This is such a hard fragrance to review, because I think no great description would do it justice. The name and the concept are so well achieved with this perfume, it literally takes you to the rainforest. You wear it and you can feel like a strong Amazónia walking through the jungle. It's very rich, misterious, inviting, incredibly elegant and seductive in just a perfect way. I'd say it works best in cold winter, fall or rainy days, and for special occasions if you want to feel powerful. For the price it is an excellent buy, maybe in a somewhat niche category, nothing to envy on a designer perfume, beast-mode longevity (I smell it on clothes even days after). I don't think it's a safe blind buy, I got a tester first and fell in love with it, I had to go for the full bottle. It is a little hard to get it since it was a limited 2019 edition.

Narrative I

Having the responsibility of transmitting, through the creation of a fragrance, sensations that can stimulate both sides of the brain, dialoguing with emotions, feelings of respect, otherness, self-affirmation, as well as the cultural processes of a people, is nothing more than worthy to be classified as an immediate masterpiece among the avalanche of 'not so attractive' releases that hit shelves on a weekly basis, around the world. Alma does justice to this, I wouldn't find a more perfect and representative name that completes what it actually represents, an Alma.

Narrative II

People who don't know the North region of this country (Brazil), necessarily if they never want to know it, just smell Alma, because he is the social representation of my people, in bottled form. It emanates the smell of our festivals, our rituals, our cuisine (voted the best in the country for several consecutive years) exotic, our forests, our fresh and salt waters, our people, our fairs, our carimbó and our fauna and flora [...] Yves Cassar and Verônica Kato left nothing out, they managed to capture everything that would be necessary for this fragrance, in order to surprise whoever gets to know it.

Narrative III

For a long time I was against the way brand Natura exploited my region in the extraction of our raw materials, as I understood that it left some settlers, farmers and even families without the chance to continue their livelihoods, due to the fact to select people for its fields, who have the minimum academic and curricular qualification necessary for such investiture. After a while, and through the militancy of our people, Casa Natura understood that combining empirical knowledge with the common sense of these people would make it stand out even more; this has happened, because today, the company counts on the perception of the families that live in the countryside for the harvest, for the selection of raw materials and even has the secrets about distillation, determination of essential oils and about the seasons high and/or low rainfall. Yes, feedback is given by the House and today I am in awe of the way in which you have developed your beautiful work. Proof of this is the supremacy they managed to achieve in the creation of Alma, a purely living fragrance.

Narrative IV

Definitely Alma is an unprecedented, poetic fragrance that will need time for some noses to accept it the way it really deserves to be accepted. I see it as a turning point within the House and among all the national perfumery that I've had the opportunity to feel, acquire or test. Absurdly fixed, even after a shower it still remains on the skin, under the nails and in the form of a giant bubble, it pulsates in all directions drawing attention. Its drying is interesting, because at the same time that it refers to aquatic notes, it manages to bring the strength of the Amazonian forest floor with all its seeds, fruits, leaves, branches and dew that accumulate there.

Narrative V

Natura Ekos Alma can brilliantly describe the soul!

Eau de lys

Just got this based on all the good reviews. It does smell like Thé Noir, but it also smells (especially upon first spray) like Rose 31. Maybe I’m sensitive to vetiver, but I’m getting a large dose of woody floral Vetiver in this. It’s lighter than The Noir and probably more suitable than the latter for summer if you’re not doing anything strenuous. It’s definitely appropriate for the fall and mild winter. I wouldn’t say it’s a dupe for either of the Le Labos though as the extra floral notes and vanilla take it in a somewhat different direction. If I breath in deeply after the dry down , it gives me a close, moist feeling kind of like breath, like baby’s breath but not milky or sour along with the woods. The bottle and packaging are also very attractive. The only con is that the bottle does not sit on its base—it’s rounded—so I’m not really sure how to display it.

This is pure poetry. I am currently sniffing plenty of stuff and I hardly fall in love with a scent. I did fall for this one. It makes me remember why I love fragrances in the first placr. Rich, flowery, resinous, rich and ubique 🥰

EuniceMine

I want to order this but am scared when people say it is earthy, by earthy do you mean as in a pottery balesmic scent or do you mean earthy as in TF black orchid scent. I don’t like Black orchid , is too licorice smelling to me. Please is for resemble Alma and BO from TM together let me know so I don’t waste my money 😔

This scent is truly remarkable. It evokes the aroma of a forest after a heavy rain, with subtle notes of fig leaves and honey. It's the perfect fragrance for a cool, humid rainy day, but may be too heavy for hot and humid tropical weather.
I made a blind purchase and I am extremely satisfied, it lives up to the hype. I am tempted to purchase multiple bottles in case it gets discontinued.

Balsamor

This was a blind buy, and I really like it. Similar dry down to Oud Wood but leans feminine, with floral top notes and more lactonic. Longevity here is impressive, the sillage is noticeably floral at first but fades to something gentle and warm. I love earthy, resinous scents and breu branco is my all-time favorites. I wish it were a little more present here, to throw some dirt in the dry-down and make it a true unisex scent. Still, this EDT is nuanced, original, and priced superbly well for what it is. Too bad it is difficult to buy outside of Brazil.

I want to try this so bad! Any idea how I can get it in the US? Please DM me

Terribly complex and unique, I haven't smelled similar scents or blends since I started this hobby (ten years). EDIT: yes, I did. It was one of Fueguia's 1833. Unfortunately I cannot remember which (Darwin or Fueguier).

The composition is woody floral with some earthy accents, it leans feminine rather than masculine - I feel dirtier or darker base notes would make me feel more comfortable wearing it: it has a prominent floral sillage, its trail is noticeable from afar, plus it feels it has very good longevity.

It is not appropriate for blind buying, the character of the blend demands careful testing, it feels dense and full-bodied, which might not be the taste of many. The flowers, woods and resins and the earthiness brings it closer to a traditional perfumery school style (although strictly speaking it is not), which may make some feel that it is appropriate for older ladies.

Finally, it is true when it is said that it could be a high-end perfumery house offering (minimum prices of USD 150 for 50 ml bottles). As with many Natura's products, no one can beat it when it comes to an excellent quality/price ratio.

Addendum: it has been almost six hours since I applied it. An hour, an hour and a half ago I sensed a very intense aroma of wood resins, with very marked notes of terpenes - it is the smell of the oil used to dilute oil paints, a kind of industrial smell of wood in which menthol notes abound, perhaps because it is obtained from conifers. It is in this instance that the blend turns masculine: woody notes leading to floral accords finally ending in terpenic notes.

I stress my first impressions: it really is complex and unique.

I absolutely love this fragrance. Smells like a forest after the autumn rain for me. It doesn't project that much, it is more personal.

fabianapmadruga

What a marvelous, rich, embodied perfume! I love how it reminds me of a fireplace in a cozy challet in the woods, by the river. The nature here is not green and fresh, but wild, woody and wintery. ADORABLE! The Copaíba and the priprioca have leading roles for me, from the first moment to the very elegant and cozy dry down, with high silage and excellent longevity. Avoid wearing in the summer and even better, during the day. But it's an award worthy Brazilian perfume which I'm a fan and enthusiast

grRosina

This scent reminded me of my childhood in Mexico swimming every summer with my brothers and cousins in a pool surrounded by ash trees. There must be a scientific reason for this, regardless, it is for me such a beautiful experience, a fragrance that brought back those memories, it is just priceless!

Va algo en inlgles , this is THE NOIR for a dime, total deal for such a brillant scent.

Es el mejor perfume Natura femenino, ideal para un regalo importante

Dryasiulia

The "oily notes" make this flirt a little with my dreaded "hair product/body lotion" category; but I still love it. This, Relief and Siberian Golden Wood are my favorite "rainy day" wears.

It's light yet persistent; and I recommend over applying~ It's a very atmospheric scent....evocative of standing on a balcony, freshly shampoo-ed hair still steaming, while the fresh sweet smell of the damp wood and leaves wafts by on a refreshing breeze.

Wonderful and unique Brazilian perfume, harvest of 2019. Although they are not listed, I feel notes of liqueur and ripe fig in this perfume. Maybe due to the mix of woods and earthy notes. Absolutely charming, nocturnal and mysterious.

You need to know about this perfume, according to Natura:
“Natura Ekos Alma is a deep reading of the Amazon. An exclusive creation of the Brazilian perfumery house that uses Priprioca oil, aged for 12 months in Amazonian wood, in a handcrafted process, which brings unique olfactory characteristics to each harvest. With essential oils that carry the mysterious energy of the Amazon life cycle, this fragrance seeks the intensity and power of life of the Priprioca root and Cumaru seed in the forest floor. The intoxicating Copaíba and the resin of Breu Branco (also known as Brazilian myrrh), elevate the spirit. It is the power of the forest in the form of a fragrance.”
