Brit Rhythm for Him Intense by Burberry is a Leather fragrance for men. Brit Rhythm for Him Intense was launched in 2015. The nose behind this fragrance is Dominique Ropion. Top notes are Pepper, Raspberry, Fig, Sage, Wormwood, Cumin and Bergamot; middle notes are Mint, Amber, Lavender, Patchouli and Basil; base notes are Leather, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Cashmere Wood, Guaiac Wood, Coumarin and Sandalwood.

Burberry introduced the fragrant pair inspired by the British rock scene; Brit Rhythm for Him was launched first in September 2013., followed by the feminine edition Brit Rhythm for Her in 2014. In February 2015, new flankers of the fragrances are coming out - Brit Rhythm for Him Intense and Brit Rhythm for Her Floral.

Brit Rhythm for Him Intense is announced as a more masculine edition with reinforced leather accents. It opens with accords of sage, pepper, wormwood, peppermint and caraway. The heart includes intense notes of patchouli, amber and leather, placed on the woody base of guaiac wood, tonka and cashmere. It is available as 90 ml Eau de Toilette Intense.

Phresh Man

there's a fragrance shop in the mall near my house that carries discontinued items and I bought all 6 of their bottles! This scent is so deep and complex YET it's so rich in notes that blend together so well!
This could easily be considered a niche type scent! This woman I work with told me her man couldn't leave the house smelling like this lol

House Adams

@SavageKing…

In a good or bad way??

And was it a direct application to the area?

SavageKing

This made my balls grow

Lauren_Trouble

Unfortunately this one didn't work for me. Sharp pepper/cumin with leather, fruit & dry woods.

magneticdrydown

Found this at my parents house. My dad had a few perfumes, he probably bought some cheapies over the years.
He passed away last summer and as i was smelling his old perfumes, this stood out to me as the best one.
I use it sparingly as it is discontinued and it kind of of reminds me of him.

in the last few months i managed to find a regular burberry brit rhythm bottle online. which also smells really good, but more sweet and definitely smells nothing like the intense.

ahsif

A great one from Burberry, I wear this only every couple of months but whenever I do, I enjoy it immensely!

PARIS, A RAINCOAT AND A DRY MARTINI

Paris ... Already some time ago I lost interest in the tourist Paris, the Paris of the Champs Elysées, the Eiffel Tower, and the Galeries Lafayette. I like to breathe the Montmartre air, walk through its narrow streets full of history, and sip a few drinks in those bars that still reverberate the libertarian thinking of the 20s and the 30s. I mean places like "Closerie des Lilas" and "Harry's New York Bar ". I miss those moments when, by myself or with my girlfriend, I drank a cold Alsatian beer to fight the night heat, or maybe a Dry Martini with absinthe to warm my raincoat on rainy dusk. I still hope to spend long hours there, and maybe one day I will come across the ghost of Hemingway and we will have Dry Martini together. I will not complain if Scott Fitzgerald, James Joyce, Henry Miller, Oscar Wilde, or even Toulouse-Lautrec and Charles Aznavour also join in. The “lost generation” - a term coined by the promoter of this XXth century movement, the writer Gertrude Stein - did not hesitate to meet for lively parties, full of characters that represented the Parisian madness, like the beautiful Kiki de Montparnasse. Also were not missed long conversations soaked by absinthe and Dry Martini cocktails.
The Dry Martini recipe comes with different amounts of vermouth and gin. For some, the measure is fifty-fifty, that is, the dose of gin used is the same as that of vermouth. Others already say that the real (perhaps the perfect) Dry Martini has to have more vermouth than gin. Others like the gin to completely drown the vermouth. That was Ernest Hemingway's preference. For him, the vermouth should be nothing more than the shadow of the Martini bottle over the glass full of gin. And should it be beaten or just stirred? Believing in the best-known spy in the world and his distinctive taste, James Bond always asks for his Dry Martini beaten and never stirred.
I still prefer my Dry Martini seasoned with absinthe. I think its herbal touch is indispensable. The aroma is divine. I think it would be an excellent inspiration to create a perfume ... or does it already exist?

Brit Rhythm for Him Intense ?
or Dry Martini and Absinth by Burberry ?

The absinth fresh opening with artemisia/absinth, vermouth, cumin, and pepper gives me the vibe of a very nice bittersweet glass of vermouth and gin on the rocks. By adding a couple of mint leaves... it becomes just delicious!
Opening aside, this perfume stands for me as a leather, tonka, and wood blending, with those notes being easily identifiable, after the Dry Martini boozy top accord.
The ambery leather and cashmere wood notes are very present but are soft and tamed. I classify this essence as very aromatic, very versatile, and quite easy to wear. The initial minty fresh and bittersweet absinthe and vermouth impression make way for a refined mildly sweet drydown influenced by vanilla and tonka notes.
This Intense version is better and richer than the regular Brit Rhythm. However, it is not really groundbreaking or even new for the perfume market. I have seen reviewers claiming this perfume to be similar to Black Afgano, Spice Bomb, 1 Million, La Nuit de L'Homme, Charriol Black, CH Men, Mercedes Benz Intense, Eros, Zino, Egoiste, and fifty other colognes besides the original Brit Rhythm. Of course, it does not make any sense. That's the issue with a mainstream fragrance, even if a good one. It looks similar an all bunch of fragrances but it is equal to none.... but similar to Black Afgano? good gracious!
In my skin, the perfume lasts between 7 and 8 hours, it projects for 2 hours, and its sillage has a top figure of about 5 feet. I would say it is slightly above average in what performance is concerned.
It is a somewhat mainstream perfume, very suitable for a huge range of situations and just not suitable for hot summer days and working out.
The bottle is very imaginative and designed with very good taste. It stands out on any shelf.
in my opinion, it's probably the best Burberry along with London.

How can I measure this fashionable Dry Martini with Absinthe?
___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___ ___
- Opening: 9.0 (herbal fresh with vermouth and spices)
- DryDown: 8.0 (leather and wood)
- Longevity: 8.0 (3 sprays can last up to 8 hours)
- Sillage: 7.0 (up to 5 feet with 3 sprays; it projects for 2.0 hours)
- Uniqueness: 8.0 (It has its own individuality sustained by the boozy opening accord. On the other hand it's a bit mainstream for the remaining development)
- Usability: 9.0 (Almost a four seasons fragrance for outdoors or indoors, day or night; avoid the hot summer days)
- Versatility: 8.5 (Excellent for a wide number of occasions and great for the office and general daily wear. Don't use it in the gym or on the beach)
- Compliments: 7.5 (You will smell very good to everybody, but nobody will whistle at you due to the scent)
- Quality: 9.0 (above-average quality ingredients, good flask, nice sprayer)
- Presentation: 9.0 (very good presentation, in my opinion, although a bit feminine; If you display it in the toilet, your wife will accept it....the Burberry pattern does wonders)
- Price: 9.5 (EdT Intense, 100 ml non-tester for € 22.00, a bargain)

- between 8 and 9 = recommended;

Recommendation: This is a top mainstream fragrance with the added bonus of a (dear to me) boozy opening. I never care much about mainstream fragrances, but if you are looking for a non-obtrusive fragrance to use every day, I do recommend this one.
Blind buy? Why not for this price.

Music: Pink Martini - "Bolero"

Cinnabomb

A risky blind buy that paid off!
Love at first sniff for me, which is a great relief after Burberry blind buy misfires with Mr. EDP and the original Brit, neither of which I can tolerate at all.
Peppery, slightly sharp opening with a (not too) sweet floral accord. I don't get any raspberry, which is a win in my book. Settles down quickly to a spicy, woody coccoon with just the right level of background herbaceousness for a freshness to temper the spice somewhat. Not at all immature, it's a refined fragrance that would be perfect for formal occasions.
I can see why some might not be so keen on this fragrance. It's different with some very interesting notes... but I think in general it wouldn't offend most people. It certainly is powerful - a single spray on one wrist is enough to give me a lasting little scent bubble that has easily overtaken the Eternity Flame I put on this morning.
Really pleased I took the chance on Rhythm Intense. Absolutely love it!

Edit: Having worn this for a couple of days now I can sense a real link to Burberry London DNA. I think it could easily be a flanker. Performance is good, and the mint is becoming more prominent, but confusingly I'm now perceiving a coconut note. Disappointed to discover that Rhythm Intense is discontinued. Backup bottle purchased.

Sartre1963

Peppery and fruity-minty with cashmere off of my skin. A very nice casual night-out scent that is also office safe. BRI has decent projection and performance. Is it the best fragrance ever? No, but for me, it is worth keeping in my collection.

Afc_Croatian

3 Years ago, before I knew about discounter websites, I was on a date at the mall and we walked into the fragrance store, and I chose this fragrance because apparently it was a hit. I paid $80 for an 100ml bottle.

Burberry Brit Rhythym Intense is a unique fragrance. In my 80+ collection, I can't compare this to anything else.
The raspberry and pepper are very pleasing, along with the mint and bergamot, it gives off an aromatic spicy pepper bomb with deep fruits for the drydown that stays complimented with the pepper.

After an hour, I don't pick up on much different notes, probably just the leather and sandalwood, but in all honesty, I wouldn't know what I was saying if I didn't see the notes breakdown.

Overall this is very pleasant and different, I would give it a 7.5/10. The BIGGEST pushback I must give on this fragrance is the bottle itself. The inside metal lining started to chip off and now there are bits of metal in the damn thing...

edifier

If Brit Rhythm is a young rock-n-roller in his leather jacket, this is what his music manager brother would wear. There is a slight gasoline note from the dry woods reminiscent of Dior Fahrenheit and Gucci Guilty Absolute. It renders the leather accord much drier than that of Brit Rhythm. I prefer the sweet leather and youthful vibe of Brit Rhythm, but I see the appeal of Intense which is more serious and dressier. At their discounted prices, you cannot go wrong with either.

Jwalf

Nice if you live in a cold climate. The mint and tonka bean just come off too strong in humid environments.

marymary28116

amazing perfume, long lasting and very strong. love this, will purchase again.

hatnis

When it says intense, it truly MEANS intense. NEVER wear this during the summer EVER. This is among the strongest perfumes i have ever smelled in my life, it's a smell that does not go away. Do not randomly spray this in a room where either you or others are even if its just to get a feeling for what it smells like.

Regarding the smell, it's hard for most to pull off. It's a very clawing and unisex-like scent, although to me it leans more female. Problem with (cheaper) designer fragrances with a lot of notes is they usually don't blend that well together. The only notes that are easy to pick up from this is Lavender, Fig and Mint. It doesn't smell much woody or aromatic, to me it is not a safe blind buy.

Only pick this scent up if you're youthful, not scared to smell different and know what you're getting yourself into. A lot of females really like this but you're gonna have to stand out with it urself which might be a challenge; as the scent can be very headache inducing for some.

leoj.a

Absolutely incredible, very unique and powerfull, great performance. Best smell i have ever experienced.

a2zbeats

One of my absolute go-tos for the wintertime. This smells way different from any other fragrance I've tried. Works phenomenally as a top layer for more chocolate/rich colognes, gives a nice spicy woodiness. Stands well on its own as a fall fragrance too. Love the smokiness, fruitiness and woodiness. It projects well and lasts forever, I only need 1 spray on my chest and I'm good. I always get compliments when wearing it.

9.5/10

Stoopid Phresh

This Smells exactly like Kouros Silver by YSL, I have both...this is more dense but its 95% the same scent profile 👌🏾

ahsif

This stuff is great. I use it mostly on gloomy days.. rainy days.. it works so perfectly. I do overspray but it oh boy this has a great presence and leave a great silage! smells amazing too

on hotter days, lesser sprays work better.

overall 9/10

I love it

kunal vatyani

If you love woody, fruity, sweet, somewhat spicy fragrances - go for it. I apply it during winter nights and absolutely love it. I went at my mother-in-law's place to pick up my wife and received a compliment from my wife. She told me, she could smell it all the while and it's delicious.

oocolognee

I had this sitting, basically unused for 4 years… now I spray it on me and I absolutely love it. Very strong opening, but damn I really enjoy it when it cools down. I never let it sit long before, very different than anything else I’ve smelt or have. Cannot call myself a Connoisseur and cannot really pick up different notes, but I definitely get a bit of raspberry, leather and pepper. sage has become apparent to me now and very clearly so.

I don’t (can’t!) wear this enough!! So surprisingly delicious.

robertandsheilaburke

I wore this one to walk around in London and every time my body heat rose going through the underground, I would smell it. I kept thinking to myself that EVERYONE in London wears this one, but it was me. The scent lasts and lasts! it is very unique and a lovely scent. The fig really stands out to me with the nice sweetness of the raspberry. The dry down is all the things that work well in a winter fragrance., The vanilla works well with all the other notes listed here. Don't worry about the leather as a primary note, the vanilla takes center stage with the sandalwood just underneath. Beautiful fragrance and very unique from opening to a familiar WARM dry down. In the cold, you can go heavy on the trigger, but if it is warmer, be careful, this will dominate a room. I would buy another one if I ran out!

Helmi310

When I spray. The smell is unique. Its not just sweet like normal fragrance in the market. Love it

gospodinov_s

There is a lot of things in this bottle and the British quality makes it work. The only personal complain is the chrome - metal feeling that pops out, as the bottle suggest. This reminds me of l'eau majeure d'issey Miyake , that IMO, is quite unstable formula of synthetic and natural additives ... But here everything ist "well cooked" and in control , at least you do not overspray it and the day is hotter than usual. Well done ! I ' ve cached only 50ml bottle ... that was left on the shelf in 2022.

Aslanyus

Very underrated it is surprisingly very good.
Fruity leathery and powdery fragrance.
It is long lasting fragrance.
Other than bottle design everything is good about this fragrance great value for money worth buying
10/9
1- because of bottle design very cheap looking bottle makes this fragrance unnoticeable in store.
I think if the bottle design would be good quality this fragrance would be more popular

a_c_thompson

I'm my opinion, this is THE most underrated fragrance out there. People talk about Burberry like London (and maybe Touch) are the only good fragrances the house ever produced. I like London and Touch (and others from the house as well) but this blows them out of the water. And it rarely gets talked about.
It smells phenomenal. It performs great. And it's different enough to have you smelling unique, but it's familiar enough to still be a guaranteed like... in my opinion.

HollywoodNovaBaby

Just wanted to say to those getting heavy rose and powder, Burberry for him and Burberry for men are two different things but the bottles look similar. Men is rose.

Finerthngsinlife

This is probably one of the best cheapie i bought. I love the smell of it and it performs very well. It is underrated fragrance because it sells cheap but there is a lot going on here and it is high quality. However you have to really like the smell of main note Absinthe Artemisia Wormwood. So it is better to test first

prutarius

If you can find this for ~$30, grab it. There's a pretty good performance / scent / price balance. In very high heat, the scent might be cloying. But if you're in climate controlled environments, then you should be good to go.

Thnd

Smells like Axe Cookies & Leather to me !

smellsbells

didnt realize i had this in my collection- great for the office or warmer climates- fresh and good lasting power. Not quite aquatic but i get light amber/tonka with a nice fig/sage upper end.

TheAliGonzo

I feel like the top notes of fig, cumin, etc mixing with the guaiac wood and leather of the base give the opening an animalic effect..almost like an oud. It's reminiscent of the indolic jasmine/oud opening of my Thierry Mugler Oud Majestieux ...even more so because of the amber...but like someone else mentioned, this completely changes into this warm, amber/vanilla combo in the drydown. I have a modest collection of ouds and Muglers..I feel like if I smelled this without seeing the bottle, I would feel as if it were right at home betwixt them. I am sincerely surprised to be getting this kind of scent profile from Burberry, especially for what I paid. A total sleeper hit! My only regret is not getting the full size.

parallelstream

I was a little worried after I ordered this that it was going to be too sort of smoky or leathery, just based on how much the reviews talked about the leather note. I can confidently say that my fear was unfounded because this is a very pleasing fragrance. There's a great balance of fresh notes (raspberry, fig, mint, etc.) to heavier notes like the leather, tonka, and pepper.

Very pleasing and, like everyone else has said here, masculine. My wife loves this stuff. She thinks it's modern enough that it doesn't feel out of place on a younger man like me, but is still attractive in an older-fashioned-man sort of way. Performance is also not an issue for me at all. It projects very well for a good 3 hours and it lasts around 7 hours on me.

On top of all that, the presentation is also great. I didn't pay very much at all for it, either. It's very affordable on sites like Gift Express and Foreverlux. Not disappointed at all in this release.

tumiknows

I love this fragrance. Just 3 or 4 sprays on your body and you're good to go. The woody and fresh scents hit you immediately after applying the perfume. Then the sage and mint come through. The woody, vanilla and bergamot notes stay with you throughout the day. This is undoubtedly a masculine fragrance and very classy - very British.

Age-wise: I think this perfume is better suited to grown up men - from guys in their 30s and upwards.
Season(s): I think you can safely wear this fragrance anytime of the year. However, I think it is better suited for the Autumn and Winter.
Time of day: You can wear this anytime of the day. However, I also think that this is better suited as part of one's night game.

Rating: I give Burberry Brit a solid 7.5/10.

Properly Disheveled

Smooth, rich, and deep. Leather, tonka, and woods. Very masculine. Great value that projects just enough and really lasts. Definitely more suited for fall and winter.

jayo4K

Blind buy, but from initial spray I regretted it. This smells eerily similar to Zegna Forte to my nose, however they don't share many notes. I think it may be the tonka bean note that is so similar, and it makes me nauseous so I can't wear this. It was only $18 so I guess it's not that much of a waste.

bintTapputi

I think that it's overall more complex than the other Brit's I've tried and it attempts to be more interesting, but overall it's another disappointment for me. I really like Burberry, nostalgically, but the Brit line for men seems to really be a miss. I'm sure there are men that can make this work, but really it's not my taste. Very artificially leathery with some kind of synthetic musky/woody vibe under it all which I find off putting. 4.5/10

MatureWhiteCollar

I blind bought this as my one and only exposure to the Burberry brand. No regrets. It was inexpensive and it smells great. The note tree is pretty extensive and I'd be lying if I said I could pick out individual notes. But the overall smell is understated and classy. I'd say versatility is the strong point for this one. I can see this day or night, at the office or the gym. It's just not offensive.

As for performance, I disagree with the ratings here on Fragrantica. This is not a strong performer. Longevity and sillage are both moderate. Adequate but moderate. But I don't consider that a bad thing at all. Moderate performers are hard to over spray. You're not going to gag a room with this stuff.

As for age, I consider this a grown up product for adults so, guys out of college and in the work force. For weather, I can see this any time of year in almost any temp.

Overall, I really like it and I'd buy it again. Far from my favorite but a really safe dumb reach at a really affordable price. Nice bottle too.

iconoclast

At last! A fragrance that deserves its "Intense" moniker!

A sultry version of the regular Burberry Brit Rhythm with amped up leather notes and toned down citrusy notes, but sufficiently different to have both in your collection. Long lasting and virile but less versatile than the regular one. Bottle is one of the best looking in the entire industry. I'm not sure whether i prefer the regular fresher one or this more sensual take as they are both equally brilliant. Highly recommended.

chiragh

the original is nowhere same as intense ..

i like it but just wish it lasts longer .

lespritz.1

It doesn't smell like Dylan Blue or Mr Burberry...I get Davidoff The Game or even Kenzo Jungle. Each shares a note with this fragrance(Juniper berries & Cedar, respectively). Smells a whisper cheap, generic, and the opening is extremely close to Azzaro's Visit...and it and this both share cardamom, cedar, incense...overall like but not love. Forgettable, meh blind buy. Also smells like Roberto Cavalli's Uomo...both share cedar, patchouli & Tonka bean, lmao.
I paid a mere $19.99 for a 50ml...prolly all its worth at most...wouldn't replenish when gone.

Knows2Nose

I don’t have this anymore but when I did I got crazy compliments from girls. Threw me off because I thought it was way too harsh and leathery, but it just goes to show how different genders’ noses are. I think the masculinity of BBRI is what attracts women so much, rather than the scent itself. Considering it for my next purchase...

actor33

So beautiful. After almost 5 years I realized that it's getting hyped slowly. I think the name of this fragrance is a disadvantage for this scent. I hate flanker's flanker's names. So long and people who are not interested the original one don't care the scents that continue the line. Hugo Boss also makes this mistake all the time!

This fragrance is lit especially when you wore a leather jacket in cold weather nights. The blending of leather, raspberry and fig is just so freaking sexy!

Pawly

I got this as a present, which I absolutely hate, because perfumes are literally the worst thing to get me. I own too many and the ones I want are usually niche or just unusual.
Anyway, this does smell good but personally, I own stuff that I‘ll probably wear more often.
The good thing about this is that it‘s fairly cheap to get. It‘s a safe blind buy but really, you don‘t even have to blind buy this because almost every store with a small perfume selection has this. It‘s versatile and works for basically any occasion, you won‘t really go wrong with it. Burberry always impresses me with it‘s mostly generic but yet good perfumes!
The problem for me personally is that I just own too many different ones and this one doesn‘t really stick out of the crowd. I‘ve got a few to wear when I can‘t decide on anything, but this one.. eh, it‘s kind of falling behind, which is sad because it‘s certainly not a bad fragrance!
If you need one for any occasion and don‘t have one yet - go with it! It‘s not as popular as Bleu de Chanel or Dior Sauvage, which is great! But if you‘re looking for something more special and less generic, you might have to look for something else.
My favorite Burberry perfume will always be Touch! I do actually wear that one quite often.

Frack

There are two stages with this fragrance.
The opening and the first 2-3 hours there is a lot going on, like 2-3 scents at once. Like it can't decide what to smell. But it's not unpleasant at all. Green and spicy. Herbs. The sillage of the opening is pretty heavey.
After 3-4 hours there is a totally different smell.
Warm vanilla, amber, and wood. Smooth. The sillage of the dry down are weak.
Both the opening and the dry down are pleasant, and if you can get this fragrance on sale, try it.
To me, the dry down is this parfume's treasure.

Edit
---------
The longevity of top note: 2-3 hours
The longevity of base note: 6-8 hours

The sillage of top note: Moderate to heavy
The sillage of base note: Soft

teoteddy1

Seeing all the good reviews, I am going out on a limb on this one. It is not a bad smell, but I detect some clashing notes, in my opinion. Raspberry (not one of my favorite) , tonka, leather, fig and cashmere wood plot together to give me a faintly fecal smell, that I can't get over, no matter how many times I tell myself I should absolutely love this if public opinion is anything to go by. I am still on the fence on this one.

moondawn

I'm pleased to say that it fully satisfied my expectations and I actually dare to say it would be good blind buy for anyone because of what it represents. yes, it's nothing groundbreaking, nothing special, nothing new on a market like someone already said, but the thing is, every man needs something like this on his shelf.

it doesn't have to be BR Intense, but you just have to own at least one reliable, pleasant and good performing fragrance for occasions you aren't sure what to wear. classic doesn't necessarily mean boring and mass appealing doesn't necessarily mean generic. is it a crime when vast majority of people actually like how you smell? does every fragrance have to be "special" and have it's targeted group of people or ambient? there's nothing insulting in calling this your everyday or dumb reach fragrance. it's suitable for most of your errands and will stay with you as long as you need it to stay.

so yeah... great buy.

fanzypants

Dang. Initially I thought it was a mix of azzaro visit and mont blan emblem. Upon wearing it for a few days I get a very interesting dry down similar to 1 million.

This smells most similar to the original. It opened much more woodsy and on my skin musty. This is a good thing if you like fragrances like burberry London, english laundry windsor, spicebomb. If you didn't like the original because it was linear tonka and leather, this dries down to that but takes you on a great trip before getting there. Sweet spicy and woody until it gets to the tonka n leather.

I think it may be in my top 5 cool weather fragrances. I didn't even like it the first time I tried but it's now a definite favourite.

gabiborza

Vrey pleasant fragrance! It opens up strong and spicy, then it dries down to a bitter sweet leathery scent. Good performance too! Overall great scent for a really good price!

Molko

It's funny and weird this is the cheapest perfume in my wardrobe, I find a bit average and I dont like it particularly, but everybody loves it on me, when I wear the girls/women go crazy, comment that how great my smell, I always get compliments :) I think I'll buy another bottle :D It's easy to wear, enough fresh but not sporty and not too masculine on me, so good for everyday. Today I used with Al Haramain 212 perfume oil and it was more intense and sexy.

carlosalbertoandradecruz

The fresh opening with absinth, cumin and pepper notes gives me a vibe of a very nice bittersweet glass of Cinzano on the rocks and with a couple of mint leaves... Delicious!
Opening aside, this perfume stands for me as a patchouli, leather, tonka, amber and woods blending, with those notes being easily identifiable, after the vermouth boozy top accord.
The ambery leather and cashmere notes are very present but are soft and well behaved, helping my little grey cells to classify this essence as very aromatic, very versatile and easy to wear. The initial minty fresh and bittersweet vermouth impression makes way for a refined mildly sweet drydown influenced by vanilla and tonka notes.
This Intense version is better and richer than the regular Brit Rhythm. However, it is not really groundbreaking or even new for the perfume market. I have seen reviewers claiming this perfume to be similar to Black Afgano, Spice Bomb, 1 million, La Nuit de L'Homme, Charriol Black, CH Men, Mercedes Benz Intense, Eros, Zino and Egoiste, and fifty others colognes besides the original Brit Rhythm. Of course it does not make any sense. That's the issue with a mainstream perfume. It looks similar an all bunch of fragrances but it is equal to none.... but similar to Black Afgano?
In my skin, the perfume lasts between 7 and 8 hours, it projects for 90~100 minutes and its sillage has a top figure of about 5 feet. I would say it is slightly above average in what performance is concerned.
It is a somewhat mainstream perfume, very suitable for a huge range of situations and just not suitable for hot summer days and work out.
The bottle is very imaginative and designed with very good taste. It stands out in any shelf. It's way different from the Touch strange bottle.
This one and London are probably the best Burberry perfumes in my opinion.

Keep your scent high!

The name doesn't lie. The opening is extremely intense with a rush of pepper and wormwood, which is rated extremely low on the scent profile for some reason. After, it goes through an aromatic stage (most notably mint and sage), with tonka and a sharp leather accord guiding it throughout. Finally, the sweetness of the vanilla breaks through the piquant barrier of the fragrance in the drydown. I like this one but it's easy to overdo it. One spray does the job.

Update: I gave this one another try last night and decided to spray it on my shirt as well. The difference between the scent on my wrist and shirt was like night and day. On fabric, it lost most of its harshness and I was able to pick up smooth raspberry and leather notes. Much more enjoyable

Brit Rhythm Intense Superb Scent

SOTD: Burberry Brit Rhythm for Him Intense: As of 01/13/19

Opening is liking walking in a forest surrounded by pine needles ( which i scent from the guaiac wood, and mint) with a hint of spice, I detected the leather, pepper, vanilla, tonka bean and raspberry. I love the scent, no hint of Spicebomb DNA to be honest to my nose. Is just a superb and gorgeous scent to my nose. This is new favorite Burberry fragrance, the second is London. Is a must have

My office SOTD (Scent of the Day) Burberry Brit Rhythm Intense for Him EDT: As of 03/15/19, A 2nd wearing of this fragrance, I oversprayed too much of this scent in a office setting. The projection was around 2-3 hrs and longevity/performance was beastly due to oversprayed around 12+ hrs, lesson learned spray light on this fragrance probably 4-6 sprays. To me is still a awesome and superb fragrance my nose still detect the tonka bea, vanilla, leather, patchouli and amber. Is a sweet leathery scent with vibe of woody notes, it's built for the fall/winter seasons. My overall score is still the same 8.5 out of 10. It has the A&F First Instinct vibe is more suited for the younger gents. A must get to any collection

I got this and Sauvage by Dior for my husband this past Christmas. I literally paid $100 more for the Dior best seller, and he has absolutely fallen in love with the Burberry. He wears it every day. I like it on him as well. I feels modern and a bit complex. I've noticed that he is quite partial to leather, tonka, and Guaiac wood. I've also noticed that he is more fond of the refined, usable "English" scents as opposed to the bolder "French or Italian" ones.

Smellwise

I like this fragrance so much.. its smooth, not overbearing, and yet the smell lingers very long and project quite good.. after few hours it dry down to sweet leathery scent that reminds me of ch men.. similar vibe.. not the exact smell.. performance is above average.. very2 good indeed.. from where im from its summer all year.. i worn it to the office with limited sprays.. it worked well..

This thing deserves much more attention then it gets. Where should I start...

The bottle itself is a pure masterpiece... heavy, robust, on the side looks like mercury under smoke glass.

And the scent? I think it's just beautiful. Ok...yess, this is not a scent made to stir up the perfume community...it's not a niche scent, but it's a very, VERY pleasant and really well made gem. In the beginning I get some strange chocolate-coconut vibe however that's not in the pyramid, but definitely recognizable. After 20-30 minutes it transforms to a less fruity, rather sweet scent because of the tonka and the vanille, but right from the start to the end you can smell some good, comforting leather base, and the perfume allways keeps its' playful nature. The leather is more present in the middle and the drydown, and when it starts shining through after the beginning....DAMN!! Thats awesome. (Scentetuolo gave a good paraphrase of the leather note, I could just repeat him)

Do not dig your nose in it, just let it linger around you. And please don't judge it too quick as a generic scent... give it some time and try to recognize the notes....it's really worth the time I think.

Projects like a maniac, and longevity is also great. Take it easy on the sprayer if you are in the office, because it can be too much for some people. Otherwise.... just enjoy it. Absolutely recommended.

And the cherry on the cake is that I am a musician and one of my favorites is Noel F Gallagher so even the name Brit Rhythm fits me so good....it definitely a long story for me....

chiragh

I have the normal rhthym and my friend owns this and everytime he wears this I compliment him .

Will be adding it up to collection sooner or later .

Longevity I have clue but sillage is decent for 1st 2 hours !

Before I get to BBRI, I feel it is only fair to give you some background information on my relationship with the Burberry Brit line. The original Burberry Brit was the first signature scent I ever had. I was well known for the scent throughout high school. I purchased Burberry Brit Rhythm the day it released, and was somewhat disappointed but still kept a bottle in my wardrobe as a sort of tribute to the original. When I found out an intense version was releasing, I was thrilled as I felt that the first flanker was too laid back to represent the line. I blind bought the bottle immediately after its release and fell in love with the fragrance at first spray. BBRI is NOT the most complex, well blended, organic, or exotic cologne on the market. It isn't challenging or "groundbreaking."

BUT IT SURE AS HELL IS A BONAFIDE COMPLIMENT ALL STAR.

It is a fall/winter dumb reach that I will always have in my collection and am proud to call my signature scent. I have been asked to spray this on more hoodys/pillows [;)] than any other cologne I own. This is a cologne that you get an extra hug while wearing so that she/he can get one more whiff of your fragrance. As fragheads, we sometimes get so caught up on whats new/challenging/expensive/high quality that we disregard some absolute gems and this is one of them. The fact that this can be purchased for anywhere from $20-$30 dollars is absolutely unbelievable when you consider the colognes that are sitting on department store counters for upwards of $100.

THIS SHOULD MAKE EVERY YOUTUBE REVIEWERS FALL/WINTER CHEAPIE LIST.

BBRI opens briskly with black pepper, mint, and sage that all quickly take a backseat to the main player in this fragrance: LEATHER. There is nothing animalic or dirty about this leather, just refined and clean. The leather continues throughout the rest of the fragrance and is backed with tonka and creamy woods. The fragrance is never harsh, but it does get smoother and smoother as the fragrance progresses. The sweetness also increases throughout its life. It definitely doesnt reach the gourmand stages of the original BB but the tonka and cashmere certainly add a masculine sweetness in its later stages. I get about 4-5 hours of good projection and about 10 hours of longevity, which can be extended indefinitely if sprayed on fabric.

I do not get many of the comparisons in the other reviews on here. It can be categorized with La Nuit, Spicebomb, and Man in Black, but it definitely doesn't smell LIKE them. It is much less spicy than SB and MIB, and it is much deeper than LNDH.

Opening 6/10 (too short lived to be rated highly)
Mid 9/10
Drydown 9/10
Longevity 9/10
Uniqueness 8/10 (clearly designer and mass appealing, but doesn't smell exactly like anything else on the counter)

Overall 9/10 (very easy to wear and generally well liked by the public)

Not too bad from the house of Burberry. In my opinion, the best of their line. A nice fragrance but that being said, it's nothing groundbreaking or amazing.

Starts a bit spicy with the pepper. I also detect some leather, vanilla, green notes and a coconut type of note.

Longevity is good, last for hours. Sillage is moderate. Overall, its good but not great.

Burberry Rythm intense is not intense at all, it's soft (at least on my skin), semi-fresh, semi-sweet. The top is fresh, peppery, little fig and strawberry, these notes give some interesting vibe, but the drydown is average woody, little leathery, the problem is that not too sweet neither fresh or masculine, just stays a medium chemical smell. If you don't want wearing a heavy and thick smell, choose this, because is soft, non offensive, nothing attention, just a pleasant stuff. I'm not a man, so maybe on a man's skin behaves differently. I bought because I thought it was sweeter and powdery and easy to wear, but I'm disappointed because it seems this fragrance is too average for my taste.

carlosalbertoandradecruz

It's probably the best Burberry in my opinion.

ThirtySixPercent

I haven't smelled the original so I can't make a comparison to it.

Burberry BRHI is a long lasting sweet woody leather fragrance. Projection is strong - too strong if over-sprayed. The opening is heavy. The leather, pepper and wood notes hit hard with some raspberry. It dries down a lot sweeter and softer with the vanilla. The leather can be too strong when smelled close to the skin, as such this fragrance smells a lot better in the air while projecting, at least to my nose. The leather and wood are still prominent but the vanilla smooths them out. Definitely a cool weather fragrance for nights out.

Overall I think the fragrance is alright. Its not bad but there are other fragrances that could do its job better. Try before buying, I wouldn't consider it a safe blind buy. The bottle is nice though.

too strong!!

Carbin14

This smells average to me. It definitely has a powderek smell to it which is typically not my thing. It reminds me of Penguin Original.

mrluctoretemergo

blind bought this...BIG MISTAKE !!

this is so bad i don't know where to begin...
and the worst part : if you spray it on you or in a room,it takes hours to get this synthetic no-notes (philosophy probably here was : note separation... are we gonna do this with this one?) chemical waste out of your nasal system...

one of the worst things i have ever smelled...

DONT TRY....DONT BUY

First time I smelled this I was blown away. How did Burberry pull this off? An actual modern near-masterpiece?

It's of course largely forgotten courtesy of it being a flanker, and no-one actually paying attention.

Classified as a leather, I am bound to agree. However it does share a bit of ground with the Egoiste/Zino school of orientals.

It opens with a futuristic pepper-y green citrus. It's a bit spicy, yet also quite traditional. The opening is sweeted by fig and loads of raspberry.

Once the middle stage arrives, a superb mint note takes place. It's a very green mint. Sort of like freshly ground mint leaves in a mojito, joined by a very nice faux-amber note. There is also a traditionalist element at play here, as an underlying accord of lavender and patchouli gives the middle stage a hint of dirtiness.

Then the base. Oh yes the base. After 15 minutes or so, the raspberry, pepper, mint and amber are joined by a load of vanilla, tonka and leather. It's a highly green and aromatic accord. It really accentuates the leather, and shows the multifacets of leather.

Unlike the modernistic leathers that are very clean and fruity, this one is clean yet with a hint of dirt. There is still a smidgeon of the animalistic nature of leather present.

I also get a little bit of sandalwood rounding it all out.

That base accord should be enough to sell this stuff by the truckloads. Yes Brit Rhythm Intense is a Burberry scent, the ingredient quality is not top shelf. But who cares? This scent is more about the painting than the ingredients that made it. When put together, this fragrance shines.

In a way, this is a modern continuation of Zino and Egoiste. Not that it's as artistic or out there as them, but its damn nice scent that is so well made. It manages to please both the common man and the parfumista. It bridges the grounds between the artistic Egoiste and something more "common" like La Nuit De L'homme, and proves that it is possible to please and remain creative.

Way to go Burberry.

Now, please delete the recipe for Mr. Burberry and pour this juice in the bottle instead. Then you'd have a scent worthy of being a flagship scent.

Longevity is excellent - 12 hours.

What a marvellous atmosphere this fragrance creates. Bold and perfect during the cold breezy nights. And it is definitely a powerhouse in terms of performance. Great longevity and intense sillage. On my first bottle right now, would definitely get more!

Am I the only one who thinks this smells like La Nuit de L'Homme?

TutorialBoss

A kind of dirty-sweet leather. Good performance in terms of both longevity and performance. Sometimes I think I love it, then I think I only like it okay. The raspberry and other sweet notes are a bit too strong; I wish that the leather and woods were more prominent.

Suitable for cooler weather non-formal wear. I wouldn't use it as an office scent, I think it could be a bit offensive to some noses.

Scent: 7.5/10
Longevity: 8 hours
Projection: 2+ hours strong, but short of beast-mode.

This scent goes PERFECT for a cool or cold day and the color brown. This scent is so classy & elegant yet it has a quality to it, the way it hit the senses is amazing!!!

CB23

People comparing this to Invictus and Eros need to get their noses checked. This site is so unreliable with comparisons, I strongly suggest you try it for yourself, the only consistently accurate point made is the excellent longevity.

I often spray it while at home on a cold night, just a couple of sprays to the chest and it's still going strong when I get up the next day. Excellent value and an enjoyable scent even for someone like me who doesn't enjoy leather usually

ron.simko

What I'm finding with BBRI is something of a Chimera. I mean that In a good way though.
Of course any time you have a fragrance with close to twenty notes, it's going to be a bit complex. This is definitely not linear. I've worn this a few times now, and it seems a bit different on different days. There's an underlying consistency of course, but some notes stand out more at different times.

The scent starts out rather strong, heavy with leather, Amber, pepper and burgamot, but if you give it a bit of time (I'm gonna say 30 min.) It starts to mature (I almost want to say evolves) into a very interesting and satisfying blend that somewhat eludes analysis. I mean this in the best way. This is where the variations and the mystery come in. Sometimes you'll smell the fig, others more Amber. It's all good though because it's such an amazing blend.

Longevity is about 6 to 8 hours, but that's about as long as any scent lasts for me.

I really am enjoying Brit Rhythm Intense, I believe Burberry has a great fragrance here.
Having said that, I don't recommend this as a blind buy. Go out, smell it on a strip and put some on your wrist for a few hours. This is a scent you want to be sure works for you.

Jwalf

I admit I do like this fragrance but it really is suited for places that are not humid and hot like Florida where I am from. It is very minty and mildly peppery. I wish the mint note would stay longer because it would make all the other scents less harsh because this one is very strong! It does smell somewhat like Eros by Versace but the Eros works a lot better in warmer climates than does this fragrance.

36thDisciple

This is the clubbing fragrance to get if you're on a budget and can't stand Versace Eros.

muotarek

This is the best perfume from Burberry, it's quality is fascinating, i love the combination of it, raspberries, vanilla, leather, cashmere wood, tonka bean and sandalwood, it's really good stuff, performance wise too, it's beast mode on my skin. i love the bottle's design too, it looks class! well done Burberry! <3

Hitec

Manly scent, very fertile.
Best use in colder Season.

djbuffoon

The original Rhythm is a very decent fragrance, dignified and totally wearable for mild/chilly weather. This intense version is, appropriately, more robust, but there is an overly harsh "oud" note that really rubs me the wrong way. I prefer the more balmy and laid-back original.

Amen Corner

Smells similar to Mercedes Benz Intense.

Edit: Tried Pegasus and their drydown has similarities. Sorry not good at describing notes so just using comparisons between perfumes.

ninjafish007

I'm not exactly a seasoned fragrance expert and I'm certainly not one for being able to say ah-ha yes there is the bergamot or lavender....but its nice. To me it gets a little sweet the longer it goes on. Lasted about 6 hours on my skin before needing to reapply, but I think after a couple of hours the fragrance was reaching no further than my very immediate area.

It's decent enough and is a nice enough throwaway scent for work for the price. Managed to pick up 50mL on ebay for under £10!

ahsif

Nothing interesting, but nothing bad, i got this at a good deal early of this year.
I have used it a few times and today i can confirm that this perfume gives me a slight headache and i keep sneezing throughout the day and gets my nose blocked!

so i will be saying bye to this one.

razmale_kl

I fall in love with a first sniff test.. i really really like the scent but..
this doesn't project well on me.. i get 2 or 3 hours, (sometimes less)projection.. but seeing all the good reviews here about it's sillage, i think its probably my skin

scent 8/10
projection 5/10

SimplyRavishing1

All these reviewers are on point when they say that
Burberry Brit Rhythm Intense has incredible longevity.
There is also a nice sillage throughout the life of this fragrance.
The scent reminds me of CH Men Prive with a Powdery yet
Sweet blackberry accord layered on top.

A great alternative to try out at only $35.00 for a 90 ml.

Brit Rhythm is my favorite, so I finally got around to buying the Intense... And it smells nothing like I imagined! I definitely prefer the smell of the original Brit Rhythm. After a few hours, this does get closer to the smell of the original, but not quite. This keeps ahold of some of the added spice, and it's less sweet and less fruity. From start to finish, this is much much more bitter and spicy.

Although the original Brit Rhythm is my personal favorite right now, I will agree that if you kind of liked but didn't love the original, this will probably be more your tastes, if you can appreciate the differences. This is peppery, a little less sweet, and much more bitter, and the leather is much stronger.

For me personally, I'll be sticking with the original Brit Rhythm. I don't totally DISLIKE this one, but I only have so much room on the shelf, so I had to let this one go.

Chicago Tony T

A spicy CH Men? Since many complain about the reformulation of CH Men I believe this would be a nice replacement. It's not as sweet but does have some sweetness along with added spiciness and the same light leather vibe. A nice budget friendly offering from Burberry that is actually good! Not really a beast mode scent but it's sufficient.

coreyflames

I always receive compliments wearing this! So seductive and addictive. Love it especially for a cold day/evening

VOSS

I don't sit around and romanticize about scent notes and such.
Here's what you need to know:

This stuff is STRONG. You've been warned.

The smell is pleasant, a touch more feminine than I prefer, but ladies will probably love it.

I find it is appropriate for my age group, 30-40.

Definitely a nighttime scent and preferably outdoors.

Definitely a cool weather scent. I can't imagine wearing this in high heat.

I've smelled better, I've smelled worse.

Fell in love with this scent the first time I smelt it, it's lively and fresh to me. Definelty would recommend

Stanky Leg

Not a big fan of this one. From reading the note breakdown I really expected this to be a scent that I'd like a lot, but ... that was not the case. After a fresh, spicy, aromatic opening, the dry down, at least on my skin, is just a sweet powdery smell. I tried this 3 times, and each time I was left with a (long) lingering baby-powder scent. That's just not what I want to smell like. The longevity was pretty good, if you like the dry down.

Normpaps

just got it in the mail today total blind buy ....and a good one being wearing it now for 3 hours all i can say so far is that it WAY BETTER than the original !

Corundum MKD

Just bough it and so happy to have it in my collection, special gooood scent blend.. Love it! :)

jackfort

Great juice from one of the noses behind La nuit de l'homme. This really deserves its Intense moniker. The original Brit Rhythm was quite ordinary but this one is a winner for sure. Longevity and sillage are great. The scent itself is awesome, peppery and masculine. Forget this in summer, this could kill someone...

This is the fragrance you need if you want to make a statement as it projects a powerfull aura.

Merci M. Ropion, you really nailed it this time

Extraordinary.....,!!!!!!
Really bravo. 10/10

If you are kind of 50-50 on the original Rhythm, this one you'll love. I was looking for a fragrance that had leather but won't break the bank like Terre de Hermes and this was great substitute. The original scent's very strong, trailing effect was muted here to give a more contemporary vibe to it. Subtle but distinct. I will buy this as soon as I get my salary. Lol.

LAboy scent expert

everybody is crazy, this is awesome awesome , yes some similarities with VR spicebomb , only better , I love the pepper blast and leather, love it!!!

smellshot

retched cologne-original far better-loved at first whiff, tried on card, the sales clerk even said holy that's strong. Tried on my wrist, and no matter how long i let it sit it still stunk!

siomes

Was about to blind purchase this yesterday but I'm glad I didn't.i smell the tester bottled and realized that it's a complete ripoff of Charriol black for men the only difference is that there's a metalic note in this Burberry fragrance and not as strong.not a bad fragrance but I already have something that smells like this in my collection.

groover

Well theres not much to add that Antonpan has
not already mentioned. .I did like it better
than the original, but if you did not like
the original i doubt youde like this one either.
And the price was way to high i think.

antonpan

The new Intense is much better and richer than the regular Brit Rhythm. However, it is not anything groundbreaking or new for the market. The Intense smells as a drier, peppery Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb clone with addition of coconut note similar to that in Marc Jacobs Men and leather from Paco Rabanne 1 Million. The result is sweet and trendy. If you like Spicebomb and 1 Million you could choose this one.

blacklibran1

The first fragrance was horrible. Now an intense version....???? Really???
