Gourmandivi

Love at first sniff!! Smells like an almond biscotti with candied orange, kind of like a Pannetone fresh out the oven. Not too sweet, not too food like but still delicious and gourmand. It is a beautiful fragrance!!

Yonik_Va

I can't explain in words how much I love Mandorlo di Sicilia

lmnsvgz

ELEGANTLY made almond! It is sweet but not dessert-like, it is very beautiful, likeable if you are an almond lover. Really creamy, soft base

HMY

I am gourmand lover perfume; more foody it smells, better for me so I was so excited to try this. Unfortunately, i have to agree with most comments; the scent is weak and also on me it smells like burnt rubber, on dry down I can detect some almond but otherwise this is nothing close to nice almond perfume.
Italica is still no 1 almond perfume for me.

LePianoMan

Okay honestly I kind of get the root beer float comparisons, but MOSTLY, this smells to me like almond extract made into perfume. Literally as soon as I sprayed it, it smelled like I was sniffing a bottle of almond extract, but without the sharp alcohol that you get from that.

The best way I can describe this scent is if you got a whiff of almond extract in your kitchen after making vanilla shortbread cookies 6 hours ago. You really get more of that gourmand 'almond cookie' smell in the air, while you get a hint of the star anise if you smell this directly off of your hand or wherever you applied it (I always apply on the back of my hand the first time I try a perfume).

This to me is the definition of gourmand and I'm now realizing is one of the only "true gourmands" that I've ever tried. I can literally almost taste it. Beautiful stuff, if you like almond cookies or the smell of almond extract you will LOVE this. I don't think it's overly sweet at all but that's purely subjective and up to personal preference and sweetness tolerance, of course. Having purchased a 5oz bottle with about 4.25oz remaining for $50 off marketplace, I'm a very happy man. For the money I paid, this is an insane deal but even for the money Jomashop is charging for the full 5oz bottle, it's still an amazing price IMO.

Projection is STRONG for the first half hour to an hour. One spray on the back of my hand completely filled my space (I was in the car at the time, which probably contributed, since my hand was closer in proximity to my face than it usually would be just walking around), and surrounded me in a delicious scent cloud on my drive home. After that first hour, it mellows out and has probably a half foot of projection but like I said, you will continue to get whiffs of it in the air. Even though the perfume itself is not super strong on my skin after two hours, I'm still smelling it in the air which to me is a positive sign. Great for going out for errands, maybe even for wearing to sleep or just around the house.

I know low longevity is viewed as a negative by most of the community, who want something that will last all day, but it becomes irritating for me at times. A lot of the time, I want to be able to spray something in the morning and apply something else entirely in the evening depending on how I'm feeling then. Super strong perfumery makes this difficult and while I love a long-lasting perfume, I'm starting to find a lot of joy in perfumes like this that light up your world and give you the smell you're craving for a couple hours and then allow you to move on.

Bijousmere

Very similar to the sadly discontinued Jo Malone Vanilla & Anise. Delicious, mouth watering almond cookie with the slightest hint of black licorice/anise. I love how soft and delicate this fragrance is. I think it's impossible to overspray.

marietangerine

This smells like an adult version of a rootbeer float. Light, effervescent, playful. Something you might enjoy on a small yacht off the coast of Amalfi. Small batch soda with less sugar and more anise, vanilla bean gelato, blazing hot sun but a cool oceanic breeze ruffling your big sun hat. The most dominant notes are certainly the vanilla, green almond and anise - but are followed closely by the Ylang Ylang, peach and something warm and a little bitter/earthy grounding it all … probably the tolu balsam.

I also get black jujube from this. I love it! A unique summer gourmand.

Luis009

Pretty exotic cologne to wear if you're a guy. I love it! I get why some other dudes wouldn't wear this, but I do because it fits my personality. It's really hard to pull off a gourmand fragrance for the summer, but this one gets the job done. Performance is lackluster on my skin, so I recommend you to get a bigger bottle (150 ml) so you can reapply it during the day. I would buy it again because it smells so unique and natural, like creamy vanilla and green almonds.

Iconic'80s

I blind bought a 150ml. I know. That was dumb.
It got such good reviews though, except for the longevity which I can overlook because I bought such a large bottle and I really wanted a nice quality vanilla in my newly forming collection.
On first spray I thought, this smells like wintergreen, which in my mind the only thing that smells like wintergreen is Pepto Bismol.
Then I re-read some reviews that said it smelled like rootbeer. Now I'm thinking, yes, I can get that.
Then I saw one that says it is like a creamy rootbeer float. Now, yes, I can get that too.
So weird.
I'm not mad that it doesn't last that long.

GeorgieP

One of my favourite scents... but it only lasts for a fleeting moment. Such a shame.

vblueskyeye

very lovely scent

TJperfume

I really don't understand what is being sold here. This is so weak, i just smell nothing.
By far the weakest perfume i have ever had.
Vanilla smells like playdough......

Salem scent witch

This smell like a creamy root beer float to me, I love it! It lasts about 6 hours on me and it’s available at lots of discounters. I blind bought a 30ml and I’m going to get a bigger bottle.

schatzrose

Sweet summer scent without being cloying.
My fiancé is crazy for it and thinks it smells like Kinder Bueno😀
This is a perfume I would wear strolling around the streets of Italy with a flattering summer dress 👗

Ptitdinosaur

It's such a soft and sweet scent ! People are saying it smells like rootbeer and it's so true. I'm excited to wear it next summer, it's not to cloying and perfect for hot days. At first I was a bit scared because of the anise note, but I don't smell it that much in the opening.

Bordo

This is very nice and pretty unique. Powdery, sweet, vanillic, a bit floral. Star anise and almond make it a very nice vanilla scent. Cute, pretty but not childish blend. I would not crave for it but it is still enjoyable to wear. Haven't tried anything like it before.

Chuneyes

Smells like rootbeer, has that strange aspartame almost scent, like what a diet coke tastes like that's what this smells like lol that's the only way I can describe it. Mukhallat has a similar quality about it. I do like this scent but it is strange on the skin at first.

Gilsan

This has to be one of those scents that just doesn’t agree with my skin…. Sickly vanilla and a strange medicinal scent… It’s a no from me 🙃

Scarlett610

This smells just like a freshly opened root beer soda from start to finish. The dry down has a bit of a playdough vanilla quality to it.

CustardBunny

this is heaven. An almond pastry with vanilla and a peach filling. Its so soft and quiet like a petite little white mouse that belongs to a princess sleeping on a small satin pillow.

eternxl315

definitely smells like root beer to me

JustMyVibe

Smells like a girl I'd want to date. I got it in a trade thinking it was more gender neutral. It's definitely feminine. But it does smell really good. In my opinion, I'd rather smell this on a woman than Baccarat Rouge.

LauraVTerrazas

My son's favorite fragrance of all time (he's almost 10🤭)
💕

neferpitoo

Impossible to detect - smelled multiple different samples in so any differnet stores, on skin and on paper, many times, throughout a whole day, with many sprays. This smells like nothing. Not once have I been able to smell the scent of this no matter how or where I spray it, very saddening

Nate8796

Never smelled anything like this, let alone in the vanilla category. To me, it’s equal parts spicy and sweet with star anise as the most distinct note. Peach and ylang are interesting notes that work so well together. Nothing synthetic or childish in my opinion, so well balanced and appealing.

VanillaBubbleBunny

Smells a lot like LIRA to me. Does not have quite as much citrus on the opening but dry down is very similar, powdery, sweet, vanilla and almond. I am considering buying this but already have a bottle of LIRA and don’t find them different enough to justify it.

iszzieanna

This was magical upon first spray. Sweet, almond, vanilla, smelt like baking cookies. However, this fizzy cookie smell disappeared within seconds. Now it smells like sweetened Dr. Pepper on my skin

yazzakasbah

Delicious, just like cantuccini. Sweet almond vanilla. Lasts quite a while and is a warm and comforting high quality perfume.

vtdsz

The least interesting fragrance ever made by the Acqua di Parma house.
Unimpressive.
A feminine super-sweet bomb that's linear from beginning to end and it's cloying like hell.
There are literally other 3 dozen fragrances with the same scent profile one can buy, even by a cheaper price.
A huge pass.

soley.fragrance

Smells just like bubble gum in entry a very sweet feminine like fragrance recommend for office

chyan

Very weak and sweet. It does smell like root beer, and there is nothing appealing or distinctive about this fragrance except that it's inoffensive and easy to wear. Maybe I don't get the Acqua di Parma vibe as I don't think I have liked anything I've smelled from the house.

figgypudding

Love this - yummy, spicy, almondy, almost root beer scent. It feels like a summer version of the roasted cinnamon almonds at German Christmas markets. I am going to have to sample a few more times, as it might be a bit too sweet and gave me a headache with extended wear.

marygoodgeryyz

This is a bright, fizzy root beer on my skin and I'm IN LOVE. It's exactly as I hoped it would be and is so different to anything I've liked and owned. I'm putting it on my Christmas wishlist and hope to wear it all next spring and summer, because even though it doesn't last very long I'm happy to respray and get another fresh hit of it.

Disclaimer: All my reviews are my personal scent opinion only, please take them with a grain of salt!

emilyjxne

A sweet, creamy gourmand but it’s light rather than dense so it’s great for spring/summer. I hate liquorice/aniseed and was worried the star anise would lean that way but it doesn’t at all it’s just a hint of spice/aromatic nuances.

it’s an edt so it’s not in your face but you get little wafts through out the day.

Skinscents4Fusspots

The root beer (or for non-U.S folks like myself, dandelion and burdock or sarsparilla soda) vibe sitting atop a sweet and creamy almond and vanilla, is unique in such a summery perfume. It’s sweet and light and undeniably pretty, but the medicinal feel of the spices are definitely an acquired taste. I like it, but probably not enough to invest in a full bottle.

I’ve had Dragée from the Notes Gourmand range by Reminiscence and that one isn’t as interesting as this and it’s sweeter and more powdery. I don’t think this really smells like Green Lover by Lolita Lempicka as that’s fresher and more zingy. The unusual scent in that one is less root beer and more gin and tonic…. It’s got a bitter tannin bite rather than an antiseptic one. It’s Root Beer mixed with Cream Soda like @N|ne said!

I feel like this is closest over all to Dior’s Hypnotic Poison, in that it’s sweet and almondy but has that root beer-like scent that persists throughout the wear. Mandorlo di Sicilia seems like the perfect summer perfume for anybody who loves HP in colder weather!

fformoso88

It’s a lovely vanilla, almond scent. Yes it smells like root beer but I’m good with that. It smells delicious and is subtle enough for everyday I feel as well. It’s a comfy, cozy scent. I love that it means almonds from Sicily because my family is Sicilian. Basically why I bought the fragrance 😩😂 but it smells amazing too!

thehanna

Hyperrealistic cream soda - vanilla and almond with anise. Very soft skin scent. Drydown is powdery with a touch of peach skin and citrus but very light. Really loved the notes listed for this scent but the anise just takes over.

JusttheFactsMan

#166 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Root beer float with vanilla ice cream topped with sliced almonds, and maybe a dash of some sort of berry flavored Kool-Aid? Hard to identify specifically. Could be strawberry or cherry. Can't really tell. It's different. I'll give them that. That super-sweet, powdered drink mix scent is a bridge too far for me. But I give AdP a "C' for creativity on this one.

JustMyVibe

Too feminine for me. But I like how it smells.

CowLover99

I really like this scent. With the almond, anise and vanilla combined, it reminds me of a freshly baked cupcake, even more than other perfumes that are purposely trying to be cupcake-like.

Carpe Noctem

I fell for this one hard after a friend gave me a decant, and now I have several bottles.

It’s a strong vanilla almond on me with star anise as a supporting player. I have no idea why this gives off a root beer or soda scent but it does and I’m here for it. It’s more than that of course, but I love the entirety of it. It doesn’t remind me of any (so far) in the “reminds me of” section. It’s so unique to me.

In my California Mediterranean climate and on my normal to dry skin, I get wonderful strong sillage, and it lasts on my skin almost 24 hours, until I take my next shower. Sure it’s a skin scent by then, but it’s still a strong skin scent. Before that I get 3-6 feet of sillage. I hope they never stop making this!

SNKIOP

Spring, Fall Scent: 4,5/10 Sweet, Almondy and a bit minty in the opening. The scent is sweet and too feminin and cloying for me. It smells nice but I think there are better, less sweet scents out there. The most noticeable note in the drydown is without a doubt the almond. Great for the spring without a doubt. Silage 6/10 Longevity 7/10

ckorp8

The opening was wonderful with light almond mixed with a hint of mandarin. The vanilla which came later was also light. Rather soft a fragrance. Too soft for my liking but then again I can always add more sprays.

Fine_Bovine

I’m in my third day of sampling this perfume along with the rest of the Blu Mediterraneo line.

I was immediately drawn to this because to my nose it is HIGHLY reminiscent of Diptyque Eau Duelle which I adore. Same sweet but dry vanilla smell that permeates the entire wear.

Outside of the initial spritz, I don’t get much citrus but I’m continuing to test as it could just be nose fatigue. It’s sweet and definitely feels like a gourmand to me, but it’s not heavy at all. Feels especially great for the late days of spring/early days of summer where there’s sun but still cooler temps. I’m excited to test in the heat. It wears close to the skin and is inviting.

It’s also the longest wearing of the BM group. That’s not necessarily saying much, but it leaves a much longer impression than the other scents so far, particularly Fico di Amalfi and Arancia di Capri.

So far I’m enjoying this a lot but am not sure if it’s full bottle worthy. I just can’t tell if I love this on myself as much as I love to smell it around me.

N|ne

Starts out smelling of sweet almond extract on my skin, dries down to fizzy cream soda w a splash of root beer. Very pleasant very sweet. I was thinking it was very feminine but then it reminded me of a sweet yet masc frag my dear father used to have and wear occasionally called Cigar, remy lateur (sp?). So I can see the unisex factor.

razorsedge

Very sweet for a cologne. Performance on me was sub par unfortunately - done in 20 minutes.

kangbi

very pretty scent but it doesn't last long. nice powdery and sweet !

Graduate2018

This reminds me so much for Green Lover by Lolita Lempicka!!!!

Follow me @perfumista225 on IG for perfume reviews

Filepp

Since I think most of the citrus powered summer fragrances smell like lemon scented toilet air fresheners, this is definitely a nice light sweet alternative to use.
Vanilla and powdery notes is all it projects for me, but in a unique way.
Unfortunately do not last long for me, but till it does its a warm experience.

FreddieMercury'sCat

Star anise is the strongest note I can pick out. The vanilla makes it quite creamy. This is definitely a gourmand, so don’t expect any freshness from the citrus notes. It’s not there. I can’t pick out the floral notes, either.

Edit: as this developed, I could smell some similarities with Map of the Heart V7. Not a dupe, but similar enough to make me notice. Map of the heart is medicinal, though. I don’t believe this fragrance is.

kristianagk

such a nice scent!!! but does not last!!!!!!

Cemrakip

I got this to use as my new summer scent. I loved it in the store and it lasted about 10 hours on my wrist, but after using it the day after, it only lasted about 4 hours, and my friend said you could barely smell it when she hugged me. I wanted to use this fragrance as my signature summer scent, but I'm not going to as the performance is too disappointing.

Fraggremo14

Sometimes I spray this and it's lovely and soft and sweet and I really like it. On the other hand, the almond can come through as very synthetic and screechy and throws everything off balance. On me, it see-saws between the two.I don't think I'd splash out on a full bottle of this because I don't love it, but if realistic gourmands are your thing, this would be a lovely scent to wear in the sunshine. It's very light and airy but as an EDT, don't expect it to stick around too long.

OfTheValley

Just the perfect, balanced, elegant almond scent. I absolutely adore this perfume and wear it a lot, especially in summer and as a go to bed scent. It is unique: cozy, warm and fresh at the same time, sweet but not cloying, gourmand without smelling like food.
In the wintertime I layer it with Eclats d'Amande by CSP to amp up the almond vibe. In summer it can be combined with the Arancia di Capri from the same range or any other citrus fragrance.
10/10, a masterpiece.

bvarney_zip

This smells like a Vanilla Coke added to a root beer float. Yum!

Fantti

I does indeed smell like root beer! Initial spray is a little medicinal, but then turns into sweet root beer. After a few hours lovely spicy vanilla almond.

suki0101

The scent is nice but it is so faint and weak, I can barely smell it!! 0 Projection so I don't see the point. Also the almond is pretty weak, its mainly creamy vanilla.

heraklaitos

Strong almond vanilla scent. Feminine. I read some other comment about it being similar to 1 million and I agree. I tried it from a tester at the Malaga airport. Sillage is powerful, longevity impressive.

Commonscents99

This smells like a creamy root beer. It has a sweet drydown but I would say it’s light enough that it is suitable for summer. My only gripe about these fragrances from Acqua di Parma is that they are EDT and don’t last too long on skin.

Dad's Sweater

2024 Update: After having experienced how it behaves on fabric and skin in the summer heat…I started loving it. I also regularly layer it w L’Occitane Eau de Baux, which works really well.

2023: When a friend who lost interest in it gave me his 30 ml, I really wanted to love it. But so far I get associations with 1970’s suntan and other cosmetics. Somehow it feels like it never knows what the right time or place is for itself :/

Still winter here so I haven’t tried it in warm weather yet; maybe it becomes really sexy when all you need to wear is a T-shirt, I’m hoping that’s the case.

Either way this is not a comfortable transporting easy almond/vanill to me (like my beloved Etro Heliotrope is); something feels off. So interesting how differently we perceive these things.

Edemay

Honestly the perfume parlour dupe of this is even better
Just wish it was more accessible for me

P_a_p_e_rcuts

Based on the notes I thought I’d love this, but sadly, it’s not for me. I don’t get any almond (which is my favourite note). It opens with super strong alcohol, probably the strongest in my collection, and it lasts about 5 mins. The vanilla is pretty strong for the first half hour on me, and then the star anise just takes over and for the rest of the wear it’s liquorice and cedar. This makes me headachey and feel sick. The wear time on my skin was very good, 8hrs and then skin scent for the next 2hrs. Overall, not for me and not what I was expecting. If you like liquorice then I think you’ll love this.

2whit2quit

Root beer, Jordan almonds, then unfortunately almost instantly disappears on me, and I can’t smell a thing. Gave it to my mum and for whatever reason I can smell it on her, and it’s lovely.

Guts-scents

Rootbeer Float! This is what I get from Mandorlo di Sicilia. IMHO this scent lean feminine, but I can still wear this one. Almondy, Anisey, sweet Vanille, and balsamic. It's unique, but still easy to understand. The performance is good, it last around 7-8 hours with moderate projection. My wife also wear it for her daily rotation, but the opposite from her opinion this is lean to masculine. So it's still quite subjective, this leaning to feminine or masculine. Love it!

Retro_Futurista

Delicious sweet Italian almond dessert. Longevity and projection is really poor, which is just tragic because this could be my signature. It’s a unique gourmand because it’s cold and sweet like a toothache with all the smooth creaminess of the almond.

Lukasssss

Smells great - like a dessert.
What surprises me is that it is not that heavy, it is rather airy and fresh despite the almond and the vanilla.
Probably the most feminine-leaning fragrance that I have smelt from the Blu Mediterraneo line.
It is a nice subtle and intimate scent, but nothing extremely special. 6,5/10.

Ali AlJadi

Smells like a Dentist clinic

Gigi7891

Got a sample yesterday and sprang for the full bottle today. Smells like creamy root beer at first and dries down to a sweet comforting skin scent with a vanilla note. It’s unique and I have never smelled anything like it. So far Acqua di Parma hasn’t disappointed me ! Can’t wait to try the rest of the blue line

Lipsticksuzie

Lovely gourmand without being immature or cheap smelling. I wore this on my wedding day back in 2012, it was between this or Chanel Cristalle eau Verte and I chose this in the end. I love layering this with Arancia di Capri for a stunning summery creamsicle scent.
I can’t think of any fragrance I’d compare this to, which is a compliment.

turnerscott

Heavy almond like Pegasus but ....light...a timeless classic

Vanilla violin

Imagine taking a stroll through a Christmas market in Central Europe - the scent of warm roasted almonds coated in powdered sugar mingles with the aroma of vanilla chimney cakes and anise cookies. For the past 8 years Mandorlo di Sicilia has been my scent of choice for the Advent season - warm, cozy and delicious. This is a true gourmand without a trace of synthetics. Lasts for about 6 hours and stays close to the skin but I don't mind reapplying.
I've worn it in summer too but it felt out of season. It is at Christmas when it is truly beautiful. A great day scent to wear while gift shopping and baking the traditional Czech almond vanilla rolls and the other 20+ kinds of cookies.

velvetvice

This a straight up delicious scent. Gourmand, sweet almond and vanilla.

Very sweet and sugary but it doesn't feel overly synthetic.

From the Acqua Di Parma fragrances I've tested this seems like more substantial one. Not as light and airy as the rest of their stuff.

hola gigi

If I were told this only had 3 notes, I'd believe it... the almond, star anise, and vanilla are the major notes. This is an easy reach scent. Inoffensive & appropriate for most weather and occasions. It wears close to the skin and is practically impossible to overspray. After 2 hours it's only a skin scent, but continues to linger about 6 hours. I agree with the comparisons to Rouge Smoking due to the "soda" vibe of this scent, but Rouge's sillage is much better (as it should be for the price). You could also picture Jean Paul Gaultier Classique having a baby with Kilian Love Don't Be Shy. Overall, it's a pleasant, spicy almond scent to throw on when you're not trying to make a statement.

It can be a little difficult to find yummy, cozy gourmands that work really well in the heat of summer. Mandorlo di Sicilia is one that smells amazing in the summer. It is airy and fresh and smells like a cross between and almond cookie and a fizzy rootbeer.

The opening is fizzy rootbeer for me. It is sweet, spicy and effervescent. As it dries on the skin the effervescence goes away and I start to smell the almond and it transitions from fizzy rootbeer to spiced almond cookie. Sometimes the scent transitions fairly quickly, within an hour. Other times the rootbeer stage last 2-3 hours. I love both phases, so I am happy to enjoy both of them

I wear this most often in the summer, but it's beautiful all year and it usually makes it into the rotation in cooler weather as well. It is a pretty unisex fragrance, but does lean a little more to the feminine side
The first time I smelled this fragrance I was transported back to my childhood. There must have been a hair/skin/body care product that share a similar profile, because this is how my grandpa smelled on Sunday morning going to church. My grandpa has been gone a long time, so everytime I wear this I am reminded of one of the kindest, gentlest, funny men I ever knew. I'm sure at least part of my love for this fragrance comes from that.

The performance of this fragrance is so much better than I expected. The Blu Mediterraneo line is not known for it's performance, but Mandorlo di Sicilia lasts all day and has a deceptively strong projection. I have been complimented wearing this most times I wear it. Even when everyone was wearing masks I was complimented by a cashier behind plexiglass, wearing a mask. I can smell it all around myself most of the day when I am wearing it, at leats 8-10 hours.

I have a couple other fragrances that share some similarities with this one, but Mandorlo di Sicilia is my favourite.
Lolita Lempicka Green Lover is a bit similar, but it is a bit heavier and leans more green. It is also a bit more masculine. It may be an good choice for anyone that finds this one a bit too feminine, but want something similar. The drydown of Nishane Ani is also similar, but it is the deeper, heavier version.

The ADP Blu Mediterraneo bottles are a beautiful cobalt blue. The bottle has a generous sprayer and I only need to apply 3-4 sprays for excellent performance.
The retail price of this line is pretty steep, but Mandorlo di Sicilia is an excellent fragrance with solid performance and attractive packaging. Tester bottles are often available for a steal and are an excellent choice for anyone on a bit of a budget.

...Pleasehold

This smells like how some bubble gum tastes....but in a good way.

You get a fresh medicinal smell and maybe that's why some people think it smells like root beer.

Anyways, it smells great and you won't smell like Macy's or Sephora

Robynwosv

Smells like a vanilla icecream mixed with candied almonds. Imma get this as my signature scent!!! 10/10 love this one

kirstenswing

The opening smells like pure root beer. After 15 minutes or so, it dries down to a sweet vanilla. It lingers as a soft skin scent. Definitely for gourmand lovers.

LuckyDay27

Smells just like root beer!!! Kind of too sweet even though I do like sweet perfumes this is a bit much for me.

samloves

I bought this on a whim a few years back and turned off it very quickly, found it a bit sickly. Fast forward and I’m trying out Love by Kilian due to the beautiful bottle and the hype, found it a little too sweet and it reminded me of something. then it hit me , My unloved Aqua Di Parma Mandorlo. This would be a good substitute for Love, longevity is not the best.

Aglopez09

its a beautiful, rich, yet airy gourmand fragrance. However i had to declutter it because the longevity and sillage was very minimal on my skin.

Dramaloladiva

Oh my goodness! This is beautiful! Warm and inviting and not overly sweet. This is wonderful!!
This was a blind buy because I purchased the big 5 oz. bottle on sale and I am thrilled to say it is a hit!!

Masterfully blended, the notes are working together to create a warm and cozy feeling. I personally think that this would work all year long regardless of the seasons, of course, this is only my humble opinion. There is florals, fruits, vanilla and woods and it works perfectly well on my skin (I cannot tell you how happy that makes me ✨😆✨)!!

All in all, an excellent purchase, a wonderful scent and a happy me!!

who.am.i.you

I agree with this being described as "fresh" and find it to be a fresh woody gourmand. It's almost like vanilla mint ice cream, or a root beer float, from the start and develops into a cedar-balsam based Jordan almond scent after a while. Sort of collectively reminds me of teaberry, which is a Pennsylvania-centric flavor made from a wintergreen plant, thus has a bit of a minty flavor, and is often an ice cream flavor at PA ice cream parlors (and where I'm from). At the same time, I do sense the anise and almond and see how that translates to a sort of minty-herbal sort of smell. Reminds me a tad of candy-coated fennel seeds as well (fennel seeds and anise give off a similar vibe in my opinion, although less licoricey in fennel seeds). It is largely a vanilla scent when all is said and done with hints of the aforementioned. Not a rich or heavy vanilla, but a chilled vanilla that is not at all overpowering on even the hottest of days. I used up an 8 mL travel spray of it and found it to be quite long lasting on my oily-leaning skin, especially in the summer. It made me feel yummy smelling, yet clean, and sort of classy while also wearable for work and the outdoors. Maybe I'm partial to this scent also because my grandparents on my dad's side are from Sicily and Calabria and feel a sort of connection to it in that way also. I want to get a full bottle of this at some point!

derby2169

I don’t really understand the hype about this one, I assume it’s because many people enjoy powdery sweet nutty vanilla scents, but to me all I get with this one is a heavily sweetened almond flour with a good amount of icing sugar and vanilla powder and some fruity notes and a bit of woods.
Not bad, I would wear it if it was given to me but really not something I would personally buy.
I was really hoping for some amaretto or almond granita, but there is none of that dark bitterness here, just a bright gourmand powdery vibe, perhaps even slightly cloying at times.

Grenouille's_cave

This is guaranteed natural sweet delicious granita memories of holidays in Sicily. So glad to have a big bottle. Absolutely gorgeous. Not sickly. Fresh, uplifting, comforting. Great to wear when you plan to have a delightful day. Feels like sitting in a town square in the sun wearing a nice floaty dress eating almond granite and brioche giggling with your best pal.

laukin911

Was looking for a scent that would give me Dior hypnotic poison vibes but for daytime and high heat. Love how carbonated the opening feels but unsure if it turns into too much of a plain vanilla. I wish the root-beer scent lasted longer.

silthrill

A soft and inoffensive gourmand - it does have a component of the Dr. Pepper note but I'm into it. It's like a Dr. Pepper, soft sweet almond. I would call this full bottle worthy if it was stronger and with better performance - for me it lasts about 1 hour and then I need to reapply.

sv7518

I had this perfume and I decided to give away. It’s more feminine than musculine, so my husband wouldn’t wear it. It’s not long lasting and doesn’t project that well. I think Diptyque Eau Delle is a bit similar.

Cymbaline1

love it but I wish it lasted longer on me

PeachPerfume

Absolutely love this gorgeously elegant green almond beauty. The anise at the beginning makes it wonderully unusual. (It also makes this smell like root beer to many at the start; anise fades away within 15-20 mins, and the almond tree because the star.) Blends well with everything from boozy Angel's Share for a date night, to any citrus MFK or a soft peach (eg Peche Cardinal) for a hot summer day. Much less sweet than some of my other favorite nut/vanillas, like Xerjoff's Italica. This is a classic and a crowd-pleaser for such good reason. You can wear it anytime, to anywhere; it is unlikely to offend, and highly likely to snag a compliment.

Rimazy

I cannot get over the fact that it smells like Dr. Pepper :(

alkemi

Smells like ice cream, cookies, pie, archangels! Essentially an anti-perfume and just a fantastic smell. Suitable for all weather and occasions. Never cloying, not masc or fem, just perfecto. The almond comes off green (mandorlo means almond tree) which keeps it in perfect balance with the vanilla, not becoming too sweet. Projection is enough for it be noticeable yet inoffensive. And longevity is great especially on clothes. I can't get enough of it. 5oz bottle worthy.

hsiangchi.huang

Probably my fav from the entire house.

It's a well-balanced gourmand, not cloying as the usual ADP style. It opens with an orange, kinda play-doughy. But it gets better as it drys down. I mostly pick up was vanilla, lots of vanilla - soft, creamy and adds a hint of sweetness. It reminds me of BDK Rouge Smoking a lot. The vanilla is well blended in the almond, which is the same type I find in Rose D'amalfi. This is more wearable than D'amalfi as that one is too dense and can choke the wearer sometimes.

L'eauLark

I’ve been sampling different almond scents. For the first 30 minutes this smells exactly like root beer on me! Then after that it settles to just a nice vanilla. It surprised me with how long it lasted on me, like 10 hours as a skin scent. I might consider buying a full bottle but honestly I think it would serve the same purpose for me as Kayali Vanilla 28 which I already have. For a more recognizable Almond, I’m also sampling Comptoire Sud Pacifique Eclats d’Amande which gives me something more distinguishable from pure vanilla. I’ll probably end up buying that.

ixlllll

incredibly smooth, sweet, inviting and powdery blend.

the peach adds a backbone to this profile that is just unmistakably good. in terms of niche summer perfumery, this is very underrated, especially for the price

Nvans

The opening and first half hour smell like I am eating vanilla pudding. Which is great! This scent is perfect to layer with other scents, the vanilla and almond notes are the perfect sweet base for some more orange or citrus like perfumes on top, for example hermes scents.

onlythesun321

You know those tea cookies that smell SO good, but then they taste like sawdust? This is that. And I absolutely mean that in a good way-- it smells delicious without being very sweet, it's amazing. I mostly get the almond and the anise, and I have to search a little for the other notes-- but those two are so great together, they're creamy and slightly warm without being stifling, and they mix so well together but you can still smell both. I was a little scared of this perfume because I don't like licorice, but this doesn't smell like licorice, it smells like fresh anise, with that deep, slight fruitiness that's so smooth but sharp enough to be noticed.

thebewitchingyasmine

I spent a week in August 2021 by the pool in a small Bulgarian village nestled among the mountains. This eau de toilette, though rich in the kind of notes that heat can turn sickening, was an incredibly light companion to those languorous summer days. Doused in it after going to the pool, the balsam cooled my chlorinated, sunburnt skin. Mingling with cigarette smoke as we whiled away the nights at long dinners. Picking up the glass cola bottles from the night before and saving the caps. Eating ice cream on slow, humid hikes up the leafy, dewy mountainous forests.

irlfireprincess

To me this smells exactly like creamy, vanilla-y root beer. It smelled pretty linear in that respect from start to finish, but I loved it so I don't mind that about it. It's so delicious and truly unisex. Longevity isn't great given that this is an EDT, but it looks like you can get a big bottle from Jomashop for a good price, so I wouldn't mind overspraying. I'd wear this all year round.

laurakaye

Root beer float! I just love the first few sprays of this scent - I can practically hear the fizz from the root beer as the scoop of vanilla ice cream drops into the glass. It's so bright and fizzy and delicious! After it settles, the root beer becomes quiet and it turns into a sunny almond-vanilla that - while gourmand - is definitely wearable in the heat of summer. I do wish it lasted longer, but reapply and there comes the root beer again, which to me is not a bad thing. This is unique, I don't own another gourmand that I love wearing in the summer.

the_enigmatic_oblong

This is outstanding! I find this scent to be very unique and beautiful. It kind of smells like a dessert to me, I wanna eat whatever cake this smell comes from. It lasts a fair bit and projection is pretty good for me. It certainly does not smell cheap to me at all. I think it’s very sophisticated. Totally unisex in my opinion. It’s just a beautiful smell as opposed to male or female. I highly recommend adding to your collection.

saccitygrl01

Opening is definitely vanilla root beer to my nose with a sorbitol (a synthetic sweetner) quality. Not pleasant. Disgusting actually. Gratefully it disappears completely within 30 minutes on me. Definitely do not recommend, not even for a gourmand fan.

Cherry Bloom

In the perfume's defense, as someone stated below: maybe it does not smell too expensive but it definitely doesn't smell cheap. The cloud around you when wearing it is far from being the cloud of a cheap perfume. perfect for gourmand lovers in search for an appropriate gourmand for summer. I've just received my 150 ml bottle since it's juust perfect for everyday use. That's how much I love it! Totally agree with Catmo below. light, airy and delicious

Anitanita.

Lovely, sweet bubble gummy summer scent . On my skin very long lasting and it projects like crazy. After 1 hour it turns into pink hard candy like smelling perfume . Doesn't smell expensive (which is ok with me as isn't expensive) and it is your typical holiday vibe perfume.
I will buy it for sure as it is a gourmand lover must have during summer season .

jepifish

I'm not getting any of that almond gourmand scent. What I am getting is a reminder of the vanilla body spray from the body shop girls at my school used to wear that I found too sweet and weirdly alcoholic. Really sad because this was a decant I had to look hard for because I really was so excited for this perfume. Will pass it onto a relative. Hopefully it works with their chemistry better than mine.

Darcy_x

Orange-Almonde
(It does reminds me of Root Beer)
This is the perfect holiday scent, I wore it to the beaches in Thailand.
Although I think it'd be perfect for Venice summer holiday, drinking Aperol Spritz In the sun.
It's sad that it doesnt last on me at all so I ended up never getting a full bottle of it.

Catmo

This is hands down one of the most mouth watering fragrances I’ve probably ever tried. Smells like a vanilla and almond cake with orange zest on top. I’m kind of obsessed now. It’s similar to Lira & Ex Idolo Love & Crime but I think this one is my favorite of the three. Just because it’s so light and airy but still delicious.

kristoferiscariot

First couple minutes is straight up Root Beer…. But the dry down, the DRYDOWN is absolutely delicious. The drydown reminds me of a Mancera fragrance because of the longevity and sillage. The vanilla isn’t too sweet, but sits wonderfully with the almond creating this almost powdery masterpiece. I usually don’t wear vanilla in the summer, but this is such a summer scent!

Paula80

This is a soft, powdery & not too sweet gourmand scent, that can be worn all year round. Anise & citrus notes in the opening add a bit of freshness; almond & vanilla create a fluffy, delicious cloud, that is very addictive...
I usually wear my gourmands in autumn & winter, but Mandorlo di Sicilia is so light that I can enjoy it also in warm weather. And in winter I like to layer it with other vanilla fragrances.

List of notes from the official website:
TOP: Star Anise, Italian Bergamot, Italian Orange
HEART: Green Almond, Ylang Ylang
BASE: Madagascar Vanilla , Lebanese Cedarwood, Tolu Balsam, Musk

x.rina.x

I was searching for the perfect almond gourmand scent for summer which has sicilian summer vibe, and takes me back into my favourite holyday memory. And this is it!♡ Stunningly fluffy, cloud light almond desserts + freshly picked , juicy velvety soft peaches and the aromatic balmy south italian citrus scent in the air. And the composition is twisted by some anise, which makes the aromatic and fresh vibe more potent so makes the whole fragrance wearable for summer.( at least for a gourmand lover like me)
Love love love ♡

Casey9717

Finally, I've found the scent I've been searching for to end what feels like my never ending pursuit. This is one of the few, the very few fragrances that had my heart from the moment I sprayed it until it wore off. So often a fragrance I enjoy just doesn't work with my body chemistry or I absolutely love the opening and it turns on me later on. I'm also a fan of vanilla fragrances but wanted something I could wear throughout the summer that wasn't too heavy and this was it. The almond, the anise, the vanilla, it's exceptional and I'm sold. It wears pretty close to me and has decent longevity, but because I can't get enough, of course I wish it was stronger, however I have zero issues spraying this all day. In my top 3 fragrances of all time.

missogi

Very sweet, vanilla ice cream. Nothing more, nothing less.

DulciusExAsperis

A *light* almond cake, dominated by the fizzy cream soda in which it's doused.
Cute, but too sweet for me.

Louismanuel

Folks don't let you be scared off by mk6699,
This is NOT WEAK.
Although the fragrances in the Blue Mediterraneo line are no heavy performers, unlike mk6699 is claiming, Mandorlo is a fairly good performer. Only Ginepro in the line performs better. You should get 5-6 hours out of it. This is not a skin scent either.
Unlike the rest of the line, I don't find Mandorlo a Summer fragrance. It is a bit too sweet for that. More Spring. It is though the most versatile of the line. You can wear it all year round. That was the reason I bought it as one of the first in this line.
At that time I owned and loved the Colonia line, of which I owned 3, now 4. I also had the Bergamotto di Calabria. They are all Summer/Spring fragrances.
But in the end I just don't like the combination of Almond & Citrus. I prefer Guerlain Homme Ideal Parfum kind of Almond. Real sweet and winter cozy.
It also is quite similar to HM Hanae Mori for man.

Ksj_

I have 5 fragrances on me currently for a mass testing, and this one is sticking out amongst the rest. That almond/vanilla cake vibe is mouth watering and is making me excited to try this in higher heat to see how it performs.

Side note:

This was totally unexpected from this line, and I highly recommend sampling this. It may be FBW.

GMOPotato

It is sweet but refreshing, like a creamy almond icecream. Im getting creamed vanilla sugar, butter, almond flour baked goods with a hint of that anise spicyness. And in contrast to that is the Ylang-Ylang and Jasmine keeping it lighter and a bit more modest, preventing it from being a boring sugary mess. Its PERFECT for warm summer nights but I think you could realistically wear this any time of the year.

Kelsey22

A mix between creamy rootbeer as a previous reviewer said, and sweettarts. Sweet, powdery, creamy, playful. Really great.

upk

Recommended for those who like vanilla.
The soft sweetness of almonds also enhances the delicious aroma of vanilla.
It's a sweets perfume. Those who like the sweet scent will surely be fascinated.
Similar to the scent of parlumore guimov.

Sully92

This is THE BEST almond fragrance ever (and I've tried every almond frag I can get my hands on)! I get a tiny bit of citrus in the opening but not much. It then it dries down to the most gorgeous almond/vanilla scent with a touch of anise (I don't usually like anise but it's beautiful in this). It smells a bit like brown cream soda. Performance is good. Projection is moderate but it lasts so long, I can put this on before bed and still smell it the next morning. Stunning gorgeous comforting gourmand for any season. In my top 3 favourite frags of all time!

l_02mx

‘Almond Tree from Sicily’ - A perfect and genuine gourmand!

It’s like pure sugar vanilla cookies, it really is gorgeous. It’s not overbearing or sickening. It’s still light and fresh and for an EDT lasts a long time on me (10hrs) although it has minimal projection but I can still smell it on myself here and there. A perfect summer vanilla. Almond note is brief, alongside the anise which is in the background. Very well blended, very addictive. Also excellent presentation. I bought the 30ml but I would definitely consider the larger sizes. This would go great with a coconut/vanilla body lotion. I would consider this a safe blind buy if this is your preferred scent profile.

Cocosette

Very medicinal smell; mint, anise and almond mixed in a way that reminds of an old wood drawer where cough drops had been kept for years.
A hard dislike for my nose. Try before buying.

Zoffe

Was smelling Acqua di Parma in a store with a friend and honestly not paying too much attention, until I put my nose on this. WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD ABOUT THIS BEFORE?!

I've been looking for a gourmand-ish summer scent, and I believe THIS. IS. IT.

First thing I get is root beer with some star anise. In the best way possible.
I pick up the citruses and peach, but never get much of the florals. To me, that's a good thing ;)
Drydown is much more almond/vanilla, but in a kind of dry way. Sweet, but not sticky and very natural smelling.
Very pleasant and comforting. Great to wear to bed.

Great now in springtime, but I think it'll work all year round, and I can't wait to try it in the summertime. Think it'll be great for hot summer nights.

lizaan

This reminds me of ricciarelli (chewy almond meringue cookies with orange zest) and a root beer.

At first sniff I get the star anise, vanilla and almond but also some bergamot in the background. It does give off a bit of a medicinal root beer smell in the beginning and I do get why people call it minty, it's the star anise I think but it's not a cold strong mint but more of a sweet mint.

As the star anise calms down a bit the vanilla and orange begins to take over. Someone said orange tic tacs and I think that's pretty accurate. The peach hangs out a bit in the background but it is not the star of the show here. The ylang ylang is there too but very discreet. As the cedar and musk arrives the scent is basically gone.

Almond can sometimes be a hit or miss for me in fragrances but I think they really nailed it in this one, it's beautiful.

I do really love it and I have nothing like it in my collection but the projection and longevity leaves a lot to be desired and it's basically gone after 1-2 hours. I have a sample but I might get a bottle if I find a good deal on it, I don't know if I think it's really worth it for full price.

Update: So i've worn this to bed for a couple of nights now and it's just so beautiful, I love it! And I've realized that the longevity is better than I previously thought, nothing crazy but it's pretty good and lasts around 6-7 hours on my skin but it wears very close to the skin. Well, I couldn't help myself and managed to pick up a small bottle of this for a good price. Can't wait for it to arrive, it's such a unique and lovely scent.

Big_Willy_Style

Whoever is saying this is minty needs to wipe the Vicks off their upper lip. There is zero mint in this.

5xSecrets!

Really nice! It is perfect for summer with a mix of vanilla, anis, almonds and mandarin/orange. It reminds me bit of comptoir sud pacifique vanille iconique with anis, but more complex and less synthetic. Delicious!

fragrance.bear

I've been wondering what this reminds me of and now that I've seen cortadohalo's review, it dawned on me that this smells like rootbeer. I usually like gourmands, but this isnt my cup of tea. It just smells plasticky and generally unpleasant to me.

cortadohalo

A sweet wintergreen-forward rootbeer scent. The sillage is quiet, but the scent stayed present on me for several hours. Worth a try if you like sweet, gourmand, vanallic scents.

Katazoufala

Minty almond vanilla. Smells like kids toothpaste. Sillage is nonexisting. Don't recommend this at all.

fairymeist

This is one of my top favourite perfumes sweet soft & delicious, to me it smells like lemon, almond and vanilla

Cons: doesn’t last. 😭😭😭

expansivetaste

This is such a powerful sweet fragrance. Upon first spray I instantly felt like I was in a room full of birthday cake. It's definitely one of those fragrances that would be described as sickeningly sweet but I love it. It has Pink Sugar (which I don't like) vibes but with a bunch of hidden little gem notes in there. It's got a lot of depth and lasts until the next day. Even after a shower, I can faintly smell it on my skin.

EspenE

Great scent! Reminds me a little of some kind of bubblegum! I like it but its very sweet!

StackMaintain

Such an amazing gourmand!.creamy, nutty, bright, sexy and delicious 😋. May not have great performance but this is truely q summer/springtime gourmand!😍

SinisterFinister

The smell I can most liken to this is those orange flavour Tic-tac mints. Performance isn't great but works nicely as an evening scent when holidaying somewhere hot. Completely unisex in my opinion

TabledThoughts

So delicious!

Smells much like creamy root beer float.

Love it!

tessture

Super sweet vanilla almond, yes, I get that in tons. The almond is definitely green in that it is unripe, not that there are green notes. I get no citrus or anise to speak of; it’s mostly a very sweet vanilla almond with a floral taint and some musk underneath to make it perfume rather than food. It’s a nice bedtime type scent, but I scrubbed it as it’s too sweet and foody for me. I need my scent to be a bit less sweet. Coz it's so SWEEEEET.

kelleybean

Lovely light delicious almond and anise. Smells to me like a softer Prada Infusion d'Amande without the sharp-ish citrus and iris. Zero sharp edges here, just soft powdery almond and anise. I really like this and although sillage seems very soft, it lasts on my skin and clothing for quite a while. I really like to mix this on my skin with a fragrance oil that is supposed to be the scent of BDK Rouge Smoking (it really smells like it). They are heaven together!

antoniov

It smells very sweet on me, like Italian almond sweets actually (mandola or amaretti biscuits etc.), very children candy like (lollipops and cakes come to mind), vanilla and a sense that someone had taken a bath. I'd say it's best for warm weather but it's not overwhelming. I wouldn't wear it in the summer as it kind of makes me feel warm. It's for those moments when you feel very sweet, playful and want others to perceive you as a pleasant person. I could wear it at work, when shopping or meeting friends or children but not for a sexy date/moment or at an interview. Duration is good too but doesn't leave a trail (elbow length mostly)

maritzza

I smell star anise, almond, peach and vanilla. First impression was sweet and reminded me of cake. Soon after I was annoyed of the bitter almond. This is not for me

Josu01

Star anise, almond and vanilla, what's not to like? This is sweet, delicious, discreet and "clean". A perfect summer fragrance, but I use it year round and it never disappoints. Mandorlo di Sicilia likes to play hide and seek with me, it comes back when I least expect it (or after I'd thought it had disappeared). This has moderate longevity on me and lasts about 6-7 h.

The Wolf

I remember liking this more when I smelled it in the past. Peach and Ylang Ylang pull feminine on my skin, and I'm not crazy about the florals.
Anise, almond and vanilla are well done but lack punch.

Performance wise this is poor, on par with ADP Bergamoto. However, I put up with Bergamoto because it's one of the best citrus fragrances I have ever experienced. This is not close to the best almond fragrance I have ever experienced.

Hopefully it will macerate into the fragrance I remember liking.
If not, it's going up for sale.

Scent 3.5/10
Performance 3.5/10

fanciful

I love love looove this! It's like candy, sunshine and a warm blanket in one. I mostly get orange, vanilla and almond. Very sweet, but not like cheap celebrity fragrances. Intoxicating and delicious.

Meowmeo

Cold anise with bitter almond and creamy vanilla. Overall smells like a bubble gum or toothpaste for kids.

sv7518

I think this is more feminine than masculine and it’s more for cooler weather than summer. Also, the performance is moderate and longevity is no more than 3 hrs on me. I like it, but it’s not one of my top favourite.

E.H.Tersono

On paper this is a sweet delight, a beautiful gourmand. On skin it maintains that scent but adds something else which some people have identified as plastic. I can see that. I think it's the almond and anise working together to make an accord that could be either spice and amaretti, or plastic, depending on how your nose interprets it. I really like this scent but that plastic accord does hold me back a bit from jumping into a bottle.

Sweetasgodiva

What a lovely fragrance which disappointed me with its almost nonexistent silage and projection. I had looked forward to this but If I drowned myself in it I still can’t get the vibe I’m going for which is a perfume that is not even a skin scent...almost imaginary, a mere great 👍🏾 concept, many of my dear friends in the fragrance community would now insert a clever comment or two but words escape me—total fail on me for the aforementioned reasons.

MR COTTRELL

I get better longevity than most looking at the reviews. Sprayed on my hand at 7pm, went our for dinner, then showered and it was still there albeit linear, at noon the next day.

Nothing "feminine" about this at all. Perfectly unisex. It is sweet, so perhaps that's where the feminine comments come from, but why does sweet mean feminine? Lol. My fiancée loves this on me. Smells like high quality cream soda to me. Perfect for summer evenings. I find this to be more masculine to be honest, and certainly more masculine than other Almond/Vanilla scents such as Pegasus by PDM.

fairymeist

This is soo delicious, it is one of the best perfumes I’ve ever smelled. But it doesn’t last at all 😭 I have to reapply all the time

CaseyKCK

I have yet to try a sample of this, but I smelt it at the counter and fell in love. So sweet! and the almond and star anise and cedar make me think it's a winter scent, but then I also think of sicily and the citrus scent as summer notes so I'd say great for year around. I'm not sure how longevity will be, but if it lasts I'm definitely getting a full size. Someone else described it as gourmand but calming in their reviews and I see it! The guy at who was selling it said he uses at night, even sprays it on his bed linens.

FirstSense

This is almost a funny weird fragrance from Aqua di Parma. Famous for it's fresh colognes and mediterranean fragrances with lots of citrus and flowers this is something completely different. This one is an almond vanilla pudding smell that I somehow like a lot. It's a perfect frag for the late evening after a warm sunny beach day. After showering you took all the time to get dressed in nice light summer clothes, the sun sets and dinner is waiting. It's a gourmand fragrance and on me it has a very calming effect. The smell has some synthetic tones but it's rather sweet with a very little fruit note (peach and bergamot). I can imagine this is a big no for some, but I like it very much but only in some particular situations and circumstances. It's a happy frag, so come on with that summer feast while the blue sea waves slosh against the harbor jetty.

ingeneuxo

*Not a review*
-Was recommended to check this out when I mentioned in passing i'd be curious to smell a root beer scent.
-Unfortunately the sales assistant informed me this particular scent has been discontinued.

alexisdaniellexo

Toothpaste and vanilla

mrslevy

On me, it's fizzy, happy root beer with a slice of citrus. It's perfect for those early fall days when it's still too warm out for a heavy, sweet fragrance, but you're tired of summer and want to lean in to the seasonal change. I'm not as big on gourmands as I used to be, but this fragrance just puts me in a good mood. Sillage and lasting power are both moderate, making this an ideal day time casual option. The body wash is even better.

aromadom

Beautiful feminine fragrance. More floral than citrus for ADP. The almond and vanilla with ylang are, you might say, seductive. Playful, elegant, assured, young but very classy scent.

Sheylor.Oliver

For starters, I’m a huge fan of star anise. This fragrance is my root beer float DREAM! But it’s a dream because after 15 minutes, I wake up and it’s like it never happened. Seriously. This is the shortest lived perfume, I’ve ever tried. A B&BW body spray kills it in comparison.

beefribs

as a fan of more floral and citrus scents, i absolutely hâte really sweet fragrances, and actually quite picky with anything too sweet or vanilla, however this one is blended to perfection and the almond notes are just so perfect it gives it almost a woody scent. something you’d wear during fall

KylieBooFace

As an update to my past review, I stand by my original impression. But, it has turned into a "love." This is one of the few scents I can spray again as a pick-me-up during the day (as an eau de toilette) yet seems to last well. I just love how it has complexity yet settles into a lovely root beer vanilla almond with a touch of violet. I find myself craving it during the hot summer, and it refreshes me like a creamy root beer float.

carmenandmonkey

One of my faves! Like you're chewing on pink Bazooka gum and sipping on iced vanilla cola. Yet still elegantly perfumey, well blended and addictive. I'm always smelling my arm to see what notes I can identify and I love wearing this at home. I think this would be great for layering because its adds sparkle and a touch of sweetness!

starlightsteward

Fizzy root beer spice with a hearty dose of vanilla and fresh sawdust at the very end (on skin). Maybe its the blue bottle and summery marketing but it feels more translucent than a heavy wintry vanilla. Despite this lightness it lasts on clothing and I can smell it for maybe 6 hours as a continuous waft of creamy/sugary amaretto; strangely this is immune to the monkey-house effect. Someone mentioned on the skin they got bubblegum, and it marveled me because they are right: powdery pink bazooka joe. Supposedly amyl acetate (with notes of banana/pear) and cinnamon oil generates a fairly accurate pink bubblegum; and with all the fruit, creaminess and spice in this concoction its natural to arrive at that conclusion. Specifically I believe it's the ylang ylang's banana/custard/coolness, combined with the licorice/almond/vanilla, that's alchemizing into bubblegum. Regardless, to your passing neighbor it will waft from clothes as a creamy almond vanilla. As a gourmand lover this is such an exciting scent to discover, new favorite!

Eduardo Reves

at the opening: vanilla extract/vanilla cake/vanilla milkshake/rootbeer. Pick one, nonetheless it is a tasty opening

drydown (less than a minute later): bubblegum and balloon rubber. Now that's where it polarizes

maybe not the right skin?

This fragrance comes from happiness. it really is. I always smell that happiness. especially, this parfume my favorite using time a bit hot and windy days.
sometimes i am doing open the cap and smell and it makes me feel good. this parfume's best skill is usefull of four season and alltough it is sweet, it can be used on summer.

it opening wiht almond, citrus and star anise but almond a bit push down the others but almond sweetness is balancing.
after a short time ylang-ylang, peach and jasmine comes in to play and everthing is getting better.
after than a few hour later all the notes getting out and until to dry same continuing. you can really feeling all the notes in process.in my opinion, it is good blend and nice smell. you should try this.

Keemun

The initial root beer phase is delicious and you can't stop sniffing it. However, 15 mins later, that's completely gone and you're left with an artificial vanilla-almond scent that I find unpleasant. Though expensive, Roja Dove Enigma/Creation-E is a stronger, longer-lasting root beer type tonka fragrance.

Bubbles1964

I acquired Mandorlo di Sicilia Acqua di Parma in a trade and unfortunately, this is a big disappointment. I’m envious of anyone who gets a beautiful summer almond-vanilla scent.

The only description I have is plastic toys. It smells like a preschool playroom and is really terrible on my skin. There’s nothing natural or photo realistic about this scent and after my second attempt to wear it, into the trading bin it goes.

fanntonyoscar

The longevity and projection definitely leave MUCH to be desired. Maybe that’s why it comes in a 5 oz bottle, so you can spray a ton of it…? This smells like a root beer float (or maybe Dr. Pepper) on me, probably because of the star anise. I love, love, love the smell but the performance is too lacking to merit another purchase.

liat

A much more expensive version of 4711 Saffron & Iris (this is the original, of course. The 4711 version was introduced much later). A feminine-leaning skin scent. It's great for summer as the scent reacts to one's body heat by getting warmer and stronger. I get mainly vanilla and anise, way less almonds than I hoped for.
All that aside, this is a really nice fragrance. Would you spend your hard earned money on just "nice"? I know I don't like the idea.

fmas123

I was so excited for this perfume that I blind bought it. As soon as I tried it, I was so disappointed. At first, it smells just like anice (a liquorice/root beer smell). After a few minutes, it turns into a generic sweet vanilla/sugary smelling perfume with a touch of anice, and a hint of that plastic Barbie Doll smell you hear about being in perfumes sometimes. There is really no almond scent. My MAIN issue is just how WEAK the performance is. I have to soak my skin and clothes in it to be able to smell it, and even then, it fades almost immediately into nothing. I am shocked that there are not more people speaking about the horrendous projection and longevity of this perfume...!

Sweetasgodiva

I am disappointed by this. This is definitely a skin scent on me. I would have to shower in it to get any prorejection

anni_cola

Mandorlo di Sicilia is honestly my favorite hot weather, although it could be worn year round, gourmand in my collection and would be my signature scent if I was a less curious person.

When I first spray I get a root beer float that as it develops turns more into vanilla ice cream on my skin. This is a rich, creamy vanilla that never gets cloying. Perhaps it's the fizziness or the fact that while it is sweet, it is a softer perfume with intimate projection. This does not bother me in the slightest since it still traps me in a delightful scent bubble without overpowering others. I love that throughout the day I manage to catch whiffs of it.

Looking at the note period is surprising due to this fragrance being so well blended. I personally don't get too much citrus and is one of the few cedar/musk based perfumes I've encountered that doesn't run too masculine on my skin. The florals are also very understated, this perfume truly lets the vanilla, almond, and light spices shine through. It's simple and sweet enough that fragrance beginners would like it but still sophisticated enough that people farther on their fragrance journey would not feel silly wearing it.

Now on to comparisons in my personal collection. This perfume is what I wished some of the Alien flankers were, however where Aliens will walk into a room and make a grand entrance, Mandorlo di Sicilia enters quietly and warmly greets others. They are in no way the same in regards to sillage, projection, or scent but some notes are similar to nose. Alien Essence Absolu is gorgeous and has a similar root beer note to my nose, however is a dryer vanilla extract that lacks the sweetness of MdS. Alien Fusion's spice is reminiscent of it, but quickly turns spicier during the dry down. If you like Poison Girl, but find yourself wanting a creamy vanilla or something that won't choke you out in the heat, then I would give this a go.

All in all, I find Mandorlo di Sicilia to be an underrated gourmand that beautifully envelops you in rich, creamy vanilla without ever being too dense. The other notes are underrated but support it in the background, and keeps it from being too plain. I hope I never find myself without it, however the 5 fl oz bottles lead me to believe I won't be until I'm sick of it.

root beer fizz

Rivercat

One of my summer staples. It smells like a refreshing fizzy cola vanilla float on me, but not in an overly sweet and cloying way. Performance varies.

Matías Ross

Star anise is the main player here. This is not as almondy as some of my other almond focused scents. This come across femenine to me, but it's lovely while it lasts, it has a very calming, airy vibe to it. It fits my girlfriend better than it fits me.

JustFluxz

The main notes that I smell are vanilla, almonds, anise, and peaches. It disappears within 6 hours and spends most of that time close to the skin, but this scent has become a "love" for me. The scent originally reminded me of the taste/smell of medicine that my mother used to force me to drink when I was feeling sick, which put me off at first, but as I wore it more, I spent more time focusing on the fragrance itself which lead me to really enjoy it. I love vanilla gourmands, but I am not one for much citrus, so I had a gap for fragrances that I could wear in the summer. This is a great option all year round. Most of us probably would want better performance, but due to the low sillage, I think that it improves the versatility in regards to the occasions that you can wear this too. This is perfect for someone who loves sweet creamy gourmands but doesn't want to scream for attention. This will get attention from those in close proximity, but at that point, you are probably already getting the attention that you want.

autobus25

Wow ok! This one surprise me. At first spray I told myself it was my worst blind buy of 2021. Let sit on the skin. Wow! I smell a vanilla biscotti with a little bit of Bergamot. You can smell the layers of theses two notes easily. Don't expect big projection and big lasting on the skin. As someone said before me, spray your clothes too. A good, all year, all day-night, all seasons wearing.

Aveline

My mom's signature. On her it smells like opening a fresh bag of Cadbury mini eggs, subtle yet sweet and vanillic. Fresh enough for warm weather and doesn't bother my senses at all. While it's by all means a lighter scent, sometimes I can smell it on clothes or wafting through the house days later. Unfortunately it totally disappears on my skin! I def recommend wearing it on fabric for better performance,

zind

So glad I got to test this because I have been tempted to blind buy based on the notes. It would have been great if only the peach hadn't ruined it completely for me. I don't know if it's my skin or my nose, but peach tends to stand out to me, it's always a bit screetchy and overpowers everything else. I'd just like to give a heads up. If you struggled with peach you might want to skip Mandorlo or at least test it first. Btw, I have Dragée and that one works great for me

It's an addiction

Surprisingly, given the different notes, this seems very similar to Armani Code Satin. Mainly the opening of both is almost identical. [That is on my skin]. This perhaps opens even stronger, but quickly becomes softer too. I like it better from a slight distance, which is good, because I don't have nor want that many people sniffing my skin directly. 😅

chrisk252

Like shaving with classic Italian Cella shaving soap in a small Tuscan village. Almond cherry scent with a fizzy soda vibe. As some say, a bit of Fanta in the DNA. I love almond scented shaving soap (which I learned smells like cherries), so I enjoyed this but worried it might get cloying. It definitely has a sweetness to it, but outside of hot humid days, it's a very enjoyable warm cozy scent which is fresh at the same time. Scent: 8, Longevity: 7, Overall: 8

NicoleET88

Tested on a warm day and from the cap a rich but AIRY vanilla arrived at my nose immediately, reminding me of the vanilla in Lostmarc'h Lann Ael. Except it came with something almost ticklish and bubbly.
Once sprayed I immediately smelled all of the things I like most about L de Lolita Lempicka in it's concentratee form, but without the butter-thick density that makes it ill suited for anything other than fall and winter.
Right after came the smell of root beer, freshly poured over crackling ice...except to me it was more like birchbeer, as I got a slight mintiness, dry and reminiscent of chewing gum, still fresh from it's foil wrapper and dusted with powder.
Within the next minute the smell of candy cigarettes appeared. Someone way down below mentioned it and sure enough, there it was. I know the scent well, I still occasionally buy candy cigarettes to this day, to entertain my tongue on their strange, flat sweetness and chalky texture.
All of this happened in about 5 minutes time.
I can't really explain what happened after that, but it was about an hour and a half of overly-sugared bourbon vanilla, with residual anise and a touch of cedar. No real progression, just sweet. And I don't know that I could have smell much else even if it existed because the sweetness was just so cloying. I was actually a little nauseated by it. When the sugar settled the fragrance relaxed into a vaguely vanilla bubblegum skin scent that I found "tolerable" but unimpressive. Within 4 hours total it was all but gone.

After several testings, I sprayed it directly onto a soft white shirt, hoping to take my own peculiar skin chemistry out of the equation, and I was surprised to find how fresh and uplifting it actually was. It was more complex on cloth, the evolution stretched and elongated, I could pinpoint a few of the notes that had failed to show up to the body party. It put a smile on my face and I decided I would wear it exclusively on my garments, and maybe I could get away with it in my hair too. Unfortunately, about 20 minutes after spraying, the scent started to climb up Candy Mountain again and I threw the shirt across the room in frustration.
Too sweet.
I've since noticed that when the temperature is a little cooler the sweetness is far lessened, but then it doesn't last at all. Maybe 2 hours.

To be honest...after the quirky opening act...it's kind of boring. Lacks intrigue, for me. And not to mention, it doesn't smell of almond to my nose at all, really. If I had to call it, this is essentially just vanilla and gummy cola candies.

That being said, I'm probably gonna wear it anyway.

markvel

The most beautiful almond scent eveeeer but literary disappears after 45 mins 🤯🤯
I love it so much but I'm wondering is it worth buying something so weak
I didn't get the feel that people compliant that much for sillage and longevity for this one ?!

ceeceelee

Juliusq75 described it as Vanilla Sarsaparilla and I think that is spot on. Its cool and refreshing. When it dries down on my skin I do get a floral almond root beer, creamy but not milky. Just a great blind buy for me, so happy I got the big bottle. I'm running out of room here, people! I need to stop and appreciate the beauties I have. But there are so, so, so, so many more and they're being discontinued everyday! What's a gal to do? Buy, that's what, lol.

A very strong like that's bordering on love.

danielle.crump

I keep testing this to see if I can get what everybody else is getting but, I dont. The fragrance is absolutely beautiful but, it very pale and weak. All I smell is Dolce and Gabbana pour Femme out of this.... anyone else??

anncka

This little gem had been on my radar for quite a while now. Today I was finally able to test it and I am blown away by how much I love this! Suddenly I feel like it fills a gap in my spring/summer fragrance rotation. I find it to be super easy to wear and very versatile. I am currently at the seaside for a weekend getaway and the timing couldn't be better. This scent will now forever remind me of a free, careless spring or summer day when all you have to do is soak up the sun and the sea breeze. I love, love, love it and I surely want a bottle of it in my collection.

P. S. When I sprayed it, I felt like I've smelt this before.. It was so similar to something I tested not long ago but I couldn't remember what it was.. So I came up here and immediately I saw the connection with Lira by Xerjoff. I think they smell almost exactly the same, except that Xerjoff is heavier.. Like a winter version of Mandorlo.

Jella7ine

I don't think I like this and it's making me sad. It smells like plastic and makes my throat hurt. All I smell are the base notes a few minutes in.

my bf said it smells like something from bath and body works.

Maybe it's a decent vanilla scent to have on hand? Maybe it'll be nicer when it's hot out and mixed with the outdoors and a little sweat? I dunno.

nancy.france

Wowza!

This one is pretty!
So Delicioso!

The bottle is an absolutely gorgeous Mediterranean Blue!

Blind buy perfect for me.

Juliusq75

Vanilla sasparilla all the way! This is a really fun scent, great for summer I think. It is a bit cool out I think for this to really come alive as I am only getting the vanilla root beer, but my son sniffed it it several times and said that it smelled different every time, so he was picking up different notes than I was. This leans more feminine, I have a hard time seeing it on a man, but maybe for the base notes. The downside on this is the longevity is pretty abysmal. I sprayed a lot and a couple hours apart, with oil first, and still couldn't get more than a couple hours out of it. I am glad I got the 5 oz bottle, because I will be reapplying it.

KylieBooFace

Root beer! A definite like. It is airier, cooler, and lighter than expected. Sweet, non-bitter, and the tiniest bit floral. I picture an airy root beer float with the tiniest touch of violet candy. I could see myself wearing this in the summer without it getting to be too much.

JHW1987

Love this scent so much! It's a shame it's so weak though :(

srtasleepypants

I love the Almond Oil scent...that is why I bought this one. Slightly disappointed, I was expecting something sweeter.

abilopez76

Not gonna make a long review. It’s either you’ll smell like licorice or vanilla root beer, depends on your body chemistry. Either way, it’s a beautiful gourmand scent.

smappa

A happy and a pleasant fragrance. It's like walking by a candy boutique that sells marshmallows and liquorice. Probably best worn outside working hours, like at late afternoon when the sun starts to set, in seasons spring to fall especially. Or on any occasion when you want to float on clouds made of cotton wool.

ellz

I absolutely love this. This has become my new go to fragrance. It is soft and elegant yet dare I say it? Sexy!

Upon opening i immediately am taken by the star anise and almond. I have to say I don’t smell any peach or jasmine, but the blend of the almond and ylang ylang is smooth. In The dry down I can only smell the musk + vanilla AND almond.
I smell the almond throughout and that’s why I’m obsessed with this.

I have to say I’m quite impressed with this. I sprayed this on at 6:45 am and by 4pm I could smell it on my wrist. It wasn’t strong but it was there.

From the Blu line I have to say I only enjoyed this and Fico di Amalfi. With Mandorlo being the clear winner. If you’re looking for a fresh yet rich fragrance for the spring/summer this is it!

Delosisles

Beautiful feminine fragrance. More floral than citrus for ADP. The almond and vanilla with ylang are, you might say, seductive. Playful, elegant, assured, young but very classy scent.

sonertan

Just heavenly.... 😊

Agnes81

Beautiful almond with a fruity orange-peach accord and a soft vanilla base. I don't get a lot of spice or florals. Very elegant and quite feminine on me. But it could be really nice and inviting on a man as well.

I think it can be worn at any occasion and any time of year. A soft, sweet - but not cloying - gourmand/oriental. Perfect for summer when heavier scents are too much.

bananayoshimoto

Fluffy, delectable, playful, alluring, sophisticated comfort. To simply call it vanilla or a root beer float would be to undermine its expertly crafted balance of depth and levity. The notes are blended flawlessly and none stand out as more prominent than any others. I detect no spearmint or bubblegum, only an ethereally creamy concoction that continuously lures me in for another taste. Bought blindly and loved instantly.

fleurdefi

It's a pretty scent, but it is more vanilla/ylang ylang than almond. I can smell a hint of almond, along with jasmine smoothing out the ylang ylang, but not enough for me. It almost smelled like heliotrope when I first sprayed it and that was very nice, but that faded soon after.

CdeBXL

With the House of Acqua di Parma, you know what you will get: classy, well balanced elegant unisex scents. Enough presence to make a distinguished impact but never loud nor synthetical.

The Blu Mediterraneo series is a very fitting addition to this legacy. Mediterranean scents are made the Hero of each flanker and paired to their prime breeding grounds; an olfactory AOC if you like. Names and bottles immediately take you to the sea and its coastlines and shores.

Of the whole series MdS is undoubtedly the most daring and unexpected one, making it for me *the* niche scent of the Blu line.
So, what happened upon initial spray: throwback to a vintage niche scent I have a few 10mls left of and which I guard very scrupulously: Serge Lutens' Douce Amère. Discontinued in its original formula, and lo and behold: MdS is, imo, its totally worthy and available sister (in 150mls, no less!).

Secondly, as with Douce Amère, I do not like some of the separate ingredients at all (no licorice, no anise, no frangipane, heck: no gourmands -Angel, Hypnotic Poison, Alien: not at all for me). Now, MdS must have been brewed in the same crazy cauldron as Douce Amère: mixed and stirred together, the ingredients are so yummy but not cloying, boozy but not heady, bitter but not biting, redolent but not medicinal.

An absolute Love.

perfumesniffer

I think because the bottle is blue I never imagined Mandorlo to smell the way it does and it took me years and years to even try it. Mandorlo smells like a delicate vanilla-almond gourmand. It's very light and fleeting. Imagine Dior Hypnotic Poison if it were less synthetic and far (far) lighter. I really like it, however, I need a better longevity and sillage so when I'm in this mood I go for Profumum Roma Dolce Acqua (almonds on steroids) and/or Reminiscence Dragee (a lighter milky almond vanilla). For the record, I do not smell licorice/star anise at all. Also, if you end up loving this scent, and need better sillage, you could always buy the 5 fl oz giant bottle and apply it lavishly.

lorna.1

I love this scent. I loved it right away, it is a very unisex fragrance and I believe anyone of any age could love it.
For me, this is a great gourmand. It is a little sweet because of the vanilla and the touch of anise that some people identify as a root beer vibe. I personally like the sweetness and this is not predominant.

The big star for me is the almond, it is so nutty and creamy. It's a Frangipane tart with a peach, and that beautiful ylang-ylang sits there with it like a smiling happy friend. The musk makes it seem to last forever and you will notice how good you smell over the day. I asked myself a few times, who smells so good.... Aah, that's me!

Seasonally It's like a transitional fragrance.
I will start wearing it around the end of March when it gets a little warmer, leaving the Winter behind while cosy and warm still all the while adding soft flowers and fruit full of promise. I also love it in Autumn, the floral notes are soft and so it's like a farewell to Summer and sweet, nutty cake greeting to slightly cooler months.

Palmer Eldritch

Wondering why most people are comparing this to mint toothpaste, cough syrup or beer float?
It's that star anise note! A common ingredient in the Mediterranean for producing ''Ouzo'' and ''Raki''. Greek & Turkish alcoholic drinks that also share the ''mentholated'' character with 'Mandorlo di Sicilia'.

No joke, the opening in this is VERY boozy, I'm sniffing sweet raki with a slice of citrus fruit on the side.
As it dries down the cold vanilla & raw, powdery almonds intensify, but that anise note never fully disappears. Even hours later!
Luckily for me I love boozy scents :) This reminds me of cool summer days & nights on the beachside.
Only downside to this is the performance sucks for the price, hence the like not love.

tl;dr This is a boozy fragrance. Not a root beer float -> It's Ouzo / Raki. Unisex. Buy if you love those drinks!

Kloppo

Jesus christ, I dont know what people are smelling but i agree with @ingeneuxo here.
100% cherry flavoured cough syrup, smells awful all the way through.
