling it the first time on accident. Flash forwards about 7 years later, when I start getting into perfumery, I decided to give this a second chance and oh my! Creamy, musky baby powder dream clouds. I still get nauseous at the opening, probably because of the cedar note, but once that fades it is a gorgeous gorgeous scent. Best powdery perfume on the market imo. The rose plays nicely in the background while the musk and gardenia are the main characters. So incredibly smooth and creamy that it's almost edible. Borderline baby powder but still retained enough elegance in its composition to be very seductive and serious. She is elegant, she is mature, she wears a tilted floppy hat, she is the reason why I adore powdery perfumes. She is also strong as hell, so be mindful. I tried 3 sprays and was embarrassed for the rest of the night because some people within my arm length was choking.

Other than that, I adore everything about Narciso; complex but linear scent, vintage yet youthful, reminiscence to one's earlier days, all while being content with the present. I'd wear this as a signature scent when I get older.

Orbco97

@thesmellofmynose I’ll order versest Vivian this week and I’ll update. I’m so picky with dupes cuz I can smell sometimes plasticky notes, but sounds amazing .

Thesmellofmynose

For everybody missing this beautiful scent: go buy Verset Vivian, it is a Spot On flanker. It has great lasting power and I couldnt tell it apart from Narciso white cube. Go get it!

Ferish

I found and blind bought the white cube just based on all those reviews like “pls bring it back!!!” 😄 I will update this review when I get it.

——UPDATE—-

I have never ever been happier with a blind buy than I had with this one! I feel so lucky to find a bottle. It is so smooth, attractive musk! Opening was a little harsh but it faded away in couple minutes. I hope they bring it back 🥹

Dennis Derboven

Selling my 45% full 50ml bottle, eu only (shipping from belgium). Let me know if interested! 50,-

Orbco97

I hope they bring this back. This scent is the best sophisticated musk/woody fragrance without smelling vintage.

Why did they discontinue this?
I’m sure they’ll bring it back eventually cuz people are outraged.

MagdalenaM07

I tested this in store with a dead nose years ago (don’t try to smell every single fragrance in multiple department stores in one day lol) I couldn’t appreciate it at the time, after learning it was being discontinued I decided to buy a bottle just incase I was wrong— and boy was I! It’s such a cozy musk! I’m upset I didn’t get a bottle sooner. I now spend my days hunting down and sometimes paying exorbitant prices for beautiful discontinued fragrances because I don’t like a lot of the new stuff being produced. This needs to be brought back asap.

CRiche

I absolutely love musk. This is one of my favorites along with Noa by Cacharel, Glossier You, Narciso Poudree, Narciso Pure Musk. I found a 150ml bottle and a 100ml as back up. I can’t believe it’s discontinued 😭

missile414

Kind of nauseating, too milky and lactonic for me. I don't get true gardenia at all, rather a milky simulation of a certain facet of the white flower amped up to the max. But I do understand when others say they love this, because it has personality and character. Still a shame it was discontinued.

hnk11

Creamy airy clean musk. Absolutely heartbroken that this has been discontinued. Great on its own and for layering.

TheDeleeShow

Another beautiful and clean classic from Narciso Rodriguez! I love this scent, and often layer it with a scent like Thierry Mugler’s Alien Eau Extraordinaire. It’s light enough to wear any time of the day, and clean enough to wear with a nice light outfit in the summer - or a cream coloured cashmere sweater in the colder months.

621moni

I wore this for a while, I really did love the creamy muskiness of it. But I really wish I could swap out the rose for something else. Ultimately too powdery and rose is one of my most disliked notes.

leahlzander

Abstract woody musk. A little sweet, a little lactonic, and transparent enough to let the light in. This might be love.

Makeup Discourse

There is this one person you always run into when you visit the park. You smile at them every time you cross paths, and you decide maybe the next time I see them, I'll just say "hi" and see if we connect. But as time passes, you keep procrastinating and the next time you visit the park, you don't see them. You wait for your next visit to see them and wait for them to show up, but no luck. You indirectly ask other people who know them, and they tell you what you already know. You get on the internet and start looking up their name, and you look for them but this other person looking like them shows up. Now you are confused. What if it is the wrong person? And then one fine day, while looking them up, they show up in your searches and you go get them!

This was exactly how I could snag one of the last bottles. I always smelled this and Poudree in the fragrance aisle and was always torn between the two because I'd smell both one after the other and they smelled almost identical. So I never really made a decision. When I read this was being discontinued, I sought it out in various stores and finally found one! I regret not getting this one sooner. This is such a subtle, soft, clean, comforting woody musk with a dash of rose and prominent gardenia notes. This is very powdery. Overspraying this has given me a headache; I keep it to four sprays.

This fragrance is reminiscent of a love letter composed by musk to rose, of wearing a fluffy soft jacket on a wintry morning. This both is a ten-word text message expressing love and a 700-page book glorifying your beloved.

I will cherish this fragrance till it's last spray.

bubblepoppin

Like the rouge flanker, this is also my gateway drug to the fragrance world. White florals with a tad of woody. To me this screams wedding, and I do mostly use this to attend weddings.

DreamInCream

I had previously tried Narcisco for her in the beautiful, black bottle. It was very strong and masculine to me. There is a hard, glossy edge that obscures all other notes. I thought this one would be better for me with the gardenia to smooth it out and give some creaminess, and it does. However, it still retains a kind of buzzing, hard edge that takes over. I think it may be that there is a lot of vetiver in this. Not sure, but I couldn't get past it.

barbkory

I'm looking for this, if anyone is selling it, please message me. Thank you!

ssamhita

Just Narciso. Pristine and white. Crisp and clean. A lot of people find it creamy and lotion like but to me it’s like a breath of fresh air. I can almost feel my insides cool just a little bit each time I take a whiff. I know there’s Gardenia here along with rose, cedar and vetiver but these are just the background on which the musk can shine. Sparkly almost.

I own the black cube - the EDT - and that one’s deeper and richer and I definitely get the woody rose here. But this one? This ethereal scent that envelopes me in a white cloud? I can’t for the life of me make out one note from the other, except for that musk.

Wearing it on a grey gloomy day and loving the way it becomes one with my skin. If “my skin but better” was a fragrance, this would be it :)

qianqian

Very similar to For Her Intense by Tiffany.

herzl_f

Please trust me when I say that this pairs so well with Initio's Psychedelic Love. The latter gives this scent an aphrodisiac facet that it lacks.

lanascherry

One of the few musk based fragrances that work with my skin chemistry. When I first got into perfumery, I was looking for something light and clean, so obviously I have tried many musk scents, yet nearly all of them literally made me stink like sweat. Eventually this happened to most musk based perfumes, as after some time the top notes stopped covering the sweaty musk and I always got so tired and disappointed every time I tried any of them. To my surprise, after having this issue with the entire Narciso Rodriguez For Her line, I discovered this scent and it finally gave me what I was looking for - a clean musk scent.

Sophiè de l'Orient

Although I was very young when I first smelled this fragrance, I was caught off guard by its nuanced sensuality. It is not an "in your face sexy" type of scent, not at all assertive - it gives off an elevated, more mature and sophisticated attractiveness. Musk is quite obvious here, but so are the gardenia and the cedars and the vetiver. Its intimacy is so deep - rooted, it is almost intoxicating!

cdsabino

If anyone is selling a 3 oz 90 ml of this white cube bottle, please message me.

Erianwyn

I hunted this down like a lion stalking a gazelle after reading the reviews and it took some serious finding, but I’ve tracked down a 50ml cube which arrived today, and OH. MY. GOD. I initially thought I had made a huge mistake blind buying based on internet hype (again) because the opening was a strong, sharp cedar blast, but within about a minute it had dried down to an absolutely beautiful, creamy, gentle musk. I’m also pleased that a little goes a long way as two sprays have been enough for me, which is a huge bonus considering it’s a nightmare to get hold of a bottle. I am curious to compare with my beloved Poudree and see which I love the most. I can’t make this one my signature scent though because as much as I want to burn through it, I’m going to be savouring this beauty.

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

Wow...wow wow wow! I blind-bought after falling so deeply, terribly, hopelessly in love with NR Poudree. And my trust in you all, in the brand, in the nose-inside-my-brain was so strong that I bought two bottles, because they seem to be for sale just fine if you search--but I was afraid that was a fluke and the whole 'discontinued' thing would bite me and I would have a hard time finding another bottle someday. Thank goodness I bought two, my faith in the aforementioned was warranted and 10000000% correct. THIS SHIT IS
a m a z i n g.

First off, everything I've been reading--the kind things about this fragrance you've all been so sweet to share--it's all correct. This is ABSOLUTELY SPOT-ON how I imagined, in my brain-nose thanks to a list of notes and the ramblings of you fragrance-friends. What a "masterpiece." It's insane how beautiful it is. WHY would you DISCONTINUEEEEEEEE??!!!!!!!

I really think this and Poudree are both equally good, in their own ways. It doesn't matter which one I claim to like better because I have a feeling that opinion would change with the day. I think there's a mood for either one, yet they're both so appropriate for anything, any time...anywhere.

This one starts strong, a little...what's the word...'menthol,' maybe? Cold. The cedar is very cold-smelling upon first spray. Very intense, but it calms down after not long and you're left with that lotion-esque musk, smelling like OLD MONEY--not to be confused with OLD LADY. Oh my godddd if you don't love this, I understand, but I absolutely urge you to give it a second, third, fourth chance and see if you change your mind. I, again, as with Poudree, am reminded of unnecessarily egregiously-priced hand creams I would see in downtown Colorado Springs...of course, looking back, $30 is only a lot for a hand cream when you're 14 years old, but I digress. To refer back to my review on Poudree, my mom would have liked this one. I'm not sure she'd have worn it, but I could imagine her gifting this to me, or (and this might be morbid, but) maybe I would have found the lotion in this scent when helping my dad go through her things after she passed. Not that any of that matters in a review, just a note. Another motherly scent, TO ME. I don't really detect the whole 'post-coitus' thing, haha. Maybe that's my post-partum sex drive (or lack thereof) speaking. I actually think Poudree is the 'sexier' one out of the two, though, even that one is not...oozing sexuality or anything.

Where Poudree puts me in this calm and lovely mood, this is uplifting, almost energizing? It's still so comfy and cozy, but I can't wait to wear her out and see how she smells in the sunshine...I feel like such a pretty, classy lady in Narciso fragrances! As Narciso always intended.

Lasts forever on clothing. That's the only time I detect 'pencil shavings,' but it isn't bothersome to my nose at all. I am the type of girl who would LOVE and wishes there were such a thing as a Home Depot scented candle, though.

Update: It's by far my favorite of the cubes, so sad that it's so hard to get--I have two backups and that's probably where I'll stop. I'm really in love, I wish it could be a daily wear!

@Hansa1502, thank you for the dupe alert! I came here to share mine. You guys, I found a pretty spot on dupe, of course, not as perfect as our beloved Narciso, however very similar and the price is pretty low - Chogan perfumes 053. I mean, it does not last as long and all that jazz, but I can finally spray at least something very similar to my beloved discontinued baby.

Hansa1502

This is my favourite favourite perfume of all time, followed by Narciso poudre, and narciso Rouge. I also love gucci guilty the original one and the new one as well. I was quite disheartened when i got to know that they have discontinued the narciso white cube. 😓😓😓😓 but i found a great dupe, Yodeyma Nicolas White. Omg !!!

lizardqueen

A Capricorn fragrance, classy and elegant. I find it also perfectly unisex. The white musk here is soft and cuddly with just a hint of something dark and skanky underneath. It feels simultaneously comforting and edgy. Black lace under white cashmere.

Gokyyy11

Probably one of my favorite fragrance by far. I am really upset with discontinued fragrances I love. It’s beast mode with great longevity, unique, wonderful musky perfume. I have been trying to find a replacement for a long time but no way… There is any, even mini resemblance with Givenchy Ange Ou Demon which I also adore with. I really think that everyone smells different on same thing:)

ranch

I think this is a bit too mature for my liking. Powdery, fresh, makes me feel very sophisticated lol. It’s giving “I’ve got $500k+ in my savings” which is not me.. not a bad scent though!

Smokeandhoney

I don’t find the opening to be sharp per-sé, it’s just a bit different; dare I say a little strange—but in the best way. The florals feel dessert like, almost as if they’ve been crystallised or perhaps worked into a Turkish delight… but never, ever overly done. Just a gentle caress of something sweet, perhaps there’s a little amber in here but not listed? Maybe it’s just how the musc and florals coexist on my skin? I don’t know but what I DO know is I that I thoroughly enjoy this perfect piece of perfumery. Unconventionally intoxicating, captivating and addictive, subtle yet powerful. A delectable dry down which I’m totally, totally here for—and it is so persistent. Bold and sophisticated florals that don’t rear too “mature”, captured beautifully by Aurélien Guichard who happens to be one of my favourites to construct a gardenia accord, the signature powdery, fluffy, clean NR musc, it isn't a laundry musc in here... isn’t funky by any means but it is what I would say “cute cuddly” animalic—finishing with whispers of lactonic, marshmallowy, confectionary sweetness almost like condensed milk but think of it in powder form however, it doesn’t verge into gourmand. I hope I’ve been able to describe this fragrance and it’s overall mood, texture, feeling and scent—to me. I’m so sorry that it’s discontinued. Narciso Rodriguez bring back this treasure. I will personally buy 10 bottles in one go.

Like lying on a bed of delicate gardenia flowers and white rose petals, nuzzling a fluffy white kitten with a silky, milky, twinkling vanilla marshmallow dusting on its fur.

Like the breath of an angel.

Beeboss

Martin Lion made a dupe of this and it was about 9€! Very qualitative, too!

Oriental_Dream

I have a 30ml, 50ml and 100ml. Located in Australia 🇦🇺

Melody Valentine

For people asking about a similar perfume, get Yodeyma Paris, Nicolas White. It's a straight clone of it. It's on the reminds me of list on here.

ballerinanoir

Lady Boss scent. My work fragrance along with poudree version.

Sillage : moderate
Lasting power : 5 - 7h
I scent musk and cedar. Creamy composition. Love it.

Lovaloo

I wish I could smell these Narciso releases the way they were meant to be perceived, but sadly, try as I might, I can't seem to find a Narciso that agrees with me.

Take this one for instance. The guidebook authors gave it a 5/5. What do I smell? Colorless, creamy white flower chemicals, play-doh, soft yet scratchy woody amber notes. A ton of texture. Silky, smooth, dusty, powdery... but within seconds I become partially anosmic and it smells like a mess.

Duckling

This was a blind buy for me today - my first blind buy ever. I thought I would love it based on the notes and reviews here, but I don’t. It’s kinda cloying, and I think the AI description of ‘elegant and mature’ is pretty spot on - I prefer something a bit more quirky and less refined.

madelineandmore

For those of you sad that this is discontinued
go and smell Valaya by PDM
Very similar

Perfumeismydrug

This maybe my most favourite from the NR line of fragrances.
I was lucky to find this online at one of the retailers. I couldn’t even believe they actually had it. So when this was delivered which was just 15mins back I was super eager to open and check if this is actually what they sent lol
The first few spritzes and I was head over heels and now that I smell the dry down it’s become even more irresistible.
I placed an order for the back up already lol. I don’t have backups for any of the perfumes I own. This is the first one that made me do it lol
I normally shy away from musky scents but this one is an exception. It is soapy but not so much that I’d hate it. Also, the sweetness with the muskiness is delicious. The lactonic note makes this smell even more edible. The florals are so amazingly done they don’t induce a headache. All the notes are very well blended. No sharpness at all.
I love love love this ❤️

mamufa

I love it.
There is nothing else and nothing new I can write about this scent.
I love it.

Uka

floral, woody, musky goodness
one of the best smelling perfume I have
The only one perfume I have a backup of.
My love for life ❤️
Why do they always discontinue the best ones?

herculano

It smells like fresh cut white paper.

It smells like brand new diapers.

It smells like marshmallows.

It smells like a freshly cleaned, very plush, blanket, straight from the dryer.

It smells like freshly cut wood (cedar)

It smells like a still warm electric hair dryer.

It smells like clouds, unicorns, dryer sheets, and newness.

It’s the scent of the angelic realms.

It’s almost gourmand.

I thought I loved Poudree more but I was wrong.
This is a masterpiece.

Hope that helps.

PS. You won’t understand why this is delicious until you wear it for an hour.

Effect on men:

One man in my life found it boring and average. (My boyfriend)

A different guy in my life (my brother) went nuts for it (he found my travel spray on the kitchen counter) sprayed it on himself, and sniffed himself for hours afterward, compulsively. He wants a bottle for himself, but he also said he would go nuts if a woman wore this. He was absolutely over the moon for this.

I let him try Poudree, too, and he wasn’t nearly as impressed with that one.

AnnaMaria0307

This is so good; warm, powdery and comforting. Have been wearing it for years. Sad it's discontinued.

ingenpen

My love, you will be forever missed. Why do all the good ones go to perfume heaven? :( I am so hopeful this will make a comeback some day!

It is just a beautiful perfume, it is like a majestic woman that has everything under control, but she is not a boss bitch, she just has that angelic vibe and aura about her.

Classiclover84

Oh my goodness this perfume is a dream. Clean, cosy, musk beauty. This will be in my collection forever. It is the O.G for a reason 👍😍

TerriV

I finally had to try this after reading the glowing reviews. It lives up to it's reputation, and it is sad that it has been discontinued. However, Surrender to Chance offers large (10mL) decants if you need to get a fix. In addition, a very close dupe (and I think a step above) is Lilac Love by Amouage. Lilac Love is pricey, but worth every penny.

herculano

I finally tested this, and yes… I completely understand the love this one gets.

Unusual fragrance, tbh.

I love it. It gives the wearer a special sensual feeling, unlike any perfume I’ve ever tried. Hard to describe.

Someone here described it as “white noise” and that really hits the nail in the head.

But, I also tested Poudree and I must say I like it the best of the two. It gives me more or less the same feeling, but more feminine and without the harsh wood.

Really happy to discover that I prefer Poudree, because it means I don’t have to spend big bucks for a vintage discontinued perfume.

But, if the white cube were still in production and at the same price as Poudree, I’d probably buy it, too. It’s definitely the more unique of the two perfumes, and I did enjoy it when I wore it.

I will say that my boyfriend wasn’t very impressed with this one (white cube). He smelled it on me at dinner, and I asked him what he thought, and his answer was “meh”.

Update: I had to have a bottle, after all, and I do believe I like it better than Poudree.

Too beautiful and unusual to pass up while the prices are still within reason.

Nataliemarie

Out of ALLLLL of the NR, the ONE that worked for me has been discontinued. Doesn't make sense. There's at least 4 still in production that basically smell the same. This one was different enough to be BEST on me. A Shame! I see I am not alone.

Gyps

This perfume is really lovely, by far the best NR on my skin. I’ve bought a number of NR perfumes and have been disappointed every time by the lackluster performance, especially at the price tags they sell for. This one is stronger on me, creamy, woody and very well blended. I liked it as soon as I sprayed it on myself. It’s a shame it’s discontinued, as it’s something I would keep on buying. The prices online and on eBay are scandalous. I won’t pay that much, so I’ll have to use sparingly given I only have a 30ml bottle. To me, this sensual beauty could be worn anytime. Highly recommended.

Frabra88

Why is it no longer with us? Oh, why?
This was one of the first perfumes that made me think "there is more to it" in this hobby of mine. I understood, then, that perfumery can be art.

This is the scent of a fallen angel...the smell of the graces of heven still lingering on his wings, milky snowy gardenia and sweetened tender white rose....but he has acquired a sensual and sexual nature now, rendered through the musk; pulsating, animalic but still clean. Addictive warm profound musk. Capable of dulling the senses.
The angel has dirt on him, the earthy vetiver and the smell of the woods of the forest in wich now resides, alone. Some of the more cold and somber facets of the gardenia still there...conveing his lonliness.
The dreams of paradise ever haunt him but he is ready now to bask himself in his newly found human sensuality and vulnerability.

This perfume has grace, delicacy, cleanleness, romanticism, but also eroticism, sensuality and warmness all in one. Everything, from the flowers to the musk to the woods are exceptional; the white cedar extract is humid and almost lactonic, and paired with that innocent yet "cruel" gardenia made for one of the most beautiful and touching "white" accord ever.
It follows you everywhere and the musk and woods become a second skin. The opening has a particular effect, the florals made me think of white and pink lace and powder, but then they change in to something mature and detached.
The person who wears this is elegant, complex and unforgettable.

The scent fitted the brand's "high fashion bareness" quite well.
The ads were some of the best imagery since Calvin Klein's Obsession, in terms of how the scent pairs with the visuals.
The Narciso woman is a vulnerable, sensual, grounded creature.

The packaging was well chosen, and the prodouct's price fair considered the quality.
I wish the Narciso Rodriguez team could find in his heart the strenght to give this back to us. A reformulation should not be so difficoult with all the new well perfoming lilial substitutes.

I understand infact that this was discontinued because it had lilial in it and removed from shops for safety reasons.
I managed to buy a 50ml for an honest price (67,00 €) together with the Narciso Rodriguez Narciso edt, black cube version with transparent cap. I am even tempted to buy more (I scavengered every reputable italian online shop and found a few).
My new bottle is from 2015, I can't quite decide if it is a little turned because the opening is somewhat sour...a sort of hair spray effect, and more earthy. Instead the bottle I had left to macerate for years has a potent floral round smell in the opening, never smelled something so beautiful, and the musk multiplied its hot effect!!! The liquid a vivid pink. I am leaving my new bottle alone to do the same.

This is not comparable too much to his flankers other then the black cube Narciso edt...Narciso Poudree, very beautiful in iteself, is less woody, more tonka sweet, a powder bomb, the florals in it are another thing, so very different. The dna they share is through the body of musk (which I read was a mix of different musks materials united to recreate the egyptian black musk dear to Msr. Narciso Rodriguez). The same consideration can be made about Narciso Rouge edp, very make-upy, another love of mine.
The one more close to it is the Narciso Rouge edt (the one with red cube pack and transparent cap), since it has the same musk and woodiness/earthiness but still...the florals/muguet in it give a different vibe.
Narciso Neroli and Neroli Ambree start to deviate even further, with a more seasoned base; the new Narciso Cristal is not even a flanker anymore.
For even more references in the Rodriguez line, all the Narciso For Her line I find very different, they don't even share the same type of musk, there it is a little more dirty.
At the same time I must say that the house of Narciso Rodriguez has a very distinct identity and personality, dna is surely shared between all his offerings.
You could blind smell all of them and you would know they are Narciso Rodriguez. I feel it is worthy of respect when a house manages to do that without being redundant.

If I can finish this long review with a word of advice then I would suggest to everyone to give a chance to their men perfumes too; most of them are unisex and incredible, smell just like an androgynous angel! There is an aura of unattainable elegance and refinement about them, and many share the same clean yet carnal musk.

Miasha

I agree with every word that "supersaiyan" says about this, Poudree and Rouge, as well as For Her Pure Musc. Rouge is my signature: so soft, warm and lovely. But this original white cube would share that signature space for me, if only I was not so afraid to spend the last few drops!! I really love it so much... and, the black cube (edt) is equally wonderful - and of course they discontinued that one too..! I do not understand these people. The newer cubes are just meh, meh. And I also agree on the fact that Poudree caught my attention very much at first, but since I have come to the conclusion, that compared to the other lovely ones, Poudree seems to be a little too sweet and strong. For a powdery variant, I by far prefer Rouge! It is so special.
I also love the For Her Musc Noir, very very much. Not Musc Noir Rose: to me, that one is more generic in comparison.
All of these fantastic fracrances always give me tons of compliments!
So please please, Narciso Rodriguez ; BRING BACK the white cube, and the black - which is similar, but a tiny bit lighter and more crisp!

For anyone lamenting the discontinuation of this one of a kind scent, Arabian Perfume Oil (UK Based) do an excellent oil dupe and I believe Abdul ships worldwide. Divain Parfums make a good spray dupe if that's more your thing - but they are Europe only. APO oils is what I will stick to now this is gone. There just isn't anything out there that smells like this scent.

black_orchid

It’s more beautiful than Narso Rodrigues edt and edp for me. Why it’s discontinued? Don’t care the flankers btw.

Suncica7

Whenever I wore this, and it was during the summer only, ppl would always approach me and take deep breath to inhale me haha, and they would always say ''wow, what is it?!''. Big reactions, big. Few women told me I smelled like million dollars. Men were on the cloud chasing me.
That is all I need from a perfume :D i would not say it is a daily scent, on my skin it is a night out scent.
But that one depends on a person, I keep this and try to save what's left for nights out.

Osarolen

One of the biggest mystery of the universe is why they discontinued this beauty.

ztlxoxo

I received the mini 3 set/travel edition of Narciso as a gift from my partner bc she knows I LOVE the "For Her" EDT & EDP (black bottle & pink bottle and have worn them for years) HOWEVER, these are a hard pass for me. They remind of me of old Chanel No. 5 dated-type perfumes and are surprisingly unlike "For Her". I'm honestly surprised this gets such great reviews, way too powdery and strong. I tried tiny spritzes, I tried walking through it misted, I let it breathe and idk it's unwearable to me.

ggartel

This is my closest thing to an everyday signature scent and I am hoarding backups. That said, I recently did a side by side comparison with Cartier La Panthère and they are like 95-99% identical for those who are looking for a replacement. Beyond me why this was ever discontinued though.

unkind_pear

I love this fragrance omg it is something different. I love it so much, I'm actually leaving my first review on Fragrantica. I only discovered this frag after it was discontinued, which desperately makes me want a time machine, because this fragrance is honestly something special. The scent is intoxicating, to the point that I will just grab the bottle and give it a smell at least 3 times a day. It's fluffy, powdery, light, woody. Just gorgeous. I got a bottle from a discounter site and a rollerball from Sephora, and the rollerball must be fresher because the scent is more makeup-y and cakey, which is just phenomenal. However, the bottles from the discounter (which are like 7 years+ old) still smell incredible. This is going to be my favourite fragrance for the rest of my life!

Miss_pops

Can anyone recommend a good similar fragrance to this they have found? To this day I am so in love with this and have even kept an empty bottle just to smell sometimes 😅

Shay91

Wish I could smell it on someone else to see (smell) what the other reviews are all about, but on my skin it just smells like a fancy soap.

fragileporcelain

I never smelled anything like this i'm in loveee.♡ It's such a gorgeous, creamy, musky perfume. Opening is a bit sharp but after a minute or so it becomes this comforting, milky and elegant scent. On my skin it's so creamy and yummy i genuinely can't stop smelling myself when i wear this.
I'm 20 and thought it could be too mature on me but it's perfect. Personally it makes me feel like a princess. So clean and pure. I definitely wouldn't say it's sexy but it's still sensual. Also on me this doesn't have a masculine touch at all unlike some other reviews i saw. It's just pure beauty.
Since it's discontinued it took me a while to find it so i'm delighted to be able smell it now.
Longevity is above average on my skin.
Sillage is not the best. Overspraying could help.♡♡♡

Jaimedjohnston

This really is a masterpiece. Really. It's absolutely stunning. Creamy white, powdery. It lasts for hours. It's mature and sexy. I can't stop smelling myself when I wear this. It's so addictive. I can't imagine anyone not loving this fragrance. It's one of my favourites.

Kateri81

This was (is) my signature since its release. Once I saw the minimalistic bottle, I just knew that's the one. This is the best perfume ever. I have quite hard time to commit to one thing. This one was an exeption. This is love. White, creamy, dreamy, powdery, angelic, sexy, masculine and very feminine at the same time. Perfect blend of musk, woods and vetiver with drop of gardenia. Just impeccable. It creates pure-like feeling of a naked woman lying in the sparkling snow. I cannot wrap my head around why it was discontinued. Such a pity. So sad.

onebadbaby

I cannot fathom why they have discontinued this masterpiece while keeping the inferior flankers. It is a heavenly, powdery floral, musky, clean smelling, ethereal beauty. Always gets compliments, always gets enquiries as to what fragrance I am wearing, lasts well, can wear anywhere, anytime, just lovely!

gretta

Clean, simple, masculine, pencil shavings.

SophiaViolette

First opening was powdery-earthy, milky-creamy without being lactonic, more like a body lotion. Then settles to white florals and rose on skin.
Some cedar and vetiver enrobed with musk is present, bringing some depth to the floral creaminess.

I didn’t like the initial spray, but that quickly changed after 30mins-1h when the perfume was settled on my skin and worked wonderfully with my body chemistry! There’s just something about the cedar or vetiver that brings something animalistic. The dry-down wasn’t for me, nor what I was expecting upon initial spray, it leaned more masculine suddenly — at least for my taste.

Subtle, safe buy, wearable daily, ideal for winter and cold spring days. Unisex.

What kind of twisted sick mind could even think of dicsontinue this fragrance 😕 I will miss you forever, the magical masterpiece of the cube collection.

RoGo72

I blind bought Narciso because I read several great reviews about it. This was before I had the sense to buy a sample first. It smelled incredibly musky on me. I really couldn’t smell any of the other notes. No gardenia, no white rose, & no cedar which was very disappointing & prompted me to sell it. Great scent if you love musk, but it was too overpowering on me.

lola911

Love this creamy gardenia scent! This smells like someone you wanna hug. I over sprayed this one time and sprayed it too close to my face and that was a mistake, so be careful with this one! Just 1 or 2 sprays is perfect and it will last the whole day! Such a cozy vibe, reminds me of a cashmere sweater.

dyrdkk

Too sad, that this is discontinued. It was a solid fragrance. Perfumes of NR are getting too soft lately. This is gone, and they bring a new sheer one, Crystal. Uff. So I lost my interest. Anyways, Narciso white cube: The smell was unique. Really creamy, floral. It has a masculine touch. Somedays I get more woods and masculine feel, somedays more floral like white pearls and satin. It lasts all day. I dont wear fragrances seasonly, but this is one is too heavy in the summer heat. Luca Turin noted Narciso with 5 stars, so is a masterpiece.
If you love this, you can try Isabey Gardenia.

Carissaochoa

Beautiful fuzzy, creamy, musky winter gardenia. Gardenia is my favorite flower, and also hard for me to find in a fragrance. I’ve found I love a fresh, tropical gardenia, my favorite being a Gardenia lotion from Maui. My 2nd favorite is EL Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. Lush and bright. This seems to suit cooler weather with its sweet, fluffy and soft composition. It’s not stuffy or cloying right now, but could be in warmer weather. It’s not a fresh woody floral. It’s dense, creamy and cozy. Beautiful.

Siv7Stars

On me this goes unisex, the dry down is very softly masculine.

MeditativeRose

Welcome to Musk paradise! Today is the first day of 2023 and it is my SOTD. I bought it last year on Christmas and only opened it today. Since I hear this is discontinued, I am happy that I got a good price for it on a 90 ml bottle. I have to say that this scent is simple and complex in the same vein. It has a luxurious lotion vibe but, I don't mind it. I needed an all occasion scent that would be a no brainer and this fits the bill completely. Well blended and ethereal smelling, I can see everyone loving it. Soft, sensual, creamy, it's the scent of a lady. It was a successful blind buy for me. I did have to reapply every four hours. I am not sure whether my bottle is reformulated though. All in all, I am happy about having started my fragrance journey for 2023 with this scent.

EDIT [1st September '23]: Just a tiny update on the longevity. Now that I have been using my bottle on and off for a good 8 months, I am beginning to get 24 hour longevity with a good number of sprays albeit it being a skin scent for the second half of that time with occasional whiffs here and there. Probably because I let my bottle sit in the dark for a while. :)

AnlisaC

Thank God, I found it on Eba, for a reasonable price!!! Hallelujah!!!!😁

CRiche

The perfect musk ☺️

TinaTsia

The love of my life, my favourite perfume ever… why do you have to be discontinued 😩

tanny_ups

This perfume is a master piece. It smells divine and it’s quite different from the others NR. This projects so much better and it is more musky and sexy. It’s a pity it was discontinued. Great performance as well.

Siv7Stars

I just had a look on their site (I'm also looking from UK) n it's nowhere that I can find.. They have Poudree, Cristal, Ambree, neroli Ambree & Rouge, that's it. The Poudree bottle looks like the old Narciso one I guess.

chimidoro

Since when did this get discontinued? It still shows on the official Narciso Rodriguez site. I only looked it up because I saw some asshat trying to charge nearly £150 for 50ml of it on eBay.
🙄
These people.... 😩
Probably members of Fragrantica.

CallHerAnUber

I found a random full bottle of this in a thrift shop. The perfume house wasn't even on my radar. I had been searching for that perfect combination of floral, woodsy, warm and sophisticated to wear as a signature.

This is it! I'm sad that it's been discontinued, but I am looking for a backup bottle.

The initial spray is way too much for me. It's sharp and overwhelming. It reminds me of a classic Avon perfume my grandmother used to wear. I can't recall the name. Thankfully, this scent calms down quickly and becomes the most comforting powdery floral that is also clean and has a bit of an edge that comes from the cedar and vetiver. I love cedar and vetiver in perfumes but they can read a little bit "barber shop" unless paired with sweet notes. I don't want an overly sweet perfume as my signature.

I doubt I'll be able to wear this in the summer. It will likely be way too much. For now, I'm in love.

PerfumePixie87

Creamy seductive gardenia with milky clean musk and cold woods. Clean yet sensual and intoxicating, all at once. My favourite from Narciso, the undisputed King of musk. This was a huge compliment magnet for me and I wish they would bring it back.

LindaL100

I don't like this fragrance from Narciso, it's too intense and powdery and has more of a classic scent which smells quite unpleasant to me. It's certainly not a fragrance that I would wear personally.

100ml of Sass

Unique yet easy to wear, yet clean, yet sexy - it’s literally perfect
Please oh please bring back this beauty! :(

Selfscentred

Narciso is all powdery, woody softness with a creamy gardenia to match. It’s fluffy, sensual and comforting in the dry down with both musk and cedar in the base. It lasts for almost 10 hours on skin and much longer on fabrics. A completely versatile everyday frag and I really don’t understand why they would discontinue such a beautiful scent. At least I'm glad that I managed to buy a bottle of this, while it was still affordable.

Suncica7

I wore it during the whole spring/summer this year. For the first ever time. I read here almost everyone was against it in the summer, and where I live- Mediterranean climate, is very hot. But it worked so fantastic- sexy, most of all sexy, animalic, creamy, floral are screamy at the beginning but only for few mins, after that creaminess and musc and wood, sweet, very very sweet. Of course- night out. ( Not to work- It gets so hot here , around 40 degrees on regular, that I use NO perfume during the day. Impossible. Makes me throw up. No perfume in this weather.)

Compliments from everywhere. Knock out perfume. In summer.
Now it's winter, and it's 10 degrees already- it is a different perfume- it stays so much longer in that floral screamy opening and when it goes down it isn't sweet enough for the cold weather. It is cold itself in the cold. Can easily be daily scent but knowing its magic in summer, it is such a waste to use it like that. Will just leave it for the summer.

pisces3774

I have a huge range of taste, and I cannot understand the appeal of this. It's sharp, sour, and cold. As a huge fan of the original Narciso For Her edp and edt, I can see a glimpse of DNA in this. However, it's harsh, screechy, and smells like hairspray. I do not get an softness, coziness, woodiness, or musk.

Rozalina

The best of the cubes, for sure. It’s missing that metallic undertone of the others especially the Red cube. I liked Poudree but then the metallic note became unbearable in that one, too. I can’t imagine this offending anyone.

onebadbaby

I cannot understand why this version seems to be discontinued when the flankers are still being made. It is a soft woody, powdery, musky, clean smelling fragrance. It gets so many compliments and is universally liked by everyone who smells it on me. It definitely has the distinctive Rodriguez DNA which runs through the whole line, but to me this was the best one. Beautiful, simple bottle and fragrance, it was a classic and cold have easily stood the test of time given half the chance.

supersaiyan

Woody, powdery, sweet, soft, feminine. I like this one behind NR Rouge (all-time fave!) and Pure Musc, really easily wearable in the fall and winter, even into early spring. A delight to me, not too sweet or floral, but full of clean non-laundry, non-baby-type musk. This is a warm cuddle in a bottle.

The Poudree version, which I guess is popular, is a sweeter and more synthetic take on the original NR white cube if you are looking for the differences. The Poudree captures your attention more at first, but becomes cloying, therefore I prefer the original NR!

PolishRose

I had this. For about five minutes. Luca Turin likes it. I wanted to like it. I thought I liked it. Powdery. Tick. Woody. Tick. Feminine.... Oh, but I find true feminines so hard to wear! It's not vile. It's very pretty in fact, all persian kittens with a pink taffeta bow. I think you have to be blonde to pull this one off and me, I am not.

Amoperfumes783

I cannot believe I’ve fallen hard in love with this perfume, if rumors are true and this gets discontinued I will be very sad, I don’t like buying back ups but I think I may have to make an exception.

This is the perfect clean girl (in my case woman) perfume, you know what? This would be a good option for the Coastal Grandma style as well.

I’ve been trying a bunch of Niche perfumes lately and some are hits, some are fails but at the end of the day I appreciate simple beautiful perfumes such as this one way more, very classic fragrances that make me feel clean and pretty. Easy reach, not offensive, no need to overspray, 1-2 sprays and you are set for the whole day.

I can see why younger people might not enjoy this one, I think this is suitable for someone more mature. Perfect for cold weather, very clean, safe for office.

PerfumeAddict30

This perfume reminds me of Exclamation perfume by Coty aswell as both Jovan White musk and Musk Tahara by Swiss Arabian. Both Exclamation and Jovan Musk was one of my signature scent when I was a teen. I was really not into the typical sweet perfume that everybody in my High School such as Victoria Secret and celebrity perfume. I was more into Estee Lauder and Lamcome and Jovan Musk. I did gotten a lot of compliments from my co-workers and my costumers.
This is musky creamy and laconic type of creaminess. It is also powdery. Super long lasting and very pure smelling. Great for wedding scent. This replace my Jovan Musk for now even though this bottle is discontinue. This is an expensive dupe for Jovan Musk white. Very lovely.

I have a full 90ml bottle, manufactury sealed if anyone is interested...

churinl

Has this really been discontinued???? Sigh. I find that I'm spending quite a bit of my perfume "budget" on back up bottles of fragrances I love. I guess this will be yet another one. I think it is incredibly beautiful and a most unusual approach to gardenia, at least on my skin.

soso.sofia

A truly beautiful creamy white floral with a warm comforting feel and the slightest tinge of rose. I once tried to grow gardenias and failed, but Narciso is exactly how I'd imagine one hundred gardenias should gloriously smell like. I've received many compliments while wearing Narciso, especially from friends who appreciate good perfumes. I'm on my second bottle of Narciso, and even though I consider this perfume great for all weather types, except maybe during a heatwave, I find I enjoy it the most on a cooler spring day. Sillage and longevity are fantastic on myself, and considering my skin usually makes fragrances disappear quickly, I guess it means it's performance is truly top notch.

I've read all reviews that state this is being discontinued? Oh gosh I hope not!

kittywhiskers

I truly have a love/hate relationship with this fragrance. Possibly because I attempted to wear it in the summer heat one year, and it just made me feel so nauseous - this scent is way too heavy for warm weather. The first time I ever smelled it, I sprayed it on my wrist at Sephora in the dead middle of winter. After leaving the store and walking around downtown in the cool, dry air, I couldn't stop myself from sniffing my wrist every thirty seconds, craving more and more of this musky, white floral scent.

After telling myself time and time again that I really do not need another full-size bottle of perfume, I ended up buying the gift set online, which came with shower gel, body lotion and a 90ml bottle. Back in 2017, I used this nearly every day from January to May, which is around the time I met my boyfriend, so this scent definitely brings up some good memories of our early days. It was June of that year that I mistakenly, stupidly, wore it when it was hot and humid out, and from then on I could barely get a whiff of it without getting a headache, for the past 4 years.

Fast forward to today, when I decided to give her another try, as it's a cold, rainy day and I'm stuck in bed with gastro, can't get any sicker so might as well give her another try! She meant so much to me! Lo and behold, she has found her way back into my current rotation. This fragrance is mostly linear to me, there is nothing too complex about it, but sometimes simplicity can be a great thing. Upon first spray, I do get the perfect blend of gardenia and rose. There's a cloud of powder enveloping them too. They continue to linger in the background as musk and cedar come into play moments later, and I feel as though I'm in a dense forest with those flowers at my feet. I just close my eyes and drift into a creamy, woody paradise. The powder stays for the whole show.

One spray is all you need for this one to last all day. Any more than 2 sprays could be headache inducing. It's a good everyday perfume, suitable for the office if you spray lightly. The sillage is impeccable; I've gotten compliments on it from people standing 12 ft away. So disappointed to find out this has been discontinued, because it seems to be so popular. I'll be using it sparingly, and can't wait to try other Narciso perfumes.

victoria.mei1992

Don't understand why it got discontinued. It was my most favorite everyday perfume.

Jajally

I have smelled it once when I was younger and love it since then but as a student I couldn’t afford it yet. Now I have enough money to buy it but it’s already discontinued 🥲 luckily I can still find a sample of it.
Narciso smells like a cold wood with roses. First it might be powdery but in a few minutes it turns to be musky with rose. Dont know why but when it drys down I kinda smell coco chanel?
I love love this. Although it might not be suitable for hot and humid weather but for rainy season and others it would go well.
Btw I can see that why some people dont like it. It’s a scent that you’d either hate or love. Especially with that musky tone

iseestars84

This is one of my all time favourite scents. I wore it on my wedding day in Sorrento and to say goodbye to my grandfather as he slipped away in hospital, as I thought he may be able to smell it and remember that happy day. It is a perfume that commands attention - and gives the wearer confidence, strength and grace.

It is pure, feminine, comforting, sensual and head turning. It has amazing longevity and sillage. Whenever I wear it, people ask me what is that amazing smell. It is complex, fresh with the white florals in the opening and deeply comforting with the musk and woody notes in the dry down - like snuggling up in a cashmere blanket with a good book on an autumn day.

The newer Narcisco scents (Poudrée, Rouge and for her) capture elements of this - but not the whole. This perfume is for making memories, for new beginnings and goodbyes.

BARUNIN

When I first smelled it, I found it attractive.
I wanted it, it screamed at me, you want me.
I had a feeling I can't live without it.
I got it, and a whole different story started.

It's intense, heavy, and intoxicating.
I feel heaviness sitting on top of me, I feel almost dizzy and I don't know if I can breathe again.
It's heavy, it drenches the air everywhere, it takes my energy away and I feel like it will never go away.
I didn't like it, so we said goodbye to each other.

(The scent gets a lot of attention from men, they like it and ask about it.
They find it sensual, confident, intense, and alluring.
Powdery, warm, sensual, woody, and very feminine.
Femme fatale in the bottle.
That's how I would describe it.
Give her a chance.)

Invisibeau

On my friend, this smelled elegant and feminine. On me, it's very powdery and headache inducing white floral. Smells like baby powder mixed with old lipsticks.

cadentsun

Oh wow, this is great. Gave it an educational try-on in a sleepy duty-free, knowing the line has been scarcely stocked and set for potential reformulation/discontinuation. Liked it so much that I bought a FB anyway, impending heartbreak be damned.

Narciso smells like an older fragranced designer lipstick I've had (Dior Rouge, unsure if it was literally gardenia scented) with a cool, barely sweet creaminess in the vein of fior di latte gelato or Hokkaido-style milk soft-serve. The cedar notes are so gentle, too. Each note is blurred and blended by musk in a really great way that prevents them from being read as generic. It wears on the stronger side, being slightly powdery and indolic, which some will interpret as either classic or matronly. It's just right to my nose, and on track to be a go-to comfort perfume for quiet cold days.

ggartel

This fragrance is best described as fluffy. It almost smells like “nothing” - I don’t get any notes individually, and I can’t identify what it would smell like. It is a fresh, blank page. It is a field of crisp new-fallen snow. The bottle matches the juice perfectly. It’s not one of those scents like Glossier You or Molecule 01 where it’s a “non-perfume” or “your skin but better” - it simply smells like a blank space. I am not sure if it’s a love or a very strong like, but it’s safe to say it is an easy reach and can be used in basically any situation. Unfortunately as with many amazing scents, it seems to have been caught up in the EU’s great purge of “dangerous” aromachemicals. Let us hope that Narciso Rodriguez is able to figure out a way to recreate this magic using different ingredients.

Asoss

This year is really hard for me. First they discontinue Florabotanica and now this beauty...
This is classy fresh musky perfume and i use it daily in spring. It is so versatile. I have fairly full 150ml bottle, and i hope Narciso Rodriguez makes sure the reformulation won't disappoint. I LOVE this perfume.

TeachOlfactoryArt

@90sbabe, I think you’re right about Butylphenyl Methylpropional, also known as Lilial. The idiots in one of the EU’s multiple regulatory bodies banned it, effective March 2022. Lush has a piece about it on their website. Luckily my 100ml backup bottle of Narciso has it listed.

The reformulation will lose something special.

As it is now, Narciso smells like an abstract, woody-yet-soft, creamy, radiant musky floral. The gardenia, too, is abstract: less like a heady white flower and more like a fluffy white floral-musky cloud with smoothe cedar dust. Gorgeous!

msmoleskin

opens with pristine gardenia soap, evolves into an ice-cold, barely sweetened egg milkshake, dries down as immaculate white noise. Narciso Rodriguez created a masterpiece of white and beige, and i mean that in the best possible way. this is soft, fluffy, creamy comfort in a bottle. if you wake up in the night and catch this on your pillow, you will roll over with a smile on your face. didn’t think they could outdo For Her, which i love, but yeah. this is better.

THEDISH

I decided to wear this today after not wearing it for close to a year ( I have owned it for about 3 years). It is even lovelier than I remember it, so I jumped on here to leave a review and read that IT HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED. WHAT???WHY??? Now I am saddened and a bit panicked because I have no idea how much of this intoxicating potion I have left due to the opaque bottle, and I certainly want to always have it in my life. I have read other comments about wearing this in only cooler weather, but it is mid-July and I LOVE how it is warming up on my skin; dusty, woody, creaminess that surrounds and envelopes me. It is divine! (I am not a big gardenia fan but in here it is blended so well). I hope I am never without it.

bibliotecaderecuerdos

A gift from my mother that has grown to become my absolute favorite fragrance.
On my skin the gardenia is milky, soft and sensual. The rose is subdued and has depth - it does not smell like your grandmother's bathroom. Decent performance... it's strong but not headache-inducing (a rarity).
Something you'd wear before bed with a partner or cozying up with a book.
Better than "For Her" (in my opinion). And of course, the thoughtfully designed bottle is always a plus

Lcprickett

This one had to grow on me but there’s just something about it and that’s why it’s so loved. It has a hint of masculinity to it but I wouldn’t call it a unisex fragrance personally. That being said, the thought I had upon first spray was that it smelled like my grandfather. Very classy and easy to wear but can come across a bit mature/dusty. It is STRONG so spray with caution. I wear this one in every season but summer.

gardeniavanilla

i was working in a store when this came out and I found the reactions to it were very polarized - people either love it or hate it. it's definitely for women around their forties, though. it makes a statement, but a very classy one. it's creamy and not overbearing, but I understand that it may be too strong for some.
it's made for a simple yet classy and powerful woman who doesn't need to fuss to pull attention to herself.
i love it and i wish it would still be around when I'm older, because in my twenties, it's too out of place. i still have some samples and wear it on occasion, especially in the winter, and my friends will go "why do you smell like an old lady again?" which is understandable hahah

TeachOlfactoryArt

It has taken me a year but I have fallen fully in love with this fragrance. At first I thought it was a bit too synthetic or screechy. Then I realized that was just the first 5 seconds. Then I thought it would smell musty on me kind of like a cross between laundry done in an ancient machine and the steamy smell of the room. But I realized that is a beautiful musk. Far from being fusty or “old” (and who cares?), this is a classical fragrance that develops and radiates over time without being overly complicated. The result to my nose is a powdery creamy wood, suffused with a gentle but still-delicious gardenia, wrapped in plush clean-yet-dirty musks and a Mimosa-like green powder. White floral, green powder, creamy wood. It’s gorgeous and a technically flawless (to my nose) BIG sculptured yet easy to love, fragrance.

Call me crazy, but this could pass as a slightly “fresh” yet dirty fougere-like scent you’d find in a gentleman’s barbershop. Creamy woody-sweet-floral-powder dusting and foaming and cleansing on handsome, genteel-but-not dandified, sweaty men.

I never wanna run out of this perfume. it's sooooo underrated, in my opinion the most Narciso of all Narciso perfumes I've tried. it smells so classy, sharp, crisp, and sweet at the same time. definitely a confident booster. However, it's not for everyone. i have received compliments when i wear it but some people don't like it when they try it on themselves.
Oh.. it performs really well good longevity, beast projection in the first few hours.

tebyki

I heard it smells good, so I bought it online, completely blind. At first this was too strong too florally to me, then i put it on shelf for weeks, prolly just because i was a big fans of citrus note tho.
I was about to abandon it but i gave it one more chance, and now I love it so much. The musk and cedar after notes are amazing!!!!! And it's super long lasting and the perfect smell stay in the room even if i have already left (my friend told me that). I don't know what to replace it now as it is discontinued.

Tina905

This is beautiful. A sweeter younger sister of Gris Dior by Christian Dior. Absolutely love it!

Kanutten

2nd review. Another 180 turn..
I've always liked this on others, but found it too overpowering to wear myself. It was so strong, it felt like it followed me around the whole day. With such a strong projection, I wondered what would happen if I'd wear it for several days. I've gone noseblind to strong perfumes before, so let's see. First day, one spray - too strong and dusty central. Second day - still too strong and dusty. 3rd day ok. Probably on the 4th day we clicked: It became a clean, white, fluffy cloud of soft gardenia. This was kind of like a "celebrity crush" - beautiful at a distance, but up close it was just too much and didn't quite live up to the expectations. But when we really got to know each other, I fell in love ...after all.

It feels clean withouht being fresh. A great comfort scent, long lasting too. The drydown is fantastic, soft and creamy. Now that I've gotten used to it, I suddenly have to take care not to overspray,.. who would have thought? I've been wearing this scent non stop lately and will appreciate my little white cube to the last drop.
- The end.

luluxielle

This is a blind purchase and now I just found out that it has been discontinued!

I really really love the opening scent of this perfume is sooo heavenly and addictive! It's so feminine, soft, creamy and clean. Ingredients are so simple yet so skilfully blended, I am so in love! If you can still find a bottle at your nearest store go grab it!

This is a rare must-have.

FrkFors

Bring this back!!! 🤍

Sanrio

While this is not my style and definitely not my favorite perfume in the world, I can't believe they would discontinue this.

This is an incredibly unique creamy musk with crisp gardenia. I swear it almost has some chypre nuances in the dry down as well. I swear this was one of their best sellers as well. Absolute mystery that they would get rid of this great fragrance.

princesslopez4890

I live in Ny and pre pandemic I’d go downtown once in a while, I definitely remember smelling this on the train. This right here is everything, deserves all the praise, now I understand all the hype and it’s well deserved. Upon first impressions it’s very milky but after about 10 minutes it transitions in to this beautiful musk. Although it’s very well blended, I smell all the notes. I just received Burberry London and omg, match made in fragrance heaven!

Violinplayah

Without smelling them side by side, this reminds me of Dusita Pavilion d’Or with wet powder on top. I love it! Clean, comfortable, sophisticated, original, ageless. So glad I got it before it’s gone!

Perfumepusher

How dare they discontinue this well-loved perfume? I’m sooo so tired of these houses discontinuing our favorites (Dior 😡)
Get it if you can, it’s the creamiest woodiest muskiest gardenia princess and she will be missed.

Kiti89

Whyyy is this discontinued?!

lexjbr98

I really love this one, it’s unique but also extremely simple. On me it smells clean I don’t really get any note over the other, I can’t really explain it. I imagine a pretty girl wearing a white dress in the spring hanging her clean laundry. That’s it: the smell of ~that~ girls laundry; clean, happy, mysterious, creative, alluring. All the things I want to smell like! Honestly, I have tested the other Narciso cubes, and while I can see why other people like them I don’t really love any of them other than this one. I own the For Her EDT, that one is a lot more floral and punchy, this one is more milky smooth, not offensive at all. I also liked Pure Musc, it kind of reminds me of this cube, except this one is a bit more complex and sophisticated imo!

pweedyadel

Narciso Rodriguez is the only musky fragrance I do not really care for but after sometime, this grew on me a little. I appreciate why it gets massive love from the frag society. It’s powdery, musky and creamy. Prominent notes are musk, gardenia and cedar. Perfect for the office and/or lunch date with the girls.

DJoy27

This is my 3rd review and I deleted my other two. I would love anyone to PM about this—I only smell cedar and powder in this. Nothing else. Those only get stronger as I wear it. I don’t hate it but I really want to understand what everyone else is experiencing because I know it must be just lovely! I have For Her EDT and love it…My husband smells something totally different though from this white cube because he loves how it smells-it’s his favorite fragrance that I own. Because of that I’m keeping it.
Here’s my question-is there another one in the NR line (the short cubes) that is softer on the cedar wood and/or has more florals or creaminess in addition to the woodiness? I’m thinking of the Narciso Edt (black cube with translucent top) based on reviews. I would love your suggestions though(: thank you!

firstmate423

I really like this. I can pick up on the rose note, and I am not a lover of rose notes. However, this works and it is a lovely fragrance. I don’t get the masculine vibe I’ve been reading. To me, it is a very feminine leaning fragrance.

ParisLoveXo

Yuck sorry not sorry . Way to woody smells masculine to me . And I love gardenia and I get no gardenia . No thank you

Gi5elle.C

No other NR scent comes close to this one. I managed to go through 2 bottles before it was discontinued. Haven’t found anything remotely resembling this scent ever since. I was able to get a travel spray decant from Surrender to Chance and am so happy to be reunited with this beauty! I layer it with Mugler Angel Nova in cooler weather…it’s a total smokeshow!

lid-555

Powdery, sexy, confident. Do not over spray this one! It is very long lasting and strong so two light sprays is more than enough. I think this is very creamy and musky and expensive smelling. Something you'd imagine your boss would wear. Not mature but sophisticated and if worn correctly can be someone's signature scent for all occasions.

SmellsJustLike

I really wanted to love this… it’s chic and elegant and I love how it “sits” on other people.
Unfortunately for me i found it thick and cloying. Actually headache inducing! Really creamy and woodsy but just can’t explain it feels heavy on my skin. Makes me feel unclean. I adore it on other people though!

islandgirlmaranda

Ooooh, I totally get it now. The reviews. They make sense! I got a roller of this and have given it a couple hours and here's what it is to me. This reminds me of that really beautiful girl with no makeup, she's effortlessly and simply pretty without trying, she's wearing all neutral colors, and she's sipping a latte outside of the bookstore in a hip town with an arts district. This scent is cozy, neutral, beige in color, and soft like a hug. This is for laid back days, not a little black dress. Also, this is best smelled in "whiffs", don't stick your nose right to the skin, it's a little too much cedar that way. But from a cloud...it's glorious!
Now! It also leans masculine and sexy! I could see a man wearing this easily! He's extremely handsome and likes to give big bear hugs, he's kinda the lumber jack (lumbersnack!) type, wearing flannel and has a big thick beard. He likes Asheville NC and hikes the mountain trails, you'd never see him as a city slicker. And did I say he's hot AF? Overall, very sexy, very comforting scent! For adults 30+ I'd say. Don't blind buy a big bottle. Sample or travel sized first! I'm interested in the Poudree version as well, I've read it's more feminine. Just ordered 2 samples! I'll post a comparison after arrival!

Update: I like this one waaaay better than the Poudree. That one reminds me of the perfume my great grandmother used to wear! It reminds me 100% of her! But for me I don't want that scent. The original is for me!

MimesOtto

LOVE this and all creations from NR house as a musk lover, it is clean powdery musk floral with soft woody dry down! It feels so classy, simple and yet stunning like a fine white cashmere sweater!

Kateri81

This is my signature since its release. I am on my 8th bottle, and I have another two as back up. This is love, this is me. Musk and gardenia create this creamy vibe and the base full of vetiver - I love vetiver - and cedar is so damn sexy! This is confidence, this is mystery, this is calm, this is storm, this is a perfection.

Kristen_Marie183

Lots of musks I can't do because the end up too soapy smelling. The gardenia saves this from being too clean/soapy of a musk for me. There is a little bit of that indole in it that sort of dirties this up in a sensual classy way. It's got a soft creamy texture but the scent can be a beast if you over spray and I can see where this would be headache inducing in that way. The base notes are distinctive and slightly sharp, especially if you are sensitive to woody notes or dry herbal notes. Classy and chic.

Katie <3

I much prefer this to NRFH. It is a creamy, milky musk, woody and classy.

Chellywellie

From written and YouTube reviews I was convinced this would be the Narciso for me, but it didn’t live up to the hype. It’s a less sweet and less dry version of Poudree. A powdery, clean, linear perfume. If I smelled this on someone I’d think it was nice but wouldn’t ask what they were wearing.
I was expecting something more interesting but had a built up expectation (which never goes well!) and was disappointed. I need to stop reading so many reviews!

takema

This beauty is one of my favourite fragrances. It is a beautifully simple smelling fragrance. Narciso Rodriques know what they are doing with musks, especially clean musks. Narciso is a beautiful, clean, musky, powdery scent. The florals are smooth and creamy. The musk is soft and fluffy and the woods contribute a soft bite. It's a fairly mature and feminine fragrance. I'm not sure a lot of very young women will find this appealing. I see it attracting the 30+ crowd. I've worn it in all seasons, but not on a very hot, humid summer day. I'm nervous to try it in high heat, but a warm summer day it smells lovely.

Narciso has amazing performance. it lasts all day, 12+ hours. The scent floats around me all day and leaves a beautiful sillage. The projection is quite good, a couple of meters. I find I only need 2-4 sprays for great performance. partly because the atomiser is on the generous side and dispenses the juice in a wide fine mist.

The only fragrance that I have tried that smells similar to Narciso (other than it's flankers) is Cartier La Panthere. Panthere has a lot more sweetness and is less clean (more animalic). The drydown is where they are most similar to me. I have the EDP flankers of Narciso and really enjoy them all, especially Poudree, I think I love it just as much.
I love the classy simplicity of the bottle. It suits the fragrance perfectly.

LOST_HORIZON

Narciso edp is my favorite creamy musk and my favorite Narciso R. It is strange because musk is not usually my cup of tea but in this fragrance the creaminess is a lust that mixes with gardenia and woods creating a very powerful perfume that has a lot of personality.

I do not advise buying it without trying it before, it is so unique and of character ...

I feel hyper feminine when I use it, with Narciso edp I like to make up a little naturally with light brown lips and only black eyelashes ... white t-shirt and jeans... Simplicity but desire to feel sexy.

honeyandbranch

I bought Poudree first and loved it, and I was anxiously awaiting this one after so many amazing reviews. I bought it blind, and it didn't end up working for me, and here's why.

It is a very unique fragrance. I agree with other reviewers that it has a fluffiness to it; I wouldn't describe it as clean though. The initial blast has some gardenia, but it moves immediately into the musk and cedar, with a powdery background note. Ultimately, the wood and musk are much stronger on me than the powder and floral notes. I enjoy all of those notes in other perfumes, but somehow they dominate so much here that it becomes masculine.

It is sophisticated, and to me it's warm, not cold as others have described. It may be absolutely amazing on someone else, but for me it's much too woody and musky without enough of the softer notes to balance it out. I wouldn't recommend this as a blind buy.

Niiskuneiti

Not for me. I sprayed it once on my wrist at the store and it lasted there FOREVER!!!!!
In theory it seems like a perfume I would like: musky and floral. I want to like it. However, I do not. It is just too strong and intense and smells like a bad lotion.
Caused a headache

nauditaolivia

Sometimes I feel too masculine when I wear this but it's a lovely scent. It's very creamy and musky, lasts pretty long.

Tormentor94

Am I the only one that smells Gris Dior in this?? It smells like patchouli and rose in my opinion :/ maybe it’s my skin? Yeah it’s definitely like a softer sweeter version of Gris Dior

Hamano_Chiaki

This is my ultimate favourite fragrance along with Chanel no 5 edt and I never want to be without it. I just purchased a large back up since I've noticed that it's getting harder and harder to find... Maybe it's been discontinued?

Interestingly, when I first tried this I hated it. I think the tester bottle must have been spoiled as the second time I tried it i fell in love. To me it smells creamy, musky and floral - like an expensive lotion. Sometimes I hate musk, and I don't really enjoy the dark musk in the original For Her, but here I just love it. It's both clean and warm, suitable for every season and occasion and it never fails to make me feel sophisticated and lady like. Yet it's not boring at all.

angelina.hz

It’s very cold fragrance. Feels like a cold shoulder to me for some reason. Imagine going to a peninsula hotel in nyc, you go to the bathroom to wash your hands. This woman with dark hair wearing a white crop fur coat is washing her hands with an emotionless face. She looks like she’s not interested in anything including herself. That’s the vibe I get. Nothing sophisticated about this fragrance and too cold for my taste.

ArrrDee

Musky, smooth gardenia coupled with rose. This isn't overly sweet. Leaves behind a beautiful trail. If you don't like musky perfumes, you'll want to pass on this.

Kanutten

This is such a well made perfume. Creamy, fluffy and clean. I should love this, but I just don't.
It's like that handsome, nice, funny, ambitious, perfect on paper man who is also into you, someone you recognise is a really great catch - but that you just don't like.

Too strong, too much vetiver, too musky. Tried to give it away last year, ...and got it back this Christmas. On the fence whether I should sell or give it one last chance. I have changed my mind on so many perfumes before, so ...we'll see. If not - then it will be sold.

I do see why other people praise this. It smells great, but I just don't want to smell it on me.
Unisex. Nuclear strenght and projection, long lasting.

cemrelo

If someone had made me smell it and said it was a nish perfume, I would have believed it without question. A slightly animalic creamy musk added to a smooth gardenia. longevity is enormous. I really love to wear it with thick sweaters on cold winter days. genderless but sexy. The best in cubes. If there was a perfume event and the rule was to wear designer perfume. I would definitely go with him. maybe a little mature. it will always be with me.

Baphilip

I tried to love it but always gave me headache. So i gave up. Not sure if it will be a safe blind buy, for me it didn't work.

ziiish

This perfume has a great woody scent profile and it's versatile in layering. It smells great on other people, but you might not like it on yourself. It is pretty unique, and unisex in my opinion.

Lamiawitipo

This is not just a perfume, this is an olfactory masterpiece. Period

Liljekonvall

LOVE THIS ONE!🥰

Eternity Girl

The perfect perfume. The scent of heaven ♡♡♡♡♡

ScentedPlaza

Mega powdery, dense, bitter, mature white rose. I imagine, this is how the color white smells. This scent makes a statement, it's very in your face, so do not blind buy if you do not like powdery or dusty makeup scents. On my skin it's too screetchy. I prefer the Amber and Poudree versions. Snow compliments this perfume so well, great for winter resorts!

Petrichor31

This is my most complimented fragrance. Compliments from family, friends & random strangers at the park. To me this is a soft, clean, creamy musk with a deep woody base
It projects beautifully in cool humidity. Longevity is 6- 8 hrs with the last few hours spent as a skin scent that makes others hug me a little longer. This one is special to me & probably as close to a signature fragrance as I have found.

ilayda

This scent is ok. Its a very strong initial spray punches you in the face with a musky white floral with woody cedar notes. The dry down if very aromatic and powdery and the gardenia and vetiver stand out. Im ok with this scent but I dont love it, its ok, I like it butI barely wear it, theres better scents out there. Its a little strong for my liking.

stardenise16

It’s too sharp and potent in the opening but the dry down isn’t that bad, I prefer the Poudre one.

ingeneuxo

*Updated review for a 2016 batch*
-So I found a 90ml bottle for dirt cheap and purchased it, after vaguely recalling liking it when I last tested it 10 months back.
-Note to self: Avoid buying based on memory. Scent preferences evolve with time, seasons, and mood.

-I wore it once the day I received it. And never again since.
-It's pretty for the first 2-3 hours or so. Feminine, floral. Clean. Classy.

-But hear me out. It all goes downhill from there.
-This is a literal scrubber. I couldn't wait to get home, toss my entire outfit in the washer and scrub this all off in the shower. ..is how much it repulsed me.
-I dislike the cedar in this.
-Makes the dry-down too sour... reminiscent of cheap hairspray.
-Definitely try before you buy. Hands down, Narciso's flanker- Narciso Poudree (pink cube) is a much safer blind buy. I bought Poudree on a whim (without ever smelling it) and ended up loving it.
-P.S the juice is amber in colour. If you wear a lot of whites, I'd steer clear of this. (-)

*Update*
-Sold my full bottle to a friend.

SniffingAddict

Hm. So, I love, love, love this scent. I wouldn’t say it’s a sexy scent and I don’t pick up any Vetiver.

For me, it starts out fairly similar to Narciso for Her EDT, but less nail-polish / Iris or violet note.

After it dries down, it’s got a sweet warm vibe over the musky base. It doesn’t have a vanilla note, but my mind translates this into the vanilla scent of my dreams bc it’s sugary sweet without being cloying and it’s warm yet clean.

iluvminecraft69

i regret blind buying this bc everyone said its so beautiful, likeable, crowd pleasing, compliment-getter, bla bla and plus it was on sale too! im such a bad impulse buyer.
i can see how its all those things but i genuinely did NAWT like it. its not my taste at all.

first day i wore it, it gave me a MASSIVE headache i wanted to cry. the rose is just too strong! at least to my nose it was. and mind you, i HATE rose or anything too floral - so it was really my own fault for blind buying this without looking at the notes. lorddd. the only time i can stand floral perfumes is when theres a vanilla and creamy note.
second day i wore it though, it wasn't that bad anymore. but i really need to layer this with vanilla - or just something to take my mind off the insane rose smell. i really wish they'd that in this, smh. just my personal taste anyways! not bad by any means, but im pretty sure i've also smelt this perfume on a girl i hated before, so that's that.

evarosa

This is my favourite of the Narciso Rodriguez fragrances. Lovely creamy humid white floral notes combined with a woody base. There is also plenty of musk in the formula and it doesn't bother me, I'm quite sensitive to musks. However it does not go into that laundry detergent clean smelling mode thanks to the woods and vetiver that bring an almost sour nuance to the dry down.
I think it may be discontinued?

camelliagrower1

I bought this after a little research. I felt like it was feminine and a treat to wear. One of the old ladies in my knit group said she smelled camphor. She got up, walked to the doorway, and said the camphor smell is all right here. I did not say anything. Everybody must have known she meant me. So she really ruined the fragrance for me. Now I keep I try to have an awareness of synthethic notes are anything anybody could criticize. Kudos to her for still having a sense of smell and taking the effort to get up and walk to the door to embarrass me. Last week she had a hip replacement. So it must have given her some pain to get up and do that. Unfortunately or fortunately for me, I just like a lot of fragrances.

ballerina77

honestly? this is an experience. far, far, far away from the type that pleases everyone. I would say it is a sophisticated perfume, for the not eager and hard to please woman. I think it stands aside from the sensual line (for her), to me it feels clean. something professional and serious, my everyday perfume. Makes me boss the f* up.

stays on my clothes and my hair (it spreads everywhere, I can smell it) all day, and I get this mixed feeling of cleanliness and comfort every time I can identify its notes.

I don't know other fragrances that smell like this one, to me it is unique. but I think it somehow reminds me of freeshops at the international departures gates, which is a very loving memory, since I love traveling. Maybe I smelled it on one of my trips. Evokes good memories.

Anyway, if you're a fan of the different types, not sweet, not sensuous, not girly, not fruity...this is a nice try. A remarkable woman's scent.

chelseamurdock

This is such a clean, creamy, and elegant musk. It’s the perfect second skin scent, but even though it’s understated it still manages to last a long time on my skin and project beautifully.

It also smells like a soft, freshly cleaned sweater to me, and for that reason I love spraying this fragrance on my clothing. I get compliments every single time I wear this fragrance.

Klio

I really like everything about this perfume except the fact that I can't wear it....it smells like Ariel (washing detergent) on me

Mademoisellejaimie

This is the epitome of classy and feminine. This is so sexy but in an understated and elegant way. Musky, powdery, sweet but not cloying. It's also incredibly versatile. Whether it's at the office or a black tie event, it never feels out of place. I get so many compliments when I wear this. Specifically from men. My driving instructor told me I smelled delectable. I'm 28 and I think I pull this off quite well. If you're younger than 25, it might be a bit mature for you. It lasts all day on my clothes, and becomes mostly a skin scent around the 5 hour mark. Love it!

Spearmilq

Like vintage powder scent in the better way. it’s powdery with something aromatic and spicy.

For me it’s a safe scent to wear. I usually wearing this when wfh or easy out going.

Feel cozy when use.

sweetcheex

I was so excited for this. It wasn’t what I was expecting. I’m being completely honest and not exaggerating, it reminds me of the skin of an old lady. Old, like 80. I wish it was a bit brighter and less powdery.

Edit: why are noses so weird? I actually really like this. Grew on me throughout the day. I enjoy the rose I get on the first spray so I like it on my clothes so the upper notes stay put longer. Super duper easy to wear, somewhat sophisticated, versatile, could be considered sexy.

JessVanEgg

This is a very musky and woody feminine fragrance. There is some white floral notes from the gardenia and there is some vetiver. it is a somehow comforting fragrance. It is slightly powdery and warm.

The performance is also pretty good. It lasts for a good 6 hours and it leaves a moderate trail. The price is pretty okay too.

8/10. It is woody, musky, and warm. The only way it could be better is if it was a little cheaper.

Ziggy11

Super unrated. This perfume is so beautiful. I am a massive fan of Narciso Rodriguez, could easily say it is one of my favourite designer perfume houses.

It is the house when you think of musk and I personally think they do musk so well.

This perfume is a soft, musk feminine scent. Powdery but not overly, it has a slight sharpness to it which gives it that edge. The dry down is just gorgeous.

For me this last all day and fills the room, this is probably the perfume that I get the most compliments from and most people say I smell “amazing ” and “ beautiful” when I wear this.

I do love dark, sultry and loud scents however this is perfect when you are not feeling so daring and want something comforting, soft and feminine.

I recommend trying this out if you love musk

miameytal

my review is similar to the ones below. i traded narciso for her edt for this because this seemed longer lasting, and the initial smell seemed pleasant, but after bringing it home and smelling it more, i got major headaches, and i hate to say it but i started to actually feel nauseous and wanted to puke....i know... someitmes it smells just a little off.i always want to enjoy all of my perfumes, and I'll keep trying to smell this one, if my feelings change, i'll update.

brokesta911

Narciso Narciso (2014) - woody gardenia - I am probably classifying @aurelienguichard ‘s creation as a simple woody floral, but it’s not. It starts with a normal floral soapy accord, powder and vanilla. Then, I get animalic musks, sunblock and gardenia on a sturdy base of cedar and vetiver. Such a well-built perfume with lots of thought and intention! This fragrance is so creamy and smooth that it’s transitions remind me of a white silk pajama cozying up in bed.

aNYCe23

Male's POV/Opinion - Omgoodness!.... A head-turner? Absolutely Mr. Rodriguez... Just screams sex appeal....... I remember the 1st time my lady wore this; everlasting memory of an epic night.

MissAnnette

I have the same experience with @Smonalisa down below. Sometimes I get creamy gardenia, sometimes sour woody. Also, when I stick my nose to my wrist I am hit with familiar smell of moth balls. It sounded bad, but I actually like it. Imagine yourself spilling a tin of powder on your cedar wood cabinet where you also store dried petal sachet to mask the scent of mothballs on your clothes. This actually smell better when you catch whiffs of it rather than sticking your nose to where you sprayed it. It’s sharp and screechy when your nose got close to it. I feel like it burned the hair on my nose.

Tested from carded sample vial

fyetan

A rosey musk, in a good way, and only so you can describe it. I wouldn't have actually thought it was rose until I read the notes, it's blended very well. Narciso just does excellent musks! Even though I don't own any of the bottles I enjoyed the black For Her, and this immediately reminded of me it, but Narciso is a touch woodier.

I can smell a lot of vetiver upon first spray. Compared to Poudree (much sweeter and powdery), this one is almost unisex.

If I were into musks I would probably have the whole line!

Bouquet Bleu

It seems that I have crush on Monsieur Guichard's nose. Narciso is a middle point between Her EDT (black bottle) and NR Her L'absolu (discontinued purple bottle), but colder, sharper and woodier than L'absolu, the latter is sweeter and creamier because of tuberose. If you don't mind missing the sweetness you can go for this one in case you miss the discontinued L'absolu in the purple bottle.

aqua76239

The notes sound pretty good but i don't smell anything except for musk and woods which translates(to my nose), to the smell of Ivory soap. And I HATE smell of Ivory. Its a clean musky scent that lays close to the skin. There are not many scents that I can't tolerate but this is one of them. it was a gift and I am really sad I can't wear it. I love the original NR so i never expected to hate this one. But sadly, its intolerable to me. Probably because I don't like clean musky soapy scents

brandybasisty

I'm trying this for the first time it's a rose musk bomb with a creamy Gardenia dry-down on me. And- mixing it with Guerlain's Double Vanilla is holy shizballs!

I think the biggest mistake I make when blind buying perfume is not keeping the temperature of my surroundings and the season too much in mind, I blind bought this perfume in the summer heat and man oh man did I feel suffocated, but in the dead of winter it brings a comforting warmth, it reminds me of a school teacher, she makes you happy but she deserves your attention and understanding at the same time, because she knows exactly what she's doing.
I just need one spray on my arm and people can smell it from across the room, so that's always fun to have in a bottle, it's just far too heavy for the tropical climate I live in, I'm sure it smells stunning in the snow 💖

Got this as a sample, my goodness this is a strong scent. Very musky, woody and a very distinct aqua net note. 80s gals will know... The person wearing this is either a mature business suit wearing matron or hard core goth. I see this being very polarizing definitely not office friendly.

I didn’t find this unpleasant, just more mature than what I usually wear. The musk paired with the vetiver dates the scent a bit for me, and it reminds me of my very elegant aunts. It’s going up for sale, feel free to PM if interested. Update:sold

I smelled this at a store in the summer and was a fluffy milky white gardenia. But when I bought it, and tried it on another day , it was a screechy woody musk ..just went black swan on me. Not sure if I got a bad batch. The lotion I have is still the puffy white heaven I know.

Also this is catnip, I've been licked and cuddled by many, known to be elusive cats, having this on. Strange.

A bit screechy, a bit shampoo. Narciso smells like a contemporary interpretation of a 1980s perfume; heavy, suffocating. The farthest thing from a "skin scent" and definitely not office appropriate. The Narciso Rodriguez line is high quality and very attractive for the price, but I've never fallen in love with any of the fragrances. I probably like Fleur Musc the best, but even that wasn't FBW. Despite all that, I think Narciso would be a fine evening perfume on the right person.

Dissolved_Mind

I remember smelling it at the airport a few years ago and liking it, but I was torn between Narciso and Poudree. To my surprise, they both smell pretty much identical to me, except Narciso starts with a blast of roses and woods and then dries down to cozy powdery musk

Honestly… I miss this fragrance.

It's so different compared to the others in my collection. Musk galore. But, it's ADDICTING!

The closest I found to this was the new Issey Miyaki. Think I'll buy that next, but who knows. Might be worth buying both.

I received a sample of this (along with 15-20 others) from my local Buy Nothing group. I just asked if anyone had any perfume samples and someone had been saving a bag of them from all of her Sephora subscription boxes. Lucky me!

On paper this smelled very woody initially, but on my skin the rose bloomed. I don't typically like rose, but I loved the rose in the opening of this scent. I wish the rose lasted a little longer. The gardenia was present for a while but it quickly dried down to all musk on my skin, which isn't a problem; I love musky scents. On my clothes, however, the creamy gardenia is the most present note. I found it interesting that there was such a difference between the experience on my skin and on my clothes. This is a very soft feminine fragrance on me. It made me want to put on my gray cashmere cardigan and a flouncy skirt.

This doesn't have a lot of sillage. It becomes an intimate fragrance rather quickly, but it is long-lasting. I sprayed it on last night and when I woke up this morning I could still smell it on my skin, so about 8 hours. The musk does go on and on and gets a little bit tiresome after a while, but one could just layer another scent with musk over the top of this after some time to change it up a bit. I plan on getting a full bottle of this. It's lovely.

Too sharp and woody. Something about it smells generic too. A disappointing blind buy for me.

i have to admit that when i first tried narciso by NR, i was like, “NOPE. too screechy!” - so, i scrubbed it off immediately. so unfair of me, right? i needed to give more time to this gem of a fragrance.

so, i gave it another try, and it was BEAUTIFUL. while narciso starts off super punchy with the rose, about 20-30 minutes in (on my skin), it melts into this soft & fuzzy musk with creamy gardenias. there’s also a woodiness from the cedar, which adds a modern edge.

because of it's multifaceted vibe, i can see narciso being worn by an effortlessly cool gal, who's walking around a flower market on a chilly fall day, wearing the softest and coziest oversized cashmere sweater, a pair of vintage levi’s and leather & cream veja sneakers, OR by a sophisticated baddie in a silk robe, who starts her morning off by spreading La Mer on her toast, while sipping a mimosa…that’s in a crystal goblet…she’s probably a virgo too.

How was it possible to turn a banal woody floral into something so pleasant, beautiful, grand, so classically well made and yet so modern and fresh? A masterwork of a great pefumer, Aurelien Guichard, who has now officialy surpassed his equally great father, Jean ;)
I like Narciso so much that I stopped caring about its feminine character and simply started to apply it in small amounts on myself (yes, I'm a man). Also, that sweet and careless quality of Narciso reminds of a long-lost gem – Vanilia by L'Artisan Parfumeur. A true marvel.

2 words: woody and musky. It opens under the guise of a fresh floral but immediately shows it’s something a bit more. Woody notes are prominent seconds after an initial spray all the way to its dry down. At its heart it becomes less woody and floral accords strike more of a balance but all in all, vetiver and cedar dominate here. I see this fragrance as unisex even though it isn’t marketed that way and for these reasons I wouldn’t recommend it as a blind buy but can say it’s something any lover of woody accords could potentially enjoy.

Narciso smells like I imagine Dolly Parton smells.
IN A GOOD WAY.
There is something gentle, something luxury, something totally different. It is a smell of woman you see walking in the street and you are just paralyzed how nobly she looks, how she acts... you are totaly jealous about her and want be like her, want to smell like her and even if her life is totaly disaster you desparately WANT TO BE HER!

This white cube has grown on me tremendously. I had to give it time, though. It's always been addictive and captivating from the very first moment I smelled it, but something about it repelled me too, and I can't pinpoint what it was. The cedar note possibly, or maybe its slightly masculine, unisex vibe? I can't tell.

I am a big fan of For Her and flankers, I do love musk, but I still had my trouble appreciating the cubes at first, and I partly still do. Bottom line: blind-buying is not a safe bet here (this is even more true if you like "For Her": the target audience for the two lines is clearly different).

I see the rationale behind the choice of a white color bottle, as this is a "fresh&clean" type of fragrance. To me, though, the association is rather with a green/brownish color, because the fragrance is aromatic and herbal to my nose. I can almost detect spicy mint, and that reminds me of Dirty body spray by Lush (which in fact has spicy mint and is unisex).

Overall, the good thing about Narciso is that it's very versatile, I can see it suited to day and night alike: perfect for its "fresh&clean" vibe in daytime, plus it's long-lasting and doesn't need reapplying, while during the evening/night it's a good choice due to its captivating almost hypnotic scent profile. To give you an idea, I kept reaching for my wrist and smell myself, even in the beginning phase, back when I did not like it.

It's a safe choice for the office, to go out for a walk, meet friends, go to the supermarket or staying in, to name a few. It's not offensive and doesn't project like crazy, which is a plus for the type of fragrance it is.

Narciso, it took me a long time to realize it, but you're a keeper.

Liked by others. I'm not the biggest fan of the perfume, but I wear it sometimes. Maybe I don't like so much musky perfume anymore. Otherwise, the perfume behaves well in temperate climates, without overheating. I can't imagine it in the summer, but autumn is perfect for it.

After owning this for a few days, I’m starting to think it is up there with my absolute favourites. It’s so good. I’m a 35 year old male, if that bears any meaning to you.

I came to the realisation at some point today, this scent matches all of the criteria of something I was looking for in the early days of getting into fragrances, say 18 months ago. It’s that beautiful but hard to define ‘your skin but better’ musk. Just enough powder, just enough floral, just enough straight up ‘cleanliness’...

I guess I’m trying to say it’s so perfectly harmonious and balanced. It is that perfect paradox of being strong but equally could be perceived as subtle. Ever present but definitely never in your face.

I’m trying to be as concise as I can and avoid rambling, yet I also totally agree with all of the other adjectives I’ve read: fluffy, creamy, rich, soft, smooth and so on.
