For me this is the best ever summer scent in a hot dry Med style climate. Just perfect, very CkOne-ish (perhaps my second favourite) and I guess very similar era-wise, but with that metallic edge (what from I always wonder, rosemary pineapple blend or what?) that pushes it into masculine territory. But so clean, so fresh, just summer vibes, without being aquatic particularly, or obviously faux tropical or even as clearly citrus as CkOne. Used to be dirt cheap to the extent you felt criminal, prices creeping up now, not sure why, but still worth it.

SchmeatloafRD1

I use to wear this as my gym scent and my ex would put her nose into my pump cover to take the biggest sniff because of the way chrome smelled on it

Stellarrl

got this as a christmas gift back when i started collecting and I still use this on a weekly basis during summer months! very easy dumb reach and honestly, even though the scents are opposites, this matches the 9/10 I would give the most wanted intense. awesome scent

tsvetanski

Way too underrated fragrance, in my opinion.

leppa7

Extremely sharp aluminum i like it for that metal. Watery is so serene that makes it great for likability of a masculine human : )

DistractedZach

clean, citrusy, and a bit floral. really perfumey. I wanna say unisex but the citrus makes it male leaning imo. ck one but improved

Chrome is about gentle yet strong generational masculinity. Chrome has stood the test of time, and it calls to a man that is ready to take on the tests of life and pass them with grace and determination.

Chrome is versatile enough for going to work or going on adventures. Chrome’s citrus and synthetic aspect puts a bit of pep in your step and makes you stand up a bit taller. It reminds you that you’re a resourceful modern man. The fantastic woody dry down encourages you to own your place at the helm of the ship, ready and able to overcome whatever lies ahead. While the aquatic and ozonic notes bade you to look forward at where you want to go in life, planning your way accordingly.

The unofficial name for this OG should be Chrome Legacy. This is for the man that lives not only for today, but also for the numerous lives that will be strengthened by his legacy.

The synthetic aspect may be too much for some sensitive folks, myself included. This can be diminished by taking care to how and where it is applied, using less, and layering (pairs well with Chrome Pure).

This is actually one of the first colognes I ever owned. It got plenty of use in my high school days, but since then has sat on a shelf collecting dust. On first spray, its's a classic "blue" scent with fresh citrus top notes, fresh aromatics, and sweet woody base notes. It's a very fresh, clean masculine scent, but also very sweet and somewhat synthetic. However, it's really not quite as bad I was remembering it, especially compared to some cheep freshies that I've smelled/owned.

Altogether, for what it is, it's not a bad scent and it's absolutely something you can pick up as a blind buy if you want a cheap cologne for a young man. However, once you start getting into more "mature" scents, you probably wouldn't bother with this as it's quite sweet and synthetic. 6/10 for me.

After buying around 15 new fragrances over the last 6 months, diverse olfactory profiles , quite a few niche brands,.. This still is buy far the most complemented fragrance I have.

SirSmellsGood

I think the initial bloom can come off a bit metallic. But once it drys down is these cool woody/ modern smell I enjoy. It's funny to call this modern for how old it is but I think it holds.

It looks like you can get a 100ml for roughly 40-50$ these days. Anything around 45 is good value imo.
This could be a good cheap daily during the hot months

0xrafae

This was the first fragrance that ever earned me a compliment from a girl I had a crush on in high school. Still blush thinking about it. At the time, this freshness was unmatched. Say what you want, but Chrome is a legend,

Travis_Bickle

With the coming spring and summer months, I have been in the market for a "blue" fragrance that I can wear to work daily. I found a winner with Azzaro Chrome. Citrus and aquatic vibe with a piercing rosemary that exudes a metallic effect. Smells great. Very office friendly and surprisingly strong for an EDT. Incredibly versatile and the very definition of a dumb-reach. It's been around for so long that hardly anyone wears it. This stands out from the crowd of other "blue" ambroxan bombs.

As a side note, I was torn between the EDT and the Parfum concentrations of Chrome. After extensive testing, I went with the EDT. The Parfum is a great scent all its own, but is very sweet and is lacking the metallic facet the fragrance is named after. Hell, they're affordable enough on discounters to snag both!

ARainyDayInMay

I got a full bottle of this as a perk on an order and had my boyfriend test it out.
It's something that reminds me of a cool summer morning, walking in the park. It has a very clean vibe, the perfect white T-shirt scent for him.
Perfectly versatile, in my opinion, whether for something relaxing, or for the office.
Indeed, it has the freshness of a shower gel that sticks with you for a good amount of hours, being still rather complex. The aromatic notes evolve, but if I had to pick 3 notes that stand out, it would be Lemon, Rosemary and Cedar.
I doubt this could be offensive for anyone, so I'd say it's a very safe blind buy if you're starting a collection.

badbuzza

It's strong, but that's the feeling I'm looking for when I reach for it. The days in which I need a little extra power are the ones that I wear this cologne. It is one of the few that only need 1-2 sprays total, which I like. With that said, I don't know that I'll repurchase once my current bottle runs out...

AlekIgnatov

I love this scent, I don't know why, but it brings back so many memories. It lasts, about 7,8 hours on my skin. Overall one of my favorite fragrances for spring and summer and everyday use.

Adrmoreno25

Like the scent, but can be boring and overplayed. I got the fragrance because I saw it was fairly cheap, smelled good, and I had extra cash. I wore it once and it was the most mediocre fragrance I've used. not to say it's bad but it is very mediocre compared to others. I'd say if you have the cash go for something better, if you don't this will be one of your best options.

hoto

My first fragnance that my mum got me for present. I still love it 20 years later. Never gets boring, always fresh and can be used for any ocasion and any place. Perfect for office in the summer or gym. I like the citrus metalic smell to it and how fresh it smells.

logankyle

Wore this religiously in high school, but not fond of it in my late 20s. Best way to describe this scent is, 'guys trip' in Las Vegas Nevada.

fromthesidelines

Nostalgia test. I guess it's reformulation, but this is much more floral and less metallic than I remember.
Gone soft. Smells like middle-aged dads who used to be jocks but never get laid anymore.

Chloé Gagnon

It is an "Iso E Super" molecule bomb, mixed with rosemary. Don't spray too much. My boyfriend was wearing it once in a while... it is ok, but not sexy, a little bit boring. I would keep my money for a perfume that have more warmth, more personality.

Perfume snobs love to make fun of Chrome as being a "chemical mess" or "shampoo". Ignore all that nonsense. Chrome is a great scent, and it's not even my style! I usually wear strong aromatic, leathery fragrances, but Chrome for some reason hits the spot for me. Its freshness does not smell like chemicals. It smells like a blend of fresh citrus rinds, palm leaves, clean musk, and sun-baked sand. Two words that best describe Chrome? Sunny and smooth.

WildCalifornia

It's a good summer scent , something fresh but not bright .
To me the top citrus and pineapple notes are very subtle . You'll catch them just enough to know that they are there but after a minute the the flowers take over . The neroli jasmine and oakmoss really punch through the most . They give it this blue fresh powdery scent . It has a lot going on with all the notes to where it comes together to make that fresh almost talcum powder type smell. But definitely more fresh . You really get a lot of the white floral that is kept at bay with the musk oakmoss and the woods. It's a really pleasant fragrance that is kept pretty balanced . If you're expecting a citrus topped fragrance this may not be for you , to me the star of the show here is that white flower , oakmoss, sandalwood combo.
I like it but it's not a Wow fragrance. I kept this in my car or would just use it while working . Nice addition to the collection especially for the price

If you like clean lemon smelling colognes this is for you. The dry down is very flowery. A great cologne for those hot summer days.

Percell7777

My favourite from the 90’s I still love this in 2024. It’s my wife’s favourite. Best fresh smelling fragrance for the price. Definitely blind buy worthy if you like fresh clean fragrances.

yuhh

Really underrated. Very fresh and clean, smells like you just got out of the shower and put on fresh clean clothes. Woody and lemony, it's basic but inoffensive. Got this as a gift when I was in like middle school, so it's great if you're just starting out or want something clean that you can wear anywhere whenever. My favorite basic cheap fragrance, and I can't see anyone not liking it because of how universal and "basic" it is. Sometimes these are the best to wear as you're not going to find anyone that thinks it smells weird.

JoeC03

My very first fragrance I bought when I was 18. This juice holds a soft spot in my heart. It opens with a very strong citrusy lemon and aquatic notes, but it is also very metallic when you factor in that rosemary. That metallic smell doesn't linger for long on my skin though, after that it's a woody base (but I don't get the hint of musk at all). Has weak to moderate sillage but it does genuinely have good longevity on my skin.

For a cheapie, this genuinely gets the job done. It is a good everyday fragrance that isn't particularly groundbreaking or innovative these days, but I bought my bottle at $40 in a Walmart and I bet you can find it even cheaper online.

kaneh2323

Very nice, smells like soap on application.

matejeee

Good everyday fragrance, doesn't smell anything special.

JeremyPrajwal

This is the perfect fragrance for the gym or any type of indoor/outdoor workout.

J.Deft

Off my skin it smells like a generic ivory soap. No citrus just a heavy jasmine clean musk. The definition of a solid clean cheapie.

rmnnnnn

Look, is this the best perfume ever made? No. But it's fresh, clean, cheap, masculine, non-offensive and I can "replace" it with my LV Meteore 3 hours after spraying when going out. It's good :)

KingMartio

Pretty nostalgic clean fragrance i smelled since my childhood with a very designer quality and sharp freshness and great versatility, however there are many better options imo than chrome with more alternatives to better smelling aquatics, overall alright fragrance bit too synthetic and designer

5/10

tabularasaus

My go to in high school circa 2004. Still enjoy putting this one on for nostalgic trip down memory road.

Mjchaelj

A really nice classic fresh cologne. It opens up synthetic but gets better as it dries down. Just a really nice clean smell. I can’t believe the year it’s from because it smells so modern. I do think a better alternative is Louis Vuitton’s Météore which smells higher quality even though it’s more expensive.

ntabassum92

Azzaro Chrome is alright, it's a classic men's aquatic type of scent, rosemary forward, and pretty metallic. Smells nice and clean, but isn't giving me that wow factor. Not too masculine for me to wear, which is a plus point.

hc123

Going to get hate for this but on MY skin I get a silver mountain water vibe slightly more metallic than inky and slightly more aquatic. Of course it's much more synthetic but I'd rather wear this to get the vibe than club de nuit sillage.

TipTopNotes

The prominent lemon and rosemary notes up top give Chrome an immediate metallic sharpness from the get-go. The name "Chrome" is fairly accurate for the metallic feel, though it’s not as transparent and aromatic as something like H24 by Hermes, which relies on heavy doses of experimental modern aromachemicals.

Shortly after, that fades away and opens up to a smooth pineapple scent. This pineapple isn't particularly sweet and fruity, however; it's dense and woody, as if the essence of the pineapple's core was captured and put into the mix. This goes in conjunction with the other woody notes in the base. The notes underneath—mostly the musky and floral notes—come together to smell like a quintessential bar of bath soap, while the copious oakmoss adds an additional thickness to the whole scent. Over its life, it remains relatively linear with its woody pineapple soap vibe.

It has good longevity and moderate projection with a smooth scent bubble. You'll smell clean, but it’s much too thick of a scent to call "fresh". It seems more fitting for Spring or early Autumn as it’s overly-heavy for a hot Summer day. Not a bad scent by any means, but I'm more partial to the newer, zestier flankers of the line (Extreme or EDP), as they're much more refreshing throughout a hot Summer's day.

FaisalT

This is an okay everyday scent, nice for the summer. alright for its price, wouldn't expect it to last too long at all. and can probably find similar scents for cheaper and scents that can last longer and project more for cheaper

ScentedRoyalty

This is new for it's era, it's super sweet but very synthetic at the same time. It can be alot at times. You don't really get any of the woods. I think it protects pretty good and on me it last a long time. It's also a safe blind buy if found for cheap

#291 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

I have no idea what I was thinking. I tried out this watery mess when it came out in the 90's. It was a throwaway then and it hasn't improved. Yes, it has a nice freshie opening. That's pretty much it. If that's what you want Missoni Wave is a way better smelling citrus wake-up scent though it's just as short-lived. This has no similarity to Cuba Blue. It is very similar to Cuba Copacabana, and Yachtman Blue, $7 frags as Azzaro Chrome should be.

Kennet123$

its alright, just smells like a cheap generic citrus scent. not good projection and doesnt last long. 3/10

DichterundDenker

Too blue, too metallic, too generic. No scent to feel comfortable.

Andasu

It's CK One, but nicer. The oakmoss really gives this a wet smell which I enjoy. I don't know if I get the metallic smell, but it sort of reminds me of concrete after the rain. We're going into summer here in Australia, and I think this will be really nice and refreshing in the heat and humidity. I'll have to get some of the flankers to see how they stack up.

Max Tatum

This is an inoffensive performance beast freshie that simply denies to go away. A great positive is rarely anyone uses it nowadays, so it comes with some originality. I still get lots of compliments. Ultimate inexpensive office scent, gym scent, summer gem. Can't go wrong with this one.

ShynePoFrag

Metallic, Citrusy and Fresh. Definitely a beautiful cheapie. 8/10

JSnipeZ

Wow. Opens with floral elegance and dries down to the most superb, smooth aquatic aroma. The spiritual successor to Cool Water. If you like Cool Water you can blind buy this easy. They are so similar yet have their own distinct character. I love fragrances that evolve so significantly from the initial spray - with Chrome you can literally smell the fragrance shifting as it dries down, beautiful. Layers, depth and sophistication are here making this very versatile. The definition of easy going and reliable for multiple occasions.

Amadevs

Yeah, it may be old-school, smells generic, synthetic and metallic.
But it gets the job done!
In my country the temperature can get over 40 degrees Celsius.
A few fragrances refresh your body and dont get cloying.
This one just works and performance is OK.

aidan_fragrance

this fragrance was given to me by my father, it is nothing special, a clean soapy metallic smell, it’s absolutely perfect for the gym but nothing else.
i wore this to the gym and was complimented on it, it’s perfect because it only last 1-2 hours which is the average gym session and it’s light enough that you won’t be suffocating anyone around you.

if you need a good gym fragrance go to walmart and pick it up for $20 but if your looking for a more versatile, long lasting fragrance, definitely stay away from this one.

for the gym this is a 7/10

in general i rate it a 4/10

ISmellPurple

This is very first scent I ever bought, when I was in high school. Found a bottle on discount at Shoppers Drugmart recently. It is exactly like CK One. My wife loves it on me.

FragranceAnon

A summer banger that fits in well beside scents like L'Eau d'Issey Pour Homme and Versace Pour Homme.

I don't think it smells "cheap" or "boring" as some have said. For me, it's clean, masculine, unique, easy to enjoy and a great value, especially since it's not as popular as it once was.

Suzanne's comment, below, that is smells like a "metallic 'blue' musk" sounds about right. Still feels as modern now as it did when I first came across it over twenty years ago.

An absolute classic, it's safe for casual or formal wear year round and especially shimmers in warm weather. Performance is above moderate. Thumbs up on this one.

JamesPawn

vintage 90's ck1 vs vintage chrome (this vintage version of chrome has lots of notes which are missing in the later versions ) (this 90's version of ck1 is alot more mellow and less harsh ) winner none. both are classic

2010's ck1 vs 2010's chrome winner chrome ( ck1s quality feel apart after being bought by coty turning into a very harsh unpleasant version of itself while chrome simply changed into more of a fresh version of its self .
chrome and ck1 vs cuba blue winner cuba blue
cuba blue has a fresh top note when you first spray it that puts it a lil over these two current versions

suzanne_ronald

METALLIC "BLUE" MUSK. Opens with a citrus-aromatic burst with clean, white-floral & fruity touches, that deepens into the floral-aromatic heart of jasmine & cyclamen with powdery, fresh-spicy & mossy touches, resting on a base of musk, shades-of-wood, and soft cardamom spice that comes out over time. In the background there is a soft aquatic quality that tilts the composition slightly blue. The oakmoss here is of the dusty variety, and lends additional powdery softness to the musky composition. On the skin, the jasmine & pineapple blend together with musky animalic prickle and together with the oakmoss overall give a metallic musky vibe in the air. In oversimplified terms you might call this a metallic CK One. Those hoping for a stronger CK One may (or may not) be disappointed, as this does outperform CK One, but with a sharper, metallic musky animalic quality that won't be for everyone, and overall I think this leans more masculine than CK One. Excellent performance for a light summer wearing experience. Enjoy!

DVDEK

Very boring and standard cheap summer fragrance. Good for a no brainer fragrance.

Tomott

Pretty standard masculine summer-spring fragrance. Quite cheap with solid projection for the price. It does have a "cheap" smell for this day and age and it may be considered as nothing special and maybe generic
7/10

rockologo

A good soapy one. Precursor of Halloween man hero, which I found very similar to this (with a more attactive bottle). 7/10.

pc1022

Absolutely love this one. I reach for this fragrance when I don't necessarily want to wear a fragrance. It's not sexy, it's not attention grabbing or really compliment worthy in my opinion, but bottom line you just smell and feel extra clean.

7.5/10

Ben Armband

From memory, wearing it in 2001, it a a simple, pleasant scent. Back then, being a 20yo man, it fit perfectly. Fresh, clean, youthful. I haven’t tried it since so I don’t know if the later formulations changed the vibe but, assuming it remained similar, this perfume is perfect for young man (or very strong willed woman) looking to bring people in based on a clean, soapy, marine vibe. Inexperience. Good but not great.

IceMell

Immediately, the opening is fresh with various citrus, rosemary and a mild coriander washed in metallic and aquatic notes. The woody-tonka-cardamom base pushes some sweetness from the very beginning. The citrus peels away a bit about an hour in and then it's aquatic, spicy, and woody, yet still fresh and mildly sweet. This is the DNA the rest of the line is built on, some closer than others. The drydown stays about the same for me for the duration of the fragrance. The projection is okay, about a foot or so for the first 3 hours, and the longevity on my skin is 4-5 hours. In cold weather, this isn't strong enough to hold up, but no one buys this as a winter scent. I find that in 90 degrees plus, I get a little more projection and the performance lasts a little longer. So even nearly 30 years after I first tried this, I will still wear it from time to time in very high heat.

Honestly, this is a product of its time. In the same period of the 90's I was still wearing Chanel's Pour Monsieur as my formal fragrance, Cool Water as my main casual fragrance, and CK One as my main warm weather scent. But I managed to get this for a great price with a watch and the after shave (lol) when it was still pretty new, so I added it to my warm weather rotation. Even when it was new, it wasn't novel, and it still isn't today. However, it is likeable, and while in off and on use over 30 years I can't remember 5 times that I've been complimented for wearing it, I also haven't had anyone tell me I stink or was choking them out, so there's that. If you only need one scent, this ain't it, but if you collect too many to count, well, this is probably in your collection already.

Vakariszl

I like 'blue line' fragrances. This one smells nice too, but the problem is it doesn't last at all. The only time I smell it is when I spray it, girlfriend says the same. I have a fragrance from zara and even that cheapie smells longer than this.

Jwebb79

Really love this.. Came across it when searching for a different 90s fragrance I had as a late teenager, but omg I love this.. So clean smelling, very fresh like just out the shower, or more so a long soak in the bath with your reminisant bath foam.
Smells very citrussy at the beginning, lingers nicely and lasts well all day

AquaticBlast

its a lovely scent, you can bathe in it without because it's so inoffensive.
lasts well beyond 8 hours on my clothes. Luckily i have the 200ml and won't run out of it.

blind buy safe
overall: 8/10

RonSmith

This is my second review.

I got my first bottle a week ago, it's a 200ml bottle from 2022 (i checked the batch code), i paid 55$ for it.

I don't know if Azzaro's Chrome got r another reformulation lately and i i'm definitely not a longevity or sillage freak, i care about the scent much more than the performance, But the scent is extremely weak, i take sniffs right after i sprayed it and it smells VERY LIGHT. I used to sample it in shops all the time and was very impressed by performance but the bottle i got is ridiculous! I don't know if it's something with the 200ml bottles (very unlikely) or something about the late batch code (September 2022) but the fragrance is far from what i remembered and i'm very disappointed.

If you are planning on buying one, try getting the oldest batch as possible.

Murph50

I love this stuff so much. It is very affordable and smells outstanding to me. The first time I smelled this it made me feel happy. It takes me back to Christmas morning growing up and getting bars of shaving soap in my stocking. That’s what the fragrance smells like to me—fresh, clean, aromatic. The performance, for me, is outstanding.I have a new batch and I get whiffs of it for 10 hours. I spray behind my ears, on the back of my neck, and a spray on the sleeve of each arm. I never spray my shirt collar, chest, etc, I only mention that bc if someone thinks they are having performance issues, it may just be how they are applying the fragrance. So good.

MM2140

Slices of lemon in a glass of icy water in hot summer day. That's it how Chrome smell like. I love it!

blood_and_wine

This on a tester strip smells amazing. When I tested it out in person in a store I went home and immediately ordered a bottle. On skin, it's a little bit different, a bit sweeter and the metallic note is toned down a bit. After a while you start noticing that it is synthetic and not incredibly complex. I really like how it smells regardless. It has moderate longevity but beastmode sillage.

The bottle is nice and thin but if it had a gradient like the EDP version, it would look amazing. Atomizer is ok, nothing special. Although the cap feels cheap and at first it was holding the bottle but after a couple weeks it can't do that anymore, so don't get used to picking up the bottle by the cap.

For 35 euros (100ml), it's a very good buy if you're looking for a good summer fragrance.

8.5/10

jlog23

One of my first bottles way back when. Smelling a sample as we speak, I still love it. Metallic, floral, fresh, and zingy.

RECEP TULUMCU

Bright soapy freshness. It's not a simple scent - it's bright, fresh and clean, with a metallic note. Soapy, different from aquatic or citrus scents. Not revolutionary but unique. Easy to use, it won't be redundant even if you have many fresh scents.

Siurkus

Very Fresh fragrance for an affordable price too. It smells great and acts as a great skin/clothing scent as well. Can last for many hours even while outside. For personal experience, it powers past sweat as well. To me it has a fresh out of the shower kind of vibe to it. Simple, Cheap, Summer/Spring Fragrance.

therock

Azzaro this 1.oz and 6.8 different smells ,orginal 1 oz

BigBobRoss

Very basic metallic citrus scent

Smells like CK one but more metallic

Prefer Ck over this for sure

Once upon a time , a Nívea cream fell in love with a Carrier air-conditioner and they had Azzaro Chrome, cold Germanic politeness with French elegance. No no no, I will not start like this .

Buddha, Sidarta Gautama, said: Virtue exist in the middle. The middle path or the way of moderation in all things, speak about balance, harmony, and avoid every excess.

If Monsieur Haury made this fragrance by accident or carefully crafted I don't know because is the middle of something common and something extraordinary, therefore a masterpiece to me.
Why?

Ok, let me try to explain. Chrome is masculine, strong and light, basic and elegant, but also balanced and boring, homogeneous but void , firm and also ethereal , flat and complete , simple and interesting, but also minimalist and wholesome, everything of nothing - brilliant.
The reflection of Chrome is also due the public acceptance, average buyers with no taste for perfumes in general find chrome pleasant(and they are great reviewers sometimes) , dudes very shy to express themselves wear Chrome, for avoid public rejection, also the greatest connoisseurs also respect Chrome as a great composition of laidback classy style, so Chrome can be "seen" on people without any taste for fragrances and also very smart guys who choose carefully what they wear and the occasion, once again , the paradox remains, it is very intelligent this composition, very logical to me, appealing to the men of reason instead of evoke passion on the user and the crowd around him. But women's have a tendency to like this perfume, seems like a alpha male pedigree, not the teenager concept, the fullfiled adult of high achievements and maturity,

Please,

Think.About.Serenity.

Nothing to prove, it is what it is.

This is a infinite blue cold horizon, look like Chrome have no top notes, you go straight to the heart (heart?) , so it is like the fragrance step back once you smell, creating a sensation of depthness , void , ok, I have a better word, or better analogy, flying on the world's ozonic layer.

Chrome is decided, straight, cool , elegant , strong, balanced. Educated.

A Walli.

Best office scent ever.
This invisible, universal, paradoxal and stealthy character of Chrome make him a secret weapon. Have you heard about complex simplicity? That's what Chrome is!

Because, how can we grab the corner of a ball?

* A classic standard setting fresh and aquatic "blue" fragrance
* Nice citrus opening that falls into a gentle and fresh powder and soap scent on the drydown
* Perfect for all occasions and all ages
* Especially good Spring and Summer fragrance

* Has a TON of competition in the fresh and aquatic category
* Lacks a metallic edge like you find in Jaguar Classic Black that you would expect given its name

Azzaro Chrome is a fresh and aquatic style fragrance in the "blue" category that has become so popular nowadays. It made quite the splash -- pun intended -- when it first debuted, and still holds up today. It's got a great citrus opening that drys down into fresh powder and soap aromas. One thing that surprise me, though, is that it lacks a metallic edge to its aroma that I detect in the far less expensive Jaguar Classic Black. Given the name "Chrome," I would have expected this cologne to be far crisper than it actually is. This said, it's very clean, fresh and extremely pleasant and a great choice overall.

Chrome now has a ton of competition now in its own space. The most notable ones that come to mind are Bleu de Chanel, Versace Dylan Blue, Yves Saint Laurent Y, pretty much the entire Invictus line including the original, Platinum and Aqua, and so many more. Almost all of these are far more acclaimed and popular nowadays. Somewhat ironically, with time and competition Chrome has transformed from the trailblazer it was into one of the beginner's fragrances it was once considered a serious step up from.

To be clear, Azzaro Chrome is not dated by any means. It's a great cologne and it's more affordable than most blue fragrances. There are just so many more "blue" fragrances available now that I am hard pressed to recommend owning more than one bottle of Chrome. It's a great choice for one's first blue fragrance, but from there I'd suggest moving on.

This is a good wear for any occasion and any season, though it will certainly shine in Spring and Summer. It's good for all ages as well.

hverduyckt

a mere shadow of its former self...

skin scent and not so fresh or invigorating as before

jacobcedar

smells like a bar of Irish Spring soap. I don't hate the smell of Irish Spring soap but it doesn't excite me any either.

miket67

When I was a much younger man, and my fragrance collection consisted of 4-5 bottles, Chrome was proudly amongst them.
I wore this nice citrusy aromatic almost daily during spring and summer.
These days when I wear this, it brings back memories and reminds me of where I come from.
It's a welcomed blast from the past for me.

Ckipper0

This is just a really solid cheap and fresh fragrance - I think it smells great, and for the price is a no brainer to own.

I wear this when I golf or when I'm outside, and it works perfectly

Angelbeast56

This is the better Versace pour homme it last longer it projects more and it’s way cheaper !! It has the same note but this one does not have the harsh lemon middle note that pour homme has I don’t hate it I just think it throws me off you can get a 200ml bottle of this for cheap that a 50ml of pour homme blind buy this 100%

stmad12

I picked this up as a blind buy for like $20 a while ago. For what I spent, I can’t say I’m disappointed. It’s a fresh and clean, really shower-gel type of scent that’s as inoffensive as they come. For some reason I associate this smell with an elementary school
principal or a middle-aged dad who just bought the easiest and cheapest option, and honestly it fills that role well. It’s nothing fancy, nothing exotic, and nothing particular artistic. Just a generic fresh, soapy, manly type of scent.

It’s selling for over $100 at some retailers though - if you pay anywhere near that, you’re getting ripped off. It’s a solid cheapie in the $20-30 price point but I wouldn’t pay much more than that.

Ilikewhatilike

My scent when I was a younger man. Quality (it, not myself as a younger man)

dantheman352

Azzaro Chrome is crisp, fresh and clean. A true soapy shower gel feel fragrance which is very good indeed. It reminds me of Nautica Voyage minus the apple note.

This fragrance is a crowd pleaser, it is a sure bet for summer, since it works very well in the heat.

JFragrances

It’s just good, nice scent.

Michel Silencieux

A fresh strong opening of citrus. I don’t get much neroli or pineapple in the opening, but the rosemary is noticeable. After an hour there’s some floral notes and I smell mainly oakmoss and light woody notes. It does have a metallic sharpness, but also to my mind, the Petrichor smell of rain falling on dry moss. Definitely synthetic, but pleasant and refreshing. The dry down has a soapy cleanliness.

I’m a bit “meh” about this one, but I’ve come to like it as ladies around me seem to like it more? It lasts up to 6 hours on my skin with moderate projection for the first 2 hours. It shares some common DNA with CK One, but this is more masculine and less floral and lasts a lot longer. This fragrance works well in hot weather.

Chrome Extreme is probably the scent I prefer in this line of Chrome fragrances.

REY760

Synthetic smelling, citrus, grapefruit, orange, odor and then turns into a soapy smell. I would imagine people wearing this during the summer and it will last. I would prefer The Most Wanted line that Azzaro is offering over chrome because it "explores" more with the notes that it is offering but if you want to be safe then this one could be for you.

Afc_Croatian

My fragrance collector colleague gifted a 30ml bottle to me when I was in high school. (One of many from him).

Upon opening, I’m reminded of my days working part-time, Chrome opens with that synthetic bomb of clean citruses and chemicals. Immediately it turns to more of a fresh vibe, like CK one.

For a free bottle, I’ll take it, and the nostalgia that comes with it.

6/10

Ang023

For some reason this scent kind of gets boring it’s not bad but boring

NamertBaykus

Citrusy, clean, soapy scent. Really fresh and inoffensive but somehow awesome and quite masculine at the same time. Quite better than his brother CK One I'd say.

Good longevity and sillage.

McG1993

Azzaro's Chrome is a terrific fragrance. It's clean and citrusy, aromatic and somewhat sweet. Pineapple, lemon and rosemary are the most prominent notes and they certainly blend very well. If you're a fragrance guru, however, I can see where this one might be overshadowed by newer, complex, more inspired fragrances. Chrome isn't groundbreaking but it's simple, friendly and bears somewhat of a resemblance to Dolce & Gabbana's Light Blue Pour Homme. It's not intoxicating in any way and will always be safe for the office and/or casual daily wear.

isakasyv

It smells very good! But as a collector it gets easily lost inbetween other fragrances cause its so simple in its nature. But that simplicity is refreshing sometimes when its really hot, so i do reach for it now and then in the summer.

mwtx

Don’t know how this classic isn’t atleast a 4.2/4.3… 4 at the very least.

The best cheap fragrance I’ve ever smelled, mind you I haven’t smelled a ton of them. I do hear there are good options out there.

This is the fresh out the shower casual evening/night king in my opinion. That metallic freshness is unmatched from anything I’ve smelled.

I believe this scent is timeless because of the metallicness.. don’t see it ever getting discontinued. As long as Azzaro is around, this will probably be around.

I definitely wouldnt wear this trying to impress anyone, but it’s great to wear around the house or to run some errands.

8/10. Nothing mind blowing, but serves its purpose as a casual freshie and serves it well.

Mario1233

This is my favourite summer scent! Perfect for blind buy or a gift for young man or a teenager.

My comment is just one sentence, Old is Gold!

WSIBWAOY

When I was very a young dude, I needed a frag. Went into a nice perfumery shop, smelled all of them, checked the prices, and bought this one. Then stayed with it for a few years. This is a real deal stuff, it's a good men's fragrance. I haven't used it for many many years now, I have moved on to some more expensive things, but I still remember the smell. It is classy as letter F.

Arto Alanenpää

I have some really old version of this. The metallic of this freshness is something else and pops out in really good way. This was the reason for me to get more Azzaro like Wanted by night

cmirel87

this reminds me of Versace pour Homme because bith are floral freshies... the difference is that this one is more white floral and VPH has rose in it... I would say that both can be unisex fragrances because of the floral nuances in both...

SoFresh21

What else is there to say about this absolute legend?

When I first got into fragrances, Chrome was one of my first purchases. This was more than 15 years ago.

I think the performance is a bit weaker than I remember. But the scent itself still smells awesome. Freshness and cleanliness in a bottle. Perfect for summer/spring days and maybe even summer nights if you have nothing else to wear. I can't see anyone hating this unless you overspray it. I'd say one spray on each arm and one spray on each side of the neck. 4 sprays and you're good.

I have owned more than 50 different fragrances at various price points. Chrome got me more compliments than Versace Man Eau Fraiche and Nautica Voyage combined, back in the day.

I think I will always own this because I love it and so does everyone who smells it on me.

Ben88

Ck one opening, nautica voyage dry down, soapy fresh

taviestj

One of my favorite 'clean' scents. Smells fresh out the shower, clean and refreshing. Better in the summer, but a good all year long scent. Office, interview, date, or just around the house safe scent. If inside an office in close area, three spray at max is sufficient. Longevity is pretty decent, I get about 5hrs at max. I always keep this in my collection 8/10

Funky_Monk1988

I remember this as one of my first fragrances when i was a kid, back in the 90's. Now it smells a bit dated and synthetic to me.

Cultlens

My first Azzaro Fragrance : sadly this doesn't work for me, very weak on my skin, after about 30 mins it juts disappears, luckily i bought it in a sale and it was very reduced, wearable for the office as no one will notice.

XOXO_marcel

This is sooooo fruity and delicious! Clean & fresh, and surprisingly STRONG. This is a bold scent insofar as it wants to be noticed, but it's also a safe choice, since it would be hard for someone to dislike it. It has a gelatin vibe like Bleu de Chanel, but it's fresher and simpler. It also reminds me a bit of Sauvage, but lighter and with pineapple. Chrome is so wonderfully well-blended that even though I can pick up on all of the listed notes individually, they go together like one beautiful, rare fruit.

redmondpaul

Off the top I get white floral, citrus and a metallic smell (hence the name chrome lol) but that's about it. Personally I don't think it last's more than 30-45 min, after that you have to get really close. A old workhorse back in it's day, but I think it's a wrap on this. Not offending in anyway, just played out at this point and doesn't offer any longevity.

TheRefinedGentleman

Unbiased review: This is to me a must have,
It's a great fresh smell and great for after shower or for a hot day I will always wear this if I go out for breakfast...

The smell is not mind blowing but it's just so fresh and clean literally like the name, when I smell it I think of a white sand beach or a high end pool, it won't turn heads but people will still compliment you.
Smell 8/10

Longevity is good I would give this one 6-7 hours which is good for a fresh fragrance.
Longevity 8/10

Value: you are getting an awesome fresh fragrance which you can get a 6oz for $70, it's a must have in the collection and great for after showers, hot days, for the gym or even those days you are stumped on what fragrance to wear so overall you can't go wrong with Azzaro chrome.

Overall : 9/10

Joocebawks808

Fresh, clean, fruity, and affordable. I'd recommend this fragrance for daytime use during the hotter months. Perfect for the gym. I can't imagine offending anyone with this one. Completely safe to blind buy. Performance and sillage is moderate, but at this price point I'm not mad and you can really go heavy on the trigger. Bottom line, this fragrance will make you smell nice for under $30.

Tracee.myra

A reliable go to. Inexpensive and fresh. This is the type of cologne you keep a small bottle of in your car just in case you need to smell good on the fly.

rawzner

The best way to describe the scent is a clean linen shirt. A year or two ago I bought a fragrance oil for my dispenser labelled as 'clean linen' and this is the exact same scent, no difference. If this is your thing I can definitely see this being the fragrance for you. However if you're looking for a more woodsy masculine fresh scent, I would not go for this one as it leans towards a more floral scent, even more so than citrus. I'd say the bottle matches the scent, it's definitely a very light blue scent and just reminds me of clothes just out of the wash.

Personally I am not a fan, I can only see myself wearing this as a home scent and even then I find fragrances I'd much rather be wearing such as Armani Diamonds. Would I hate wearing this scent? No, I think it's a safe clean scent however I wouldn't consider this masculine or 'sexy'. However, with the price of this you can't go wrong if you want to smell clean and inoffensive. Unfortunately for me, I will be selling this fragrance as I do not see myself wearing it.

StankFrank

Poor man’s Platinum Égoïste. Was nice in the 90s but reformulations have hurt today’s version. Used to keep a small shiny bottle in my 300zx back in the day. Gave away my bottle of the current formulation. Like most Azzarro frags, good value if you like the scent. Longevity & projection are very good at this price point.

Aditya chatterjee

This is blind buy gem for me and trust me its the best blind buy fragrance i ever have. Its vintage fragrance and have its own character. So soothing and long lasting upto 6 hr what can we more want with blue fragrance. Its better then chrome united but azzaro chrome legend (old batch) is best flanker till now. Overall
Fragrance: 10/10
Longivity: 8/10
Silage: 7/10
Versatility: 7/10

Wacaz

Got a 200ml at very good deal so blind bought it.
After 26 years of launch, this scent still doesn't feel dated. It is fresh, clean, slightly creamy, not citrus heavy fragrance. Easy to wear on any occasion, office friendly and moderate performing fragrance.
Different enough from your typical blue fragrances.
Overall 8/10

Guitar 2016

It is a nice scent , Fresh , Clean and Bright. It opens up with like semi sweet fresh citrusy and floral notes in the background then dry down is creamy musky woody. This is perfect for the spring and summer and I like AZZARO CHROME for Men EDT. Longevity is average.

If you like the old barbershop scents that will remind you of your father or even your grandfather then this perfume is for you. I personally do not like those types of perfumes but this perfume is a beast in the summer. It is literally the only perfume you will need all summer.

It will not offend anyone and it will smell like you just came out of the shower. It is an easy compliment getter, easy to wear and smells soapy.

I personally do not like to wear because it reminds me too much of my father. I would 100% though if you are looking for a summer scent.

stoychoexpress

Today I bought it again for the second time, a 200 ml bottle and I am very satisfied, a quality spring-summer fragrance that is sexy and very long-lasting. Highly recommend to everyone!

Enrium

Chrome is an inoffensive fresh masculine scent, ideal for warm weather. Aptly named, there is a hint of the metallic present, which doesn't sound pleasant, but actually works well here. My sample is recent, and I suspect that it has undergone reformulation, maybe multiple times, as I don't get many of the notes listed below. Still, I quite like this scent.

Chrome opens with cool citrus notes - more bergamot than lemon - with a hint of pineapple adding a tropical edge. I'm not a fan of pineapple, but it is an excellent, unexpected addition here. Aquatic and slightly aromatic thanks to some soft herbal notes, it is pleasant and refreshing.

It stays light and aquatic, but the metallic accord emerges as it develops. It is hard to pinpoint what exactly is causing the metallic accord, but I would guess that it is some synthetic hedione-like lab-created molecule in the current formulation. It still works well. In addition, I get some very subtle, clean florals and a nice peppery note, adding a hint of spice, and I think there is an unlisted tea note adding freshness at its later stages.

It becomes musky as it fades, still fresh and lightly metallic until final fade. I get no oakmoss, just a hint of woodiness as it becomes a skin scent, light and transparent until the end. Sillage is moderate and longevity is weak, as to be expected from a light, summertime day scent.

Definitely masculine in my opinion, Chrome features a rare example of a good metallic accord in fragrance. Interesting and pleasant - even in its current formulation - I would be interested in comparing it to the vintage original. 3.5/5.

Rosdahl@0030

This is a good inoffensive freashie for those hot days on the beach, however the most I get on my skin at most is at least 4-5 hours not really the kind for impressing women I would call this more a gym scent than anything as opposed to wearing this on a date.

I give this a solid 7.5/10 get this more for the summers guys. Lol. 😉✌

caifan

Azzaro Chrome is a citrus, metallic and aromatic fragrance.

Azzaro Chrome can already be considered a classic fragrance for how long it has been on the market. Its aroma is well known and recognizable. It opens with citrus and fruity notes in a tropical style, which makes me immediately imagine myself near a beach. As the minutes go by, the presence of some floral and musky notes increases that provide a metallic sensation, but pleasant and remains so until the end of its development.

Chrome is an excellent fragrance to wear during spring and summer, mainly for daytime activities, outings to the beach or outdoors.

Although I think it has undergone some reformulations, it continues to have a regular performance, with me it maintains its 8 hours, and its wake is noticeable at least at a meter.

Azzaro Chrome is a fragrance that, for me, deserves a place on a par with other classics such as Acqua di Gio, Cool Water, L'Eau d'Issey Miyake. It is also one of the fragrances with the best price-performance ratio you will find.

StinkGood

Lemony, fresh, peppery goodness in a bottle! One of my favorites after all these years. Chrome is SOLID! Even after the "reformulations" it's still a top contender. As others are saying below, it feels a little watered down compared to my signature frag Chrome days in the early 2000's, but it's not drastically different. I'm 39 now and I'll GLADLY wear this today for those spicy metallic notes that it's known for. The coriander is a PERFECT mix with the lemon and Bergamot to really make you stand out.

If you're tired of the new wave men's frags, it's always nice to take it back a few years and go with a classic.

ChilledSpice

Probably my most complimented fragrance. The perfect, casual summertime scent.
Not the most interesting, but still very good.

Dark Owl

This really is a superbly timeless fresh fragrance, no particular note stands out to me and it comes across as a slightly more masculine variant of CK One, not that they are identical but there are similarities. I love how Azzaro Chrome (and CK One) smells but alas I find it a bit too linear, on my skin it stays the same from beginning to end, I typically prefer fragrances that change a little more over time, this does smell fantastically fresh & clean though!

dsgnmind

I write my reviews for my own future reference.

The initial opening reminded me of shower gel, or shampoo, almost medicinal, like Selsun Blue. As it dried down it's alcoholic bass stuck out. It's initial dry down was fresh, soapy in the way your skin smells after using soap or taking a shower (as opposed to smelling like soap itself). It's ok. I had the regular on my left arm and the intense on my right. I would prefer the intense, which had a slightly different and more distinct character (which I'm mixed about). I've tried Chrome at the stores a few times but always preferred others. Same this time around. The whole category of freshly, stepping out of the shower fragrances are not for me.

Ariel-Frag77

Ok, lets sit on it. If you have Nautica Voyage or CK one, don't buy this one... Is totally redundant, 95% of similarities. In fact the only one difference is the metallic notes in Chrome.. Don't grab this one unless you want to have that metallic note. Not recommended for night at all... If you want to project decently, you have to really pull the trigger, at least 10 sprays. Not bad scent at all among the freshies is a really good one, however there are better ones. If you are tight with your budget, try this one, is a safe one and doesn't dissapoint. For some reasons it has this strange "wow" effect mostly in girls 🤯.... Nevertheless, girls are always complicated and ironically they like basic stuff.

florin__

serial chrome user: new bottles always feel diluted compared to used ones, i think it’s why people keep saying reformulated. you can open a new bottle when you get to half and spray both so you always have a constant blend

Adriennne

This is really amazing. I got it for my dad and he loved it. Fresh, manly, long lasting. I love the pyramid/notes. Smells expensive and clean. One of the best!

gonzalez-alcantar01

For me this is a 30 dollar fragrance smelling better than bottles from Saks and Neimans.

GilbertGrand

I bought this fragrance from the Ross discount shelf, for $34.99. Since then I've been wearing it daily to get a full feel for the fragrance.
The opening smells distinctly like a hairspray that my mother owned when I was like 6. Once that dries down you get the heart of flowers on this. The flowery mid is definitely my favorite part of the whole fragrance by far, because after that you can't smell it anymore. Yes I might get slight wiffs here and there, but it's all skin level at around the 3-4 hour mark, then I have to apply more.
It's not a bad fragrance by any means, just lacking on longevity.

SenselessReviews

"Chrome" is 1996 in a bottle. It is Will Smith welcoming you to earth by punching you in the nutbag. It is Michael Jordan and Bugs Bunny hurling basketballs at Bob Dole's head. It is Ross and Chandler making out in a top-secret office while suspended from the ceiling by wires.

"Chrome" is unisex to a T, with one half smelling like Dolph Lundgren's droppings and the other half like Bette Midler's dominatrix whip. The ladies love this one, as it was enough to push me over the "getting my nutbag touched for the first time since the OJ verdict" finish line!

At this point, who doesn't know "Chrome"? It has hung around the block so long it might as well be Joey McIntyre. I just hope Azzaro does not repeat the mistake it made with "Wanted" by trying to make it seem more manly by sprinkling tiny portions of Dave Coulier's beard stubble in each bottle.

tadisniffs

amazing very fresh

Cam8

Super versatile and smells well above its price point. If you hate powdery fragrances like myself, don't worry when you see powdery listed; it's not powdery at all in my opinion. The floral notes are very masculine compared to other florals out there nowadays.
For me personally, the projection is good and it lasts a long time. It just seems to work well with my skin.
I've worn this stuff everywhere and I've only received positive feedback. Amazing choice for a younger guy.

krysdh

I purchased this cologne for my husband. He likes it and I love it on him. My nose tells me it’s a clean, breezy, powdery scent. Not baby powder….. I love to get right up next to him and breath it in deep. It gets the pheromones going. This cologne is great but it could be amazing if they would tweak it a little to make it last longer and project a smidge further. Of course, low projectivity means having an excuse to get a little closer ;) I don’t like really strong colognes that knock you down just walking in the room. I like it a little more intimate. I want my man to smell good, clean, and sexy which is what this cologne is.

It trumps Sauvage, Bleu Electrique, & 1k which are
colognes I buy for my son who is 19. Sauvage & 1K are super strong!

JupiterMoon

This is a sharp and sour fragrance. It is probably the dominating pineapple note, and the other strong top notes like the neroli, rosemary and citruses. These top notes take over the fragrance for the whole journey. This is quite strong and has good longevity, especially for a cheaper scent, but the "metallic" quality makes it a love it or hate it kind of fragrance so I do not recommended a blind buy.

dmd63

Great initial aromatic blast. I can´t figure what it is, but is great.

Is a room filler and leaves a good scent behind you too. Longevity is amazing and projection is also good.

Great for summer time.

OmarBlue

It is very similar to CK one, but with less emphasis on floral notes. I like them both, but unfortunately, I am not very fond of these blends of floral notes that smell like no particular flower. In addition, the cedar note is nice but it makes those two perfumes more generic and predictable. I got this as a blind buy but I am not regretful since it is cheap.

buggaluggachug

this scent is nostalgic to me in a sense it smelled like the hairspray me and my mom used when i was in middle school. not in a bad way at all, i always loved that smell. you get the lemon and florals in this mainly, making it a fresh, clean, summer scent. i pick up like a hint of cinnamon too which i don't know which note that would be comparable to. this is definitely one of my most favorite summer scents and i cant wait to wear it in this upmcoming summers heat. this is a scent i will buy for the rest of my life and i have a decent sized collection. if you are hesitate to pull the triggers, here's me telling you to go for it! great pick up for the price point. doesnt project loud but around 8 hours longevity for me. chrome extreme and chrome sport are good too! (chrome sport being very similar to this, just less florals and more of a fresh take) i really wanna try chrome pure. i didnt enjoy chrome aqua.

isakasyv

A nice simple freshie from the 90s, citruses and florals with a metallic note. deserves more love in my opinion

TexiCaliSlim

My favorite dumb reach for Hot Texas summers days.
It smells like a matured version of Tommy & CK1.
Heavy blast of Lemon in the opening but dies cleanly.
This is like a crisp white T shirt.
Nothing spectacular but if you can pull it off; it's subtleties are it's own unique charm.

Crash000001

If you liked CKOne, but hate that it won’t last more than 2 hours. Then Chrome might scratch that itch.

I actually like chrome better than CKOne, but don’t really love either.

My wife thinks it smells great, especially out of the shower. We both get clean soap 🧼 vibes.

WGG

I've a sample from Notino. CK One was '94, this '96. The perfumers shown are different but this is like an 'inspired expression'. I haven't tried others in the line apart from the Aqua flanker - different, like Mandarino di Amalfi with basil, decent performance, a banger IMO. This is basically a pleasant, versatile, enjoyable freshie, moderate performance, prices (£20 for 100ml) represent good value.

Kreed

This is a beautiful floral citrus scent. It's a safe, pleasant scent, won't offend anyone. Best worn: casually in warm weather. Special in it's own way, but it's not a date scent, not a night out scent, not a formal scent, not a head turning scent, not a very unique scent. So good when you don't really intend to use a fragrance, but still have something on. This is definitely a go to. I'll get a 100ml bottle next spring.

piacrdn

It's okay. I'm not a fan of the strong burst of lemon at the opening as it reminds me of scented bleach/bathroom cleaner. It gets better after a few seconds though. I reckon it can make for a good dumb reach cheapie if you still don't have one.

korleis

Opening is citric and white floral but it quickly becomes powdery-soapy with a slightly creamy wood and musky base. To my nose this smells a lot like baby powder.
I see reviews saying this is weak, mine actually performs like a beast. 8-10 hours and then a bit faded but still noticeable close to skin. You can smell it on your shirt the day after.
I like it but I don’t love it. It’s good value for the money and the bottle looks good. It’s inoffensive.
I see the resemblance to CkOne but only for the first minute. Chrome immediately goes in another direction, to a slightly more masculine smell whereas CkOne goes more floral, green unisex.

Vat1cano

Fresh, Citrus, sorta soapie. It is the perfect gym or after shower scent. Great for those really got days too. I tried it on at Macy's and was like Holy fuck this smells good. As I walked off and kept smelling my arm.. Memories flares up in my mind and I remembered almost every cholo would wear this in High School. This fragrance could probably be the reason for the rise of unintended teen pregnancies because some of these cholos were not good looking at all, I mean yikes. But this smell could Definiately explanation the phenomenon.

bigblue1

Remains one of a few citrus aromatics worth wearing, pleasant and polite. Isn't weighed down with heavy base note aromas that designers are so infatuated with. For those of you who think Azzaro Chrome doesn't last...yesterday morning my wife mentioned she could still smell the cologne I had applied the day before, like almost eighteen hours earlier. The cologne? Azzaro Chrome...one spray to the chest, one to the back of the wrist and dabbed to each side of my neck. This stuff might be ancient, not the latest "in" thing with the snobbish fragrance crowd, but Chrome is still here, and will be long after the demise of countless citrus aromatic failures being peddled by the industry. Chrome still sells, period. Gee, I wonder why.

This used to be absolutely great and my favorite cologne around 2004-till it quit lasting, I'd say around 2014 It would last forever and more compliments than any of my Fords, Marlys, or Creeds of today, BUT today it just doesn't last and it's not worth even buying.

Cliquott

It’s very weak. After 2 hours Chrome turns into a old friend who disappears, and this is very sad because its smell is really really nice. It’s a clean-acuatic with a wonderful metallic vibe that makes it some kind of futuristic, but I can’t say I love it, so I put “ok”.

Friends of Azzaro you need to fix the longevity issues.

TREVRmusic

REALLY nice fresh smell but it's gone within 40 minutes - miraculously enough. They should absolutely create a higher concentration version because I think the fragrance is world-class easy to wear. I use this as a quick spritz dropping my gf off somewhere or after a shower before bed. It's borderline useless to me otherwise.

Dustin1250

Soapy blast at the top. Very clean and fresh great for pretty much anywhere especially in the summer. I thoroughly enjoy this scent. And performance is solid.
Scent 8/10
Longevity 7/10
Sillage 7/10
Price 8/10

BennyDelacroix

Loved this scent for price I can understand the lack of performance for this price point I use as a gym, lunch, and lounging cologne not for being around too many people as it is a quality for price scent in comparison with others doesn’t smell as luxe. I give it a solid 7/10

Afc_Croatian

Has a synthetic aquatic scent to it, good price for it however try it first before you buy a big bottle.

sameenuk

Wearing this today. Opening was a bit generic and weak. Its not an unpleasant scent. Its a bit shower fresh but seems so much linear than the scent profile suggests. I'm not sure why that is the case. Maybe its a reformulation. I think this is a bit of a disappointment. Performance wise - lasts a while but becomes a skin scent in an hour with a liberal application on the skin. But it is a summer scent anyway.

Cologne-man93

Very powerful and headache inducing. Glad I only bought the sample bottle. Smells very cheap too

discardedandroid

In the same lane as Nautica Voyage, but opens up pretty harsh, and ends up smelling like a photocopier. Like warm printer paper. Synthetic. Good value though. Dislike.

Llaszlo

Happy 25th anniversary to this gem! Very unique, very original scent which always reminds me to the 90's however it's still standing in 2021! A classic! Wish I could say only good things about its longevity / sillage but unfortunately it lacks on those ones. Well, nothing is perfect! I still highly recommend it!

Gaz85

I bought this as a blind buy from the Debenhams closing down sale for £25. It is a very fresh summer smell that i love to wear for the gym and around the house. Good longevity and great value for money, I think this is even cheaper since i bought it so you cant go wrong. A person with dozens of fragrances may not like this but it is definitely a great cheap fresh buy.

a_c_thompson

Bright metallic freshness.
I've read, and heard, people say this is just another basic aquatic or soapy clean scent. I don't get that. Yes it is bright, fresh, and clean. But to me it's neither a basic aquatic, a basic shower clean, or even a basic citrus scent.
Now I'm not saying it's some revolutionary fragrance. No. But I have a lot of soapy, aquatic, and citrus scents and this is sometya little different.
The name is fitting. Chrome. I definitely get a metallic vibe from this. Like a shined up, polished, motorcycle on a hot summer day.
It's an easy wear. No one will be put off by it. But I also feel that even if you have a bunch of fresh scents, buying this won't be redundant.

GenyL

Im very surprised with this one. It last ages on me which is rare for a freshie. It has the right amount of spices imo. I just love the fresh smell! So simple, clean and addicting. I ordered one!

Fragaddict123

Another aquatic that shines in summer
Nothing special yet good enough for all ages
It’s lasts for a good while between 6-7 hours
Projection is good as well
for the price you can’t look the other way with this one

james4sk8

A decent cologne that you have smelt thousands of times before. It basically smells like a clean mans soap with a hint of Rosemary. It’s okay nothing special but if you want just an everyday out of shower cologne this will do. Reminds me of cool water in a way.

Xzotic Smells

Chrome is one of the best cheapie colognes that you can purchase. It has all the wow factors as upscale bottles have and possibly more. It has great sillage, and it lasts very long on me, I can still smell it very well the next day. The notes give you a righteous summer smell of blue seas and a good time. It doesn't smell metallic or alcohol like upon initial spray. If you're looking for a compliment it will be there, especially since everyone wants to smell of aventus. This is my 3rd bottle of this I started with the 1.7 and lastly I have the 6.7 bottle. It's definitely a freshie, and one that is of safe environment wearing. As always! try it for yourself, everyone has different DNA!!!

chrisk252

Fresh, soapy, bit citrusy, aquatic, bright fragrance. Easy and versatile. Not the most natural, but pleasant all the same. Doesn't make a distinctive impression but very likable. If I didn't have a hundred frags already, this would be a nice addition as a fresh, no thinking, grab andn go scent.

Update: After wearing several sprays over several days, I've decided it feels too artificial for me. Definitely has a certain perfumey aromachemical vibe whereas I much prefer a natural vibe. Scent: 6

Dmtmzz

Ah, this was my signature scent for the entirety of middle school. Just a basic fresh, clean citrusy cologne that's about a dime a dozen. But it does it's purpose being easy to like and inoffensive. So I can't hate on it too hard. Performance isn't great. Lasts about 4-5 hours on my skin before it turns into a skin scent, and projects decently as well. This would do the job just fine as a school, office or gym scent. Just a nice dumb reach

Ellsa

I had an 5 ml sample from Sephora that I received with the perfumes I bought and just now I realized this is a male perfume I hate the masculine vibes into a woman perfume but for some reason I loved this so much that I wanted to take the big bottle when I realized that I can't find Azzaro Chrome for Women just for Men. What can i say than, I would love this smell on a man. This is a sexy smell, fresh, clean one. I associate this smell with a man who is confident, sportive but not the type who is wearing gym suit all day long on the street, but the type of a man that just finished his hour of sport and came back from the shower clean and fresh and getting ready to go to office. I think this is suitable for summer day and also night while after a walk with your girlfriend you came back home, taking your shower, you wear this perfume and going to bed with your girlfriend for a sexy night ( I said sexy not wild because for a wild night I imagine another smell ). So guys this comes from a woman's view.

Chesco

A drop dead GORGEOUS gf of mine that lived with me back in year 2002 bought this for me for Christmas.
I.fucking.HATED.it!
I never wore it and i felt horrible each time i saw it as the bottle was never used just sitting there on our dresser forever, until the year we broke up...lol

This is some walmart cheap crap, it was cheap smelling bad on release, i couldnt even imagine how much worse it smells with 20 years of reformulations..lmao :D

1/5 Woofs

BlackAdderLXX

Ok. This is a decent frag but nothing to write home about. This probably wouldn't replace your regular shower fresh cologne but if you don't have one this would be about as good as many of the others in this crowded space. Projection and longevity are below average (though it does smell good on clothing). If this had been the only warm weather shower fresh scent I had tried I might have considered buying a full bottle as the price is good, but that not being the case, I'll finish my sample and move on.

Cole73

smells like citrus hand soap. i don't wanna smell like this

anthonycball

Clean. Sharp. Metallic. If I had to pick an image to represent this fragrance... it's an ice-cold, piercingly sharp, straight edge razor blade with the remnants of soapy-clean shaving foam.

Azzaro Chrome is a well put together man just out of the shower, with a white terry cloth towel around his waist. Freshly shaven, with wet hair slicked back... all in one bottle.

I can't imagine a scenario in which this fragrance wouldn't work for anyone wanting to smell fresh, sharp and clean. A perfect "I don't want to have to over-think it" fragrance, especially for the price point. If this is what you're looking for in a fragrance, I'd recommend it.

Rating 7/10.

InkFragrance

Love this fragrance, it's cheap and smells very masculine. Awesome for hot sunny day

Gogiciano

I love the house of Azzaro. There is not much i dislike. So it hurts me that I don't like one of the most popular iconic fragrances they have. But i just can't like it. Its smells like a toilet refresher. And then they would call it "ocean breeze" or "blue active". You get the point. But the Chrome line is very solid and have some good flankers.

Alexdawolf

Plain and simple timeless classic, it never gets old and still one of the longest lasting freshies!!!
For me it's a big 👍

buggaluggachug

so like. idk, this one smells like a cinnamon, soapy hairspray to me. not in a bad way.

byronius5

On the test strip, this was one of the best smelling fresh scents I've ever come across, it was extremely pleasant. I remember thinking this would be an ideal beach fragrance for the peak of summer. I immediately wanted to purchase a bottle of this right after taking a whiff, or two, or three, or four...I asked the lady at the counter to spray a bit on my inner arm, just to make sure it would work well with my skin chemistry, and boy was I glad I did. Not two seconds after it went on me, the fresh, invigorating top notes were immediately replaced by the smell of slowly cooking piss and lemon juice on a hot flat top grill outside with no shade in the afternoon sun. Needless to say I didn't buy it, and it is the biggest frustration when you find a scent that you agree with so much in the bottle, but once it's on you it quickly becomes an olfactory nightmare. It only backs up the idea that the ultimate test of a scent is how it reacts with You. I will give it a thumbs up though, because it is so wonderful to smell, and I might even buy a small sample vial to sniff every now and then, but as for wearing Chrome, it cannot be for me, I am very sad to say.

d_maro

I like this as just an every day cologne. It is fresh without being fruity or flowery, long lasting, etc.

coolio17

This has prominent synthetic notes, with a metallic background and with a faint citrus and then a few floral notes that sweeten it up a bit.
Imo this cologne is better suited for the Fall and Spring where you can't easily choke people in the high heat or in closed heated rooms during colder weather.

For a freshy it is certainly long lasting and projects strongly. It can be cloying, can choke sensitive people and can cause headaches. It also tends to turn into a rather unpleasant scent when mixed with sweat, so avoid this if you sweat a lot.

Overall Azzaro Chrome has a nice fragrance, but it feels old-fashioned... it gives off old-school aftershave vibes. Certainly not unique and less so memorable, but at least it is loud and will be noticed, unlike other extremely weak freshies.

A typical "after-shower product" scent. It's a good choice for beginners, but there are better similar smells out there. If you want something similar to Azzaro Chrome, but modern and with more depth and character, I'd recommend trying out Rasasi Hawas.

tobaccoOUD

Superb 90s freshie with above average performance.
It is synthetic but not to the point where it gives you a headache like Versace Eros does.
Just buy it, it's great.

Arsenal Till I Die

Just recently got a bottle of this for peanuts as a dumb reach and for being a 25 year old fragrance it still smells fantastic. I get that Ck One vibe for sure but this really makes me think of cool water as well but not because they smell alike but because they share that ultra clean, like fresh laundry vibe. A very masculine, cool, crisp and clean fragrance that’s a real people pleaser. I got two unsolicited compliments the first day I wore it which is very rare for me.

Azzaro Chrome EDT Men opens with a moderate projection of fresh citrus, fruity, and white floral accords. The opening is fresh, sharp, uplifting, summery, mild, versatile, and very pleasant. The bergamot, lemon, and pineapple create the fruity/citrus opening; both the lemon and bergamot are more prominent than the pineapple. The jasmine and neroli are noticeable, the bring a white floral, and citrus accord. The combination of the neroli and jasmine is closer to the citrus floral than to the white floral. The cyclamen is a particular note; it adds very fresh air and breeze touch with powdery nuance. The rosemary and coriander are support notes; they sit two steps behind add their spicy scent. The rosemary is more noticeable than the coriander, herbaceous, and slightly minty. As the fragrance commences to dry down, various mild woody tones develop; they come up as fresh and aromatic wood, closer to the rosewood and cedar. The rest of the notes remain in the far back of the fragrance. The fragrance has a simple opening to dry down transition. The citruses are sharper, bright, and more prominent during the opening. As time passes, they lose intensity; also, the woody accords develop and become projecting towards the dry down. Once Azzaro Chrome EDT has reached its full dry down, it can be summarized as a moderate projection, slightly sweet, citrus lemon, bergamot, spicy rosemary, citrus-white-floral neroli, jasmine, cyclamen, woody rosewood, and cedar fragrance with musky, mossy, and fruity accords. The fragrance feels airy, aquatic, breezy, casual, clean, delicate, diurnal, elegant, faint, floral, fresh, herbaceous, inviting, light, masculine, mild, moderate-quality, modern, playful, refreshing, short-lived, sour, sporty, versatile, woody, and pleasant.

It's Winter. I'm feeling extra fresh & crispy.

Have my nose pressed into my hand doused with this stuff as we speak and came on here to check if there was any PEPPER.

About mid drydown, I'm experiencing a soft, aquatic, pepper note. Could be the coriander.

Loving it, nothing else to see here that you haven't already seen with the other good reviews. I also sprayed my cardigan with Salt Air from Demeter.

So, now I am full mode of Floral, beach, marine vibes. Thank you and have a great night.

TaraRachelle

This is some wonderful stuff. I tested this at Ulta today, and I was shocked at how beautiful it smelled. I will say it seems more unisex to me than just masculine, but it smelled really fresh and clean and honestly very unique as well. I haven't smelled anything else like it, especially not in men's fragrances. My husband pretty much wears whatever I buy him, so this is on my list now. I passed over a bottle at TJ Maxx a couple months ago, and now I wish I had grabbed it. I think this is a pretty safe blind buy, and it's so pleasant and clean that it would be a good office or even gym scent as well.

RonSmith

I sampled this one several times, getting one as soon as i finish my Nautica Voyage bottle.
I love the scent , it's very fresh, musky, clean and safe. Getting random sniffs in the middle of the day satisfies me a lot.
Fragrantica tagged this one as a "Citrus" fragrance, i can barely detect any citrus here, it's just a pure and beautiful fresh/musky scent to my nose. I hope I'm not losing my mind here.
Performance is great for a freshy, a little better than my Nautica Voyage (2020 Batch) and twice better than Versace Pour homme.
Price is ridiculously low, and the scent is so safe that this one is 100% Blind-Buy worthy.

Highly recommended.

linhminh0607

nice fragrance, super safe scent. last about 6 hours on skin, great for its price and nice sprayer

Pavlos St

Very nice summery scent with good projection and affordable.

Xilef

This is 90% fresh cut grass, lemon, bergamont, neroli, and rosemary. It's not terrible but it smells too reminiscent of a wood cleaner/polish for me to enjoy. 4/10.

rick1098

This one is my warm/hot weather beater fragrance for work/gym now, replacing Nautica Voyage. Its very nice, soapy fragrance. Its name Chrome is fitting, as there is a metallic sort of soapy note to it. Im not sure how to describe it. Its not aquatic, but its definitely fresh! Not a sexy fragrance at all but if youre in the heat and moving, it is very appealing! Lasts a good amount of time and its cheap enough to reapply!
Scent:7.5/10
Longevity: 6.5/10
Projection: 6/10
Versatility: 8/10 Can work anytime but winter
Price Value: 10/10 CHEAPIE!!
Overall: 7.25/10

kylexora

My female cousin wore it back in 90s and I adore the the scent so much. Unlike the typical men perfume created during 90s, this one came out very soft compared to others so I found it not offensive for a teenage girl to wear it. Being drowned with that memory, I get myself a sample of Chrome recently and I wore it to work. Impressive!! The girl sitting next to me immediately ask what I'm wearing cause it smell good. Wow... I never expect that when I sprayed it this morning. Fresh, very straightforward yet still have the charm to impress. The notes here projected well for few hours and keep the freshness. For me, personally, I think my cousin version in 90s smells better than my version. Despite the generic smell, I would say this is a safe buy and safe to wear on any sunny day. Projection is average, sillage is average, staying power is average. It last about 4 hours on me, then it become too close to skin. I'm not going to buy a big bottle, just wanna finish my vial sample.

yourthemanowdog

early 2000's bottle smells alot different then the current 2016ish bottle which is still nice just weaker cheaper made . vintage bottle juice color is almost a yellow . vintage smells so much better very lovely but seems to fade fast like the current .

reechlee

Notes aside, to me, the scent has a vibe that speaks to the abstract idealism of masculinity in the 90's.

Abstract sense of idealism from the 90's. The kind of vibe from 90's Tim Burton - Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands. Also PeeWee's Playhouse or the movie Toys with Robin Williams. Themes aside, not necessarily generic, but they have these kind of ideal/abstract fictional places.

The presentation shares the same sense of idealism; as if the bottle only ever exists at the department store glass counter, or at home on your fragrance tray on your bathroom/vanity counter in front of a mirrored image of you buttoning up your shirt and wriggling your hand into your clasped wristwatch as you get ready to go out. As if this is the epitome of men's designer cologne (at the time).

Ubiquitous but something obscure about it at the same time.

CologneProfessor

I own it.... I definitely don't use it. Not really my smell.

Aventeros

Smells like metallic laundry detergent. Clean and fresh, but smells cheap. I used to love this back in the day, but I've outgrown it. Not a bad high school scent.

Scotsman1981

I'm sure this fragrance smells great to most; however, I was really quite allergic to this scent. I've seen other reviews that say this has a pretty strong "synthetic" top note and I have to say I agree with those sentiments 100%. Within 10 minutes of spraying myself with this fragrance my tonsils would swell up to the point that I could barely breathe. I am so stubborn though. I kept this in my collection and would try it from time to time thinking "well, this time will be different, perhaps I had a cold the last time I tried it" and bam, same reaction everytime. One year when I was moving to a new location and downsizing, a 7/8ths full bottle of this fragrance fell victim to the trash can. Wish I had known someone at the time to give it to so someone could have gotten use out of it. This is the only fragrance I've ever smelled that caused this allergic reaction in me and I'm not sure what element caused that reaction, but would love to know!

ivaylops

It was my signature scent in highschool. I don't care if it smells synthetic to some, I'll always have it in my collection. And to be honest the performance on my skin is very very good, even with the current formulation.

autumnrequiem

My mother gave me this fragrance as a gift when I was in high school and I really loved wearing it. There are a lot of memories I have from back then where this fragrance was present.

Almost 15 years later my taste has really expanded and I own several niche and designer fragrances. I got a bottle today after 15 years of not using it and have to say it has stood the test of time.

There are much better fragrances out there on the market for sure, but this one is one of the best you can get for such a low price. This pretty much got me started on my fragrance journey and I'm sure it's done that for many people as well.

Heles

Sprayed on some tissue paper, the scent reads as a synthetic watery aromatic lemon rind. On my skin it is decidedly much more aromatic and woody, projecting for maybe 1-2hrs and staying as a skin scent for a few hours.

I'm honestly not the hugest fan of the fragrance on its own, however while testing it instore I accidentally sprayed some on top of my existing perfume (Byredo Velvet Haze) and was greeted with a lovely creamy pinacolada scent with a background of woods and musk.

I am now addicted to the combination and will probably try using Chrome to lighten up other fragrances in my collection too as we move from Winter to Spring

richmilton

Still the best Chrome of all the Chrome's from Azzaro including Intense, Legend, Extreme, etc. Although Chrome Aqua (Versace Man Fraiche clone) is a close second. I disagree with the original Chrome being "dated" because it still gets me tons of compliments even though compliments is not something I seek in fragrances. Chrome has a different take on a summer vibe unlike most offerings today of mostly soapy scents and aquatics. Maybe because I only wear it 2-3 times a year and always in the summer. Think clean soapy metallic goodness like when you're washing your car under a hot sun. Chrome has been part of many summer memories for men all over the world for over 20 years.

Note: As for the reviewer below me... Chrome smells NOTHING like Xeryus Rouge which is a completely different scent with pimento, cactus and woods. And Chrome is a soapy scent we all now that.

michael.salazar89

This is a classic for all collections. For its price point, the fragrance is very well blended and it is very long lasting on my skin. Easily 10-12 hours. My gf calls it "cloud". A cheapy worth having for sure. Dont hesitate to purchase this if you get a chance.Very fresh scent

raj.kanaj

Prefer this over Nautica Voyage.

Definitely has that metallic note, so many notes its hard to really distinguish most.

It performs great in the high heat. Great for a Home fragrance to just chill in order to keep smelling refreshed.

Sure there is better out there, but value for money wise you can over spray this as much as much as you like and not worry about saving it for a more special occasion.

Good for everyday chilling, even if its just for yourself.

Jevans492

Why does this smell like dollar-store floral-y sunscreen with hints of synthetic glue notes? This stuff smells dated and not good but performs like a beast, which is a shame because if the Azzaro Chrome flankers had the performance of this stuff they'd actually be bottle-worthy. Not sure how this was ever wearable for anyone. The dry-down is slightly more tolerable, but just smells like generic spring-scented hand lotion.

AMDDD

Pretty good fresh scent. I think it’s more floral then sporty or citrusy, so for me it’s more of a springtime scent. Honestly reminds me a lot of ck one. I get rosemary and some citrus, and although it’s not on the pyramid I get some lavender and what smells like anise. Overall it’s a pretty nice scent. Just doesn’t have a huge wow factor and doesn’t last long. But It isn’t bad for what it is. I call fragrances like this stocking stuffers or intro fragrances. It makes good gifts for people who aren’t frag heads but you want to give them something other then cool water or drakkar noir.

shrimptitties

I've been trying to find a replacement for the near-extinct Calvin Klein Eternity Summer 2015 for Men, which is literally perfect (fresh af, not musky or cheap, and not like fruit/candy/citrus per se). Bought this a few years ago at a department store because it was the closest thing they seemed to have, and honestly I wouldn't recommend it.

I'm not a cologne aficionado, but I'm really picky and throw out most everything.

This cologne is the second in line after Eternity Summer 2014 which I mistakingly bought, but is still better than most dark musky colognes that people tend to like I guess?? This one is pretty much the bare minimum 'cheap' and 'musky' typical department store smell that I'm willing to wear. Most all others go straight into the trash, but this one is ok.

I probably don't like woody smells, I guess (as opposed to fig in the CK 2015 one?)

iris.prado

I love this scent! Its a sweet fragrance that reminds me of fresh laundry.

richmilton

Masculine fresh soapy summer legend. I know a lot of guys that wear this so it's popular for a reason. My wife loves this one when I wear it and although she won't wear it herself (she doesn't like smelling like me or other men) she does like to spray it in the air at times on sunny summer days. BTW Chrome is nothing like CK One which is unisex and rather boring.

TrephineArtist

This is one of the most familiar scents to me although I've only ever owned a couple of free samples. It's just one of those fragrances that smells, you know, like a fragrance lol ! This could be in the encyclopedia Britannica/ or Larousse (for Frenchies, seeing as it's from France) to represent an archetypal (fresh type) masculine designer fragrance from the years between the mid 90s to present day, alongside maybe Acqua di Gio (though Chrome is far better to me!).

Does that make it bad? No.

Does that make it unexciting? Possibly, depending on one's mood and familiarity with this scent profile.

Does it make it one of the safest buys to gift to a man? Most definitely. Even many women would like to wear this I imagine, if they enjoy fresh scents such as CK One (I find they bear similarities).

The liquid from my sample projects strongly and lasts for ages.

Personally I've held off from purchasing this as it's just so over-familiar. But then again so is something like Chanel Allure Homme Sport, they do the same kind of thing but I much prefer this scent, it's not as cloying. But isn't Sauvage better? Don't make me laugh!

Still a superb fresh, clean and invigorating scent which comes into it's own on warm sunny days. Might have to invest in a FB after all.

Chanel & Dior would love to have a mass appealing fresh fragrance as good as this one (Dior did have DHS 2008 but axed it, sad!) ;)
