Madera de Naranjo by Angel Schlesser is a Woody Aromatic fragrance for men. Madera de Naranjo was launched in 2011. Top notes are Amalfi Lemon, Orange and Mandarin Orange; middle notes are Petitgrain, Mint and Anise; base notes are oak moss, Virginia Cedar, Woodsy Notes and Patchouli.

Angel Schlesser in cooperation with the house of Idesa Parfums launches two new fragrances inspired by orange in June 2011. The fragrances are Flor de Naranjo and Madera de Naranjo. They belong to the collection Selection de Memoires, which also includes fragrances from 2007 Esprit de Gingembre Pour Homme and Esprit de Gingembre Pour Femme, as well as fragrances from 2009 Ambre Frais Femme and Ambre Frais Homme.

Edition for men Madera de Naranjo starts with luminous citruses – lemon, mandarin and Fiji orange. A heart of this composition accentuates luminous green notes of mint, anise and petit grain, while a base incorporates cedar, patchouli, orange tree and oak moss. Available as 50, 100 and 150 ml EDT.

More than just a citrus. Madera de Naranjo is a classy composition in the same vein as Hermes' Concentre d'Orange Verte and YSL's Pour Homme, ( the re-release edition. ) I actually find this one to be a hybrid of these two, but with less of that distinct animalic accord, the YSL carries. I honestly can't think of a better classic citrus fragrance for a man, than this. This is full of tranquility, at the same time effortless and chic. An uplifting blend of ripe lemons and oranges, sharp green bitter leaves, crushed orange tree branches, with just the right amount of oakmoss and patchouli to complement the entire composition in the most timeless and pleasant way.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Back to share more enthusiasm for this cologne. I don't dare visit Spain this summer so I'm liberally spraying all my Spanish favorites, drinking cava, and making do. If you're in the EU, I highly recommend shipping this into your country if the shipping cost is reasonable. I see 100ml online for under 15E - a very good value. It's transparent, brightening yet calming, timeless and fun.

Mystères du Château de Dé

Chic, simple but complete, brightens mood yet relaxing, comforting. Reminds me of those huge bottles of Spanish colonia splash waters, but Naranjo is a true EDT with longevity. High value at low cost.

Palosanto

This smells somehow like a cologne version of Declaration de Cartier, slightly more "green" and with a only a hint of cardamom and very little, if any, cummin (it may be anise playing tricks to my nose). It retains a good dose of a woodsy and bitter orange throughout the development (the reference to "madera de naranjo"/"orange tree wood" is perfect: it does smell like that). It is really beautiful, manly and a prime example of a citric fragrance beautifully executed.

It smells classy and understated, has a 6/8 hour lasting power -but you can still detect it in your skin by the 12th hour- and radiates quite loudly on the first 2 or 3 hours, becoming more of a skin scent afterwards,

A must buy for me.

Regards to all.

For casual use. Day. Spring/Summer.

Orange tree essence. Not more not less. Very linear scent. Citrusy. Very fresh at the beggining, remains without changes during first minutes. For hot days, it is sharp fress cologne, with a decent performance in this "citrusy" range of scent.
Nothing special in my opinion, for dayly use as it cost less than 20€/100ml.

Addendum: now wearing this fragrance in the warm, late months of spring. This is a superb, well-balanced fragrance. The initial burst of citrus and mint settles into a woodsy, expressed orange accord that projects moderately and lasts 3-4 hours. Great stuff!

With a warm summer like day in winter, I thought I would break out this most summery of fragrances. I picked this up in Barcelona last year and have only worn it infrequently, it being truly a scent suited to summer temps. We've had a lovely two-day stretch of warm weather and I thought I would give MdN a go.

Initial spray unleashes a deep and complex citrusy component that is accompanied fairly quickly by the subtle mint and anise notes. These latter notes provide a structural foundation to the citrus and help carry it through the dry down. Sillage and longevity are both moderate at best but the scent is so uplifting that it's worth refreshing every few hours. This is a self-assured masculine fragrance best suited for afternoons strolling around in the sun.

leducdenemours

One of my new summer fragrances, that I bought in Spain sometime last year. Not sure about how available this might be in the rest of Europe/rest of the World, but worth investigating for the experience of a wonderfully fresh citrus-with-a-hint-of-mint-and-anise wave, as it's first sprayed on. Despite the "simple" or standard formula of ingredients, it does come across as classy and refined, not cheap at all. It reminds me a hint of "Green Water" by Jacques Fath, although with a stronger presence of the lemon/lime/neroli combo.
As it was mentioned before, sillage and longevity are on the discreet to moderate side, having to top it up every two to three hours. However, once it's done, the instant is precious. Delicious.

I really love Anise note so when I've found this one for such a nice price I took it without doubts. This could be a cool summer fragrance. It's all about dry citrus notes and fresh wood. But sillage is too soft for me and longevity is weak as well, lasts about one hour. Well, it's pleasant and fresh scent good for everyday using. Doesn't smell cheap, such a suprise! Haha

I have been searching for an ideal summer fragrance which is sharpish and different since yves st laurent discontinued the first unisex cologne ,which was called eau libre in a green and silver bottle at least 15 years ago, maybe longer.
I found this Angel Schlesser in Spain a month ago and it is the nearest i will get to finding my beloved Yves St Laurent.
havent really tried this new fragrance as the summer hasnt arrived yet but I cant wait as on testing it had just the right amount of sharpness without being too over the top citrus as is the case with a lot of summer colognes.

So far 8 out of 10

I will be interested to see anyone else's opinion and also if anyone remembers eau libre??
