IT SMELLS GOOD, ITS PERFORMANCE IS GOOD BUT IT IS USED A LOT

mumenlara

It's lost its uniqueness. Seems like everyone and their uncle is wearing it now. Plus, there are plenty of clones out there that smell just as good. That being said, it's still a pleasant fragrance.

IfLooksCouldKill

This is a very masculine, classic, and alluring scent. I purchased a bottle for my husband after he tried a sample.

I won’t get into the minutia; I just want to say: that on an attractive, clean, healthy man this emits an archetypal scent reminiscent of Sean Connery as 007.

***Note: I can imagine if the man is unclean, has a poor PH, has health problems/poor nutrition then ANY fragrance is going to smell off-putting… it’s surely not the fragrance's fault (especially this one).

KingKilo

The lemon and pineapple combo' gives a nice sweet and sour touch, to an otherwise very "green" smell. It instantly reminded me of long walks through the mountain side of France.
It does dry down into this woody, mossy scent.

Not as long lasting as I would have liked, but I think the sillage is perfect for this fragrance. Not too wild, not too "in your face". Just a nice musk, for when someone greets you, or walks past you.

BantamDraper

L’Aventure EDP by Al Haramain has the fruitier opening-mid. Supremacy Not Only Intense by Afnan has the depth/woodiness from open-drydown. And I have yet to try Mont Blanc, but NOTHING has come close to that signature woody, pineapple char that seeps out between the black currant and musk that Creed has. You pay more because you GET more. Theres a reason why this frag has continued it’s reign.

jcocore

First got Aventus in 2017 but that bottle was unfortunately stolen from me. Thought I would see what the new batches were all about and just received my new bottle today from jomashop (F000545) and it's good. Projection seems to be good. Drydown is a little more peppery patchouli than I remember and honestly speaking, VERY close to CDNIM LE...

@Rickardinho you’re a 🤡🤡🤡🤡

Listen, every man should own this fragrance. I own a F batch with metal cap. In my experience the pineapple opening lasts about 30 minutes until it starts to settle into the smoke and woods. Notes aside... this smells like sophistication and confidence. Lasts all day. I personally consider this a Fall & Winter fragrance.

PRICE: 8/10. Creed is Creed. You get what you pay for with this fragrance.

PERFORMANCE: 8/10. Lasts all day. Opening fades too soon. Projects 4-5 feet for 4-6 hours.

SCENT: 10/10. The Pioneer of fruit with smoke/woods.

pilot123

I found it to be too smoky. Mont Blanc explorer is a bit more citrusy and fresher, less smoky, I find that to be a bit more pleasant. They last about the same amount of time, and explorer is orders of magnitude less expensive.

dgjeans

Great cheapie, I use it as a bathroom spray after I take a big stinky pootiepoo.

Erianwyn

I first smelled this on a friend’s boyfriend around a decade ago. I had no idea what it was or who it was by, but I spent the evening sniffing after him like a starving dog smelling steak. I love this on a man, provided it suits his skin chemistry. This has suffered the same difficulty as BR540, which is massive overhype, and people expect way too much from it. I’m glad I smelled it the first time with no idea what it was, because that didn’t happen to me. I loved it then and I love it now (same as BR540, actually). But please, please don’t overspray! There’s nothing worse than an obnoxious cloud of ANYTHING if the rest of us can taste it.

Kraemer

Pineapples don't smoke. Aventus is a conspiracy.

manuelemilianofdz

19u01 batch, bought beginning 2021, its amazing, it keeps getting better

samuelares

A very good scent although it does not last at all on me, it might be the batch I have I am not sure.

7.5/10 way overpriced and cheaper alternatives do it better.

hanaabdullah2114

I tried many same idea same opening fragrances but this one smells more expensive

jaywizard

I am unsure which batch I am currently experiencing, perhaps a newer one since I ordered a 5ml decant, either way, this is the only scent that has gotten me multiple compliments and comments within the workplace in a single day. My coworker stated he could smell my "aura" in the elevator minutes after I returned to the office, which surprised and shocked me. I went nose blind to this fragrance relatively quickly, even while trying to avoid spraying my neck/chest too heavily, but regardless it seemed that everyone around me could smell me perfectly fine 6-7 hours into my shift.
Funnily enough, I've worn CDNIM in the same workplace several times, and have not received nearly as many comments on it in a short span, yet I can personally smell the CDNIM quite strongly projecting for 10-12 hours. It's strange how much subjectivity effects this hobby. Maybe it's just missing the "aura" lmao.
I'm a big fan of this smell. It's natural, fresh but heavy, packed with complexity. Signature scent worthy, special occasion worthy, all of it. I can see why it gets such high accolades. The dry down simply does not get any better, it transforms in a really special way over time. I'm excited to try the rest of the Creed line, especially Aventus Cologne.

sloan.welch

Creed Aventus was the first niche perfume in my collection. I got a decant of it and fell in love with the scent. I had smelled other fragrances like Aventus, Mont Blanc Explorer, and Club de Nuit Intense Man, but none of them were Aventus. OG Aventus just has something to it that makes it special to me. I agree that it is extremely overpriced and probably not worth that price tag, but if you can find it for a decent price, I would buy it. If you are a collector of fragrance, I think that you should eventually get a bottle of Creed Aventus.

William_Paul

Signature scent…wearing Batch 16K11 one of my favorites.

Joe Brrr

Nestled within the ethereal realm of fragrance lies a titan - Creed Aventus. Like the spirited saga of a valiant hero, this scent embarks on a journey that transcends mere olfactory delight; it's an experience, a legend in a bottle.

Picture this: a symphony of pineapple, blackcurrant, apple, and bergamot harmoniously dance on your skin, heralding your presence like a grand entrance at a royal banquet. As the scent settles, birch and patchouli weave a tale of sophistication, reminiscent of a seasoned explorer returning from a far-off land with tales of conquest.

The longevity of this elixir is no less than mythical. It clings to you like a loyal sidekick, whispering tales of your grandeur throughout the day. People will follow your scent like treasure hunters chasing a fabled map.

Wearing Creed Aventus is like donning invisible armor - you feel invincible, ready to conquer the world with a wink and a spritz. Beware, though, as with great power comes great responsibility; one must wield this fragrance judiciously, for its potency is not to be underestimated.

In conclusion, Creed Aventus is not just a fragrance; it's an experience. It's a symphony, a tale, a legacy. So, dear reader, if you seek to transcend the mundane and embrace the extraordinary, venture forth and unleash the magic that is Creed Aventus.

Trust me. Do not waste your money on this.

After using Armaf’s CDNIM for a couple of years, I finally decided to buy myself a bottle of “the real deal”.

What a mistake. I really should’ve sampled this first, because now I spent a ridiculous amount of money on nothing more than scented water. This is, without exaggeration, the weakest and most pathetic performing fragrance I have ever owned. It’s shocking.

20 sprays, and still this doesn’t last longer than 20 minutes. CDNIM, on the other hand, will last me all day and 3 sprays are all that’s required.

As far as the actual fragrance goed: my wife and her best friend both prefer Armaf to Aventus. They said it’s more spicy and smells sexier. More mature than Aventus.

Don’t be as silly as me, and don’t waste your money on this. I’m sure this was a lot better back in the day, but now? It’s almost criminal.

Kylitobombito

People always want to hate on this but I can’t deny it’s still really good and gets a lot of positive attention the problem is people have autistic hyper focus about batch dates

umbergavia

Simultaneously stumped yet unsurprised at the amount of raving over this. Of all the colognes, this is one of the most colognes of all time. Acqua di Gio has more personality than this.

Constantly trying on new samples and asking the same coworker's opinion, who's normally very descriptive and great at isolating notes, but even hounding him to try to find something for this, all he could find to say was "you smell like a dude wearing dude cologne" and "it smells like axe body spray." I told him what a full bottle costs and he walked away.

Right there, buddy. Right there with you. If you enjoy the genero-male fragrances, that's fine, but for the love of anything reasonable in this world, do not spend this kind of money on it. Get a bottle of some store brand EDT for $20. Or a can of Axe at Walmart.

ssiittyyuu

Such a beautiful and sophisticated scent. If I spray it on, my mood just lifting up. I can smell this in every minute, I can’t get enough of it.

Niche enjoyer

I bought the 50ml (1.7fl.oz) back in 2022 and this was easily the most expensive fragrance that I had, good fruity and smoky smell, but for that price I can build a whole fucking collections with one niche two designers and some arabic fragrances all that for $320.I regret buying this, and If you're Elon Musk or smth like that, then there is no problem to wear this cologne. At this point you can get something with better projection and longevity. Overall not the best for it's price.

appolon

I bought 2022 batch and am already selling it. What happened with the longevity and projection?! I thought the rumors are exaggerating but on my skin, the fragrance holds 5 hrs max, after which it stays only as a barely noticeable skin aroma.

K98

It's not that Creed doesn't care, they just may not care about what you care about.

Credit where credit is due. Aventus is a modern masterpiece and perhaps one of the greatest masculine, mass-appealing, day & night fragrances of the last 20 years period. In many ways Creed has earned their hefty price tag. However, obviously Aventus has it's alternatives. From the tasteful changes made by Montblanc, to the brazen copies created by Armaf and co. I've enjoyed a number of these alternatives too, with each having something different, sometimes good, often bad, about them.

However, there is only one king, one Aventus. Only one perfume will give you the true, full experience. The open, middle, and dry-down that this modern classic does. Not only is it a beautiful scent, or multiple beautiful scents orchestrated into one seamless experience, but it is also a work of art and a piece of fragrance history. And how does one put a price on that?

Scent: 9.5/10
Performance: 7/10
Value: impossible to say

Overall: 9/10

Oz1212

Middddddddddddd, does not last at all for the expansive price point the silage is not really strong compared to alternatives (blue talisman) for that price I can buy like 200 Big Mac meals

Aventus absolu mad good tho

JangJun

I’m using F000913 batch. Don’t listen to older comment about projection and longevity. It project within half arm length with sillage close to your skin at 4hrs max. They are hyped to pick money from your pocket, my friend. Best way is test at store before you guy trigger.

Afan adil butt

I wish I bought 2017 batch

I don’t understand all that hype bullcr*p about this fragrance. I received a test sample when I bought better fragrances, equally expensive. I sprayed on my wrists and neck. At beginning was ok, not wow, just an ok masculine fragrance, but later it gave me nausea. I had to was my clothes, to get rid of that sticky Granpa smell.

About 10 years ago I had the original Aventus in a 120ml bottle, which was sublime and out of this world in terms of scent, performance, sillage, compliments etc and worth every penny (even a bargain).

Fast forward to today and I received my sample of the current Aventus straight from Creed, and I’m sorry to say it’s just a meagre shadow of its original self. It’s lost all of its best qualities, and smells far more synthetic, weak projection, low sillage and all of the ‘colour’ and power has disappeared. Basically, it’s become a flat 2D version of what was once a 3D (perhaps even 4D) masterpiece that words couldn’t really do justice for! And now they have the audacity to massively increase the price. Honestly guys, I strongly advise looking elsewhere at clone houses etc for better and more fairly priced alternatives

m4513726

nice perfume, i like the fresh citrusy smell. NOTHING extraordinary. does not justify as a niche perfume personally

scent - 8.5/10
price value - 0/10
uniqueness - 2/10

kaanc

First bought it 5 to 6 years ago. A staple of the masculine fragrances. Doesn't choke you with 10 different spices or doesn't make you smell like a carpenter's workshop with overabundance of wood scents. Little bit on the higher end of the price scale but definitely worth it. Buuuut like every good thing in life this has its downsides. Being around for almost 15 years and not deviating from the path of continuously making good batches made everybody and their grandpa buy this fragrance.

Gurreu

Kudos to the nice review below me (lithohydobio).
It is a good frame of reference and i have a similar perspective. Some of those i have not tried, but I still had different batches from different years. My personal all time favourite has been 18g02.

I wanted to add that I dont necessarily think the newest batches will be bad in a few years. My 21 batch had me disappointed initially but i actually like it a lot now :)

lithohydrobio

My Aventus baby book:
2010 I smell a guy at a mall wearing it. I start to look into Creed slowly. The following is what ive collected over the years:

10E02 - The genesis. Primitive. The components are ridged and stand apart from one another but only about 3 of them are noticeable to me. Pineapple, tart, some birch stand out but all over cast by a heavier patchouli than many batches. Its dry patchouli pineapple as this dries down. Like a fine but rugged spirit aged in birch barrel. Salty ambergris fixative. Still has the overall smell just sharper/herbaceous.

Unknown 2011 Batch: Working men are having a sexy muscle party around a flaming tarpit, dumping god knows what juices into it. Mainly pineapple. I want to describe this as I smelled it: Black tar smoldering, for real black TAR. like on a new street and just pineapple juice all over it , used to extinguish the flames. Finishes hoppy ambergris sweet like a delicious aventus beverage so to speak. These original batches are almost pineapple herbaceous tart they seem green to me at times. I would not say that this is for all occasions but it’s just so cool to experience. I think this is what CDNIM LE is trying to imitate but they can’t capture the full richness and quality.

13Z01 (not zz01): Sweet syrupy, not really much of smoke on this one , but instead whole pineapple plant, skin, flesh, stalk, juice and all. Smells kinda earthy but clean and juicy at the same time. Still has patchouli.

Never tried a 14

15C01 - Keep getting darker ,still kinda smoky, but now more incense than smoke. Like a dry church incense. That is not the black smoke we were used to. Also now sweeter. Here we have a star anise note, a note that Aventus 'experts' will tell you is from aging some older batches.

Unknown 2016 batch: Its like they said "lets go full on masculine pineapple" and blasted pineapple out the roof like never before. Clones start to become more abundant.

17Q11 - A candy tar mix of all of the above combined with vanilla, literally all in one color combo and sweetest thickest pineapple extract ever replicated..patchouli is the darker earther (less leafy green) type.

18D02- Apple birchtar bomb. Extremely fresh crisp apple skin opening. Not smoky tar but like very gooey thick sweet tar, apple shines here and creates the most powerful "fruity pebbles" batch possible, patchouli is back to being leafy green again, then everything at once on the dry down. A batch like no other..

19S01 -- Fresh Icy Pineapple in a drink with vanilla and cold milk. Has a platinum feel. Other notes not shining, but pineapple sticking on skin all day. Musks.

19P11 -- Holographic Pineapple, again like a pineapple dunked in platinum. A bit more airy woodiness, almost oriental? Musks to support the base.

19S21 -- Vanilla Niche Bomb, but some are weaker than others. Batch inconsistency grows. HEAVY musk in base.

19Y01N - A criticized batch that now goes for hundreds of dollars. The first to introduce a "melon (cantaloupe) note to help support some other failing qualities. Musk accord prior to "N" batch missing. Vanilla and Cantaloupe amped up. At its birth was flat and couldnt sell fast enough. Turned out to age into a interesting smoky batch reminiscent of 2010.

19Z01N - Really Dirty, Animalic profile on top of vanilla. melon, and pineapple. As if Tom Ford made aventus. Very unique batch.

20B01N - More slept on batch that aged well. Smoky and sweet.

20M01 - ever drank blueberry lemonade? berry batch. Cold vanilla and pineapple similar to 19S01 but woodier, more dry birch. Somehow has a purplish berry juice opening.

2021: Some batches were good but not enough to find which they are. Bound to be some hidden gems to this day from 2021.

2022: Kinda like 2021, perhaps worse? Havent tried many from here again some are bound to be good eventually.

2023 F Batch 00093something: airy aventus all notes showing, but not thick or juicy at all but just like smoothed and almost transparent. No thick vanilla or anything like that. But on these you can smell each note individually so that’s pretty cool. Sounds like they actually found a way to keep batches consistent for the long haul and more customers happy. Aventus lounge "nerds" havent been happy in a long time anyway, but they should goodwell know it takes 5 years to age some unsatisfactory batches anyway.

Wearing 19P11. Well aged beauty. Amazing pineapple-oakmoss-cognac meltdown!

The craziest thing literally just happened. I have the habit of blind picking samples from my sample orders. This evening I put on a full 2 ml sample, about 20 sprays (I’m not a sissy sprayer) before going on a date. Immediately I am mesmerized by the fruity smoky cloud that hits me, it’s pure luxury.

My date comes to pick me up at about 5 o’clock, she has pretty average smell compared to me. Whatever, I’m used to it. She was probably wearing some cheap designer stuff. When we start walking towards the car, I notice something peculiar. My date is leaving a snail-like gooey trail. Weird, I think, but get distracted by our conversation. In hindsight it was a precursor for what was about to come.

When we enter the restaurant we get greeted by the waiter, whose eyes spread wide open the moment he enters my vicinity. “Good evening sir” he says “You have an amazing aura, you smell somewhat like a billionaire CEO”. Flattered by his comment I follow him towards our table, where a new waiter comes to take our order. “I sense an ‘old money’ atmosphere at this table, would you like to try our most expensive wine, for free?” Slightly surprised I comply. When he leaves I hear an overwhelming, slowly increasing wave of whispers coming from the entire restaurant. I can pick out phrases like “amazing projection”, “sigma male energy“, “incredibly sexy”, “absolutely not an NPC” and “a real panty-dropper”. I can barely focus on my date.

Finally our food arrives. After I take my first bite, the whole restaurant starts clapping. I decide to take off my jacket because all this attention is making me feel overheated. This releases a beastmode tsunami of olfactory genius. A guy offers me his wife. One of the waitresses runs towards me from across the restaurant like a World War Z zombie, takes of her panties and shoves them in my mouth. My date jumps on the table, and screams “POWER!”. She starts beating her chest like a gorilla while squirting uncontrollably, flushing me out of the restaurant.

I try to run home but a horde of at least 50 women is floating behind me sniffing my scent trail like loony tunes characters. They start picking at my skin like vultures. A guy in an all white suit and long blonde hair appears out of nowhere, takes my hand and transports me back to my house. He shows me the sample; “Bless yourself with this holy water”, he says. I look at the label, it reads “Creed Aventus”.

Needless to say I immediately sold my least favorite colour Bugatti to buy 500 gallons of this absolute NICHE quality compliment MONSTER.

micholas

Am I the only person who didn't get invited to that party where everyone was hypnotized in to loving Aventus? I mean it's okay. I've smelt it on and off since its release, I just never understood the cult following. It's not that great and let's be honest, you can't go to a bar/restaurant at night without smelling it on someone (whether that's the original or a knock off).. It's become what Aqua Di Gio used to be.. over hyped and over used!

Zactel

I was finally able to acquire this for a reasonable cost. Fragrance was a recent batch and performance is still very good. I would do 4-5 sprays and heck you can even go with 3 sprays. Creed atomizers spray a lot of fragrance. The opening is very aggressive with the fresh notes so that can leave your nose easily overwhelmed and you might become nose blind quickly if you keep smelling yourself repeatedly. Remember that fragrances always work better than what you think, so avoid being “that guy” that oversprays and while you think nobody notices, they do and think that you drowned yourself with “cologne”.

wilfrido peralta

Es una fregancia de mi agrado.

istvan.buda.779

I was at the club one day and I asked the guy if he wears Aventus ..he said he wears Explorer and had no idea what Aventus was ...So , I wouldn't pay 500 dollars for something that smells like a Mont Blanc fragrance you can buy for 60 dollars

Jaben4Real

My bottle is Batch F000545. Some will care to know that some wont.

This has a nice fresh pineapple and bergamot open. Really fresh and vibrant. The dry down is a nice smoky oakmoss with hints of sweetness.

The projection leaves a bit for improvement. It leaves a light trail and projects an arms length.

Longevity however is great. I could still smell it on myself after a 10 hour workday.

Batch is 7.5/10

Better projection is desired. Great longevity and a balanced, yet common, scent profile.

Arnie678

Just tried a new F batch, performance is worse than current LNDL and that's saying something....

Once the King, now the pauper.

Batches of Aventus these past 3 years or so have been a complete joke for its price. It only lasts roughly 3 hours and it can only be considered slightly scented water at this point.

There are so many great dupes out there that they surpass the OG in its current formulation and at 1/4 of the price.

skibidiman

very expensive, niche fragrance. outstanding pineapple and fruity opening with masculine base, perfect for summer.

Basic, boring, overhyped to the extreme.

A good fragrance is the blended of naturals with synthetics to mimic a reality. If it’s to many naturals it won’t last if it’s to much synthetics it will last for days but probably smell horrible. Jean-Christophe Hérault (Aventus) and Pierre Bourdon (Green Irish tweed) with a good creative director like Olivier Creed they made a fragrance that mimics a natural a natural experience. People equate a fragrance lasting all day as good. But no a fragrance that can last 4-6hrs thats almost perfectly blended to gives a natural experience is the true definitions of a not good but great fragrance.

Aventus is #1 searched fragrance in 2023 with a search volume of 772,500 that gives it the highest popularity score of 9.43 out of 10. Aventus is rank #9 in the world in most selling fragrance with value rank of $26.80M. No other niche fragrance is nowhere near or on this list.
Jean-Christophe Hérault created the true definition of a masterpiece. So while your complain about batch this batch that, xerrjof this nishane that, clone this clone that! Aventus is King 👑 that’s a wrap!

WatermelonPlum603

Oh boy this was a let-down. I've been bombarded by this fragrance EVERYWHERE online. I heard Gordan Ramsay wears it and decided to buy a decant for my husband to try it out. I was SO excited to open it and oh gosh I was sad. The smell reminds me of aftershave. A simple generic aftershave. No real depth to it whatsoever. My husband put some on his wrist and it still just smelled of aftershave/shower gel. Def not worth the price. Hubby also was underwhelmed.

jokcoy

The king of fragrance that surely has been cloned the most. By any means, just go with the clones. They are better at projection and longevity. It's a great scent, but way overhyped. And creed nowadays kinda dull and not perform well. The price keeps going up but the quality keeps declining. Oh, and one more; it's apparently smells great for most men but most women I met didn't really notice or even care about the smell. The best thing I've got is, "It's just nice"

Gaboich

Highly dissapointed. Tried this yesterday and im not even joking when i say it smells like sweat after a few mins. It is decent after a few hours but i expected more

projection and longevity both above average on my skin

for the price u can get something better

My story kinda works in reverse. For me it all started in 2020 with Club de Nuit Intense Man. This would be the catalyst that would eventually led me to discovering Creed and thus Aventus. It wouldn't be until early 2023 that I'd learn my CDNIM and MB Explorer were dupes and inspos of another fragrance called Aventus, originated by a niche perfume brand name Creed.

As you could imagine, learning this left me wanting to smell this Aventus. So I ordered a sample. Since CDNIM smelled so good to me, and MB Explorer was pretty good too, I had pretty high expectations. The sample arrives and I finally smell this.. Aventus. I was completely blown away by the sheer quality of it. I had no idea that the quailty of a perfume could be perceived so vividly and influence the way you perceive the whole composition.

Now, the "look at me" vibe of CDNIM has never been my personality, which is one of the reasons why I stopped wearing it. And MB Explorer was good but I never reached for it. Aventus however had an artless, lively, subtle elegant confidence that was simple yet complex in how it presented itself in it's layers. It did all of this in an incredibly clean, smooth and natural way. I loved it immediately.

Aventus was light-years ahead of CDNIM and MB Explorer. I respect the dupes and inspos in so far as they capture aspects of the original, but Aventus has this thing 🤌🤌🤌 about it....and it's not mere hype. It is really THAT good. The endless dupes are themselves proof of that. To me the dupes compare in the same way a photograph of a person capture the image of the person but is not the person. However vivid the resolution of the image may be, it is still a photo at best.

I've since gotten Aventus and got rid of both my CDNIM iterations while MB Explorer awaits it's new owner. And no I don't have a vintage batch. It is the new F batch with the metal cap. And to my nose I smell a pleasant balance of all the notes with a sexy yet classy musky drydown that's huanted by the ghost of the top notes. I get about 8.5 - 9 hours on skin from a few sprays. I get nearly a week on clothes. I don't need or desire more than that. Like all my fragrances I wear them because I enjoy them. Even if I dont receive a single complement. It's a beautiful scent. It's modern with an ode to the past. It's timeless! And I'm fine with Aventus itself being the only one in my collection with this scent profile. Love it!

herbertjuergen

This Fragrance is amazing.
Mass pleasing and strong.
I could smell it in my shirt after I washed it.
Too bad there are many great clones of this fragrance.
it's not worth it anymore for the price.

Aventus is an interesting cologne. For me I only wear it because I like it. I never had a signature fragrance until I tried this about 1-2 years after it came out. I have bought this fragrance from 6 different time frames with about 2 years being the average between 2011-2024. I just bought the new one and haven’t tried it yet but the batch at the “new formulation” time period still has what I liked about it when I first started wearing it when they were using natural tinctures (or whatever they call it). The thing I like about this cologne is that it’s funky. It may sound odd but it smells like your private area. It’s the funk that stinks but it smells good with how they balance it with the other smells. When it’s about 8 hours on your skin (I’m talking about the new stuff still) it will smell like a urine/crotch smell. Like underwear that’s not terribly old. It sounds weird but the ambroxin (?) dry down or whatever they put in there sticks to you. The beauty of the early fragrance is it had the real deal ambergris and, for me, one squirt would last “forever”. This is my one complaint about the new stuff that no longer can use it. That being said, it still smells good. In the end this is just a cologne and not the end of the world. I get compliments from it when I wear it but when I smell it on someone else I don’t really care for it. If you like the way it smells it becomes something you enjoy how it smells on you and you probably like that someone you care about likes the way you smell. It’s an interesting fragrance in that sense for me.

MrNotSoNice

This is simply the greatest scent in the universe. I have batch F001397. Two or three sprays are good for 12 hours or more. My wife gifted it to me for our 25th wedding anniversary, so I think we’re good for another 25.

Vvsberg

Aventus is king 👑 I have F00793 fruity pebble opening smells amazing more smooth vanilla dry down.

My F001607 my latest more musk and longevity!

My F001520 same as 1607. Aventus is amazing if you’re looking for synthetic frag that last 24hrs this isn’t for you. Aventus is more natural fragrance won’t offend anyone just amazing 6-8hr 793 and 8+ on 1607-1520 it’s really the best most versatile fragrance ever you can wear it dressed up or down and in any weather or season.

Longevity is very over rated cheap clones last 24hrs because it’s straight synthetic it doesn’t smell natural Aventus smells so good you won’t get a headache! You won’t get nose burn like cheap clones. For the fools who say it smell generic they most not know Aventus DNA is copied still today the best smelling and selling scents is the Aventus dna Period Aventus is Rolex Aventus is Mercedes you can go buy a copy all day but you will never be Aventus👑 because of natural higher quality raw materials it will not last like cheap synthetics so don’t be fooled and after 8hrs you should be taking a shower in the first place. More naturals less longevity more synthetics more longevity aventus is the perfect blend👑

Aventus is the original blue scent when this came out nothing smell like it so I’ll advise buy the real thing don’t listen to people trust me it’s the best fragrance of all time because it’s the most versatile. If you buy Aventus and Green Irish tweed you don’t need anything else trust me! It’s totally worth the retail or blind buy! If you’re poor and broke get your life together or Aventus just isn’t made for you go buy a copy a synthetic chemical clone to spray on your skin and fake it till you make it or fool yourself because you’re delusional it’s nothing comes close to the real thing

flavioguellcasalvolone

I think this fragrance has the hype it deserves. It's really one of the most delicious fragrances in the world. Fresh, yet deep. It has a smokey note, a little fruity (but not that sweet) and, above all, it conveys pure cleanliness. First time I tried it, it reminded me of a smell from my childhood (even though it wasn't available by then). Amazing!

moet222

Musk Musk Musk..! This is a musky fragrance. I know what pineapple smells like and this is not pineapple fragrance. The main dominant note is MUSK

brandonf

I’m writing these initial reviews but can’t really vote for notes because I couldn’t tell you if this is bergamot or leather. BUT, I will say it’s like a fancy traditional cologne, with some extra fruitiness, but still an underlying old man cologne smell. Not my style but I enjoy it more than most traditional smelling cologne.

Los Angeles

I dallied this for 2 years straight, 2018-2020.

Workhorse scent, grab a bottle from those years.

hunk143

A must have fragrance.
10/10
It is undoubtedly the King of men’s fragrances.
Love it. You just can’t go wrong with this.
The sillage, longevity, uniqueness, everything is 10/10.

Giffayy

Fragrantica needs to redo the main accords. Leather shouldn't even be listed let alone being that high. Nonetheless, this was love at first sniff.

New batches after the 2019 reformulation last 2 hours, max. It’s not the same Aventus that could fill a room grabbing everyone’s attention to whomever was wearing it. Forget if it’s a F or previous batch, they all smell the same… a cheap weak copy of what aventus pre 2019 used to be.
Lets see if Kering will do something about it because Badrock destroyed this brand.

Sauvage77

A good fresh mass apealling scent. There is really nothing to hate about this apart from the price.

justcallmed

I wore this one for a few days after obtaining a sample of it via Scent Spit and tried to go into the wearing experience as open minded as possible. Here are my thoughts:
1. Yes, it is nice. Yes it is fresh and I’m sure it’s blended and crafted well.
2. Do any of those positives merit the absolute ludicrous price gouge that Creed is (most likely) practicing with this? In my opinion, no.

An easy to wear, fresh yet smoky aromatic men’s cologne that has more hype than true appeal to me. The allure surrounding it is greater than my need to run out and buy a bottle of it from whatever mystery batch it may belong to with whatever questionable product integrity it may have or lack. To me, it’s fine, bordering on generic thanks to the army of clones and dupes that now have tried to siphon its DNA and cash in on the desire to smell like this one here.

HawkarKamal

It's the best perfume I've ever smelled ،But it is not one of the best perfumes in terms of longevity and projection

POTFORTY2

If a $270 fragrance lasts you 8 months it’s $34 a month or $1.10 a day. That isn’t a lot for the most popular niche fragrance of all time.

The clones do not smell the same. They’re very synthetic. They get the job done and are great as a utility but as a fragrance enthusiast the real deal smells and feels different to wear. I’d rather have a 25ml decant of this than 100ml of CDNI LE - I have both and can say this with certainty.

I wear Green Irish Tweed for myself and Aventus for others. I much prefer GIT as I feel it fits me better (34 year old Scottish red head male) and the scent is my favorite of all time but I get no compliments wearing GIT. Aventus blows the door off the hinges with compliments. It’s so constant it’s somewhat ridiculous. I have 40 niche perfumes and Aventus is the only one that is like catnip to humans. Runner up would be Xerjoff Naxos but it’s a distant 2nd.

There really is batch variation. The batch I have from 2021 L4221Y01A is the best smell ever I do get the hype with that one but performance is horrible. It’s more a creamy vanilla pineapple than a citrus pepper sharp vibe. The others I’ve tried don’t smell as good but are beast mode even F batch projects for about 5-6 hours.

If I could only have two fragrances it would be GIT and Aventus.

SOB_Prod

I need to write this: stop lying to yourself and to people saying that the chemical mess of the clones comes any close quality wise to this beauty. I have most of the clones plus the OG Aventus, and to be honest, yeah, some clones have better performance, but quality and smoothness wise, nothing comes close to the Aventus period.

The Goat

Surus War Elephant

So my 2020 Creed Aventus i bought at Nieman Marcus had a fresh Pineapple opening a very fruity delicious heart and the aventus signature drydown. My new 2023 bottle, I got from Costco with the metal cap, has a Bergamot citrus opening no heart Notes and a fleeting drydown.

reptileez

Very nice but not the best performance, will let my F001319 bottle macerate and hopefully that will do the trick.

ashakhboz123

This fragrance gets bashed by people here, then you see what they have their current fragrance as and its some generic tiktok bullshit

Dumplingfragrance

First off this is way too pricey $270 at a discounter… a discounter! It smells alright and it’s unique. I personally hate the pineapple note. However the pineapple note is really only noticeable during the first hour of the scent it dies down. After a couple hours of smelling the scent it’s alright. If this fragrance was priced at let’s say $125 I might buy it. My final takes overpriced, overrated, extremely mediocre.

fj46

I had a few decants and I like it. Its versatile, clean, and not offensive. Longevity is meh. I was at Dillard's sampling some fragrances when the employee recommended Mont Blac Explorer. I was previously aware that it was an Aventus clone, but based on reviews didn't feel interested in purchasing or sampling. I was genuinely shocked how similar it compared. I plan to purchase that as an alternate from my typical daily fragrances. For the price point, Explorer is a worthy clone.

Irinka. K

I love this on me and I'm a woman. It's so fresh, sexy and beautiful. My friend told me I smell really good and she can smell me from far away. I'm going to buy the biggest bottle.

Chloerose666

Honestly for the price I think this is wildly over-hyped and overrated. It does smell nice but, like, only 'nice' and the sillage is virtually non-existent, longevity wise it struggled to get to 4 hours (which is diabolical for my normal performance results). Lasted even less time on my BF.

I would advise you to try one of the many dupes or other fragrances in this scent profile because I didn't find it unique at all.

With all that said it does smell nice, to my nose a pleasantly fresh, musky, mossy and tropical. Smells masculine, clean and dries down more woody (but a cool dry wood). Is it worth £170 for 50ml? no but I suppose a lot of other frags both niche and designer are overpriced too.

cclusi

Lovely fresh fruit opening that settles into sweeter tones later in the day. Amazing and easily recognisable. However, far too expensive. As of writing I have not tried any clones but if they're even seventy percent convincing I will be buying them for £50 over the original for £300. Especially when I hear Creed's business practices are not the most reliable.

Fragrance_ Warrior

This fragrance smells great, not the best not the worst. The price is very good and it lasts quite long. Overall an 8/10

bart4543

i have bashed creed a lot over the last 5 years but i must admit i have tried the new f batches and its absolute fire. The new metallic cap also makes the bottle feel way more premium

SmellMasterBoss

Amazing smell, but for the price you are better off getting something else.

jetanach

This is my favorite perfume of all time It is very masculine, smells very handsome.

The citrus fruity blend is very good with Brich and Smoke. There is some spices but not that strong, it is way more fresh fruity.

am2000

Found a top hanging in my wardrobe I’d probably just put on for a couple hours and sprayed this while wearing it, a month ago, didn’t decide to wash it😬 cause felt it was still clean since I had it on for a couple hour and hadn’t sweated or anything so fired it on today and could still smell this from it, longevity on skin is class, longevity on clothes is just crazy

Mangz

Not bad but reminds me of a lemonade soda. But still a good fragrance for an everyday scent not something you'd take wear on a special occasion if your trying to be memorable. Might not project as well as anticipated.

SavageKing

This smells like big ole freshly shaved balls smacking against your face repeatedly until you have no feeling in your face. I love it! I love balls smacking against my face!!!

jvnteran

I don't even love this fragance personally but the F batches performance is great. Give it a try!

TheDarkAura

Aventus has earned its status in the fragrance world. That initial spray is just something else entirely; finely layered, smooth citrus and pineapple bliss. For that small window of time, you know it's something special. However, it doesn't take long before Aventus begins to disappoint, relatively speaking. It quickly evaporates into a powdery, patchouli-laden, lightly-woody scent, sweetened by hints of pineapple. I would have preferred a less powdery 'aura' in contrast. While it is quite enjoyable, it projects poorly for how strong it is up close. Aventus also seems to last about 3-4 hours at best these days. I've smelled the oakmoss/ambroxan/musk before, but it rarely pops out anymore. (One time I sprayed it, and there was a disgusting amount of it) It easily gets brushed off with clothing as well. There are some colognes out there (bad ones, unfortunately) that will resist a soap scrubbing, while Aventus will disappear if it touches water. At its price, it deserves to be held to a high standard and criticized as such. Overall, it is a great scent that no copycat has been able to replicate accurately. It'll go down into my all-time favorites, but it is not without flaws.

Pros:
-The top notes are unmatched
-Mimicked, but never accurately
-There's a "thick" quality to it.
-Enjoyable through the whole ride

Cons:
-The ride is short
-Expensive
-Powderiness/Patchouli stands out too much
-Inconsistency with base notes
-Rubs off easily

King_cola

It's the best. There's really no comparison. I went through a few bottles and numerous decants of miscellaneous fragrances until I tried a sample of Aventus. I was awestruck but how good it smelled and I used the entire sample in a day, then I looked at prices for a full bottle. "Holy crap" I thought, "this stuff is expensive" and I decided to hold off. I spent the next shortwhile trying different frags but nothing compared to Aventus, so I bought a bottle, and I'm glad I did.

Aventus is clean, masculine, professional, sexy and confident. It smells like success and money in a bottle. It's perfect for every occasion and a massive compliment getter. My bottle is a small 1.7oz but I am searching for another 3.3oz to add so that I don't have to worry about running out. Creed struck a chord when they released this scent and after trying it, it's easy to understand why it's so widely known and widely copied. Aventus is the King.

aspirina

I don't know what formulation is my little decant but this is so yummy! I love this scent I consider it near unisex. Fresh, floral with that birch and pineapple combination. Love this scent, it is very sexy.

jpwhy81

Pineapple, leather and smokiness. I thought the notes were delicious and balanced. Hate the price.

Kuquii1974

Best in the world. Nothing else comes close!

Juggy300

I have been on a mission to get that same Aventus smell from 2016 when I bought my first bottle. Unfortunately every clone doesn't match that opening burst Aventus had.

Today at Costco I smelled it on someone and I couldn't resist but to follow him. I felt like a stalker. Eventually I asked what he was wearing and he looked puzzled and I asked if it was Creed and he said yea, but he didn't want to engage with me. Probably thought I was a creep.

Afterward I thought to myself I probably was a creep coming up and asking him about it, but something about Aventus has a spell on me and I really wish there was a way to get the original formulation.

FragranceWarriorLog

In the recesses of my memory lies a chapter consumed by Creed Aventus—a fragrance that morphed from indulgence to obsession, engulfing me in its intoxicating grasp. What started as a mere scent became an insatiable hunger, leading me to devour the bottle itself, heedless of the harm it caused. As I chewed on thr bottle, oblivious to my teeth shattering, my life crumbled around me, like my teeth. Just like my teeth, relationships shattered, dreams dissolved, all sacrificed at the altar of my addiction. Creed Aventus wasn't just a fragrance; it was the catalyst for my descent into madness, leaving behind only the bitter taste of regret, both metaphorically and literally.

Arsenal Till I Die

I’m gunna say it. This fragrance is finally dead and I’m all for it. Price, performance and batch variations can suck it.

Vvsberg

Just picked up F001607 yesterday! Man this thing is a beast it’s the latest batch. You will get nose blind but others around you will definitely smell it. I love Aventus because it doesn’t give me a headache or burn my nose I think citral the natural ingredients in it is great for this I rather go nose blind than a headache like most synthetic fragrances! Aventus is king period!

Pavlos St

As matter of fact it does smell expensive, however taking into consideration the price point which is absolutely ridiculous and absurd does not worth the whole hype and purchasing by wasting 200 euros and more, hence the numerous clones are in the market currently.

vincentlepes

I have tried this a few times over the years, and I kept the bottles around for comparison because I heard about 'batch variation' being an issue. I'm here to say this cologne seems to be going through much more than batch variation. Each bottle I have smells like a different fragrance, and then after a few hours they smell similar but it keeps getting weaker and less addictive each time I buy it. I have three bottles on the shelf and the first (empty) bottle smells way better than the newer, fresher, and fuller bottles.

My first bottle was intoxicating, and my wife agreed. It had a strong pineapple that tapered off but stuck around, and a smoky, earthy smell, with a sort of musk or something that made it smell addictive. After an hour it was smoother version of the same smell, and it still projected without blasting people, very mellow and pleasant. Later in the day when it had faded, there is some kind of animalistic smell revealing itself to have been there all along that was just addictive, like I literally wanted to keep smelling my wrist and my wife wanted to smell my neck. At this point you could only smell it close to the skin, but that is true for me with a lot of fragrances. I got a lot of compliments and questions wearing it and my wife just loved it.

The next two bottles are progressively weaker. The most recent one I can't even wear, my wife finds it offensively "powdery" and "old" smelling. I agree the opening is just floral and terrible. The pineapple is all but nonexistent, and that was one of my favorite notes. If I put it on and stay away from her until it's fully dried down, I can get away with it, but it still doesn't draw her in. It just hurts to waste it, even buying decants it is expensive. It still has a faint addictive smell (I don't have a word for it but I really want to know what ingredient it is) but it seems weak and distant now and you have to touch the skin with your nose to even smell it. Reviews suggest this might be ambergris, but I haven't smelled that before so I don't know, and I don't see it listed here as a note.

I'm currently on the lookout for something that has the same triad of pineapple, smoke, and the addictive organic smell I don't have a name for, but so far no luck. It seems I can only find fragrances that have the fruit and smoke part, but lack the depth. Some of them also seem to ruin it with other flavors like an excess of lemon. I smelled Montblanc Explorer the yesterday and I don't even get how that is a clone, it smells nothing like it to me.

Ryahya

As a new fragrance collector, because of all the hype I had to add this one to my collection.

This opens really fruity & bright, as like almost of all creed that I tried, I think it has become the signature of the brand to open up citrusy, bright & uplifting, but the smoky drydown is what always gets me every time, it still is unapparelled to almost most of its supposedly "ïnspired" fragrance. Also, it is true what they said too about the performance, but I wouldn't call it weak, more like unstable, sometimes its gone & just comes back because I can smell the whiff of the smoky notes.

It doesn;'t work on a humid enviroment, work brilliantly in a air conditioned room, also on colder temperature.

Brdnz

Just got a new batch and its pretty nice, smells very potent and top heavy at first with thick and dense pineapple and mellows out to a more typical musky woodiness, longevity could definitely be better as the top notes fade fast. projection is good for 90+ minutes

Drchrisnicol

This has now descended into the ultimate olfactory cliche. Overhyped, over priced for what it is.

vaiok

It’s worth every single dollar it costs

Basta Perfume

this would easily the best fragrance ever made if the projection was only crazy strong so as the longevity but its the total opposite. Similar performance as CK one/ CK be for me....

horse_stealer

I wanted to love this, went to store and... I basically smelled a lemon. I came back the same day to confirm, on full stomach, still the same. I can't understand this smell

Aventus Junkie

Aventus has been reformulated multiple times all that left in the current release is the DNA. I find old bottles of Aventus have a yellow liquid performs a lot better than the current clear liquid bottles

Stef_2310

Lets leave aside all the Creed controversy and talk about the fragrance itself and more specificaly its dna rather than each of the countless batches, clones and reformulations.

There is definetly something unique about it, something groundbreaking and deep but yet familiar in a way. To me, the first time, evoked deja vu kind of feelings, it's like I smelled it in the past but at a time that it was not yet produced. I have felt the same with some other fragrances but with Aventus it was more intense and clearly an illusion as it is obviously impossible to have smelled it before it was made.
I cannot put my finger on what exactly make it so unique and appealing but it is there, and it has a wow factor.
I think the perfumer hit a cord found in our collective subconsious with this scent. It is complex but yet primordial as in the quote from Carl Jung: "Whoever speaks in primordial images speaks a thousand voices". There lies the secret of great art.

Screwtheifra

Who is the current perfumer for creed these days? Like who made aventus absolu? Now that we know erwin and olivier don't do shit

Just picked up a F000972 this thing is a beast fill a room on opening beautifully natural pineapple and dial back on the smoke and I love it. I don’t want any fragrance to smell like smoke. This batch the smoke note is slightly dialed back. I payed retail and it’s worth the money for sure!

TomoSumeo

At this point, nearly everyone would've smelled some versions of Creed Aventus, most likely some dupes. Where I live, we now associate this scent with Mexicans. From construction workers to bar/clubgoers, they all wear this. It's a good and refreshing scent.
This scent profile has never been what women love though, if that's what you care about. This is a scent that is pleasing only to men's noses. No perfume is worth $400, they all cost pennies to make even the most high-end ones. If you're curious about the scent, just get Montblanc Explorer. You aren't missing out much.

Leland.smith19

This stuff sucks. I really don't get the hype. It sounds like older formulations smelled better. Never in my life will I ever pay more than $180 for a fragrance. Maybe, MAYBE $200, and that's only if it makes me smell like a sex god of masculinity. I got a tester for the same price as 3.4 oz of CDNIM. And honestly, it almost smells kinda bad. I'm not sure if I had a bad batch or what, (I hope not coming from a boutique niche perfumery charging almost half a grand for a cologne,) but I didn't like the ambroxan note. I wonder if they used to use actual ambergris instead... I had CDNIM before the real deal, and I'd say it smells about 95% the same as Aventus. But for $400? Why in God's sacred f**k would I pay that much when I can spend a tenth of that to get something almost exactly the same smelling that also projects better and lasts longer. This fragrance is actual highway robbery and I'm glad the hype died down after people realized that CDNIM is just as good if not better, IMO. Albeit ever so slightly more flat smelling, but unless you're a frag head you won't notice a difference between the two. Ordinary people probably can't the difference honestly. Unless you're stupid rich, don't waste your money. If you want this fragrance and aren't looking to spend $400 on a cologne, then buy that CDNIM. I get compliments all the time from wearing it. Aventus is a scam and wayyy overhyped. If you willingly buy this, your bank account is either 7 digits or you're a fool that needs to spend their money more wisely.

Benzzz

Really really nice! I think this is another alternative for Dior Sauvage, because I've grown sick of that smell. I like to wear this because this perfume isn't widely available in my country, so it's kinda unique smell. My dad also loved this perfume. This perfume is very classy and long-lasting. Projection is also marvelous. If you see other reviews that says this perfume is overhyped, this is THAT good.

marceldijkman

Still happy with my Aventus 16L01 but must admit the profile is getting a bit done in these times. Really laughable to see noobs in the comments call this a fresh scent like any other out there. Ofcourse it is because this one started all that. Anyway. My batch opens fresh bergamot, pineapple, apple. Turns into a beautiful long lasting birch still dropping hints of pinapple along the way. Yep, this batch is pretty perfect and I will only sell a sample, just to share the love a bit. After this one I quickly wanted to stack up some more in 2018. Wow, big mistake. Where the '16 lasts 10 hours, the '18 was a lemon cleaning product gone in 5 minutes.

koxayous

ive tried the 2023 formula in the airport and couldn't believe people actually like it. what?!

review for 2014 formula:
opens up like any other stereotypical masculine cologne, with a strong lemony aftershave note. the pineapple blast follows up immediately, creating a champagne-like sparkling feel.
in cold weather it went a bit sour but on warmer days its a clean juicy pineapple, very natural and calm, far from sweet synthetics. nothing fruity or childish about this pineapple, its very sophisticated.
its also weirdly musky/animalic, but in a good way, and the more time passes by the more animalic it gets, but it doesn't go "dirty" or sweaty, always staying on a fresh clean side.
lasting power: 24+hrs off skin still going strong (after 15-16hrs all the fruity aspects are gone). the drydown is very masculine.

note: a friend has a 2016batch. technical characteristics are the same but the pineapple here is much more prominent, its very fruity and juicy.

I personally love it BUT! if you don't plan to hunt for a vintage batch, please save your money

Arsenal Till I Die

Be in the right setting, the right place, the right time and any fragrance will get you compliments.Heaps of people buy it thinking they’ll have women chasing them down the street like it’s some gift from the gods because it used to be in every top 10 and number 1 for compliments.. I’d rather smell this any day but the sad truth is that it’s piss weak and all I smell now is CDNIM. This dna honestly isn’t anything amazing either but it’s impressive to see how fragrance freaks have turned this into an animal of its own. Has to be one of the weirdest communities out there. No middle aged man should be collecting and obsessing over fragrances in my opinion let alone batch codes.

GOD OF PERFUMES - Perfection

Literally the only scent you need. Goes well for a meeting at work, leisure day with friends or even a date. Lasts for a whole week honestly An extremely iconic perfume among perfumers and can display status if recognised, especially because any room you enter will smell like you. Can never get bored of it since it is very complex. After spraying, you honestly feel like a million bucks.

10/10 perfume, if you have the budget then buy it. No need to think twice.

meama

funny to try this thing today, it was an invasive scratchy smell who made me think of football lockers'room after a match, and now it's an innofensive musky fruitty that would be perfect on a girly teenager.

asad9ak

Renowned, a bestseller, adored far and wide,
With pineapple notes that in the heart reside.
Each batch unique, a slight twist in the tale,
Worn just right, its charm shall never fail.

From a house of prestige, a legend born,
A fragrance unique, in the air it's worn.
Once spurned by hype, now deeply revered,
Long-lasting strength, now fondly endeared.

What first seemed harsh, now my favorite treasure,
Its captivating essence brings endless pleasure.

Yungbrooklyn93

Masterpiece. The blend is perfection still relevant for a reason

delancy

Ah, Aventus. The "Miami real estate agent in an off the rack suit" of fragrances, the Versace Eros of the business world.

Perfect for those working in Sales, Real Estate, Network Marketing/MLM, low-level Finance, Pay Day Loan companies, or any of the Big Three/MBB firms. Drench yourself in this juice, pop on a Suit Supply or J Crew skinny fit suit, and you'll be an unstoppable walking meme.

Syrupy sweet, noxious smoked fruit bomb. Crass, with absolutely no sophistication or class. The embodiment of everything that is wrong with modern male fragrance trends. Don't wear this if you want to be taken seriously in the workplace. I work high level in corporate, and if someone in my team came into work smelling like this strip club cologne, they'd be rightfully ostracised and laughed out of the room.

The reviews below arguing and agonizing over batch codes as if they are comparing ancient lost archaeological artifacts from Tutankhamun's tomb are admittedly entertaining, though.

Full credit to the clone brands for making money from the hype.

Relevant: I don't have a hate boner for Creed fragrances. I own Viking and Bois du Portugal. I've tried and enjoyed Himalaya, and Green Irish Tweed is a stone cold classic. Aventus is an abomination compared to each of those.

BringBackAeroDesign

An extremely popular, well-liked, much-hyped, masculine, versatile fragrance. Perhaps the best known niche fragrance of all time. People seem to be up in arms over how much they love it.

And then there's me. And I just don't like it. I swear, it's not just me being contrarian. I got into the FragComm around the time everyone was hyping this to the moon and back. Everything was compared to Creed Aventus (and Creed fragrances in general). It was seen as the end all and be all of fragrances. Perhaps that set an unrealistic expectation. However, I do remember trying it out for the first time. And damn, I was not a fan. I remember it feeling like I was being punched in the face with a pineapple. Unexpectedly for the price, I found it overbearing and even somewhat synthetic.

Now, Aventus is victim to batch variations. However, I've tried other samples, I've tried clones and though some are somewhat more appealing, I've just never been a fan. Doesn't help that this seems to have been adopted as the signature scent by a subculture of annoying, pushy, overly confident and self-obsessed guys. You know, the kind that worship Elon Musk to a creepy degree, believe themselves to be 'businessmen' for having signed up for an MLM and keep trying to sell you on some cryptocurrency/NFTs, even though you've already said no. I guess you can't blame the fragrance for that, but it doesn't stop me getting reminded of them every time I smell it.

Subjectivity aside, I don't think it's a good value proposition. It's ridiculously expensive for what it is. I can no joke buy an (admittedly quite old and not in a retro sense) car for the price this goes for at many retailers. Over time, it's gotten reformulated to become considerably weaker, it's had its bottle design changed to give you less juice and the price, which was already very high to begin with, just kept creeping up. It's been subjected to inflation, shrinkflation, reformulation and every other negative kind of -ation you can think of.

So here's what I'm going to say. It IS overhyped, but that doesn't mean you won't like it. I don't, but most people do enjoy it. It wouldn't be what it is today if they didn't. However, today you can get clones of it for much, much cheaper. You could easily get practically the same scent profile for maybe an eighth of the price. Maybe even less. Sometimes even with better performance. Aventus is perhaps the most cloned fragrance of all times. Every brand seems to have an Aventus clone, some even have several. For me, that's just another black mark every time I try out a new release, just to have to sigh and realize I'm smelling yet -another- clone of a fragrance I don't enjoy. However, if you're an Aventus fan, this is an opportunity to both have your cake and eat it, too.

I know people will say that you could always find -some- difference between the original and the clones. I'll agree with that statement. But remember that this is Aventus. Each batch is almost like a flanker. You'll find wider variations in terms of scent between some of these batches than you ever will between them and the clones. That's just me giving it to you straight.

But if you like it and enjoy it - don't let it stop you. As I said, it's popular for a reason. Just make sure you're informed before you buy and buy because you love, not because of the hype.

vikingboy777

Just purchased the new bottle with the metal cap batch F00 direct from Creed.
All I can say is that this is definitely a beast mode fragrance for sillage and longevity. Easily pulling off a good 4 hours + of sillage and 14+ hours of longevity.
Great fragrance, not as pineapple or fruity as the early previous years and more of Bergamot, Ambroxan, Jasmine at the front with the Oakmoss and Cedar in the background.
A great powerful scent you can wear anywhere any season and at any time.
It's easy to go noseblind to this so remember to go easy on the trigger.
Looks like Creed may have got their shit together with the performance of the F batches.
Take the the hate posts with a pinch of salt, some people just like to jump on the hate wagon even though they probably have never even bought a bottle.
Try it for yourself that's the only way to truly know if this scent is for you or not 👍

Cioraniada

I had a 2016 batch 75 ml bottle and wore half and sold it 2 years ago. It was so strong and in the heat it smelled so musky and animalistic it almost smelled like Kouros. The juice was almost yellowish-greenish.
Nowadays it’s just watered down bs smells like a typical fresh scent.

Very good

CoB82

A must have reference fragrance in every serious mens fragrance collection.
A lot of copies out there, but there can only be one original. For me, this is still the go to-fragrance for pretty much any occasion when I want to be noticed, remembered or just stand out. And of course I know I am probably not alone wearing this fragrance, but most people wont care about that, they will just remember you as the most attractive smelling guy in the room.

macdan

It's no use praising a perfume that lasts a couple of hours. I remember was smelling some 8 years ago, and now - it's like day and night, two different perfumes. And after numerous reformulations, to pay such a high price for this kind of scent and performance - you could only not respect yourself.

vox populi

all the top notes hit, overall it is a good scent. if it was me formulating it i would have put pineapple in as a top note..in my opinion it is overpriced for the smell. however the scent is good, i have had the pleasure of smelling cheaper but better smelling colognes that i would prefer over creeds aventus. now if money is not a object then yes add it to your collection, if money is like a dried up apple tree, then there are cheaper and just as good or better smelling scents out there. would i buy it again ? no . the cost of the perfume weighs heavily against the overall scent.

Blazing Lazers

I've not tried every batch but it seems to be slowly progressing to lemon-lime cleaning bomb. Pineapple, musk, and woody smoke are decreasing. Had to change my note votes. Hope this isn't their plan, to just lull consumers into forgetting about earlier releases

STRONG, POWER

I will start saying I grab my 100ml bottle at 291 dlls in an offer, with metal cap and F000 Batch code, is simply amazing how well rounded it is, compared to how other brands work out, this one stays on clothes for days, im not going to emphasys in how its smells, but is a striking one for sure, powerful and classy, compared to his clones, this is the pinacle of it.

Thus this is a expensive one, you are for sure have your doubts about it, whereas to spend the money or buy a clone, but what you get in return is proportonial to it, I even compare my bottle to the one of a friend with plastic cap and before batch changed, and mine was overpowering and long lasting.

There maybe other kind of houses that do similar scents with this Dna, but this is the epitome of it, evwn when the story behind the house could be misleading and doubtful.

If you want to buy Creed Aventus, you don't really want Aventus, you want Narcotix Citrus by Lorenzo Pazzaglia. Imagine that scent has 3 layers - surface, body and base. Take Narcotix Citrus, remove body and base - you've just got Creed Aventus. This is not even my type of scent and I'm not going to buy either (got 5ml decant of Narcotix Citrus and tried Aventus on my hand at perfumery). I'm not that huge of a fan of Narcotix Citrus compared to how much I'm ashamed for Aventus. Aventus has 40% of intensity of Narcotix Citrus.

Standalone scent 7.5/10
Considering that Narcotix Citrus exists 4/10

cheemster

i love fruity fragrances but this one disappointed me. There is something about this fragrance that I find that makes me want to avoid it. For its price, I find it not worth it at all. Club de Nuit Intense Man for its cheaper price has a slightly better smell than this fragrance. 3/10

JJ2137

I agree, the clear writing batch is absolute 🔥

ThatDoesntMakeScents

Hello Everyone.

I made the decision to buy a brand new full price 2024 bottle from Neiman Marcus.
This is the metal cap F batch with “Creed” in clear writing.

This is my first time buying a full MSRP bottle, since usually I’d buy second hand off eBay. Or new from Costco.

Point blank, this is the best bottle of Aventus I’ve owned (out of 5). The strongest, longest lasting. The bottle is freshly produced and a top performer. Has me considering to always buy a fresh MSRP batch from now on.

I decanted from my 2024 F batch into a 10ml travel atomizer and it smells even better. Creed did not hold back.

I highly recommend any fan of Aventus to get their hands on the modern F batch with clear writing. It seems Creed stepped up the quality control. The prices are a bit higher but it’s worth it to me since now every bottle is top tier

JustMyVibe

Idk…this stuff lasts on me. Like 12hrs+. Sprayed some on me the night before and still smelled like it halfway through my shift the next morning.

somedude12345

what a shame

Aventus used to be great, a beautiful blend of citrus supporting by musk, amber, smoke, leather, and a touch of oak moss. now they have reformulated it to stop the batch variation. credit where its due, it is now consistent, consistently terrible. I have tried three of the F batches and they have all been horrible oak moss bombs. as someone who does not like a lot of oak moss, this went from one of my all time favorites to something that you could not pay me to wear. genuinely horrible in its current form. shame on creed. anyone who is still paying them $300 for a bottle of this chemical slop is a dupe who has been tricked by the reputation of the old aventus. spend your money elsewhere.

macdan

At the fragrance shop I've sprayed on one hand Aventus, and on the other hand Aventus Cologne. After couple of hours I could not smell Aventus - the smell was gone, and Aventus Cologne smelled like a cheep Gillette deodorant from supermarket for 3 euros. I have CDMI, and the initial smell is almost identical to Aventus, and it stays for the whole day. 300 EUR for such a crap? You gonna be joking!

RyanDaRaider

Ah Creed Aventus. Did a blind test with Aventus and several dupes and inspired by (sorry Nichane) and said, yeah this one is by far the best. The OG, Creed Aventus. Burst of freshness with pineapple and that pink pepper really comes through. BEAUTIFUL scent. On Scent alone I’m going 9.5/10

However, SADLY. Longevity isn't there. After about 2-3 hours it’s gone. Why Creed? Why? I have Niche colognes that last 10-12 hours and yet I get 2-3 here? Unless it’s for a date and you’re going to spray it on in the car I can’t recommend anyone buy this right now.

fubar

This fragrance is power in a bottle. I think that creed's aventus hits the male scent on the nose (literally), as it feels like a douchey scent in the best way possible. I believe this could be worn year-round (assuming that you've got deep pockets). I liked this at the mall, and then on skin, but a bottle of this would be a nightmare to purchase.
As someone who doesn't like dupes, I'm not really interested in anything "inspired by"/ "similar to", which is a shame, as I would like to own this one.

David_stojan00

Too common, and very overpriced. It smells "okay" and that it? I doesnt have that wow factor, which i expect for that pricepoint. Too boring. Im sticking to SMW, which i love more than this :)

fleetingglimpse

Nothing special anymore. Every Tom, dick and Harry is wearing it. There’s lots of clones out there that smell just as good too. However, it’s still a very nice smelling fragrance

POWWAAfragrance

I really like this scent. On my skin, I do not get as much of a fruity smell as I do flowery. It smells really nice but, in my opinion is way overpriced. I feel like it is your run-of-the-mill floral scent and could get a much cheaper alternative. Overall, pretty good scent but would recommend opting for something a bit more cheaper, like alt executive no. 26 or Club de Nuit.

Vvsberg

Don’t listen to people. Aventus is Aventus! It’s worth a bottle. F batch smells amazing and as you use it more it will age and become even better!

scenturian

Already almost 10 years I am not able to read any useful review here, spammed with bad-performance, batch-code sh.t, reformulation etc. There is nothing else.

Chrissez

They butchered this fragrance HARD, its been reformulated and had it's price increased so much that it might just be better to get a dupe or to avoid all-together, not worth buying

PapaTLooch

I sprayed this generously on my arm at Neiman three hours ago and can barely smell it now. 95% of the top and middle notes are gone and all I can really smell is a pepper and birch skin scent. Probably the worst longevity Creed I've ever laid my nose on.

caleb allure

nice but a very very masculine heavy fragrance
i was gifted the 50ml bottle of this and this is way too masculine for me but would suit any man 20+ (im late teens)
super fresh for warm weather but is versatile at the same time
pulls compliments frequently but shouldnt cost this much (£180)
some people like it some dont
i prefer the smell of montblanc explorer better and explorer is just better all around
overall 7/10
mad overatted (leave this stuff in 2023 pls) dont even bother with this stuff just get explorer instead if u rlly like this

brcamp13

It’s pretty much a perfect masculine all-arounder, and it’s probably worth the price if you get it from Costco or from fragrancenet with the 37% discount applied.

The only ‘concern’ is that it’s fairly mainstream now (based on media, Nordstrom review quantity, etc), and probably is the fragrance the non-fragrance-enthusiast men get if they really want to make a statement.

So, if you really want to minimize the chances you’ll encounter somebody in your social context that smells like you, you may want to seek out a different fragrance. Scent memory is a thing and I think it matters!

Performance is pretty decent for me, I think you can go nose blind quickly with this one and should ask friends/family if they can still smell you. I couldn’t smell it but my girlfriend informed me I left a nice scent trail 4 hours after application.

Additionally, you may find a lot of hate online about this one. This is true of pretty much anything successful, so I’d really recommend getting a sample and making your own opinion.

Forand

smells just like CDNIM but with authentic ingredients
Aventus smells real, something I can get close to and inhale
CDNIM is overbearing, synthetic and harsh
citrus musk and I did catch a faint whiff of fruity-ness
I'd re-spray every 3 hours
doesn't seem to be sexy or mass appealing
more like a lone wolf, confident and masculine scent

Jondboi

This fragrance was one of the first fragrances I've ever owned. It was a hand me down from my late father who passed away around 3 years ago. It got me into the fragrance rabbit hole and I've never looked back since. When I first smelled this thing, I was clearly quite intrigued by it, having never smelled anything like it before. The opening scent to me smells like leather and as the dry down takes place, It develops into more of a floral musky scent. The longevity on mine isn't that great and the sillage starts off pretty strong but fades pretty quickly. Regardless, even though it may be a simple perfume, it was one of the greats. I mean "was" not "is". Aventus is the perfect fragrance to wear for any occasion and is truly one that if someone attains their hands without paying the overpriced fee, should definitely consider wearing it.

simriser1

It was good 10 years ago, now I never want to have to smell it again.

Its inoffensive, fresh and too much of the formula smells synthetic, but that is part of the "fresh, modern" appeal: sickly white musks derived from petroleum distillates, ambroxan.
It ruins the experience of the other ingredients

The white plastic musk is pure "dollar store fabric softener" to me and it creeps further and further into the category of 2$ BODY SPRAY for me every year.

Most impressive part is that they can charge a 8000% markup on the cost of the raw materials and the glass bottle, bravo to the brand image, youtubers and salespeople

VALENTI JJ

i mean its okayyy, i had a bottle a while back and ended up selling it (used my friends a few times). it really is disappointing though, if i were to blow 500 on a restaurant i would except a rememberable dining experience. this is not that restaurant ig. it smells good, just its so pompously rich that its hard to wear. it feels like its judging you for being in its presence. i have gotten compliments on it but not anything worth 500 dollars. would not blind buy lmaooo

hihero

Purchased a reasonably priced 5ml sample to compare with the clone I own of L' Aventure. The only difference is Aventus doesn't have a blast of lemon bleach and is more subtle beginning to end. Once it dries down it smells identical. I'm certain the clone L' Adventure projects louder for longer even as time goes on with a bolder siage. It's actually a little ashy like a backyard ashtray full of Malbero red butts.

It's definitely better than the clones because it's subtitly and you can definitely detect the luxury when comparing it intimately. Reality is in quick encounters and the siage you're going to leave at the gym is almost identical to L'Aventure. What the hell are you even doing wearing this in the gym? Without the risk of sounding like a gatekeeper if you're justifying this purchase and love the DNA don't you wanna' have a bit more respect for the scent profile and use it in more elegant settings?

I honestly don't think it projects that well or lasts that long and comparisons made about this reminding people of the overbearing gym guy are pretty spot on. I feel as though this has been done, redone and cloned so many times now that it's become a Savauge of niche and every t shirt wearing gym bro or edgy teenage streamer is justifying it because of the price point.

If I don't compare this to anything else and look at it objectively as a stand alone the scent profile is definitely niche to my nose, no doubt about it. I don't outright dislike the scent.

However...

My partner doesn't like it when compared to bleu fragrances like BDC and as much as people may agree to disagree about should you factor in the price of your decision because you may or may not be the target market. I do think well over 90% of men will consider the price of this when they purchase it. If you're here reading reviews and not just outright buying it I think it proves my point and factoring that metric I definitely wouldn't recommend this in 2024. Sample it for yourself definitely, I think it's a must try but I definitely wouldn't buy this again even at 50% off to keep. I also don't think it's versatile enough and personally wouldn't wear it for intimate settings, formal, a restaurant, club, bar or in cooler weather.

- Average projection and longevity.
- Despite the hype not mass pleasing and the lemon note can be unpleasant for some.
- Not as versatile as some people think.
- Driven by hype first, quality second.

maxpowerboston

I don't think I've ever reviewed Aventus, which is funny since I bought my first bottle in early 2012. I won't bloviate on the scent: it's all been covered, and more, below. I figured I'd comment on how I've experienced the changes in the juice and how I've interpreted the clones (Aventus is the only scent I really own clones of now), both cheap and expensive.

So, currently I own an F-batch Aventus that I got for a very reasonable price. 10 years ago reasonable price, in fact. I've also owned a 2012 batch, a 2015 batch, and a 2017 50ml decant. How has the scent changed to my nose? Well, the 2012 was very heavy/dark with a lot of birch smoke. It had the fruity top but it was pretty dense and loud. The 2015 was minimal smoke and it was a lot more fruity/woody. Both lasted maybe 7-9 hours with decent projection but the '15 was more rounded and lighter. The 2017 was far less dense than even the 2015 and a lot weaker. It was my least favorite of the ones I owned and I actually gifted it.

So, what about my F-batch? It's pretty identical (to memory) to my 2015 one. I don't get the "it lasts 2 hours and gone!" thing with it. I sprayed it around 9pm last night and smelled it when I woke up at 6am. That's solid longevity and in-line with what I recall from my old Aventus.

The batch stuff is probably silly and all of the ones I've owned smelled like Aventus with minor differences. My newest F-batch has good longevity, decent projection and the top smells as fresh as it did nearly 10 years ago.

Clone-wise my CDNIM EDT from 2016 with the silver sprayer smells closer to my 2012 Aventus but with an acrid and fake smelling citrus top. The drydown gets closer but never quite shakes that overly synthetic smell (still smells nice when I walk back into a room, though, so the sillage is nice!).

I also own CDNIM Parfum, which is a bit more rounded than my 2016 EDT but projection stinks and the synthetic smell persists.

I own L'Aventure Intense which is a bit more rounded in the top than CDNIM EDT but I get miserable performance on it and it also has that weird, synthetic chemical base in it.

The best clone, by far, is Loewe Escencia EDP. I have a 2018 bottle and it's very high quality and, while a bit more green in the top, it lacks that ultra fake base the ME clones have. I get worse performance than with Aventus F-batch, though. Not by a lot but it's not noticeable the next morning if I spray one hand with Aventus and the other with the Loewe.

The inspired by scents that I own:
- Cedrat Boise (far creamier and denser than Aventus, but I like it)
- Cedrat Boise Intense (same thing but even denser. A love for me)
- Musc Imperial (a lighter, muskier Aventus type scent that I think is awesome in summer)
- Hacivat (very green and sharp with a heavy Iso-E and fake oakmoss base, not my favorite but my wife likes it and it's beastmode)

I've tried many others (Orion is very green and not my thing, Royal Vintage is/was smokier in my old decant and was very close to my 2012 Aventus but newer ones I smelled felt closer to the Loewe, Rasasi Zebra was fake smelling like CDNIM but worse, Morning Chess is very green and musky but too expensive, MB Explorer is cheap smelling, and I've had samples of Dua and Alexandria sent to me over the years and they just smell like CDNIM but less harsh and even more loaded with Ambroxan and IsoE).

One thing I've noticed is that none capture the Aventus opening correctly. Not one. You can 100% get the same feel from any of the scents I've listed and most (if not all) are good-to-great. Aventus was one of my first niche that got me into this hobby in 2011/2012 when hobbyists on Youtube, Basenotes, and Fragrantica went wild for it. I went wild for it, too, and it holds a nostalgic place for me.

Aventus Cologne is also great, IMO, but I never got it because I'd probably just wear Musc Imperial. I'll get Absolu Aventus in later this week (also at a massive discount) and I'm excited to try that.

Jhonaventador84

not worth the price anymore, there are clones much better than the F batches!!

MrMrBrian

My supervisor at work hates on me hard! He prob doesn’t know that I know…But I know!! lol! And after my occasional back talk & the day to day issues at work, We where outdoors in the field together, & He was dressed down nice & all, But whatever he had on stunk! I asked him what cologne u got on? And he replied ‘This here is next level” U prob don’t know nothin bout this!! And I says Oh yeah? “Try me”….And He puffed his chest out & said “CREED AVENTUS” I replied & said I know what it is..& told him if that’s next level, Your head wouldn’t just spin if you ever stepped in my room It’d probably pop right off!

DilansAadasas

New batch F000 - Not worth the money AT ALL. That being said, the scent is unreal and longevity and sillage is no where near as bad as people make it out to be in my experience. Only circumstance you should be buying this if the money doesn't mean anything to you, you really love the scent and your partner really loves it aswell.

ChristianBasset

Love this fragrance, it has wonderful notes. Only down side for me is it doesn’t last very long and is overpriced.

jlz076

good but too expensive and hacivat better anyways which u can get for <150$

devin7

A very respectable, well put together fragrance. For some reason it seems like something Tom Wambsgans might wear. Definitely exuding a sense of money and wanting people to know that you have money, but also trying to pretend that you don;t want then to know.
But it's not bad at all. Perhaps a bit overhyped, but very well put together and the middle part of the journey works well. The base note is a bit musky, so it doesn't work on my skin personally and I'll probably get rid of it. But I could definitely see it being a great daily for a classy, middle aged guy who works in an office environment and wants to portray a respectability. Someone that could possibly run a large company like Waystar Royco for awhile.

Creed Aventus was my first niche fragrance 1 of 3 I have in my collection apart from a few samples. I was blown away when I first sprayed this, the gorgeous bottle and the nice big atomiser in my hand I pumped a few sprays onto my neck, bang! There's the bergamot, black currant, and pineapple with the light woody sexy birch note I was super impressed smelling my first niche fragrance, a CREED fragrance! The jasmine comes in and adds a delicate floral nuance, the Ambroxan flowing around like a bubble! Aventus is so fresh and clean and sexy and sophisticated, best worn when you're in a nice shirt, as the fragrance settles down the musk and oakmoss rise up to the front however they do not overtake this fragrance. It's sexy, mass appealing but different from any designer fragrance it has that niche high quality sparkle to it. Would i say that CDNIM is similar to Aventus...Yes and no here's why: CDNIM shares a similar pineapple smell and also a similar freshness, Aventus smells higher quality but CDNIM is it's own fragrance, and longer lasting than Aventus. Aventus gets me around 8 hours of longevity and projects very nicely! I loved wearing this around the canaries it was truly amazing in the heat. I prefer Aventus to the new Absolu Aventus, the OG takes my pick! 🍍

Bizzy1995

Love this scent. Signature worthy. Opens up fresh with notes of citrus. The bergamot, black currant and apple stand out to me. As it dries down it takes on the scent of smoked pineapple. The Ambroxan is apparent as well towards the end. The hype is understandable

John C. Duboiz

Opens with a semi-sweet fruity citrus, like a tangerine you just peeled open. As it develops, it becomes more woody. In the dry down, it has nuances of musk and clean florals.

I do not get any pineapple or smoky nuances in this fragrance (please don't kill me).

I'm certain when this fragrance was initially released, it was probably unique and one of a kind. The sent profile has the vibes of a timeless and classic masterpiece. However, it's popularity has also become its curse as this fragrance has been copied and cloned to death.

If it's not a direct clone (CDNIM), then it's an inspired by (MB Explorer); and if it's neither a clone or inspired by, then it's a similar DNA ( Mancera Cedrat Boise). Point is, you have probably smelled the DNA more than once in the past, especially if you are a fragrance enthusiast.

So is the fragrance played out? Yes. Is it a great scent? Also yes! As for the price, honestly it is not that overpriced as far as niche fragrances go, and can be readily found at more reasonable prices at discounters for days.

The performance and projection is rather disappointing at the price point that this fragrance is going for. I barely get 6 hours on my skin and projection is only adequate in hotter weather.

Still, if you are a die-hard Aventus fan, then honestly no number of clones or inspired bys will stack up to the real thing.

But if you just like the DNA, then I would recommend one of the plethora of similar fragrances that are out there. Personally my favorite clone is Al Haramain L'Aventure Intense; But for best inspired by, Nishane Hacivat is a better fragrance than Aventus itself imo.

Hulk#1

Bought a 2023 Creed Discovery set. I wanted to smell the OG Aventus as I enjoy its clones. I have to say Aventus has the better opening than any clone I have sampled by a mile.
CDIM definitely lasts longer but is more synthetic, which is hardly surprising as it’s a fraction of the price. If my wife enjoyed the smell I would probably treat myself to the OG Aventus. As she is not a fan of the scent profile I couldn’t justify the price. My advice is if the Aventus DNA is your favourite scent profile save up and buy the OG, it’s worth it in those circumstances. A natural smelling bowl of fruit opening with a mild birch smoke dry down. Not sure why all the hate for this fragrance it’s a beauty.

TWN2RBO

I remember finding out about this fragrance on YouTube about 10 years ago, back when fragrance reviewers showed true passion for the art of perfumary and not to post affiliate links to get free bottles, I ordered a sample and I was a little let down for the amount of hype it had. Yes, it was good and appealing to masculine fragrance connisours out there, quality was great, performance was good, but now that everyone and their brother smells like a dupe of this or Dior Suavage, its lost all appeal to me. It is much to expensive considering how many offerings are out there that smell so close to it. I will hold on to my smoky 2015 bottle with 40 ml left for memories sake, but this fragrance is wayyyy over hyped and priced.

Ferg1

i remember buying a 2016 batch of this beauty. Smelling like a king, projecting, long lasting. I got a 2020 or 2021 batch now, not gonna talk about the performance because this thing doesn't last more than 2 or 3 hours at most. The scent is not the same trust me, this juice got changed. i get a much more generic citrus than in the old one, the pineapple is not that prominent and the oakmoss has been taken away imo. The smokiness is not there anymore and i think that that was the game changer touch of this fragrance. Did they really think that people wouldn't notice all these things ? It's still a good summer scent but knowing what the old one was, it hurts a little bit.

Edit : I am wearing it after a longer time and i can tell you this is my last bottle, will not repurchase.

Subwayeatfresh

Few reviews below me said it perfectly...

SOOOO many people whine about the price... Price Vs quality... Compare it to clones etc etc "on for 50 bucks you can get the same .. bla bla bla"

You ARE NOT Creeds target market. It literally does not get any easier than that ...

If you complain about the price, you ARE NOT Creeds customer... Why do people struggle with this so much ...

Do these same people go on a Ferrari review website and say WOAHHHH HANG ON... For the $500,000 this Ferrari costs... I can get a BMW for $60,000 which has the same leather seats, goes just as fast.... Etc etc and complain that you can get the same features and things on a cheaper product that delivers the same outcome? I.e. gets you from point A to point B...

People forget.. creed is a "luxury" segmented brand.. aimed at wealthier individuals where $500 for a bottle of perfume is the equivalent of someone else spending $15 dollars... It's not rocket science, and the quality correlation to price is IRRELEVANT... Because it's an image, a brand, a specific niche segment in the market for people with more $$$.

Economics people. You all need to calm down and before you soon about price, quality, clones etc.. just think ... Maybe I am just not their customer?

lidor

Great smell and good quality but the armaf is very very similar to it, and in the air there is no difference with better performance.

If you love the Aventus scent profile no clone will ever beat the quality or come close to it. Yes the new batches aren't beast mode but they perform on par with other summer freshy's such as, Sedley, Roja Elysium, Percival, Torino 21. I think the main thing that deters people from Aventus is the retail price. You can find this for almost half the RRP from discounters which makes this well worth it for the quality of the fragrance and the scent profile. Just ask yourself, would you rather save money and smell like a lower quality clone just so you get a few hours extra performance, or would you rather sacrifice those few hours of extra performance and smell as good as Aventus? It all comes down to personal preference and in my case I'd rather the real deal.

@alirules110
I don't agree, my batch F0001317 (metal cap, transparent creed logo) easily lasts on skin for 8h+. You probably went anosmic and I'm sure people around you could still smell it.

alirules110

The newest version of the fragrance is poor and doesn't last long at all!

I'm insane because I bought full bottle, even tho have CDNIM in my collection already... Everything was said about this perfume - its 10/10 for me. But absolutely not worth the price, DO NOT BUY. Opening is better than any clone, but after 20 minutes CDNIM is 95% similar. Stating otherwise is just copium.

Edit: I find myself repeatedly going back to the bottle and just sniff the cap... its divine. Neither clones or Hacivat has the same effect.

First spray you notice a citrusy freshness with a sort of effervescence to it likely from the pepper, as it dries down it becomes more musky and sort of smokey with some fruitiness. To me it gives off a cold masculine vibe, uninviting almost, definitely not a typical sweet alluring fragrance but also not a clean freshy. I think with woman it would be divisive as some may like the cold masculine vibe whereas others will just see it as douche. As for myself I like it for day wear but would never buy a bottle due to the price

Psalzarulo

The first spray is super fresh and citrusy, with a decent amount of what smells to me like a mix of light florals from the jasmine, minty herbs from the black currant, and spice from the pink pepper. It goes without saying that this is a heavily masculine scent.

The immediate impression is a citrus hand-soap - or maybe a candle - but something that evokes clean, citrusy, bright freshness. If it wasn't a Creed scent, I would probably rub this off after a few minutes and look for something more my style.

I'm certainly not a Creed expert or enthusiast. The only other Creed scent I've smelled is Silver Mountain Water. I found the subtle, clean notes to be much nicer than this, although I still didn't find it all that impressive.

I definitely see the strong similar to TdH. For the price difference, there's absolute no reason no to go with the Hermes if you're into this.

CDNIM has some of the similar soapy/fresh notes but with much less citrus, which I find nicer.

At least with Silver Mountain Water, I thought it was refined and smooth, and the scent itself is really nice. With Aventus, I'm not even sure what to make of the harsh citrus and spices. Considering the insane price, and considering its forgettable and just not that great-smelling, I have to give it a 6/10.

ashakhboz123

Was debating between this and hacivat, hacivat has a tea tree oil smell and very sour lemon, Creed is king

Got me a 100ml tester of batch F000549 from FragranceLord. The sprayer took me by surprise. It's pressurized. The opening is so good, fruitier and sweeter than my 17Q01 batch, but the drydown is the same (in my opinion) boring dull scent that only Creed knows how to make.

Emperor Extrait from Parfums Vintage is the much better fragrance in my experience, and even their Emperor Galerius and Emperor Aurelius Noir, which are my next purchases this year, have a more exciting opening and nuanced drydown than Aventus.

It's still Creed Aventus and smells nice, but, like many Aventus owners here have already said, there are better, stronger, more compliment-getting alternatives for a lower price.

I promise you aren't missing out by not having Aventus in your collection. It's not a standard, but the marker of a fragrance era. I got it just to try the newer F batches, and because at $179.99 with a coupon, the price was cheaper than another 100ml bottle of Emperor Extrait, ha-ha!

it's Zsa Zsa darling

Well darlings…lets start from the top…it IS a CREED fragrance…they ARE expensive, and EXCLUSIVE. If the cost to buy this fragrance seems exorbitant to you…YOU are NOT their target market. Take your money and go and buy your ‘smells like’/‘is just about the same as’/‘the twin of, but not quite’ and stfu. Not a big deal…but you get 120ml for the price…not 100ml…so there’s that. Next, for most people, this could be a signature fragrance, it is that good. I have many Creed fragrances and this and Royal Oud are hands down the compliment getters. I have had people chase me in the street, or feel free to ask me the name of this fragrance wherever I happen to be. I know when I wear this fragrance I am going to be noticed. I mean, that is one of the main reasons that we wear fragrance isn’t it? We want to be noticed in a good way. Now to the ingredients…I am nose dead to the pineapple…and thank goodness or I would never have bought my first bottle. I never get tired of this classic, however, now that I am beginning to detect it in my circle if friends (Now as Creed’s number one best seller), I am going to have to drop it. Although still among the best, Creed ingredients and formulations have become less natural and more chemical, along with the drop in the quality of their flasks (what was metal is now mostly plastic). The Aventus plastic wrap on the bottle and the bottle top being mostly plastic are a nod to the younger generation who no longer want to pay for ‘best quality’. Maybe the fact that it is a panty dropper will inspire some men to get their credit cards out, stop whining about the price and pay it off in instalments. Overall this is a sure 8.9 out of 10.

matchapapi

saying this is worth $300 is insane meat riding

Screwtheifra

You little bitches saying "the new batches don't perform" are dumb as hell. Yes the newer batches only last 9 hours instead of 12 hours boo fucken hoo. as far as the scent goes yes it smells a little different they added more vanilla and musk to the newer bottles and dialed back the citrus a bit and increased the sweetness but it's still aventus. Still worth 300$ there's no clone that can even come close to the quality of aventus

WeezyPipes

I finally tried Hacivat, I wanted/expected to prefer it, but I don't. As far as Aventus DNA goes the OG is still king to my nose.

BallSniffer

It's not the performance, you're probably noseblind

AxeDeoderantEnjoyer

Most overpriced cologne ever, really weak projection and smells like melons

never2young2die

Little harsh up front but dries down to a nice green scent. Very sophisticated
pleasant scent. Smells better on skin than paper.

mikebardenpiano

Wearing from a travel spray in the office today, I am noticing that it is just nice (not amazing) and very, very light. I'm not sure I even want my clones any more (Montblanc Explorer might as well be water on my skin) - I'm sort of over the basic scent profile these days.

LessisMore91

I recently picked up a new F batch bottle of Aventus and I'm here to tell you all about it. I had been wearing explorer for some time, and knew I was in love with the DNA. Even with all of the talk about reformulation, poor performance, and watered down rumors I rolled the dice and picked up a bottle from a reputable discounter for a pretty hefty price tag.

F batch to me opens with an uplifting blast of citrus, and pineapple. Not the type of overripe sweet pineapple- tart pineapple with some black currant to round off the edges. One of the best openings of any fragrance I have ever smelled. Shortly after you're greeted with smooth woods, and a light smokiness that gives dimension to what on paper seems like a pretty basic note list. Clean musk's and ambroxan are also identifiable in the base.

At first, I was giving into the negative claims about performance... did I just blow a bunch of money on an opening? Nose blind- I have never received more compliments. This is also my wife's favorite fragrance, which I guess is a blessing and a curse.

I get at least 7 hours of projection within arm's length with 3 sprays. It's not a beast, but I'd say a strong fragrance. I've had my bottle for about 5 months, and it seems like the performance is getting even better with every wear. Without ever smelling early batches of Aventus i can't say for sure if its weaker, but 'watered down' doesn't come to mind when wearing this fragrance. F batch gets my vote. Only downside is the price.

Finally got a decant of this to try and, while I won't say I was let down, I was expecting a bit more based on all the hype and price. Don't get me wrong, this is a beautiful fragrance that is complex and unique. The smoky pineapple opening is one of those scents that make you do a double-take. Upon first smell there is a kind of dustiness (perhaps the pepper or oakmoss) that initially throws you off a bit but you catch yourself immediately wanting more. After about 30 minutes the smokiness starts to mellow and the ambroxan starts to come through and blend nicely with the remaining notes. Admittedly, it is pretty cool to experience a fragrance made from such an old, long-established house but I can't imagine paying the asking price for a bottle of this, especially when Explorer exists. And no, Explorer is not an exact clone but I don't think most average consumers would be able to differentiate between the two if smelled a day or so apart. Comparing the two side by side you can start to pick out the differences but I'd say they are probably 95% similar to the average nose with Explorer being on the more "palatable" side just due to Aventus' initial dusty note.

All that being said, this is still a great scent journey. Is it worth the full asking price for a bottle? In my opinion, no. Is it worth getting a decant or travel spray just to experience and have on hand for special occasions? Absolutely.

The OG fragrance that got me hooked on niche fragrances back in 2012. The smell was amazing, smokey pineapple that projected so strongly. I would get compliments off this from strangers on a weekly basis. I could spray this on my suit jacket on a Friday evening and still smell it on the Monday morning. My favourite ever fragrance and it was around £180 for a 125ml bottle. My most recent bottle was from 2019. The smell is definitely less smokey and more fruity which is a shame. It still smells great but just not as good as the OG. The project is also a lot less. I'd say probably around 50% as to what it was. The worst part is the price. It's now around £300 for 100ml. So basically double the cost when you compare the amount of ml's you get compared to the original for a product half as good. This is a real shame but I still enjoy the fragrance and it's memories it has given me. Including on my wedding night and honeymoon.

ohmy222

I will pile on here. I think it smells pretty lovely and I imagine it had to be quite revolutionary at one time but I just don't see any justification for even paying half the price, forget full price. I have never smelled CDN because I don't care enough to even get a good clone. Just a good clean scent but not that unique at this point.

I am selling 70/75ml bottle (original tester box) from year 2015 (batch 15u01). EU shipping only insured with GLS. PM if interested.

Creed Aventus is a unique and delicious fragrance that you can taste just by smelling it. The notes consist of a lot of fruit and sweetness like apples and citruses, combined with the smell of fresh plants and leaves of a tree in the spring time, which makes it more of a spring fragrance.

However, the thing I really dislike is the smokey and cigarette like background. But that's all I really don't like about the scent. It stays at least 2 hours on my skin, and projection wise is pretty soft for it's price, but it definitely pulls compliments. But for it's price is insanely disappointing. It lasts around 6-8 hours on clothes and 2 hours on my skin, and projection for me is not great.

I wouldn't say it's overrated. It's unique. I don't seem to find many people wearing this fragrance and it makes you feel unique. People who say that fragrances are "overrated" and "overused need to realise the people wearing these types of fragrances are confident to wear them and that's impressive for those people to be brave to wear different kinds of fragrances that people may not like.

Scent: 9/10
Projection: 5/10
Longevity: 7/10
Price: 4/10
Overall: 6/10

AlexToma

This is a completely unique fragrance, those who say that Club de nuit intense is the same or even better, know that they cannot afford an authentic Aventus. I want to say that the performance of the F batches is very good (up to 12 hours) and the projection as well (at least on my skin) and the metal cap adds a special charm, otherwise I can say that it is a beautiful, original and persistent scent , and the fact that everyone says that this fragrance is too common is a myth, I, who am very connected to the world of perfumery, could smell this fragrance only on a few people in these years (being the authentic fragrance of course), in conclusion, I think that he deserves all his money and I am very satisfied with him.
P.S.
It is a huge compliment getter.

Scent_Freak

@sofiateddy clearly is a creed avnetus hater 😂. Tho I’m not the biggest fan of the newer avnetus batches, it’s far from gross LOL!

Greats scent dna, but lacks performance, and has an expensive price point
