Alaïa Eau de Parfum Blanche by Alaia Paris is a Floral Woody Musk fragrance for women. Alaïa Eau de Parfum Blanche was launched in 2016. The nose behind this fragrance is Marie Salamagne. Top note is Almond; middle note is Heliotrope; base note is Vanilla Absolute.

The fashion designer of gorgeous couture dresses Azzedine Alaïa launched his first perfume Alaïa in 2015, a leather scent based on the contrast between cool and hot, oriental notes. The fragrance was inspired by the designer's memories of his childhood spent in Tunisia, like water poured over hot brick walls. Alaïa Blanche comes out in late 2016 as its new edition.

Alaïa Blanche is inspired by the designer's visit to the fortress of Alhambra in Granada in the south of Spain. People who worked on the creation include Carla Sozzani, the famous editor of Italian Vogue and founder of the brand 10 Corso Como, designer Martin Szekely and fashion photographer Paolo Roversi.

The composition is created by perfumer Marie Salamagne, who is also behind the original: “The bottle design is elegant and simple, inspired by contemporary art. We wanted to focus on a minimalist design, black and white, with this symbol of opposition and attraction between men and women.”

The elegant glass bottle has kept the shape and design of the original, only instead of black, it comes in white with the letters in nude. Available as a 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Blind bought a brand new, older, richly aged bottle. Hate it. Batch code is 7076EM if anyone’s interested—I have it for sale on a secondhand site that begins with M. PM for deets 💖

I have been obsessed with finding this fragrance for over a year now, after the reviews suggested it is similar to Narciso Rodriguez. I travelled to London today, tried Selfridges, tried Harrods, both only stock the clothing range. Finally made my way to the Alaïa store and I was utterly underwhelmed. I can't smell anything powdery, it is purely sweet almond. From the initial spray I was underwhelmed by the overall floral notes, before it rapidly dried down to a cheap, sweet almond hand wash. On my skin this just doesn't live up to what I had hoped for.

Why does everyone seem to think it’s discontinued? All 3 are available on alaia website? Smh

I started wearing it again after couple of years. I forgot how good this is. Its October and it suits the crispiness of the weather. So elegant and pretty. So Pretty. Luxurious and warm. Sweet like a hug. An almond hug. But its an elegant hug ;) If you like heliotrope then you must have it. Often you see in forums people asking for spa/luxury hotel smells. This fits this so so much. The woman I picture wearing it is beautiful inside out, with attention to detail in hair and nails. Smiling. Gorgeous scent. Big love.

Why did they change the notes? This definitely has powder, violet and musk notes in addition to what’s now listed. I *really* hope that doesn’t mean it was recently reformulated!

Alaia Blanche is, from what I have smelled so far, the only powdery that is not powdery! Don't throw with stones, I don't smell powder here! Fragrantica ensures this facility of being able to mention similar perfumes or even more. And here we find N Poudree, V Poudre or H P with which the aforementioned Alaia would have similarities. Well, imho, it doesn't. To my nose, the powdery notes are a perfect mix of violet and heliotrope which, the height of insolence, reminds me of Insolence or Ultraviolet!!! I have not met Insolence Eau glacee, but i think this is how it should smell: like Alaia Blanche. The final touch of this perfume is given by the white flowers, magnolia to be more precise, which I see that not too many people have discovered here. To conclude: if Insolence edp or even edt are too much for you and you want something lighter, give Alaia Blanche a test and a chance. I'm sure you won't be disappointed..

Sugary whilst powdery at the same time, I have to say this is my least favourite version of the Alaiia line. It’s a little too sweet for me.

Ordered a sample as was hoping to add another from this line to my collection but won’t be buying a bottle.

This is so underrated, I wish people could know more about this fragrance. it's my absolute favorite.

today I reached for my backup bottle of Alaia Blanche after five years and I saw the color of it's liquid has changed to dark reddish brown. fortunately it's scent is unchanged. so I'm pretty sure there's not two different versions of Alaia Blanche because I witnessed it's change of color when it's aged.
now let's talk about it's gorgeous, dreamy scent. for me Alaia Blanche has nothing to do with Dior Hypnotic Poison and I've been wearing HP and it's flankers for years. it has a slight similarity to Valentino Poudree and NR Poudree but it's different enough to justify buying it if you have the other mentioned Poudre perfumes.
when I first spray Alaia Blanche, violet and powdery notes are the most dominant. it's a sweet, almost candied violet which I enjoy a lot but as it dries down, it turns to something even more pretty. it gets warmer, a milky vanilla and a silky musk(a bit similar to the muskyness of NR cube line) show up and heliotrope replaces violet. it has some sweetness but I can't call this a very sweet scent and it has some deliciousness but I can't call it a gourmand( I detect something like a flowery almond like how almondy a heliotrope note can feel which is a bit different with the almond itself). this scent is cold and warm at the same time. powdery and milky at the same time. it's clean in a not soapy, not sharp way. I find it very feminine and delicate and chic in a simple, minimalist way. unfortunately it's not potent or long lasting on me and I prefer beast mode perfumes, still I'm happy to have this one. it's office friendly, romantic night friendly, very versatile and ageless.
Edit:
I don't know why they changed the notes. I can definitely smell these notes:
violet, vanilla, musk, heliotrope, something very similar to the powdery notes in Valentino poudre and there's definitely some non descript white florals here.

Mc1995

Really pretty. Gorgeous powdery fragrance. Simple but interesting enough. Honestly I wouldn’t say it’s worth the high prices unless you have that budget. Just get Dior Hypnotic Poison. That being said, Glad to have it, it’s gorgeous

Edit, 2 hours later, this lasts quite well, for a powdery light type of fragrance, it performs well. Also the bottle has a great, strong spray. After comparing side by side, this goes sweeter, while Hypnotic Poison is more almondy. Only reason I said go for Dior HP is because it’s more available while this is unfortunately discontinued. You can still find some deals on this out there but it’s getting hard.

THIS FRAGRANCE IS GORGEOUS!
I blind bought a 10ml travel size, simply because it was a great price and I like the original Alaïa (black bottle), but was I in for a surprise!

It is comforting but sensual, classy but mysterious, a masterpiece but very wearable. This is a wonderful, sophisticated vanilla and can be worn all year round.

I feel very foolish that I didn't buy a bigger bottle at the time and sadly these days, this perfume is difficult to find. My 10ml has the dark liquid and is honestly one of my favourite fragrances.

@étoilesdejasmin08 this isn’t Poshmark, take your spammy advertisements out of the reviews section.

violeteme

Sweet, soft and a bit balsamic baby powder. Smells dreamy. Perfect all year round. Sillage and longevity are moderate. I relate with the comments stating that they both like it and not. It does have something old school in it, reminds me of Hypnotic Poison, but like a baby version of it.

Sanrio

Bluh.. I don't know why I don't like this, but I just don't. It's powdery, it's vanillic, yes I detect some violet. But it's just so.... perfumey. It's sharp. I can almost taste it as I breathe it in.

First powdery fragrance I've tried that was a complete scrubber for me.

Lavendery72

Sadly I really disliked this. Besides the horrible headache it gave me, I don't get any vanilla or powder whatsoever. It smells like Mugler Aura somehow (which I actually like) but it never develops into anything the way Aura does.

Seemed very strong and one note. Wish I experienced the lovely transformation that everyone else did, without a headache.

Bluebirdpsyche

This is a posh one in·nit? Smells like a fresh blow out. Diaphanous, soft, airy, Make up getting done. The snapping shut of a golden compact case. A dress just picked up from the dry cleaners, still in its plastic bag, with a fit like a second skin… silky soft, musky warmth, and a dusting of vanilla almond powder. Your skin but better molecular feel of polished powdered sugar. As it dries down it crystallizes into a balsamic gossamer of spun caramelized sugar, Just really pretty and lovely and clean smelling, but also sensual. ‘Tis a provocateur of demure decadence!

I’m glad I was able to get this when I did. It doesn’t seem to be as easily available as it was last year. It’s has great performance, lasts all day, projects, but not too much….sigh, makes me feel rich girl rich, lol

This perfume has been a long-desired for me. When I finally got a bottle of it, I sprayed it on and immediately I felt so content with my blind buy.
This is a beautiful combination of Valentina Poudre and Violet Blonde by Tom Ford. So nice. I really agree with one of the reviews below that there definitely is a hidden violet note. To my nose it is a soft scent of a compact powder - iris, vanilla and violet (Violet Blonde).
Yes, it is definitely very reminiscent of Valentina Poudre, but Poudre is way more woodsy. I don't really smell woody notes in Alaia Blanche. It's just soft, violet-like, very comfy-smelling...Moreover, I think I got the very last bottle one could get in the country I live in. :) Longevity and sillage are moderate, I would say.

Amethyste

notes according to Alaia website:
1) almond
2) heliotrope
3) vanilla absolute

"Alaïa Paris Eau de parfum blanche is a creation between light and shade. The top note is a white impression created with almond. The heart is a floral impression that radiates in contact with heliotrope. The base note, the signature bare skin impression, is enriched with a vanilla absolute."

amberonic

Got a sample of this blind in a swap. On the test strip the liquid was dark reddish amber. The opening is so sweet and fruity I thought maybe it had been mislabeled. As a lover of both powdery vanilla musks and musky, powdery vanillas, I smelled nothing like that. What I smelled was all pink and sweet like some chalky raspberry/violet candy.
An hour later, mmhmm what is that lovely vanilla? Ah-ha! There is the vanilla powder. Really lovely with good sillage.
After a shower, I get the Hypnotic Poison comparison from what synth woods are sticking around, but not before.

EvasFragrances

This is one of very few perfumes that I have backup bottles of. I find this to be such a pretty and comforting scent, very cozy - almost like getting a hug from someone close to you. It's probably just the sentimental side of me talking, but there's a reason that this remains in my top favs.

This is powdery and sweet (so if you don't like powdery scents, this might not be for you).

chimidoro

I have written of this previously, see below.
I am revisiting after acquiring the version with darker contents.
Those believing the extremely dark version is as such due to age are incorrect in this particular case. (My lighter version is years old and has darkened only slightly compared to official images depicting this as a clear, uncoloured liquid.)
There are definitely two formulations of this scent. One darker, one lighter. They are not one and the same.
Whether the darker version did start out lighter is probably irrelevant, it's still a different formulation.

Personally I have found both too sickly sweet for my taste. Too permeating. I tire easily of this scent. Either version. The sweetness overwhelms.

The lighter liquid variant contains a different violet than the darker version. It is the focus from the opening through to the heart. It is not as balsamic, it is more effervescent, less complex.
The darker of the two is instantly stronger among with not opening with that bright violet, it is heavily balsamic from the off. There are other flowers - all lilacs/violets/heliotrope/orris/purple. Atop heavy balsamic, buttery, ambery talcum.
Both versions contain a subtly salty musc and strong vanilla.
Both are sweet and have excellent longevity. The lighter is as tenacious but more delicately perceived.
The darker is a room filler, less bright, lacks that particular violet note. Its violet is closer to that of the original, black bottle version Alaïa.

If you wash them off, the lighter liquid version leaves its dominant, more synthetic, violet behind, while the darker version leaves a powdered amber behind.

That's my two (s)cents, anyhoo.
For me it is, in either incarnation, too warm, too sickly, too sweet.
Both versions are simply different formulations of the same scent. The lighter is, I believe, "technically" not as good.

ScentBliss555

I've been under the weather and nothing has smelled good to my nose or on my skin. Alaia Blanche is the exception.

It was not love at first spray. On skin, all I get is a strong cherry coke smell but in the air and on clothes the smell is a cross between Guerlain L'instant's vanilla and powdery notes and Dior's Poison Girl Dr. Pepper fizzy opening. It's a very long-lasting, classic, femine, and powdery scent. It's wonderful!
Can't wait to feel better and test again on skin.

This one may be one of a few rare fragrances or I should say perhaps I am one of a few guys who wears this and appreciate it greatly. 🥰👨🏻👍🏽👍🏽✨

But it started unintentionally and unexpectedly.
This was a gift from a company I used to work for, and I kept it for a while thinking I could give this to someone eventually as a gift but it was left in the dark for a while.
I got curious the scent profile so when I saw it, other than white florals, the rest looks quite unisex although some men’s fragrances have also white florals, too so I thought hmmm…🤔

And other thing is, when I saw the bottle in the beginning when I first time got this, I remember the juice was clear and then later on I noticed the juice turned into a dark brown like those pics posted by people on here. So those who are wondering if Fragrantica made a mistake or people are posting another fragrance, it is actually the same one and don’t worry, it’s just the “vanilla transformation”.
It was processed to be clear in the lab but vanilla usually starts to show its own natural colour which is this syrupy brown just like when you buy the vanilla essence from the bakery goods isles in the grocery stores. But there’s no difference in quality so no need for panicking just so you guys know. (This is common with many other fragrances with tons of vanilla. It eventually transforms into a darker colour)

So, I tested on my skin, thinking this fragrance could get too floral and feminine like a pretty lady in a nice dress and make up on. It does have a hint of that element to be honest because of the mixture of powdery note and floral note. But, because of the rest of the sweet beautiful deep vanilla and musky notes, those powdery and floral notes don’t get too dominant at least on my skin.

This fragrance stays long time on my skin. Projection and sillage are also fantastic.
So this fragrance is although still leaning tad bit towards more feminine side, if you are confident and appreciate the art of scents/fragrance, then those men can also appreciate this beauty and wear it with confidence. ✨👨🏻🥰
Maybe not an every day kind of fragrance but when the weather is cooler and looking for some comfort, this would be a great reach. You could share with your partner for sure.👫🏻

I actually wear many ladies’ fragrances including the original Alaïa black bottle (love it!😍♥️✨) and I find many (not all) ladies’ fragrances on men’s skin become more masculine compared to how it smells on female skin and vice a versa. (Men’s fragrances on female skin)

Every time when I wear this, it keeps pumping a nice rich sweet vanilla fragrance with a touch of floral powdery whiffs for very long time and keeps wrapping around me wherever I go.
It’s a very potent excellent quality fragrance. So either woman or man, you can appreciate the well blended and well rounded comforting scent throughout the scent life on the skin. ✨🥰☁️

I believe this is one of hidden gems for those who appreciate this type of blend including the original black bottle by Alaïa. ✨💎 🧐

I've had this for a while and already reviewed it, but reading through the comments just now and seeing how so many detect the presence of violet, I'm wondering if Marie Salamange added it as a "mystery note" in order to link it to the original Alaia while still creating a completely different fragrance. I really need to dig this out of my collection and see if I can detect it.
I have to amend my original review a bit. While I still think this is a gorgeous fragrance, I've really grown to appreciate and love the original. It's so sophisticated, and the violet and leather play beautifully together. I'm also smelling it much more clearly now, and find that my original complaint about it vanishing too quickly is no longer the case. I'm sure that I will have the same experience with Blanche, and with the third member of the collection, Nude. All are as sophisticated and alluring as one would expect from Mr. Alaia.

Fragrancewonder

One of the best vanilla scents that I have smelled. To me it's soft and cozy yet warm and pronouncing. This sweet powdery fragrance is great to wear on its own or to layer with a another fragrance. Its a sophisticated vanilla that gives me grown woman vibes. On me, I get moderate longevity and moderate sillage. I adore it so much I just got a back up bottle.

Also, there is nothing wrong with the juice if it is dark. Vanilla based fragrances turn dark over time, think of it as aged wine.

BTW, it smells nothing like Hypnotic Poison but it does layer well with it.

kkaattjjeess

Definitely reminds me of Valentina Poudre, but it's a more "gentle" version of it (I gave away my Valentina as something about it was inexplicably harsh about it to my nose).

Blanche's name fits it well, it's light, pure and fluffy. Very powdery but not so much makeup powder, rather baby powder (in the best way). Does not resemble Hypnotic Poison in my opinion.

It's a good option for people who enjoy scents like Valentina Poudre or Narciso Poudre.

Tt777

This is very pretty. I could see this as signature scent. It’s sophisticated and classy and does have a bit of a high end makeup powder vibe mixed in with some florals and a hint of sweetness that is almond/ caramel like but not in a cloying way. A cold sweetness. I bought a 8 mil decant and this Is full bottle worthy. Perfect for all seasons and an easy reach for any occasion. It reminds me of high end department stores perhaps bc of the powdery makeup note.

Btw the juice of my decant is a very pale beige. Not the dark vanilla extract

Anamandy

I appreciate that some here listed the notes, but though there is no violet listed, this still gives me that impression. I'm getting a little bit of violet around me, so it must be the combination of notes that is creating that effect. Overall, it's a pretty, almondy, vanilla, powdery, heliotrope, violet cloud of a fragrance. I picked up a used bottle sold via a charity that is the color of dark cola. First spray is intense, almost overwhelming. It soon lightens up, but this is not performing like an edp but more like a concentrated extrait strength. Two sprays and I could smell it clearly all day. I can only surmise that this must have concentrated over time. It is certainly very rich and heavily powdery, which was slightly cloying on this unseasonably warm day. While I like it right now, I don't love it, simply because it is a little heavy. That's subject to change with the weather, as I think this will be fabulous in the cold.

zind

This is so interesting. I just received both Blanche and Valentino Poudrée. I expected them to be quite similar, so maybe that's the reason I find them so little alike. The drydown might be a long the same vibe, but the opening is strikingly different!

Alaia Blanche suprised me, I expected something totally different. The almond heavy fragrance I expected is nowhere to be found and it's quite flowery. Sure, if I concentrate I can imagine that some of the smoothness comes from almond and heliotrope. Mostly I smell something I can only describe as sort of sweet flowery citrus powder? It reminds me of something, but I have no idea what. Are those aldehydes in the opening?

In the battle between this and Poudrée, Alaia wins hands down for me. So comforting, smooth and feminine. Poudrée was nice, but also very dull and mainstream in comparison. Glad I got to try them both. Blanche is now on my wish list 😍

sophiesmystery

Um, definitely not what I was expecting. I am one of the lucky ones who seemed to have gotten one of the fresher bottles, not the darker ones where the vanillin has matured, so perhaps that's skewing my first impression but lmfao, this is basically a mash up between the white floral/nude skin cashmere of J'adore with a hint of Hypnotic Poison's almond cake from a distance. Lots of clean, soapy laundry musks in the background, too. But from afar it smells more like almonds than when you sniff it up close. Also, you do get an impression of water or sweet rain on earth. It's pretty and feminine in a womanly, just took a hot shower in the summer evening kind of scent. I was expecting a little more sensuality because this one gets compared to HP so much and it's really quite innocent. The bottle is stunning though and it's made really, really heavy glass so be very careful when holding it because I can see this cracking.

LadyPilot

The perfume is an interesting mix of sweet plastic-like candy, marshmallow and sunny/floral notes. Cheap vs expensive, childlish vs elaborate - that's what this perfume is all about. I suppose that it might work in VERY small amounts with some elegant outfit on an evening occasion, but too much of it might bring on a "ridiculous" effect. There is also some very distant but irritating musky note which makes it even more disturbing. All depends on one's skin chemistry, therefore I strongly recommend trying before byuing, if you don't want to smell like play-doh with cotton-candy & macaroon.

renashepet

This is a love for me. Its a fragrance that kept me grounded during a difficult and low point in my life - it's warmth and softness brought me some peace and comfort and I think I will always love it for that. But, enough about my emotional attachment to this.

This is a powdery, soft floral, slightly sweet scent. I can see where it gets compared to Hypnotic Poison, but they're definitely not the same in my book. Hypnotic Poison has a sort of spiciness to it, where this is more delicate and doesn't have the woodiness of Hypnotic Poison. I love both of them, but they're not the same.

This is one of my all-time loves, I can't imagine it not being in my collection (so much so that I went out and bought a back-up bottle).

If anyone gets a bottle with the dark juice and is confused why it's not clear like show in the picture, that's because the vanillin changes color over time, so it's not a fake it's just because the ingredient causes the color to change after a while.

mirrorghost

i get mostly powder and floral notes upon application with a bit of musk. then a sweet almond note comes forward and gets stronger, and at this point it's a floral-almond perfume. hard to place the floral, but it's sweet and tropical. (edit: i read the review below and i agree, it's magnolia.) i was expecting something soft and powdery but this is not that. while it is powdery, it packs a bit more of a punch than i expected, due to the white flowers dominating.

joliecat

Light to Dark ? Yes. My bottle of this perfume changed color with time. Here's why.........When brand new, Alaia Blanche appeared as a clear liquid inside the bottle. With time, the liquid perfume darkens as it becomes stronger, richer, much longer lasting. This is due to the vanilla note. Vanilla darkens with age. Nothing to worry about, it doesn't change the smell, it deepens and enhances it The scent is pleasant, like a smooth rich silky lotion. It has a modern, mildly powdery tone from the white musk, but it's not a dry powder. The white flowers are so well blended that it's hard to separate each scent. I don't recognize any tuberose, tropical flowers or orange flower, but I do detect magnolia, white rose, jasmine and white violets in the mix. To me, Valentina Poudre is a fun, feminine, pretty, more powdery daytime makeup scent, pink almond fluff "out with the girls" scent. Alaia Blanche is more of a creamy, "come closer" night fragrance. A perfume that's naturally sweet, Alaia Blanche is elegant, deep, rich, inviting, sexy, made for women who fully embrace and enjoy their sultry femininity. After the color turns dark inside the bottle, this perfume will easily last 8 to 12 hours on skin, longer on fabrics Projection is arm's length to wrap you in a beautiful scent bubble. You can easily wear Valentina Poudre to the office, but Alaia Blanche is NOT appropriate for office wear, too sultry for that. These two perfumes are like night and day, and I love them both.

mimircks

Today's mood (because that's how I choose my sotd): Alaia edp Blanche. First impression (after having been in my collection for 8 months) is that she is....STUNNING!! Secondly, she is going to be even better in the spring/summer months, but for now - here smack in the middle of winter in Palestine - she is going to...KILL! Alaia opens w/a strong, yet elegant, almond/coconut deliciousness that is hitting just RIGHT today! She slowly moves into her glorious, next-level VANILLA, then settles into a come-closer-musky?-powder. Nothing left to say, about her really, so I won't...but I WILL go & try to take a deserving photo of her for fragram. LOL

CateCate

Please people, what’s the difference between light and dark juice!?

Blind buy fail for me unfortunately. I had high hopes for this one since I love Valentina Poudre, HP, and powder and vanilla. I think it’s the solar note that is throwing me off. I’ll likely swap or pass along to someone who will love it.

chimidoro

The diversity of the reviews here has led me to wonder if perhaps there are two versions of this scent, can anybody shed some light?
Comments of an almond, milky, vanillic version and comments of a sweet violet dominant version.... And pictures displaying light or dark liquid.

I have a bottle with the light liquid and it's a very lovely warm parma violet scent that emanates softly from my skin in a caressing whispery cloud of incense and balsamic vanilla.
Is the darker liquid version without this violet? Is that the root beer, play-doh, lactonic vanilla version people speak of? Or are these differences just down to perception and there's no more than one version and one has darker liquid due to oxidisation or some such.

I actually saw a couple of people on Amazon claim in reviews that the dark liquid version is fake, based on their previous purchase in store of the light liquid version, but I'm not sure about that.... I think there are, simply, two versions.
Anybody care to elaborate? :)

RhodeC

White floral, powdery and something.... ??

I think what is jarring to me is what others have described as "root beer." What is that? If I ever figure it out, I'll update it here.

viannesvs

(?) mislabeled fragrance notes warning
oh heavy balsamic scent. i waited for the dry down wishing it would get softened into the warm powdery scent that i had wanted but it never did. the slightly sour balsamic notes just take away the cozy vibe of powder and make it feel rather distant and chill. it could probably be more suited for fall than winter i’d say.
also, it holds zero resemblance to valentina poudré to me.

KDot

This is very root beer smelling to me and definitely powdery. It’s not for me because it’s causing me to sneeze but I can understand why people like it. The fuzzy description is accurate - fuzzy root beer

Amberdunn

The notes listed above; as top notes, are they accurate/or complete?? I get more than what I see above. I love this scent, it is beautiful. I give it a 9.5/10 for everything.

So I get musk and some woody notes. I get florals and funny enough a hint of chocolate, dark bitter chocolate.... I also get some bitter nuttiness.

On my skin, it lasts all day and it projects very well. The musk is evident, The vanilla too. There are levels to this beauty and this creation is so underrated.

Lollia007

Wearing right now and it feels like a soft warm, fuzzy blanket that's wrapped around me and keeps me warm. I love that it's balzamic, powdery and vanilla sweet, but transparent in the meantime. Intense but without homicidal properties.
What's interesting is, I tried this fragrance for several times during spring and summer, but for some reasons simply couldn't get used to it. I found something a bit medicinal (something similar that MFK's Baccarat Rouge has) kept me away from it. I even nearly sold it! However finally in the cold weather everything equalizes in a soft, balsamic, powdery scent. It's a lovely autumn fragrance!🥰🍁🍂

ViouAmara

Silky bare skin sensation. Nude, smooth, but not provocative. Just a warm delicacy.
I wish I could perceive it longer, but I guess it would ruin the mysterious and tender effect.

Jocovt11

Alaïa Eau de Parfum Blanche is absolutely stunning. The powdery vanilla isn’t artificial smelling, and not overly sweet. It is very romantic, sexy. I’m terrible at these reviews. The more I like something, the more impressed with it I am, the more difficult it is for me to put into words my reasons for appreciation. Gosh, I just love it.
Edit: My bottle has juice that is almost cola colored.

This is what I've found on Maison Alaia website about this wonderful fragrance:

Olfactory Family :Floral Almond Musky
Top Notes : WHITE IMPRESSION - Almond
Heart Notes : FLORAL IMPRESSION - Heliotrope
Base Notes : BARE SKIN IMPRESSION - Animal and musky notes, vanilla absolute

What I smell here is a very warm, powdery, musky vanilla, rich and enveloping, very beautiful and also very elegant, but cosy in the same time. It smells like a sunny autumn day in my mind, where the weather it's still warm, and the sun shines through the yellow, orange and red leaves! 💛🍂☀️

bintTapputi

Really pretty, really light, really simple. Very clean. The powder can be tasted, it's like powdered sugar, I don't know how to describe it. Really lovely and very feminine. 7/10

DieT CroaK

Is anyone else getting Clueless vibes from this???

“Oh, no. You don’t understand. This is an Alaïa.”
“An a-what-a?!?!”
“It’s like a totally important designer!”

I really could envision THE Cher Horowitz displaying this on her vanity in the opening scene of the movie. Like Cher, this is classy, elegant, confident and refined. But dualistically, it’s also playful, credulous, and genial. This smells modern but there’s a lot of the 90’s energy here. I completely agree with what has been said about this fragrance smelling a little root beer like. It actually smells a lot like Lip Smacker Dr Pepper chapstick during the dry down. That earns bonus points from me because I don’t care how old I get, I love that smell and continually pick up a stick at Target or Walmart. The vanilla also helps to project the more youthful aspects of Blanche. There’s something cherry-ish too that I am picking up on. Like a powdered cherry maybe? That might sound boring or average on paper yet there is something very unique that comes to life. The top reigning note is powder. This isn’t as facile as Love’s Baby Soft. It’s more creamy and cosmetic smelling. Powder can be tricky. It either smells mature/stuffy or it smells decadent/luxurious. Blanche absolutely falls into the latter category. I know that “solar notes” are unspecified and intentionally vague but there’s really nothing about this that screams a day at the beach. There’s definitely warmth in this scent. A solar disposition, perhaps; but no SPF, coconut, sandy/aquatic elements typically associated with the sun. Surfer girl? Nope. I get more of Madonna’s Material Girl. This is just, for a lack of a better term, yummy. It has no cloying, syrupy qualities. I can’t understand how this isn’t more popular.

I also have to agree that the bottle is gorgeous. It’s like a fancy, top shelf bottle of liquor. I was afraid that the juice turned when seeing the cognac brown in the bottles currently for sale. Rest assured, all perfumes with vanilla turn this color over time and it has no affect on neither the smell or longevity. I could still smell this the morning afterward. I think it’s fascinating that so many people are finding comparisons of Blanche to plenty of other popular perfumes in the mainstream market and yet she’s entirely in her own league. She’s a little bit of a chameleon, I guess. Interesting in so many ways. I am still curious to try Valentina Poudre if only to have that exquisite bottle. I have nothing negative to say about Blanche. Everything about this is beautiful in every way. Love, love, love this!

Beata1723

Bought this in the hopes of it being like Hypnotic Poison turned into powder.
Nope, not at all. Doesn't remind me of HP in the slightest.
Although this wasn't what I expected, I find this a beautiful creation.

The first inhale: cherries and almonds, like others have pointed out. That impression fades quickly though.
Violets, violets, violets and other purple flowers. A whole bunch of them, in a similar manner as in McQueen's My Queen. The official listing of notes claims it's all heliotrope, but let me assure you, this is a violet fragrance.
And powder, of course there's the finest and most elegant powder note on top of it throughout.

Just like I didn't find any similarities between this and HP, I also wouldn't compare this to Narciso Poudree. Maybe it's because of the White flowers of Narciso vs purple flowers of Alaia -thing.

On my skin though, Alaia turned out to be astonishingly similar to Juliette Has a Gun's Citizen Queen. I actually had a "Wait a minute! I know this!" kind of realization when wearing Alaia for the first time.
Alaia might be a tad sweeter and less leather-y than Citizen Queen, but otherwise they are a pair of classy, strong (twin)sisters.

Just beautiful. And classy, like I said.
Bottle and cap feel heavy and expensive. Honestly, I'd give this 4/5 stars just for the cap alone.

Don't pass this, especially if you love violets and powdery notes. And Citizen Queen.

Elixa

Sophisticated class!

Upon initial spray I can smell rather strong mixture of cherry, almond, white flowers and vanilla..... not the most pleasurable experience that my nose has been through.
This stage lasts quite a few good minutes.

After it starts settling down, it's more of a skin scent, but being able to detect its fumes for couple of hours, when lightly sprayed on clothes.

It gently smells like natural vanilla and powdered milk on the skin. In the sun, salty beachy air comes through on top.

Alaia Blanche is well balanced perfume, with hint of some sweetness, powdery notes and white flowers, possibly jasmine being one of them.

It smells expensive. Stunning class....

kayleenanncooke

Now that I've had this for a while I can say that this is like an unsweetened hypnotic poison.

Maddyg

This perfume remind me of Insolence by Guerlain, the EDP Version, it has the same powdery violent Note.

Jacquis

@cmagnolia, I agree. I distinctly smell violets in this.

I am wearing Alaia Blanche on this really warm Spring evening in Florida. It is about 85F and Alaia Blanche smells like a powdery violet, vanilla, musky perfume. It is gorgeous. Though cocooning, there is most certainly a solar quality. I sprayed 2x and that is more than enough for a warm spring/summer evening.

I do not see a resemblance to Narciso nor Poison. This is quite soft and comforting. Could be used all year round actually.

cmagnolia

Gorgeous.

I just reviewed Narciso Eau de Parfum, and Alaia Blanche is somewhat in the same family as the Narciso line. Cousins maybe.

Blanche is soft, lightly sweet, with a graceful touch of vanilla. It's an airy, fluffy musk dream. Texturally, it has a slight starchy quality to it, due to the clean powderiness of this perfume. The aesthetics of this fragrance are spot on—the scent embodies the color white.

Like Narciso EDP, I'm picking up on violets in this, however it is not listed as a note in either fragrance (but this one is more violet candy.)

This is an easy reach, everyday type of scent to me. I am so happy I tried this, but am still deciding if a full bottle is in my future. If not, another decant will do!

Edit: I am enjoying my decant, but in the end I decided I will not repurchase.

giakerr

I purchased a gift set of this after debating another blind buy and I’m so glad I did!
The shower gel, lotion, and perfume smell a bit different from one another, each with a different emphasis on Alaïa’s layers. Shower gel is extremely musky, animalic and masculine. Body lotion is a creamy almond milk, vanilla bean (not the sweet kind) and a touch of talcum powder. The perfume is my favorite of the three. It opens with a floral note that I can’t quite identify, but smells vintage (edit: it is definitely violet!). That fades as it morphs into a heliotrope-vanilla-powder. This is when it really resembles Valentina Poudre with the “terracotta pot” almond powder, plus a hint of cherry. The drydown is a powdery vanilla musk that reminds me *slightly* of Narciso Poudree, but less floral and a softer, sweeter musk.

Alaïa Blanche is an everyday scent, office friendly with moderate sillage. As others have mentioned, this is like a lighter Hypnotic Poison suitable for warmer weather. It is slowly moving up to the top of my favorites list... I like it more every time I wear it. I hope it is never discontinued. If I ever visit Alhambra, this is what I’ll be wearing :)

kayleenanncooke

I find this to be a lot like hypnotic poison yet it is in a league of it's own. It doesn't have the thick fluffy sweet almond smell nor the spicy carraway. The opening is cherry and powder then it fades into the root beer vibe with a slight cherry makeup smell then it drys down to warm makeup powder. It's beautiful and not as sweet as HP. If you thought HP was too cloying and sweet try this one I think you will love it.

I think this works perfect for the hotter portion of fall. I live in southern California so I'm always looking for the perfect fragrance for that hotter bit of fall that isn't too heavy that it chokes me out because the hotter proportion of fall here is sometimes in the 90s and 80s. I think this is light enough for that yet it smells like fall winter fragrance.

Rtuesday

This is my current go to fragrance.

My previous everyday perfume was Narciso Poudre, however I found that it didn't have as much longevity and silage as I'd hoped. I wanted something with a bit more oomph. This perfume is it! Its very similar to my Narciso Poudre, however is a slightly sweeter and definitely longer lasting with better silage. This is a LOVE from me.

Though this perfume won't fill a room, it definitely gets noticed. I feel like it creates a lovely, milky, smooth, powdery, vanilla cloud :) though you may not be able to smell it as strongly on yourself after 2 hours, I have asked a few people who all said they could smell me from 1.5 metres away.

The opening is like a burst of marzipan/cherry, then when the fragrance settles, it is a lovely almond smell. After about 20 minutes, the vanilla & musk come through, with the musk reminding so much of my beloved Narciso Poudre.

As previously mentioned, the notes listed on Fragrantica are incorrect & need to be updated.

HelloMrsMurphy

I smell refined cherries. I love it. I just wish it had a bit more sillage and longevity.

Edit: After wearing it for a while I love this even more than before. It is great. I find it a bit similar to Hypnotic Poison but not too much. Although I like HP I like this one much more. This is also more suited for everyday use I feel, although I imagine this would also be good for going out. - But unfortunately this can't be tested much in the current situation.

Sabretoothkitten

Having receive a decent from a buddy on here I was pleasantly surprised how much I like this. I totally get what churinl says about a note similar insure...perhaps the menthol/root beer note. I find his pretty and elegant but not too serious. Heliotope and powdery vanilla with a hint of light musks. I picture a gauzy bridal veil or an ice skaters white outfit with white feathers and pearls. Not too loud projection but it's a posible will-buy for me do find it similar to both Narciso Poudre and actually Trussardi My Name . I think this is the most refined.

perfume_infatuated

This is a nice, noticeable powdery perfume. The vanilla and powdery notes of heliotrope and violet are evident, and the white flowers are there, and they are cold, but I fail to name any of them.

It's worth noting that this is more complex than the notes mentioned above. This most likely contains marzipan (an almond confection), and a tinge of incense dissolving in the musk. Unexpectedly, I smell sour cherry (If I'm not mistaken), going along a fresh green note, creating together a strange vibe that I keep smelling and not much appreciating. I guess that greeny touch is referred to as the ambiguous (solar notes) in the notes pyramid above.

There's also a tiny animalic aspect from a hint of leather. Yet, it's not challenging at all, because it's just a small hint that you forget about as it hides behind the powdery note.

All-in-all, this is really nice and classy.

Molly Smith

It reminds me of non-gourmand caramel if such a thing could exist. It's rich, heavy, sweet, but not sugary. To me it's not powdery, I'd rather compare the texture of this scent with a rich body butter. Made out of caramel. Yeah, that's it.
Stepping into a cloud from 1 spray is sufficient for this divine smell to last and last. Love!

Norah111

Umm the opening is so heavy and hot I mean hot poudree it's same to Valentino poudree . On the close after many hours of dry down it will be more cool more soft and same to narciso Rodriguez poudree . On general I smelled cosmetics poudree mixed with musc and jasmine . I like this perfume but is more mysterious , u have to wait until smell the heart of this scent . I think is good choice for winter , exactly it's fit with fur coat and elegant heels on winter nights.

Annabear

Powdery, with heliotrope pushing this into the plastic doll realm similar to Moulin Rouge and Westwood’s Boudoir.

Vanilla appears to have turned the contents into a rich caramel colour although I could not discern it specifically in the top notes or dry down. Don’t be concerned if your bottle isn’t the pristine white shown in the the marketing material.

It has low to average projection and longevity. It’s the sort of fragrance that wouldn’t offend anyone so perfectly office safe. I wore it today for the first time on a warm late autumn morning, and it was pleasant but unremarkable. I honestly struggled to get anything other than powder and rubber/plastic doll, and sprayed it again later in the afternoon to give it a second chance.

I don’t rate it, but then I’m not balloon collecting, just sharing my impressions which may help others.

ILikeToSmellNice

Understated elegance. Effortless glamour.

Signature material! It's not just the scent that I enjoy smelling on myself but also one that projects the sense of self I aspire to.

The reviews for this perfume are very accurate. I have nothing else to say. If you love Poudre type of perfumes, you will definitely love this one.

churinl

I have all three of Alaia's EDPs, and out of the three, this one is my favorite. It definitely performs much better on my skin than the other two, which are different and lovely in their own right but barely perceptible to me after 10 minutes, tops. It is unusual for me to be as fond of a sweet (approaching gourmand) scent as I am of Blanche, but I truly enjoy the vanilla and almond combo. I think it is well balanced, and each note seems to provide a check on the other notes, providing a certain restraint, and preventing it from being a "bomb" of any sort. While NR Poudree and Blanche undeniably share certain aspects, they are different enough that I feel justified having both in my collection. I feel pretty wearing this, and while I don't consider it particularly sexy, there is a sensuality in this fragrance that I can see being seductive in a very innocent way. Being a collector, I am glad to own all three Alaias, but this is the one I will definitely reach for far more often than the other two. My only disappointment is visual - I had hoped it would be a white bottle. Instead it is a clear bottle and the juice is a deep amber color. I can definitely live with that!

Edit 5/8/2019 - I can't quite put my finger on it, but there is something in this juice that calls to mind Mugler's Aura. I have a hard time with Aura and have considered putting it up to swap several times, but even though it is familiar to me somehow in Blanche, I enjoy it much more. This may turn into a love for me - I may like it even more than NR Poudree.

Donna Amethyst

I love it! Very adult, serious scent, it has something in it that old fashioned fragrances have, but not dated. It is for a "Lady", very dignified!

violetbelle

Elegant liquid powder in a gorgeous bottle. This is to me a classic, familiar, beautiful scent that makes me think of a vintage cream-scented powder that ladies would apply by puff after a bath. Everything about it is lovely.. silky-smooth and quietly sensual.

Shinder13

Bought this from large reputable department store but when I got home and opened it, I realised the colour was way darker than the tester at the store. Researched online and noted that people have reported a change in colour of the liquid in Blanche and mentioned this is due to the vanilla in the composition, which can change colour over time. However, this does not affect the actual scent of the perfume. Scent-wise, I am strangely anosmic to the top notes of the fragrance and can only smell anything after a good hour. By then all I get is vanilla and powder. Strange buy but I'll hold on to it cos I just adore the bottle.

badgerbruno

To say I have fallen in love is an understatement. The bottle is stunning and has a lovely clunky heavy gold lid and then the fragrance - boom. This is an adult, addictive version of J Lo's Glowing but much more grown up and sassy.

Staying power is incredible. I get dusty powder, vanilla, fabric softener, the works. I pray this is not discontinued.

I have NR Poudree and definitely get the similarity but this for me is closer to Glowing and Meteorites by Guerlain. Both powdery lipsticky inside of make-up bag womanly soft.

In love.

dahrling

Wow, this one is much deeper than I thought it'd be. I was expecting something way lighter, but this one has real depth. It does reminds me of Hypnotic Poison at first spray only, but this one develops differently - it's the ethereal version of it, so to speak. The powder makes all the difference, it adds a more old-fashioned and lady-like feel to it - HP for brides? Maybe. For a wedding during winter this could be perfect - especially for the party that comes after the vows and the honeymoon. It's perfect for cold weather because it's warm and pretty, feminine in every facet - it has a traditional charm once you get to know it. Love it.

Adrien02

To me this is a blonde woody-floral-musky gourmand with a powdery twist. It is totally captivating to me and I don't believe I have anything in my collection like it. I would say this would be an easy to wear, when you're just not sure what to wear scent. It makes me feel warm, comforted like some scents can make you feel. You know, the feel good scents that you always want a bottle of and not run out.

It doesn't project and seems to dissipate a bit into a skin scent after about 30 minutes or so, but that is the beauty of this type of fragrance. I don't believe it was meant to SHOUT at you, but instead, draw you into or toward itself. Very inviting, but not proactively so.

I keep seeing it in stores like TJ Maxx & Marshalls for a decent price, but passed it up as a blind buy. Time to go trolling for this baby!

Edit: Found it on Ebay! Juice is an amber color though, inside a white box.

MixedTastes

This is so lovely and so well blended.

A milky vanilla musk with a honey ‘solar’ warmth, lightest touch tuberose and a faint citrusy edge.

Develops into a soft, powdery helitrope-vanilla.

Just as good on a crisp winter’s day as on a balmy summer’s night.

Dreamy.

Sharron19

One of my favourites, sweet (but not overly), musky, powdery & comforting!

justfloral

Beautiful. Sweet but not gourmand.

powdery "floury" "sawdusty" vanilla + tuberose (essental oil not fresh flowers).

thesheppardess

Well this has been an interesting, if a little confusing, experience.
When first applied Blanche, I thought, this smells like Pierre Balmain has sent Jolie Madame into the kitchen to do some baking. I got a big wave of violet leaves and what I perceive to be aldehydes for the first 30 minutes. Only a little bit of gourmand. It wasn't until Jolie Madame got her baking into the oven that things started to improve. Finally, Madame vacated the kitchen....
leaving behind a delicious plate of vanilla almond biscuits.

MairyLou

This is divine!I tested it yesterday and I couldnt stop smelling it. I love powder scents, Valentina poudre is my top one but this also is WOW - powder power and really elegant with vanilla and white flowers behind giving it a really rich sophisticated aura! It fits to a woman entering a room and everyone is wondering how amazingly sweet but sophisticated she smells. Love it! If anyone wants to swap it please oh please message me!

kate23

It is something between Narciso Narciso and Narciso Poudree with more stingy vanilla. A little bit disappointing as imitation is obvious and nothing unique. Silage is quite strong.

Tigi

I don't know how given the comparison of different notes pyramids, but I find this to be extremely similar to Ellen Tracy Bronze. Powdery, a little dry, distinctive heliotrope, very sheer and beautiful. Parfum Blanche is a little muskier than ET's Bronze; I find myself reaching for this fragrance in the evenings right before bed as it has that cozy, relaxed, comfy and snuggled up at home feel to me. Additionally, I think the "solar notes" give this one a slightly brighter feel than Bronze has.

Fragrance: 8/10 Beautiful but not as unique as I expected.
Performance: Moderate or better. Soft sillage and projection unless you overapply.
Value: Price to quality/performance ratio is good, from my experience.

Oddly, although I become quickly anosmic to this fragrance, while I can't smell it, strangers in public have offered unsolicited compliments. I wish I could still detect what others can, other than in mysteriously-fleeting whiffs here and there seemingly out of nowhere and everywhere at once. This one reminds me strongly of Iris Ganache.

I love this one but sent her to one of my very best friends, only to later replace it because I found that I truly missed this vanilla-rich powder bomb.

Old Herbaceous

Several commenters here have noted that the "official" notes list differs from the notes listed here; it includes almond, heliotrope, vanilla, and musk. But I understand why this listing includes "solar notes", as the opening has a slightly honeyed, lemony vibe that I've smelled in other fragrances listing "solar notes", like DKNY Nectar Love. Here, it is slight and fleeting; Alaia Blanche quickly moves into powdery territory with an undertone of vanilla. It is really pretty! When its vanilla and musk notes emerge, they are soft and lovely -- as long as you apply with a light hand. I think this could overwhelm if oversprayed, as it is sweet. Not sugary, but sweet like vanilla and honey used in baking, combined with a touch of almond extract or flour. The musk is one of the nicest I've smelled, very warm and soft, and it last a long time. I can still smell it on my skin the morning after I applied this before going to bed.

Soofiya

Received it as a gift from my man and I love it
I can see why it's compared to Valentino Poudre which I also own but they're not dupes by any means.the note "powder" is truely detectable in both, but other than that powder-vanilla gene which they share,I can't find much in common
I can detect powder,non-descript floral notes and a soft veil of powdery vanilla since the very first minute of spraying it.Valentino Poudre gene is apparent in the opening part but it's more airy, less vanilla heavy in Alaia Blanche.in less than ten minutes musk shows up.it's not a cold, harsh or chemical musk, not an oily, skanky one either.I love powder and vanilla but what makes me love this perfume is it's musk which has such a magical dance on my skin that I sometimes find myself hypnotized.I can sometimes feel it's warm, animalic undertone but sometimes it feels silky and clean.
Heliotrope reigns the drydown with it's yummy almond-vanilla cookie scent but I can still can smell enough musk and a light veil of a floral accord to see it as a perfumey scent, not a totally foody one.I like it all through it's life but dry down is heavenly and comforting.
I can see that most people consider Alaia Blanche unisex but I find it very feminine, charming in a non-pretentious,elegant way and sexy, truely sexy in a nude, delicate way.it's soft and gentle yet deep.unlike some other light, nude fragrances lacking character is not a case here.it doesn't try to look complex or different,it doesn't shout at anybody but is artistically done and while it may remind us numerous other perfumes,it's actually original IMO
For me it's a year round perfume.now I'm wearing it in hot summer days and it feels right
Longevity and sillage have good ratings in fragrantica but unfortunately not on me.it becomes a skinscent in an hour and I can't smell it three hours after spraying.it's a shame as I love it and I prefer to be able to smell it like a cloud of powder around me for couple of hours.I'm new to this perfume so maybe my nose gets anosmic to it(usually this changes after a while) or maybe it performs better in cold weather
For now I can say that I like and enjoy it a lot and I'm glad to have it,though I'm not satisfied by it's strength

UnearthlyApothecary

Wow! So glad I swapped for this! What a beauty <3
This is the day to Valentina Poudre’s night
It is lighter, the white florals give it an almost tropical vibe
I find the ambrette very medicinal and masculine and heavy in Poudre
This is the softer, more feminine musky powder.
Absolutely stunning
There is a creamy gourmand sweetness here as well, my daughter said it smells like cupcakes lol
The silage is just perfect
longevity is great, could still smell it on my skin after a shower

ktyhan

opening stage is very similar to NR Poudree...drydown is fresh and milky high quality cosmetic powders.. very nicely blended.. evolves, projects and lasts.. 9/10

Artexana

I decided to blind buy this fragrance based on your reviews :) although I do like it, I need to test it on my skin. So far, on paper, this reminds me of Chanel Allure. It might be a little too strong for my nose. But I really want to give it a try and see how it changes on my skin. I'm hoping the almond comes out on me.

Update: I wore it for 6 hours and unfortunately, I was disappointed. I had high hopes for this fragrance. The musk came out on me. All I smell is sweet heavy musk. But I think it's my body chemistry. I don't do well with musks. It gave me a headache right away, but I wanted to wear it and see if it changed on me. I'm so sad because the reviews I read mentioned powder and vanilla and I really wanted to like this one.

Sevparfumaddict

Hard to find in France. Only sold in Alaia boutique. Classy almond scent. I would have call this one "nude" and not "blanche" because this one is really soft and the "nude" is too woody for me.

gardencat13

I’ve owned this for a couple of weeks now and worn it several times, but I’ve waited till now to post a review because my impressions seem so at odds with the notes posted above.
What I get is a beautiful, soft combination of powder, heliotrope, almond and vanilla with an underlying, but not at all aggressive musk.
For me, it is quite linear, and I do wish it had a bit bigger sillage and longevity but I have skin that seems to eat most scents so it’s not the only one I wish that about.
It does remind me slightly of Valentino Valentina Poudre but, thankfully, not so overpoweringly sweet and a more sophisticated and balanced blend of ingredients.
I really enjoy this scent and I’m willing to reapply a few times during the day in order to keep enjoying it.
As an added comment, my husband apparently really likes it too. Since he came in while I was writing this, I asked him how he liked the scent I was wearing now, and his response was, “ one of your best”.

raneem.1999

I totally agree with the previous review i find this so similar to poison girl, love them both <3

ola.fallah

I tried this fragrance simultaneously with poison girl from Dior, and found this "Alaïa" much better, more unique, has more interesting details in her character!
10/10

bronstein

Almost identical to the almost simultaneously released Valentina Poudre. This one's perhaps a bit lighter and therefore better suited for summer, or daytime. Which makes Valentino's offering perhaps even more feminine.

****

rola.asad

Gosh!! this is so similar to Valentia Poudre, but the powder note here is less concentrated and all in all fresher than Valentino, if somebody likes Valentina Poudre but wants something fresher or maybe a version for the hot weather, I suggest her/him this one, it is really nice.
Valentina Poudre has better sillage and longevity though!

Edit 7/1/2019:
after using this perfume for more than one year, it became one of my all-time favorites!, and I actually bought my second bottle, it's so memorable and super long-lasting, sillage is heavy, so I don't use it for day-to-day AT ALL!
But for really special occasions I don't even hesitate! you have to be a powdery-scent lover to wear this, unless that you might find it a bit overwhelming!
POWDERY & ROMANTIC .... 9/10.

rufflesbows

In a nutshell, this smells like Narciso by NR mixed with Narciso Poudree by NR without the woodiness or creaminess. I sprayed one spray on my forearm before getting in my car. First blast I smelled lots of vanilla mixed with a sharp floral. Thankfully, the sharpness disappeared pretty fast. Then, lots of powder, sweet vanilla, a bit of almond. Very feminine, a makeup powder smell. Nothing in this bring "solar" to my mind.

This perfume has great sillage and longevity! Don't let the clear bottle fool you into thinking this is a sheer light scent. Great quality perfume!

amanda-m-lewis

In the event of Azzedine Alaïa's death yesterday. I wore Blanche to commererate his passing and I made a point to spray it on my clothing as well as onto my skin; and for the first time it lasted the whole day.... After a few hours, I found that I could smell it as a skin scent when I buried my nose into my jumper.

Sadly I rarely reach for it as it's just not heavy enough on me and lacks the depth I was hoping I would acheive from it, but from the moment I apply it, I struggle to smell it on myself. So I think I may have to let it go to someone who really appreciates it.
It is such a shame as it is the one musk scent that I can tolerate,as it is very well blended and I would give anything to smell the almond or solar notes but I get nothing. In fact I cannot identify any of the other notes listed, not even the white flowers, so that is sadly disappointing. However, I do get some powderiness, of which I find is stronger in the warmer weather.

Ultimately, I think this is a great scent for those who like light spicy musks. It works well during the day or at intimate gatherings when you want to relax and take it easy. And it def would work as unisex, as it is a good balance of masculine and feminine.

lulu169

makes sense, ArtDeco, I can definitely get heliotrope and almond here

ArtDecoStyle

Actual notes listed on Alaia's website:

Top: Almond
Middle: Heliotrope
Base: Animal and musky notes, vanilla absolute

cocolover56

This reminds me, just a little, of Helicriss by Sylvaine Delacourte. The musk in this is much more pronounced in the beginning, but quickly dries down.

I'm not sure by what is referred to as 'Solar Notes' though. It seems like a Spring time day scent... like being out in a garden with sunrays beaming down... but in what pretentious way does that equate to actual notes that are solar? Is this not more of an accord? Floral and perhaps spicy notes combined to create the sensation of being in the sun? Odd note classification, Fragrantica. Odd indeed, but I must commend you for being much more knowledgeable and open minded than I am it seems.

All that aside... a beautiful scent, I love it.

This is stunning! It’s velvety smooth, creamy, milky. Very heavy on the heliotrope, can’t believe this note isn’t listed, there’s a heavy dollop of it! It’s unique, can’t think of anything like it, and suits every occasion, season, time! Adore the bottle too! Great longevity and sillage.

Rosepowdery

Smells like luxurious body cream or body oil used during the massage in fancy spa. I appreciate its uniqueness. Beautiful.

katten

What a beautiful fragrance so soft and addictive. My sister thought i was wearing hypnotic . I just love it!

I was excited to test this perfume after all the comparisons to Valentina Poudre, which I love. I don't see any fruity notes listed in the pyramid, but the initial blast I got from Alaïa Blanche was in fact some creamy fruitiness, almost like an artificial (and not so elegant) peach note that you would get on stationary as a child. The perfume mellowed down to a "sunny" (and not dusty) powdery drydown with a creamy hint. I didn't care much for it at the start but the drydown is okay, but quite faint and maybe not that interesting. It's not as elegant and comforting as Valentina Poudre, it actually has some note in the drydown that bothers me a bit, so I wouldn't purchase it for those reasons. I do however agree with some other people here that this scent is lighter and more summery than Valentina Poudre (which can feel to heavy in warm weather), and could be a good Summer option for a creamy powdery skin-scent.

Stunning fragrance. Not something you want to wear if you have a hangover. The solar notes for me translate to something sort of aquatic smelling. Loud, sweet, addictive and screams high fashion. Something to wear when you want to be noticed. Very polished. Has a bit of an edge to it. Like that it doesn't smell like everything else.

charloppe

Smooth, soft, airy, light vanilla dry down. I agree with those who recognize Valentina Poudre here but Blanche is lighter and during the first hour I get cherry? whereas I detect something like coconut in VP. If you find VP too heavy Alaia Blanche is an excellent choice. I personally prefer Valentina Poudre (or N.R. Poudree for that matter).

ANNAFRYS

Hmmm ...I have to return..respect to Alaia.
This is why... I hate the dark Alaia- black bottle.
Today I have got...a perfume in Sacks 5th Ave in Chicago and the lady gave me a sample.
I even didn;t know what it is. when I came home and I saw word ALAIA on small white box I thought ALAIA- go to garbage and just out it there without even one spray.
Well by the evening I said to myself.. Blanche ... let me see..
I went and I have sprayed on my tissue.
WOW- ok I won/t buy it.
But it is nice.
Blanche should be the one ... which should take a lead with campaign and promotion not black.
I would say it some kind of spiceness and women scent.
It;s not for a girl but it;s sthg for a woman with character.
I like it because I feel powder...but...As Alaia is an Arab...I do feel white musk in it. To me is a scent from White Musk from Abdul Samad Quraishi and sthg from Arabian Oud. It reminds me how this store have smelled when I have crossed it in Dubai.
SO here is my theory: Blanche ... has a better Arabic DNA than black Alaia. Because of the ingredient I have mentioned..This one might be consider as a modern middle eastern scent. Very similar to Abdul Samad Quraishu line from Saudi Arabia.
Agreed with previous review- it has sthg from narciso rodriguez. No doubt.

buraksrts

Smells like syrup. No.

raiza1990

This is a very nice fragrance. It smells luxurious but very soft. It reminded me very much of J by Jennifer Aniston because of the sweet musk, but this one is more elegant and it is better made,a bit more mature too, but if you liked "J", you can´t go wrong with this one.
On the beginning i get a very light sunny floral touch that i wished would last longer, but the powder soon overpowers it and almost everything else.I actually do like how the powder notes are made in this fragrance ( even though i am not a fan of powdery notes) but i wish it would be balanced by the solar notes and the white flowers.
Anyway, this is worth trying.

gritzalimaria

it's very soft and airy and vanilla-powdery skinscent. it is very strange that even though i can't smell it because it is so soft i think i'm in a cloud of vanilla and it's there everywhere around me. very delicate fragrance.

pauroj

dupe for narciso by narciso rodriguez is good but come on it has been done already

At first i thought it was just a different bottle of the original Alaia fragrance in black bottle, so i didnt bother to test it even. The original was interesting fragrance, but not something i would wear. Few weeks ago i passed through deprtment store and saw this bottle and decided to try and BOY, did i do a right thing!!! This is just such a lovely nice fragrance that it went instantly on my want list. I didnt know the notes when i tested it and im surprised it has "powdery" notes, since it does not smell anything powdery in vein of Narciso Poudre, i mean, it just doesnt smell like a powder at all. It is a delicate milky vanilla, as someone mentioned indeed it smells like a rice pudding. It is such a delicate yet a very potent fragrance at the same time. I dont know anything about "solar notes", all i smell is a delicate milky vanilla with a hint of musk. this vanilla is not an agressive vanilla bomb, which is a nice surprise.
Surprisingly potent smell and great lasting power. I enjoyed wearing it several times already and if it wouldnt be that expensive (120eur for 100ml) i would buy it instantly. Recommended!!!!

P.s. ok, it seems like the notes are incorrect indatabase, since the official website lists following notes: almond(top), heliotrope(middle), musk and vanilla (base). Well that makes sense now, it indeed smells like almond milk with one of my favorite flowers -heliotrope. This is 100%love from me and i hope adminswould change the notes.

MademoiselleMaya

After initial tests it sounded like a classy, subtle floral with a soul. Today, I used my sample globally and to my surprise it turned out to be a rather hyponotic concontion with echoes of Hypnotic Poison, Hypnose and Ange ou Demon vanilla with facets reminiscent of almonds! Beautiful, but heavier than expected and with a lot of presence! Intriguing.

Simone1

Beautiful skin scent, like some sophisticated body cream, warm and cozy, all year round.

cupcake28

This is the white skin scent I've been looking for! It is nice and soft, with a musky and milky vibe. The projection is low/moderate, but the longevity is on the short side at about 2-3 hours. It's really lovely if you are looking for a nice vanilla powdery scent topped with white florals lightly dancing in a cloud of milk. It's not too sweet and almost gets that playdough note, but never crosses the line. It has a similarity to Donna Karan Liquid Cashmere White. If you like that scent, then you will like this, but I like Alaia much more.

Sxaninha

Uuuuhhh so good ! Very good ! :D So happy I tested it because I wasn't sure.. all about the packaging... didn't catch my eye and since the black Alaia didn't make my taste I never came to this precious perfume. I loved it! It's like rice pudding mmmhh :P Reminds me Kenzo Amour

blake.lee

Smells like sweet rice pudding made with almond milk and cosmetic powder. I really like it!

littebee

My very first impression... it's a mixture of Valentina Poudree and Violet Blond qith a touch of green notes. Beautiful, classy and addictive.

Astar

It's the second fragrance with Solar notes that I have tried in the last couple of weeks - looks like it becomes a trend in perfume world. Distinctively different from the original Alaia, which was more spice, more leather, more orient. Alaia Blanche comes in gorgeous mesh bottle and strikes with warmth and not overpowering light sweetness. It develops beautifully on the skin, and throughout the whole wear remains a beautiful clean powdery scent.

ScarlettX

It's not very good in my opinion.
Terribly bitter and musky smelling.
I sense powdery notes, but it makes me feel like something is messed up with the scent. It's so strong and kind of screechy.
I don't like it at all. It makes me want to sneeze.

pinky_brit

So much better than the original which I hate.
They're a few notes missing here, the almond especially which I feel it's the star of this perfume.
It's definitely powdery but not granny powdery, more like a floral modern and sweet powdery.

settembre

You can get it at Saks.

fyre92

anyone know where to get this in the US?

lulu169

just tested it today - love at the first sniff which happens rarely to me....light soft non sweet vanilla with soft musk and kind of milky - like a vanilla milk shake. it resembles Cerruti 1881 Blanche a lot with the soft almondy vanilic heliotrope. get Cerruti fot a fragment of the Alaia price and you wont be dissapointed

Germany

Strangely addictive. It's a powdery almond vanillla perfume with a milky note. It's a white scent. A skinscent but strong . Although Paris Blanche is mainstream it falls In to niche cathegory in my opinion. It does not smell very main stream .
It's sweet but not candy sweet. More of a sensual , classy sweet or a cookie as far as sweetness and smell goes.
Almond ,vanilla& powder , plus milk sums it up !
Almost like a shortbread cookie with ground up almonds , even a hint of lemon in its opening or something citrusy. Someone said meringue ! The musk keeps it from going completely into edible gourmand cathegory and keeps it clean ,there for I would say it's a woody floral musk as suggested.
However I still don't understand the solar note.

genny17

Just received my bottle, and I love it!! It is strikingly pretty, very warm, very romantic...it really makes me think of sandy dunes, of tropical flowers, it has an undertone of sunscreen, but the most expensive one...the animalistic vibe is there from the top notes to the base, giving Alaia personality and a bold presence, the sweetness comes early on, it isn't a typical sweetness, nothing is boring or generic about Alaia...it is exotic , proper, beautiful..I don't find it overly powdery, I own Valentina Poudre which is a lot more powdery to my nose...the heart is more floral, I thought I detected candied violets, not sure..I think of a sun drenched house with white walls...nice creation
I asked my husband what he thought, he doesn't seem to know!!
It has a bit of Hypnotic Poison sensuelle ' S vibe..but I find it better ...for my taste, what a great scent!!
It is like a clean scent with a dirty undertone, real unique.!!

Arlene-Beatrix

Powdery white floral scent, not bad, not exceptionally good either. I like it, but it's not in my style.

Solar Girl

This was a nice surprise! Strong and yet feminine, simple and warm but powerful.
Solar notes (whatever they are) give such a warmth to this composition. I smell amber, honey, vanila... like expensive suntan oil or lotion. But it is not another beach summer fragrance!
The gorgeous Musk adds the super warm, sexy, skin, almost animalic element.
The white flowers make it fresh like spring, and at the end the powder gives it another dimension of warmth, but it is the winter warming coziness.

This is one comforting, rich scent. It is deep and complex, but its nature is simple and sooo feminine. Suitable for all seasons, it can fit into summer happy vibes same as it can be warm winter blanket.

It is not trivial evet hough there are many similar. But this one somehow beat them all for at least a class.

Kolchan

I found a tester bottle of this on the bottom shelf in one of the department stores. It stood among some celebrity perfumes. There was not even a promotion of the new scent, very bizarre.

Now onto the fragrance, this is a powder bomb to me, even more powdery, than flankers by Valentino and Narciso Rodriguez.
In my opinion, Marie Salamagne put heliotrope really generously into the composition, because it gives you that almond powder type of smell. This accord with a significant amount of baking vanilla in the base makes the perfume.

On my skin the fragrance evokes a feeling of a delicious meringue sprinkled with some almonds. Very gourmand and exceptionally sweet!
