It's got a clean, peppery opening and a moment of Green Tea by Elizabeth Arden, and the combo takes me back to middle school...like Degree for men mixed with Green Tea, which was in fact my combo back then. Top notes faded as quickly as my youth, RIP. It begins to smell like fresh laundry, which is inoffensive in small doses and cloying and fake in larger ones. It ends up smelling akin to baby soft, with even the musk fading out after about 30 minutes. Not something I'd wear much, but I do time travel with this one!

windchime_00

So familiar (with the lavender and tea) yet unique twist (maybe the shisho?) that I just find myself craving. It's a very soothing bed time spray or good to spray if you need serenity. It's a beautiful blend with light to moderate projection and it does stay in an intimate way for up to 6 hours maximum, and I love it, so I just got a second bottle, this time 150 ml!

oil1122

wowww it smell like first step when u walk in the shopping mall. Smell like new Particle Board or some kind of new stuff which i so in love with that. If u r someone who the same like me, let try😊

fanonlamb

Beautiful; powdery, yet airy and clean. Great for those who dislike "clean" fragrances.

Also, I've had this bottle for years and never gave it a chance. It finally clicked for us, and of course my cat dislikes this scent.

chowder.man

i remember it smelling good but i fucking spilled my sample of it so i can't smell it again >:(

Psalzarulo

The first spray reminds me of the L'oreal shampoo that used to come in a fish-shaped container. It's super soapy with light, powdery florals that give it a bubble-bath/shower gel vibe. It was slightly alcoholic but really only for the first 2 or 3 seconds. The earthy notes from both the tea and the iris really help tie together the other floral and musky notes.

A a man who does like a lot of floral/unisex scents, this one is very satisfying as I can absolutely see this working on both men and women. Obviously, the packaging and note profile make this lean feminine, but it's definitely not girly or flirty in any way. I think this would be a great, clean office scent for a man, although for a date night you would definitely want something with a bit more musk or spice.

I think for a woman, this leans more mature. It's probably not going to spark much of a reaction from others, but it's definitely wearable/pleasant and I think the gentle earthy tones of this scent exude confidence.

The scent becomes a bit more earthy on dry-down, but overall remains pretty linear.

I think overall this is a nice, pleasant, clean scent that most people would like, and a few would really love. I can definitely see how the earthy notes can turn some people off, but I don't think that's an inherent flaw. I'll give it a 7.5/10 overall.

My mom gave me this because she’s a tried-and-true fan of au the vert and thought she’d like au the bleu (but it wasn’t for her). This scent is clean, very tea forward when you first spray. It smells like stepping into an upscale Japanese tea house in the middle of spring. It feels like shedding off the stress of the day and slipping into a state of relaxation. To me this fragrance is best for the spring or the wintertime, it’s too nuanced for the warmer weather and it just gets lost when mixed with sweat. Not a very invigorating fragrance, but it’s very calming.

MarkoPeeko

Today, I’m sad.

I’ve waved goodbye to a stunning drop. This 75ml bottle has lasted me 3 years. I’m gutted to spray the final few dots.

Those lavender, tea, violet and iris notes will be sorely missed.

A classic for tea lovers. Thank you, Bvlgari.

AnastasiaGostieva

Beautiful rich and spicy scent with warm and slightly peppery opening. Tea, lavender and shiso are responsible here for aromatic aspect here with licorice and herbal undertones. I also feel somewhat savory in the background. Base smells kinda woody for me.

Smells just like lavender air wick. It's not a perfume for men.

Eau Parfumee au The Bleu is an innovative approach to cool and fresh. Using the ionones of violet and irones of iris, sheered out with aqueous, herbal lavender and a noticeable perillaldehyde (shiso), it has a durability that belies its softness. The tea accord that is at its core feels like an iced tea, the aroma almost like the taste of tannins, green and slightly astringent. I must admit, it reminds me somewhat of the aroma of the Lipton ice tea powder mix that was popular back in the 80s.

Coumarin and an understated orris powder sensation surfaces over time, a sweet talc after the watery tones and iced tea ease. There are even echoes of L'Heure Bleue and Caron Aimez-Moi in its development, with their muted hues somehow made lighter and more effervescent, suitable for warmer weather. Overall, au The Bleu has a relaxing, tonic quality that would appeal to those who are drawn to fragrances with an aromatherapeutic sensibility. For me, it's a fulfilling wear and one of those that is even suited for "over spraying."

Mystères du Château de Dé

Unusual mix of notes and exceptionally cool toned. I wish it came in 400ml splash bottles because I would LOVE to be generous with this lovely and delicate cologne. I don't think any colognes should cost this much. I wish I had some of those big candles with this fragrance.

When I first tested it, I didn't feel much about it. But by the end of the tester, I like it somewhat more. For me, this is a cold winter scent, should suit nicely with snowy and sunny weather. I don't recognise any of those mentioned notes but it is definitely blue, doesn't smell anything natural but synthetic. Thankfully, it's not with that typical musk present in so many other men's "blue" scents. Yet another interesting experience from Bvlgari.

Foxzilla

What a beautiful scent! I was expecting a lavender-centric scent, but instead got a sweeter, more unisex cousin to one of my other favorites -- Prada Infusion D'Iris.
I mainly smell Iris, Violet, Bergamot, and a little bit of Lavender, which creates this lovely scent picture of sipping Earl Grey while sitting in a garden of beautiful purple flowers. I love that this one feels more full-bodied than Infusion D'Iris, as that one can sometimes be a little too stringent and screechy. And the performance on this is actually better on my skin than Inf. D'Iris. For an EDC, it performs better than some EDTs, and I'm so glad to have found this 💜

LSAUG

What a wonderful fresh scent for summer that isn't neroli, citrus, or aquatic. Tea, violets, iris, lavender all blended to perfection! Nothing harsh, all of the elements are in perfect harmony here and every note has a chance to sing, none overpower the other. This is refreshing, light but still very noticeable. Green w/out being sharp. I would wear this a lot in the summer, great for very hot days and it is a nice change of pace from wearing citruses all the time. I really love this. The smell of fresh tea, herbal lavender, iris and violets gently wafting their scent in the breeze, the greenness of nature and a clean musk. Perfection. Going on my want shelf. Purple and green heaven.

Martina Ivanovska

I love this cologne I can't wait to wear it in the summer, it’s smells so good refreshing violet and lavender tea, and I smell some clean mask, I think this is so chic summer fragrance🍸

Karen.M.OShaughnessy

I bought a small sample from an online retailer. I thought I would really like it, but my thought is ‘meh’. It’s strongly violet but I don’t smell lavender or any of the other components. I’m going to finish my sample, but I’m sticking with the other Bvlgari au thé scents that I do like. Edit: it’s two days later and I put this scent on again. I actually think I do like it more. I’m smelling the violet mixed with green and it’s very nice right now.

Neckromancer

When this starts to dry down, it reminds me of Burberry Brit Rhythm. But it's more powdery in the traditional sense. Less woody than Infusion d Iris, and more baby powder - like.

tessture

On me, this is something between Heeley Iris de Nuit, Prada Infusion d’Iris and Lempicka Blanc. It has the dry ozonic iris of Nuit, with the sweetness of Blanc and the fresh airiness of of IdI. I don't get much lavender; it's mostly iris, but it also fades about midday so it doesn't last hugely long. There's a bergamot note in there somewhere that mostly contributes to the fresh feel, but in colder weather or at night sometimes strikes me as bug spray, so I"m keeping this baby for warmer weather. Love it in warmer weather.

marialena888m

The opening is quite masculine and smells straight up like a strong cup of eucalyptus tea and lavender. I wish the top notes had bergamot or lemon instead of lavender. It turns more unsex (femme leaning) after it dries down, and I get a soft, musky violet tea with still a little bit of the lavender. It’s fresh but not summer-fresh imo. It’s not a ‘cooling’ enough scent for me. It’s fresh and ‘watery’ but it gives me a warm calming sensation, starts out like warm eucalyptus tea and ends as a warm violet-tea bath and gentle iris musk talc. I don’t desire to reach for it on hot days, it’s more fitting to use after an evening bath when it’s time to wind down and relax, or in the springtime or rainy days. I don’t think I will keep it, if only it had citruses (and I would have liked the violet to be more prominent than the lavender), it would have been the perfect summer refresher scent because the drydown is very soft, clean and perfect for everyday use, too bad I dislike the opening. Fantastic performance for an EDC.

churinl

It took me a few wearing before I really started to like this. At first the tea was overwhelming everything, even the lavender. But now, I'm getting the purple (or in this case blue) florals and they are well balanced with the tea. The Iris is exceptionally beautiful after the first half hour or so. Of course, it remains clean and fresh.
Summer is coming to an end but I hope to give this a few more wearings before then. A like bordering on love.

clairesque

Lovely refreshing violet. This isn't quite what I was hoping for; it is very green and a bit aquatic. Something you'd wear outdoors on a warm day. But I wanted this to be an ultra feminine violet-dominant fragrance and it just isn't.

Maddieh

This one is my rainy day scent! It is so calming and easy. Also it does not matter were you decide to go or what to do, it is very much apriciated mild but on me it does have sillage. Cozy rainy days.

Mobrien37

A very well rounded fragrance in every aspect. Don’t normally like lavender but it’s lovely in this perfume. Very weak and poor silage but that’s what’s expected of a cologne. This perfume pleasantly surprised me. A successful blind buy. Glad I bought it. You won’t get compliments as it’s too weak but I certainly recommend this one if you’re into light projected lavenders.

stacia79

This is super relaxing. Don’t wear this one while driving or operating heavy machinery because it’ll put you to sleep with all that powdery bubble bath lavender! This is like Prada Infusion d’Iris had a baby with Balenciaga Paris.

TinaWood

If you are a fan of lavender, violet and tea, this fragrance is perfect for you! It's delicate, it's like made for the meadow fairy. It's aromatherapeutic, natural, light as a mist. If you're a natural type who doesn't want an "in your face" or artificial type of scent, wants to wrap yourself in the softness and notes of nature, go for it!

The downside, unfortunately, is - at least on my skin - really poor sillage. I wish they would at least make a eau de toilette.

VelvetTrance

A dreamy, calming, pillowy soft cloud of loveliness. It does feel very "blue" with the violet, the iris and the almost dusty lavender. Powdery without being a powder bomb in my opinion. Slightly sweet and stronger than you would think for an EDC. I almost think, how can this be right because it performs like an EDP for me. Unless you actively dislike these notes, I would say just get it. It's that beautiful. 10/10

MarkoPeeko

Not sure what it is about the bottle I have, but it lasts all day. Sprayed on at 6am. 6pm, I’m still getting wafts. Amazing scent.

saccitygrl01

Blind buy based on notes, reviews and the fact I am impressed with Bvlgari after purchasing Au the' Vert.

I really like this fragrance and agree it is in the same category as Prada Infusion d'Iris but with some key differences: It is less powdery, it is slightly sweet with the violet note, it is slightly more transparent and best of all it is less expensive.

I love it. On me I don't really pick up the green note (shiso) or lavender, which is a disappointment. The tea note gives it the slightest herbal note that comes and goes in my ability to detect it. I am hoping the shiso note will come forward once the bottle has time to settle after shipment, but if not its not a dealbreaker. Longevity is very good for a cologne--I was able to get 4 - 5 hours before wanting to refresh it.

If you find it at a good price like I did and enjoy iris scents, go for it.

jazzfan

Notes are incomplete, there is bergamot in the opening, some cardamom, coriander and violet leaf all over. And those notes are kind of Bvlgari's tea DNA, the link with the others. Lavender is not as important as, from the official notes, should be. Violet is. I have a lovely oolong tea with just a hint of lavender that I have been drinking for years, so the concept is not new to me, but I'm struggling to find any. Tea is more implied than figurative and even as tea snob, I'm fine with it. Tea is difficult, differerent cultures had centuries, perfumery has done it for just few decades.
It's a lovely perfume. Actually, it's eau de cologne. With an impressive longevity. Fresh and cool in unusual way. I'm enjoying it very much.

dsgnmind

I write my reviews for my own future reference.

I got a bunch of cologne samples today, so in whiffing each, this fragrance came across as the most floral and sweat in its opening, with a mid tone of nerd candy, but as a unisex fragrance I found it leaning more feminine as it dried down, leveling off with a powdery, and barely noticable lingering sweet and floral note. There is something nice about what I assume is the violet, but sad face for me as it's just too feminine.

Liliangaa

If calm had a smell this would be it. I detect iris and tea in the opening and once it settles violets and musk complete the equation. it also smells clean so it works for bed time.

Cherry_Darling

Agree with aromatherapy. I definitely get violets, a touch parma candy esque, however i also get a strong cardamom and no lavender...maybe the tea note is confusing me as I mostly associate tea wtih chai. Definitely feels spicy though, in a soft christmassy spiced tea kind of way. I'm even getting a laconic feel but may be my imagination, will have to test again.

Edit: This smells very fils de dieu in many ways! Must be the shisho, but the cardamom and even the slight concrete / ricey smell. Sometimes I feel the juice is made by the same provider and rebranded.

Bvlgari's Au The Blue is pleasant, but a bit odd. I get powder, violets, lavender, and something almost like the skin of an apple—or something almost fruity. It's clean, musky, and just a tiny bit funky. I enjoy it a lot but it's not quite a love for me.

Search and Discover

Aromatherapy rather than perfume. I love Bvlgari scents and used to wear the white tea one. I can see how the Blue Tea is in the same line, I get a similar powdery vibe. Blue Tea smells like a concoction of Earl Grey Tea with Lavender and Moroccan Mint Green Tea -- there is a distinct minty green note mixed in with the lavender. I find it to be a soothing scent, suitable to post- evening shower and straight into sleepwear. Cannot imagine wearing it as a cologne out in the daytime, though. This would be great as a soap and/or hand lotion set for a fancy powder room.

For the ultimate comfort, spray this on your teddy bear and snuggle up to sleep ;).

Pilikins

This is a great powdery lavender. It starts with a huge cloud of lavender and green notes which are immediately followed by iris and sweeter violet. However the lavender continues throughout, gradually becoming sweeter and more musky. I can’t actually detect the tea amid the other notes. However, I detect something like honey in the drydown which is predominantly smooth, clean and warm musk. Unisex. Lasts ages, sillage moderate.

Updated:

Left this over winter, spring and summer. Sprayed today and it’s come into its own. I didn’t give this enough credit when I bought a bottle. I felt it didn’t carry the potency and longevity the sample I bought did. 8-9 months has changed the complexity.

Stunning. The tea, the iris, the violet. Everything. Unreal. I’m now starting to see the connection with Prada.

Spray, leave, spray again, savour. ❤️

washudtoj

Not my jam.

It's quality fragrance, for sure, being from Bvlgari, but I'm not a fan of powdery fragrances to begin with, so it's no surprise I am not enchanted by it.

That said, I can tell it can be pleasant for people who appreciate this sort of fragrance. The 'blue' tea is a rarity in anywhere, hence it piqued my curiosity to try it. Now that I have tried it, I am ready to let it pass.

Don't expect this to be a tea fragrance proper. Rather, expect it to be a purple flower musk fragrance with tea as a noticeable note in it.

I also don't remember how many times I sneezed whilst sampling this and trying to use up my 2ml decant. However, I'll still say it's a safe blind buy IF you like these notes.

beaglebaileysmom

I can’t get ”this perfume reminds me of” thing to work, but to my nose the dry down is same as Burberry Brit Rhythm, which is much cheaper and lasts much longer. I think Burberry discontinued that one because they screwed up and made it last, which is apparently unacceptable to fragrance manufacturers. But this Bvlgari one succeeded in not lasting, at least not for more than 24 hours like Brit Rhythm. Will let you read subsequent reviews for detailed description, as they are consistent and accurate.

bizzie_k

This! I think to love this you must love violets. I can’t quite place what this reminds me of, but I’m getting a mental picture of Laura Ashley stores from the 1980’s and gift sets from Crabtree & Evelyn. It’s a blended violet with oolong.

Very clean and somewhat formal. Unisex but the violet note is unmistakeable. If this were a fabric, it would be a bright white cotton with petite sharply printed violets in tiny repeating patterns, like very good bed linens. Eyelet trim. Dark purple or even green piping.

I adore violets and soapy scents, and this one is perfectly balanced with calming, orderly tea note. Wearing this feels like practicing your best manners while visiting cherished distant family.

Snowflake8000

Don’t love this one. Leans more masculine to me, and I prefer a more feminine fragrance. Smells like rubber. Like a new bicycle tire kind of rubber.

RandomPatterned

I received a sample decant and I think it's delightful and wearable. It's fresh and calming. I guess I need to become acquainted with Shiso. Maybe it is the forward top note I can't place and the magic that keeps the lavender and powdery aspects balanced. I'm going to get a FB.

Freshwater mer-folk bath salts.

The first whiff is a slippery murky green note that reminds me of okra. Thankfully, that soon slides away, washed off by fancy French laundry powder–the lavender and violets dried out by iris.

Then comes a round of decongestants in the form of minted tea, an odd sinus clearing smoke under the florals, giving everything a cool blue vibe that I sort of like, for about three hours in intimate space.

Weirdly swampy yet clean.

shannfernando

This honestly blew me away! Even though it’s an Eau De Cologne, it performs better than most Eau De Toilettes on the market today. The bottle and the colour of the juice is the perfect representation of what wearing this is going to feel like. I am a big fan of Sam Harris’s meditations and I wear this just before I sit down to meditate. It puts me in that calm state of mind. If you are looking for something to wear very casually and to feel better and relaxed, look no further. But, if you’re looking for something that lasts a long time and has monster performance, look elsewhere. This is a more elevated, aromatic, spicy, and certainly powdery version of 4711. I wish Bvlgari will someday re-release the Tea line in EDP concentration. They truly are niche quality fragrances!

katariina9

Very dreamy sleepy skyblue powder scent. Its cross between Guerlain meteorites powder balls and freshly ironed bed linens spritzed with herbal lavender cologne in between folding... soothing blue with green touches, very calming like early summer morning in white nordic cottage. But has a bit of vintage powder vibe, so its more of a classic-leaning scent...

I wouldn't have recognised shiso, had I not worn more shiso-forward De Bachmakov before, it adds warmth and fresh herbal angle to lavender and this shiso-lavender is a beautiful combo (like one of these small lavender pouches that you can put on your eyes warm to make you sleep), a bit dusty yet clean. Musky clean powdery violet adds another dimension to this scent. Yes, there is iris in the notes, but its more violet powder than iris for me...

The Bleu is not much of a literal tea scent, but it represents the moment of calm, perhaps even meditation - time to reflect... So its more of an IDEA of a cuppa, and the much needed pause it provides in our daily struggles. The scent works exactly like this- it has an aromatherapeutic purpose... which is not something one can say about many other perfumes these days... purpose of beauty silence and comfort.

I've enjoyed my sample first thing in the quiet morning to get in touch with my own thoughts, its quite perfect like this... summer or winter.

iconoclast

The beautiful frosted pastel blue colour of the bottle describes the scent perfectly, and like the scent is a work of art in itself. Lovely scent that skilfully straddles the unisex field as I get a cool spicy drydown with iris and something interesting that's similar to cumin - is that the shiso leaf? Good performance too for an EdC strength product. Anyway, I think it's a great all season scent that I recommend, even though I don't think of it as a safe blind buy.

MarkoPeeko

Picked up a decant of this a couple of years back. Loved the projection and the longevity seemed to go on for hours. Picked up a bottle last year and I was disappointed with it. Not much more than a skin scent after 3-4 hours. For the price, it’s not a bad scent, but not one of Bvlgari’s best. Preferred the red.

Mlepnos

Totally agree with s2jkbrad's review...sharp green, screeching lavender with poor performance. Usually I really like all the notes but on my skin it's (unfortunately) quite disgusting as it basically smells like stale urine so I only use it as a bathroom spray at home. It's pretty bad as that as well though...

mynameismaryam

So disappointed in this. Please don't buy if you're looking for tea. Its very pretty and all the other notes are there, but they drown out the tea note.

SuzScents

Quite lovely! Bulgari's Au the Bleu EDC opens with lavender and sparkling green brightness, owed to the Shiso, I guess? This edc is smooth, subtle, clean and classy. The dry down is an elegant, faintly-musky, grown-up baby powder. Certainly a unisex scent with moderate sillage that invites others to come closer.

stacia79

Makes me think Bulgari took the formula for their discontinued BLU II and removed the anise note, then mixed it with the stuff they use to make Au The Vert. Definitely agree that this is reminiscent of Prada Infusion d'Iris.

Yana_Yana

What a pretty gentle cologne. It opens up with very natural lavender and herbal notes (I'm guessing it's shiso), then powdery sweetish iris joins the existing notes. I find some resemblance to Guerlain's "L'Instant" and Prada's "Infusion Iris". Like always, I wish it was louder, I wish it lasted longer. But it serves the purpose of being a perfect meditative scent for "me" time.

s2jkbrad

I do not like this at all for me. It smells masculine and sharp on me. All I can smell is a sharp green, mixed with a high pitched screeching lavender. It smells like toilet deodorizer. I don’t smell much of a dry down. On me, it’s linear and then it ends.

cho-ku-rei

Powdery sweetness and parma violets (confectionary) are dominant on my skin, especially from the initial spray until about half an hour into wearing. There is something of a sharp or piercing quality to the intense powdery, violet sweetness.

During the dry-down, iris emerges – along with an aromatic, herbal, almost clary-sage like note (the "tea"?), with hints of lavender; mellow and aromatic, and a welcome addition. Also a wonderful, tantalising hint of cardamom, which is somehow unexpected, yet harmonious. Nonetheless, the candied violet remains. It all balances out smoothly at about an hour after initial application.

On me this is just a little stronger than "skin scent" after several sprays (approx 3 per pulse point) to pulse points on inner elbows, wrists, neck, and lasts about two hours.

Thé Bleu seems wearable by all genders, in various everyday contexts, intimate, casual or professional settings. It would undoubtedly bring a touch of serenity and refinement.

I also get vintage vibes. On me, it is a cool-cold scent which, synaesthetically-speaking, IS "blue".

Lastly, this does remind me of Prada (Infusions) Iris, which I already own, and love. Like the former, Thé Bleu has that clean, cool "starchy iris" effect, as another reviewer identified. But it is the overall effect or "mood" evoked that I find similar, rather than simply the fragrance itself.

Rozalina

Looking at the notes I was expecting an herbal, floral aromatherapy type fragrance. I LOVE tea and purple flowers especially my life obsession, lavender.
This smells like tea but more like a tea lozenge or candy, I even get a hint of citrus at first spray, so a lemon tea candy. I’m not getting any powdery flowery goodness and can’t detect any lavender at all :(
I blind-bought this and really wanted to make it work, I might keep it as a room spray or something, the bottle (my absolute favorite shade of blue) is too gorgeous to give up.

OolongLaLa

For me, this fragrance MUST have heat to work. The notes don't hang together correctly in cooler temperatures; something is so off about it that it makes me a little nauseated.

In high temperatures, the notes of Thé Bleu blend together nicely. I can't strongly detect any note, but I feel impressions of iris, tea, lavender and shiso. Sniffing the dried down fragrance on my wrist, I think I get a little hint of the sweetness of violet. The shiso note stands out the most although it's not strong. It seems to add a minty character with an ever so slight fennel component. I wish it was present throughout the fragrance.

Intially, the scent that wafts up to my nose smells like an elevated Shower to Shower body powder, a staple in my grandmother's bathroom. As this perfume dries down it becomes more interesting and softer. The best part (to me) is the quietest part! However, if you like fresh from the shower scents, the shiso may constitute a unique twist at its current proportions that doesn't leave you desiring anything more from it. Lavender becomes more apparent in the drydown, but not the oolong. This doesn't read as a tea fragrance. With it's somewhat stately blue bottle, this chic freshie seems more like something you should wear to a tea room.

A nice duet of tea and iris, which subsequently gives way to some citrusy freshness, and, finally, musky powderness. Thus scent is rather light and, thus, can be easily used for work.

Instant favorite! I decided to blind buy after reading the reviews on this page and seeing who the creator is. It did not disappoint!

My nose is getting used to it quickly and I get compliments even when I cannot smell it anymore. I must admit that I am not used to this, usually it's the other way around. I also don't usually like Bvlgari, this will be the exception!

This EDC can also be purchased as part of a set with soap, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and oshibori. I recommend getting the set if you can, the other products complement the EDC really well and add to the luxurious feel.

Pretty, light, fresh floral tea scent.

Thought this was pretty blah personally... massive fan of au the rouge. Smells unique that's for sure, I don't smell too much lavender but instead a lot more tea. I only use these in body lotion form though.

dcjimr

This is a heavenly tea and floral scent that is very soft yet not powdery to me. Absolutely unisex. This was a blind buy for me and I find it gorgeous.

ViouAmara

It opens like a cup of subtle androgynous tea, with a tiny touch of cardamom (not listed). The leafs infuse slowly, no hurry, let’s take the right time for goods things. Then comes the iris, marvellous, powdery without any mistake. It settles down with gentle elegance, the lavender gives a little flowery bitterness, clean but not soapy, slightly woody not to much, just enough. This fragrance is personal joy, the one you share because it radiates from yourself.

ajagrze

I always thought that a lot of Daniela Roche-Andrier's perfumes would work perfectly in Chanel's Les Exclusifs line. This one is no exception. Eau Parfumee au The Bleu is smooth, classy, perfectly balanced and doesn't scream for attention. It's relaxing despite being somewhat melancholic, the way well-made iris-centred frags often are. Simple, yet beautifully made. A masterpiece.

floralscents88

This was a blind buy and boy I'm so glad i did! First of all, if you don't like powdery scents, then this is not for you. This is very powdery(which i happen to love).like baby powder powdery. If you like strong, in your face, attention-grabbing fumes, then this is not for you. But the scent is very unique. unlike any other thats out there. i'm not good at picking out notes but this is a well blended scent. the scent pyramid has floral at the very top but it's a very soft/shy floral. not cloying/vintage. there is a faint citrusy(i know it doesn't have any type of citrus in there) herbal note that is mixed in with the soft flowers. of course this is EDC so don't expect the sillage and longevity to be EDP or EDT strength. Some say this could be unisex? but i disagree, the powderiness alone makes it lean more towards it being more feminine, imo.

mschallmos

My holy grail green tea scent. The notes dance together so beautifully. The lavender is glamorous and the iris adds a beautiful powder effect (not too much or dated). There is a spice to my nose maybe similar to cardamom, but very gentle. I love to wear this after a shower or when I need to relax and de-stress from the work day. It smells amazing on men as well.
And...best bottle design and spray ever; gentle mist!
Give it a chance, it takes time to appreciate.

Bubbles1964

A recent acquisition: soft but persistent performance, I can wear this in cold and warm weather. A true all season scent. Others have explained the notes so I’ll pass as there’s nothing I can add except to say that this is a serene choice in my collection.

Also I pick up zero powder in this composition. It’s an EDC, so as I expected it lasts about 90 minutes. When I’m feeling reflective, or when I want to take a perfume break, this is what I want to wear. Bottle, like the others in this series, is a top shelf beauty.

EDIT: Agree with reviewers below, this reminds me of Daniela Andrier’s previous iris creation and a favorite of mine, Prada’s Infusion d’Iris. But Bleu has a prominent tea note with lavender and shiso taking the wearer down a more linear, herbal path.

beautiful calming yet energizing scent

..i keep getting some bits of Fahrenheit here and there..
(i love Fahrenheit..if only there is a femme version)

I really appreciate the dry down of this fragrance. This is what Guerlain Meteorites (finishing powder) smell like, vintange powdery violet, so beautiful and calming!

elaine ong

I would never buy a fragrance simply for the design of the bottle, but for Au de Bleu, I might just have to. It's sheer architectural brilliance! In any case, the juice sounds like something I could wear to a meditation retreat and not throw anyone off their serenity. This is going into my list of To Purchase Sometime in the Near Future.

Swedelish

Bvlgari impresses me with their ability to make the most gorgeous, understated fragrances. This one falls right in line with what makes them shine. If they were to ever release a gourmand I would be hesitant because florals and light effervescence is what they do best!

Here's another one to add to the list of effortless elegance. Wearing this fragrance is the equivalent of having a spa day with you wherever you go. I think of it as having a mixture of essential oils in a diffuser, only the diffuser is my skin. The color you see on the bottle is exactly what you will envision when you smell what's inside.

It seems like things could go piercing when first applied, but there's warmth from the sweetness of coumarin given off by lavender that balances out the cold, powdery iris. Velvety violets give it texture and purple hues. The tea note keeps things green and crisp and there's a soft bitter spiciness that cuts through. Perfect projection and lasting power for an edc. After several hours of wear it begins to blend in with your body, like clean skin that's been soaking in a luxury spa bath infused with essential oils. This fragrance is the definition of aromatic and even therapeutic, I'd say.

This is definitely a Prada Infusion d'Iris clone! I applied some, went about my day, and a few hours later I kept thinking I was wearing Infusion d'Iris! A clean, somewhat soapy floral. Aromatic, clean. The smell of sophistication. I love this (and Infusion d'Iris).

Lilac Irises by Claude Monet

Alces Alces

Eau Parfumee au The Bleu, how I love you! Swoonworthy indeed. Calming, clearing, astringent, yet floral-sweet due to the lavender and iris. What a perfect summer afternoon scent, makes me want a cup of tea in a shady spot. No one could be offended by this unless they are just being difficult.

Sorry, I have no idea what "shiso" smells like. I had to search to find out what shiso even is (just perilla by a fancy name!), and now I want to grow it because it sounds exactly like my kind of thing. So I can't say whether it contributes here or not, but I will say SOMETHING in this is quite beautiful in an ethereal, floaty way. Yes, The Bleu does give a sense of tranquility.

Could become my summer signature.

SammyA

Great fragrance!
The best to be called unisex.
I get compliments everyday I am wearing this sophisticated juice.
A must buy!!

Dorjee

BAXTER OF CALIFORNIA - Herbal Mint Toner.
Smells rather linear and airy, or 'light AF', men can easily pull it off although it totally reminds of female cosmetic feel sometime, it only projects 1 inch or even less, making it not only office friendly, public friendly, all purpose friendly really.
Notes are hard to breakdown exactly, violet is quite standing out, however soft and cold, iris is (carrot) rooty and earthy but not powdery, gender neural and crisp. Couldn't get the tea note whatsoever nor a remote connotation from the abstract green leafy, dewy cucumber from the top.
Development is minimal to none, but do get bit sweeter within the short 1 hr or so as it lasts.
Perfect occasions for Eau Parfumee Au (The?) Bleau are European hotels, no need to knock up the high end franchises, staying with those 4 to 4.5 stars are just fine, or startup artisan hotels trying to impress while being minimalist.
I can easily see this, and the Blanc are perfect dual, sitting in all white or Mediterranean blue-ish loo, welcoming guests from all over the white people world.
Well done Bvlgari! Solid 2.5/5.0!

eamaccready

This is such a beautiful fragrance. It's cool and not sweet and has almost a meditative feel to me. I get the sensation of a tranquil shady pond or something, but it doesn't feel at all aquatic. The I definitely get lavender, tea, and iris. Some of my favorite notes. So nice.

Plumaria

I own this fragrance in a set with the Vert and the Rouge as smaller purse flacons.
I like all of them with Rouge being my favourite and Bleu my second favourite. I don’t want to describe the notes as all other reviews have already done this beautifully and there is nothing new I could add, but I would like to recommend this original, unisex scent.

I like to wear it when I feel like not wanting to wear anything in particular or when I need to reset my nose after a period of bold strong fragrances that I can’t detect anymore because of what is called olfactory habituation or fatigue.

Sillage is very discreet but persistent. I always feel its presence but it is a quite, soothing presence as it is no too fresh, no too powdery, not too clean, not too aromatic, it is a perfect calibration of everything.

After a few detoxifying days with this fragrance my nose is ready to enjoy again the powerhouse scents. This doesn't mean that it is not a beautiful fragrance per se, it just has this characteristic of making things go back to balance.
It is a zen kind of scent.
The bottle, especially in the blue version, is to die for.

TowerOrchard

Everything about this fragrance is peaceful and calming. It opens with a great burst of lavender and shiso (which smells closer to mint to my nose). It settles down to a delicate tea scent with powdery iris playing a supporting role. The whole combination smells like a day at the spa - fresh and relaxing.

It's an EDC, so it doesn't hang around a long time, but I love it's airy lightness.

Joshuawrng

Being in a love/hate relationship with this one since the first time i tested it last year. And in the end, i finally get a bottle of it!
Its actually not a fragrance that i love, but i like it and it smells very unique yet soft and inoffensive.

lucia.lawson

Bvulgari is a fragrance line I have not experienced very much other than through the shampoos soaps and hair conditioners I find during my travels in various hotel room bathrooms. I adore the scent of the soaps and shampoos but I doubt that the matching perfumes are exactly alike in scent. I was able to find a few Eau Parfumee The scents online and bought them. They are part of a Tea theme with tea notes - red, blue, white, green. I liked them all but want to start with this one. This is by far my favorite. To me it has more of a vintage feel with a nod to classic powdery floral fragrances. I'm not suggesting this is as good as a vintage or can be compared 100 percent to other scents like L'Heure Bleu Apres L'Ondee or more modern scents like Esprit D'Oscar but this is as good and has some elements and qualities that are the same. I like the bluish purple floral theme and the powder effect.

Opens with some green notes of shiso and tea with a distinct lavender enough lavender so as not to only become the major dominant note but to give it a unisex vibe. This is a very good aromatic lavender floral which smells as good as a toiletry like soap or (for a man) aftershave. I love lavender scents and this one is quite nice. The tea notes come through as the scent begins to develop. I'm able to detect the smell of a greenish tea which blends with the shiso. As it softens and dries, it turns even more delicate away from the stronger green notes and the lavender. Now it's a lovely and tenuous powder made up of violets and iris flower. The iris is quite noticeable as it sweetens with the violet and comes through as almost a talc powder or lady's body powder in a porcelain container. It reminds me of talcum powder my mother used to powder her chest and neck with back in the 1940s 1950s. This feels good to put on right before bed though it seems to be a daily life kind of fragrance. Inoffensive and clean, doesn't project much and so it's perfectly suited to wear to work in a public setting. It's also soft enough and powdery enough to wear with lingerie to bed.

I would say that the unisex soul of this fragrance is divided into 2 parts. The opening is quite unisex and masculine with lavender and with green notes including the tea, quite aromatic bold and herbal, bordering on a fougere and then turning into a lady like powder with sweet iris. This is for me the most floral of the Eau Parfumee The line. The others are more spicy and centered around other notes other than the florals. This one is bigger on floral scents. If you like florals especially the blue purple flowers of lavender iris and violet, and you are ok with powder and don't get headaches from powdery frags, and still enjoy the green tea notes you will love this. It's so lovely.

amanda-m-lewis

Beautiful purple flower profusion. It is so calming and I swear it has healing aromathepy properties which transport you into a peaceful state of being.

I find upon applying I get candied violetts, which some people may find off putting, but it only lasts for appx 5mins and then comes the Iris and Lavender drydown, which is so comforting and gorgeous.

I honestly don't detect any musk which I am very happy about and I can't quite detect any tea but I don't care... I wear it before bedtime and within 10mins of spraying this I am asleep.

I need a full bottle in my life..soon..

diorella

I love this one--violets, powdery--so cozy. Not overpowering or fruity. Brings back vintage scents. Very different from most modern boring cliches.

If someone were to ask me to describe Eau Parfumée au Thé Bleu, I would tell them that it is a starched iris and orange blossom with a heavy hit of spices and tea. The first opening of Bleu is hard-hitting and even abrasive, but to me, it is one of the most gorgeous orange blossom compositions I have ever sniffed. The juxtaposition of the suntan lotion with intense chai spices is intriguing. Typically, spiced tea accords are paired with sweet, creamy vanilla, so the aforementioned combination is rather unexpected. The base of the fragrance is similar to the clean, starched iris found in Infusion d’Iris by Prada, but the effect is almost hot and dry instead of cold and metallic. Overall, I am impressed by the Bulgari Eau Parfumée line and would recommend it as an outstanding example of tea-based fragrances; although, I would wear Bleu while in the mood for iris or orange blossom, not tea. Note: there is definitely a lavender accord kicking around, but I typically have a tough time picking out lavender—it appears and disappears, darting in and out of the cloud of iris and white musk.

I adore Bvlgari's tea range, with au bleu, au noir and au blanc as my favourites. Sadly, the blanc and vert have minimal longevity for me, so it's hard to justify the price when so many cheaper alternatives are just as good. But this au bleu is a winner and lingers for a good 8 hours on my skin.

The opening notes I find a tad off-putting and harsh, but within 30 minutes it blooms into something cooling and fresh and utterly delightful. Completely different from my other scents and not your typical tea scent full of citrus. The lavender is clearly noticeable and not too harsh and iris in the dry down is clear and beautiful. I would recommend this for hot days as a cool break, while the lavender with the iris makes it suitable too for colder crisp days of winter.

delo4ya

Eau the Bleu is one of my warm weather go-to scents! It is very fresh with lots of "cool" notes, like lavender and iris. I also like the light tea smell. When I first sampled it I couldn't decide if it was something that I would want to wear often. But as the weather get's increasingly warmer (especially in Washington, DC) and I wear crisp cotton and linen dresses, I find that Bulgari's tea colognes are just delightful for me and I will wear this one often. However, I don't feel that it is very masculine, but a tad mysterious on a woman. I like to smell nice when someones is near, but I don't want to shock a person's senses when I give a hug or a subtle handshake. Definitely a favorite!

Helenalena

Love the smell, but could be better quality (ingredients).
simply said - i would like to have expensive version of this one!

This smells gorgeous! It's perfection... I now own the full size, despite my initial worries of poor projection and longevity. However, my concerns were put to rest once I had the spray version. Comments above and below me have described the scent better than I ever could. I just love how it's powdery, aromatic, and juicy (nearly aquatic)...all at once. One of my top 3 for sure!

jana.hullinghorst

I finally found a bvlgari that I like! It hits all points- long lasting, clean, interesting in a subconscious way, un obtrusive and just plain good.
Not only that, but it's perfectly unisex. I can happily share this one with the boyfriend.

Anywho

I tested Eau the Bleu today on a test strip only. This is a beautiful, and to me very feminine, scent. EtB to me smells like a tea scent on a musky base laden with powdery violet that has been blended with the original Bvlgari Femme - really nice. The violet is there for me right from the top and stays strong for quite some time. In the base the violet recedes a little to leave more of a light powdery trail behind which lingers on softly with the rest of the ingredients. I really like this...lovely...

dulciedream

Lovely delicious perfume!! Beautiful iris and tea, a heavenly mix amalgamated with the wonderful scintillating lavender, and the gorgeous, really beautiful violet, and the shiso adding a pungent peppery thrill. The dry-down is really lovely - soft and gentle musk. Excellent longevity and soft alluring sillage. My husband loves it on me. We both love it, and other people take notice of it and always tell me they think I smell beautiful. It's very fresh, invigorating and calming and soothing at the same time. A real treat for the senses. The lavender is excellent. Really sweet and rich.

It's incredibly feminine, soft and yet strong, rich and enticing. I love it very much. It's very very special.

Oh, and I LOVE the bottle! It's absolutely beautiful: elegant, stunning and refined looking, and such a lovely feminine colour. Very classy.

Old Herbaceous

This is an odd one, but I like it. Not love, but like. On first spray, I get a weird celery-like green note which I think is the shiso. It smells like celery leaves, not stalks. It's not unpleasant, just unusual. I also get the iris note up front, and no lavender that I can detect. The violet comes to the fore after about half an hour while the shiso/green note lingers and the green tea emerges, so there is a nice balance of slightly powdery violet with fresh green leaves. I can sort of smell the iris note still lurking in the background.

This is a minimalist scent that won't offend anyone but it won't wow them either. OTOH, there are times when a scent like this is exactly what is needed to complete an outfit, such as one of those long, flowing outfits in soft solid shades of greyish blue/lavender you find in catalogs like J. Jill. It's more "minimal" than "casual", and it is quite serene. I don't need a full bottle but I'm happy to have a travel size spray.

Soofiya

Bvlgari bleu is the only one I own among this line but is not my fave,I like the red one more(still don't love it)
Bvlgari bleu opens very fresh, green and herbal,I don't know how shiso smells in real life but I think it's dominant in the opening part,a minty vegetative note, lavender is not as dominant as my expectations..I can also detect large amounts of violet, even more than iris,as always, violet in cool, herbal or woodsy non-sweet fragrances translates to cucumber for me,which I don't care for..this herbal, aramatic and cold, green cucumbery scent lingers in the background but becomes less dominant as iris and tea start to show up
Unfortunately tea note is not as the drink, tea, warm and deep and comforting,it's the plant tea,so just adds to freshness and green quality of scent
Definitely it's not something I would like, but I can see how others with different taste in perfume may love it,if you're just looking for a powdery scent this may disappoint you, ofcourse it IS definitely powdery, but also green..so if you're into powdery AND herbal, aromatic scents,or are looking for a cold, fresh, dry, non sweet and non citrus spring/summer scent go for it
I believe it's in the middle of unisex range..I find opening part more manly but drydown with soft musky iris is more womanly so in whole it's wearable by both men and women and is suitable for hot and even humid climates
Longevity is moderate and sillage is soft to moderate,a clean, dry, refreshing skinscent..in whole it's projection is acceptable for a edc
BTW I like the bottle so much
❤❤

Neosmiaphyte

Rounded iris, violet, and non-astringent lavender. The only sharpness is a pleasant opening of musky, tea laden shiso. Shiso is in the mint/peppermint/spearmint family, and is just as distinctive and different from them as they are from each other. It is aromatic, green, and fresh, and spicy.

In the next few minutes, the shiso dies down and a pleasant powdery lavender reminiscent of baby powder. Tea mingles in the background. After the baby powder fades, vanilla briefly becomes prominent even though it is absent from the notes listed.

a few hours into wear, it becomes dry without being aldehydic. This is my least favorite part of the scent, but it promptly begins to fade. As a cologne, it does fade within a few hours, but it is so lovely that I don't mind reapplying.

Baseeta

There is a definite peppery note to this on first spray. Apparently shiso is a member of the mint family with peppery, fresh qualities. This escapes with the dry down and what's left is a powdery floral that is faintly earthy, and very cool. This really is what blue would smell like to me, and absolutely perfect for a heatwave.

olga.cassar

As a great lover of teas and all things herbal, and an admirer of Daniela (Roche) Andrier creations (especially Prada Infusion D'Iris EDP), I couldn't pass up this one. It was a blind buy, and a love at first sniff. It is pretty much along the same lines as Infusion D'Iris, but with a hefty dose of lavender. Longevity IS a problem, you will have to reapply.
UPDATE: this scent smells better on my teenage son ;-)

drugstore classics

Among refreshing, aromatic fragrances this is a true delight. Worn all day in the piping hot sun, Bleu gave me a wonderful sense of freshness and calm this week. There is almost a therapeutic quality about it.

I would call Bleu a grounding and comforting scent, although I usually ascribe such qualities to powerful and oak moss centered chypres. This is not powerful at all in the traditional sense, but a soft and airy fragrance with tea and lavender. The most prominent note to my nose is IRIS - the powdery iris of Infusion d'Iris.

It is perhaps more airy and fresh than Infusion, and wholly suited to the most sizzling weather and soaring temperatures. Any fragrance can burn off skin rapidly in the heat, but worn on hair and fabric, Bleu stayed with me all throughout the day and still lingers on my shirt with serene freshness.

It is difficult to describe fragrance with mere words. The aura created by this bit of Bvlgari art transcends the merely fresh category into comforting elegance, were the two words ever used together... If there were one phrase ( other than the ones above! ) that encapsulates it, I would say:

Calming CHIC.

Five Stars

Edit - For me personally Burberry Brit Rhythm nicely fills the aromatic/hot weather spot at a lower price range. They are not twins, but cousins. Minus the tea note, Rhythm nonetheless has lavender/musk/orris root down to perfection. It's wonderful in the heat and lingers expertly throughout the day. As for refreshing TEA note fragrances, I adore Paul Smith Rose, which on me is more about the tea than the rose, and also holds up to heat with a similar genius. Who knows, I just may layer the two, but they're superb hot weather gems on their own!

glamgirl

While this reminded me of Hermessence Osmanthe Yunnan at first, which I love, the drydown on this was a bit too harshly soapy.

Museumgal

I love this it is so relaxing and calming, green tea with powdery florals. The powder I'm especially blaming on the violet which is fine by me! I love powdery scents. I find the notes in this extremely realistic and true to nature.... Just beautiful! Reminds me of a scent Crabtree and Evelyn had Song de Chine if anyone remembers that.

XxRosexX

This is one of my very favorite fragrances, and apparently an aphrodisiac to my boyfriend (extra credit points there). This is such a stand out fragrance… totally unique, so imagine my surprise when I heard how little love this one was getting. This frag is sadly so under rated, but I think I know why. When I first smelled it on the card, I wasn’t sure I liked it either. It’s not one of those fragrances that just jumps right out as being a smell to swoon over, because it is very, very dry, (no sweetness whatsoever), and almost seems strange smelling, because it is so different than most other perfumes. It is very much in a league of its own even as a natural tea smelling scent. Because, of its unfamiliar quality, it makes you go “Hmmm… I don’t know….” at first. Unremarkably, the only thing I’ve smelled like it is Bulgari’s au The’ Vert. Au The’ Vert has the same natural powdery root smell, but The’ Bleu’s powdery root smell is amplified by the addition of iris (from which I understand au The’ Vert does not contain). Again, the powder smells herbal and earthy, which is actually quite nice, and melds well with my skin’s natural scent. I would never EVER have had a fraction of the admiration of this scent that I do now had I judged it alone without allowing it work with my body chemistry. Prior to doing so, I honestly didn’t “get it”, but within moments of spraying it on my skin, the cold, dry, somewhat metallic notes were given life, and warmth, and suddenly, I was overcome by an “Ah ha!” moment as the scent became intoxicatingly gratifying, and I couldn’t stop sticking my face in it. The Lavender smells incredible in this frag. Sometimes I have a hard time with lavender in other fragrances because of the astringent quality it normally has, but in here, it strangely lends itself to an almost spicy quality when combined with other the notes (or perhaps my personal scent). Regardless, the subtle spice that happens makes for a wonderful scent that, to me, is beyond perfect for summer time. On hot, sticky days, I reach for this while casting looks of disapproval at those wearing citrus, and ultimately smelling like sour BO.

Vegas Pauli

This is all violet and iris and very little tea. Its not bad, its just very powdery and green. Im a sucker for natural fresh scents (I love most of Hermes colognes and the Bvlgari tea collections) but this one falls a little flat for me. Could almost be a flanker for the Cartier Eau Essence line. Not a hate at all, but def not a love either. End of the day, this one feels a little unnecessary.

It has FINALLY appeared in store and i was very anticipating to try it. I LIKE the green tea (pre reformulated though), i LOOOVE red tea, White is ok, but this one is actually more on "dislike" side for me. Basically it is the "the vert" with a lot of iris added and by now i discovered that a very prominent iris note make me dislike a fragrance. Especially if there is a "deadly" combination of iris and violets present. I do like a green tea base of it and in general it is not a fragrance i hate, i even enjoy it at some stages but that iris/violet combination prevents me from liking this tea fragrance more than i wish i would. I am not sure if this is actually unisex, seems like a more feminine to me, than masculine or unisex. The sillage is soft and lasting power is actually quite good, up to 4 hrs. Hope it wins a loyal fan base as the older ones and hopefully they will not discontinue "the rouge" ever.

jeannebelmondo

I cannot understand how people dislike this one! This is the most interesting and complex in the Bulgari Tea series in my opinion. To me it is like a bit of a green and earthy version of L'Heure Bleue. If you like your tea scents powdery and warming, this is a pretty safe buy, but wait until the price drops a little... it IS an eau de cologne.

bronstein

A nice variation of Bvlgari's own Thé theme. Perhaps more female than male, and perhaps you would prefer to scent your room with this one rather than yourself. It's a good and elegant scent nevertheless.

preskal

A great perfume! I've always considered lavender more masculine aroma, but it turned out it works just wonderfully on me! First you smell real fresh and elegant lavender which settles in a couple of minutes and the iris emerges. Not too powdery, not dirty or damp, just beautiful "Daniella Andrier" iris. The perfume stays on my skin more than six hours, but I do not mind reapplying in the meantime. Classy and elegant, my favourite of all the Bvlgari's "teas".

sjcita

I took a whiff of this yesterday at my local Sephora and I was SO disappointed! I expected a pretty lavender scent but instead it was a plastic chemical smell... very odd. I'm glad I didn't buy this one solely based on the hype and description.

lisa o

I don't know if it's the name but I smell blue camomille and clary sage besides lavender in the opening, later the herbal aspects soften and a powdery iris/violet comes through with the bvlgari tea-note...

mutatismutandis

I like the tea range from Bulgari but I wouldn't class this one as unisex in a million years. Definitely one for the ladies.

wongkar

received my decant today,

and wow ! nice tea - lavender stuff.
i like lavender, and i didnt know that lavender will do fine with tea.

my new favorite for relaxing at night.

definitely a buy !!

Malonet9189

This has to be the most disappointing of the tea fragrances in my opinion. Whatever the scent is meant to be, it has been incredibly weakened to a point where it really would not make a difference whether you wore fragrance or not. It smells quite sharp when immediately sprayed and it softens up after 15 minutes-ish to a skin scent. After that, it may last for 3-4 hours and after that its gone. Being a worshipper of Au the Blanc and a lover of Au the Rouge, this one is very disappointing. And to think I nearly blind bought it.

Bouquet

I got a sample of this from Sephora. I really liked the description of the notes. There is something in the opening that is really weird -- not bad, per se, but just weird. Majesty said "shoe polish." I'm getting something like mimeograph paper, or Windex. But the dry down is really pretty; very soft subtle iris and a pinch of lavender. Low silage and close to the skin. Wear it for those times when you want to be minimally scented. Imagine a non-soapy, lighter Prada Infusion D'Iris EDP with a different opening.

sycomore85

After several minutes it reminds something in my head Un Jardin La Mousson by Hermes. I think I would like to buy a bottle of au the bleu, the new packaging is much sophisticate

TillyWave_archive

Aquatic Tea

I admit I like perfumes for their packaging. How this lovely bottle of blue perfume strikes me as beautiful, instead of reminding me of Windex window cleaner, is a feat in itself. The juice/bottle really are beautiful. So there's that.

The perfume is in the light, watery variety. The tea is light, and green (oolong tea is a lot stronger than this) and maybe iced. On my skin the peppery shiso note lasts for over an hour. The fresh peppery tea thing is nice. But it starts to fade and become Watery Bvlgari Cologne, like the Vert or some such. Yeah, it's floral, but a watery floral, a watery musk to finish.

I like this, and I hate to push perfumes into masculine/feminine, but I don't want to wear this. What I would love is to smell this on a man. I'm a middle aged women but I would probably follow a man wearing The Bleu to the ends of the earth! This would smell so lovely, fresh, peppery, edgy, earthy, on a man. But I don't want to wear this as much as I would love to smell it on another.

melancholybaby

This is an excellent fragrance. It fits well in the "the" series, and is very reminiscent of The Vert, even though it has a clear lavender note and more floral undertones as it develops. Light, of course, with acceptable longevity for it's type. By the way, for canadians, I got mine on-line at the Bay; it came in a gift set with 75mm Eau Parfume plus 75 mm body lotion, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, as well as 2 soaps and 2 wipes. Lovely!

As a fan of Bvlgari tea scents I have been looking forward to trying this. I lucked out today and spied the blue bottle on the Bvlgari fragrance counter. "Ooooooh it's here!" I said out loud. I was that excited. A couple of spritzes later revealed a gorgeous green tea-like scent with a fresh picked lavender note. Really nice and natural - suitable for wear much in the same way as The Vert and The Blanc. Like those, I'd wear this year round and would admire a man who chose to wear it - I'll share it! :-)

My experience with this fragrance is a bit disappointing. The opening is very interesting and original, dominated by a deep green note, full of freshness and very uplifting. I was expecting the new shiso note, so finding myself thinking about Japan was foreseeable. I predict that shiso will become the next fashionable green note. This moment in the fragrance is unisex, young and courageous.

Later the fragrance morphs into some kind of "floral greenness" a little bit confusing, closer to some home scents, sufficiently skillfully blended to not being questionable but deffinitely not my taste at all. This phase feels more feminine and classic and this is how the fragrance ends as well.

I recognize the resemblance with Ellena's work and overall I can see the beauty on it but honestly I do not feel identified as its target.

I agree with JaiTee that this is a beautiful variation of the original The Vert!

Basically this is the original with the addition of equal parts of lavender, iris, and violet. I usually can't stand violet, but here it is soft and natural and not overpowering blending well with all the other notes. This is powdery, but not too much. I think this smells beautiful, feminine, and very elegant! Also, relaxing and peaceful and perfectly fits the beautiful blue color. It stays close to the skin, soft silage, good longevity. Full bottle worth for sure!

This is a beautiful variation on the original The Vert.

The lavender opening is realistic -- just like sniffing the giant shrubs of lavender growing in the backyard. This opening lasts for a few glorious minutes. The Bleu then gently gives way to a slightly sweet citrusy green tea on me. For the rest of the day, this remains mostly The Vert that's slightly tempered by the iris.

Sillage: arms-length for the first hour with one spritz.
Longevity: becomes a skin scent after a few hours.

This is a really lovely, refreshing scent. I love using lavender scents to relax, but since this one only opens with lavender and then switches to energizing, citrusy green tea, I enjoy using this first thing in the morning.

Thank you to Sharks for the sample. This is full-bottle worthy.

LuScentinTenebris

A nice dry, cool fragrance. Shiso adds fresh pepperiness, and the early stages are pleasantly bitter, like sun-dried lavender and grass crushed between the fingers on a hot day. The tea accord provides just enough sweetness and lift to balance.

It's very Ellena-esque in style, which makes it a cohesive addition to the line. The EdC concentration makes sense, as it's a lavender. Easily unisex.

The dry down went a little sour on me, and a bit pickle-y, in a similar way to Hermes's Un Jardin sur le Toit. Not sure what elements might be responsible for this, but it's not overall unpleasant, just not as nice as the early stages of the scent.

I usually love Bvlgari perfumes but this is awful! I am highly disappointed. Their last fragrance Divina was horrid as well. What a bummer. Hopefully this wont be habitual going forward for Bvlgari.

I have just tried The Bleu and I am quite disappointed. I had quite high expectations because of the lavender in the notes but unfortunately I couldn't smell any lavender in that composition . To me it's a fairly linear , simple , quite bitter , powdery iris with a vegetable undertone which turns out to smell like shoe polish on my skin while it dries down . Dry ,powdery and kind of unattractive and unispiring to me .

It's a pleasant and minimalistic take on tea emphasizing its dryness. It's like the flavour of the green tea infusion you forgot you made in the kitchen. Then you decide to drink it anyway. Now it's cold, it have developed an astringent, greener and metallic taste. It's in the line of Jean-Claude Ellena's creations for Hermès.

I absolutely agree, and even people like me who love nuclear bombs want sometimes something light and subtle !

And I'd like to add that EDC does not necessarily translate into bad performance! Tommy Girl is an EDC with great longevity and sillage. Give it a try - you might be positively surprised :)

To answer Mr Cornells' question "Who does that these days" Heremes, Dior, Chanel,YSL,Ferragamo.... Not all people like an overwhelming, heavy scent such as Man In Black, some prefer a lighter scent of an EDC, especially during the summer months.

Mr Cornells

Concentrated as EDC? As in, Eau De Cologne? Who does that these days? Please BVLGARI as a high end brand shouldn't engage in such misadventures of releasing EDC products. For me, they seem to be telling us they Eau de Confused!
