Lilac Path by Aerin Lauder is a Floral fragrance for women. Lilac Path was launched in 2013.

Aerin Lauder, Estee Lauder’s granddaughter, founded her lifestyle brand in 2011 and has since been popular for her cosmetics, home items, jewelry and purses. The house is expanding their offer to include perfumes and is launching five of them in 2013. - Gardenia Rattan, Amber Musk, Lilac Path, Ikat Jasmine, and Evening Rose will launch in November. The creator wanted to provide a scent for each mood and time of year.

All fragrances were developed with assistance by Firmenich perfumers. The collection was inspired by fabrics that Aerin uses in her creations. Even the outer boxes feature fabric designs from Lauder’s line. Each bottle is crowned with a differently colored stone that incorporates the color of one of the ingredients in the perfume — green for Gardenia Rattan, pale brown for Amber Musk, pink for Lilac Path, white for Ikat Jasmine and purple for Evening Rose.

Inspiration behind Lilac Path is the lilac bush which blooms at her late grandmother Estée Lauder’s summer cottage. The perfume blooms with galbanum, creamy jasmine lactones, angelica seed oil and orange flower. The carton is decorated with design, “Marila,” which combines two unique designs to create a signature batik.

The fragrances arrive on the market in November 2013 and will be available for purchas as 50 ml eau de parfum spray.

My favorite from Aerin, I wish I could roll around in this

Norie

- On skin and with relative speed, this dries down into a soapy, spicy floral. Not my interest at all and a scrubber.
- On clothes, it still does not have decent longevity, but it remains more of the true lilac floral path. It's faint but beautiful. I like that it's faint because a too intense scent and sillage would be a headache on a hot Spring or Summer day.

I can see wearing this on a spring day or summer night, but I'm not sure that I would full-size this.

A quick review. Opens with a natural, vivid lilac supported by an undercurrent of creamy jasmine. As time goes by, the lilac wanes and what's left is very similar to Van Cleef & Arpels Gardenia Petale, lots of jasmine. Not bad but I wish lilac would stick around for a bit longer. It smells like the real flower. Overall a very nice floral perfume.

Absolutely stunning! Big love 💝 for me. I can see why this is one of her best sellers. I have been searching and searching and searching for the perfect lilac soliflore perfume for decades. Finally, finally it is here in my hand. I have 3 samples of this beauty but I will buy a full bottle. I almost pulled the trigger on her Rose de Grasse Rouge which is a perfect red rose soliflore but I held back because I wanted to try Lilac Path first. I have such a large collection that I want to keepy full bottle purchases down. Lilac Path is something I need more than another rose perfume as beautiful as it is.

Lilac Path is sooooo much better than many of the lilac perfumes above and I have tried many of them. Most of them are either to green or to violet or to white floral or to powdery or to screechy. As pretty as some of them were they were they were not right. Lilac Path is the perfect lilac soliflore. If you are looking for lilac, true lilac, not lilac soap, not a bouquet with touches of lilac but pure lilac in its soft elegant glory look no further. Lilac Path is the one. FULL BOTTLE WORTHY!

raiza1990

This is beautiful! I get a very natural lilac, with a bit of powder and a white floral background. It smells romantic, calming and very feminine. It has a vintage cosmetics vibe. At the same time, it makes me think of cottage core. It’s just really pretty and dreamy. Lovely scent!

nm999

Lilac Path is spring in a bottle! The scent starts off strong with a burst of sweet lilac, then settles into a jasmine scent. The use of jasmine takes a way from the lilac note smelling to cleaning product like. Lilac Path is so pretty and creamy, and very realistic truly smell likes a bouquet of flowers.

This really is a beautiful, linear lilac. Really beautiful, light, and fresh. Sadly, it only lasted 1 hr w close to moderate sillage, and then I could only smell it with my nose to my wrist. After 3 hrs, it was completely gone. Doesn't last long enough to justify the price for me.

EmmaMartha

I am fortunate to have a lilac bush in our garden, it’s huge and at just the right time of year the smell is amazing.

I bought this hoping it would capture that smell year round and it doesn’t disappoint. I love this perfume so much. I plan to purchase another big bottle soon as I’m mostly through my first. It’s definitely a daytime scent but in summer especially I’ve found myself popping on a spritz before bed.

Hedabo

Aerin Lilac Path is a beautiful fragrance.
First spray envelops you in a cloud of stunning lilac. I am not disappointed with this perfume at all. It is linear and not complex but if you love the smell of lilac this is for you. A delightful spring fragrance.

rayofthesun88

Smells like sunscreen with a *hint* of lilac.

Binst145

I love lilacs, I love white florals and I really do love this scent. It is my 2nd Aerin fragrance, and I do believe Aerin does florals well. This is fairly close to true lilac smell, in the dry-down it has a sunkissed beachy quality to it and it smells like fresh laundry drying in the sun and expensive bodylotion. I feel it is quite uplifting, a true floral that keeps one feeling fresh and clean, longevity is moderate, sillage as well. I believe it is sophisticated without being too mature, it is safe as an office fragrance.

dismalharmony

Near-photorealistic lilac, not as full-bodied as the real deal. Lasts for all of an hour. Why oh why must something so beautiful be so ephemeral?

HeatherMuffin

Tested this one out yesterday, and right away I loved it, I almost bought it. They did not offer a sample only tester at the store. I doused my skin and jacket woth it and smelled a beautiful southern sidewalk lined with lilac bushes all the way home. But this morning, my jacket smells mostly of amber and powder, only a faint linger of lilac or flowers. This warm amber smell really gives me a headache so I won’t be buying. But wow those first 5 hours were fabulous!! I wish Diptyque would make a lilac EDT , I know it would be perfect, they do the florals right and true, slightly green the way I like. This smells more similar to Do Son than it does to En Passant, regardless of the notes >> to me.

Edit: I found a lilac i like a lot , En Passant and bought it right away, nothing powdery about it! I wish the wheat note in it was less, but still had to have it because it’s made by my favorite perfumer! Now I’m reconsidering trying lilac path again… I’ll give it another spray on my skin when I have the chance.

Update: I bought lilac path body cream because I couldn’t get Lilac Path off my mind, and it is gorgeous! Now I’m reconsidering buying the perfume also! It’s so round and smooth, slightly sweet. I tried a few other lilacs that don’t do it for me: sample 2ml of A lilac A Day by Vilhelm-way too green like cut grass, and now today my small 10ml bottle of Jacques fath Lila’s exquis arrived and it’s also too sharp green for me, but not nearly as much as the Vilhelm. I’m keeping Lila’s Ex. the bottle is gorgeous. I also tried Lilac Love 2ml sample, and although it’s a beautiful fragrance, it has a grandpa-style powder scent that is not for me.

So far En Passant and Lilac Path are the best 2 lilacs I’ve tried. I have Ineke After my own heart on its way, and some day I want to try the Rochester lilac, but then I probably need to give up 😜
(Ineke arrived and it’s a really nice fresh clothes or fresh linen lilac scent, really creamy and round but not so lilac to me. In my collection it’s grouped with Ofresia, as a fresh clothes florals , not with my true florals ).

nanaa_from_ghana

I added this one to my collection today and all I can say is wow! Lilacs always remind me of when I was much younger, my sister and I would always go and play at our next door neighbors house and they had these GIGANTIC lilac bushes on the side of their house. I loved smelling and touching them every time we went to play in their backyard.

This fragrance is absolutely stunning. I haven’t smelled many other lilac fragrances but I can already tell that if you’re looking for a straight up, non complicated, beautiful, light, airy, and fresh lilac, look no further than this. The main notes I get are lilac and honeysuckle. I also get something green in the background (maybe the galbanum? or the Angelica?).

My issue with a lot of Aerin’s fragrances is that they really do not project and are okay on longevity. The bottle I got has turned a nice, golden color, so I’m sure the performance is even better than what I expected. This one has a moderate projection and the longevity is great so far. It’s so easy to wear and I feel will be a perfect scent for the spring / summer.

I can’t stop sniffing myself and the scent bubble that this creates is just so gorgeous. Aerin did an amazing job with this one!

saho93

Oh my, this smells exactly like lilac blooms in May. Aerin fragrance tends to have poor longevity, but this one lasts fairly long. If you want more complex scent, then this isn’t for you. But if you want a non-complex lovely lilac, this is fantastic.

Update: 06/20/2023 this perfume is so beautiful all year round. One of my favorite flower bloom aromas is lilac, and this just brings so much joy, kinda makes me think of impressionist paintings with gorgeous light colors.

AoiUsagi

This is the most realistic lilac scent I've tried yet. Granted, I haven't tried all that many as lilac is something I prefer in a bouquet rather than in a perfume, but still. This is perfect, pure, and beautiful. I have no desire to smell like this, but I might just keep my sample as aromatherapy, it's like spring in a bottle. If you like lilac, get this.

Cynthia30

Pro tip: Mix this with a bit of Vicks vaporub to create FM Carnal Flower. 1+1≠2 here, it equals 4 as the mixed concoction has more prominent animalics and a more waxy, coconutty feel.

pansylady

beautiful melange of sun-dappled blue, white, and yellow flowers- this is a richly opulent lilac, reminiscent of Guerlain's Angelique Lilas- potency is impressive, remaining present in my aural space for 6 hours so far, with no signs of letting up, and also dries down nicely to a soft, soapy lilac skin scent. Thumbs up!

christinebyh

Lilacs and cherry blossoms are my favourite floral notes as they remind me of my childhood - Lilac Path has been on my list for a while and I finally had a chance to test this in store, along with some other Aerins.

I really, really wanted to like Lilac Path. It's a very well blended fragrance as none of the individual notes really stand out, but this is also why I'm disappointed by the fragrance. The lilac is there, but it's not the star of the show. The projection is mild and longevity poor. It's a pretty fragrance with white/purple florals, but it doesn't really pack a lilac punch. I really can't rate this highly as I feel like it should perform better for this price.

On a side note, my favourite out of the Aerin range was Tangier Vanille.

shimatsukki

smells just like the blueblossoms on my way to school in the spring. if i'm too heavy handed with the spritz, it can get nauseating real quick. it lasts incredibly long on my skin, and projection is fairly strong.

Nynon

This one brings me back to my childhood! We had pink, white and purple lilacs in our backyard, and this scent just brings me back to when I was little. Just like walking in a street full of lilacs in bloom after the rain. I absolutely love it, Lilac Path will definitely be in high rotation.

JennyNoBull

I want to like every Aerin Lauder fragrance but something in the DNA of all of them makes me claustrophobic and unable to breathe. Lilacs are a favourite of mine, but instead of being fresh and dewy, they are hot and fuzzy. It's like wearing a wool sweater in August. No, Merci. If you want a fresh, clean lilac scent try En Passant by Frederic Malle. 2/10 but only because of how it smells in the bottle.

EmmaMartha

I love this perfume. We have a beautiful Lilac bush in our garden and this perfume is the first I've found that smells just like the bush. It smells floral and fresh without being overly sweet.

Cynthia30

White florals are back in fashion with a lot of new releases prominently featuring tuberose, gardenia, even magnolia.

Out of the Aerin line, this is very strong, so good value for money. It's also part of their basic range, compared to the higher prices of say, for example, Rose de Grasse or Tuberose le Jour. Then they have an even more expensive gold bottle range.

I love the smell very much. It's very versatile, inoffensive and can be layered with many other perfumes or notes. I think you can layer with coconut, ( think LFDG Coco du Yemen), greens ( think CH Virgin Mint or Miller Harris Found at Dusk) or coffee. ( Kerosene follow).

When I sprayed it, it smelled like a straight forward lilies smell. The second time, I got about 50% lilies, and 50% jasmine and orange. However, it's still very strongly lilies/ lilac. The other notes are included just to take the edge off. If I compare with ScentAustraliahome Starlight Lily, ( that's a very very strong pure lily note)- this is not it. So this is lilies with some softness and dimension and complexity. It's really very beautifully done, a masterpiece.

The galbanum or angelica elevate this perfume to superluxe. I don't really know what they are supposed to smell like, but it's herby like a bougie toothpaste or Aesop products. Sort of minty with a bit of aniseed.

I see someone wearing a white dress with a big white hat, or alternatively, a very expensive LBD with diamonds. Completely addictive!

MagdalenaM07

I just received this so this is a first impression and not a proper review.

So far, I'm picking up much more orange blossom and angelica than lilac- which is kind of disappointing as I'm very picky about orange blossom (more often than not it leaves me nauseous or with a headache). The orange blossom here is very light and smells exactly like the cold ma zhar (orange blossom water) used in many Moroccan baked goods. The only thing I could picture when I sprayed it is my mother baking and discussing measurements with my aunt over the phone. A great memory, but not exactly the one I wanted this fragrance to invoke.

Cherry_Darling

Really getting into my spring florals, lilac is just the purple floral that floats my boat most. It reminds me of springs of my childhood. This one has lots of honeyed jasmine too but the earthiness of the angelica grounds it and takes off the indolic edge. Honeysuckle is another one I love although hard to pick it out here at this stage anyway. Beautiful realistic fresh spring florals, dewy, green, a little earthy. Love!

There is nothing I love more than walking by lilac trees. There's one in my front yard, and I love to sit in front of it in the spring reading a book. Lilac is my favourite floral scent, and this perfume is exactly that! This is pure lilac, not just the flower, but the stems as well. I enjoy this because it is not just fresh floral, but there is a green creaminess, which I think helps the lasing power. This is angelic and magical, it makes me feel like a fairy!

BebeLaBeaux

This is stunning!!! I am a big lilac fan and have struggled to find a perfume that smells like this, but this perfume is spot on! Beautiful opening of fresh lilacs, and it settles down to this beautiful flower filled lilac heaven! I blind bought this and was not disappointed!! If you love lilacs, you will LOVE this!

audioburst

This is how I ascertained galbanum is what gives me headaches. This is that one new ZARA Jo Malone x Bath and Body Works' Moonlit Path, it's very much what you would think it smells like from the notes. The jasmine is pretty prominent once you think about it but not enough to take over the musky florals.

SweetMary

Aerin Lilac Path. I got this in a discovery set. To add a little extra fun, I didn't check the name of each sample before trying it on. When trying on this one, my first thought was "wow, this smells exactly like lilacs!" So no surprise there when I checked the bottle for a name :-) And though I love, love, looove the smell of lilacs in springtime, outside in nature, I simply can't hack it on my skin. Perhaps if it was lighter, more discrete. But basically the same thing happens when wearing this fragrance as what happens every spring when I over-eagerly take lilacs inside because they are so pretty and smell so heavenly. It doesn't take long before the smell is overwhelming, and the headaches equally so, and I have to ban them from being indoors.

So, to my great disappointment I have to say that though this is a wonderful fragrance, I simply can not wear this.

RachelSeun

The opening of Lilac Path reminds me of my childhood years, walking home from school during the spring season while smelling and plucking the freshly bloomed flowers on my way home. The opening is quite intense with the lilac note but it does settle down to a more powdery dry down with that noticeable Aerin DNA laced within. It is a little too quiet and fleeting on my skin.

petcake

My childhood home had lilac bushes in the backyard, and I have such a fondness for that scent. It makes me happy. I heard a review that raved about Lilac Path as a lovely photorealistic scent, so I ordered the Aerin discovery set as soon as it was in stock at Sephora.

I can attest: this really is a beautiful (if potent) natural lilac scent! It radiates gorgeously on my skin. However-- I think straight florals are difficult for me to pull off at this point in my life! I look forward to layering with it in the spring months, but I won't be wearing on its own for now.

The name Lilac Path is extremely accurate; if that is the vibe you're going for, I highly recommend!

EvasFragrances

I adore the smell of lilacs and spent quite a bit of time looking for a more realistic lilac fragrance - if you're looking for that too, try this. On my skin this reminds me 100% of the lilacs that I so love.

I've only ever worn this in spring and the lasting power isn't the best on me (but my skin loves eating perfume, so it might be different for you). Definitely worth trying out for yourself in my opinion.

sasandfat

Lovely, fresh, clean and bright. Sadly very fleeting; needs to be topped off every one to two hours.

Bedhead

Oh my. My, my, my, this is lovely! Lilac Path goes on as a not-unpleasant floral. Just a nice floral with heady lilac tones. But the drydown!! It's magnificent. Think of a bouquet of lilacs mixed with the smell of a summer beach.... fresh air, seascape, and Coppertone all whiffed through the veil of a dazzling bouquet. That's Lilac Path.

If you like florals, try this at Nordstrom. You'll like it, but you may not love it. Wait 30 minutes. You will adore it. This scent is an absolute work of art. Light and beautifully layered.

Meggybelle

I got this for Christmas from my husband and it is exquisite! It is one of the more expensive perfumes in my collection and in my opinion it's well worth the price. It lasts 8+ hours on me and people can smell it. Even my dad complimented me and he isn't a fragrance person at all. It smells like something a queen or Princess would wear. It makes me think of fairies dancing. It smells sweeter than some other lilac scents and this one is my favorite. The bottle is also very pretty. I think this could be a signature scent for sure. It is so lovely!

tacomighty6

It can differ depending on a person’s body chemistry and tastes. I love floral perfumes and a lot of Aerin Lauder’s fragrances. However, I don’t care for Lilac Path as a perfume. While it does indeed smell like fresh lilacs (which I enjoy), it irritates me to smell as a scent on my skin. Makes me feel like an old lady or like I’m sniffing floral soap/bathroom potpourri. I prefer the Gardenia Rattan or Ikat Jasmine fragrances by Aerin Lauder because I feel they are more sophisticated. Evening Rose is, also, a great option if you are looking for a more classic floral perfume.

Minimijn

This is such a beautiful true lilac! It opens really strong with the freshest blooming lilac scent, and dries down a bit more green and powdery. My skin chemistry LOVES this formula, one spray in the morning and I can still smell it if I press my nose into my wrist late into the evening, by then it’s a lot softer but still recognisable as lilac. I can definitely see this as a signature scent like others have said, and it really seems like a people pleaser as even my mum who hates most perfumes liked this on me (other than the opening, she found that too strong). It’s light enough after that not to be a bother but the sillage is a nice arm length for quite some time, more when I gesture with my hands. Like you’re walking in a cloud, but a soft, dewy one. Definitely a new favourite!

juliabee

As the name suggests, wearing this scent is like taking a perpetual stroll down a sun-dappled, lilac hedged pebble lane. It's delicate, graceful, and feminine, reminiscent of a more romantic, simpler time. I can't imagine a perfume that better represents the fresh hope and happiness of spring. Just beautiful!

ckorp8

Soft floral scent which everyone seems to be saying that it’s close to the real lilac followed by blended scents which jasmine took the leading role, ended in a powdery greenish jasmine. Kinda like it’s crushed with the leaves and all. Sorta like it.
La Tulipe is not similar. I tried side by side comparison and tulip is a sharper scent that is not similar at all BUT they can be layered nicely.

renashepet

This is a beautiful, realistic lilac scent - just what I was looking for for a while and was super happy when I blind bought it a while ago (I've been pretty lucky with blind buys, but this was one of my favorite blind buys).

It smells like spring to me, everything starting to come alive after the cold winter, the birds start chirping outside and the lilac trees start blooming and that aroma in the air just brings me so much joy. I truly love this and if I had to cut down my collection to only 10 (lets be real, 20) perfumes this would always have a spot.

Miss.Tara

To me this is soft powdery floral. It seems delicate and simple. This is one of those scents I could see anyone between the ages of 8 to 80 wearing. It could be a signature scent because of its timelessness.

NDStars

First blast of a lilac bomb, syrupy sweet, purple, lush, concentrated, one-note. After a minute, I get a vague sweet almond sometimes but it has to really fight to make it through this dense lilac fog. Nothing more to say really. If you want to smell like lilacs and nothing else then this is for you. They charge HOW much for this?? Projection is pretty strong, beyond arms length. Feminine and best for cool weather. I wouldn't want to be standing next to someone wearing this in the heat of summer.

6+ hours later: The scent has stayed straight on the lilac note and turned a bit soapy too. Still there when I press my nose into my skin.

LionsTigersBearsOhMy

I love the smell of lilacs, so with great anticipation I decided on this one for "Blind Buy Spring 2021." To my delight, it is magical. Sweet lilacs burst through the opening, followed by delicious jasmine. I love jasmine so I have no problem with the role it takes in this perfume.
The florals are powerful, yet somehow soft and radiant. I've read complaints about poor sillage, but I think the delicate approach taken here is appropriate. Any stronger and it would likely be headache-inducing for some.
Another victory for the AERIN brand.

taiga_flora

Such a beautiful spring scent. I just received my tester and I might go forward and buy the whole bottle. The perfume starts as a fresh natural lilac upon first application, then drys down to the sweet jasmine. I was a bit disappointed that the lilac didn't stay for as long as I would hope, it's almost as if the lilac introduces you to the jasmine–the guest that is there to stay once the lilac dissipates. But I do love jasmine so it worked out well for me. Especially with the nice longevity this Aerin has, its like dewey flowers during the day and maybe a bit more powdery at dusk. The sillage is pretty moderate, not too overpowering. I'm also testing out Frederic Malle's En Passant which is more green lilac, while this is a bit more romantic and feminine.

fawneyed_sita

first impressions: I find the jasmine competes with the lilac here for dominance. I do get a strong lilac notes with its honey sweet nuances here. I'm guessing that lilac notes are synthetic since every lilac perfume I've tried smells totally different, it just never smells quite natural. The composition is too simple for me, personally, to justify the price. I think I just always have unfortunate associations between sweet lilac scents and air fresheners and baby products...I'm not in love with it, there's something stuffy to me about the sweetness. I prefer Lanvin Eclat d'Arpege's fresh and aquatic take on lilac to this. But if you do love a sweet floral lilac, this one could be for you

Diana1983

I've just blind bought this perfume as I wanted a fresh floral to diversify my collection. I'm a bit disappointed. Not with the smell, its beautiful and pure and extremely delicate but too delicate for my liking. If you are after a very subtle minimal floral fragrance that you can only smell up close this is a great choice but if you like powerful florals this is not for you. I really want to try the others by Aerin as it seems to be such a classic collection but was disappointed with the lack of strength to the point where I feel like I've wasted £100.

VelvetTrance

Gorgeous! Admittedly I am obsessed with lilac and this smells like paradise to me. It's the best lilac I have found but I hasten to add for a mere fraction of the price Pacifica's French Lilac is a VERY close second. Lilac Path smells just a tiny little bit more delicate and refined. If Lilac Path is a 10/10 (and I say it is) then French Lilac is a 9.75.

Edit to add: This really is sublime. Like, angels in heaven sublime. The more I live with it the more I can't live without it.

RoseSoul

Everything I hoped for and even more than that!

I didn't expect to be surprised by Aerin's interpretation of lilac flower because I own Yves Rocher's Pur Desir de Lilas and I thought it would smell the same. For me this is not valid, maybe only in the first minutes of application. The major difference is the presence of jasmine in Lilac Path, an arrangement that prevents this lilac from remaining evergreen, watery and raw.

I admit, it doesn't projects much after about an hour, but it's absolutely adorable and I want it for spring. I love lilac in real life and perfumes, and this interpretation is excellent! Now I also want to find the Pacifica creation (because Lilac Patch is quite expensive and not available in shops here), although it is harder in my country to have a chance like this.

Thanks for the opportunity, SailorV 💐 !

Wwoman

This is highly realistic lilac with a fresh green note to make it interesting. Literally smells like you are inhaling the scent of lilac flowers after a rainstorm. Better strength and projection than many of the Aerins. Just a bit of powder, discernable only by fanatical powder haters like myself. If you like the smell of real lilac flowers, this could be a safe blind buy got you.

Savasana

Lilac Path opens with a burst of lush white florals laced with bright, verdant accents compliments of angelica and galbanum. This is such a lovely scent, demure and elegant ... a scent I can picture worn by anyone young at heart.

I certainly get a beautiful dose of jasmine and honeysuckle here but, interestingly enough, what I don't get much of from Lilac Path at least not in the first 3 or so hours of wearing is the lilac. Normally, I don't enjoy honeysuckle dominant perfumes but the way it comes across here is really lovely.

Creamy lilac finally wakes up on my skin somewhere 3 hours into the wearing and remains with me for another 3 or so hours ... This is the epitome of a white floral that smells fresh, creamy and happy to me.

MUST8936

It is elegant and noble.

TaraRachelle

Excellent lilac scent. My grandmother had loads of lilac bushes along the edge of their ravine. Every day during the short time they were blooming, we would go out together and smell the lilacs and cut a few for her house and mine. So, a true lilac scent definitely holds nostalgia for me.

I stumbled upon this one after liking several other Aerin perfumes, and this became a favorite as well. It's the best and most realistic lilac perfume I've found. It isn't cheap or fake smelling at all, and while it might be "simpler" in terms of notes, I personally appreciate that it's all lilac-- you smell it, and you can instantaneously identify that scent. It smells like springtime and grandma (in a good way!) to me.

lombredansleau

Amplified lilac, fresh white flowers, a hint of honeysuckle, this is Spring in a bottle, a flowerbomb, beautifully made, if you love lilac, this is the one to get. Sillage 10/10, longevity 8/10.
Pacifica French lilac is similar but cannot compare with the naturalistic harmony of Aerin’s creation.

Erinhasaproblem

There is no messing around here. This is a straight up floral, and it’s beautiful! Like a freshly cut bouquet. It makes me think of summer weddings. Love.

nitschevo

Yes, this is so so pretty and well done. I got a huge bag full of samples from my mum and am working my way through and this as well as the Honeysuckle, Gardenia and Rose scent are among them.

This is such a beautiful lilac scent. Not suffocating, not too sweet just right. Wearing it feels like sitting in the middle of some lilac bushes in full bloom. I like the green elements, that to me, ground the scent and beware it from becoming too sweet. It's also more realistic this way because I imagine smelling the earth and stems and all, too.

Beautiful, especially for Spring with good longevity. Also beautiful bottles and may I add that I like the generous sample size. It allows for a proper test ride, thumbs up!

Edit: Wearing it for two days in a row now and for those of you who are in search of an more affordable option, in the same vein - Avon Today. No kidding. It reminds me a lot - while Tuberose and Jasmine are the main players in that one, it is very close and might deliver the same feel. I also noticed in some reviews here, that some don't detect the lilac as much and especially the dry down is more Jasmine centered. So, could be :)

Unfurling Blossoms

THIS. IS. STUNNING! Photorrealistic floral for those of you who are purists and don't like anything artificial getting in the way of your re-experiencing of a real life flower.

Brava!

Mbaranja

Lilacs in the rain! I am a lilac enthusiast and this is the best lilac perfume yet! My only issue is that it wears off quite fast.

SailorV

Lilac is such an underused note in perfumery, and it often doesn‘t smell as good in fragrances as it does in reality. Lilac Path is very pretty, but to my nose it doesn‘t smell as photorealistic as some other reviewers suggest, it doesn‘t quite capture the honey-like nectar sweetness of real lilac flowers.
The opening is a bit sharp and green, it reminded me of lily of the valley and hyacinth perfumes at first, which I generally don‘t like. But luckily, the drydown comes soon and is lovely. The official notes say this contains „creamy jasmine lactones“ and this is exactly how the jasmine smells in this, very creamy and milky, it softens and sweetens the scent so it gets closer to the feeling of walking by a lilac bush on a warm spring day. It‘s just a little fresher and cleaner smelling overall.

This is much better than the discontinued Pur Desir de Lilas by Yves Rocher, which I once owned years ago and gave away quickly because I found it kind of brash and unrefined. In this case you can really smell the higher price. This one lasts all day on me, but doesn‘t overwhelm.
I personally prefer lilac in a blend with other notes, for example in Zoologist Hummingbird and Tocca Giuletta, but Lilac Path is a good choice for a lilac soliflore.

bajasen1

I blind bought this after reading reviews in here, because I really, really love the smell of the lilac flowers in our garden, and this does really smell like the real stuff! It's nothing synthetic about it, and I was a little bit afraid it would smell like a grandma-perfume, but it doesnt. It's fresh and not powdery. I'm just wondering when and how I should wear it, it must definitely be in summer, but I feel a little bit like a walking lilac-bush when I wear it, so maybe only one spray/a little hint of perfume..?

Vickalicious

I really enjoy this fragrance quite a bit. This is a beautiful light floral scent that is perfect for the Spring/Summer months. Upon the initial spray I definitely get the lilac. But then about 30 minutes in I get the honeysuckle and jasmine. This fragrance actually has quite a bit of honeysuckle to it (at least to my nose). Lilac path is a very light, fresh floral, and is a pretty feminine scent. This lasts on me for about 5 hours.

churinl

I really like this! Very soft and feminine for spring. At first it is all lilac, and when I smell my wrist, it has more than a passing resemblance to bathroom spray. However, that is only in the beginning and it doesn't smell that way as it wafts about. After a while it mellows down to a light spring bouquet, with the lilac present, but supported by the other notes. I get quite a bit of clean jasmine. As with all Aerin scents, the longevity isn't the greatest, but I get a good 3-4 hours, with mild to moderate sillage. This is from the rollerball. I am not sure I am willing to dish out the money for a FB, but if I received it as a gift, I'd be happy!

Sabretoothkitten

So pretty. I want this for spring, it's a cloud of lilac, light greens and bright air.

SmellyLauren

My favourite scent has forever been and forever will be lilacs. My favourite time of year is when the lilacs bloom and I enjoy it most on warm evenings. I’ve been in search of a perfect lilac fragrance but I didn’t want one that was a one note lilac as I imagined it would be too soapy and not interesting enough. I gave Gucci Guilty a try but to me the lilac was only present and fresh in opening and dried down to a sad, strange thing. I was recommended this one and I have to say that I absolutely love it, but it’s not quite there. I love this because it’s lilac, but it’s not a powdery, soapy lilac. It’s a bright, sweeter, juicier lilac that is just pleasant to experience. I love that the other notes play a supporting role to its main attraction and lift it up to be a very wearable, younger, brighter fragrance. The one thing I am missing though is an earthy quality. I feel that an ozone, maybe wood, maybe solar addition would really add depth and pull everything together into a realistic, yet interesting fragrance that could hold its own amoungst it’s peers. I could be way off, but until I find something like that, I will enjoy this little treasure and dream of spring.

cedar_lea

This is lilac. It is blatantly floral in the besy way. Soft and pretty with pleanty of realistic nuances. If I try I do get moments that ate clearly honeysuckle or jasmine, but its neber am amorphous floral bouquet smell, and that is what i need out of my flower smells.

Well done

Plp

Congratulations, you have managed to make lilac boring.
The lilac in here is sweet, dried and powdered. Very heavy. I imagine old lady like Madeleine Albright wearing this. Such a shame.

I mean, if I did not love lilac so much, I would not consider this a bad scent, just one moderately heavy, moderately sweet, moderately powdery and kind of conservative, so if you are looking for something like this, Lilac Path might be it.

petrickdavid

Smells exactly like the lilac bush. But not my favorite.

cufberte.daniem

Absolutely stunning, may call this my biggest love of the range - and there's a few loves. It doesn't last that long (on the winter evening I sprayed it on the back of my hand), but the 5 hours it stay were glorious. Photorealistic lilac. Perfection!

tinkerbelllx

I’ve never been a big fan of certain floral scents like Rose or Lilac. But in the past year, I have found myself stepping out of my comfort zone and giving these particular scents a chance ( I’m more of a Jasmine fan). After making a “Very EXPENSIVE” purchase of Aerin Lauder’s: Rose De Grasse, I was hooked!! And decided to move forward and also buy: Aerin’s - Lilac Path. I must admit this is a true gem. It’s a fresh soft lilac scent.

I’m very impressed and happy to own this perfume. Thank you Aerin for keeping things “uncomplicated” with this formula.

Alisaaa131

I purchased the rollerball last summer because it reminded me of the lilac tree we used to have in the backyard.
Growing up I LOVED the smell of lilacs, when the wind would blow I could get a faint sniff of lilacs through my window.
I'm not sure if it's the rollerball or the perfume itself, but it would only stay for maybe an hour or two and then disappear into barely-there floral scent.
I recommend it if you don't mind reapplying for a realistic lilac scent, there's nothing synthetic about this fragrance.

omG! Another winner! Normally I don't like this overpriced
underwhelming line with ONE exception and that is Evening
Rose - due to mY nouveau fondness of OUD and of course
the romance & femininity of Rose triumphs all flowers - well
now! I am now finally trying Lilac Path and I must say that I
like Lilac Path BETTER! Whatta surprise WAY better, in fact
Lilac Path is THE honeysuckle perfume I have been looking
for all mY life, now here it is! I did try Aerin's Mediterranean
Honeysuckle and guess what? THAT AIN'T IT! This is!! M!!!

Wore out today just doing errands. Pretty but unremarkable,
unobtrusive even to the point of being unnoticeable, with all
of this being said (and it’s a warm sunny day) oh so lovely :)

Skayalily

Lilac Path tried to supplant my dearly loved Alfred Sung Sha (also a gorgeous lilac). And when I challenge test them, one on each arm; it's absolutely no contest that Aerin comes across as more "natural." And I will begrudgingly admit that Lilac Path starts out much more beautiful to me.
But perfumes are a whole package. And while the opening burst of Lilac Path is swooningly divine, the scent opens with its high note; and steadily loses strength and "magic" and even the lilac-ness; to become a very lovely light green floral. A lovely light green floral with low staying power ultimately doesn't warrant the price tag of Aerin for me.

chinook

I got a bottle of Lilac Path from the very generous Plrowden! Thank you again for sharing such lovely perfumes!
Now about the scent itself...It's just like walking down a road with fragrant flowers growing on the side. The sun shines bright, and honey bees are lost in the flowers. I don't know what real lilac smells like, but i can smell the jasmine in the bunch. It's an uncomplicated flower bouquet, a perfume that doesn't try to shapeshift into many other things. At the same time it's elegant and nice. It's not too much if you wear it to run errands or do some house chores, and not too casual for night gown occasions. For me, i think it's perfect for days where you are stuck indoors and you long to be out and about. It smells just like flowers in the sun.
P.s. The cap is so pretty!

Lilac&gooseberries

This scent is gorgeous. Grown up, too grown up for a college girl, but certainly not elderly. Sophisticated yet simple. I'm 30, and I wanted a scent to wear around the house as I raise my young children; a scent they could catch one day and be reminded of their mother. Something soft and comforting, sweet but not overly so. Something my daughter smells when she comes up to me while I sit at my vanity, with my journal open and a vase of flowers being kissed by sunlight. This is the smell of our hug, the smell as I brush through her beautiful hair with my fingers and listen to her dreams. This is exactly how I want to be remembered--as pure, gentle and genuine as this lilac. I'm seriously in love.

ss_summer

Wow, just wow. I've always loved the smell of lilacs, but apart from buying essential oils of it I haven't found many fragrances over the years that do a pure and authentic lilac scent (or don't ruin it by combining with other scents that interfere with it). I stumbled on this purely out of boredom at Sephora and had to have it. It is the best lilac scent I've found so far and wear it when I want to be reminded of spring and smelling the lilacs that never stay around long enough. Luckily I don't smell any of the other notes listed, just the lilac. So if you're a big fan of the lilac flower like I am, I don't think you'll be disappointed trying this fragrance!

Domina1

I think this perfume smells even better that En Passant. So light, so feminine, so simple and elegant. Love it.

kielo

Pretty and refreshing floral perfume without any off notes. Reminds me of Jo Malone Orange Blossom.

Update: I love this perfume. I have used half of the bottle in just a few months. This is such a pretty floral lilac perfume. High quality, relaxing and long lasting.

Turtledove

So pretty! Really just smells like being outside on a warm spring day, no "floral perfume notes", just sweet airy flowers. It's not just lilac, I actually get a lot of honeysuckle from this as well.

I disagree that it's a match for Pacifica French Lilac. Pacifica's has a powdery/soapy vanilla thing that's a bit off, it doesn't feel quite as natural. This one is definitely one of the most true-to-life flowery fragrances I've tried, the natural springiness reminds me of Jo Malone Orange Blossom.

Black_Swan

Definitely a true lilac scent - that's all I smell. I'm not a huge fan of floral perfumes - to me they are just a mish mosh of sweetness (don't like sweet) but I love the smell of roses and lilacs, so I use singular note perfumes of those (as well as lavender) that I like to wear at bedtime. This is my lilac - divine while it lasts.

Calvini

I'm so surprised by how much I like (even love) this! It's almost the same feeling when I first discovered En Passant.. How can such effortless fragrance caught me so off-guard! It has a similar vibe (not in notes) to YSL's Paris, but more natural, and I can definitely smell the honeysuckle even though it isn't rated that high. My favorite from this brand!

*I think this is the best lilac fragrance I've come across because it's sweeter than En Passant without feeling artificial; also, the quality is (obviously) better than Pacifica, which is much sharper like a room spray.

purpleturtle

This smells divine. A magical act of placing your face in a perfect spring bouquet. Breathe it in. Sillage starts out moderate, but gets softer with the 4 hour longevity. I would love more if it stayed stronger longer. But a beautifully soft lilac done pretty. I would enjoy wearing this very much! Happy smelling! :)

artemiss

A very nice green lilac scent. It doesn't seem to have quite the same longevity at the others in this series, but it is still very true the lilac and spring flowers throughout the life of the fragrance on my skin.
Very well done.

tyekristopher

this scent literally drives me crazy!!!! in a good way! I work at von maur and got introduced to this just by sniffing around and I couldn't stop smelling it ! it literally is intoxicating to me, it's so fresh and sweet and not overwhelming ! the scent got noticed easily when I wore it and I found it wore well with me. I'm glad I stumbled upon this. Only con is it is super expensive

LuxAestiva

A pretty, delicate fragrance that revolves around dewy, dusty purple lilac clusters. But is it worth $100-$150? Definitely not. You can find comparable scents to this for $10-$20 elsewhere. To justify a price like that you need supreme, impeccable quality or a fresh perspective, neither of which Lilac Path possess.

Peachysugarbuns

I read the Anne of Green Gables series every few years or so, and have since I was 10. The historical elements, descriptions of fashion and the beauty of Avonlea, and the feeling of being a young girl again never gets old. Since discovering Lilac Path, everytime I've revisited the books I've sprayed it on my wrist and have huffed it chapter after chapter. Lilac Path is the perfect "scent track" for those beautiful books.

This is a warm lilac fragrance, sunny and realistic. In a time where staying inside and sitting at the computer is common, Lilac Path calls us out-of-doors and gently reminds us that the real magic, the real stimulation of life, can be found on flowering paths and under bowers, amongst busy insects, fresh greenery, puffy petals and beside the tinkling sounds of a swift-moving brook.

Somehow this fragrance feels "old" and current at the same time. It is not too heavy or "frilly" like lilac fragrances can feel, and I think that the punch of greenery in Lilac Path makes it so easy to wear. It's a clean spin on a classic floral note, and somehow that enhances the whimsy. I love Lilac Path.

OTA Mom

Like walking down a garden path... searching for a lilac? The lilac here is far too understated to rank placement in the title. Very green and pleasant, just not enough of the guest of honor!

ErinDewan

This fragrence is completely divine! Lilac is my favourite flower and this honours it!
I tried it at Sephora on the weekend and could not stop bringing my hand to my nose... For the entire rest of the day!! Like a bloodhound or a crazy woman. I can still smell it on my scarf 4 days later!!! (She says with said scarf wrapped unnecessarily around her)
I remember sampling it a year ago and being disappointed that it wasn't an EXACT replica of the scent of a lilac. I was clearly too fussy and demanding of it... I wanted a lilac but this perfume offers an entire lilac garden complete with multiple varieties of lilacs, giving much more complexity and depth than one would get from a solitary flower. We also have a number of other (lesser) green and white-flowery notes that enhance the lilacs and complete this little lilac path we find ourselves wandering. The lilac is real but not quite real. Like a friend in a dream who seems to be wearing someone else's face yet is perfectly recognizable as your dear friend. It's lilac but not quite as I've ever experienced before.
Still, I'm in love. I cannot get enough of this scent, I'm shocked it isn't as loved as it should be... I can only imagine that too many people just wanted an exact lilac replica as I did at first. Give it another try!!! It's magical.
Ps I also have the Pacifica lilac perfume but its super synthetic compared to Aerins version. Nice, but not wonderful by any means. I've had it for years and basically never pick it up. :(

rosmarin

I really wanted to smell a realistic lilac scent. But no,i can feel that, one of the notes is lilac, but that's it. It's just a note. I really don't understand people who say this is exactly like real lilacs. No,it's just a combination of notes.it is a nice perfume, but i wanted something different. I wanted to love En Passant by Frederic Malle,a perfume that really smells like a lilac. But is has that strong naphthalene sensation . However, between Lilac Path and En Passant,i prefer En Passant. It really makes me think of lilacs ,it's much more artistic. It's so sad that is has the naphthalene sensation, quite strong. Lilac Path smells ordinary.I would pay 50 pounds for this, not more.

ScarlettX

I can only sense lilac note in it. It reminds me of how I liked to collect lilacs when I was a child. Sun is shining, lilacs are the most beautiful and there's not one cloud in the blue sky.
It's awesome, that there are perfumes like that. I don't know if I'd buy it though. It's a very cool scent, but I'm into sweeter fragrances.
Otherwise, it's a nice perfume, natural lilac smelling.
A product of quality for sure!

what is this I don't even

Just got a chance to sample this - En Passant will always be king of lilacs but this is lovely.

Wysteria

This is a clean, straightforward and very pleasant floral! It smells like true lilacs and doesn't develop on my skin, but I don't mind because it's a really nice scent. It's quite long lasting and keeps on smelling fresh the whole time.

I only wish they would sell small bottles of this; I won't wear this every day because it's so specific. But it's great for spring days. I'll use up my sample and decide if I want to buy a bottle anyway. The bottles look pretty on photo with the stones on top.

This is a 'must try' for all the floral fans

sueshow

OMG this smells just like lilacs. Funny how lilac is not listed in the notes.

acid-cat

I was beyond stoked to try this perfume, and after reviewing the notes, ordered it blindly. Though it is a balanced and nicely composed perfume it's nothing like what I was expecting. The lilac is weak and too green. The jasmine note overpowers everything else. Lilac Path seriously smells like vintage Love's Soft Jasmin on my skin. Lovely, but not worth it's luxury price tag. Longevity and sillage are a joke for as much as this costs. Comparing Lilac Path to Pacifica's French Lilac, the latter does come off a bit more synthetic but is overall a more realistic lilac fragrance.

FinerThings

Where is the lilac under the note listings? Considering this is predominantly a lilac fragrance don't you think you should have the correct notes listed--in this case lilac? Somebody needs to correct that.

In any case this is a very pretty lilac perfume which is well-blended with galbanum (giving it a green feel), orange blossom, jasmine and a touch of bitter angelica seed The addition of those other notes give the perfume some depth.. It doesn't have that air freshener vibe that so many lilac perfumes tend to have. It's creamy, feminine and airy. Aerin Lauder did a nice job on this one. I've tried the Aerin Lauder Gardenia Rattan fragrance and I didn't like that one at all. Lilac Path is much nicer IMO. Worth a sniff if you like lilac fragrances and don't want something that smells like air freshener. I used to really like En Passant lilac perfume by Frederic Malle but lately I find the aquatic note in that one hard to take. I think I prefer Lilac Path.

Kmam

Very pretty and feminine; a simple lilac scent that doesn't overpower. Very realistic and quite linear. As with the others in this range the sillage is quite gentle and the longevity could be better, but for what it is, it's quite lovely.

RosalieRosalie

This perfume is absolutely divine.
I suppose i could look for other words to describe it, but they all would be synonyms i'm afraid...

BelleofRivendell

This perfume couldn’t be named any better! It smells exactly like a lilac bush. I can’t understand how lilac is not listed in the notes pyramid. Projection is moderate and staying power could range from 4-6 hours depending on the wearer and how much of it has been sprayed. On my skin this is a pure floral. If I had to imagine a color for it, it would be purple peppered with dark green dots. Google “Watermelon Tourmaline” and look at the pictures. In my mind, this smells exactly how that beautiful stone looks!

Compared to a pastel floral such as Yves Rocher Pur Desir de Lilas, this is a bit deeper, spicier, and more complex. If you were to compare this to a more perfume-y lilac composition such as Fleurs d`Ombre Jasmin Lilas, I’d say this is a less musky and a more natural interpretation of it. I know that there are a lot of perfumistas amongst us who are mourning the discontinuation of Jasmin Lilas. I was lucky enough to snag a very expensive but small bottle of it a few years ago. I’ve been using it sparingly because I was afraid to run out of it. It’s virtually impossible to find it anywhere anymore. Folks, the good news is: This is a very decent replacement for it!! The composition opens with a very prominent lilac note. The first few minutes are nothing but fresh lilacs. Unlike Jasmin Lilas, there are no overripe fruits present. For me this is an improvement to the composition. The heart phase, much like the Jasmin Lilas, is dominated by a spicy jasmine note with lilac following as the secondary presence. I cannot detect any orange flower or angelica as the notes suggest. I think a touch of galbanum is what gives it that spicy edge and, when combined with a hint of green notes, imitates that smell of “bush” as you walk down the lilac path. The drydown is a light floral that is subtle, feminine, pleasant, and wearable in all seasons.

I’ve been reading through the reviews for Aerin Lauder perfumes in general. I cannot understand the disdain generated towards them. I already own 4 of their beauties so it’s safe to say that Aerin is quickly becoming one of my favorite perfumes houses. I think, for the price, they are well composed with quality ingredients. Aerin Rose de Grasse is one of my favorite roses of all times and I’d be surprised if people wouldn’t plunk down a bunch of money if these were bottled under the Guerlain or Tauer or even Tom Ford brands. Give the Aerin perfumes a fair chance. They’re an understated house that deserves more credit. :)

Nice, but nothing special.

BWLee

Lilac Path is just like pure lilac in a bottle, it is so pure, comparable with Jo Malone series, last all day on me, i adore its simpleness.

Marie76

The Aerin line has three elegant, strong, natural and harmonious white flower perfumes, Jasmin Ikat, Ratan, and this one which is my favourite. It's very natural, it reminds me of the original Jo Malone scents, it's very much like the real thing, having spent several summers of my life in New England this is what a lush flowery summer garden in bloom smells like. As with lilac, it's sweet, but it's also very fresh, there's a green note in there somewhere, along with jasmine and plumeria, it's gorgeous and less creamy than the other two.Sillage and staying power are very good. They are all classic scents, beautiful and non dramatic, they please, rather than " grow" on you, and I like them for that. They are " all American" in that sense, easy smiles, rich and generous. Very good for the summer and for when you don't want anything complicated.

reereetuna

I have a lilac bush under my kitchen window and when it blooms in the spring the fragrance comes through the open window and fills the house! Alas, this blooming is short lived i love likacs so much i'll pull up a chair as close as i can to the bush and spend some time with a good book. Now that i have found this feagrance i can experience lilac wgenever i want! I had purcased the sampler at the Estee Lauder counter and wore the lilac path on saturday . I dont know if anyone else could smell me but i smelled myself for a good part of the day . It was Spring in late January! And so, heres another perfume to add to my wish list. There are not enough days in a lifetime.....

Terimwal

Fragrantica is missing the lilac in the notes. It's the first note mentioned on the Aerin web site.

This smells like a fresh, true lilac. A little old-fashioned, but not cloying. It would be nice for a summer day.

Winterspring

.......this is amazing. It's like sitting in a lilac tree. How weird that there's not one note of lilac though.

Pixie1104

I'll be honest here, I was disappointed when I blind-bought this fragrance (on the basis that I'm OBSESSED with Aerin's Gardenia Rattan fragrance).

My first thought upon excitedly ripping open the cello and spritzing it on generously was that it smelt very, very old-fashioned, exactly like something my grandmother would have worn.

There's no doubt that there's a purity and simplicity to it that's delightful in its own way and doubtless it's an accurate interpretation of lilacs but it's not one for me as when I wear it I feel it ages me by 30 years. This is one I'll be passing on to a more mature friend!

originaldeftom

Perhaps the BEST LILAC I have ever sniffed. Very close to the real thing. I guess it's the jasmine lactones, that dominate this blend.

Really impressive longevity for a floral theme, I must admit.

Great reference scent. 10/10 for genuine lilac impersonation.

renecastillo01

Perfect! It is so hard to find a good quality lilac fragrance that does not "turn" into powder! If you want quality you have to pay for it!

genny17

This is lovely, like fresh lilac, so if you like a true take on lilac, this is it..now for me, I dont care much about lilac perfumes, still this manages to be a realistic and pretty lilac scent.., I grew up across from a park where lilac bloomed, this is really the real thing...nothing more to say really, it is a safe perfume, nice. Too expensive though.

Spikekuji

I smelled this today at Saks. My first thought was that Pacifica's French Lilac is similar at a better price point. It has that bury your nose in a lilac bush super honeyed smell, so my second thought was, okay, at least it s accurate. And my final thought was I do not want o smell like this.
