I like it, but I'm not crazy about it enough to keep it. Having Encre Noire covers this type of fragrance for me, although Rocky is much more wearable. Selling a good amount of this one for 2 EUR per ml. If you are in Europe, PM me.

Shadowxperfume

My father's scent so comforting

Zaca

Peppery opening, flinty violet and vetiver. The beauty of Rocky Mountain Wood lies in its middle phase, where it smells exactly like wet sawdust on a dewy morning (if that’s your thing) That scent drops away in the base notes, leaving a woody, incensy white musk. Lovely presentation, sadly discontinued, tried 2Wood but it’s nowhere near as good as the original.

A distinctive WOODY FLORAL . Fresh. Pleasant ,Comforting .... evocative of soil , trees and shrubbery, wet from the morning dew .The cedar wood is dry , slightly powdery and not artificial to the nose .
More for informal occasions and everyday use . Long lasting and linear , yet discreet . It has become one of my year round favourites .

Not Blind buy , but worth exploring .... IF found at a reasonable price .

This is beautiful I’m not a fan of the og he wood because of the violet leaf, it’s a bit to much. This does not have the violet leaf note and it’s so much more wearable.

tessture

Pleasant light sheer cedar with a feel of orris underneath and a ever so slightly smoky edge like smoked cork, but lacks depth or interest on my skin. Maybe if it was cheap. Easy to wear, anyway. I'm female and I feel this would work on anyone who likes light wood scents. Doesn't last long, sadly, and reminds me of other things. Doesn't distinguish itself.

Ammm…Burnt wood smell of forest with the rocky mountain woods. I don’t know why but I love this one. The aroma of forest flowers always grabs my attention and, in this masterpiece, there is amalgamation of both. This natural scent is much masculine and quite wonderful with long lasting longevity, nice projection. This scent is wild yet gentle, heavy yet soft and a natural one overall with the fresh cut cedar wood scent with violet flower’s scent. This warm and woody scent imparts the vibes of a forest that is spicier, darker and heavenly altogether. Opening is with the dry green scent which is nice along with the floral accords spiced up with pepper and the creamy lilies and cool violets. Amber’s warmth with the smoky incense as well as a cool breezy musk tends to remind about the heat of day held in the mighty tree’s trunk. Silage is moderate and longevity is above average for this one. Would have been more amazing if longevity was bombastic too. this is perfect for the days that are neither too hot and nights that are nor cold or balmy. There is pinch of mystery in this bold and naughty one. Totally worth a buy!

Much much better than the new wood line.Bring back this masterpiece.

maybe i got the fake or expired bottle or something like that but damn this smelled awful, like an actual wet log

This used to be my ex wife’s daughter’s favorite scent that I wore. I think I bought it because it was the supposed best of the 4 He Wood’s released at that time.

I always perceived it as a friendlier version of Encre Noir. Very clean and powdery. Probably the best rendition of a grade school pencil case, ever created, and works for any age. It always felt more Fall than Spring to me.

I guess i’m lucky to still have a 3.4 oz vintage bottle, just under halfway full. No telling what Ebay prices are now.

I got this male cologne back in the day for my ex. I picked it because of the woody notes he liked, but oh boy.. this is so not my cup of tea.. The bottle is pretty, very unique - actual woody frame with the glass bottle "trapped" inside the frame. Very clever, original, looks great! I never seen anything like it. The cologne as the name suggest it's predominately and entirely with woodyness. Maybe I detected some florals but it's hard to say cos this to me smells exactly like a wet wood/tree after a rain. That being said, I dislike it very much... it gives me headache and I can't stand it. I prefer other types of male scents. But if the man in your love adores loooots of woody fragrances, that one is a good, realistic smelling one.

I sampled mancera wind wood yesterday and this fragrance today, I detector a very minimal difference, and I'm not one to think things smell alike if they don't. Both smell great, but this is a bit rougher, wind wood is smoother and a bit more 3 dementional (and a touch smokier?), not to mention a stronger scent. Oh,and it's cheaper as of now. I don't see any reason I'd want this over wind wood other than a cool bottle. still, both great scents and I hope to pick up a bottle of wine wood when the funds allow it

He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood by DSQUARED² is a pleasant violet-fresh masculine. I find it aptly named, as the crisp array of notes does evoke a sense of fresh mountain air.

DSQUARED² is a fantastic, inexpensive brand, however, it appears that they have discontinued a majority of their earlier scents and have re-branded themselves with a range of new releases. This is disappointing as the He Wood and She Wood line left quite an impression.

He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood opens with a soapy blend of violet and lily, roughed up by vetiver, cedar and black pepper. If you enjoy Prada Infusion d'Homme or Prada Infusion de Vetiver, you'll probably enjoy this DSQUARED² flanker. It shares a similar fresh, masculine floral vibe.

This fragrance is really outdoorsy and crisp, ironically ideal for mountain hiking and enjoying nature. He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood could also work well in an office environment as it smells fresh and clean on the skin and is relatively inoffensive. A quick online search has shown that although discontinued, bottles and decants are still easily sourced, but may come with an increase in price due to its rarity.

The projection is moderate to strong, (dependant on the number of sprays), and the longevity is impressive, lasting approximately six hours on my skin on sweltering Summer's day. I would advise against a blind purchase, but if you can source a sample or a decant, I would definitely recommend sampling DSQUARED² He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood.

NoodleSnack

hello guys. anyone found a clone for this?

GiannisP

It was my signature fragrance, my only fragrance for more than 8 years! I can't say something bad about this, it has so much memories. It's a woody, violet scent with some sweetness and vetiver. It's very woody but not harsh, the wood is smoothed up and comes sweet. I think that this is a easy to like fragrance, i got a ton of compliments all these years, you can use it anytime, anywhere except the really warm days.

I am so sad that this is discontinued, i was thinking about getting a second bottle but i will go for something else and use this less.

marcel2782

Old-fashion because it is based only on wood and flower. But it was developed to be a "modern" take on old-fashion. And this one achieved it with masterful success. Masterpiece in designer perfumery standards. Intense cedar in high volume (although with a little artificial vibe), kind of moist and greenish by the leaves of violet, contrasting with its characteristic powdery floral-acid sweetness, but in no way excessive, only very different - there's an aftershave barbershop vibe - kind of a macho-man frag. I consider this the designers counterpart to Le Labo Santal 33. Intense projection for 2 hours.

cerberus08

I'm going to buy a backup bottle of this because it smells very good. Very simple scent but smells great. Trust me. 3 sprays are enough for 2 hours of projection with 7 hours of longevity. Forget about the baby diaper smell. I think people are often sniffing baby diaper to compare between fragrances. Just forget about it and buy this one if you like soft floral scent. For me, this smells more like a floral unisex fragrance where CK ONE smells like a citrusy unisex fragrance.

SmellBound

This fragrance is so misnamed it should be a crime...

With a name like "Rocky Mountain Wood" you would expect to smell???

Anyone??

WOOD!!

This fragrance has no wood at all. None. Not a bit. Let alone "Rocky Mountain Wood". I live in the Rockies and this fragrance smells absolutely, positively nothing like the Rockies, or any wood that grows in them. If it smells like anything in the Rockies at all, it has to be a florist shop in Vail.

You would expect to smell blue spruce, pine, and resins with a name like this. Perhaps even a Little smoke, or sap. Nope... None of that. Just a floral mess.

The wooden frame around the bottle is the only "woody" thing about this one.

Violet leaf, and more violet leaf, with an ozonic, powdery haze to it.

EauDeBaldy

It seems, by looking at the reviews, that this really does depend on how this works for you, on your skin and what not because what I get from this, is not anything I like at all and I'll explain why.

He Wood on the initial spray is a very odd smelling one. It starts off with this smell that takes me back to when I lived in the Bronx and knew a lot of the neighbors in my building. Neighbors who were seniors, also those who cooked a lot and barely opened the windows to let the smell out.

That smell when it settles, that odd, off setting smell that is like a smell you can’t figure out. Like an old syrup.

If this sounds weird, thats how this comes off to me initially.

As It settles down, it just calms down with everything but still smells the same.

I can’t get myself to enjoy this one personally. I can see how certain types might like this, like a lumberjack or someone like that, but, I just can't.

blueblues

It's an interesting combination of simple notes. The interplay between the floral and woody and some spicy elements is what makes this fragrance stand apart. There is also some sweetness - I would have thought there's also some tonka/vanilla.
It does not agree with my taste (too floral), but I recognise this could be appealing to a lot of people.

faubel

Very light, pretty, and refreshing scent. Reminds me of Ellen Tracy Bronze when first sprayed. Definitely get the violets and woods. The far drydown has a subtle but high-pitched scent that reminds me of completely unscented bar soap or maybe even aldehydes. This stayed with me throughout a long and active work day, although clothing probably helped its longevity. That soapy quality makes this a no-go for me but I imagine that most people wouldn't mind it.

HighCountryEsq

He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood smells like a baby/diapers.

Professor Value

I sampled all of the He Wood DSQUARED² for men fragrances and decided that I liked Rocky Mountain Wood the best. Bought a bottle. And then, someone on Facebook had to comment that he thought it smelled like "diapers." Well, now to me it does, seriously. I can't help but smell the Pampers. I'm trying to burn through the bottle now. Ugh. However, if you're looking for a decent pepper scent, try this one out.

cashewdoc

Bright and beautiful earthy daytime spring scent. Very unique and addictive. Performs admirably for how light it is. I don't have a bad thing to say about this one, it has a permanent place in my collection.

Br0wnsfn34

Even though this is a love to me because it is easy on the nose, I believe that this is just nice.. I hit the love button on this frag because even if I dont love it I like it way more than it just being a like. This is a violet based fragrance and I am just not into violet. It does have an aquatic/ozonic vibe to it which is why I believe I really like this scent. At the 10-15 minute mark it goes to the direction of a feminine fragrance. Again I "love it" but it is no where near my favorites.

Nigeldane

I find this fragrance to be a beautiful hybrid between floral and woody. The vetiver pokes it head out with the cedar and finishes nicely with violet. The drawbacks: when initially sprayed, it smells only like alcohol. You have to wait a minute or two for that smell to subside, then it is heavenly. The other drawback, it stays close to the skin. I really can't tell you if maybe you just get so used to it personally, or maybe the smell just evaporates quickly. Only time will tell. Overall, I am happy to have it in my collection and enjoying it. If it had beast mode performance it would be a 10, but without it, I will give it an 6.5/10!

La grande bellezza

If you love discontinued KENZO AIR, and Eau de Cartier Vetiver Bleu is not so much similar for you [to Kenzo Air] try He wood Rocky Mountain or blend He wood Rocky Mountain + Eau de Cartier Vetiver Bleu

He wood Rocky Mountain is airy-woody-floral scent, like early spring, when snow melt and nature wakes up but air is still cooler.

mix of official notes recalls blend of licorice & anise & iso e super & light vetiver

This scent is like:

Peaceful, quiet, and mellow & under chill-out layer is mood of desire to live life.

Like fresh breeze of open space after day when you was bored and closed in house.

sasa.ss

Similar to Encre Noire L'Extreme.
Dark ceder and vetiver with powdery note in background during few hours, subtle cashmere note shows in further dry down and makes it very unisex.

Projects nicely, but it saturates sense of smell very fast, so the person who wears it might think that it's weak.

Mr. Monday

I received this today, mine is a 11/17 batch code 21H19AH1. When I first spray it I get a very strong alcohol smell, stronger than any other fragrance I own. The fragrance is very weak on me, it doesn't project at all and lasts for about 3.5 hrs as a skin scent. I only smell woods in the opening 10 minutes. After that, all I smell is powdery violet mixed with spices. It does have a very airy refreshing quality that I would appreciate more if it wasn't so weak.

DPTGC

I received this today from FragranceNet.com and to my nose I get the violet and woody notes. A lovely scent for the spring or fall in my opinion. However, and perhaps it’s my batch— the juice is rather faint and weak. On my skin this doesn’t project far and I often forget I even have this fragrance on. Perhaps if it was a little stronger, I would wear this during a nice brisk walk outside during the fall, holding my wife’s hand; and sipping a delicious coffee. Regardless, a beautiful scent which will separate you from the hordes of people wearing synthetic fragrances, And might I add, the structure of the bottle makes for a rugged piece on your fragrance shelf. Regards.

FAvonHayek

I would genuinely like to like this fragrance. It's supposed to be woody and I like the branding of the producer. However, the smell is old-school and minty. A chemical mess in other words. Definitely not for me.

Well already some time a parfume lover.
But now since last week official member from this website.
And my first review is for my beloved Dsquared Rocky mountain. My no.1 perfume in winter month's or night times.

I received a sample in a parfume store from the He Wood EDT somewhere just after the release in 2009.
First sniff....wow this is strong ! Don't know what to think about it ?
But after the dry out it smelled pretty interesting. I had never smelled anything like this.
I decided to use the sample twice when I went out with my girlfriend at that time.
She immediately said, wow you smell really nice !
After some time when I used this sample, it gave me some kind off adictive reaction to smell the whole time my own clothes.
So I was positive ! A very warm, addictive masculine smell.

Later that month I received a present from my girlfriend for my birthday. I opened it, and it was He Wood Rocky Mountains.
So I was a bit dissapointed because this was not what I had as a sample ?
But when I opened it and sprayed it on....it was just spot on for me.
A more intense woody vide then the normal He Wood.
It's a perfume with an intense wooden smell in a positive way. A bit strong...
It became in the next years my favorite night time perfume.
It's best for the fall and winter months.
Longevity is great, I smell it 7 hours later still strong. And be carefull with the amount of sprays because it's a heavy parfume.
But my god...what a scent. So masculine.
My girlfriend who ended up as my wife in 2013 asked me to were this perfume at our wedding day.
I think this says enough.
Today at online sites it's also very nicely priced.

Dsquared, thanks for this great perfume !

Ggrisu

Wood and a hint of smoke.
Winter/fall scent for casual situations.
Too harsh for office.
Overall something between 8-9/10 because it's quite unique.

Donjuandemarco

First off it's very natural smelling fragrance. I remember one of my ex girlfriend had a parfum like this all the time on, i don't mean it's feminine but could be considered as unisex easily, may be her memories got me to love this fragrance.

In the Opening for like 5 mins all i get Encre Noir, i mean huge vetiver bomb on me, then cedar and insence kicks in(still no violet)

After 10mins violet is becoming more prominant, and such a good blend and harmony in the notes, you can also get some tiny bit of pepper, then after drydown mostly cedar is noticed

It lasts and last on my skin, survives a shower.. I mean appr. 10 hours, okay not a project monster but i think RMW is not meant to be a beast in terms of projection, it's like it's smell so soft and pleasent. It reminds you from time to time that it's still there

Spring and Fall is perfect for it and layers great with EN Lalique

Great blind buy!

rickyfreaky13

The best woody scent i ever smelled. I am transported to the middle of the wood instantly everytime i smelled this

OrangeSatchel89

The dry down is somewhat similar to Prada Infusion D’Iris...

msajoy

winter/spring outdoors and masterpiece...best outdoor woody scent with violets.,....such a gorgeous scent..genuine and will always be a classic

jflegault

It does sort of smell like a walk in a forest. Far from overpowering, it's rather weak as it sits close to the skin even after I just sprayed it. Reminiscent of some deodorants. Overall, it's nice.

pickle1334

This crap lasts like 20 minutes & I'm not upset because it smells like straight up black pepper.

scentitar

A great classic scent that has a rough and tumble edge.

It does the magic of reminding you of the rocky mountains. The smell of stone, fir, and the pleasant structure of the original.

This is a better version of the original, which was lacking wood and a base to the fragrance. You get it here , but it does have a bit of a different feel.

4 to 6 hours and fair projection.

Mature Men who love Terre de hermes or Dunhill Icon will find this a pleasant surprise.

A great gift for Dad.

Mehran98

Smells like forest, very fresh and woody.

mmchenry

i need to find where i can get a sample tester in montreal quebec to be absolutely sure it is the scent i want to wear b4 i buy it. can anyone help?

coltranedreams

i recoiled at the first sniff of this scent. it smelled like zoologist's "beaver" which i so dislike, except that this one i can wear and enjoy because it doesn't have the musky wet animal odor that "beaver" has.

hmm... i can actually like this... layered perhaps with something citrusy... nah, it's good as is.

Billy Belial

Very nice woody floral fragrance. Completely reminds me of autumn in Berlin. Has some similar vibe to Fahrenheit by Dior because of the note of violet, but much more versatile and can be weared all year around in every situation. The sillage and longetivity are average at it's best - 6 hrs+. 8,5/10.

I blind bought this one. Despite an amazing sounding note break down, to my nose this was a big no. It smelled exactly like a just opened package of baby diapers. Any parent knows that smell, straight diapers. While it lasted all day and had decent projection the smell was just not what I was looking for.

trm1984

Got a sample of this and I have to say it's definitely not for me. The original HeWood has been recommended to me many times given my likes, but a few users warned that I might not like it since I tend to not enjoy soft/soapy/powdery frags. This is definitely in that realm of soapy frags. The violet is really prominent and lends this frag a soft/soapy/floral vibe mixed with very soft woods. It's more unisex than masculine imo. It's difficult for me to detect the others notes in this, I can perhaps smell a little bit of soft musk, maybe a touch of vetiver, I don't get the incense or black pepper in here at all. The dry down is almost 100% violet and powdery woods. Definitely not something I'd wear.

Andy Panayiotou

A great fragrance that's unique but not in the possibly offputing kind of way. It really does evoke it's name.
It's a cozy scent that stays close to the skin from pretty early on but lasts over 8 hours on my skin.
I would suggest this for more mellow situations for sure.

brett181

I first bought this because of the Violet note in the composition.

I had been reading a fantasy novel where the lead character was given a mirror made from a Dragon's scale. His travels had led him to mountainous regions with snow capped peaks, and in a time of dire need, he had to break the mirror to cut through the bindings around his wrists. The character mentioned the heady smell of violets and peppery cold earth as the mirror broke. This is exactly what I smell when I first spray this fragrance.

Even on the hot tropical days of an Australian Gold Coast summer, Rocky Mountain cuts right through the heat and humidity, and leaves me feeling fresh and clean. The violet is fragrant but not sweet and for me, underscored closely by pepper and incense. There is certainly Vetiver and Cedar in the body which is what I think helps give this fragrance that feeling of cool and fresh mountain air. The Vetiver is a softer fresher form more like the roots just dug from the earth, and the Cedar is slightly crisper more like timber at the sawmill rather than standing in a forest.

I think the nose behind this fragrance has done well to invoke the feeling of being in a rocky mountain forest. He Wood Rocky Mountain feels cool and fresh but also has just enough earthy spice to give it balance and depth.

I should add that this fragrance definitely has a crisper note in the colder weather. The Lily seems to come through more, but in a fresh way without the usual cloying sweetness.

PimlicoNose

A flanker to the original He Wood and, for once, one that improves on the original. The emphasis on the woody notes has been shifted slightly and the overall balance makes for a darker more interesting composition. The parma violet sweetness of the original has been tempered somewhat and incense, white pepper and musk are blended to give in interesting flinty, rock like accord that evens out and grounds the violet more firmly to woody base. Overall it feels far less artificial that the other flanker, He Wood Intense.

GeoffOx

This might be one of the first scents I ever owned. As soon as I picked up the beautiful bottle it was love at first sniff. Several years later, it's still something I find mesmerizing. I've read a couple of reviews that call this juice synthetic, but to my nose nothing could be further from the truth. A very natural woodsy scent. The cedar, vetiver, pepper, and violet are all authentic smelling.

A niche scent, I'd say. Woody and masculine with a delicate floral counterbalance.

In terms of wearability, this definitely falls into the "for me" category. It's amazing, but there aren't many occasions to wear it. Wouldn't be a gym / date / club / office / intimate fragrance. Probably best suited for camping, a lakeside barbecue, or a cozy night at a ski lodge. Anything with a northern outdoorsy vibe, really.

Although I was raised in the Canadian countryside (beautiful), I'd call myself as a full-blown city guy these days. Too bad, I wish I could wear this more often. The only days I try to pull it off is on breezy autumn afternoons, but Shanghai is definitely not the place to do this scent justice.

It has its flaws, though. Fist of all, it's weak. Projects for an hour or two, sticks around as a (weak) skin scent for another hour or two, and then it's just gone. Can we make this stronger please?

Second, the opening is a peppery blast (I don't mind it, but some do), and the dry down is a bit too floral. The sweet spot where all the notes balance perfectly usually lasts less than an hour.

Still, it's a lovely, unique, natural scent. True to its name, it does evoke imagery of towering mountains, cedar forests, floral breezes, and damp earth. Beautiful.

Hastey

I like this, but I wanted to love it. I see cedar and I get excited, and don’t get me wrong it’s there, but toned down with the other notes, mainly the violet. It’s so prominent that I would dare say makes it border on being unisex.

If you love your woods but need something toned down, this might be the answer. It’s pleasant smelling and to be honest the violet prevents it from being overbearing. Some woods can be annoying and powerful to some people.

So, would I have it in my collection? Probably not, I have far better woodsy scents that I would rather invest in as back up bottles. Glad I just got a decant.

DrNDJas

I've worn the sample I ordered a few times, and try as I may to like this, the violet here ruins it for me- the woods underneath are really nice, but I keep getting the annoying protrusion of powdery, feminine floral notes in a fragrance I want and expect to be masculine. There are much better woody fragrances out there, and this doesn't work for me. Smells synthetically woody and powdery. I'll not be ordering a bottle.

Update: I just acquired Equus by Lalique. It is a much better, more natural, less powdery/floral version of RMW. If that damned strong violet note in this annoys you, try Equus.

TonkaTOMMY

I like this scent.i personally cannot spray more then 2 times, but it lasts, and projects pretty good for 3 hours. Definition of moist woody rocky road. With some pepper for a kick in the ass. Pretty unique stuff here.

leonwhite007

The best woody fragrance out there, at least for me. Very fresh fragrance, the scent of violets and lilies breezing through a dense damp woods. Something to wear every day on every occasion. 10/10

WeAreTheCosmos

I usually can't smell ISO E Super, or just barely. This is usually a mild floral fragrance for me.

Today, however, I was getting ISO E on full blast... I smelled like a lumber yard in the spring when the wild flowers encroach on the perimeter.

MrHonest

Guys and gals, I just had to share this...

Today, I put on a shirt that was sprayed with RMW 2 days ago and was SHOCKED to find that the scent had degraded to DIOR HOMME COLOGNE.

What an AWESOME transition! Beast mode longevity with the OG (on my skin) and Dior Homme Cologne on clothes for another 2 days. Very happy about this...

MrHonest

I’ve been an outdoorsman all my life, so it’s easy to see how I could be biased towards loving this juice.

But after an unfortunate incident where I wore He Wood Intense and spent an agonizing night on the bathroom floor due to illness, I was a little trepidatious about getting myself a bottle of Rocky Mountain Wood, despite the great reviews. True flankers usually smell very similar to the originals, and the fear was that my aversion to HWI would carry over.

Luckily, my determination to face my fear paid off; and in my opinion, this juice represents everything that I enjoyed in HW and HWI, without any annoying fluff. It’s essentially a simpler and more balanced composition.

You still get that strong pepper from the beginning, but in this one, the cedar and violet are more prominent. The combination smoothes out in the mid, to form a gorgeous woody-floral, with the violet giving it that soapy aquatic feel. Vetiver is barely noticeable and perfectly set in the background for an earthy touch; but it’s NOT heavy and certainly not dirty.

People have described this as a walk through a cedar forest after a rainfall, a damp river rock, or a chic vacation cabin – and I’ll have to agree. To me, it brings back memories of camping with my family, sleeping in tents and cooking freshly caught fish on the fire. It’s amazing how much I appreciate this stuff.

So if you love the outdoors, I would definitely recommend this as a staple in your collection. If A*Men Pure Wood is a cozy evening in the cabin (sweet) and Coty’s Aspen is a sunny day hiking outside (dry), then Rocky Mountain Wood is a damp evening camping in a tent by the creek (cool). Just make sure you educate yourself before venturing out.

And if you’re not a big fan of pepper, don’t worry. Although it’s obvious when smelled up close, it’s magnificently blended in the sillage, so it won’t get cloying. I mean, who can be offended by a burly man’s soap?

Think: Simple, peppery, aquatic, violet, cool

A dewy, woody scent that begins with a blast of violet and quickly morphs into a faint, warm forest breath. The violet is initially reminiscent of Dior Fahrenheit though without any motor oil of course. Just a lovely, woody floral that captures the ambience of a posh yet cozy log cabin. If you thought CDG Wonderwood could use some florals then look no further. Seems to sit very close to the skin and there's something very post rain about it. I'd love this on a gloomy day.

aff_lyk_dat

I am very bad at smelling fragrances so i asked my female collegues in the office to review it and they said that the smell is like entering a luxurious and super expensive hotel with wooden tiles. From there i knew that this is a good one.

This is my All time favorite. I wish it had longevity. If only.

It's hard to find a well-balanced woody fragrance for me. I have tried a few like the Azzaro Visit where I find the nutmeg note adding a bit extra sweetness and an oily wood feeling rather than the freshness I am looking for. Then, I've also sampled A-Men Pure Wood, which has a quite authentic feel but the omnipresent TMuller vanilla sweetness turns me off.
And there you have He Wood Rocky Mountain, a reasonably priced alternative that presents itself as a unisex mixture between florals and wood, and as I am writing this I sense the floral side overwhelming the woody one. The vetiver is also very strongly present here.
It's a nice balance, elegant and sophisticated, great for people with a similar mindset. However, I also find it a bit emasculating and my quest for the perfect woody fragrance continues.

rasato

Calming and pleasant fragrance. The violet shines through beautifully. Maybe it's me, but this seems more floral than woody. Unisex vibe. Appropriate for fall or spring or cool summer days. A white shirt kind of fragrance. Reminds me a lot of Prada Infusion d'Homme.

Update 28 Dec 2016: The powdery floral notes of this allegedly masculine fragrance would make your grandmother happy. Despite this, it still works. Very nice. But no sharpness, very soft. Note that there is nothing reminiscent of Rocky Mountains here. I lived in Calgary, AB, for a decade, and got to know the Rockies well, having spent a lot of time hiking, climbing, camping, etc. This fragrance smells nothing like the Canadian Rockies.

rerthegreat

I have read mention of a clean cotton tee. I have also seen mention of pepper. I have read mention of the original tommy Bahama and comparisons to some other fragrances. To me, this smells as if you have combined Tommy Hilfiger true star and the improperly marketed burberry the beat. You get the pepper and cedar of the beat with the freshness, clean feeling and a bit of leather from true star.

A very nice, inoffensive, natural woody fragrance. Very well suited for casual and office, and when youll be spending much of your day outdoors. Can be found very cheaply and is worth the buy. Ultimately i think i prefer both true star and the beat as separate entities but I enjoy this nonetheless. Not the best woody fragrance ever but an excellent job nonetheless.

bfactor

Masculine and calm, suitable for as an office work wear. The incense is discernible, so I think it's more suited to a more mature style. My only concern is that the woody note doesn't seem to last very long on me, usually 3 hours or less. It then morphs into a light sweet, soapy scent, which is quite pleasant, but anyone wanting a woody mood will need re-application.

Ryanmmas26

So after seeing all the positive reviews I blind bought this fragrance and I was HIGHLY disappointed.

I was expecting a fresh, clean woody smell with a lot of violet but all I get out of this scent is A LOT of pepper and cedar. In the opening I did smell Violet but after the scent died all I smelled was pepper and cedar. For some people they want that in a scent but if I'm to be honest I do not like this even in the slightest.

I also think this scents name is very accurate as to what this smells like as the cedar note is very natural and this is the scent that I'd picture a lumberjack wearing.

I was hoping for something more people pleasing and something I could wear to work but because of the pepper I don't see that happening.

Performance- This did last 6-10 hours but with soft projection.

Overall rating --- 5 out of 10 ! I want to give this scent at least a 6 but this stuff is just irritating to wear and actually gives me a headache and that says a lot considering I have 120 + fragrances.

What a waste of $40 !!!!!!

nerd9891

I think those saying it's fresh and natural smelling are spot on. I was actually immediately reminded of encre noir, but this is much cleaner, fresher, and nicer in my opinion. I actually seem to have 0 problems at all with performance, and I spray 2-3 shots up each forearm. I've worn this 4 times, and 3 of those times someone has told me how good I smell. When I and others enjoy the smell, then I know I have a winner. 5 stars, 2 thumbs up, and whatever other highest rating I can give. This smells goooooood.

rmf1112

Has a similar violet opening of fahrenheit with some of the pepper-cedar-incense of Gucci pour homme. Also has a note that reminds of Ralph Lauren Purple Label. Very pleasant and familar feel, especially on clothes. Its masculine without being overly aggressive.

Sillage seems soft, would like to see an EDP, or maybe a darker version, but it is very nice.

Luke Travers

Probably the best scent I have up to yet. A light clean, woody, fresh smell which was a blind buy and I'm pleased I got it.
To me it opens up with a cedar, amber, musk and pepper and then I get a dry down of violet, lily, incense, and vetiver after about a hour. The dry down is quite addictive and fresh like damp rocks in the woods on misty and dewey day.
I can smell it on my shirt for next couple of days and about 7-8 hours on my skin with moderate projection. Excellent value for the price and I will by again when I run out but 100ml instead of 30ml.
Projection- 7/10
Silage- 6/10
Scent- 9/10
Longevity on skin - 6/10

HeWood Rocky Mountain Wood

Perhaps the best rendition of walking through a heavily wooded forest after a rain storm. Few scents can pull off taking you to a place and manage to be so wearable. It’s got a slight peppery quality that gives it a rounded edge. The Virginia cedar is clean cut, natural, and oh so good. There’s no smokiness to this, it’s a fresh and spicy scent that achieves the perfect woody drydown other fresh scents could only dream of doing. Like an infusion of fresh cedar and a dirty earthy violet. It’s rich, raw, and dare I say creamy. DSquared’s best work to date.

For those of you considering Silver Wind Wood, don’t. SWW smells like a derivative of bug spray that spits in the face of this work of art.

Longevity and projection are great. Silage could be better. Stick to two sprays. It’s hit or miss with women; some really like it, others really don’t. But I’m convinced those that dislike it have an aversion to the uniqueness and unexpectedness of this scent rather than the scent itself. Did I mention the bottle is seriously bad ass?

Does anyone know if this was discontinued?
I'm facing difficulties to find this one at the retailers. Over the last months prices skyrocketed, at least where I use to buy (kind of what happened to A*Men Pure Malt). Any information about this would be welcome.

Spring has sprung and am enjoying Rocky Mountain again. I have a review from last Spring below, I just wanted to mention the mineral accord here that I'm picking up on...

This is a fine woody floral, but it is also very much a mineral or Rocky and floral. The musk along with the violet, pepper and Lilly make an accord reminisant of wet rocks. So it does transport me to a high place in the Rocky mountains, by a stream on a cool Spring day.

I think this is like a niche fragrance like L'Artisan Parfumeur. The contrasting accords just blend so nicely and harmoniously. The musc, vetiver and pepper accord with the floral accord of Lilly and violet. A great composition of perfumery, a modern day classic.
Lilly and violet are known to have an aquous vib in perfumery. So along with the mineral, mountain impression, you also may get an impression of a mountain stream.

Would be great if they made an edp strength to help the performance.

HidingSun

It's an awesome smelling underrated fragrance. Very few people are aware of Rocky Mountain Wood which I think is good. I'm glad to have got a bottle of this. The projection is very good for the first 3 hours then slowly subsides but you can still smell it close to the skin even after 12 hours.

As people have mentioned below it's not an ultra masculine fragrance, it's quite unisex for it's name. However it will remain in my wardrobe for a very long time.

The bottle design is cool with engraved letters on wood but I found it difficult to hold and spray the way I liked.

Overall very satisfied and I highly recommend it.

smellavision

Well... opening with a blast of synthetic peppery violet with vetiver and incense that transforms into a very strong cedar note.
As it dries down it becomes dry and slightly powdery. A casual scent. Longevity and projection are pretty good though.
I heard people mentioned this being similar to Encre Noire, but except for the vetiver I find no similarities at all - I must say I’m not a fan of this, sorry. Still on the lookout for that first violet scent that I like.

jamiehammond1980

People talk about how woody this frag is but all I get is a sweet kind of formal smell which I have to admit I do like it but with a name like rocky Mountain road I was expecting something earthy with a nice peppery kick if I was do squared I would have named this country meadow road but that's just my opinion and people talk about the cedar which I can't detect but if you want cedar then quarom silver that is cedar personified just can't beat it for the price and quality nuff said x

sniper_coepoe

Kinda funny, because the top notes stings my nose with its soapy scent, similiar scent to Biore face wash

At first I didn't like it, smells synthethic too. I almost lost hope on this frag. Until its drydown, the wood scent start to kick in and the soapy scent blend well with the wood scent. I don't find the scent to be on masculine side, rather it tend to unisex and calming, like we are taking a walk in a rocky mountain alone.

Perfect for winter and cold, perhaps evening scent

andrew22

Favorite scent. Cedar and vetiver.

bled_eidol

I tried a 3ML sample of this. Nice dry wood scent. There is a powdery note but the scent is complex enough that it does not overwhelm. My only criticism was that the strength/longevity was not great for me. With 6-8 sprays, the scent was very weak after about an hour. I would give it another go in cooler weather, but I'm not sure I'll be buying a full bottle.

micavana

I received a sample of this recently. After a full day I have to say that it is good. A nice clean soapy wood scent. Great for the office or causal. Good projection and great longevity on my skin.

A Very nice scent, but I will not be adding a bottle of to my collection. While I do like it, there are several other clean wood scents I prefer over this one.

amirali0072000

it is a gorgeous woodsy/voliet spicy fragrance from Canada..smells so natural of different woods and incense,Attacks attention and indeed smells like mountains...i like it very much

wolflarson

Rocky Mountain Wood is a great scent that doesnt get the fanfare it deserves.

It is an extremely dry woody floral with a great sheerness to its projection.
It bottle is accurate in how it pertains to the smell in not only how it looks, but also how it feels. It feels rough and textural, like the grain on a 2X4. The smell is similar, related to a pencil sharpener.

RMW opens very softly. Be warned that you do not need more than 4 sprays, as it settles close, but expands loud after an hour or so.

It opens with a smooth violet/lemon/and cedar accord.
To my nose, there isnt any amber, and the incense seems more like a residual of the other notes coalescing than a intentional note.
The violet is done very well here, and tapers off dryness of the cedar. It isnt the wet variety, but it still manages to soften up the war drum of the cedar.

This top and middle passage stays strong for around two hours until it settles down to a relaxing pepper and vetiver duo. This is more a vetiver scent than a cedar in the braod scheme of things, and comparisons to Encre Noire are merited.

In fact, this could be a great replacement for Encre Noire in the summer time, as it flies the banner for a dry, woody vetiver scent without it being dark or heavy handed in the summer humidity (if you live on the east coast).

Its a great scent and is focused in its masculinity. Women tend to appreciate men smelling more manly once they get out of their college stage, and this would be sure to garner compliments from many a college educated female.
Projection is loud after an hour, but turns to a subdued, subtle scent after three. Expect it to last around 6 hours for more than a skin scent effect.

Great job by dsquared.

Rewrite: I'm almost done with this bottle, meaning, the 100ml bottle is done and over with, I only have this travel atomizer left which has 10ml capacity. Now that I'm short on money, I wouldn't consider buying it again. Maybe this is not a comparison that anyone would like, but I'd say, if you're new, go try fahrenheit and Encore Noir, and you could skip this mediocre creation, I really don't mean offence in this statement, it stands as it is, it has its place for someone out there. Just read back and see how much I've used it. I'm finishing the bottle, man. As for me personally, I haven't tried any other offering from this house, my expectation is kinda low, but I'm interested, I don't think the brand itself aren't that popular where I live, now I'm just thinking what do I do with the last few mil? Should I keep it?

gedlive

Update. I'm wearing this today on a hot Spring day in Baltimore, with a few good sprays on my arm and appreciating it in a new way. Being a woody, I would guess this would be a cold weather scent. I think this is a Spring time fragrance, the woods reminding us of the Winter past, and the fresh spices and florals, celebrating the coming of anticipated warmer days !
Been reading about aldehydes, how they can lift, brighten and infuse a frag with mineral freshness. Thats what Im getting today, the florals with the pepper, wood and resinous insense are just so bright, moist, fresh, and sofisticated. I love outdoorsy frags, but this is classier than most. It is pungent and bold, I get excited about this frag each time I wear it. I still don't think it get the credit it deserves, under the radar. Maybe the marketing was off a bit. It should be promoted as a classier fragrance. Distinctive bottle but hard to spray, od shape.

The violet note has gotten many more votes than the lilly note. I believe the lilly note is stronger than the violet and playes a key role in this fragrance composition.

What is intoxicating about the fragrance is the spicy waxy lilly note. It definatly ads that piquant note, and with the smokiness of the incense and pepper make for a great and pleasing accord. All on a wonderfull woody base.

The floral and mineral notes makes it reminisent of a mountain stream, so it is a bit aquatic in a unique way. It reminds me of Creed's Green Irish Tweed and at a designer fragrance price, superb find !
A very refreshing natural woody floral, more woody than floral. I believe it's the incense, violet, lilly, and pungent ceder that make for a beutifully bright accord, within the total composition. The Lilly note gives it a briny touch that ads to a moist/aquatic vib. Very close to a fine niche fragrance, just lacking some performance with longevity.

My first impression was that the violet is very subtle, I dont like violet frags, but this is nice, more like violet leaf. At first it reminded me of a niche frag, Green Irish Tweed by Creed, also tauted as an outdoorsy, walk through the country side scent, which has sandal wood and violet leaf.

I agree with Mark's youtube review, " The best woody floral out there". Robes08

Rating: 8.5/10. I wish the longevity was better. They need an edp. (Royal Black has better longevity)

God bless you. ( John 3:16 )

wbissar

wow! to think that you could imitate nature like this....

This is a very natural damp forest scent that transports you to a misty morning in a mountain forest where air is clean and damp, where you could still smell the smoke from fire you lit last night with touches from wild flowers around you. this is a keeper for me. it has no sense here in egypt and people don't like it for obvious reasons. it so hot, dry and poluted around here which makes this scent rather odd. if you are a pefume lover you'll know what I mean. Cant wait to be tranferred out of this country, I have tons of frags that I cant use around here :(

Rocky Mountain is one of the best woody fragrances that ever been created.

Woody, floral and powdery. With a little blow of spice and fresh.

Rocky Mountain is impossible to describe (you need to smell it).
Every time that I spray it, I feel like a fresh wind in to a forest/ a park.
It's very NATURAL.

Rocky Mountain only have an one negative: the longevity (7 hours).

The Sillage is good for me. Not overdone, discreet but very effective.

Rocky Mountain is perfect for dates and office. An every day fragrance, it's very woody but not heavy/strong.

buy/try/ pass: BUY

obs: I don't need to comment about the flacon that is gourgeous.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A projeção é boa pra mim.

Not available here. I stumbled accross a seller in ebay and immediately bought it. There is a resemblance to Encre Noir in the drydown, but that's where their similarity ends.
This is a summer fragrance. On my skin it has the violet wood musk initial scent. Then the vetiver blends in. Longevity is 4 to 6 hrs on my skin. Projection in minimal. 7/10.

bearinganhourglass

Just a nice smell. Equaly woody, peppery and slightly floral. It will stay like that for a couple hours. The drydown is nice and calm mellow amber. It will not wow you or people around you. The smell is always close to skin. The wood note is very well blended under other undertones. I still prefer Kenzo Homme for woodier and fresher parfume.

amirsasan90

Amazing fragrance !!! :)
This is what, rain smells like !!! :)
I love everything about this fragrance except the Sillage !!!
Unfortunately, this perfume has a poor sillage :(

rnejad

The fun begins about five minutes into this thing. That's when a very fresh vetiver blends with wet cedar and a hint of milk chocolate on my skin. Unfortunately, the fun doesn't last very long at all and it can't ever be enjoyed by anyone around you. The smell itself is amazing, however, for $50+, you'd expect performance to be a lot better. The longevity on my skin is about 2-3 hours. Projection is less than two inches. After an hour, you really have to press your nose against your wrist in search of that amazing mid. That's too bad because the smell itself is incredibly original, dynamic, and very fresh. I've found myself spraying 6 sprays and still getting less than 6" longevity. For that reason, I'll likely end up selling this gem.

claytron

Holy pepper!
Pepper and woods is most of this manly fragrance. The woods are very well done(as you would expect from a fragrance with a name like this). I smell raw, tree sap notes in this and they are my favorite part. Smells like real pine tree sap too, even though it doesn't list pine as a note, it lists cedar.... They are similar but different enough to easily tell them apart and this smells like pine to me. The violet and Lily are hidden pretty well and the amber makes an appearance after the drydown.
This is a very natural smelling fragrance. Totally reminds me of the Rocky Mountain woods, and I should know, I live at the base of the Wind River Range.

pepper

Just bought it! I'm impressed with the opening so fresh fresh fresh forest and little bit some furniture store, for the first 15 minutes.
After that strong note of pepper for 15 min.
Peper gets down and at the end you get woody-floral smell (with little pepper) to the end. Nice!

shayan

Sometimes I get 5 hours of longevity and sometimes +24 hours!! WHAT IS THIS WITCHCRAFT??

kylexora

After first spray, it kinda loud but not make you fainted. I can smell the woody notes, very powerful and fresh at the same time. The incense here is a bit silent and dominant by woody note. the best part is, this is one of the many perfume that remind me of fresh cut wood after the rain. very fresh and full of energy. If you like fresh cut wood, this would be one of your choice. the incense will come in the drydown but lead by woody undertones. The perfume remain as fresh cut wood till drydown and end of the day. Wonderful.

Redbeard

This starts out much weaker, dustier, and less sweet than the original. It's definitely more serious about resembling wet wood, though...in that sense the original was way too green and flowery. It's still a bit synthetic, though not as much as the original, or as l'Eau d'Issey Intense, which I reviewed recently and also found to be a nice, dirty, wet wood. Only after some time do the sweet green violets, which were so prominent in the orignal, come into play somewhat, and this gives it just the right balanced amount of sweetness. It's actually a very good walking-through-the-forest scent, and it took me a while to realize that because it's the scent of a much wetter, colder forest than the dry, sunny ones that I'm used to here in the southwest. In spite of its weakness, this flanker lives up to its name better than the original, and I'm very curious to try the new Ocean Wet Wood and Silver Wind Wood flankers. I'd almost give it a thumbs-up for being less synthetic, and overlook the weakness, but I won't because I'm so sick of violets these days, and the juice is so darkly colored.

andy4444

Smells like a woodier and happier version of "encre Noir" more wood smell and violet as opposed to the greener smell of Encre Noir

döfä91

The scent is awesome, what a great smell, indeed. Best of the dsquared2 He Wood line. I sense this scent except woody of course but also as a cooling, comforting, oudoor-sy - Can be worn in hot humid climate as well - It was yet to see the day for me to find a current, non-vintage fragrance that i can from all of my heart give honestly FULL 5 STARS. Glad i found this one. Like it more than CdG Wonderwood for example.

That was for the scent/smell - unfortunately on my skin the longevity is really bad, only 1,5-2 hours so i will run out of this juice soon, but have already bought a couple of backup bottles - fortunately this one is a quite inexpensive frag.

jesseo11

Way too floral for me. Reminds me of Mr Bubbles. Never gonna work.

lomerlaw

A wonderful scent! Rocky Mountain Wood (RMW) reminds me of Terre d'Hermes: they share middle and base-notes of cedar, vetiver and pepper. RMW lacks Terre's blast of ISO-E Super, which some people find offensive, and the top-notes are different (Violet, versus Terre's citrus opening).

RMW evolves into a heavenly cedar-vetiver combo, with just a hint of pepper detectable. I tend to avoid sweet or gourmand fragrances, and detest synthetic notes, but there's not a hint of those elements in RMW. This is an all-natural, manly, outdoorsy fragrance that doesn't overdo any element. RMW doesn't make any bold statements or emit any discordant notes: it is a classy, warm, woody fragrance that would be appropriate in almost any setting. Some critics might find that RMW is bland or lacking in substance, but I think that its low-key, quality notes are its strength rather than a weakness. A quality scent in a lovely bottle: I really like the wooden frame.

Overall: 9/10

ianannable

A definite plus for the Dsquared house. This is a splendid floral, woody fragrance, with a dose of pepper. The florals are very distinctive here, throughout wearing.

Overall, this is versatile,long-lasting and quality. A buy for all woody fans out there!

A carbon copy of Fahrenheit/farrenheit Aqva-ish - the quality rich ingredients. Enough said...

PS: I love farrenheit in all forms

i just got a bottle of this after about 45 mins i smell my arm and im like damn this must have vetiver in it and it reminds me of Encre Noir so i come here to check and make sure im not going crazy , sure enough im not :)

At first I wasnt sure at all.
And then the more you wear it , the better it grows on you.The incense is just wonderful.
Very manly!

This has always been my Favourite Cologne...A real woody Scent which makes you even more man :P
After a nice shower I put some of WOOD and I feel always refreshed and ready to get started for the day!
REALLY NICE perfume for sure!!

Meaty0

I love this EDT because it's so different to my usual floral or citrus based colognes. Opening with a strong peppery scent, it quickly changes to it's characteristic woody scent. Reminds me of the woody smell inside a genuine Finnish sauna...or a wood pencil. Not a bad thing...a GOOD thing. Gets many compliments and the wife loves it. If you're a REAL man, this is your scent!

malik2011

Good at its best, think it does reach only Mediocrity and stopped.

MHJ77

I bought this for my husband few months ago and it´s absolutely wonderful! Fresh and clean smelling. It lasts quite a while too.

dolcethadon

I smelled this at a profumeria for the first time.. As soon as I sprayed it on the card, I felt like I had smelled it before? Than it came to me! Rocky Mountain Wood smells exactly like Azzaro Visit! Rocky Mountain wood just smells a bit more natural smelling and maybe a bit better quality.. Azzaro Visit is great but some may not like the synthetic vibe it has, so if that is the case Rocky Mountain wood would be a great choice!

Houdini4

Darker, denser, take on the original. This one and silver mountain were my initial favourites from this line and I don't think that's changed?
Deep violets and a little hint of smoke set this apart but still very much set on the common clean, theme of cedar and vetiver which matures to what can only be described as 'woody notes'
Average longevity all in all nice.

Rocky Mountain Wood.
The most natural scent ever.

In my country, Indonesia, its like 'bau triplek' a real woods smell.
Its wild, but gentle.
Its heavy, but soft.
Its Sylvester Stallone's'style after 'war' as Johnny Rambo.(Johnny Rambo too wild, he wear Kouros)

On my skin,
Smell : 10 (at woody genre, its almost perfect)
Longevity : 6 hours max.
Sillage : Subtle

Overall, a solid woody scent.
Thumbs up!

NBguy58

When I first tried it I instantly fell in love with it. To me it smelled so fresh so relaxing it was just amazing. Probably because of the violet it feels clean and alluring. But after buying it I was really disappointed because that's when I noticed the pepper in it. I'm not sure whether I like pepper or not but in this one there's so much of it that it's almost suffocating. I'll probably give this a second try cause it surely deserves one. Definitely check it out. Great fragrance!!

laurakaye

Blind bought this for my son for Christmas. My daughter and I tested it before we wrapped it and we both agreed - if he didn't care for it, we could both see ourselves wearing this.

He did like it, I'm pleased to say. It's such a low-key, pleasant, fresh, just back from a long walk in the woods scent. The cedar and violet combo is lovely and predominant. It doesn't attack or shout, rather it whispers, like fresh air through a forest. Perfect for a man who loves to be outdoors. Bonus: he thought the bottle was really cool.

kaysee

This one is the first Dsquared i've ever tried and I really liked it.
Starts with a spicy note and ends up powdery but masculine at the same time.
Not sold on the longevity, but I'll have to give it one more try before i decide if Im gonna buy it or not.

cyberzigot

This is a blind buy for me. And what a pleasant surprise! This is a very light fragrance but it smells really pleasant, soothing and relaxing. The top notes you will find the pepper being dominant and when the dry down comes, you will get a sweet, creamy wood. It does last quite a long time only with moderate projection.

Why would you like this: You want a soothing, polite and comforting scent. Definitely suitable for office or chill out session at home as this will unlikely to offend anyone.

Why would you dislike this: You prefer projection monsters to grab attention. This fragrance will make you glow in a soothing aura but attract attention from the room it will not. If you don't like pepper then give this a pass too or the top notes will get to you.

Final verdict , if you are the type that would like to have a light, soothing and comforting scent in your collection, this is definitely a must have !

katika779

I bought this fragrance husband's birthday and very much to like. It is a strong sexy scent full of elegance. I recommend :)))

stathis

A great perfume.Masculine and natural.Although i don't like DSQUARED perfumes, this one is an exception.

mvhooper2

The start is SPICY, but once it dries down its all modern man. A spicy, modern, woody and masculine smell.

amirabbas

THIS ONE REALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY YOU PAY!
It doesn't smell synthetic at all. Its pure natural scent. At beginning I can smell wood (cedar), spices specially pepper but it's not annoying, and incense which make it a little smoky and a little floral scents. You can say it’s more woody floral fragrance.

The Dry down is the most beautiful part of this fragrance for me. Dry down is creamy and woody.

I'm fortunate because this fragrance act very well on my skin. The projection is moderate but longevity for me is more than 14 hours and for 10 hours it projects from my skin (it’s going to be weak after first 4 hours but it projects a little for 10 hours).
Suitable for all season. It’s better for fall and spring but you can wear it in summer evenings.

Its woody, floral, beautiful natural, safe scent

Go and but it BUY it. It’s worth your money!

I so wanted to like this fragrance, but on my skin it just florals, and soapy as hell. Which is basically everything i hate about a fragrance. I don't get any woods, pepper or incense.

When i first looked at the notes, i was like 'okay, this is gonna be my new favourite' (as i love darker fragrances), but boy, was i ever wrong..

I thought i misunderstood the concept, but it seems like it just doesn't work on my skin. I'm dissapointed and i hate my skin! :) Had to buy the 'original' He Wood instead.

majid9001

I loved the smell that much so i bought it immidiately but very dissappointed because of lack of longevity. Guess what? Sadly I returned the cologne
So could anyone suggest another cologne with this notes but with more projection and longevity.

Update: Oops I did it again! I give it another try. My new bottle is less floral and more woodsy and longevity really improved!
Happy ;-)

Plucus21

This is an excellent fragrance, especially for outdoors activity. If a lumberjack went to a formal dinner this is what he would wear. I primarily get violet on a bed of cedar. It sounds simple but it is well blended, natural, and very nice smelling.

This fragrance lasts forever on my skin and projects like a boss. The perfect scent for going to the park or hiking, if you would wear a scent for those activities. You could get away with this for other occasions as it is inoffensive but it may not suit them.

hornetz

RMW is one of the few fragrances that gets the pepper notes right and creates a good balance with the floral notes. Definitely evokes a rainy day in the forest image and has that deep note of fresh chopped wood. A great fall fragrance and is light enough to be worn all year and become a signature. The bottle design reminds me of the 'Odori' line up, don't know who copied whom, but I really like that they used real wood instead of a cheap vinyl stick ons. If you are looking for a safe masculine fragrance that stands out from the crowd, RMW is a good choice.

aqua_de_la_vita

I wish I had purchased this cologne over two year's ago when I first seen it. I hadn't heard of it and I didn't want to take a chance.
WOW...is what describes this cologne in my opinion.
When I first sprayed it on my skin I pick up the warm spicy scent with the aroma of violet. He Wood Rocky Mountain has a very unique blend of Incents/ woodsy aroma with amber which makes it a sophisticated fragrance. The other two notes Musk and lily helps to give this cologne a slight floral aroma as if you are walking through a meadow going into a forest with evergreens surrounding you.
The wood casing is an excellent touch to a ONE OF KIND cologne which nothing out there compares to.
I find this cologne best suitable for the fall/winter time. It is a very classy cologne which could be worn on special occasion's as well.
Longevity is well past 9 hour's when you spray it one time only.
Sillage is excellent more then moderate.
Overall, I have several preferred colognes and know I have added this one to my collection which I have used a lot this winter past just spraying it sparingly....8/10

Love at first sniff for me...and the dry down is beautiful. The perfect blend of violet, woods and pepper. The violet is strong, but its soft and comforting, not loud and aggressive (grey flannel anyone?) which is why I love it. I love violet but hate it when it's too strong!
This whole scent is just perfectly fresh, clean and comforting. Outdoorsy and natural.
The pepper is soft and mild, although there is an overall gentle menthol thing going on when I take a big sniff right up my nostrils. Amazing.
This is the perfect fresh clothes smell thing for me. I want my clothes, towels, sheets etc. to all smell of this. Just puts a smile on your face!
I doubt this is what the mountains actually smell like in Canada. Never actually been, though. I don't think people should take this too literally as I am sure they only meant this to be the "vibe" of the scent. Not soil, pine, earth etc. But clean, fresh and natural cool air. They have done this perfectly.
I can see why some people find this boring. It is. It's not deep, complex or evolving, but what's wrong with that? It's not trying to be. It is perfect in it's simplicity, and sometimes you just want something that's, well, nice! With that in mind, it is an every day type of scent...day time, at work, out doors etc.
Projection is pretty good for a few hours and then it stays close to the skin for hours more, so longevity is decent. Best used on cooler days for the warming and comforting effect of it, but the freshness is also good for when it's a bit warmer too. I had it on yesterday, it was warm and muggy and the freshness followed me around all day :-)
Can't recommend this enough!

marca11

Natural, woody... Perfect to me...im a farmer, so i can feel this thing in my "dayjob". I love hunting. I think that this fragrance is all about country guy.

Runbox

This is really heavy on the violet on me. People say it smells like nature - well, it surely does not smell anything like the Norwegian mountains or forests. I remember being very dissapointed by the first spray after opening the box. It is waaaay too floral (the violet not, I'm guessing). Having said that, I do kinda like it now, when applied sparingly (1 spray). I do think it's a good quality scent. It's mellow, it smells natural (though not at all like nature!), and it has great sillage and good longevity. NB! It does get quite soapy after a while, so stay clear if that's not your thing.

I really should give this some more tries, I just rarely find myself reaching for it in the morning. I don't ever find my self thinking "ah, yeah, today I want to smell (like) RMW. I've never used it for nights out and such, and I honestly think this is a "daytime only" fragrance. I've never received any comments on my scent when wearing it.

kanak

a very nice well put together woody scent. infact as dmarcus1260 mentioned, smells very similar to Burberry Touch for men. moderate sillage but long lasting, i get 8 hrs easy. been using it for only a few days now and its the peak of summer out here. this just might smell better in the colder months. 8.5/10. very nice.

AalaAM

A very good and longlasting cologne, reminds me of Loewe 7, mostly because of the incense notes.

jozemo

Where have you been, welcome to my collection, great smell, moderate projection, magnificent skin scent, drydown is great, love this fragrance.

lumberjack

Just captured my soul first smell. If you got bored anormal sweet include fragrances, give him a chance.

Kakibot

Possibly my favourite men's fragrance to this day (maybe together with Burberry London). I do like my men smelling of spices and wood and this one fills all my expectations. At the start it can be VERY peppery, but this later settles down to become more woody. I love both these stages, and they drive me crazy. If a random guy walked past me and I smelled this perfume, I'd probably run up to him to get his number. I wish it was easier to buy this perfume in UK!

jose.m.perez

This is a solid woody fragrance with great violet note. Feels strong and natural, in my opinion this is nature in a bottle. It's like entering a deep forest with violets all around. Very masculine, projects amazing and it last more than 8 hours on me.
I really recommend He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood for the men who likes nature, woody notes and especially violet.
4.5 out of 5.

Jun0711

This is average powdery woody cologne. This is good for casual use in Fall & Winter season.

Jose Marcos

I've forgotten to say something about the pepper: I think it is white pepper, it is very fresh, natural as if it were just being grounded and I can also smell something minty like menthol when I smell it, very soothing. The semll of pepper mixes with the environment, I mean, it seems to get stronger when one is eating and/or prepearing food, like french toast, but in a very pleasant palatable way, different to the one I get from Cartier Declaration or ST Dupont pour homme. It is odd because it doesn't project much, stays very close to you but I can feel it all the time.

Jose Marcos

I am so happy it doesn't make me feel I am about to enter a forest, woods, stepping into the realm of nature. It is an amazing fresh scent, mildly masculine I mean the floral bouquet is very strong and yet not too sweet but the cedar is just beautiful. Overall RMW is a very clean and classy Mature scent and I am wearing it for work, daytime, under the Summer time, this year hasn't been that hot at all and the evenigs are just fresh with lots of cool sea breeze. As many have said before it is more a green scent than woody. As much as i like it is not that soapy as I would like it to be. It also reminds me of Prada Amber pour homme without the soapness, drier. Rocky Mountain Wood is a very pleasant change for me. Just hoping the Silver Wind to be more of an evening scent. Fantastic bottle.

dmarcus1260

I love the look of the bottle, very unique which is why I bought the fragrance. That and I'm an outdoors, nature kind of guy so I thought this fragrance would capture the smell of the Rocky Mountains. Does it? Not to my nose. Where are the fir and pine needle notes? And pepper? Pepper trees do not grow in the Rocky Mountains. The wood note from cedar combined with the violet and pepper sometimes reminds me of the smell of wood that has been infested with termites. That said I sold my bottle last year. Today I am wearing Burberry Touch for Men. As crazy as this may seem, Burberry Touch for Men for some reason reminds me of He Wood Rocky Mountain Wood. Maybe it's not so crazy as both fragrances share violet and pepper notes.

icesoulja555

This is the most unique scent in my collection. I bought it blind after reading some decent reviews. I knew I wanted something He Wood but wasn't sure which of the 4 to go with. I am glad I went with this one first...get longevity and sillage. This is a instant classic for Winter and cooler Fall days. Could be worn during the day or in the evening equally as well. A must in any man's collection living in cooler climates for sure.

ChristopherRiley

An alluring, sexy, modern, cool, trendy moorish scent, which after a while gets a soapy twist..

I applied 6 heavy sprays

0 - 1 hours - 10 inch projection. Now this is a head turner! Its sexy and modern and stands out. Well made and quite clean. I sat back and enjoyed the experience. Just brilliant

1 hours - 5 hours - 4 inch projection. A soapy twist penetrates and gets stronger over time

5 hours - 8 hours 2 inch projection. Strong soapiness

8 - 16 hours. Close to skin but lasts for ages!

Well Cool bottle

Good

3gecos

In my opinion this...this is the perfect combination between violets and wood,i don't find neither one of them overwhelming the other one,a perfect equilibrium. The piper blend in the right amount just to complete this recipe!I find this as the only fragrance that i can overlook the downsides, longevity and projection on my skin!A+ for the idea madame Daphne Bugey!

kambelzful

Nice, subtle peppery woody scent. Not a whole lot interesting I remember from it though. It definitely smelled unique and pleasant though.

darrenx

This is a very natural fragrance. If you bought it you will buy it again and again. It reminds me my past.It seems like you are in a forest walking ad sniffing the nature that human beings are not entered yet.

hossein_gi

when i wear it,i feel walking through mountain covered with snow. it is unique perfume and for all seasons you can use it. but unfortunately it has moderate last longing on my skin(only 4 hours) and after that it's close to your skin. however it's OK.6/10

asmhfdbds

I heard a lot of people saying that it smell natural.
I totally agree , this is the most natural woody smell that i have ever tried.
I will not describe every phase because all are the same , a dry violet and woody smell , that's it . No sweetness here IMO.
This is so much quality fragrance , suitable for spring winter and fall,
And when anyone say " unique " , this is the definition of it.
Wonderful scent , it lacks longevity ( last about 4 hours ) but still amazing.

dancinleroy

This being one of my favorite scents of all time, and the longevity and sillage being dissapointing for me... try Burberry Touch. They have similarities and Touch projects strongly and lasts. They aren't identical but for sure similar enough.

kıvanç.ekinciler

it's a kind of more wearable encre noir. I'm not sure which one is better but both of them are amazing masculines..

ginepro

I gave this for my boyfriend as a surprise. I hadn't even smelled it before i bought in from the internet. But i was positively surprised- violets! And wood! lot's of wood and lot's of violets. I love it.
It's clean, sexy, woody, manly and unique. I love when my boyfriend wears it. When i read about it i immediately tought of my bf since he reminds me of wood, mountains and violets. We have talked about going on a roadtrip and see the Rocky Mountains so... i thought this was a fun thing to give him.
Ok i know, lot's of "him" and "my boyfriend" in this "review".
But anyone who wants to have special someone who smells like dark woods and fresh air (not sporty-fresh, not citrus-fresh) and violet flowers should get it. It's not like one in the row of similar perfumes. I tried it on myself and quite enjoyed it actually, so i think it could easily be a unisex one.

evilspin

NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING like Encre Noir. Wow people have some bad noses out there. Encre Noir along being very unique yet risky has a very dark masculine scent with a smokey black forest mossy touch. This one on the other hand has a fresh cut Cedar wood scent (the kind you put in your closet) with a refreshing sweet nice scent of the violet flower. Think of a rugged lumbar jack cutting wood for your home while wearing Violeta baby cologne in the summer day.

rottannie

This is a sexy clean fragrance. Based on reviews I expected something extremely masculine, but I would totally wear this!

RES2525

Pleasantly surprised by this one. Confident in its masculinity without approaching macho. Does have an 'outdoors' sort of vibe. This is one of the best woodsy colognes I've ever tried. RMW isn't a powerhouse. It has muscle enough to get the job done but it doesn't blast the senses. This is a good quality.

One thing though. It's most likely the violets, or maybe even the lily, but those two notes do get a little grating after awhile. The violets just don't quit. I've read comments from more than a few people getting crosseyed at whatever it is they use these days to represent violets. On me they often become cloying and overly sweet smelling without ceasing. But considering how much I like everything else in the makeup of the cologne I can turn the cheek to this. Just wear it more diffused and not so close to the face.

Longevity is very good. Projection seems just right. Sillage seems more than adequate. Good scores across the board in these areas.

All in all I'd say if you like woodsy colognes and the great outdoors you'll like this stuff. But because of the floral notes mentioned I'd say try before you buy.

Thumbs up!

ComaSaan

I tested this from a big outlet here in Maldives (for people who might be wondering where in the world that place is, it's loctated on the Equator in the Indian Ocean. A very rare chance you might see in on the charts :P) hehe..anyways, i tested it and i fell in love with this one.

It opens to dream woody world, peppery in a musculine way and it dries down to a dreamy sweetness. Close to burberry brit. So i boought a 100ml of this one on the spot.

Been wearing it and i feel great. But the problem for me is, it gets real heavy in our weather. The weather in Maldives is always 31 degrees. We have 2 seasons. Well you can call it all summer. We have all sun and heat for half an year and its all rain for the other half. Its 28 or 25 degrees in the rainy season. This projects well in the colder days. Good in office too.

But, in the heat its heavy and cloying. The sweat doesnt get along with this one. One day my aunt asked me what i was wearing, and i proudly said it was this one. She said it smelled like dirty sweaty/damp pile of clothes. :/

Thereafter, i only spray once on the chest. But still it projects well under my shirt. Hence I managed to empty this bottle in like 5 months :P hehe

So i will give it a 10/10 for the projetion.
Scent 7/10
Good for colder days. Maybe people who experience autumn/winter. Definitely not a summer frag.

Jackfusion

The Rocky Mountain I have a sample here. It is an elegant scent, woody discreet and easy a blind buy. It opens with the gentle tone floral flower violet accompanied by a mild white pepper. These notes are enclosed by a cedar base discreet and very smooth. Its evolution goes to a slightly incensed. I could not feel amber and musk here.

The aroma of cedar me and that typical smell of colonial furniture, something very nice without being strong. Good perfume for the day-to-day, especially for spring and fall days.

DaZeD

Good scent, and the glass bottle in it's dark wooden frame fit's it perfectly aswell, although, it's not very handy to use and the glass bottle sits a little loose in the wooden frame, but i don't think it will fall out though, and it's square, it couldn't be any different :) .

The initial notes remind me of Fahrenheit Absolute and Encre noir, a lot.
But there's some kind of lighter undertone, slightly fresher, but just very subtle, by no means this is a fresh scent, it's heavy, dark, smoky, mature, masculine, and woodsy, but with light undertones.

in the beginning it's very heavy and dark, but after a while wind and air will create a fresh veil of softer cedar and violet notes around the dark and smoky undertones, wich makes it a more versatile perfume then Encre Noir or Fahrenheit Absolute.

Very classy and very good scent!
I love it a lot!

habib.daudi

very unique, man identity scent

vascobgs

Balance, this is what might be called the Rocky Mountain. Perfume woody, floral and incense for those who do not like woody, floral and incense. All these nuances are perfectly balanced. A greater acceptance of perfumes I've ever seen, both men and women.

jaylim87

This is one of my favorite, indeed.
I haven't found any fragrance that smells like this yet. I've used like 2/3 of it already(which was purchased last spring), and I'm definitely buying this again and again.

Very unique one.

for me this is the best from the house of dsquared..!!
Though it lacks in longevity but still it is way too good for the price i paid...I bought two bottles and looking forward to geeting one more before it vanishes...the name suits the fragrance and it may give you a feeling of being in the forests..!! I love it!! I'll give it 8/10

lfmars98

Very good fragrance. It's not a run of the mill designer scent. I get lots of violet, musk, and woods from it on my skin. Great projection and longevity (10+ hours). This is a future buy for me. 9/10.

darrenx

Very good woody perfume from dsquared. The best of the wood series.I also like the original one,but ocean wet wood and silver wind wood are not good enough.

non e' il mio tipo...al primo spruzzo si sente soprattutto l'incenso buono...poi sbiadisce presto:-(

sicuramente adatto in ufficio,di giorno e dopo la rasatura.

I dislike because it didn't live up to my expectations and the hype. It has a couple of nice notes but it's kind of a weak scent. I returned this blind buy.

Until now, the best production of DSQUARED2
Primary odor of burnt wood smell of the forest
And then the aroma of forest flowers are disposed.
Really wonderful and very masculine.

Nice, comfortable and gentle woody scent with low projection and sillage. It could easily be unisex at least for my nose. And it could have better longevity as well.

I
Love
This
Stuff.

Enough Said.

This is Springtime in a bottle. 'Nuff Said.

An absolute gorgeous fragrance that is one of few that truly capture the message and landscape that the designers set out to convey.

When I wear this I am instantly taken to a cool, breezy, cabin, sitting on the porch cleaning sharpening my axe (because I'm a man like that)..while my lungs fill with the gorgeous air formed by mystique of the surrounding mountains, the beauty of the violets and lilies growing by my side, and a woodiness stemming from the cabin grounds.

This is my go-to Spring time signature scent. It reminds me of a peaceful day in the mountains after rain. Opens with a light, slightly sweet, floral scent with woods lingering in the background. The drydown becomes sweeter, with woods dominating and violet and lily mellowed out.

Beautiful, and one of my favorites! This is sure to invoke memories!

7/10

Would have given it an 8, but projection is weak, although longevity is pretty good...8+ hours.

Extremely versatile fragrance, although I keep this for the spring.

Steveg439

Unsual from the other colognes i've tried. I personally don't care for it, smell gives me a huge headache. If your goin for a woody smell this is def the cologne for you. I find the scent sticks with you (even after i've taken a shower). Id suggest not to blind buy... try it out first

kbence

Beautiful scent, but the sillage is very-very weak. Do not blind buy!

dancinleroy

When I first opened this from the package, I couldn't wait to test it out based on all of the positive reviews. I applied one spray on the wrist and it smells amazing! The smell kept for maybe 25-30 minutes before I couldn't notice it anymore which is a major drawback for me. It's longevity is solid although it's projection is very weak, which kind of defeats the longevity. If you are looking for something super subtle, I mean hugging or kissing close to even notice, then it's great but I dont see how anyone could notice it just by walking by them. The scent itself is a mix between cucumber water, incense and cedar. The incense is actually pretty strong in this which I like a lot. It's definitely worth a try if extremely subtle is your thing. Definitely sample first or buy a small bottle.

scent: 9/10

Aside from the unfortunate bottle which i find clumsy and tacky, this one i think is a winner. Ive samples hundreds of woody scents and although not as well done as something like comme des garcons man 2, this is a lot cheaper, last alot longer, and has no off notes that i can find. Very nice, manly, natural smelling. Not over spicy or heavy. sparkling almost

rickyfreaky13

My first woody perfume, n i'm lovin it!!!! Perfect scent for a real man!!!

funnyboy

Love this.I got it for Christmas and it is perfect.
Not too strong but smells to me of a carpenter's shop with a touch of added pencil shavings from a school classroom.
There is a hint of violet and after an hour it mellows down nicely to a perfect skin scent.
Would not offend anyone and I would love it if the product was available in shower gel, deodrant etc as would lov to smell of it all day without re applying.
Mentioned that there is a similarity with this and Burberry touch for men that I also love.
out of 10 a good 9..It will be a fragrance that I use until bottle is empty and not one to put at the back of my collection..

I like the original one better. this makes me headache. too strong!

majorglory

Anyone had a problem with a loose wooden cover/box?

LuckyStar1

Treated myself to this beauty. When I first sprayed this in the store it took me right back to my childhood when I used to hide in my parents wooden airing cupboard. The earthy woodsy smell was just like all those years ago. That split beam dry woodsy scent and watery, flowery scent. Great 10/10 Daft to some but that's what fragrances are to me....memories.

rudolf78

After tried different wood scents this one was the winner but also had ocean wet wood. This one is really for outdoor and sport lovers. Really, Really love the cedar smell in this one. Cedar is my favorite smell in perfumes. Great for me.

vardavas

Same opening as kenzo air (which I love). Middle and base notes are different. This is an excellent vetiver cologne. Only drawback is its longetivity and silage.

zahidyne

This was a love at first scent. Very masculine. The epitome of what is meant by 'woody'. And being rarely found here in Singapore means that it's somewhat unique to me and I get loads of compliments for it. Even in this sunny and very humid tropical weather, the scent lasts long enough.

Detroitcolognereview

Well what can i say?

Here is some advice that if you dont take you will be turned off. DO NOT EVALUATE THIS FRAGRANCE UNTIL AT LEAST 30 MINUTES AFTER YOU SPRAY IT ON YOUR SKIN. It literally smells like water that had wood in it for years!!!

The dry down is so mezmerizing! i Sprayed this on as well as Dior Homme, And Dior Homme Sport. I was expecting to like one of those. What happened is that while driving home i kept getting this whif of a refined clean scent. It was from neither Dior but from this.

I was even happier that i was able to find this cheaply from a wonderful connection on Youtube. I love this one. I just have to have 30 mins to spare before i go somewhere to let it dry.

sourservice

Great, airy, woodsy, noted strong vetiver here. In my opinion it is not dirty scent, light but present. Very masculine indeed. Yes I smell wood, but not from tropical country.

Decent projection, excellent longevity 8+ hours. Better for night use. Highly recommended, but do not blind buy.

stephan

Something is too sweet/cloying in this cologne.
Encre Noir is dryer and much better for me.
Lasting power is great.
Iso E Super is one of the ingredients, I'm sure of that!

gypsy parfumista

Usually when a company does a really nice scent, then flanks it...it is not as good as the original. In the case of HE WOOD Rocky Mountain, I "liked" HE WOOD but absolutely LOVE this one...

It is STILL warm and woody, but here the "forest" is a bit darker, spicier and heavenly! This opens with a nice dry green scent, paired a great peppered floral accord of cool violets and creamy (but not "too" feminine) lilies. The pepper is not strong, but is all around you; rather like a spicy "fog" that rolls in as the sun sets and the moon rises. Where HE Wood was the morning and warming day in the cooler lowland "woods"; Rocky Mountain is an evening in the older forests of the mountains , with night quickly falling. The warmth of amber, with the smoky incense and a cool breezy musk, reminds me of how the day's heat is still held in the trunks of mighty trees; even as the dew begins to fall on the grass. As the moon comes out from behind a cloud, crickets sing as mighty cedars sway in the night air and tall grasses blow...what a scent! This really smells great on my skin, and I may just HAVE TO get a full bottle, and soon! There is a far way (very faint) aroma of nocturnal sensuality here, like you have caught another's scent; and you want to join in the chase. Like the very forest itself wants me to run "wild" in it, and open up to your (often repressed) animal nature. NOT that it smells all that animalic itself; but that it makes you want to be out in the wild sylvan night, to seize it...and LIVE!

Sillage: good
Longevity: above average
Overall: 4.25/5

I do have to say here that when I first smelled this (in the winter time) at a shop, I was not all that impressed. It was very nice, but I went with something thicker, gourmand and spicy. NOW, in these warm end of summer days (and much cooler nights), this scent REALLY comes alive. Perhaps the humidity and heat of the middle of summer made the flowers "wilt" and made the spicy muskiness fade too quickly. I recommend this wholeheartedly for days that are none too hot and nights that are neither balmy nor cold. Unabashedly masculine yet having a softer side, while remaining mysterious, somewhat bold and naughty-this is my kind of scent!!

PSILOVEFRAGRANCES

I'm in love with this one. I just bought it yesterday, so I may have to update this review in the near future, but I have only glowing praise to give RMW. It is floral, it is earthy, and it is woody/spicy. To me it starts woody/peppery, then after only a few minutes the florals emerge radiantly. I can detect the Canadian Lily along with the violet. The woodiness is always there underneath and supporting everything, and the florals just float along in front of the woods, and it's just great. The woody/spicy notes remind me a lot of my Terre d'Hermès, which I also love. I detect the floral accords all the way through the wearing, and I think that part probably projects more than the woods, but we'll see. Normally I wait a few weeks before writing a review, but I was so enthusiastic I couldn't wait! Definitely unique--I have never smelled another men's fragrance like this one. Before I made the purchase I also tried He Wood, but found it too one-dimensional. Nice, but it had that banana-wood smell that others have written about and it was not nearly as nice and complex as Rocky Mountain Wood. Good work, DSQUARED².

A really good, unique male fragrance. The opening is breathtaking woody notes which I can smell even from the next room (when my brother sprays it). Then the pepper and wood slowly calm down and you can smell floral notes, although woody ones are always there. The bottle and packaging are very nice and fit the content. And the thing that I like about it is the absence of citrus notes, which are present in almost any male fragrances out there.
It's not that sort of "glamorous" scent to fit the young party people, but believe me it's 100% masculine and a very, very exclusive perfume.

Аромат шикарный, очень очень стойкий, оформление флакона и упаковки безупречное всё походит на название данного парфюма, советую!!!

A very natural smelling fragrance, where at the beginning we can feel a pleasant woody aroma which through time mixes with some floral notes. Anyway, a subtle and relaxing fragrance. The only thumbs down is that on my skin this one doesn't last.

Perfection in a bottle. If the Gradens ofEden had a smell it would be this. I haven't got a bottle but I soon will. I hear it's heavily under-rated, well good, it means less people semelling like me. [Laughs maniacally]

Tigerlillian

Amazing wet wooded floral scent to open with lily and violet delivering the green, almost metallic mineral vibe in combination with clean, subtle pepper. Musk, incense and radiant amber add some sweetness which enhance the floral notes on my skin without being at all cloying or overt.

As this progresses, the pepper becomes more prominent and camphorous cedar appears, creating a rush of clean, stout woody mountain air.

Personally I find this could be unisex and love it for myself as I really dig those raw, sweet wood notes. And dare I say, this is for me, a more wearable version of Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist. I actually like it much better than She Wood too. I also noticed that even the grey juice is a little viscous so this baby has some real tenacity. So, sorry guys, I won't be passing this sample vial on!

Unreal! Perfect! Mistique!
It smells like sexy man is going through the coniferous wood and when he is out of the wood he starts to eat candy :D
