To me, the best way to describe this is if you take Dior Homme Intense & Bleu De Chanel & put the best parts of each one of them together. It barley even smells like a cologne but more like a REALLY good smelling lotion. This is a weird type of blue fragrance that has a fall/winter level of thickness to it. Super smooth, a lowkey superstar.

Denimtuxedo

Clean musk. The best in the bleu line.

Jaysned496

This fragrance will not project much or leave a huge scent trail but it's not trying to do that. This is a musky straight out the shower, clean woody scent that will stay with you all day (7-8hours) albeit sits closer to the skin and can be worn all year round. Perfect for the office or if you just want to wear something without offending everyone with your scent.. Sometimes it's better to be discovered than announced. I think this is a safe fragrance but with any fragrance always sample first.

Jackonium

This fragrance is not one of my favorites but damn it pulls compliments. It is a very clean, classy, fresh, aquatic fragrance and I get excellent performance. I easily get 10hrs plus. I think people who says it doesn't perform may be nose blind because after 4hrs i stop smelling however still compliments 7 to 9hrs later. I would even go as far as saying this is one of the most complimented fragrances i have and i have over 100 fragrances. Like i said it is not one of favorites however people seem to love it and comment. It is a linear fragrance and doesn't change. What you spray on is what you get throughout its life span. Very nice fragrance.

MSK1976

Love it very clean smell. But the longevity and sillag are week.

slopaholic

I personally love it, I can't see why anyone would hate it. Its clean, and its definitely not the typical blue scent. I've never smelt this on anyone else.
Lasts a decent while, and is an all around elegant fragrance. Sillage isn't crazy, but that's what I personally really like about this. Pulls a good amount of compliments, and I'd say this really suits any occasion. Elegant suited businessman vibe.

Only downside is that it is rather linear - Maybe that is fixed within the parfum version? Haven't tried it yet.

Total hidden gem. 10/10.

Nbar1

Really clean, deep blue powdery vein that lasts through the top and mid. Cedar is strong at the top but dissipates after dry down. Spices remain pretty strong until dry down as well. There's something about this that reminds me of spicy/woody lotion, and it's a great compliment puller. Great blind buy if a somewhat dense, creamy, woody fragrance is your thing. 5-6 hours of moderate projection.

TomoSumeo

This is a good scent that's been hyped up.
It's a clean fragrance that has a subtle reminiscence of women's cosmetic products. One must be out of his mind to call this a modern-day masterpiece or whatever. It is not. This is simply a scent designed to please women's noses. It's fresh and clean. Women will like it or love it, and nobody's gonna hate it.
Need 10 sprays.

Robusto

Classy, clean, and elegant. This will set you apart from everyone else at the office. It has decent projection for the first hour and can be quite sharp but it sits closer to your skin as the day goes on. It does have excellent longevity, though.

I agree with picking up lime....it's in there but covered by musk. If I could describe the fragrance, it would be lime, powder, and musk. It's fresh and uplifting but very elegant. It does remind me a bit of Cartier Declaration but only in the opening.

It's very versatile and can be worn just about all year round. Can easily be a signature fragrance. For the cost of this, it should be near the top of your list to buy because it won't break the bank and far exceeded my expectations.

Cheers!

Hamraessence

To @hamli below me, I couldn’t agree more. The opening is quite limey, with a dash of cardamom. The lime skin scent stays for a while.
Beautiful fragrance, and pretty cheap. Anytime anywhere type of frag, and you’ll smell classy. Recommend

hamli

Why am I the only one who keeps saying this has a cardamon and lime notes? It's not mentioned anywhere and I have never heard anyone say that but I keep getting a freshly peeled lime skin soaked in a cardamon tea and I'm on my 3rd bottle.

But then I was over the moon when I saw a magazine advert with Green Bergamot and Cardamon cloves scattered on the background of the photo of the bottle.
I'm still amazed how so many people do not seem to smell the overwhelming Bergamot lime and cardamon notes.

Obviously the Musky and woody cedarwood notes are overpowering and can't be missed.

A different kind of blue

Edit: I'm in love with it

Fragrance_Enj00yer

I like it quite a bit. I first had the EDT some time ago and would say that version is tiny bit better, but this EDP variant is still beautiful. Out of the shower, musky, powdery, masculine, sexy... I especially love to wear it when being dressed elegantly (or somewhat casual) in the summer. Not extremely loud, but if a lady happens to get close to your skin she will immediately be alerted by this scent in a positive fashion. I have gotten a fair amount of compliments when wearing it over the years, with some women absolutely loving the scent.

It's a little bit sharp or pungent in the opening, but it becomes very much bearable after the first couple minutes. Still, it might be not appealing to everybody as this sharpness does not go away in the first half an hour until it sits closer to the skin. Other than that, it's very inoffensive and a nice scent to feel great once you are already dressed well. Bleu Noir can be worn at the office, to the gym, to class, or wherever you want to go.

This scent will not blow anyone away, but that's also not what Bleu Noir is trying to achieve. Instead, it is a great iteration of a blue fragrance; a perfume which most, if not all, men can pull off. It's not the best fragrance for in the winter, but it's still very versatile and useable in all other seasons - both day and night.

8,5/10, because the scent is one that brings back memories and often gets me to make more. Also, it's often discounted, so it's a great fragrance to add to your collection for a relatively small price.

DONQUIIIXOTE

Sexy, smooth, musky lotion. Great for just feeling clean. It doesn't project too much but lasts all day which is great for my use case.

frend7

My first and only blind buy. Won't make the same mistake again. The top notes of this are sharp and abrasive to my nose, and even after it dries down the sharp pungent notes still remain on my skin. Artificial cleaner spray vibes to my nose. It does smell quite fresh and professional after the opening, and my partner thinks it smells masculine and clean, but I just can't get myself to like it after multiple wearings. Not a fan of this DNA. Longevity + projection is average. Maybe on someone else I could appreciate it.

doodluv

A watered down, slightly muskier, less 'offensive', more wearable and palatable version of Cartier Declaration and S.T Dupont Pour Homme with close to zero projection is all I'm getting from this.

I am by no means a fan of Declaration, so it's no surprise that I'm also not crazy about this.

The zero projection aspect, whether by design or accident, makes it so this is the kind of fragrance that makes you smell good, while not necessarily smelling like you have fragrance on if that makes sense.

6.5/10 I personally don't enjoy this DNA and can't think of a situation where I'd wear this over something else I have, shame about the 100ml bottle that will go to waste.

Docplaya

This is one of the better Blues. You get fresh out of the shower vibes

hihero

Good put on and go clean out of the shower scent. Very versatile and can be used in the gym or wearing something a bit more classy. Good longevity and siage. I combine it with ISO E and I feel it lets me maximise this fragrance.

pukpukgoo

Very masculine and versatile. Its fresh but still has a good density for night time or colder weather. Very long lasting and strong projection on my skin in a hot and humid country, 2-3 sprays are good enough for me.

ManOfStyle

So I have a decant of this along with blue noir edt extreme and parfum.

I was most excited to try this edp version as I had heard its very good and not the typical blue frag.

It smells like a medicine cabinet to my nose/

Very old school masculine and medicinal.

Its not for me.

I would not call this frag blind buy safe,
and you should for sure sample it.

I am glad I did before almost buying it at retail.

Craig27507

Fresh, clean, and powdery; like a fabric softener. It's an everyday fragrance that is non-offensive and can be worn on almost any occasion. It may not suit everyone's taste but I think it will definitely get compliments if that's what you're looking for. I really like it. I think women will love it.

Kaarssteun

Just popping in to say this thing is a real compliment puller for me. I don't think it's anything extraordinary - I mean, it is nice, but I'm not doing backflips over its amazingness.

The masterclass atomizer, absolutely phenomenal though.

MarieLlwyd

@EmJay87 Spot on summation.

EmJay87

This is a very good "I smell clean" fragrance that doesn't distinctly smell like a perfume or a fragrance.

"Your skin but better", "fresh out the shower" and "clean clothes" have been used to describe several scents I've seen, heard about and tried, but this is the first scent I've tried that actually smells like those things but doesn't actually smell like you've put something on.

*It* doesn't smell clean - you spray it on, and *you* smell clean.

You're just as likely to be asked what soap/shower gel or fabric softener and detergent you use than be asked what fragrance you're wearing. In fact, if your clothes are fresh out of the washer and dryer, the detergent and softener would probably win a battle of projection between them and Bleu Noir EDP. It's a moderate projector and moderate in terms of longevity, but it has a place, I feel, in your collection at the right price. And you can always overspray to boost it. I can't imagine 10+ sprays of this would bother anybody. It doesn't have a harsh edge or corner to it, so spray away.

Would work well for work or situations where smelling too strong or distinct isn't the right move, and literally works in all seasons and all times of day. There isn't a time or a place where this wouldn't work.

I highly recommend finding a sample and trying this twice. The first time you try it you'll probably be disappointed that it isn't "doing" anything or "giving" off any real vibe. The second time you try it, you'll probably begin to understand why it exists and how, when and where you'll want to wear it, and you'll appreciate the simplistic excellence that is Bleu Noir EDP.

Just_startingout

I think this one is worse than D&G The One EDP in terms of projection. Hardly smell anything in my room after spraying unless I spam 10 or more haha....even then, it almost immediately became a skin scent. I purchased brand new 'tester' variant from reputable seller though, not sure whether is it my skin chemistry issue or tester performance issue or this is what it is...

Smellybutgood

A unique take on the “blue” genre. Featuring Narciso Rodriguez’s characteristic musk note, the fragrance is warm, rich, and woody, but fresh, making it perfect for all-season wear.

Bleu Noir EDP is an easy to wear, dark, classy, deep, musky, clean, and sensual fragrance that I’ve practically worn out since I picked it up. It’s become one of my favorite “dumb reaches”.

If you wear Bleu Noir EDP, you won’t necessarily smell “different” per se, but YOU WILL smell great.

For men looking for a great all-rounder that stands apart from the trend despite standing within it, I rate this as a top pick. This is the kind of fragrance that’s as easy to inhabit as a perfect pair of jeans. It’s not a statement piece, but what wardrobe is complete without a great pair of jeans?

ricardo.evangelista

My signature scent is Azzaro Chrome.
Can anyone tell me why I think this Narciso Rodrigues looks similar?

dzb

I thought this would be a darker scent with Vetiver but it’s really juicy, minty, lemony, and fresh. Great for the conservative man.

Salohcin2148

9/10
Fresh clean sexy dry musk with a spicy woody back bone and the smallest hint of sweetness. Almost has a cooling affect on application. I spray the hell out of it and it lasts all day. One of those scents that you can spray away and it doesn't make it smell bad, just lasts longer. This is an anytime anywhere scent. Best in the NR bleu line as the parfum is just IRIS choke hold land. This fits that versatile all around segment in your collection. It takes a few wears to appreciate what this is doing. For a musk focused fragrance this is really good. The price to value for this one is amazing. I bought a 5oz and will back this up soon.

frankcoelho

Fresh, clean, linen-like musky all arounder.
Nothing I'd gravitate to aside from layering. Ended up returning my bottle, as it did not meet what I had envisioned.

TelmoFerreira

Fresh clean soapy musk fragrance for office. Great sillage.

Jaime N

It's a blue Declaration by Cartier. That's all you need to know. A slightly fresher, rounder, cleaner Declaration. Not very original, but it sure smells great. It has an awesome fresh musky fullness that really fills your nostrils as you breathe it in up close, and it just keeps getting better and better as it transitions into its later stages. Very versatile, with very decent longevity and projection. One of my favourites for office wear.

8.25/10

Wizzyrobe

Clean, but very dark in my opinion. Seems like a well blended fragrance but just absolutely not to my taste sadly. Not sure how I was convinced into buying this.

2007Jeepgrandcherokee

This is an incredibly classy, mature, and elegant scent. If you're a young guy that carries yourself well or an older and more established man this will fit you well. If you have any trouble with longevity and projection, this fragrance paired with "Noir" lotion by bath and body works will increase longevity by 2+ hours and projection quite a bit.

ThatBlindbuyGuy

Smells like soap at a 5 star hotel, but I don't want to smell of that as a man, it is leaning feminine especially in the opening, doesn't get more masculine until the latter part of the dry down when it is no longer projecting.
This is really not for me, but if you like soapy, clean and floral this maybe for you.

RayCashhhh

As someone who gravitates toward masculine fragrances that are on the sweeter side, Bleu Noir EDP has quickly became a go-to of mine. Very clean musk, some spiciness that has to be cardamom even tho it's not listed, and woods. The Bleu Noir name is very apt; it's definitely safe to wear in the office, yet mysterious and seductive enough to wear out at night. My biggest gripe is the lack of longevity and projection: I feel like I only get 2-3 hours before it's barely there on my skin. I just got a fragrance enhancer (Frequent Flyer ftw), and that has it projecting and lasting more and I'm loving it. Plus the bottle is GORGEOUS in person. I'll have to get my nose on the EDT and Parfum, but I believe the EDP is going to be the one for me. 9/10

Learningtosmell

Wish the fragrance was as nice as the bottle. There is a note in this that is very off-putting. It starts of smelling of Bombay mix / Dorito which fades a bit but stays the life of it and just doesn't sit right with the blue fragrance beneath. Different but not in a good way, likely to gather dust in your closet so definitely try before you buy.

LeSmeller

Herbal-spicy and musky, this is a fantastic perfume - for people who identify as an indian restaurant. For the rest of us, not so much.

This scent is the most similar to Cartier Declaration that I have tried, and it is decidedly not a good thing. If you're unfamiliar, Declaration is Indian food spices and armpit, basically. In my opinion, Bleu Noir is miles better than Declaration, but still. I can also smell the similarity to CK One, it has that upbeat floral-ish aspect, even though you wouldn't expect it from the notes list. Basically the Declaration part is pulling the fragrance down, and the CK One part is pulling it up. Is this what Declaration and One would smell together? I think so, if you added a bit of musk, wood, and amber. These additions benefit the scent, because, well, everything is better than Declaration.

In general, I find this fragrance a bit cloying and weird, though it is not far from pulling it off. It's not as girly as CK One and not as weird as Declaration. Mixing of the two results in a manly mainstream scent. For me, a little less Declaration and it would be more palatable. As it is... If you like Declaration, you will like this. You can think of it as musky, ambery Declaration. Also, if you like musk, it is worth checking out, it's very musky.

Is Bleu Noir a blue scent, by the way? In my opinion, fugg no.

Performance is good, specifically it is very difficult to scrub this off.

من العطور الجميلة جداً من حيث الأداء وتعطي طابع ورائعة إنتعاش ونظافة بسبب نوتة المسك فيها

Josif

Handsome, dark haired acquaintance of your father that seemed to always wear a white shirt. Rolled up sleeves, of course. You didn't really know him, it's just a childhood memory, but he was always polite to you, had a great smile and always smelt good. Besides your father, he was THE symbol of what a man should look, act and smell.

You know the guy.

Bleu noir is exactly that. It has that 'blue' quality, but it's much deeper than that. Musk gives it somewhat of a creamy quality that lurks behind, making it extremely sophisticated. Woods give it that final touch of masculinity.

Signature scents are meant to make a long lasting impression of one's individuality. This one does it perfectly. It's mass appealing, yet very unique. Bleu Noir isn't worth remembering - it just is.

Unmarkedbillz

Beautiful, unique scent all the while being mass appealing. Musk note here reminds me of the musk in Kiehl's Original Musk. Cedar and amber play nicely in the background. My only negative is the dissapointing longevity. Lasts about as long as gnat's fart on me.

frankcoelho

One thing I can tell from this fragrance is it's adding more to my "vetiver-musky" variants.
Very comfortable wear, soft musk with undertone of vetiver (which really is the wood most prominent, followed by this ambery cedar). Safe year round for sure, but not something to get someone's attention from afar, but one to discover. Not something my wife is attracted to, and NOT A BLUE FRAGRANCE indeed.
Buy it if you know layering, as this is a great base scent for adding some stronger citruses.
Would not rebuy, nor recommend it.

leto

It's a very office-safe, clean and fresh one, mostly based on white musk and slightly vetiver, and yes, it's also faintly reminding me of CK One as well, only in the first 10-15 minutes though. Then it gets woodier, so don't rush decisions.
It's a comfortable wear but I don't see myself buying a bottle, maybe on huge discount.

Samucakim

Não sei se o decano veio errado, mas eu senti muitas notas cítricas, inclusive notas laranjas! Adorei o perfume, muito energético, pena q não durou mto na pele. Sei que ele é mais intimista, talvez precise testar novamente!

RamaDMS

I love, love both Narciso Rodriguez for Him EDT & EDP, been wearing those gems for five years now but sadly they are both discontinued. So I thought that I have to try this, in order to find the replacement

This is a gorgeous skin scent that is appealing to everyone, but not complex enough to beat the original.
You can definitely smell musky scent that sits close to the skin with powdery feeling. Also on the first spritz, I can smell some citrus. Definitely a perfect choice if you're looking for a blue fragrance.

Ahmet Reis

This is sooo weak😒

mwtx

Bit of an odory musk with a handcream blue smell. Best way I can put it. It isn’t like an off putting odor though. Might not be for everyone, but I love it. I’ve put a huge dent in a 5oz bottle. I feel like the performance has improved on the bottle overtime. Not beast mode but not really weak either. I do about 7 sprays. The scent is pretty year round smelling to me. It’s just a sexy out the shower scent that isn’t so fresh it screams summer, but not cloying to where you can’t wear it in hotter weather either.

Not sure how long this will be around, but it’s solid. Good evening dumb reach out the shower if you want to smell sexy.

I was intrigued to buy this cause I smelt it once at the mall and thought it was unique and manly so I decided to buy it bcs it smelt high quality, when I got the bottle like 30% of the juice inside was missing I was like ok no big deal 70$ for 70ml. It smells dark and depressed, I call it my depressed fragrance bcs it smells like: imagine if Encre Noir made bluer and this is exactly what u get with this. Now the performance Wasnt that good to be fair it doesn’t project at all it sits very close and I thought it it doesn’t last at all but I sprayed it and 4 hours later like I wasn’t smelling it at all and a girl I was talking to said said “btw u smell really good” which leads me to believe you can easily go noseblind to it and maybe that’s why maybe I think the performance is bad but overall the performance ain’t anything crazy like 8 hours max idk for now imma let the bottle macerate and it’s getting sexier and better the more I leave it

d_retrograde

I normally don’t blind buy but took a chance on this one based on research and an overly tempting outlet price. My first sniff was a “like” - definitely pleasant, but I wasn’t sure about something in the opening which gave me a bit of a “man-imalic” tinge. To me it smells faintly of cumin (although I’ve only ever seen cardamom and nutmeg listed as spices in this frag, elsewhere but not on Fragrantica). Still, it had an alluring quality that kept me coming back to test. After a few more wears, I gradually came around to the brilliance of this scent and it’s now a “love”.

Bleu Noir EDP wears like an elegant second skin, providing a naturally clean aura that is understated with a sexy, masculine edge. Putting this on straight out of the shower just feels perfect. It is a “blue” scent in the sense that it's fresh and versatile, but the “black” side of the namesake also adds a uniquely cozy, sensual quality which differentiates it from the mainstream blues on the market. This works well for everything from casual to more dressed-up occasions, and I personally find it a great reach for "Netflix and chill" with the girlfriend due to its laid-back and inviting feel. The soft spicy woods, bright vetiver and clean musks are all smoothly blended and appealing.

Performance wise, this tends on the moderate side for an EDP, but with respectable longevity. In my experience, sprays can be dialed up without fear of becoming cloying. Overall, a classy and mature frag that I find myself reaching for again and again, and one that makes a strong case as a politely musky signature.

Yalcin05

It reminds me of Nishane ege drydown, minus the salty, it does reminds me of LV meteore minus the metallic note.. it does reminds me of ck one minus the freshness.. I don’t know is it me that I just smelled to much or does it gets more boring and boring with blue scents these days? It’s beautiful and good quality don’t get me wrong, it’s just it reminds me of so much. The opening Allright is nice spicey! Performance is good as well

MarieLlwyd

Safe as houses scent for men wishing to project freshness, good health and cleanliness. I find projection to be above average which doesn’t chime with some other reviews. No real sense of mystery associated with it - unlike the parfum with its iris accord - but will certainly get you noticed in the office.

JoshMonkey

Finally got to test this on paper. It's much improved than the Edt. Weird how planned obsolescence made it to perfumery but here we are. This must be the real reason why they're called blue fragrances in the first place. Anyways, this does not have the bath soap accord that typical of it's genre. I get it with the Edt but the Edp is a complete improvement. I don't want to test it more for fear of buying it on my limited budget. I think it's that good.

barrysharp

I like it overall, but to like it you have to like the "muskiness" of the line... and I do!
It's very well done, and this Eau de Parfum is a great 'mature' blue fragrance. Performance isn't stellar, but it stays as a skin scent for quite a long time.
I prefer this to the Parfum version, which to me has much more iris.

This Eau de Parfum has a similar note to Terre D'Hermes Eau Tres Fraiche. I have a bottle, and there is a single note in both of these that is identical to me. Different fragrances, though. I see no similarity to this and Terre D'Hermes EDT or Parfum (I have both). But I definitely get an "Eau Tres Fraiche" vibe, but without the sharp woodiness.

Overall it's a great fragrance in the blue category, really versatile and likeable. I don't like most 'blue' frags... but this one is really nice, and all grown up. But you have to like their signature musk accord to like it.

donnyinblack

fantastic stuff! If you haven't tried it yet you need to. One of the best Bleu DNAs out there. Has this "easy-going but confident and secure" vibe about it. Decent performance. The bottles in the line are also gorgeous - pics don't do them justice.

mm83

This is easily one of the best bleu in the market. Im glad there is no hype around this one, atleast it will make me smell different ;)

GetGUD

I'm someone who usually doesn't get the hype of Blue frags, but this one is a rare exception. A bit linear to my nose but it just smells... fresh.

Musk usually doesn't do well on my skin, whether it's chemistry, genetics, diet or something as simple as my skin drinking it up, I don't know. But this one works more than just fine with me. Longevity for a Designer freshie is very impressive, Sillage isn't killer but something like this is one I'd rather sit closer to me.

I would absolutely love it if the house would release this is a shower gel. I currently use & have used Cremo's Bourbon & Oak for the past couple of years but I wouldn't look back if NR made this into a shower gel.

eewatts23

This fragrance suits me because, unlike many other fragrances, this one transforms on my skin. It opens with a sweet orange for the first few minutes, then the vetiver and spices come out, reminding me of Declaration. It develops a lovely creamy woodiness but settles quickly into a close skin scent after 30 minutes. Finally it settles into a faint, earthy scent which smells a lot like an aroma molecule called "geosmin". Geosmin gives a soily feel to a fragrance, like wet earth. The heavy musk and geosmin end the show, which doesn't last long all together.

Now, this is an office or close-encounter fragrance through and through. This won't fill up a room if you've waited even 4 minutes after spraying to enter a room. It's not a screamer. It's meant to be classy and warm, which it pulls off. I'll probably always have it in my collection for the office because it is soft and non offensive. For a punchier fragrance with a similar DNA, try Declaration or Declaration Parfum by Cartier.

Yannickcz

I love IT. This is blue fragrance in another level. So clean and fresh with character.
Good longevity and projection.👍

Afc_Croatian

Soapy musk with a woody dry down and more spices than powdery, reminds me a lot of CK One. There doesn’t seem to be anything special here to me.
Inoffensive and neutral.

7.5/10

Tre de Fill

Perfume /EDP/ is overrated. It's nothing special. A soft pleasant fragrance. At first it smells like hand cream. It's a man's perfume, but it's definitely more feminine. Decent durability but poor performance. It can only be felt from a very close distance. I wouldn't buy it again and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Edit: The fragrance has evolved and is now better in strength and presentation.
Overall rating 7.5/10.

biscuit town

soap, musk, bit of woods in the back(to my nose any sort of amber accord is undetectable). Very clean and linear but not shallow or necessarily 'simple', if that makes sense. Imo this is the sort of scent that smells better the more you dress up. Still doable for casual wear, basically year-round. Longevity and projection are average but I don't find heavy spraying necessary. good value at discounter price

Funky_Monk1988

Terre d'Hermès? No. CK1? Yeaaah, I get what people are saying. Bit of a Soapie amber/ musk, that makes me sneeze every 10 seconds. So def on the chemical side. I had bigger expectations of this.

Dom Positano

@Apocalypse6vs8 there is a group of people on here that compare everything to TDH. I've been looking at a number of frags on here today with different scent profiles and all of them have some people saying it reminds them of TDH.

Apocalypse6vs8

First off, let me say this. Some of these fragrance review descriptions are laughable, at best. Others are just downright cringe worthy. Example; comparisons to Terre d'Hermes & CK One with a reviewer stating as follows. "The fragrance becomes similar. Not completely but, to a great extent. Dirty Orange & Vetiver feels." What?? But, wait as it gets better my fragrance bro-hams & sisters. A comparison to CK1 and this individual states "I haven't smelled CK1 in years but, this is exactly how I remember it." Huh?? Ok, first Terre d'Hermes and its scent profile. Citrus up top with Orange & Grapefruit. That opening leads to a powerful yet masculine peppery, Flint and floral accord. Finishing it off is Cedar, Patchouli, Vetiver and a touch of Benzoin. Dirty Orange juiciness with woods. The Vetiver here is more rooty and more pronounced compared to Bleu Noir edp which is cleaner and softer. Now this part is really important frag-heads. Pay attention. Musk is a predominant note in Bleu Noir edp throughout the whole wearing and life of the fragrance. That is a fact and is not debatable. Ok now, how much musk is in Terre d'Hermes? Wait for it. Absolutely NONE!! I know, mind boggling. See what I'm getting at here? It's not that hard to draw up a conclusion here on how similar or dissimilar these two fragrances are. You be the judge. CK One is not even in the same planet as it is a total green, citrus and tea like fragrance. I'm not going to address this fragrance in comparison to NR BN edp. It's an embarrassment to suggest or think that they are alike. The truth of the fragrance reviews have gone on the side of pathetic to sheer lunacy. A travesty to be honest as it dilutes the very nature of what this forum was created for. The overall impression of what a fragrance represents and portrays has been gutted by clueless fragrance rhetoric that just confuses and deters the average/casual fragrance follower from seeking unbiased and proper fragrance descriptions in a concise manner that is thoughtful with a semblance of intellect and some intelligence. The shit that is said/written here is purely whimsical and profoundly incoherent. But, I do giggle quite a bit.

NR Bleu Noir is floral, woods and musk. I get nothing more. There is that blue nuance to it a la Bleu De Chanel but, it has none of the citrus opening and much less of the ambroxan vibe though it is lightly present. This has quality craftsmanship with a subtle elegance and sophistication that is equal to Bleu De Chanel with a much softer projection yet serves its purpose beautifully as an everyday scent with better than average longevity. It evolves simply but, masterfully on the few ingredients and accords that it implies and carries. It's simply a gorgeous blue, woods and musk fragrance with a floral touch that is impeccably done. Musk is this house's bread and butter and it is done and represented here to near perfection. If you like clean musk and woods with a floral undertone adjacent to a light shower gel blue vibe, this just might fit the bill.

FragAk

The good thing about Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum is the fresh powdery relaxed feel it has, but then for Me it becomes similar to Terre d'hermes. Not completely but to a great extent. The same dirty orange and vetiver feels.

According to Me it's a powdery mild version or Terre d'hermes.

Oldspice

I've only tried Bleu EDT Extreme in this line. This also has the cardamom note from that one that smells identical to that in Cartier Declaration. It's a spicy, gourmand like cardamom.

Beyond that cardamom accord in the top, the base of this does smell very much like CK One. This wasn't bad but I like the Bleu EDT Extreme better.

reecewagner

To me this smells almost identical to Prada Luna Rossa Eau Sport with a little more floral touch - I get nothing Bleu or Noir from it at all, it’s fresh, flowery and not particularly unique or memorable unfortunately

Perm

Opens up promisingly, with the described notes, but then turns into something icky incompatible. Gives me a headache, unlike the perfume version. Do try on skin before purchase, I can understand that some find it pretty good, but for me, it’s unpalatable.

Tf209211

No one talked about BLV perfume from BVLGARI, it's a replica of it.

BearsFan

It's a nice bright fragrance yet earthy and natural smelling at the same time. I get hints of John Varvatos Artisan Pure but it's much smoother and lasts alot longer. Lasts most of the day while it projects moderately, arms length silage. It's not fruity but it's there. A sour musk that's slightly sweet. Very elegant yet versatile scent. I think it'll do better in warmer weather but it passes as a year round fragrance. I wouldn't reach for it in cold winter weather. I give it a solid 7.5, maybe an 8 on a good day. Scent is well put together and the price point makes it worth it. Purchased my 100ml bottle for 60usd

OdorMiris

Where to start? Well, not a fan...Attracted to the name because the Missus uses his fragrances (mainly the one in the white frosted bottle...not familiar with the name...). Ran it past a friend of mine here, who really knows his stuff, and recommended 'For Him Bleu Noir, EDP'...claimed it was the best of the line in keeping with what I was looking for. Readers Digest version: Beyond disappointed! Yes, it does remind me of CK1 and a bit like Azzaro Chrome (which I despise!) but only fleetingly...Mostly a soapy musk, very clean but I don't get the 'powdery' feel. Can be worn any time of the year, day or night since to my nose it's nothing special..actually it leans a bit towards the chemical side. Longevity is no more than 1 hour and fails miserably as an EDP...Upside? Got it as a gift and it will go to the back of my collection!

Bllynch1

Glad to see I'm not the only one who gets a CK1 vibe from this. I really wanted to love it because I really like the rest of the line, but all I get from it is CK1. A bit disappointing coming from a house with some unique scents.

Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir EDP for men -
For starters this is obviously compared to the EDT Extreme version. I have both and EDT Extreme didn't make the cut into my rotation because to me it's not Extreme and leans feminine. So it's easy for me to state that I do find EDP to be head & shoulders above it. I also for the most part dislike powdery men's fragrances but I do like for Him Bleu Noir EDP. So by default it is my favorite powdery frag.

I appreciate the gap that this frag fills in my rotation. It's a very clean fragrance without being an all out freshie that is somehow very powdery but yet with a distinct masculine musky dry down. A masculine musky dry down may sound old school or generic but the process on how it gets to that point and the end result to me I think is quite unique.
I mainly wear it in the spring and early summer but could also give it some wear in fall as well for a change of pace in my rotation. It could also of course be worn year round in a climate controlled environment.

Performance wise for me this fragrance is moderate in the 6 hour range like many others so I take a decant with me when wearing at work.

Afrikano

Just got this in today and it’s love at first sniff. Easy blind buy honestly, the notes don’t really describe the fragrance all the way. It’s a clean fresh shower gel citrus fragrance that dries down into a clean woody musk. Only a few fragrances have made me react like this, amazing buy

Yance

narciso redriguez, i have both of these lines, edt and edp, in my opinion even though they have the same name but both have differences. The wooden edt is more pronounced and thicker at the beginning, the edp feels more masculine, while the edp feels softer maybe because the warm spicy is removed so it smells more like fresh soap until it is closed to the skin. Both SPL can be said to be moderate, for lovers of this perfume, it is a must to collect because the fragrance is unique and different from most blue fragrances today.

Norbstar

Gorgeous opening, very pleasant dry down, wearable all seasons, all occasions, just adjust the sprays. Performance is a bit disappointing for an eau de parfum: 4-5 hours with 1-2 of decent projection. I will carry a 5ml decant with me to respray if necessary. Solid compliment magnet

Houston1863

The Narciso Rodriguez Bleu Noir EDP offers top notes initially of cardamom followed by wood, amber and that signature musk that is the hallmark of the Bleu Noir range. It is very versatile and usable through the year, even in early summer although I think users need to be aware that the cardamom shows more strongly in conditions of high heat, generally from 23C onwards and can initially overcome the delicious amber notes. At lower more pleasing temperatures, the woody ambery musk shows through eventually becoming the dominant notes. It is this I believe which attracts compliments on this scent, the smooth and velvety delivery of which makes this very soothing and rewarding to wear. Projection is better than moderate and longevity is around 6 hours.

Compared to the newly-released Parfum, the EDP has a more masculine character.

Update: I have had this 150ml bottle for just over a year now and am enjoying the velvety texture as well as the amber tones of the scent and have amended my rating accordingly.

Rating : 9.3/10

joakimnielsen123456

Elegant and comforting smell. Quite powdery and reminiscent of the inside of a woman's handbag. Some would probably find it too soft and feminine, but I absolutely adore it. Soft and classy, yet suitable for any occasion. Lasts 6+ hours

jacobnoergaard

It's hard to really do a review of this. As you spray it on, you're hit with the blue-ness and the musk quite quickly after. It's a pleasant enought smell. But it takes me like 5 minutes to go almost complete noseblind to this. My wife does catch the smell off me when we go for a walk, so it's not like it's GONE to other noses. Just mine. Annoying, since it smells good. I'll see how it performs. Only worn it a few times so far. Wife did ask what I was wearing, although she didn't say whether it was good or bad.

rick1098

Its a clone of Azzaro Chrome

JennMetts

From a lady, this is one of the best "blue" fragrances I have smelled. Fantastic!

christianmercier00225

Déclaration cartier dans une autre bouteille

raulinbonn

I smell the drydown of this fragrance as if it was quite a precise mix between Cartier Declaration, and Azzaro Chrome. Surprised not to see Chrome among the "Reminds me of..." submissions, so I added one. If you like either one, you will like Bleu Noir EDP. Besides that I don't get much more from it. Pretty straightforward: Declaration made fresher by bringing in the scent profile of Azzaro Chrome. Not as fresh as Chrome, not as spicy as Declaration, but completely bringing together and resembling both.

Invasionbg

Very pleasant opening and then dry down smells like very specific woman sweat. Maybe it’s just me, but this is how smells to my nose. Also lots of citrus but there’s no citrus included in the notes breakdown. Very strange fragrance. I have to wear it more.

Made by Kouros

PREJUDICE: "We wanted to create a stronger but fresher version – a technical challenge! I added some clary sage and made the fragrance more fluid, more watery, in a long-lasting freshness. The wood is more vibrant and gives more verticality to the fragrance. It’s also more ambery, with some cistus facets. I brought a new quality of citrus on top of the fragrance and played with our new extraordinary Integrale Bergamote Orpur."
- Sonia Constant says so in an interview. I blind bought this. Please don't let me down Ms Constant.

1st IMPRESSION. Very, very fresh opening that's quite unique, not your average citrus opening. Has that play-dough feel from the EdT that's quite peculiar, sort of candyesque but it's not sweet. Some people call it creamy, I needed to really inhale it to get at creamy. Needs some heat to open up (it's winter now).

2nd WEAR. I sampled Cartier Declaration L'Eau. It's almost exactly the same as this! I really liked the Cartier so wore the BN afterwards. Such a nice fresh spicy scent.

3rd WEAR. I craved for this after the shower. Yes this is a Like for sure, maybe a Love if it was stronger, but it's possible that I get anosmic to the musk. To me BN is fresh skin cent with the best, freshest cardamon I've smelled to date - I normally dislike cardamon, but love this. Maybe even the best bergamot too. The musk is a soft white cloud that envelopes you. A skin cent but a wonderful one; a better you. More Vert than Bleu and not very Noir, this is a green and light blue, aromatic, fresh spicy scent.

VERDICT. Musk, fresh cardamon and bergamot all of the best class. Bleu Noir smells like the most attractive person in the world drank a gallon of soda and sweated it out through the pores of their immaculate flesh.

Frogman_taras

It’s like if Aventus, blue de Chanel and Mancera cedrat boise had a threesome and had a baby.
Masculine, modern, very good as signature scent, mature but not dated.
It start with some similarities to Y edp, sweet and a bit fruity, but after few minutes it turns quite a lot. It becomes musky, leathery and woodsy.
Blue noir edp has good longevity and good projection and will get you a lot of compliments. The price is good too. I would rate this frag as an 8/10. It deserves a try if you don’t want to smell like tons of other men since this fragrance is not so popular so far.

ckorp8

Started out okay but took a roundabout turn into a strong body odor. Not for me. My dog would probably not recognize me should I spray this on.

Revisited this after a little more than a year. Still smells like strong body odor but quite a bit more acceptable now.

Llcj

It smells like a mix of terre d’hermes and terre d’hermes eau tree fraiche. Very pleasant citrus, powdery fragrance

2G

The problem most people have with the performance of this fragrance is because of the musk which I think can have the same effect as iso e super. You can go anosmic to it due to the high molecular weight.

ozgurakpinar

Got my bottle yesterday after sampling it. I don’t agree this is generic. I understand where they come from but the drydown (after 20 minutes) is quite distinguishable.

Absolutely for people 30+ and I can imagine smelling the drydown on a woman. In fact, it would smell sexy on a woman imo

Disclaimer: I find La Nuit de L’homme very sexy on women

KrisChan

Surprised no one has mentioned it but the creamy, musky, lotion-y, lactonic opening of this is very, very similar to Marc Jacobs Men. Even without fig, this has that creamy green effect to it.

Also, like Marc Jacobs Men, NR Bleu Noir EDP has a woody amber “blue” mid to drydown smell to it except this one’s twice as obvious. That musk that is Narciso’s signature does carry through a bit but the creaminess tones down a little.

I very much prefer this over your typical blue fragrance but the mid to drydown is still too blue for my personal taste. Can totally see why this could be popular or polarizing because of the creamy lactonic musk contrasting the very masculine blue aspect.

pietrob

Not sure why some people are complaining about this not being long lasting, but I sprayed it *once* on my wrist two days ago, and 2 showers later (and countless washings of hands) I can still smell it. Faintly, but it's there.

Anabol2336

Likely the most non well known "blue fragrance" currently on the market. Yes it has the blue type smell similar to Bleu de Chanel or the YSL Y EDP, but it also has a touch more class to it. Seems to have properties from upscale men's fragrances like Terre D'hermes or Tom Ford Grey Vetiver and the two fragrance genres mix perfectly in this one. It's safe enough for the office, but sexy enough for a date night. Also unlike the EDT version this one is fairly potent. In fact potent enough even for cold weather as I'm wearing it in January on a 20 degree fahrenheit day and it's definitely receiving compliments and positive attention. I highly recommend this one as it's a very under the radar quasi-blue style fragrance with a touch more class than the likes of Sauvage. It's also a bargain price wise as you can buy it from discounters for half the price of most high end designer blue scents. Last all day on me. Go a bit heavy on the trigger and you'll easily get 12 hours or more. Easily.

FilipK

I get prada l'homme vibes from this, just without iris and pepper. Just another average fresh and clean fragrance. I'd pick Bleu de Chanel or Prada L'homme over this.

hijoebye

Not sure if because I tried this in duty-free on the way home for Xmas, but the pine in this one is way sharper than the EDT, probably it's the vetiver. The EDT feels more creamy to me, probably the powdery accord. This one is more refined, I would say. I feel like this one emulates Terre d'Hermes where as the EDT is more like Bleu de Chanel.

I love the house of Narciso, and I'm still OBSESSED with the Original For Him but the Bleu Noir line hasn't wowed me. They are good crowd pleasers, like the brands they aim to emulate, but they lack an originality. I want to try the EDT Extreme because it seems the most unique to me, so still hoping to find a scent for me in the BN line!

peergynt

as a person who doesn't like blue fragrances, this one is ok. Definitely safe for every occasion, any time of the day. clean, crisp and suitable for men's use. Nothing groundbreaking. But I prefer Prada frags for clean smells. this is not your skin but better type of smell.

This is where it all started

This fragrance is the reason why i fell in love with perfumes in the first place

Manly and magical in smell and in its effect on girls. thank god it's not as famous as its other blue counterparts fragrances

Had a girl told me once "why do u always smell like masculine musk. does ur body produce?" to her nose it smelled natural it didn't occur to her its a fragrance

zebra782

Crowd pleasing, creamy musky woody goodness, slight resemblance to declaration, superb fall/office scent, can't go wrong with it.

ndo

Grabbed a blotter of this EDP along with the EDT while rushing through the airport. So take this with a grain of salt.

I don’t care about the EDP of Bleu which is sad. I wanted to like it. Came to smell a punch and left with a man‘s quiff of a scent. Can’t smell anything relevant.
Some weak musk with drrrry woods. There is an ambery feel here but it’s a feel, not really a smell. This weird rather anosmic experience is a good marker for an ISO-E-Super heavy scent in my experience. It tends to give me the stuffies.

Someone’s trying to pull off a Jean-Claude-Elena here. You know, the barely-there-thingerydoo. It’s either this or staff at the airports perfume shop is having a laugh right now.
Although still quiffy, it still klings on the blotter 14h later.

Samir66

Clean, sexy & masculine!! 💪🏽

Narciso has done it again!!
This is an excellent office scent. Not many fragrances smell like this so you will be unique.
It can be dressed up or casual. Another backup bottle worthy fragrance in my book!

Longevity: 7-8+ on me
Projection: first 3 hours strong, afterwards projection is around 1.5 metres
Sillage: The entire life of the fragrance.
Versatility: Year round, just adjust your sprays accordingly.

This one doesn’t get talked about much unfortunately. It’s such a gem that gets lost amongst the overly sweet unisex fragrances that are trendy today.

11/10 👍🏽👍🏽

discardedandroid

Huh, pretty cool. It smells like how the bottle looks. It's a flat, musky deep blue. Quite versatile, and pretty neat for a blue scent as to me it seems somewhat unique and not sharp or synthetic. Worth trying. I like this WAY MORE than the original NR For Him in the gray bottle. Recommend.

prutarius

This is an AMAZING fragrance. I just wish it had longevity, projection, and sillage. Wear it for yourself and not for long...

Danone999

For me it is perfect office scent

Clean fresh, elegant, long lasting with mild projection

Ticktock

Actually wearing this today. Not sure how to describe it but it is a really nice scent.
Fresh, woody and clean with a pleasant musky drydown.
It has a fresh and clean "out of the shower vibe" but not in the same way as alot of the modern "blue" fragrances that lean more towards aquatic and citrus nuances. Nothing like Dior Sauvage, Chanel's Blue de Chanel ect..
As it drys it has a sort of "creamy/musky/powdery/soapy" freshness if that makes any sense at all.

The opening is a sheet of dark blue glass being hit by water..later it becomes an ebony wood bowl filled with cedar wood shavings, pieces of amber and vetiver on a bed of cashmere..

Definitely modern and extremely versatile and I can't see many people disliking it. Good for cooler and warmer weather as well as casual and formal settings. Not groundbreaking or unique but just a really good smell. Longivity is OK but not great for an EdP, though it is a nice scent to reapply.

Thumbs up!

istrate_jhony

I've got it as a gift set 50ml&200ml all over shower gel for 29£ so I cannot complain at all, the opening is very beautiful and unique but the longevity is very poor not more than 3/h, would I buy this again? I tend to say yes because I like it.
Edit: The longevity can be improved by just applying more, I've try it and I do get more that 3 hours now.
4/5 from me, beautiful scent for summer and office.

Sol0013

I tested both edp and edt at the same time. The bottles look really similar so I hope I'm not messing them up.
The edt reminded me of terre d'hermes. Such a classy perfume for a young gentleman.
The edp version is nice too. And it smells cleaner. It reminds me of NR Pure Musc for her. I have that perfume and I'm obsessed with it. I'd say they have the same cleaness but Bleu Noir is less floral. This is definitely great for spring and summer.

supersoldiertwan

Just grabbed this one the other day been rocking for a couple of days now and I like it a lot. On first sniff the opening seems very similar to "under the lemon tree" from MMR. Other comparisons people are giving are to fragrances I haven't tried so I can't make that same comparison. So far this is definitely a great fragrance and easily one of those dumb reaches decent price so it having moderate lasting power doesn't bother me cause the fragrance is cheap overall I'd give this a solid 7.75 out of 10. Simple but with some depth and easy dumb reach fragrance for those nice warm weather days.

Tastiefreeze

So lots of people are stating this one is weak, not personally in my experience, personally own a 3.3oz bottle in case anyone's aware if batch variance. Any ways, it's strong but not in the way most strong fragrances are. This isnt "shouty". The notes of this, specifically the cardamom is toned down (if even present at all.) Anyways since the top notes are toned down and the mid vetiver is the same, this can come off as a weaker scent, but the musk is so so much stronger. It's like if you changed an equalizer on a home theater amp, turned the treble down and the bass way up. The depth is nuts, but since musk is a lighter scent it's harder to pick up and over heard not everyone can smell it well. That said trust me, it's strong booming creamy musk, vetiver, and ebony wood. Lasts 8 hours easily.

Ronald J

2019 Sample
I was really looking forward to testing this, but I am disappointed. Mqkm below described it perfectly "I expected something stronger, soapy, and unique". This is indeed extremely soft. What you do smell is pretty much gone after 4 hours. The musk is the only scent that still lingers around on my clothes, but I have to rub my rose in it to smell it. I can smell the Cedar and Amber in the opening and it is nice, but I can't identity Vetiver. The bottles look amazing and I nearly blind-bought this, but I stumbled upon this sample and am glad I didn't buy it.

SeasideSherlock

This fragrance has quite quickly become a bit of a ‘do it all’ for me. I’m wearing it to work frequently, and on weekends. It’s got a lovely powdery base with some great sweet notes to start off with. It’s deep enough to wear in the evening but bright enough for day time wear too. You’ll smell like you’ve just finished showering with a really expensive, luxurious shower gel. Recommended!

Mr45

Fragrances are subjective. 6.30 am (GMT +8). Using this for work for the first time today. Very decent atomizer that dispenses the liquid in a fine mist. Can't detect the top notes but there is something citrus and candy shop there. Settled into a nice sublime woody musk that I can only describe as a very cosy cashmere wool sweater or scarf. More updates on this as it progresses through the day.

polaroidcaesar

Classy, sexy, clean, fresh, dark, powdery, warm, cozy.

This is a great fragrance, and one of my favorite buys of 2020 thus far. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, and will definitely smell familiar to most noses. This woody-musky-fougereish DNA has doubtlessly been done before. However, the blending, quality, and the manner in which Bleu Noir EDP pulls off that DNA off is notable.

First off, I will say that I have not smelt the EDT, so I can't say how it compares. I will say, however, that this has absolutely NOTHING to do with Terre d'Hermes beyond the fact that they both contain vetiver and wood. There are shades of Cartier's Declaration here, but only just; this is not by any means a clone of that fragrance. Bleu Noir EDP is dominated by a smooth, creamy, clean musk and supported by woods and amber. None of the spiciness, bitterness, dirtiness, or really complexity of Declaration is present here. This like Declaration trimmed of all its sharpness and edge, rounded off and smoothed over. Overall it is an exceedingly simple fragrance (in the best way) with little evolution which is completely inoffensive, comfortable, and easy to wear. If you love clean musk, this is one of the best in the designer realm for men.

As others have commented, this is a fragrance of contrasts. It absolutely lives up to the name "Bleu Noir", i.e. "dark blue". There is definitely darkness here - dark woods, deep amber, rooty vetiver - but there's light, despite the lack of citrus, and transparency too. The musk is at once dense, creamy, and fresh. The mental image I get when I smell Bleu Noir is almost exactly the same as the bottle - a sheet of dark, cobalt blue glass, opaque but transparent enough to see through, with a light shining behind it.

Because of the contrasts, I could easily see different facets of the fragrance emerging depending on the weather. I've only worn it in warm weather thus far, and I've been getting mostly the lighter side of things in the heat. At the moment, the dark ebony and cedar only seem seem to emerge in the deep drydown. However, I could easily see this being just as well-suited to the cold as it is to the heat, with the woods and amber taking center stage. It truly fulfills its role as a "blue" fragrance, being a Swiss Army knife that can be used for all occasions in all seasons.

I have not had the performance issues that others have had at all. 4-5 sprays lasts me about all day (7-8 hrs) with soft but noticeable projection for the majority of the day and arm's length sillage. It creates a very pleasant but somewhat restrained aura around you, which in my book is the best kind of projection. I'll have to test how well it performs in colder weather, but performance in warm weather has been surprisingly strong.

Overall, Bleu Noir EDP is an easy to wear, dark, classy, clean, and sensual fragrance that I've worn the hell out of since picking it up two months ago. It's become one of my favorite dumb reaches, and my girlfriend has started to refer to it as "your scent". I think this one has flown under the radar, which is easy to do in this blue designer market. If you wear Bleu Noir EDP, you won't necessarily smell "different" per se (though rest assured, this smells nothing like Bleu de Chanel, Sauvage, Dylan Blue, or Elysium), but you will smell great. For men looking for a great all-rounder that stands apart from the currently trending, I rate this is as a top pick. This is the kind of fragrance that wears like a perfect pair of jeans. It's comforting and cozy, stylish and suave, sleek and a little bit sexy. It's not a statement piece, and it's not even necessarily a huge compliment getter, but what wardrobe is complete without a great pair of jeans? For the price I paid ($56 for 100ml with a great presentation), I couldn't be happier.

8.5/10

Kusuma_TH

I really like this scent. Smells like Asian curry spices mixed with a clean scent of soap and powder but blended smoothly and very harmoniously. Gives a clean, attractive feeling. Suitable for everyday for men or cool women as well.

Ambroxer

Several years ago, I vacationed on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro. For whatever reason, Bleu Noir reminds me of the experience. It’s a clean and very musky scent that brings to mind powder and fresh linens. I could see it fitting in well amongst the music and sizzling meat aromas wafting in the air while walking down the mosaic sidewalk.

Perhaps it is Bleu Noir’s clean sensation that brings on the memories. The scent feels like it belongs in a luxury hotel room before strolling out on the town while casually dressed up. It’s sexy in an understated way, versatile enough to stand tall amongst the nightlife, yet equally elegant for the inevitable return to the hotel room as the night draws to a close.

Both loud and intimate, Bleu Noir is a fascinating study of contrasts I don’t have any issue with longevity or performance. I get several hours of heavy, musky projection. For something so unique, it’s kind of a miracle to be able to find it as a relative cheapie. This is an exotic yet intimate fragrance. It won’t be to every taste, but for the adventurous, Bleu Noir may work wonders.

mjhazard23

Love on the first wearing. Not only clean but incredibly sexy. To me it’s a unisex signature scent that’s extremely versatile. It reminds me of Miami Beach: crisp white linen and beautiful sexy people. 9.5/10

DrNDJas

I have found my ultimate musk fragrance. Narciso gets the balance of mild funk (a la Kiehl’s Original Musk) and traditional masculine notes just right. This one is clean with just a hint of dirtiness lying underneath. It’s dark but transparent at the same time. You could wear this in summer just as easily as cuddling by the fireplace. Longevity is good, sillage is modest. There’s a mild remnants of the EDT in this, but the spicier elements are dialed way down in favor of that smooth, clean woody musk that NR does so well. It’s comforting and intriguing at the same time. The best fragrances are full of contradictions, just like Bleu Noir EDP.

Muskrat27

A soft, beautiful scent. Hypnotic, unassuming--this is a fragrance you can wear to bed. Lots of dark, woody notes coming together to create a portrait of calmness and repose (and nary a flower nor a citrus to be found!)

Highly recommend.

SocialAssassin

For a designer offering, this fragrance is simply stunning. I'm sitting here wondering what took me so long to sample this one. In all honesty, it might have something to do with the fact I disliked the original due to its heavy use of cardamon and overall similarities to Terre. This one on the other hand ditches that blueprint completely, while adding bergamot, neroli and basil into the composition. Maybe even orange blossom. Just beautifully done. Simply puts niche fragrances like MFK's APOM and Refection Man to shame. I just love the refreshing warm woody musky dry down. Absolutely gorgeous scent.

sarah.brooks.1

Maybe a blueberry version for her would be nice..

Golcher

@slpfrsly_ I agree with you, I get around 6 hours which is not great but it's a solid and honest performance. Scent is great, I like Blue Noir EDT but this is worth trying and it is worth having

lazar.teodor

I agree with the reviews, the performance is very low, but the fragrance is very very good

Kinggeebee

Intelligent, warm, inviting, smooth, calming, mature, classy.

It lasts around 10 hours on my skin.
Average projection.

I cant discern any specific notes, especially not those in the note breakdown (other than something woody).

My wife loves this, so do I, a lot. It is definitely one of my favorites.

Enjoy.

Oh boy this fragrance really loves playing hide & seek!
When I first tested this at the Singapore airport i was like wtf?! I could barely smell it after a second!
But then I tested it again in a Bangkok departmental store & the smell was so strong & present for the whole day!
Anyway- i loved the scent & decided to pull the trigger on online.
Verdict: Its definately there. Sillage is pretty good & the smell is really strong! I am not sure if this is a batch issue, situation issue or just a reaction to peoples body.

dhaval_kord

-when first i smelled it, i really find it interesting and first thought came in mind was smooth sophesticated blue fragrance.. but i dont think girls will love this fragrance. i dont mean they wont like it but woman will surely love it coz it's really sophesticated and gentleman kinda fragrance.. it's suit and tie or wedding fragrance.

-It really justifying its name bleu Noir [blue black]. as people say blue is new black. i think that's y they name this fragrance such a way.. it's for a guy who just doesnt care about compliments and just care about himself only.

-perfume quality is good. projection is average. actually scent character itself is smooth fragrance so u have to apply more to get noticed.

-if it fits in ur criteria as i mentioned above then u should check it out..

For me just another waste of my money.
THE WORST PERFORMANCE EVER!!!!!!!!!

Scent 5
Longevity 2
Sillage 1

There are thousands of better options! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS FAILURE!

Roh-Ee

So sexy and seductive scent.
you cant go wrong with this beast mode

joseffgabriel

I loved this one more than the edt. The edt smells like body odor, or something like onions and garlic. This one is much smoother and doesn't evaporate fast. Good thing I tested both on skin. On my list for a bottle worthy designer frags.

biff2

This stuff was a lucky find for me. I bought TDH last year and it's now one of my favourite summer scents. On first impression with this I thought no, this stuff smells too similar to TDH. However now I think the dry down smells so good and actually dosent resemble TDH as much as the EDT version. Its more of a blue/mettalic version of TDH with a slight industrial feel to it. I don't understand some of the complaints on longevity either, this stuff is strong and lasts for hours (maybe batch variations). Great scent 8/10

shayz

Woooooow this is good stuff
one of the best blue fragrance out there.

Cassiano

First, it is worth noting that they did not repeat the mistake of the past when they launched For Him EDP, whose fragrance bore no resemblance to that of For Him EDT. Narciso For Him Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum has the same olfactory signature as the Eau de Toilette version, released in 2015, and shows that it is possible to achieve a differentiated result by just exchanging a few notes of place within the olfactory pyramid.
This time, the ebony and blue cedar notes come to the front. Then, the musk - Narciso Rodriguez's signature - reigns absolutely in the body of the fragrance. Finally, amber and vetiver add the finishing touch of the Bleu Noir family.

On the skin, Narciso For Him Bleu Noir EDP helps demystify the notion that every fragrance in Eau de Parfum concentration is always more nocturnal or driven to special-events than Eau de Toilette. This "rule" has not existed for a long time!

By spraying this Bleu Noir EDP version on the skin, we are hit by a woody and aromatic punch in the nostrils that can wake anyone on the mornings of a Monday. There is no resemblance between this opening and that of the Eau de Toilette version, which is spicier. Then evolution brings the musk, which I particularly couldn't feel in the previous version. And this musk smells the same as the one used in For Him EDP (2012). It is from here that the DNA of the Bleu Noir line begins to make itself present and the story gains continuity. Then, the deep notes begin to emerge and bring that vetiver from before, not so dry now, but moldy (and more unusual within perfumes).

In my opinion, this Eau de Parfum version is more diurnal and versatile than the Eau de Toilette. However, the previous one pleases me more because it seems to be well done, while this one has some protruding points that bother me, such as the drying, which brings unpleasant nuances that resemble washed and damp clothes that seems to have been stored before drying completely.

From personal experience, it is not a fragrance that works well at high temperatures. It has a certain uniqueness, but of course, some will say that “it is the child of perfume X with perfume Y”, which differs from my point of view in this case. The performance is not amazing, but not deplorable either; median is a good rating.

The bottle has repeated the midnight blue color with matt finishing inside, but the glass is now blue and has eventually gained dark nuances that play with our perception and make it appear that blue meets black. Stunning is the correct adjective!

phigreco.1

sooooo generic. pass

flp

I am with everyone who advise to ignore the dislikes about it. I believe this is one of the most elegant of the blue fragrances family.

I can imagine people who are into design, architecture and fashion would love this. I can smell a bit of hair stylish spray and cigarette smoke, somehow in a really good way. Believe me. It is like being in the backstage of a fashion show the entire day and going outside for a smoke in winter. Hopefully someone on Earth knows what I mean. It is modern, grown up but not mature.

If Narciso Rodriguez was looking for a fragrance which could represent dark blue almost black, he nailed it in the EDP version.

biscuitdough

My bleu heaven! This is seriously the best of all the blue parfums out now. It smells like a modern masculine fragrance, but without the dirty vacuum cleaner bag accord of badly-blended ambroxan and coumarin. Not to say there aren't modern, synthetic bases in play here. I'm sure there are. But the missing ingredient from all those other blues, silvers and nuits is finally here: skillful blending.

baki1

I agree with Oleo, have these people even smelled the fragrance before commenting??
It is a very modern smelling and good performing perfomance 10h+. Definitely would recommend this one for those who want to smell clean and fresh.

Oleo

Frankly, sometimes I wonder if many of the people who write so loudly here have really smelled the fragrance...

Because there are things subject to opinion, but there are others that absolutely not. And much of what I have read about this perfume here, is simply a lie.

First of all, I got it... So at least, I know perfectly what I am talking about: I don't write a review based on four snorts on a cardboard.

For me - without a doubt -, this perfume is at the highest level of designers quality... And in my honest opinion, one of the best recently launched: the definition of a modern masterpiece.

This perfume is deep and fresh, comforting and modern, creamy and elegant... A highly seductive fragrance. The main player here is musk, wrapped in sophistication, romanticism and mystery.

Characteristics:

- Mood: Sensual, seductive, elegant, classy.

- Projection: Moderate. At the opening, it has the length of an arm (<2h.). Afterwards, a persistent half an arm throughout its development.

- Sillage: Dense & consistent. Suitable for clubs and perfect for dates and close encounters.

-Longevity: > 10h.

This scent acts as a deep cloud of refined musky aroma around you, for a looooong time.

... So if you really know the perfume, in no way will you believe the words of someone saying that it doesn't last:

Possibilities:

- 1: The guy in question simply hasn't been tried the true perfume.

- 2: It's a simple lie.

- 3: His nose doesn't work or is broken; I have read that some people are not able to detect the smell of musk well, but I don't know if this is really true.

- 4: Maybe his body odor is so smelly that it exceeds the perfume; musk is a "bass" smell (making an analogy with sound), which can be completely masked with body odor, if it is excessive.

... But if you are a clean and neat person, this would not be a problem, right..?

NOTE:

It should be noted that this EDP version it is quite different from the EDT, which is the one that has a slight resemblance to TdH & Declaration. That doesn't happen in this EDP, although the versions still maintain some common DNA.

Between the two, I prefer the EDP: It's more elegant, more seductive and lasts longer, but the EDT hits and projects more in the opening, if you're looking for that. It's different... But a solid fragrance, too.

Don Pitralon

Starts almost identical to Cartier Declaration, you get a fresh spicy splash shortly followed by soapy tonka and cedarwood, however the drydown unmistakenly reveals Rodriguez signature musk. I’m personally not a big fan of musky scents as they tend to turn into a bit of sweet sweat smell on my skin and that is what Bleu Noir does here as well. I hardly see a reason why to choose it over Cartier - which I find fresher, classier and easier to wear. However if you crave for the musk note, it can be a welcomed alternative.

Przem

Very nice fragrance but very poor projection. I am not very interested in huge projection but at least I would expect to smell the scent on my wrist after a few hours.

As the dry down is similar to regular Narciso Rodriguez EDP (mainly musk), it makes more sense to stay with the latter one.

MyaboSores

I already have the EDT and I'm just mad in love with it. I've tested EDP in the past and it was extremely weak, today I've decided to give it another try.

Absolutely no projection, maybe just at the first blast, close to the skin immediately after applying the fragrance. The opening is quite nice, somewhat similar to the EDT, but much weaker.

After 1 hour you have to put your nose onto the skin to smell it. I swear, after 1 hour I get a floral woody scent. I have no idea how, probably the musk combined with vetiver and cedar give it this scent, which is very feminine. A woman could wear this easily, if she wanted something this weak on her.

The dry down is very similar with Bentley Azure, but a bit woodier. Also Azure is way more masculine than this.

After 2:30 hours I can barely detect the fragrance on my skin. This doesn't make it to the 3rd hour.

So, if you like the opening buy the EDT, it lasts 6-7 hours on me with 1:30 hour projection. If you like the dry down buy Bentley Azure, it lasts 4-5 hours on my skin with 1 hour projection.

Metolord

Absolutely great for summer I would not recommend it for winter (if you read notes) I know a fragrance by half price 3times better and louder performance!!!! Are you ready??? Here you go: Bentley azure
also some how like lalique white

haddock

As you see in the notes, this perfume consist of Amber, Musk and Ebony. These notes made winter perfumes, so you may amazed after hearing that this perfume is suitable for warm weather. So, Why this perfume is suitable for spring (or summer)?
Musk and vetiver and amber create an accord that when you smell Bleu Noir, you feel fresh effect from them and this describe all about this perfume.
I shall say that despite of this freshness, you can almost detect vivid smell of musk in Bleu Noir.

TrephineArtist

First impressions on a quick test;

This is a nice smooth, creamy & soapy scent with a surprising amount of freshness given the listed notes. I like it and would definitely like to give this a proper test (with a sample) at some point.

It may not be not something I'd wear all the time given it's muskiness, although thankfully it's not a dirty or animalic musk (to my nose) and instead gives off a rather clean vibe coupled with the woods. Could be good for dressed up (as in a suit not a dress guys, but I guess it could really be unisex too).

masmoz

What a disappointing weak fragrance either by its scent and longevity, incomparable with the EDT version which is a fantastic perfume. Even can't be considered as a regular eau de cologne. I don't know even why they released such a nonsense stuff bearing the name of the respectful "Bleu Noir" as eau de perfume.
Shameful downgrade.

Update: I've challenged with it as I mistakenly bought this instead of bleu noir edt, lastly I've come to a conclusion that much of my dissatisfaction about this stuff may come from my masculine side as I'm a man and it stands much more on the feminine side and as a cologne not edp so they had to name it: "bleu noir for her eau de cologne" and womens would have truly better review this.

alexsuditu

Disappears within seconds.. The worst performance I ever encountered in a EDP concentration.

Paul.Monk

Good scent, bad performance. Especially for an EDP.

I can understand why people compare this to Declaration. But TdH... ? I really don't get it.

Sharpes_Atheists

My husband is on his second bottle. His female colleagues keep rubbing against him like cats during mating season. This perfume should not be sold to married men.

Clean, fresh, masculine. He bought it as a summer perfume which worked beautifully. But now as the temperatures get cooler the perfume gets more and more captivating.

sammy69

Al principio tienen similitud con el EDT pero en el secado el BLEU NOIR lo supera,es mas cremoso y inofensivo. Y sigue siendo muy masculino. IMO

smellsbells

THE BEST OF THE BUNCH. Has alot to offer in versatility and uniqueness. Catrier declaration essense clone a bit but with a twist.

mateuszolech072

"We wanted to create a stronger, but fresher version – a technical challenge! I added some clary sage and made the fragrance more fluid, more watery, in a long-lasting freshness. The wood is more vibrant and gives more verticality to the fragrance. It’s also more ambery, with some cistus facets. I brought a new quality of citrus on top of the fragrance and played with our new extraordinary Integrale Bergamote ORPUR. I wanted to create a male fragrance that’s irresistible, but not following trends. Nothing fruity, gourmand or fougère. Just a very elegant woody-spicy-citrus fragrance using the best natural components." Sonia Constant about her new creation.

haddock

I will write a review about this perfume later, but I am so surprised about most of the people that say that this perfume is suitable for summer!! It is very clean that Bleu Noir is a perfume for fall or winter not summer time. If you see notes (or test this perfume), Amber, Ebony and Musk, you'll agree with me.

Aceborne

At first spray I smelt mango... I don't know. At drydown there's a reminiscence of the EdT but not quite like it.
Can't contribute about the performance, sorry.

I personally prefer the EdT.

Note to the staff: I can't really click, for several of the perfumes, in any option of your system of "I love, I like, and I dislike". For instance, I don't love this perfume. I actually like it in the sense that I believe is a pleasant, non-offensive smell, though not something that I would buy as a perfume, but I would wear it occasionally if someone would give it to me as a gift (in a 5 option-system this would be the middle one, something like "it's ok but nothing special for me".) I don't dislike it, like I dislike CK IN2U. To hate a fragrance is really weird since is not its fault lol, but say Bond Nº9 New York Oud which I hate because I really dislike the scent, find it very pungent and offensive but it has the performance I wish I could get from most of my perfumes. So what I'm asking is if you could upgrade the rating system to a 5-option system, and also the "sillage" options.

Meelosh

Smells nice but the performance is abysmal.

chairat.luck.pluem

Narciso Rodriguez for Him Bleu Noir Eau de Parfum was launched in 2018, It's the best for winter and autumn seasons....Feel like Chanel Bleu de meets Hermes Terre D'hermes and Cartier Declaration!!

beibinis

First impression: "Bleu de Chanel meets Hermes Terre D'hermes"

OlfactoryLover

The perfect counterpart to the ladies' Poudrée. Sexy, soft and masculine. When first applied it comes across pretty harsh as the alcohol is evaporating so bare with it for a minute or two. If another guy was wearing this I would have to just hug them lol it has such an inviting, gentle effect. Guess I am just a sucker for musk. Yet another fantastic release from Narciso Rodriguez.

GRAF

This was a strong like on the paper strip but on my skin is slightly different, dull and boring. The old musk bomb edp version of this line was a masterpiece compared to the new Parfum.

At the opening I can feel the presence of ambroxan which goes smoother as time passes. Ebony and musk are the main players along with the amber. Vetiver is mild and the cedar is faint.

Performance is moderate overall. Suitable for spring/summer daytime.

AndiJ10

Really lovely scent ! It really differs from the EdT one as this is smoother and creamy throughout the whole longevity of it, soapy with a pinch of muskiness, clean and has some aquatic vibes in the beginning ! Longevity on my skin is really great while it projects for 1-2 hours top at arms length and then sits closer to the skin !

remy.cullen.5

Smells like a regular soap. Likebale, but I could never believe that a non-bvlgari fragrance could bore me this much.
Expected sooo much more concidering how cool the bottle is. Also, I feel 0 similarities to TdH. If anything, its the exact opposite - clean, silky fresh and soapy, against dirtiness and spiciness of TdH

Midnight Lady

To be honest if not knowing what I was sampling, I can see being able to mistake this for female fragrance. Not really because it would smell too feminine, but it's very gentle and soft.

Fresh, light, velvety musk with amber undertone and a little bit of woody note. Smells very unique. I wouldn't mind wearing this one myself in summer.

Truly beautiful creation.

To me 8/10.

zenais86

A more juvenile and fresh version! I prefer this one that have less fucking approach of cartier declaration. More versatility! Good job

Gina Ky

The EdP perfumes like printer ink cartridge flavored with Declaration by Cartier.

lovetribe

the edt is better. the edp is another parfum.

groover

Liked this one better than the edt,
i get a dark creamy earthy and ebony
woodiness, tho the edt is slightly stronger on
me they both have almost the same longevity,
they are both good scents, if you like earthy
and a bit dirty scents this one could be a good choice,
others who never tried this brand sample first as it can
be hard to pull of for some people.

eric.cius

If I was to make this I would call it bleu violet.
It starts off very blue, almost aquatic but not quite. A pleasant surprise, On the verge of brilliance. It however dries down to something resembling a woman's hand lotion. Shame really.

originaldeftom

First off a very pleasant and 'otherworldly' aromatic fougère sensation that is rather different to whatever else is out there. However, this 'different, green, sharp, otherworldly' trend has recently been revamped by various offerings and seems to go mainstream now.

Who remembers Patrick Duffy in "Man from Atlantis"? He'd be the perfect poster boy for this, had it come out in 1984. For me this sits somewhere in between Bond No 9 "Bleeker Street", Roja Dove's "Elysium" and CHANEL's "Bleue". It does however have a somewhat weirdly, screechy, indescribable blue note, no I am not talking jazz, although there is ebony wood in there, but more of a crispy citrus, dunked in some formaldehyde or something industrial and petrochemical. It could be PVC-vinyl, cooled in some Pacific sea water, captured from the depth of the Galapagos archipelago or something similarly remote. It's just so strange....

I suspect this to do extremely well for those sophisticated and 'too cool for skool' boys and young men, trying hard to compete in an ever-growing market of trend-hungry metrosexuals, gender-fluids, so yes this will please both quarters either side of the fence. Gosh, I can even see women wear this; you know how women sometimes prefer and "steal" our era-defining male scents.

Now, if the 90ies was the decade of aquatics and the Noughties was the era of the Oudhs, we can safely assume that this decade of the Teen years is definitely a rather green/blue-fougère affair.

And so far I have to say, I like it a lot!

No more Oudhs please, we have had enough!

Verdict: Weirdly wonderful 9/10. If only it lasted longer....(version intense?)

Knows2Nose

There’s no way this can already have 7 dislikes. There should be a new rule where you can only dislike something if you explain why in your review: this way we know it’s real. This takes about 5 lines of code and no time to do....no reason why Fragrantica can’t do it.

Fitfiz

Cant wait to try it soon!

gypsy parfumista

Still treasuring the last of my NR BNfH EDT...and SO GLAD I waited! If the EDP of Bleu Noir is what I hope (and osmagine) it is a plusher version of the already dreamy EDT!

I know what I am asking for this coming Valentine's Day! ;-) *giggles*

Nostrils cautiously crossed here, but ultimately optimistic!!

smell swell & be well,
