good evening,

On one particular morning, I was walking past my local super market run by a good friend named Ahmed. He was selling fragrances which caught my attention. CK Shock was the one that I felt was the best for me just at looking at the succulent and sexy bottle. So I bought it for 3$ and a twix bar and went on with my day. The moment I left the store my crush walked right by me and started screaming for her life yelling Help. I thought it was a burglar but it turned out she just smelled my brand new fragrance. After a few minutes a real thief came up to me and instead of robbing me, he gave me a brand new Roja a midsummer dream he stole from a beautiful bald man at the Harrods because he had never smelt a fragrance so utterly disgusting as CK Shock for men.

Kind Regards!

TonyG

Have an almost full bottle of this for swap…..

I will try to keep this short. This cologne was my first fragrance and smells alright for its price, genuinely nothing special. The scent has tobacco smoky and a little herbal kind of scent to it. Also it is quite chemically and smells a little like my church in the good way. The longevity and sillage are weak to moderate. The bottle is very weird and doesn’t come with a cap that is really accessible. Overall I would not buy this again but it does smell very good. Dont let my review constrict your purchases and if you don’t have it, its only 15 dollars away.

Some People, say that Invictus Victory is a kinda Chocolate Fragrance. This Fragrance ist to me the best Chocolate Tobacco scent ever, this is true pleasant Choco scent. If u want to smell delicious masculine Tobacco like get this. Performance is also great. Dont spray to much.

CK One Shock by Calvin Klein earns a stellar 8.5 out of 10 in my review, thanks to its remarkable tobacco note that delivers a rich and enticing scent experience at an affordable price point. However, its performance may not meet the expectations of all, and its divisive nature means it's a fragrance you either love or hate.

The standout feature of CK One Shock is undoubtedly its captivating tobacco note. From the moment you first spray it on, you're enveloped in the warm and aromatic embrace of sweet tobacco, accented by hints of spices and amber. It's a scent that exudes confidence and sophistication, reminiscent of a cozy evening spent in a dimly lit cigar lounge. Despite its relatively low price, CK One Shock delivers a high-quality and memorable olfactory experience that rivals more expensive fragrances.

However, while CK One Shock's tobacco note is undoubtedly its crowning glory, its performance may leave some wanting more. Its longevity is average at best, fading away after several hours on the skin. Its projection is also moderate, with the scent remaining relatively close to the body and lacking the boldness of other tobacco-centric fragrances. This may disappoint those seeking a more long-lasting and impactful scent experience.

In my own experience, CK One Shock has always been a fragrance that garners strong opinions. Its unique and polarizing scent profile means that you either love it or hate it, with little room for middle ground. For those who appreciate its boldness and character, it's a fragrance that quickly becomes a staple in their collection. However, for others, its divisive nature may be a dealbreaker.

In conclusion, CK One Shock by Calvin Klein is a standout fragrance that punches well above its weight in terms of quality and affordability. Its amazing tobacco note sets it apart from other fragrances in its price range, delivering a rich and captivating scent experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression. While its performance may not be perfect, its undeniable charm and uniqueness make it a worthy addition to any fragrance collection.

I only recently got into fragrances and bought every single fragrance I own without testing it and from about 25 blind buys this was the only one I really hated. It's pungent, stings in the nose. First time I used it it actually made me sneeze. Somehow it's both very harsh and has absolutely no projection. I also hate the capless bottle design which means you can't bring it on the go without it going off in your bag. To me it's a very warm, citrussy fragrance that lasts for about 30 minutes with the citrus being way too overpowering for the first 5 minutes and then being gone completely. This bottle is going to be collecting dust in my collection for a long time.

skyon33

No projection at all. Even with 3 sprays on the same spot it's still a skin scent and a very tame one at that.
The scent is not bad, sweet and warm, but the absolutely non existent projection make this completely useless.
With this one you really get what you pay for. Very disappointing.

Terror d'Hermes

The whole thing has a plastic cherry hiss, like a gas leak.

smokysweetangel

Unique. Strong projection. Don’t like the opening cause I find it too masculine and like le male but it just smells like that for 1 minute. Then it’s sweet, I get some cherry too. I’ve been avoiding this fragrance for some reason because I didn’t want to smell cheap but realistically it smells more expensive than it is. And not many people smell like this.

Zsemlemorzsa1

This fragrance didn't shock me. I got this because i knew my girlfriend likes these type of fragrances, and i was right this is currently her favourite one in my collection, so this is my date night fragrance.

I like fresh fragrances way more than stuff for the winter, and because of that winter scents are kind of uninteresting for me. this one included.

Im not saying it is bad, other people arround me think tihs is very nice as well, not just my girlfriend. Got a fair ammount of compliments as well. It's just not my taste.

Longevity is not great 3-4 hours, but for a date night fragrance you really don't need more, since fragrance is not the main focus on a date in general, especially if you spend more time than 4 hours with a person. once you get that "ooh you're wearing my favourite", or "ooh i like this one", after that you won't mention it at all, so i think it is okay for a date fragrance to not be long lasting.

Final oppinion:
Very nice and cheap fragrance! Good for date nights. More for fall and winter, longevity is not the best depending on what you want to use this for.

c0lemanscents13

Starting to use this fragrance as my dress up choice. When it's colder, or I wear a sweater I really enjoy the warmth and powdery tobacco this fragrance puts out. Isn't perfect for everything, I think if it's above 75F or sunny out it doesn't work, but on a nice cloudy day when I've got to get dressed up, it does it's job. The bottle is ugly, the performance (on skin) is mid af, but its a cheap tobacco scent that is unique. A guilty pleasure of mine

Gulag Gary

Warm, soft and spicy. Doesn't project too much, but it does last. I enjoy wearing this at night around the house. It gives off cozy vibes and I won't feel any pain when it comes time to buy a replacement. It's not unique enough to wear out in public if you're trying to "wow" others imo, but I find it's better than Burberry London for Men.

Scentless@Apprentice84

The best way to sum up Ck One Shock is it reminds me of "711" back in the 90's when you walked into your local store. That pungent aroma of Slurpee and Coffee! An amalgamation of every treat sold under one roof and squeezed into a bottle.

Stevemack212

Very quick burst of lavender. Dry down smells of a powdery cherry tabacco that lasts around 3 hrs of sillage and 6 close to the arm. Should get you through a work day in the office. It's a awesome winter and fall scent

CK One Shock by Calvin Klein:
This is a warm and spicy yet sweet woody fragrance with a big focus on tobacco, with that particular note being done well. It’s a great pickup for the price and a semi-safe blind buy. Good for those colder months with fairly average performance.

BASMAJ

This reminds me of The One by D&G EDP, they aren't the same but both share 50% of the same scent profile/type... I bought this blindly 2 years ago and it shocked me because I expected it to be generic fresh CK style or max a simple cologne like an aftershave quality(it was $25 200ml), but surprisingly found it very nice, sweet Tobacco yet balanced, fresh and aromatic.. manly and rich in the dry-down after 10 minutes!... I like the alcoholic blast in the opening (people complaining about it saying it's synthetic) I like it, it disappears quickly and it's very refreshing, especially after showering 💚

I disagree with reviews talking about the weak performance... personally this last 8+ hours on me plus 90 minutes to 2 hours of nice decent projection... the more time passes it smells better and better and becomes more natural on the skin.

This fragrance is not less in beauty than The one by D&G ... it fills the same gap and serves perfectly on the same occasions... and honestly the Tobacco here especially when it settled is way better, richer and more prominent than The one...

I recommend this, young men would love it, and it's a great entrance to the mature type of fragrances ... seriously it's way better than many expensive fragrances... test it, if you like it get the 200 ml it is worth it... good deal👌 you won't regret it.

aristune

Yes, it has the Burberry London vibe, but without the prominent cinnamon note. That's why London smells more delcious.
Shock is more energetic, wilder, spicier. London is all about cosy dinner time.
Both are good tobacco fragrances. Both inexpensive!
200ml Shock can be found for 30 EUR in Europe, such a steal!

oldkiwi

Pretty rough initial first smell, but once it dries down it becomes this warm and sweet scent that projects really nicely. For the price you can get this it is an awesome starter fragrance.

FragrantJosh

CK Shock Is a beautiful warm and sexy spicy fragrance with that CK sweet and playful DNA. To my nose Shock opens with that sweet clementine and lavender, you get a lovely cardamom, strong pepper and basil but blended nicely with that Apricot smelling osmanthus, the base and the mid work together as the warmth and dryness of the amber and tobacco combine to make this fragrance sexy and ideal for intimate situations, musky...for sure, earthy too! CK Shock does not smell cheap by any means it's beautiful but yes it's a CK fragrance in the end... I adore the bottle with the writing Shock and screwing on the cap gives it more of a personal feel, for the price this is gorgeous and go ahead and spray 20 times because you probably won't reach the 4th hour mark of longevity as soon as you apply this one it starts to sit closer to the skin. I love applying this before bed it's so nice and uplifting If this fragrance was beastmode I'd have to give it an 8 possibly 9/10, but it's not so I'll give it a 6.5 😁

Price 10/10
Scent 8/10
Longevity 4/10

LePianoMan

Based on the insanely good price of $30/200ml, this is amazing stuff.

Mainly cinnamon and tobacco, with some general sweetness and warm spice mixed in.

I do get a little bit of the lavender and orangey notes in the opening but they fade to the background quite quickly on my skin (like 5 minutes).

Honestly, if you want something that’s sweet but maintains its maturity, this is a fantastic 3/4 year fragrance to me. It’s an easy dumb reach because it smells nice and it’s cheap. Smells much lighter and even a bit woodsy and almost a little fresh in the air but as you get closer to skin it gets so nice and warm and sweet with the cardamom mixing in.

Genuinely ver appealing perfumery and for the price it’s just absolutely incredible.

A lot of these disgruntled reviews seem to have pretty unrealistic expectations of this perfume at this price point. Not sure what you guys are expecting- for $30/200ml, this is incredible stuff. I’d even be happy if it was $30/100 but any higher would be a bit crazy for me.

Decent longevity, okay projection, but scent profile alone is enough to keep me coming back. 100% worth trying if you’re thinking about it.

khillebrand

This would be a 10 outta 10 if the bottle design was better. Just saying

A Chic Blend for Warm Weather: CK One Shock! For Him

Rating: ★★★☆☆

As a fan of almost all CK fragrances, I find them to be beautifully crafted and well-made. The company has a distinct personality that shines through in its products, which are never weak or hit-and-miss. They always adhere to a strict set of rules before a release, ensuring quality and consistency.

CK One Shock! For Him is no exception. It’s a prestigious amber/Smocky fragrance perfect for warm weather. The composition is beautiful, slightly sweet, warm, and undeniably chic. It can be compared to Spicebomb Extreme, although the latter is a bit more mass-appealing and longer-lasting.

Like most CK fragrances, don’t expect too much from its performance. However, the price justifies it. In the US, CK perfumes may be less appealing due to overuse and ubiquity, causing them to lose their appeal. But in far-off countries like ours, people can easily enjoy the art of these fragrances without the hype factor.

Jordybae

Cheap, Spicy, Warm, oh so cozyy. How could you not like this, i love it. the initial opening is very nice on my skin, i get a warm creamy spicy cinnamon smell at first, then it dries down into an even smoother tobacco smell that’s irresistible. this is bound to get compliments and it’s affordable aswell. One of my personal favourites.

Shreem

The most luxurious fragrance you can get for your money

Smooth amber chocolate tobacco flavor

PSL

Smells like Fireball. I kinda like it.

Kwezz89

Another dumb reach for a fall and winter. It’s super cheap, and smells great to me. I bought this on a whim a couple years ago and I find myself using this often in the colder weather. It’s a pretty masculine spicy fragrance. Pretty good beginner oriental fragrance. Projection could be better and it only lasts a few hours but it’s so cheap you can spray away. I have way better winter fragrances in my collection but I still use this. I’ve probably never got a compliment from anyone but I don’t care I like the smell. I’ve never got a complaint though l.

JJ2137

It's just a pleasant sweet scent with spices. Nothing groundbreaking, but the price is fair. Also don't believe "reminds me of" section, smells nothing like London for Men

Sinc scent

The sillage is very strong, it lasts ages-I put it on at around 9am and had a shower late afternoon and still smelt it when I woke up the next morning. Sticks to clothes and stuff for a while. It is a pleasant tobacco cozy smell but can be very cloying and induce headaches. Good for colder days and should not be over sprayed. Atomizer dribbles and sprays inconsistently but for $40 for 200ml it’s pretty good.

Edit: it’s much better on the Drydown and is quite pleasant. Dark, amber sensual scent over which is overall pleasing

tomhu

I bought this fragrance a couple years back and personally wouldn't recommend it, it smells way way too sweet to the point it overdoes any other notes and gives you a headache, only positive I can think of is that it is cheap but personally, not for me

Drakobands

Absolutely love the scent, really poor performance, lasts 30 - 50 minutes with barely no projection after 20 minutes , got it for 20€/100ml, i wish they made a better performance version.

Semsir

Meh, pretty avarage even for its price. Smells better on clothes than on skin. Cheap synthetic opening. Not similar to Burberry London in my opinion, BL has better quality and a nicer bottle.

Glassmoon

I was looking for a winter fragrance and found this as a recommendation. Found it fairly cheap so I went ahead and ordered it. At first I couldn't stand it. It was as advertised a shock for my nose. Too sweet too sharp too much. But as it slowly dries down it becomes more and more pleasant. When I smell this I'm thinking of snow, knitted sweaters , Christmas vibe , Christmas herbs and spices. Shortly it's a very wintery / christmasy scent for me. Is a bit too sweet for me but it isn't bad. Some compared this to lattafas Asad but I can't really see any similarities as such.
I'm not saying there not similar , it's just that me personally can't connect those two.

I don't think I would buy it again but that's just because I believe that this scent was made for younger people and not old farts like me... Well middleaged farts like me anyway. I'd prefer something a bit less sweet But that's just my two cents.

AJPkayla

A nice cheap, but well done, pipe tobacco scent with amber, patchouli, and spice. Some basil and slight cocoa. Its biggest negative is how weak it is. Weak projection and poor longevity. That graffiti logo is awful and the name doesn’t fit at all. I usually turn the atomizer around and display the back of the bottle. Still if you can find it cheap, it’s a nice addition to your collection. The dry down, though somewhat faint, is wonderful. This one will stay on your clothes a decent amount of time, but at least on my skin, it doesn’t last long.

Dread Emperor

It's cheap, it smells like chocolate, tobacco and a pinch of spice. Don't go out of your way for it, but if you see it for super cheap, or just want to add a nice semi sweet masculine bottle to your collection: you won't be dissapointed.

Caesar's Legion

Did you like LA Nuit de L'homme?
Did you ever want La Nuit de L'homme to add tobacco, but not a Thierry Mugler Pure Havane type?
Then CK One Shock is for. Comes in two sizes.
3.4 and 6.8.
One of the best affordable colognes.

If you did prefer a Pure Havane scent then Reyane Tradition Insurrection Wild II is for you.

CK One Shock has that Cardamom note that many associated with La Nuit de L'homme. This one is a sweeter tobacco. It's not like TF Tobacco Vanille or PDM Herod.

Yes,the packaging is cheesy. Yes, Calvin Klein should repackage this.

Jbreezo823

The Best Calvin Klein men’s fragrance imo I’m sure others would agree too eternity flame for men is pretty solid too but doesn’t compete with this this is beautiful majority of people won’t even think this smells like 30-40 dollar fragrance this is like Tom Ford quality I’ve been sleeping on this for a long time and I get good longevity with this 4-5 hours 6 when I spray my clothes Get the 200ml guys 9/10

neo009

The opening is so good to my taste (A fresh spicy opening reminds me of la nuit de L'Homme, due to the combination of lavender with cardamon, Also there is a boozy spicy accord in there which I love).
But after the opening, the scent becomes a sweet somehow linear but not so loud till the dry down, I am not interested in this phase.
Overall I think that I like the scent but not a love for me, although I like tobacco note in fragrances, but here it has more sweetness than I love.
Also considering the price to ratio factor, I think it is a good fragrance as everyone mentioned before.

benlippi

Dropping another review to say once again this is the best cheapie ever.

Also, I have a solution for the goofy bottle.

Take an old pair of your Calvin Klein boxers, the one with the skid marks you can’t wash out, cut the band off of it, now cut it so that it’ll wrap snug around the bottle, stitch it, put it on and cover that god awful graffiti. Now you have a bottle like a blacked out ck everyone. You’re welcome.

Leppinen

Considering the price, this is top tier in every possible aspect. I wore this just today and got compliments both from older ladies and teenage boys. Everyone seems to like it. I wear many different fragrances and hardly ever get compliments but this one is always an exception.

Longevity 8+ hours.

This is a cheapie that could easily be someone's signature.

Yes the bottle looks childish but so what?

hitman-nasser2001

Good value, nice scent, worth to try it

Woodenkey

Do you like Starbucks? Have you ever wanted to smell like gingerbread latte? Here's your chance.
I don't hate it it's just wayyyy too sweet for me. The sent profile here is totally different from what I smell. I get VANILLA cinnamon nutmeg and after the dry down finally a hint of smoke and wood.
It's definitely a younger persons scent. If the description sounds good to you totally go for it. It's usually under $30 if you can find it. Just be careful you will most likely have some stray pumpkin spice girls following you around.

Spadz97

This is by far the best value for money fragrance that I own. I've seen it garner hype in the community in the past but I never pulled the trigger. That was until the discounter that I use in the UK came out with a ridiculous deal which I couldn't refuse. In the end I managed to pick up 200ml for £6 and it has got to be one of the best buys I've made since I started collecting fragrances.

The scent itself is a masculine, sweet tobacco which is phenomenally sexy in the cooler months. It has a sweet almost herbal undertone which is mass appealing and seductive.

Performance is also much better than expected as lasts about 5/6hrs and projects well for the first hour or so and then sits a lot closer. I would recommend spraying this on clothing to make the scent last even longer.

The presentation was unlike anything I've had before but I like the screw top on the bottle and the separate atomizer. It distributes a lot of fragrance and I really like how rustic it is. The bottle style aswell is a bit hit or miss but even a massive 200ml bottle doesn't look out of place with the rest of my bottles and I love the style of it.

All things said it is the best value for money fragrance that I own and it has been one that the ladies love. Would definitely recommend even if it was £30/40 an excellent fragrance.

Deekerr16

Scent-wise, this is one of the most quintessential fall fragrances I've ever smelled. Yes it's great tobacco (not just for the price), but the way it's supported evokes almost a pumpkinspice accord. Thinking of this as a halloweeny scent can almost excuse the gaudy packaging too (almost). This is so cheap and pleasant it's a must-have, too bad the performance is dreadful. It also does not have a cap, which is bad for a poor-performing fragrance as you'd have to take it around with you to respray and wouldn't want it spurting about in your bag or glovebox. Despite the downsides, I still just love the smell - just wish there was a parfum version or something.

lincolnmtpostalservices

Just a bit too synthetic for my taste in the opening, but the drydown is excellent for what it is. I get about 4-5 hours longevity. My only real complaint is that it has the worst atomizer of any fragrance I own.

frankcoelho

Really was missing out on this. Found one at my local ROSS for $19.99 and was kind of skeptical about it, though the price and reviews I've seen truly couldn't lie.
Very smooth, not as sweet and sticky as I was expecting. It sure would be easy to pull this off as a signature scent year-round, especially since it'll get you a bubble that is off the radar amongst your typical freshie.
On the cheap, quite surprising quality, though very moderate performance ~3h apparent on my skin, then on the 3rd+ hour gets mild and smells of clean skin (soapy).
I dislike the bottling, but love the idea of having a screw on cap/atomizer.

sodapony

Packaging is a bit silly and juvenile. The bright neon SHOCK is just not for me. Atomizer is ok, nothing special.
The opening is all sweet, warm tobacco and an undercurrent of spiciness. I'm not really getting any of the clementine or cucumber some other folks smell off the top. Maybe a slight hint of that lavender.

The dry down is pretty linear, and the fragrance more or less maintains that sweet, warm tobacco, spiciness, and wood notes. There isn't much evolution, but that's ok because this fragrance is fantastic. Shock definitely reads as an Oriental, dark fragrance.
Both longevity and sillage were moderate to weak for me. After about 2 hours, it sort of disappears. But, this EDT is so cheap, you can be very liberal with sprays and reapplication.
I'd wear this casually in the cooler months, day or night. I don't think this is a formal/dressy option, and for sure not something I'd wear in warm weather.
The value of this fragrance is phenomenal. They are practically giving this stuff away at discounters. I paid $20 for 100mL, and I've seen 200mL for only $30! At this price, I'd recommend CK One Shock for him to anybody who enjoys tobacco fragrances.
Overall, I really think this is a can't miss blind buy for anybody who enjoys a tobacco fragrance. It is a bit lacking in longevity and sillage, but again...it's so cheap you can just spray some more. Anecdotally, this is one of my more complimented fragrances, more than some of my more expensive fragrances!

m2uj

Burnt cherries. Just that. Tobacco and cherries, tobacco with a little of sweetness & freshness, does not lasts much or project insanely, but for the price? pretty good especially for winter, it was my first tobacco perfume and im enjoying it!

Mojojojo85

This is a great introductory tobacco fragrance. A little sweet and spicy mixed with the tobacco blends really nice. Very inoffensive and you can find it very cheap online and at pretty much any TJ Maxx/Marshalls/Ross. If you're wanting to dip your toes into tobacco, I highly recommend.

Ap2022

Finally finished my bottle so long ck one shock you served a great purpose during fall and winter 🙌

gorin

Whoever designed the bottle and ads for this must have laughed their ass off.
It looks like a perfume designed for bubble gum eaters.
Smells way better than you would think.
Smooth tobacco and warm spices, decent performance.
Great budget pick, just don't look at the bottle when you're using it.

jessi_

I'm a big fan of CK2 and CK One, two of my favorite budget-friendly scents. I decided to pick this one up on a whim after finding if at a tj maxx for a very decent $20 and was surprised! It's warm and cozy, the spicy tobacco note is more comforting than I expected. This is very different than the other CK fragrances that I own, but it was definitely a blind buy that I don't regret.

colognefreak

Don’t buy it, I don’t want anyone to smell as good as me.

ScentedRoyalty

This fragrance took me by surprise it has similarities to ASAD. I was very on the fence on this but if you can get it under 20$ it's well worth it the tobacco and amber are the star of the show the fragrance is sweet and well balanced for the price you really can't beat this. Great winter or fall fragrance.

CK One Shock For Him Calvin Klein

CK Shock is a nice amberish tobacco frag that's inexpensive and it's available in 200ml bottles for about 33 usd. I keep a 20ml decant of it in the office drawer and just spray it abundantly once a while when I wanna smell some not so loud tobacco. It isn't that lasting and stays on the skin for about 4-5 hrs. Good enough

xillage

This one is the fruity version of Herod. Not too fruity, but more of a unisex perfume unlike Herod or Mugler.

Carlitos

ONE REAL BIG SHOCK

In the last decade of the past century - seems like one million years ago - someone offered me a bottle of the original CK One. The year was certainly 1994 and that gift was a surprise for me. I never had seen it before in a Duty-Free shop, so that flask was certainly "fresh bread out of the bakery".
By then, all I cared about was Issey Miyake and Kenzo scents for summer days, Tuscany, Eau Sauvage and Paco Rabanne XS for the office and Kouros, Antaeus, Obsession, Boss Number 1 and Opium for a night out or partying. All of them had a magnificent and elegant presentation and had an extremely good performance, as well a very alluring scent... and a high price as a social toll. They were part of the "créme de la créme" back then, both for juice quality and looks (and price). Even today, all of them are perfume industry.

The original CK One was an unexpected launch for me. Although I liked Obsession very much (and still do) I did not care much about any other CK scent. I remember thinking that the fragrance was all wrong. It was democratically inexpensive (so it should be a bad scent), with an under-average performance (so it should be a bad scent), with a vulgar flask and no cap (so it should be a bad scent), unisex (so it should be a bad male scent), 200 ml flask volume like a big bottle of a cheap drugstore cologne (so it should be a bad scent), and with a transparent juice (so it should be a bad scent).
I never cared much about that bottle and later on, I gave it away as a gift, not to my father but to my father-in-law at the time (I did not like him all that much).
To my past century's astonishment, Calvin Klein kept on releasing new different multicoloured CK One flankers once every two years or so. Unconsciously I labeled them all as cheap and low-quality colognes, as I did before with the original fragrance back in 94. At the same time, Paco Rabanne released the inexpensive "infamous" Paco. Oh my god... it seems like a spreading disease. I did not realize then that this perfume democratization was indeed very healthy. Due to this type of product strategy, now we have a larger industry with a larger offer, both in quantity and in scent types, and an extremely wider consumer base. With that conclusion in mind, I now admit that CK One was probably one of the most important fragrances of the XX century.
Twenty years later, older, wiser and with a different father-in-law, I saw a very positive youtube review about the new not unisex CK One Shock. "The reviewer must be sponsored by Calvin Kein" has been my first thought. Six months and half a dozen "Shocking" reviews later, I bought my first bottle of Ck One Shock for Him. Two years and two bottles later, I'm writing my first review on the CK One Shock fragrance. However, so far I have not bought any bottles of the original CK One. For this to happen, I must be even older and wiser than I am now.
As everyone knows CK One Shock, I don't need to refresh your memory in this lines, describing its magnificent bracing pepper and cozy warm amber blended with the intense and creamy tobacco notes, the confort of having a family size bottle, and the smiling face I put on whenever I pay twenty and someting Euros for this 200 ml Eau de Toilete.
By the way, have you noticed that this fragrance is quite unique in the [price & scent type & presentation] combo?
And if you compare it with way more expensive similar fragrances like Herod, Spicebomb, Pure Havane and Kokorico, they have been released at the same time or after CK One Shock?
Now, the mathematical magic mirror for this thousand volts Shock:
_______________________

- Longevity: 8.0 (up to 7~9 hours on my skin, with 2 sprays)

My conclusion: Gorgeous! I do recommend it even as a blind buy.

Music: "I Want You To Want Me" by Cheap Trick

Separatrix

Smelled this in a pharmacy in Queensland Australia yesterday (5th of October 2023).

The smell reminded me of energy drinks. Gave youthful and carefree vibes.

Great for the price.

I am late to the game on this one, I had read and watched reviews on this one but never really planned on getting it. I was at Burlington a store I don’t frequent much then I see the 200ml bottle for $29. So I said well it’s just $29 if I don’t like it I will just gift it to someone that does. First I didn’t like the bottle you have to install the atomizer and it doesn’t have a cap. I have 2 other bottles that don’t have a cap bulgari aqua and Mercedes Benz club black atomizer is built in to bottle. Ok now to the scent; it is very similar to D&G pour homme the dark blue box. CK shock opens up kind of fresh with floral notes, I guess that is why people say it smells like a granny scent. There is a sweetness but on the ambery side, no candy not bubblegum just sweet and it stays throughout the scent. The freshness dies down fast and it gets a little spicy but not Spicebomb spicy just faint hints of pepper and there is waxy/oily feeling to it from the tobacco. I don’t get a sweet pipe tobacco it is more of a cigar raw leaf ready to be rolled a shiny oily leaf. It feels warmer because the sweetness of the amber. The patchouli it feels more noticeable on the dry down and can barely get the woodsy notes. The dry down feels it’s just three notes. For the price it is a good fragrance but I can say it might not please everyone, it is not polarizing but some people might not like this type of fragrance. Performance: projects for an hour then it goes closer to skin but still have a good bubble; after 6 hours it just starts to fade and it’s gone by the 8 hour mark on my skin. I can say it is a good alternative to the D&G pour homme if you want a little more sweetness with a bit less spice. Not a shocker but a decent cheapy and better than many clones out there costing more. I guess for the time it came out it was unique and it can keep up with today’s fragrances doesn’t feel so outdated.

blind bought this one today
200 ml on discount for just 49$
got a hint of D&G edp
for a cheapie is a 10/10

K_Wood_22

Tobacco, woods, baby powder, a hint of herbaceous notes. Smells decent for the low price of about $20-25 for a massive bottle at discounters and rack stores. A decent tobacco-centric fragrance for a younger guy branching out into something more mature, or someone on a budget, but it just can't compete with higher quality tobacco frags.

Definitely a cool weather fragrance, better suited for night, but could be pulled off on a sufficiently cold day.
Longevity is good, projecting pretty strongly for at least 3-4 hours and easily detectable within arms reach up to 8 hours.
This smells best in the sillage, which off of my skin is respectable at 6 feet or more and it leaves a trail.
Smelled close up, it's a bit irritating, headache inducing and nauseating. If you use this for date night, make sure it's not sprayed directly where someone will be nuzzling you.

dabatch

much much better tobacco smell than the overhyped and overpriced le male elixir.

solsisod

I like the bottle i think its unique looking. This is not a good performer on my skin but it stays a long time on my clothes. This was my first tobacco fragnance and i can say that it has grown on me over time.

ekremali-g

I tried it for the first time and immediately noticed it was similar to another perfume. Encre Noire A L'Extreme. Yes, it looks quite similar. I'm not saying they smell exactly the same, but they are in the same style and remind each other. The difference is that Ck is more functional with a bit of citrus and amber.

Ansarit

This smells like niche! Very delicious for a cheap designer. Bottle is cheap too

Overall - 8.5/10 good job ck

Billy K.

One of the best and most underrated cheapies ever. The tobacco and basil sweet smell is perfect in the car and office, I'll definitely purchase one. It's a shame CK didn't advertise CK shock effectively

Vmaster

The bottle is ugly. You have to remove the cap to insert the sprayer (like Serge Lutens bottles). I am not a fan of that due to exposing the fragrance to air.

That being said, for the price, it is a very nice fragrance that lasts for around 6 hours and radiates within an arms length. Perfect for Autumn and Winter. Can be worn by any age group, male or female.

As "cheap" as this fragrance is, you can't go wrong with it.
9/10 - Love

ISmellGood93

I blind bought a bottle of this back in like 2013 reading that it was something unique, and after having all the typical mall scents (Hollister, Buckle, Aero, Abercrombie) back at that time in high school, I wanted something that was a little different, interestingly, it being early fall time when I got it, I hated it at first, but after a couple of months, I ran out of every bottle, and this was all I had so I used it and somehow just absolutely loved it! I wanted to come back around now being almost 30, and again wanting something a bit unique as I build a small collection I saw this was still available and jumped on it for I think 30 bucks.

This hit exactly as I remember it did back in 2013. Though, I feel it is definitely a fall/winter scent overall, I've worn this recently in hotter weather, and it still was pleasant, not completely ideal in every facet, but I wouldn't rule it out. More evening, but I've worn it earlier in the day, and its still great, but I seem to gravitate toward these kind of heavy type scents regardless of the time of year, so that's just me. It has a very tobacco/warm and spicy/sweet type of thing that I really love in a scent.

Seems most folks give the sillage and longevity a bit of a down, I will spray a fairly liberal amount, and it'll last me through a shift at work + some, and it'll last on clothes into the next day. Love this stuff!

LoneWolf23

I love this fragrance. Burberry London smells similar to this one. I love and own both. I liked this one more because to me it smells like Cherry and Tobacco. Burberry London is more Vanilla and Tobacco. For those who smelled Burberry London swap Vanilla for Cherry and you'll smell Ck One Shock.

TabledThoughts

After desiring a tobacco note fragrance and hearing so much convo regarding this 'cheapie', I finally purchased a bottle.
It certainly does satisfy the need for a tobacco smell. Interesting combination of notes to achieve this goal.
Definitely nothing fancy here and not really worth more than the 25 buck pricetag yet works in a pinch.
Dries down to a more basic cologne smell with a remaining hint of 'tobacco'.

los blancos

Not sure about this one. Yes, the price is great. But the silage isn’t the best. It’s alright but not great. I would have loved more cardamom and less lavender. I think most people would love it though.

luciferianwrath

got 200ml for 27 euro, by far the best ml to price ratio fragrance ive ever had, however the bottle is kinda weird
the atomizer is strong, and it smells really good too

SketchMotive

Had to finally snag a bottle and check the hype, I wasn't expecting much... turns out the majority opinion is correct, this thing phenomenal for the price, and it's pretty dang solid if you just ignored the price. All the notes are there, and from start to finish it's a bit of an enigma - the opening is a nice fresh/spicy citrus+lavender but then goes an unexpected direction with mild, sweet tobacco-amber and has kind of a spicy cherry Dr. Pepper vibe. It doesn't smell cheap to me at all, but obviously isn't loaded with delightful naturals either - masterfully blended. Performance is moderate all-around with 4-5 hours longevity and mild projection, which I'm pretty happy with. Truly, this is a no-brainer dumb reach for cooler weather. CK killed it with this one. It's better than it has any right to be.

GoldenState

It's such a fun winter/ fall fragrance with unique scent. It manages to convey tobbaco cherry vibe with just a hint of spices without making it extremely mature which I find unique. Good even for teenagers. Projection and Longevity could be better but the overall scent and quality to price ratio are awesome. I think it has lots of lattafa Asad vibe (not dior sauvage elixir as Asad and elixir do not smell similar to my nose) and is actually nicer and smoother. Weak projection and Longevity but it kinda works making the fragrance airy and not cloying which is not obvious with winter scents which can get overwhelming.

sullenhue

I used to absolutely love this when I first got it, but now Im finding that it gives me a migraine more often than not.

Fragcaster

In all fairness, came back to this after a number of years and I honestly think this is a very under rated scent, horribly marketed, that spray paint “Shock” absolutely horrendous in fairness and it’s little wonder this flopped.

But the scent itself is very good imo, the tobacco is very nice imo, the lavender coming thru and the amber making it sweet, not a room filler, not a beast mode fragrance but an enjoyable one for a very good price.

In my collection I have expensive niche fragrances like Oud for Greatness, Naxos and designer like Ombre Leather and Dior Homme Intense plus many more and this is an everyday easy to wear fragrance that is inoffensive and mass appealing, it could easily be someone’s signature scent I’m that confident.

Such a shame the marketing was dreadful but on the upside not many people will be rocking this which will make you unique.

7/10.

Zeusy

£26 for 200ml 🤌

Used to wear this all the time about 10 years ago.
Still great. Banger for the price. Probably better for comder months but ill wear it all year round.

Piggy41510

I love to wear this fragrance to work!! Longevity on my skin and clothes gives me around 10+ no kidding. And this stuff doesn't smell bad at all, so for 22.00 I believe it's a great low cost fragrance to wear to work or play.

pitch

Really smells very similar to Burberry London. Very nice fragrance for the coldest days of the year. Superb quality for the price.

Dworm84

I just picked this fragrance up several hours ago from Burlingtons for $20 after seeing Ash of Gent Scents' recent review on it. After getting this on skin, I like it a lot. This is a really good cheapie especially if you like tobacco scents. This will definitely be in my fall/winter rotation.

bananatrousers

Smells like smothering your face with dry tobacco leaves in a tobacco processing plant with some sweet peppery undertones to balance it out. I am no smoker myself but this really does remind me of what a smoker smells like if it was turned into a pleasant perfume. It's okay, I guess, but not for me.

Ricks6982

This is a amazing fall and winter scent, great value for money, dosnt smell cheap, definitely a great buy

GalacticResidue

Get it!!! It’s like Jean Paul Elixir or 1 million elixir on a massive budget! Won’t last near as long but it does last a good long time! Out performs all ck one flankers. Perfect date night fragrance.

benlippi

Best cheapie you can buy imo. Such a nice cozy sweet tobacco scent.

xavi617

Easily a top 10 Tobacco Fragrance and every single man should have this in rotation. CK’s marketing team failed miserably with this. I never wanted to try it because I expected it would be a newer version of CK ONE. Instead , we have one of the most beautiful fragrances I’ve ever experienced. Tobacco is soft similar to Pure Havane / Herod. Had this marketing team called this CK Havana or anything other than SHOCK (with goosebumps looking font) this would easily be the most expensive CK frag.

Onlineturk

nicely done, entry level of tobacco scent
among all my other perfumes this is the most i wear when i go to market, school or gym
it is cheap too

Shreem

This is not at all similar to Burberry London. Both are wonderful scents.

If Burberry London fits the Christmas scene in Wham's Lask Christmas music video

Shock goes well with the image of smoking whiskey and cigars in a high-class jazz bar with jazz music playing

In Shock's dry-down, the unique amber scent blends with the tobacco scent, giving it a soft chocolate scent. It's a luxurious scent

Why was it released as a ck line? I wonder, but it is one of Calvin Klein's best fragrances.

Sassafras23

Wouldn’t it be an enlightening experiment to line up a group of perfume lovers who believe that ‘you get what you pay for’ and give them a range of unmarked frags for blind testing. I’d like to see how they’d do, relying on their noses alone and not anything else to sort out high-end from low-end, works of art from hack jobs. One can say whatever they want about their ability to discriminate but who’s verified that ability?

@DarthFragrance I see no reason to dispute that point about ingredients, but it is your point, not mine. 😉

DarthFragrance

I've heard good things about this fragrance over the years so I decided to spontaneously grab it because it's dirt cheap. The chocolatey tobacco actually smells gorgeous. This reminds me of a fragrance I've smelled before but I can't remember what. The amber and cardamom are also very present, but I'm also getting a cinnamon accord and it's very nice. This has a very pleasant sweetness that doesn't smell cheap. I'm not saying it smells expensive, but it doesn't smell cheap. It's a bit fresh from the aromatic lavender, a bit masculine from the black pepper and woods, but I'm mainly getting a chocolatey tobacco, amber, cardamom and cinnamon.

Performance seems decent, but who cares for this price. At $15 bucks, just the fact that it doesn't smell cheap and actually smells good is all that matters. Just like with anything, you kinda get what you pay for with fragrances.

BenScents

I’d describe this as a pillowy (just seems like the right word) comforting pipe tobacco scent. There’s a subtle cinnamon at the edges that prevents it from being too sweet. It’s linear but that’s a good thing in this case. It’s addictive.

AnosmiaAnosognosia

Really nice, smooth and subtle. I wouldn't say it lasts long, but for the price, a nice add to the collection

nickdec26

Straight up amber tobacco, really cool for 20 bucks

cologneboi

FANTSASTIC!! Wow just blown away. a chocolate cigar is what i smell. lasts so long and is so affordable.

swedishmilk15

Love this, I plan to wear it often next fall. Suitable for men AND women, in my opinion. Warm and aromatic, the cucumber and citrus keep this lifted, and the ambery tobacco is a big bear hug. Easy to get along with.

ScentChimp

Given that it lasts about 15 minutes, it makes for a nice bathroom spray. Great scent, no longevity. It could have really been special.

Chiru

I was downsizing my collection the other day, giving away fragrances I never wear to my friends and family, and I came across this old gem. After giving it a spray, a thought crossed my mind. How many dumb-reach winter fragrances do I have? I thought I'd have quite a few by now, given that the majority of my collection is deeper fall-winter scents, but after looking over the stash, I honestly really don't, and that surprised me. I have Burberry London, which qualifies, but the performance is abysmal. I have plenty of blue freshies and adjacent floral types such that the thought never even occurred to me until I revisited this perfume. It was one of the first fragrances I got when I started this hobby 12 years ago. I obediently followed Top 10 cheapie lists and amassed a slew of blind buy successes and failures. Why didn't I wear this one more often? I remember finding it pleasant but didn't really enjoy it. It was just "fine." But now, I think it's excellent. What changed? Maceration? Possibly, as back then these were in everyone's cheapie lists and selling like crazy. But, as others have mentioned, your nose definitely matures as you become more and more experienced in the hobby. I think that's what changed.

F Black, Individuel, Rochas Man, etc. The quintessential winter cheapie starter pack from back in the day. All decent fragrances in their own rights, but were they ever truly dumb-reach just because they're cheap? I can think of many casual scenarios where I still wouldn't want to reach for them. But CK Shock? I can not only spray with careless abandon as it's $30 for a massive 200ml, but most importantly, it is a truly dumb-reach winter fragrance. It works anywhere. It's a light, masculine, smooth tobacco with some sweetness and mild spice. It does the job. You won't choke out a room if you don't overspray, you won't offend anyone unless they really hate mild tobacco, you can confidently wear it to work. And, the longevity is actually acceptable, especially for a CK flanker. I wish my old Burberry lasted as long as this, as it has the superior drydown. All in all, I'm glad I "rediscovered" this one, and I'm definitely keeping it in the collection.

greg.3

This is a serious bang for your buck -- The tobacco, cardamon, amber, and woods in this rack store cheapie smells balanced and reasonably natural considering the cost. Smells a little bit like Ombre Leather to me - at least the rounded subtler parts.

nickdec26

The notes listed baffle me every time, this is straight up synthetic tobacco amber from the second you spray it until it wears off. Not bad for 20 bucks as an every day winter fragrance for running errands or work.

Cholera

This was the first fragrance I ever bought (4 years ago) and was a blind buy, didn't regret it at all, but I have no idea why they made it a CK one flanker, the scent is nowhere near the original CK one. It smells like red cherry pipe tobacco, a bit sweet and oriental. Works great in cold weather and can get you compliments. It performs well unlike the original. It lasts 8 hours on my skin and with $30 for a 200ml bottle you simply can't go wrong with CK one shock.

auztie

Just smells like cinnamon to me, never have had the balls to try it out in public. 6/10

dibsr97

this is prob a divisive opinion, but the opening here is so damn similar to La Nuit (the current formulation) which was pleasantly surprising

Most prominent notes to me are the lavender, soft cardamom and you do get that cucumber freshness. I honestly don't get much of the spices, and the tobacco is really subtle. By the time it comes through, it's barely projecting.

For the price, a 200mL bottle is a steal - particularly for that opening / first hour or so. There's literally 0 guilt from overspraying to get more performance out of it, or re applying

ashroloie

A sexy sweet Dr Pepper with Tobacco that lasts a minimum of four to five hours.

A 200ml bottle of this is insane value. You'd be very unlucky to come across someone who doesn't like the smell of this in the air.

It's by far ck's best men's fragrance.

Jayfrommaine

I had bought this when i only had 3 bottles of cologne. All freshies. At the time i picked it up i regretted it since i was just into freshies. Now 27 bottles later i actually really enjoy and appreciate it for what it is. Sweet, spicy, and tobacco. Great frag for the price. Your nose changes so much when getting into this hobby from when you first start.

Piggy41510

I'm shocked by ck shock !!! This fragrance is decent for the price and that sweet tobacco along with that cardamom is very 👍🏾 nice. 20 bucks for a 100ml is a steal.

Barisbaltax

I can't believe how good it is, especially for the price. The best sweet, spicy fall fragrance for the cost and performance. A must-have or at least a must-try. Easy to love!

ECHOMIKEBRAVO

is really nice, but nothing out of the ordinary

xoxoMyke

I've done a complete 180 on CK One Shock. I wasn't a fan of Shock when I first smelled it 10+ years ago.

I remember smelling it on a tester in the men's "business dress" section around Christmas time. It smelled like straight up mentholated spiced liquid. It smelled like Carmex lip balm!

Fastforward 10+ years later, I bought the rare flanker Shock Street Edition... I pick up the mentholated accord in that fragrance, too... but Street Edition is very, very weak and it smells like a eau de cologne of the original JPG Kokorico.

Ten years later, the menthol accord in CK Shock is still there for me, but my experienced nose picks up a tame n smooth tobacco, sweet fruits, and a spicy laundry "fresh" accord. Very different from anything I've smelled. A definite try from me. I picked up 6.7oz for $30. That's a deal!

Cryotech

My first blind buy, no regrets.

Behindthefog

The opening smells so food, but unfortunately this lasts maybe 45 minutes on my skin. Ck frags have the worst longevity

mushugashi

Had a little buyer’s remorse at first but now I love it. Sweet but masculine, in the same way as Bvlgari Man in Black. Unique scent and great price.

greensala

An accessible wonder. It's an accessible version of amber and tobacco. I absolutely love it. I always keep a full bottle in my cabinet. It saves me a lot of evenings thinking about what I'm going to wearing.

Ceau de Parfum

Rich tobacco gourmand that seems out of place in a CK One bottle until you realize it's all about the Osmanthus here. On the dry down, it shines with great spicy, chocolate, and cigar tobacco notes that never get cloying. Worthy of the hype and oh so smooth.

caffeinatedpony

While it smells quite good on paper, on skin its fantastic. Wears great, however doesnt last quite as long as id want it to.

Cheap Cologne

Found a 200ml bottle on the clearance rack in TJ Maxx for $18. This smells great. I'm happy with this blind buy. Reminds me a little bit of Bentley for Men Intense. Not as intense so maybe the same as normal BFM, but I don't own that, so I don't know.
Smells good and masculine. I haven't worn it around people yet because I just got it today, so I'm not sure if it gets compliments.

dayjeds

Blind buy worthy!

Tomoasdf

This was my fourth addition In my fragrance collection. I am new to fragrances so take this as a newbie perspective. This was the first sweet tobacco scent I bought and I love it. It smells really inoffensive and It lasts well. It is really sweet in my opinion and it really projects in the air. Maybe a more youthful scent. I think it smells more masculine but I'm new to this and "masculine feminine" are marketing terms anyway in fragrances. The dry down is really pleasant.

eguceic

I would say that it is what you get, when you blend together Halloween Man (violet bottle) and Halloween Man Shot (black+golden bottle). Right between of two, just a little bit less sweetness.

Offtheewall57

Would recommend

JamesPawn

lots of red tobacco smells like those lovely cherry candles

chrysiasis

It's really nice. Not too sweet, totally unisex by today's standards. I bet cashmeran is used in the composition, it is prominent in the drydown and is vaguely reminiscent of B-612, Encre Noir and Escentric 05.

On initial spray it's captivating, but a couple minutes later you understand why it is so affordable. Generic shower gel vibes for sure, and it gets somewhat cloying and chemical-smelling despite not being that strong. So I'm discarding points off of that.

ts_likes_colognes

A great bang-for-your-buck fragrance if you like tobacco and amber. This performs much better than its price tag might imply; I get 6-7 hours off of two sprays. Be warned, this smells NOTHING like the original Calvin Klein One (hence the SHOCK added to the title of the fragrance). I picked up a 100mL bottle for $16 at Marshall's, and it pleasantly surprised me with its scent and its performance. I like layering it with Drakkar Noir to give it a sharper, darker, more mature edge, as this fragrance on its own is very sweet and "sticky" smelling, and best suits a man in his early 20s.

Laxus

Love this fragrance, would recommend to anyone young that is on a budget and is looking for something sweet for the semi winter weather.
Smells sweet and spicy mixed with the oriental notes, a bit woodsy and like sweet tobacco.
one thing to consider is that it doesn't project that much and doesn't leave any sillage but that's to be expected from a 20€ fragrance.

djutan

Not what i expected.Blind bought it.The opening is somekind of fresh boozy and i kinda like it, but the drydown is meh i would describe it as if you took 1 million from paco rabanne and added just a little bit of tobacco to it and thas it.Can´t get over the 1 million smell. It blows my mind how people vote it smells like burberry london, i have both and they are 2 tottaly diferent fragrances, london smells a way more better and has that cherry pipe tobacco vibe, where as in ck one shock i miss that but somehow people smell cherry out of it.Seriously something is wrong with some noses. If you like london and think ck one shock based on reviews is similar, i would advise you not to get it because theres no similarity between those 2.

Gokay

One of the most underrated winter fragrances ever. It smells way more expensive than it’s actual price, which is really cheap. I bought the 200 ml bottle months ago before winter, and I’m still using it. It smells amazing and has a nice blend. If you are looking for a cheap winter/cold day fragrence, go for it.

Ilab326

Fell for it. Saw this at at either Ross or Burlington and looked it up on here. Rating, frag notes and reviews looked promising.
Took it home and tried it right away......💩
What a mess! Very synthetic smelling and noxious to my nose. The opening is harsh, and if you can make it to the drydown without scrubbing it off, it gets a little more bareable. I myself couldnt stand it, and ended up trading online.
NOT a safe blind-buy!

Ang023

Been wanting to buy this for a while but always passed up on it. I got a 6.7 oz bottle at my local mall for prettty cheap and I’m honestly really liking this one I was never really into CK fragrances but this one is by far the best smelling one I’ve ever got my nose on. I’d give it a solid 9-10 and would recommend to anyone looking for a long lasting cheapie.

mohammedj53

For the price, its a decent buy. It was my first ever fragrance. I only wear it in the cold weather when I'm going somewhere I don't care too much about. It doesn't have much character or depth, seems very linear to me and doesn't last too long. It's gone by the 2 hour mark.

caribbeandude

I happen to love in the tropic and this is perfect for semi-warm winter nights. Tobbaco and spices, not that syrup sweet but amber sweet. Very cheap and a little bit synthetic, but good for the price. Theres only one downside: performance is abysmal. I'm talkin 2 hours top. Would recommend to tray another from the "this perfume reminds me of", but I haven't tried any.

Clixwell

Just a young person’s Calvin Klein Obsession. I don’t like it.

321unknownuser123

smells great and cheap

tannerkess

Surprised, picked this up blind for around 18 dollars, very good value for what you get. Has a very tobacco/amber opening that is also sweet. Very pleasing fragrance but not an everyday wear due to the extremely weak performance. Fragrance lasts at best for me around 1-3hrs. A good fragrance for those short occasions if you don't need long performance at a good value.

It's a decent fragrance, but not my style. Definitely worth it's price tag, picked up a 200ml bottle for 20 euros. Performance is decent, it projects pretty crazy first hour or so. Sort of fresh and sweet opening that dries down into a warmer, spicy tobacco. Interesting notes im picking up are the cucumber and basil. Not picking up the energy note people are stating (maybe because of the syrupy sweetness people associate it with energy drinks).

I just feel the scent is a bit too youthful, and the bottle design certainly does prove that point. I like my fair share of silly bottles like Phantom and Moschino Toy Boy but this is just designed for teenagers I feel. There is also something off about the sweetness. I like sweet fragrances but this one just feels a bit too syrupy for my taste. And I dislike the performance, slightly too weak for my taste. I would've oversprayed for longer lasting aura but the opening is so strong I'll gas people out the first hour before it settles down.

By no means a bad fragrance, especially for it's price. I just think it's more suitable for teenagers between 14 and 18. Gave my bottle away to my little brother because I'm not reaching for this one in my cabinet anymore.

Tre de Fill

Very good fragrance! High quality, good durability and presence! Warm and slightly spicy. Excellent price/quality ratio! For the price, the perfume is amazing. Overall rating 8.5/10

boffin1979

Makes me smell like the child that raided the chocolate biscuit barrel.

Canem_Nasus

Pro tip: If you spray a little bit of this over PDM Herod you get a masterpiece. I know it seems like sacrilege, but give it a shot.

jeucemcgeuce

The hype fooled me. I blind bought this one cheap, but they should have paid me for taking it off their hands. I am not usually this harsh. The descriptions on the note profile are not wrong, but this does not have mass appeal and will offend someone. It peaks in the initial spray, which smells cheap to begin with. The dry-down is horrendous.

Trust me. There is a reason you can get huge bottles of this stuff dirt cheap. Maybe people who like this wear it for their own taste, but it is not something you wear if you generally care about those around you.

dragos_t9x

Oriental fragrance, not really into them but I kinda begin to like this one. For 20$ for 200ml it is a steal.

Trentyoung91

Great tobacco cheapie with just enough warm spice from the cinnamon. Performs solid, nothing special. You can spray a decent amount without making it too heavy. $20 at places like TJ Maxx. If you see it and you like these types of scents at all...just grab it. If you're not into this dna, then don't. Simple.

jgaleana25

CK One Shock smell somewhat close to PDM Oajan due to three common notes both fragrance have.

Osmanthus, Patchouli, and Musk.

Muggleslayer

This is one of those fragrances where the name doesn't really match the scent. It's a sweet, warm tobacco open with a mellow amber musk dry down. Nothing Shocking (apart from the bottle that looks like it was designed by someone who really liked D-Generation X from WWE when they were a kid). This is a really nice scent that has pretty good longevity for a CK fragrance and can regularly be found in the 20 dollar price range at Burlington or TJ Maxx.

Joxa

Oh man what an addictive scent profile. Smells like fresh spicy cardamom, warm spicy tobacco and amber, and aromatic lavender, all blended with some powdery Musk, woodsy woody notes, and ever so slightly sweetness from the clementine. Really just can't get enough of smelling it.

Paid 25$ for 100ml. Such a steal for this type of comforting cozy yet intoxicating scent profile that you don't have to feel frugal about using casually at home or with over spraying.

My only regret was that I didn't pay 10$ more for 200ml 😭😭😂😂

TheComedian

CK One Shock is good, cheap, and not worthy of the shade some people are throwing at it. That said, Burberry London has a very similar scent profile and is considerably better, more refined, and longer lasting -- get that one instead.

Sassy1

I'm not understanding the exuded hatred for this little inexpensive gem....

I've been wearing this in the cold weather and I do not smell like a dude, cough syrup, air freshener or vomit...
I smell like a woman wearing a slightly sweet powdery wonderfulness that lasts all freakin' day.

Ya'll are crazy.

Slow_Loris

Imagine a packet of Refreshers crushed up and mixed into a glass of blue raspberryade. Then crank up the sweetness a bit. Now you’re getting close. I just cannot like this, even if I spray just a tiny amount, I want to get away from myself all day.

taintzass

CK 1 Shock is a great frag if you need a cheap fall/winter one and want to enter the Tabacco note in frags.

Scent: 9/10 Warm/cozy/sweet/comforting... incredible opening, then subtitle, but you become addicted to it.
Longevity: 7.5/10, 5-7 hours; with Vaseline, around 8-9 hours.
Projection: 9/10, 1-2 ft. (you want your frags to be discovered, not announced)
Value: 9/10 It's great for school on cooler days, just don't overspray.3-4 sprays will do fine.
Bottle and atomizer are ideal for a $20-$30 fragrance.
Overall: 10/10

FragStar

Opens with a sweet dark mix of lavender and nectarine, with a gentle spice from the cardamon and pepper. The cucumber and osmanthus provide a waxy accord which feels unique and intriguing. The background of sweet tobacco is helped with a resinous amber and light patchouli, and comes across like cherry pipe tobacco. In the dry down the lavender becomes more apparent and provides a surprising fresh and clean accord. Perfect for colder days. A big hit and for the price, an absolute must have in every collection.

Marcus925

Cheap smelling synthetic mess.

john_borgia_

Its a one hour scent.... But with a 10ml atomizer...... Its a 10

darkperry2000

I love this fragrance but it doesn't hold too long on my body .It's only about 1hr and then there were no more on my body

TonyAKAMrClean

$24 for a 3.4oz bottle...
$30 for a 6.7oz bottle...
THIS IS A MUST HAVE!

I really can't believe how good this is, especially for its price. If I were starting over/starting out or otherwise had to choose ONLY ONE sweet, spicy autumn fragrance, it would likely be this, for the cost to scent and performance value.

Others within this category that would compete, are:
Evaflor Wisky Red (a $20 La Nuit De L'Homme clone)
Insurrection Pure II Wild (Pure Havane clone)
and I fail to think of many others... (without venturing out of this specific category)

With price/quantity being no object, sure, there are plenty of others, but this punches WAY above its weight class in scent and is an ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE! (or at least, a must TRY!) It's extremely easy to love!

elliotviking

Great scent. Lasts for around 10 hours for me and it has normal/ok projection

Very good value for money

Christian e 16

Smells great but weak it a 8 out of 10

ZaliNeveHalle262114!

It’s ok and like Joop homme is nice around the home on a winters day/evening. Doesn’t last long and need to keep topping up but good for a trip to the supermarket!

ZenAnvil

This a great scent and amazing value. Originally put off by the packaging, I assumed this would have some youthful texture I would not like. I was wrong.

A couple of sprays on my arm a couple of hours ago and I'm still getting good whiffs from time to time. Spicebomb, Man In Black and Eav des Bavx are similar but by no means identical. If you like those this is well worth a try.

For less than £24, this is very very good.

Michel Silencieux

The only thing that shocked me about this fragrance was that the juice is much better than the presented bottle. It has a youngish presentation and looks a bit cheap. I’m not keen on the CK bottles in the “One” line as they sort of look like cough medicine bottles.

Anyway despite the presentation, this is very good and pleasing to my nose. I rate this as a mature scent for over 30s. Definitely masculine and not unisex. I have Rochas Man and Burberry London and this fragrance has some similarities to them. There’s lots of tobacco, woody, and spicy notes underpinned by a subtle citrus sweetness. This is probably the best Calvin Klein scent that I have come across. It probably should be an amber coloured liquid housed in a chunky glass bottle with a clunky metal cap to reflect the actual character of this scent. It would be a definite re-buy for me as it’s a quality fragrance for a fairly low price.

Tacosalad

Smells like I just walked into a head shop in a college town to buy a bong before the dry down. I think it’s the mix of citrus patchouli and amber that give off a incense/hippie vibe but rounded out with pipe tobacco. Drying down the incense like smell gets softer but still present mid notes combine to a slightly absinthe like scent. Ends up being with a low lying tobacco woody amber musk and all this combines to a rather complex and solid fragrance for the price to say the least. Longevity is just ok comparatively to the initial blast from the bottle which is pronounced. Fall and winter only for sure. I would wear this during the day. lasts about 9 hours on my skin from 3 sprays still projects that long as well. Don’t be afraid of the the tobacco note it’s not that pronounced and gives this structure. A little like SF Uomo Signature mixed with Insurrection II Wild. Unlike any CK that I have smelled before. Very earthy and perhaps alittle dark. If this was marketed with a bottle that really represented it correctly they could easily sell this for double. Kinda weird choice driven by energy drink market. 🤷🏻7.5/10

TedPoulson

Sweet, warm, spicy tobacco scent. It does smell similar to Burberry London, but this one is sweeter, and smells less like Christmas than London. Performance is pretty similar. If you’re looking for your first tobacco scent and you’re thinking either this one or the Burberry, pick this one if you like sweeter fragrances.

Qhemist

This one sat in my bathroom for years with no use. I wasn't really into fragrances and had left several there that my father had left me when he passed away. One day after getting into fragrances again but still ignoring these I accidentally knocked down the CK One Shock bottle on my bathroom floor.

Luckily the bottle didn't break but the sprayer stopped working as the spring broke off and I could not find it. However I could smell the cologne and it smelled amazing. It was like if my father was talking to me from his grave making sure I smelled it. I ordered some small atomizers and now have been using it lately and really enjoying it.

Its now in my top favorites as I love tobacco scented fragrances, and for the price this has to be in your collection!

StacyJames

Legend of the Fall!!!! For the price this is one to have in your rotation. The dry down is amazing. Longevity is not good, but spray away and you will be good. It will last days on your clothes in my experience!!

StankFrank

Layer 3 great ways.
1. Over Amber Oud Tobacco (Tobacco vanille clone)
2. Over Encre Niore
3. Under Perry Ellis Red

Zeriot

For the price, this HAS to be in your collection.

This was a gift when I was a child, and as expected, some of the nuanced scents were amiss and the fragrance was underappreciated. Finding CK Shock again in my adulthood was a blessing, the woodiness and tobacco make it a very masculine scent, with the spices and lavender rounding out the overall profile. This is by far the most masculine lavender fragrance I have smelled, coming from someone who's previous signature scent was Boss Infinite, another lavender dominant fragrance.
I would keep this fragrance for date nights, and or maybe casual wear depending on the atmosphere, definitely nothing professional.
I highly recommend, on the off chance that you the synthetics are overwhelming to you, or the overall profile just doesn't mesh, it was incredibly cheap anyway.

BASMAJ

Beautiful.. easy to wear.. bright cooling fresh slightly spicy simple sweet tobacco fragrance ...cheap but smells nice... that fresh intense alcoholic opening it's like the effect of a refreshing aftershave with a character as a plus I love to wear it after showering... the dry-down is more balanced and mostly about sweet, clean & smooth tobacco thanks to the fresh notes... it disappears nicely quietly.

Performance?
6 hours ... first 90 minutes I get good moderate projection.

Versatility? Amazing in cold weather... although its mildly sweet fresh and uplifting but it can be a great choice in fall/ winter.

I LOVE the atomizer & the reusable bottle

Save more & get the big size 2ooML.

BallSniffer

This is an excellent winter fragrance. The amber and woodsy notes are perfect for creating a warm and inviting atmosphere, while the spices add just the right amount of interest and depth. The tobacco note is smooth and rich, and the overall effect is simply stunning. For the price, this is an incredible value and I highly recommend it.

AoiUsagi

With the name and packaging, I expected something zingy, bright, and strong. Far from it, this is a sweet and mild tobacco-amber. It's a nice but unremarkable creamy, warm scent. Not something I'd buy, but I'm happy enough to have gotten a sample from one of the traveling sample boxes.

vbs221

I wonder if those finding this to smell youthful are influenced by the packaging. If this is youthful, then what is Spicebomb Extreme? That's even sweeter than this. Zara Rich Warm Addictive, Layton, and probably even Herod are all sweeter than this, yet I don't see them called youthful.

seekritdude

This one to me ive always kinda has some pretty clear transitions to me, you get the opening with that clear blast of cherry tobacco, that then becomes dunked in a dark purple sorta syurp sweetness. Again my brain instantly thinks of the color purple, its definitely not a black cherry but more again.. purple and my brain thinks of something like plum. Its the same kinda purple image I have in my head when I think of say the sweet note in John Varvatos or maybe even more so in more recent years like Date for men had that "purple" note to it. Then the purple syurp has hardened and turned black... as if its become chocolate..and you are almost left then with a cherry cordial kinda chocolate tobacco. I guess maybe its a tobacco with 3 distinct flavors as it burns down to the end, the orange cherry blast when you first light.. That then turns purple into a plum syrup tobacco, that then finally became black and turned to chocolate tobacco.

Not as sweet in reality as what I wrote, since it smells.. for lack of a better word.. Kinda thin... and its not robust, a lot of the sweetness at times almost has a .. pasty cream kinda quality..

Although I rarelywear it, I like it and have a bottle, and performance at least on the old one I have is fine. And as everyone else has said of course price is great. Honestly whenever I wear it im not sure why I dont wear it more, I guess it just kinda always feels like second place over something else I would decide to wear for the day. But certainly to be honest I like it better than a lot of other stuff I have.

atitus

If 1 Million Prive and Pure Havane had a baby, this woult be it... but a cheap baby. Quality is good but not as high as Prive or Pure Havane.

Rock76

Am surprised how nice this smells. My nose picks up La Nuit de L’Homme. I have both and to me they have similar notes except this has prominent tobacco. Performance wise is decent moderate, not as bad as what some describe as weak. By far the best in the CK line.

fffilth

this smells really youthful to me, like the perfume you'd wear going to a night club for the first time. however, i stress this is not a negative thing. when i want to feel like a horny frat guy, i reach for this one. it also just smells really good at a great price point

AnythingVanilla

I love this fragrance, it smells so masculine and smooth but unfortunately the longevity and the projection is a let down. It's a shame because it is so good to smell when it drys down.

lannibal2000

I really do enjoy putting this fragrance on and getting whiffs of sweet tobacco. This is my first fragrance with a tobacco note after getting back into fragrance's from when I was in my 20's. I'd say this has opened to door for my curiosity into other tobacco scented fragrance's.

Top-Notch Persona

Tobacco and amber with a light freshness from the cucumber makes for a very sexy, masculine fragrance. Performance is decent, lasting for around 4 hours on me, but the value is so good on this on you can overspray all you want without having to worry about getting another bottle.

Dawnyallah

Reminds me of a nicer Autumn, tobacco candle. Fresh and grounding. Layers great with Club de Nuit(Aventus clone) Good blind buy.

07stewartD

The name of this fragrance is very apt considering the shock it delivers. Fully expecting something overly sweet and youthful given its graffiti style packaging I was pleasantly surprised to discover what I’d say is probably the best CK scent on the market. It is sweet but not sickly, and it must be the tobacco in it that sophisticates it and allows it to accommodate a wider age range. I don’t find it changes much on dry down so what you initially spray is what you get for the next 7+ hours. It’s a lovely gourmand which is perfect in colder seasons throughout day or evening. Always found at a brilliantly low price, grab it if you see it.

Poor man's Xerjoff Naxos, but i love it!
For £30 a bottle, you cannot complain at all.
Very wearable spicy fresh cherry like Tobacco.
Opening is outstanding, performance is average to good
but i guess thats why you get 200ml :D

YoYoDebo

It's really good. I sprayed this on a shirt and found that shirt as I was doing laundry. It still smelled good. If you like collecting fragrances and find yourself considering a purchase, I'd encourage you to do it.

popuchandra

I added 5 pieces/pods of freshly crushed green Cardamom into this fragrance (bottle) and now the opening smells similar to La'nuit de lhomm, its simply amazing. The Cardamom note stays for 15 to 20mins on skin.

SUPERIOR BANG FOR BUCK

CK One Shock Opens up with a fresh and sweet warm tabacoo note, accompanied with an energy drink accord made with clementine and cucumber mixing in with the spices and aromatics and tobacco.

The spices and aromatics include lavender, cardamom, pepper and basil but I don't pick up on them individually but rather help give depth and characteristic to the fragrance, and they help create the energy drink accord when mixed with the cucumber and clementine.

The opening is fresh and sweet with a boozy vibe, spiced and smooth and warm. Tobacco is the main note and comes across rich and herbaceous rather than a smoky cigarette/cigar. Fresh sweet boozy spicy.

In the dry down the boozy/energy drink accord breaks open and releases the spices and aromatics aiding the tobacco in creating a very rich sweet and spicy and somewhat powdery fragrance. Amber and patchouli are revealed and really fixate the tobacco in place. Tobacco forward fragrance with a deep breakdown of aromatics and spice. In the final stages of its life the tobacco comes across smelling more like a powdery dry woody smell. But this is noticed at the last hour or so

Great performance for what you're paying, lasts just as long as my Hugo boss/montblanc and just bellow my joops/spicebomb. Similar to spice bomb extreme, bvglari man in black, and other sweet spicy dark fragrances.

Overall it's a fantastic fragrance, an amazing entry level warm spicy fragrance for those who want to get into this genre. Being a Calvin Klein it does its job at mass appeal even for a dark spicy fragrance such as this.

One of my favourites for sure!

CK One Shock is a very nice casual/office safe juice. Great price with nice quality. It is in no way something new of course. Think Burberry London or Rochas Man. It is masculine. This is a tobacco, fruity, musky and spicy juice. For the price this is an easy winner and safe blind buy. Enjoy!

RobbieX

A great value and lovely woody/tobacco/fruity frag. Good performance too.
This is one of THE nicest Calvin Kleins
I love it.

Sassy1

I bought this for my husband but he chose Burberry London instead so I wear it every now and again. The top reminds me of fizzy cola for some reason and then it softens down to a sweet tobacco musk. I think this is totally unisex and I am enjoying it in cold weather.

It's strength and longevity are not blaring and lasts around 4-5 hours for me.

Jalr2

I really like this one. I doubt you can get something better for the price. Sweet tobacco that smells nice. Of course there will be better fragrances, but for the price, this is pretty good.

R Patrick Randall

It's good, but also overrated IMO. Maybe this will help put things into perspective: if I could go back in time, I would take the $25 that I spent on a 100ml bottle of CK Shock and spend it instead on a second 30ml bottle of Burberry London. They're doing similar things, but one just does it nicer: the only times I reach for CK Shock are times when I'd actually rather wear Burberry London, but don't want to use it all up.

theosayad

Warm but not dark. Very sweet and gourmand, yet not feminine.

For its price, it's definitely worth it. I don't really wear it much, but I enjoy smelling it every now and then and its bottle looks nice in my collection.

Mostly sweet tobacco and a noticeable amount of sweet patchouli too. Hints of citrus, cardamom, musk, and wood notes, which all together give this fragrance its own character.

Zombi3jak3

One of the best bang for your buck colognes. Pick up the 200ml for 30 its worth it. Spend the extra 10 bucks. Fragrance doesn't last long if you spray it, id recommend using it as a splash because then you can smell it the next day. Beautiful oriental with a amazing tobacco note. To me its in the bad boy realm. If you have a $30 budget for cologne like most starter collectors or people who are new to fragrance and want something cheap I would say this is a solid all around choice. That $30 dollar range it competes with Cuba gold, Nautica voyage, Michael Jordan Legend, Perry Ellis 360, English laundry house, just to name a few but I think if you double your budget it can't compete with Versace or the scent profile of the one, Mont blancs. But again, for what it is, how much bang for your buck you get its a cheapie steal.

brensmellsgood6

One of the best cool weather mens fragrance of all time. For the cheap price. It’s a no brainer.

BigBobRoss

Warm dark smokey tobacco with a hint of citrus, I can vaguely smell the cucumber note in the background it gives the scent a slight fresh appeal.

Excellent longevity and silage especially for the price

Only for the colder months this will choke people out in the summer heat...

Ggrisu

Finally I found a tobacco fragrance that is not just for the boomers. There is something that turns my memory back to Thailand. When I was on holiday there 7 and 8 years ago I remember some CK Shock notes smelling all the time here and there.

But I like it. Much better than other tobacco scents like Burberry London because it is freshier and little bit sweeter and the performance is better. And because it is tobacco fragrance it is not for everyone and definately not for all situations.

_berto

i personally really like this scent, it’s a bit synthetic but if you can get past that you will really enjoy this

depechedduran

This is a highly underrated cologne.Just buy it , its that good.

ohDevinn

After hearing the hype for this fragrance over the past few years I found it at a rack store and I picked it up today. This fragrance opens up smelling very much like a synthetic syrup mess, but after about 5 minutes this fragrance starts to shine. This fragrance smells like a dry/sweet tobacco with green notes and spice. To me this smells more synthetic than Burberry London but this is slightly more wearable. This projects moderately for the first hour and lasts about 4 hours on my skin.
If you are not a fan of synthetic smelling fragrances, I would not recommend this to you.

Guitar 2016

It is a nice Oriental Spicy fragrance with main theme Amber and Tobacco. Warm , Sweet , Spicy and Unique. This review is based on the new reformulation. It opens up with like sweet fresh spicy, green and spicy notes in the background then dry down is sweet ambery and tobacco. It is perfect for the fall and winter, I really enjoy it and I'm so happy that I have it in my collection. This is a linear perfume, a bit mature and synthetic.
Longevity is average.

Llaszlo

I love tobacco note but in this one it's just weird. I find it way too synthetic and way too sweet. I don't care about Calvin Klein perfumes generally, especially the One line which are mostly unisex. This one is an exception as it's made for men only, however it still does not impress me much. I wanted to try it out as it was dirt cheap but I would pass it on easily.

StankFrank

This is pretty good for the price. Very synthetic & pretty sweet, so the open is tough to wear. Light projection, but very very nice floral sweet tobacco amberish drydown. Other people will think you smell great, as the sillage is beautiful for the hour or 2 it exists. Worn in the cold & don’t be shy about spraying your clothes.

You could do worse with a $60 fragrance collection than a big bottle of this & a big bottle of eternity. You could do better, too.

Edit - layered over Al haramain amber oud tobacco (Tom ford TV clone) = AY-YOOOO 🔥

mysc400

This is very good. I would rate 7/10. If this was in a better bottle it would sell so much more.
CK need to bring this back and make a better looking bottle for it.

Firas Mohammad

My perfume bottle is from the year 2017, and I did not smell perfume from another bottle. What I found from the perfume: the opening with lavender and a bit of citrus, and then the heart, which I did not distinguish any kind of ingredients, only the smell of a little warm spices.
The fun is with the base, where the beautiful tobacco as well as amber, and the smell of wood. The smell becomes balanced, sweet tobacco because of the amber. Thus, the fragrance is suitable for cold times in winter, as well as moderate times in autumn and spring.

I did not find that (ck shock) is identical or similar to (Burberry London), where bl is a spicy and deep fragrance with a strong and prominent personality, while cks is a nice and sweet tobacco fragrance.
Perfume is a good choice for people who start entering the world of perfume, because it is safe, easy, acceptable, not sharp and not annoying, and its price is cheap, and it can be worn with various clothes as well as cases.

The longevity of the perfume is above moderate, but it sillage and projection less than the middle, suitable for all ages.

Smells good but the performance is like the name… shocking. Not worth the money!

Andrew8399

Wish it lasted longer. Mild sweet tobacco with some extra spice. Nice safe and likable scent.

Dr Harder

Tobacco dipped in red bull. By far the best I’ve tried from the Ck line, not counting the Ck one which is a pale copy of what it used to be. A wonderful aroma for cool winter mornings and evenings, Ck shock kicks ass of its much more expensive and famous counterparts. Oh yeah and the price for what you get with this perfume is also outstanding
