It's a crime to compare this cheap synthetic mess to Psychedelic Love by Initio

Bordo

Probably my sample is expired, as all the nice note are barely noticeable, they are buried well under a layer of kerosene like (or whatever that industrial thing is) scent. Would love to give it a second chance, but it is a no for now.

This is for the sexy granny that goes on cruises and still goes out for bottomless mimosas with her girlfriends. It's soft and feminine but, still bold and alluring. It's a woody floral that's more woody than floral, not too sweet and the myrrh in the base gives it a slight resinous feel in the dry down. This is absolutely not a safe blind buy nor is it appropriate for the office but, definitely worth sampling.

To my nose it doesn’t smell like black orchid but Initio definitely yezzzz. I don’t know what notes give that suffocated smell. Probably chemical santal but I get musk and floral in this fragrance. Unfortunately unpleasant perfume. Very loud composition with long sillage. Couldn’t washed it off. Please don’t buy blindly how I did🙄.

Chewy ylang-forward nougat, lots of vanilla and heliotrope as it dries down, becomes noticeably more powdery. Very warm and sweet, but not so much so as to be obviously gourmand.
Best-suited for cool weather, can't be too hot or cold.
Projects very loudly, leaves a noticeable trail.

Just arrived this morning, but I'm not a fan. Too floral and very feminine.

I love every note in this: almond, vanilla, sandalwood, ylang-ylang... But somehow mixing them all together just did not work. The opening is creamy but in a vintage way, giving grandma vibes. It might've been the milky sandalwood + ylang ylang (can smell old sometimes). The opening is sweet, but it dries down to a dry myrrh note with a hint of suede undertone.

WARNING: This is by no means blind-buy-friendly!

At first spray, it's nearly identical to Psychedelic Love, but PL retains more sweetness in the drydown. I prefer PL for that reason.

As someone who cannot stand sweet scents or even tolerate vanilla, this is very beautiful and (surprisingly) not too sweet.

This smells like a Tahitian breeze full of white tiare/monoi flowers giving a lactonic-creamy, fruity sweet, fresh green and heady, intoxicating scent. But Azalea also combines this with a sweet myrhh, resulting in the most beautifully exotic scent I own.

The florals are divine and twinkle as they bloom on your skin. The opening is the best part, as the exotic white florals sparkle with a sweetly/herbal/aromatic liquorice/fennel note coming from the myrhh. This myrhh isn’t a bitter one, it’s a sweet myrhh like sweet liquorice. I love this earthy herbaceous sweet fennel note mixed with exotic ylang, tiare and nighttime blooming jasmine. This smells like a summertime evening in a tropical garden, when the air is thick with intoxicating florals. The 80% oil quantity is impressive too.

This does remind me of Bikini Questa Sera by Christian Louboutin as both have that ‘summer florals when you’re wearing a bikini’ vibe but Azalea is even better.

So to me the notes are (and in order of dominance) ylang-ylang, tiare flower, sweet myrhh, sweet fennel, jasmine, heliotrope (which gives a almond/marzipan vibe and is great for longevity), sweet patchouli and I get a little musk in the base. Thankfully there is no sickening-style vanilla, as it’s the aforementioned notes which are naturally sweet but not in a heavy, custardy vanilla way.

Longevity is on the higher end of moderate, lasting about 6 hours on me. I just wish this beloved scent lasted even longer.

I love this, it’s my exotic summertime scent and summertime signature.

Update: I’ve been wearing this for a while and I don’t think there’s any actual vanilla in this. I think the sweetness is the marzipan/heliotrope and sweet myrrh combo. My boyfriend has also started wearing this, as he said it was apparently “masculine smelling” on me. I think it’s because it’s so herbaceously floral and not too sweet. So Azalea can be unisex after all.

This smells so similar to Psychedelic Love! I do get a slight resemblance to Black Orchid as well, but more so it smells like Psychedelic Love. This is a soft blend of florals that is powdery and light. I do get some rich hints of marzipan, but it does not come across as overtly almond. It's more a rich base the other notes sit on top of. This is also similar to Myrrh Assoluto, but is not as heavy on the myrrh. This scent is beautiful in it's own right! I use the comparisons only to help give a sense of what this smells like. And as a side note, this smells nothing like Santal Blush. There is a creamy sandalwood base, but this is a powdery floral, not a sandalwood perfume. This is one that more people should be talking about! I blind bought this one based on the comparisons and the reviews. I am not disappointed.

To my nose, Azalea is more like younger sister to Black Orchid. Can't stop sniffing my arm. Beautiful beautiful beautiful
Very sexy and dark but yummy and light

As someone who used to have Black Orchid as their signature scent I was genuinely surprised at how close this fragrance was to it. It is incredibly difficult to mimic Tom Ford fragrances due to their propensity for adding a twist to an otherwise normal scent pyramid. Thierry Mugler is similar in this regard. However, when we relate Azalea back to Black Orchid, it appears that the polarizing note (aka the truffle note) has been removed.

I did not read hardly any reviews about this fragrance and was totally dialed in to the Marzipan note. I absolutely love Marzipan candies, so I was under the impression it would carry a more almond, bakery undertone. This is a very sexy, dark fragrance with that balsamic resin from the myrhh really deepening the complexity. It really does mimic Psychedelic Love as the other reviews say, but it doesn't have the same bite. In much the same regard as TF, I think Azalea does a great job of taking the base of both of those high end fragrances and removing the polarizing notes that make it too harsh for most noses.

All around a great purchase for someone who wants the same scent profile but doesn't want the price tag associated to Niche or Designer houses.

Truly very similar to Psychedelic Love, but lasts not so long and projection is not so heavy.

Totally agree with the comment below, this is a beautiful perfume, why no one is talking about it?! I see a lot of Attar perfumes around, but not this one.
The comparison to Psychedelic Love is quite true, it has some similarities to Initio perfume, but also they are different in a way. If you think that Psychedelic Love is too much for you, you can try this for sure.
Azalea to me seems like a true unisex perfume, so man that like a bit sweeter heliotrope perfumes with a bit of woody character - go for it. The sweetness is not cloying, refined in a way. The woody notes are quite prominent because it doesn't feel like a 'floral scent' You can pull this perfume in day time for sure, while Psychedelic love is more intense and dense and sometimes doesn't feel right in daylight because it is very very seductive perfume. With this, you have to be also cautious because it is still a seductive and sexy scent, but a lighter version, less opulent and airier.
It is a versatile perfume - in the daytime 3 sprays and you are good, so this way it wears beautifully in the daytime and does not overpower everything around, and if you want a more intense and radiating smell just spray more.
Although the longevity is not spectacular it is pretty good around 6h, but you get 100ml so you can be generous with your sprays and refresh the scent when you want.
Definitely worth attention

I don't understand why the rating on this is so low. This is a beautiful candy sweet fragrance, but not overly sweet. The yellow florals stand out, and make this so lovely. I don't think anyone would find this offensive. Very smooth, sweet and creamy. This is my second from this line, and I can see myself buying more.
