D&G Anthology L'Imperatrice 3 Dolce&Gabbana for women

Wow! Found a quarter full 100ml bottle of this a friend gave me years ago. The rhubarb is superbly strong it seems now!
Such a timeless, early 2000s style fragrance. I need to sit down with this, and write a full review. Lost love of mine 🥰

I like it. It's non offensive. It definitely reminds me of high end body spray. Actually, it reminds me of Lancome Tresor without spice. Great for summer...it smells now (hours later) just as it did on first spray.

I may be wrong about the Tresor, but that's where my brain went.

Smells like a nice fruity shampoo. That's about all i can say with this one. Good value, it isn't too expensive. But there isn't really anything remarkable about this. Good for the first "big girl perfume."

I love the scent so much …sweet, tart, aquatic and fresh! It was on offer in a shop near me and the guy sprayed it on a card and like a total sucker I bought it 5 minutes later! The only problem is that it is an edt …a fresh, summary edt and as is typical of these it is not that long lasting. I’m not regretting my purchase as I got 100ml for £30 but (as is my opinion for most high-end edt’s) it’s probably not worth it full price. I think I’ll probably get through it before summer is over!

If anybody knows a similar perfume that’s stronger please let me know!

I was gifted an 100ml bottle. Upon first test the fruit was suffocating and unbearably heavy. The kiwi and watermelon notes are overwheling, moreover combined with the strong rhubarb note it's spicy, sickingly fruity and has insane longevity. Barely a spray projects everywhere and it clings onto anything in its vicinity. Also noting that this fragrance is listed as a summer/ spring fragrance please beware. In hot and sweaty weather this fragrance becomes nauseating and potent. I find it far too heavy.

I found that this does not last nor does it project,it’s very weak.Very faint peachy smell

Extremely fresh & clean scent. reminds me of a high end shampoo. Perfect for spring/ summer . Also I could imagine this would be a great pick me up right after a hard work out & you get all showered & cleaned. I love it.

Veeery fruity fresh clean and aquatic. Suitable for teenagers and young people. I'm a person that easily feels nauseous from perfumes and this is a safe one because it's very light and fresh.
Not for me though, the fruity notes are a bit too childish.

This used to be my sisters signature scent before she found Light Blue and then The Only One by D&G. So i associate my sister and her modeling years with this perfume. She gave it to me when she changed her signature scent and i do wear it sometimes - less frequently now than I used to. Its an ozonic, fruity, aquatic light and airy perfume, very feminine without being teenage-girl-sweet, truly for It-Girls to wear during the day. Its inoffensive yet still noticeable and different. Signature scent worthy for It-Girls (in my very subjective sisterly opinion).

a nice summer perfume i would say. it's not strong but refreshing without the soapy/synthetic clean scent and even me, who usually reaches out for more sweeter scent, likes it

This perfume has always been a favorite of mine for warm weather. When I reached for it a couple of days ago to get a whiff of fruity goodness, I was surprised. I don't know if something is wrong with my nose or if my bottle has gone off but right from the sprayer it smelled exactly like b.o. I was so disappointed. Has anyone else gotten this? I will have to track down another bottle. I truly love the smell that I remember.

I got this fragrance from my aunt and I tried it before going to school, but I didn’t like this fragrance on me, idk what it was but it was just sour and lingering some sickly sour juice on me. I like the scent when I smell it from the bottle but when I smelt the scent on me I just wanted to gag and couldn’t wait to get it off. It’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking this will be a good juicy fruity scent (my aunt thought so) but it just didn’t do it for us. I smelt it on my friend the other day and it smelt good on her, I would suggest trying this fragrance and wearing it before buying incase it doesn’t work for you and your body chemistry.

Pretty and effortless summer scent. Personally, I even wear it in winter, because I like to smell fresh and clean. It's the perfect blend of aquatic and ozonic without it being nauseating. Watermelon and kiwi are the stars. After a few minutes, it became more tangy and musky, but you can still perceive the juicy sugar of the fruits which makes it more balanced. It is similar to Ocean di gioa. I don't have this one because I have L'impératrice. Sillage is moderate as the performance. It last 4h-5h on my skin. Its perfect for the office as its non offensive and soft.

fresh and fruity, i know there’s no pear note but i can smell pear for some reason. i sprayed this in Sephora and couldn’t stop smelling my wrist, even now i can still smell it and the dry down is just as good. need to go back and buy a bottle of this asap

Found it just ok. Nothing to write home about as it's not particularly long wearing nor does it have great sillage.

Initial scent is fresh and fruity however as it dries down it becomes tart and almost peppery.

One of my favorites. It smells fresh, youthful and fruity.. very watermelon. I love it.

I don't know what actually happened with this one, it's one of the worst scents I have ever smelled in my life, a mix of burnt rubber and rotten watermelon is the only thing I got, I believe it's either my body chemistry worked horribly with this one or I received a bad patch because no perfumer would ever made something so offensive

Sweet, fruity, musky - interesting at the beginning, but the dry down is a whole different story. There is an intense, spicy note of pepper and honey, yet smoky/woody finish leads me to a memory of scents like Holy Stick from Chapel Factory with palo santo playing first role. Unfortunately, weak sillage makes only the first part noticeable to the surrounding.

It's an inoffensive Clean and Fruity fragrance. This reminds me a lot of the Garnier Fructis Conditioner which was very popular in the past. It gives me the same fruity clean vibe. It's listed as an aquatic floral fruity fragrance but to my nose I feel it's more fruity than floral. Watermelon and Kiwi are two of my most favourite fruits. So I instantly fell in love with this perfume after the first spray. I can smell watermelon,kiwi and something sharp, it may be the rhubarb or lemon tree notes. I also get a ripe guava kind of note in this perfume though it's not listed in the official notes. It's a refreshing fruit cocktail in a perfume form.
It's perfect for the hot and humid summer we have here in Bangladesh. It won't make the people around you feel uncomfortable. Perfect for daytime. You can wear it for any purposes. Just take a shower apply your antiperspirant and spray this on yourself and you'll feel fresh and clean instantly. I personally love to wear this perfume when I know I won't be out for a longtime. I also wear this to bed as it makes me feel clean & comfy. It's my personal favourite and I wear it to please myself not others. This fragrance makes me happy. The scent doesn't change into some other notes over the time. You'll smell the same from the moment you spray it till it fades.
It's not a sexy scent. But you'll get the attention if you've just sprayed it. So carry a decant while wearing this perfume. First 1-2 hours you'll definitely get noticed by everyone. But after that only people sitting or standing close to you will be able to smell it. I suggest everyone to wear this for yourself cause You'll feel fresh, relaxed and confident while wearing the fragrance. And people standing or sitting close to you will also feel cozy and comfortable.
This perfume is summer in a bottle for me. It's perfect for Summer and Spring. You can also wear it all year round without offending anyone. I personally don't like to categorise perfumes according to seasons. I wear whatever I like whenever I wish. But I believe it's better to avoid extremely strong fragrances during summer as this may make people around you feel uncomfortable.

This just smells like a sunny day!! I never thought I could smell weather, but yes a hot summer day with fruity notes mainly watermelon, and fresh florals. I love it I can't wait to find a good laying routine to go with it.

Kind of a sharp opening, then it heats up and I can definetely smell the watermelon and rhubarb.

Still - I've had this bottle for years. It's nothing special. Nice, but that's it.

Watermelon lollipop with soft musky and floral (almost powdery) base. It’s light and pretty. It’s not super sophisticated but was definitely made to lift the mood up. Cheerful feminine scent for a chilly summer day.

This is an absolutely wonderful, delicious springperfume! Rhubarb, Kiwi and flowering Cyclamen in a perfect mix. (I don't smell any watermelon at all.)
The scent is mouthwatering like a sour/sweet-hard candy-kind of way and at the same time classy fresh.
Superb durability on the skin and a reeeeeeal compliment-catcher!

It’s giving Vilhelm Mango Skin. Not sure why I seem to be the only one mentioning this. I would get the small bottle of this and test it out since Vilhelm only says Mango Skin in the full size bottle.

I loved the scent the second I smelt it at the airport. My first impression was sour and sweet, some what like a fresh sour candy for spring and summer. It’s very fruity and floral with mostly a kiwi, watermelon and lemony fresh scent. It kind of smells like peach to me but sour. Smells great and really unique, but NEVER EVER put more than 2-3 sprays or else it gets super strong and you will hate it. I would recommend for teens or someone bright and cheerful. It’s good for like a picnic date.

It smells just like walking into the body shop. I love the opening the most (really get the kiwi and rhubarb). It still smells nice on dry down but on me it can start to smell like generic fruity drug store shampoo. It’s very light, not a lot of depth (I can’t smell any of the musk or sandalwood). Still smells nice but definitely not retail price worthy. It’s winter right now but this screams late spring/early summer to me. Will try again when it warms up to see if I get different notes.

I loved the smell of this at the store but I cannot detect it on myself at all. It's a light fragrance to begin with and then it feels like it evaporates completely. My coworker said she could smell something sweet on me, but the scent is just not memorable or strong enough. I'm bummed. :(

I expected something royal for L'Imperatrice.
Such a fiasco. I gave it away.
It smells like rotten fruits or a cheap fruitty shampoo in summer.
I guess I do not like fruits to be so invasive.
This one is so forgettable and caused me náusea.

No matter what you do. DO NOT OVERSPRAY. The smell is nice but it's a bit nauseating, very strong and very similar to white wine in my opinion. I wore it on my coat yesterday, then wore the coat today and the scent transferred to my hair. But we like that :)

I like it a lot although it misses a bit the depth. I’m a fruit lover so this one brings me joy, zest…On my skin it last 5h+ as long as the Dolce Garden (that is also one of my favorite). Cheers! Summer!

I like it. I expect it to have better performance and longevity since theres musk, but no. Smells pleasant, not cloying, not sweet. I would want to be friends with whomever wears this. I layer it with musk oil and it turns out nice. Will think of purchasing FB in the near future.

Nice juicy watermelon but the musk is too dominant for me here. It turns the fragrance a bit sour/sharp. I’m wondering if the newer version will be better.

Better suited for spring or fall, I get compliments from family and friends when I wear it in slightly cooler weather, rainy days, or ‘perfect temperature’ weather…the watermelon is much more prominent and juicy…it’s fresh and fruity sweet, slightly musky, uplifting, joyful and uncomplicated, an elevated, more sensual version of a VS body spray. The major con is that it can come off smelling like armpit sweat on hot days, or like sour watermelon on the verge of rotting…it’s the combination of the tangy notes (kiwi and rhubarb) and musk causing that BO effect in the heat. Store it well in a cool dark place, and try to use it up within 2 years, because this fragrance gets even more sour once it turns. Moderate longevity/sillage. Avoid on hot summer days, lest those in your proximity think that you forgot to put on deodorant and trying to cover your BO with fruity body spray.

The kiwi jumps at you at the opening with it's tangy fruity aroma and the pink pepper gives the scent a subtle, soft spiciness.

Watermelon brings a little sweetness, but not much - just enough for this to be a feminine fragrance. The florals are there but a bit muted in tone. The lemontree note in the base is a nice touch.

Obsessed with this scent and can't understand how its so affordable for such a large bottle at most major retailers! A lot of reviews saying it doesn't last long but I find that it definitely does! I was at Walmart the other day and I was standing near two teenagers for just a few seconds and one of them followed me to ask me what perfume I was wearing. I was shocked because I didn't think I had gotten close enough that she could smell my perfume and also because I had last sprayed 3+ hours ago and I had thought this perfume to be "weak"- definitely not! I will be crushed if D&G ever discontinues this!

It’s a really long lasting eau de toilette! Fresh and sweet, maybe more suitable in the warmer days. After some hours it goes down as a clean fragrance. I love it!

I have never had a sample of this, so maybe all the store bottles have gone off. But I’ve smelled this on the test strip and my wrist repeatedly and I always get this unpleasant vegetal note… something like V8 juice. Freshness I can understand but I really don’t get how people are picking up any sweetness in this.

I love this smell. It’s like a fresh and airy pear like scent. Feminine. Light but definitely not ordinary. It’s perfect for any occasion but especially for daytime. Also its perfect if you don’t like very strong and overwhelming perfumes.

My roommate used it and I hate it. Smells sweat fruit mixed with an anoying and strong sourness. Its probably from the kiwi and rhubarb. Kind of has a rotten like scent, and gives me a headache.

This smells divine - fruity, sweet, and fresh but not immature. Watermelon and rhubarb stand out to me in the opening. Lasts for 5+ hours on me, and I can still smell watermelon at the end of the day. This holds up in winter too, and has a moderate sillage which is lovely! When I first bought this fragrance in 2009, the SA told me it was unisex, so I wore it all the time even if for a guy it smelled too girly. I loved it and no one ever said I smelled like a chica, ha-ha.

Back then the formulation had beast mode performance. Just two sprays lasted all day and had a nice evolution in its notes.

The reformulation nowadays smells close, but it doesn't have the nuances and powerful fixative of the original formulation. Still, it's a unique fragrance. Doesn't smell like anything else I own or have smelled on women in my life.

I've been thinking of buying another bottle again. I gifted mine to my niece and she really liked it! Try it in a store first, though. It's very dependent on skin chemistry and can become cloying or sour.

Comfortable, dreamy, fresh and divine! What a great fusion of aromatic and aquatic notes with watermelon and jasmine in middle. It's one of the best produced by D&G till date and I am in awe of this fragrance since I had its first spray. Also, you will receive so many compliments when you will wear this but sadly it will stay hardly for 4 hours.

At first spray this fragrance is bright and fruity and fun, and I really smell watermelon. But after a few minutes/hours, it becomes very heavy with a weird sweetness, and I cannot smell a note in particular. I hope it will change for the better, if not I might declutter this fragrance.

This is a spring in a bottle, LOVE!

It actually smells 90% like Lanvin Eclat d’Arpège! The initial spray is a sharp blast of alcohol - as in real booze - and it's quite off putting but thankfully doesn't linger. Then it turns into a watermelon bubblegum kind of scent. The more time passes the similar these two perfumes get however; both have that calming green accord, and they're fresh in a gentle way. Based on the name I expected a heavier perfume but it's a very delicate one apart from the opening. When it settles the scent seems slightly oily to my nose as if there is a small dose of monoi oil. L'Imperatrice is a fruitier, pricier version of Eclat so I probably wouldn't repurchase this one because with Eclat you get twice as much juice of the same quality for the same price, and there's no increase in staying power or projection here to justify the price. It's equal parts green, fresh and fruity so if you're looking for a yummy coctail-like fragrance, this might not be it.

I LOVE THIS SCENT. It's super fresh in a non-citrusy way. Green, sweet, juicy. Cons: A tad bit synthetic, and the longevity is abhorrent. Lasts around 30 minutes to 1 hour. Performs like a bbw body spray lol. Get it if you like how it smells and if it's on sale. I got it for 35 euros.

An unexpected purchase for me considering I prefer more naturalistic, lighter, green, airy, and watery fragrances. On paper, I picked up a strong grapefruit note which I really liked but isn't actually listed as a note. On my skin, rhubarb takes centre stage. L'imperatrice is incredibly sweet and fruity, and much more so on my skin than on paper. To keep it from being cloying, I go easy on the trigger. The box and bottle are beautifully designed, very sophisticated, and very austere for such a vibrant and fun fragrance. It's also worth noting that the glass bottle is noticeably and beautifully transparent and has a really nice weight to it.

Smells too cheap for being a D&G scent... ive smelled better from Victorias Secret and they last the same

Literally the best perfume on the planet, I have like 300 bottles of luxury perfume and this one takes the cake! I don’t understand the low ratings, if anything this is my favorite perfume out of all 300 perfumes I have.

I bought this first time for a gift. When my sister used in Vietnam - where’s the hot summer country I very love it and decided to buy another one for myself. Then I got one for myself (in UK weather) I feel like this smell is horrible. Give me car sick every time I using it.

My love with her starts when I occasionally spayed in the winter . Immediately comes something fresh and the aroma changes completely as I remembered it when using in the heat . I used the whole 100 ml bottle ,which is rare to me . I love it ,but still prefer to used it in a cold weather ,( no matter is marked as a summer scent ) when on me it give freshness and I can feel something super positive and a burst of energy . Only issue is it doesn't stay long but anyway I don't mind to spray it several times during the day .

At first I get juicy watermelon, I like it! But I don't really enjoy the drydown, I wish I smelled the watermelon longer.

Oooh, I love this one. It's nostalgic, 10 years ago every girl in my town wore it. It is fun, it is sweet, it is sour, it's a sour candy! My favorite time to wear it is spring or rainy summer days, it becomes a bit too much for me on a hot day.

I ve smelled it first the first time in a shopping mall while checking out women perfumes, it was really nice. Couple days later i smelled it in the air, projecting like crazy from a passer-by’ and it was so good that I bought it for my partner the same day. Up close its quite sweet and synthetic, but i guess its the price for this great projection, so i you want to get noticed on a warm or summer day and like fruity coctail fragrances i would recommend this as a guy!

This is an elevated body splash. Fresh, effervescent, subtly fruity with an aquatic rose. Really lovely, but only lasts about 2-3 hours.

This could have been amazing, the opening is perfect, so juicy, fruity, fresh! Like an ice-lolly on a hot day, not too sweet, just wonderfully fruity and crisp. Sparkling is the word best used to describe it! Reminds me of a fizzy strawberry cider you could get in the 90s. Unfortunately it turns bitter and weird on my skin after an hour, doesn’t work with my skin chemistry. Use it occasionally to spray on clothes.

Very fruity, summery and mature perfume. A bit too mature for me. Not the most unique either, I feel like I smelled this before. It’s not my vibe at all, but if you are someone whose favorite activity is going to expensive dinners next to the beach then this one will work great. For me it’s not something that I can see myself wearing often.

I don't really go in here to write reviews, because I know it's all so subjective and we all get different notes from fragrances. However, this has to be the worst blind buy fail I've experienced so far, and I just want to give people a warning to NOT buy this blind. I fell for the hype and thought it would be a great, juicy, fresh watermelon scent for high heat, and instead..I get sour, fermented, spoiled fruit salad with kiwi, synthetic watermelon, and body odour. It's just so wrong and off-putting, like a cheap toilet cleaner or car freshener trying to smell like watermelon but failing miserably. Major regret.

very syntethic smelling, quite sharp and slightly tangy sweet? not classy just irritating and young smelling. i dont hate it i wear it since its the most summery perfume i own. wouldn't care if i lost it. looks nice as decor

A very sweet fragrance, it reminds me, first and foremost of watermelon. I like to wear it and I have been asked about it as I did. It is just like a sweet lemonade. The only problem is longevity - it seems to disappear from my skin very fast.

This is my ultimate at-home fragrance. It's the scent I reach for in the mornings when I work from the comfort of my own space, after a relaxing shower, and even when I'm ready to settle into bed. With its delightful watermelon aroma, it instantly uplifts my mood and brings a refreshing vibe to my surroundings.

I snatched the 100ml bottle for 30 EUR at the airport. I really love the fresh watermelon scent. I do not really pick up any of the floral notes, it is simply fruity on my skin (and clothes). It is just a shame that the longevity is not much better than a body splash (1-2 hrs if I overspray it).
If you don’t mind re-spraying it a couple of times during the day, I think it is still worth it! 😉

I like that it's sweet but all i get is watermelon air freshener! Smells sooooo synthetic. Like something that you'd spray in your car. I really don't get the hype about it and everyone i ask to smell it agrees with me! Also it does not last, I know it's an EDT but the longevity is so poor. I really wanted to love this one bc D&G is one of my fave designer houses, i think i might give this one away. I need to make space for perfumes i actually LOVE :(

Very refreshing, fun - more for summertime. I use after shower, and during recent sunny beach holiday. Perfect scent lifting up the mood, not too strong, so can be easily worn in the office.

I absolutely LOVE the tits of this perfume!!!!! I wishhhh it was an edp or just lasted longer in general but, BURY ME IN THIS. The most refreshing, clean and fruity notes combined to make me feel like I'm floating. To be fair I haven't really worn this out, purely because it disappears before I even walk out the door but I wear it almost everyday before bed or after a shower/bath. And as cringe as it sounds, it makes me feel safe and happy. Ive almost run through the 50ml and will definitely be purchasing the 100ml.

I decided to bite the bullet and bought this perfume. I have fallen in love with it since I received it. I was a little afraid as I was buying it because I didn't think I was going to like it that much, but I actually love it. It is fruity but in a watery way. It is subtle and very comforting, so comforting that I've only worn it to bed. Call me crazy, but over time as it dries down, it gets that "baby doll's head" scent. Am I the only one who experiences that with this fragrance? It also has good staying power on me. It has exceeded my expectations. This is not a first, second, or third date scent, no. This is more like "hubby, let's get comfy in bed" type of scent (you're already married and gotten comfortable with him).

The comfort level is high. It is subtle, more of a quiet skin scent and it is not for the conquest.

This perfume is so fun! Fresh, fruity, tart and watery. This in extreme heat is amazing. It can come off pretty sour but I feel like hot weather tones that down.

Wow. I have smelled this on paper a few times and never understood the hype.

Not sure what possessed me to spray it all over my arms while I was shopping today but I'm glad I did. I regretted it at first but as the evening went on I found myself sniffing my arm over and over. The dry down maintains a bit of the sweet fruitiness and some of that airy quality. But what keeps me coming back is the combo of those sweet notes combined with the dustiness of the woods. I love a powdery sandalwood and that's what I'm getting here. It's interesting to get the scent with sweetness coming from fruit instead of the typical vanilla/tonka/amber.

Ordering a full bottle. Definitely worth the price at $89, but it's also on fragrance net for $35. It's a no brainer. Will take it on vacation but I definitely see myself wearing it throughout the summer.

Designer fragrances have been a little to sharp/headache inducing for me over the last few years but this doesn't bother me at all.

smelled this blind, and this smells exactly like a peach snapple to my nose. like, exactly. there's no peach note here, but likely the "juicyness" of this frag translates over to that to my nose. not my thing, but i could see this working on other people.

a very interesting scent in a good way. I'm not really into overpowering fruity fragrances but this one is very green and fresh and not sticky as other most frutiy perfumes. It reminds me of a bowl full of fresh tropical fruits on the garden table in spring season. you get to smell the airy smell of the fruits and the flowers, the spring ozone all around. it also stays all day even though it's a light fragrance.

Watermelon bomb! I was shocked when I smelt it because the true essence of watermelon was captured in this perfume.It reminds me of a watermelon refresher.I get hints of the kiwi a touch of the flowers but for the most part this is a delightful fruity fragrance. Like others have said this is the perfect summer scent. I could see myself wearing this to barbecues, potlucks, picnics even a trip to the beach. I think its the perfect day time summer scent. The sweetness is not cloying at all it's just sweet enough for my liking ( I like ultra sweet ) but the sweetness this brings is just right for any palette.The way it smells like watermelon but also perfume is crazy to me. Its so well blended, projects well and for the price cant be beat. I adore this perfume and it is now my summer staple!

This perfume is absolutely beautiful. I’m glad I didn’t look at the fragrantica overall reviews before I purchased it as I admit it may have put me off but after owning this and wearing it in the hot weather we have had this week I am loving it - so much so I think this could be my summer signature scent! It’s a beautiful, fresh, fruity scent and smells like freshly washed hair. It’s definitely got an aquatic feel to it but in a lovely way. Lasting power is around 3 hours on me but it is an EDT and I haven’t been over spraying. To make it last longer I’ve been spraying onto my clothes / hair. It’s really lovely and I don’t get any of the BO / sweaty notes from it whatsoever. I would recommend this to any woman of any age for a lovely summer fragrance.

This review is for l’emperitice 3 ONLY. An extremely fruity scent. Frankly, the only fruit, from start to finish, that I smell on me is grapefruit: like my hair had been rinsed in the juice and my body rubbed with the essential oils of the rind. It is that overpowering on me. Definitely a scrubber on me. No florals peek through. ¡Nada! Furthermore, it stays and stays and stays on me…and not in a good way. It makes me feel like a tweenager who gets busted for hanging out at the perfume counter without Mom’s permission. If this works well for someone, I would be only too happy to trade for a decent floral with aldehydes.

Recently purchased this for my wife and she absolutely loved it. Neither one of us picked up on anything even remotely similar to "armpit" vibes. Here is my take on this wonderful warm weather fragrance.

If the idea of a sweet, fruity, and refreshingly clean perfume intrigues you, let me introduce you to 3 L'IMPERATRICE. I see how its tart notes of rhubarb and kiwi might polarize certain perfume-wearers but do not be discouraged from trying this one.
It's a scent that's on the lighter side, no doubt, but in my opinion, it’s well-blended like an expertly made fruit salad. I definitely recommend testing this one out to see how it wears on your skin (you know perfume smells differently on everyone). If you're into clean, fruity, and ultra-feminine scents, I have a feeling this one will be a welcomed addition to your vanity.
Surprisingly will drydown to a sweet/musky tone that is still pleasantly feminine.

First review for me- I’m actually really impressed by this! I sprayed it on nearly 11 hours ago, and it’s still going strong, and the dry-down is STUNNING. I really enjoyed that initial green, non-sweet fruity opening, and now it’s turned to a solid bouquet. And that makes it perfect for a day-to-night scent for springtime, imo. I’m not well-versed in individual scents. But I have to say this is a bargain, and I can see this being a regular go-to. I’ve enjoyed sniffing myself all day, and tbh, that’s what I’m after.

wish this had some lasting power. Really reminds me of the Hermes EDTs - I love em but dust in the wind, at a place in my life where I can't justify spending money on dust! Unapologetically fruity, juicy fruity not tropical fruity. I definitely get the aquatic notes. Would swear I smell plum but I don't see it. This also reminds me of these random Victorias Secret EDPs they put out in maybe 2012 or something for Christmas. They were all super fruity and peppery. I get watermelon rhubarb stronger than anything. I get the slight rot but I find it endearing. Takes it away enough from the body spray sentiment

I swear I get grapefruit in this one. Oh well. I like it! Simple, elegant, compliment-getter. There’s nothing standout about it, but people will notice. Fruity, and woody!

L’impératrice !
First at all this is a beautiful edt with a good lasting on clothes. It’s fresh, fruity, seems green to mu nose, cyclamen give that aquatic vibes. But not for me i don’t feel any sweetness and i don’t think this perfume is a good for hot tropical summer days. Maybe on cold nights it might bloom. I’ll reserve it for this winter and give him a try (2nd chance)

It is very pleasing Watermelon scent, the opening is fresh juicy sweet watermelon scent.
And scent develop, fruity is reduced introduce by floral nuance.
The dry down isn't the best, rather a semi-fruity sweet woody musk.

Don't mind have it in collection but I won't hunt.
I would personally prefers old bottle with 3, it looks more classic that way.

I love watermelon. I never thought that I would want to smell like watermelon but a couple years ago we had really warm spring and the thought of watermelon sounded super refreshing. I researched and tried to find something with a prominent watermelon note and this is what I ended up purchasing.
I love, love this scent in the spring. On my skin it pulls very fresh, rhubarb tart and slightly cooler, watery floral (cyclamen?) in the opening. I occasionally catch a whiff of juicy watermelon as it dries down, almost a jolly rancher sweet watermelon. This stays really tart on my skin for about three to four hours. Towards the end I get a slight musk and warm woody smell though it still smells somewhat tart, not floral, not green per se, but crisp. It makes me think of watermelon sparkling water and warm sun.
The play of sweet and tart with my skin chemistry is my favorite in the spring, when I am longing for the longer, warmer days of summer. For me this is a lovely work day fragrance, it feels fresh and complex. I never feel like it strays into body spray territory unless I layer it with a whipped watermelon body cream, then it can edge that way, but that is also super fun and more watermelon forward.
This is one that I definitely need to 'overspray' though, typically about six to eight sprays. I feel like with that amount I have a lovely tiny scent bubble that lasts around four hours, after that it sits pretty close to the skin. If I decide to go all out watermelon and layer it over a watermelon body cream it will hold pretty strong for about six to seven hours.
I don't know if you can still purchase this version, I tried the new, limited edition and did not care for it. On my skin it pulled incredibly floral and did not have the tart, freshness of this version.

I've been eyeing this for a while but was never able to commit because of mixed reviews and the fact that I'd never smelled it. I was trying perfumes at Sephora recently and was super anxious to try it. Like many others, it was a no for me. The musk was too overwhelming and it seemed to overpower the other notes and not in a good way.

Make sure you sample this at Ulta Beauty or Sephora (or any verified vendor). I've been spraying this on at Ulta each time I have shopped and loved the juicy delicate scent. I ordered at Fragrancenet to save money and the product is not authentic, it smelled cheap and generic and not the same as one sold by a verified retailer. Please don't let a blind buy of this online be your only experience with this great scent because it might be fake.

The opening is fruity and fresh, but then the musk takes over and it becomes like a sweaty horrible smell. It will be a no for me.

A classic that I always recognize when I smell it, and it always makes me smile. It really reminds me of 2010-2013, and in these years, a ton of people were wearing it. It lasted all day for the people that wore it around me and was well projecting. It has the same vibe as Coco Mademoiselle, sophisticated, but this one is fruitier and creamier. A more approachable/relatable and sparkling mademoiselle. The name is also well chosen, it is the perfume of a confident but alluring young woman. I must admit this is one of the rare perfumes I find definitely more feminine, even though I believe scents are genderless and everybody should wear what they want since, in the end, perfumes are so personal. Anyway, l'Impératrice is uplifting with those fresh, suave and sweet melon notes that come out, which are enhanced with a juicy rhubarb. A fresh fruit gourmand, I dare to say. Musk is definitely in the back and supports all other notes, namely the fruity ones and that is why some people perceived it as sour. A pleasant and versatile daytime fragrance that will always have a special place in my heart as it reminds me of my first months at university, when everything was so exciting and new after leaving the nest to fly on my own :)

This scent has been a rollercoaster for me - so if you can try it more than once and give yourself time to decide, it might end up on your shelf!

When I sprayed this in Nordstrom back when it released, I didn't see the appeal (the musk made it feel too 'grown' for my young sensibilities). But after trying it again recently (2019) at Sephora, I was excited about the juicy-nectar watermelon notes. When I finally got a sample and sprayed it on my skin, I *hated* it - only watery ozone and a green 'lemontree' note. But, after letting it sit on my skin, the watermelon came out to play and (especially in the heat) settled into a really lovely simple sweetness, like a watermelon flavored LaCroix. I like this for easy days, when I want to smell fresh but not sugary or 'green' or 'blue' - it's cute! But I'm glad I got a bottle secondhand for a good deal.

ETA: if you like this but want more unisex spiciness, I think Moschino's Gold Fresh Couture is related. Like a cousin.

A good, modern fruity crowd pleaser, but for me musk is too overpowering, stinks of sweat 🥵 otherwise would be lovely...

A typical fruity but sexy perfume. It’s youthful and fresh but provocative. It’s a great choice for a night out for a 20 year old that want to smell seductive without smelling cheap or “old”. The bad thing is that it may be too sweet and artificial for some people (almost like Escada perfumes). I think that 99% of men find this fragrance very attractive but many women don’t because they are looking for something more complicated (less straightforward sexy, you know).

Blind bought this for my wife and I loved it so much I instantly bought her another bottle.

Sweet sun fruity juicy... for all months in my opinion. Even around the house after a shower.

I totally get the body odor smell from this. Straight out of the bottle and in the dry down. Something about the rhubarb must have gone off in the bottle I smelled, but I cannot imagine this smelling fruity in any capacity.

Despite having a handful of men oriented fragrances I’m very open to trying fragrance that are marketed towards women but this one caught me by surprise when I got to know it’s a women’s one.

It’s got a fresh Kiwi and rhubarb blast in the opening which relatively stays dominant for the 1.5 hours max what’s left now is a watermelon type pink pepper aided smooth and inoffensive ASF floral musk scent.The rhubarb and kiwi notes give it a syrupy yet sorta natural smelling vibe.This is pretty good for a designer fragrance smells like one but is prolly one of the best ones.

in conclusion it’s really unisex if you pull it off.
It smells like Loewe solo (both the men’s and women’s version)’s distant bright and smooth cousin.They’ve got the bright summer/spring fruit opening vibes thanks to the peach in the women’s’ and guava in the men’s one.

I picture this scent to be a summer/spring day and afternoon scent yk prolly moving around the city hanging out w friends or just being like frank ocean going around anonymous in the city and the paparazzis taking pictures from a mile away.

It’s super tart and gourmand in my opinion which is weird to say because gourmand is associated with fragrances that smell like ice cream and caramel or vanilla heavy scents etc etc but this is like a fruity,refreshing and robust type of gourmand.lasts longer on the fabrics than the skin for sure tho.Maybe do some extra sprays that’ll be worth it aswell but that might make it a lil over cloying tbh.

Fizzy rhubarb and kiwi, fresh out of the shower clean skin and hair, and sunshine drenched bright citrusy florals with a glitzy metallic edge. The main descriptor here is FRESH. I reach for this perfume when I want to have a scent that is attractive & free-spirited. It is how I imagine a y2k era party girl smells. It is fully matured but is decidedly youthful in spirit. I just think it has a very cool-girl vibe, doesn't take itself too seriously, and plays with scents that create a universal appeal. As for the boozy note, I will say that has come up on me on particularly hot days once it settles, but I don't really mind it. As I write this, I am wearing the same sweater I wore yesterday and sprayed myself ~3 times, and it lingers in a nice way, especially that body-wash reminiscent scent. It's just a sexy scent.

This perfume last for hours if you over spray. I spray like 18 sprays all over on my clothes and it lasts forever!

My daughter have this one when she lived at home. I love to smell it on her. It is such a girly, fruity and happy parfume. I used to borrow some when she wasn´t at home. It smell divine. Now since she have a own family I have also my own bottle of Límperatrice 3. I only wish it has a better longvity.

This dude is playing me! I tried it at Sephora, amazing long lasting juicy smell. I bought it and wore it right away! I reached out for it a second time amd I had to shower again because I smelled like sweaty arm pit! I sprayed it again to see if maybe was my cycle as someone suggested and it smelled fruty and juicy. I reached out for it again and felt the sweaty armpit smell again. So now I want to get rid of it as I don’t trust if it’s gonna let me down. This is a hypocrite fragrance 🤦🏼♀️

I cant even express how much I love this perfume, it is so fresh and fruity. It smells like watermelons and it's perfect to wear on a day out on a sunny day. It's longetivity is stndard for an EDT, it lasts about an hour or so which is a shame as I reallu like it. The projection is so strong but dies down which makes me sad cause I have to top up and it is quite expensive for a new bottle. Though I would recommend, its a very gorgeous scent, I received lots of compliments when wearing this.

I should probably preface this review with the fact that I adore fruity, sweet scents. This stuff is the perfect warm summer day scent! It is sweet but slightly tart, sparkly and juicy. I get a lot of strawberry kiwi and watermelon, but the musk and sandalwood keep it from being too light or juvenile. Since it is still frigid in Ohio, I haven’t gotten to test out the longevity because it isn’t really suited for this weather, but it will probably be the first bottle I reach for when we hit the 70’s. The price can’t be beat, either, as most of my other summer scents are in the high $100 range.

It’s funny—I thought it was body chemistry turning the smell off but I also get the onion note when I spray it on tester strips. Makes me think it’s more to do with how the scent is perceived by some in general. Kind of how you can be a “super taster” and taste soap when you eat things like cilantro etc.

This seemed like a good cheapie, but I was concerned about the onion/body odour note described by many here, and I also am not a huge fan or rhubarb, but I adore pink pepper and cyclamen—so I tried it in at Sephora last week. I love it—watery fruits with a hint of tartness— it’s incredibly refreshing and just what I was looking to wear in hot summer days. Maybe the B.O. is how it mixes on certain skin chemistries. I can see how it might be perceived that way,, but luckily on me it’s like a cool splash of watermelon dew without smelling like watermelon Bubblicious. I tried this on my skin today in Sephora and the watermelon and kiwi at first was nice but there was an undertone that legitimately made me so nauseous. I don't even like thinking of this fragrance because it immediately makes me feel sick. It has a very sour, sharp almost rotten undertone to it. Definitely not for me or my skin chemistry unfortunately!

I don't get the body odor thing that everybody is saying. The comments make me think these people are not used to or familiar with musks but maybe I am wrong. This is a very tart but sweet, fruity and musky fragrance. Very feminine and fun and uplifting.

The opening is very fun and juicy and delicious. In the middle it becomes easily a bit cloying but then it settles into watermelon musk (that I suspect people call bo smell). I don't think it smells like bo in a bad way. Just like sexy skin smell, attractive, seductive a bit. It gives this otherwise innocent frag a bit of character. Lasting power is moderate. A good fruity freshie with interesting notes. I like it.

This is a nice summer perfume- fruity and musky scent. Keep in mind, I personally like musky skin scents. Some background: This was the first fancy perfume I had when I was in my teens. I got it at Sephora after I did a fragrance match test. I did love it, and I still have the bottle! Just a few drops left in it for memory's sake... I never thought of a BO smell.... but upon reading the recent reviews... I kinda get it... Anyways, I still like it because it's nostalgic for me, nice fruit and musk.

It's very light and fresh, not too sweet but very feminine and smells amazing in the drydown. The only downside is poor longevity but that is to be expected for such a fresh perfume.

I was so tempted to blind buy this "amazing affordable fruity perfume." Thank God I tested it first. Even though it smells on my skin like that delicious fruity salad, after a few minutes, it starts smelling off. Rotten. Like as if somebody left the salad in the sun for too long.
This was a huge reminder always to test first.

I sprayed this in an airport and fell in love smelling it during my flight. It stays close to the skin and lingers for about 3-4 hours. Very tart and juicy strawberries and kiwis - perfect for freshening up or as a spritzer out of the shower. I bought a cheap bottle from a discount site and I cant wait to try it in the heat.

Seeing the reviews about watermelon body odor, I just went to smell it again and I can see how the musk and jasmin mingling with the fruits could be interpreted that way, but it’s definitely not that human body odor smell or skin smell that is in some other fragrances. More of a pleasant floral fruity musky smell that doesn’t turn me off fwiw - adds nice dimension to the scent

The temperature has cooled down to 18-23°C where I live, and this fragrance smells absolutely perfect for daily use, it is the right amount of sweet, crisp freshly cut watermelon and a tasty hint of sourness from rhubarb, joyful and carefree, it’s like an elevated fruity shampoo scent. I get compliments wearing this in cooler weather, but in the hot humidity of summer it can develop a musty ‘armpit’ note underneath all the juicy fruitiness (I’m certain that it’s the rhubarb and musk combo that’s the culprit). It’s too bad I can’t enjoy this scent all year round, but I’m enjoying it as much as I can these days.

I loved this perfume on a friend a got it but it very quickly wears off. Great summer / spring scent that's fresh if you have freshly washed clothes and moderately sweet. Yet I just can't get it to last long. Don't recommend to spray it on clothes you've worn for 1-2 days in a row, it just smells harsh. To achieve a fresh scent, layer it with new washed clothes and some nice body lotion.

Really liking this fragrance, it's a great everyday, summery perfume, especially after a shower or a bath. It doesn't get too sweet on me, just smells fresh and clean. However I really hate the bottle, the cork especially. It's such an unpleasant, cheap plastic texture on it :(

I was surprised why several bottles of these ended up at a discount shop I hang out despite being a D&G frag. Then I tested it and just scrubbed it off. It's like someone sold you a fruit slushy and that person's terrible body odor stuck with it. 🤮

I found a way to make this perfume tolerable .I like this perfume on the hottest summer days sometimes but something about the tartness makes it a bit annoying to smell for me after awhile. I'm not a watermelon scent person at all, but blind bought this years ago before I realized that fully. Anyway. I layered this with another blind buy fail (for me), Narciso Rodriguez for Her edt (in the black bottle). Together those two perfumes make a much more interesting scent to my nose than they do apart. The sourness is kind of balanced out with the bitterness of NR for her.

After spraying a bunch of randoms at Sephora looking for a fresh gym scent, I stumbled upon this. Fruity, fresh, bright but so familiar; got home sprayed my Valentino Born in Roma, is it just me or are they very similar!?

Why did somebody have to say armpit watermelon?? I have loved this fragrance since 2009. I used to wear it all the time back then… Now it’s just here and there I’m sitting here with it on my wrist reading reviews and came across a reviewer saying they were getting “armpit watermelon”.. I smell exactly what they’re talking about and now I’m afraid I won’t be able to UNsmell it! From a distance, it still smells fresh and fruity, but if I put my nose to my wrist BOOM B-O!! WHYYYYY would do you do this to me? But also, THANK YOU! I would hate for someone to smell that on me and think I have poor hygiene. LOL.

Back in 2009 I was having a walk through a department store in Madrid. I spotted the D&G Anthology display. This one grabbed my attention because of the color. Spray, spray.

That was it. I became a devoted and committed 19 year old right there and then. I knew I had found my path. The ONE. After saving up for a couple of months I was able to pay the €80 this costed back then. No regrets, I wore and loved the hell out of this one.

My mindset towards wearing fragrances is with a sort of religious conviction/devotion. I do not believe in working my way towards liking something or in “mood” perfumes. I think of mood perfumes as room sprays.
For me personally, I only purchase perfumes I know I 100% love. This was the second love of my life. So when I say I am picky that is no understatement.

A remarkably bad time in my life back then kind put me in the mindset to finish this and never wear it again. But last year I found them at only £20 and allowed myself to revisit and get a bottle.

I think finding the right perfume for you is similar to finding the right person, some magic in the air and suddenly… by instinct, there is a deep commitment/conviction and you are no longer interested in what’s out there. I feel that wearing this is a sort of expansion of my nature. It perfectly projects and says everything I want to ever smell of.

In the awareness that a lot of people get “a fruity summer” out of this bottle I have to say that was not what I got out of this back in 2009 and even now. My first impression was that this was for the city and elegant. Better for cold weather.

I get doves, angels, seashells, ocean water. I get a naked Aphrodite in a painting in a luxurious museum, dark polished wooden floors, candlelight. This is the goddess at the peak of fertility, so much so there is a ripeness/fermentation to it. Her spirit in a bottle.

it's giving toilet cleaner but strangely I kind of like it...? it's okay although I was expecting more, it's somewhat cloying and everyone around me hates sniffing it up close. Smells nostalgic at first sniff reminding me of a shampoo I would use after swimming when I was a child.

One of my first loves. It’s fresh fruity without being overpoweringly sweet. Slightly tart but also airy. I do get the slight musk and sandalwood combo in here which lends a tiny bit of interest and maturity-probably a great summer day frag for a girl in her 20s
The lasting power is terrible. Performs like a body spray. I get mine on discount at tjmaxx for $30, it’s not worth more than that in my opinion. I wish they improved the performance!

I got this perfume as a gift from my boyfriend, he thought it smelled very feminine and sexy. This is so not my thing! I'm sorry but all I smell is synthetic floral and peach and it lingers around forever. It reminds me of cheap rose toilet refreshers and cheap flat girly fragances from discount stores. Nope.

I discovered this in 2010 right after it came out. I instantly fell in love and went through a few bottles over the next couple of years. Back then, this was a luscious fruity musk that garnered one compliment after another. I had people stop me on the street to ask what I was wearing. I recently repurchased a bottle and it smells nothing like it used to. Now, I get the sharp, extremely sour rhubarb and a synthetic floral drydown. Such a shame.

This is beautifully fruity & fresh on others. Unfortunately, the rhubarb note turned sour on my skin. Layering it with Ari by Ariana Grande helped a lot.

I found this online for a steal of a deal and lately am on a huge fruity fragrance kick and this seemed to fit the bill for a great price. I’ve also never been disappointed by a D&G perfume so for $39.95CAD for 100ml it was worth a blind buy in my eyes. I got it today and I do love it. It’s very very fruity and seems more fruity fresh than fruity sweet, if anyone else knows what I mean by that lol I always say that you should wear your fragrances whenever you want to wear them and not by what the notes “dictate” and in most cases you can get away with that, and this is certainly one of those cases. It is certainly fruity light vibes which typically make you think of spring and summer but for me, there’s nothing I love more than the thought of spring and summer in the colder months, living in Canada I get six months of crap weather and six months of Meh with a hint of mild weather lol so this fits the bill for me definitely! It’s definitely inoffensive and would be a nice blind buy for women that like girly, light, fruity, tropical, or fresh fragrances. It’s nothing overly bold or ground breaking, but it’s a really pretty fruity fragrance which a gal can never have too many of :)

I love this scent, it is like a nice fruity shampoo perfect for sunny weather. Clean and not too heavy, however it does not last on me at all. It smells great when I spray it but after one hour I can't smell it all on me anymore :( I will try it again next summer.

Tried this on my skin and it really is a super fruity, fun and fresh perfume. Unfortunately on me, it pulls way too much to the rhubarb and almost stingy, unripe kiwi-smell... Also made me kinda think of the Garnier Fructis-shampoo, as someone else too pointed out!

The best thing to describe this on my skin would be this giant fruitbowl with all the fruits that has been listed on the notes, but its sitting in the sun and gets quickly cloying and sour :(

She’s fun, fruity, fresh, bright. Crisp, ripe watermelon is what you’ll get at the initial spray. And when I say watermelon, I mean it smells like a real watermelon, not “watermelon flavored” scent. It’s a very inoffensive, I would say that if you were to blind buy this one (not that I recommend blind buying at all, but if you had to) this is would be very safe. I would say that this is ideally for girls ages 16-26 but of course anyone can and should try giving this one a sniff because it just lifts up the spirit.

Absolutely just a fruity shampoo. So delicious I feel that you just can’t dislike this. Got it at a bargain price too, hope this is never discontinued it’s absolutely one of my favourites. Worth getting if you like scents like Dylan blue, bombshell ( / Zara Orchid) etc.

I find descriptions of the notes less helpful than I do a description of the vibe a scent gives off. For me this is just the Rich pretty girl who is just effortlessly stunning. She always looks and smells good, but isn’t trying too hard.

This also performs extremely well for me… projection is SO GOOD and so is the silage. Absolutely amazing quality fragrance and for me epitomises what scents should be about. Fun perfume!

A sheer, pink, fruity fragrance that has the duality of wateriness and ozonic air, probably an illusion made from the sparkling pink pepper and jasmine which tends to add a clean air accord when it’s not indolic. The refreshing watermelon and tart rhubarb are equally prominent, with kiwi following. This, in my opinion, only works in summer and in the warmer parts of spring, rainy or sunny, when the smell of greenery is still in the air. It never gets too tart on my skin; I think because warm air works best for this profile. Longevity is right below average at around 3-4 hrs, while being non-offensive, making this perfect for work. Unfortunately because I don’t work in the office anymore with other people to consider, I no longer have a need for it and do not feel like forcing myself to use it, though I’ve used half of a 100 ml bottle. This is not the type of fragrance I’d wear at home. I just don’t crave it in that setting. When I do have social outings in spring and summer, I much rather Delina La Rosee (I’ve also worn to work and have left trails with just 2 sprays lol) which has more presence but is just as refreshing, making it work in colder seasons when I crave a fruity cocktail without the cold air turning it sour. Because I want to limit my collection and already have my few fruity staples, a profile I love but do not need too much of, L’imperatrice 3 will be missed and not repurchased for now.

this was in my "summer/spring" list, but i just happen to use it now, during fall and it surprised me in a good way! the fruitiness felt sweeter and it settled down to a very sophisticated, delicate and feminine smell...so overall it's a versatile smell and value for money

This is one of the perfumes I've had, and I don't regret it at all. This is a suitable perfume for spring and summer, thanks to the watermelon note in it. This on me smells fruity but clean, not a bad sticky fruity at all. On my skin it lasts 5 hours and it last 8 hours on my clothes. A very good performance for an edt.

Picking this out for my Scentbox monthly scent was a major regret for me. I thought it smelled nice in store but out of that perfume-heavy atmosphere, I'm just getting armpit watermelon now when I first spritz it. Gross.

This perfume smells like a watermelon perfume, and I do love that this smells way different from all the other perfumes in the Ulta store. However, I shouldn't have bought a full bottle because when I read why this perfume is kind of polarizing someone said that this perfume "smells like a armpit from the gym" I can totally see where they are coming from. Not to mention the perfume is VERRY intimate. You might as well buy a watermelon shampoo if you want to smell like this. I'm gonna use up the rest of the bottle every time I go to the gym, and after that I won't repurchase.

this stood out to me after an hour at ulta of smelling different designers and i got a decant bc a rhubarb summer scent was #1 on my want list. it was very plucky, distinct, and brightening. however after wearing off and on for a week, it’s annoying. it smells like watermelon jolly ranchers. liquid fruity sugar syrup that is very juvenile and childlike. it’s fun for a bit, but you get sick of it quick. it’s fine to wear in the summer. even though it’s sticky sweet it isn’t mature enough to be cloying and clear.

if you think you need it, get a 8ml from scentbox/bird free trial or regular month to see if you will still like it after repeated use

From all the perfumes I've got, that would be the most used one since I've bought it (along with the all time favourite Womanity).

A fruity juice done right, without the horrible dry down of nowadays popular Erba Pura, Kirke and etc, which turn my stomach.

WONDERFUL. Soft, light, refreshing, extremely well blended, CLEAN.

Sweet, but not overly so ~ even a person who isn't into sweet scents could probably wear this.
I get rhubarb and kiwi, the watermelon is there too. Thankfully the pink pepper doesn't stand out on my skin (not a fan).

Perfect for those days when you want to smell nice but aren't in the mood for heavy perfumes. For everyday, every occasion.. Stays close to skin. To my sensitive nose this isn't irritating at all, does not make me sneeze etc (which many perfumes do).

I will FOR SURE buy a whole bottle of this now! LOVE IT. This could even become a signature scent....

There was something about this I just didn't like, a sour note. It's a very light and watery fruity scent ideal for hot weather. I found it a bit too sharp and tangy for my taste. Doesn't last very well.

It's an amazing summer scent, fruity, fun, with a slight freshness to it.i appreciate the watermelon.The fun character plus the good price value makes it amazing for teenagers.the longevity is mid, not less than what you would expect for an EdT,but it could be better.
Now lets talk about the Silage, this is what makes it a summer scent.In summer, it has a light pleasant projection, but if you wear it in milder climates (I'd say anything under 25 degrees Celsius/77 degrees Fahrenheit) you will not be able to smell it even on yourself.It's a drawback and a perk at the time time, in hot climates it doesn't become offensive ever, but its unwearable in any other climate.

A perfume with watermelon in the ingredient list? Yes! Very refreshing perfume, smells similar to a Watermelon Jolly Rancher candy! It is even mouthwateringly fresh!

I absolutely LOVE L'Imperatrice 3! It is a fabulous perfume - and one of the very first fruity perfumes that I have tried! So fresh, fun, upbeat - great for spring/summer. This is something that my junior high school aged self would have loved! I would be doing cart wheels over this one!

If you like L'Imperatrice 3 and are seeking an easy reach perfume with better longevity - you may want to try Coach Floral Blush. There is a similar fruity playful vibe, however - Coach Floral Blush is like the Monet version, a bit softer, more refined, an easier reach for every day wear that is versatile enough to wear indoors without being overly bold the first hour of wear. This lasts about 4-5 hours without refreshing.

This smells like an inexpensive fruity shampoo or hand soap. It reminds me of the fruity liquid soaps that you wash your hands w/ after going to the bathroom at the grocery store. It is shameful what they charge for this at Ulta $85. It is maybe worth $25-35 tops. It's not a bad scent. If you want to smell like a vague fruity shampoo, you know some kind of light, slightly aquatic, fruity scent that is a bit unidentifiable and is office friendly it is a good bet. It is kind of an easy dumb reach office summer perfume for those who want to smell inoffensive and safe, but you will smell like a body wash all day.

I think this is the perfect easy reach scent for spring/summer and for when you want to just feel clean. I overlooked L'imperatrice for years, no real reason why until one day last year I saw a tester for it and decided to sniff it and fell in love with its young and care free vibe, so I got a bottle.

L'Imperatrice feels fun, its fruity and a bit sweet but to my nose, it isn't sticky, it reminds me of a fruity shower gel or shampoo. The opening is a blast of tart rhubarb and kiwi with a bit of a kick from the pink pepper note, its fresh, sharp but also very sprakly at the same time, the pink pepper fades and watermelon gives an aquatic "pink" facet which makes the tartness from the rhubarb and kiwi more refreshing and cool. It doesn't really change too much on my skin, but I can detect some cyclament quite feintly in the background which is a nice touch and breaks up the fruity fiesta.

The longevity on me is decent with about 6hrs and a moderate, airy silage. I love this to wear as an everyday "spritz and go" type scent, its a happy scent that makes me feel clean and a little bit uplifted, I wouldn't say its something I'd wear to something like a meeting etc but it could be a nice one to wear to work during the stifling heat.
Repurchase? yeah, especially given its very reasonable price point for a 100ml bottle

If you’re looking for something “serious” to wear during the summer? This isn’t it! This is the scent you wear while you’re on holiday, frolicking and playing, having a bit of fun in the sun, and you’re not taking yourself so seriously. Fruity, ozonic, and aquatic notes start it all off and it ends with a laundry musk on the skin. I like this because it’s light, works well in extreme heat, easy to wear, and is not headache-inducing. Smells clean and fresh, like you just got out of the shower, which really, is all that you might want on hot days spent outdoors.

Smells like a relatively cheap shampoo, extremely fruity, there's not much more to it. I probably wouldn't hate it much, if it wasn't for the watermelon note, but that really is up to your taste, I hate watermelon scents in general.
For the quality of the scent I'd say it is overpriced, but what you're really paying for here is the brand name...so in that sense it's okay? Idk, I'd expect a D&G perfume to be a little better.

This is interesting..its opening is fresh and fruity but it dries down to an “oniony “ fruity dirty scent that I don’t want to sit in that all day..I absolutely love the opening. The deal breaker is the dry down..maybe it’s the rhubarb note. I’ll have this 100ml forever😩

I use this perfume only in extreme heat. The longevity is great! Today in the 30 degree heat I applied it at 10 in the morning and now at almost 5 pm I feel it clearly from myself, which happens really seldom in my case. Nevertheless I don't understand the hype around this perfume. I feel ozone notes, sour notes of kiwi and rhubarb. It's kind of a inexpensive smell. When the bottle is finished I don't purchase it anymore.

Today I am wearing L'Imperatrice. It's 22 degrees, I I'm under the air conditioner. Because of the air flow I can feel perfume and God, it smells delicious!!! I really like the way it smells right now!

Aquatic, vegetal watermelon with base notes of sweet lemon and musk. A playful daytime summer scent. Neither great longevity nor sillage. The aldehydic cyclamen makes it inappropriate for the office/close quarters.

Smells al little cheap , reminds me of my child perfume or celebrity perfume smell .I don’t buy it again but I use the bottle up . I use it after a shower in summer before I go to bed .don’t understand why it’s so hyped up it’s not a special fragrance at all . If I want a fresh perfume I rather use miracle from lancome it Hermes the bleu bottle .

It smells like peach, like a fruit smoothie, suitable for summer, but not luxurious, intimate style, a bit cheap smell

Top notes are Kiwi, Rhuburb and Pink Pepper; middle notes are Watermelon, Cyclamen and Jasmine; base notes are Lemon Tree, Musk and Sandalwood. All the different fruits give this fragrance a tropical feel. It’s light and delicious. So happy with this choice. Great for spring and summer.

I think this is the perfect springtime fruity floral. Very tangy and fruity but it dries down to a nice light floral skin scent. It reminds me of a nice walk in the sun on a spring afternoon. I’m not usually one for florals but this is so nice and inoffensive. This is a great gift if you want something feminine but don’t know what their scent preference is.

I think I’ve left a negative review of this previously. I revisited this today though. The opening is sour rhubarb, the dry down is absolutely beautiful though, very clean and fresh. It’s definitely a subtle scent though, you’d have to spray a lot to get any kind of sillage. Lovely summer scent young and clean

This is such a gorgeous summer scent!

Bright, fruity, and sweet. Smells like wine, and bright red high fructose corn syrup laden fruit punch that a kid would drink at a pool party. A lovely summer scent. Very strong in my opinion. Watermelon and strawberries- yum!

Note: I got the 2020 re-release and I personally can’t tell the difference between that and the 2009 version. But I also don’t have a really developed nose 😛

I love this scent a lot. I reviewed before but now I’m back to say how wonderful it is for high heat situations. It’s definitely a rhubarb bomb and if you enjoy something bracing with fruit throughout then try it!

I initially thought I was able to score a Limited Edition bottle and was looking forward to the Watermelon and Strawberry notes but I am convinced that what I have with me is the regular one because of how tart it smells. The kiwi and rhubarb hits your nose right away upon spraying and for some reason, the fruitiness reminds me more of guavas, mixed fruit juice and/or sparkling juice. It also has a fruity shampoo smell which makes it a good refresher during the summer/hot days.

If I understand correctly, the current D&G L'Imperatrice EDT available on the market is either reformulated but very close to the very first or the exact same formulation of D&G L'Imperatrice 3 (2009) and shouldn't be confused with the Limited Edition D&G L'Imperatrice which comes in a pink box and has the words "limited edition" on the bottle.
I am sharing this here because I see a lot of D&G L'Imperatrice EDT bottles (the ones without the number 3 and D&G at the bottom) being sold/marketed as the Limited Edition.

Opens smelling like a car freshener before drying down to smell like my floor cleaner product only less chemical and more wearable for humans. Not necessarily a bad scent in itself, in fact I chose my floor cleaner brand because it smells great, but I don't really want spend bucks to smell the same with my house floors.

Smells a bit synthetic straight out of the bottle, but I am obsessed with the dry down of this perfume! On my skin it smells very peachy (which is odd since there isn't a peach note). I can't stop smelling my wrist when I wear this, so dreamy. My new summer favorite

If you are familiar with traditional British sweet shops, the best way to describe this scent is that upon first spray it smells strongly like candy foam bananas. After twenty minutes or so, all I can smell on my wrist is a memory of rhubarb and custard hard boiled sweeties.

On my skin this is instantly a very synthetic fruity scent. It's not atrocious, but I don't get any of the watermelon notes others have mentioned and generally feel this presents as quite an immature scent. Sweet and bubbly, but cloying. It disappears after a few hours when sprayed directly on the skin.

Not for me, I'm afraid.

A hyper-realisitic fresh watermelon at first spray. Fresh, watery, sweet, with a soft, fruity, pink and white floral dry down. I loved the decant I got so much I bought a full bottle for summer. It's a beautiful, feminine, and fresh scent. Not too heavy, perfect for summer.

I know alot of people say this I'd barely there for them and has no longevity, but on me, I could smell it for 5 hours (sprayed on wrists and the collar of my shirt). It's a light scent, it's not going to bowl you over like Shalimar or scream "ROSE!!!" like PdM Delina. There is no powder or oud. Just feminine florals and fresh watermelon. 😎

Sweet fruit that's not synthetic. If you are an outdoor tropical person this might suit you. All I get are kiwi, watermelon, and rhubarb to be honest. If this were any of the Spongebob Squarepants perfumes and I smelled it I'd think, "Oh, that makes sense."

The rhubarb makes it too sour. If they skipped that note it would be a very fresh scent

Not my thing. Smells a bit artificial and cheap. But I am seeing it on sale quite often, so it is no surprise it is smelling cheap.

I am sure it was a great perfume 10 years ago. But now kiwi 🥝 and watermelon 🍉 scents no longer unique and quite common in drugstore perfumes. So will be staying away.

Not a fan of this at all. It smells like spoiled fruit. I can’t figure out if the bottle is bad or that’s just how it interacts with my chemistry. Waste of money.

Oh my I'm so disappointed! It literally smells like a hot armpit with a weak citrus deodorant that failed to do it's job. Ugh. Where's the watermelon 🍉 and aquatic beauty??? I love a good fruity scent but this is awful.. it's been hyped so much on YouTube as the summer time perfume you need and the perfect watermelon 🍉 scent to pair with all your watermelon products 🙄👎😫 If you want a good watermelon I'd suggest Shay &.Blue Watermelons.

Fresh and fruity and floral it reminds me of Zara fruity it’s sexy for day time in summer but I prefer Gucci flora it’s better

One of my most favourite fragrances! Fresh, fruity and aquatic but IMO done in a classy way. I do not get any pepper in this thankfully as that is a note I usually don't like. I'm also very very picky about musk notes, but the musk in this is done perfectly in a way that elevates the fragrance! This is not a complex and niche-like creation, just an uncomplicated, juicy and fresh beauty. To me this is super versatile, I've worn this in high heat in summer but also during cold weather and nights out. You do have to overspay to get some performance out of this one, but when you do that it lasts decently, I'd say about 4/5 hours with moderate sillage (though for me this drops to 2/3 hours in hot weather which is a pity cause this is a great summer scent).

The smell of L'imperatrice transports me to the streets of Crete and Santorini lined with it's white and blue houses and pink flowers growing along the walls. The sun is shinning and a breeze is blowing from the sea. Perfect summer vibes.

Sadly the longevity is more like a VS body mist , (1-2) hours max.

Ok I really like this! It adds a sweet fruity freshness to any perfume, great for speing and summer. The bottle is so chic, the cap is heavy - the whole experience of wearing this feels expensive and is nothing like using a body mist yet that's what this basically is. I highly recommend this to spray on clothes and just add something sweet and fresh to your day. Great one to tone down scents that are too green or too tart, or just to use as an added kick to save some sprays from your more expensive perfumes. I think that if these notes speak to you - this is a pretty safe blind buy, and not too big of a risk as it's pretty inexpensive.

I had that perfume for couple years.And tried to like it,but I can’t. It’s too fresh and sweet that makes me feel bad even to smell it. And that smell is really weak. No sillage at all. Decided to give it away

I smelled this on an older cousin of mine when I was a young teen and I was amazed by how good her perfume smelled. More than a decade later I bought this at an airport on a discount purely for nostalgic reasons. L'Impératrice for me is physical proof that my tastes have evolved a lot over time. It smells fresh but way too fruity for my liking. It's like wearing fresh fruit juice with aquatic notes in the background. Teenage me would love to wear this though. In hindsight, I shouldn't have bought it. I still don't hate it though, it's perfect for lovers of fruity perfumes.

a major favorite of mine when I'm in the mood for a "fresh and happy" offering. The rhubarb and watermelon make this unique. I find it totally unisex. I love to wear it for sports. It is a "hit" of "oh yeah, remember to have fun," if my energy is flagging. I could wear this pretty much anywhere though. Not super projection but enough that it's respectable. For me, the floral and wood are really not much of a feature here. It's all about the fruit. Dry down goes pretty dull after about 2-3 hours but is inexpensive enough that I don't mind spraying again. And again...
