Place Vendôme by Boucheron is a Amber Floral fragrance for women. Place Vendôme was launched in 2013. Place Vendôme was created by Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson. Top notes are Orange Blossom, Tangerine, Pink Pepper and Rose; middle notes are Honey, Jasmine, Praline and Peony; base notes are Benzoin and Cedar.

Boucheron presents a new women's fragrance named after Place Vendôme, the address in Paris (Place Vendôme 26) where Frederic Boucheron opened his first jewelry store in 1893. The perfume symbolizes over 150 years of light and gems that have passed through this house. A woman who wears Boucheron is conceived as independent, free, self-reliant and confident.

"A story rather than a face. A story of light. While Paris continues to dream, the sun’s rays slide over the rooftops. The dome of the Invalides becomes a gigantic gold flower. The sun continues to rise, its rays crossing the arcades. Shadows slip from the Vendôme Column, which points majestically at number 26. In a white light, she appears. She is the heroine. On her skin, ephemeral finery to enhance the glow found deep within each woman. Boucheron Place Vendôme.”

The composition is florinental-woody, created by Olivier Cresp and Nathalie Lorson. It opens with fresh and sparkling pink pepper which illuminates delicate orange blossom and rose essence. Jasmine petals develop in their full floral potential in the heart of the perfume, together with peony enriched with golden traces of creamy honey. The base notes include elegant cedar and sensual benzoin.

The fragrance is available as 30, 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Super floral. I really don’t get much honey here and it’s got a shampooey scent to it. Illicit has much more of a gourmand feel and isn’t as sharp as this, but it has a similar wood that’s slightly pencil shaving-like but smooth. Imagine a shampoo of Illicit but without the caramel and you’re getting closer to Place Vendome. I find it a bit sharp personally!

monipod

The opening is very elegant and more floral than fruity. Something you can imagine ladies of a past era wore, but it's by no means old-fashioned either. As it settled, it got a bit sweet and generic smelling, but luckily it became a pleasant, classic scent on the skin. I don't think there's much projection after an hour. Something worth trying again some time when I'm in the mood for a floral, but I wouldn't know what to do with a full bottle (I got a mini at a great price).

bruby15

This is a blind buy reading reviews here and loving the bottle.
It is a happy scent, I can smell honey and citruses, nothing else, it does not project, stays close to the body and fades after a couple of hours but smells elegant and airy, this is like a forest nymph perfume. I love it but mostly love the bottle.

Dutchlikesclassics

Very nice scent for spring and summer. I bought this for ca. 36 Euros and that’s a bargain.

It’s very chic and I like it a lot. It’s not too sweet, fortunately.

The bottle looks gorgeous. I am happy with my purchase.

TopnotchLady

If PV was a woman it would be Grace Kelly. Pure class, elegance, beauty and femininity. Love it so much!

I'm growing increasingly enamoured of the oeuvre of Nathalie Lorson, and Place Vendome is not breaking my lucky run. It's a beautiful, transparent, rose-happy floral that you can buy for a steal, which is true of so many Boucheron frags. I find this house to be quite underrated; same with Lalique, another French line with gorgeous bottles that Lorson has contributed to. I snagged the sweetest little purse-spray, in an elegant and practical cloth sheath with a metal bar clasp, for less than $12 on Fragrance Net. You can get a 3.3 oz bottle for less than $30 on sale. I'd call this a fantastic bargain, even a blind buy, for anyone who enjoys floaty, friendly, diaphanous French florals in the tradition of Jaipur Bracelet, although that one is greener, and this one is more honeyed, with a gourmandish praline note. PV seems to get more creamy and ambery in the drydown, and I'm getting much more jasmine (slightly indolic but not what I'd call dirty) than rose or any other floral. It reminds me a bit of Calvin Klein's Beauty, only it projects much better and seems to have a lot more going on in terms of its notes and development. This one sparkles a bit more on the skin, if that makes any sense.

Update: This is really beautiful on my skin, and it gives me a serene feeling, probably because of the combination of honey and cedar, the strongest note for me on the drydown (along with the orange blossom and jasmine). Such an elegant, heavy bottle, too; it wears a bit light, so I'm glad I bought the purse spray.

If you're looking for an ode to honey, this isn't it. The honey note is delicate but soon passes. The fragrance is a classy blend of white flowers, and you could safely give it as a gift to pretty much any woman knowing that she won't hate it. The bottle is very very pretty and looks lovely on my dressing table. That's just the problem though, it doesn't stand out because it's so generic. It is pretty, classy, and completely unremarkable, which makes it perfect for the office or a blind-buy gift.
Both the sileage and the longevity is quite poor, but someone may like a pretty, light-wearing fragrance, that's completely and utterly safe.
I've been wearing it as a summer perfume but can't wait for it to come to an end so I can move onto something with more personality.

sulinskaite.k

One of my favourites. Last two or three years I've been into niche perfumes, but now I came back to my old love. 🖤So lovely - classy, chic, fits perfect for spring weather or colder evenings. Feminine, but with character. I don't see much similarities with YSL Cinema, only this one - both of them makes me happy. Both of them smells like joy, but in a different way. 🥺

Every time my mom wears this I ask her what she is wearing. And every time I am taken by how beautiful it is. You'd think I'd recognize it as I've worn it quite a bit myself, but no. I can pin point every other perfume my mom wears as I have given her about 15 of the ones I didn't use much myself. PV is always a mystery, always smells new to me, which is amusing considering how mainstream and easy going this seems at first sniff. It's a gorgeous and very feminine scent that is never too much of anything, just very well balanced and very likeable.

Jonquil212

If this is a "granny" scent, then she is a beautiful, wealthy, chic grandmother whom we should all want to be when we grow up. She doesn't spend too much time doting on her grandchildren because she has a life and it doesn't revolve around them. It's a sublime fall and winter scent with incredible sillage. Warm, inviting, and never obnoxious.

Jamsine

This is gorgeous! For such a modest price, it smells amazing, it has depth and complexity. It’s very sweet but not sickeningly so. There are white flowers and also honey, but it’s blended so well. I’ve had a lot of compliments. The bottle is beautiful and satisfyingly heavy, though I think the name of this perfume is not as evocative (or cheesy) as others out there. Pure class.

VanillaaManiaa

A disappointing blind buy, 30ml. The bottle is freakin GORGEOUS and so cute…the juice is soapy, powdery, expensive granny 😩 we’ve all hugged one, the type with perfectly coiffed hair and manicured nails. Gonna let the bottle settle for a while and see if I get any benzoin, praline or pink pepper in a few weeks, all I got today was rose, peony and shower gel type honey…

KippieBall

Place Vendome is hard not to like. It's sweet! I love the perfect combination of white florals with praline and honey in this. Don't be fooled though it's a mature type of sweet, I would even call this scent divine.

Little_dragon

I’ve waited a long while to write my review of this fragrance, as it was a blind buy and I was waiting for my mixed feelings to settle one way or the other. They haven’t.

There’s a lot to love about Place Vendôme, so I’ll start with that. This is so *not* a linear fragrance; it develops so much throughout wear. The opening has an effervescent, almost champagne-y quality to it (as I don’t pick up the pink pepper strongly on its own, I’m guessing it plays a role here). The wood is present from the opening through the drydown, but it just rounds things out. About 30 minutes later, the honey and floral dominate. I don’t get a single floral note, and I don’t really pick up the rose. For me, it’s more like a bouquet of yellow flowers. Place Vendôme gives me a mid- to late-spring feel.

So, where the mixed feelings come in: I haven’t seen anyone else mention this, but I get a Play-Doh note that is really prominent. In fact, on me, it dominates the fragrance. And that bums me out, because even when I layer this with other complementary fragrances, the Play-Doh is ever present. For a fragrance that otherwise features notes that I adore, the perfect smell-storm of this combination of scents and in these proportions apparently goes full Play-Doh on me.

I will keep experimenting with layers, as there’s enough charm in this frag to keep me trying. But I do wonder if anyone else is bumping up against the same phenomenon.

barbiegirl

Oh wow! So, so pleasantly surprised by this (very inexpensive) blind buy! For me and on me, this perfume is BEAUTIFUL. I'm wearing it for the first time today. I put it on and left the house for a Target run, for basic stuff like aluminum foil, cat food, etc. and I felt like some kind of domestic goddess walking around with my red cart! Although it deserves a much more elegant venue than Target. It does have a similarity to Jimmy Choo Illicit, which I also really enjoy. Today it is gray, rainy and cold where I live - Place Vendome feels just right for the weather, as it is warm and enveloping with the honey, praline and cedar notes. It's kind of like half-gourmand & half-floral - a stunning combination.

Some reviewers below feel the vibe is too vintage. I disagree with that, but this fragrance does have depth. There's a little bit of seriousness to the sweetness, and it is very classy in that way. Obviously that won't suit every occasion. Timeless, classy, warm, beautiful bottle and cap! Intoxicating and signature-worthy. I can't wait to wear it again!

sophie sanderson

I was so looking forward to trying this to see what it would smell like and what an absolute disappointment I'm not liking it at all and will not be buying it any time soon I don't find their is any thing appealing about it either

MonicaCloud

Wow. Just wow. I can't get enough of Place Vendôme. Pink pepper is one of my favorite notes, executed beautifully here. Combined with honey and vanilla, it adds vibrance and playfulness to the perfume that give me so much joy. The opening smells like luxurious, spicy liquor, and the dry down is very elegant. My favorite vanilla perfume to date. Makes me feel like I'm carefree at the bar of a fancy hotel in the city, splurging on drinks on a starlit night.

Ludmi09

Bought it online because of the good reviews. Unfortunately I can’t stand it. I will have to give it away.

sisina96rv

Love at first sniff. This is a niche quality. I wish it would be a liiitle bit less sweet.

Nevertheless. There's something magnificent about this scent. Everything is perfectly balanced. I instantly felt lemons, honey, peony and praline. And then everything that Jloveparfum reviewer said is true. I also dabbed some of this scent now at the evening. It instantly transfers me into the oriental tales from Thousand and one night.

Just beautiful. One of the best perfumes I have ever smelled. And the reviewer below me is also right, it has that vintage feeling. But I think those "vintages" which I remember from the 80-s were far better creations than the modern ones. Not that I do not appreciate edgy perfumes... I own some. But I dearly miss those "vintage" scents which I remember from my childhood. The were excellent. And they are gone.

Gruhlanska96

It's too vinatagy smell for me. I really couldn't stand it .... uffff 🤢🤮

Jloveparfum

This beauty opens with soft citrus notes and rich flowers dotted with exquisite spices, giving way to a delicate jasmine and warm white flowers bathed in majestic honey and accompanied by a delicious praline. The delicate and feminine fragrance culminates in a powdered base, with the right and balanced combination of benjui and cedar, bringing warmth, sensuality and elegance.

The substantivity on my skin reaches 10 hours, the latter smells like skin. Diffusion is moderate.

I love wearing this perfume at night because it brings me serenity and well-being.

sophie sanderson

I've tried this perfume it is ok I really thought it would be a lot sweeter with some of the notes that are in it it's certainly not a perfume that's took my breathe away let's say I think it's missing some thing Its just not sweet or gourmande enough for me Its just not got that I do really like this perfume about it I actually feel it's quite a boring fragrance to the point would I want to buy it and wear it no I wouldn't

kristamb

I finally bought a mini bottle of this, after having it on my want list for years because of it's comparison to Jimmy Choo Illicit, which I love! This one is very nice. It is a lovely, feminine, mature scent to me. It's soft and cozy, but not too soft where I feel like the fuzziness is off-putting. It's very well blended and I definitely see the similarities to Illicit. Unfortunately, this seems to be Illicit WITHOUT that bright citrus note peeking through the softness. I see citrus listed, but I don't get any citrus. I will have to sample these side by side and give an update on my thoughts. But overall, this is a very lovely, formal feminine perfume. I look forward to wearing it, though it doesn't trump my love for Illicit.

sria

Have come back to add some more thoughts. I bought 50ml of this 2yrs back when world was shutting down. I started with mixed feelings - too floral sweet/prim and proper for my laid back nature. But with time I obsessively find it to be the epitome of sweetness wrapped in elegance. And It comforted/celebrated me through many personal and professional challenges/achievements. Now I have almost finished the bottle - A very rare occasion. And I cannot wait to buy a bigger bottle - repurchasing is something I have never done before.

And also my husband is not a fan of perfumes AT ALL.
This is the only one I can get away wearing and he thinks I just finished having chocolate ( probably the honey/praline/benzoin symphony) and asked me the other day "did you just finish eating chocolate? My neck smells like chocolate where you had your hand". I innocently walked away saying I had no idea how either of us smell that intoxicatingly delectable.

Estela B

I bought Place Vendome EDT first, but I think I like this one more. Well, I like both, actually.
This one is very cozy, and even if it has honey and praline as middle notes they are not overpowering and each component sits gracefully on the composition. I agree this is a far from groundbreaking perfume, someone here said that it's what one would expect of what a "perfume", in general, smells like. I agree, in a good way. It is comfortably a free shop kind of vibe, but the one that can't go wrong, just... can't. It's classy, moderately powdery, grown up woman feeling. It reminds me of perfumes I've smelled on other woman along my life, since I was a kid, but never asked what they were wearing. I guess they were wearing this :) Which can't be true because it was launched in 2013.
It doesn't matter, it has mature, classy vibe, contained yet luminous. And the bottle is something to keep on your dressing table, it will certainly bring it to a higher level, you'll see.

Morex1983

I don’t like this perfume. It’s too generic and very boring

jonbecca

This is such as sunny scent. I think the ad fits the feel of the scent perfectly. Wearing this on a sunny Autumn day is uplifting and cheerful.

sria

I do love it - elegance laced with sweet honey and benzoin.
I was wearing L'heure bleue after a long time. I swear it has similar vibe to vendome place. The difference is vendome is way toned down in vintagey-ness and is more high-energy. Both are incredibly classy and comforting at the same time, which I find rarely done well. Narciso for her EDP one other I can think of.

MarchHare

This is a perfume smells serious, respectable, and grounded, but still very pretty. On me, it projects the woody notes and I hardly get any sweetness or citrus. It smells warm and unisex on my skin, like someone packed flowers and peppercorns into a cedar chest in late summer and let them marinate for a bit. It isn't the most interesting perfume I've ever smelled, but sometimes I don't feel like smelling like carrots or tobacco or dirt. Sometimes sensible is good, and this perfume is definitely that.

I imagine Vivian from "Legally Blonde" wearing this perfume--after she softened up and became friends with Elle, of course. It's soft and elegant, and a great day-to-night option. It could easily be used as a signature scent, and would be appropriate for all seasons. Decent lasting power and projection. 5ish hours before I can no longer smell it, radiates within arm's length for the first 2 hours.

duaa abed

beautiful i like it but it has a vintagy vibe to it smells like perfume my aunt wore when i was a kid , sold it

CrazyRussianChick

Nothing groundbreaking here. Very nice safe fragrance in a gorgeous bottle. As someone already mentioned - not memorable… My go to fragrance when I don’t have a “mood” and don’t know what to wear. Just what Play by Givenchy used to be before I finally finished the bottle. In fact, looking at the notes for both, there’s lots of similarities.

RSB28

Elegant and sophisticated scent, yet not super mature either. White florals bathed in honey, but not in a sickly sweet headache inducing way. Still manages to feel delicate and light. I thought there was pear in this but there isn’t. This is a perfect spring scent and summer night scent. Would definitely not wear this in extremely hot weather because the honey is obviously too sweet in the heat.

Lixa

Very elegant and sophisticated vanilla powdery EDP. Something outside the boundaries of time, just the essence of L'Eternel Feminin.
It smells expensive. The bottle alone looks and feels a million bucks. No plastic, no flimsy crap. This is what they call French Class, people! ;) Insanely great blind buy for me. Also, it's an awesome (and safe) idea for a gift.

Scent 10/10
Longevity and projection 8/10
Presentation 10/10

grapefruit352

Actually, it reminds to me very much new fragrance from Valentino Voce Vita. I have both of those fragrances and I hardly notice much difference between them:).

epona1705

Love this perfume! My signature scent. Grown-up and mature, suitable for any formal occasion. This just goes with anything!

tovasignature

I wish I could smell what everyone else is raving about! On my skin this is sour and confusing. I don't smell any particular flower or any of the honey and benzoin. I've given this several test runs to no avail. I even sprayed it on a piece of cotton fabric and paper; still a confusing mish mash of smells. Maybe mine has gone off. I don't know.

* I just read reviews back from 2015 and someone mentioned cedar amplifying on their skin. I get it! That is exactly all I get from this fragrance. My bottle must be off because all of the top/mid notes are gone. I am left with cedar which doesn't play well with my skin.

fyetan

Sweet floral right from the get-go. It doesn't smell like honey until the drydown. I remember during my honey phase I really wanted this. It is a good example of a honey sweet floral, but not enough HONEY to be the one that ended my search.

rockerchick

I forgot all about this lovely stuff! I have an older review somewhere in here from years ago, but I tried it again today and feel my impression is a little different from before...

Antique, powdery wood notes melded with softly sweet toffee candy- like an antique chest that once housed a womans powder, but is now full of sweet old fashioned caramel toffee. Its sweet, but the softer woods here keep it from being too gourmand. Its like my own little honeyed treasure chest.

grapefruit352

VERY beautiful fragrance, better then I expected!!! Gonna be one of my top-top. I was also blind buying it (there is no any way to test it before purchasing). Bottle is gorgeous, well-made, not a cheapie bottle! The fragrance smells expensive too! To me, it sounds something between Lancome "La vie est belle" and Lancome "Midnight Tresor. "
I was planning before to purchase "Midnight Tresor. ", but right now I do not need it..I got 100 ml of a Place Vendome for a very good bargain..For the same money "Midnight Tresor. " would be impossible to buy even 30 ml. :))
DNA here is Lancome DNA. So, if you like those fragrances of Lancome - it will be quite a safe blind buy for you. Also it reminds some flankers of the Lady Million from Paco Rabanne .
Fragrance is modern (but not pop). Opens up first with an orange blossom. Then comes out roses together with honey. (Tea-roses for my nose, they sound most of the time). I love scent of the roses! Honey here is not sugary. Its just a honey in the spoon, which you hold near your face and feeling the scent. :). First 2 hours projection is quite strong (enough of 1-2 sprays). After 2 hours it calms down, but still heardable within 1 meter from you for awhile.
The fragrance keeps the best and opens up the best by showing all the blossoming flowers- on the skin and on the hair. On the clothes it is more silent.

LaContessina

I'm glad I got it... blind buy based on the recommendations here.
It's really a well crafted fragrance.
First spray is like spraying the original Boucheron, but in a matter of seconds it transforms into distinct one.
A blast of amaretto (the cookie and the liqueur), sweet notes and bitter almonds. Honey.
The central part is heavy on the peony (a note that i don't particularly worship) but then jasmine takes the lead and has a depth that reminds of the huge florientals of the past (i get Oscar de la Renta, Ysatis and Poison vibes... although I'm not saying they're similar).
Sillage is important. Make sure you don't overspray !
The drydown is lovely, cedar and benzoin makes it almost cuddly.
Longevity is quite good; 5 hours on my scent eating skin.
This is a quality perfume, Boucheron never fails me. I'm glad i could get my bottle for just 30 euros before it's discontinued.

bintTapputi

HOW is this $9? This is the greatest cheapie I've ever smelled. If I was told this was by any major designer and was selling retail for $100 I'd believe it and think, eh it's okay. But for $9 it's fantastic. 7.5/10

Edit: Seems like the average price range is around $30 usd, which is more reasonable but still a steal imo!

CdeBXL

My son's favourite, so a soft spot in my heart.

For a brew with prominent sweet notes it is crisp and clean, and just the right amount of honey and praliné and jasmine to set off spice, wood, and zest.
This is, in my humble nose, a less sweet black fruit cousin of Cavalli's Florence and a less peppery Twilly poivrée niece.

Actually, I am showing dishonor to PV by comparing it to these stronger aroma's, since sometimes being more mellow is a good thing. This is the case here. A beautiful scent altogether.
A very strong like!
Edit: make it a luuurrve.

Madyana

With this I swing a little between "great love" or "I like a lot" . This opening is for me the most beautiful combination of honey sweetness orange and sophisticated flowers. I can also smell here the medical twist what gives the scent an adult and expensive impression. I also really like this drying stage, how balanced the notes of the wood combine with the sweetness. perfect, sophisticated scent, but ...
This dies on my skin like maybe too dry(?) wood and that turning this a just little stale to my nose. Still, this still stays in my wardrobe, I would think for a long time. So beautiful Boucheron.

tovasignature

After reading the reviews, I was excited to try a honeyed floral. Well to my nose, this is not it! This smells like a cheap, generic miss-mash of nondescript notes. I cant detect any honey and the only floral is maybe mimosa? This is a dusty fragrance with a musk background. All in all a disappointment and a scrubber, from a well respected house.

natalia6032

This reminds me of honey sweets I used to get when I was little- honey is the predominant note from first spray to dry down, but it is soft compared to other honey scents like Scandal. There are also some subtle floral notes- I can detect jasmine and orange blossom, but no praline or rose as the pyramid suggests. I found it a bit cloying in summer but really enjoying it in winter.

zelelipe

This is so divine! It's not groundbreaking or original but it is extremely well blended and beautiful. It has a clean, fresh, floral scent that is sweet and somehow deep yet light at the same time. I thought this was very weak until I wore it out and realised my scent trail was radiating! It lasts a long time although it settles into a skin scent after a few hours. Up close to the skin where I spray I get more of the benzoin, honey and praline and the trail has more of the white florals present. Very interesting and enjoyable to wear.

Ladylike, elegant and classy fragrance that could be worn by most ages (I would say 25 - 50) as a signature scent. It mixes very well with other fragrances in an effortless way. If you are looking for a heavy hitting, obnoxious fragrance this is not it, but if you want something that will make you smell effortlessly, naturally amazing to yourself and everyone around you then this is a great choice.

I picked up a 100ml bottle for very little and it seems easy to get deals on this but it smells very expensive. You do get a hit of alcohol when you spray initially but this disappears in 5 seconds. The bottle is lovely and I would keep it for that even if I didn't love the juice! Will definitely repurchase and I want to try the others in the range now.

riabanana

To me it smells like every perfume ever. When you think of "perfume", it's this smell. Plain and simple, inoffensive, but also not memorable.

dimitrowa.s

This is one of my favorite fragrances - sweet creamy white flowers drenched in honey, all on a soft woody base. Kinda reminds me of a thick home made dairy ice cream, mmm :) It's really youthful, cheerful and sunny fragrance that I frequently reach for and it just makes my day.
Unfortunately I learned that it has been discontinued and I will be stocking up.

hfigures

Part of my fragrance journey is learning how fragrance can smell different on paper, sprayed in the air and on skin. This one fooled me. I sprayed it into the air and thought meh. It's been sitting on the shelf since early spring, a blind buy for a great price. This modern Boucheron fragrance is classy. It's feminine, pretty and sweet. The praline, honey and orange blossom are a party on my skin. My 50ml bottle is not going to last.

JolieSucre

This is strange. I am very disappointed by this fragrance, to say the least- blind buy (thankfully in the 30 ml bottle), reeked of pencil shavings, dry spices and nothing else. Failed to develop, I dislike the scent and decided to keep it on my bathroom mirror shelf, just for decorative purposes as the flacon is very beautiful.

The reason I am overall disappointed is that I truly expected it to be a sweet, honey-tinged beautiful white flowery creamy aroma, based on the reviews and the YouTube videos raving about this. One YouTube reviewer placed it in her 'beautiful white florals that smell expensive/ like gold', alongside J'Adore, Burberry Body and I can't remember what else. Everyone here spoke about how much they like it and how feminine and warm it is - I just can't see it. Praline notes, honey, to me it's a pepper bomb with woody notes.

Perhaps it is a bottle atomiser issue- I read in other reviews that sometimes perfumes must be given a little spritz and left to 'settle' on their own before blossoming into their real selves. Maybe it has to do with more oxygen entering the bottle as one sprays along and uses the perfume, either way.

It initially opened very dry and rough, like an ugly, masculine, leathery patchouli doused with wood resin and pepper. Nothing feminine, nothing warm, so bad that I checked online reviews of the website I purchased it from.

To be fair now it has (barely) started to develop a bit better, however it's still too masculine, too spicy and too woody. The base is 'balsamic', I don't know what that means but to my nose there is nothing soothing or creamy in this. It did become more feminine than in the morning (it's 22:11 now), I can even smell some Allure-like powdered musk albeit very faint and peppery, but it's overall an improvement from the disaster it was about 12 hours ago.

Hopefully this becomes softer and more feminine, otherwise I don't know why it feels so different from everything all reviews read about it. It does however perform well as a mix, and got me a compliment today, when I layered it with Diesel Red Kiss (anything layered with that would smell great).

RubySpin

I am absolutely stunned from how much I enjoy this scent!

It starts off with a slightly spicy honey and benzoin note with a touch of pink pepper. This is a soft spicy though, one that can be worn outside in the heat without it feeling suffocating. After about a hour I started getting light notes of chocolate/praline and a sweet, soft peony. Place Vendome then plays a game of going from sweet to spicy which is amazing. Just when you think you are getting used to the smell it switches up on you and you can enjoy it all over again! 3 hours in it eventually settles into a creamy gourmand floral mix. I am able to smell cedar only when I place my nose to my arm.

This is very fresh, not at all powdery. I got about 6 hours, with moderate sillage. A modern twist on what an elegant classic scent should be! I'll definitely be looking for a larger bottle than my 0.15oz sample.

chrystelsinclair

A classic. Worn by my grandmother and my mother before me. A scent that lasts through the years and generations.

Beautiful box and elegant bottle.

Even though it's a classic, it's modern and feminine. Very bright and elegant. A boost of white flowers, honey and pralines. Very safe but not too sweet. Soft as a summer breeze. Elegance doesn't mean loud, it means subtle, conformity.

This is not the type of scent that turns heads or makes you stand out. It's lovely and quiet. Very harmonious. Weak to moderate sillage with moderate longevity.

Very mixed feeling

Reminds me of something from the past i dont know. Very mature extreme prim proper style like uptight too. It oscillates between very strong floral sweet (somewhat sharp and screechy) and gourmand warmth. This is my limit for floral sweet. High risk for a headache. If not for the screechiness I would be obsessed. I still feel high chance the mature gourmand warmth will tug me in. I usually go for elegant sophisticated lady-like warm womanly, and i am known to be all that; but I am not uptight and prim proper. This takes away the fluidity and flexibility and room for being human who is to err. And i feel suffocated because of that feeling. Will see how I feel with more wearing. But I can see very clearly sophisticated women with uptight thin-lipped like Rose's mother in titanic aura fitting it to a t.

Update: I tried it again yesterday. Somehow can't stop obsessing over it. It is soo classy with a capital C. Don't overspray. It is strong. But I am not sure yet how long it lasts

Update2: before I knew it, this potion has a spell on me. If you want class and sweetness in one perfect balance, look no further. And I can’t believe the price. I can see myself wearing it for a long while to come.

jonbecca

This perfume is so classy and elegant. It smells lovely and softy sunny. I think the advertising campaign fits this one perfectly. I am going to enjoy wearing this in spring and again as the days get shorter and softer in the fall.

SalinasL

I don’t get any one note in particular, except for a honeyness. It’s the kind of perfume that just is what it is without needing too much dissection. It’s very comforting and soothing to me, like a gentle hug. I often wear it to my job where I work with young children, both because it calms my anxiety and because it seems like a comfy mom-smell for kids who don’t like to be away from their parents. It reminds me of my mom actually even though she never wore it. It’s just that kind of smell. I love it.

gtabasso

I love this but don't seem to smell what others claim to. For me, this went on kind of like Shalimar in the opening with citrus and vanilla then morphed with lots of benzoin and a floral quality that smells like heliotrope with musk. But, benzoin and the tangerine should be the main notes here. I can see peony and orange blossom maybe combining to give the floral impression that my nose got. Sweet, warm, rich and creamy in the opening and dries down a little more woody and like an orchid note in the base when the cedar blends in.

Eugirlsniffs

Nice but boring. It's just one of those 'modern' scents, that have nothing going on except for being sweet and berry-like. Longevity is maybe a few hours. How I wish the perfumes of today would come at least close to the scents of the 80s and 90s. Today all of these new ones smell the same and they have absolutely no character:(

greenbluegray

Now it is summer 2020, when fragrance has become very important to me since I cannot go anywhere. I awoke wanting to wear it today. Cedar pencil shavings and almondy milky vanilla. The bottle looks so expensive and is heavy! I believe a man could wear this well too. I believe if you like Drew Barrymore's Cherished or D&G La Temperance, you would like this too.

==
My sweet friend was wearing this in summer, and it smelled divine on her. We both love florientals. So I grabbed a 10ml online, and it was nice but nowhere like it was on her. Now it is cold November, and I have pulled it out again, oh my, so warming, modern, and clean-sultry, if there is such a thing. I don't normally like rose, but I think the vanilla and citrus blend it well.

I love orange blossom and benzoin. Great alternative to LVEB, similar but more individual somehow. Let's see how it last tonight as I go out. Will anyone notice? Will my spouse who claims to be anosmic yet still comments when something really works for him? HOW can this be $25 for a large bottle on eBay??? I don't have any other Boucheron scents and don't know much about them, but I would not guess them as bargain scents... let me read on.

octobertragedy

I was hesitating for a while to get this one. I tested it in the store for more than 5 times, in various occasions changing my mind over and over...Then I decided to get it mostly because I did not have any Boucheron fragrance in my collection (I know, a very "good" motivation lol). And then...the experience...
Oh WOW, this is a very unique combination between sour-bitter-sweet notes. Definitely honey, benzoin, bunch of floral notes like jasmine, orange blossom, iris. Very well done, very elegant and distinctive. Very hard to describe, but it is in my opinion that kind of fragrance that adds class and refinement to someone's personality.
As many comments, I agree that you like it or don't. I guess my hesitation was due to the bitter notes (probably orange blossom which is not exactly my favorite). I am glad I got it, because underneath I discovered a very beautiful classy fragrance.

Jacquis

This rich, sweetened orange blossom perfume smells very similar to La Vie est Belle L'Eclat but, only in the height of summer. In winter, it becomes a skin scent unlike LVEB. Both are lovely and fill my need for orange blossom fragrances. Very sweet and decadent bedtime perfume as well.

Place Vendome is back up bottle worthy. I cannot believe the great value.

zind

Beautiful, modern, sweet, feminine and elegant.

It's starts out with some beautiful freshness, then turns warm and lovely. I love every stage of this perfume and it's a scent that I feel that I can safely apply for any occation. I can't see how anyone could be offended by this or not like it.

Creamy, honeyed white flowers with benzoin and praline. Really lovely and well done!

Update: this certainly performs a lot better in warm weather! It's getting colder here and it's very fleeting, sillage is so much better in summer - worth taking into consideration when testing!

yantiadi

I have both Place Vendome EDT and EDP as a gift, but they are totally different. While the EDT is more floral and powdery, this one is overly sweet and lacking of freshness feel. Sorry but I have to say the EDP cause a bit of headache. Both doesn't last very long though.

Holli

This smells like a bergamot tea with lots of sugar and honey! I'm really excited to have found it. I feel like I've been looking for a scent like this one. It's gentler than L'instant and other honeys I've had, but the honey is still just as prominent. Really lovely!

Jacquis

I've previously reviewed Place Vendôme in the winter. It was soft, delicate and fleeting. I felt compelled to write this review because PV is a completely different scent in the summer. It is a beast! A honey bomb!

I reached for this perfume thinking it would be a safe choice for the office on a hot 90 degree day. Wrong! It had sweetened so much that it felt full and heavy. The angel kiss that it was in winter was not here in summer. Longevity is much better and projection is also great. It had become a sweet and warm summer evening perfume. This is probably the most pronounced honey perfume in my collection.

CoffeeCup

Omg, I received a compliment today!!! First one in years! Seriously! I get compliments.. Never, tbh. Last time was about a decade ago. So, you see why I'm so excited all of a sudden.
And of all the perfumes it happened to be PV - the one I described in my previous review as an extremely short lived fragrance. I said I can't even decide if I like it because it dissappears too fast. On top of that - my colleague commented on it in the afternoon! And I don't re-apply at work. So there you go.

As for the scent... I'm still confused, i cannot really figure out how it smells. Sweet honeyed white flowers? Fragile ghosts of beautiful flowers who died drowned in imaginary honey... And you can get a climps of them from the corner of your eye only as they dissappear into thin air in the moment you even think of looking directly at them. Bizarre.

AHeartLikeMine

I wanted to like this. I really, really did. But all I smell is "gourmand." It's suffocating and gives me a headache.

Jacquis

Beautiful bottle. Very work appropriate fragrance. Elegant, inoffensive, soft and simple. This fragrance does not project and has no sillage. Disappeared into my skin within 30 mins. I oversprayed this perfume with 10 sprays and this does not change the performance. Good for people who are perfume sensitive. Unfortunately, I am a performance freak when it comes to my outdoor fragrances. Place Vendome is still a beautiful scent which would also be appropriate as an after shower or bedtime body mist.

drawingmaniac35

I bought a mini just to try this one. I am a sucker when it comes to blind buying but thankfully I didn't blind buy a full bottle of this one. It starts amazing- sweet and citrusy on me but then it turns to a weird sugar scent. Really unpleasant to my nose.

annagurl333

Disclaimer: Biased Review. Easily one of my top 10 fav scents.

It starts of citrus and rose. On my clothing I can smell the pink pepper far more than my skin.
Then it becomes more honey and flowers. Not digging the peony but love the jasmine. It blends nicely.
Finally it dries down more gourmand. Honey, praline, cedar. Yum!

This scent last a very long time. Easily all day. Its also super work appropriate, as someone has to stand right next to you to get a whiff. And compliments! I get them regularly when wearing this!
Its soft, its yummy, and I can wear it all 4 seasons.

I also think men could easily wear this scent. A nice sweet soft boozy scent.

rockerchick

Just got my bottle today, (another blind buy.... someone stop me) I was hoping for more honey as per the notes votes, but am still very happy with the scent. Id consider it a light, bright , sweet floral; more sweet than floral, but with a little warmth underneath.

A little harsh at first, but within minutes softens and sweetens up. Stays bright throughout, with little whiffs of honeyed benzoin underneath. Delicious, more mature than my usual gourmands... but not like "old lady" mature, more like "not a high schooler" mature ;)

A strong like from me, may eventually become a love.

Timby

I had hopes for this one... but no. It is, sadly a creation crafted for mass appeal...of the sweet, candy, fruity genre. Most fragrance lines have put out one if not several of these and they are so hard to tell apart, all being variations on a theme.
So, though not a bad fragrance at all, it is however very forgettable.

Nice bottle.

CoffeeCup

It's so fleeting I'm failing to even form an opinion about it. But I kinda like it... the first 5 minutes when I'm able to detect it. I guess I bought it for the bottle. Oh well.

There's honey in it definitely, amplified by pralines, made edgier, sharper by peony. There's probably white flowers somewhere, maybe jasmine, perhaps orange blossom. No rose, no mandarine, no benzoin. Haven't found any of the other notes yet tbh. It's as if it lacks both the top notes as well as the dry down. Oh well. I'll buy other perfumes with more pronunced and more distinct floral notes (looking at you ES Le Parfum.. eau couture and L'Orangerie for orange blossom, Alien for jasmine and NR for her edp, Calligraphy Rose and Stella for rose); and get my sweet fix elsewhere, possibly in a patisserie.

Siv7Stars

Sweetish white floral with underlying powdery rose, subtle and sophisticated. I can see why people keep mentioning Elie Saab. Think I prefer that tbh, it's stronger. Also this has a nutty note I'm not keen on when it appears and this has no sillage to speak of.

senalica

I guess no perfume collection today is quite complete without at least one sweet-warm-candylike fragrance. And there are so many to choose from - pretty much every major perfume house has released one of those sweet/gourmand fragrances during the last few years. Usually they are a headache-inducing nightmare on my skin - too loud, too sweet, too cloying and eventually I end up scrubbing them off. But if I had to choose a sweet and warm fragrance - Place Vendome could definitely be one of my picks. For some reason this one works for me. And if I had to guess - it's probably because it is based on white flowers. The honey sweetness makes it feel a little gourmand, but at the same time it is very well balanced and not too loud on my skin. I feel that Boucheron has done a great job with this. And don't even get me started on that marvelous heavy glass bottle! Beautiful!

HOUSTONHOUSTON

If you like Manifesto hy YSL you will like Place Vendome. The opening is very similar. PV is not as sweet as Manifesto. Very elegant and has layers. Very nice bottle.

carlosalbertoandradecruz

What an amazing scent!
Sweet but not too much!
Strong but not to much!
Subtle but not to much!

For the woman who likes to show how feminine she is!

ChypreAnn

aqua76239 nailed it with her review. It really does have a kinship with Cashmere Mist! It’s more gourmand than CM, but there’s a definite resemblance! I like Place Vendôme a whole lot; I don’t get any metallic, urine, or other funkiness at all. It’s a clean, elegant, complex honey scent to me.

UnOiseauRebel

Like a hot June day at the fair but the candy floss man arrived late and had to pitch down-breeze of the loos; hot spun sugar, a little jasmine, a little chemical lavatory. Gorgeous bottle; cut and weighted like a crystal decanter. Except instead of a Chateau d'Yquem, it contains a Sodastream starter syrup.

edweena.1

This is a very sweet, very pretty fragrance, HOWEVER, every once in a while I get a faint whiff of . . . Pepto Bismol. It must be some reaction with me because no one else seems to have this effect.

Will have to give it an all day wear to see if the pepto hangs on.

almondcookie

This was a blind buy. So glad I took a chance. Absolutely stunning bottle. It is tolerably sweet.

aprilsandoval0704

I bought this perfume in the middle of a frigid winter with very high hopes. The bottle is so beautiful and I usually love Boucheron...my husband wears their scents beautifully and with the weather being snowy and frigid I really thought I'd love this scent but-no.

It smells gorgeous out of the bottle-very strong, very peachy and very very sweet-cloyingly sweet. I thought that, with the dry down, the overwhelming peach scent would vanish a bit and leave some of the other notes open to interpretation but that never happened. I tried for the entire winter to fall in love with this perfume and it always ended with me getting a wicked migraine.

My twin sister is a lucky girl tho. She scored a pricey perfume AND it smells stunning on her. Ah well..

meliecat

Well Fragranticians, after long time pondering if I was to bother with this perf- based on your reviews, mainly - today I got a chance to get my hands on a 100ml bottle for a mere 28 euros and I just had to make it mine..
I am a big fan of Boucheron, although not every fragrance from them would I be a fan of..I obtained the elderly sister, L`Elixir about a year ago (also on sale..) and I was a bit disappointed: the initial chaos of notes made me retch and had to wait at least 20-30 minutes for the goodness to come out. I was on and off using it in winter, as it has a particular `burned wood` smell in the drydown, which suits the winter months.
And of the original fragrance, PV: I find barely any similarity with Elixir, there is a hint of wood here too - cedar, apparently - but this juice here is prominently sweet, I agree with a lot of you saying `just another sweet perfume, meh, what for, waste of money etc.`, I think on the other hand, that if I was to own a `popular sweet scent`, it should be this one. I like the honey-praline-cedar combo, I get tangerine, orange blossom and BENZOIN too! This could be the explanation for my being in favour of this scent, anything else - if it`s there at all - is barely there at all, on me anyway. The bottle is really pretty! I mean, I`d have it just for the bottle alone. The sillage is something I`m not really happy with though. Could it be that PV was meant for summer, and L`Elixir for winter? Anyway, I guess if you can get your hands on it for a few bucks, you`ll end up with `a pleasantly trendy frag` in my opinion. (Wearing it kinda makes me feel younger too, which the really sugary sweet frags never did, only ridiculous..)

Estela B

Smells like cozy fancy french bakery. Sweet but not too much. I usually don't like sweet scents but this one is, again, very well balanced, just like anything else from Boucheron. Love this label each day more.

whitewing

I first tried this in the winter, and found it overpowering. Second try is summer, but with spring temperatures- or rather room temperature. Now it is perfect! I was even able to wear more than 1 spray to the back of my neck!

KarlekLila

Received a small sample of this in a swap. Its has been on my "want" list for years and I finally got to test it. Sadly, I was sorely disappointed in this one.

I own the lovely edt. Though the edt has little lasting power it is a soft, creamy, musk and peony scent. I'm quite fond of the edt. Thus after reading so many reviews of the edp I was excited to try a "richer, sweeter, longer lasting" fragrance of honey and praline and orange blossom. Unfortunately all that my skin picks up is an unpleasant mix of indolic jasmine and orange blossom rather reminiscent of citrus toilet cleaner. After putting up with it for some time in hopes of improvement a urine like reek of rancid honey and sour citrus began to emerge. And I LOVE honey scents.. Réminiscence Tonka is an absolute favorite. Ive never had such a reaction to a honey note. This one is a definite scrubber! Ugh! So glad I was able to test this before I blind bought the gift set. Taking this off my "want" list.

Andreab969

Has anyone else purchased the bottle and been dismayed that the fragrance name is NOT on the bottle??? I love the frag but I just emailed Boucheron complaining of this change. It's unacceptable!

arwenamin983

I blind bought a 50ml EDP. This perfume starts so excitingly but then it quickly goes downhill. In the initial notes, I can smell the tangerine, pink pepper, rose, and orange. The combination is warm and enveloping, like a scented hug, with the notes well blended but still retaining enough individuality to make them fun. But then that beautiful smell gives way to a honey, praline and peony smell. It must be because of the honey and praline because I love every other note in it (peony, orange blossom, pink pepper, rose, orange, and cedar - not that I can smell them all here but I know them from other perfumes). That middle smell is so disappointing. Although it's sweet, it's also very dry and it hurts your nose like super dry air does. Cold and very sharp. There's no vibrancy to it and smells metallic. Yet I mentally understand why others like it and consider it elegant - it's just my nose who strongly opposes. Or perhaps I just don't like the interpretation of jasmine in this one. It's too pungent in this combination. See lastcenturymodern and valbona.bergma. I think the unpleasant note is common with Tresor In Love, Poeme, D&G The One, 1881, and Amarige, all containing jasmine.

Enormous sillage, especially the top notes. Projection - similarly. But then it plays Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and completely changes smell. The two smells are completely un-alike, like a broken promise or multiple personalities. After that, the scent becomes as mature as a withered eggplant and about as attractive. At that point, the projection drops, the sillage disappears, and the scent becomes kind of cloying or boring. It's actually hard to describe why it's unpleasant. It's not a hate-it unpleasant or nauseating smell. It's simply not beautiful anymore. Just honey with some almost gone citrus notes. Or perhaps the combination between peony and pralines.

Blind buy but at least mom likes and uses it. It's not in her favorites though. That makes me wonder if she likes it-likes it or if she likes it-don't-throw-it-away-likes it.

Edit: I found that the note I dislike must be indolic jasmine. Before the horror installs and after it's finally gone, the perfume is quite nice. Unfortunately, that means most of the 6 hours wear time. It's a shame because I love the top notes.

Andreab969

Boucheron never disappoints me. Place Vendome is elegant, exquisite and absolutely lovely. It has a sophisticated sweetness but is not a candy like fragrance. From top notes to dry down it emanates its' gorgeous notes subtly but clearly. I love it!

kimmielynn

Place Vendome is SIMPLY STUNNING!
Where has this bright and vivacious fragrance been hiding from me?
This scent is mature but not to be worn only by the mature woman.
It is elegant, and traditional, but not at all dated.
It is refined but somehow manages to be coquettish too.
PV exudes wealth and would shine at any formal affair. She would also be arrantly appropriate for a long walk on the beach at sunset with a lover, or in a conference with a client.
To my nose it opened with yummy honey and orange blossom.
The light shower of pepper is perfect with the Truffle, Jasmine and discreet Rose elements.
The Benzoin is the perfect ingredient to add a touch of Vanilla-ish heaven, which rounds out this stellar creation.
This is a perfectly balanced and well rounded fragrance.
This wore well on me for about 5 hours. Sillage is moderate to slightly heavy.
After wearing her several times now, I cannot imagine my fragrance collection without it! I can see another bottle of this headed my way very soon!
Place Vendome is a SUPERBLY, multi faceted fragrance, in a equally astounding, multi faceted bottle.
I have been searching forever, for what I would want to call my signature fragrance...Place Vendome, could just be what I have been longing for.

mschnabel666

I love sweet perfumes, and crave honey-florals... so I found this for a great price (new tester) and blind bought.

I like it! Fans of honey florals will find this easy to like. It's not unique or groundbreaking, but it's very pleasant, sophisticated, and above average sillage/potency.
If the Elie Saabs are too strong for you, this could be the next best thing. :) They don't smell alike, however.

It's a grown up, refined Lady Million... which is why I blind bought it.

I do wish I got stronger gourmand notes, like the praline... but overall this is very likable, and a solid like from me.

And LOVE the bottle.

Soofiya

I couldn't wait for cold months and gave it away in a swap, just looking at it's lux, pretty bottle was a pain for me,everytime that I sprayed it,sharpness of a liquid soap burned my nostrils and I could smell nothing more,I thought it's something in the vein of armani code, lady million, elie saab le parfum, jimmy choo illicit,a combination of honey, white florals and fruity/citrus notes that seems I never become tired of it,but nope.so I decanted 5ml for myself in a bottle to try it again and gave my almost full bottle away
Last night,I saw elixir version in a shop, tried it and strangely liked it so I decided to retry my little decant(it's middle of autumn now and an almost cold day)
As soon as I sprayed it,again there was that dry, very sharp blast of cleaning product.it's dry, crisp and clean and classy but doesn't have slightest hint of sweetness,I didn't continue to smell my hand and decided to wait and smell it after 20 minutes, that soapy, powdery smell is faint and in the background(and now that it's faint it feels lovely and powdery)I can detect jasmine, orange flower a hint of peony and tangerine in a base of creamy benzoin, most dominant notes on me are orange blossom and benzoin,I still can't get any honey or praline but I don't mind, now it's tolerable.it's quite pretty, nice and warm.there's something in this powdery, creamy orangeblossom confection that reminds me JPG classique and Marly safanad, two perfumes that I adore but it lacks there vanilla sweetness.now,I can change my dislike mark to like
Still I don't like it enough to rebuy but if I still had it,I'd keep it.I'm sad and happy the same time.I promise to myself that I will never give up on any perfume that I own,not before using half of it
P.s:
To my nose it has nothing to do with Jimmy choo illicit which is a favorite.illicit is a lovely honey perfume with healthy dose of ginger, white florals, citruses, black opium type of vanilla and creamy base notes.they notes may seem similar but they're totally different. Illicit is a ladylike gourmand

Ladymom59

Ladylike, very pleasant, fresh and crispy, yet as elegant as you want a perfume to be for office or under the sun; I love it! But you must be patient: the first spray is not what I expected, if you, like me, look at the gorgeous bottle, the brand name and impeccable packaging. But once the time passes by it becomes a sweet, (not too sweet that bothers), creamy and velvety juice which shows very well the mix between jasmine and honey. For me "Boucheron Place Vendome" is a great scent to wear at work and I assure you will feel you are special and it will gain you a lot of compliments.

skyneverfall

The jasmine, pepper and praline are so strong on my skin. When I first spray it on, I thought "what is that sensual-sweet scent?" then I came here to take a look at the notes. And it makes sense why I got the sensual sweet feeling from it. The perfume is very sweet but not in a cheap way, it is an expensive sweet scent. You might first think this is a typical sweet scent but no...., it is not just plain sweet. It is a complex sweet but not too complex until it's all become one scent. I be able to notice jasmine, rose, praline, honey, pink pepper, and peony. Very feminine, warm and sexy. I picture a woman with high confident for this perfume. She is a young big boss who knows what she want and what she can do.

theredpony.1

It only took one sniff to know this is a cut above; very French, very sophisticated. I'm looking forward to wearing and getting to know this lovely lady. I think this may belong on my top shelf!

rhaineclayton

The bottle is stunning. But, sadly, the scent just seems so...dull. I'm not getting any praline or honey. It smells so much like a few other unremarkable perfumes I've tried. Perhaps, I'll have to give it another try in cooler weather or something :/
Not a dislike, just a disappointment.

hails_blogger

This fragrance is so feminine. When I first sprayed this on my wrist it turned so powdery and I just felt like I had smelt this before. It reminds me of Sicily by dolce and gabbana!

aqua76239

This was a blind buy for me at a discount store and I never heard of this scent before. Obviously I know Boucheron and sampled most of their scents, just not this one.
Upon reading reviews on there, I am flabbergasted why several people compared it to Goldea by Bulgary because it's not even in the same ballpark. Or Mark Jacobs Dot??
Dot is a fruity floral so NO WAY
Boucheron is a woodsy floral oriental-I can't say I smell anything floral really-it's sweet but woodsy and almost has a slightly powdery note.

In some way, it reminded me of Cashmere Mist because it has same "feeling" if you will.
Goldea, is more of a "regular" floral oriental that is fairly sweet but not really woodsy or powdery like Boucheron. So I wouldn't say those two are in any way similar.

I like it, it's a scent that is rather sophisticated and has a "mature" feel to it. Bottle is heavy and looks expensive.
I don't love it though so I doubt I will get it again. However, it's a nice well made scent

Soofiya

I'm a boucheron fan and I own and love most of boucheron fragrances,I find them appealing, high quality and multi layered..simple at first sniff but there is a magic in their heart that after couple of wearings changes them from a simple like to love for me
Boucheron place vendome looked like a love at first sniff for me,I love honey and I love my perfumes to be sweet and floral,I thought there is no need to test because I believe a single test can't do justice about most boucheron perfumes,to be honest this was not a blind buy,I sprayed it once on a paper and got whiffs of soft, warm sweet florals, now I think that maybe that day my nose was tired..I bought a 3.4 Oz bottle with that single test(by the way,it's bottle is very elegant and expensive looking, exactly what I expected and wished the juice inside would be)
Boucheron place vendome is a big dissapointment for me,it's nothing like lovely reviews and notes would suggest and God knows I'm really easy going about perfumes and hardly dislike anything
I can't detect even slightest amounts of honey or praline or benzoin or any thing sweet here..not just on my skin, there is nothing warm or sweet even on my clothes,I even can't detect specific floral notes,it's all about soap!
I think floral notes blend in this way and result is a very sharp, clean soapy smell, not a rosey creamy dove soap which I like,,it's a specific expensive soap which I can't remember it's name, and it's veryyyy sharp, cold and I'm afraid to confess I really dislike it
Please don't remove this review it may help others like me,though I've not gave up on it yet, I'm still waiting for boucheron's magic to show another face of this scent,a warm sweet gorgeous face..I'm going to try it again when it's colder maybe it doesn't like hot temperature
P.s:I can see no similarities between this one and edt version, edt is a summary powdery floral with fresh citrus undertone, very pretty

freddinos

I wanted this perfume from the day it debuted. Somehow its name and photo ad made me think of lovely times with my husband in Paris, strolling on Place Vendome being happy and in love.
Imagine my surprise when I found it at TKMaxx; I thought 'this can't be good' but bought it anyway. And what a disappointment. Forgettable, synthetic jasmine bordering on nauseating. No honey, no other white florals, no association with its name whatsoever. I cannot believe that a house like Boucheron released such mediocrity. It felt like J'adore's very poor relative, bottle and scent.
Sad.

tandaina

I was gifted a full bottle of this by a generous member of this page. I'm just getting a chance, a nice sunny 70 something day. This is very pretty.

The scent image that comes to mind for me is candied roses mixed with crystalized honey dusted with powdered sugar. There is nothing wet or dewey here, the honey isn't running. The whole thing is frozen in time, good enough to bite into. Two sprays only and I'm surrounded by a pleasant cloud of scent that has lasted all day and managed to stay strong while riding my horse and doing barn chores. If it can handle that it can hold up to pretty much anything you can throw at it. Quality.

GreenPistachio

This one is moderate strong to me. I smell honey and jasmine/floral but the notes are very blended. I thought that I did not like jasmine. I find the essential oil that I got at the health food store to be overwhelming. But in here I really like it. It is strong/sweet and now that it's spring I can't wear it. In colder weather I do like this though. There's only the slightest hint of citrus. I don't notice benzoin the way I do in Infusion d'Iris EDP. That one seems rich and soapy.
Edit: I assumed benzoin had a resin/incense smell but I'm seeing it described as it having an "aroma reminiscent of vanilla". That fits with this fragrance, it's sweet, honey, floral and NOT soapy.

lastcenturymodern

Champagne? Chocolate? Yeah, no. This is just the most mediocre of mediocre, average of average clean-floral-pseudo gourmands that smells like almost anything and smells like absolutely nothing. I don't mind bad perfumes, at least there's something to make of them, a reason worth thinking about, a direction, a style, something. But this, in math terms is the sort of thing you'd get by adding every redundant designer release of the past 5 years and then dividing that by the number of bottles involved. And to top that off, it's not even the least bit pleasant. You'd get a dupe by mixing laundry musk and sugar.
As a movie character this would be Pedestrian B whose foot can be seen in the bottom right corner of the screen for exactly 0.76 seconds.
Unnecessary.

I've not tried it on my skin, but when I sprayed it on a clean cotton pad all I got was a rather intense face powder smell. I'm wondering what causes that particular scent (orange blossom perhaps?) because I've smelled it in other fragrances. I don't dislike it, but I'm not overly fond of it, either. I suppose I should try it on my skin just to see if it develops further, but I can tell that this is an elegant, soft, inoffensive fragrance.

Another sweet perfume .. nothing special about it ...

This is a very lovely scent. It's unique. It's not over powering.I really like it.

Reminds me of Lyon. In this city I smelled this beautiful perfume for the first time (at that time I didn't know what the perfume it was) - a woman at the intersection so I've never met her again so this perfume... until a blind buy! I read the reviews that this perfume reminds of France, I decided to give it a try without high hopes though and it turned out to be true! In my case - literally. For me there is something from the old school perfumery that you don't find these days but it's also very modern at the same time. Was surprised that Place Vendôme is classified here primarily as sweet, I'd say that it's more floral than sweet with some citruses in the opening. And the sweetness here isn't gourmet. Very feminine. Love.

P.S. Beautiful bottle, long lasting.

Summer weather update: the end of March, East coast, DC +25C (+77F) It's sweet. It's primarily sweet and I could barely catch the notes that I like in this perfume so much. Set aside until autumn.

valbona.bergman

Well...not sure what to think of this. I liked the opening of this perfume despite the generic sweetness but then it subsided to a not very interesting scent. It can be used for everyday, nothing special and the bottle is much more interesting than the scent itself.

kocicka

Absolutely charming, elegant, sophisticated and classy perfume Place Vendôme but it is taken in a more modern way, very trendy sweetness for ladies over 40.
It's very wearable, perfectly balanced, noticeable. I've gotten a few compliments from co-workers male and female.:-)

charmedbella

This was a blind swap. Many of my blind swaps are not successful, but Place Vendome is completely lovely.

The bottle is absolutely gorgeous. Heavy, faceted glass. Classic and sophisticated. It looks beautiful on a dressing table or vanity.

The scent is just so pretty. Elegant, yet dreamy. It could be a nice beginners gourmand, as it is not totally gourmand, but has elements of honey and praline, yet the white flowers keep Place Vendome grounded and chic. It's never too much or over-the-top.

Sillage is soft, understated, and refined, but with wonderful longevity. This would be a very safe office scent or perhaps something feminine and inoffensive for a job interview. Place Vendome makes a fine daily scent -- easily dressed up for the office or worn with a crisp, white button-down.

I can also imagine stylish Hamptons ladies or Upper East Side women wearing this in the summer in pretty white dresses and pearls. I don't know why, but the color "white" comes to mind while I'm wearing this. Pale pink or beige too. A scent for a bride or bridesmaid, perhaps.

Place Vendome is innocence and elegance. Prim and proper, as another reviewer put it. Tasteful, refined, and a smart finishing touch for any polished outfit.

IleanaM

This perfume became one of my favorites very elegant without being overpowering, can definitely smell the pink pepper, the tangerine and the cedar gives this amazing perfume the perfect balance between the flower, sweet, and wood makes Boucheron Place Vendome one of my favorite fragrances.

Dierre

Place Vendôme is easily one of the most lovely fragrances in my wardrobe. It is charmingly feminine and portrays a sophisticated elegance. I would expect nothing less from Boucheron, and I am very pleased with this fragrance.

The white flora seem fresh yet warm, the orange blossom smells divine, and the soft scented rose seems as if it was dipped into diluted honey. Because of past experience, I tend to be hesitant to wear perfumes with praline and benzoin. But they work delightfully well in this perfume and I am enjoying them.

♥ Longevity is long lasting.
♥ Sillage is moderate.
♥ I definitely will repurchase!

ismellsogood

This to me smells exactly like delicious sherbet and Champagne. At once! End of.

Nikkafragrance

First sniff - strong pink pepper. Second one - honey, benzoin and pralines. Third - jasmine and peony. It reminds me of something, but I can't figure out what. Maybe of Lady million because of the honey note. Lovely! The only disadvantage is sillage.

Negative review, w/ my sincere apologies; & utmost respect for admirers- This review is merely my own personal opinion. I humbly thank you all, for permitting a counter-view :b (As follows):

Sad corporate sell-out / departure from Boucheron's original daring perfume treasure- Boucheron; A complex, woody, spicy, artfully balanced & blended floriental. In contrast, this House now seems reduced to pander to the industry's lowest common denominator- Mass sweet-fume.

Sheer (transparent) Gourmand; Cotton candy-floral w/ notably airy & gauzy effect (vs. thick & caramel). I think this is it's most distinctive aspect: Translucent, spun sugar, yet w/ impressive presence. Cloying- Progressively sweetens during heart & base. Energizer Bunny sillage & longevity. The bottle (!Gasp!) is the exquisite masterpiece here- Perfume, meh :( Lacks a spine. Or brain. Or heart. Soul-less clone.

Place Vendôme - It is hard for me to put into my own words why I am truly fascinated and overjoyed to have this as part of my collection. I know this isn’t what some may come to expect from Boucheron…something heavy and lingering trail, a monster fragrance? No, it is not a monster fragrance nor is it super strong sillage or explosively strong. I love heavy, strong, in your face type of fragrances; so what do I find in this that has left me sort of speechless?

Sometimes beauty comes in some level of simplicity. No, Place Vendome isn’t simple as it is masterfully mixed and by no means simple. However it is not exactly an a·vant-garde or eccentric scent and that, is its beauty. There is a certain level of elegance, class, power and ethereal beauty. It is rich in honey, citrus, sweet flowery vibe, the sun captured in a gorgeous bottle. Yes I truly get the concept behind this fragrance, the story of light.

Sillage is moderate but the longevity is fabulously long lasting.

Narkus

This has become my new signature-- as in I wear it three times a week in rotation : ) on my skin citrus comes out much more than others from the note rankings: Jasmine and orange blossom perfectly blended with the citrus weaved intricately through and delicately glazed in honey -- gently sweet and not gourmand. It's a warm, femine, floral elixir! Longevity and silliage is very good on my fragrance eating skin. The bottle is beautiful and the price is amazing online.

After purchase update:

Well...
It is lovely, but...
It's like there is not a good chemistry with my skin, I have to douse it so I can smell it and I have a sense it does not stay there for more that... half an hour.
Also the fragrance is lovely but on my skin it just is not that special.
So I'm glad I purchased the 50 ml bottle and when it's over, it's over for good, baby.
Don't think I'm buying again Boucheron.

AngieGCarp

Elegant lady in a bottle...so soft and lovely, really, anywhere appropriate.

Lybarra118

Who knew that honey drenched orange blossoms could be so beautiful? It's prim and proper yet playful and carefree. Sophisticated and confident but never taking itself too seriously. Something I imagine Audrey Hepburn would wear. And I don't particularly like orange blossoms (the bitter/citrusy/floral smell does funny things on my skin), so I never would have imagined myself loving this. But I do. The opening is orange blossom all the way, but a few seconds in, a very realistic honey coating takes over and dominates, and it's yummy without being foody. It's as sweet as honey without any of the cloying attributes. It's not heavy or sticky. About an hour in, both accords mingle perfectly. At times I get hints of powder, but it seems to come and go. It's not a full-on powdery scent.
Longevity is about 8 hours on skin, 12+ on clothes, but projection goes moderate-to-soft quickly. That bottle though...gorgeous and heavy and deserves front row in any collection.

Why this scent isn't mentioned regularly in the threads is beyond me, especially when honey or orange blossom recommendations are needed.

Update: This sort of has a D&G Pour Femme vibe, with honey instead if marshmallow.

Emma0714

Place Vendôme makes you feel elegant, wrapping you in a warm, floral-honey dress that never becomes cloyingly sweet.
Perfect for "everyday wear". With that I mean that it goes well with many different moods, since it's not overpowering at all. Elegant and safe. I really like it! And the bottle.... Piece of art! Feels really prestige. I just wanna put it on the windowsill in my imaginary Parisian apartment next to some white peonys and croissant.

Hipchick40

Talk about versatility, I wore this to the pool today for a lazy afternoon of sun with my kids and some friends. It was awesome! I kept getting smells of it while the moms and I sat and talked, watching the little kids play in the shallow water and the big kids were off on their own. The environment was swirling with smells of coconut suntan oil, chlorine, flowers blossoming near the fence around the pool and wet cement baking in the sun. Still, this scent rose above it all and made me feel so happy! It lasted the whole time we were there and everyone near me said how great it smelled. Like springtime happiness in perfume form.
Next is my shower, putting on a nice sundress and letting my hair dry naturally while my husband grills some dinner and I make a fruit salad. It will then transition, I'm sure, into a delicate yet casual warm summer night smell on me. These are the days that memories are made from and I can't wait to associate this smell with happy days, just like this. Num.

TassieDk

I like this A LOT. I think I Love it. It's sweet and summery. It is not tooth-achingly sweet (well, I have a sweet tooth, but yeah, I think it could be sweeter than this). I think I'd like to buy a full bottle of this one when my no-buy is over. I have tested several samples these last couples of weeks, and this is one of my only favorites. :)

Update 25th August 2015: I don't love this after all. It's still just a "like"... maybe even a dislike. I tried a few sprays from a sample. I still think it smells sweet, but right now it mainly smells like "old lady". Its smell is a bit weird -- it might be my sample has turned, or it might be that this is just not the right season for it (it's still summer and maybe that's too hot). Or maybe it's just the way it really smells. I have to say that its longevity is very good. I applied some before I showered and I can still smell it fairly well. I will give it a couple of tries more before I make up my mind up about it completely.

Boucheron – “ Place Vendome” 06.02.2015

I am out of words in my effort to describe how elegant this perfume is.

If you, like myself, are completely tired by the sexy, provocative type of fragrances then, give this one a try.

The reason why I like it so very much is because it is very feminine yet, it lacks sexuality or flirtatiousness.
It is elegant, chic, ladylike, clean, powdery, creamy, never overpowering, full of roses, creamy vanilla, sensuous jasmine, fresh peony and a hint of honey. However, it is not sugary neither is it a gourmand.

It is light and delicate with an excellent balance of blossoming flowers and sweetness but, without sugary notes or heavy bases.

It is really a fantastic creation, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

Enjoy the perfume quest.
Regards
Josephine

Bought last year. Tried to like it and just couldn't. The bottle, gorgeous, BUT, I can't wear the bottle. Most of the scent was great, but I think the cedar in it was not working for me.
Traded her for Le Carven EDT. Much happier with this fragrance, not so much it's bottle. lol

Dufteren

Now this perfume is very nice indeed, but I have to compare it to he EDT pink bottle.

The EDP is more mature in style, the notes are maybe a little less sweet and more well behaved? The drydown of the EDT and EDP is quite similar and I find it after a while difficult to tell them apart, exept that the EDP does have greater staying power and silage.

But of the two the EDT still wins my heart, it is in the initial beginning where you find the major difference between the two versions, the EDT is so lovely sweet and happy, it is like she is laughing out loud in all her youthful innoscence.

The EDP does smile, but she is a lady and does so in a more restraint and calm manner.

Venusia

Fine scent in a gorgeous bottle, but this strong swetness in combination with benzoin has a nauseating effect on me. I had to give it away.

rainbow.owl2

I find this scent to be very uplifting and cheerful, perfect for spring days.

margarita.angelova

The true masterpiece here is the bottle. So beautiful.

The scent itself is right on the border of sweetness I can tolerate. It is very easily likable but it's just nothing that special and interesting on its own. You've smelled this thousands of times before.

This is one of those perfumes that do not add to your personality but rather if you're a woman of character, you could give a totally new and intriguing meaning to an otherwise standard smell. Therefore if you're not the one to stand out, you should probably be careful with this scent because it would make you blend in even more.

Being so usual makes it very versatile in terms of season and time of day and could be applied to numerous settings - casual or formal, really depends on how you wear it. Good as a gift and also good for someone who prefers to maintain a smaller perfume stash.

hintay

smell as hair spay . Longevity is large. But i dont like it

Ju Toledo

Cadê a criatividade? Será isso uma tendência baseada no perfil dos novos consumidores? Vou me calar...
Quem curte La Vie est Belle com certeza vai gostar dele. Eu passo!

Place Vendôme is so beautiful. It reminds me of how perfumes used to smell when they were distinctively "perfume". The topnotes to me are honey and orange blossom...and they are enchanting. On my skin this smells new and exciting...yet deeply familiar. I can't yet place what this is remindng me of...Safari perhaps? I know there's a strong rose note, but my nose doesn't tell my brain "rose" here. I sense orange blossom throughout, with a tinge of peony. The wear begins with honey-powder, and dries down to praline blended with benzoin. Love it.

The overall look and feel of Place Vendôme is that of an elegant French perfume (which it is, of course). The thick, padded glass bottle with a bejeweled gold cap makes a gorgeous boudoir piece. Place Vendôme is really a standout to me out of all the new fragrance releases I've tried since 2013.

I guessed that Olivier Cresp had something to do with the exquisite blend of musky and sweet...and I was correct.

A masterpiece

I decided to buy a perfume for my birthday and I knew I'm going to buy something I've been dreaming about for a long time - Chanel Coco Mademoiselle ( a full bottle, so far I've had only some samples and a decant). I entered that glamorous shop, a real Chanel look and attitude, took my time, tried some perfumes (keeping in mind what I'm going to buy actually) and then I tested this. And all my Chanel dream started to fade away. This amazing scent is something very special! Rich, warm, sweet (not sickening sweet), very elegant, feminine, French in the end!
The opening is fresh (could be the tangerine and pepper mixture), but then quickly becomes warm (honey, praline), hugging, but still elegant due to a sophisticated flower composition (the jasmine is subtle, yet so beautiful, so sensual). Then on my skin I felt some classic, but light rose powder, which I loved instantly. And the base - a pure luxury, a sensual, adult, a bit reserved elegance. Yes, it has something in common with Elie Saab, the same luxury, the same vibe. And the bottle is adorable, a piece of French classic vintage wonder.
I sprayed this on one wrist and the Chanel Coco Mademoiselle on the other and walked out of the shop to see how they both change on my skin. Really- sometimes this scent smelt even better than my dream Chanel. Like some golden, sparkling champagne, a transparent veil of elegance and a proof of a good taste. But I had to decide for I couldn't take both. In the end I bought Chanel 50 ml bottle following my dream (and I don't regret), but this was hugging me everywhere I went that day. In the evening I ordered it. Now It's on my wrist. A big, big love. Something really beautiful, "real", and maybe underrated.

I was really surprised when I tried it. I am no fan of Boucheron Maison, I mean, nice quality perfumes, no doubt about that, but not my particular taste... up to now.

Place Vandome surprised me in a positive way, romantic, different, wearable, thumbs up, I'm entering it on my wish list.

epiprocta

-EDP version-

From the nose behind Midnight Poison and Light Blue, Boucheron presents a warm, confident and elegant scent that brings to mind the image of brilliant sunlight, money and a modern woman - young or old - with a classic, refined taste.

That is what Place Vendome is to me, a scent that seems to the capture old Parisian bricks and expensive Parisian stores of Place Vendome in summer.

At first spray, Place Vendome opens with a thrilling pink pepper dusted over a bed of orange blossom with delicate rose petals that complement the blossom notes without distracting as the florals soften, and for a short while give room to a subtle, bitter-citrus tangerine peel.

As the tangerine and orange blossom fades, I can pick up brief notes of nutty praline here and a hint of benzoin and cedar while the base of peony and jasmine is maturing, sweetened by a bit of honey. Sometimes, the honey comes out strong on my skin, sometimes I can barely notice it among the other notes. The perfume in its' main stage seems sweet, warm and comforting, although not candy-like or adolescent in any way.
Cedar and benzoin hold this fragrance together and give it depth that distinguishes it from a mainstream sweet, white floral perfume.

I believe Place Vendome deserves more attention than it has received. This is a luxurious and well-blended fragrance with great design and a pleasant smell that isn't too extravagant or overwhelming. The sillage is small to moderate, so you can comfortably talk to a person without wearing them down.

The only downsides is that the perfume becomes quite close sitting after the initial strong opening. I recommend wearing it in a warm setting to bring out its' full potential. Also, I wish the scent had something more added to it to make it truly unique. Overall, I highly recommend this scent. It might not be a new cult classic, but it is far more pleasant than many of the current best sellers.

Pure luxury! I loved this one right from the beginning.
It's sweet and light white floral, smells very exquisite.
Orange blossom and honey mix perfectly, I think this is really lovely composition!
I also love how pepper, praline and benzoin smell togheter in this perfume.
If some perfume is well done, it's this one!!
This is my new favorite now.

Miffy8900

This one is apparently not very popular here in Denmark, and it is hard to find. I don't understand it - to me is like one of the new modern classics, in the same category as Chanel Mademoiselle og Armani Sí.
Luckily I got it on Strawberrynet.com with a 3.4 oz/100 ml., body lotion and showergel in a christmas giftbox, with 70 % off , and I LOVE it !
I must admit, that a big part of me wanting this, is the beautiful bottle, which is even more pretty and exclusive in real life. Especially the massive 100 ml. bottle is a stunner on a dresser, with its thick, heavy cut out glass, gold label and pretty cap. In my opinion is this one of the best bottle designs ever. A true classic.
Now to the juice itself: when first sprayed, it is very citrusy, but not in a zesty way - more like sweet lemon drops. Then it turns into a very white floral with a hint of orange blossom, and of course honey, which is the most prominent note to me.
It is very powerful and projects well, and last for ages, but it can also be a bit overwhelming, so spray carefully ! It can be headache inducing if sprayed to much at one time .
To me it smells rich, exclusive and most of all French. It smells like how I imagine a confident, educated, elegant, classy woman from Paris, wearing high heels, skirt suits and pearls.
A new favorite :)

Lilithorvat

At first it smells of rich luxury soap (hint of citrus), the kind you get at five star hotels. Then it softens into a beautiful bouquet of honey sweet peonies. This smells incredibly POSH. To me, this is the more mature and sophisticated dupe of Marc Jacobs Honey, with a more glamorous bottle to boot.

5/5, GORGEOUS GOURMAND FLORAL!

ask247

I actually got this unexpectedly, as a bonus sample with another perfume I ordered. I had to at least give it a try since the perfume I ordered was unfortunately not my taste at all.
I smelled the cap and wasn't sure, as it smelled like another too fruity floral, but what did I have to lose. I spritzed a little on my wrist and waited...to my surprise it started to develop in to the loveliest soft fragrance, sort of powdery (which I usually dislike in a perfume)but powder-floral if that makes any sense. Come to think of it, it "kind of" reminds me of Baby Magic Baby Lotion with a perfume kicker.
With that said, it is obviously much more complex with a slight grit to it, as it develops.
The fragrance is just a soft linger-er, very pleasant.
I can definitely see my husband wanting to nuzzle up to my neck with this beauty.
It smells very comforting. I will add it to my collection!

Stelala

I am SO happy I purchased this. For me it's very heavy on the peony, which I love. However I must admit that I got a bit of a headache from the sweetness at first, but then the pepper and benzoin comes in to balance the honey. From there it opens up quite lovely! A beautiful bouquet of white peonies, jasmine and a splash of tangerine. I only sort of sense the praline, which is a good thing I think - it sits close with the cedar, creating a yummy backdrop. It's nice to have a perfume without musk for once!

Definitely worth buying if you love white florals! Yes, there are many perfumes out there with the same combinations. Not all of them are this well done though!

mahanta

Elie Saab Le Parfum watered down. Nice, but I prefer Elie though.

nikoleta1

Nice soft, little sweet, modern, neutural, in Si Armani or Chanel Mademuasell style. Light, floral, not very original, but pleasant.

melody.mafa

When i tried this perfume in departemental store, i didnt think much of it , still don't but my boyfriend liked alot, he had to buy it. I have to say it lasts long , others like it on me, i don't even smell it on me but i trust others for me. Its very feminine and not too sweet, give it a try.

Dioguh

smells richly good :) super long lasting

Andorsia

Reminiscent of the classic Boucheron it is updated here with some modern notes. On top its straight up Boucheron for me that settles quite nicely, but unfortunately it just does not suit me. Not until the third hour where it was only noticeable very close, I loved, I mean loooved the dry down, long lasting.

diddyscafe

Salma Hayek wears it. I do love the fragrance for it's light, unintruding honey scent. Along with it's classy and heavy, textured glass bottle, it does carry the image of sunlight through huge, tall windows when smelling it.

primarycook

I have a sample of this (thank you Nordstrom's SA), and I'd tried it once, thought it was nice enough, nothing remarkable, stored in in my box of samples and pretty much forgot about it. Today I took it out and decided it was due for a retest and sprayed it on my arms. Once again, I thought "oh, that's nice, but nothing I'd need a bottle of" and went about my business. A little while later I was sitting at my dressing table and found myself wondering what that lovely scent was. It was one of those "oh, its me!" moments. This scent is beautiful, and now I'm thinking I might need a bottle of it after all.

The tangerine and orange blossom are punched up by the pepper, but it's a subtle boost. The rose and jasmine show up, and so does a slight hint of cedar. I don't smell any peony in this, and that's a good thing for me. Mixed in with this delight is a shy sweetness that must be the praline. As time goes on, there is also a honey note, perfectly done for my skin chemistry, as honey often doesn't play nice with me, but this one sure does. It's delectable. The cedar/wood note keeps everything from being too sweet. It's 8 hours later, and it's still lovely, subtle, but lovely, and gently powdery. Based on the fact that these were tiny sprays from a carded sample, I'd say the longevity is pretty good.

This does remind me a tiny bit of La Vie Est Belle and also of Flowerbomb, both of which I own and enjoy, but this seems more subtle and sophisticated somehow. I also like the way the cedar is done in this. I feel there is room for PV in my tiny collection, alongside LVEB and FB, because it is different enough to merit a place. Also, I wore this today in hot and humid weather, and I wouldn't try the other two in those conditions. There is something fresh and light about PV, which makes it not cloying in the heat.

lesgalaxies

Wearing this now! I was a little disappointed at first, immediately recognizing those clean white florals, rather than warm, milky flowers I usually go for. Must be the praline/benzoin that saved it from becoming what Lady Million and Elie Saab are to me (white, sterile flowers with zero depth.)

As it settles on my skin I sense the balancing out of spice, cool white flowers and warmth of the benzoin! Oh yeah, and HONEY! Lots and lots of honey.. Mmmmm!

It stays a bit sweet at first, then just melts into the most beautiful balance between light and shadow. It's not clearly bright and sweet, or deep and warm, but both aspects are certainly there. To me, this is exactly what I look for in a scent -- it's graceful, simple and does not harass the noses of people nearby. It creates an aura of subtle depth and sheer sparkle, if that's not too metaphoric to say ;)

I love it, my skin loves it! Sillage is beyond what I expected, my coworkers can smell me after I've left the room but it's not heavy at all. Longevity will differ throughout the seasons, I'm sure. In mid-summer I've got 4 hours then need a reapplication. Really think this deserves more love for simply being well-crafted and not another gimmicky attention-grabber.

perfumeaddiction

Ok I am not reading other reviews not even looking at the notes here as I sniff this I wanted to give my take on what I am smelling. This is for the EDP:

Initial spritz appears very feminine gently sweet with a very mild spice in the background. It's an attractive scent, not repelling, not overly loud or floral. Slightly unique but not ground breaking by any means. Close to the skin, not a silage monster and certainly not a heavy hitter. Upon first spray it might trick you into thinking you have overdone it, however after a few minutes the initial strong kick fades down to a close to the body scent.

If your into lighter scents this one might be for you. The bottle is lovely and it has a very sturdy heavy lid which I like. I have the one oz bottle which is lovely to fit in a handbag. Actually I think I will stick with these smaller bottles from now on.

InfirmièreParfumée

Boucheron Place Vendome ! Tres chic ! It's a perfect ladies' scent. Although I cannot guarantee this perfume would be loved by everybody, I closed my eyes and smiled the moment this fragrance landed on my wrist and I got my first whiff of the essence when it dried down.

This fragrance may start out strong - for a second. So I cannot recommend this for the younger population. I can't even recommend this for your super tweetums "I only wear Victoria's Secret PINK" girlfriend. It's pretty mature - in the more middle mature adult sort of way

The scent presents as a nice warm floral fragrance. it is very chic, modern, yet it has that "classique" Boucheron feel to it. You know it is a french perfume when it finishes up to it's basenote.

Sweet vannila, and slightly - slightly warm floral feel give away to it.

Togiii

Do not how to describe this scent but I'll try to. To me it is kind of crisp, sharp or spicy. It didn't smell sweet at all.

Blondine28

Very nice one. Smell like luxury, but so not Jacques Cavallier style. They should hire him again. Not a deep smell for sure.

melanie

Not going to read other reviews, not yet... smells woody to me, soft, almost invisible, but it's strong, really strong. Benzoin, praline, honey...what else do we need to add for the warm touch one might feel right away? Feminine, maybe even too much, but undeniably beautiful in its own way. I'd love to try EdT, it must be equally nice if not nicer. EdP lasted 4-5 hours on my skin.
I immediately thought of Initial, only here you have more flowers ..
edit/ Initial is much softer and not so loud, my absolute winner.

Leek

Ok..love at first sniff!
I love everything about this perfume: the gorgeous bottle, the cap (a true Boucheron cap), the juice.
It starts off very loverdose-y in my opinion. Maybe it's the jasmine. Anyway it is super sweet at the beginning. But whereas Loverdose takes the sweet chocolatey direction, PV takes the honeyish sparkling floral direction. It gets even more gorgeous then.
Sillage is not huge, but is moderate. Longevity is great, I keep sniffing my wrist and can't have enough of it.
I love almost everything that Boucheron releases, and this is no exception.

Lily2911

For those who find this PV too ordinary or too weak, experiment the following : i layered it with Lalique le parfum. Waaw, what you get is an amazing scent. The pepper, jasmine are silmilar notes but the spicyness of Lalique lift the whole PV into a completely different galaxy, it tones down the sweetness and day time shy lady transforms into a dark seducing diva !

My darling

Lily2911

It is a very elegant perfume, not very exceptional or " niche" but well balanced sparkling woody floral. I prefer PV above Elie Saab, much softer and ethereal beauty. It is the perfect perfume for Spring and quite fresh : no fruit, no gourmand aspects nor popular patchouli. After a long winter of gourmand, spicy patchouli scents as Angel or Black Orchid it is nice to "detox" :-). No heavy cognac, whisky or martini's, just a fresh sparkling lemonade with a hint of honey is just what i need now !!

gigiletta

it reminds me elie saab le perfume.very lovely and soft with honey.but this one is more sweet-not sugary- and has got more elegance sillage.perfect for spring and warm summer nights.very ladylike,i love it:)
i bought 30 ml-40usd,good price.

lyciumchld

The experience of this fragrance is somewhat odd for me, as usually I know very quickly whether or not a scent will work for me. Not so with Place Vendome, which has had be going back and forth for some weeks now. I test it every time I make it by a store that carries it, and every time, I sniff, and sniff, and sniff; yet I can't decide if I want it or if I should pass. The opening stages are somewhat fruity, leading to a heart that sweetens considerably on my skin, leading to a heady arrangement of syrupy, resiny florals not unlike those of Flowerbomb. The base brings in a sharp pungency that is somewhat similar in character to Saab's Le Parfum, and continues to change until the very end, where benzoin rules, now a trace of a skin scent.

Place Vendome starts with moderate silage and is easily detected for some hours after application. The end stages extend the wear, and though it is faint now, I can still detect the fragrance on my arm nearly 7 hours later. I still can't decide on it, but I can guarantee that I'll continue to sniff it. It's an odd thing, feeling so ambivalent about a scent, yet feeling so compelled to keep my nose practically glued to my skin for the duration of its wear.

On my skin, Place Vendome opens with a beautiful blend of orange blossom and jasmine with a hint of honey. After a while, the honey deepens and juicy orange bursts out from time to time. For a brief moment, a soft, sweet praline comes into play, and then all of a sudden, it just turns into a sharp, almost metallic mess that I have to scrub off. I love the first hour or two so much that the awful dry-down makes me want to cry. I keep trying, but the same thing happens every time :(

Arlene-Beatrix

Very ladylike fragrance, just as elegant as its bottle.
However, for me it is just too blank. Not sweet, not warm, not powdery, in two words: nothing special. Some light honey and that is it.
There is a saying - being too elegant is boring. In this case, it seems to be true.

Mooniq

WOW! Wonderful, beautiful and superwoman'ish. Classy, sophisticated and very elegant - a rich ladys scent. Its modern but not modern sugarsweet, there is an airy sweetnes from the honey but the pink pepper softens it down to something gorgeous. 1 spray lasts for many hours so go easy with this gem girls. The pinkpepper turns magic on my skin and makes the flowernotes dance. In basenote there is a hint of Ceder, a note that often turn male'ish on my skin but not here, its just a whisper.. A new favourite!

Wow!

Got a sample of this from Nordstrom. I was looking for a new signature scent after wearing Estee Lauder Beautiful for so long. Beautiful changed on me. Well… Sprayed this and then brought home a sample. The scent was strong at first. OH MY after the dry down it smelled incredible. Not too strong. I don't get the sweet smell as described in the reviews. I sprayed this about 11am and it carried on until the next day. My husband loves it too. Going back to buy the full size bottle..

Pusur

I´ve just got it from St. Claus ;) I think it is one of perfumes that change during a day, and this transformation is most recognizable for nose. Sometimes I read about thousand of ingredients but I can hardly recognize more then a few which I believe is quite common. In PV mystique is a bit more friendly, letting us to look behind the curtain. I love the smell. Reminds me - personal memories - of Baroque of Yardley and Cinema YSL, but I am not writing here about how it is built, rather what atmosphere it creates. Well... It is always about this, isn´t it? ;)

djuzz.becuzz

Just tried a sample for the second time and the opening reminds me of Cavalli I Love Her, which I also love but unfortunately lacks longevity. If PV holds nicely for at least 4 hours I would love to have a bottle of this!

antonpan

I'm shocked that nobody noticed the similarity of Place Vendome to Paco Rabanne Lady Million. In fact, Place Vendome is a richer, more intense version of Lady Million: the honey on a distinctive floral base.

Lisa290872

It is very hard to make decisions based on a review by others as perfumes smell so different on different people. On me, this is a similar perfume to J'adore but a little sweeter. I purchased this as a blind buy and am very pleased. on me it is very feminine with a subtle sweetness. In my opinion, this has been blended very well with no real outstanding note and if you buy the gift set, the body lotion is gorgeous. Very happy with my purchase.

Migalex

Personally I find it heavily cloying. But I am not very fond of orange blossom and it does smell heavily of orange blossom. I can smell the jasmine underneath, more discreet, but recognizable. The orange blossom gets a syrupy to me sticky texture thanks, I think, to the honey and the praline, mostly. I can find some resemblances to Ellie Saab, but while Ellie Saab has also as main notes Orange blossom and Jasmine, they do not end up in so sweet and heavy a mixture as here. And PV has quite a woody base, and Ellie Saab not so much. Also, Ellie Saab has a very clear and well defined progression from Orange blossom to jasmine, and while I am not particularly fond of orange blossom, I do admire Ellie Saab and actually like it a lot and think it is an extremely well done fragrance, brilliant actually. I do not think the same about Place Vendome. And do not find it original either. This type of scent seems to be very common these days. This is my humble opinion.

Tanyaoxo

I have to say this perfume was not what I was expecting; the pink pepper note in the opening reminds me of Gucci Guilty, then the creamy benzoin/praline dry down remminds me of a cross between Signorina and La Vie Est Bell (and maybe a little Prada Candy) as MippyMuppet mentions. It is sweet, floral, and creamy with a powdery finish, it's very feminine but different from many other perfumes out there- a very well done creation in my opinon! However I would say if powdery is not your thing, this might not be for you.

Tanyaoxo

Thank you so much mippymuppet for your review! I ordered it from Debenhams on their 'try a new fragrance guarantee' meaning they send you a free sample with the perfume so that you can smell it first and return it if you don't like it- well they didn't include my sample and I was really annoyed! After reading your really helpful review, i bit the bullet and opened it anyway and I'm glad I did.

Thanks so much again!

sirop de Liège

The frist hour it smelles great but then it turns into an overly sweet and powdry scent. What is it with perfumes nowadays? Does every brand really need to have their own gourmand scent? Some variety please!

Jonayla

Okay, I`m in love. Sweet (but not too much), rosy, benzoine, creamy, jasmine is also there. Someone ask how this differs Elie Saab. My nose this is totally different smell. I think this is much more lighter than Saab what is much deeper and sillage is heavy. Vendôme sillage is just moderate. Very different and unique. I love it! And the bottle is one of the most beautiful bottles whole fragrance wold. Very 20`s century, old fashion, just beautiful!

mippymuppett

Hi!!!

I have both Elie Saab and Place Vendome and will try to explain the difference as best I can. Let's start with Place Vendome...

Place Vendome out of the bottle is creamy and sweet. A combination of the honey, benzoin and praline. But it is not foody and I think it is a nice departure from the traditional vanilla scents out there. It's a beautiful soft and creamy blend. PV is also a better blend of florals. Where ES is all about the orange blossom & honey PV is really a beautiful floral blend. I also get the hint of tangerine & pepper at the top.

PV is currently my new favorite scent and I am spraying like crazy!! I highly suggest sampling if you get the chance. I feel the two scents are different enough that on my skin the two scents do not overlap each other making it easy to justify having a bottle of each.

ES out of the bottle to me is darker...heavier. The patch immediately comes forward and weighs the fragrance down a bit. ES to me is dark, heavy, honey dripping orange blossom. I love it.

PV always retains its floral light creaminess. I feel like it more closely resembles Lancome La Vie Est Belle and Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina because of its creaminess and floral notes. They are not the same...they just feel like they would be in the same family.

I was also excited to try Estée Lauder Modern Muse. This to me is way too similar to Elie Saab. If you have one you definitely do not need the other...and ES is blended better IMO.

Hope that helps!!!

Tanyaoxo

Is anyone able to explain how this differs from Eli Saab? I own ES and not sure whether or not I should purchase this one too.

AveParfum

Enough already with the sweet synthetic bases with citrus on top! Geez, is the same perfumer working for all the mainstream companies now? With these beautiful notes I was expecting something magnificent, not The One, Chance, or Vanitas in a new bottle. The base is sweet and synthetic amber. I suppose you could say there is rose in it. If it's honey you seek, there are far better honey perfumes on the market. I am reminded of why I shop mostly for niche. This perfume is bland and forgettable.

mippymuppett

The EDP Version

Very beautiful!! Honey, rose, a bit of jasmine, a dash of pepper in the beginning. A slight vanilla suggestion from the benzoin with a little bit of sweetness from the praline. This is really very soft and beautiful!!! Perfect for a lady of any age who carries herself with grace and ease.

Really I can't stop smelling my wrist. Place Vendome is a very beautiful soft sparkling floriental. This is not going to scream at you but will have you floating in a very beautiful aura. Initially I bought the smaller bottle but went back the next day and exchanged it for the large one. I am very anxious to see what Boucheron does next under their new licensure!!! This one was a big hit for me!!!

Wonderful longevity!!

edit: I wanted to comment on the bottle. Gorgeous cut glass with substantial weight. Would look beautiful on any dresser!!!

I just wanted to say that I too have Elie Saab and for me, they are not alike.

Mons

This was a scent suggested to me by my favorite SA. Nick if you ever read these reviews....I love you.

This fragrance is like a soft rose dipped in honey. It is a scent so feminine and elegant I can't believe it is a Boucherone scent. (Boucheron's tend to be heavy on me). At first sniff, it is ok....but after about 20-30 minutes this turns into a dream. Warm melting honey softens roses and just the most subtle int of Jasmine. I do not get any citrus, I see it listed, but I don't get it.
This is so easy to wear, it is glorious.
This morning I went back 3 times to spray on more before I eventually left for work.
The bottle is so beautiful and it's heavy - you might think the juice inside would be some weighty concoction, but it isn't. It is lovely and I don't come across many people who wear a lot of the Boucheron offerings - so you're pretty much going to be unique.

Synryo

I was not expecting to like this so much. Got to try this courtesy of Dinosgirl3. To be honest, I was expecting another generic floral (not usually a fan of florals to begin with) but it surprised me. It's soft and sensual with just enough warmth to be wearable for me. There's something about the blend of woods, honey, and jasmine that makes it very inviting. It also strikes me as versatile, I think you could wear this in any weather/season.
This is class. But not pearls, fancy dresses, and careful conversation class. It's the simply but fashionably dressed woman in the coffee shop reading a book or gazing thoughtfully out the window. She doesn't scream for attention, but there's just something about her that you admire and it makes you want to get to know her to find out what it is so maybe you can have it too. Although maybe that je ne sais quoi is simply the fact that she's wearing Place Vendome ;)

HOPE007

This reminds me purely of Estée Lauder Tuscany Per Donna.. I used to love it, but honestly I'm not that fond of it anymore.. But they do smell alike..

castellot

I have this on my arm today and I don't think the longevity is going to be great. I get the honey, the orange blossom and jasmin in the first 2 hours. The jasmin came to the fore about an hour after application but has faded now 3 hours after.. I am left with a skin scent of vanilla-ry, creamy honey with the mearest trace of caramel/praline. It is a beautiful, soft, subtle scent which is unlikely to offend anyone. I can see this as a signature fragrance for many women, and although I think it suits ladies of my age (40s), I think it will work for young ad old alike. Projection is low I think but I only sprayed my arm, not hair or clothes, so you might get better projection and longevity with different methods of application.
The bottle is lovely! It is also heavy and substantial and gives the perfume a very classy vibe. It does remind me of Elli Saab but I prefer ES, marginally. If someone gave Place de Vendome to me as a gift, I would be pleased, but I have no yearning to go out and buy it for myself. I would have been more interested if the jasmine had stuck around longer as it was really beautiful then. I would like to try the EDT next.

macheprofumo

Very classy. A beautiful scent by Boucheron. Boucheron never fails! Suitable for fall and winter. Can be worn day and night.

jrossi

Just arrived in Vancouver. It is distinct, feminine, and a cut above like most Boucheron Fragrances. It has a warmed to it, not as sharp as Jaipur Bracelet. Suited for the independent mature women

Red Rose

I was about to say it's similar to Elli Saab due to similarity in notes. I'll give it a sniff when it hit stores where I live & update my review.

SorceressOfTheDark

Such a light, delicate scent to wear. Reminiscent of flowing, long, gauzy dresses and wide, straw-brimmed hats, tall grasses, and beautiful trees with wide arms full of green leaves towering above me, blue skies with patches of white breezy clouds and the air is warm. This is a light perfect perfume for the spring weather.
The woods of cedar immediately burst through with roses and muted jasmine, while creamy pralines delicately mix with notes of honey. Vendome Boucheron seems classic in its projection, never overpowering, always ladylike, always subtle, ever gentle.
I could see this a a wedding day perfume for a very young woman because of its lack of sexuality or flirtatiousness. Its simple. Its clean. Its elegant with a hint of pepper peeking through, ever so powdery at its dry down. The benzoin lends its hand to a creamy vanilla finish that sits and intermixes well with the woods as this perfume ends its run.

Just received this sample from Nordstrom--first spritz, OH MY!!! Fresh and creamy--just lovely. I wear Boucheron in evening, and can see this for daytime. So far, it seems very elegant, and yes, that word again, fresh!!!

beccamm

Such a beautiful bottle but again this is not for me. It reminds me a bit of Elie Saab which I think is the honey note and that is what sadly ruins it for me :(

antonpan

Got an opportunity to try Place Vendôme Eau de Toilette in (pink juice), it is not presented at fragrantica yet. Unfortunately, it smells like a muted, less citrusy and a bit peppery in the dry down version of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. Do we need another though more sophisticated clone of Light Blue? At the same time I hope that Place Vendôme Eau de Parfum (yellow juice) has nothing common with its edt sister.

flora lee

This reminds me of a richer, improved YSL Manifesto with a more grapey jasmine and then a more woody drydown. Where is the MUSK in the notes because this one is powdery. I think it will smell wonderful on the right skin chemistries. Classy.

jovejove

Great fragrance and not too expensive when it comes to Boucheron. I would love go see a fragrance that is like this, but stronger on the honey tone, minus a bitter sweet honey tone, like when you're drinking linden tea with honey.

gabygol

I just got it yesterday at the launching night in Mexico City. I smelled both: the Eau de Parfum and the Eau de Toilette, they're quite different!

The parfum is absolutely musky, has lots of jasmine and honey, is a little powedry. I like very much strong and voluptuous fragrances, so I totally dig it, but it has a discretion, it is not as strong as others like Chanel 5 or Flower by Kenzo, for instance.

In the other hand, it seems to be for older women whenever you try the toilette. It is elegant and discreet,

The pink one is fresh, an explosion of flowers, very similar to 212 summer editions, Nina Ricci or any other light fragrances.

Nevertheless, they share a link in which you can notice, after a few smells, that they are very similar at the end. I think it's for a young mother and her mid 20's daughter, or for a woman who wants to be young and subtle during the daylight time, but sexual and experienced in the evening.

Is like a woman: two versions of yourself but in the bottom of your heart your soul is still the same.

genny17

Obviously a great creation, prestigious brand, 2 great nose behind it, result: a delightful fresh, light, enticing warm scent, creamy and soft white floral, more a soft oriental, I detect the honey, which mixes in nicely with the other notes, not being fan of honey. I was worried for a minute, no need to be, the honey is part of the recipe, not the main flavour!!! This is not the typical big Boucheron perfume, this is the Parisian refined sent, for the sophisticated every day woman. There is a delightful freshness in that perfume, only great noses can create such a mix of breezy notes on a warmer base.Feminine. Stylish. Great.

anneliise.zissler

i got it yesterday :) well it's floral sure, but i can't smell rose out of it at all

maen

Absolutely charming, Place Vendôme starts fresh rich white floral with a light rose touch developing into a nice natural honeyed Benzoin base.
From the house from which it comes, you expect something sophisticated, french and classy, of course it is, but it is taken in a more modern way, very trendy sweetness but with a special elegance, being always ladylike.
It is very wearable, perfectly balanced, noticeable.

sarahdelicious

Would love everything if it wasn't for the rose...

fiammetta05

The bottle and the box! So delicious and desirable! The notes are interesting too... Let's hope for the best :)

Looks amazing!
