Narciso Rouge by Narciso Rodriguez is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Narciso Rouge was launched in 2018. Narciso Rouge was created by Nadege le Garlantezec and Sonia Constant. Top notes are Iris and Bulgarian Rose; middle notes are Musk, Tuberose and Orange Blossom; base notes are Tonka Bean, Vanilla, White Cedar Extract, Cedar, Sandalwood and Vetiver.

Narciso Rouge is announced as a sublimely seductive, mysterious, provocative and passionate perfume.

"I love color that’s very pure; it elicits profound emotions and it’s very visceral. The red I’ve chosen for Narciso eau de parfum embodies passion and mystery." -Narciso Rodriguez.

The signature musk heart of Narciso Rodriguez' perfume creations is enriched with a warm bouquet of Bulgarian rose and iris. The "fiery sensuality" of the composition is embellished with an amber-woody base that includes vetiver as well as white and black cedar wood.

"With this new chapter, I wanted to elevate the seductive nature of the original NARCISO. The Eau de Parfum Rouge is not only sexy; it arouses passion...The new fragrance has a heightened sensuality. There’s a deliberate new spirit that's bold and intoxicating." - Narciso Rodriguez.

The face of the advertising campaign is model Raquel Zimmerman. The fragrance is available as a 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Iris. Gives me the sweetness of a marshmallow but with fluffiness of confectionery powder. The orange blossom gives just the slightest hint of syrup BUT something pulls it back from being syrupy. Soft but powerful! I think of all from this line this is the sexiest and least powdery. It’s super versatile so an easy reach all year round. The performance is all day without being overwhelming. I was looking for an iris dominant scent and they were all either too powdery or too stiff…Rouge strikes the balance well. I don’t really enjoy the style of musk in NR fragrances but this is a firm favourite! Love.

aleckzandurh

It smells like a powdery pink marshmallow flavored with rose water, but more womanly than it is girly.

I don't know, I bought an assortment of the Narciso Rodriguez samplers thinking I'd love them, but they're just not for me. Truly, madly, and deeply mid.

Lourdes.mansour

I used to love it, now it just reminds me of my aunt.
Sometimes I wear it to sleep, nothing more than that

From this brand I have For Her EDT, For Her Musk EDP Intense, Essence Eau de Musk, Narciso EDP, Narciso Poudre and this one and I had always thought this one is of my least favorites. I don't know what was wrong with me because this is gorgeous!
Having too many perfumes in your collection has it's huge cons. you don't give enough time to each one, you don't get to live with most of your perfumes so sometimes some beauties get overlooked. I'm guilty of buying some perfumes mainly because I had their sister perfumes and loved to see their bottles to sit in a row. Narciso Rouge was one of them. I really like these cube bottles and this one came in such a pretty red color. I love Narciso EDP and Narciso Poudre so I hoped I'd like this one too. the first time I tried it, I felt meh. not bad but not as good as it's white and Poudre sister. it reminded me of Narciso EDT more than others. rose, musk and woods. I thought I'll revisit it later to see if other notes showup. fast forward five years, that later day is today. the other notes do showup and this settles down to something absolutely beautiful.
This perfume is far from being linear on me. It opens with rose, some sweet musk and a good dose of woody bitterness. the opening felt a bit dated, a bit too mature and a bit too rosey for me.still a meh. but after a few minutes it surprises me with a very gorgeous iris note which starts to bloom and steal the show from rose. I have a love/hate relationship with iris and it's a love here. it's not an overly dusty, overly earthy iris.it's a bit waxy but not too much. I can also detect tonka in this stage which I believe is usually a great companion for iris.
The drydown is a blend of powdery flowers, mostly iris, also violet eventhough it's not among the notes and a touch of rose in a creamy base of woodsy vanilla and Narciso line's signature musk which is neither overly clean and sterile nor too animalic and dirty. this stage is what lasts for hours and I can't get enough of it. I don't find it overly musky. it's mostly powdery floral in a creamy base but not a chalky type of powdery. it's like a soft, fluffy powdeyness. it reminds me of vintage makeup, mainly lipstick and face powder but at the same time, it feels kind of modern and it smells so luxurious and expensive. so sensual in a classy and ladylike way. so good! I'm 33 and I don't find this scent too old or too young for me. it's like an ageless modern classic.
I highly recommend you to give this one enough time to settle down on your skin.
BTW like others in Narciso line I always feel as if it doesn't have much sillage and is mostly a skin scent but other's complements proves me wrong. also when I feel it's almost gone, I catch a sudden heavenly waft of it.

Usually, the musk in Narciso Rodriguez scents tend to linger very harsh/ masculine on my skin, which I've not been a fan of (I love heavy, seductive, 'darker' scents , but if it develops too masculine on my skin, it's just no go for me).
However- I've always admired how long Rodriguez fragrances last on the skin - I've just been bummed about not having found the right musky match for my skin chemistry.

I'm pleased to say that Narciso Rouge IS the right match for me (!)
Its powdery, musky and distinctly feminine (not girly-girl, make no mistake- this is a woman's scent) notes blends so well with my skin - and I'm delighted about having finally found one to include in my 'permanent collection'.

To me, this is an amazing daytime scent that stays on your skin all throughout your workday, but it can definitely be worn when going out as well and it layers well with many slightly darker night time scents.

Skinterpreter

This one really surprised me. I expected something in the vein of Lipstick Rose or Narciso Poudree at very least. I expected something waxy, cosmetics-like, even lipsticky... However, this reminds me mostly of Adios Pampamia Mujer La Martina edt (I like that one, though). :P It starts with a bitter irisy note, then proceeds with something slightly fresh, slightly nutty. On my skin it stays like that for an hour or so. Only after that I get some powderiness and muskiness, which could be considered powdery, cosmetics-like. It´s nice and delicate. However, the Pampamia note is still present. In the very last stages of drydown it gets slightly sweet, but I was surprised the sweetness didn´t come earlier on. I do love the scent, doesn´t seem very "rouge" to me, but it´s very pretty, not too loud, elegant :) Also, to my nose it´s quite different from Narciso Poudree. The longevity and sillage seem to be moderate so far.

Am a lover of all things NR (especially the black bottle NR for her) but have had several others as well. None have disappointed. Got my travel size of Narciso Rouge today and sprayed it, and IMMEDIATELY recognized this scent as one of my previous signature scents from years ago! The first spay is IDENTICAL to Dolce&Gabbana for Women (the original red cap one from the 1990's.) But better. Now that it's dried down a little, it's different. Softer, prettier. But still definitely the DNA. I see a lot of people below mention that it reminded them of an older fragrance that they recognized and just couldn't identify. Pretty sure it's the D&G Woman in the red cap. If you look at the notes, they share a lot of them. That said, this is absolutely lovely. Will probably put it away until the fall, but am REALLY loving this!

vighletends

This is powdery musky perfection. It has the faintest slightest barely there similarity to good girl by CH probably from the tuberose/orange blossom, a lot less cloying, more powder and musk rather than the white florals whatsoever. I like good girl but I hate orange blossom if it’s even marginally detectable because it makes me nauseous so that’s how faint the comparison is. It’s mostly just a cozy musky sweet vanilla with the right amount of floral woodiness. This is almost a perfect perfume.

szeon

This perfume is pure perfection and seduction. It has become my signature scent over time and is one of the only perfumes I have gone back to for more. The powdery scent is my favorite, and throughout the day, when the notes grow sweeter and floral, it leaves an excellent touch that lingers on your skin until the end of the day. It is a perfume that you can rely on for any special outing or even everyday activities. It keeps me feeling so fresh, and it has a mature scent that gives you new compliments every time you wear it. Forever of the opinion that this is NR's best work!

shery k

so diffrent more loveable ;
powdery, expensive old lipstick scent , sweet not bad sweet i love it more than the poudree version
this is really rouge ,red ,sexy ,sweet

Lamiawitipo

Seduction in bottle. Layered it by accident with Z&V This is her and the result is SUMPTUOUS!

bubblepoppin

This is my gateway drug to the fragrance world. Its floral and warm, the vanilla is not sickening. A sexy daytime fragrance for me, not cloying for sunny days. One of my daily riders for sure

demi1504

If I were to personify this fragrance, it would emulate the essence of Angelina Jolie—captivating, yet delicately alluring. This perfume embodies a subtle sensuality, leaving a lasting impression without overpowering. An elegant choice for those who appreciate sophistication, endurance, and a hint of powdery allure in their scent.

Vickalicious

This is a fantastic powdery, vanillic, musk. It smells like the musk is from ambrette, so it's nice and fluffy. There is a touch of florals that comes through and there's something a bit addictive about this one. The performance on this is fantastic, lasting all day. Very strong like...borderline love!

🤍 Narciso Poudrée 🤍
Aurelien Guichard 2016

❤️ Narciso Rouge ❤️
Nadege le Garlantezec and Sonia Constant 2018

I fell in love totally with these cubes (Narciso line) - brands cozy, soft and subtle yet rich perfumes with NR’s signature musk, like the delicate and more simple clean musk scents as well from “for her” line. These minimalistic bottles are simply beautiful.

🤍 Poudrée opens up with a powdery opulent floral bouquet of white Jasmine and Bulgarian Rose and it’s velvety smooth musky heart makes it so fluffy. It’s creamy, mellow, sensual and it’s clean and cozy in the same time. Poudrée is not fresh and airy like perfumes in “for her” line. It feels that it’s close to the skin but after smelling the clothes next day you notice that the scent it’s persistent and long lasting. The scent has woody base with Vetiver and Cedar. You can’t separate Vetiver here anyway.

❤️ Unfortunately discontinued Rouge is a little bit more powerful and Iris brings a different kind of powdery feeling to it. It’s deeper, lipsticky like, even a little bit plasticy, yet Bulgarian Rose keeps it still very soft, feminine and warm. The concoction is still smooth, fluffy and creamy yet the overall feeling is woodier. The colours of the bottles indicate perfectly the character of the scent.

➡️ These scents are not like “Rosy”, “White floral” or “Iris” scents like you may think. Both are pretty scents, I like them a lot but the flowers are not like I have used to experience them - in natural way. Scents can be as well cloying especially in hot weather. I have noticed that it’s better not to spray them straight away under the nose or sniff them close to the skin, the moderate sillage lingering in the air is very attractive and indulgent though. Imo Rouge and Poudrée are the most gorgeous on clothes. The smell is irresistible and addictive. People seem to find Vanilla accord from Rouge but I don’t agree. It’s rather that cozy soft slightly sweet feeling in the dry down.

Ms._45

Spicy sweet almost menthol candy opening. I get a lot of the jammy red rose. It’s a little bit sweeter than I would normally wear. I’m not usually a roses note girl, but something about red roses seems suitable more so for winter. This is my first winter wearing perfume … I blind bought 2 powdery makeup perfumes for my birthday after researching. This & Putains de Palaces which I like also, but it doesn’t make me feel “pretty” & sexy like I hoped because it’s not a floral perfume. & I wanted something more feminine & floral. This fits the bill. I also find a lot of powdery makeup perfumes like FM Lipstick Rose to be a bit too ‘pink innocent girly’ which isn’t exactly the vibe I was looking for. So this & Putains are in the right vein of sexy & seductive femme fatale in a powdery lipstick makeup perfume … So this is my favorite of this category tried so far. This gives me actually a formal black tie evening vibe similar to Chanel Misia. So I feel like it’s that theater, opera, holiday vibe I want for Christmas. It’s mature, but not too mature. & its sophisticated, elegant & feminine like I was looking for in a makeup lipstick perfume which I just think is a lovely holiday scent profile … It’s different from anything else I personally have smelled also. This is my second NR. I have Ambree which I like for summer, will get more into I think this coming summer … This has excellent staying power with my chemistry personally. I put it on before bed & could still smell 10+ hours later. I don’t know about projection yet. But it’s the first perfume like I might avoid putting on my wrists bc seems strong like I could taste if drinking or eating & have to be careful not to get on my face after sniffing my wrists.

@ SweetEnigmaticSoul, well I think I’m sold after reading your review! I have 2 of his fragrances and I’m in love with them both! I love powdery notes in my perfume a lot! And I was just in Miami to visit my son!!! Keep enjoying your beautiful fragrance. 💜

Neverapeoplepleaser

I'm not sure about this one. I don't dislike it...but definitely not what I was expecting. Its alot more floral for me than it is musk. The iris here is cold and clean, I had envisioned warm and powdery. Although the dry down does get alot creamier and sweeter. I don't really get much rose.
It's a very pretty, very feminine scent. So far I've found it to be quite long lasting.
I think this is signature worthy if it really tickles your fancy. Its cold at the moment and seems to suite that weather, I could also envision this wearing well in the spring. Also quite versatile I think for day and night and various occasions.

ingrid.superstar

Definitely didn’t appreciate this enough after my first tries — ended up trading a travel spray away only to find myself craving it many months later — so I went for a full bottle.

Rouge combines the qualities I liked best in Narciso edp, Narciso edt, and Poudree. From Narciso edp, it borrows that clean/dirty paradox — what starts as soapy and floral eventually becomes an animalic musk, as warm and personal as unwashed hair. From Narciso edt it takes a big, woody, deep-red rose. And with Poudree it shares a powdery, make-up sensibility — sweet vanilla/tonka powder and creamy, waxy florals. All are thick, woody, and creamy in turn.

The iris here is not the usual bready, beery iris of lipstick-like scents (e.g. Lipstick On or Iris Crush), but rather the powdery, woodsy iris of Infusion D’Iris, for example — but paired with sweet, vanillic florals. Perhaps the iris is also responsible for the billowing, cottony musk that is present as well. Again, that clean/dirty thing -- cottony musk and human-body musk play together.

However my favorite quality of Narciso Rouge is that eminently synthetic, atmospheric, dollhead, hot-plasticky musk that so captivated me in Narciso edp. Cedar and vetiver end the show with that wonderful woody, skin-scent that characterizes the other Narcisos.

I wish this lasted as long as Narciso edp which for me is a "two sprays to last the day" kind of fragrance, but I find the longevity of Rouge to be pretty poor.

Editing to add that in terms of overall texture, opacity, and personality, I find this to be really similar to Fleur Musc for Her in the tall hot pink bottle, which I like less than Rouge, yet they bear a family resemblance.

Frenchfragrancelady

For me the best Narcisso ever. I was so surprised by this one but I bought it 3 times, it's truly a pleasure to wear it and people remember it trust me !! I had so much compliment wearing this.

sammyd33d

I'm not someone who likes extremely feminine fragrances - but this one is an exception. It's floral, mature, and sweet - but not cloying and artificial. The iris in here is amazing - and if you love powder-y frags that aren't "old lady with grotesque wallpaper" energy, this one is for you.

SweetEnigmaticSoul

My wonderful long time friend Angel out of south Miami placed me on to this! She raved about it for years and I finally purchased it at the Aventura Mall in Miami, Florida!

This perfume with my body chemistry has stopped several souls in their tracks to tell me how amazing I smell!

I’ll most definitely repurchase this over and over and over again!! Lol ❣️❤️❤️❤️✨✨✨❣️

aulialovegreen

The only Narciso Cube that i love, i like poudree but she's too powdery whereas Rouge has creamy quality in it that makes it not too powdery on my nose.

Rouge is like luxurious perfumed powder, on my body i can feel the tuberose and the iris on a fluffy feminine musk.

Beeboss

This perfume keeps disappearing from all stores and sites in my country, so I decided to get my hands on a bottle, because I fear it might get discontinued! It's a lovely musky floral that has a very flirty vibe 😍
It's timeless and versatile!

aflakes

I really like this...it's soft, powdery, floral, musky and woody. It's definitely a classy fragrance, but I feel like this is a versatile scent and can be dressed up or down a bit (not too much though). I'm testing it out right now for longevity, but I can see this becoming a signature scent for me. Beautiful fragrance!

vixxiimcmlxxxvii

My least favorite out of the cubes that I’ve tried so far. I thought I knew in my brain-nose what this would smell like and I was SO WRONG!

That aside, it’s not unpleasant. By any means! I actually really think my boyfriend will like this on me. Not that I give a shit—I very knowingly began wearing NR fragrances knowing that they wouldn’t catch his attention and I am fine with that, because for once in my selfless life I want to feel comfortable and cozy and clean. I don’t care to feel noticeable or be edible-sexy much. So this cube has more sex appeal than the others, but it isn’t the fragrance of some sort of man eater. Maybe one who is very unsuspecting. Which, honestly, I’ve been a sexpot most of my adult life, and it’s not like that part of me is dead, lol. She’s just…veiled. By t-shirts and sensible undergarments.

WHAT THOUGH, DOES THIS REMIND ME OF?! I can’t figure it out! It feels like I’ve smelled it 100 times. Something violet. My brain is taking me back to a period of maybe like, 2008-10? And also the closest thing I can think of would be a bath and body works scent, absolutely no idea which one, but…it’s going to drive me insane. Maybe something my former mother-in-law wore? I am having this flashback of her handing back my then-infant/now-teenage son and thinking “he smells like her cheap perfume now” and changing his outfit. And this is not that, I don’t smell anything “cheap” in this frag. But there’s a very strong reminiscence to…something. Shoot! 😣

I think there will be a time and place for this to be worn. Maybe in winter it will be best. I know, it’s October, but I still have some time before cold is really a THING where I live. Yeah. It’s just very, very strong in comparison to Narciso EDP or Poudree. Ugh I hate and refuse to admit I’m disappointed, simply because I can’t imagine feeling such a way toward NR. Our secret!

But even as I’ve written this (and re-written to remove some choice words about my former MIL), it’s calmed. This fragrance needs to breathe, at least before it touches *my* nose. Otherwise I’m sent to a place on a street I still pass by all too often, full of resentment as to HOW A WOMAN COULD RAISE HER SON TO TURN OUT THIS WAY KNOWING HE WOULD MARRY ANOTHER WOMAN SOMEDAY. I think once we get past the first 20 mins, I can handle this juice. In doses. And likely in the optimal setting. God, as quickly as I just shooed my boyfriend out to go drink with the boys, I wish he’d come home. Cause I think, for once, I would actually seek his opinion if he were here right now! I am confident he would approve and I would feel a little bit of ease.

As of right now, I’m just grateful I can’t pinpoint what B&BW scent it reminds me of. Because just knowing which one it is could VERY EASILY get the red cube up on Mercari before I give it a fighting chance.

Edit: Sold. Couldn’t get past the violet.

qianqian

Lovely but I think I have quite a few similar ones already

kvaja

This perfume shines on rainy day. It needs humidity and lower temperatures to bring forth the beauty of the tuberose and tone down that sharp lipstick sweetness that it gives off in warm weather.

It's 20 degrees celsius today, it's been raining all day and this smells very sensual, very woman. I mostly get the tuberose, vanilla and musk.

Katelynl88

I am a really big fan of narciso Rodriguez. I have tried pure musc , fluer musc, musc noir , musc noir rose , for her, and rouge . I think that’s it so far . This one is similar to poudre because it shares the same powder type scent . Not baby powder but makeup powder, fluffy body powder poufs, this one is a bit more spicy , almost peppery , the iris and rose really shine through and at first it does smell like a lot of other scents but then it settles down into the soft creamy powdery musk and it’s beautiful . I would have never liked this or poudre even just a few years ago : it’s so weird how your tastes can change so much . Poudre also smells like white florals which I don’t really get here .,

Jernê Knowles

Narciso Rodriguez is a Maison which imbues its creations with a finesse and elegance that those who know the House's fragrances very closely, immediately identify its refined olfactory path, as soon as it touches the skin!

It's funny that here at Narciso Rouge I couldn't identify this identity of the House, not at all! (haha)

This is not so bad, if not strange, because you are surprised with something that, initially, did not meet all your expectations! I confess that I was scared, I was imagining that this Rouge version had come from another House.

The whole fuss is around the bombastic way that the fragrance brings with it in its evolution! She is intense, voluptuous, big and sheer dense (heavy)!

All the flowers that exist here are very mature, already plucked from the ground. It has a lot of make-up touch, compact powder of all varieties and this aroma gets thicker with each passing hour.

Tuberosa starts here with a slightly more tenuous sweetness, which is much more like Narciso Rodriguez, but soon woody notes enter that almost nobody can identify them, leaving the perfume more serious and with a characteristic of milky almonds!

Of all the House's flankers, I believe this one is the most intriguing, due to this condition there, of being, a little/far beyond the curve line, it's innovative, it's provocative, it's Narciso Rodriguez, it's Narciso Rouge!

Rjhuggi

Ok, so with out comparing this to Lipstick On for those who have never had the pleasure, how does it stand on It's own as a lipsticky vibe perfume? 💌

Laurus

I find this to be more similar to Narciso Cristalle. I also have Poudree and that one does not have that blast of sweet as this and even most intense manner, Cristalle has. This has rose and tuberose both sweet, but it does not disturb my thoughts, however I first loved this, now I just like it. Maybe it plays better on the winter. Next day on my clothes I can smell vanilla from this.

AdalynEverly

First Impressions (sample spray):
I feel like I smelled this somewhere, but I can’t exactly pin point where. I think I smelled this on an older woman. I can detect the rose in this one, so Idk why ppl are saying there’s not enough rose in this. Hmmm, I need to finish it in order to give a proper review but I’m gonna give this a 😐 to 🙂 rating. It smells like makeup, but I prefer lipstick on. This is more of a modern smell of lipstick on. However, lipstick on is vintage with an addictive vanillic twist which I loved. I might’ve smelled this on some one that I didn’t necessarily like to be honest. So call me biased.
Edit:
Yeah I’m still not likening this one. I think this is WAY too powdery. Lipstick on was giving 1950’s classy Hollywood starlet. This one is giving 40’s pushy corporate secretary to me. I think bulgarian rose which for my body chemistry has never worked for me. This one smells like too much rose powder.

Summary:
Smells like: rose powder, or rose scented makeup. modern lipstick, makeup, pushy middle aged secretary
Family of: lipstick on (more powdery, less waxy)
Silage: moderate to intimate.

Verdict:
Pass- I’m biased towards makeup on, and I smelled this on someone older than me.

mothtoaflame___

Pretty, powdery, vanilla forward fragrance. Base is insanely similar to HP by Dior for my nose. I even get spice in this. Nice!

Charlotte_

I am not a fan of "girly" fragrances, often I find they are too sweet, floral and smells like old lady. But this I fell in love with immediately! It is perfectly blended with both floral in the opening, before it gets warm and absolutely beautiful. It's non offensive and works all year round, day and evening. Such a good find!

toosimilar

Too sweet tho powdery at the same time
Do not blind buy

rosa silvestre

I hate to be a hater, but all I smell are baby wipes here. Have tested multiple times. I could never wear this personally.

assoula17

OMG I’m in love!! 😍😍 What is this heavenly scent? Where has it been all my life? Can’t stop sniffing it, the more I sniff the more I feel all my stress and worries leaving my body. It’s hypnotizing 😍 can’t believe I’ve wasted all this time loving Narciso edp the white cube and poudree and not bothering with this gem! 💎 gives me Insolence by Guerlain Vibes 😍😍😍

Super sexy in a very subtle way. Smooth, feminine, floral
musk. It is suitable for all seasons and all occassions. Less is more in this case. Many repurchases already. I love it.

jackieoprean

I have both NR & NP and I couldn't decide which one to repurchase so I got the 3oz poudree since I used the 1oz in a matter of a week NR may be my favorite and I will definitely repurchase a back up bottle. I going to really compare the two and see which I love the most and i might just have to have them both in my collection at all times
1 The musk is actually nice in this and it has a powdery vibe just not as strong as the powder vibe in NP.
Just like with NP this one could last a little longer. I tried not to respray to test how many hours I could smell it and I got around 5-6 hours then it was just a whaft here and there but this won't stop me from always having this in my rotation whenever I cant decide what to wear i can always reach for either NR or NP and love it all day
I am curious about the rest of this House although I have heard they are very musky so I wont blind buy unless I find the white cube that one is what I want next based on reviews.

Longevity 7/10
projection 8/10
silage 7/10
overall a LOVE for me just as the NP is!

This has become one of my favorite perfumes. It’s elegant/ classy and cozy. Powdery but not at all old fashioned. It’s creamy and you get that tuberose which adds sweetness to it. I think you can wear it in any season just watch for the sprays so it’s not too overpowering in the heat.

kwisdommeister

Smelled it in a store. to me in short this is: syrupy flower. Nothing powdery to my nose, extremely sweet heavy floral, not photo realistic floral, but just mainly so syrupy. However the tester strip smells amazing the next day, still have it. aand totally went back to purchase a bottle of it.

miewtje

Very soft, delecate, comforting and lipsticky. Slightly powdery but it's not a powdery fragrance by any means. So far all narciso fragrances i've tried have great staying power. They aren't bombastic in any way but they aren't meant to be. It's just right. It's a sheer yet comfy blanket of scent.

Suncica7

When ppl say for ay other, at least designer fragrance that smells powdery I am like- whaaat hahah no no!
The only powdery and creamy fragrances are NR ones, on my skin and to my nose.
This is where I go when i want a powdery perfume, all the others, i do not smell that powder- the shop lady smelled DG red cap on me and said- powdery. I was like, how, where?
I love this one, I owned the Poudree, developed warm cozy and yes, sexy on me, I have the white one, louder, not for everyone and creamy and powdery.
And this one right here- this is playful, inviting, elegant, sexy, refined, loving it a lot, and yes smells like make up. Wonderful.
Of course- here is essential to mention that all the NR fall into their own category.
They all smell CREAMY deep powdery and the best way to describe- like a luxury LOTION not like typical perfume.
I remember 1st time smelling one of these, I was surprised most of all coz it is that creamy but it projects like a perfume, magic really.
About ROUGE... there is iris and it is edgy, it stands out, the scent resembles the Poudree, but overall, this smells so EXPENSIVE and LUXURY. And grown up.

I generally wear either this , creamy, or big florals, nothing fresh and aquatic, when i wanna smell fresh i don'[t wear any perfume just let the laundry speaks for itself.:D
I now its crazy, but perhaps it is a balance- because I enjoy these strong perfumes, so putting one on me for the sake of just freshness, i do not do that, i let my nose relax.

I'm surprised that I haven't reviewed this yet! Let me start by saying that I am a big fan of most NR fragrances. I prefer the cube line over For Her, but even amongst the For Her line, I am mad about L'Absolu! My favorite cube is the lamenably discontinued white one. I have a back up bottle, but want another because I simply can not be without this in my collection.
Anyway, about Rouge. I am typically a big fan of iris/rose makeup scents, and this is no exception. However, I'm sad to say that it didn't quite live up to what I expected. There is a sharpness I detect, which runs against one of the things I love so much in the cubes, which is their cuddly softness. This is not to say that I dislike it in anyway. I enjoy it more than many other perfumes in my collections, including the EDT and EDP from the For Her line. But compared to the other cubes I own, this one is my least favorite. It is more than a Like for me, but ultimately, it doesn't quite cross into Love territory.
I haven't mentioned anything about the composition itself, but that territory has been well covered in the many, many reviews here. I will say that I get better longevity than many, but only if I don't overspray. That's more likely because I become anosmic when I spray too much, so I keep it light so I can enjoy it longer.
When all is said and done, I'm very happy to have this in my collection. The quality is quite good, and I just enjoy having it as part of the cube collection as well as my other NRs.

victoria.mei1992

Very similar to Narciso EDP, but musk is just too strong.

MissMarco

I think this is beautiful. Lots of powdery , lipsticky vibes here with the rose and iris. I find that it seems to layer well with other rose/woody fragrances like gucci guilty absolute pour femme. I know that sounds strange but theres a manliness in the dry down of gucci that rouge mellows and its great ! Perfect for a date or night out . Its my first narciso purchase. I've smelled the for her edp and interested in getting that also.

alternateu

the most generic of the Narcisos I've tried so far...
just lightly sweet floral, vague powderiness. doesn't have that sexy, flirtatious, dirty NR musk I was looking for.
pleasant, sure, but nothing to write home about.
projection is minimal, longevity is average.

SophiaViolette

Intense and sultry floral opening, with a distinctive iris coming first, followed by a lemony, sour rose.
Very quickly the musky white florals comes in playing, tuberose and orange blossoms being some of my favorite, easy to distinguish them.

At dry-down, all the notes are very subtle, the vanilla is a tiny bit present but nothing overwhelming thankfully here, only adding sensuality and warmth to the woody base notes.
The tonka beans and cedar are present, definitely add some dimension.

I expected a little bit more sillage and longevity on skin for the eau de parfum version.

People say it smells like makeup. I dunno what kind of makeup people use. Mine don’t smell that good 😄

It’s sexy (like the color suggests), creamy sweet powdery rose smell. It’s more vanilla and tonka than rose, a little bit too sweet for my taste. Gives me a little headache ☹️
Luckily, like most Narcisos, it projects for about 30 minutes and than sits close to skin in a musky way.

Good but not great.🌹

Eden97

Cozy, warm, inviting and addictive. There's something very familiar and comforting about this scent. Some people describe it as sexy but don't expect anything bold or noir. it is very attractive though

fragileporcelain

This scent is absolutely gorgeous. I got a sample size and i can say it makes you feel like a doll; not plastic but porcelain doll. It's kind of like a makeup scent in a good way, powdery and yummy. I can't stop smelling myself with this. It screams luxury- makes you feel confident but it's still soft and comfortable. It's so pure yet sexy.
Compared to poudree it definitely has more character. It'a so feminine and beautiful i just wish the sillage was better.
Longevity is above average on my skin, sillage is meh. I could buy a bottle of this definitely.♡

shushkin

I've tried the cuddly scent as few times now and never managed to buy a bottle. I love it. I guess I'm used to niche and feel it's a bit mainstream. Silly really.
I wear this and I immediately feel warm, cuddly and alluring. Nothing screechy or confrontational. "Mummy I want a cuddle!"
It all blends together so well. The florals meld so well with the soft fluffy musky. It's not girly at all.
OK, I'm going to press the button. This is one to wear on date night or meeting a possible new love. They will soon want to come in closer for a kiss or a cuddle.
It might be quite commercial these days but it's still well worth having in your fragrant arsenal.
Not bad sillage in this 11 degree room. Longevity above average.

MauveBee93

I was looking forward to enjoying this perfume, but I get a “pickle” note from it that stays pretty prominent for most of the wear. I’ve heard that certain types of sandalwood can register as pickles to some people, and unfortunately I seem to be one of those people! (I’ve had this same encounter with a couple other fragrances during my perfume journey and sandalwood is always the common denominator)

I do enjoy the dry down of this however, it’s a musky and warm scent that has a lipstick/makeup quality to it. But because that pickleness sticks around for 90% of the time I just can’t wear this without being bothered and it isn’t worth waiting several hours to only enjoy the tail-end of this little red potion.

Suncica7

My Narciso obsession started with Poudree years ago, on repeat. Couldn't understand why I was drown to sth that is not that obviously sexy- but even now, when I don't use it anymore, grab the bottle and smell it- smells expensive, money, luxury, Venus, feminity, as if everything I should be and do is be considered about the beauty, enjoy the beauty, consume the beauty, create it everywhere and distinctively in a feminine manner.

Than I moved on to the white cube, and my God, it is all of the above + that sexiness straight in the face, like -yeah I arrived, everyone look at me, that is me smelling insanely good. It has sort of a - Dolce Vita Dior vibe in the opening, screams WOMAN.

And than this one right here- again all that luxuryyyy, that richness , that feminine, sexy, playful, warm, floral, musky and powdery, comfortable yet sensual, gorgeous Unofrtuantely- not decent lasting , but will try it in summer, hope for better projection. Also as Poudree set on fire <3

persimmonism

Extremely elegant, but can get to be cloying. My friend said that this is what you'd wear to a ball, and i imagine if i were a fairy this would be my perfume..
Smells like makeup. Is a non-generic blend of a "generic" category type of perfume, in my opinion. I'd be more than happy to catch a whiff of this on someone else though. I think it can be very beautiful on the right person.

jjluvsm9

Chic essence in a bottle. This fragrance is beautiful and so well blended. It’s actually my favourite Narciso fragrance of them all. A powdery, warm, sweet but not too sweet scent. The vanilla base really gives it great longevity (7 hours on my skin) and a hint of sexiness. The signature brand musk features strongly here and gosh it’s stunning - clean but still plenty of depth. I find this a very versatile fragrance that could be worn any day any time! Love!

Edit: I just bought the 90ml bottle to restock as I love it so much and I heard it’s been discontinued!!

My rating: 9.1/10

ingrid.superstar

Musky, dewy, vegetal rose and iris on top of a heart of creamy vanilla musk. The slight sharpness of cedar and vetiver are present throughout. The more times I wear this (exclusively in snowy weather so far), the more animalic the musk seems; it reads as “clean” at first, but there is also smoldering whiff of human-body warmth that is slightly dirty (similar in effect to NR for Her, but with a different musk profile). There isn’t a bad Narciso flanker IMO, but I prefer Poudree.

Rouge reminds me of smeared lipstick when the clay-like iris meets the sharp, animalic musk. However it’s missing the fruity-sweetness that most other rose/iris, lipsticky scents have.

tanny_ups

This is a nice perfume. However, it does not project too much and it lasts around 3-4 hours, then it becomes a skin scent for 2 hours more . It fades rapidly. I layer it with other rose scents

Dabaoo

My favorite cube. Isn't normally what I go for -- I'm a POAL person. But I get more and more into the scent the more I wear it, which right now is every day. I tried Poudree which is very nice, Ambree which isn't quite me, and Cristal which isn't me at all. The edt version of Rouge is lovely, but it is for others -- I'm not a lily person. So I'll embrace the Rouge edp and be glad that it's there for me to continue to wear and explore.

kj77

Reminds me of the only one 2 .

Keonaaa

Femininity at its finest! This is a real woman in a bottle. She wears 6 inch heels and red lipstick almost all the time. She’s subtle when needed but fierce!

ingrid.superstar

Now that Narciso EDP (white cube) has been discontinued, I’ve been sampling more widely in this line trying to find something close. If you are doing the same, maybe this review will be helpful.

Narciso Rouge EDP - I love the fresh, bright opening! I get a dewy-yet-jammy rose and the lipsticky wax of iris. The rose/iris combo gives a bit of a pink pepper vibe. This lasts for about 30 minutes max, then it dries down to a likable but not stunning musky, powdery, very slightly peppery rose-and-violet scent. Like high quality cosmetic powder plus a creamy vanilla base. The dry-down is similar to Narciso Poudree, but with a lingering rosiness that sets it apart. There is something in this that reminds me distinctly of Narciso for Her Fleur Musc with its clean, pleasant "pencil shavings" (tall hot pink rectangle bottle). Let’s talk about the red screen-siren cube — apart from the mere presence of a rose, I don’t get this packaging at all because I found this fragrance to be very powdery, soft, and polite. I agree with whoever below said that this belongs in a pastel lavender-colored cube.

Narciso Poudree — Best substitute for the white cube so far, BUT there is no true replacement and this fragrance is beautiful in its own right; I feel a little bad evaluating it comparatively. What sets this one apart from the others is a shimmering, very-clean jasmine note…yet with something of the medicinal bite of the original Narciso EDP (white cube). Ah, I can’t seem to escape the comparison after all! Has the warm, balmy, almost-corporeal breathiness of white florals. Delicious dry-down, but not in an edible way. Aptly-named, the powder is right where I thought it would be: in the heart and at the end, smelling like some cream-to-powder wonder-elixir. Vanilla, cedar, coumarin, tonka bean. Fantastic. Strong-ish sillage. Liked it enough to get a full bottle after running out of a 10 ml purse spray.

Narciso EDT (black cube) - A sort of spiky, masculine-leaning version of the Narciso EDP (which could also be worn well by a man, I might add!) I find the peony note a little sharp and over-serious. White cube is like a hug; this is like a warm but firm hand on the shoulder. Could take it or leave it. I like to smell it, but don’t like to wear it because of the harsh beginning phases. By hour 6, though, it smells about the same as the white cube — a creamy, musky cedar remains.

Narciso EDP (white cube) - All-time favorite perfume. My signature scent. Top notes are a bit sharp and overwhelming, but I love it. They have that curious warm/cool mentholated effect that smells comfortingly medicinal. This dissipates quite quickly, though, as the woody, creamy, powdery notes come to the fore. I get mostly gardenia, rose, cedar, and a sort of yummy vanilla/marshmallowy note in the dry-down. Milky and tender, plus interesting synthetic over-tones that smell like plastic doll heads. Also has the musky smell of heat which smells both like my hair-dryer right after I turn it off, and also like pressing my face into my cat's fur -- a warm fur/clean hair scent that is so intimate and intoxicating.

Likilichi

Just roses that burn a trail of nose hairs on their way to giving you a headache.

lubna.oweisat

I have never imagined that this perfume would get my admiration especially because of its colour.I thought it would be very strong. I blind bought it accidentally in white November and I fell in love ❤️. The combination of musk, Tonka beans and iris ..made that deep powdery and woody smell .. Such a warm cloud of happiness 😊 . From the first spray till the cool down after many hours..it is a masterpiece for me. Finally I found my favourite perfume 😍.

Tran Tran

This smells like a beautiful confident successful business woman. Good silage and incredible longevity. I wear a few sprays in the morning and could still feel it after work.

perfumesniffer

I have not found a Narcisco Rodriguez that I can tolerate. All are so strongly synthetic and chemical. I wore NR Poudree for a while before noticing it was bothering my eyes & giving me a headache. NR scents are an absolute assault to my respiratory system. Who the F knows why I bought Rouge. It’s another typical chemical bomb 💣 for me.

BougieGirlShops

This fragrance is a strong "meh" for me. I like it and it's one of those scents I feel like I've smelt it a lot on others in public before. It smells nice, but I wouldn't really care if this was in my collection. Strong powdery sweet rose. There's a deep woodiness to it, which to me makes it a great scent for the more mature set.

rainydays

I have not found a Narciso Rodriguez fragrance that I have disliked. Same goes for Rouge but-- I am not wowed. I think from the name "rouge" I expected something warmer with a little more depth. This is cool, powdery, mildly sweet with the classic NR musk at the core. Might be suitable for someone who wants something between my-skin-but-better and elegant office vibe. Nice but not particularly alluring.

ivanovamariyana97

I love this perfume! Some people say it smells like makeup but I think it more complex than that. I definitely think that it’s a “safe” office or daytime perfume which has a good longevity, however I am not sure if the sillage is very good.

candyxoxo589

I really like this fragrance! I'm a sweet scent type of girl, and this definitely has some slight sweetness to it. In my opinion, it's a spicy, yet powdery scent. It's a very easy going, fall fragrance. I think it's fitting for both day and night and the lasting power is decent, about 10 hours max. It's just so feminine and has me feeling so confident while wearing this!

Lauren32

Hands down the most sophisticated perfume I own. Got a meeting with your boss? Wear this. Job interview? Wear this. Meeting the parents? Wear this. Getting married? Wear this 😝 I couldn't tell you a thing about the notes, just that it smells like CLASS.

chimidoro

For me this is the upbeat, modernized, rosey cousin of Cacharel's LouLou.

My childhood best friend's mother wore LouLou, but at that time I did not realize the homely, familiar scent surrounding this family and their home was a perfume. It was many years later when I wore LouLou myself that the penny dropped.

Tonka is distinctly present here, though not as strong or dry as in LouLou. This is somehow more savoury, salty, and has a definite focus on vanilla and rose, with a deep, warm woodiness. The rose is an alien and unreal, sweet rose. The woodiness is a contributing factor to this particular rose.
At times I've found this too sweet and strong, so I really need to be in the mood for it. When I do get the craving for this one I never think for a second that it's too much. Funny how the desire for a scent can change so drastically from one day to the next, all of the different factors that equate to the perception of a scent in that very moment.
This scent is smooth, sweet and warm. A powdery vanilla, candied rose.

The cube Narciso scents are all gorgeous.

BillyJean

Soft elegant discreet feminine. Perfect.

Yusrayacoubi

I gifted this perfume to my mother (60 y/o) but this can be worn at any age. Is creamy, clean, powdery and projects amazingly in spring and autumn only. If I can describe the scent in a sentence I would say it smells like a hug from your mum in a sunny morning. This is why I bought it for her.

Brooklynjade

Comes alive in the heat. Not in a cloying, overpowering way, but in a soft cloud that clings to you, even in the most oppressive heat. You just smell moneyed, slightly sweet, feminine, and clean. Perfect for summer. I have 4 Narciso musks, and they are all that I reach for from july to september, when it’s just too hot for anything else. Also, would make a great bed time or office scent.

hexed

I made a mistake in expecting Rouge to smell more vintage, it's actually a lot closer to the scent of modern, sweet lipsticks than heavy beeswax and violets and so on. This is dry starchy powder layered with the "gourmand" "creamsickle" smells of M*C, M*ybelline or Ch*rlotte T*lbury - absolutely not meant to be digested, but lip safe, if you know what I mean. So if you enjoy Narciso's standard play on musky notes but crave for a little more sweetness, it should be perfect for you.

Pocahontas94

missloveschocolate

This is a very nice surprise - such gorgeous powdery woody iris with a touch of tonka beans. Everything I like really, feminine but not in a girly, flowery way, more elegant and discreet. If you like Chloe love you’ll like it, they have the same character.

CrazyRussianChick

Musky, powdery, dusty. Together with a color of the bottle always puts an image of a red lipstick in my head.

Perfumerzlove

This fragrance will have people asking what you’re wearing. I had a co-worker walk past where I was sitting & say “I hope this isn’t weird, but you smell AMAZING!”.
You’ll certainly not regret this if you purchase it. <3

Ferra_Verto

Classic Narciso musk with soft yet persistent whiffs of dusty rose and powdery iris. Lightly sweet, cuddly, perfect for spring & summer.
Sillage is good (arms' length), lasts around 5 hours on me.
Definite love.

LauraAD

@HeidiCL - iris in perfume provides a kind of dusty, powdery, woody note, in a nice way! It's like "amber", no actual real life smell, more the smell of a concept :)

HeidiCL

I want this - the notes are intriguing.

But, can anyone answer one question?

IRIS. A lot of perfumes have this listed. I grow irises in my garden, and they don't smell a thing. Nothing. I would really like to understand this note and why it's listed as a note in so many perfumes.

Thanks. 😊

Cherry_Darling

Lovely musky powdery airy sweet. Where is the red? To me red is seductive, ambitious, strong, bold. This is more pink, but, I do like it! One of the best ones of this line.

hamperface

I understand that I have a very different relationship than most people with powder frags..like, I am boggled by what people get from these things. I don't find that near as confusing as I find the association of this scent profile with the color red. Probably most of my blind buys, and those blind buys I've made with which I felt the most safe were RED perfumes. I love red perfumes. Red is an expansive family of colors (Bvlgari Au The Rouge, Burberry Brit Red); some expand my definition(Serge Lutens Fille de Berlin, Boucheron Quatre en Rouge); some don't necessarily fit what red is or could be to me, but I get where marketing or the artist was coming from (Chanel N°1 L'eau Rouge, Hugo Deep Red)..but this.. This might be my only "red" blind buy that I'm totally and thoroughly displeased with.

Powder= sublime seduction? Mystery? Provocation and passion? Seductive? Arousing? Boldly intoxicating heightened and fiery sensuality? These are all associations we make with red, but I must be from a different planet than anyone who associates any of this with powder. That's all language from the marketing spiel from Narciso Rodriguez. What am I missing?

I adore Narciso Rodriguez design, so thank you to Cessarine whose comment that this may not be a great representation of the line gives me optimism that I may like the others even though this one is a hands down dud for me:P

Yessamin

An addictive combination of vibrant tonka and a complex floral bouquet around a warm heart of musk.

EdP

eva.daisy.88

Tried it on a paper tester today, such a delicate powder flower scent 😍

Cessarine

I’m not sure I think this is from the same family of Narciso scents. I don’t really get the musk or any lipstick 💄 (which I’m a fan of) It’s just a bit generic smelling on me, not a stand out arm sniffer, nothing to write home about.

Vellocet

I blind bought this because it has powdery notes as well as vanilla, musk and tuberose. But no.. I didn’t get any of these notes. It has a vintage smell, leaning to grandma perfumes.. I can’t pick up any of the notes to be honest. The opening is a bit sharp and synthetic. It’s not bad but it is quite misleading and the longevity is very poor. If you like powdery perfumes try poudrée from the same brand instead

bajablast

Stunning. Such a classy take on a vanilla perfume

LittleMissYellow

IN LOVE. One of my absolute favourite scents for every occasion but especially special occasions and important events. It's just so feminine, powdery - but mildly so, timeless, beautiful. A lot of passer-bys asked me on various occasions what perfume I'm wearing. Which is always a compliment everyone loves getting I'm sure 👌🏻 I've worn this to work a couple times and my boss fell in love with it 😆 the base/woody notes isn't overpowering at all, but is like the back bone of this scent and it really compliments the musk perfectly, the iris is amazing mixed with the Bulgarian rose so it ends up being a slightly floral powdery moment. I don't get much of the Tuberose or Orange Blossom which I don't mind. However they do pop in a little during the initial spray. But all I know is that this is going to be in my collection forever haha. I recommend this to everyone to try at least once!! 11/10 for sure.

Murmur123123

All the reviews I had seen on Rouge made me think that this is an ultra feminine and quite sexy perfume. Upon wearing it a few times (from a blind buy), I think it is feminine but not the "sexy" kind of feminine. The floral notes in Rouge are different from those in Poudree, but the two have a similar vibe - very powdery (think of fancy lipsticks, make-up powders) and quite vanilla. Projection is weak, and lasting power is not great either. It sits quite close to the skin, and to me it is feminine and graceful.

Controlledbyscent31

This is the first NR I want to buy
Super feminine and sexy the Bulgarian rose in this reminded me of OSM from MFK super sexy and osm is my favorite scent so of course I'm going to be purchasing this one 🤩
I would wear this all year round personally for everyday wear.

BebeLaBeaux

This makes me feel so classy and sexy! I'm a big fan of powdery scents and this is one of the best in my opinion. I've seen people state that it smells like lipstick, which I agree with, but in the best way! Its how I imagine an old Hollywood starlet would smell. I also love the bottle! If you want to smell like a beautiful, sophisticated lady, this is the one!

Ninalovesclassy

My all time favourite all occasion, all weather, day to night, church to wedding to sexy date, club to mauntain (okay, thats too much), all everything scent. Smells amazing on me, tons of compliments from both men and women, I adore it, hands down my all time favourite.
Its been a signature scent for me since it came out and its a forever fragrance in my collection.

blovesperfumes

smells like old makeup, especially lipsticks. i don't hate smell but it's not something i wanna smell like.

GhostFleur

Smells like a much softer Carolina Herrera CH 2007 sans the leather.

Patricia353

Sweet Baby powder in a bottle, easy to wear, I love it 👌

sibaraa

As much as i see the hype of this NR line. I still finda little weirdness of a smell in some of their fragrances especially this one. It had a plasticky note that i couldn't bypass.

Balletflowers

I have a full 50ml bottle of this up for swap or sale, US only.

Emli94

Whenever I wear this it makes me feel elegant and sophisticated. To me this perfume is timeless. I can see a beautiful woman in the 1920s Europe smelling like this and I can see myself wearing this 40-50 years from now just as well as now (I’m in my late 20s). Makes me want to wear red lipstick and a dress in a classic cut. I imagine wearing it for a late dinner after having had a bath in a beautiful bathtub in a French boutique hotel somewhere in Paris.

demhayerawsah

This is my latest purchase from Narciso Rodriguez and honestly I have not yet been disappointed!
I am a huge fan of Narciso EDT (the black cube) which is now sadly discontinued and folks online rate Narciso Rouge as a good replacement. Narciso EDT has a dark moodiness that is simply not found in Rouge - so it is not quite a replacement. BUT Rouge is a winner in its own right!

It is a perfume you have to wear confidently yet at the same time, it gives you a confidence boost too! I think it is a more "wearable" version of Samsara - they are somehow related. Both are beautiful, sexy fragrances. One can wear this perfume all year round and it is versatile but unique.

Although Narciso Rouge has been around for a number of years now, I recently found a great deal on a gift set. I am thrilled by my purchase and can't wait to buy my next NR perfume!

Nikkafragrance

This is heaven in a bottle for my senses. It has all the notes I love - rose, tuberose, iris and vanilla. The must is potent in the beginning, but shortly afterwards gets softer. It's not that medical musc, which reminds me of hospital, just super cozy musc. Also Rouge is a very sexy perfume. Great performance. I discovered a new signature.

szimancsi

Where do I begin?? This is the fragrance I reach for if ever I'm feeling anxious or need some encouragement, when I'm getting cozy, going to bed, or need a little pick-me-up throughout the day. I wear this in the daytime, and I wear it at night...when it rains, and when it shines (though it does feel a bit more special when worn on a cooler, cloudy/rainy day)! Something about Narciso Rouge is just so comforting, so lovely - but with a pinch of sensuality - and I can't. Stop. Craving it. I see people comparing this to a makeup scent, but I feel like that's a very common general description of fragrances containing powdery notes and in reality, Narciso Rouge is so much more than that.

The opening is a bit sharp but I honestly really enjoy it, and although this fragrance doesn't list any, my nose picks up on some type of fruity accord upon initial blast. Once it mellows out, it's like you're walking around in a luscious, soft cloud...surrounded by a symphony of notes that bring back fond memories, but it also feels so very "now" (if that makes sense?). This isn't a girly scent, it's womanly. I read someone's review mentioning something along the lines of this feeling like a warm hug, and yes, that's 100% accurate. But alas, it goes beyond that: it's got some sex appeal. How strange that a fragrance can make you feel both comforted and sexy at the same time! It definitely gets my serotonin flowing LOL

This has definitely been my go-to in the colder months - since it's a newer addition to my collection, I have yet to wear it in the spring or summer. I can imagine this potentially feeling a bit stuffy if you live in a climate that gets hot and humid, but either way, it's worth it to give this fragrance a spin. This wasn't LOVE at first sniff, only a strong like... but then I couldn't stop thinking about it so I caved: purchased a full bottle, and the rest is history!

Received a sample of this one, the first thing that came to me when I sniffed it on my skin was pencil shavings then it got a bit better with the floral notes peeking through. It is really powdery, I saw someone comparing it to the scent of old school makeup and I think that's pretty close. I will say that I can still smell it faintly on my arm 12 hours lately so the longevity is pretty crazy and it has developed in to a quite pretty intimate skin scent that I quite enjoy. Sadly this is just not a scent for me but I can see why some people really enjoy it.

This feels like I'm wearing Houbigant Quelques Fleurs L'Original, which I wore regularly about 20 years ago. (I think there's a bit of the ORIGINAL Lutèce haunting me as well. I guess it has a Houbigant aura). It's powdery, feminine, rosy, and ethereal. It's like an updated of this legendary perfume. This doesn't have carnation, thank god. I'm not sure I can say it smells like Quelque Fleurs, but it triggers something rosy and dreamy in my brain that Quelque Fleurs used to trigger. I hadn't thought of Quelque Fleurs in so so long. It used to collect compliments like candy. Now I want to smell it again.

Queen of torts

Sexy makeup compact.

mamufa

Elegant, feminine, sex and CLASSY.
Stays forever. Pure love.
Not a blind buy.

mariboo

Fresh and cool. Great for everyday wear.

LOST_HORIZON

Narciso Rouge edp is a very elegant iris with musk and woods. She has a feminine quality and she has an intelligent woman quality.

It is an exquisite fragrance when you are a quite natural person. They are very complete musks, even somewhat complex musks but they dress you very chic, but it is not a superfluous perfume even if it is light and graceful.

You really have to have personality to carry it, if it fits with you it becomes your skin. Narciso Rodríguez's musks are not easy, they are powerful and unique.

petrawebb

When I smelled this on me I was immediately transported to walking through the perfume counters at Saks or Nordstrom as a child.

Perhaps this is because as I was growing up, department stores were spraying a similar scent everywhere, but to me Narciso Rouge is ubiquitous, and what I would've pointed to as a kid if asked what I thought "perfume" was.

It is pretty, though, and heavy in a good way. Is it tart and powdery. Well-blended. Perhaps it is the rose, but there is something in here that reads as mature or even "old-lady," though I detest that sort of assessment. I think powder and rose have become synonymous with "old-lady" in the perfume world. There is an enjoyable sourness and a sharpness that rests on top, but the powder still dominates for me.

Scentedalterego

Powdery rose on a tonka-woody base. One of the few powdery scents I crave for. The powdery notes here are coming from the musk mostly, it's not a very irissy perfume in my opinion, it's warmer. Envelops you like a soft, sweet and alluring cloud that lasts all day. I wouldn't say it gives femme fatale vibes, more attractive, seductive and pulled together.

I prefer this over the white cube (too woody and cold), the black edt (didn't like it at all) and the poudree. Poudree is actually very similar, but has prominent jasmine while this doesn’t and is less warm and sweet. Between the two I prefer Rouge.

Szilvita

This reminds me so much of my granmom! She must have had some sort of perfume that's so similar to this one. Either from Avon, Vanderbilt fenjal or maybe it's just a deo spray. I think my mom has had it too. (edit: found out it's a cheap one called "Charme" from Bradoline.)

Musky, powdery, floral, scent that is soft to the nose but very intense at the same time. Not a bad scent, and actually it is very longlasting on paper! (I can smell the blotting paper from the day before, just by having it on the table.) I Just cannot make myself wear it.

Charlie bowie

Smells exactly like the inside of a bag full of makeup buildups and other residue. I wore this on a hot day, big mistake, it was very sharp and plastic-y. But somehow this is what I magine Avril Lavigne's leather jackets smell like.

thistle

I adore this. I purchased a few small samples recently and this perfume was one of them. Definitely quite mature, and the woods definitely come out to play after a while. I intend to get a full-sized bottle in the future.

fitbyshel

I'm crazy about this scent! It smells to me like a more subdued JHAG Lipstick Fever with a powdery opening. I'm quite pleased and LOVE it. It works for both day and evening. If you are fond of lipstick scents you will love this one.

monamostafa212013

Intoxicated by the charm of this fragrance!! i feel like wearing a mini red dress while wearing red lipstick and just feel super seductive! the lovliest powdery scent ever made! longevity and sillage are amazing as well.

Christinageor10

Absolutely gorgeous! I have both this one and the Poudrée version and while they are quite similar, I am still happy to have both. I'm loving this as the weather cools down as it is very comforting, while being seductive.

This one opens with iris and rose which give it a more intoxicating scent than the other cubes. I love the subtle tuberose in the mid to dry down. I get the sweetness of the vanilla and tonka and everything is so perfectly blended that it is creamy and smooth and the notes do become more identifiable the more I wear it. I feel very polished, sexy and confident when I wear this. It is absolutely full bottle worthy, but not a safe blind buy. 9/10 😍❤

MineFujiko

This is expensive scented paper in a bottle. Powdery mature scent.

hijoebye

I've had 2 different blotters of this and I found myself obsessively going back to smell it both times.
At first it's a bright floral and very feminine then dries down to a creamy vanilla with woody undertones. At this point I feel it could lean unisex. This stuff is strong, I could smell this on the blotter days later from across the table. Narcisco makes great quality perfumes for reasonable prices. I recommend this one!

*loves_shoes*

If you like amber fragrances you will like this. It’s a floral, slightly powdery amber. Lovely.
The rose, tuberose and iris are well blended and give an overall floral scent. The vanilla and wood comes up quickly to give a lovely depth. The rose becomes a bit brighter as you wear it.
I don’t get any of the bad industrial vibes etc that others have noted, to me this is just lovely. Yes it’s a little soapy/powdery, but it’s clean and just nice. Lovely dry down due to the great base notes.
Would suit all seasons, day or night. Maybe not great in super high heat (but I live in the uk so all is good haha).
A safe blind buy.

Edit: dries into a sweet vanilla, still lovely.

MiaKlark

Out of all the narsico's I've tried this is the soapiest (For reference I've tried For her EDT, EDP, Ambree, L'bsolu and noir)
I don't get much sexy-vibes from it or vanilla unfortunately. It's a very clean musk..you do get a bit of florals but it leans quite soapy. It is a bit vintage but still youthful. It's confusing but it works
I didn't find it at all as advertised and it was not what I expected but I've warmed up to it.

I think I'll keep my bottle for hot days cause it really is a beautiful clean musk once you get around to it

Sanrio

I decided to revisit my sample this winter (I tried it last May and didn't care for it.) My experience is the same, there's something in it I don't like.

I can acknowledge that this smells "nice" but still find it scratchy and cheap smelling. I know one could compare a number of clean musks to detergent, but this really does smell like the cheap packets you buy at the Laundromat in a pinch.

Even though it's sweet, it smells a little industrial. It's a miss for me, not something I would ever want to smell like.

Lucija_01

this perfume smells so nice and I think I would wear this anywhere, at home or when you wear something elegant 💅🏼❤️

twiztidladii

Very potent and intense rose fragrance. Not for the faint of heart.

Intrepid-Taste-1111

I shouldn’t like this - I almost never go for red, high femme musks - but this is nice! sweet, powdery, with polite sillage and good staying power. personally I’d wear this as a date night fragrance. I picked up my bottle on sale at the rack, just out of boredom and curiosity, so I’m pleased. love the bottle too, it looks chic on my shelf

ingeneuxo

-Opens 99% similar to Narciso Poudree.
-Dries down leaning much more fruity-floral, with a slight tartness to it.
-You probably don't need both. (-)

Khelish

I think this is a serious, intense kind of scent. Very feminine and very mature... not really a good match for me. Not at all playful. It's certainly an attractive scent with a red lipstick, warm skin, refined feel to it. But I think there are a lot of scents that fit under that category and this one doesn't really stand out to me, personally.

KylieBooFace

I liked this when I first tried it, now not so much. The bottle is gorgeous aesthetically though. I placed this in the "had" category for me (which includes fragrances I do not use except for decoration).

Czill

Tested today on blotter. Beautiful light sexy sweet but not to sweet scent. To my nose quite different to other Narcisos.
It revoked strong memories of my teenager years, swcondary school and clubbing. I immediately knew it must be a copy of something super popular back in 2005. Quick thought. What did my colleagues wear!? Must be Amor Amor. Luckily, good old Amor Amor was still there, just two shelves below Narciso. Verdict: Narciso Rouge is a dupe! It’s slightly less fruity, not that sweet but generally the same vibe.
I rather stay with my less girly Narciso Edp and Poudree - these feel more like me.

Jolinxjojo

A fresh, sexy soft fragrance. Sweet, powdery, with a hint of fresh laundry. Feminine and perfect for work or daily use

emmascents

Tried a sample of this and I'm seriously considering putting in an order for the biggest bottle possible - this is a beautiful, feminine, powdery, sweet perfume with a beautiful dry down and fantastic longevity on my skin. When I was wearing the sample I had so many compliments! Can't beat a Narciso musk, very comforting and cosy.

iverson_lyon

Heavy perfume, different than most. More mature femme fatale vibe. Serious no bulls** vibe. Don’t reach out to it as much as I deserves, I guess I need to be in a certain mindset to do it. Definitely not your everyday office friendly or lunch date kind of perfume. Definitely unique thought.

Aqua<3

this is one of my favorite winter and fall perfume. The perfume fragrance gives out a warm cozy sensation to the air around. The scent sits on my skin and on clothes throughout the day. I wouldn't wear it on bright sunny day but prefer more on cold temperature.

Eugenia Olesen

Very nice pleasant scent. Freshly sweet, velvety and soft like good suede. My favourite from Narciso

Estelamusic

Mfk a la rose was my summer Sunday Sotd. Now headed out to family dinner with this on. It’s a perfect pairing. Navy blue slip dress, sandals, red rose in my hair. Perfection for a breezy California dinner out

LauraAD

Slightly sweet, creamy, warm and cosy, musky delight. Slightly "make up" dry down from the rose/iris mix, but hardly noticeable when lost in the beautifully balanced warm musk. Smells sexy and classy all at once, and I always get positive comments any time I wear this, even from strangers. One of my all time favourites. Lasts forever too, I can still smell it on my skin after 12h, and if I spray it on my hair it lasts until I next wash it.

I've also made the discovery that when layered with Rochas Femme it creates something out of this world so I recommend anyone who has both to try it!

fyetan

A pretty and sweet musk, done the way that Narciso does all of his (they just smell so nice!), but with a touch of incense/resin/woodiness that must be the iris and cedar.

I prefer the Poudre which is sweet without the edge.

patxaran

For all your opaque bottle problems...here is what an unused 50ml size bottle of this fragrance weighs
in sealed box 332g
full bottle with cap 302g
full bottle without cap 268g

Narciso Rouge is a somewhat generic red scent - just about the shorthand of what a contemporary fragrance that was designed with the concept of "red" and a female target-group in mind is supposed to smell like.

The core is a rose-iris combo around which there is a quite a lot of vanilla, sandalwood and musk. On the edges I can smell some tonka - the orange blossom and tuberose were not too prominent on my skin for the first few hours. However, around hour 4 Narciso Rouge changes into a wonderful, powdery floral creaminess (maybe the tuberose?) that might not be unique, but is very well executed. From around hour 5 onwards it changes into a smooth, soft vanilla that lingered on my skin forever.

I don't feel that Narciso Rouge has the potential to become a classic. However, it does what it is supposed to do and is not bad at it.

I can see that fragrance on women from their 20s to their 40s - or even on older teens if they want to feel mature and sexy. Despite definitely having a female costumer in mind, there are also men who can wear it. In this respect Narciso Rouge reminds me of Deep Red by Hugo Boss, a scent I wore all the time in my teens.

Narciso Rouge has a slightly above average sillage - it is not a monster, but very noticable and lasted on my skin for more than 8 hours. This is not for me, but if you want to spend some money on a well-rounded red fragrance that won't surprise - but also not offend - anyone, just give it a try.

Quiel

I'm looking for a subtle cosy "at home" Narciso to complete my collection. I already have Fleur Musc and Ambree and both are already dedicated to certain occasions (I love it when every happening, mood or celebration comes with a scent). I hoped for this one, as the square black Narciso EDT seems discontinued (which seemed a great candidate as it's a tuned down Fleur Musc to me, studying the notes). And this one will definitely look great next to the coral and magenta bottles.
I dislike the poudree as it's too sweet on my skin. And I don't like peach so For her EDP is not my match as well.

So I bought a 2ml sample of this rouge handsome one...
Unfortunately the opening is extremely sharp. Even just one spray. It's bitter like the zest of a blood orange (like the beverage crodino) and I can actually taste the bitterness. I'm not quite sure what I smell, for at least 15 minutes, but it's very unpleasant.
However after 30+ minutes, the warm sweet & sexy dry down is to die for. It mixes with my skin like it's always has been and supposed to be there. I seems a complete different scent. The extremities have never been this obvious.

Still I'm not sure whether to purchase this one. I think I have to elaborately test Narciso for her EDT. I love it when a scent "matures" and becomes your second skin. But sometimes I really want to smell good and "just like me" instantly.

AnnaElli

2nd NR I tried and unfortunately it's a no for me. Too powdery for my liking. Sweet and musky with quite of a lot of woody notes in the dry-down. Otherwise I'd say it is quite a sophisticated smelling perfume, the name is quite on point.

grapefruit352

It does not reminds Kenzo Amour. Kenzo Amour- is a spicy creation, truly a soothing spicy bomb. (in a good way! It is hard to find anything like Kenzo Amour).
While.. Narciso Rouge is again mostly the musk..all the scents of Narcisco Rodriguez, mostly is just about the musk and they remind only each other inside of its line..
Here in Rouge, at first, comes out pure musk and hits the nose (smells like a hair spray). Then, after awhile, it comes out a scent of an old lip stick (For to like Rouge, you have to be fond of a pomade scents). P.S: I have been searching for the perfume with the prominent note of an iris, but here it is only in the top notes (listed..) and that is why, of course so fast it is evaporating, almost like non-existent. For the prominent iris note I need to go for something else, where iris listed in the middle notes or base notes.:)

nohakaffe

PHENOMENAL. nothing much to say except ive never smelled anything like it. incredibly comforting. super unique, but not very girly which is what i like. still its perfect.

03/02/22 i FINALLY got a 30ml bottle and i couldnt be happier. that slightly sweet powdery scent is just amazing. i got a sample back in 2019 so this is kind of a nostalgic perfume too. im sad i have to wait til fall to wear it!

CygneNoire

Smells like straight up white musk on me. It's hard to wear so I pair it with Acqua di Gioia to complement it.

Aikipy

This is GORGEOUS! Powdery, creamy, a bit musky, but not too much - definitely the least musky out of all Narciso fragrances that I’ve tried. It’s so cozy and comforting! I know it’s supposed to be sexy and a night time scent, but for me the creaminess with the bit of rose and the lipstick-y, makeup-y scent makes it cozy and comforting.

tryhardcomplex

A veryy powdery iris scent that's really nice and simple. I got a lot of compliments on it and the wear was pretty decent lasting up to 3 to 4 hours. I got bored of it really fast.

I found out about Narciso Rodriguez over Reddit, I didn't pay any attention to it until then. I wanted to test the White Narciso, because that was suited for office, but instead I fell for the Rouge version. It is a different scent, reminds me of a city woman, who can be so versatile, but prefers to remain a strong but feminine presence. It's a sophisticated scent, I really enjoy it and don't regret buying it. It's suited for spring/fall, and evening, not necessarily daytime.

RachelSeun

This fragrance reminds me of Kenzo’s Amour. There is a powdery, sweet vanilla scent that sits close to the skin but smells so inviting and comforting it just makes you want to bury your head into your clothes and feel cosied up in front of a fireplace. It’s not too sweet, it’s not too powdery and it does not overwhelm with the florals notes - it’s a light and gentle blend so beautifully done (and the bottle is so pretty too!).

diddilybop

loving this one! i've had trouble with narciso rodriguez's fragrances (specifically the tall bottles) in the past with my skin chemistry, but this one, as well as the original in the white cube, are just soooo gorgeous.

i'd describe narciso rouge as the romantic and more inviting sister, whereas the original is the chic and enigmatic one. rouge opens with soft & warm florals, and then develops into sweet notes of vanilla and tonka bean to create a more approachable perfume. it’s also the least musky of the flankers. i can see narciso rouge being a versatile fragrance that can be worn throughout the year, where you gotta go easy on the spraying in the summertime.

dang it fragrantica, why you gotta make me add another lovely perfume onto my want list?

Coquita

Out of the two Narcisos I've tried on my skin so far (the other one being Poudreé), this one is the one I like the most. The opening is a beautiful mix of powdery iris and rose, which smells like a modern version of Vol de Nuit from Guerlain. I never got the musky middle phase, and instead, directly jumped to a woody-vanilla dry-down beautifully supported by a very soft tonka bean accord. It's a lovely scent that stays close to the skin and has a mid-range duration of 5-6 h. I can see this as a versatile fragrance for a very feminine person, who could wear it almost anytime, except for very humid summers and formal occasions. Oh, and did I mention that the bottle is really something? Although I'd named this "Narciso Pervenche" because there's nothing I associate with red in this fragrance.

7/10

mirenaf

Unfortunately things didn't work out.
It comes too sharp at the beginning. I'm looking for creaminess and softness, while Narciso Rouge is not that at all ... Maybe the cedar sends it in another direction, which I had to anticipate before buying it blindly. Anyway. It's not my perfume, but people who are not looking for a creamy rose - a good choice.

kelario

Although I can see myself wearing this during all seasons, I definitely feel like this perfume is leaning more towards the perfect, no-fuss daily autumn scent because of that warm, woody and comforting cedar note coming through. It evokes a feeling in me of being wrapped up in a thick, freshly washed fleece blanket by the fireplace, sipping on a hot coffee or apple cider. Coziness galore! Wow! Stunning fragrance, indeed.

astrakan

I love the opening of this. It's more powdery than the Poudree, but then as it dries down it's just one big disappointment. The dry down really reminds me of a perfume someone close to me wore in the 90s-00s. I evokes a bit of nostalgia, but I also find it very synthetic and not something I'm longing to wear. If Rouge would keep the iris and the rose throughout the wear I would maybe even love it since it starts off so pretty. I'm glad I never impulsively bought this just based of the top notes!

lapis1227

I wanted to love this, but it's a scrubber. The notes listed here are gorgeous but somehow this comes off warm and spicy and makes me nauseous.

anidamasceno

This is so pretty. The scent I choose to wear on my wedding day.
I have a sample of the EDT and they are very similar, but this EDP is a bit sweeter and performs better.

Elegant, feminine, classy. If this fragrance was a woman, she would be Marie Seznec (RIP) in the 1980s.

bluejellyfish444

It has a wonderful musky / clean base, which I've noticed is characteristic of all Narciso Rodriguez fragrances. It's powdery in a "makeup scent" way, reminding me of lipstick or a bag of cosmetics. Great sillage and longevity.

diana.tyler

I bought it in Moscow in a special package, with nano-spray!
This is something beautiful!

This is what Sharon Stone smelled like in the movie Basic Instinct......

lmnsvgz

Stronger and more grown-up than Poudree. Also a bit sweeter. Poudree in high heels and red lipstick.

chelseamurdock

Ok first of all, the packaging with that minimalist bright red cube is absolute perfection. Now onto the scent - it’s honestly not what I was expecting, which is neither a good nor bad thing. It’s slightly spicier than I had anticipated. I do wish it was a touch sweeter and creamier, but as it’s settling into my skin it is warming up and the edges are softening. For some bizarre reason, it reminds me a tiny bit of Versace Crystal Noir in the opening although the notes are totally different. I’m surprised there aren’t more spicy notes listed like pepper because I definitely get a slight peppery note. So far on my skin, I can smell spicy and powdery musk, rose, pepper and cedar notes with the slightest hint of vanilla. I do detect that lipstick/makeup smell, too, which doesn’t bother me.

I will play around with this fragrance more. I just received the 30ml bottle in the mail so it may need to sit and settle a bit. This is definitely a cold weather/evening scent for me. It projects a more mature aura. It also smells quite unisex to me - at least, on my skin. It does have a sexy and sensual quality to it for sure, as many have noted. So far, I like it but I don’t love it. I think if I layered it with a basic one-note vanilla fragrance to bring out a touch more sweetness, I’d love it. My opinion may change as I wear it more though. :)

Update: I added a spritz of The Body Shop’s Vanilla EDP over Narciso Rodriguez Rouge and it brought out a touch more sweetness and creaminess in the fragrance for me. I love it layered with just a touch of vanilla. :)

Agnes81

One of my absolute favorites. Iris, musk and tonka dominate for me and creates this beautiful powdery, slightly spicy, slightly vanilla-sweet scent that is skin-like but still has presence. I wear it all year round for evenings out and for work. It’s sexy in a grown up, powerful - but not overpowering - way. And you can still wear it in the office. When I wear this I feel I can conquer the world. It lasts all day on my skin and projects gently.

llamasinpajamas

i wanted to like this, but alas... Narciso Rouge smells way too harsh and sickeningly plasticky on my skin. it pierces my nose - in a bad way - so much it makes me gag. i can't smell any of the floral notes and i would never describe it as "warm". it's a big fat no from me

Mariamaija Amélie

Mmmm. Powdery, sweet, gentle sexiness in a bottle. Sometimes powder notes in a perfume scratch my nostrils in a weird way, as if I inhale ..dust - if that makes sense. In NR Rouge the powder is so soft it caresses my lucky nostrils instead of the usual scratching, and it gives this wonderful sweet scent a blurry, sensual sophistication I really appreciate and LOVE. So unique, and I really do like the bottle a lot. It may be a little "chunky", but the colour matches the juice inside: red for seduction and passion. The passion part here isn't the violently dynamic passion; it is the subtle, but still strong and everpresent flow of passion you feel swirling in your blood stream, but only show in sporadically, suggestive and teasing hints here and there. I think I would wear this all year around, but maybe not on a very hot summer day. On a summer night though....

JD.Berg

This is a mature, feminine perfume. It’s also an all rounder. Could be worn in any season and will smell just as pleasant. The only drawback though is the longevity. It has to be sprayed generously and reapplied every 2-3 hours. It fades real quick and it’s a bit frustrating. Could be worn on dates as well as to work.

cookygirl

This is not my usual cup of tea: it's thicker and muskier than scents that I normally gravitate to. However, I was searching for something warmer for winter: I like powdery and woody scents - it's just the musk that I was nervous about. I read somewhere that Rouge was a good gateway scent for people like me who don't have the highest tolerance for musk, but who nevertheless want to do some experimenting in that direction. So, I found a travel size bottle of this for next to nothing and I took the plunge.
Well, basically I am enjoying this scent and I don't find the musk intolerable at all. It's balanced nicely by the woodiness. What I am loving however is the opening: the iris and rose are a gorgeous combination and yes, so lipsticky as others have described. The top notes really are my favorite stage of this scent's evolution. There's something retro about it too. I think someone up-thread said something about vintage Loulou? Well I totally agree. There's a chord here that does evoke the Loulou of yesteryear.

Warmthandlight

To me, this is 100% the middle-aged corporate woman, who still wears nylons and skirt suits. Her signature red lipstick somehow always ends up on her teeth, and the sound of her clacking kitten heels follows after her along with this headache-inducing scent trail. That kind of woman holds a special place in my heart, but I definitely don’t want to smell like her.

Granted, I’m not a musk fan. I think musk smells like someone put on a 40 year old sweater from a 100 year old cupboard, and really all I get from this is musk. Musk and your grandma’s rose rather than the brighter rose that tends to be used nowadays (think Delina). So, I’m guessing that’s what’s so off putting to me in this scent, but either way it’s a strong pass, and I would strongly advise against blind-buying no matter how many YouTubers go on about how great it is!

lechickpea

What is this magical musk note that Narciso uses in their cube fragrances? I can't get enough of it. This is my very favourite of the entire line. It's like surrounding yourself with a warm, feminine, powdery blanket. There's definitely rose here, but honestly don't spend too much time analyzing the note breakdown- when it comes to Narciso you need to experience them on the skin. It's so unbelievably pretty and inviting, the type of cozy scent that draws people closer to you. I will always have a bottle of Narciso Rouge in my collection. Love love love.

Naomie

First I liked it then I disliked it straight after I bought it and sniffed it more then 2-3 times. I’d say it’s like a bad neighbour, first you kinda like them but the more you get to know them the more you dislike them.

When I first sampled it I liked the boldness and the energetic opening but it quickly grew on me and became overwhelming and sickening.

I cannot smell any of the floral notes, and it’s very much the style of CH- Good Girl. If I close my eyes and smell this perfume it reminds me of one of those luxurious room spray we used to have in the restroom.

I wouldn’t recommend to buy it unless you are in love with it and you keep returning to the shop just to spray it on. For me it’s one of the biggest no.

Happyme2009

I will start with "I love this" so you know it's going to be a positive review. Well, throughout the years I bought not all, but many versions of anything that came from Narciso Rodriguez. The reason was my sister. She loves the original For Her edt, and edp, and all the others, and every time I smelled them on her I fell in love too, so I went shopping. However none of them sat nicely on my skin, and I swapped each and every one I bought. And then I smelled a sample of Rouge edt and felt charmed. I wore it, and it didn't turn soapy or sour on me. But could not find it, so I bought the Rouge edp instead of . And it's even better! granted I am a sucker for lipstick kind of scents. This reminds me of Lipstick On from Maison Margiela, but it's drier and stronger. The rose and iris mix wonderfully with the musk and the hint of vanilla gives it sweetness without ever getting close to gourmand territory. The vanilla is woody, not foody, and the musk is not too clean. It projects well in the beginning but that doesn't last long. When sprayed generously it has good projection .The bottle is simple, cubic, red, elegant. Finally a Rodriguez I love! Highly recommended to anyone who had anything from this house and didn't get along with them, give this a chance.
Edit : waiting for my car to be done a young man, probably much much younger than me, came to ask me : what perfume are you wearing ? It smells so beautiful and expensive ! Lol ! I like it , I said .... oh , I love it too ! he answered . I smiled under my mask and walk away , catching a glimpse in my peripheral vision of him looking ....

Victoria Muschka

This on my skin translates a chemical, waxy, coconut smell. I do not like coconut in fragrance and it probably why this is making me feel like I have to wretch. I am not smelling any of the floral notes within this scent . On my skin it is a stale, chemical coconut and beeswax scent.

Science&Scents

I sampled this for a while before buying a full 100mL bottle.

At first, it read as cold: sharp spice and sweet musk. I was really thrown off because I heard so many people describe this as warm and date-night worthy. I shelved it and thought, "not for me."

I came back to it and then couldn't stop coming back to it. This is the break I need from super sweet, dense autumn/winter gourmand frags. It is heavy enough to wear in the cooler times but not so heavy that there's a risk of asphyxiation. The rose, cedar and vetiver give a richness and elevation of sorts. A fine blazer and plunging neckline--suggestive but not vulgar.

She's not much of a projector--sits heavy a couple inches off the skin. Longevity could be better...I get 5-6 hours before she's completely gone.

It's a strong like for me this season.

Pastybarbieloves

I LOVE the Narciso edp, and own all of the edp fragrances in the cube line. I have to say this is my least favourite. It smells lovely, but after a minute i become nearly completely anosmic to it, its barely detectable. I have a feeling that I’m also anosmic to iris in general. I can’t say I recommend this out of experience, but it may very well work for other people, so sample first.

I recently spritzed this on my arm in Sephora because I wanted to smell the differences between this, the original Narciso and the Ambrée version. The DNA (musky, powdery scent) is certainly there, but with an added sweetness that makes this a bit more suited to my style these days.
I've always liked sweet fragrances, but I've never liked overly sweet ones (the likes of Angel Muse or La Nuit Trésor Nude) until this Fall. Maybe it is this particular time in history that makes me want to indulge in something more comforting and embracing. The Rouge flanker kind of gets there... but not all the way. In the middle of its development, I get something sweet-spicy-floral (as ma2780 said in her excellent review, the floral component is more rose than gardenia) and in the drydown the vanilla is prevalent and accompanies the classic drydown of the original, making it a bit softer.
A scent for a determined, confident, elegant woman. A scent I can see someone wearing on a date in an Argentinian restaurant ( don't know why :D ).
Unfortunately, longevity is not good as many people pointed out.
I totally agree with humairum on the fact that Narciso Rodriguez's perfumes smell like their bottles make you think they would smell.

arefuthescroob

Iris and rose plays together really nicely here.

golden.signorina

So Powdery..
A lipsticky like smell
Nice but not my cup of tea

humairum

Don’t even know how to describe it but I just love it. Powdery, Airy, musky, kinda reminds me of lipsticks too but in a nice way (also the bottle looks like lipstick) Narciso perfumes often smell like what the bottle looks like, if that makes sense
Smells wonderful on my skin, I think its quite versatile? I can wear it any time, everytime.

This is my 2nd buy from Narciso (for her EDP was the first and also loved it)

Note: The store where I buy fragrances usually, gave a discount, plus the bottle alone and the body lotion-travel size spray-FB set was same price so I got the set and oh yeah that lotion is on my side table and am using it and loving it!

samantham-123

Oh how I adore this one.
If only for the absolutely abysmal longevity, it would be in my top 3 for life fragrance loves. Narciso just knows how to do musk, and Rouge is lovely. It's taken me a long time to review this one; I've had a bottle for nearly a year now but I could never find the right words to use for it as it tends to change a lot on me depending on my skin chemistry. If i wear it in the morning for the day, it has a tangy kind of sourness, but in a good way; almost like fizzy white wine with rose petals floating in it.
If i use it at night, layered with the body cream, it's a lot sweeter and creamer with more of a doughy buttery texture to it; I think from the tuberose and Tonka and lots of vanilla. I love it so so much, but as I said, that longevity....such a shame. I got my bottle in a gift set with cream + body wash, all 3 layered creates amazing projection and lasting power, but the edp alone is just too weak

I went to Macy's and tested the pink, white and finally this red bottle. I initially thought based on the reviews I would love the pink bottle(Poudree), however after walking around with all three scents, the red bottle was the winner. Yes, all three carries that musk/powdery scent however, Rouge is sexy, with a hint of spice. It makes me want to wear a red or black lace dress with blood red lipstick in the evening/(Fall). It has a subtle sweetness which gets even better when fully dried down. My second favorite of the line would be the pink bottle.

Miruna

Kenzo Flower vibes in a minimalist, modern red bottle. That's all I have to say.

Lainu

This perfume is georgous! Sweet, warm powdery, sensual. I find myself sniffing my wrist often to get a wiff. Unfortunately this is the only way I can smell it projection is week, silage moderate. Only someone standing close would be able to smell it. Which is unfortunate because I love the scent but you would have to spray every couple of hours to maintain it. I would not have bothered to spend quite a large sum on a large bottle if I had known. Should have tried it myself first.

I can’t handle sweet perfumes . Narciso just does it right for me. Maybe cuz I’m a musky person.
When I want sweet in the cooler / cold season , Narciso it is. ANY Narciso !
This is the only house I completely trust by buying a bottle blindly.

From now on, every autumn/winter, only Rodriguez.

marymag

I like this a lot as an easy reach for the upcoming fall. Being back at work, I can’t reach for heavier vanilla perfumes or anything too outlandish. Narciso Rouge is musky and powdery and crowd-pleasing without being generic.

Narciso Rouge, on me, starts very woody, almost No. 2 pencily. It stays like that on clothes, but develops into a warm powder on my skin. I wouldn’t say it’s sweet, per se, but it’s softer and more floral as it dries down.

This is the first Narciso Rodriguez perfume I’ve ever, knowingly, smelled so I can’t speak to any comparison to its siblings, but I really enjoy this one.

Chellywellie

Powdery, so my husband really likes it, but less talcum powdery and more the smell of the drawer that my mum used to keep her spa toiletries in in the 90s. Unfortunately it just doesn’t last and is almost undetectable after a couple of hours! :-(

Winterspring123

Ok, hands down my #1 perfume during winter. Its very long-lasting and just envolopes you in an aura of musk and rose throughout the day. I always imagine myself in a beautiful white sweater during a winter storm when I smell it. 6 feet of snow outside but its ok, this perfume is keeping me warm.

MoJo_JoJo

This is just ok for me. Out of all of the NR cubes this one strays the furthest from what you expect from Narciso Rodriguez = MUSK. I do still like it and wear it often. It’s the most womanly of them all and something about it is very lipstick-ish. On my skin the Tonka, Florals and Vanilla dominate and the Musk and Woody notes take the background, whereas with the others it is front and center. This would be a good starting point for anyone interested in trying the NR line but aren’t quite sure just how much musk they’re into.

1/23/21 EDIT: Trying this in the cooler weather and it is much different. Now I’m getting the Musk and lots of it, tho it is still well balanced with the other notes. Smells a lot like Poudreé but slightly deeper. They give off the same vibe but if Poudreé would be for day then Rouge would be for night. Love

ma2780

If you like the others from this line (namely Narciso and Narciso Poudree) you will more than likely enjoy this one. As a point of reference, I find it reminiscent to the original white cube, but certainly different enough to justify owning both (though I also justify owning backups to backups so...yeah).

This one leans rosey where the other leans white floral/gardenia. Also, the cedar is way dialed down in this one and replaced with tonka and vanilla, making it warmer and sweeter than the original. It's still very much a musk fragrance so if you don't like that Narciso musk, I think you'll have trouble liking this one, although it may still be worth a shot because it's gentler and a bit more low key than the others.

Red is vulnerable, feminine, and floral vanilla while white is loud, beast-mode, and woody. I love them both but I must say, I love the original a bit more!

Longevity is 3-4 hours on me, and projection is soft.

I love love love the top and middle notes of this but the dry down is barely there on me, it smells absolutely nothing like the top notes and becomes an extremely weak uncharacteristic scent. If it wasn't for the undetectable dry down, this would be top 10 fragrance for me. Would recommend testing it first before purchasing.

I think this is one of those perfumes that is a hit or miss depending on whether it agrees with your skin. I wish this was a hit for me because it's a stunning fragrance, signature scent worthy even.

bovogie

This fragrance is absolutely stunning. Especially, in the humidity & I was truly surprised.I mean.... WOW....does this fragrance bloom. Just try it in the humid heat. It projects something phenomenal in a hot & sweaty environment.

Sherine777

I simply love this..

This is probably the perfume that got me into powdery scents. I have tried a few and there's definitely good ones but this is still my top favorite in that category.

What I get the most is Iris and Tonka with a Musky background and the Iris gives out this adorable lipsticky accord after a while.

It's rich but it doesn't get heavy and It doesn't project that much, but I can feel it around me for about 6 hours.

I tried Poudree, while being very good, I think this is more poudree than Poudree which is more creamy to me.

I ain't gonna tell you how many backups I have of this :D

piesaddiction

this will always be my most favourite scent of all time. the balance of wood, musk and sweetness is so perfect and it has remarkable longevity. even though i might be considered too young to wear a scent of such caliber, it always makes me feel so sophisticated and beautiful with just one spritz. 100% will always recommend.

Austrian_in_Denmark

I have just bought a small bottle of Rouge, holding back from acquiring the big one, because I had only tested the scent once before. It smelled arresting back then, in the cold weather.

This might be one of the few scents that are better on me in winter. Now, in June, it is lovely for sure, but the pretty rose blossoming in the top notes fades too fast. I am left with a massive load of iris and a bit of musk and vanilla.

Nothing wrong with any of this, Rouge is sweet and elegant, pleasant and versatile. Still, the scent does not wow me as much as the first time around. I will retest it in autumn.

Medium sillage, lasts only 2-3 hours on my skin - in summer.

EDIT: I am using Rouge now, in October, and it smells beautiful. It really is far better in cooler temperatures IMO.

I thought that I was absolutely on team musk for my fragrance preferences, but I really don’t like Rouge. I blind bought this one thinking it sounded the best of all the Narciso Rodriguez, king of musk, options based on reviews. I do get it, I feel like this could be lovely on someone else, but it felt really suffocating and gave me a headache with one spritz. I tried to leave it on, see how it adapted to my body chemistry, but just the scent lingering in the room where I sprayed it was off-putting. I can’t imagine having to wait a few hours to actually enjoy a fragrance I have sprayed on my body.

I’m rather sad it didn’t work out for me. No one in my house liked it. I am not experienced in reviewing perfume, or picking out notes, but I think it’s the cedar that was too strong for me. I’m also discovering that Iris possibly doesn’t agree with my nose.

ejvelez

To me this is exactly what I expected - a slightly spicy Poudree. Having owned Poudree for a while now and it being one of my faves, I was very pleased when Rouge (a blind buy) finally arrived in my home and fulfilled my expectations. I do believe it would work beautifully in the fall and winter because of it's slight spiciness but I would wear it all year round.

awesomeamiyah

That's my Mom's signature fragrance along side the Narciso Rouge EDT! I love the smell so much! I even wear it at the Little Mr. and Ms. Tampines pageant in Singapore in 2018 --- the same year the fragrance was launched!

Ameliadrevein

Heaveanly powdery notes my top 10 fav frag for sure And long lasting too, suitable to wear for all round year .this is supposed to be name poudre.i own poudre version it’s smell more like lotion than powder to be honest.

Matheya

It doesn't smell like rose much! It's Powdery Iris + Tonka + Amber ! I don't know who put the Musk as a main note - this is simply not true !
The Dry down is very heady and powdery ! It has nothing to do with the "For Her" line - which is very fresh musky and floral.
I expected something similar but the musk is way back in the background somewhere.
This is very powdery for me.... I'll pass.

labonvie

I came late to the Narciso bandwagon but I’ve recently fallen hard for the entire line. This fragrance is spectacular. I was not expecting to love this one so much. I mainly bought it because the bottle is gorgeous (and I like to leave no stone unturned when exploring a brand). I’m not sure if I prefer this or the white cube more. This is tangy and creamy and warm and comforting while still being chic. I love it. At times it reminds me of Delina (which I have) but this is by no means a dupe, more like a distant cousin.
If you are not a rose or tuberose lover, have no fear. This is not your grandma’s floral bouquet. It is smooth and exquisitely blended.
I was also worried about the lasting power but of all the Narciso fragragraces I’ve tried, this has lasted by far the longest. I sprayed it 14 hrs ago and it is still very present on my wrist. My skin usually devours fragrances, even those deemed to be powerhouses. Very impressed.

jamyllevuyk

I never liked the smell of roses in anything but I fell in love with this sexy mature perfume. I just got it for my birthday and I'm 26. A lot of compliments on this one. It makes me fell so bossy and elagant at the same time. Every dime worth it!!!
