This is the most beautiful scent. By far my favorite in my entire collection. I originally smelled this on a friend and it was completely intoxicating. The most perfect, elevated 'put together' womanly vanilla I have ever smelled. This left a scent trail behind her and I had to know what it was! Tracking down a sample was harder than I thought it would be but once I had one I couldn't stop smelling it. It's just lovely. I would recommend this as a wedding day scent and if you can afford it, an everyday bathe yourself in it scent. My favorite thing about this perfume is that I can wear it anywhere. It's perfect for work, date night, daytime, compliments, and any season. Everyone that has smelled it on me adores it as much as I do. I am completely and hopelessly in love with this fragrance. The first time I heard the price I vowed to move on and forget about it but I absolutely could not. My husband surprised me with a full bottle and it has become my signature scent. Owning it and seeing the beautiful detailed gold bottle on my dresser everyday I am no longer intimidated by the price. I will wear it as if I was dying tomorrow and continue to buy. I am so helplessly in love. Cons? It doesn't last as long as it should for the price so I find myself over spraying. I wanted to try other from Creed but NOTHING holds a candle to Sublime Vanille. It will have you ignoring everything else in your collection.

While looking for a wedding fragrance to capture the special day as the groom, I fell in love with this at Neiman Marcus. The vanilla was truly sublime. Although it evaporated from my skin within an hour, I bought a 10ml decant to spend some time with it.

I can confidently say this smells like an old lady and my fiance is absolutely repulsed by the scent. Glad I spent $30 instead of $300+ but its shame this is couldn't live up to its potential.

arsm11

At first there's a warmth to it that I like but unfortunately that's almost immediately drowned by assertive/sharp lemon that gives it an aquatic/sporty vibe that isn't me at all but makes me think I might like how it smells on men?

jessica_chinos

Oh my gosh, this is such a heavenly fragrance. I have tried many vanilla-citrus combos, and this along with Shalimar Souffle de Parfum are the best, but these have very different vibes. Shalimar Souffle has sexy, sophisticated woman vibes, and Sublime Vanille has an "I'm a very tender person, so soft and loving" vibes. To me, when I smell this it evokes a memory of a mother's unconditional love, so tender... Like a soft caress. I love this perfume. It's along the vibes of Très Chere by Mizensir in the sense of what it evoques in my emotional memory. This is not cloying, it's perfectly balanced. It does smell a little bit like a wedding cake frosting, but in a very sophisticated way. I wish this wasn't as expensive as it is. I cannot justify buying it, even if I love the scent. The price is astronomically ridiculous, no perfume should cost that much. But well, I'll use my 2 ml free sample on very special occasions.

elliebie

I just ADORE this fragrance. The most beautiful, soft, slightly lemony vanilla ever. If you have ever had lemonade Girl Scout cookies, this smells exactly like those do. It is a softer scent, but if you apply it to properly prepared skin in strategic places, it does last. If it weren’t a gift, I would not have paid full price, though.

ETA: if you have Princess by Kilian, the dry down of Sublime Vanille is basically the opening of Princess.

BETHJANINEUNA

So-so scent with disappointing performance. It’s light and powdery. Soft vanilla citrus. Not inventive or groundbreaking. Vulgarly overpriced for what it is

eva.daisy.88

I can’t believe this is a Creed perfume. Lasts maybe for 30-40 minutes, super intimate and doesn’t work on most of my skin. When I say doesn’t work, I mean for the most part, I can only smell an outdated powdery vanilla - musk cloud, which I find offensive. Actually for this price tag, that should be criminal.
Then, on my left wrist, where I also wear smartwatches (so there must be a ton of different bacteria - LOL), I can smell a very light and refreshing citrus vanilla. It’s beautiful but if I move my nose 2 cm away from my skin, I can’t smell anything. Pass.

Creed Sublime Vanille is truly a beautiful fragrance. It opens with a lively burst of fresh lemony vanilla that immediately draws you in. As it settles on the skin, a subtle aromatic quality emerges, preventing the vanilla from becoming overwhelmingly gourmand. The fragrance evolves, with the vanilla gaining dominance and a delicate powdery note emerging during the dry down. A light, and airy sweetness lends a subtle and natural vibe to the overall composition.

This fragrance exudes an effortless elegance, making it suitable for any occasion, be it casual or formal. The faint hint of spiciness adds a mature touch, elevating it beyond a mere lemon cookie scent. Versatility is a strong suit; I would confidently wear this fragrance year-round. Its light and airy nature makes it perfect for summer, while the aromatic vanilla creates a comforting aura when worn on a scarf during colder weather. Notably, Sublime Vanille has a unisex appeal, with a slight hint of powderiness in the dry down, adding a subtle feminine touch without alienating those seeking a unisex fragrance.

Sublime Vanille almost smells like it could be a Shalimar flanker. I find it very similar to Shalimar Cologne and a bit more distantly similar the the Shalimar Souffle flankers. For that reason I could never justify purchasing this fragrance. The price point is unreasonably astromomical. I have those Shalimar flankers and they have better performance without sacrificing a higher quality natural scent. I was able to purchase them them for less than a tenth the cost of a bottle of the Creed. Even purchasing them in the current 2020's price gouging era, they can be found for around $100-$150CAD while the Creed is almost $800CAD for the small bottle.

Regrettably, the performance of Sublime Vanille falls short of expectations, particularly considering its premium price point. While my experience with longevity is relatively better than some other reviewers, the fragrance lasts just over 6 hours on my skin. The projection, initially promising, softens significantly after the first two hours. Although not a powerhouse, it maintains a noticeable presence within close proximity. It would have been appreciated if the initial strength endured for a more extended period. However, beyond those initial hours, it becomes a subtle skin scent, detectable only when very close to the skin—a drawback that leaves room for improvement.

LuckyStar1

A very nice citrus vanilla fragrance. The vanilla is not sugary sweet. It kind of reminds me of Eau Duelle by Diptyque. I would say this is a unisex scent and although it is not loud it wafts around with a reminder that it’s still there. Classy.

VanillaaManiaa

If you want to feel like you’re in Heaven for 45 mins get this.
Honestly, sublime heavenly citrus vanilla but more fleeting than an English summer 😒

aromaarchitectusa

A delicious, very lemony vanilla that lasts less than 30 minutes.

Angelic3432

Thank God I got my sample half off bc this barely lasts 30 minutes. Basic vanilla scent that I use to help sweeten masculine leaning perfumes. I would not waste your money on this!

Jezeleah

No longevity, no silliage, nice citrusy vanilla, but the price tag? Creed is taking the piss!

Alexafit

If this lovely perfume was 50% stronger and lasted 90% longer, I'd be tempted to spend a wafting $600 price on this. But as it is, it's even less strong than a simple body spray from BBW

dcjimr

It's barely there, but a pleasant, slightly citrusy vanilla. Wouldn't mind having a bottle if it were significantly reduced in price.

Magni6

Just tried a sample of this ,
It’s a quite nice fragrance , very subtle and delicate. Reminds me of BLV Bulgari very much.
It actually smells identically. It brings back memories when my brother use to use BLv Bulgari and that was my favourite of his perfumes .
Longevity is very weak . After 2 hours it was barely noticeable on my wrist . I get why people are saying that it doesn’t last long. Can’t smell any lemon or bergamot though, vanilla is very dry and airy , creates a slight background and it is not dominant.that’s fine as I was looking for a very weak but at the same time fine perfume.
I think creed have done great with this creation.
Love the way that ingredients are put together very carefully

East River Pearl

Straight baby powder vanilla on me. The vanilla underneath the baby powder is quite nice but you have to work to catch it. Very senior smelling.

vibrant.girl

If this was priced reasonably, I'd buy it. With that said, there are so many lovely vanilla-lemon scents for us to choose from and I can't see the point in buying the most expensive version of a scent... I just don't get it.

I received a decant with an order, and it's a sweet lemon lovely - on clothes it's like sweet lemonade and on skin it dries down a very 'bright' vanilla. Not green, not baking, not gourmand - it's bright. You could wear this every day, every season, every event, and you'd always be appropriate. 10/10 fragrance, but 2/10 for pricing.

Hannyhanny

I was hoping this would be a lot more citrusy than it is, in fact I hardly detect any. Thats a shame since I find vanillas that aren't balanced by something tart or sharp really overwhelming. It's close to Eau Duelle by Diptyque but while I would say Eau Duelle leans masculine, this one leans feminine... Also it is definitely not a fleeting scent, I feel it on my skin even after a whole day and a shower. Overpriced of course but it smells really expensive!

daniellecatherine

It's beautiful. It's comforting. It's subtle and sophisticated. It's sweet but a dry sweet, not too sweet, not at all cloying. It doesn't project at all. It is a skin scent within thirty minutes. On clothing, the lemon sticks around more where on the skin it turns more vanilla with a bit of musk. It's beautiful. It costs way too much for me to justify a full bottle, but I wish I could have one.

Xela_529

Gosh, I honestly hate how much I love Sublime Vanille. Is the exorbitant price really justified? Ehh, I think it just might be. She’s completely exquisite. I mean EXQUISITE. She’s simple, no frills, but the composition of this fragrance is insanely divine. I really don’t think there’s another lemon/vanilla out there that has this level of quality & pure craft.

Smelling this causes some type of positive chemical reaction to occur in my brain. It’s really that good even though it’s such a simple scent. I know it’s a hard concept to grasp; The overall experience is something you need to see for yourself.

Unfortunately it lacks projection, but I don’t think I mind! Ah, I know, I know. Lol. I think it’s meant to sit closer to the skin, it’s meant to be discovered by people who move closer to you. It seems that was Mr. Creed’s intentions with Sublime Vanille.

Sublime Vanille is definitely my favorite from Creed so far. Hands down. 10/10!

The Wolf

A beautiful sweet vanilla. Vanilla and tonka beans, but not so much sweetness it bothers me. Musk? Maybe a touch. It's just a simple vanilla scent that's well done. If you want a no nonsense vanilla, then this is the ticket. But you're going to pay dearly for it because creed Royal Exclusives are expensive. I have a feeling that the woman wearing this is wealthy and not concerned with the price. She's not into fussy fragrances or daring niche, she just wants something super functional and pretty, and this is that. Can be worn in heat (I did it) if the sprays are controlled. Can be worn casually or formal. This would make a perfect gift providing the recipient likes vanilla of course.
Universally nice, well made, and super versatile. Strong like. Leans too fem for my skin but would be excellent on a woman.

Scent 7.5/10
Performance 7.1/10

BougieGirlShops

I absolutely LOVE this fragrance. It's exactly what I have ben looking for in terms of a soft creamy lemon scent. I have been on the hunt for a creamy lemon and everything else I have tried has been too astringent, too woody, too many notes or no longer available. This is my Goldie Lock's Just Right lemon fragrance.

Having said that, I do find it obnoxiously over-priced. I have a generous decant of this, and even though I am in love with it, I find it very hard to justify pulling the trigger at $750 CAD for a bottle.

IceMell

I really enjoy the vanilla in this. A touch of tonka and musk holds it together. Personally do not detect the lemon -- maybe that is in the mixed notes in the very opening, but I haven't picked that one out yet. Got a partial bottle for dirt cheap, so I thoroughly enjoy it, though it has almost no projection and performance is maybe 4 hours. If I paid retail for this... well, I always skin test, sample and/or decant, so I can't say "if". Buy what you love, but if money means anything to you, I'd give the Alexandria Frangrances clone a side by side test before pulling the trigger -- but the clone is stronger and I do get the lemon in that opening.

Judging the fragrance as a fragrance, though, it's good, not great. Many better vanilla fragrances out there for me -- but many of those aren't as good in high heat as this one is on my skin, so I do wear this when going out on a hot night when I'm going to be outside.

BigPat

I purchased this from the Creed boutique in Vegas and I immediately fell in love with it. I get very good performance out of it and it really shines when layered with Aventus. Yes, it costs $610 at retail. No, it doesn’t last as long as other fragrances at a cheaper price point. But it is extraordinarily well blended and is perfect for when you want to wear something that smells amazing while not projecting like crazy.

Seens

I have tried this a few times, and on my friends. Nobody is in love with it. It has a strong citrus opening and is very cologne like. Not very feminine at all. The bottle is gorgeous and the scent is good, but I think Xerjoff's Casamorati Lira is a much better deal and a touch more feminine.

s.moniz

This lasted an hour on my skin. So if you want to spend an exuberant amount of money on something that's lovely for, literally, an hour, go for it.
Would suggest looking at other citrus/vanillas for 1/5 of the price.

denizaryay

I thought this would be sweeter than Virgin Island Water due to the emphasis on vanilla, but nope, the vanilla here is drier. Virgin Island Water is more vibrant and playful whereas this is like the bigger sister that gives you stern looks when you do something childish for your age. Love both, but if you have one, I don't think the other one is worth the splurge; they are not that different.

Detman101

This is such a lovely citrus-vanilla.
However, it's missing a woody base....clearwood or amberwood would suit this perfectly.
I'm going to decant a bit and try mixing it with some woody aromachems to see if it gives it that base that is missing. Something has to make this thing last and/or project.

(17APR23)
yeah...so...combining this with other aromachems was the only way to get it to last longer than a teenage virgin on prom night. For the price paid...this fragrance is NOT worth the money!!

Much regerts....

Even with the remastering of this fragrance...."E.L.D.O. - Ghost In The Shell" is a much better, stronger, more lactonic and longer-lasting alternative...which I have taken into my house recently.

This fragrance will be backshelved and eventually put into the "Donation Bin" as I don't see myself wearing it outside often.....if ever again.

kayvee1102

I've always wanted to try something from the Creed brand but I'm not willing to mortgage my home for a fragrance.

haechans

this layered with dama bianca by xerjoff is gonna be my wedding perfume!!

iszzieanna

Opens like a zesty lemon with sugar and dries to a musky, powdery vanilla

Nataliemarie

This is so so so so Good! I wish it was stronger tho, it's very light.

violeteme

Very Guerlain-like vanilla. Citruses and vanilla compositions seem similar to Shalimar Souffle flankers. I would say, don't bother with Vanille Sublime, get the Guerlain Souffle - it is more intense, much cheaper and it is deeper smelling than Sublime Vanille.

savjlc

I was almost tempted to give this a second chance after reading these reviews but I had such a bad impression the first time around. It was such a strong lemon pledge cleaning detergent esque smell I immediately wanted it off. Maybe a few hours in it develops into this lemon cake scent? Too expensive for me to wait on the dry down to remotely enjoy it

Yankelover

I see the CEO of Creed suggesting this creation,
“ Let’s make a fragrance with absolutely no projection and let’s make the performance virtually non- existent , then lets charge them $600 for it. Meeting over

Youkay

This is sooooo good. This is a superb and perfect blend of lemony vanilla. Very subtle and comforting. it’s there but not quite there. I only wish it lasted longer and this thing is super pricey ! I guess I’ll have a decanter on me whenever I wear this and just reapply just so I get to truly enjoy the wear. I already own it so why the heck not enjoy it as well ?

La Nuit Noir

Vanilla & Lemon Cheesecake!

Pink orchid floral musk in the background is a great touch.

Cosy & creamy. Overlooked & reallly top-tier fragrance!

aspirina

Key lime pie. Yummy. Refined. Shalimar Milesime Vanilla Planifolia coul be the "intense" version of this scent.
Very nice and fluffy, but doesn't last more than 1 hour on my skin with minimal projection.
Overpriced. A sample is enough for me.

BostonScentGuy

This truly smells great--a perfect, universal, woody vanilla brightened by citrus that is impeccably balanced. It's a sort of "training wheels Shalimar" done well. It's lasting and beautiful without being overly complicated. I am so absolutely sure it's just some ambery and woody aromachemicals (iso e super? cedramber? ambroxan?), vanillin and ethyl vanillin, citruses, and white musks...but props to the perfumer for putting them together in such well-tuned proportions. Should be a fraction of the cost, of course, and I'll never buy it.

Susi.312

I currently have Oil Perfumery's version of Sublime Vanille. It's a nice vanilla with a twist of citrus. I've never smelled the original, so I can't speak to that one. This has over 10 hours of fragrance on my skin, so I just love that! This is good in all seasons, either day or night. It's so versatile and a good layering fragrance. I would never ever consider paying full price for the original, but with oil perfumery you kind of can't go wrong!

betsyglez8

I need this one in my collection ,
As a vanilla lover this one is so good

The citrus musk
Makes me feel like it’s a vanilla lemon fluffy cake

Zethre

Vanilla with a rather lemon pledge top note. I must say, I do find most Creed to be disappointing, and sadly this is no exception

obsidianknighthawk

Smells like a magic tree car air freshener

noel1stanley

If you see the notes, and the name that's supposed to be top notch, you'd might even be so bold as to do a blind buy.
Don't.
This is an eau de toilette performance which would more be aptly at home behind the counters that are locked up at Walgreens. Save your money. $400 is an absurd slap in the face.

WGG

Based on a small decant. This is like lemon meringue pie served alongside vanilla ice cream. A very light perfume, it lasted less than 30 mins on my skin. Just me I'm sure but theres a really weird something in the background which smells like bleach. Its really faint but detectable and puts me right off. And no I dont have covid nose. £360 for 75ml retail even if you're a billionaire this is a pass.

Vanillamasala

Shopping vanilla scents for my boyfriend (his fave) and accidentally sprayed this on my fingers… instant headache. It’s a common occurrence with vanilla perfumes for me, unfortunately. Anyway, instead of spraying it again I just kept sniffing instead of washing it off. Very strong at first like an older lady type of vanilla perfume and i was not a fan. I didn’t smell the lemon pledge some others noticed at the beginning, but It soon dried down to a lemon bar tea latte scent which is pleasant, but I got one at the gas station for $3 the other day so I don’t think this is really worth the price. Update: it dried down even further to “whatever perfume my grandmother used to wear” so that’s gonna have to be a no from me, dawg. So disappointed as I really expected more from Creed since I love a few of their other scents. This is not very inventive or crave-worthy. A dud for me.

anthonyrj

Meh 🙄

Kemmek

Light and airy scent. Doesnt last long. Smells to me like baby powder. Sweet but not sickly. Absolutely not worth the price tag. Bottle is lovely though.

Jcee

i know the name says sublime vanille but it doesnt smell like vanilla. trust me. this is not a sweet vanilla fragrance. smells like its for an older lady & im 30

LootCeption

So this is an odd one to me. I sprayed it on myself to work and I had two female coworkers walk into my work area and compliment the scent. Their words were, "It smells as if a female sprayed perfume and smells really nice." I responded that's me it's a unisex scent. They go oh, "That's not something I expected you to wear." I can normally pull off floral and powdery scents but apparently not this one. So l don't this is for me as it becomes way too feminine on my skin. Which is a shame since it's a very pleasant scent

katrom

Too much of that lemon oil scent, akin to Pledge furniture polish. Thankfully it calms down with time and gives way to more of a hint of lemon with the vanilla. Was not fond enough of the first half of the wear to justify buying more than a sample of this. I was hoping to like it more than I did and find that Atelier Vanille Insensee navigates citrus and vanilla much more gracefully.

Leif

My first thought after applying this was of some decadent Scandinavian pastry, filled with vanilla custard, topped with poppy seeds. I pick up hints of lemon and warm spices, like cardamom and perhaps a touch of cinnamon. It also gives me sweetened chai latte vibes. The fragrance lasts for a very long time on my skin (12+ hours), but it does not have any noteworthy projection or sillage. In summary, it's a pleasant "pure vanilla" fragrance in the gourmand direction; safe and gentle. I don't think it's unique or interesting enough to warrant the price. I prefer more unique and intense vanilla fragrances, like Tobacco Vanille by Tom Ford or Ani by Nishane. That said, Sublime Vanille is less intense, and thus more suitable for the office, etc.

ckorp8

Got myself a vintage bottle of SV. Nice soft vanilla with a touch of citrus. Which doesn’t last long enough for the bucks that drove the perfume, though. When I said vintage bottle, I meant it came with a ball pump diffuser. Alas, though looking nice and all, it doesn’t diffuse the perfume into a mist or anything much. It’s kinda lame and squirt the juice out in about a coin size splash and it’s kinda disappointing. Looking nice amongst the other bottles though.

ahmedeltobshy90

Living a dream not yours. Best best best
One of the most calm and relaxed smells i have ever experienced. Don't be afraid of the vanilla... it's very soft here and the pumping of the lemon is unforgettable i adore this beauty.

friedprincess

Cooled it smells like a silky vanilla, jasmine and (unfortunately) lemon mixture - I also get a hint of Chanel No 5 which isn't my usual choice but I'm debating buying this.. AAAH!! It has a pungent lemon smell (I generally dislike -well, hate- citrus notes) but the vanilla scent is absolutely DIVINE!! ...I'm falling for it...

cv

This is a beautiful light lemon vanilla scent. Unfortunately I can smell it for about 10 minutes!

Jkr111

I like this. I know it’s not going to be for everyone but I sometimes enjoy smelling like a delicious vanilla and lemon cake. It doesn’t last for ages but it’s not as fleeting on me as it seems to be for other reviewers. I still get wafts of it a few hours after spraying.

parispeach

Nice, uplifting and inoffensive citrus vanilla fragrance, however…….

The opening is very alcoholic, the lemon pledge/lemon sherbet/lemon lolly pop hits you straight in the face. This isn’t the best experience.

Then 10 minutes in the Vanilla starts to shine, and the scent becomes more enjoyable. But, it’s so light and airy, it doesn’t project and it doesn’t perform.

For the price it’s complete insanity.

Mercedes benz club black gives you a similar feel for 20 quid.

usas

I tried it a few times on skin. It gets a bit rubbery and even medicinal smelling (band aid?). Too bad, the name promised something better. For a good vanille based scent I would look elsewhere.
Performance is ok.

6/10

KuuDaPanda

Hate hate hate. There's a faint note that smells of urine on my skin. I've scrubbed hard at my arm and it won't go.

cocofluff

Light woody vanilla. Refreshing. -

AlaskanAngel

Perfectly unisex. Unfortunately, it opens with the destinctive scent of Lemon Pledge furniture polish residue. Dry down resembles a box of lemon cookies. If this was super cheap I might consider a full bottle purchase as it's kinda fun. For the crazy high price though, it just comes off as a bad joke.

Yankelover

The worst performing fragrance in the history of parfumerie. There are some fragrances out there with poor performance, but Creed Sublime Vanille, gets the Gold ribbon hands down. It goes on as a light skin scent and completely disappears in 10 minutes. The price is a complete joke, $575 for 50 ounces of water.
“Absolutely Dreadful fragrance”

Deutsch100

I just recently received my Creed Sublime Vanille. I currently have 5 other Creed fragrances, so I know what to expect in terms of quality and longevity. Sublime Vanille is not weak, but for the price...it is not long lasting. However, it is a great scent to wear when you do not know what scent to wear. You know what I mean; we are standing in front of our trays or cabinets of perfumes, looking at all the shiny, pretty bottles and trying not to grab the one bottle we always gravitate to (for me this is Angel edP). LOL Sublime Vanille is clean, soft, smells expensive (but light) and I think would be great on guys and girls.

Now, the problem I think most have with Sublime Vanille, especially those who Blind Bought like I did...is the name Sublime Vanille. Many just see the word Vanille and think; I love vanilla. Add to cart ;) Everyone needs to focus on the word SUBLIME. Creed did a play on words with this. The overall meaning of Sublime is: of such excellence, grandeur, or beauty as to inspire great admiration or awe. Creed is using this word and meaning to describe not only this fragrance, but I believe all their fragrances. But we should focus on the subLIME. Sublime Vanille is a citrus scent, full of lime and bergamot (hint of lemon) and a smidge of vanilla in the drydown. If those who bought this blindly knew they were buying a LIME scent and not a vanilla scent....there might be more love for this :)

ceeceelee

I cannot overstate how disappointed I am in this lemon water with a hint of vanilla that lasts all of an hour. My sis and I went halfsies, so about $200 and change. I wanted a sweet Shalimar "inspired scent". Well it's Shalimar all right. Just $260 dollars more for an outright subpar dupe. And they're ticked off at copycats?

Celestya

A nice vanilla perfume (with a touch of lemon/bergamote), more for woman, but clearly overpriced to my opinion. The sillage and the longevity are correct but not amazing. For vanilla lovers!
6/10 due to the cost of the perfume...

TBriggsy92

This one is a nice sweet lemony vanilla with a hint of floral. I like it but the performance is woefully bad. So disappointing, if it was just a bit stronger and lasted longer with a tiny bit more projection it might be worth getting some more of but as is common with creed, they assume that their name alone is enough to to charge super high prices for very watered down creations. Sad... I might try ‘Splendid Vanille’ by Alexandria. Maybe they’ve given their version more oomph.

katiecoollady

The drydown reminds me of Lea St Barth,

Kloppo

As someone who wasexpecting a plain tonka and vanilla scent, this is pretty disgusting. Very animalic and smells like a civet ran through a vanilla plantation and rolled around in mud.

LanaDP86

I tried this on one wrist last weekend and it smelled faintly of vanilla. Very light(aka weak) and pleasant. Didn't last past two hours. It's vanilla but it doesn't stand out from the crowd.

pedrotg

This smells like a citric cleaning agent with very poor performance. A hard pass for me.

MrBolton

Almost a year after my first trying of this, a Creed retailer marked these half off to liquidate their stock. Picked up a 2.5oz bottle; I choose it over Spice and Wood even, as that one smells too similar to less expensive Viking. My batch is from 2015.

Sublime Vanille could’ve been named Subdued Vanille. This is vanilla done in a very gentle light. So far, this is a special occasion scent for me. While I don’t think it’s something I’ll ever get complimented on, I wear it for me because I think it’s incredibly delicious smelling and feels very regal in some sense. Do keep in mind that I typically only get compliments on quite loud designer stuff, which I rarely wear. That’s just the region of the world I’m in.

Longevity is quite good, but I think it could have a bit more projection for its price, even at half off.

Glad I have it in my collection overall. I’d probably put it in my top 15 to 20.

Donkar

Another nice smelling scent from Creed, but worth nowhere the price they're asking. Barber shop vanilla drydown, can be found in many cheapies, Le male for instance.

I think they got the usage of sublime somewhat confused. Rather than the dictionary meaning of 'of very great excellence or beauty' I think they surely meant it as the verb used in chemistry 'the ice sublimed away, leaving the books dry and undamaged'. This certainly 'sublimes' away - fast, but it won't leave your pocket undamaged. Front end is 'barberyshop', green and not something that really would show off Vanilla well, at least for me. It dries to a pleasant Vanilla after that but, very light and you can almost feel it fading by the minute. At the price - just look elsewhere.

ampiko

Most Beautiful Vanilla experience. No essence, sweet cooking, gourmand vanilla found in most niche perfumes. This is real high quality fragrance, natural/quality Creed ingredients.
Perhaps one of the longest lasting quality vanilla fragrances with moderate projection.
Haagen Daz of vanilla ice creams. Must buy for Vanilla lovers

Finnegan

I recently purchased a new bottle of Irish Tweed and they added a sample of Sublime Vanille to the delivery.

I have to say WOW!

This smells so good. It is gourmand heaven.
The opening has a destinct milky vanilla tonkabean sweetness underlined with fresh citrus.
It smells like a lemon vanilla cheese cake or a lemon vanilla ice cream to me. Incredibly yummy.

Now that said, I would not want to wear this as a man. It smells way to feminine to me. This is a personal opinion of course, but for what it is worth I would love to smell this on a woman. I would definitley want to stay close to her if she was wearing this.

Samparkerat

The first of the Creed Royal Exclusives line of scents, Sublime Vanille is an elite take on the popular vanilla note present in fragrances great and small.

I realize that opinions differ with this scent, but from my point of view, Sublime Vanille is a simple, crisp, no-frills presentation of a pure vanilla "taste". The combination of vanilla proper and vanilla orchid ("South American bourbon vanilla") skillfully synergize with dipterix odorata seeds (tonka) into the amazingly pleasant, sweet note that many have come to know and love.

Gabriel.1440

I imagine royalty class wearing this in a castle in the victorian era in Europe. Yes, I know my imagination is quite unfathomable, but, this is really well blended. If I dare say, the most well blended fragrance in my humble collection. The word pleasant doesn't do it right. It is relaxing, calming, rich and, as said, royalty worthy.

A particularity about this is the vanilla and citrus combination, it reminds me of Versace Eros's dry down. Of course, this is at another planet when it comes to classiness and perfumery as an art, but side to side I am getting some hints.
This comparison is of course not to lower the rating of this masterpiece but to take me to my next point, pricing. Because, at this price tag of this precious juice, you can almost buy a shipment of The Versace and start your own business in fragrance selling at the grey market.
In the end, being the helpless and addicted fragrance lover that I am, I will buy this as an exclusive smell to feel a bit royal.

SugarAndSativa

I can't necessarily place where I've smelled this before, but I know I have. It's inoffensive, soft, and somewhat clean.

I'm glad I was able to procure a sample. If I had bought this blind, then I would spend the rest of my time trying to justify why this is good, and why it was worth the three hundred dollars (plus tax) to have it in my home.

If I'm buying something called "Sublime Vanille", I expect it to have a bit of a kick. Perhaps something a little richer and complicated than what I found in the vial. Plus, you would think that it would have better wear/sillage for the price, but it doesn't.

The opening as I mentioned above, was soft, but there was a bit of an astringent tinge to it. It was almost chemical, akin to a kitchen cleaner. A minute or two wearing this, and the citrus notes began to poke through followed shortly by the vanilla - or a faint imitation thereof. The "vanilla" began to take center stage after a while, but it remained soft. At this time it was nothing more than a skin scent, with no projection whatsoever.

Again, not very impressive.

If you're reading this, and you're considering buying a bottle, then I would suggest getting a sample first.

Bryan Acevedo

My favorite light vanilla scent. Good for layering, moderate-good performance. Definitely unisex and easy to wear; citruses makes this one unique.

louis.lee

I will contend that all the negative comments and criticism below me are the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I won't repeat what everyone else said, but in short;

1. Smells cheap/cleaning product scent.
2. Next to zero projection after 5 minutes.
3. Skin scent after 30 minutes.

And it isn't due to nose blind either, I asked someone else to smell. It has been confirmed to me, they can't smell it at all unless they hold their nose right up to my wrist.

There are so many designer vanilla scents that are 10x better for 10x less the price tag.

I have yet to come across anything decent from Creed's Les Royales Exclusives or Acqua Originale line, and yes, I've used Spice & Wood, and gave my half-full decant away. I say this as a Creed 'fan boy'.

I will now use the rest of this decant as a hand sanitiser.

Now go stock up on Aventus pre-2020 batches.

Arabian Knight

The price to performance ratio of this perfume is utterly ridiculous.

It's not a bad scent by any means; A delicate vanilla and almond tonka bean, enlivened with a spritz of citrus and diffused in a soft ball of cotton wool musk. It's soft and classy. The performance, however, is piddling. Barely the faintest whisper of projection that fades into nothing after less than an hour on my skin (and I sprayed 4 times).

If you have €300 to spend on a perfume, for goodness sake, buy a Roja or something that actually has some weight behind it. Otherwise, a cheaper and better alternative to "Sublime Vanille" is YSL's "Cinema". Same almondy, citrusy vanilla vibe, but with ample projection and longevity.

Thank me later. Next.

MNadz

Thank you decant for not blind buying a bottle!

Very underwhelming. There are many other fragrances that do vanilla/citrus better for ALOT less and with way more longevity and performance.

Creed has me scratching my head at times what they charge for what they offer.

This is a pass.

black_orchid

Sublime? This is boring citrusy vanilla that you have to pay dollars to have it. Go for Bath and Body Works body splash if you like this.

Yankelover

One of the weakest scents I have ever smelt . Waste of money unless you buy it just to smell your own wrist, no one else will smell it unless you dump the whole bottle over your head

Yankelover

A lot of people seem happy to pay upwards of $500 for the privilege of smelling it on their own wrist. The problem is it is so subtle no one else can smell it on you unless you hold your wrist up to their nose.. A poor projection skin scent.not worth $40 in my book. I have tried weak and subtle scents before, but this one wins the gold ribbon hands down.

MrBolton

This one is most unique in that it’s so strong, but comes across as subtle. It evokes a comforting feeling, and it’s a different take on vanilla. It’s not so much a gourmand, near-edible smell, but rather a smooth, velvety vanilla that isn’t overpowering or screeching “LOOK AT ME.”

To me, it’s something that someone may not compliment, but everyone will probably think to themselves that the wearer smells at the very least pleasant—but probably very good. It has a bit of a hotel lobby-ness to it, but imagine the nicest luxury hotel in the world.

Performance is quite good. I’ve mainly just worn it around the house from my samples a few times, but I can get about 6 hours at least. Right now, I’m on hour 5 and have a pretty strong projection. Definitely a lingering smell once smelled, but in the best way possible.

Is it full bottle worthy? Not really to me at full retail, but I’ve been very interested in grey market prices and almost pulled the trigger a few times. I’d like to smell Alexandria’s clone of it, but for now, I’m still waiting for the right opportunity to get this. I probably will one day!

9/10 lives up to the name “Sublime,” 9/10 longevity, 9.5/10 sillage (subtle, but powerful). Recommend at least sampling. Safe blind buy to those considering and like the reviews.

Bubbles1964

The opening of Sublime Vanilla is a dead ringer for Souffle de Parfum by Guerlain, for a fraction of the price. Sublime’s drydown is lighter on the musk than Souffle, but otherwise similar in the base too.

Sublime is a quiet perfume, and too subtle for me to justify even paying the gray market price if I could find it. There are so many others in this genre that project better and have an interesting composition, making Sublime a pass.

jreily88

@Yankelover,

Interesting. I just sprayed this on my arm, while trying it out at Neiman Marcus this afternoon. Two sprays and I can still smell it 6 hours later. Don't get me wrong it certainly isn't a powerhouse and it definitely isn't unique enough to warrant the ridiculous price that Creed wants for it but on my skin, it's fairly decent.

Marino419

I am joining in on some of the more recent reviews that state this fragrance is different than it was before the bottle redesign.

This has always been a very light and difficult fragrance to smell. When I would catch a whiff of the older juice, it would be magical. With the newer bottle design, I rarely even notice it after an hour and when I do it is just missing that blissful zing.

Even with the good stuff, you must really know what you are getting into. This is a super light fragrance. You will question whether or not it has disappeared completely. Just when you are about to write off Creed for over-charging for glorified water, you get a whiff of this magical juice!

Don't expect a powerhouse frag that gets noticed by everyone you walk by. Appreciate this for what it does and ignore what it doesn't do. With that mindset you will fall in love.

BigDickson

A soft fluffy citric vanilla, emphasis on soft though.

8/10

Yankelover

Basically a skin scent as has absolutely no projection whatsoever and lasts at most 30 minutes if you use 20 Sprays. Very faint vanilla lemon scent. No one else will be able to smell it unless you empty the whole bottle on yourself.

usas

I had my hopes up high for this one, but it turns out to be boring, nagging and very feminine. Suitable for an older (50+) woman.

5/10

OlfFatigue

I agree with the person a couple below me. This suffers from some serious batch variance. I used to buy this in the really large old school 8+ ounce bottles. I haven't been able to find a 2.5oz bottle that I like as much. The older stuff is just better.

It is still a good fragrance though.

Gail14

I definitely get the Shalimar vibe. I went into Neiman Marcus earlier today and when I mentioned that I thought it smelled a bit like Shalimar, the sales associate almost fainted with disgust! I had to laugh at her ridiculous reaction. Get over yourself, lady. It's perfume.

sweetsher

It's a little too sweet for me - almost PlayDo-y. Not for me.

willyng

Suffers from huge batch difference, I own multiple decants, one version has too much tonka beans that drown the delicate vanilla and smells unbalanced and play-doughish, another version has little tonka and is one of the best vanillas I've ever encountered. I've been thinking about a full bottle for a while now, but really worry which version I'm going to get, especially since recent samples I get are mostly tonka loaded ones compared to samples I get two or three years ago.

clairdelune

I'm glad I don't totally love it cuz this stuff is pricey. It's nice - a very soft and subtle scent, but for a lemon-vanilla combination I prefer Shalimar Legere. To me the Creed also has that slight play-dough/ plastic doll-head vibe - pronounced in the opening, which is a little off-putting. And the sillage is zero. I put it on an hour ago and it's barely perceptible. As it wore that plastic-y scent dissipated and it was just a very pale, pleasant lemon-vanilla - just not enough going on to inspire a purchase. The search for the ultimate vanilla continues...

Michelle12345678

Light vanilla-lemon scent. Whoever compared it to a wedding cake is accurate. Not overly sweet, which is nice.

Unfortunately, it has no sillage and doesn't last very long. Very soft, subtle scent. Not worth the price IMO.

stel15

Sublime!! Blended to perfection and in summer it shines. A bit weak and feminine for a guy to wear but who cares. This is beautiful. I cant stop sniffing my wrist. Very expensive yes but its almost worth the money. Almost. 9/10

loraxsix

I lucked out and bought a partial bottle for a ridiculously low price. I adore this light lemony vanilla perfume. It lasts on my skin, and just when I think it's gone the scent reappears. Unlike any other vanilla scent I've tried, sadly. Sparkles in the summertime, which is when I used up my bottle last year! The price is insane, which is why I'll never purchase a full bottle. One of my favorite scents, but I'll stick with samples or cross my fingers to luck out on another partial.

Edit add: I tried out Alexandria Fragrances Sublime clone scent called Splendid Vanille. It opens louder, and doesn't linger as long as Sublime... but does smell surprisingly close enough to please those like me who can't or won't pay the retail price for Sublime.

hsheep

It's a very soft, non-sweet vanilla extract mixed with a huge lemon drop candy. It's not sugary sweet, just a little sweet. I also get some smokiness in the mix. I'm reminded of the dry down in Shalimar Cologne (the new one) a little but much lighter. It's so extremely light wearing that I have to press my nose to my wrist to get a hint of it. Very airy, clean and fresh. Borders on lemon floor polish a little for me. The floor polish vibe disappears though once it has dried down. It becomes very comforting but much too light to warrant those Creed prices I think.

luxe_aura

Hmm maybe I got a bad sample. Smells 100% like play dough on my skin. I have a toddler. I am all tooooo familiar with Eau de play dough lol... not for me especially at this price point.

Skrewface

Reminds me of Musc Ravageur by Frédéric Malle.

CasuallyFragrant

A fresh vanilla. Definitely an interesting take on vanilla that is usually gourmandish, sweet, heavy or floral. I quite like this light lemon vanilla.

The scent is luxurious, smooth, and expertly blended, the quality that is known from Creed.

My friend owns this and says it works magically in warmer summer months.
I only have a sample and plan to save it for the summer months to test this scent in the heat, before purchasing a full bottle.

modudupup

For those who like Shalimar by Guerlain, this would be a great summertime option. It's lighter, less complex, more linear, lacks any animalistic or smoky notes, and the lemon notes are more prominent.

However, while Sublime Vanilla does have a beautiful vanilla bean scent, there are plenty of better or equally wonderful vanilla fragrances out there for a fraction of the price. Shalimar Eau de Cologne or Eau de Toilette are wonderful, lighter vanilla scents for instance.

SirCharles

Smelled this for the first time today. Not for me, but I can't imagine anything sexier on a woman.

Livgranger

I'm amazed that Creed can get away with their prices, let alone the hype. I've yet to find a modern Creed creation with the longevity or sillage to match their price. Imperatrice Eugenie being the exception, but it's not a modern fragrance. It could be my skin chemistry, but this has the worst sillage. Also I can barely detect the vanilla, I love vanilla but it's drowning in citrus. This should be called Sublime Lemon! I would not recommend a blind buy on this one. This is distinctly 'Meh' for me, there are many cheaper and better blended creations out there.

goodcupoftea

i am totally in love with this sensual, sexy, warm scent with top quality natural orchid Vanilla! It is not this nauseous artificial vanilla, but increadible natural one...
Longevity is awsome! Getting a lot of compliments bei wearing it...

Incalifornia

This is my second review of this perfume. When I tried it at a store I was amazed by it. It smelled great and it lasted for a long time. I bought it from the Creed website. The perfume that came smells great but it does not last at all and there is zero projection. I am dissapointed. I can not believe the difference.

Incalifornia

I like that this perfume is natural. The smell is sensational. I am also amazed by longevity. I sampled it at a store and could smell it the next day after several showers. I ended it up buying it. Can't wait to receive it in mail.

This frag is sheer deliciousness. Very summery and very elegant, gourmand but powdery, fresh but noble. Can be worn with a formal attire or relaxed summer slacks and crisp shirt as well. Perfect union of tonka and vanilla beans.

Scent: 9/10
Longevity: 7/10
Sillage: 7/10
Cost ratio: 6/10

Overall: 7.24/10

This vanilla is indeed sublime. Highly recommended for vanilla lovers.

NickZee

Would be a great vanilla if it sold at the same price as a Shalimar flanker. But is costs a fortune and doesn't get close to bettering Guerlain's superb effort with Spirituese Double Vanille, which swaps the citrus opening for a boozy opening and settles on a more mature take on vanilla. Head over to the Guerlain counter and buy the only vanilla fragrance you'll ever need.

redskyatnight

A nice sweet, light citrus-vanilla, except it doesn't last long. 2 hours at most. I'm glad I only have a decant, as it's really not worth the money for a FB. Try one of the "smell-alikes" instead. I like it, but the longevity is a deal-breaker.

Farouhaa

Aww this is lovely. A soft blend of vanilla and lemon. Very innocent and fresh smell. It reminds me a bit of the Ranita Kids perfume which is marketed as a fragrance for little ones. I simply cannot imagine anyone disliking this. It’s so nice. When I smell this, I get images in my mind of freshly washed luxury bed sheets and cute baby girl clothes. This is a great scent for hot weather – it will immediately freshen and energise you. If I could, I would like to pour the entire bottle over myself on a hot sunny day. Crazy as that sounds, I am just explaining how this lovely scent makes me feel. If you like it, treat yourself to a bottle. I also adore the packaging..such an elegant and beautiful bottle!

MoreScentsThanDollars

The more I wear it, the more I love it!
When I first got this beauty, I thought she was average and I couldn't smell her much at all to be honest, but now I'm half way through a 10ml decant, Its a smell I adore and it long lasting on me.
For me its a massive love and Id love very much to own a big bottle one day.
A BIG LOVE FOR ME!!!!

OTA Mom

Such a pretty citrus top, too bad the moment is so fleeting. Creed should be ashamed at this price point.

daveysprocket

Smells like vanilla extract and sugar (syrup). Performs amazingly well for a light fragrance; lasts all day for me. I find it too feminine for me to wear, but wouldn't mind smelling it on my wife. Now on to the real elephant in the room... $700 for a bottle of this stuff is absolute insanity. The fact that people seem willing to pay that tells me that rich people are no smarter than the rest of us, they just have more money.

Nataliemarie

I don't get Shalimar, or Obsession, & I have never smelled the other above. I get the sexiest Skin Scent Vanilla with a tiny hint of Lime, not Lemon in it. I think the Vanilla is so creamy it leads people to think that citrus is Lemon, but it is definately a sweet hint of Lime & it is AMAZING! I love this Perfume. Until I found this one Virgin Island Water was my favorite. They are also good mixed. Just when you think you can't smell it, someone will ask you what you are wearing. I want to sit in a bath of this & soak. I wish there was a matching lotion. I have never heard of one. If you wanted a really good lotion to layer, Pacifica Island Vanilla is awesome. So is the perfume, but this Creed is in a world of it's own to me. I want a gallon a year, I would never get tired of it.

Jillzilla

The name is fitting...it's absolutely a sublime vanilla! Sweet, almost sugary lemon is present from the start, along with vanilla, but it complements rather than overshadows. The vanilla isn't woody, or boozy, or dusty, or plasticky...just a perfect true soft vanilla note. At certain points early on, I kept thinking I was also smelling a little heliotrope, but it must be the tonka-vanilla-orchid combination. The musk is light and clean. I detected no lime. It stayed fairly linear on me, but delightful and comforting all the way. Totally a skin scent, I expected longevity to be poor as well, but no...longevity was good for me, and I can still smell it on my clothing 12 hours later. I also kept getting wafts of it every time I moved, and when my clothing shifted a little, so I could still enjoy it even though it didn't seem to leave a trail. I was gifted a large sample of this by a dear and very generous friend, but if I had a bottle, I would spray myself with reckless hedonistic abandon, regardless of the insane price. It's just THAT good for me.

scentdoctor

Reminds me of cough syrup or some other medicine or vitamins or something i can't exactly remember from when i was a kid. very light and a somewhat floral. not much projection or longevity on my skin and cant quite smell it unless i put my nose to it. drydown becomes better and creamy but still very faint on my skin.

ShinningLightOfThunder

That's an interesting blend of vanilla and citrus! I expected this perfume to be very sweet, but thanks to citrus notes the sweetness is handled well bringing the best of vanilla out.
Unfortunately, doesn't stay on my skin for long.

purecaramel

Thumbs up for the flavour.

This opens like the highest quality Vanilla Italian Gelato scented with superior Lemon.

Drys down gently, to a beautiful non fatty, cream musk and powder.

Later on whispers of unlit pipe tobacco.

Thumbs down for the dinars asked.

Reminds me... really need to get some of Mario's

best Ice together with some really nice pipe

tobacco for the Cave.

appleorchard

Really gorgeous, natural, vanilla. But it dries down to an old fashioned orange cream popsicle. Same citrus notes used in Bois De Cedrat. Not for me.

amirali0072000

a nice mixture vanilla and citrus fragrance!
it's a perfect and classically and clean scent..
magnificent,wonderful,sophisticated
expensive, but it smells very good.Fine citrus on top note..
vanilla and tonka beam and lemon are very Well balanced and very good transition.
i think it's the best fresh vanilla fragrance of creed house..
I suppose it is a day perfume.
It is a good perfume for fall and winter.
The longevity is well
The projection is good.

daisygirl

I just received my second small decant of this. At first I didn't understand what the fuss was - it was so light and airy, and didn't hang around for long at all.

But by the time I got to the end of my first decant, I had well and truly fallen in love. Sublime Vanille is a subtle, exquisite and quiet beauty. Her scent is creamy and pure; the vanilla is divine, and her body fills out with a squeeze of lemon and lime.

Unfortunately, it has very poor longevity on skin (say one hour). So having a small decant in your bag to re-apply works well. Spray on your skin for that rich creamy dry down, but also spray on your clothes - longevity seems to be better on material.

Lightning

It's a light natural smelling vanilla fragrance. There's a little citrus but it's mostly just vanilla. Smooth, not cloying or super-sweet at all. Very simplistic ; lazy design in my opinion. It's versatile, unisex, good for any season, but it has weak projection.

It's pleasant, but $700 a bottle? No chance in hell!

landshark321

Aptly named, Creed's Sublime Vanille is a subtle vanilla scent that is dominated by the eponymous note but has contributions from tonka, musk, and lemon.

I rarely think of vanilla fragrances as having warm-weather applicability, but this is certainly an exception, striking me immediately as being able to be worn year-round. It leans casual but is sophisticated enough to be worn out at night, as well, though I imagine many men would find it too feminine.

I liken it to Dame Perfumery's Black Flower Mexican Vanilla, though that is characterized by more of a mix with floral notes that Sublime Vanille does not incorporate.

Being on the more exclusive / expensive end of Creed, Sublime Vanille will only offend in its price, so if price were object, this would be a must-buy, but otherwise, I'd simply insist that fans of vanilla try this one out, as it should not disappoint.

seekritdude

OK so I officially am making a rule now that I will never EVER go out of my way to buy a creed fragrance ever again.

I know people hate batch variation stuff but BOTH the biggest variations I have smelled in their fragrances have somehow just by luck also been with their most expensive stuff. Like Jardin d'Amalfi and Sublime vanille.

So for one variation(and the one I was hoping I was getting)is one ive smelled at nemian marcus when ever ive been there, and one that ive also had a sample/decant of.

Pretty simple, citrus, with vanilla. Not a lot going on, but the dry down is almost snuggly and quite enjoyable. Its a very classic sorta vanilla smell that I think we think of when we are kids. Not this vanilla extract, or all this boozy vanilla buisness that you hear thrown around all the time once you get into fragrances. Simple and ya overpriced probably when it comes down to it, but it smells nice.

Now this second variation and what I sadly apparently bought is much different. At the top we have a very spicy basically citrus. Like theres a actual kick to the fragrance that does not exist in the other batchs. There is also waaaaay more tonka bean adding that depending on how you feel that day either a funk/anmalisticness to it, or again a more sweet delicious sorta aspect.

Whatever the case in this the vanilla is waaaay toned down, and the tonka bean is more apparent. The fragrance is still very light like the original which makes it unpleasant almost to me because the only thing tingling your nose is this spicy(almost woody)kick to it, and the tonka bean wiffs. Its not creamy, and theres no snuggle factor to it.

So batch one.. whatever its number was.. lots of citrus, vanilla...

Batch 2.. Lots of bergamot, citrus, tonka bean, musk then vanilla

Absolutely furious. Ive smelled some batch variations here and there of creed frags but most are generally pretty light to the point that I tell myself maybe its placebo effect. But for both Sublime vanille and Jardin d'amalfi even for me, whos nose is nothing special there is a noticable undeniable difference in some of the batchs. Cant believe it. I feel tricked out of my money honestly. What a joke.

For what its worth now that my intial frustrations have died down.. I would just like to say I do not HATE this other batch. It smells fine for what it is, but at the end of the day when you are paying that much money for something id hope I get what I thought I was getting if that makes sense.

jeffwithfrags

Ok so hyper-expensive Creed No2, after Original Cologne.

Since not even Semi-Enthusiasts are really gonna lay a hand on this scent at $300 a 50ml decant, expect review to be not as harsh.

I thought the 'lemon' in here was a little on the bergamot side right at first, a little too much - and somehow not too well blended into the mixture(!)

I picked out citrus (more like the generic 'citrus' than lemon ) from the vanilla. Not lime, it is clearly a bergamot.

Now, whether this is intended or not, the natural 'sourness' and acidity of begamot in scents over standard lemons normally in perfumes gives this Opening a pretty awkward theme.

Think a simpler Le Labo Bergamot 22 with a generous helpings of vanilla.

It's still too simple, not sweet enough at first, nor cosy, thick, luscious, not very 'inviting' and certainly not intoxicating or even alluring.

Yep, most of you probably guessed I'm making a direct reference to Guerlain's Vanillic scents.

This Creed for me doesn't make the cut, falling sort of a Gourmandy allure off the 1st spray, falling short of even say Chanel's Allure Blanche albeit becoming sweeter and richer and gaining over it in Quality in the drydown.

Now, correct me if wrong but this is really not acceptable at these Outrageous asking prices; there's absolutely nothing here to even have me remotely considering trading scents such as SDV, Roja's Enigma or even T Ford's TV.

So yea, pretty shocking; a Creed disappoints on the Quality front!

And yet again, Creed fail to push the boat a little. This is a $400, 2 note scent; it's not nearly good enough.

Why not have used different varieties of sweeter vanilla for the intro or a dash of quince or toffee to mellow out the starting sourness?

Notes like caramel or tagetes that other Niche houses use for almost $200 less are simply not present here.

Anyway, enough bashing. It does as mentioned just above quickly mellow and become sweeter but never quite shakes off that bergamot peel/rindy bitter splash.

Even if they're aim is to be minimal, there could be so much more as I feel both the vanilla and lemon are not as absolutely stunning as they should be for this price.

The sweet powdery tonka doesn't really appear till late, although it is nice here if barely noticeable under the not-nearly-as-good vanilla.

My rating: 6/10. (Knock off 2 points for the price Creed charge)
Quality: 7/10.

Just avoid yourself a big disservice and save for or stick to your SDV!

sum888er

this potion is divine. the price is divine also.
I can hardly think of a man wearing it. it's so sweet, calming, creamy and sexy that fits perfectly in women body. imagine of a classy lady (not girl) with excellent manners to sits besides you. the perfume stays close to the skin. when you talk to her something hits your nose. you approach her more and more to smell her. this scent is so so so classy and sexy. it drives me mad when i smell this on a lady. the only thing I want is to huge her and definitely go to bed with her. this is the best smell a lady's body can get. it's like a woman's aura drives out of the skin and hits your brain.
I think that Creed created this scent with such a small sillage because of this sexy effect. ladies what's out with this fragrance. men get crazy.

mvd99

I am VERY torn on this one, it is a beautiful scent, lemony and powdery vanilla. BUT, it is way too expensive considering its weak sillage and even poorer longevity. I am glad I bought it but will not repurchase.

seabrown

Only had a sample of this, very light smell, originally the sample was for my wife.... I soon took it off her as she found it too vanilla.. I really loved it.. but .. unsure if id pay the full price for it

Bloodlust

This smells...exactly like Creed doing a vanilla scent! Regal and delicious, unisex bliss, and exclusive as all hell.

Pros: Quite possibly the most cozy, heavenly vanilla/lemon scent you'll ever smell. Yellow spongecake, fluffy feather-light lemon, creamy tonka-bean, and a hug from a familiar friend; but a this-costs-almost-800$ hug! Slightly powdery in the dry-down - reminiscent of the sweet-powdery-gourmand drydown of Shalimar Parfum Initial, but much softer. I have officially made an association between Sublime Vanille and beach-vacations/boardwalks, though I can make no legitimate ties there except the "carefree" & uplifting atmosphere of both.

Cons: Less than adequate projection, slow but steady longevity, fizzles out pretty quickly, in about 3-4 hours, it's undetectable. Also you have to sell your kidneys for a bottle, there's that too. Still one of my favorite SCENTS of all time... too bad about the performance issues.

BiancaMC

Let me preface this review by saying, I am not a fan of very sweet Vanilla fragrances. I have bought (to my wallet's lament) many Guerlain fragrances blind that nearly made me nauseous. Everyone is different. It is just my preference. This however, is a whole other animal all together. I Love this Fragrance. No, on second thought, I ADORE this Fragrance. It is Vanilla perfection. It is light, airy, with slight Citrus and in NO WAY cloying or extremely sweet. I have found that when I wear this Fragrance I probably receive those compliments from women and men alike, second only to Creed ANGELIQUE Encens. It is not dry or woody but "fluffy" and somewhat ethereal. I never tire of it and although my collection is considerable, I reach for often. I would have never though I would have sprung for the whole Flacon, but I did. It's THAT Amazing.

Wow - this was a nice try !
As not beeing a gourmand vanilla lover, mixed with lemons tonka and musk- this really worked on me !
The fresh feel added and very subdued and soft aprouch on my body .
Vanilla tend to be very sweet gourmandish or mixed with resins and booze to a harsch or sweet mess I can't stand!
This is a gorgeous vanilla and I will someday get a full bottle!
As someone else also mentioned...like the subtleness of Jersey
but with vanilla instead of lavender.
Thanks Deefit for great decant !

Mellyhelly

Oh, this is lovely! A fragrant gentle vanilla and feve tonka with a nice accord of lemon. So nice! It's a very comfortable yet not edible vanilla-scent. I like this kind of vanilla that it's not the usual head hummering factory candy vanilla around.
This is very sweet yet not cloying. It doesn't last very long. It's more of a skin scent, but it's not lingering for hours.
I like a few of the Creed scents, but I don't buy them, because they are not lasting ones, way too pretentious, all the fake stories about nobility...
and perfumes are so watered down at that price!
It has something in common with Chanel Jersey, less the lavender.

Eos

Sublime Vanille is very nice, but somehow not what I was expecting since the vanilla is not upfront on my skin. Rather Sublime Vanille is creamy aldehydic fragrance with a touch of iso e super and citrus. The overall effect is soft, powdery and slightly citrusy. It reminds me a bit of Chanel Eau Premiere with a woody base and better projection.

Important note for gourmand enthusiasts: this is not foody at all IMO.

Amarah

Sublime Vanille is a shy and proper scent for a lady who is soft and feminine. It starts off a little harsh like air freshner but settles down and covers your skin in a lovely and subtle way. It is very clean in a way of fresh cotton & vanilla, very light and airy. Very smooth and luxurious feel to it, but that's about it. I would recommend this fragrance to someone who doesn't like loud and heavy scents, someone who works close contact with other people as it wears quite close to the skin, so they don't have to worry about offending anyone because they won't. I have a large decant of this but won't be purchasing a full bottle. It is nice to have a small amount but I can't see myself craving a lot of this scent.

laurie.ackels

I wanted to love this- to adore it- but I can't really smell it. There is a slight hazy sweetness that fades away to a smooth powdery scent with a bit of an acidic freshness. My husband says it smells strong and my adolescent son smells sweetness.

Then it's gone. sniff...

I'm trying a variety of vanilla niche perfumes and this was included.

dyst_opiates

Well. This scent is nice. It is quite straightforwardly exactly what the notes suggest, soft bright citrus and sweet vanilla. It just doesn't wow me. It just needs something else going on, IMO. For the luxury price I guess I want to smell something a little more unique. Plus it is quite ephemeral and not very lasting. Honestly it reminds me a lot of Ava-Luxe's Citrine, which is lovely and a bit more complex.

Ivanqa

Sublime Vanille is my signature fragrance.
It's a modern classic.
It wraps close to my body and stays discreetly close and yet the scent gets many compliments.
The fragrance is a sophisticated vanilla with fine citrus and orchid, very natural-smelling... heavenly... delicious.

hanson26

I'm glad I tried this in the summer, because if I tried this in the winter I'd write it off as just another vanilla and stick to my spicier, darker vanillas. But there's something special about this, and that is how refreshing and warm weather appropriate this vanilla perfume is. I'm a vanilla fiend, it's one of my favorite notes, actually it probably IS my favorite note. Both as a supporting note and the main player. I just love how sweet and creamy it is. That said, it's usually a lot better in colder weather, and most vanilla-citrus combos smell strange and cloying to me. Not so with this one! It's 80 degrees where I am right now, and this is perfect for the hot weather. It has that musky-citrus accord that is present in so many Creeds, and it works surprisingly well with vanilla. I really like this one and could see myself wearing it a lot now that it's warm, I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

appleberry37

not sure who will buy the large 250ml though... I don't like using same perfume- need to have at least 2,3-10 different perfumes. And I don't wear it all the time..

250ml will last more than ten years for me, in which the perfume will expire anyways.

appleberry37

dislike all other royal exclusive line since they smell so fakey.

spice and wood, I don't know since I'm not into spicy or woody scent

appleberry37

Like it! really warm, soft oriental as it claims. Ethereal beauty :D Will be buying 30 ml/ 1oz

Chocobaby

This is a very subtle vanilla/citrus scent. It does live up to its name "sublime" but alas, no staying power at all. I sprayed my wrist and cannot detect it anymore in 20 minutes. So disappointing. Since I was looking for a high quality vanilla, i ended up with Guerlain Double Vanille instead. It's spicier but a complex vanilla which stays.

DancerForLife

I am really enjoying this fragrance - a wonderful balance of sweet, a little sour, and a lot of powder. Unfortunately doesn't seem to be staying long - 20-30 minutes is the most I get out of it... For those who like the powdery dry down, Prada's Infusion d'Iris is a good alternative.

Martaynd

Incredible fragrance. Loved it immediately. Problem:: the Creed fragrances I am loving do not have longevity. The seem to fade immediately once applied. For the price point of these fragrances they need to last more than a couple of hours. I love the design of Creed fragrances: Love In White, White Flowers, Himalaya and White Mountain Water, but I'm annoyed that I must reapply these throughout the day to smell them myself. Too expensive for that. Fragrance gets 4 stars. It's perfect. The product gets 2 - needs to last longer.

Caist

Delicate-sweet/ modest sillage/ vanilla harmony

I usually do not like vanilla in fragrances at all, but this one has a nice lemon note in it that almost gives it a lemon chiffon feel. Out of the 5 Royals, this one has the longest wear.

The Royal Exclusives are like the diamonds of the Creed Fragrances. They come in a 1.oz or a gigunda-sized bottle 8.4 fl oz bottle-

*Here's where I want to know who was high when they decided on how the bottles should be made.*

Apparently woman have "delicate hands" and should not have to lift the bottle to spray it. In saying so, Vanillas Sublime, White Flowers, and Jardin d' Almalfi DO NOT HAVE ATOMIZERS. They are decant. and any Creed specialist is going to reccomend spending even more money on top of your 650$+ you just dropped on buying one- for an atomizer. (granted they are beautiful and very well made... c'mon Creed)

Neiman's and maybe boutiques(?) will carry the 1.oz versions of these if you actually want it without spending so much. But try these on before you buy at the counter, the longevity is very iffy with almost all of them especially if you drop fragrances off of your body fast.

Made from the best stuff.. but technically not exactly the best all-around.

eastcoastguy128

Feel good, uplifting fragrance. I rather enjoy the unobtrusiveness as it can be worn to work. The combination of vanilla and tonka beans creates a rich texture, with high notes of citrus.

Marli1973

After wearing love in white for such a long time and knowing Creed's quality I had no concerns in blind purchasing Sublime Vanille direct from Creed.
I had high expectation of something totally vanilla like, conforting and sweet.
I am afraid this isn't fot me. Not only increadible weak but the combination of vanilla and lemon/lime is not nice on my skin. it all turns sour
The good thing is I have learned a lesson: No matter how good are the reviews and reliable the perfume house is,I now always sample it specially if it is expensive.

Germany

I Have a sample of this one and really like it. BUT I can't believe how weak it is for the price??? It's barely there . I then transferred the juice into a spray tester to see if the application was the problem and still. ,,,nothing! I sprayed the entire tester at once all over me. Like ten sprayes. And it was great I loved it. But how fast would I be going through a 30 ml. Bottle??? OMG would be gone in a month. This reminds me of Duelle by Diotique. But Diptyque is much stronger. And some already say Diptyque isn't strong for them.
It has the same natural Vanille raw effect with just a little natural sweetness and a citrusy top note. Quite natural and realistic. High quality if it was only stronger.
Update , i bought it. I have this a lot weaker in memory. I put two sprayes on and I could smell it for hours. Odd. I am convinced I was so into heavy vanilla scents back then that I thought this was weak. Now I am not into vanilla so much anymore and wow , 2 sprays was all I needed.

heymoe9

Took this on a test drive at Neiman's. The extremely snooty saleswoman told me it was the best vanilla scent there was. After browsing for a bit all I smelled was harsh citrus on me.
Ms. Snooty informed me that was not possible, smelled me, the checked the ingredients.
Aha, there it was bergamot. 3 hours later and there is no scent left on me.

litr8r

So disappointing.
I went to the store prepared to love this fragrance and maybe even buy a small bottle.
Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed. The scent was faint and much sweeter than I thought it would be. The sugary smell lingered throughout the day, but faded from syrupy vanilla to primarily tonka bean and bergamot.
I concluded that I'd only like this scent if I used it to layer. But for $225 for one ounce, forget it.
Sadly, I'll pass on this one.

yunvme

Absolutely no staying power.
Even though I find the fragrance nice, I feel cheated by the price. I am going through this at a fast rate. If it was 20.00 a bottle not 500.00 I would love it, but for the price I give it a thumbs way down. No silage, no projection. I can't even say it stays close to the body which would be fine, but it cannot even be detected at all 2 hours later. Boo.

jhitt793

Initially there is a beautiful blending of bright citrus and heady vanilla, evoking a gourmand quality (imagine fresh vanilla bean ice cream next to a slice of lemon chess pie). The lemon soon dissipates, leaving behind a one note vanilla scent to me. This vanilla is a definite departure from other vanilla-based scents I have experienced in the past. Gone is the highly synthetic/artificial vanilla note seen in drug store bought perfumes and lotions. In its place an organic almost earthy vanilla (perhaps thanks to the inclusion of tonka bean which grounds the scent). Although listed as a unisex scent, I feel this is better suited for the ladies. hamednoohi

i have both this and dior bois d'argent ... if u like this try dior .. much much cheaper to own and quality to me is just as good as far as smell goes ... dior mite even be better depends on who u ask .. but def if u like this try dior get urself a sample see what u think

suzrwin

A very pretty, not-too-sweet vanilla, but completely linear and on me, it wears so close to the skin that I can't even get a whiff without deliberately taking a sniff. Certainly not worth >$600 a bottle.

My current vanilla fave is Guerlain's Angelique Noire, and while still expensive, it is a darn better value than Sublime Vanille.

Wise-222

THIS IS THE BEST LIGHT VANILLE FRAGRANCE I HAVE SEEN
IN MY LIFE,VERY FRESH AND SOFT WITH A TOUTCH OF CITRUS.HIGHLY RECOMENDED TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE
UNHEAVY VANILLE FRAGRANCES.

REGARDS

Chattermonkey

This scent is like a slice of heaven. Its a classy vanilla not overwhelmingly citrusy scent. There isn't much you can hate about it except the price mark.

patrick-fragrancelover

This is scent truly is sublime. It has an understated grandeur with its simplicity. One of my favorite Vanilla's, however yes, expensive.

teilani

Bought this as one of a variety of Creed samples to avoid breaking my bank account with blind purchases by the full size bottle. I did not have high hopes as I am not best fond of vanilla because I've been exposed to too many ugly artificial iterations.

This is a gorgeous scent. It will never be a signature of mine, but I will likely buy another sampler of it. On me, not a lot of the citrus comes through, but the vanilla and musk is perfect when I want something comforting and soothing. I like that this keeps close to my skin and if the longevity of the scent is on the ephemeral side, well, that is okay. This is truly lovely and I will savour it while it lasts on me.

Christy2198

OMG!I just got my sample of Sublime Vanille by Creed. I was looking at samples of Creed Love in White and Black, but since I am a sucker for a smooth vanilla, i thought I would try this. OMG! from the first sniff after I sprayed it on my wrist I am in love.

DresdenDoll

This is a lovely vanilla scent, really beautiful. A fresh pure vanilla that slowly gets powdery as it dries down. Honestly, it is not what you'd call unique or special, it doesn't have 'pop'. This one is a case of less is more. It's minimalist and very high quality, an elegant vanilla that really isn't gourmand. Do I love it? Yes, as will all vanilla lovers I would think. My boyfriend really liked it too. And the bottle is actually really pretty. Very nice sillage and staying power, as I would expect. So, to summarise, this is the vanilla to beat all vanillas, but 'all the rest' are still great enough that I'm not dying to have Sublime Vanille in my collection. When I'm more flushed, I'll probably just buy this for my vanilla scent and leave off with the others. But until then...I'll live without it.

leeyah87

Sublime Vanille always puts a smile on my face each time I wear it. It opens with creamy vanilla and a burst of lemon. The lemon is not screechy or astringent; rather, it is sweet without being sugary. As the scent develops, the lemon softens and the vanilla gets creamier, but somehow the vanilla remains uplifting and never veers into candy territory. When I wear Sublime Vanille to work, my co-worker always inhales deeply and says, "you smell so heavenly". It is true that this scent has a simple composition, but there is something about this simplicity that I find immensely wearable...and addicting! I find myself craving it everyday and not wanting to wear anything else. This scent is definitely full bottle worthy for me, but unfortunately, I cannot afford the $575 price tag. It is very reasonably priced if you break it down per ml or per ounce, but I just cannot afford to buy that much juice at one time. I emailed Creed asking that they make this scent available in a smaller, more practical sized bottle, so I hope they consider it.

Sillage and lasting power are actually very good on me. However, I admit that the very first time I ever sampled it, I could not smell it. I think my nose was burnt out from over-sampling :op I have a decant and use two sprays and I'm good for 6-8 hours, depending on how humid it is.

I love this scent for its modesty - it is such a pleasure to wear :o)

UPDATE: The price is now $640 for the Royal Exclusives line.

sotiriosc

Amazing scent. Well balanced and very good transition. Warm vanilla scent. Attracts women.

Nichehead

This is one of the most beautiful vanilla base fragrance i have ever smelled. Perfect for a couple to buy together since it only comes in a 8.4 oz flacon. I wish i could afford it right now, maybe down the road i will be able to purchase this fine fragrance.

gregmech26

Creed Sublime Vanille smells like a vanilla wafer with a hint of lemon citrus and a touch of white flower.

It has a lovely sillage that leaves a trail wherever you go. This is my most-complimented, natural-smelling, and high-class fragrance that I have ever owned. It's a very light and airy scent, and not heavy or overwhelming. I prefer light and transparent scents!

Although not scientifically proven, I believe Creed Sublime Vanille is better than Prozac as a mood enhancer. Many people will claim certain fragrances to be unisex when those fragrances really sway to the feminine side; however, Sublime Vanille is truly unisex and easily worn by a man. I just wish it came with its own atomizer rather than being sold as a splash.

I find this to be much better, and less synthetic, than Givenchy Pi. As you know, fragrance (like art) is a highly subjective issue. In my opinion, Creed Sublime Vanille is the BEST vanilla fragrance on the market in terms of quality, uniqueness, and natural smell. It has just the right sweetness mixed with raw vanilla, without smelling artifical or like a cloying candy bar.

This is easily worn by a successful professional in a suit and tie, or by a casual male in Dockers and a golf shirt. That's why it's my new signature scent, and I'm super picky. The only other scent I wear is Creed Virgin Island Water.

I'd rather have just one or two fragrances that I love, than a wardrobe full of mediocre fragrances that I only wear twice a year.

A wise investment if you can find it, and afford a $600 bottle.

cristina.casillo

Purtroppo.

bloosunshine

If heaven were a bottle, this would hold the essence of angels! The Tahitian and bourbon vanilla mix so well, not overpowering, light and airy.I get little whiffs of it during the day, and it makes me smile.Alas, the price reaches the heavens as well, but then, this is the vanilla scent, all other vanilla scents aspire to be.

ralucucky

Waaaay too expensive, but it smells heavenly.

Starlight_Angel

Creed Sublime Vanille is a very rich comforting scent that borders on gourmand.

It opens with a silky caramelized bourbon vanilla note that is soft and smooth, and there is a citrus note that stands behind the vanilla in the opening which prevents it from being an overly extreme, uncut vanilla.

As it dries down, a whisper of orchid starts to make itself heard, and it ends with a lovely sweet and musky vanilla dry down.

The smoothness of the blend of the vanilla note with the other notes is a little reminiscent of Serge Lutens' Un Bois Vanille... they both have that same caramelized vanillic sweetness on my skin, but SV has a tangy tartness that is lacking in the Lutens.

I really love this rich luxurious vanilla fragrance, although I really don't love the price, especially as I find it doesn't last all that long and has quite poor sillage. But the bottle is stunning, and an aesthetic asset to any dresser.

Overall, it's a great scent in terms of its aroma, but it falls down in terms of value for what you get (very little sillage and poor lasting power at a high price).

If Creed could improve this scent's lasting power and if it was a little stronger with better sillage, then I would repurchase without a doubt, because it is a beautiful fragrance.

Celsius

Soft, sublime vanilla scent. Wraps close to your body.

karlovonamesti

A radiant, albeit boring take on vanilla. The boozy thickness of the central accord is flanked by white floral notes and a hint of citrus and spice. It's nice enough and totally unisex, but not something I would wear. Surprisingly heavy for a Creed.

celina

How do you take your … vanilla? Strong and heady? Gourmand? With spices? Incenses? With Chocolate? Flowers? Smoky?

It is just a question of taste. But, if you like it light with a touch of lemon and orange and a musky sensuous orchid in the dry down, this should be your choice. It has some similarities with Shalimar Legere. One plays with the jasmine note, the other one with the orchid notes.

It will not make the list for the best vanillas, classics, masterpieces, etc. but this is a refined fragrance made with quality ingredients. Without any doubts.
I love the Vanilla Bourbon choice here. It adds richness without being heavy.

It has a soft sillage that will satisfy just your pleasure and bother nobody else around you. Nothing harsh, no cheap synthetics. Not too sweet. Not too floral. Not too dark. After 4 hours it is still here.

If it wasn’t so expensive I would recommend it to everybody. ☺

floof

Nothing special, almost couldnt smell it at all. The price is unreasonable, too, 0 lasting power. Tihota is worlds better also Vaniglia del Madagascar. I would have spent the money for a rich, beautiful, long lasting vanilla but this isn't it.

Mokokos

This is a magnificent fragrance. It smells wonderful, sophisticated, and stays close to the skin. Vanilla and a touch of lemon carry it in the air. There is a beautiful wedding cake scent to it that is absolutely scrumptious. At times it smells like a cooled creme brûlée. I would dare say that this marks an important transition of Olivier Creed and his son Edwin as they collaborated on the creation of this scent. It does have silage, as I was complemented on the scent about 6 hours after I first put it on in the morning. Simply a gorgeous fragrance.

MDWake8

Gorgeous. So simple and yet all the right elements to make the perfect classically clean vanilla scent.

dial800whocares

I tested this fragrance and i honestly could barely smell it it was that light. I love vanilla, but for $475 a bottle one squirt should be enough to last for hours and certainly you should be able to at least smell it on your skin. There are much cheaper alternatives out there for a vanilla scent..especially one quite this bland.

Dark Curls

OMG I love this. I get a nice mixture of lime and vanilla, then it simmers down to a pleasant and sweet vanilla. I just knew I would like this perfume!
