Tobacolor by Dior is a Amber fragrance for women and men. Tobacolor was launched in 2021. The nose behind this fragrance is François Demachy.

Dior presents Tobacolor in February 2021, a novelty from the luxurious Maison Christian Dior line.

The fragrance name Tobacolor has the ring of a surprising encounter, an invitation to discover the nuances of fresh tobacco tinged with joyful colors. Strong, generous and rich with aromas, the Tobacolor fragrance unfurls a beautifully sensual oriental trail. The bewitching scent evokes travel and freedom.

"I wanted to revisit the classic composition of a 'tobacco' scent by creating a surprising trail around the paradox of a cold hookah. I wrapped the tobacco's characteristic smokiness with sweet, fruity and warm, joyful notes. Tobacolor is as powerful as it is cheery. It is an enveloping, comfortably endearing fragrance,” explains François Demachy, perfumer of the house of Dior.

From the blonde tobacco leaves, to the 'gris' tabacco, and dark tobacco blends… Tobacco, with its rich colors and pungent aromas, has inspired joyful new hues for Tobacolor by Maison Christian Dior. The fragrance opens up like a rainbow of colors and senses: the brown nuances of tobacco and shimmering shades of plum and peach blend with the golden tones of honeyed notes.

Dior Tobacolor is available in 40ml, 125ml and 200ml Eau de Parfum.

for female this is the best tobacco fragrance, for male you can choose stronger tobacco fragrances like naxos

midget11

objectively: 10/10, a really great fragrance that fits the specification for those who WANT a tobacco like this- its syrupy, potent, deep, performs extremely well and sticks to you. very strong and prominent gooey tobacco, amber and honey with smokey edge. like u just smoked a cigar. I'm not a huge dior prive fan but they actually did amazing here

Subjectively i find it a bit too gooey/sticky for myself. It is a challenging or rather “specific” scent and arguably doesnt rank the highest for versatility. Its all the notes as stated but strong, syrupy and ripe, and to me is a bit overwhelming, cloying and sticky - i would say its unisex leaning masculine on the scale but not hyper masculine (like barbershop type). I would enjoy smelling this on a man in the dry down but its alot more challenging for girls to carry this well imo, like ofcourse they can wear it but would I smell this on a girl and think its hot? All scents are unisex but I think a strong tobacco DNA like this is just inherently feels more suited to males, just as barbershoppy stuff - im pretty sure we let the norms evolve this way bc everyone collectively agrees on the “vibes” 😂 maybe im a normie who prefers more mass appealing dry tobacco like jazz club// naxos is the best honey tobacco ive ever smelt imo- it lacks the syrupy/gooey character and is rounded off with florals like lavender so its not super intense tobacco goo and has the “perfumey” edge which this lacks. tobacolor in contrast is a lot more SPECIFIC and niche and not so perfumey or sexy objectively, but the person wearing it, if they fit the aesthetic, would make it sexy. IE you dont wear tobacolor, tobacolor wears you

To like tobacolor u must REALLY enjoy tobacco for what it is and enjoy gooey/syrupiness in perfumery. u will smell like you just smoked a cigar but if thats what you seek then this is 10/10, its bold and radiates “grown but badass” energy, defo not for lil boys

Tobacolor to me is the best take on the honey tobacco DNA. I haven't tried every single honey tobacco fragrance out there, but I sampled Xerjoff Naxos, Guerlain Tobacco Honey, Carolina Hererra Mystery Tobacco, Mugler A*Men Pure Havane, and Kilian Back to Black.
To me Tobacolor had the best tobacco note, as well as the best balance of tobacco and honey.

Tobacolor opens with slightly ashy tobacco, it's not too harsh, it's not synthetic, and it doesn't smell like an ashtray. But it's a sweet, pipe smoke, tobacco openingen, supported by sweet notes, while not being overly sweet. In the opening, the tobacco takes the spotlight, and it's supported by some slightly fruity sweetness. As it dries down a little, the ashy note fades, and the honey note really starts to shine. The opening makes Tobacolor out to be a bit difficult to wear, but as it dries down, it sheds that slightly challenging (but beautiful) opening note, and gives way to a very wearable and a beautiful heart of tobacco leaf and honey.

I don't know how else to describe this fragrance other than "beautiful". If you like tobacco fragrances, and want a wearable tobacco fragrance, this is a great option. And in my opinion, this is the best take on the tobacco honey DNA. Is it the most wearable fragrance out there? No. But notes such as a tobacco and honey aren't the most mainstream notes to begin with. It's a beautiful fragrance for colder seasons, and I've gotten away with wearing it on cooler summer nights as well. I get around 8hrs of longevity, and it has strong projection.

Princess__manatee

This was my Christmas wedding perfume so I am biased, sweet honey tobacco that lasts for days on clothes, the sillage is mammoth - I walked down the aisle and people after wards were complimenting my perfume who were sat all around the orangery, it’s so beautiful and different and gets so many compliments

mihuco1217

A tobacco fragrance that isn't as challenging as other offerings. The opening is a bit challenging in my experience, but the dry down smoothens everything out and becomes very pleasant. I like the plumy tobacco scent. Sometimes I find some Tobacco fragrances to have an astringent quality about it, but this one somehow manages to to tame it down and keep it at an acceptable level. A bit honeyed or syrupy consistency and not overly sweet. Definitely a perfume to make a statement with. I love it, but I will need to gather up the guts to wear something like this because for now it does not feel like something I'd wear.

Mr. Bear

It's definitely very good, but I prefer other sweet/smoky tobacco scents over this. This gives me the same vibe as Back to Black, even though they don't smell super similar.

Brownsugarx78

This is absolutely stunning. The tobacco is sweet while retaining a completely unisex foundation. At first the initial spray is quite potent, but give it a short while and the honey and fruit accords start to come through. When you wear this you can tell this is an expensive scent. This to me has a unique quality and vibe about it. Yes you are going to get a sweet smoky tobacco but nothing like an ashtray at all, it's very luxurious and well rounded. The blend of the fruits gives this a very well rounded balance to the tobacco. I adore this and consider it to be a masterpiece. I think if you have a splash bottle put it in a proper spray bottle as it smells different to dabbing which makes this more tobacco based. The longevity and sillage are enormous. Praise to Dior for creating this, I love it. Suits a man or woman but some men may find it a little more feminine. I wore it the first time out and got women half my age asking me what I was wearing. It's a showstopper, it oozes class.

Towels

I can appreciate that this is a very well made perfume, although I have to say I don't personally like it very much. If you wear this, you have to really enjoy tobacco. This fills a room. I sprayed one spray on a shirt and left the shirt in a room for a couple minutes and it filled the room immediately. Smell still lingered even when I took the shirt out. It is sweet, but not overly so. Compared to the modern designers out there, it's really not over the top with the sweetness. What I notice more is the strong woody tobacco smoke smell. Smells like you just walked out of a hookah lounge. I really want to point out that there is a woodiness in this fragrance for sure. It's not a pure sugary sweetness at all. So you really have to be okay with that woody tobacco thing because that's what's going to stick out. The fruit notes are sort of just going to highlight that and make it stronger.

I suspect people who have an allure toward tobacco or nicotine will like this. It's a very well made fragrance. I can tell. But would I want to smell like this? Most of the time, no. I would not pay the money for the full bottle. But if you like tobacco fragrance, I think you will like this one.

christinebyh

Sweet but interesting and with depth. Predominantly woody tobacco and honey, blended to perfection. Extremely long lasting and the most wearable tobacco and/or smoke scent for women. Sexy, comforting, and alluring. I love this so much. My favourite from this collection.

This is gorgeous on its own, but the magic happens when you start layering this with feminine fragrances that are predominantly floral or fruity. Try pairing it with Burberry Her Elixir. You’re Welcome.

TonyG

This is the most intensely sickly sweet scent ever. Sweet to the point of giving me a headache. And one you have it on, it ain't coming off! I can still smell it on a shirt I wore a week ago. It's a honey and peach hookah BOMB and that's not a good thing. I don't like smokey incense smelling scents and this is 100% that. Think Tobacco Vanille with the potency of Sauvage Elixir with the sweetness of One Million Lucky X1000. It's a shame as it's blended beautifully but is just so damn strong and sweet I can't wear it.

agxtha

Selling my 125ml bottle for £195. I’ve barely used it so hit me up if any of you want a bottle of this 😊

Totally love this fragrance, just don’t find myself reaching out for it as much.

ozymandyias

Most sirupy sweet scent I've experienced. Sirupy from the honey, and sweet from the peach and other fruity notes. As for the tobacco, which piqued my interest in the first place, I personally don't detect any.

CaptainReggie

Hi, how many sprays you do this? Specially in cold weather? Thanks!

MrMrBrian

I bought a 100ml bottle of this after sampling because I like it, But I’ve come to notice I don’t reach for it near as often…It’s is by no means weak! Maybe I should go lighter on the trigger But It gets quite cloying to the point it’s wearing me & Not too sure how to feel about that

chituron

amazing blend between honey and tobacco - smells like a sweet and smoky cigar with a slight hint of fruitiness in the background. truly 10/10

Julia Berry

This is literally a masterpeice.
A very well blended as for the perfume with tobacco notes, on the drydown quite delicate, not irritating tobacco, multilayered. Honey and spices are the most prominent on my skin with a delicate touch of sweetened tobacco. I do not detect the smoky note at all.
Long lasting, remarkable, not overwhelming, adding style and status.
To my nose more wearable and pleasant than Vanllla Diorama . Definately more character compared to Fève Délicieuse.
For all year round use.
Worth of attention.

Tooturntswizz

Tobacolor opens with a rich, sweet treacle that gives way to a smooth tobacco note, placing it among the top tobacco fragrances available today.

It’s a very linear fragrance throughout its long-lasting wear, projecting with impressive strength.

A creamy blend of honey, sweet spices, and vanilla intertwines with the tobacco, creating a gourmet sensation. As it dries down, a hint of smokiness adds depth to this excellently crafted scent.

Anguish

Is it just me that i feel this smells like chocolate flavored cigarrilos, one of my favorite scents for sure

Tobacolor<3

I bought this 2 weeks ago and Absolutely love this it's a tobbaco fruity fragrance that has gotten me many compliments from strangers. I ask my friends what they think and they say a 9-10. Longevity is a solid 10-14 hours on my skin and decent projection

DopeChef

I’ve seen the mixed reviews, however for me. I absolutely love this out of the collection. It reminds me of the time my father used to smoke his tobacco pipe. He used to have flavoured dry tobacco like vanilla, cherry ect. I used to sneak into the cabinet and smell the tobacco pouches. This reminds me of it, fresh tobacco from its pouch. The dry down is a delicious peach smell with a hint of smooth tobacco.

It’s sits well on my skin, I will catch the smell through out the day. On cloths it lasts like two days, I can’t get enough of it. As I mature my niche collection is growing. I can appreciate the more finer frags out there. I wouldn’t recommend blind buying anything from the privee collection without testing them.

I am rating this 100/10 (just because I love the smell and can’t get enough of it)

>Happy Cat<

very sweet smooth tabaco mixed with plum and peach. I find it quite feminine and very pleasant

Christos08

This fragrance goes on and on and on 2 sprays and your good for 48 hours not that anyone needs that but it is so powerful. I bought a huge bottle when I was half drunk one day I took it home and realised it has a very strong amber note this does not fit my style of fragrance at all. I'm not saying it's bad because it's masterfully done it's just not for me if anyone is interested in a full 200ml bottle mail at [email protected] we could do a deal .

thiagovidotto

Amazing performance to the point I was overwhelmed after 12h of applying it.

I went to sleep and could not stop smelling it, which was not great as I was feeling sick after eating spoiled food lol

Beware of how many sprays you apply. I sprayed it 5 times and still smelled it after 48h hours (!!!)

Dmiddy

Literally smells like a hookah lounge. Not for me.

zawwarahmad

This is the best honey tobacco smell produced. My favorite along the Dior line and worth every penny. Very strong silage and longevity. The sweetness resonates to a vanilla almost honey. Starts off with the very warm honey/vanilla with a masculine woody tobacco note. Then a linear dry down from there. Not a complex fragrance, but will definitely get people asking questions. Receives a lot of compliments and i think this is the best it gets. Better than Naxos/pure havane for sure! 10/10! in my top 5 masculine scents.

ginandrice

Tobacco and white florals, drizzled liberally with an entire jar of peach honey. And then set on fire.

TOBACOLOR is extremely sweet, warm, and dense. It opens with the throat-clogging potency of dark golden peach-blossom honey, but as it dries down it takes on a slightly salty smokiness, which helps temper its sweetness into something multifaceted and interesting.

The peach note fades gradually in the dry down, and then it's like standing beside an active smokehouse, eating salted toffee.

Laurus

This did not please me at all. It smelled way too smokey tobacco on me. I was hoping it would have smelled like tobacco like my dad used to roll for himself when I was a kid before he smoked it but it smells more like the cigarettes. I do not get much of the sweetness I had hoped. I dont know, maybe it is my body chemistry.

Ksj_

This is a very sweet tobacco because of the plum and peach notes. It also has a woody facet that makes the overall scent denser and rather enjoyable.

Although...I can't wrap my head around how generic it can smell, but simultaneously smell like a wooden cabin that has cigar smoke lingering around.

Side note:

I asked someone to rate this fragrance out of 10 whilst wearing it, and they scored it a 7. I would have to agree and maybe give it a 7.5. It's a lovely scent, but I couldn't imagine paying over $300 for it.

TupacAmaruShakur

This is Dior Sauvage Elixirs big brother, this is powerful.

If you wanna walk in to a room and make a statement then Tobacolor is the one to wear.

PhysicsGuy13

If you don’t like sweet tobacco scents, then this is not the fragrance for you. It is very sweet and lasts forever, so it is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a tobacco fragrance with honey and fruits. I was lucky and bought a big bottle before the prices went up. Really glad I bought this one.

3lisantos

i just received mine today and it is VERY SWEET if you’re not much of a sweet scent person i’d recommend to sample it first. it is a very chocolate/tobacco smell and it lasts a long long time, very sweet and elegant smell PLEASE SAMPLE FIRST 😂

Creamy_ambrette

Oh my god! Wow! The honey note in the opening is addictive! Then I experience a sweet umami peach that becomes infused with tobacco and amber as it dries down.
The citrus brings the right amount of tartness that makes me want to eat my arm!
If you bought a bottle and dont use it or don’t like it- please dm me! I’d love the 40 Ml but any partial bottle I’ll take! I can only find the 200 Ml and I have a huge collection but I might save up and get a huge bottle

Apeto86

I just love Tobacolor. It has made its way into my top 10 of all time among the over 200 bottles I used over the past decades. It. is very smokey and the tobacco small is so strong. It is not for everyone so not the one to blind buy. So I suggest you test it on the skin and leave it for almost a day before you make up your mind.

Vapidcucumber

I Don’t like tobacco scents but this smells incredible! I was told by the Dior Advisor that the perfumer travelled to the Middle-East, and the scent was inspired by the shisha parlours over there- and I can certainly smell that. It’s very sweet and smokey, but not in a harsh way. It’s more like if you took honey and put it some tobacco leaves- this scent lasts me all day and has become my signature scent. You must try this

aaronmilic

Looks like it's already been said but I'll confirm...

I have a bottle of Tobacolor and a back up bottle but I also bought Tabac from Maison Alhambra and it is identical. So if you're having trouble finding the original or don't want to pay full price, Tabac is the way to go. I've never come across a more exact clone ever, including in the performance.

iszzieanna

I remember the first time I tried this. I was impressed by its strength and potent ness. Honeyed, sweetened chocolate-tobacco. It was fruity, tobacco forward and I was shocked by the honey. Over a year later after I tried it, it was more like a hookah smoke. With sweetness and less honey.

It’s still delicious. I’m met with a wet and hefty tobacco leaf at the opening with lots of sweet smoke. The dark chocolate and honey play a game of which note can stand out more. Boozy, smokey and addictive are the words that come to mind. I cannot get enough of this stuff

TwoWheelAUS

I was expecting to love this fragrance based on the notes, surprisingly I think it's just okay. Pros: the performance is great, the note breakdown is accurate, the quality of the fragrance is fantastic.

Main issue: honey. I've never experienced a honey note in a fragrance before, it's very realistic here and strong. It fights with the tobacco. Personally I don't like it, it's strange smelling like I've dripped honey on my skin.

There are many fragrances with this sweet, tobacco, amber profile which I prefer. This is not one I'd choose to buy a full bottle of. I've enjoyed the decant though and the honey note has been interesting to experience.

yuvahl

this is a contender for my favorite fragrance of all time
found out about this fragrance really not too long ago and the moment i smelled it i just knew i had to get a bottle of this stuff

sweet tobacco. i love tobacco fragrances in general and this one may just be the best i ever smelled

besides that the performance is immaculate and with just two sprays on my neck the whole room can smell me 6 hours after spraying and the fragrance itself lasts for more than 16 hours.

beautiful, strong and sweet.

in my opinion considering how strong this fragrance really is the price itself is really justified and if you are interested in buying it i think this is a purchase of great value

ThatMakesScents

Can anyone please tell me if this has been reformulated yet since last year ? I purchased a bottle last summer and feel like purchasing it again. Just doing my research before hand.

Thanks

Moedalloul

If anyone is here about maison alhambra tabac, well if this smells like tabac, then this smells like azzaro pour homme with an added realistic honey note. It's good but not for everyone
Smells a bit dated to me

eaudemale

This is not the type of perfume that I like or would buy but I couldn’t stop sniffing my hand. If tobacco and sweet notes are your thing, tobacco being the strongest, get thisssss

StunningSamuel

At the first this reminded me a ton of Black XS as they both share this sweet fruitiness, but this as a whole is a different beast. It adds tobacco, not the loud obnoxious tobacco, but a solid, confident, kept-to-itself tobacco. I say this solves Black XS problems by not smelling like 2006, performans WAY better, and is, of course, not discontinued. A good, timeless, gentle, and unique fragance, definitely worth a try!

Brian Harkema

pretty sure my skin doesn't like it, it's so ridiculously sweet on me, but very radiant

burak37

like it or not It's a head turner for sure . I love it.
sweet fruity smokey tobacco. Don't know anything similar.

cmoneymontana

Save yourself the money and get Maison Alhambra Tabac. I put them side by side and you can not tell the difference.

GG_scent

I try a lot MCD perfume (ambre nuit, gris ,feve delicious etc) but this one got my attention the most.
On my skin it's like Umeshu with tobacco blend in together really nice job from the perfumer. Buy it right away from the 1st try.
Don't overlook this one if you're tobacco lover not many mention this treasure.

perfumejunkie77

Gosh. This made my eyes roll back into my head. What a fragrance. Dry tobacco leaves with a sweet caramel note. So well done. Quality ingredients. The dry down is dusty and enveloping. The whole experience was enjoyable. I highly recommend it if you're a tobacco perfume lover.

shamsahasher

This is a winter scent for sure, sprayed on a hot summer day will make you hate it. This is a sickly sweet fragrance, layered beautifully with smoky and tobacco notes. This scent has surprised me, I often avoid sweet scents but I am quite fond of it.

nicetosmellyou

So I just revisited this scent after a few months and it's even worse than I remembered it to be. There's something really off putting about this. The scent has this very pungent smoky tobacco with sickly, cloyingly sweet honey. Not a good honey like in Naxos. Smells hipstery, plasticky, synthetic. Really weird and off putting. It's like an AI was asked to create a sweet seductive fragrance but failed miserably. Like an experiment gone wrong.

Think of a cozy fragrance. Tobacolor is the exact opposite to a cozy fragrance. It smells like a really bad experience. Like walking in a dark alley in a shady area smelling something sweet and then off putting cigarette smoke from shady people smoking on the corner, making you feel uncomfortable and unsafe. My bottom line is that Tobacolor isn’t comforting by any means. One of the worst scents I have ever tried.

The only redeeming quality about this stuff is its performance; it's nuclear. So if you like it, more power to you. Just stay out of a 50 meter radius from me.

Maya lilac

Tobacolor is a very rich, sweet, dense, ambery, honeyed tobacco and slightly smoky scent. But it’s not just that: it has fruity notes and some citrusy, it’s very complex. Nearly a gourmand!

I personally love it and find it very unisex. Not at all masculine in my experience, I would wear it.

It’s very long lasting and very intense smelling and perfect for fall.

vaninavanini

Lush chocolate praline with cognac ganache that burns your lips as you take a bite.

zefragrancec

a sweet fruity plum tobacco scent but its pretty mid tbh

spaceybailey

It’s Jack Skellington, casually sitting at a bar wearing his vintage Dior black pinstripes suit. His crystal bat collar shining bright under dim lights. Ordering his favorite, peach bourbon neat. Eating candy corns while smoking an Arturo Fuente. He’s not much into fruity scents, even though people may think that, just because he’s Pumpkin King of Halloween Town.

Peach bourbon, candy corns and a Hemingway cigar. Boozy, smoky and pleasantly sweet. Literally. A very bold unintentional creation that mellows down to a bourbon neat with marshmallow notes and lingering smoke… Sophisticated just like him. It’s The Nightmare before Christmas. Santa could even wear it. May I remind you, they are now great friends. That get together for a couple drinks every now and then.

“Oh, there's an empty place in my bones, that calls out for something unknown.” It’s this perfume, refined, intoxicating, out of this world and into Tim Burtons. Longevity is up to par. Perfect for fall, best if worn at night and even better in cold weather. I would consider it quite masculine but my boyfriend also loves it on me. Very sexy. BISOUS

ivaylops

A more refined and polished version of 18.21 Man Made Sweet Tobacco Spirits. Maybe I was expecting a lot more from Dior and Demachy, but it's underwhelming.

Printeza7

Sweet, sexy, luxurious! I adore this but be aware this is an extremely strong and powerful juice don't over spray! Lasts for ages! A 10 from me :-)

profesorahb

My first impression of this decant was just two words: cigarettes NO. I still get a hit of that on first applying it, but boy does this quickly turn into something beautiful.

I'm recovering from covid anosmia, which is what let me appreciate the beauty of this scent. I couldn't perceive the cigarette-y touch for a few days, and that let me get to the spicy, smoky, fruity, sweet middle and base notes.

Now that I'm mostly back to my regular sense of smell, the cigarette-y top note is back. However, the drydown is alllllllllllllmost worth it (the price is what puts it back in the not buying this pile of decants).

I'm now on the hunt for Tobacolor but without the cigarette-y opening and/or for a more reasonable price for my fragrance wardrobe.

mustlovetravelanddogs

I seriously wore it in a humid, tropical, 30 degrees plus climate and it was mesmerizingly gorgeous! Super vibrant, bold, wonderfully blended ambery masterpiece. I don't smell the tobacco, neither do I smell honey, thankfully, as I am not a fan of it, but the deepness and intensity of burned sugary notes with some fruity nuances really makes me go crazy every time I put it on! And it diffuses wonderfully!

Mizmonsta

This is wildly sweet andthick. Not a bad scent, but really thick on sweetness. The honey comes through really heavy to me. Reminds me of a bond no 9 I think it was nomad except it had oud in it and this one doesn’t. I wanna try it in the winter and see how that works but it’s feeling a bit too heavy for my taste in the random sampling I’ve sprayed at home

Yalcin05

I sold it because it’s borderline sweet.. like someone burned a lots of sugar inside the house, and while doing that hè or she is smoking a nasty big cheap cigar.. yes cheap, as the tobacco is way to sharp and screechy to balance the sweetness. It smells like a messed up situation…

Can’t think about using this.. and imagine I’m a crazy addict of sweet tobaccos. If you like krnlove tobacco do not blind buy this but test it for sure!!

yanitsvet

Do not blind-buy this perfume, test it first!! This heavy, sickly sweet, tobacco-like smell haunted me for hours... I wouldn't want anyone around me to smell like that. It's definitely not a summer perfume and it's more suitable for men than for women.

Myrtillajus

Tobacolor is a beautiful tobacco fragrance. Sweet, fruity, truly lively and elegant.
A fragrance that I would wear with extreme pleasure, it’s decisive but is distinct at the same time.
On my wrist the tobacco is barely noticeable, sweetened by the honey and made lively by the plum, the peach and citrus fruits only give a lively touch at the end.
In my the wishlist because in my opinion it deserves to be in the collection, I will really gladly wear it, perhaps in the cooler seasons.
The very famous "Ceci, n'est pas une pipe" by Magritte.

Enikom2

I got a sample of this the other day and sprayed it right away. The first sniff was like wow Im in love…the sweetness and the smoke, its like magic. …then after an hour or so it started bothering me. Not sure why. I think it is more of a cold weather scent, will sleep on it and try again in a few months when the air cools down for fall. Its decinitely not a blind buy, try before committing. Very interesting, unique scent, but may not suit all.

****update

Im officially obsessed with this scent!! It shines in cooler weather and a little goes a long way! The smoky, ambery sweetness is amazing on the skin! Im a woman and love wearing this thing! Someone here said they couldn’t imagine this on a female but dont listen, it is mindblowing! I can’t buy a full bottle right now but if anyone has a spare let me know!!

elight_l

An intriguing scent. Honey tobacco, yes, but there is more, a spice or mix of spices, maybe oregano, rosemary and funnel seeds. For a green tabacco and a touch of similarity, try Tabarome by Creed.

drakelito

Tried this for the first time today and love it, it's like Oud for Greatness, which is funny no one mentions at all.
But this is rounder and honestly better, lasts super long.

One spray on my wrist and even after a shower I can smell it when I'm sitting on my computer.

No doubt I'll buy a bottle of this in the future.

whiteflowerranger

Seriously good and tasteful. This is what DG The One was supposed to be
Another Francois Demachy masterpiece

pedroquadros

Just got one this week, and first wore it today. It opens up with a smooth tobacco and wild honey, it is really a wild type not syrupy synthetic but after this opening the honey becomes more sweet and the fruits make everything sweeter, there’s a smoky thing going on that counterbalances it a bit but overall I get sweet tobacco, it’s addictive. Performance is outstanding it stays on skin for 12h even if u shower and projection is not enormous but it works. My favorite from the dior private collection, nicely done

Abracadravra

I have sample of Maison Alhambra Tabac, it is really smell like honey peach plum cigaratte , very sweet flavored cigaratte that for woman to smoke.

CHESTDAYBABY

this is so enjoyable.

elegant yet badass.

complexity done right, with gorgeous tobacco backed by the perfect amount of sweetness and resinous qualities.

Tobacolor
(2K01, 2022, USD 200 for 190 ml.)

I finally got my hands on Tobacolor.
I think it is beautiful enough.

Wild Honey + Oriental Tobacco.
Really get me going.

Score 8/10
Longevity : TBA
Projection : TBA
Classification : Masculine
Summary : Wild Honey + Oriental Tobacco, good for Tobacco lover
=====
Tobacolor
(2 ml. Veil test)

Tobacolor is sweet tobacco scent, you may easily ignore as this is from classic Honey-Tobacco family.
However, I find Tobacolor rendition is slight difference in very enjoyable way.

Tobacolor is beautiful goovy amber scent remind me of Grand Soir by MFK
with sweetness of fruit and tobacco here is more ashy than Fresh tobacco
and it is stay linear and transitioning into more powdery side.

I pass my hand to few of my friend and they mention it is appearing and reminds then of body lotion smell
instead of hot burning tobacco.

The opening can turn you off as this can reminds you of Plum hard candy but when it is settled down.
I think you received rewards as Honeyed Ambery Sweet Tobacco.

Projection is moderate in softer silage as usual fragrance from Maison Christian Dior.
Longevity is fairy strong as I stay out in the sun but the scent is not gone off my skin.

I find this unisex, but it is masculine leaning as personal association of Tobacco to male smoker.

8/10 - I am consider buying full bottle.

Edit 1 on August 21, 2023
After round consideration, I don't think I will buy full bottle of Tobacolor
I love Tobacco fragrance but I don't think I will reach that often.

Unless I got a great deal. I will not go Full Bottle.

Verdict as of current: Not full bottle worthy.

Une Belle Prunelle

Extremely potent. Do not smell this on your skin. In the air it leaves a very pleasing scent. Performance is nuclear.

Orangeboom999

Can be cloying in the wrong circumstances. Definately be careful in warm weather

SNKIOP

Fall Winter Sent: 6/10 Sweet peach and honey in the opening, some tobacco in the background. The tobacco becomes more prominent in the background but the sweetness of the honey rounds it off the harshness from the tobacco. It's a nice scent, pretty mature imo. The tobacco becomes more prominent and the sweetness of the honey and peach disappeares instead it becomes smokey. For me the opening is the best part. Silage 4,5/10 Longevity 6,5/10

yacoco

Harsh smoked honey

Seth-04

Sickly sweet honey with very little tobacco. It’s not horrible but definitely not something I will ever wear

Oud+Cards

Amazing, but it is in deed overpriced. If it was 100ml for 180-200 It would be totally worth it.
I'll say this is a peachy, caramellike and smoke scent. The most realistic smoke/burnt representation I've ever smelled.
As a note, it reminds me of the taste of fruity (peach, red fruits, plum?) vape smoke (those electronic cigarettes).
INDEED, smells middle eastern, but just a slight bit.
An 8/10, the tobacco is not that straight forward.

xillage

Syrupy sweet, honey and plum overpowers everything. Very little smokey and tobacco is nowhere to be found. Overall its a sweet loud fragrance.

Go4buck

@TheEclecticNose ok, give it away, if you are that scared of wearing this incredible perfume. I wore Oud for Glory in 22 degrees and I loved it.

RhettB27

This one is masculine to me, and I don’t think a women could pull it off. The honeyed tobacco is enveloped in this musty/smokey accord. I enjoy it actually and can’t think of a more appropriate campfire scent, it’s like a non-gourmand YSL Babycat with tobacco in place of the gourmand facets, but definitely a smokiness that is shared. Little memoirs of a Tresspasser from Imaginary Authors in there too from that distinct smokey note. I really really like this but definitely a try before you buy fragrance…has a maturity to it and is quite an unapologetic tobacco that is rounded off and well balanced with the honey-plum-spice layers but I can see others not thinking the same.

Riceasnice

Smells like opening a fresh packet of Benson and Hedges gold. Reminds me of bunking off school 20 years ago. Great times. Not sure I'd want to smell like that, but I can't help but have a sniff whenever I'm in Harrods.

ShaunMichael

This is pretty darn gorgeous. I love the fruity notes. This is def not a “tobacco” forward scent.

emil1724

Accidentally sprayed my fingers and now I stink off unsmooth harsh tobacco and nauseating honey. I will never try this one again

AromaticAdam

One of the best rich and deep fragrances I’ve ever smelled. Would highly recommend to a confident man who likes to smell delicious and powerful. Very attracting and powerful performance, very unique. 9.5/10

stitcherista

Layers of scent! The opening is bright and exciting, the middle is fruity and warm, but the end (in this case, how I perceive it the next morning) is dry ashes. Bombastic silage, go easy on the sprays. I used a 2ml sample, one spray on each wrist, while testing and it's quiet enough that other people didn't notice, but I certainly did. For HOURS.

Sweet, fruity tobacco (love!) and ashes (ehhhh, do not love). This is warm, cozy, and pleasing if you like the smell of good tobacco. I don't smoke, but I grew up with the smell of my dad's cigars (and cigar boxes for my toys), so this makes me happy. Layers well with others in the Dior Privee line, especially Feve D, Ambre Nuit, etc. that are in that warm and seductive style.

Try before you buy. I'm testing this on a cold, spring week and enjoying it enough that I'll order a 40ml bottle. I don't expect to wear it enough to spend a ridiculous amount on a larger bottle, since a little goes a long way. Like, wtf Dior? Aren't you making enough profit already? Why raise your prices so much?

Ty/dc

As others have mentioned, this is an extremely sweet scent!! It has great performance too which kinda makes it worse as it’s an unrelenting assault to your sense of smell for the duration of the fragrance.

I can see why it may appeal to some, it’s well blended & the quality is there but it’s just too much for me. Definitely sample before you buy even if the notes look appealing to you.

Tshahb

Everyone seems to find this too sweet, but isn't that what you want with a scent of this nature? I do!

The sweetness gives an overall gourmand feel, a sort of honey-tobacco tiramisu... delicious. Despite the honey being very strong, it's more syrup than realistic medicinal honey, giving a sumptuous, gooey sort of glaze all around.

This is strong but not loud, although I must say it creeps up on you over the first hour.

I'm very glad there's no vanilla, as its been done so many times. And by the way, if you want a super sweet shouty tobacco go for TF Tobacco Vanille, which is very obnoxious (although I do like it). This is classier, richer and more unashamedly opulent.

It's a love for me.

wowoweee

sickly sweet tobacco fragrance. if you are averse to the smell of hookah, DO NOT WEAR THIS! similar to shisha, this stuff made me want to throw up. an instant wash off for shisha haters like myself.

ōyiss

If you’re going to try this, I encourage that you wear it and experience it in the air. Up close I didn’t like this. On a tester strip this is sweet, almost sickly. However, I wore this today when it was a little cooler outside and I really enjoyed what I could detect in the air around me. In the air this is softer, less sweet and some of the darker elements are more apparent. There’s an underlying fruitiness that is really nice. I think this might be on my list to buy for winter.

Bellini84

Am currently trying a sample.First spray was a definite no ! Awful strong smell of tobacco which was way too much.Over the next hour it became reminiscent of my banking days when the doors would close 3.30 and all the smokers would light up then rush upstairs and spray themselves with fragrance thinking the smell of tobacco would be hidden.Gradually this fragrance gave way to sweet and smokey and just can't stop smelling my wrist.Maybe its addictive ha ha however my husband and daughter HATE it on me.I did enjoy the sample but to buy I would have to enjoy every moment of the journey.Guess its the marmite of the fragrance world.

RegalKitten

This to me is so VILE I regret even having bought just a decant. It is pungent like they say in the description and dirty-smelling like wet ash and that stench is so powerful I get none of the fruitiness. I can smell some of the sweetness but nothing pleasant. The tobacco here is done really badly and makes me think of stale cigarette smoke and cheap Christmas air "freshener" infused wallpaper in an old house with water damage. It is so overpowering and doesn't even come off with a shower. I guess I'm in the minority with my hatred of this perfume.

rizasman

It smells rich and sweet.Don’t decide quickly wait a little because it’s getting better and better.I like it.At first spray it reminded me Black Phantom but this is way better than it.Sweeter and more likeable after 5-10 minutes.

aaronmy

Very sweet. Sweet like 1 Million. This has a plum note that I do not like so much and this is a very strong fragrance that goes quite far. The honey note is very pleasant and similar to Naxos, the tobacco isn't very pronounced but rather blended very well to give this a sweet cigar type of scent. Only, this type of scent I do not like so much. This lasts long and I get a full day of wear with this, but this isn't for me. It's worth a sniff.

Smelly Dan

OMG this is magical. Sweet smoky super long lasting.

OtherHBT

This is a crazy fragrance. On one hand you have a person sitting and smoking a heavily loaded pipe, and one the other hand you have person eating honey out of a bottle. I could not figure out what is going one. If (and only if) that is your vibe, you might like it :)

EmJay87

So much honey. TOO much honey.

I tried this before Naxos and I was worried that honey was a note I didn't like in fragrances, but after wearing Naxos I realised that I do like honey, but it's SO strong in Tobacolor that it makes the fragrances 50% intriguing and 50% repulsive. And coupled with the other sweet notes, it is just a BOMB of sweetness that made me wash it off. I've tested and worn it 2 or 3 times to give it a shot, but every single time I scrub it off.

It performs well and projects, but its so sickly sweet that it will 100% be divisive to those around you. There are people around you who will like it, but there are for sure people around you who won't be able to stand anywhere near you or even be in the same room.

It's a shame, because all that's necessary to possibly make this a good scent it to tone down the honey and let the other notes play a little. But the honey is so strong that you have to "smell through" the honey to get to the others.

It's not a fragrance that is overall drizzled with honey. Every note was drizzled with honey individually, and then when they were blended, it was once again dipped in honey.

Test first before buying! Not blind buy safe at all.

JCORRN

The honey note in this is what I smell the most. It smells rich and sophisticated and I love it so much.

jelesveuxperpétuer

"So sweet!" were my first three exclamations on encountering Tobacolor. As the scent settled, so did my nerves; I heard my companion say through the haze, "Shisha," and succumbed again to my wrist—yes, he was right, but now I was being bathed with honey, and I spent the rest of the meal darting behind my arm for more, the sweet smoke and the single overripe plum. Maddening.

A similar loop binds me to Un Bois Vanille, but there's something wholesome about Un Bois Vanille.

"The perfect type of a perfect pleasure," too much of a good thing.

Winther

Never in my life have I experienced a fragrance as strong as this. I mean Jesus. I went to a Dior boutique and got 2 sprays on my hand and a tester card that I put in my pocket. And it was as like like 10 sprays of Sauvage and it didn’t let up. I washed my hands several times and it was still as strong as when I put it on. Only now, 10 hours and 10 scrubbing of the hand later is it a skin scent. You really get your moneys worth out of this. As for the smell, it’s very sweet. Reminds me a bit of “Oud for happiness”, but sweeter and STRONGER. This is a beast.

lmnsvgz

The tobacco here doesn't smell like piss. It's actually quite dry, even smoky in a way. The honey is sweet but not cloying. For such a combination of notes this smells quite incredible and smooth, extremely sophisticated. It is a heavy scent, but it is not hard to wear.

Le Chypriote

Man. This is bombastic. I was caught off guard while testing this at the store.

Have you ever taken the foil from a pack of cigarettes, and smelled the paper? Take that scent, and amplify it. That's what the opening smells like. Slightly sticky, almost resinous, and leather-like tobacco leaves.
Now thicken the aroma with incense and sweeten the background with plum and honey, while Iso E Super plays peek-a-boo all the way into the dry-down.

That's what I get with this composition. It is austere and commands attention. It's not a soft, inviting scent; this is one to be worn by those who confidently know and understand. Those who are familiar and comfortable with pure tobacco will appreciate Tobacolor.
This is a unique olfactory statement.

michael.oliver

Absolutely LOVE this. Tried it at Harrods at the weekend and instant love at first sight. If anyone has his and doesn't like it, as it is quite polarizing, I am open to trades for this.

Kizzyb93

This was recommended to me by a few people on here lately and a soon as I see the notes I had to have it I must say i had never heard of this before and was intrigued by the notes ….
This truly is a Smokey, sweet, woody, masterpiece although I have not worn this much , this is one, I am truly happy to have in my little collection

caboramer

This takes time to understand but once you do its addictive. The smokey, Honey incensey tobacco scents are blended perfectly. I can't stop smelling my arms. its not however a date night scent, but more of a personal scent, or something to wear with friends when playing cards, or maybe just having drinks in a lounge, it could be a Movie scent with the same people you smoke and drink with. The tobacco smell may offend those who don't like that type of smell. but the Honey and plum make it a sweet tobacco which makes it somewhat sophisticated and interesting. Its similar to Herod, only istead of vanilla you get Honey and plum. I love it. I can't see women pulling this one of, i see it as mainly a mans scent. due to the tobacco.

Old_SnakeTwitch

Montreal smoked meat sitting in week old ashtray butts

Update: It's basically my favourite thing along with angel's share.
If you've never been a smoker you may not like this.
It smells like a fruity honey that's been over-smoked with burning tobacco.
If you're an ex smoker watch out because it may cause cravings like it does in my case.
However I just love this scent. Alot. Very alot. Like It's really good and stuff.
Ya

ReflectionMan48

Tobacco is one of my favorite notes in perfumery but this one just didn't do it for me. There's a dirty ashiness to the tobacco that I find really close to the smell of cigarette ashes lingering in a dirty ashtray. Not a fan of that. They add a lot of sweetness to the fragrance in order to balance it out with the honey and plum but the ashiness just turns me off completely.

Good fragrance, good quality but not for me.

Lukasssss

Nothing short of a 10/10 for me. It is currently my favorite fragrance.
The first spray really caught me off guard. It was smokier/ashier than I thought it was going to be. Very loud and bold. I was instantly reminded of what a Hookah lounge smells like.
This is what I have been looking for in a tobacco fragrance. I have tried and sampled a lot of different ones and many of them were great, but Tobacolor just takes the whole cake for me. I can´t stop sniffing it, it blows me away every time.
It manages to portray both cold and warmth together with sweetness and ashiness: cold hookah water with burning ashy charcoal and sweet, fruity, and fresh shisha paste.
I can imagine that it is polarizing, but if you enjoy tobacco fragrances you owe yourself to sample it. It is a different type of tobacco scent with no boring vanilla or tonka.
Very unique and extremely well made. Performance is grotesque, I can still smell it on my skin after ~20 hours and it stays on clothes for many days. Never go over 2 sprays. The batch code of my bottle is 0M01, so a 2020 batch.
Edit: I have now smelled two different batches of Tobacolor and I have to say that there is a difference. I have a bottle of an older batch and a decant from a newer batch. The older batch has darker juice and is more smoky, while the newer batch has a lighter color with a stronger honey smell.

ularewolf

This smells like one of those indie fragrances you’d pay $50 or less for. This is not a compliment, to be honest. I have definitely smelled this before and I would expect more from a company that has billions of dollars at its disposal to source ingredients for its high end line.

Big pass.

Taleb

Same as Boadicea's Iceni and Clive Christians E for Men...albeit with smoke. Smokey Goey.

Enrium

Tobacolor is a masterfully composed sweet tobacco scent, smoky and honeyed in equal measure, featuring a sweet, rich amber base. I chose a small selection of decants from Dior's haute parfumerie line, as they are not available instore here in Ireland, and I have loved both Fève Délicieuse and this so far. With regard to Tobacolor, it was the delightful name that caught my attention initially, and the combination of notes piqued my interest further. I recently tested and loved Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille, but Tobacolor is a very different take on sweet tobacco. The aforementioned TV featured dry, powdery vanilla in place of the rich, honeyed amber of the more balsamic Tobacolor. I really like both.

Tobacolor opens with smoky tobacco from initial spray, tempered almost instantly by rich, nectar-like peach notes and boozy plum. I get jammy dates in there too. The fruity notes of the opening pave the way seamlessly to the rich honey note that sweetens the amber base to perfection. The amber accord is rich and balsamic, developing slowly in the background as the scent progresses. I get myrrh in there too. The tobacco note slowly subsides, letting the amber take centre stage as it dries down. The smokiness balances the sweetness to perfection throughout. It fades to a balsamic amber skin scent with a whisper of smoke. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting.

Tobacolor is perfectly unisex in my opinion, despite the balsamic, honeyed sweetness. A decadent autumn/winter evening scent, this is a beautiful perfume to wear at Christmas. Opulent and beautifully composed, this is worth the price tag. 4.5/5.

Ba2siK

It's a bit too sweet for me.

iszzieanna

Trying this out at Holts was such a treat. I haven’t had high expectations from the Maison Dior line because of all the reformulations and they just didn’t attract me in general. I tried Tobacolor on a whim and wow this packs a punch. Deep, smokey and honeyed tobacco with a boozy plum note. I almost could smell a honeyed myrrh, dates and chocolate as well. This is such a wonderful holiday and fall-winter fragrance. It’s quite well done. However, I’d find it hard to wear. It’s quite smokey and a little too sweet.

r0tten-com

I just learned that I hate how honey smells because it somehow reminds me of piss. But this, God, this is a masterpiece.

josephineds

really interesting!!! the tabacco is done really well in here without being too disruptive, it's nice!! I'm not sure I can pull it off

Squishyy

‘Tobacolor’ is the perfect name for this perfume. Prominent tobacco notes, with some sweetness colouring in the edges. The last review nailed it—hard to get anosmic to this. FYI, despite being a honey-tobacco, this smells nothing like Naxos.

The closer my nose is to the skin, the smokier this feels. The sweetness level works in reverse. Even though it’s a very different composition as a whole, this has a strong resemblance in the air to Mancera Instant Crush. I’d say about 50%. Both are strong in performance, but Tobacolor isn’t sacrificing any quality to get there. For this style, it’s a solid offering.

It would be amazing to smell this on someone passing by, but it isn’t something I would enjoy on myself all day. I like it, but it doesn’t wow me.

Child Chemist

Somehow, Tobacolor manages to be sweeter than Ambre Nuit. The name clicked once I wore it: This is in fact a colorful tobacco fragrance–not for the colorblind. I immediately pictured a rainbow of warm tones when I smelled it, like fall leaves. The use of different tobacco notes prevents anosmia, allowing you to re-experience the tobacco over and over. Kaleidoscopic!

Brooklynjade

Dense, syrupy honey mingled with a sexy, wet, smoky tobacco. Something fruity and sweet sits right in the background. Great lasting power and projection. Probably best in the cold/cooler months, could get cloying in heat. Leans 90% unisex to 10% masculine to my nose. So pleasant to wear and smell. If you can afford it, this is an absolute buy.

cherubi rubi

Not sure what I received from the decanter shop (F.L.), but it was terrible.

This smelled nothing like anyone described or the description from the perfumer.

It smelled medicinal like iodine or bandaids. It was good of the decanter to refund me for this sample.

0/10-if this is really it

mo choudhury

oh wow. okay. looks like Dior needs to make more tobacco based fragrances because they seem to know what they doing with that note.
just like how Dior knows what they doing when it comes to the iris note.
but the thing is, it's not Dior who knew what they were doing.
it was demachy and he's gone. 😩
still waiting for MFK to release something, apart from of course the three re release he did with the trilogy set.

Clauder13

This one was too sweet for me and a bit cloying but smells good.
I know that the notes look good but I suggest to try before buying unless you like sickly sweet fragrances.

derby2169

Very nice, a part of the sweet honeyed yet smoky interpretations of tobacco, a fantasy version of tobacco, with rich incense and intense spiciness emulating the smell of burning tobacco, while a rich bed of tonka, some vanilla honey and fruity notes represent the sweet and pungent tobacco leaves.

That being said it has a lot of competition in the genre, and Tobacolor has to my nose a certain sticky heftiness to it that needs to be tolerated. It's the sticky waxy honey and dense incense which has the potential of smothering you, and after wearing it for many hours I felt somewhat fatigued. I imagine wearing it around others may induce a similar effect.
Before splurging on it, considering the ridiculous price, see DIptyque Volute too, which is commonly slept on, it is only distantly related to Tobacolor, but it is still my favorite 'fantasy' interpretation of tobacco out there.

Underworlds

Something about this fragrance smells absolutely dangerous lol.
I'm serious, it makes you feel like a source of burning desire amongst the people around you. Like you are a radiant cigarette cherry amongst the people who are like fuel to your flames, ready to pour themselves on you.

Succulent and Dangerous. Like Forbidden fruit.

TonyG

I would really like this frag, if it’s wasn’t SO GOF DAMN SWEEEEETTTTT!! It’s ridiculously strong and insanely sweet that it just wrecks every positive thing about it. It would have been beautiful if they turned it down from 100 to about 40. It’s sweet to the point of being sickly. It’s pleasant when it dries down, but you need to get past the insane level of strength this has in order to enjoy it. And for gods sake don’t overspray or you will clear any room you’re in quicker than a rank fart in an elevator w paired with a bomb threat.

Warmind77

Fragrances like this are the reason I fell in love with perfumery.

This is weird, intriguing, polarising and wonderful. This is a fragrance with character for people with character, this is not a blue bottle freshie or something made for the sole purpose of being perfectly pleasant; it's a rich swirl of notes that aren't meant to go together.

There's bitter, thick cigar smoke, and unlit tobacco leaf drenched with a syrupy sweetness - a fruit compote; honey, plums and peaches boiled in sugar for hours and reduced to a concentrated elixir. Poured over the smoke and tobacco it adds a crackle and electricity to the fragrance that makes it so addictive.

I never saw myself as a sucker for sweet perfumes so my attraction to this even surprised myself, the copious amounts of tobacco ensures the fragrance is something nowhere near cloying or saccharine, though - it's a really cleaver piece of perfumery.

However, beware. Some people will not like this. It's so rich in tobacco, naive noses will confuse you for a chain-smoker and instantly be put off. But for others, this stuff is magical. Do NOT blind buy, head down to a boutique and sample this yourself.

LeHuppert

Wow! I smelled this for the first time today and immediately fell in love with it. Such an addictive and intriguing scent. This is what I wish Kilian Black Phantom and Angel’s Share would have smelled like. While I think Black Phantom is too bitter and lacks sweetness, Angel’s Share is too synthetically sweet, Tobacolor is just the perfect mix of fruity honey and smoky tobacco. It is slightly boozy and I can smell something nutty like dark chocolate as well. Although being very sweet, it smells natural, smooth and well-rounded with no harsh edges. I’m usually not a fan of incense and smoky fragrances because that note irritates my nose and gives me headaches, however the smokiness in here is so smoothly done and pleasant. Projection and longevity are insane. The only issue is that it becomes a tad too smoky in the far dry down.

I own a bottle of Tobacolor for a while now and I bought a bottle of Slumberhouse Kiste 2022, before that I've gone through whole sample vial of this new Kiste.

I actually think the two are very different (yes, changing my mind). Tobacolor is focused on that hookah tobacco note, maybe some musk and faint sweet notes (a'la fruits) in the background. Maybe a pinch of spices.

Kiste 2022 is more complex in my opinion. Very resinous, also tobacco gives you that familiar Slumberhouse smokiness that you would expect from the brand.

I like both for different things and I'm glad I own both.

seas13

This smells amazing. A very strong perfume, so a little goes a long way! If you don’t want everyone in the building to smell it just one spray, sometimes I even spray it on my back so that it’s not right in my face while it dries down. Very smoky, sensual, warm, but still just slightly sweet. Very long lasting, even hours after spraying I can smell a burst of it on myself with certain movements.

FragStar

This could have been amazing. Sweet Honey, sticky plum, fragrant peach lurking in the background. Enough spice for the colder seasons, add a little tobacco and all is beautiful in the world. However, for some inexplicable reason, there are not one, not two, but THREE types of tobacco added to this otherwise fantastic creation. And if that were not enough, smoke is stuffed in there as well. The end result is a dry down reminiscent of honey poured into an old, heavily used ash tray. What a disaster.

mikeczyz

i threw this on 10 minutes ago and, at the moment, it smells like i spread smoked honey on my arm. huuuuge projection, it's a bit much for my taste. not at all my thing, but i can understand why other people enjoy this.

Mhssn

Just got a 250ml bottle of this and it isnt my thing.
Im willing to swap if anyone is interested
Just let me know
UK only

Schmellin_Good

Tobacolor and CH Mystery Tobacco are far and away the best tobacco fragrances I've smelled. Very different from each other and both excellent and relatively easy to wear.

Chinello23

Just stunning. Anyone can pull this off. This is a deep, smoothly blended tobacco focused beauty. This is what Tobacco Vanille wanted to be, but ended up syrupy and cloying and gross. Tobacolor is heady and divine, the plum, smoke and honey really shine through!

If TF TV wasn't the tobacco you wanted, give this one a try!! I'm in love.

The Blue Collar Gent

Diors Tobacolor is a very nice fragrance. It smells very similar yet a better version of Argos Triumph of Bacchus, to which I sold. Although Tobacolor is blended way better and it doesn't smell like cigarette buds like TOB, It's just way too sweet for me to make a purchase.

NiqueK

I am SO conflicted on this one.
On one hand it’s absolutely beautiful and basically everything I ever wanted in a Tobacco scent…
However on the other hand I think it’s just too strong. It’s giving me a headache even from just two sprays. This is the rare occasion where you’ve got a niche house and the scent is TOO strong instead of being weak and watered down, lol.
Or maybe it’s just something with my own chemistry, who knows.
Still an amazing scent. I wish I could get this in a candle or a room diffuser or even a body wash. It’s just so good.

Foxzilla

Wow, super delicious scent, definitely unisex. I was hoping that TF Tobacco Vanille smelled something like this, but that one came out way too heavy, syrupy, and reminiscent of tobacco vape juice. Tobacolor feels way more classy, sophisticated, and satisfying. It's def the tobacco scent I've been looking for. In Tobacolor, the tobacco note is tempered well by the honey and smoke, and I feel like the overall combination gives it kind of a nutty scent too. Its vibe reminds me of the fall/winter, and it actually smells pretty similar to one of one of my favorite wax melts -- Roasted Chestnuts by Scentsational. I haven't seen it sold in a while, but if you've ever come across that one, just imagine if it were done by a fancy designer and was less sweet / had more smoke/edge. Then, you'd have Tobacolor.

Young Finesse

Best tobacco scent ever. Can smell the tobacco but it's not overpowering to a point where all you can smell is tobacco. It's a nice sweet, creamy tobacco scent and it's blended very nicely. There is a bit of smokyness in the notes buts its not a strong smoke scent. I think it actsully makes the scent better. Dont be afrais that its too smoky because its truly not. You can tell after the first smell that the quality is there. If you like sweet tobacco scent and that has great quality and longevity, this is the scent.

ThatMakesScents

Today I reminded myself why I spent $337 for this fragrance. I know that sounds tacky but let's be real $337 ain't beer money.

Purchased at Bloomies in NYC.

This is gorgeous. Honey over spiced tobacco leaf. More cigarette than cigar. TF Tobacco Vanille >>> I SEE YOU :) Has animalistic qualities . Classy as shit. Very CEO masculine scent IMO. Men who own nice watches should wear this. If you are Rolex or Brietling this is for you.

Not sure about performance yet but goes on really heavy.

Love THIS.

Cherry_Darling

I have to agree with the below sentiment. As a non tobacco lover, this is the best tobacco scent I have experienced! Like a really really posh tobacco, not smokey or cigarette smelling, but something sweet you stuff in your pipe on a rare occasion. Really soft, chewy tobacco leaves with honey and plum giving it a very festive pipe in leather armchair around the Christmas tree and fireplace kind of vibe. Really enjoyable!

I don’t like tobacco, I really don’t… but I love this perfume!!!

The note is done just right, not incisive, not cigarette/pipe smelling… It’s just sweet, harmonious, warm and addictive!

The Tobacco variations are exquisitely blended with the Oriental Notes, the Honey and the Plum, to create an almost caramel-ish gourmand olfactory experience… the Amber is also very present, enveloping the scent in a delicious and inviting aura… the Smoke is subdued an goes almost unnoticed for the first couple of hours, then it suddenly appears over the sweetness integrating perfectly with the composition.

As said… I love this perfume, it has become an instant favorite… still, there is something that bothers me, not with the scent in itself, which is delicious… but rather with the brand and the perfumer behind the fragrance…

In my Sauvage Elixir review I mentioned that it was very hard for me to believe that such an accomplished perfumer as François Demachy had never smelled Drakkar Noir, and that if he had indeed smelled it, wasn’t he, at the very least, influenced from such a successful perfume when creating, or even to create, the scent profile for his Sauvage Elixir fragrance… many people found that comment offensive… but now here we are again… are we also to assume that the same Master perfumer, before creating Tobacolor, never smelled Oajan from Parfums de Marly (which allegedly doesn’t contain tobacco), and so many other very famous perfumes that do contain the note and have an almost identical scent profile?

Coincidences keep on mounting for this Master Perfumer and the brand, and my two questions remain… the first, why is perfumery exempt from appreciation vs appropriation?… and the second, does a little variation count as making a new perfume?

Back to the perfume…

This is a perfectly unisex fragrance, doesn’t lean one way or the other… preferably for cold or mild weathered places, and better suited for evening, nighttime or whenever a cozy scent is required… projection is moderate and longevity is 8 hours+.

A sweet delicious perfume!

***UPDATE***

After about 4 hours the sweetness from the honey and the fruitiness from the plum disappear, and what’s left is a very dry pipe-tobacco smell… people that love the note will adore this perfume’s evolution… sadly, I’m not one of them.

I do stand by my initial review though, as long as the honey and plum are around this perfume is gorgeous… but after they’re gone Tobacolor becomes just another pipe-tobacco fragrance, something I really don’t like… In the future I will have to layer it with a long lasting ambery or sweet perfume, something like Blessed Baraka from Initio, in order to soften the dry pipe-tobacco accord which is the only scent left in the drydown of this fragrance.

Ajrullah Utur

You can tell this is dior's version of tobacco vanille except it's honey & plum here not vanilla
Personally I would prefer TV by TF but this is still a decent one

Xyfodan

Smelt this in a duty free, put 1 full spray on my hand, reminds me of fruity shisha mixed with some Smokey/woody ness overall pretty good, ended up washing it off as I was worried it Wld project too much as someone mentioned it to me in the plane, performance seems rlly good by that logic
Scent 8/10
Projection 9-10/10 don’t wear in close proximity
Longevity 10/10 6 hours in was still projecting so I imagine it Wld last all day nd night
Wld wear this going to a party after school mabye

Ah the power of marketing…as someone that generally loves Dior fragrances I have no reason to hate on this fragrance BUT after testing it today, I stood there thinking why does this smell so familiar, until I figured it out…

It’s almost identical to Sweet Tobacco Spirits by 18.21 and there’s absolutely no reason to pay more than double for the Dior

cdgodard

I went to try one some fragrances in a mall and came across Dior's booth with their private line scents, and liked the look of Tobacolor so told the employee I wanted to try it and a few more.

I wasn't expecting to be blown away, but I fell in love immediately after smelling it on the tester strip. On my skin it was just as good. The tobacco is so well balanced, and the sweetness makes it very unisex in my opinion. I usually hate smoky fragrances (can't stand Aventus or even Aventus cologne for this reason) but this is great.

It lasted on my skin for about 16 hours which is amazing. It's not a summer fragrance, but I was walking around a lot after applying it and got pretty warm, and it didn't become sickeningly sweet, so you could definitely wear this to an office all year round.

My favorite fragrance of all time. Highly recommended to at least try it.

Knightsbridge9

A beautiful tobacco fragrance laced with ripe plum and juicy peach. If you’re looking for a rich and opulent fragrance, look no further than this. Unisex which leans masculine, but I imagine this fragrance would smell great on anyone. I’m down to a quarter of a 250ml bottle which explains a lot.

Tobacolor smells exactly like walking through Knightsbridge.

La petite robe noire

I am new to tobacco scents, and I didn’t expect to like this, but wow - it’s amazing and SO addictive. This is what I imagine Don Draper to smell like.

Smokey but there is a slight syrupy sweetness which balances the tobacco notes well. The initial spray is strong, and people will notice for sure. It projects and is very long lasting as well. Very expensive smelling, well balanced and sexy. To me it leans more masculine, but anyone can wear it - as long as you have the confidence and attitude 😉

eewatts23

No one thinks this smells a little like Naxos, but the tobacco in this is a little more potent?

NOSEYBODY

Honey Cinnamon & Cigarettes. with a hint of Whiskey from the Plum note.

I get a honey almost similar Zoologist's Bee. Its realistic, but not as funky Floral photo realistic as Bee.

I get a Cinnamon similar to Viktor & Rolf's SpiceBomb Infrared.

Lastly, I get a Tobacco & Ash combo similar to Maison Martin Margela's Jazz Club. However, unlike Jazz Club the Tobacco in Tobacolor smells more true to authentic Tobacco.

4 hours in I begin to pick up on a Caramelized sweetness which gives an impression of Maison Martin Margela's By The Fireplace.

While Tobacolor has notes that smell reminiscent of other popular fragrances its no doubt a beautiful fragrance on its own, & a Tobacco worthy of being in ones collection.

By no means is Tobacolor a complex fragrance. Its very mass appealing, & as others have noted it has very good projection, sillage, & longevity.

For anyone looking for a good 90% Clone of Tobacolor I recommend Frenetic Tobacco Honey by Paris Corner. Which can currently be found on EBay.

reaabf

I have a miniature of this gem, it's a piece of art , sure not a mass appealing perfume but the craftsmanship and the art of it are for those who appreciate the art of perfumery . I detect honey and tobacco leaves only, I think the fruity notes were in the back ground just to tame the tobacco accord. It is for self enjoyment rather than for impressing the people around you. Solid 10/10.
Monsieur Francois Demachy , you are the best perfumer of our time.

rednose

It's hard to rate fragrances and be objective when you've tested many in one go because you're constantly comparing them to each other and it becomes this struggle between preference & appreciation. This is one of those scents that on its own with no past tobacco scents to compare it to, or no other fragrances tried on the same day that bring to light its quality, you could easily take for granted. I'm really glad I waited on the test paper and didn't throw it out thinking this is a generic fruity fragrance because it develops into the most elegant feminine refined tobacco. Not one of those tobacco scents that are only considered feminine because you can't actually smell the tobacco and not an in your face hardcore dirty tobacco that can only be enjoyed by someone who enjoys the genre. This is feminine, refined and agreeable tobacco that isn't hidden, nor a smack in the face. It might not be an instant love, but I'd do it an injustice if I gave it any other rating.

-----
The test paper from a month ago was left in a book for 2-3 days before I chucked it. The inside of that book still smells of a tobacco drydown a month later. Don't judge this immediately. Wait for the journey. That's where the money is.
--
Sweet lord! The page on that book still smells of this 9 months later.
This scent does not budge!

onnagreen

Oooooh YASS! This is what I wish TF’s TV would smell like but this here is beautiful 🤩

Adog22

Dark fruit spicy sweet and warm. Dry down smells just like a cinnamon stick.

Martin__

Just bought myself a bottle of Tobacolor.

While Pineward Treacle is a heavy tobacco with molasses, Slumberhouse Jeke is a resinous, sirupy tobacco with huge rum cask influence and benzoin and Tobacco Vanille is a cherry scented tobacco with vanilla twist, this is probably leaning towards Tom Ford’s TV. The difference is Tobacolor has different fruits - to me peaches.

This is nowhere as strong as Slumberhouse Kiste, and Kiste is definitely more wearable during warm weather (definitely not summer though - spring and early autumn fit the bill), Tobacolor is a typical autumn-winter warmer. I am mentioning Kiste because both have peach in their notes breakdown.

At times might be a little boozy, I would call it rather safe and cozy in general. And it makes it suitable for office use, just with lighter application.

Hard to tell wether this one was already reformulated or not yet. If so - this is reformulation done right. But I think it might be left untouched, which is a good thing.

Dramaloladiva

Oh. My. Goodness.
Where have you been all my life Tobacolor???

Honey, honeyed tobacco, spices, soft amber accords, something fruity and sweet, smoke-y, mouth-watering and absolutely worth the price!!!

Definitely an evening kind of scent and perhaps more suited for colder months but hey, I am wearing it (in a generous sample) in the middle of July and it is a-m-a-z-i-n-g!!

This was made for me!! Full bottle, here I come🧡💛🤎

Martin__

Finally, Tobacolor hit with me, in the right spot, let’s say.

This is oriental tobacco like Tobacco Vanille and in general this theme was played over and over again - some might say. That is correct.

But Tobacolor is rather a journey, an experience, a perfume that takes me places. I love that. Being in the countryside, observing bees doing their job around their beehive. Somewhere around my great grandpa with his son are working and smoking pipe tobacco, both of them. Then, at the end of the day we eat together, myself eating a sandwich with a good slab of honey on the bread and drinking hot tea. Memories.

Longevity is over 7 hours, sillage is a little above average.

I think with that being said I’m buying a bottle of Tobacolor soon.

Scentmad

I bought this a few months ago - a blind buy. I sprayed it once and thought it was too smoky, bordering on the deeply unpleasant aspects of burnt tobacco in the form of stale cigarettes. I regretted my purchase and consigned it to a cupboard in which I store my least favourite perfumes/the stinkers/repellent fragrances.

Recently I decanted some for a friend who actually said she loved it and wanted some but couldn’t run to the price tag, which I get. Anyway in providing the decant some drops of Tabocolor touched my skin and my heart sank. I reluctantly decided to give it an hour and I would scrub it off. However I have fallen in love with this perfume. I can’t stop wearing it, I have worn it every day for the last two weeks and I cannot get over how much I love it.

I misjudged it woefully and now I’m enthralled. Every time I wear it someone comments “what’s that gorgeous smell” “wow, someone is wearing a fabulous perfume” we’re the two latest comments at work last week.

This is sensational. It has similar notes to Arabie by SL but this is much smokier. An absolute winner for me.

ateghipc

This is the smell of smoky hay layered over a powdery, effervescent, honey accord. At times it smells a lot like a buttered popcorn flavored jellybean. The tobacco note here is less rich than other tobacco centered perfumes, and reminds me less of pipe tobacco and more of cigarette smoke. This shares the airy quality of many other Dior offerings like bois d’argent.

addy_fraghead

I tried this today in Selfridges, London...and I was really taken aback at just how awful this smells....! Honestly, from the reviews and ingredients I was expecting something completely different to what I experienced.

There was a really offish pungent smell, almost like cat's piss, and I couldn't smell any of the fruit notes - just this awful smell, alongside a faint tobacco note...! I was really disappointed and quite relieved, as I was going to 'blind-buy' this. Whilst I was in Selfridges, I even went to another Dior counter and tried another sample, hoping it was different, but it was the same.

I had this sprayed on my forearm for a good 4-6 hours, and the pungent smell remains at the forefront, with the tobacco coming though a bit more in the dry down, with no sign of the fruit notes. My wife couldn't stand the smell either, and was stunned that it was a Dior fragrance from their private line.

I am actually really disappointed as I was really hoping I was going to love this fragrance, as I love tobacco scents, already owning Naxos & Herod, but there is absolutely zero chance of me adding Tobacolor into my collection.

My advice, like with most niche fragrances, is to try before you buy.

romanygerges

The far dry down is the most addictive smell, amazing. Feve Deliciouse was my favorite Dior Privee and I never thought anything will top it, but this does, this is my favorite Dior Privee. And I own/tried almost all of them.

Nooshin (Atghia)

It’s an invitation to explore tobacco accords from François Demachy’s viewpoint. It exhibits shades of brown color through anything that can support a perfect tobacco display; from smoke's dark brown to honey's golden hue.
.
Tobacolor is much smoother than most tobacco fragrances in the market. The blend of resinous notes and smoke is a reminiscent of glowing charcoal on a hookah. The amber-vanilla composition is well-decorated with sweetened cherry and apricot, which resembles your half-burnt sweet caramelized breath when you exhale while smoking hookah. And the honey tobacco combination is uncanny. The only downside is a stiff price.

edubs

If you own nishane ani or roja dove sweetie oud then there is no reason to buy this. The dry down is about 95% similar to sweetie oud.

My first whiff of this is tobacco fumed plum. The plum is sweet and juicy and the tobacco infused deep into its meat. Very lovely. I’ve been waiting for this since the day Dior released its notes. Couldn’t get it from the shop in my country so had to find someone to ship it to me. Finally it arrived, hand carried in by a very good friend. Well over a year of waiting time and it was all worthwhile.
Can’t convey how much I love this. It’s like an offspring of Tobacco Vanille and Vanille Fatalle that is almost san vanilla, carrying the beauties of both perfumes, and the child’s raised by Dior. This surely is becoming my new signature scent.

pshopper1180

If you won't respect the beauty and elegance of this scent, then at least respect the sillage and longevity of this juice. I have 100s of perfumes and this is one of the very few and can literally still smell hours after spraying on my skin, as for on clothes, you'll have to wash your clothes to get this sweet beauty off it.

This fragrance is a good reminder why I never give much consideration to reviews before I buy and experience a fragrance, it deserves more points that has been given.

9.8 / 10

katrin.niisuke

Dreamy tobacco with somewhat intense opening, settles down in beautiful ambery dried fruits hookah tobacco.

aaronmilic

Sampling this one today... firstly I will say this is a fragrance when you see the colour, you already have an idea of how it will smell, they nailed that for sure.

The first spray was not good, it smells like wet cigarettes and was VERY strong. It also was reminiscent of cheap drug store cologne, you could smell that underneath.

However, that dries down very quickly and what remains is a nice easy tobacco scent, warm, nice.

Where I was surprised is this is not a strong fragrance. From the initial spray I thought I overdid it with three sprays. Overall this is quite mild on me.

This is also a more accurate tobacco scent then TF Tobacco Oud or Byredo's Tobacco Mandarin. That said, I prefer THAT tobacco scent over this as it's nicer and stronger.

I like this and would wear it but I'm not sure it justifies the price tag. Seems I'm alone in this though, other people are saying this is a beast... hmm!

Gugz

This is the best fragrance, it makes me feel confident and smoky 😍

After acquiring and wearing a clone of Dior's Tobacolor called Tobacco Gourmand by Fragrance World for three days I had the opportunity to test the original yesterday. Even though I like Tobacolor, I have to admit I love Tobacco Gourmand. Tobacolor is so much more pungent while the Fragrance World clone offering is the perfect balance for me of tobacco, honey and plum - never overpowering and it lasts at least 16 hours.

As for the respective prices, where I'm from the Dior is about $315 for the 125ml, the Fragrance World is $13 for 80ml. (no kidding). I bought two bottles of Tobacco Gourmand, so that's $26 for 160ml. of what I believe to be a better fragrance than the one it is replicating. Extraordinary. If you have an opportunity to try Fragrance World's Tobacco Gourmand please do. It is fantastic value in both scent and price⭐

Marxwick

Demachy must have craved the Chinese snack of sour plum because it is a strong sweet and sour plum tobacco scent.

Supersoaker2

Smells like feve delicieuse but with tobacco and plum. Basically a more masculine version. Very good.

BigBobRoss

Beautiful luxurious well made scent

Sweet honey with tobacco mixed with amber and peach, Smells divine...

Beast mode longevity and sillage

I'm male and love this scent especially in the cold winter months

Fragaddict123

People who doesn’t seem to appreciate extra sweet fragrances should just keep away from this one
It’s the manifestation of the word “syrupy” unfortunately the tobacco is not even a star player here it’s the honey and sweetness
Personally I loved it very much and I feel such happiness whenever I sniff the atomizer of the bottle

Armchair Racer

Instant love at first sniff. This is what I wanted Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille to smell like. The tobacco in TV is too harsh for me but this one opens up with a smooth fruity hookah tobacco.

Fairly linear from beginning to end but that's absolutely no bad thing. Great performance too. Still catching whiffs 10 hours after applying and it was pumping out for at least half of that.

This fragrance reminds me of my trip to Dubai where we smoked various fruit flavored hookah at every restaurant in which we dined. It all culminated with a desert safari where we rode out of the city and into the dunes in a Toyota Land Cruiser. Eventually we reached a tent village where they had camel rides and ATVs that you could race across the sands. At nightfall there was a stage show with local dancers and performers. Out there, far from the bright lights of modern Dubai, under the ancient Moon and stars, we smoked fruit flavored hookah all night long. Good times.

Voice-Of-God

When I saw the pre-release notes for Tobacolor I thought I'm gonna love this as it seems right up my street. When my local MCD store had it in stock I popped in ready to splash the cash. The salesgirl gave me a quick spray to see how it sat on my skin and...

Whoah... what am I smelling? this isn't very nice!!! I thought Nooo this can't be happening - I should be loving this. Maybe it's just how it reacts on my skin type but there is a note in Tobacolor that I find really sweetly sick and synthetic - I can't work out what it is but it really gives me the boak. My olfactory senses just can't get over it. Needless to say my cash remained in my wallet.

Judging by the many positive reviews it's receiving from lots of folks then I seem to be in the minority, which is cool - I'm happy for the folks it appeals to, but on my skin, it's a total minger. It just goes to show you that you really need to smell a fragrance before spending your dough.

CONCLUSION |
It's not happening for me! ;)

Swashbuckler9x

We get it, you quit smoking and you'll settle for anything remotely close at this point. Why should we get a throat kick from your perfume?

See also: Liquid shisha in a bottle.

On a serious note: nice release, unique. Very sweet, very sugary, very smokey.
But it's a Dior private blend, so it'll sadly be discontinued and replaced with whatever they'll push onto the public later.

And remember, only you can prevent forest fires.

abderrahim

A Classic intake of tobacco perfume sweetened in honeyed fruits makes all to be a delicious apricot jam like. Precisely, a hookah bar atmosphere smoke smelling immersed in a delicious hookah to be precisely.

These was to best capture a pic of this beautiful creation from François Demachy. The amber accord is present and well blended with some musky base notes. The sillage and the longivity are very good balanced. Definitely a night out awesomeness 👌

LadyofWahey

Edit, some hours later: Phew! The reviews can now be seen, so am pleased to note that this gem has more fans.

Staggering to find my review being the first for this glorious concoction; it has, after all, been out for several months and is a Dior!

Oh, Tobacolor, you honeyed sun-drenched, tobacco fragrance you. Sweet gourmand promises, delivered on wisps of liqueurish fruit; such sultriness, gorgeously brilliant and reminiscent, indeed, of my treasured true vintage bottle of Caron's Tabac Blond. Dressed to take the world by storm, glam as you like, yet understated and refined - never haughty or condescending, there is only warmth, welcoming, caressing, nearly like being drawn into an opium den, there to be able to forget your troubles as sweet, gentle Tobacolor will soothe you with each breath.

I have been sniffing, sampling Tobacolor since it was released and was very generously given a sample the other day, which I shall treasure until I manage to secure a full bottle, because it is perfect and a fragrance I would love to always be able to wear.

Sublimely wonderful, and I still can't believe that no one else has written a review.

Parfumsqui.surprise

Usually, I like to layer my perfumes to create unique combinations. However, whenever I layer with this it overpowers the others, which I don't mind, if you like honey/tobacco accords, good chance you will love this. It is very sweet but the tobacco still shines. I like this one but difficult to layer with as mentioned, extremely powerful sillage and projection. It does last longer than any other perfume that I own and it's not a scent that I quickly become nose blind to. Perfect for the cooler months, unisex, and beautiful!

TonyG

Holy SWEETness Batman. This is like honey on steroids. It's WAY too sweet on the initial spray, (I sprayed once on my wrist to test and my mail man smelled it as soon as he opened the door) and is still mega sweet on a drydown. Imagine Tobacco Vanilla mixed with the sweetness from BK450(not the scent, the sweetness) and times it by 1000. I actually had to was it off as it was giving me a headache. It would be amazing if it wasn't so damn SWEET!!

Scentmad

Smokey to the max. Smells like a bonfire. Opens with a loud punch of sizzling fire and smoke, in comes the pipe tobacco smooth and rich and I get a spike of Oud - not a note I gravitate towards.

Smoother in the dry down - still smokey but now with a sweet note of honey and a nice hint of spice and amber. Not for the faint heated.

Gentleman’s club feel. Rich. Big. Masculine. As a woman I wear masculine fragrance and this is great for cooler days.

The notes captured are pretty well spot on but I don’t get citrus notes to my (obviously unsophisticated) nose. Use sparingly to allure or liberally if you’re recreating a scene from towering inferno.

SailorV

Very true to the notes, but still not quite what I expected. This is not a bad scent, just not suited to my taste. I love the colors and textures in the promotional image with the lush, honey covered plums and citruses laying on tobacco leaves. So I hoped for a scent that conveyed that imagine to me: Rich, syrupy, juicy with a tobacco edge.

Unfortunately the tobacco comes off too rough and scratchy on me, especially in the opening. It's sharp and dry at first and only slowly turns into something softer and rounder. How long it takes seems to vary from day to day. I definitely also get the honey, which feels thick and sticky, very gourmand and not animalic. The plum and peach are there, but they smell more like warm dried fruits and not super juicy. I think this is more reminiscent to sweetened pipe tobacco mixed with dried fruits than to a heavily fruit flavored hookah tobacco. It mostly smells like unlit tobacco to me, but there is a hint of smoke in the background, too.
After everything has dried and calmed down for a few hours I actually like the scent, but the scratchiness of the opening is hard for me to bear. The longer it's on, the better it gets - I especially enjoy the final skin scent I got when I sampled this in the evening and woke up the next day, which is creamier and almost like caramel with a little tobacco. And it really lasts forever until it's vigorously scrubbed off in the shower.

Like many others I find this better suited to a man, even though the drydown is clearly unisex. Of course women who like their fragrances a little more rugged can also easily wear this, I'm just talking about my personal preferences. You really have to like both to enjoy this: Very sweet honey gourmands and sharp tobacco.
For reference my favorite tobacco scents are Serge Lutens Chergui and Amouage Sunshine, which are both much smoother than this.

MariannaMore

This is the first fragrance, in my growing collection, that I have felt compelled to leave a review for.

Dare I say, Tobacolor is a Masterpiece.

This is a blast of tobacco to me, of course. But that sweet, edible honey grounds this fragrance beautifully. Every note is blended to perfection.

The lasting power is insane. One spray lasted on the back of my hand the entire day. A little goes a very long way!

It’s warm, sweet, smokey, slightly fruity, deep, and leans perfectly unisex in my opinion.

I cannot wait to wear this out properly, I can see it being an attention grabber!

Love

Becs9310

The smoke/incence is dominant all the way. It's a powerful parfum, and sillage is good. Glad I got a sample, not really my two cents.

Chris89

One of the strongest perfumes I have ever tried. Sits on skin for days, even between showers. A great scent, but a little too sweet for my style. Would love to get wafts of it from time to time from someone around me.

A mix between TF Tobacco Vanille, Dior Homme Intense and TF Lost Cherry.

AzuLX

This scent is so gorgeous it's actually unreal. One of my all-time favourites.

People have come up to me and asked me numerous times what I'm wearing, it's loud and so well received it's insane. People are going with this "it's a mature scent" thing but I think absolutely anybody can pull this off in absolutely any way it is just so well-rounded and delicious. I even wear this with casual clothing or when I wear nice clothes for going out.

Furthermore, I've even worn this one to the club numerous times and had people get close and personal with me to catch whiffs of it. Truly has an addictive and delicious scent.

Perfectly boisterous
Sweet yet has that tobacco giving it some more depth
Lasts an absolutely long time and leaves a brilliant scent trail

10/10, this and Santal Noir are the two Dior fragrances I have given so much love and will 100% restock on after they run out.

Eladanu

When I smelled it I also thought: “this gives me tabacco vanille vibes” but it’s not similar, just have the same vibe to it. Tabacolor for me is the big sister, perfectly balanced, beautifully blended and just divine, it makes you want to bite onto your arm when you spray it. To me it smells like walking on a cold day in a Christmas marked drinking mulled wine with a lot of cinnamon and smelling someone smoking a cigarette, with all the Christmas sweets around you. It’s by far my favorite gourmand-oriental

Hellenic Perfumology

Its very close to Vanille Havane by les indemodables, it has the top notch cocoa facets only Demachy can pull. Then the tobacco kicks in along with vanilla and and a juicy peach in the back. This fragrance is a masterpiece in my eyes! I have fallen in love with the complexity and the nuances dancing in my body! Im def getting a bottle when i finish my sample. One of the finest tobacco fragrances on the market! A peach Tobacco Sisha with cocoa on the back! DAMN this is incredible! Transports you to middle east!

Hey Demachy you tried hard on those last creations of yours with Dior, Bravo.

8+ Hours Longevity

10/10 Masterpiece

Bruton Gaster

I love everything about this but the drydown. Smokey, slightly sweet, lit up tobacco that's simply gorgeous. Fruity spiciness going along with the tobacco that makes this playful and beautiful. Wonderful until the drydown which is very heavy ambroxan. It's strong and suffocating. Sprayed it in my office 2 weeks ago and I swear I still smell it when I walk in. Ignoring the drydown a 10/10.

MNadz

Mature, rich, deep, experienced, slightly stuffy. Cant decide whether I really love this or it is evoking some fond olfactory memory.

This does indeed bring me back to doing business in the 1990s over a meal in a high-end NYC steak house or cigar lounge. Not smoky…but sitting in expensive rich red leather high-back chairs while sipping on a really nice ruby port. The slight smell of sweet high end cigars in the environment mixed with rich wines and cognacs.

This DNA screams of someone that has been there done that. Has had success in their earlier years and now thinks back to those days with a sense of accomplishment. There is no need for this person to prove him/herself anymore. Opens with a sweeter honeyed tobacco…different that the vibe one gets from Naxos. The honey is sweet and rich. As it dries down, the honey’s sweetness shifts to a deeper sweet honey. All along the honey note note is mixed with a dry tobacco leaf note. As it continues to dry down more, think dried fruits…deep rich fruits…like dates. The sweetness in this is deep and rich. As I’m writing this, I’m realizing that I do indeed love this.

Longevity is full work day. Projection seems to be moderate. Certainly unisex. Fall/winter. This is mature stuff here. I don’t see many really liking this that are younger than 40.

Overall, I would certainly recommend those over 40 years of age that appreciate the finer things in life to check this out.

clo2005

honey tabacco scent with a hint of chocolate, really enjoyed it

MissAnnette

Smells like lit cigarette.

Update: Went to the shop today to buy a full bottle but ultimately decided not to after testing it again. It’s not smoky as I remember it. The prominent fruity honey note is much too sweet and rather cloying today. When I want honey I’d still go for Xerjoff Mamluk. This got the approval of my cat though. This is the first time she seems to like a perfume. She went to sniff my arm then proceed to give it one lick and then she rub her face in my arm. 😳 performance is 10/10 with strong sillage and excellent longevity.

gg23

This is a very strong, very smokey and tobacco heavy fragrance with some sweet honey and fruity components to make it more rich and complex and wearable. Eventhough it has a lot of smoke and tobacco, it's still close to gourmand territory. It might be a bit too mature smelling for me (I'm in my 20s), but I'll find occasions to wear this as I love it. I really like this combination of notes and it's quite unique in my collection. Great for cold weather evening events. It definitely smells sophisticated and expensive. 9/10

When I smelled this in the Dior boutique, I wasn't a fan. As an ex-smoker, it reminded me of one of those peach hookah flavors. It was pretty harsh as well. I eventually came home sometime later and started getting whiffs of something delicious. I started getting more of that honey and plum which made me fall in love with the fragrance. It was as though it was a completely different scent. The opening is my least favorite part, but once I got past that, I loved it. This is something I would wear in the fall and winter during the nighttime. It is loud, so I suggest wearing it at a party, festival, or something in that realm. You can offend people who aren’t fond of tobacco, so be wary of your sprays.

It smells like my old tobacco habit. Since I quit I don’t really want to smell like that but I used to smoke chocolate flavored tobacco and it’s close to that. I am conflicted since I enjoy it on my skin but it’s unwearable for me.

Fantastic woody spicy tobacco. I enjoy tobacco fragrance, but dislike gourmand type scents so I'm always disappointed that most tobacco fragrances are paired with vanilla. The top accord on Fragrantica is "sweet" but I don't get much sweetness at all. If anything, just a bit of honey to balance out the spice.

It is extremely strong, so a little goes a long way. I'd be hesitant to wear this as an everyday fragrance because it's not exactly easy on the nose. It's delicious and I personally love smelling it, but I wouldn't want to necessarily inflict it on unsuspecting strangers. It's kind of an amped up, more punch-you-in-the-face version of Tabac Rouge, which I also love.

This isn't available where I live and seeing all the disapproving comments on Fragrantica gave me cold feet so grabbing it would be tempting fate. I then saw a bottle up for sale not long ago and thought to myself an opportunity like this comes along ever so infrequently so I bit the bullet, and boy did it bowl me over!

Tobacolor is a delectable oriental melange that showcases how multi-faceted tobacco can be in perfumery, juxtaposing a natural smelling spicy and incendiary cigar smoke with an artificial, slightly rubberized peach-flavored shisha, both of which are graciously and gracefully bound by a sticky sweet and succulent ambery honey and sensual musks.

Despite being quite particular when it comes to sweet frags and most of the time averse to tooth-achingly sweet gourmands, at no point did I find the sweetness in here insufferable. Sure, it may lack the more exhilarating, show-stopping or what-just-happened elements in Francois Demachy's previous works, I still find Tobacolor hugely impressive and striking: the familiar made subtly unusual, a full conceptual realisation brimming with equal parts of inventiveness, craftsmanship and restraint that reveal themselves over repeated wearings.

I love the fragrance of a Tobacco store. This is not it. I also have a friend who smokes, lives with another smoker and they both reek of cigarette smoke. Tobacolor is closer to that. This is honestly offensive to me, strong enough to not come off easily , even after a shower. As it dries, after a while this awful ben-gay, camphor like odor takes over, like a smoker who has applied some ointment and then rolled around in moth balls. I love smoky but this is one of the worst concoctions I have ever sampled.

Kinda smells like something that could be in the Replica line for Maison Margiela. It’s smoky with tobacco that sweetens on the dry down but is not gourmand. It’s a nice scent but I have so many other cold weather scents that I would rather reach for. Try before you buy as I’ll be reaching for my Tom Ford TV and TO this winter.

Going to be in the minority, I guess. Accurately described because I thought, wet, cold hookah morning after. That's just not my kind of Tobacco. What sent it into an active dislike was the intense sweet fruity overlay on the wet ashy tobacco. It's distinctive, props for that.

The dry down of this reminds me of Angels' Share but with tobacco leaves. I'm surprised I like this! I am usually not a fan of tobacco in my fragrances, but this has a nice amber spice and the citrus balances the smokiness, not making it too dark and heavy. It's smooth, sexy and beautiful. A man or a woman could definitely pull this off. I may add this to my collection for the fall/winter.

Smells really good, but it is really sweet and not super original. Again for the 220 price, I'll pass.

One of the better release of late from Dior.

The fruits, honey and shisha, smoky like tobacco work really well together. I’m loving this in cooler temperatures.

The silage and projection is heavy for the first couple hours, you really carry this around with you. It smells great in the air.

If you like sweet, smoky tobacco fragrances you will like it, if you don’t like sweet, syrupy fragrances that has a smokiness to it you will hate it. It’s really that simple.

I personally think it’s great.
