First impression: super thick fragrance, dense rosy scent. I used to hate perfumes with a prominent Bulgarian/jammy rose note in the past. I remember once I put a rose-scented lotion on my skin before going to sleep and almost felt sick, naseus. I felt real aversion. However, my attitude changed completely once I visited Bulgaria. I smelled their products and immediately I fell in love with roses. Now I purposefully search for perfumes like that. This is really a very rosy fragrance. Not like in Idole Now, or Armani Si Intense, or something like that. This is rose 1000x. I don´t really get honey (if so, then maybe there is a slight sweetness to it due to honey?), nor do I really get other notes. Gorgeous scent, beautiful heavy bottle. :) I will update my review once I test longevity and sillage properly.

This one is bizarre. Like an unfinished project, an expensive car with premium parts that hasn’t done the testing and there’s just too much initial power but the performance is sub-par; the exterior is still a draft. The bottle is exceptionally well-made with a heavy, glass lid but so kitsch with this disproportionate outline and a golden heart. One spray fills the room and can overwhelm the senses, yet it only lasts a few hours. The scent? Well, what would you expect from a perfume with 5 types of rose? It is a lot of rose! If you don’t like rose scents, keep away. I love rose but can barely tolerate so much of it with so much power at once. I also prefer roses with a cold, green profile. This one is warm and dry. I keep this bottle because rose isn’t all. After an hour, a monster walks into the scene - a dusty, hairy, green-orange-brown something, very rough and interesting. It totally changes the profile of the scent. I like this stage. It’s darker, down to earth, organic and eccentric. It’s still rose, but rough and mysterious. Patchouli, cacao powder and cinnamon galore. A bit of a Frankenstein this one is - in appearance and in essence. The marketing image that was used isn’t fitting, in my opinion. It’s not a gorgeous Hollywood star in a red dress in Cannes. Not a “be my Valentine” either. This is bold and weird. Not vamp or lady-like. Niche, androgynous. And yes, natural! The quality of the materials is superb. If you’re someone adventurous and not a rosa-phobe, give it a go. It’s definitely levels above what most sellers are asking for it. It could be far more popular (and expensive) in a gender-neutral, minimalist, angular bottle.

Reviews completely polarized, some say natural some say synthetic, some say sickly sweet some say not sweet, some say nice chocolate note some say no chocolate at all etc.
I should try it by myself.

nakota

I like intense rose perfumes, but unfortunately I hate this one. I agree it is spicy/woody honeyed rose, very powdery, suffocating, overpowering and headache inducing. Very sweet but powdery sweet; definitely not for fresh floral lovers. Don't expect too much cacao or vanilla in it. It smells very artificial to me - like a mixture of synthetic rose, various cosmetics and talcum powder. It is just too much. I have no idea how someone could call it authentic/natural smelling.
When it comes to rose and Chopard, check Rose Seljuke instead - it is more spicy/oriental, but definitely better made and more interesting.

Love Chopard for some reason gives me the same vibe as Iris Malika. The prominent notes are different, but they share a similar powdery/woody bomb DNA behind the scene. If you dislike Iris Malika, you'll probably dislike this one as well.

Showard3

This is one of those ones you have to let sit for a while, when I first got it I was disappointed but now I can appreciate it for what it is, a very dry, slightly powdery mature rose. If that’s what your looking for you’re in luck because it lasts foreverrrrrr. After reading other reviews here I was expecting something much more gourmand but I don’t get any chocolate or cinnamon and only the tiniest bit of honey. It’s not my preferred approach to a rose fragrance but I can see why someone else would like it.

aspirina

This is a beautiful spicy honeyed rose with a some cinnamon and patchouli. The rose scent is very intense and dominates the whole experience. I agree with comparisons to Portrait of a Lady, and also velvet oud. It also reminds me of La Fille de Berlin. This is a rose bomb. If you don't like strong rose scents don't buy it. Sample it first.

thaochipnd

I tried Love Chopard today. I have a love/hate relationship with this perfume.

It's a slightly spicy Rose, I smell quite a strong Patchouli scent and this made me not like it at first. Luckily, the Rose scent gradually becomes more prominent and sweeter than before. Red Rose, I think it is a type of wild climbing Rose with many thorns, with strong vitality and pride. Because the Rose scent is somewhat wild, as if I were in some abandoned place with overgrown trees. And the climbing Rose trellises there grow profusely on moss-covered roofs and walls. A romantic scent, neither dark nor bright, expressing the gentleness and femininity of Roses, but still not forgetting that Roses have thorns!

Love Chopard has a Vibes quite similar to FM Portrait Of A Lady but is less intense and softer. It's femme fatale Vibes, seductive and mature. It's not the perfect Rose scent for the masses, but it cannot be denied that it is a quite unique scent and has its own personality 😄

P/s: I love it so much, It has an addictive smell when smelled a lot. The advantage is that everyone around me compliments the scent of Love Chopard on me.

Rating: 10/10, romantic Rose scent like a poem

Leaving this for a couple of months after the first spray did wonders.

I was very underwhelmed at first sniff, but now it's developed and I get the chocolaty, spicy undercurrent, which makes it warm and special.

So so cheap too!

ceeceelee

I've had this now for 4-6 months, can't remember, but I try to write reviews after I've lived with a scent for a while bc they tend to change. Whether that's maceration (debatable) or the more likely oxygen entering the bottle from spraying, it is a real change. The only exception to that rule, for me anyway, is if I love it immediately, then I'll rave as soon as I've tested it. But that doesn't happen often.

So, Love Chopard. At first it was a weak rose only with something scratchy, so I put away and waited bc I'm in a real rose phase. Now, it's still very rose but with lovely spices and wood notes in the background. Not too sweet, just rose flower sweet, but that cinnamon is gorgeous along with all the other spices wafting around that rose. Only problem for me is no matter how much I spray, it never gets any stronger or longer lasting. It's somehow "lite". I want to keep spraying to amp it up, but it resists, thus being a tease. I hate being teased by a perfume. I love smelling this from the bottle, but on me it's gone so fast that I get frustrated. YMMV

Love Chopard:
The drydown is special, but the opening scared me.
However, dont let the first impression of the opening put you off. The strong, soapy off-putting rose saddened me because of the old- fashioned potpourri feeling, but it is a realistic dried rose. (Nirvana Rose E&J has a similar, but in my opinion, much better...less soapy...opening)
The drydown (about 30min later) is exciting. The drydown has a softer more powdery chocolate base to the rose. I'm liking it! It just takes a little time to settle down.
Overall, this is not a shy perfume. It is for a strong person. The whole experience lasted about 5hrs (and the scent is rather like Nirvana Rose).
I can imagine Angelina Jolie wearing this with her vial of blood pendant around her neck. The cedarwood and cacoa mixed with rose makes this so evil. Maybe instead of Love it should be called Evil! ....or Wicked!

creepy pasta

Why put soft spice cinnamon sandalwood at the dry down it smells so weird, cuz those ingredients are heavily mixed together and it’s synthetic and kinda like a roast food scent? The opening is pretty tho.

toosimilar

almost exact copy of Faubourg by Alexandre J
both are sickeningly sweet and heavy
and i hate them both

Conniec

Lalita Marina

Roses, wonderful roses, pure roses. This perfume is everything I have ever wanted from a Rose perfume-it is romantic and classic without being too sweet or overpowering. It is like a walk on a summer night through a valley of red roses, listening to a very subtle music, reading poetry, bathing in the scent and moonlight. I see it as a red perfume, one to be warn when you want to feel simply beautiful.

Roxelana

At LAST my LOVE has come along!
After trying so many rose oils, rose water, rose perfumes, from drugstore and healthstore sources to the Santa Maria Novella in Florence, only to be disappointed, I have finally found a rose fragrance that truly is the smell of living roses. There is no metallic and unpleasant element suffocating the rose component, which is what I found in the others. This is pure living breathing rose.. delicious, with a hint of spice that only enlivens it more. I am in LOVE! Thank you so much, Mr. Morillas!

Le_KBey

This is a very elegant, really well blended & a very lovely "Old School" with a Modern twist of a Floal scent.
Powerhouse & for the Price "Simply a Steal!"
Was meant to be for my girlfriend as a gift but eventually been worn only by me.
Hands down a Unisex scent; at least indoor.
So suited for layering, just try it with Ganymede & you'll know waht I'm talking about

Anamandy

This is a very interesting fragrance, but I am having a hard time trying to figure out what this perfume is trying to be. It is listed as an amber floral fragrance. Okay, but I'm also getting elements of an Oriental thanks to the spices, and even a gourmand as there is a candy sweetness in the air around me mingling with chocolate notes. Looking at the note profile I am astonished by how many rose varieties are in this perfume, yet the rose that stands out is the Bulgarian rose. I find Bulgarian roses to have a naturally sweet jamminess to them that is beautifully executed here. That jammy rose also brings to mind other rose fragrances like Stella, Nina Ricci's Rose Extase, and Kirkdijan's Oud Satin Mood. Unlike those, this has a prominent spiciness from the cinnamon and pink pepper that cuts through what might otherwise be an oppressively dense sweetness without them.
While I think this is a well-made fragrance that smells a lot more expensive than what is being asked for a bottle, I already have perfumes that resemble this to a degree. Just the addition of spicier notes is not enough to persuade me to purchase. Besides, since this perfume performs so well with so little needed, this decant that the lovely LSAUG sent me should last some time. But if I didn't have a perfume for times when I am in the mood for a sweet and spicy, syrupy, jammy rose, this would have fit the bill nicely.

Advaitaforever

An opulent rose but it’s almost masculine in that it’s completely
dry and devoid of any sweetness. For that reason I’m not sure it’s something I want to wear and I’m imparting it to my husband (who loves it). It even has a woody, patchouli base and bears some resemblance to noir de noir by Tom Ford.
Undeniably great quality but it doesn’t resonate with me personally. This is like a King Rose.

Chrisandra

I tried this perfume last week on paper, and it was really nice, it lasted for about 4 days. Yesterday, I tried it on my skin, one spray only and I had to quickly get out of the misty cloud because it was very strong. All I could smell is roses, roses, roses, for about 6 hours. Then it settled down into something more oriental and slightly spicy. I feel that it is a perfume suitable only for rose lovers.

Mother Nurgle

This must be how Barbie smells like.

Printeza7

Love the opening on this, is a bomb of yummies! Rose, pepper, spices more prominent than the rose funny enough! It sets nicely, woody not very sweet in my opinion, expected sweeter. But is so nice, I honestly can't smell the rose a lot, the spices are much stronger, they are the body of this fragrance surrounded by subtle rose, subtle patchouli.I like this a lot, it was a blind purchase and I am super happy! Bottle is gorgeous too, expensive, chic! Love the concept!

SailorV

Rose, rose, rose! Just like one would expect from the listed notes, this is really a very rosy scent. It's sweet and a little jammy, balancing between lightness and depth. This not the fresh and dewy, soapy or powdery kind of rose.
The other notes are supporting actors for the plush red roses. I can smell patchouli the most, it's there right from the beginning. Later in the drydown I can also smell the sweetness of vanilla and honey and a warm, balsamic background hum. And that's mainly it. This is a very nice scent for rose lovers, but it doesn't offer any special twists. The more unusual notes like cacao and cinnamon get lots in a sea of roses and the other florals don't stand a chance at all.
This reminds me a bit of the Rose Jam products by Lush, but there are a lot of other similar fragrances on the market, too.
It's a likeable scent and a pretty safe bet if you like heavier rose scents, but I don't think it will become a Chopard classic like Wish or Cašmir are.

Farfalla29

velvetsmile397

I thought I would like this, but it is just not for me. Willing to trade or sell 97% full 3.4 oz/100 mL bottle. Pm me if interested.

Awater01

You would think from the huge list of different roses, this would be a rose bomb that would blow your head off with roses, but it's a touch more reserved than I expected. I found it rather dry and spicy, with a light touch of sweetness. I will need to try again in winter.

MaySabty

Very alluring spicy delicious parfum .. the red bottle is gorgeous and heavy .. I love it ❤️

Carpe Noctem

This one is very pretty, but as others have said, it IS mostly just roses. I wanted the patchouli and chocolate at least, but really didn't get anything other than roses.

Edit April 1st, 2023
I wore this again the other day and loved it more than the first time. The roses are just unbelievably beautiful and fresh in this one. Nothing like potpourri or rotting flowers. Just gorgeous jammy roses!

Mmarti26

Gorgeous perfume. It’s quite smooth and I get beautiful powdery notes. I just wish it would last longer on my skin. I get a maximum of 2h before it disappears.

lanabroz

Smells like cheep soap! Disappointed.

Shikin27

I love this! Smells just like potrait of a lady but less gothic.

Saj_Shae

This is a Taif rose BOMB! Not blind buy safe unless you love Taif rose (a deeply oriental rose with strong oudy nuances). This barely lasted/projected on my skin and reminds me a lot of Nina Ricci's L'Extase Rose Absolue. I don't smell any similarities to Lush's Rose Jam. Test this on skin and not just a tester card because it smells very different once combined with skin chemistry.

Smeraldina77

I love this perfume! The start is Turkish delights rosy sugar, but not too sweet and then becomes a lovely, lovely, yummy, jammy, but sophisticated and super uplifting rose, a bit tart maybe, but I love a bit of tartness. The sillage is great and the longevity is enormous to me, I can still smell it on my clothes after I have washed them. I have heard it has been discontinued and, if true, it is a real pity! I blind bought it since I love the nose Alberto Morillas and I love the notes, and I have not been disappointed! I believe it can be worn in spring, fall and winter, both day a night, may be too strong with hot weather. To me, it is a 10/10

amanda-m-lewis

Love Chopard by Chopard, is a nice, jammy, Middle Eastern rose. And Its 🌹 upon rose. Rose and more rose and im here for it.

It starts out big! And really lingers quite well on clothing. And whilst rose is the obvious star of the show. I get the honey, violet and cinnamon too. And they keep it from being a sickly, sweet rose. Although it is very sweet! So if you don't do sweet, Turkish delight rose or that gorgeous rose water you buy from the Indian food supermarket, then its not for you.

P.s. immediately thought of Rose Jam, by Lush when I sprayed it today and I hadn't noticed it before. And in fact I think I prefer it to Rose Jam and I love a jammy rose. But there's a note in Rose Jam that I can't quite get along with and I have to wait 15-20 mins before I start to enjoy it. But not so with Love Chopard, so I'm in heaven.

giovanna8787

This perfume is like a good girl gone bad,in a sexy way! I don't normally like rose perfumes, they're too 'vanilla ' for me,but oh,boy, was i wrong! This one is a dark rose,it projects like an animal and it's sexy and elegant at the same time. As everyone else said,i smell rose and pepper and maybe just a hint of leather?
It became one of my favorite blind buys
Although I love it i don't recommend it for a blind buy,it's not a commercial scent and i fell it can be hate it/love ot

drugstore classics

It's interesting how much a fragrance impression can vary from person to person....

On me, Love Chopard is very much akin to Portrait of a Lady, only a red version, if you will. The scent is strong, happy, cheerful, and almost juicy without quite getting there. It's not a bit sweet on me and I don't smell anything much in the notes other than bright, middle eastern style rose and patchouli. If you hate patchouli, look elsewhere! On the other hand, I like Love better than Portrait - this is brighter. Strong and long lasting. I wore it to bed and woke up with a residue clearly still on my skin. That's what I like!

So, for patchouli lovers who also enjoy a mostly unsweetened red rose, I can highly recommend. For those who enjoy beautiful red bottles, I recommend. And for those men who also might enjoy wearing rose with patchouli, I recommend. Avoid if you want a sweet or girly or shy rose. This is not her!

EDIT!

I have now worn Love Chopard on various occasions and in different weather. I can't imagine how I got Portrait of a Lady out of this Amazing, Resinous, Oriental Rose! I guess the patchouli and rose hit me in the nose and initially obscured the other notes. But Love is FAR more like a sister of Calligraphy Rose than anything else. As Calligraphy Rose may be discontinued, this is good news indeed.

Very well blended scent, rich with resins and patchouli and grounded with an arid powder and spice. It has a bit more of a potpourri vibe than Calligraphy Rose... and yet they are similar. I have great respect for this complex rose, no doubt inspired by the middle east, and rich in the best possible way. There is a hint of sweetness and vanilla, but it never overpowers the bold rose and perfect balance. Kudos. One of the best recent rose releases I have tested.

If you like this type of rose but prefer cardamom and sandalwood to cinnamon and patchouli, check out Al Rehab's Shaikhah. It's a bit sharp in the opening and then becomes a simply gorgeous, unsweetened sandalwood/rose/green cardamom scent with some saffron. So good. Shaikhah and Calligraphy Rose are the best Oriental roses I own and my true favorites in this category. <3

So I went to brunch with one of my best friends. She whipped out a 50ml of this baby and said “You can have this. It’s so rosy, it turns my stomach!” Girl, say what??

And you know what? It didn’t just turn her stomach, it turned my world out of its axis! I LOVE this. I hadn’t smelled such jammy, rich, juicy and exotic rose centric perfume like this in forever. It’s rosy rosy and rosy. If you are not a rose fan, do not blind buy. It can be overwhelming. But for me, in this case, one man’s trash, it’s another mans treasure!

Mrs. Fernandes

I bought mine from Harrods based on youtubers review since I like rose scents.
At first spray I find it disgusting, and regretted buying it.
I tried it several times but the opening is really not good on my skin. It smells like burnt wood but this goes away in few minutes.
The dry down is the good part, the burnt wood is softened but no sweetness or anything vanilla like. Most perfumes are great during dry down because of the sweet vanilla, this does not have.
To me this is like a faded and wet incense.
I wear this when I want to smell mature and cold.
This does not project strong and the sillage is not that great too. It is more of a skin scent, it is a personal scent.
This is for those who does not want to smell like the mainstream, it not a common perfume scent but it is not a commonly liked scent too. You have to acquire the scent to appreciate it.

Mousica

This is wonderfull, the deep rose is quite playfull with the spicies, well blended pink pepper with the cinnamon... All tempered somehow by the mandarin/orange that i feel it a lil bitter... Perfaps from the spicies...
I found it under a 10 ml flacon, with edp woth 79%... wow... I can't wait to see how will perform.

Mc1995

GORGEOUS deep rose. Rose on rose on rose. Rose usually is not my favorite note at all, I’m trying to get on the band wagon. The dry down is the best part with that vanilla and brown sugar. This isn’t a fresh rose. Not like a Chloe EDP or that type. Opulent and intoxicating. Without being nauseating. Similar to Portrait Of A Lady but even more feminine, sweeter. Less dry as that one. Amazing value too. The bottle from Chopard is qualitative and beautiful. The fragrance is absolutely niche quality. Of course it’s discontinued as all the beautiful fragrances seem to be. But you can definitely still buy it online. Worth it.

Aleauv

Jammy rose overdose , it is in the same family with TF rose prick and Lush rose jam .These are juicy red roses, sweetened with a dash of honey, without being cloying . As it was pointed out by other's reviews, longevity could be better, but overall it makes me feel so happy and cheerful, is such a romantic scent, I am smitten.

EDIT: after a few months wearing it, it started to turn my stomach, it became so cloying, had to give it away

amanda-m-lewis

This isn't for everyone but it is for lovers of Middle Eastern rose centric, rich, decadent, heavy, slightly spicy fragrances WITHOUT oud.

To give a good visual, I would describe it as like wearing a rick, thick, syrupy rose absolue or a really good quality rose water on steroids, made from thousands of roses like: Tea rose, Damascus rose, Bulgarian rose, Moroccan rose, Turkish rose, Taif rose and probably all the rose variations known to man, for effect!! and I loves it.

Then add some honey, honey with orange blossom: drizzled into the thick, syrupy absolue. Next comes dashes of: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cocoa essence, Vanilla, Tonka bean, Brown sugar, just dashes to warm the absolute, and give you the feeling that you are about to presented before the whole Arabic court, with kohl lidded eyes, and they can smell you before you arrive, as this is a whole ritual you are wearing at this point and you are ready to roll and all eyes are on you.

So, its Its good for when you want to make an impression and a trail.

Vesi_

Smells like the natural Bulgarian Rose Absolue - enchanting. I am in Love. 🧡

shewasgarbo

A nauseating potpourri of roses - I say potpourri, because this ensemble is hardly fresh nor inviting. The abundance of roses is overwhelming and offensive, with the spices and relegated to background cameos. There is nothing young nor old about this scent - it is far too oppressive. If The Roses of Heliogabalus were a perfume, this would be it.

June venus

"a rose juice" with aromas and spices ...
For those who, like me, want a rose perfume that is not fresh and fruity but warm and spicy, here is Love chopard. I find it sweet and enveloping. I feel the rose, pink pepper, cinnamon but I also feel the violet in the background. The nose is Morillas, which usually creates sweet, delicate, ethereal scents ... This perfume, on the other hand, I feel carnal, decisive, a really strong rose that captivates the senses and enchants me. Can't wait to hear it in the cold season. We will fall in love ....

JDT81

I blind bought this because I came across a good deal for it and I'm a rose fiend. And as well as the abundance of rose listed in the notes, almost all of the other notes listed are some of my favourite notes in perfume so I thought it could be a potential signature scent for me. Going by the notes and the reviews on here I was anticipating rose on rose on rose. Instead what I got was a peppery, tangy, almost medicinal patchouli with some orangy sweetness. I don't know if I've become anosmic to rose with almost all the perfume I own having a rose note, but I got almost no rose from this, if at all. Perhaps I'm mistaking a blend of patchouli and rose for just patchouli. It's still quite a nice perfume. I just have to be in a certain mood to wear it.

tonkatsu335

The beauty of this red bottle made me do blind buy. I regret it.

Scent is too strong and makes me feel bad even I put it on my waist only 1 push.
Maybe it is because of the patchouli and honey in it, which I hate. The scent makes me lose my appetite and makes me nauseous.

As such, I can't smell the fragrance in much detail, but a simple description is that it is not a fresh rose fragrance. It is very heavy and moist. I can also detect a hint of incense.

SandyMelak

nice bottle
BAD scent
pretty much heavy dose of rose with eastern touch
hate it

tsth

I normally love Chopard fragrances, but even though this one is in a stunning bottle, it was just too heavy in rose. Upon initial spray it was rose, rose and more roses. Not a hint of sweet anywhere at all but just a very sharp heavy rose. Too sharp and too heavy for me. I looked this up on fragrantica and was hopeful because of all the wonderful other notes that were in this, like cinnamon, patch, woods, vanilla and honey! But I got absolutely NONE of these other notes. I was so disappointed...the composition sounded like it would be amazing, but it wasn't for me at all.

madonnatella

this is a fantastic perfume. I almost got knocked out by all the roses while the flacon was still closed in its box. Alberto Morillas knows how to keep perfumes at once dense and airy but here it is still more to my liking: a smothering by a junglist hothouse of roses and then some. but precisely it is this dimension of 'then some' that gives this extraordinary assault by these queens of flowers, space and still more dimension and definition. at first the cinnamon, the pink pepper which I could smell with inbetween wafts...., the violet and jasmine which are classic pairings with 'a rose' or with 'thousand roses' and then especially also the patchouli which had just as well could have been oud. there is a continuous streaming of roses, sometimes the more tingling note of the Taifi rose and often the (luckily) asphyxiating wall of Roses Damasq, Bulgaire, Maroccaine and Turque which take you hostage to a far and féerique land. for me this already is the discovery of the year and I am inclined to say Morillas did 'a Ropion' on this Chopard perfume 'Love'.

SanjuktaB

For anyone who is from India or has been there, this perfume smells like a very expensive Banarasi paan with a sweet, mentholated spicy rose.
Its amazing how natural the ingredients smell . This is very oriental, sweet and woody and not at all comparable to western interpretations of orientals like Lancome's Oud Bouquet or Nina Ricci's L'Extase Rose Absolue. And its not turkish delight either so definitely sample before buying.I think people from South Asia and the Middle East will really appreciate the smell as it is so familiar in our culture. The longevity and projection is good and value for money is amazing . My best blind buy so far this year.

I picked this up as a blind buy for the Valentine red bottle and its golden label heart. I am on the fence with this. I loved Casmir and the notes listed drew me in. Alberto Morillas created it and the now lost YSL M7. The introduction of a modernized oud in 2002 is revisited. I wondered about the dark cacao listed. I find it nowhere in this composition. As far as all of the various roses listed, I get a few here and there, nothing like the large bouquet advertised. There is that tart pink berry note that seems to dominate the opening. There is a little violet and orange blossom covered in the syrupy sugar that almost gets out of hand.

If anyone remembers Chopard Madness, it gets a tribute here. Sour pink pepper roses in in hefty red bottle. Overall, there is nothing groundbreaking or original here. If you are looking for a giant bouquet of roses, try elsewhere. It's not worth blind buy of $70. Trendy and comfortable, but this is no breakthrough creation.

Yes, then comes the ever so familiar oud note from M7. Sweet cough syrup that seems woody. This is like a distant flanker that would have been launched by "YSL M7 Rouge". Its overall pleasant, wearable and stays next to the skin until your next shower. I only wish the oud note was listed clearly...

I got a 50 ml of this today, and I don't regret it, even though it leaves me still searching for my dream rose. I dream of a deep, dark but sweet, sensual or even sexy, maybe a little plummy fragrance. Maybe musky or animalic? Had a wonderful such thing that I bought in my youth, of a totally unknown brand. I have the empty bottle still, and it smells wonderful... Does.anyone have a suggestion???
Well, this one, Chopard Love, is nice. It is warmer and softer than the quite sour Valentina Rosa Assoluto, and less of the plain sugar on top of the too sour rose which are the only two notes I can feel in the much praised Nina Ricci L'Extase Rose Absolue. That one I find absolutely boring...
Love Chopard still has a little touch of that sour note, for my liking. But it is warmer and rounder, so it is a keeper for me.
It gets a like, not a love, from me. On a scale of 10: it gets a 6.

Edit: I like this more trying it the second time, after a warm shower before bed. I sprayed it more liberately this time, so it wafts around me rather than that I stick my nose in it. Lighter and warmer like that. A little oldfashioned in a nice way.
Now it even gets a 6,5 from me. 😁

This was a real challenge for me. I highly dislike rose notes in fragrances, and I avoid them, but something made me think about this all the time, and of course I ended up ordering it - and yes, it was a blind buy.

But... this goes over my expectations and even above that. The rose here is jammy, juicy, sweet, like Turkish delight (loukhoum), with powdered sugar all over it. I am spraying on my wrist before I go to bed, so I can smell it all the time. I still don't like rose in other perfumes, and also, I don't find this similar to TT Porpora at all, because that's too noisy fragrance, and this one is calming and delicious.

Love Chopard is a beautiful gourmand rose perfume. I have read and listened to many reviews on this perfume before deciding to blind buy it. Some that have reviewed it have said it is a deep, woody, incense rose perfume and others have said it is a sweet gourmand rose. I was hoping for the gourmand rose because I have other rose perfumes that are a deep rich patchouli incense type of rose perfumes, but if it ended up being an incense rose I would be ok w/ that because I love rose perfumes, so I went ahead and bought it not knowing which rose my nose would get. I agree w/ those that have said this is a gourmand rose. When you 1st spray this it smells like an all natural rose water face mist as the fragrance progresses more roses bloom, sweet roses, powdery roses, and a slight green rose but very slight green mind you. Then a touch of cinnamon, pink pepper and candied violet w/ a touch of orange and vanilla blend w/ all the roses. These rose petals have also been coated w/ a brown sugar and honey, they are very sweet. This perfume smells like rose candy. I have a tea from Providence Perfume Company that is called Brambleberry Rose and it is a sweet rose black tea and this perfume reminds me a bit of that tea w/ sugar added. This is not a heavy perfume, it is sweet, soft, feminine and very romantic. This would be perfect to wear on a Valentine's Date night, or any date night for that matter. And Love is the perfect name for this perfume because the bottle, and the fragrance inspires Love w/ the beautiful smell of candied roses.

Edit: 12/10/21 The cacao comes through more in the last dry, dry down. Like cooking chocolate combined w/ the last of the sweet roses. I just love this perfume. If you like gourmands (I never was a gourmand person but I think the trick w/ that genre is it has to smell natural and not like synthetic cake batter) and love roses give this beautiful rose perfume a try.

Hmmm. I'm glad this was only $60 as a blind buy. Not cheap, but this wasn't what I was expecting--I know, I know, you can't listen to a list of notes, but c'mon, I thought this was like a rose rosey rosiest rosier rose rosetastic perfume with supposedly ROSE added 6 times? WELL.

There's rose...kind of a shy rose that waxes and wanes during the wear. Sometimes I feel like it's been sent underwater and occasionally it comes up for gasps of air. Sometimes there's a bit of thorny stem, sometimes a sense of rose jam is apparent. The same thing goes for the accent spices--the spices are smooth and polite and exist only around the edges, sometimes I can get a HINT of sandalwood too, but it's...not much.

Love Chopard though really has a metric ton of violets covered in confectioners sugar. More powdered sugar than violet at that. It's...sweet. Sugary sweet. The sweet sugar powder notes are way stronger and more assertive than the rose notes. I enjoy desserty roses, and would have liked to see some cinnamon, vanilla, and honey notes on their own, but frankly the whole thing dries down to a vanilla so sweet it's more like frosting...it smells close to the dry down of D & G's The Only One, which I do enjoy wearing on occasion, but that's not what I was looking for in this perfume.

For people that love cavity inducing sweet perfumes with some suffocated rose notes in there, this isn't a bad way to go but this isn't a spicy, warm rose at all. It's not bad but it's disappointing.

ETA: This DOES NOT smell like POAL! Dont buy this thinking that it's a dupe or even a cousin.

I tried this scent today and it is what it says it contains. Overwhelmingly pungent, artificial rose. I love rose scents, like Perles de Lalique (also very budget friendly) or some Chloe Perfumes. This one is just very tacky and the artifical rose overpowers all the other ingredients. When I read the notes I hoped it to be a gourmandy rose with the cacao, vanilla with a patchouli - which I hoped to give this scent dimension - that gives a good base. It's a no for me, because it's not only tacky, it smells dated.

Vlada_Pechenaya

I own this, and it is beautiful. And potent! For the price, the quality is amazing! Quite a steal.
As a rose lover, this satisfies my cravings a lot of the times. This rose is a luxurious full body bouquet of red roses, with some spices and woods underneath. Ventures into oriental, but stays on the European territory. Rich and natural rose essences were used, you can tell.

One spray on the neck is enough to be able to smell this the whole day. I once over sprayed this beauty and gave my mom, also a rose lover, a terrible migraine. Opps. Better go light handed with this one!

Mood: luxury, opulence, magnetism, natural, feminine, queen, diva, divine, powerful, memorable and makes a presence. Not for the shy!

lyrily

First try of this fragrance: Turkish delight with a spicy kick: Rose, sugar and cinnamon. Very gourmand, is making me hungry!

diana2015

This is a good-quality rose fragrance that starts off jammy sweet and, as it dries down, it gets an oriental turn from the base notes, an incense-like scent that makes me realize this has more depth than meets the eye. It's also slightly powdery from the violet, the patchouli here is smooth, sensual, blending beautifully with the honey and cacao, bringing along an almost gourmand vibe deep in the dry-down.
After several hours (it has an amazing longevity, at least on my skin), the sandalwood becomes more noticeable, lending a woody character to the composition. I doubt there's any agarwood in it, though.
I can't say it's the best rose perfume I've ever come across, but it's remarkably well-done and feminine, with a very good performance for the price. If you like sweet rose orientals, this is definitely worth checking out.

putraothman

very beautiful and delicate rose fragrance. in the opening i got some fizziness from the fresh sweet rose, remind me of rose flavored drinks. the rose getting jammy in the middle notes and turn dry and powdery at the base. if i sniff on my skin i can smell the cocoa and brown sugar very softly.

performance: about 4 hours on skin before it totally gone but it lasted for days on fabric. moderate projection and sillage. not worth paying full price, wait for discount

noseinheaven

Super luscious roses. This is more roses roses roses than Rose Pompon. That one is a big rose with lots of other sweet florals vying for interest.
Love is strong roses. And fresh garden roses have so many facets, some smell lemony, some smell like berries or myrrh, or pledge, or Chambord. All these real life fresh rose facets are somehow here in Love.
And even better this doesn’t turn to some sad version of old potpourri on me like some rose perfume have, like Jo Malone red roses..on me.
This rose is the eternal rose. Rose of the garden that is fresh, but in full blooooom 🌹

tandem_4x4

I bought 100 ml bottle of Love. The bottle is very beautiful with a heavy glass lid. The juice is the rose wrapped in the rose and buried in the roses. The rose is jammy, juicy, sweet and a bit sour. I do not feel any patchouli or cacao. It remind me Magnolia Rosae from Lancome Grand Cru line.

EDIT: I was wearing Love for 2 days in a row. It is very beautiful, but longevity and projection are not the best. So I am taking shower of it now :-) as it is so nice

nordstorm

An absolutely brutal quality for the price (around 30€ for 100ml in Germany at the moment)! The most prominent note is the delicate creamy bulgarian rose. The perfume smells from a distance like a turkish delight. A top notch opulent blend, performance and presentation. I love it (I am saying this as a guy, who is not into the rose scents!). I have already stashed couple of bottles for my wife.

PS: Don't forget Rose Seljuke!

I am a rose lover and, oh, how I wanted to love this perfume. Judging by the notes, this would have been a dream scent! 6 types of roses with slight gourmand notes of vanilla, cocoa, honey and cinnamon? Maybe even some powdery violets? Sounded right up my alley. I was hoping for a deep, rich, multifaceted rose perfume. This ain't it unfortunately. It starts with a sour rose that is overpowered by a sharp, metallic, oud-like accord (there is no oud listed in the notes though) Luckily, that dies down after a while but still remains somewhat present throughout the drydown. But the main scent that i get is that of translucent, concentrated rosewater with some sharp undertones. A bit like rose jam, but I wouldn't describe this as a "jammy" rose because it's not (that) sweet. Maybe a dietetic, homemade rose jam without much sugar. I don't get any of the gourmand notes, nor the violets. And on top of all that, the sillage and longevity are quite poor, which would not be a problem for me, as i don't mind overspraying these scented waters they call perfume these days, but that sharp opening bothers me so much that I can't deal with it. I couldn't find a sample of this anywhere, so this was a blind buy fail, unfortunately. An inexpensive one, but a fail nonetheless.
EDIT: I found this scent is actually good for layering, if I want the rose note to stand out in a perfume this does the job quite nicely, but I wouldn't wear it on its own.

reborn

If you dont like roses in a perfume ,dont even try this.It is mostly heavy ,oily ,dusty roses over another roses.

anikolic

It's a lovely and rich rose scent. All you can notice is roses, a variety of them. Not something incredible but a very nice rose for a rose lover, smells natural and powerful

Fleurdecoco

I was blown away. Harem of Arabia. Regal Roses and Oud blend, a lethal injection of opulence. Top notch quality. Induced false memories of me being a Desert Queen (maybe in my past life?). If you love rose and oud, you'd love this for sure. Projection and staying power was incredible for me.

Alunuca

Very nice Damascus rose in this one, which I love very much. I don't smell the cacao, but the patchouli is definitely there. Doesn't last very long on me. It is almost (Love has more rose at the beginning) a dupe for Rose Oud from Yves Rocher and I'm glad because that one is now discontinued.

Lawla

Deep Dark Cacao and Rose.

Singabera

It opens with slightly sour oudy rose, not extra over sweet and into your face (like Montale Intense Cafe for example).
In few minutes it gets a bit creamy reminding me of milk shake or ice cream as if it would be made with roses :)
In 10 min it turns full power on and you feel beautiful roses in late bloom stage - sweet but not too much, alluring and dizzying. It has similar vibes to Lush Rose Jam to me.
Development is linear and longevity is not so good - around 3-4 hours in hot day.
Overall I like it, despite I'm not roses lover.
It's natural, very pleasant perfume which takes you to garden with roses bushes)

brietexas

I bought a sample of this online. This is a ROSE BOMB. If you love rose, you're going to flip over this. To my nose, this is rose with a bit of chocolate. Long-lasting. Not much projection as neither my husband nor son noticed it after I sprayed.

melikaofpersia

To my nose, this is very similar to Gucci Oud, a little softer on the oud and harsher on the rose (therefore, more feminine than Gucci Oud). If I had to chose between Love Chopard and Gucci Oud, I’m pretty sure I would go for Love Chopard.
Being an oriental woman, this fragrance reminds me of rich oriental women back in the Middle East. Taif rose is a very popular note in authentic oriental perfumes and oils, so it always makes me happy to see western fragrance companies use them.
Maybe it’s the nostalgia, maybe it’s the homesickness, but either way I really like this fragrance. It’s rich, happy, timeless and the notes are well blended imo.

I’m used to smelling this all year around, even in the heat, so I do think you can wear it regardless of the weather. That being said, I can also understand why people might prefer to wear it in colder months.

The only thing I will say is that, to my nose, this is obviously not a very unique scent. However, I still think that if you’re looking for a nice rosey oriental fragrance, this is a very good option.

Calvini

This is NOT just a rose fragrance—in fact, it's not really all that rosy; it's heavily influenced by the rose-oud trend with a sour woody note.

Parfumului35

This is amazing

Is like i am in a rose garden eating chocolate :)

Amazing....

But this is a strong scent so wear is with precaution :)

A beautiful copy for fans of rose nacret by Guerlain

lulu169

Love the notes as I love cocoa honey vanilla cinnamon and patchouli. ..sounds like a true gourmand to me...can't wait to try. Plus Chopard is known for long lasting perfumes like Wish Happy Spirit or Casmir

lmwimsatt

It's about time chopard release something new. This looks good, but jeez, do they really need to put so many rose icons in the pyramid? Its distracting!
