great smell, shitty performance.

solsisod

Very realistic and sour lemon opening but longevity seems to be the issue here as other have said it seems to be gone after 30 minutes

Severi Kosonen

I fell in love with the opening, which is the reason I bought it. I didn't wait for the dry down when I first smelled it in the store I found it in, and that is the reason I am sending it right back. The opening is lovely; a super realitistic lemon, but not sour or acidic smelling, but rather sllightly sweet, just enough sweet to tone down the acidity of the lemon. The dry down though, just smells like lemon scented massage oil. The longevity isn't as bad as the other reviews say, It's strong for around 1,5 hours, but last signs of any smells is around 3,5 hours after applying.

Iconic'80s

I absolutely love this fragrance. It's bright, beautiful and smooth. I love the bergamot. I just can't justify re-applying it every hour-especially for the price. But even if money were no object I still couldn't do it.

MonicaCloud

A very realistic smell of leaves and nature; green and crisp, resinous and sweet. Like a freshly-trimmed tree. Sits close to the skin but lasts for a good 12 hours. A beautiful unisex green citrus. Can't get enough of it.

villerdiller08

I love this fragrance so much, the scent is in my opinion 10/10. Its really close to dior homme cologne but this stuff is better but here comes the big problem

Longevity is max 30 minutes its gone before you can get to work/school/event and its so sad

Scent 9,8/10

sillage 2,3/10

longevity 1,2/10

ViceCity

Sits extremely close to skin, barely discernible within 30-45 minutes. Pleasing smell, unfortunately not able to withstand the humid climate I live in.

Would have considered buying otherwise.

L'égyptienne

It's the first EDT i have brought from this collection, when i was in Doha airport trying to find something suitable for every day fresh scent and i got two suggestions from the counter lady: Fico & Bergamatto then my journey started with the top notes: citron and bergamote then ginger.
This combination gives the fresheness and the zest with a slight sweetness required from happily starting your day for 20-30 minutes- i really hoped if it can stay more longer than this on clothes- then it becomes a skin scent due to Musk and disappering.
scent: 9/10
longetivity: weak 2/10, but despite of this, i will buy another bottle for the 20 minutes morning happiness :)

Jesse101

This fragrance really does citrus so well. This was a blind buy for me, and I’m very satisfied. For me, some citrus’s can come off really screechy and headache inducing, but this is blended very smoothly. I probably wouldn’t wear this unless it’s the summer, but that’s why I bought it, to take with me on vacation and to deal with the high heat.

BeatriceCetti

Pleasant fragrance indeed but not my cup of tea, too fresh for my taste. But surely a pleasant fragrance to wear on a hot summer day, gives you an elegant holiday vibe.

Alsiyabi2020

Worst perfume I've ever bought. Never seen a perfume which doesn't last more than 10 minutes with zero sillage. I need to reload every 10 to 15 minutes. I barely smell it. Don't buy and waste your money. Shame on this brand.

Cherryzaad

This scent has an amazing je ne sais quois that reminds me of a cozy summer morning, when you wake up in fresh, pillowy linens. If anything needed a concentration boost, it’s this one. I would have this in constant rotation if it had that MFK strength.

foccaciabread

beautiful, pure lemon but disappeared after literally 30 minutes.

rhrsouza

Very sharp, invigorating and realistic citrus at the opening (as I expect from Acqua de Parma) that turns into nothing after 30 or 40 minutes. I am not someone who complains about longevity, specially in citrus fragrances like this, but the performance in this case is absolute abysmal for the price point.

V.Norway92

Good summer scent. Fresh citrus and bergamot, mixed with flowers. Feminine take on a citrus scent.

The flowers become more prominent after an hour or two. Easy reach on a warm day.

PapaTLooch

Although I love the drydown of this it doesn't last for more than an hour at best. But if you love the scent as much as I do you can get something even better for less money. It's called Paris Corner Vibrant Vetiver Delight which is actually a clone of Bal d'Afrique.

Enrium

We are in the midst of a heatwave here in Ireland, so I sprayed this at a department store on a hot day. There is a wide range in the Blu Mediterraneo collection, and I suspect that they are all freshies of some description. I picked this one up at random. Bergamotto di Calabria is a straightforward citrus cologne with a woody-spicy base. It is simple and traditional in structure, perfectly unisex and serves its purpose well - it is very refreshing. However, it is also very fleeting.

BMBdC opens with a radiant citrus accord, zesty and fresh. It is aptly named - bergamot is the dominant note, but there is a hint of lemon. I get a hint of spice, and a soft woodiness emerges as it fades. It develops and fades to nothing extremely quickly though - it is one of the most ephemeral scents I've come across. Sillage is intimate and longevity is very weak.

Pleasant but pretty generic, this is let down by its abysmal performance, and is overpriced for what it is despite not being too expensive. Just buy a big bottle of 4711 EDC instead and be done with it. 2/5.

#194 in my "Tour de Fragrance"

Fleeting, ephemeral, evanescent, fugitive, momentary, transient, transitory, passing so quickly as to make apprehending it difficult. Translation: The performance totally sucks. Seriously. It won't last long enough for you to tie your tie. I've long since learned reviewers on here really tend to overrate the fragrances. Everyone who gave this lemon water a higher rating than 2.00 would probably give five stars to a bottle of BODman. Are you kidding me? The performance here is "Yachtman" bad, but at least with those scents you're only out like $5.95. I have now tried every AdP "Blu Mediterraneo" scent and I'll save you time. "Blu Mediterraneo Mandorlo Di Sicilia" isn't a complete waste of money. But you can go on Gift Express, sort on price, buy any scent that's under $10, I guarantee the performance will be as good or better than this Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto. Adidas, Jaguar, Cuba Paris. Okay, maybe not every Cuba Paris, but "Copacabana" at least works as a bathroom deodorizer.

lmnsvgz

Another slightly sour citrus!

belinda.1

Nice fresh zingy citrus and 'blue' opening. Drydown has a slightly piercing astringent-aromatic quality that I associate with classic men's fragrance, and I find too strong and severe on me. I think I would love smelling this on a dude.

theivanov

Plain lemon/citrus smell with barely any other notes, longevity is zero and you really have to sniff the skin to feel it, and that is immediately after applying.

SNKIOP

Summer Scent: 6,5/10. Pretty harsh citrus in the opening after that it smells a bit like cleaning soap. but it doesn't last at all. Sillage: 2/10 Longevity 1/10.

bergamotti

I must say, I've never come across a fragrance that smells as incredible as this one. It's hands down the best perfume I've ever encountered. However, I have to admit, I'm pretty bummed out by its performance. The scent vanishes within an hour, which is quite disappointing. I'm determined to find a similar perfume that has better staying power.

es_paradis

Probably one of the weakest perfomers out there even for Blu Mediteranneo standards. That said it's very clean, lemony and a no-brainer for summer if you don't mind the performance. Opens with sharp and almost alcholic bergamot, then it settles for ginger and vetiver. Can't detect florals or the cedar. Surprisingly, I get wafts of it during the day and in the gym, but it is as faint as it gets. Safe to overspray as it is so light and borderline undetectable, but in the end it settles for a nice lemon-candy-esque smell. I also get whiffs of lime every now and then.

Got mine from a discounter and the price for 150 ml was a steal, so I'll let it macerate a bit, perhaps it will improve with time.

The bottle though is really beautiful.

Glyph

This may be the weakest performing fragrance from a major niche or designer house I've yet to smell in my years of reviewing.

If you go right down to the skin and sniff it, it's pretty, with bergamot and citron and ginger; but I could not recommend anyone buy this because it's so faint.

Lukasssss

Bright, zesty, zingy, slightly sweet, natural citrus fragrance. Not the first of its kind, pretty simple, but very well done. I detect a slight resemblance with Fico di Amalfi in the dry down that I suspect is benzoin. Sadly the worst performing fragrance out of this collection I have tried, and the collection is not exactly known for good longevity and performance. If you wanted to smell like this all day, you would have to reapply every 30 minutes for your fragrance to actually be detectible in the air and not only sit on the skin. I still like it a lot though. 7/10.

Fraggremo14

I was expecting a bog standard citrus from this but that musky dry down is to die for, not what I expected at all. I'd be interested to see how this compares to Molecule 01+Mandarin because what I'm left with after the citrus fades is what I remember Molecule 01 to be like. It could possibly be a cheaper option that would satisfy me as this is not cheap, especially being an EDT - the bergamot sparkles but doesn't last. However, I'm considering splashing out on a bottle for that drydown alone.

antoniov

It does smell fresh and chic but as it is a bit too citrusy on me it ends up reminding me of insect repellent. Mostly a summer day fragrance.

Frok

great blend, perfectly unisex. the main problem with this fragrance is the performance, for me it last 3 hours on a good day. The aroma brings me back to my childhood holiday trips to Italy. if i wanted to use this in the summer, am bringing the bottle with me and respraying after 4 hours or so.

Gordon sanco

I think it smells like a gorgeous freshy that is very natural and pleasent smelling if you have tried the colonia this is similar but less complex and more youthfull

Snozzberry

Smells a lot like a sweeter version of Bergamote 22. It has the same sweet, citrusy DNA as Fico di Amalfi without the fig and soapy dry down. I unloaded an entire sample vial on my chest and it was all gone in about an hour. While it smells great, it's only for a brief moment, so I really can't justify paying any money for a scent this short-lived.

stephanienwc

This is a beautiful, realistic citrus with a nice spicey edge. Unfortunately this does not last long at all, even on clothes, even the base notes. Sadly.

PapaTLooch

This has been my favorite spring/summer fragrances for years. The drydown is pure bliss but it's true that performance isn't good. I just respray it after a few hours and I'm fine with that. If you like this consider trying Mancera Lemon Line. It's kind of similar in some ways but has much more of a punch to it and lasts longer.

RobertaV-G

Love it!
Perhaps a tad intense in the beginning but after 1 hour the smell that sets is very pleasant and long lasting

anfielder

Like it don’t love it, doesn’t smell as good as other aqua di Parma’s but has pretty solid performance, very fresh and citrusy could maybe use a touch of salinity to balance it out

vorachoom

Mediterranean Neroli
vorachooma few seconds ago

Opens with realistic bergamot, dries down becomes a very relaxing smooth vetiver with some flowers and the remaining the bitter juicyness of bergamot from top notes.

I got very weak performance. 1 hour of good projection with bright and clear notes then quickly transform into smooth super close skin scent and completely disappear in 3 hours.

To me, I see this fragrance as a personal relaxing experience rather than a fragrance that you wear to a particular place or see a particular person or for particular situation. Spray it, enjoy it, and repeat.

Loscar39

Very classy cologne smell, really quite lovely, lightly spicy citrus perfect for summer. Perfectly unisex too. But, as other reviewers have pointed out, the performance is abysmal. For the price it is a hard pass!

derby2169

As I have mentioned in multiple other reviews I am very familiar with the raw material in question, Calabrian bergamot, an ultra tart but also very aromatic yellow citrus that is everywhere in southern Italy.
The problem here for me is that the perfumer has forsaken the bright ethereal aspect and has focused on the gingery aromatic elements.
For me the magic of bergamot is the sparkly ethereal freshness you get by denting the peel that fills the room with vibrancy. The same goes for Guerlain Bergamotto di Calabria.
Oddly the most realistic effect I have found from Dior Homme Cologne which provides that exact burst of energy but without any of the aromatic components (since it probably doesn’t even contain a drop of the real thing).
Authenticity aside it is a pleasant citrusy aromatic every day scent. A bit pricy perhaps but the quality feels up to par.

MidwesternGothic

I own, if not all, then almost all, the Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo line of fragrances and this one has become my favorite of the bunch. Reasonable projection (sillage) for a citrus, especially in the first 30-60 minutes––at least this seems to be the case for me in warm weather, as summer is the only season I've had the opportunity to wear it in so far. An invigorating citrus, though subtly, artfully tweaked by just the right balance of just the right selection of secondary, underlying scents (e.g., ginger, cedar, floral). To my mind, this arguably makes it something of a minor masterpiece. One way I enjoy it is applying it in the last couple hours of my late night work shift on top of almost anything I put on earlier that day, which, by that point, is pretty far into the drydown stage.

[Side note: When it comes to longevity, citrus scents are typically weak, and often very weak. It just comes with the territory. If you're buying a citrus fragrance––any citrus fragrance––don't do so for longevity. The easy solution, however, is just reapply every couple hours and enjoy that just-like-the-first-time application all over again.]

Socratis Vandoros

I really like it, it’s fresh, great for the summer but the longevity and the silage is really disappointing. After about 30min you can barely smell it. Wouldn’t suggest buying a full bottle.

Lykopa

One of the most beautiful, elevated, complex citruses. The cedar gives it this lovely maturity and depth, while the bergamot stays fresh. This is such a lovely sparkly dry scent. There is something special about it that I can’t quite it my finger on. However, it is very short lived, so I recommend wearing it over an unscented lotion.

nrkearl

FIRST IMPRESSION: I use some bergamot essential oils at the gym when I use the sauna, and to me this smells nothing like that. To me this was straight up sparkly lime juice. After about 20 minutes though the citrus does fade and you are left with a clean yet a very slight powdery dry down. I blind bought the 5fl oz bottle for only like 40 bucks because Max Aroma was running a deal. Not bad. But not a favorite. Will have to wear it more.

IAmStaka

Extremely good smell.
EXTREMELY short lasting.

MagicBez

I like this fragrance, I've now worn it multiple times to get a better sense of it: the opening is a strong citrus blast, it feels like someone just squeezed a lime into a cocktail, it's very pleasant though and not at all artificial feeling.

When it settles down the citrus smell remains but becomes more muted, after a few hours I'm left with a very fresh, clean smell. Almost like someone used some imaginary super-high-end laundry detergent that doesn't actually exist but I wish did. In the final stages it smells quite similar to Mirto di Panarea but just a bit lighter/fresher.

Really nice for a summer's day

Adox

Dry pleasant and natural smelling citrus woody scent but the performance for me at least is terrible.
I like it but wouldn’t buy a full bottle based on performance alone. Would be respraying every hour.

amends-09.pintos

I really like this one a lot, but definitely not for myself or any other males. I bought this as a blind purchase. Longevity is questionable. What turns me off most about this fragrance is that I definitely sense that it’s more feminine than unisex, most likely due to the heavy floral mid-base. It does remind me of one of my female friends in high school who would basically douse herself with heavily floral fragrances every morning before class, and her smell would make me gag once she was within a 10-foot radius from me. I wouldn’t recommend this to any of my male friends. Gave it away to one of my cousins, and she absolutely loved it.

nelsongil13

Which is the most NATURAL-smelling fragrance you have ever smelled?

ME:
Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria by the Niche Italian house ACQUA DI PARMA 🍋🧼💦

This is so special, it feels LEMONY, CLEAN and Vivid.

With one of the most tender dry out I've ever felt, always maintaining its FRESHNESS and a mouth watering SOAPY vibe.

Mood lifting, in fact I get a calming and peaceful effect.

The performance maybe is not the best, however this one is a Masterpiece to be wore during the high heat weather for any casual activity.

DS9Dax

I love this!!, light, clean, fresh. Bright and happy. My favorite from the Blu Mediterraneo line. True it doesn’t last long. I like layering Haze Black by ATH, or Moscow Mule by Juliette has a gun. Spray one of those as a base, let it dry a minute the cover with the Bergamotto, really helps it pop and linger. This is my “don’t have to think about it” summer day easy grab by itself. Spray away dear friend.

mk6699

RULE NO 1: ALWAYS, always, sample first at different times and occasions and then decide to pull the trigger.

RULE NO 2: There is no such thing as BLIND BUY. So re-visit Rule 1, when you are tempted to fall for the reviews especially by social media influencers ( especially the ones who flaunt their sex appeal)

Nice, fresh, natural citrus but does NOT last for even 15 minutes! What's the point? This is NOT edt - more a weak after shave or deodorant. Good I first tested it through a 2ml sample. And for the cost, its a nice joke!

Kostas54

My signature fragrance. Clean, fresh and airy, with a soapy elegant drydown. I usually layer it with Escentric Molecule 1 and it turns into pure bliss which lasts almost 6-7 hours. People keep asking me what a nice fragrance I am wearing. Absolutely safe / suitable for the office.

laursremmen

Really nice scent. Fresh, a tiny bit spicy from the ginger but not overpowering and a nice roundness at the bottom. Like others have said... It lacks a bit in performance. It's really intimate and you can really only smell it up close and its longevity is short. But I feel like the scent itself makes up for this.
Overall.. Great scent :)

Smell like a warm hug

Such a good, fresh, simple scent. I love wearing this while running errands, and I look forward to using this a bit more during the warmer months. The longevity is very lacking, although I have read other reviewers say it lasts longer on clothes. I only purchased a travel size rollerball, so I have yet to try out a full bottle with an atomizer at a store. But the scent is so good it's making me consider purchasing a full bottle of this. Just lovely.

Bear Claws

Lemon Lime flavored Vodka , Fun invigorating scent just maybe not for a cologne to wear all day.

muscular

Very sour citrus at the top, skin scent after 15mins, nothing left after 30mins. Disappointing for a fragrance.

Unsweet

I’ve been looking for more scents featuring citron and ginger, so I was very hopeful that I’d love this one. It’s enjoyable but nothing I’d reach for a second time. The top notes are strong - citrus and marine. It’s a clean smell and reminds me of some aftershave my father used in the 80s. I am not getting any ginger at all.

Christianus

Regarding the issue of poor longevity I have noticed that if you spray on your clothes it actually lasts a long time, and with decent sillage (I think, I don't really understand how you're supposed to know that yourself, and with a lack of friends to ask I just have to guess). You have to spray around 5 times though, and have an undamaged sense of smell to get to enjoy this lovely smell for a long while.

I have read quite a lot of reviews of perfumes I own myself where people complain that it's gone in an hour when my experience is quite different, which makes me wonder; could it be that some people are so used to strong and in-your-face synthetic scents (like for example Invictus, the smell of that literally makes me sick) that their noses get damaged to the point where they simply can't smell softer and - in my view - lovelier scents like this one. Maybe if you try to avoid harsh scents for a month or so you can get more enjoyment from exquisite and discreet edT's like Bergamotto.

pansylady

Oddly enough, I'm picking up more flowers and wood than citrus with this-specifically violet and iris- I am also getting surprisingly decent longevity from this fragrance-- and it is working nicely as a winter scent, too, which is another surprise-

greguvka

Very summery zesty citrus smell, really brings you to the coasts of Italy. On my skin I get average longevity which to be expected from a light summery fragrance made of natural ingredients. Do not get discouraged and try it how long it can last on your skin.

E.H.Tersono

Bergamotto di Calabria has a clean laundry opening. The citrus hangs around, a bit sour. Something happens with the musk and flowers that I don't like. Not a refreshing citrus or a sweet bergamot, but a kind of lemony musk.

THE BLESSED

I can classify this perfume as refresher, peaceful & cozy for daily use ( day & night ), I think it will be good for those are doing meditation, yoga, praying, GYM sports … definitely when wear it, you will linked to nature, anyone interested, I will be glad to help

ilayda

This scent smells like Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Arancia di Capri but with more layers. Same with arancia I smell a really strong lemon note. The differnce is that with this one I smell lemon and bergamott rather then just lemon. This scent is best described as a aromatic citrus that smells very strongly of lemon, bergamott and ginger. There are no gourmand scents or any kind of sweetness to it. Slightly woody from the cedar and vetiver though.

JessVanEgg

This is such a nice and pleasant fragrance for warmer days. It is light, and has strong notes of bergamot and citrus, with some notes of ginger and hints of cedar and vetiver. It is quite fresh and slightly spicy. It's perfect for anyone who wants to freshen up!

The performance sucks a bit, however. It lasts for about 3 hours and the sillage is somewhere in between intimate and moderate for the first hour, then it becomes very intimate. This makes the perfume a little bit overpriced imo but if you don't care that much about the value, the scent is worth it.

7/10. I absolutely love the smell, it is a sweet citrus fragrance. However, the performance is okay at best.

07stewartD

A true smell of summer. It’s a light, refreshing, citrus hit but don’t get used to it because it’ll have disappeared before you’ve even left the house. The projection and longevity of it is really bad considering how pricey it is. It would be the ultimate daytime summer fragrance if it could perform. I love the smell of it and it smells as though it would be a delicious zesty beverage but it’s a skin scent at best and very unisex. I’d avoid buying it unless you have too much money.

Scent: 9/10
Projection: 3/10
Longevity: 1.5/10
Versatility: 2/10
Price: 2.5/10

Overall: 3.6/10

AA4102

The scent is close to Dior Homme Cologne and Chanel Allure Homme Sport Cologne imo. ADP being on the softer but fresher side, and Chanel on the stronger, but sharper side.

Beautiful. Refreshing. A scorching hot weather must have cologne!! Very unisex too if I may add.

adelaidesandrina

It’s like bathing yourself in the freshest lime juice. Amazing!! Super hyperrealistic

LW303

This Aqua Di Parma is a very natural great smelling summer fragrance. However, it has the worst performance I have seen in a fragrance. I spray it on my skin and it lasts 10min and it's gone. A real shame as it is very nice and natural smelling but its performance is shocking. Great for summer/ vacation and also gym wear. Very nice smell but shit performance. However still one of the best bergamot fragrances I have smelt.

ballerina77

this is the most sophisticated scent I have ever worn. I don't know, it kinda smells like a muju store and reminds me of all that minimalistic stuff they sell there. but of good quality and useful.
it does not remind me of bergamot, but of citrus scents in general. like a bit Sicilian lemon- watered lemonade and then ginger, spices, maybe a hint of cypress far far away...but citrusy, above all.
very light, discrete, but above all, fresh and clean. it is the kind of scent I wear after a bath, on a hot day, to feel clean.
it is unissex and definitely not the type of fruity - sensuous type of fragrance that we smell everywhere these days.

it is the one to the crowd who loves to feel fresh through the day. I carry it in my purse, basically my to go fragrance.
(I would say that if you like thé blanc- bvlgari, light blue D&G, kenzo air... this is their sophisticated sibling.)

Grensfall

Bergamotto di Calabria is probably the best bergamot fragrance I have ever smelled. The scent so natural and fresh. Like most people have pointed out though there is no longevity in this fragrance whatsoever. I can put on 10 sprays and it's gone within 1 hour, which is so sad. I mostly wear this fragrance at home because the smell makes me happy. The poor performance makes it hard to find a proper usage for this fragrance.

smokeyannihilation

this is a staple in my collection! i love to layer this with anything. the bergamot blends so well with any other bergamot scent, or any other notes really. this is incredibly zesty fresh. it performs terribly, so i would not purchase it at full price, but it is beautiful & i will continue to layer as long as i can find it <$100

Sorfan

The fragrance is very refreshing, I wish it lasted more than 6 minutes in my skin. It does what it’s meant to do, which is to refresh you for a few minutes. A spray bottle with water in it can do the same. And this is why it is way overpriced. I had other colognes that lasted a lot longer than this.
An update two years later. I love the scent, citrusy, fresh, self explanatory. It doesn't claim to be something it isn't. Perhaps the longevity. It leaves a powdery skin scent after the top notes have gone. As I kept using it, it grew on me and it's one of my summer staples. Just looking at the bottle makes me happy.

The Wolf

Alright let's talk about the elephant in the room first. As you can see from votes and reviews, the longevity on this sucks. But I bought a 5 oz bottle anyway because I think it's the best bergamot frags along with le labo bergamote 22, which is expensive and also doesn't last. I own and have smelled lots of citrus fragrances, and this is one of the best and most natural I've ever smelled.

The only way this makes sense is if you get a BIG bottle and you get it for cheap. I paid 50$ for 5 ounces. You will need an atomizer to carry in your pocket or purse.

I think of this like an Italian Sports car.
It's not practical, it's got no room for groceries, it gets terrible gas mileage, and it breaks all the time.
However, it's beautiful, people love it, and when it's not broken, it's a blast to drive!

Smell 10/10. Bergamot Perfected.
Performance 1/10. I literally spray this on my face (facial hair and cheeks) so I can enjoy it longer

shstew

I absolutely love the opening on this and I hate to write a negative review but the longevity is atrocious. It smells amazing for 1 minute then it's nearly gone. If you don't mind applying 20 sprays to start then another 10 every hour this is for you. I'm glad I got a great price on a 150ml tester but even then it's not worth it IMO. Such a shame...

Very very weak, to the point of it becoming a waste of money.

The smell itself is, as mentioned here, nice - a fresh lemonade. But it dissapears as one too, in 15 minutes it's gone. Peeling a lemon and not washing your hands would be more effective as a fragrance.

#sad #40€downthedrain #why #stopblindbuyingthingsdenisa

Update: I was too harsh judging this. It's a great room and toilet freshener. Or when you feel like changing perfume 5 times a day, this does the job for an hour perfectly.

sk_99

Love the cirtucy smell but its too weak.I barely could smell it after i smelled other fragrances of the blu line.I think its the weakest.Too expensive for what it is.I would buy it only for me to smell it for no reason when i am at home :P.

PapaTLooch

My absolute favorite ADP. This one is all about the beautiful lemony, musky, powdery, soapy dry down that is so warm and clean. Although I wouldn't describe it as gourmand it does very much remind me of a creamy lemon sherbet. It’s the kind of smell that just feels soft and comfortable. Everyone complains about longevity but I find a few extra sprays gets the job done nicely. But yes, it's certainly not the best performance and I do wish it was stronger.

Gabriél_de_ATL

I live in Atlanta, and this is perfect for the VERY humid and sticky summer here. It does EXACTLY what I want, and while many others criticize it, what they find to be vices, I consider to be virtues.

I have moved almost exclusively to niche fragrances, and to my nose, this doesn't smell like ANY of the designer fragrances out there. It has the best, most NATURAL citrus scent I have EVER smelled (and I am 60 yrs old). Here in Atlanta in the summertime, the morning may start out cool to warm, but by afternoon the weather has changed to humid and hot. When the air itself feels like an extra layer of clothing, I want zero scent, it's just not needed. So with this, I spray on my neck and back of my head, then when I get dressed I spray more on my shirt (upper chest, shoulders), and yes it does move to a skin scent within a few hours, which is what I wanted as the day gets warmer, and what remains on my shirt hangs around and informs the rest of the day. So while others don't like the way it performs, I love it. The smell is very fresh and light, perfect for humid days.

If you're hesitant, get a sample, but honestly, this is a really great citrus scent for morning, office or casual environments.

Bfish88

I like this but wish it had more backbone for better performance. It smells great and it will make you smile with that lemony lime pop! But..then it's gone, good thing I've got the 5oz bottle on a discount. I will be using this as a morning pick me up before I throw on my day scent this summer.

Good to add to the collection but not a necessity

UPDATE: I used this after spraying Dior Homne Sport 2017 and it made the citrus opening last a few more hours! But, didn't help the overall longevity. I am considering using this also for layering with my summer citrus freshies!

TabledThoughts

An easy breezy citrusy juice that would smell divine on a gentleman yet is perfectly admirable on my feminine skin.
The complete drydown offers up a muskiness I quite like.
Close to the skin but lasts on me!
Smells sooo good!
I absolutely am enamored with the beautiful blue bottle.

Carefreedo

Absolutely stunning scent. So fresh and natural smelling. Smells exactly like a lemon lime sorbet to me. It is a light fragrance but not so light it’s not worth purchasing. I managed to acquire the 150ml bottle for a great price and so don’t feel bad spraying heavy.

Also, got compliments from this a couple of hours after applying - so it has some longevity and projection.

Probably the easiest to love from the line - even though I am a fan of the blu mediterraneo line in general.

jarno1208

Very bright and citrus heavy scent. Feels high quality. Perfect for summer and warmer weather.

rosmarino

I was surprised how natural it smells. Opens with fizzy Citron and transforms quite quickly in Vetiver - Bergamot - Musk scent. Very true and beautiful. Sillage medium to weak. More a fragrance to self.

Kloppo

Super natural lemon and bergamot smell without any of that synthetic background noise. Quite alcoholic and sharp in the first 10 seconds, but very pleasant overall. It's a real shame that while they use real bergamot in this, it does not project at all and is gone in i kid you not, 15 minutes. As someone who never has longevity issues it was honestly surprising given that ADP usually last 3 hours minimum on my skin. What a shame, I might need to overspray.

fragrances-fanatic

This is one of my favorite fragrances of all time. I love citrusy fresh fragrances. The opening is bright, juicy, zesty. I don't feel it smells like lemon cleaning products at all. For me this is one of the longest lasting citrus fragrance I have ever tried (which is saying something because I have tried many, and citrus fragrances typically have poor staying power). I could get a probably 8 hours out of this one which was amazing. Unisex but does not smell "masculine" for you gals out there who haven't tried this.

ingeneuxo

-Opens with a dishwashing detergent citrusy scent.
-Lasting power is fleeting, as with all others in the Blu Mediterrano line.
-Not fbw. (-)

Guitar 2016

It's a nice powdery style fragrance. Uplifting and joyful , opens with the radiant freshness of Citron and Italian bergamot , combined with the vibrant notes of ginger , cedarwood , the preciousness of vetiver , musk and benzoin. This perfume reminds me of Artisan Pure by John Varvatos. It is perfect for the spring and summer. I like Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria EDT.

fragrancemusing

I like it enough to finish the whole bottle but no matter how many spray or how close to my neck I apply it, I can barely smell anything after 2-3 hours. It is a refreshing but fleeting fragrance.

the opening as expected is citrusy bergamot with notes of woodiness and slightly herbaceous. If you like Aesop Tacit, you might like this for some days when you want something more breezy and easygoing. Wears well in hot climate, doesn't turn acidic on my skin. It's a no-brainer inoffensive fragrance, so I usually pack this for my business trips.

Personally I find it rather overpriced for its' performance. It lacks character and uniqueness. It's pleasant enough for one bottle commitment but honestly after finishing, I won't replace it.

agonzony

One of my favorite smelling citruses ever. It's seriously amazing. However, it's one of the weakest fragrances I've ever tried. If you buy this, you have to understand that this is a true eau de cologne, meant only to be fleeting and subtle. It might leave a light, pleasant scent on your collar. It is not meant to be loud or to project or to leave a trail at the office. This one is for your enjoyment only.

MaquiLab

I love this fragrance but it's so weak! When you first spray it onto the skin, it's a sparkling, uplifting citrus, like a cold lemonade on a hot summer day. It's brigh and sunny to the point where you want to bathe in the thing. :) It dries down quickly to something I can't put my finger on (maybe the cedar?). And then it just disappears. It's almost gone in less than an hour. So sad, I really want to buy this full size but can't justify the price as I will most probably finish a whole bottle in a week.

black_orchid

Very boring and short lasting citrus fragrance and sorry this fragrance does not smell like bergamot. I can find far better options than this.

Owlie

On my skin after about an hour or so, this literally smells like paper money 🤔 does anyone else get this impression while wearing it? With that said, I am enjoying my splash sample. Very citrusy, a little woody, and completely pleasant and easy to wear. I need to test it a little more to see if this is a love.

beamkath

I remember testing this fragrance at Bloomingdales where the salesman took me on a tour of Italy by way of the Blu Mediterraneo line. This one is nice, but the real standout to me was Chinotto di Ligurio. I don't have a ton to say about this--it's soft and gentle, a bit like freshly washed clothes in lemon detergent. I applied at 8:00 am or so and now at 10:00 am it's little more than a wisp and I'm straining to pick up the notes. Seems like a good inoffensive fragrance for setting a sunny mood for some weekend household chores, but not enough of a knockout to convince me to buy a whole bottle.

mmdreza

Squeezed bergamot

This is not just the oil from inside of a bergamot. It's the whole fruit plus it's leaves and even the tree itself. The sourness and bitterness from the green leaves and bergamot is obvious.
After an hour flowers, musk and cedar goes hand in hand to fill the place of bergamot and citron and make the perfume a bit sweet and deep.
Unfortunately (for me) it has a soapy cleanness which I think was not necessary and because of this feature I think there is an unnecessary pumped up sweetness to this fragrance which could be more toned down and it could lead to a more natural scented fragrance.

It's suitable for every and each occasion in summer and spring. It doesnt last long but it is enough and the sillage is normal and acceptable for such a fragrance.

Light, soft, etheral, floral Bergamot. Very, very nice. Not long lasting. First time I wore it, it was ok, not amazing. By my fourth wear...it's beautiful. Considering a full bottle now. Scent: 8.5, longevity: 7, Overall: 8.5

thethe

It’s true. This isn’t a long lasting fragrance at all.
What’s it good for? A hot, dry day. You were this on those hot days when every other fragrance you have should be considered too strong.
It’s so refreshing and bright and glad to have this in my rotation for the overwhelmingly hot days. Bravo!

SaviFresh89

I love this fragrance, Sandalo is the only fragrance I prefer over this from AdP.

However. Awful performance, a total waste of money. Dont buy if you actually want to wear and enjoy wearing, as yourself and others will not smell anything after 10mins.

I do love spraying my bottle from time to time, just to enjoy it for myself, but unfortunately that is all its good for.

Cloudburst2000

This fragrance smells fantastic! The best-smelling bergamot fragrance I have come across. However, the longevity is DISMAL. This fragrance does not even last for one hour. I could just about justify the price when I first bought it 1 1/2 years ago. At that time, it cost $105. Since then, in less than 2 years time, the price has gone up by $15 to $120. No way is this fragrance worth $120 when it doesn't even last 1 hour. $105 was pushing it, but $120 is a ridiculous price for such a poor-performing fragrance. When I finish my bottle, I will not be repurchasing even though I adore the scent. The longevity just does not justify the price of $120.

dominicgoyer

I received 5 Blu Med. bottles as gift and I swear they all smell like soap.
Very nice soap, very nice smell but so... safe?
This one is all Lemon, a nice sweet one, almost candied.
And then: the vague Blu Med. nice soap base.
Oh well...

Zero Performance

This is not a perfume, it lasts 15 minutes. Terrible release from Acqua Di parma.

Cloudburst2000

I absolutely adore the smell of this fragrance for those hot summer months. A nice zing from the bergamot and citron with the ginger and woody notes peeking through. This is favorite type of citrus fragrance. However, like everyone else has stated, the last power is pretty abysmal. It lasts about an hour on me and that is with multiple sprays (six or seven). I was willing to pay $105 for the 50ml bottle but even that was a stretch since the fragrance is so short-lived. Well, the fragrance has apparently gone up $15 since I bought it two summers ago. No way in heck am I paying $120 for a fragrance that lasts one hour, no matter how awesome it smells. ADP needs to get their heads out of their rears. Yes, the fragrance smells superb but hardly anyone will buy it for that price considering the poor performance. They should either adjust prices accordingly or figure out how to make the fragrance last longer.

Tamlin

Perfectly pleasant scent, however for me it smells like citrus candy and old ladies.

The Bergamot is front and center and does smell delicious, but reminds me a bit too much of candy. And then there are some notes in the background that for some reason immediately remind me of my dear old aunt - may her soul rest in peace.

Nothing wrong with any of this of course, but for me as a 39 year old man I really don't have any interest in wearing it and smelling like this.

FloidnScotch

I keep searching for a great bergamot scent but this one won't be it.

I absolutely love bergamot and when I first smelled this I thought I had a winner. Kept smelling myself on my way out of the store... a few minutes later and it started to vanish. After 30 minutes it was gone.

The opening was so good that I decided to give it a second try. This time it was warmer outside. I got only slightly better performance - again less than an hour!

It's a shame but I can only see this working on really warm weather. At its pricetag it's definitely a pass.

SebastianSmellsGreat

Took this perfume with me on my holiday to the south of France as my only scent for 2 weeks.
Absolutely the most beautiful bergamot fragrance I've ever smelled. Such a shame that it doesn't last at all!

It does have some projection the first 15-30 minutes but after that, it gets really close to the skin.
You will have to overspray this before anyone else with notice you got anything on. Sprayed 10 times one day before a road trip and it didn't clog up the whole cabin. Actually had my family in the car and for any other fragrance they would have kicked me out for having to much on, but this time they didn't even say anything about it. And that should tell you more about the poor performance than the smell.

Won't be buying a new bottle after my 30ml runs out... and it will soon, as I need to use so goddamn many sprays every time, just for it to perform a little.

EDIT: Finished the bottle as we had some warm days here in the late spring. I can not stress enough how good I think the smell is. It also performs a little better when it's not super hot outside... But it still sits very close to the skin.

Andy the Frenchy

Nice bergamot, realistic. As for the smell, this one is very unisex, round. Unfortunately I confirm it has poor performance, unacceptable for the price it retails. (a simple summer days eau de cologne shouldn't cost more than $50 for 100ml at online discounters)

For these reasons, I cannot recommend this one, and for a more masculine take on bergamot and a big step-up in terms of quality and performance, I would suggest to go for Zegna Italian Bergamot (the new EDP, not the discontinued EDT). Obviously, it's also a step up in terms of pricing, but with a bit of patience, it will show up in 1-2 years at discounters.

If you don't have patience, I would suggest to go for Zegna Acqua di Bergamotto or Guerlain AA Bergamote Calabria instead, which both do the same job (with similar poor performance) and both currently retails around $30-40 for a large bottle online.

For a more feminine take on Bergamot, I cannot recommend enough Atelier Cologne Bergamote Soleil.

In summary, AdP Bergamotto di Calabria: good, but overpriced compared to the competition given what it delivers. A pass for me.

Summer days, 20+

impressedguy

Opening with the most amazing bergamot note you will ever experience in your whole life, just to disappear 5 minutes later.

Huge longevity issues here and projection close to zero. No one is gonna notice you wear any scent - not even yourself.

Thanks Acqua di Parma but this feels like a joke.

*This review was written after several full wearings of the perfume and not just after smelling this on paper or on wrist.

RWF

The opening is such a realistic Bergamot it's quite incredible. 100% for the hot weather when fragrances are amplified by the heat. The longevity issues are REAL with this one.

Swedelish

Treat this like an eau de cologne and you may not be as disappointed as you otherwise would have been. It is bright, happy and juicy. Quality is there but you have to weigh the pros and cons.

Pro: As a lover of bergamot it hits the spot. It's the only citrus scent I crave more of and want to repurchase a bottle of, nothing else delivers on the promise of fresh, happy, bright citrus like this.

Con: The bottle goes very fast as a result of poor projection and longevity. I used up a full 75 ml bottle in under a year, which is unheard of seeing as most of its play was seen during summer. It needs to be sprayed at least 6 times per use to be worth while. Reapplication is necessary throughout the day.

Pro: Quality ingredients and natural scent, it is such a pleasure to wear. It's not piercing or synthetic like other citruses can be. It's light enough and perfect for high heat. Love the bottles too.

I adore this fragrance. I wish it stuck around longer, but I trust Acqua Di Parma know what they're doing. Compared to other brands who push edc's for roughly the same price, Acqua Di Parma is winning in my books. They're a classy brand who don't rely on bells and whistles to sell their products, they just make good perfume on the basis of quality and simplicity. I'm a big fan.

Jonmichael02302

I'm not usually a fan of citrus-based scents but I absolutely love this fragrance. Heartbreaking that it doesn't last long at all. What a damn shame cause this is a happy day in a bottle!

Dawnfiller

This is a citrus bomb on my skin with a hint of ginger but no other notes. It lasts in cold weather (50 degrees) at least 6 hours on my extremely dry skin and has a nice scent trail for several hours. I live in the Arizona desert so it is hot most of the year here. I’m unsure how this fragrance does above 90 degrees but I bought it in November when we were still in 90s and it lasted about 4 hours as strong skin scent. I love it! I plan to buy the lotion and shower gel to increase time it lasts. Not sure why other reviewers had bad luck with it.

This is unisex and a safe blind buy. I receive compliments and zero complaints on scent. FragranceNet.com sells samples which is how I tested it first before buying it on sale.

ReapThaWhirlwind

Bergamotto di Calabria is a citrus aromatic. It projects with a stingy zesty citrus accord, between bergamot and citron. It's awakening, invigorating, and has a touch of candy-like sweetness to it. Not sure what the concentration here is, but the aroma dies down hard after the opening, and shortly after is very hard to pick up (unless presumably you have a virgin nose).

I think this one had so much more potential for greatness, but possibly Acqua di Parma is playing hard ball here, and doesn't wish to cater to the underlying problems of people. Instead, they might be taking a page out of Ralph Lauren's book, and are seeking to force people into finding a more effective solution for their problems (in the sense of some olfactory rejuvenation therapy). Although the formula here is a bit simple and linear, the fragrance is so good that it would probably be well worth the effort. That's just the classic style of Italian cologne.

You could always bathe in it I guess, but not sure how popular that's going to make you with all those sensitive noses out there amongst the crowd. I really enjoy this one for its style and flare, and would suggest just wearing it on the skin, so that you can freshen up regularly without it becoming overbearing to anyone.

trabuquera

Citrus fizzle. Looks like it's unanimous then - I smelled this without reading any of the reviews here and had exactly the same experience. Soaringly gorgeous, bright, zingy, tingly, sunny, fresh-air bergamot, exactly that delicious tang that makes good Earl Grey tea so refreshing. Just beautiful. Puts a smile on your face and makes you think of clear blue skies. Perfectly unisex, utterly charming. And this after I've had a string of failures with other AdPs which looked great on paper but turned too cheap / butch / aftershave-y to work on my female skin.

Drawback: lasts for an hour, at most. Aaaargh! Che fiasco! In a perfect universe maybe I'd buy a one-litre bucket of this and spritz myself with it hourly. In this one, AdP have scored an own goal making Bergamotto di Calabria, because it's persuaded me I really need a bergamot perfume for summer 2019 and I want to explore the note further, but I know for sure I won't be paying out for AdP's take on it.

clintjr82

Yes it smells good, Its a go if you like bright crispy scents..

Here is how it smells to me, Its like a an expensive lemon/ lime & citrus house hold cleaner.

The bad, the performance is just bad, doesn't last. Maybe a 30 minute blast of citrus, ginger and cedar, then nothing at all on the skin. You'll have to spray every hour .

From a Mans' perspective, ADP Ginepro, Cedro and Cipresso are the very best, classics at that.

More feminine

Perris Monte Carlos' Bergamotto is way better. Try it

snaird

An effervescent bergamot opening leads to a rather non descriptive middle and end. It’s all about the top notes with this one. Fleeting as they may be, for those few glorious moments they do shine brighter than the sun, and take you away on a temperate summer vacation.

Sillage and projection are non existent

rjf

Bitter orange and lemon, citrus, Froot Loops, fades quickly. No.

Johnnyacl

Very good scent, ruined by a poor performance. A pity, indeed.

Philosophy.and.Fragrance

Nice scent and high quality citrus notes, like other Blu Mediterraneo line fragrances but always I have a problem with this line: weak performance on my skin :(
I love this line very much.

123tommyp

Apparently I wasn't born with the right pH to allow me to enjoy hours upon days of longevity that other Fragranticans report. I unfortunately don't get 24 hours after a gym workout and two showers with only a single spray which my wife delivered from the next room. It's a shame because a fragrance budget of about $150 could last a lifetime.

pkbowen

Gorgeous, gorgeous bergamot, lime, and lemon scent. Some floral undertones, but little in the way of base notes to lend it longevity. Even used in layering, it only lasts an hour or two, at most. Sillage and longevity are both quite poor, but it smells BRILLIANT when still on the skin. "Good-to-very good," 85/100.

Go4broke

Very high quality lemon citrus scent, perfect for summer. But as others have said, very poor longevity. So poor in fact, that I cannot detect this after just 20 mins. Such a shame as the scent is so good.

viridian

I have to agree with Thee Maestro and say I don't have any problem with the longevity either. 2 or 3 sprays and I can smell this all day. It's a great bergamot scent, the type I'd been seeking for a while, from a lovely line of fragrances.

acais

Fresh, pleasant, very short lived.

Thee Maestro

Crisp citrus scent that is so true to it's name. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I enjoyed it for a long time.
I don't get performance issues at all, it lasted a full work day. Sillage was effortless for this gem, projection was not bad either, I'm really confused by some reviews, it's like we're not reviewing the same scent at all.

Lovely summer scent, I recommend it, but having read the reviews here, I'd say beware the danger of counterfeit fragrances, especially with these niche fragrances!!

moe naji

The most beautiful uplifting citrus scent I've ever smelled. Very pure and high quality bergamont and Italian lemon. The only drawback is the performance which is not the best in the world. I get 3-5 hrs of solid longevity.

caribbeanblue

It's a nice fragrance, but on my skin it's too acid and doesn't smell as good as it sprayed in the air.
Very poor longevity. There are better fragrances in Blu Mediterraneo in my opinion.

no-fi

Bergamotto di Calabria opens with an excellent blast of very natural smelling bergamot, along with a big dose of lemony citron. A slight but perceptible dash of ginger complements the herbal aspects of the bergamot for good measure. It's a fresh and wonderful opening.

And then... nothing. Absolutely no sillage, no longevity. It's gone in less than five minutes. If I press my nose hard against my skin, I can detect maybe a touch of musk, but that's it. And that's after a good few sprays on the same patch of skin.

I love a good Eau de Cologne, and I don't begrudge their lack of longevity - they're supposed to be fleeting, uplifting scents to refresh yourself on a hot day or lighten your mood. But Bergamotto di Calabria is no Eau de Cologne. It's a mockery. Don't waste your money.

miss mills

A beautiful fresh citrus opening which turns into Yardley's lemon verbena soap after five minutes (not a bad thing) and then lightens up a little and is joined by vetiver. As with a few of the other AdPs I'm finding I really enjoy the top notes but am left a little dissatisfied by what comes next. This is a beautiful fragrance, no doubt about it - if you're after the definitive soapy lemon fragrance, this could be your dream come true.

Wordley

Citrus opening, drying down to a sweet, woody set of middle notes. If there was vetiver in the mix then It was subtle to the point of being subliminal. That said, for something that's quite simple, this fragrance actually seemed to have a lot of character, for a couple of hours or so.

If I drew up a list of things I like about Bergamotto, it'd be a decently long list. But projection and value for money wouldn't feature. This stuff is expensive, and, for the price ADP are asking, it should last a lot longer and have far better sillage.

Abcgefd

Whilst I agree that the initial zesty citrus fades in 20-30mins, what it leaves stays for a reasonable few hours. It is subtle though; but in a pleasing way that suggests it's gone deeper into the skin... like how chlorine does after a swim in a public pool, but with no similarities in fragrance!

It's sweet and floral, but believable. Some fragrances are strong enough to suggest they are masking something - this is not one of those.

Plus, I'm allergic to a lot of AdP fragrances, so far not this one!

Lilmary310

Totally agree with Happyme2009 below. Smells great, then evaporates in less than 10 minutes. Looking into if I can return it.

Happyme2009

One of the biggest wastes of money thrown away in my entire life as a parfume collector.
I wanted this for the longest time . It's pricey and honestly, a mockery of a perfume.
Water with a few drops of bergamotte oil . Divine, zingy, sublime, for all the 30 seconds it lasts . After that it changes into a skin scent that lasts a little more, and then it vanishes without a trace . Even on clothes is gone in no time.
Absurd, and I was so expensive. I am really pissed off for wasting my birthday money on this . If I was the perfumerer who creates this , I'd be embarrassed . Seriously, not even worth $20, as for what I paid for it is simply obscene . $156 Ripoff. I am never buying another Blue Mediterraneo Edt, Never.
That being said, the smell, when you can actually smell it, it's the most natural lime and bergamotte you could dream of. I have a bottle of essential bergamotte oil next to me, they are very similar. Except that the oil was one tenth of the price of the perfume. So I guess I'll need to mix this edt with some essential oil and hope it becomes strong .... what a pity. It could have been the perfect summer fragrance . And keep in mind that I usually prefer not so strong fragrances.
My recommendation ? Don't buy . I did and I regret it. Swap anyone ? 150 ml bottle, with box, booklet, everything .

annagulas6

Verry lemony..like you would pour some of those lemon cake extracts on your skin..not for me.

Gumbinator

I had a sample given to me at Holt Renfrew. I was very excited for this scent. I was like "maybe I'll find a nice summer scent". I'll be honest I did, for about 10 minutes. Then poof! Gone. Has a sprite smell kind of vibe. Or rather it smells like what it tastes like. Not sure if I applied it wrong, but it was just after my shower. I'll give it another go soon. But for now, not worthy of a purchase.

KIZILBAY

cats8398

I'm glad I didn't get the full size bottle. I put this on... a lot of it and barely could smell anything. I don't even know what it really smells like. They must know their fragrances are weak (this one esp.) I guess as long as we buy it they don't feel the need to address the issue. The lotion lasts MUCH longer so I wear that now and to heck with the EDT.

obahnas

I have a sample and I am HOOKED.

a casual, easy-to-wear, classy 09:00AM summer time fragrance.

I promise you, this will put a smile on your face.

**UPDATE: I actually bought this at a great price! This is just heavenly!

Kostas54

Fantastic smell. Fresh, tangy and sweet at the same time, it gives you a pleasant feeling of cleanliness and soapy freshness. I just love it!!!

P.S. I have read comments complaining about poor sillage and/or projection. This type of smell - as all the Βlu Μediterraneo series- is meant to be delicate and discreet in a classy way. In no way is this a powerhouse nor was it meant to be. This is European elegance. So , for those looking for class and european "chic" this is it!

OTA Mom

Absolutely fantastic throughout. The citrus top is so fresh and true. Pricey but well worth it.

trockenbrot

Love it! Great Fragrance for either summer or winter. Love the bergamot and lemon start with the soft Drydown, which is the best part. I keep smelling my wrist while wearing this one.

It also smells very natural.

Only wish the base would be stronger.

besides that the price is alright for 150ml.

ScarlettX

It's a nice and fresh citrus scent.
Easy to wear, most suitable for summer. Totally unisex in my opinion. Not very feminine, but not masculine either.
Basic lemony scent, a little too basic for that kind of price.
Quite fine, but for that price I would be able to find at least two bottles of good perfume.

Fogwalker

If only this (and many others from this house) worked on my skin, I'd be a very happy man.
I get very little from this beautiful fragrance. Very little at all. Spray, sniff - gone!

It's a recurring annoyance for me with the house of Acqua di Parma. Classy and wonderful as most of them that I've tried are, I am always left feeling somewhat disappointed.
I love the smells but the strength is wasted on me.

I have tried all the Blu Mediterraneo collection and (most of the) Colonia collection too and none of them last more than an hour on my skin giving me practically no projection / sillage. I mean, like nothing.

Sure, I get the amazing smells and adorable flavours they permit but they are nothing more than a skin scent on me. Maybe it's my DNA, although I have seen other similar comments.

It's for those reasons that I find them far too expensive and over-priced for what they offer you as a buyer. I've spent a small fortune buying some of these fragrances but sadly, I simply can't afford to justify making the same mistake again.

Yes, I know many people will strongly disagree with me and mention that we shouldn't expect all fragrances to be powerhouses, sending passers-by into an olfactory frenzy; but I definitely want something more to show for my money than what Acqua di Parma have offered me to date.
Damn!

Tried this with my mother when we went out on my birthday. She liked it and said "It smells lemony." "That's the bergamot and lemons then" I replied. It's nice but doesn't seem to warrant the huge price tag for just a fresh citrus with a fairly generic and fast dry down. I am often disappointed with high end stuff. We ended up buying Next Eau Nude, which is quite sophisticated and Next Paradise, which my husband loves and is only £4 for 10ml.

Bergamotto di Calabria is a beautiful fragrance, simple, elegant and just lovely. I find it quite intoxicating.

Yes the performance is certainly not the best, but this is one of those rare moments for me when the overall effect of the fragrance makes up for it's performance woes IMO.

It does remind me slightly of Sel de Vetiver but only briefly. It also reminds me of Dior Homme Cologne to some extent, but it is better to my nose than the Dior. It reminds me of many fragrances in part, however none capture the magic that this possesses for me.

This is what I might have imagined Grace Kelly to waft of in "To Catch a Thief", though I realize the movie was in Nice.

I realize there are a million versions of this type of fragrance, but this for me is very, very special. It is the best of summer in a bottle.

8.5 overall while taking it's lacking performance into account.

bet85

smells great. but out of all the acdp blue line. This is by far the weakest. Gone after 1 hour. Too bad.

SauvageHound

Bergamotto di Calabria has a pleasant citrusy opening that rapidly adds a spicy soapy component. The dry down, which develops quickly, is all about the ginger, bolstered by hints of cedar, musk, and benzoin. If you like ginger this fragrance might be for you, but be advised you're going to have to reapply it a lot: the longevity is very short. Very. I wanted to like BdC--I generally like all the notes that go into its formulation--but, at least on my skin, it really doesn't work. It seems thin, linear, uninteresting, and weak.

hullhockey91

Such a nice juicy, bright opening. The bright opening of citrus tones stays for a good 20-30 minutes before the vetiver peeps through just barely.

Sitting on the beach, with a fruity drink in super hot weather is the picture this gives me. This definitely leans towards the masculine side.

The staying power is horrendous, which i am assuming is due to the bright opening which never really goes away. I'm not sure how anyone can justify paying the price of this fragrance for such lame longevity.

I will say if it lasted longer and has better performance, I would have to give in and buy it.

Scent: 7.5/10 (Nothing new, just smells really good)
Longevity: 3/10
Sillage: 3/10

Overall: Disappointing.

Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria is my first fragrance from the AdP Blu Mediterraneo line. This is a very fresh and enjoyable citrus fragrance, but for my money, Tom Ford's Italian Cypress is a far better "mediterranean" fragrance. I'm sure I'll try a few other AdP fragrances from this line. Suggestions are welcome.

Update: I've tried this several times now and although the opening is quite nice, I'm down to barely a skin scent in 2 hours. I'm sure it's me but I'm not going to upgrade to a full bottle.

amirali0072000

Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria is the best begamot fragrance I have ever had..
it opens with citrus(bergamot and citron) then it turns to with ginger, cedar and vetyver..
I have smelled bergamot and citron and vetyver in this magnificent product the most. benzoin and musk Notes are very weak..
This fragrance has too short of a staying power.
but I really enjoy this scent ..

mutatismutandis

Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Bergamotto di Calabria is a very pleasant citron scent with some bergamot and lime which sits next to the skin. As the lemony notes mostly fade away after an hour or two, it becomes a very gentle woody musk. It's very delicate but it does last quite a long time, around 6 or 7 hours before it starts to vanish properly off the skin.

Bergamotto di Calabria is the nicest of the Blu Med range by far. It's flexible in that it works day or night and any time of year and for any occasion. I like the bottle and the packaging too. However, I do think it is overpriced. The Blu Med range feels more like a marketing gimmick by AdP to get the cash registers ringing. The revivification of the company in the last twenty years has led to lots of new lines but very little of genuine top class merit for the money. BdC is a genuine unisex perfume and you could use it straight out the shower, getting back from work, going to bed, just about anything you want that relies on subtlety and discretion. If you want to make an impression or just smell your perfume after an hour, then it's not the one.

I like it but I wish it was stronger and lasted longer.

Dr.ThraX

Green lime in a bottle .. That how I can describe it .

McG1993

Very fresh and clean scent! The lemon/citrusy notes are definitely noticeable. Unfortunately, this fragrance fades way too quickly and only lasts less than 10 minutes on my skin.

km9699

Very clean, very fresh, very ticklish on my nose. This scent is almost perfectly balanced on me. Perhaps it is a touch too ozonic, actually, but the lotion form of this scent rounds that out amazingly.

StellaDiverFlynn

Bergamotto di Calabria is a straightforward lemon and bergamot fragrance on me. The citrus is aromatic and gently sweetened. The presence of cedar renders the scent a powdery woody texture, while the ginger brings a subtle cool, crystalline feeling to the citrus.

The sillage is soft and the longevity is around 6 hours. Although I'm more drawn towards the tart, juicy, sparkling interpretation of lemon, I did enjoy the cool citrus breeze of Bergamotto di Calabria immensely. It would definitely make a refreshing experience on a sultry summer day.

tunya

I believe it's unisex, so decided to try.
Very fresh, clean citrus with a dry understated woody finish. Didn't get any of the described spices, just the citrus and woody notes.
I wouldn't buy it for myself but would quite enjoy it on my man. Seems like a nice all-year round scent, mostly for daytime wear, but one would get away wearing it as a day-to-night fragrance too (might however need a top-up spritz towards the end of day).

Amazing..!! The Acqua di Parma line is incredible and a “best kept secret” for fragrance perfumers…

I was reminded this morning of the clean and fresh feeling of wearing Acqua di Parma’s, Bergamotto di Calabria. This juice is good..!! Out of the bottle, you get the initial blast of bergamot notes followed by the dry-down into an extraordinary blend of citrus, ginger, green, and a whisper of vetiver notes. Somehow, I have managed to accumulate nine (9) of the Acqua Di Parma fragrances – each unique and amazing in their own identity, but all share a common citrus DNA. While Bergamotto di Calabria (BdC) is geared toward Spring and Summer wear, it does offer great flexibility during this timeframe – from casual outings to more formal events. I find that BdC lingers close to the body and unfortunately, last only about four (4) hours on me and clothing. But during that 4 hour window – whoa, this juice is good stuff.. Given the brevity and low sillage of the fragrance, I would suggest that BdC is “office safe” and will add that based on the note composition, BdC is totally unisex.

My final tally for Bergamotto di Calabria is 4.0 stars out of 5.0 stars. It is classy, refined, and will leave the wearer feeling clean and fresh. If this fragrance only had greater staying power, definitely a Top 5 fragrance. Based on my increased confidence level while wearing today, BdC comes with a solid recommendation to add to your collection and is a definite “love” in the fragrance community…

Enjoy your day and happy fragrance hunting…

landshark321

Bergamotto di Calabria embraces the semi-bitterness of the eponymous bergamot note, which stands out above all else and is mainly paired with a musk base.

I haven't tried many fragrances that rely solely on bergamot, not coupling it with another citrus or top note, but this is almost a refreshlingy bitter take on a citrus-heavy fragrance. Its opening only is slightly saltier and more acidic than its dry down. Longevity and projection are on par with most other ADP fragrances, good but not great.

Most reviews cite similarities to Dior Homme so I'd have to try that to compare, but as it stands, this is a pleasant warm weather day fragrance. Still debatable if it merits the Acqua di Parma price, cheaper designer options notwithstanding, but something that I imagine most men and some women could pull off in the summer especially. I probably wouldn't opt to buy this as I get a similar-enough experience from the cheap, grapefruit-based Elixir White by C.O. Bigelow, but some may find ADP BdC more compelling.

racb

Overwhelming lemons. All I got was lemon. Not a deep or complex scent.

Edited to say after two hours of dry down I can't smell anything at all.

Gilsan

Lovely scent but try Dior homme cologne which is half the price...

periquito89

In my opinion it's the weakest of the Blue Mediterraneo scents. It has a mild citric tone, so never sharp, harsh and even less strong. The citric notes never stands out alone, being for the begining to end always mixed with a sweet tone, not candy like, maybe more like a mild flowery note (I can't identify it more acurately), just a bit sweet, to give a balance to the composition. As the others Acqua di Parma Blue Mediterraneo scents, everthing feels natural and in place.

arcticfox71

I didn't love or hate it. It opened smelling exactly like orange flavored Pez candy and settled into a pleasant enough citrus zest smell. Not a particularly complex fragrance. You get all citrus all the time, at least on my skin to my nose. It may still be a little too cold in the Midwestern US for this, but it was warmish and sunny and I really wanted to try one of my AdiP samplers.

steve0580

VERY similar to Atelier's Grand Neroli, except this one has a slight bit more of a tangerine type of scent. It opens with a citrus blast, rapidly becomes a skin scent and then dies.

As much as I like the fragrance, I can't spend this kind of cash on something that has so little longevity. Grand Neroli is a much better buy.

dsty

This perfume makes for a very pleasant hour. First there's a very nice blast of fresh citrus for ten minutes or so, and then the ginger begins to dominate on my skin and it starts to smell deliciously like cookies. Still some citrus in the background but mostly sweet ginger. This split personality makes it interesting and great for every season, and if it lasted more than an hour I think I might love it. As it is, I like it very much.

jhitt793

A somewhat one note fragrance, this hesperidic offering from Acqua di Parma is definitely bright and cheerful. Intense citrus facets of bergamot are further amplified by citron, beautifully capturing both the sour and bitter notes found in the freshly peeled rind and pith of each. Unfortunately, this is all that one can appreciate, as the accompanying notes are so far relegated to the background as to be nonexistent. I am only able to note subtle nuances of ginger far into the dry down, which does pair nicely with the intense citrus. Rose and cedar are lost on me. Lastly, barely perceptible vetiver (here capturing its lemony and woody facets) is noted several minutes after applying. Like most other citrus based fragrances, its tenacity and sillage are weak. I prefer Creed's Neroli Sauvage over this. (147)

Arabian Knight

My favourite of the Blu Mediterraneo iterations. It hits just the right tone for me in terms of freshness, with an intensely cool bergamot and lemon, but sadly lasts barely 30 minutes on my skin.

Lana148

To me, it smells like citrus, bergamot, soft pine and little ginger. Love it! It's so fresh, little sweet and yummy! Easy summer scent, but longevity is not great around 2 hours on my skin.

I prefer this version over the other citrusy fragrance from Blu Mediterraneo - Arancia di Capri . Arancia smels more masculine on me.

Germany

Zesty lemon !
This one is my forth favourite out of the blue line. Mandorlo being the first then Mirto then Fico Amalfi and now this. I am not sure if I will purchase it though because its true , the lasting power is not as good as with the others. But I usually don't mind that and just take it along and respray every hour ;).
This one is like sweet lemon pie. Very good !!!! Its so lemony and the ginger and ceader with the tonka is quite gourmandish to my nose. I can't resist it.
A great choice for warm summer days !
I still prefer Mirto and Fico as well as Mandorlo but if I ever add onto my colection it will likely be Bergamotto

paul garrad

Another great smell from Acqua Di Parma, which lasts for all of 20 - 30 min, shame, why do they do this.

PricklyAndHot

I can't say that I like fragrances with the leading bergamot note.

But in this fragrance the bergamot note goes together with the citron note, so it smells pleasantly citrusy fresh enough. Luckily the musk note is not strong, so it's crystal fresh enough. The vetiver and benzoin notes are far from being strong, too. And the red ginger note doesn't seem spicy. Floral accents are also almost not noticeable.

Good citrusy fresh fragrance for the hot weather, but not my favorite in this line. And in general.

Houdini4

This is heaven for me very very strong zingy opening from the bergamot and citron which settles in quickly. It's a classic combo of citrus & Musk with benzoin and vetiver to give it a lovely baseline and it works. This is a great scent I've not a negative thing to say about it. All of these EDT's are not massively strong but strong enough and have average longevity and sillage...just spray a bit more if you want?
All in all Id have the entire collection as they're just spot on really really good stuff again from Acqua Di Parma.

osiris5

yes this is a beautiful smelling perfume.
In the opening its citric with a dominant bergamot.
It just fades too quick to smell the middle note and it ends in a nice flowery-wood scent with rose and vetiver.
A nice scent for all day use especially on warm summer days. It reflects a moderate Italian afternoon at a garden. Its longevity isn't that great.

anna.dkr5

Scent-wise, it's a beautiful, natural-smelling citrus. Very pleasant and refreshing. Projection is between soft and moderate. Not sure about longevity yet. I'll keep you posted.

UPDATE: Longevity is moderate. It's been about five hours since I sprayed it on.

Hot summer days are approaching and nothing can cheer you up!
But wearing Blu Mediterrano series which resembles sightseeing in wonderful Italy can make you feel better!
Here we don't have sporty fragrance.
You can wear this fragrance when you wanna stay calm and relax!
Such as lying on a beach, camping on a green valley of mountain or being on a voyage!
And that makes these series a perfect choice for this damn wheather!
Now about Bergamotto di Calibria:
This fragrance starts with a fresh and very natural scent of citron and bergamot.
It feels like smelling fresh cut of bergamot but it's a little sharp.
Then a bitter note of ginger with a warm note of cedar wood make it balance.
And finally we have pleasant (still very natural) woody-citrus notes of vetiver and bergamot.
I highly recomended this one for all citrus lovers specially fans of bergamot.
But sadly it doesn't have a good power of sillage and longevity! :(

neckar

Fragancia cítrica cuyas notas principales: vetiver, bergamota y limón. Una fragancia que me transporta a mi querido Mediterráneo siempre sugerente, perfecta para los meses de calor.

sirop de Liège

This perfect hot weather scent makes me feel happy and reminds me of my youth when we used a suntan lotion called Bergasol which smelled very similar! Bergasol still exists but it doesnt smell the way it used to do. On me it lasts for aprox 2 hours but on my clothes it stays much langer!
I also tried Tom Ford's Neroli di Portofino which costs three times more ( at least here in Belgium) and is also a perfect summer scent but that one lasted for a day or two on the paper testing strip but on me it also doesn't last longer then two hours!!! For that price...

Tramontane

Gone in 30 minutes. I love all the Acqua Di Parma Blu Metirraneo fragrances I have tried. My favourites so far are Mirto di Panarea and Mandorlo di Sicilia, however they all suffer from poor longevity on my skin. This Bergamotto di Calabria has been the most disappointing so far, the bergamot and lemon are very prominent, and then the ginger kicks in and after that there is barely anything at all. What a shame. Perhaps it would be better and last longer in warm sunshine, but every time I have tried it the weather has been very British; dull, overcast and rainy. I am not going to give up though and will try the rest of the range. Unfortunately, where I live, no one sells Acqua di Parma and I have to go to another city. At their prices I don't want to buy blind and have it all gone in a week.

Deefit

I really like this scent! It's got the citrussy freshness but also something soft and warm. It's a really big shame this is gone after 30-45 minutes max.

The scent itself is beautiful, very natural and uplifting. But the very poor longevity and projection make this a very expensive fragrance to buy and wear in my opinion.

evacecilias

This was perfect to refresh myself with without having a shower getting home from work after a hot day... The bergamot/lemon freshness that came first was beautiful. Then I got lovely early whifs from a soft almost childish musk..dont know how to describe it otherwise.
The ginger makes the wear somewhat sharper and interesting .the benzoin and musk makes this a fluffy almost inttoxicating skinscent . Nice soft but not like what I expecred it to be. A nice wear when wanna smell clean I guess, but with style and no detergent feel too it at all !

kazewayz

Is a nice scent, nothing more. Good for day time use, on a summer day. Doesn't really last long as almost all the Acqua Di Parma's. This one was of course citrusy in the beginning and although I'm not a huge fan of citrus this one nailed it. It was fresh, it reminded me of the sea being somewhere in a yacht dressed in white and blue. A good fragrance, wished it lasted longer. Try it.

asmhfdbds

It's a happy lemony ginger and vetiver smell , i meantioned vetiver because i get a little soapy effect in the background.
To me it smell like babies cologne , clean and fresh but not the quality that i was expecting.
weak in longevity and projection.

I'll pass...

esteban747

I have an on and off relationship with this perfume. I bought it two years ago and I remember thinking: "What's so special about this?" I thought it was a waste of money.
So today I decided to give it a try (one more time)and took the time to smell it without any preconceptions. The first notes are bergamot and other citrus and just a little bit of ginger and flowers. The drydown is a light green/woody mix. This is a very nice fragrance with a problem (on my skin), longevity. This is a gorgeous, fresh, clean fragrance that I wish it would last for at least six hours. But sadly in a couple of hours I was left without a trace of perfume.
So now I wear it when I go to bed after a shower.

wesleyhclark

It goes on smelling precisely of lemon drops. It's a nice citrus scent, but, sadly, it's very light and doesn't last long on my skin at all. (Gone within a couple of hours.) It needs to be sprayed upon clothing to have any utility.

Bang for the buck is not good with this one.

9-na

A present. Lived for 25 hours on me, that one. Real or just the opposite of real bergamot took its time to turn into unreal powdered flowers. Nice. I liked it.

sf2explus

nice lemoan/bergamott scent with mild ginger and vetiver. quite natural smelling scent so its a very high end citruss scent. having a scent like this is always handy in any wardrobe with less projection but a skin scent its like a scent you want on the skin so someone can only smell it if they hug you. even though the scent is sold as EDT think of the scent as an EDC. sillage is very weak after the first 2 hours.
lasting power is 2-4 hours and a skin scent after that. The bottle design is very nice something different (120ml bottle look better 60 ml have a skinny look) . before i got into niche scents i once saw this in a dept store and tried it on because of the bottle design and didnt realise that this brand is actually quite high end stuff. sprayer is perfect you will get a wide mist so will catch you very well.

Scent 7.5/10

Mirella7

A nice start with bergamot. Then the lemon is getting stronger and stronger. I still liked it. But suddenly it is all over, just a bit of ginger left (and I suspect some peony, but I might be wrong). How can they be serious about this? The lasting power is like the cheapest cologne's and the price is 60 euros. Dislike!

carinas

I love Acqua di Parma whole Blu Line.
Bergamotto is so refreshing and true to life citrus. The very big problem I have with this line is the staying power, which is non-existent. After 5 min of pure joy it's all gone. And I mean all gone, not even a trail of it left. It's a shame, for such a good company like Acqua di Parma, the scent should last longer than 5 min. Oh well, I better stick with their Iris Nobile (which has great staying power).

Trvevil

Wow this fragrance is so cool and impressive :o I'm really starting to like Blu Mediterraneo line and this one is second one that I really loved after Mandorlo di Sicilia. I noticed that I have strong liking for cologne like fragrances lately xD

Anyways first spray is like blast and smells like lemon very intense and natural- also there is thing that recalls crushed leaf smell. I mean lemon leaves. Nice and really what I needed in this hot, pretty sultry day.

Later it softens and I noticed some warmth- like there was incense present. Still now in dry down phase I can sense something like that. It reminds me of bright church in southern. It's white and there's lemon trees everywhere around. It's so cool D:

mal23

I really enjoy this scent from the Blu Line of Parma. I am a big fan of the lemon and bergamont mixed with the vetiver and cedar drydown. It adds a nice masculine warmth and for the summer. Overall a 8/10.

mariotgomez

At first the amafi lemon is very strong. It gave me flashbacks of my mother polishing our wooden table with Pledge. This citrus smell begins to soften shortly after 15 minutes.

Then the vetiver and cedar notes warm up beautifully. I could not smell any of the ginger notes. This fragrance has too short of a staying power. I have other Acqua di Parma Blue Mediterraneo line that have a longer lasting power.

I intend to test this a couple of more times before committing to purchasing this AdP fragrance.
